SMT V: Vengeance is a very hard, strange and interesting JRPG, it has some dark themes that make it stand out from the majority of games on this genre.
The game features a monster catching system(more like demon catching in this case) that enables you to recruit, improve and fuse demons that you find everywhere. It is very unique because for you to recruit them you have to chat with them, and sometimes it doesn't work like you expected, the demons may not want to join you or maybe they even want to trick you into giving them something and just vanishing after, the outcomes are very funny sometimes.
The newer version improves the game in many ways, it has a lot of QOL features, but the biggest difference is a totally new campaign, since most fans thought it was the weakest point of the original version.

Why Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance?
I'm a very big JRPG fan and have been for many years, I like many of the old ones and also newer ones, but I'm specificaly found of the ATLUS games like the SMT and Persona series. They have such a personality that you can always be sure that they are made by ATLUS the moment you see a frame of it.
I have been waiting to play this game since 2021 when it released, since I don't have a Nintendo Switch, but it feels like even more time and I'm sure it will be worth it.

Why can't I buy it?
All games are very expensive here, I live in a small town in Brazil, a country in which the AAA games cost R$ 300(our currency is called Real) or even more, and the minimum wage is R$ 1.412, so it costs a big % of the minimum wage, it's absurd. I am a photographer who is still trying to make a living of it, I had many jobs before but some fired me and some I just could not keep up because they had a huge tow on my mental state. From my experience the only job that could maintain me without destroying my mental is photography, I just love it, and I took too long to realise that I could do something important with it.But the point is that not only AAA games, but all game prices here went up really fast on the last few years, and it's impossible to keep up with it. I am struggling at the moment to acomplish my objectives professionaly, and I believe that this game may make my days a little easier.
But the most important reason why I can't buy it is that my city right now is going through the biggest natural catastrophe the country has ever seen. I live in Pelotas, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and we have many cities very close that were completely vanished because of a flood, and I mean that literally, some cities will now cease to exist because everything was consumed by water. The situation here is sad, we have never seen something of that magnitude in our lives, if you want to have an idea just search about it and watch some videos, it's devastating...
Now my city is also starting to suffer because of the flood, I think my house is probably safe for now, but now I can't even work, nobody can do anything until this passes, and even after that, we will have to deal with the problems that will appear. Some people lost everything they had, some people lost their family, their pets, the whole country is trying to help but there is no way to really stop it now.
So I basically just want this game to keep me sane during these dark times that we are living here, I know it will not make life easier, but it might bring me a little more joy so I can face the problems in a better shape than I am right now.

I'm 19 now. I met my ex friend around 2 years ago? So when I was 17. He was a year younger.
Trigger warning: SI/SH/SA
My ex friend was a covert narcissist (a narcissist that hides under insecurity and a need for validation, while their abusive tendencies and lack of empathy remains the same.)
I stood up for him, so much. I tried to validate him, I tried to please him but it was never enough. Even though I’ve been abused twice by narcissists, I never saw it coming.
And the reason I didn't catch it, is because when we first met, he said he had autism. So I trusted him, because he said he was always honest, and because he blamed his toxic tendencies on autism. He seemed so sad, and I wanted to support him. I left friends for him, I stood up for him when people talked bad about him.
To be clear, I'm not being ableist towards autistic people. This is not because of him not understanding social cues or anything like that. The main reason why I left him was because he called himself the "worst kind of narcissist" and even after I told him that was offensive to victims of abuse he just said, “oh.” Like I'm not even joking that was his exact response.
And when I tried to help him (I thought he was gaslighting himself) and my followers who might feel the same way (by making posts about how victims can gaslight themselves into thinking they're the abuser, by talking about narcissism and my own experiences with abuse,) he got really mad and told me "I suspect I have NPD,” and “the only reason why you posted that was because of me, the mere fact that you posted that shows that you look down on me, you have been extremely rude blah blah blah.” Notice that I do not cite him feeling offended by the content of what I posted, because he never said anything about that at all. Is it possible? Sure. But I am sick of feeling like I have to read his mind, I know now that it’s because of his toxic behaviors and manipulation.
I left him after that because he knew I had trauma from abuse, and he’s never been sensitive to that throughout our entire friendship.
I’ll call my ex-friend narcissist to spare myself the drama if he ever finds out what I posted. (He has 30,000 followers online and most of our mutual friends openly sided with him.)
This was a pattern with him. The way he acted whenever he was corrected, it was never an apology, it was him or his friend changing the subject. Oftentimes instead of apologizing he would start to nitpick what others did, like calling others “bad at writing,” and saying stuff like “I'm a better writer than all of you!” These toxic traits are not intrinsic to autism, and are clearly narcissism, right?
I would bring up more examples but obviously I can’t remember them all.
Many of the things he would say were really offensive and degrading towards me, even in group chats, but he would hide it behind a “joke.” None of his friends defended me because they clearly enable him or just didn’t believe me when I say he treated me like sh*t.
But anyways, here are some of the wonderful things he’s said:
“KS” (he knew that I have struggled with MDD and sal ideation for a long time. And he even said it himself, “I shouldn’t say that, (my name) would actually do it.” And he didn’t stop after that. He says this as a joke to a lot of scidal people. I never thought he wouldn’t actually care if I did or not, because I never expected such blatant cruelty from anyone.)
“Your mom isn’t that bad.” (I talked about my experiences with abuse with him on multiple occasions. She puts on a smile and is nice to visitors but she has prevented me from going in-patient when I was actively s*cidal amongst other things. He knew that she basically allowed me to strve myself etc. while calling me “ungrateful” and “selfish” when I didn’t perform well enough in school due to the abuse.)
This next one is so clearly awful, that it’s actually funny that he thinks it was okay to say.
“Me and his mom <3” and “I miss your mom’s cooking so much.” (He said this in a group chat full of strangers to me. After I reminded him I was abused by her, he said, “hate the artist not the art.”)
“Get therapy!” (After I told him about my experience with sual trauma. He has some himself, so it’s possible he was triggered. But we had another mutual friend who would talk about that stuff and would talk about s and he never had a problem with it.)
“Ped*phile” (I used to have a crush on him,) (I’m only a year older, so 17-18) he thought this was a funny joke to make in a group chat full of strangers.
“I want your shirt. Take it off” (I said I'm not wearing anything underneath, and he said “I don’t see a problem with that.” That was in public, I barely knew him at that point.)
“I hate you” and many other things along those lines.
“Get a job!” And “be my sugar daddy” (again, in a group chat full of strangers. I couldn’t get a job due to my eczema which was oftentimes a 10 on the pain scale!)
Some of these things, I didn’t have a problem with back then, because I have never been treated well and didn’t have any sense of self-worth. So I never said anything about it and blamed myself for being "oversensitive"
His actions didn’t really ever show love for me, besides public hugs and affection. He would frequently respond to texts dryly and I just kept talking to him because I thought that was just his thing. I really did have a lot of love for him, but I realize now that that was just my desire for him to stop breadcrumbing me.
Much of my life was me viewing bullying and abuse as “they just struggle with showing that they care in healthy ways.” But the bullying would be things like “I bet she sits her wrists” and “you look like you’re on the verge of s*cide.” (While laughing, of course.)
He said it himself, that he was jealous of me and the fact that I was skinny and passed well as a pre-hormone therapy trans guy. We’re both trans. (I don’t know how people in this subreddit feel about that, but please separate your opinions on that from me. Please focus on the fact that we’re all victims of narcissistic abuse.)
I also have an eating disorder like him, and he would say stuff like “it can’t be as bad as mine because you're skinny.” And like… he knows my body image issues have to do with size and he would size up in public and make me feel short and small when he knew I was insecure about that. He made me feel worthless while calling me handsome in public!
While I was friends with him, the second I did anything that offended him or made him feel an “ick” he would be VERY aggressive about asserting his perspective and would not give any leniency to me.
Some of the things I did to give him the “ick” were jokes I made. I'm warning you though it's really weird and probably very out of place for this subreddit 😅
So I would draw things based on dumb memes like Sonic x Pikachu (as a joke, and he knew that it wasn't my idea, he saw the original meme.) I sent him a video once of like worms on a string bondage (it was a satire/skit not graphic/not like corn) when he asked for drawing ideas and he liked the video I sent him, so I drew his character like that and later he cites that as a reason why he avoided me. When he literally acted exactly the same when it happened and kept talking to me as normal. He also didn't like that I took a screenshot of something that was extremely unfortunate. Like on Instagram there's "notes" which is a new feature that shows everyone's notes lined up. And sometimes they end up next to each other in a very unfortunate way. Basically I had posted his dog's name in all caps 4 times, and my friend had posted "I wanna get him pregnant." (Not intentionally.) And you can guess how that went. Like he took that the wrong way but he never said anything and he acted the same way for months! And it wasn't his autism, because I did clarify that it was a joke, and he has literally no reason to believe that because I have always been a very open advocate for victims of SA, women's rights, like I've never once been that type of person. I literally stood up for him so many times because people called him a creep, I've left so many friends bc they bullied others (one friend was even being blamed for r*pe threats!) and he still “believed” that, knowing that.
And to be perfectly clear- this is what he said to me: “I was just icked out, I never thought you actually meant any of it," also "You seem to have calmed down a bit, and now I can enjoy my time with you even more than before!" But at the same time he was like "I avoided you" "I didn't want to be friends with you" and just he didn't give off a "maybe I misunderstood" impression. He gave off a "my way or the highway impression." I don't have the screenshots anymore because I deleted our chat, but I remember having a panic attack and thinking about s**cide afterwards. Whatever he said, he made me feel like such an awful, disgusting person.
He also said he thought I was “on something.” (I kinda was)
I was really medicated at the time, (around a year ago??) My meds made me both extremely tired and impulsive (trazodone and prozac.)
And to top it all off, he constantly said stuff like "I'm not a good person" and like?? Why would you think that's okay unless it's self deprication, unless you are an awful person (as I've realized recently.)
Like whenever he makes an offensive joke, it’s always “It’s just a harmless joke! Don’t be so sensitive” and whenever someone else does, he either ghosts you, avoids you, gives no hint about what you've done, or he treats you like you’re the worst person in the world and he’s giving you God's grace by telling you what you did wrong. He also makes a lot of "I'm a god" "I'm an angel" type jokes. I thought it was sarcasm before but honestly after this?
The kinds of things I would do were heavily influenced by him and our mutual friend group's behavior. I copied what they did because I had little to no social experience due to bullying and isolation. I literally never had friends before I turned 17. Save for maybe one. (Who I also kept at a distance because I was s***dal and didn't want to hurt them when I followed through.)
And back to the most recent thing he did (which gave me a panic attack and landed me in a psych ward)
The way he approached me about the posts about narcissism I made to help him and others was so accusatory and passive aggressive. (This was after the "worst kind of narcissist joke) Then his friend texted the GC saying “(my name) check your dms” so another act of passive aggression. This friend was the main enabler who’s logic honestly makes no sense to me. She’s like, “it’s fine for him to make that joke, it’s not his job to come out about having narcissism if he doesn't want to, blah blah blah, diagnoses are hard to get.” Like genuinely wtf. Dropping the f slur in the closet is not okay just because you're secretly gay. Like don't make jokes about things you're not willing to be out about. Okay and even ignoring that, it's still so fcking offensive even if he is a narcissist because that’s like a pedfile joking about abusing children.
And the fact he just said “oh.” after I told him it was offensive. Not “I suspect I have npd” or “I'm sorry that was insensitive.” His response was so vague, a blatant lack of effort and empathy, and genuinely I don't think someone with NPD who actually is trying to change would do that.
Then his friend started following me! Not as an act of friendliness, as a social threat, clearly, as they’ve already established a pattern of passive aggression.
It was clear, that if I removed her as a follower or blocked her I would be the one that looked bad! The same way it would look if I said “huh, I haven’t gotten any dms from you” after she said “hey (my name), check your dms” bc I could have deleted it in requests. Then she could say I was a liar. I was starting to get triggered the second she began blindly defending and making excuses for (narcissist) in the groupchat.
She then began to stalk my story, and when she got to the post about how I wouldn’t be able to go to the convention with them (I didn’t say it, but I was so triggered that I was planning on going to the psych ward!) she sent me the skull and crossbones emoji, which, if you're older, is a laughing emoji to this generation. (Meaning dead from laughter.)
Because of the timing of the follow, I know that (narcissist) has been talking shit. Also because they’re best friends and that's what they do. So I know for a fact now, that his last text “right okay,” was sarcasm. And I block all of them.
One of our mutual friends, who I will call (Redacted) was someone I used to talk to almost daily! (Redacted) unfollows me on tiktok, so I block them too.
I block most associated with the group chat, because as far as I know they don't care about me, they've never texted me or spoken to me before, and they’ve almost always ignored my texts to the group chat anyways. They’re also (narcissist)’s friends, and never stood up for me when it came to his behavior in the GC, and were for the most part silent and praising of him.
Like, genuinely, I'm pretty sure (redacted) saw my private posts about my “I feel so unsafe, I want to die, I want to die.” And they still valued whatever (narcissist) said over me. All that talk about “Ily pooks” and shit was a lie.
For additional context (I know this is getting really long, I'm sorry, I just don’t want to leave any room for people victim-blaming me.)
I also struggle with depression-linked psychosis. Something I also fear he will use against me if I ever come out about his treatment of me publicly (but here we are.) My diagnosis doesn’t necessarily include "breaks from reality" and "not being able to tell what's real and what's not." Psychosis occurs in varying intensities. For me, it's mostly depressive hallucinations and I can tell that they aren't real. Many of my hallucinations are auditory and I have never allowed that to impact the way I viewed or treated others in real life, even if they said horrible things to me. They cause me anxiety but it is manageable for me.
It was steadily getting better for me before they decided to do this shit to me! Now I'm worse off than before, hallucinating daily, while he’s living the life of his dreams, and getting famous online.
He refuses to take accountability and that is a form of manipulation. It works for him. To act stupid and act like he can't empathize. He does it whenever he makes a mistake. He starts nitpicking someone else's behavior no matter the impact it has on others. My issue with them is not just what they did, it’s the fact that they want to socially threaten others into doing their bidding. Like, they didn’t have to bring the group chat into it. They didn’t have to be passive aggressive. They didn’t have to be so accusatory and it doesn’t matter if they have trust issues because honestly they were being a massive dick to someone who was always on their side from day one. (Not anymore!)
What happened to him was “I feel insecure because I think he’s calling me stupid.” So he basically called me an asshole, told me I was being rude, etc. etc. What happened to me though? I attempted twice. I don’t handle gaslighting well. That’s how I was abused. And I’m sick of people telling me it’s not his fault for taking advantage of my lack of self-worth, for taking advantage of someone who he knew to be vulnerable. I’m sick of hearing that I just need to “get therapy” and that I'm “equally as bad” or even that “I'm being overdramatic” etc. They made me relive my trauma from bullying to the point where I was hallucinating almost all-day every day, about them bullying me in the same ways I was bullied back then. I would constantly hear their voices making fun of me, bullying me, etc., or them planning to pull up at my house and attempt vandalism (another trauma that I have.) I have not stopped hallucinating him and his friends to this day. This impacts my ability to eat, sleep, and work. It’s literally torture. And I can hear him right now, saying “well, that's not my fault.” Like yes it is. Believe it or not you’re not entitled to treating your (ex) friends like shit just because you have NPD.
The really bad hallucinations started after everything was over. They don't impact my ability to recall events because again most of my hallucinations are auditory.

Finally finished dexter after a while, I originally started watching it 2 years ago but I dropped it at season 3, got back into it recently and binged the whole thing and wow Season 8.
Bad, just bad. I had heard that dexter apparently goes downhill after season 4 but I really enjoyed season 5, I thought season 6 was OK and I again really enjoyed season 7. But my god I did not enjoy season 8.
I found 8 just kinda boring, the villain sucked, it didn't feel like a final season, Angel had nothing to do and the masuka daughter and quinn sergeant plots went nowhere, and that finale, I won't even go into it cause I don't want my fingers to bleed from typing out all the words on how much I hated it.
I will say I enjoyed the stuff with zach in the middle of the season, I like it when dexter gets an accomplice and I thought he was pretty funny overall.
So yeah, a really unsatisfying ending to an amazing show.

As said in the title, I've finally finished going through all the boys in TDL S3! Though I didn't aim for best ending or anything, I just wanted to see how it would go for each one. (I'm not sure if the photos will post, so apologies if this post will be wonky!) I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, so here's a silly happy rant :) (Hope I flaired this correctly! This is just really me rambling, but very happily lol)
WARNING: Very long! Will also contain spoilers!!

• ROUND 1: Chayun (Normal ending)

This was the VERY first Picka game I've ever played, so I went into this blindingly and didn't really aim for anyone or followed any guides. So as fate had willed, I got Chayun! Maybe that's just my personality projecting onto Seul, lol. And maybe that very first meeting influenced my decisions - I wonder, if I had the date with Gonghyun first, would I shoot for him instead?
Chayun is... SO so cute. There's something really mature and cool about him, you know he can take care of you, and you can't help but be charmed. He's not overly affectionate, but also unafraid to show his feelings. He doesn't play any games (unlike SOME people out there...) and is mostly honest.
My favorite thing about him is how much of a simp he is for Seul. This is the guy whose forbidden word was her name because of how much he said it. This is the guy who unknowingly broke another girl's heart because he can't stop mentioning Seul. Ugh. How do I get a Chayun?
I also don't know why and how, but even when I was aiming for the other guys (and following the guides), he STILL keeps choosing Seul. I thought it was just programmed for him to do so, but I've seen posts where he chose Eunchae, so...? Maybe I just never got over my first love and unconsciously made him feel like Seul still likes him. Ha!
Speaking of first loves...

• ROUND 2: Gonghyun (Bad ending)

SIGH. I originally was going for Sanho next (more details later), but in the last round, I went on the snowball date (?) with Gonghyun and felt SO bad for making him feel like I didn't even consider him. Also, my first date this time was with Gonghyun and I was SOOOO impressed with the whole Busan thing. So I went for him.
Unfortunately, I 1) didn't have enough gold for all the gifts and 2) couldn't keep up with the timing, so I spent less time with him I guess? I missed the Wicka date with him as well as the cocktail bar. But I won every game and even went on a last date with him (which I didn't get to do with Chayun), so I thought, maybe I'll get the normal ending!
WRONG! Fellas, don't go for someone whose first love is still in the picture. Or, if you do, make sure you have enough gold to control everything. EME!
Gonghyun is really considerate and nice, he gives off major "gwapo" vibes, and he would have ticked all the boxes for "green flag of the year". But he also gives off the vibe of someone I could never fall for completely, like if someone asked me for boyfriend recommendations I would mention him, but if someone asked me if I had a crush on him I'd say no.
Or maybe I'm still bitter over not being chosen. Oh well! I don't choose what doesn't choose me, so.

• ROUND 3: Sanho (Normal ending)

I have never been more enamored over a fictional character.
When I first encountered him during Chayun's route, my eyes went all O_O and I was like, "OMG, ATEEZ Choi San what are you doing here?!". That's literally the same name except for the "ho"! He's polite and mature and RELIABLE! Brains and brawn! Cute and younger-brother-like!
And while he's reliable, I want to take care of HIM instead of the other way around. He's consistently sweet, and while he seems innocent, there's a certain depth to how he speaks that shows his introspection. He's honest and earnest, and I really loved how formal he was lol he's definitely my pick for most charming TDL3 man.
My favorite part? Ironically, it was when I was on Chayun's route. I got Sanho for the snowball date, and at that time I was unsure over Chayun because he felt really cold to me. Sanho contrasted that perfectly by being so sweet and warm. "Warm as the sun," indeed.
Another favorite moment was when he carried Gonghyun during their ski trip! I wished there was a way for Seul to join their trip, but I guess that's predetermined. Oh, maybe I didn't really want Gonghyun... I wanted to BE Gonghyun....
Sanho's route was so lovely that I lowkey dreaded (/lh) the next and final one...

• ROUND 4: Seowoo (Best ending) (WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT?!?!?!?)

Sigh. SIGH. The biggest, longest sigh you will ever hear on earth.
At this point, I was getting sick of TDL3, so I decided to try out TDL1. Considering that Jooyul (who I wasn't aiming for in the beginning but eventually liked) and Seowoo were same-age friends with the main character, I thought, "ah this will be more easy-going".
I was wrong. This was the most annoying, most insufferable, and spiciest route. Also I got the bad ending for Jooyul, so I guess easy-going routes just aren't for me.
Seowoo... Like Jeewan said, our cranky boy. He's so in love, but he doesn't want to admit it. Feel free to correct me, but he's always strikes me as someone who loves so deeply that it scares him, that's why he's always pushing Seul away. The weird thing is that the more he does it, the more I keep wanting to choose him? Because I am SURE he likes Seul, he just has to be convinced that Seul will keep choosing him until the end. (Which Sanho also was, but he was more straightforward about it.)
I was slightly enamored with the whole thing about Eunchae. Like, of COURSE they'd have such an agreement. Before this, I was really rooting for the two of them because the pairing was so weird. In local terms, there's the OA (Eunchae) and the nonchalant (Seowoo).
But I am on his route, so he's mine this time, and he WILL get sick of me!!!
My favorite part was, well, everything. At least, all the dates. He's so annoying and endearing that I have to spend a few minutes ranting into the chat after it's been deactivated. I wish his ending had him returning to Seul's house, like what Chayun did in their NORMAL ending. I get that he's shy about the song, but maybe Seul's final decision could have convinced him that Seul is safe enough for him to fall completely for? Well... I guess this is what fanfiction is for. • Additional thoughts

It's a shame the paths are all for heterosexual pairings. I would have loved going for all the girls - Jeewan was so cool, Eunchae never failed to make me smile, and Bohwa was such a darling!! Though, do we think she has special connections to the admin of the program? Weirdly timed messages, the girls date at her shop? Or maybe she's just too charming to turn down~
Sanho and Seowoo would be a funny ship, lol. Seowoo being his usual cranky, pakipot self, and Sanho surprising him by being all firm and assertive.
Chayun and Gonghyun... Our knights and nobles... An unlikely pairing, but they're so similar that they might work??
Gonghyun is freaking hilarious. He keeps choosing Seul when I DON'T pick him. Baliw.
I think I was meant to find this game, because the characteristics of my ideal type were found in each of the love interests, so every route was fun. I started with someone who can only look at me, and ended with someone who wrote a song about me - two things that will surely make my heart flutter in real life. I only just realized these things while playing, so I guess it was an eye-opener too!
Now, I will be taking a break from all things TDL until I save up enough gold to open a slot to save Seowoo's ending. I am too lazy to do the extra tasks and too poor to actually buy it. In the meantime, I'm playing Friends Booth and thinking of which boy to target next in TDL1. I want to try for Euntae, but I am so sad about Jooyul's outcome that I want to redo his route, and this time with the guide (I tried following my instinct, as with Chayun). Sigh! Maybe I'll just go with Doha for the funsies.

My entire life I have pretended to enjoy these films because everyone else seems to. Not once have they ever made me laugh. The humour just feels like an less funny, watered down version of "epic random XD" late 2000's internet humour. I have many friends who swear they love it, but I think its because their parents love it. I genuinely don't see how these older generations actually cackle and howl at the jokes - I have been to movie nights where they genuinely are shrieking with laughter. It is baffling. It just isn't that funny.
I find that the memes stemming from the movies are far funnier than the original jokes ever could have been. The only time I have ever found it slightly bemusing is the very mild political humousatire of the People's Front for Judea vs the Judean People's Front, and the anarcho-communist peasant. Most of the time, it genuinely feels like watching the 3 Stooges - outdated, boring, unfunny, embarrassing, mildly annoying, compounded by the pathetic feeling that you are expected to be enjoying this historical "titan of comedy".

As much as I'd like Kath to go solo this is still something to look forward to. It's also funny that in exchange of KN supposedly movie they change it with KathDen movie instead and still directed by Direk Cathy.
Nakakatuwa ang SM for still coming up with a project for Kath since hindi tuloy yung with EX so she still have 3 movies base on the original plan.

Speculation: Not sure about this one other than the family in Ozark were right on the line of legality when it came to what they were doing, essentially they were money laundering and in the end it cost them their family. Description: This is the epic reveal in fight club and DFV has replaced a lot of the words. In the original scene, if you haven't watched fight club, the main protagonist has put the pieces together to realise that he himself is actually the same person as the other protagonist in the film and it was him alone that accidentally setup a sort of movement against the financial elite. In this clip DFV plays off the two characters between DFV and Roaring Kitty.
Speculation: Roaring Kitty was the twitter handle and Youtube profile for Keith Gill where he would speculate on the stock because he just loved doing it. DFV was the reddit handle where he is associated to that other sub i can't mention here but you know where i mean. I think that DFV is saying that what started as a fun speculation of the stock became something bigger than himself with his other channel in DFV on reddit. Now the wheels have moved and in the film it ends with the financial institutions being blown up, perhaps something similar metaphorically is already in place right now. It's actually a great analogy from DFV about his situation.

I was in elementary and middle school throughout the original run of the show. I remember after school I would come home and flip through the TV and it would be on air sometimes, but I never watched the show because it wasn't really appealing at the time. I just new it was popular and some girls in my grade loved it and watched it with their moms or big sister.
It's funny because I decides to binge it last year and completely fell in love with it. What's funnier is what I use to think of the show and what the actually story line is so different. I use to think the mom (Lorelai) was a woman with loose morals, and she would just sleep around and was tragic in love (last part is kinda true though, lol) - but she had this hard-working responsible daughter who would have to deal with all her mother's antics. I thought Rory would be the voice of reason, and kind of played a mother role to Lorelai. Of course watching it now, I could argue Rory had more problems than Lorelai. Also, I remember thinking all the characters were extremely sarcastic in all the scenes from the few minutes of the show I would catch, but it's much more toned down when you watch the whole episode.
Well anyways, I'm curious to know what you though of the show before you properly watch it? What did you think of the characters before you got to know them like Luke? I didn't even know Christopher would be in the show, I just thought Lorelai was a single mom and Rory's dad was just never in the show.

Well the last post I made was about leaving this franchise untill it got animated further. However that was a mistake. So I started reading. From the quality and intensity of the fights, I guess that won't be possible for a long while. The only problem that I have now, is that no original OST is around to read the manga with.

• He is joining from France.
• He thinks his bellhop role is in season 2. When corrected that it’s season 1, he says “excuse-moi” (in his French accent).
• Young cast him because he was nice and easy on the set.
• His son is also on the video. His son’s name is Gautier. His son makes a bunch of funny faces and hand signs throughout the interview.
• His agent would tell him you don’t need to meet the casting director, for auditions in general. Gail wanted to meet them anyways, because he wanted to meet as many people as possible.
• The original season 1 pilot was 2 hours. Rosin passed. It was eventually trimmed to 90 minutes, and about 30 minutes of music videos were cut. Aaron Spelling then wanted to meet him, after the pilot was trimmed. Rosin took the meeting.
• Aaron Spelling did not want to have a season in college. There was a lot of anxiety about the format changing after high school.
• The first two to three episodes of Melrose Place got a higher rating than Beverly Hills, 90210. They convinced the president of FOX, Lucie Salhany,
• Gautier has now taken out a puppet. The entire podcast starts laughing, except for Gail, who doesn’t know what’s happening behind him.
• Rosin then promises FOX that they’re going to have Brenda elope, and that will be the number 1 show that week.
• There was a lot of pressure at this time.
• Young kept waiting for more details about the elopement plot line to emerge.

• During season 4, when Gail was offered the role of Stuart, he asked how they could bring him back as a different character.
• Rosin said at the time, he didn’t think people were watching the show that closely. He didn’t know that there would be dedicated fans like there are today.
• Rosin and Young wanted Gail because everyone had liked Gail from before. Young says she had known him from before, and trusted him.
• Young had reminded Rosin of what Gail had done before, in season 1.
• When Gail went into the Spelling office for this season 4 audition, and saw all of the producers lined up, he was intimidated. Gail had to use psychological tricks like telling himself to breathe. Don’t start when they start, but start when you want to start. Wait until you are in that character.
• Gail cannot walk into an audition and just start being in character. He has to be David Gail first. Meaning he has to say hi to everyone as David Gail first. Then he can get in character.
• Rosin says one of Aaron Spelling’s biggest strengths was casting.
• The first time Rosin heard Aaron Spelling say that his strength was casting, Rosin thought that was BS. But, overtime, Rosin agreed that Aaron Spelling was that good.
• Aaron Spelling knew Julia Roberts was going to be a star, when he saw her in Mystic Pizza.
• David Gail’s son somehow appears on screen, upside down, from the top of the camera. Gail has to shoo his son away again.
• During season 2, Doherty had a boyfriend in Chicago named Chris Lupus. He was wealthy. So Rosin created a character that reminded him of that boyfriend, in Stuart.
• Gail says the plot was fun.
• Gail likes how Stuart was spoiled and possibly dealing drugs. He said it’s more fun to play a character like that.

• Young went through a lot of resumes with pictures for this character. She had put Mark Damon Espinoza aside. After a few days, she kept going back to his picture. He didn’t have a lot of credits. She wanted to meet him.

• Mollin didn’t like the casting at first. He’s grown to love Espinoza. Mollin says the character worked.

• As soon as Young saw Kathleen Robertson, Young knew she had to pay close attention.
• She was easy to work with. She wasn’t nervous.
• Robertson had a unique hat. Mollin and Rosin noticed it. They used that same hat in her character’s intro scene.

• Aaron Spelling had accidentally sent out a cast renewal to Shannen Doherty. Lou Patrick saw that and alerted Rosin. It had already been decided by this point that Doherty wasn’t coming back. They were able to stop that from getting to Doherty.
• Young had hired Nicholas Pryor before on another show. He was professional.
• Young: Christine Belford (Samantha Sanders), Pryor’s wife, was a good actress.
• Kelly McDonald, Young’s assistant, met with actors for D’Shawn Hardell. She was the one that recommended Cress Williams to Young. He was very new.

• Young: Noley Thornton (Erica) was wonderful. She had seen her from “The Martin Short Show”.
• They had to make a lot of arrangements to get her from one set to another, because she was on both shows. But child actors have some limitations.
• One time, they were praying Thornton would be able to make it, because The Martin Short Show was running long.
• Kerrie Keane (Suzanne) didn’t know that there was going to be a scam.
• When Jessica Klein pitched the scam story to Aaron Spelling, Spelling thought the audience would know right away. He didn’t think the scam would work. Rosin had to promise that no one would see it coming, by the end.
• Rosin likes how he can talk to actors that come on the podcast now, because he was never able to do it when the show was being made. Jason Carter (Roy Randolph) is one such example.
• Young says there were a lot of British actors, at the time, because there was a lot of work in Los Angeles. And they were paid more here, then in British Television.
• Young had met Paul Johannson (John Sears) before.
• He was one of Jason Priestley’s friends.
• David Sherrill (Jack Canner) was another one of Priestley’s friends.
• Young would tell Priestley why one of his friends would or would not get the role.
• Young loves Brook Theiss (Leslie Sumner). She had met Theiss on Growing Pains, and Just The Ten Of Us. She was such a joh to be around. Young also introduced Theiss’ husband to her.
• Young likes Theiss so much, that she would cast her for something right now if she could.
• Young does not remember Kari Wuhrer (Ariel Hunter).
• Young remembers Matthew Perreta (Dan Rubin) a little.
• Young does not remember the Minnesota girls.
• Young loves Jed Allen (Rush Sanders). His acting was similar to Ian Ziering’s. She saw it right away that he was Steve Sander’s dad.
• Ryan Thomas Brown (Muntz) was easy to work with.
• Young had known Zachary Throne (Howard) from before.
