For context, I have anxiety, ADD, & have been dealing w/ a health issue (which I’m leaving undisclosed) for the past 2 1/2 months, so naturally, my health anxiety has been through the roof.
I woke up & got ready for my day as usual w/ no distractions, but then my anxiety took over. The weather has been AWFUL all week where I live so of course that helped set the mood. I’m also on summer break & had the day off from work while my parents & siblings were at either work or school, so I was home alone all day. From 8-9:45am I was either pacing the house unable to control my breathing, or sitting & staring at the wall crying my eyes out. I picked myself back up & made breakfast while I watched TV.
By this point it’s quarter to 11 & I planned to finish a season for a show, but my nonexistent attention span got the best of me & I doom scroll on my phone for almost an hour. I end of getting to my show but later pause it so I can work out. By this point it’s 1pm. Halfway through my workout I take a breather, but a quick thought ends up distracting me & I then pace around my room for 15 minutes in a tearful frenzy for no reason. Again. I regain composure, finish my workout, & shower. It’s now 2:30.
I go downstairs to make a late lunch where I was going to use the oven. I smelled burning from the oven & in a complete panic over possibly setting off the smoke detector, I shut the oven off, open all of the windows & doors, & have a full blown panic attack.
I called my Mom completely defeated. Nobody was home & I felt so isolated. It was so cloudy & gloomy outside that all of the rooms were dim, even w/ all of the lights on. In the blink of an eye the whole day got away from me & I felt so useless as if I haven’t done anything all day, even though I really tried to be proactive. I felt so pathetic having a breakdown over the phone w/ my Mom even though I’m almost 20. She consoled me & gave me a very gentle pep talk, which fortunately assured me.
I eat my lunch & drink some tea while I threw on a show I enjoy. I reminded myself that it’s not too late to turn my day around. By 3:15 I left the house for the first time all day, went thrift shopping, & grabbed some boba. I’m now home & it’s 5pm. I’ve just been lounging on my bed for the last hour or so. My hair is a frizzy mess from the weather, I’m dressed in grey sweats, & my eyes are red & puffy from crying all day.
I’m gonna dress cute later & head out w/ my family to see my sibling perform in a school concert. I’m gonna finish that season of my show, & get ready for work tomorrow. I had a very off day, but everyone will have them sometimes. The day went too fast for my mind to handle, but at least it didn’t drag. The weather here should clear up by Sunday or Monday (it’s BAD where I am). I need to learn to let go of bad days & not let my obsession w/ structured routines get the best of me. Every day is going to look different, & it’s certainly not good to be busy every day of the week to the point of being overworked.
I can’t guarantee myself that tomorrow will be better, but there is always tomorrow. My health issue will eventually go away. I’ll be happy again. I have family & friends to reach out to if I’m having a hard time. My life is filled with blessings. My mind is always drawn to the brightest side of life. Happiness & joy are meant to fill every part of me. I’m healthy. I’m loved. Bad feelings are only temporary. I’m safe. I’ve done this before so I can do it again. I’m capable. I take things one step at a time. I inhale peace & exhale worry. I choose to feel good.

I am severely mobility limited because my feet/ankles decided to start self-destructing last November. As I'm trying to rehab, I've been learning a lot about how feet/ankles and walking are supposed to work biomechanically, and what the signs are of improper gait and movement that would lead to injury. I've learned a lot, but as I've learned more I've started to get really angry. Angry because the injuries I have were completely preventable, but I didn't have the knowledge myself at the time to recognize the signs and remedy them early, and I didn't get the right guidance to point out those signs to me.
I wasn't born with any congenital issues in my feet or ankles and my current mobility issues were not caused by an accident that was out of my control. When I was younger, I was even a track sprinter, and I stayed active on my feet in different ways through my early 30s. Looking back at videos of me walking, and remembering when my feet started to feel different, early signs of the breakdown of my ankles started around 3 years ago. My gait started to get irregular. My foot started moving a little off. Got increasing stiffness in certain motions. And other signs. At the time, pain wouldn't last too long so I didn't think much of it. I adjusted how I walked and just bought different shoes to compensate around these issues but didn't know at the time that doing so was a bad thing.
2 years ago I injured my Achilles tendon due to starting to have a bad running and waking gait - just tendinitis, no tear. I went to physical therapy and it got me back to walking pain free after about 7 months, but I was still walking weird. I could walk far, but I still limped, and couldn't run. My right foot would point out to the extreme. But the physical therapy place at the time "graduated" me because I was able to do all the exercises no problem, and they never pointed out to me that I shouldn't have been walking like that. "Some people walk differently", they said.
I continued walking weird until last November, when connective tissue in my ankles basically started self-destructing, because I never addressed the key weaknesses and issues in my ankles and the rest of my body mechanics and walking in a weird compensatory way just chronically degraded my tendons and ligaments until they just gave out to the point that I can't even walk more than very short distances at a time and I have to use a wheelchair when I leave the house.
Now my feet and ankles are so fragile. I'm going to a new physical therapy place which is much better, getting imaging, and learning a lot about feet and ankles. But things have already gotten bad to where a lot of damage has already been done and I'll never be able to return to full mobility like how I was pre-injury. I might hopefully recover enough to walk pain free for daily activities, but I'll likely never be able to be active again, and more importantly, I'll never be able to move "freely" again.
I used to be a wanderer. I loved going on walks or hikes or bike rides, to wander outside, to explore places, to be in nature, sometimes without a set route or timing. I never had to question whether I could move myself somewhere. That provided loads of benefits for my mental health.
But now even if I get better enough to walk, I will always have limits on my mobility now. Even if my mobility improves, there will always be a million considerations for whether I'll be able to move myself somewhere - whether limits on the distance or number of steps, or the fact that I won't be able to walk on uneven terrain, or up steep hills or lots of stairs, or just limits on the amount of time I can be on my feet. Now it's just a matter of how restrictive those limits will end up being.
I'm angry that I didn't know better when the signs were there early on that my ankles were on the path to self-destruction and that it wasn't pointed out to me early enough to prevent lasting damage from occurring, even from people who ostensibly should have known better. All of this was completely preventable.
But here I am.

~REPLY:~ Hello Xxxx, I also hope I understand your question. Since you cited Matt.24:14, I will assume you are asking about the meaning of this verse, and how it applies to our day. You don't say whether or not you are a JW, but this people define the "good news of the Kingdom" as the declaration that the Kingdom arrived in 1914, and that it will bring a long list of blessings to those who: learn all current JW teachings, join their program of meetings and publication study, and subject themselves to the organizational arrangements and leadership.
If you are asking if this preaching work is the true meaning of Matt.24:14 and the "good news of the Kingdom" being preached, I don't believe this is so. Why? Because the very understanding of the kingdom, which JW's teach, is faulty. For this reason, I doubt this is the message Jesus had in mind at Matt.24:14. (see http://pearl-generation.blogspot.com/ ) Up until very recently, it seemed that such a message could not be declared in "all the earth", EXCEPT by the Organization of Jehovah's witnesses. But this previous situation has taken an unexpected sudden turn. With current technology, a single individual with little resource can publish information, translate it into any language, have the aid of an instant concordance and Bible translations, and send that information all over the world, and all for free. (Dan.11:34; Zech.4:6) So the presumption that only the WTBTS can declare a worldwide proclamation of Kingdom good news, is no longer true. This opens up the possibility, that a different message could be declared before the "end will come" Matt.24:14. Since the message now being declared by JW's is full of error, I suspect that the true good news of the kingdom is quite different from it, and is yet to be seen.
I also suspect that it will be a declaration that all 144,000 are finally sealed, the kingdom's administration is completely prepared (Eph.1:10; Rev.12:10,12; 14:1; 7:4) and Christ's arrival is imminent. Jesus said that the anointed needed to keep their lamps of truth burning until he did arrive (Luke12:35,36,37,38,39,40). This arrival has not yet happened (1Cor.11:26). There is currently so much error of doctrine to correct due to Satan's work, that no, we will not finish the true preaching work, before the end comes. I do suggest that you give deep consideration of Matt.10:16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23:

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes."

Perhaps you may notice a few differences between the "good news" being preached by JW's, and the one being spoken about in these scriptures. Notice that the preaching would bring the anointed into conflict with their own religious leaders so much so, that they would be "EXPELLED, scourged, delivered up, betrayed by family members, and hated by all" (Rev.11:9,10). But if you notice Matt.10:23; who were the anointed preaching to? The world? No, "Israel". Who is "Israel" just before "the son of man comes"? God's people are no longer the physical Jews, but spiritual Jews (Gal.3:29; 6:16; Rom.2:29). Notice again verse 23:

For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

It says, that "Israel" will not receive a complete witness, before the SON OF MAN COMES. Therefore, this is not speaking about the witness given in the first century, but the witness given just before Christ returns/"comes", our time of the last days. Yes, the "Israel of God" is actually the ones who need to be preached to before the end. They are now located around the globe, so the witness needs to "be preached in all the inhabited earth" for a witness in every Nation. Yet according to Matt.10:23, it is directed to "Israel". This work DOES cause being "expelled, scourged, delivered up, betrayed by family members, and hated by all", because most of "Israel" refuses to hear the truth about their error. Those who speak of it are disfellowshipped/ "expelled" by elders who are not anointed (John16:2; Isa.66:5; Rev.13:7,15; 11:7) [these are considered by Jehovah, as spiritual Gentiles, not anointed Jews (anointed are "circumcised of heart" (Rom.2:29) and are the Temple (1Cor.3:16; 1Pet.2:5)] These "Gentiles" do not belong serving in the anointed "Temple" (2Chron.23:6,7; Ezek.44:6,7,8,9; Matt.24:15), and throwing out the genuine "priests" (1Pet.2:9; Rev.5:10; Heb.12:22;23; 2Chron.13:9; 1Cor.3:17; Rom.8:33; 2 Peter 2:10; Jude1:8).
Most JW anointed ones prefer to believe in a false "peace and security" (Jer.6:13,14; Isa.30:10; 1Thess.5:3) under the mistaken belief, that YHWH's only requirement for them is to be dominated by the Image of a "spirit directed Organization" (Rev.13:14,15), and that YHWH's approval is the same as approval from this Organization of men (Rev.13:13,6,8). This is in opposition to the scriptures, which exhort the Chosen to be directed by their anointing by spirit (1John2:20,21,27,28,26; Rom.8:14) and the One who anointed them. The elders did not anoint the Chosen Priests. That Organizational Beast is now represented in each Congregation by elders (spiritual Gentiles), who are NOT spiritual Jews/ anointed, nor are they meant to be the spiritual heads of the Chosen Priests of God's spiritual Temple (1Cor.3:16; Rev.11:1,2; Rom.14:4; 8:33). Most members of the "Israel" of God today, are in subjection to these, rather than to Christ as their head (Col.1:18). Jesus is supposed to be the only mediator between God and the anointed (1Tim.2:5). There is also no scriptural basis for the anointed to have a "representative" Governing Bdy. ruling over them (Mark10:42,43,44). These are the ones who have set this policy, to throw out any who disagree with them (not those who disagree with scripture) Matt.24:48,49; Rev.17:6). You may also want to consider where Jesus continues in Matt.10; Matt.10:24,25,26

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known."

Notice that Jesus says that all this persecution happens because of things that are "covered"/hidden. Yes, the Israel of God is in spiritual trouble, because of not seeing all the truth about their situation, nor can they view the true prophets correctly (Rev.11:3). Those faithful witnesses of truth are seen as wicked (Just as Jesus was) (Rev.11:9,10). But Jesus promises that the truth will become known (2Pet.3:10 c; Isa.28:17; Amos7:7,8,9; Nahum3:5; Jer.13:26; Rev.17:16; 2Thess.2:8). The "good news" includes that despite most of "Israel" remaining blind, deaf, and asleep; the faithful remnant will be sealed, and the kingdom will come (Matt.22:14; Isa48:20,21; 49:5; Jer.31:7). The whole truth about the realities of how the Kingdom will operate and bring blessings to the physical Creation, will also finally be made plain (Rev.10:7; 1Cor.13:10). The true "faithful and discreet" "Sons of God", will also then, finally be revealed (Rom.8:19; Isa.41:27; 60:1-5; Ezek.14:22,23; Hosea1:10; 2:23).

Before you jump to conclusions hear me out. I (19F) and my boyfriend (22M) were invited to his step sisters wedding (not sure exactly how old she is but she's in her early 20s). Who we'll call Amy. Amy is already married, and has been married for quite some time. Her husband is in his mid to late 40s. And to be honest I find their age gap a little strange but that is none of my business. We'll call her husband Joe.
Amy decided sometime last year that she wanted to have a wedding. When she decided this, I wasn't working at the time. She invited my boyfriend, who we'll call Ethan, and I to her wedding. Which was originally supposed to be a surprise for her husband but he eventually found out. I'm still unsure if she was the one who told him or not.
I've had this new job since February and kept forgetting to save the very little PTO I got to ask off for her wedding. Her wedding is this Saturday, and I unfortunately have to work a full 8 hour shift. And won't be off work until 3-3:30 est (they are an hour ahead of us, and live about 45 minutes to an hour away.) and her wedding would be at 5 our time. Now I don't particularly like Ethan's step sister Amy. It's not that she's ever been rude or terrible to me in any way, we just have very different views and opinions and I don't like her attitude or the way she acts. But I'm polite and cordial with her nonetheless.
Any way by the time I get off work and get home it will be closer to 4 and that gives me 30 minutes to shower, change, do hair and makeup, and pack my daughter's diaper bag (she's 1). I can pack the diaper bag the night before and my boyfriend can get her ready that afternoon.
My issue is while my job isn't super physically demanding, it is still exhausting. I work in a factory so it gets really hot and I'm on my feet all day. Not to mention it is mentally taxing and I have to deal with people expecting me to do there work as well as my own. I also do not have a dress for the occasion and it's not I my budget to purchase one. My boyfriend said we could miss the wedding and still make it to the reception but I don't want to keep our daughter out that late, she gets cranky if she doesn't get to bed at a certain time.
And I don't want to spend my Saturday celebrating some one I don't spend any time with and particularly don't like.

As touching as the reveal that Senku’s father was one of the six renaming humans who wound up being the ancestors of the villagers who helped Senku so much on his journey is the fact remains that they wouldn't have survived 300 years, let alone 3000. And why is that? Because of the problems caused by a little think know as incest. Yes, gross I know, but it is a real problem that would have ended Senku’s chances before they could begin.
Before we say why this would be a problem, let’s break down just how doomed we are. To simplify things, Let’s label the men as A, B and C and the women as 1, 2, and 3. That would make our gen one population A, B, C, 1, 2, 3. For the following populations we’ll just label them with the number(s) and letter(s) of their parents. That would make the new generation, based on what we see of them getting married and assuming that they all just had kids with one partner, and assuming that they all had enough kids for this to be possible, A1, B2, C3. Nothing wrong so far right? Let’s move on to gen three. The only way to combine them would be AB12, AC13, BC23. See the problem? There’s no way to combine them in any way that wouldn't result in a doubling of a something. Heck, with this set up you’d be doubling two of them, meaning that from a genetic point of view, these kids are basically siblings sharing half of their genetic code. Just for fun let’s go one more gen. Gen four would look like this: AABC1123, ABBC1223, ABCC1233. Let’s just say that all those repeats aren’t a good thing.
Okay, but let’s try and be a bit more fair. I mean the fate of humanity is on the line, perhaps they decided to spread out the gene pool, so to speak. Based on that assumption we can get a bit wider of variety with our generations. Gen two would be A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3. That’s a bit better, right? In biology there’s something known as minimum viable population, which is the smallest number of a species needed to get back up to a healthy level. It varies depending on the species, and even for humans, there’s some debate. I’ve seen everything from 50 to 300 at a minimum. Needless to say, out six helpless astronauts wouldn't be nearly enough.
With this level of inbreeding, we would start to see illnesses, both mental and physical, and even issues with having more kids/ future generations. I mean, the medical issues with ancient royal lines like the pharaohs of Egypt have already shown us how bad things can be. With 20-30 years per generation, they would have to survive 185 to 123 generations like that. If it got to that point, it’s no wonder Ruri got pneumonia, her immune system was probably nonexistent after generation, after generation, after generation of poor genetic diversity. Guess Senku never really stood a chance.

Hi all! I’ll try to keep this concise but I am a full time yapper so no promises 😂😅
I (19nb) just moved into an apartment recently and have been looking into adopting. I love love LOVE little creatures, a few years ago I co-parented 3 guinea pigs and took care of a bunch of fish (I am a water fanatic, it’s what I’m studying actually). I have been raised with cats my whole life (lived with a total of six, 3 when I was little and 3 that live with my parents) and while I used to love them I have grown indifferent to them (and very allergic to some breeds).
However, the other day my roommate (19f) finally agreed to accompany me to a no-kill shelter I have been eyeing for awhile, as there was a bunny there that I was interested in meeting to see if we are compatible. We were chatting and waiting for the workers to move when we decided to visit the cats (my roommate is a HUGE cat person, she has one that she is bringing in August) and OH MY GOD.
Oliver is an older cat (about 14) with hyperthyroidism and a possible underlying renal disease according to the vet’s notes. He was turned over due to his owner passing away, but remains so sweet and gentle. He is incredibly thin (about 7 pounds as he only started meds a month ago) and seems to have some goop in his eye, but is otherwise very strong and kind hearted. I have no delusions about how long he will live, and I am ok with knowing that he may only live another year or even another 5.
I come to you, Reddit, to ask for advice on where to go from here. I have never owned my own cat, and would like to know the pros/cons of owning an older cat vs a younger (6-8) year old cat. I also want to know about your experiences with having an animal with a chronic illness, and what that looked like expenses wise. I would love to hear advice on what I should do in preparation (I will warn that I am not set on getting him yet, I want to call a couple vets in my area to see what they think and then call the shelter to see about fostering for a couple weeks first) for a cat, as well as any other tips and tricks you may have :) (Please also leave recommendations for pet insurances!)

I just finished my first full year as a department manager, not assistant. We had our last associate voice survey about four months after my promotion. My scores were alright, had actually improved from our last one.
I take a lot of pride in my work. For me, the satisfaction of my job comes from taking care of my team. I work hard to create an environment my team want to come be apart of. I’ve had bad managers myself and I honestly learned a lot from them. I learned how I never wanted to make my team feel. I try to never tell my team no, but focus more on “yes, but…” I look for compromise for requests that are difficult to accommodate. As much as I would love to blindly say yes, it is my job to make sure the departments needs are meet to function.
Over all my team seems satisfied with me… but there are a few in my department I strongly feel wake up and choose negativity and ugliness each day. I have about 28 deli clerks, 3-4 of them are like this. I say all this to say, despite how much I know I care, my scores went down. Only 80% of my says I care about them. Only 80% are satisfied with me as a manager. I’m going to move forward and find ways to do better for them… but for now I’m just so disappointed.
For my fellow managers who feel they can relate, what are your scores? How have you managed to make everyone happy? What could I be doing wrong or right? I feel like I should have a firmer hand with them. As the managers in my store who are less personable and more strict at all times got outstanding scores.

I'm in England. Employed for 1 year and 3 months on a zero-hours contract, missed out on moving to a full contracted position due to discrimination.
Myself and a co-worker are involved in a grievance at work about discrimination in the workplace. We hope to resolve it internally, but the employer has dragged the grievance process out (almost four months to start investigating what we've reported...) which means we now have to file an employment tribunal case as our time limit is up.
We haven't sought legal advice yet. We absolutely will do this if the case goes any further, but at the moment we've just got to get the paper work filed by the end of the weekend.
The problem is, the form asks what compensation you're claiming and we're a bit unsure on this, especially as we're both still hoping it will get resolves internally and not go to the tribunal. But obviously we want our case fully prepared and ready to go should that not happen.
We've done research and read about the Vento bands. It's hard to be objective but we think we wanna put ourselves down as being in the first and second bands (we've had related but different problems with different consequences)
The problem is, I can't find any good advice on how to select an amount within the Vento bands. This is especially an issue for myself, whose discrimination was a one-off event that probably fits in the first band. But this one-off event lost me a job opportunity, which means I might be out of the job entirely after June. Or I might not, as I might remain on with a zero-hours contract with reduced hours - but I don't know how reduced. That uncertainty in itself has caused a lot of stress and it's been my reality for five months now.
On top of that, I've suffered victimisation from management who have not responded well to me making a complaint, and the discrimination in the first place was committed by a direct line manager. I've also witnessed two other staff members being discriminated against.
I've been very vocal with HR about the negative effect it's all had on my health, but this has fallen on deaf ears.
So while I plan to putting my own injury to feelings as bottom band for a one-off, I do feel it's pretty serious and has had lasting negative effects that perhaps justify more than the bare minimum of this band. But by how much I don't know, and I can't find any good resources to help me figure it out.
Does anyone have any good links or research sources on how to settle on a fair amount within the Vento bands?

I just started my 1L summer job this week working for a solo attorney who does PI and Probate work primarily. Honestly it's been great - super nice attorney, paralegal, and assistants, and one of the biggest things I wanted this summer was legitimate clerk experience, as I hadn't worked in a legal office prior to school and I'm already researching, drafting, etc. (as far as a 1L can do). The main issue is inconsistency of hours and area of practice (I work 3 days, and he said later on in the summer he has cases he'd need me to come in more for, but I'm an adult who has bills).
Out of nowhere on my first day, a small boutique that I have been talking with since the fall emailed me and said one of their paralegals was retiring, and instead of hiring a new one, they wanted to talk to me to see if I was interested in training as a clerk so I could work during law school and potentially come on as an associate after graduation. Our conversations in the past were great, but they just weren't thinking they'd be able to hire a 1L clerk (it's a medium sized city - there are plenty of jobs, but most are unlisted and most hiring is done in April/May as firms can tell what their summers look like). It's been the classic "check back every few months, let's catch up, and maybe something will change".
I interviewed today, and they offered me the job. Higher hourly pay, full time summer, part time school year, and full time next summer. I know of the founder through family friends who vouch for their character, and I've gotten to know one of their attorneys well and he's helped me with networking and law school in general, so I honestly don't think they're full of shit regarding their willingness to extend an offer after 2L summer (it's a new firm, and their last 3 2L clerks all came on as associates, and the one they currently have is doing the same). It's also in my area of interest, and that interest seems to be hard to break into when the market isn't wide open like my city is (HNW/UHNW Estate Planning and Tax).

So I've been playing renegade and raiders, and first of all the Detachment is absolute bonkers, also cause it fits perfectly my playstyle.
After playing something like 10 games, there are a few things I would like to point out and get your opinions on.
I'm basing this talk on my list but I tried multiple stuff so I'll try to point that out aswell
First, you're fast as fuck, in most of my games I was literally fighting all over the board, contesting everything I could want to contest with ease
Screening with the amount of units you have is very easy
The Detachment rule is, well, super useful, but you didn't need me to tell you this
The stratagem are very good indeed, although a bit counterintuitive in themselves. What I mean is that our best 2 are full reroll after disembarking, and moving after combat, embarking if you didn't embark that turn. You need to plan a bit in advance your moves with those, what I found useful was to disembark a unit, charge, and disembarking the second one behind a ruin, so that the next round they could charge and then embark with the stratagem, keeping the waves of units going on
Rubric marines are... Insane? Advance and shoot, ap - 2 and full reroll wounds on objectives, ap - 3 on critical wounds, it's just nonsense for a 105 points unit
Land raiders are just not worth it, way better to have another rhino and maybe a vindicatopredator to keep up with the anti-tank.
I tried Venomcrawlers, they're cool in this Detachment indeed, but I kinda realised that you have just so many good units that you wanna play, that crawlers really don't make the cut in the end
Warp talons are another disgusting unit, even more with the stratagem the allows them to fallback, so they can basically charge anything, fall back and go into reserves. Also a 10 man unit proved extremely strong at taking down basically anything, with 40 attacks S5 ap - 2 (or 3) twinlinked
To close it up an hot take that I have to test better out before making claims, but something like 2 units of 8-man accursed cultist, to start in rhino's and give them scout, then disembarking and letting the actual units in is a nice clean way to give you a lot of early game pressure, and have some more cheap units on the board (hopefully they'll go down in points)
Let me know what you think of all this, also if there are obvious things that I missed

Hello, I am new to being a mortgage broker MLO but have some experience at NFCU as an MLO. I have made 3 really good relationships with realtors from open houses in my first month or two as a broker LO. Unfortunately, I dont really know how to follow up.

(27m healthy) I was in Thailand and got the worst food poisoning of my life. I had insane night sweats, chills, and a lot of bathroom trips. My 4th day of food poisoning symptoms arrived and so did my 25 hour travel day back to the US. I began having blood in my stool which was scary.
Once I arrived to my last lay over after 23 hours of flying my food poisoning symptoms were now met with the worst lower back (tailbone) pain I have ever experienced. I was walking so slow but I was still moving. The more I walked the worse the pain got and it was at this point that I could not bear weight on my feet anymore. My back felt broken and I needed a wheelchair to get to my gate. I began getting worried. I arrived at my final destination and decided to go home and try to sleep the pain off. When I woke up I felt the most excruciating pain in my lower back and was having full body spasms. I actually thought I broke my back at this point. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
After 3 days of tests at the hospital and a ton of pain meds I was given a positive result for salmonella. My doctor also told me my pain is from something called reactive arthritis caused by my body fighting the salmonella. At this point my right ankle was so swollen, my collarbones felt broken and my tailbone felt like someone crushed it into gravel as well as still having spasms in my lower half. I was given toradol and prednisone and began to feel instant relief but was still in excruciating pain. I was using a bedside urinal and a bed pan because I was in so much pain I couldn’t even get up to get to the bathroom. I was discharged and went home with my new meds as well as a walker and wheelchair. The first three days were so painful. I had so many tools and resources in the hospital that I didn’t have anymore. I had to adjust and get through the pain.
It’s now been a 1.5 weeks and I’m feeling some relief. I still need a walker and a wheelchair but I can at least keep my dignity by taking myself to the bathroom. Beds hurt my tailbone too much so I stay on a recliner all day as well as sleep on it. I don’t know when the end is but I’m just taking one day at a time. I’ll never take my body for granted again once this is all over.
TLDR; I got RA from salmonella and I still can’t even walk on my own 1.5 weeks after treatment began.

Lately, I've been very curious as to where a lot of these far out claims that unbelievers make come from (i.e. Lilith allegedly being Adam's "first wife," the Bible allegedly endorsing rape and slavery, Jesus allegedly coming only for the Jews, etc). So, I posted in a sub of unbelievers, to inquire as to how they go about studying the Bible to determine what they think it actually says.
Do they just google "what does the bible say about ____?" Do they look to see if what they're reading is referenced anywhere else, or makes reference to another passage? Do they just read the Bible, cover-to-cover, taking notes, dog-ear pages, or maybe even consulting a commentary?
When the first few responses came back, I thought maybe my question wasn't clear enough, or had been misunderstood; no one was actually addressing the question I'd asked, but rather, they were referencing studies which claimed that atheists know more on average about Christianity than Christians, Catholics, and Mormons, or stating "there's just no evidence," or mentioning how they saw different people behave during covid. But not one person responded to the actual question: how do you study the Bible to determine what it actually says?
As more responses came, however, I realized my question was posed just fine; people (online, in the sub I'd posted to, anyways) simply aren't interested in having such a discussion. They would much rather just ignore the question, and sling whatever "evidence" they find most compelling at you in an attempt to prove to you that "the magic sky daddy is fake, your faith is a sham, the religion is a scam, and your book teaches monstrous morals." I think this is worthy of note, as something similar seems to occur during a majority of my interactions with unbelievers on social media.
This brings up two points I think many Christians need to be reminded of:
First, don't waste your breath.
If you're engaging in a conversation about Christianity, and your questions or points are being completely ignored, you might want to consider ending the conversation. It's simply not beneficial to engage with someone who is only there to argue and to prove you wrong. Now, what I am not saying is that we shouldn't be advocating for the faith, evangelizing, or sharing the gospel. But if the other party is not engaging with the goal of actually listening and reasoning with you, the conversation will devolve into an argument, and that argument will be of no benefit. I personally have taken to beginning/joining such conversations with the question, "If I could prove to you that the Christian God is real, would you believe in Him?" If the answer is yes, there's a pretty good chance you'll have a good conversation with such a person. If the answer is no, depending on the reason why (because it's pretty much always a "no, because..." answer), you may want to consider just leaving the conversation there. Don't waste your breath trying to convince someone of something they've already told you they will not believe even if you could prove it to them.
Second, trust in God's word, not your own argument. If you do run into someone who answers yes to at least considering God if you can prove Him to them, then it will be God who draws them to Himself, not your opinions, arguments, personal experiences, etc that lead them to God. What I've found during my conversations with unbelievers is that a vast majority of them have absolutely no clue what the Bible actually teaches! They may know a good deal about what the Bible says, but only what it says in this verse or that, specifically, which supports their argument; regardless if they have to take said verse out of context, disregard where another verse, in context, directly refutes their argument, etc. 8 times out of 10, what I've found is that any verse an unbeliever may use to show what they think is some horrible thing, if read within the chapter it's in, will gain the context needed to at least show their claim is incorrect (the remaining 2 out of 10 you may need to go a few chapters before or after to gain a better picture of the context).
Which leads me to my final point: unfortunately, in order to have a beneficial conversation with even fair and reasonable others, we as Christians must simply be more knowledgeable of scripture. You will not have time, for example, to read the surrounding 4 chapters of a verse to provide a full picture of its context in the middle of a conversation. You will typically need to just know it off the top of your head, or be able to find it quite quickly. This means that, among the other reasons why we should be doing this anyway, there is a benefit to reading your Bible daily. As Christians, we should know our Bible best. Are we not called to always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks an account of the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15)? Should we be content, engaging in such conversations and struggling to deal with random claims which we should know are being taken out of context, and be able to refute, rather than derailing a conversation to focus on one point which isn't even scriptural?
Remember, the scriptures are the literal, recorded word of God (2 Timothy 3:16); do you reckon that you are more able to bring others to God than He is Himself? Do you think that your stories and reasoning are superior to the Almighty's? Trust in God's word rather than your own.

I've (20M) been feeling like I'm just going through the motions lately. I realized recently that I haven't been doing much outside of working, sleeping, and playing video games in between. For a bit of background, I I've been out of school for about 3 years now, and I pretty much put all my time into working my entry-level job straight out of school. I have next to no friends after having difficulty maintaining friendships out of school, and I don't often see the ones I do have. I've been told that I should make time to have more fun, but I feel like I have neither the money to do so nor the ability to make those plans happen. Plus, I dont even know where I'd go or what I'd do. I've never been a very socially adept person, and spending half my childhood locked in my bedroom didn't do anything to help that (not my choice.) I've made plenty of emulators. NES, Apple 2, IBM PC, various others. I never really had that much of a problem getting the graphics to look correct, I even eventually figured out EGA/VGA which was a nightmare. I'm getting the tile data. If I use the two bits per pixel I get from character ROM and just treat that as a grayscale image, I get a totally recognizable display! I see the words on the title screen, I see the maze. That part's working.

But what's the correct way to get the full color? There's color RAM just above char RAM. I believe I'm supposed to use the same offset in there for the tile as I do for the char RAM. Then left shift it by 2 and OR the values from the pixel array above?
Then there's a color ROM and a palette ROM. I thought I was supposed to index palette ROM from the result I got from the above, and then I use that value to index the color ROM which gives me the RGB values?
That's what I'm trying, and it just looks like a mess. Completely wrong.
What am I missing? I thought this one would be simple lol. I can't seem to find a clear explanation anywhere.
