Hi Guys. Long standing Obese - Type 2 Diabetes here. My Diabetes started after my Open Heart Surgery back in 2011, when I was loaded up with Heart medication to weaken the heatbeats (I had an Aorta dissection, and received an artifical valve and an aorta prothesis.) and numerous medication for high blood pressure. The combination of these medication and the inability to do any excercise caused me to gain weight sending me down the path of obesity and type 2 DIabetes. This is not an excuse at all. This is entirely my own fault as I did not watch what I eat as much as this medication would require it. But hey. I am on the bandwagon now so this is what I have to deal with.
**The one I want to talk about, is the Phimosis (fungal infection causing tightening of the foreskin and cracking of the foreskin)
I was very surprised that when I searched the community here I did not find a single thread that discusses this.**
So one of my medication Synjardy (In Europe) causes the kidney to allow the accumulation/passing through of glucose in to the urine, thus allowing the excess glucose to empty through urination. This is good because we are able to further reduce the blood glucose. But bad news in the pee-pee department because the high glucose in the urine gives way to fungal infections that sometimes manifests in a tightening of the foreskin, and cracking of the skin that can get infected underneath. Now certainly Synjardy comes with a set of instruction to drink at least a glass o water at each urination to prevent dehydration, and to wash the pee-pee after each urination. This is all well and good but we live, we work, and in some situations the washing is just not feasible until we get home. My question to the community. How do you guys combat the infection? Is there any "magic" treatment or cream or ointment you use that makes it manageable the whole thing?
I want so share what has been working for me, but still sometimes (especially in summer can catch us out).
My regime - Antifungal cream for the glans -General Antiseptic ointment/cream for the foreskin on the outside area (A sort of "nappy rush cream").
Please do share because I bet that a lot of us suffering from this. I am not using a throwaway account because who cares. I understand that this is an embarassing and almost taboo subject but we need to share best practices.

FYI, this is a story COLLECTION. Lots of standalones technically. So, you can basically start to read at any chapter, no pre-read of the other chapters needed technically (other than maybe getting better descriptions of characters than: Adam Vir=human, Krill=antlike alien, Sunny=tall alien, Conn=telepathic alien). Breaking News tonight from the Apollo 11 memorial landing site, as Admiral Adam Vir and Captains Warren Richards and Mary Chavez were rescued from the Pacific Ocean, following a journey that was supposed to be historical, turned harrowing. Amy Grey comes to us this morning with the story.
Thank you Julie, it was only a week ago here on the historic Cape Canaveral launch site, that the reconstructed Saturn V rocket was launched by the UNSC International Space and Aeronautics Division on the two thousand and fifty first anniversary of the original Apollo 11 mission. On board The reconstructed rocket were astronauts Fleet Admiral Adam Vir, head of the UNSC deep space exploration division, Captain Warren Richards five year veteran and historical aeronautics expert, and Mary Chavez, six year shuttle pilot veteran, and communications specialist.
The reconstructed Saturn V rocket took off thirty minutes behind schedule at 10:03 GMT July 16 after delays attributed to engineering standbys. However, reports by UNSC investigation early this morning indicate that the delays were called for by engineering head Jade Clein who noticed something strange during her final checks of the Saturn V recreated rocket.
In an interview early today, flight director, Aaliyah Seif of the Apollo re-creation mission informed outlets that there was evidence of attempted tampering on the hull of the Saturn V rocket. The tampering case in the shape of these small silver tape strips covering loosened bolts along one of the Saturn V side panels. Engineers stated that the tape was not heat resistant and would have burned off in time to rattle the bolts loose and, likely, cause a devastating spin that would destroy the rocket.
While this attempted tampering was thwarted, the mission would only become more dire. A sudden and shocking report by Mericanda News 5 showed an uncut image of an unknown alien hybrid woman claiming that the UN President had ordered the attempted assassination of Admiral Vir, in conjunction with an audio recording by Admiral Colter Massie, Head of the Galactic intelligence division and known isolationist, that admitted to the attempted assassination of Admiral Vir, and the acquisition of twenty Thunderhawk’s, which were used to harry the Saturn V on its way to the moon. Admiral Kelly, longtime friend of Admiral Vir, corroborated the story, saying she caught General Massie just after he ordered the deployment of the twenty Thunderhawk’s. During their conversion, he attempted to kill her, before being detained by two members of Admiral Vir's crew, and was later seen being escorted into custody by Military Police.
Indeed, footage has been captured from the hull of the Saturn V, showing approximately twenty Thunderhawk’s attempting to destroy the rocket while Rundi remote piloted drones and an unknown group of what appear to be racing jets, fought back to delay the attack, while word was sent to the UNSC to deploy F-90 Darkfire pilots to assist. This all after communications between Houston and the rocket were sabotaged shortly after leaving orbit. The F-90 Darkfire pilots were able to arrive on time to rescue the rocket, though a hole was reportedly torn in the hull, sucking Admiral Vir out into space. Luckily, he was later recovered and returned to his ship without any injuries. Patch teams were then able to repair the torn hull and the astronauts completed their mission landing to crowds on the moon and returning to earth on time, landing in the Pacific Ocean only nine miles away from the waiting ship.
All three astronauts were recovered and are reported to be in good health.
The investigation into the UN president's involvement is still ongoing at this time, however preliminary reports from the Global Bureau of Investigation suggest evidence is both staggering and damning to the current UN president, who earlier today, attempted to cut all ties to the sabotage efforts, saying she was framed. Political experts report that, even assuming her innocence, she will likely not last to the end of her term.
International News Network was able to interview Admiral Vir shortly after his landing while still on board the rescuing ship UNSS Victory.
Here is what the Admiral had to say:
"I find it... Really very disheartening that someone we all trusted, and someone that we all should have looked up to could do something like this. It really is a heinous demonstration of what political corruption can lead people to do."
"And how do you feel, personally about all of this?"
"Personally, I... well to be honest I am hurt and appalled. Not to mention that I fear for the safety of my family and my friends. Every day I wonder if my involvement with them is going to get someone I love killed... The thought haunts me, but I hope after all of this is over I... and all of us can breathe a little easier."
"Were you scared?"
"I don't think that even needs to be a question. Of course I was scared, getting sucked out of your spaceship isn't ideal."
"What do you hope will happen now?"
"I hope that justice can be upheld to those who deserve it."
"What do you have to say to the UN president."
”...”
”So?”
"I have nothing to say. Wouldn't want to waste the air.”

What followed would be one of the largest scandals in recent political history. At some point an unknown number of classified government documents was leaked onto the internet, and after that it was all over for the Presidency. Thousands of enterprising humans, and aliens alike, viewed the documents to discover all the underhanded and dirty things which had been going on in the UN governmental body over the past few years. Forensic accounting experts (mostly Tesraki), uncovered plenty of fiscal tampering which shed light on plenty of isolationist related projects and bank accounts. There was even evidence that they had something to do with the original assassination attempt against Admiral Vir so many months ago. The drama had even managed to capture the attention of Rundi political experts and Vrul computer science geniuses, and together they unearthed a world of unfathomable, but not unexpected corruption. The process to remove the UN president from office was probably one of the fastest movements of human government ever seen by UN congressional leaders, who were likely trying their very best to distance themselves from association with the president, who despite not being the only one involved, had become the political scapegoat for everyone else that had a supposed link with isolationism.
Even the VP fell under suspicion and was watched closely for the rest of his term.
Admiral Massie and the UN President were placed under arrest and set up for court dates in the nearing future, though everyone saw a long and arduous litigation process ahead. Even Ramirez's family had filed for damages against the government after the news came to light, confirming that their son had been shot as collateral in one of the UN presidents plans to assassinate Admiral Vir. They settled out of court to the tune of an unknown, but impressive sum of money.
No one really knew how much, but a couple months later Ramirez's younger sister was seen training at one of the most prestigious Olympic academies on earth.
Ramirez himself was suddenly able to afford housing on the moon in a condo just next door to his best friend, though no one else inquired further.
The Rundi chairwoman came forward with her own investigation, admitting to being suspicious for a long time though she feared accusations without proper proof. Admiral Vir was seen having lunch with her not so many months after the events took place, suggesting that the trust between the two of them had not been completely dissolved. With much of the isolationist element gone from government, public policy began to lean heavily towards integration with the alliance. The occasional isolationist demonstration or protest was held, but none of them managed to gain traction.
Admiral Vir was finding himself more important than ever, though it was to his chagrin that his ship was grounded for the intervening months while the investigation continued.
No one was entirely sure what the future held.

Admiral Vir stepped into Admiral Kelly's office. The last time he had actually visited her here had been over a few years ago, before his promotion to captain of the Harbinger. It seemed so distant now, and he never expected to walk into her office with a star on his shoulder. She stood as he entered, and the two of them shook hands, ignoring all the stuffy formalities that usually come with the meeting of two military officers.
The wall behind her was decorated with a myriad of metals and awards she had received over her career, and he couldn't help but note the slight tinge of grey he could see forming in her hair. He knew that feeling, he was going prematurely white much to his chagrin. She stood and the two of them shook hands.
"Vir."
"Kelly."
She motioned him to sit, and he sat, sighing lightly as he had been on his feet all day consulting with political figures and other members of the UNSC.
"A strange couple months wouldn't you say?”
"Tell me about it."
Kelly reached under her desk and withdrew an amber bottle which she placed between them,
"I always forget; do you drink?"
"On occasion."
"Well consider this an occasion."
She said, popping off the top and pouring two glasses for them. She handed his across the desk and he leaned back in his seat cupping the cool glass in both hands.
She swirled the amber liquid around in her glass,
"So what are your plans after all this?”
He took a sip of water warmed by the burning liquid,
"Hoping things will go back to normal and I can go back to traveling the galaxy."
Kelly grunted,
"A simple man with simple motivations."
He laughed,
"Sometimes I think a stupid man with simple motivations."
She chuckled then grew serious,
"A lot of people make the mistake of assuming simple people don't have the intelligence to match. Some people assume that trusting means gullible means dumb. Just because we are trusting and expect others to do the right thing is not necessarily a fault. I believe there is a kind of beauty in assuming the fundamental goodness of humanity."
Admiral Vir shook his head,
"How can you after seeing what we have seen?”
"How can you not?"
She shrugged,
"We always knew that politicians were corrupt, but think about everything else we have seen."
Admiral Vir nodded slowly,
"The enthusiasm for the Apollo 11 recreation mission, the people who flew up to help us. All of those people who went digging through years of information just to uncover the truth."
She raised her glass,
"Precisely. Goodness in humanity is all around us, but we tend to overlook the good in favor of the bad."
She placed her hat on the desk and sighed,
"It is up to good people to keep their goodness going even when it might seem easier to give into the bad. I have and will always believe in the fundamental good of humanity. Some may call it naive, or even stupid. Others have said I have a romanticized view of a species that is fundamentally broken."
She turned her head to look out the window, a contemplative expression on her face before turning back to look at Adam.
"You understand me, I think."
He nodded slowly.
"People need to be believed in. You tell someone for long enough that they are fundamentally bad at their core and they will begin to believe you. For thousands of years pessimists have gotten it into our heads that we are no better than animals, worse even since animals don't fight in wars. But I believe that is wrong, I have seen people, I have met people, and I have interacted with people who prove to me that humanity cannot just be fundamentally bad or else these people wouldn't exist."
She tapped her nails against the glass,
"I think it is easier to corrupt purity than wash away a stain."
He listened quietly as she continued.
"Humans are born good, Adam, and life stains us. We aren't born stained while some of us are wiped clean."
She shook her head,
"Doesn't make sense to me."
She caught him with a look, pinning him to the spot with her intense stare,
"People like you convince me of this every day."
"Me!?..."
She held up a hand.
"Adam Vir, I am convinced that the best outcome this universe ever had, was when a happy go lucky science fiction freak was lucky enough to be the first man to meet aliens. Any other way things would have gone horribly wrong."
She leaned across her desk,
"The universe needs men and women like you, and not only that but the universe needs people who are going to support men and women like you."
She sat back,
"Which is why I have made a decision…"
He raised an eyebrow in curiosity, not entirely sure where this could be going.
She smiled,
"I have decided to run for UN President."
He nearly spit his mouthful of expensive scotch onto the table, but managed to choke it mostly down.
Eyes wide he set his glass down,
"Are you serious?”
She smiled,
"Seriously serious."
"Well shit, you have my vote for sure."
He raised his glass to her,
"I couldn't think of a better outcome."

Obviously, I have Charlie’s permission to post this and for the people already knowing the stories, or starting to read them: If you follow the link and check out the story you will see some differences. I made some small (non-artistic) changes, mainly correcting writing mistakes, pronoun correction and some small additional info here and there of things which were not thought of/forgotten or even were added/changed in later stories (like the “USS->UNSC” prefix of Stabby, Chalar=/->Sunny etc). As well as some "biggemajor" changes in descriptions and info’s for the same stringency/continuity reason. That can be explained by the story collection being, well a story collection at the start with many standalone-stories just starring the same people, but later on it gets more to a stringent storyline with backstories and throwbacks. (For example Adam Vir has some HEAVY scars over his body, following his bones, which were not really talked about up till half the collection, where it says it covers his whole body and you find out via backflash that he had them the whole time and how he got them, they just weren't mentioned before. However, I would think a doctor would at least see these scars before that, especially since he gets analyzed, treated and goes shirtless/in T-shirts in some stories). So TLDR: Writing and some descriptions are slightly changed, with full OK from the author, since he himself did not bother to correct these things before.

Hello everyone, I'm a 16 years old and I really thought before making this post because I feel ridiculous saying my life is hard when you see how everyone here struggles. But I think I need it. Recently, I've been in a really bad mood, mainly not because of my current situation, but because of the future. What's the point of living in a world with that much hate, that much violence, that much negativity ? I honestly think about ending my life because I don't want to continue. I've lived harassment in school and thought it couldn't get worse. But then, I got to middle school and it got worse, but even at my lowest point I had hope that the future would get better: I was too young and too dumb to understand the world. But now, I see it. I see that this world is rotten. I see all the bad things that happen in that world, and I don't want to continue, I don't want to grow up in that world, I don't want to become an adult. For what purpose ? Pay taxes ? Always be stressed about what's going to happen next ? I see everyone around me being happy, in a relationship, with tons of friends, a lovely family etc... But what if I'm not made for that world ? Everyone is always so strong, always taking hits and bad news, but maybe I'm just too weak for that, maybe I should end it now. I've never been in a relationship, I have little to no friends, I hate my family, so why would I continue ? What keeps me from ending my life ? I hate this world, I don't want to continue, I just want to sleep and never wake up. Sorry again for being this negative even tho I have a way better situation than a lot of people, I know I should just be happy and just my mouth, but I think I needed it. And sorry if this is very unstructured, I just wrote what was coming in my mind.

I’ve been suffering from extreme bloating and excessive burping for 5 years now. It’s especially bad if I eat any dough related food (bread etc). But other things still cause plenty of burping.
Anyway I did an ultrasound and a stool sample and my gastro prescribed me the following:
Spasmomen 3x a day Xifaxan 2x a day Digest gold + probiotics 2 x a day
Anyone has experience with these ? Is the solution really 7 pills a day! Anyway I’m gonna give the treatment a go cuz my gut health has honestly become unbearable.

So the Summer Olympics is coming up, and regardless of my feelings on the Olympic Committee, I kind of love it? Like, I'm watching every single archery game my involuntary ESPN+ subscription will show me, and as for artistic swimming, well, let's just say I'm really excited to see how Mexico does this year because their performance in 2020 was fab.
Anyway, you also may have seen the news about the 2024 Olympics: they're populating the athlete dorms with twin beds made out of cardboard in the hopes of preventing orgies. I'm absolutely certain that will prevent athletic, motivated, incredibly competitive young people in peak physical condition from getting it on, guys. Good job.

I know asking for Summer Olympic romances is probably a little too niche, I don't think there are many. (And I gather they protect that trademark like an Ice Planet Barbarian tracking down his resonance mate.)
So... I want romances where one or both of the MCs participate in summer Olympic sports, preferably the more obscure ones, preferably at a professional level, although no Olympic involvement is required. If not professional level, at least competitive level - I want the MC(s) to be winning (or losing) at this sport, and I want them to play it as a sport. Much as I love a medieval with an archer FMC, an MMC taking leisurely horseback rides through regency England, or someone sailing around the world as, like, their thing, that's not what I'm looking for.
Here is a list of all the summer Olympic sports. Yes, yes, I know cricket isn't obscure, but it is in Romancelandia. Most of these are obscure in Romancelandia! Bring it on!
A couple favorites of mine featuring Summer Olympic Sports: {Bad Girl Gone Wicked by Shilpa Suraj} (MF contemporary) features an FMC who plays cricket. {Winning Ruby Heart by Jennifer Lohmann} (MF contemporary) pairs an FMC who is a competitive runner with the sports journalist who took her down in a doping scandal several years ago.

Yet when I’m going through a rough patch, my Nfather does manage to show some (probably fake) empathy. Can’t help but think he feels better about himself when I’m doing badly; while when I do well, he feels threatened.
I got a job two years ago at a big 3 consulting firm and the dude didn’t even try to show some enthusiasm, despite having worked in the same sector (yet not at a big firm) his whole life.
I think as children we have an innate desire to share positive news with our parents, but I get reaffirmed every single time I try that it would be best to opt out completely.

Was asked to explain about my bad ref check(s) from the consulting firm I worked at.
The person who asked this is ex-consulting (same firm as me) so he ended up checking informally AFTER rolling out my offer letter. Now I have quit my consulting role, and I’m about to join this new company next week.
He admitted he should have done this before rolling out the offer but says that “better late than never.” The people who he talked relayed second hand info (read: gossip) that my work ethic isn’t strong enough. For context, my last appraisal mentioned that I regularly went the extra mile to complete my deliverables.
This (these) ref check(s) prompted said person to ask me to show up in office where he warned me that the new company is pretty ruthless about firing people if they don’t perform in the first few months. How should I respond?

I'm taking a date to see a movie at Cinespia at LA State Historic Park tomorrow night. Has anyone been to a Cinespia event there?
Curious if anyone had any tips for making it a memorable experience. We're not overwhelmingly interested in the movie—mostly interested in spending time with each other and enjoying a nice evening outdoors. With that in mind, I'm thinking of strategically choosing a spot in the outskirts of the crowd (if that's a thing).
The "bad case scenario" here would be to be surrounded by loud people near us, which I hear can be a thing here.

We collected 6,440 multimodal long-context samples from 21 existing or self-constructed datasets, with an average of 15.2 images and 422.3 words per sample. The table and figure show the detailed statistics of our datasets.

Key Findings:

• Closed-source GPT-4o excelled in both diagnostic and realistic evaluations, but still short of perfect 100%.
• Most open-source MLLMs struggled with long-context tasks. Only Mantis and Qwen-VL-7B managed notable scores.

These results underscore that there are "miles to go" towards fully-realized long-context MLLMs.

SOS what do I do with my insane parent in laws
In 2016, I met my husbands parents for the first time, and initially, everything was great. His mother, seemed particularly cool, sharing my interests in fashion and design. However, during a subsequent visit, a friend of his mother mentioned that she was speaking negatively about me, which puzzled and upset me.
Kevin's father later explained that the mother said she felt uncomfortable with me, citing my happiness and upbeat American-ness as issues. Despite this, I was just being my normal self, which might have clashed culturally since they are German and French.
Over the years, the mother in laws behavior oscillated between being nice and giving me gifts, to being jealous and attacking me verbally. She even made inappropriate comments, like accusing me of having a liking for older men due to my father's death and saying that I was looking at her husband. It felt very clear she was just incredibly jealous and insecure woman and my husband told me of how many issues of jealousy that has happened so many times with the father. Every time my husband would ask his mother why I make her uncomfortable or why she doesn’t like me, she has no answer, and can’t come up with any concrete but says “she’s so American” and “I just have a feeling she is bad”
The breaking point came during a stay when we were visiting them, where the mother in law’s spiteful comments culminated in a hurtful email randomly accusing me of ingratitude and insensitivity when I brought her a gift thanked her for anytime but it was not the root of the problem. . My husband and and I responded firmly, expressing our disappointment and setting boundaries against their emotional manipulation.
Despite our efforts to address the issues, the mother in law continued with baseless accusations, including claiming I made advances towards my husbands father. Which absolutely freaked us out, we received a random email saying the the father was looking at me, because I was begging for attention and that he never wants to see me again because I was the cause of all the problems. Which is sick and was very untrue . It was disgusting that they manipulated me being causal and totally appropriately nice as something in their favour to play to their negative image - but keep in my these fact accusations came 7 years later after for 7 years she “studied” pictures of me in the background and saw a time I hugged her husband or stood next to him in a photo - taking things completely out of context.
This led us to distance ourselves and eventually move to America.
2 years later after cutting off all contact, my husband met them, they fought it out and ended in well we will have to get everyone to get her and talk it out.
6 months later we slowly decide to plan a trip to Europe, the mother in law questioned whether I would be coming (we’re married) and threw a fit saying they will not see me and made further unfounded accusations and suggesting I needed therapy and that I am manipulating my husband and I was trying to hurt the mother in law and was hitting on my husbands father.
My husband tried to mediate, but their refusal to acknowledge their hurtful actions and refusal to believe the truth. They just ignored us and said we won’t respond.
They prefer to live in this web of lives because it serves them. They have constantly served narcissism throughout the years but this has gotten sick and really disgustingly twisted.
I'm now left wondering if sending them a letter would make any difference, considering the deep-rooted issues and continuous toxic behavior from my husbands parents SOS! Please I would love your advice

Her lifelong response to my needs or inconvenient requests for respect or attempts to hold her accountable for her behaviour (throughout literally hundreds and hundreds of interactions that she has walked away from or hung-up on) has essentially been "tl;dr 🖕". This was the last ever day of school. School is officially past. It was my last chance to ever speak to her. I was lucky enough that she and a friend of hers sat with me during the entire day at school. We walked all the way down to home, I came up with some excuse to be with her and I started talking to her. I was still questioning whether she had actually read my letter I gave her in the school trip because I thought that her friend took it to ridicule me, but to my surprise she did actually read it and she told me she read it not on the trip, but after we came back. I was quite anxious and it was quite obvious, my legs were shaking the entire time and my eyes nearly started watering. But I think that I said to her everything I wanted her to know. She told me that she's absolutely okay with me and she likes me, but prefers to stay friends with me. I was totally okay with this, cause she took it all very nice actually and didn't feel like any disgused by me trying to get her. I then told her that I really wanna stay close to her, even as friends and she welcomed it. We then hugged and said our goodbyes. I kinda wish I had kissed her, but I'm okay with it, and I'm so proud of myself for finally finding the courage to say it absolutely all I wanted!!! I'll try to keep contact with her, since she's okay with it. It's not the perfect scenario, but I still won in my books, plus I know I won't be all alone now that school is ending! Hello, I'm not big on writing my personal stuff on the Internet but here I am writing it out of pure pain and inability to see a bigger picture.
So just about 2 months ago she broke up with me on my 30th birthday. It was a shock, and the most devastating emotional, psychological experience I ever had. Because what happened was that we were together for the weekend of my birthday, and she bought me a nice present and wrote a heartfelt love letter, saying how wonderful I am and how she loves me forever, how she loves me the most. How she could spend the eternity exploring the amazing universe that my mind is. She woke up before me on the birthday and gave me the present and the letter. And then that same day, that afternoon she told me it's over, and how she thinks that she will regret breaking up for the rest of her life.
Our relationship lasted for about a year. It was very intense and emotionally charged relationship. And during the relationship she made me feel safe. Saying things like: she is my home, my safe place. Saying that I'm the only man for her and that I am somebody who will forever be in her life. Talking about how she sees herself having kids with me. How she loves me unconditionally.
She has seen all of my flaws, and believe me I have them. From my insecurities, abandonment issues, trust issues to a certain degree also. But I am aware of those issues and I am going to therapy, and I do work on them as best as I can. Sometimes I fuck up and let myself react out of emotion, which I know I shouldn't do , but I've never learned those things as a child or young adult, I'm learning it now. The way she ended it out of nowhere, one moment everything is okay and she loves me the most, the next moment is over really fucked with my head and made me put all the blame on myself. She basically decided for me and her that it's over. Now looking back I can see how she was probably preparing to end it a month prior.
But if she was thinking about ending it, why didn't she communicate her unhappiness, feelings she had, thoughts she had with me? Why knowing you wanted to break up, would you come for my birthday and tell me you love me the most and forever?
We did have an open communication, well looking back we had open communication when I was in a better place and was pushing for conversations. In the month before she broke up , I was in a bad place mentally and putting a lot of pressure on myself, being unhappy with the way my life is going, and 30th birthday approaching.
Uh I don't know if any of this makes sense, and I just scratch the surface here , didn't paint a full picture. But I love her, and I feel like my heart and soul were ripped out of my body. Can't stop thinking about her.
She insisted on no contact after the break up. But I'm having a real hard time with it. I've sent a couple of messages saying how sorry I am for lack of emotional maturity on my part and how I love her, and how I can see everything. She just left me on read. No response. My brain is telling me to keep sending her messages explaining my faults and how I never wanted to intentionally hurt her. How I understand her and her past traumas. How she tends to stonewall and how I'm willing to work on it with her. In hopes we can be together and work through the issues. Maybe I'm just delusional or falsely hopefull. Maybe it's the fact that she made me feel like I can put all my walls down and be fully vulnerable with her, and allow myself to love her. And attach myself this much.

I'm posting because most of my friends only play spellcasters, while I'm the martial guy 😅 so kinda wanted to expand what I can reach

My vision/fantasy

is about heroes (or villains heh) that can go from above what's expected of people being able to do and endure things few can to experts of the physical being able to reach preternatural feats and unparalleled might and finally being masters whose skill would be seen as legendary and supernatural

My intended experience

Fighting with might and skill, adapting and choosing between better attacks, movement, defense and tricks of sorts for the initial levels to tier 2ish
then being able to influence the scenario thanks to their feats and reputation as well as being able to do things that challenge the limits of physicality, resiliency and willpower, preternatural feats
All while not being dependant on magic, trinkets or magical weapons, improved by them for sure but not dependant

How the system lives up to what I look for

Well, it's a bit dull and repetitive, weirdly most if not all components are there but they're either clunky or too costly to work together or don't offer as much valid choices as I would like
It's extra disappointing after seeing the things that could have been done in the play - even if WoTC is rescuing a lot in OneDnD

Dear brothers and sisters,
Next week it will be two months since earning my CCNA. I have reached out with my resume wherever I could, applied to every entry-level networking job I saw - and still nothing. I haven't received a single job interview call so far. Nothing. Zero. Bummer.
It's unlikely this is some kind of cardinal resume issue. I have tinkered with my cover letter and resume a lot, and everything looks clear, concise and truthful.
Since I blew last of my money on getting this cert, I kinda live in a squalor now. Every day I must deal with anxiety, fear, self-destructive thoughts and there's nothing I could do other than watch how my life is becoming one big Trailer Park Boys episode.
Not everything looks bad though as I understand networking so much better and this has helped me a lot with my little hacking hobby I enjoy. I have obtained many great books on hacking and each day I learn something new. It's not just about techniques and tools, I have also developed a strong curiosity about code (mostly scripting for now). This is the only thing that keeps me going.
Although I still like networking a lot, I would love to become a mainframe administrator someday. IBM has great free books on that so I will definitely give it a try as soon I am done exploring everything that wireshark can offer (MATE looks like a useful thing).
Well, this is how it goes for me right now. I love technology but being stuck in such a dark place just sucks (I'm from the Balkans region).

In George Orwell’s Animal Farm which is on the subject of the existence of a society of animals living on the Manor Farm. One first thinks that this novel is about the animals living in a farm from the title. But as the story goes on, it gradually begins to make the readers understand the depth content of the workings of society in Communist Russia. George has accurately compared the society of human to the animals to the animals living in the Manor Farm. In this novel, author has compared the Russian revolution, where animals represent the significant personage and act as the leaders in the Russian Community. Animals are used to demonstrate the operation of the communist class system and how the citizens(people) respond to this and the effect of the leadership by early Russian leaders such as Stalin on the behavior of the people of Russia. For instance, the Old Major makes the speech to other animals about the idea of revolution. Since he dies before the beginning of the revolution, it could be compared to the Karl Marx, whose ideas set to the Communist revolution in motion. The seven commandments are consider as one of the important step in the revolution which changed by the rulers of the Farm. This paper talks about how the seven commandments were altered during throughout the story and whether it reflects the message of the Communist Manifesto.
After the rebellion took place in Manor Farm, it changed to Animal Farm where the set of laws was introduced to the citizens of the farm by the leaders. The set of laws which are known as The Seven Commandment are said to be “form an unalterable law by which all animals on Animal Farm must live forever after.”(Orwell) These Commandments were so important that they were painted by Snowball and Squealer “in giant white letters that could be read from thirty yards away.”(Orwell) The original Seven Commandments ran as:

1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
2. Whatever goes upon four legs or has wings, is a friend.
3. No animal shall sleep in a bed
4. No animal shall drink alcohol.
5. No animal shall kill other animal.
6. No animal shall wear clothes.
7. All animals are equal.

These commandments were to be followed by all the animals living on the farm at all times regardless. As one can think from the reading, the simplest phrase that explains these commandments is “Four legs good, two legs bad.” As time passed by, the commandments were altered by the rulers of the farm. Napoleon (the pig who emerges as the leader of Animal Farm after rebellion) who very cleverly broke the commandment and reintroduced as “four legs good, two legs are better” Even though the first two commandments state that anyone on two legs is bad and should not be allowed in the farm, they were wracked in the first year. Since the pigs started walking on two legs, the first commandment was violated and more over, the hero of the Battle of the Cowshed, Snowball turned into an enemy of the Farm as he was thrown out by Napoleon and allowing trading through Mr. Whymper resulting in violation of commandments .
The pigs moved back in to the farm house which result into alteration of the first commandments. The third commandment restricts animals of the farm to sleep in the bed which was forced to change by Napoleon with the modification of the commandment by adding “with sheets.” After the rebellion took place in the farm, the first commandment overruled which was being “all animals equal.” As we read thru out the story the pigs were keep on changing the “unalterable laws” for their comfort just like we saw above with sleeping in the bed. According to Napoleon, sleeping on beds is not a major change yet it was not allowed earlier since humans lived on the farm slept on the bed. The pigs changed the commandment so wisely that the other animals of the farm didn’t think as the violation of the commandment.
The next commandment to change is “No animal shall kill other animal”. This happens not long after the confessions and executions of animals on the farm that were supposed traitors and in league with Snowball. After these executions, again Muriel, Clover and also Benjamin plus some other animals felt this did not square with this commandment. Once again, the pigs have changed the Commandments in order to justify their actions. The animals read the Commandment they though did not agree, “No animal shall kill other animal without cause”, and then the animals see how really the Commandments had not been violated.
The next commandment to change is when Napoleon abuses his power and made life harder for other animals. The pigs impose more control while reserving privileges for themselves. Squealer justifies every statement Napoleon makes, even the pigs’ alteration of the Seven Commandments of Animalism. “No animal shall drink alcohol” is changed to “No animal shall drink alcohol to excess” when the pigs discover the farmer’s whisky.
One would never think that pigs ever made change to the commandment about the clothes as they were enough powerful to rule other animals. The seventh commandment explains that all animals in the world are treated equally without distinction. Instead of considering the commandments as “unalterable laws,” they were replaced by worthless slogan “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others,” which is totally opposite to with what they were introduced to other animals.
Orwell has used images to make his argument stronger. He has used events to help readers to understand his thoughts. While reading, we develop a feeling of sadness inside getting attach emotionally to the story. Orwell writes in a way to targets readers emotions because they have the ability to experience and feel the pain suffered by the animals in the farm. The following scene could create a strong sorrow to the readers “So Napoleon, with the help of his dogs, slaughters anyone who is said to be disloyal. The tale of confessions and executions went on, until there was a pile of corpses lying before Napoleon’s feet and the air was heavy with the smell of blood, which had been unknown there since the expulsion of Jones.” To top it off, Napoleon outlaws Beasts of England, which had served as one of the only remaining ties between Animal Farm and old Major?” (Orwell 65).

The Sons Rebellion. Recolected upon as a time of great pain and hardships for many and all. A season of blood that pitted brother against brother, friend against friend, amongst the northmen. An era where trusts and old allegiances meant little and less. Nigh on near the end of the reckless turmoil, in the thick of the stabbings and bloodletting, Rickard Bolton was born, a young babe. Nary a moon came and passed before Lord Royce Bolton passed the babe off to Lord Stark, to serve as a ward, to serve as a hostage.
Winterfell. A home, of sorts, away from home. The Starks were never outright cruel to the young Bolton boy as he aged. There were no beatings or punishments without having rightfully earned them, but they were always cold and otherwise distant. Never a one wanting to overly welcome the youth, for he was not family, never would be, merely a ward in a home that was never his.
Weeks became months, months became years, all blurring by. Rumors trickled in from the outside world, or the occasional snippet of information passed off from one of the Stark children, meant as kindness or insult, Rickard could never say. He’d a brother they said. A sickly cripple born from an ugly hag in the cells of the Dreadfort. Later a sister they said. Born a healthy girl, only she slayed her mother in coming into the world. The hardest news he denied for some time until the words came from enough mouths it had to be true, Lord Bolton, his own father had died.
Old age they said it so, the ghost of Calon Bolton himself in the night did it they’d said, the bastard Snow has his hands red they’d said. It didn’t matter what lie or what rumor he gathered up, they all pointed the same way, the old man was dead to the bones. Rickard had spent many nights foolishly dreaming childish fantasies. Imagining the day his father would come, confront the Starks, demand his return home. Now that would never come to pass. He was left to only imagine what the man once had looked like, what home looked like.
By the men of the castle Rickard learned his skills, smarts, and wisdoms of the world. He had a natural tendency towards letters and writing. He’d learned to hunt, to hawk, and play with the others his age. By the Starks rule he was shown how to walk the path of a “just” lord and to scorn the paths of cruelty. He’d taken to embrace the free time he’d earn to spend within the confines of the Godswood, a small sanctuary amidst the storm. In the practice yard his hand grew to favor the caressing haft of an axe over any other tool of pain, though the bruises he earned were many.
Years blurred by, life became a routine of uneventfulness apart from the occasional hunts and small feasts. Eventually when he became of age his hand was bound and wed to that of Dacey Stark, within Winterfell before the Old Gods to witness the pact. An attempt to suture old wounds, to mend the wrongs of yesterdays brothers. United, the two departed the heart of the north and set course for home, for the Dreadfort. Within a years passing a young girl would be born. Still uncertain with his place in the world, Rickard would prepare to embark upon a pilgrimage, to find the answers his soul sought to life.

How do you work? Why do people go to work? Are there any parameters that determine whether you can do work or not? What are they?
I work because I have no choice, that's how the world I was born is and that's how I'm going to live, I admire those who try to change the course of things like a superhero but I'm a mere citizen.
Because people have dreams and goals and they can't achieve what they want without money unless they're lucky enough to be born into an elite family, if so they won the lucky roulette wheel of life.
I don't work well in heavy environments, I survived only 1 day in a factory because a woman keep screaming at me, everyone tried to convince me to try harder but I was feeling to overwhelmed.
How do you determine the quality of work? How do you determine the quality of a purchase? Do you pay any attention to it
Result.
I'm a bit picky with the quality of my stuff, especially the fabric of my clothes. It's because of comfort but also for aesthetics.
There is a professional next to you. How do you know they are a professional? How do you evaluate their skill?
They get the job done on time and well done. I don't think there's only one way to do things, we are all taught in a certain way but then we also adapt, we end up creating our own way of doing things that work for us.

It depends, I usually learn by trying until it works but I can't always use this technique so I seek tutorials or ask for help.
Definitely, I'm very paranoid about my job, I hate feeling incompetent. If I have the conditions and knowledge to take the initiative to do something at work, I'll do it, but if I'm insecure then I'd rather stay quiet I don't want to mess things up.

I like easy jobs, constant stress is not for me. Easy, the money, the free time I will have, the responsibilities (few I expect) and the effort.

Logic to me is something that makes sense, when your actions and words are coherent and when you take into account all the factors to make a correct decision. Contrary to what the Alphas may believe, Logic is not coldness, in fact, to be completely logical you have to take the emotions of others and your own into account, otherwise you are just emotionally unavailable. For example, killing half the population just because someone killed your cat is not logical, you're actually being driven just by emotions.
What is hierarchy? Give examples of hierarchies. Do you need to follow it? Why or why not? Explain how hierarchy is used in a system you are familiar with.
In short, it's when you're on the first floor and need to climb the stairs to get to the second, you may be able to pay someone to build an elevator to get up there faster, or you can't afford it and you have to overcome all the conditions, shortness of breath, pain in your legs, the stairs that are old and falling apart...
Hierarchy is something natural and will always exist, no matter how much you hate it, the world is not a fair place and there will always be someone eating fried chicken in a lamborghini at the expense of a child who makes clothes for shein.
If you're ambitious you have to do it, but if you're like me who just want to have money to live a "basic life", then you don't need to climb so many stairs, just the necessary ones.

I'm usually an introspective person, so even when my ideas are incoherent I think about them at some point and "correct" the incoherence, unless I'm really emotional I think that during those moments no one is coherent.

Usually no, first of all I don't like to force anyone to do anything because I don't like to be forced either, second that I'm not good at forcing people especially strangers and it's the main reason to have been bullied and still have problems with people walking over me.
What I do is that I tell the advantages of doing something the way I want or admit that it would be convenient for me.
What can happen is when I do something for a person over and over again and they never reciprocate, and there is when I can be a manipulative and childish (passive-agressive)
How do you deal with opposition? What methods do you use to defend your interests?
It depends on the situation, I react badly if it's the example I gave earlier. If someone starts trying to control me indirectly, I can react two ways, or I play dumb for the sake of peace or the manipulation goes directly against my interests and in that case I walk away (with strangers) or protest (people close to me).
When do you think it's ok to occupy someone's space? Do you recognize it?
When they occupy yours is the only situation I can think of right now.

I don't know what others think.
It depends if it's about something I'm sure I want, for example a lot of people say I'm crazy for wanting to leave the country but I made that choice for myself and that's what I'm going to do, if I don't change my mind until then (which usually doesn't happen). Otherwise I think I can be seen as lazy, I need a very strong motivation that comes from myself.
How do you satisfy your physical senses? What examples can you give? What physical experiences are you drawn to?
I really like hot baths and pleasant smells. I'm a bit paranoid about my own smell, I'm always putting on deodorant for example.
On the other hand I'm not very good with my internal health, I have to force myself to remember to drink water and food is optional, I don't usually eat breakfast and especially at work I only eat salty snacks or soup most time. I tend to eat more when I want to be greedy or have food available, if I have to do it then I don't eat or I make something simple. I have a friend who judges me for it (I think she has strong Si).
I like some extreme activities, for example I've done canoeing which I loved and every summer I go to the scariest carousels at the fair, I feel free.
How do you find harmony with your environment? How do you build a harmonious environment? What happens if this harmony is disturbed?
I like quiet environments where everyone is genuinely fine and not pretending, so if any of my friends are feeling bad I try to help them. I also like to go to beautiful places with friends or alone like organize a picnic, go to a waterfall...
What does comfort mean to you? How do you create it?
Being in a place alone where I don't need to be anxious all the time, where I can let my guard down, eat sushi while listening to the sound of the rain in warm pajamas and under my blanket creating some fake scenario on my head.
How do you express yourself in your hobbies? How do you engage yourself with those things?
When I was a kid I tried to start playing piano but I dind't last long because It requires a long time to get results and I didn't want to practice at home. I prefer simpler hobbies without commitments, for example playing video games, painting, reading books, and trying new hobbies.
I'd really like to start trying to go to craft classes, but short classes to then be able to try another one until maybe I find one that suits me.
Tell us how you'd design any room, house or an office. Do you do it yourself, or trust someone else to do it? Why?
If I had the money I would call someone to take care of the big part, I would tell them exactly what I want, then I would just take care of the details.

That's not a question of being acceptable or not, emotions can't always be controlled, you never know what someone is going through behind the scenes.
But I admit that I prefer people who don't show emotions in an dramatic way, for example in my work there are a lot of people who start screaming and who are clearly exaggerating and I have to control myself not to laugh.
I'm mostly touched by people who are more reserved with their emotions because I identify with them.

I never had emotional support so I like to deal with my emotions alone.
I don't know if I consider myself a very emotional person , I have my moments where I start crying for many different reasons because I kept a lot of things inside me, I also have days where I'm in a very bad mood without knowing why and I start being mean to close people.
I'm a very private person, I don't like exaggerated demonstrations, a lot of "i love you" and compliments make me bored and seem fake.
Are you able to change your demeanor in order to interact with your environment in a more or less suitable way? How do you determine what is suitable?
These questions make me think that I don't know myself that well.
I think so, I know how to dress up and not talk about inappropriate things even if I make some mistakes, like smiling in the middle of a funeral because my colleague told a joke or showing involuntary annoyance when someone try to do a lot of small talk with me.
In what situations do you feel others' feelings? Can you give examples of when you wanted to improve the mood of others?
I am fickle in many aspects of my life, empathy is one of them, sometimes I have a lot and sometimes I don't have any. It really depends on my relationship with people and how much I like their personality. I'm very suspicious of other people's motives.
My father doesn't usually cry a lot and he's not manipulative at all. I suspect he's a Lse or sli, so when he cries I know it's real and it affects me, in other hand my mother is manipulative and when she starts crying I always think it's fake or that she deserves it (maybe she is a iei).

Complicated, I wouldn't say I'm completely blind to how others feel about me, but I'm definitely very pessimistic and because of that I like to be reassured about what my loved ones think about me.
I'm very suspicious of others and sometimes I start overthinking that everyone hates me or wants to hurt me. As soon as a friend has a more negative reaction, sometimes because of their own problems that have nothing to do with me, I get hurt or I start trying to guess what they are thinking about me and as you can imagine it's almost always negative. Although now I'm starting to try to be less negative because you never know what others are thinking or feeling.
How do you determine how much you like or dislike someone else? How does this affect your relationships?
By personality, values, way of seeing the world, I like people I identify whit and I can trust. People with character that I consider dubious I try to not interact.
I have a very small group because I have a set pattern, at the same time they are different obviously but what unites us is that we are all very open-minded and we don't like to meddle in other people's lives.
How do you move from a distant relationship to a close one? What are the distinguishing characteristics of a close relationship?
We start talking, I like what they are about and it's that simple. Sometimes it takes me 3 months to consider someone a friend, other times I only see the person 3 times and I already know I can trust them.
It has happened once that I stayed in a "friendship" because I wanted company at school, but I stopped seeing him as a friend and started seeing him as an acquaintance.
How do you know that you are a moral person? Where do you draw your morality from? Do you believe others should share your beliefs on what's moral? Why?
I am a moral person in my own criteria. There are people who follow the morality of religion, others follow the morality of a group... Some of them I consider wrong and stupid, but I just don't make friends with these people and it's as simple as that.
The only thing that everyone should do is to respect others because it made life easier for everyone and it's such a simple thing if everyone does it.
Someone you care about is acting distant to you. How do you know when this attitude is a reflection of your relationship?
I don't know, it depends on the situation.
But I try not to take it personally (don't mean that I don't take it, on the contrary but I try to suppress it). What I do is that I ask what happened or i leave them alone. I don't like is chasing after others so I've ended friendships without knowing why, the person just stops talking to me and I take that as a sign.

How can you tell someone has the potential to be a successful person? What qualities make a successful person and why?
I would say that one of the things is to have the ability to always be ahead of others, to have that special touch that some people have.
Where would you start when looking for a new hobby? How do you find new opportunities and how do you choose which would be best?
I already have ideas of hobbys that I want to try, so I would look in my internal library and choose the one that I felt like doing. I like manual and simple activities (I'm not an artist) I've done canoeing and I don't hate extreme activities, but I don't think it's considered a hobby and I don't know if I would do it that often either.
How do you interpret the following statement: "Ideas don't need to be feasible in order to be worthwhile." Do you agree or disagree, and why?
Ideas have to start somewhere, at first they may not make sense, but then when more ideas come up and they are molded, they can become a possibility. Or maybe people just want to come up with crazy ideas and that's okay too.

I didn't make any connection, unlike the guy I took this questionnaire from. I just read the sentences and nothing else.
How would you summarize the qualities that are essential to who you are? What kind of potential in you has yet to be actualized and why?
The part that I fear the most, having to describe myself even more with qualities (gives me the impression that I'm bragging). This is going to feel more like a list than a text, sorry for the disappointment. I'm faithful, I like to make people's lives easier (if they haven't done me wrong), I strive to do what I promised, I hate being in debt.
I definitely have to improve my charisma and try to get along with new people more until I get used to it and don't get so bored.

Everything changes people, the personality you have today was the result of all the moments of your life and also of your brain (parts more or less developed and this also affects).
We're always changing every day, it's just that we're so used to the changes that sometimes we don't even notice it.
Sometimes I go through a similar situation that has happened before and I see how much I have changed in the way I deal with the problem.
How do you feel and experience time? Can time be wasted? How?
I think time is the most powerfyl weapon, you learn to deal with things with time, time brings peace but also chaos, time makes life evolve both positively and negatively, time kills you but also brings life. Time is truly the most important thing there is, when a certain moment passes you can no longer go back and fix things.
It all depends on the point of view, today you can consider it something important but later you see that it was a waste of time, the important thing to keep in mind is to think about the future because what has already happened cannot be changed.

Language is limiting, you can indulge feelings in others through sentences but you are never sure how others will interpret it.
I would say feelings and experience is one of the things, you have to go through them and let others go through too.
How do you anticipate events unfolding? How can you observe such unfoldments in your environment?
I don't really know, I think from what has already happened, from the people involved, from myself.
I sometimes tend to try to predict things and I like to be prepared for all eventualities because it makes me feel safer, but I also know that predictions are not 100% certain. I've missed opportunities because of this.
In what situations is timing important? How do you know the time is right to act? How do you feel about waiting for the right moment ?
It depends on when I've decided it's time to act.
I'll use the example of my driver's license, I started getting my license 1 year before the end of school but then I decided to finish school first to focus on my license after (also out of laziness I admit). My parents bothered me a lot because I needed to get the license but I only did it when I saw that I needed it to work and I couldn't leave it for later anymore (can expire). It was a bad choice, but I needed a reason to have motivation.
