§ 10.31 Entry; bond.
(a)
(1) Entry of articles brought into the United States temporarily and claimed to be exempt from duty under Chapter 98, Subchapter XIII, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), unless covered by an A.T.A. carnet or a TECRO/AIT carnet as provided in part 114 of this chapter, shall be made on Customs Form 3461 or 7533, supported by the documentation required by § 142.3 of this chapter. However, when § 10.36 or § 10.36a is applicable, or the aggregate value of the article is not over $250, the form prescribed for the informal entry of importations by mail, in baggage, or by other means, may be used. When entry is made on Customs Form 3461 or 7533, an entry summary, Customs Form 7501, shall be filed within 10 days after time of entry, in accordance with subpart B, part 142 of this chapter.
(2) If Customs Form 7501, or its electronic equivalent, is filed at time of entry, it shall serve as both the entry and entry summary, and Customs Form 3461, or its electronic equivalent, or 7533 shall not be required. Customs Form 7501, or its electronic equivalent, shall be in original only, except for entries under subheading 9813.00.05, HTSUS, which require a duplicate copy for statistical purposes. When articles are entered under an A.T.A. carnet or a TECRO/AIT carnet, the importation voucher of the carnet shall serve as the entry.
(3) In addition to the data usually shown on a regular consumption entry summary, each temporary importation bond entry summary shall include:
(i) The HTSUS subheading number under which entry is claimed.
(ii) A statement of the use to be made of the articles in sufficient detail to enable the Center director to determine whether they are entitled to entry as claimed, and
(iii) A declaration that the articles are not to be put to any other use and that they are not imported for sale or sale on approval.
(b) The port director, if he is satisfied as to the importer's identity and good faith, may admit a vehicle or craft brought in by a nonresident to take part in a race or other specific contest for which no money purse is awarded, under the provisions of subheading 9813.00.35, HTSUS, without formal entry or security for exportation. If at the time of arrival it appears that the article is likely to remain in the United States beyond 90 days, formal entry and bond shall be taken.
(c) When any article has been admitted without formal entry or security for exportation and the importer thereafter desires to prolong his stay beyond 90 days, an entry covering the article and security for its exportation shall be accepted at any port where the article may be presented for entry. The time during which the imported article may remain in the United States under the entry shall be computed from the date of its original arrival in the United States. The estimated duties for the purpose of fixing the amount of any bond required by paragraph (f) of this section shall be the estimated duties which would have been required to be deposited had the article been entered under an ordinary consumption entry on the date of the original arrival.
(d) [Reserved]
(e) The entry or invoice shall:
(1) Describe each article in detail;
(2) set forth the value of each article; and
(3) set forth any marks or numbers thereon or other distinguishing features thereof. In the case of a vehicle, aircraft, or pleasure boat entered under subheading 9813.00.05, HTSUS and § 10.36a, the registration number, and engine or motor number, and the body number (if available) shall also be shown on the entry. Examination of the imported articles shall be made whenever the circumstances warrant, and occasionally in any event to an extent which will enable the Customs officer to determine that the importation is in agreement with the invoice or entry as to identity and quantity and for the purpose of accepting the entry under the applicable provisions of Chapter 98, Subchapter XIII, HTSUS. No examination for the purpose of appraisement and no appraisement of the articles shall be made.
(f) With the exceptions stated herein, a bond shall be given on CBP Form 301, containing the bond conditions set forth in § 113.62 of this chapter, in an amount equal to double the duties, including fees, which it is estimated would accrue (or such larger amount as the Center director shall state in writing or by the electronic equivalent to the entrant is necessary to protect the revenue) had all the articles covered by the entry been entered under an ordinary consumption entry. In the case of samples solely for use in taking orders entered under subheading 9813.00.20, HTSUS, motion-picture advertising films entered under subheading 9813.00.25, HTSUS, and professional equipment, tools of trade and repair components for such equipment or tools entered under subheading 9813.00.50, HTSUS, the bond required to be given shall be in an amount equal to 110 percent of the estimated duties, including fees, determined at the time of entry. If appropriate a carnet, under the provisions of part 114 of this chapter, may be filed in lieu of a bond on CBP Form 301 (containing the bond conditions set forth in § 113.62 of this chapter). Cash deposits in the amount of the bond may be accepted in lieu of sureties. When the articles are entered under subheading 9813.00.05, 9813.00.20, or 9813.00.50, HTSUS without formal entry, as provided for in §§ 10.36 and 10.36a, or the amount of the bond taken under any subheading of Chapter 98, Subchapter XIII, HTSUS, is less than $25, the bond shall be without surety or cash deposit, and the bond shall be modified to so indicate. In addition, notwithstanding any other provision of this paragraph, in the case of professional equipment necessary for carrying out the business activity, trade or profession of a business person, equipment for the press or for sound or television broadcasting, cinematographic equipment, articles imported for sports purposes and articles intended for display or demonstration, if brought into the United States by a resident of Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Chile, Morocco, Australia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Bahrain, Oman, Peru, the Republic of Korea, Colombia, or Panama and entered under Chapter 98, Subchapter XIII, HTSUS, no bond or other security will be required if the entered article is a good originating, within the meaning of General Notes 12, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and 35, HTSUS, in the country of which the importer is a resident.
(g) Claim for free entry under Chapter 98, Subchapter XIII, HTSUS may be made for articles of any character described therein which have been previously entered under any other provision of law and the entry amended accordingly upon compliance with the requirements of this section, provided the articles have not been released from CBP custody, or even though released from CBP custody if it is established that the original entry was made on the basis of a clerical error, mistake of fact, or other inadvertence within the meaning of section 514(a), Tariff Act of 1930, as amended, and was brought to the attention of CBP within the time limits of that section. If an entry is so amended, the period of time during which the merchandise may remain in the customs territory of the United States under bond shall be computed from the date of importation. In the case of articles covered by an informal mail entry, such a claim may be made within a reasonable time either before or after the articles have been released from CBP custody.
(h) After the entry and bond have been accepted, the articles may be released to the importer. The entry shall not be liquidated as the transaction does not involve liquidated duties. However, a TIB importer may be required to file an entry for consumption and pay duties, or pay liquidated damages under its bond for a failure to do so, in the case of merchandise imported under subheading 9813.00.05, HTSUS, and subsequently exported to Canada or Mexico (see § 181.53 of this chapter).
A manufacturer’s affidavit is not required to demonstrate the origin of the goods. The answer is B.

I immediately heard it and recognized it as something he had done in the past, and so did she, then we both started seeing posts about how Steve Miller loved that he was featured in this new song—- made me look into it further and apparently its original for Eminem? James Morrison (Jim Lewis) is now suing me in multiple Courts over statements I have made.
Quick Recap:
1. I believe that James Morrison aka .@WallStreetSilv is not happy that I and others figured out his real name wasn’t Jim Lewis.
2. I believe that Morrison is not happy that it is a factual public record that he is a convicted extortionist in the 1st and 2nd degree.
3. I believe that Morrison is not happy that it is a factual public record that he was convicted of Assault in the 3rd degree.
4. I believe that Morrison is not happy that public records exist of an affidavit from an Orange County detective that took sworn testimony from his then minor son that talks about Morrison assaulting his son with closed fists and the throwing of a fruit bowl.
5. I believe that Morrison is not happy that Reddit banned Morrison’s and Ivan Bayoukhi’s accounts while I and others who have been critical of their behavior are now the leadership of the Wall Street Silver community.
6. I believe that Morrison is not happy that I have an attorney. My attorney has also assisted in defending Morrison’s claims made against Peter Spina and the late James Forsythe, who recently passed away from a tragic and unfortunate accident.
Well, it has come to the point where Morrison, unable to achieve his goal (of getting an injunction to prevent free speech) has shifted his tactics. Through my research of public court records, James Morrison is now suing himself. Yes, you read that correctly, but more specifically, he is suing a company that he and his wife own, Kacey Media LLC.

But how did we get here? Let me explain and we’ll get back here shortly.
My last official statement on these matters centered around (in my opinion) a frivolous stalking case that resolved in my and the late Mr. Forsythe’s favor; however, after the dismissal was entered and legal arguments were presented, the judge reopened the cases on the grounds that Morrison is owed an evidentiary hearing. The judge determined that Morrison, as the Petitioner, was entitled to an evidentiary hearing although my counsel argued that the Court had the ability to dismiss without an evidentiary hearing. A hearing is in the process of getting scheduled for either September 3 or 4. Fortunately, the temporary injunction revoking my Constitutional Rights was not reinstated while we wait for this hearing.
In public records related to charges filed in Washington State, Morrison has a history of threatening cyberstalking, in addition to his convictions for assault and extortion. I and others worry about whether Morrison will turn on us outside of the courts.
In a letter sent to a Washington State Judge, Morrison’s wife stated “He (Morrison) has a history of severe depression and during my visits at the jail I have already started noticing the change in him. I am terrified that his mental health will suffer. His biological father committed suicide at young age and it is a real concern for me.”
The Defamation case continues to drag on. Since last year, I have tried to depose Morrison (legally interrogate under oath) and this has yet to happen, but not without a multitude of attempts. We have successfully been able to get some written statements, but the most burning question of exactly what damage I caused has yet to be revealed because Morrison has avoided showing any financial statements to date. We had a hearing scheduled to compel Morrison, but that was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict with a new Judge that has been assigned to the case.
Most recently, Mr. Colvin (his attorney) broke his ankle. Surgery will incapacitate the attorney for 4 weeks or more. Peter Spina’s (Gold Seek/Silver Seek) Motions contesting jurisdiction over him were scheduled for argument this week, but that will now be pushed off as well and potentially all my pending dates for the duration of Colvin’s absence.
All of this would be very frustrating if there wasn’t something else going on, but there is…
It’s time we made what has happened public while at the same time we shut it down in the courts in so doing keep this community safe yet again!
On April 3, Morrison, through his attorney, filed a sham pleading in a different circuit court, presumably expecting that no one would find it. Except I did, and we’ve been watching. We believed that the case was filed in the attempt to obtain discovery by circumventing Florida procedural rules. We received confirmation of this suspicion on Tuesday, June 4.
u/DumbMoneyMedia, u/pizzaslut_69420, .@NateFisher, u/TheHappyHawaiian were targeted in a subpoena requesting their real names and other private/financial information from X related to the sham case. I am pleased to report that at this time X refused to comply with their improper subpoena and we expect Reddit to react the same.
This week, we moved to Intervene in the case. It was amended on Tuesday to add language regarding my interest in the Lake County case. We intend to take affirmative offensive legal steps against Morrison in the very near future. I’m sharing the subpoena that was attempted against u/DumbMoneyMedia (with his permission). The subpoena was sent to X, but X has indicated that it will not provide a response.

Hi - I'm a US citizen who married my Thai wife in America. Now we're both in Chiang Mai and I'd love to register the marriage here and get my marriage visa.
I was told I needed to get an affidavit notarized by the US Embassy in Chiang Mai.
BUT.
I'm seeing conflicting info :(
This page says the US Embassy in Thailand no longer issues affidavits intended to replace official US docs like marriage certificates.
Yet I'm also hearing you can get the affidavit notarized as long as you make a self-sworn statement like:
"I was married to XXX on July 1st, 2022 in Ohio, USA. She is my lawfully wedded wife."
I'm ALSO hearing stories of people who couldn't get this done whatsoever and had to go BACK to the USA to get their marriage certificate authenticated.
Anyone have any experience with getting a marriage visa in Thailand after they were already married to their Thai partner in the states?

The file would have revealed that the now ex-wife of Suffolk Police Officer Teddy Hart told investigators she believed her husband was responsible for one of the killings, according to court papers. Legal Aid Society attorneys for John Bittrolff, 57, said they learned of the allegation made by Denise Hart while preparing an appeal of their client’s 2017 conviction for second-degree murder in the killings of Rita Tangredi and Colleen McNamee. Prosecutors insist, however, the defense has had the document since the beginning of the case.

In a response filed last month, Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Guy Arcidiacono said prosecutors did turn over the Hart IAB file almost immediately, referencing a letter from trial prosecutor Robert Biancavilla indicating 171 pages were hand-delivered to defense attorney Bill Keahon three months before the start of trial. Keahon later acknowledged receiving the file in a memo shortly before jury selection began, according to the filing by Arcidiacono, which urges the judge to deny Bittrolff's motion. “Beyond defendant’s failure to even meet a threshold burden that there had not been disclosure, the material in question had no bearing on the likelihood of defendant’s conviction,” Arcidiacono wrote. Keahon submitted an affidavit last October stating he does not recall receiving a specific allegation that Hart may have killed Tangredi. “An IAB file with an accusation related to Rita Tangredi is highly significant and I would have undoubtedly used this during my cross-examination of witnesses at trial,” Keahon wrote in his sworn statement. Reached by telephone this week, Keahon said he stands by his affidavit. Other allegations contained in the IAB file. Arcidiacono told the judge in his filing that a review by current district attorney’s office staff showed the IAB file turned over to Keahon does contain allegations Hart’s wife made against her husband but does not directly implicate him in Tangredi’s murder. Other allegations made by Hart’s former wife include that she found him in possession of a hank of human hair shortly after an unexplained absence, that he would point sex workers out by name to his wife and that he possessed explicit photographs he said women shared with him in attempts to avoid receiving traffic tickets, according to a copy of the district attorney's response to the Bittrolff motion obtained by Newsday. The IAB file also contained a photograph found in Hart’s home showing “a bound unclothed young female who appeared to be bleeding from the nose,” Arcidiacono noted in his response. Instead, Arcidiacono said, the file contains a reference to a DNA analysis in June 2002 of items belonging to Hart that were compared with the DNA of Tangredi, a sex worker who was killed Nov. 2, 1993. A DNA expert testified at Bittrolff’s trial that Hart’s DNA was not found at the Tangredi or McNamee crime scenes. Hart, now 64, resigned after 12 years with the Suffolk County Police Department in November 2000, the same month he pleaded guilty to eight counts of aggravated harassment, computer trespass and official misconduct. He admitted repeatedly calling women late at night and threatening to rape them after obtaining their phone numbers from police computers. Hart could not be reached for comment for this story.Tangredi’s murder remained unsolved for two decades until Suffolk homicide detectives obtained a Bittrolff DNA sample that matched semen recovered from both her and McNamee, 20, a fellow sex worker from Holbrook who was killed in a similar fashion three months after Tangredi. Bittrolff was arrested in 2014 and charged with the murder of both women, whose bodies were posed similarly, with their clothes nearby, except for one shoe each and their underwear. Biancavilla, who tried the case under former Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota in 2017, told reporters at Bittrolff’s sentencing that he believed the carpenter may be responsible for the killings at Gilgo Beach, four of which since have been charged to Manhattan architect Rex A. Heuermann, 60, of Massapequa Park. Bittrolff lived a short distance from where partial remains of two Gilgo Beach victims had been found in a wooded area of Manorville. Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney has stated in recent months that he does not believe Bittrolff has any connection to the Gilgo Beach slayings. Only a few hours had passed since the short training session had ended and yet Nul'trula felt ready for more. It had only been two and a half hours of actual simulated combat, after all. With the expanded capacities of her new shell, she hadn't even reached the point of either stress or processor lag while engaging with hundreds of targets, countering thousands of munitions, and ensuring her four team teammates had all the support they needed to persevere. It almost felt like a game to her, and one she was naturally good at. Though Nula had already sworn to herself that she would never willingly bring harm to people, that essential aspect of morality was a fundamental part of her base code, she couldn't help but enjoy the thrill brought by that combat simulation.
Though the enemies she battled were controlled by a sapient being, a rather kind one whom she considered a friend, they represented an evil that once threatened all other life in the galaxy. If only her creators had taken the safe precautions with Hekuiv’trula that they had with her, maybe things would be different. However, as Nula’s mind had expanded in her shell far beyond her wildest expectations, she had been decompressing long stored away files regarding the Artuv'trula species. And those lost memories revealed more and more about a past that she wished she had left forgotten. Regardless of how kind and loving the team of scientists were who created her base code and instilled within her a drive to protect all living things, they were a part of a government who mistakenly saw their state, a mere social construct, an idea made manifest by the will of those participating in it, as the final and ultimate expression of the Artuv’trula people, culture, and species.
How could an artificial intelligence programmed with the express purpose of bringing something as fleeting and amorphous as an idea into infinity become anything other than the end of its own creators? How could a being whose sole created purpose was to ensure the continuation of a concept, but not the people who embodied that concept, become anything other than deranged? If people, cultures, and political systems change, which they all inevitably do, then how could an AI purposefully made to preserve one specific state, nothing more than the fleeting whims of an ever-changing people, do anything other than what it was programmed to do? Where Nula was explicitly designed to cherish all life, her brother's purpose was to ensure the Gytiom Infinite Hegemony would live on throughout all time and space. It was only a matter of time until Hekuiv would realize that the Artuv'trula were not immutable, they would change, and the Gytiom governmental system would be replaced by something else. And when that non-sapient, barely-sentient military control and management AI came to that inevitable conclusion, it was already far too late to stop it.
Even with her mind as clear and robust as it now was, Nula'trula hadn't yet consciously connected the fact that her lust for new experiences was directly related to her deep down desire to remain ignorant of the worst aspects of her creator's history. Her readiness to engage in more combat simulations, to see all the sights The Hammer had to offer, and engage in any activity which could keep her processors fully engaged were all just as much desires to have fun as they were a means to keep herself distracted. In moments like these where she could keep herself occupied with enjoyable thoughts, there was no need to wallow in an unchanged past. Instead, Nula was focusing all of her consciousness towards the present.
Having just walked out of a movie theater and into a clothing store with the company of Melatropa, one of her first true friends, the only things on Nula's mind were what she had just seen and what kind of clothing styles she should experiment with. The hour-long animated film featured a simple but effective art style, a single androgynous character reminiscent of and relatable to a dozen species, and a story focused on the struggles of one's own mind while surrounded by nothing but nature. Despite not being able to truly empathize with just how difficult base survival really was for a biological being alone in the wild, the meaning and intended message of the film had hit its mark. The battle outside one's soul was often far less brutal than the one fought within. However, at the current moment, that lesson was only to be applied to the rather innocuous clash between material choices for the outfit that Nula was to wear on her first ever date.
“Ooo! Are these furs?!?” Slowly making her way through a wide selection of clothing materials, Nula stopped in front of a particular section that peaked her interest in an innate way that far surpassed the almost endless display of fabrics she had been perusing. “Are they all from real animals?!?”
“Well, they're synth-furs.” Melatropa answered with a soft but quite deep giggle. “Either made out of manufactured polymers or cloned material, both of which are produced on demand to reduce the storage requirements. But yes, they are all based on real patterns from animals throughout the galaxy. The one you're looking at right now is actually from the bal'amuro of my people’s homeworld. A mighty feline predator that hunted my ancient ancestors just as we hunted them. But as we developed our weapons technology and grew in numbers, they were nearly pushed to extinction. While tens of thousands of years of conservation has guaranteed they will live on with a stable and healthy population, possession of actual bal'amuro fur has been outlawed for so many generations that the only remaining examples reside in the wild, in zoos, or in museums. If I remember right, this stuff is cloned from a preserved cloak that rests in the museum in Ten’txutcan.”
“I can see why your people covet this material so much.” The canine android’s voice trailed off as a distant memory, or rather an ancient and highly compressed bit of stored data pertaining to her creator's history, began to resurface. However, thanks to her vastly upgraded processing and memory she was able to continue on regardless of the fact her mind now bore the burden of remembrance. “A gold that simultaneously shimmers and absorbs light, spots of pinkish red that would be nearly invisible at night, and… Oh… This deep blue underskin is simply gorgeous. I presume this is outside of the budget Admiral Atxika gave us?”
“I'm not going to tell you what our budget is. But…” The large and muscular blue woman shot Nula a coy wink before letting her crimson red eyes wander down the display of material samples. “Let's just say we can afford it so long as you don't try to fill your entire closet with just this. Besides, you gotta consider how it'll look with the synth fur you wanted Banitek and Agothocli to cover your paneling with.”
“I was actually still considering my options with that.” Nula struggled to pull herself from the artificial golden panther fur but quickly found herself making her way down the aisle while affirming something she had discovered earlier. “None of these quite match what I wanted for my shell. You see, while my creator's did sport a wide variety of colors and patterns in their fur, I was looking for something quite specific.”
“Oh? Is there someone specific you wish to emulate?”
“Well… I guess you could call an ancient deity someone. But, yes. My name, Nula'trula, was derived from my creator’s ancient Goddess of Life and Love, Nula'somia. She was imagined as having a short but dense coat of glistening, pearlescent white fur that was as soft as silk and with a red-gold mane and flowing locks.”
“I'm not exactly sure about how to acquire the mane and hair… But that fur you're describing does remind me of something.” Mela turned towards the large blue woman standing behind the counter and shouted towards her with a cheerful tone. “Hey, Luniviria! Do you have a moment?”
“Oh, we don't need to bother her. Didn't she already tell us that all the materials she had available for her garments were on display here?”
“She keeps some special stuff in reserve for her more well-informed clientele. And if you're going on your first date night tomorrow, then this definitely calls for something special!”

“Do any of you three actually do any work on this ship?” Banitek paused his hammering and asked the avian, mustelid, and primate who were lounging about in his workshop. “Or do you weenuks just hangout all day waiting for something to do?”
“I mean, it kinda feels like that sometimes!” Tens retorted with a vigorous, full-bellied chuckle.
“I don't know about Binko, but Tens and I were running training with some of the Qui’ztar honor guard a few hours ago.” Hompta added with a high pitched and squeaky tone. “But speaking of working, what have you been up to, Binko? I haven't really seen you for like a week!”
“I've been studying for my pilot's license renewal.” The deep purple avian had his tablet in one of his claws and was reading from it rather intensely. “Which reminds me, Tens. You need to get your co-pilot license renewed soon. Tarki already has all the paperwork done for you, you just need to study for the written test so you can pass.”
“Have the regulations changed?” The Nishnabe warrior shot an overly confident look towards Binko, who ignored it. “Because if not, then there's nothing I need to study for.”
“It's a fifty question test from a bank of a thousand.” Binko's vibrant blue eyes slowly lifted from his tablet as an incredulous expression befell his feathered face. “Are you really trying to tell me you remember all thousand answers after eight years?”
“Go ahead, test me!”
“Alright!” The deep purple avian quickly flicked through the list of questions he was studying and picked one that he felt would challenge his friend and co-pilot. “If a vessel loses power to its primary and secondary control thrusters while in the process of docking, what is the procedure?”
“While the pilot uses tertiary control thrusters to arrest all movement, the co-pilot contacts the station's flight controllers to declare the emergency.” Much to the surprise of the Kroke, Kyim’ayik, and Hi-Koth, the Nishnabe warrior, a man who had made it a mission in his youth to avoid school at all cost, was able to respond without the slightest shred of hesitation. “The controllers will attempt to confirm the malfunction with their sensors, specifically looking for any potential of explosion or hazardous material leak. Assuming there are no immediate threats to the station, the controllers will then deploy tug-drones to either bring the vessel into the originally assigned dock for repairs or, if there is the potential for hazardous material contamination, the drones will move the vessel to a safe temporary dock where emergency repairs must be undertaken before the vessel can dock into the station-proper. Then there's a few more steps that have to do with diagnostics and specific repairs, but I'm pretty sure those would fall under the questions about how to address control thruster failure that aren't specific to port docking.”
“Binko, don't tell me he got that right!” Hompta blurted out while staring daggers at Tens.
“Fine, I won't tell you.” Binko retorted with soft cackling while shaking his head and scrolling to a new question. “I'll tell Bani. Hey Bani, Tens got that question right.”
“Of course he did!” Though Banitek was shocked at how quickly and effortlessly Tens was able to answer such a technical question, this was not the first, or even hundredth, time that he had seen this mostly hairless primate display an unpredictable amount of knowledge. “The guy's got the memory of a Muritoph but can't remember his own birthday most of the time.”
“I think it's in a couple months.” In stark contrast to his confidence when answering Binko's question, Tens actually looked a bit confused as he tried to remember both the current date and the date of his birth.
“It's in six weeks and you're turning twenty-four, you weenuk!” The furry little beaver-otter half shouted with frustration obvious in his voice. “I swear, niji! If your parents and goko didn't call you on your birthday every year, you'd have no idea how old you are!”
For a few moments, Banitek's workshop was filled with laughter from four different species. Despite having grown up together on the same station, going to the same school, having the same caretakers, and even considering each other as family, there were certain aspects of each individual that were wholly unique to their species. Where Binko was incredibly quick witted, his Kroke brain able to mentally process thoughts at rate far higher than most other forms of Ascended life, both Hompta and Banitek, with their larger but less densely packed brains, were able to maintain multiple trains of thought at the same time. However, much to the continued surprise of them and all other non-human persons who spent any amount of time among the Nishnabe, Tens was able to effortlessly switch between rapid recall, multiple trains of thought, or even utilize both at the same time. And while the almost comical tendency for this Nishnabe warrior to forget things which many considered to be incredibly important on a personal level, the fact he could immediately answer a practical question from a subject he hadn't specifically studied for in years was somehow even funnier.
“Hey, so, back to my original question.” Banitek was the first to slowly get his deep and roaring laughter under control. “How much work do y'all actually do on this ship? At least one of you has been here everyday since I opened this shop.”
“Well… As a member of the security and combat staff, I'm pretty sure my contract stipulates that I'm always on-call.” Even if Tens couldn't remember every single word of the contract he had signed when joining the First Independent Fleet of the Third Qui’ztar Matriarchy, he could still instantly recall the most important parts. “But I am required to log a minimum of five hours a day, five days a week, or thirty hours total a week of training whenever I'm not deployed on a mission. And that includes physical training. But I usually don't log stuff like my morning exercises or if I'm just messing around in the sims. I also get compensated with additional time off after extended missions.”
“Yeah, this Qui’ztar Fleet is way more serious about time off than the Nishnabe Militia.” Hompta added while struggling to get his high pitch chortling under control. “As a member of the engineering and support staff, I'm also on-call if I'm needed. But I have the same amount of required work hours. As long as I log thirty hours, I'm getting paid good!”
“I'm technically part of the diplomatic staff so I don't really have required work hours.” Binko's comment drew a rather harsh glare from his friends which he didn't notice because he had already gone back to studying from his tablet. “My hours are whatever Tarki tells me my hours are. But if I'm with the love of my life, I can't really consider that working.”
“Eeeeee! Lover-boy over here!” Hompta sarcastically chided his avian friend as he found a new reason to continue his wild laughter.
“Alright, so, what do y'all do when you're not working then?” Bani rolled his eyes at the Kyim’ayik who already had children but had not yet even considered getting married to any of their mothers. “If y'all only have to work thirty hours a week, what are you doing to fill time on this ship?”
“I flirt with the Kyim’ayik women onboard!” Hompta announced with a cheeky smirk and seemingly endless giggling. “And there's that fishing spot, a bunch of shopping, and all kinds of different entertainment venues. I took one of the ladies from reactor control to a movie the other day and I got another date night lined up with her tomorrow!”
“Before Atx and I started shacking up, I hit almost every bar, sim room, and smoking lounge on this ship.” While Tens did leave out any mention of the Qui’ztar women he had flings with before he and Atxika began their relationship, it was clear by the rather coy and particular look in his eyes that Hompta hadn't been the only one chasing tail. “I’m telling you, niji, this Amenities Section really does have everything a person could ever need or want. When I asked Atx about it, she told me the point is to prevent burn out or psychological issues that can come from being a warrior in space. Apparently, Nishnabek aren't the only people who get weird if we spend too much time doing combat training. The work hours and amount of entertainment available are specifically meant to avoid that. Like, we couldn't tell you everything there is to do in this ship because there's just so much. The whole First of the Third uses this ship as their port of call and place to relax, it's got to have everything anyone could possibly imagine so everyone can unwind and not feel the need to do stupid stuff!”
“Speaking of stupid stuff…” Binko, once again, did not look up from his studies but it was painfully obvious who the mention of stupid stuff was directed at. “When was the last time you jumped out the window at that one bar, Tens?”

Clarita Vargas was 8 when she was forced to live at St. Mary’s Mission, a Catholic-run Indian boarding school in Omak, Wash., that was created under a U.S. government policy to strip Native American children of their identities. A priest took her and othergirls to his office to watch a TV movie, then groped and fondled her as she sat on his lap — the beginning of three years of sexual abuse, she said.
“It haunted me my entire life,” said Vargas, now 64.
Jay, a 70-year-old member of the Assiniboine and Gros Ventre tribes whose surname is not being used to protect his privacy, was sent to St. Paul Mission and Boarding School in Hays, Mont. When he was 11, Jay said, a Jesuit brother raped him in a shack next to the pine grove where the priests cut down Christmas trees.
“He said if I ever told anybody that I would go to hell,” Jay recalled.
Geraldine Charbonneau Dubourt was one of nine sisters who said they were sexually or physically abused by priests at an Indian boarding school in Marty, S.D. She said that she was 16 when a Catholic priest repeatedly raped her in a church basement and that a doctor and several Catholic sisters later forced her to undergo an abortion.
“If somebody says you get over the abuse, trust me, you don’t get over it,” said Dubourt, 75.
These firsthand accounts and other evidence documented by The Washington Post reveal the brutality and sexual abuse inflicted upon children who were taken from their families under a systematic effort by the federal government to destroy Native American culture, assimilate children into White society and seize tribal lands.
From 1819 to 1969, tens of thousands of children were sent to more than 500 boarding schools across the country, the majority run or funded by the U.S. government. Children were stripped of their names, their long hair was cut, and they were beaten for speaking their languages, leaving deep emotional scars on Native American families and communities. By 1900, 1 out of 5 Native American school-age children attended a boarding school. At least 80 of the schools were operated by the Catholic Church or its religious affiliates.
The Post investigation reveals a portrait of pervasive sexual abuse endured by Native American children at Catholic-run schools in remote regions of the Midwest and Pacific Northwest, including Alaska.
At least 122 priests, sisters and brothers assigned to 22 boarding schools since the 1890s were later accused of sexually abusing Native American children under their care, The Post found. Most of the documented abuse occurred in the 1950s and 1960s and involved more than 1,000 children.
“A national crime scene” is how Deborah Parker, a citizen of the Tulalip Tribes and the chief executive of the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition, described the network of church-run Indian boarding schools.
“They committed crimes under the cloak,” said Parker, whose grandmother and other family members were sent to boarding schools. “They did it in the name of God.”
To investigate, The Post examined the work histories of priests named on lists, disclosed by Catholic entities, as having faced a “credible claim of sexual abuse.” Using those lists from dioceses and religious orders, The Post then identifiedwhich abusers worked at Indian boarding schools. Reporters also reviewed lawsuits, sworn affidavits, oral histories and thousands of boarding school records, and conducted interviews with former students.
The Post’s findings come at a time when the country’s first Native American cabinet secretary, Deb Haaland — whose own relatives were sent to boarding schools — is scrutinizing the history of the schools that were operated or supported by the U.S. Interior Department, the agency she now leads.
As with past government inquiries into the boarding schools, Haaland’s investigation has not delved into the sexual abuse of Native American children at church-run schools. A 2022 report by her department blamed the U.S. government for the boarding school system and cited the “rampant physical, sexual, and emotional abuse” of the children. But the report did not detail the schools where sexual abuse happened, the number of children raped or molested, or the names of priests and other religious members who abused them.
“We care deeply about this issue, but it’s outside the scope of what we sought to do with the investigative reports,” said an Interior Department official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak publicly. The official said the department did not seek records from the Catholic Church because its investigation was focused solely on the U.S. government’s role and reviewed only federal government documents.
Experts say The Post’s findings are a window into the widespread sexual abuse at Indian boarding schools. But the extent of the abuse was probably far worse, because the lists of accused priests are inconsistent and incomplete, and many survivors have not come forward. Others are aging and in poor health, or, like their abusers, have died.
The chances to document their testimonies are disappearing.

Those scandals of the early 2000s gave Native Americans the courage to come forward with their own stories of abuse and seek accountability through lawsuits.
“It showed that people could stand up against a powerful entity like the church and that people could be held accountable,” said Vito de la Cruz, a Native American and Chicano lawyer who has represented boarding school survivors.
An attempt to sue the federal government failed, but some survivors of sexual abuse have successfully sued Catholic dioceses and religious orders and received settlements.
Unlike children abused by priests at churches in Boston and other big cities while they were living at home, Native American children were put into the care of alleged abusers at remote boarding schools, sometimes hundreds of miles from home.
At some boarding schools, generations of Native American children were continuously under the care of Catholic priests, brothers or sisters who were later accused of sexual abuse.

My and my fiancée have decided to get married abroad in Grenada in the middle of August. We’ve planned and paid for this through a holiday resort. They’re now saying they need our birth certificates and passports notorized, and a sworn affidavit that neither of us are married. They need these done within 10 days.
I’ve seen online companies that will do that same day by uploading documents but is that legit?
What’s the best way to go about this?

2024.05.29 04:53 Brutus-1787 Smelling/tasting notes in Weller Antique (Red)?

Previously, I’ve never been able to smell/taste anything specific in my previous samplings. I’m a noob, so I basically can smell either ethanol, bourbon, or good-smelling bourbon.
I’m currently congested with a head cold and I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. But I could have sworn that the nostril that isn’t clogged got a noticeable scent of chocolate tonight (and subsequent confirmation of it in the tasting).
In looking at other reviews on here it seems like most people talk about vanilla or caramel when it comes to sweet flavors.
Am I alone in getting chocolate in this bourbon? Is it possible that my congestion has given me counter intuitive super smelling powers?

2024.05.28 18:08 Ranadiel A Deep Dive into the File Remnants for the Original Plans for 2.0 (Datamined Defunct Content)

So there was a recent thread that got me to look back on the original plans for the 2.0 expansion material and I ended up digging through it a bit more than I ever had before. I figured it might be fun to write up a full breakdown of what I was able to gleam from my digging.
Before I begin, I should mention that the information available is spotty and inconsistent in places. For example, according to the TORCommunity database, a lot of these files were added in version 1.3 and 2.0. However, going back to the files that are in those patches (I love you Jedipedia), a lot of those files are not present in those versions. I assume this is internal marking, and is based on the dev's versions and not the live versions. In fact the Sith Warrior dialogues only show up in live in 5.0.0. I have no idea why those dialogues just suddenly popped into existence there.
Generally speaking I have four types of files available to look through.

Overall Plan

So to begin, it should be noted that all of these cnv files are located in the directory cnv.exp.01. This is the same naming convention used for the released Rise of the Hutt Cartel files. This makes it difficult to tell what Makeb's original role in the expansion was. It appears that it was intended to be part of the expansion as there is the following line from the Supreme Chancellor that appears to vary based on whether a Smuggler did Makeb before starting Bothawui.
(Did not do Makeb) "Of course I am. The Voidwolf's defeat is the only reason I can ignore being referred to as "Madame Chance. "
(Did do Makeb) "Of course I am. Your success on Makeb bought you considerable leeway with me--but "Madame Chance" is pushing it. "
Additionally according to TORCommunity's "added in patch" data, the majority of Makeb's cnvs were initially added in 1.3, which was the same patch that most of the other files were added for the cut content.
So in addition to Makeb, the planned planets appear to have been Bothawui (Pub), Ziost (Imp), and Sleheyron (Both). These three planets were intended to have class stories and side quests (no evidence of a world arc, but I don't know if none was planned or if they just didn't get to it). There is no evidence that Makeb was ever meant to have any class stories on it. Additionally, there is one conversation file for Imp Yavin IV. It was early on in development when they stopped working on it since the dialogue is just a summary of what happens in the scenes (e.g., a shuttle crashes), but there are quests and NPCs for both Pub and Imp world arcs, so there was more planned.
So in summary the plan appears to have been something like:
Now before I start on discussing the content from each planet, it is worth mentioning that I have little context for most quests and NPCs, so I'm just going to be putting them in alphabetical order.

Bothawui

The overall setting for this Planet seems to have been that the Republic is going on the offensive and the Imperials are going scorched earth while they get pushed off planet.
Something that is well known (I think) at this point is that Dantooine on live is a modified version of the map that originally made for Bothawui. From the dialogue files that I've looked through, I'm betting the dam in the portion of the map we are on was originally called the Bosnar Dam, which was a set piece for one of the JK missions. Also probably worth noting that the there are multiple mentions of Bothawui being an important source of food, which probably factored into their choice to reuse the area since Dantooine is also a farming planet.

I'm really not sure what the state of Ziost was supposed to be. SW seems to be dealing with Pubs having taken over the planet defense grid. SI and IA seem to be dealing with internal politics. And I have no idea of what BH is up to.

Honestly I have less of an idea for Sleheyron than Ziost since Sleheyron is either the least finished planet or the planet with the least files that has slipped into live.

I have very little idea on the Pub side of things. There are some clues for the Imp side though. While he lacks a creature file, the Imp quests make mention of reporting to Servant One. So that means Imps were probably here on a mission for the Emperor. My first instinct is reviving the Emperor, but I don't have enough info. General Heskar also made a return. Oh Imps also spoke to Naga Sadow's force ghost as part of their world arc.

Jedi Knight

So the JK's overreaching plot for seems to have been working together with the Protectors (the rescue team we met on Makeb) in order to help evacuate people.
There are multiple mentions of a place called Talravin, which I'm guessing is where the story would start as the JK helps evacuations there. From reading between the lines, it appears that the JK would be sending the refugees to a new world called New Euphrades...and of course the story finishes with us fighting a Sith in orbit as he is trying to destroy it.
Based on quest names, it seems we were meant to go to Alphelion Six, which does not have a wookiepedia article so I guess it was a new planet, at some point. Since the finale seemed to be New Euphrades, I'm guessing this happened between Bothawui and Sleheyron. Whenever it happened, the Protectors were apparently going to join you there.
Seems that there was an ending choice for the JK between joining the Protectors full time or becoming the Battlemaster. There is a lot of dialogue regarding the role of Jedis, so this seems like a conclusion to that arc as the JK chooses whether to be a protector or a warrior? Scourge also mentions that he had additional visions, but doesn't provide anything useful just kind of says "yeah I totally knew you were going to make that choice" after you made it.

Jedi Consular

The JC's arc seems to be the most clear cut. The JC gets a vision of the galaxy burning because of Torwin Vehls and then sets out to find them and stop them. On Bothawui, the JC discovers that Torwin has the power to give power to others, and this includes giving force sensitivity to non-sensitives (and also to animals).
The JC fails to catch Torwin on Bothawui and must continue chasing after him before he find "the Shrouded Ones," which were something related to the Rakata. "The Shrouded Ones were built to be the end of everything. A solution, to our empire's final problem." Not sure if they were something new or something that already exists given a mysterious name. There are talks about them that makes them sound like they are machines powered by the force, but I'm not sure how that solves the Rakata's final problem or meshes with Torwin's power. Then again the Rakata were evil jerks, so maybe their solution was to just murder everyone so they didn't go down alone?
I feel like there is a good chance that this unused arc is the inspiration for at least part of the current arc since one of the powers Darth Nul is mentioned as having is awakening force sensitivity in those unaware they had it (slightly different, but if anyone starts mentioning Shrouded Ones, we know that is not a good sign).

Smuggler

Trying to describe this plot feels like a fever dream, but maybe that is appropriate for a continuation of the OG Smuggler story. So the Smuggler gets dragged into the story after an attack on Port Nowhere by a criminal gang.
The Smuggler tracks them down to Bothawui where you learn they are the Womp Family and that they have gotten ahold of a Superdreadnaught, which they refer to as a "space mansion." And they aren't just called the Womp Family, they actually are a family. The plot is essentially that a bunch of hillbillies got their hands on a...fully automated aircraft carrier(?) and are now going around launching air strikes on people that tipped their cows. They literally launch an orbital bombardment on the Smuggler at one point. Not his ship or base that he is at. Just the Smuggler after the Smuggler corners one of their members. They are also trying to extort the Republic. I don't know how things ended, but I imagine the dark side ending has the Smuggler getting a larger ship.

Trooper

Trooper is leading the front lines of the battle on Bothawui with a reporter in tow. Had a scene that would have been interesting to see where the Trooper was to get airdropped in a bomb modified to serve as an entry craft. The reporter mentions having enough footage on Bothawui, so I'm not really sure where the expansion long arc was supposed to go from there. Immediately after Bothawui, you are the guest of honor at a party held by the Chancellor, so I guess the Sleheyron mission pops up there.

Sith Warrior

Sith Warrior is the only one of the Imp classes that I have dialog for. On Ziost, the SW is in charge of getting the planetary defenses back after Pubs take them over. However the planetary defenses might only be a distraction because there is dialogue referring to the Sith Warrior saving the Voice who is a necessary component for reviving the Emepror.
The overarching plot seems to be a conflict with Gnost-Dural who seems to be looking into ending the Emperor for good. While the SW is dealing with Ziost, Gnost-Dural prepares to attack the hidden fortress where the Hand resides. The attack starts while the SW is reporting on their success in protecting the Hand. Once here Gnost-Dural captures all of the Servants except for Servant Twelve who goes to the SW for help. Servant Twelve drops the tidbit that if the hand was severed than (in this timeline) the Emperor can no longer revived. Gnost Dural seems unaware of this as he puts the Servants in stasis and carefully probes their minds to get information about the Emperor without hurting them.
Interesting to note that one of the quests is called Showdown on Ossus, so that might have been the inspiration for Gnost-Dural being on Ossus in Jedi Under Siege.
Also there is a dialogue that mentions the Sith Warrior putting down two Dark Council members. Not entirely sure which Dark Council members they were though. Checking the NPC list for all the Sith Warrior locations, the only Darths that are mentioned are Darth Baras and Darth Vowrawn. So I guess they were including Baras. I'm thinking that Vowrawn might have actually sided with Gnost-Dural? There is a line in a conversation during the Hand's Fortress that states, "His source remains a mystery--not even Darth Vowrawn or Zujen Vale knew our location." Zujen Vale is mentioned to be a traitor in a different conversation. So I guess Vowrawn being opposed to the Hand on Rishi might have been inspired by the original plan to make him opposed to the Emperor? And now I have Emperor Vowrawn on live instead. Funny how these things work.
There is also mention of the Sith Warrior making a speech during/after Ziost, which appears to have been about reform and appears to have been directed at the Dark Council. So I guess a LS option to try and put the fear of Wrath into the Dark Council after the Wrath did some house cleaning.

At least part of the IA storyline seemed to be focused on cleaning up after Malgus's rebellion as there are NPCs with Malgus in their name. I'm not sure whether that was the focus of the entire expansion or if you stumble onto something else while dealing with "the betrayer's spymaster."

I have no context to make sense of the info I have for BH. An NPC named Zedania seems to be important. I can't tell what his role in the story was though. Some Probergers bandy around poorly understood terms like "prosecutor's fallacy" and others dispute the very clear conclusion that the DNA was single source.

During the hearing, the opposing counsel introduced an accusation against me that was entirely fabricated. This accusation was not mentioned in any sworn affidavits submitted to the court, neither in mine nor my ex-partner's. It was a completely new claim that caught me off guard.

Ito sana ipapasa ko kaso yung need ipasa under government worker is ITR, BIR FORM, and Certificate of Employment with Compensation.
