2024.06.10 01:59 Far_Tea_65 What are your thoughts on bullies who had character development?

met the biggest bully of high school after 4 years and was surprised she's no longer friends with her bully COF (whom my friends said are still bullies in college). she didn't really bully me or any of my friends, but her friends did, and she apologized on behalf of them. she said she tried reaching out to us, but couldn't find our facebook, which we deleted years ago.
for some reason, we've always thought she was their leader. parang sya lang may final say sakanila dati and she was the scariest to the point na she could make our class president cry. para syang mima ng group nila dati. anyhoo, we now follow each other on instagram and she seemed very different, in a good way. like at peace. apologizing to us wasn't really necessary since she's never really harmed us naman (afaik yung mga umaaway lang sa friends nya yung binully nya), but her still doing it was admirable. i'm not tryna glorify her, but i'd also fight for my friends if i had her reputation. they were real untouchable because of her, kaya lakas ng loob mangbully ng friends nya before eh.
her ex bffs are still bullies in college and we've concluded she was the one who cut them off, since they're still acting like kids 'til now. what are ur thoughts? could someone notorious really change?

Missing... Bruh
Good morning friends, I recently posted on this forum a request for help and recommendations on what to do in case the appeal sent by Ali Express was rejected. It turns out that the package arrived EMPTY at Ali Express warehouses, apparently the responsible is the local parcel delivery company. The truth is I don't know what to do, I am quite desperate and disappointed, I have sent an email to the corresponding company and tomorrow I will go to the branch where I delivered the package to see if they give me an answer. If not, what do you recommend me to do? What do you recommend me to do? By the way, I am from Mexico, although some of you may have already suspected it. Thank you for your attention.

2024.06.10 01:38 ilurv What should I do if my (23F) bf's (24M) mom is strict? 6 yrs na kami

I have been with my boyfriend for 6 years. Currently, 6 months working/saving ako and planning to move out by December. Lived in MNL with my sibling since my parents are in the province. On the other hand, my boyfriend has lived his whole life with his parents in MNL. Hindi rin siya pinayagan magdorm nung college. He WFH and earns more than me, and has been explicitly reminding me na he is just saving for our future and for when he is ready. Middle class kami both.
Ever since the beginning, we already knew his mom did not approve of our relationship. While yung dad nya chill lang (and kinakausap or nakikipagjoke sakin), his mom hated me lol. When we were in HS, my bf said magtatraining sya football but actually went out to see me sa 7-11 (it wasnt my idea, it was his). I was also sick that time. After a few hours, his mom called me kasi she found out na he lied. She was so mad, telling me na nagsinunggaling boyfriend ko and na di pa raw siya pwede magjowa lol. When my bf and I were together, I heard her call me malandi. I talked to my bf (obviously) why he didnt defend me and he said "kinuha nya phone ko tas tumaas sa kwarto."
SHS graduation namin and his mom didnt even look at my parents or took pic of the both of us.
Fast forward. Pandemic so mostly online lang kami ng bf ko. Payapa naman hahahaha ~ He promised na after college, we would become more free and independent.
But of course, we were just hoping for the best. During his grad, his mom posted pics of my bf lang without me. Sabi ko, hmmm ok baka di naman siya mapost. I also ate twice with his fam and akala ko ok lang naman. I would go to his house and joke to his mom na ikakasal na kami etc. She would even ask kamusta na ako and she bought me a purse.
Then she got mad at me again. When my bf's dad was in the hospital, I messaged my bf, his sister (I'm close with her) and his mom. Lagi ko kinakamusta. One day, my bf got into an accident otw to the hospital (kasi malakas yung ulan). His mom messaged me saying "wag mong gawin driver anak ko" like... di po kami magkasama hahaha nasa bahay po ako. I explained to her na I didn't go to their house nor did I ask him to pick me up. Sabi niya "sana bigyan mo space pamilya namin" so narealize ko my messages weren't helping pala. I let it slide but my bf talked to her.
Last December, we didnt spend Christmas together. Actually in our 6 years together we haven't spent any holidays together. We would go out to dates 2 to 4 times a month lang. I opened this up with my bf. I said na I saw this relationship as something serious, na we are not just teenagers dating na. Since the pandemic, our way of hangouts was through online movies or games, but I wanted more. Is it wrong of me to want more?
Since then, he gave more effort to show me he loved me. Tried including me in family events (pero di pinayagan ng lola), gave me gifts he would save up for, and went to me just because. But after a while it would go back to the usual again, then babalik ulit if nagalit or nalungkot ako. I realized di lang talaga kami parehas ng love language, so we still tried to make it work.
Before our 6th anniversary, I echoed my thoughts sa relationship. Six years, and di ka pa nakakapunta sa province ko? I feel really wrong pero I just hoped we had more: like travel to Baguio (we can afford naman as we both have jobs and savings) or have a staycation in an AirBnB. Since then, I have been trying to breakup with him, but it never really happened as I love him so much and I want us to work. I saw my future with him.
He went to my province for 2 days and 1 night, and his mom was so mad. Mga two times na namin pinaalam as a joks, pero in the end tinotoo namin. "Bakit mo pa kailangan pumunta diyan - kilala mo naman na parents niya?" "May tamang oras para sa ganiyan." "Ayoko nga." She didnt talk to my bf for a week or two, and she blocked me. I also found out (through his sister) na his mom said "Sana makahanap pa siya ng iba bago ikasal."
When I went to their house to spend time with my bf and his sis, his mom called and sabi mag dinner sila. Sabi niya, "nandito rin si gf (me) pwede ba siya sumama?" 2x but tumatahimik lang mom niya. In the end, sinama ako ng bf ko (sabi ko ok lang naman if di pwede, I can just go home, but he insisted I go). Throughout the dinner, she didn't even look at me and would only talk to my bf. Before the province fiasco, she was also mad when she found out na my bf and I had plans to go abroad. She said "ano? susundan mo anak ko?" like tita alangan AFAM ang sundan ko HAHAHHAHA please. She said she wants us to get married by 35 or 40-45. Wow ok queen of planning. I told my bf how uncomfortable and hurt I would feel when she talked loudly to me but sabi niya "ganun lang talaga siya."
Lately, our issue with tita's strictness has been resurfacing. We went out with my friends at 7PM (near his house) and pinapauwi na sya by 10PM kasi "di siya nagpaalam." Then tomorrow, graduation ng sister niya and she wanted me there, but sabi ng mom niya na ayaw niya raw ako pumunta. "Sabihin mo walang extra ticket" kahit nasabi na sa akin na meron. Also, birthday ng jowa ko, and again, I feel like ayaw niya rin ako na nandon.
I love my bf so much but I just feel so powerless. He is also feeling so much pressure and he doesnt want to pick sides, so I feel like I have the one to surrender. Asking for your thoughts lang on how do I approach this? We really want to be together, and we want to make this work. Please help me think on what I can do kasi sumasakit na ulo ko kakaisip at kakaiyak hahaha.
TLDR, 6 years with my bf and his strict mom does not like me. My bf hasnt invited or spent holidays or bdays with me. What should I do?

Background
Pretty slow running, PR for a marathon is 4:22. Trying to do a marathon in all 50 states, this is my 15th marathon overall and 8th marathon in the last 8 months. PR was in Houston this year and every race after has been slower, definitely feeling some fatigue between running and some life events.
Training
Historically, I've been using Hanson's Running Plan for quite a while, peaking around 50-55 miles per week.
Most of my races have been around a month apart so I take one week of rest with around 10 miles of running, 2 weeks of around 20-30 miles, and one week of taper with around 10 miles of running. This race I came down with COVID 2 weeks prior to the race (didn't really realize it until about a week in). I did about 20 miles two weeks prior to the race and 10 miles the week prior at a pretty slow rate.
Pre-race
Once I tested negative a couple of days in a row, decided to continue with the race. Ran 2 miles on Thursday and then flew out to Charleston, WV Friday morning. Drove down to Williamson for the Expo which is held at Belfry high school. I had already registered for the race so was able to quickly grab my bib, but you can register up till half an hour before the race. Lots of super friendly volunteers! Essentially no expo since it's so small. They have a spaghetti dinner that is included in registration. They had spaghetti, salad, cake, and drinks including Gatorade.
For dinner, had some pizza and chocolate milk, went to bed by 9PM. Woke up around 4:30 AM, had a couple of slices of cold pizza and Gatorade, did my stretches and left for downtown Williamson. A small bus was driving around picking up runners around 6:10. About a 5 minute drive over to Food City grocery store. Honestly, one of the weirder starts to a race, starting in the parking lot of a store, but it worked out really well! The store opens at 6 so runners were able to go in and grab coffee, use the bathroom and stay warm if needed. It was about 55F so lots of us took advantage of that.
Race
Started promptly at 7:00, about 170 running the marathon and about 110 running the half marathon. No staggered start since we didn't have that many people. Started running down US 119 with a few lanes blocked off with cones. Some rolling hills, but nothing too bad. Branch off on road along Blackberry Fork River. This is a two lane road and they don't block of the lanes so you have to keep an eye out for cars coming up from behind, but people are aware and drive pretty slow with lots of police presence. Lots of beautiful forests and mountains all around.
There were aid stations basically every single mile with ice cold water, gatorade, fruit, and other random snacks and such.
Around mile 3, a gentle hill starts but at mile 4 we hit the big hill and you go up about 500 ft in 3 miles and then drop that 500 ft in around 1.5 miles. It honestly wasn't that bad on the way up, after having running Atlanta and Asheville recently, I was feeling pretty good. Downhill was a little rough as I really had to keep the brakes on to prevent flying down the hill too fast and getting hurt.
Around mile 12 you end up on a back road with lots of dirt tracks, gravel, mud and running through some parks. Extremely pretty, though the gravel and mud definitely slowed my pace down. This continued till about mile 18. The rest of the way was back on roads for the most part. At 13.1 the half marathoners break off. There was a small hill at mile 23, honestly not the worst but hits harder than it should given how far into the race it was. Race finished in downtown so very easy walk to the parking lots. Not much fanfare at the finish line, there were some people dressed as a Hatfield and a McCoy to greet you at the finish line.
Post-race
They had some water and fruit, but not much else. Really huge medal, pretty fun though! It was a great race overall, missed my target of sub-5:00 but still pretty happy with it since I didn't want to overdo it post COVID. One of the few races I've done so far that I would honestly consider going back for. There are probably more volunteers than marathoners and everyone is extremely supportive. You are running through very small towns so not a lot of people but a good number still come out and cheer. Excellent bang for the buck!

2024.06.10 01:34 Duckiexxl Diy car garages

Hi everyone,
I recently moved in near MĂĄlaga (Pizarra) and I was wondering if there are diy garages anywhere nearby. Or perhaps a place or a guy that owns a hoist so I can work on my car easier. I know this concept is already not very familiar in the Netherlands, so I wonder if the Spanish do it. Any information would be appreciated.
Ps: how is the car scene around these parts of Spain? Did see some miatas driving around but nothing too special yet.
He visto algunos miatas circulando pero nada especial todavía.

2024.06.10 01:33 kiljonson Being deactivated for downloading Para app

I haven’t been officially deactivated as I can access the app, go online, wait for orders
that just stopped abruptly. I did download that fucking Para app. I didn’t get the memo. Apparently this has been known for a long time. The shitty thing is DD does not tell you you’ve been deactivated. They just let you drive around like an asshole with a doordash bikebag on your back, (giving them free advertising) meanwhile you don’t get orders. This company
they’re shady AF. They are very juvenile in their business behavior and ethics. After 5 years of being a top dasher, they just
 fcuk you off
all for downloading an app.
I’m a little more than pissed.

2024.06.10 01:24 born_tolove1 Many of today's problems may be attributed to social media, but what about the loss of skeumorphism?

Ok, so... I have a few words for this, but I want to start with the fact that I believe this goes beyond typical nostalgia and growing up. I'm going to try to base this on science?, rather than speculation, and I'd appreciate your input too.
Local on the 8s in 2009?
This presentation feels very calming and makes sense to me.
But what we basically had, at least back in 2006-2011 or so, was rampant skeuomorphism. If you had an old blackberry, Windows machine, or iPhone with iOS 6, you might have experienced skeuomorphism for longer.
Keep in mind that I am referring to the post 'frutiger aero'/'glassmorphism' which I think existed between the late 90s and late 2000s instead. By the way, these weren't terrible since they tried to integrate closer to things in our world - glassmorphism was, in a way, more futuristic to me and felt appropriate since we were looking through a glass screen. Frutiger aero also tried to incorporate nature, from the air to the land to the ocean, I think.
But skeumorphism basically had it all. It wasn't minimalist, far from it, which I think is extremely important.
We are animals, and barely removed from our evolution and instincts too. Regardless of our innovation, we are still, at the core, animals. Minimalism, abstractness, and uniformity seen in lots of software, hardware, and architecture is just not normal for our brains. It shouldn't be normal either. To give an example, here is the Local on the 8s in 2024:
Busy background image, advertisements, ugly simplified UI
See what I mean?
Here's another example:
iOS 6 vs iOS 14
This is disgusting!! Yeah, it's simpler, but it's also not human. I think that a human design is one which actually works with reality, with the tangible things we have and always have had. And I think this is where my point comes in - with the loss of skeumorphism comes the loss of our link to the real world.
We were probably happiest when the internet was left at home, on our desk. But if it had to come with us...why not make it familiar? All the old icons did for us was remind us of what we still could look forward to and interact with in our physical world. The new icons, for me, almost completely detach that feeling. And with people spending more time online, this is not a good thing.
Finally, here's an old blackberry:

In order to not clutter, I'll leave it here but please drop examples you know of and are familiar with!

2024.06.10 01:05 JamesCodaCoIa I've been shocked with nostalgia lately

Sorry if this is all vague and ill thought out, I'm in a weird place lately.
I've been having some health problems, and just generally having an existential crisis, so I've been comfort watching shows that were popular when I was in college- Community, New Girl, Happy Endings... and I remember that all of those shows are over a decade old. Hell, Community debuted in 2009. Jeff had a Blackberry in the first season, there's references to Bejeweled and President Obama during the show. Those are now out of date, old references. When the movie comes out (if), even the youngest characters will be in their mid-thirties, and Jeff and Shirley will both be over 50.
Last year, a documentary based on the book Meet Me In The Bathroom came out. The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, Interpol, that whole New York scene is over two decades old now. If someone caught a Strokes show and had a drunken hookup that night, that baby is now old enough to have their own drunken hookups at... I dunno, some Doja Cat concert now.
This is a very personal thing maybe, because a few of my friends are now married parents, and I'm still living in apartments and wondering what I really want to do with my life. My therapist told me he used to overthink and worry like me, then he had kids and now doesn't have time to do that. My old college friends likewise probably don't have to worry about where their dreams went, because little Dany (short for Daenrys) and little Barry have pre-K registration tomorrow.
I'm sort of in a weird place in life. I have a decent job, one that pays enough to pay for rent and bills with some left over... but I'm one of the many who might not ever own property. I've luckily kept my hair, the grey is confined to some stubble and a few hairs on the sideburns, and a decade of hardship has eliminated any potential laugh-line wrinkles. I still wear t-shirts and jeans and my shoe collection is almost exclusively ADIDAS or Vans. I look young-ish... but I'm not young. It's weird going to doctors and hearing about lifestyle changes to avoid what killed your older relatives, whereas before you just shrugged off any illness or injury with "no health insurance, yolo."
I know it's a cliche to think about how our generation had some odd stop-and-start moments, but we really did. We came of age in a decade with terrorist attacks and simultaneous wars and global financial collapses... then aged into a decade that started off promisingly and peaked with the Summer of Pokemon only to watch that collapse into the presidency of a garish Bond villain from one of the crappy Roger Moore movies and a worldwide pandemic that basically cut two years out of our lives and gave generations trauma, cynicism, conspiracy theories, and setbacks still being felt today.
When's our Roaring Twenties? Can we at least get a '90s Redux as adults? I was in school then, but the grown-up world seemed pretty sweet.

2024.06.10 00:49 ComfortableChange320 Help with electrolytes!!

TRIGGER - this involves non carnivore food
I love the carnivore diet and really have no issue getting on it, but a few times now I have had electrolyte issues where it has given me debilitating headaches and nausea and cramps, like today. I was bed ridden and had to order out delivery for Nu Salt and bone broth. I chugged those and felt so sick. Ultimately I ended up eating some natural sugars like Skyr and blackberries. I’m not upset about the break because I genuinely felt terrible. I’ll get right back on the horse no problem. So my question is how can I make sure this never happens again! It just throws a wrench in things. I use plenty of Redmonds in my food and water and I always take liquid ionic magnesium which is highly bioavailabile. I’m thinking maybe it’s the potassium I need to work on? Any thoughts. Do you guys have brands that work well for you? A lot of brands are just straight sodium. Does anyone have something that is potassium specific? Thanks all! Love this community glad we’re all here together.

2024.06.10 00:37 katalinathegreattt Sick (of everything) Leave

Ayun, as the title suggests, I filed an SL today. I had Sunday Scaries yesterday - the usual dread you have just thinking about the tasks you need to finish this upcoming week.
Pagbukas ko palang ng inbox kanina, I saw 40 new emails. Ever since last week, I’ve been emailing back and forth with 60 clients. Nadedrain na ako because I do all the work for this particular process. I handle 2 clients lang but this task is for an internal process.
My work is with numbers and it’s month-end closing. I know I should take this SL to rest pero the truth is, I’ll be working on my month-end tasks para lang hindi nila ako maistorbo. Nalalag na ako with those tasks because may bagong darating na emails. I can’t focus when there are unanswered emails na I know they’re expecting na sagutin ko kaagad.
We have a channel and the manager often tags me there or would ask questions. I’m known to reply fast kaya nandoon yung pressure kaso nawawala ako sa momentum na may isang task tapos may panibago na naman.
Alam ko na if I didn’t file an SL today, there will be another email blasts na ipapasend nila. Then, we have a meeting na feel ko would include the introduction of the new member. Then, we also have a training.
I’ll deal with the emails tomorrow. For now, I just want to sleep for a bit and later, work in peace
and just look forward to the improv show I’m going to see tomorrow night and the holiday we’ll have on Wednesday
. and plan for my resignation. 😂

2024.06.10 00:36 Chas-- Nikken's End 3A: The Alliance

Nikken's End 3A: The Alliance
"What distinguished the Indian system from that of the ancient Western world is the absence of slavery. The caste system made formal slavery unnecessary in ancient India." - from The Two Classes of the Four-Fold Caste System, by Sudheer Birodkar.
In Nikken's Threefold World, which is "the world of unenlightened beings who transmigrate within the Six Paths" ** [Hell, Hunger, Animality, Anger, Humanity and Heaven] ... the 3rd chapter describes the structure of Nikken's World of Animality.

Table of Contents

  1. A Question of Succession
  2. Minions of Takejizaiten
  3. The Alliance
  4. Departing the Enclave
  5. Preventing the Enclave
  6. Definition of Animality (Chikusho)
  7. Getting Some Help
  8. The Survivor Gita

1. A Question of Succession

When Nikkai Abe became 60th High Priest, it was after conspiring against Nissho 57th, who wanted to transfer to Nitchu 58th, then impeaching Nitchu 58th into an election against Nichiko Hori 59th, who was a weak High Priest and was driven out and succeeded by Nikkai. Nikkai was Nikken's father (sort of). So there is a history in Nichiren Shoshu of interfering with the succession of the High Priest.
Hence, the most likely scenario for the way the Survivor Gita will play itself out ... is an attempt at a coup during the succession of the Nichiren Shoshu priesthood.
This is because the weakest moment for those within the Brahmin (First Rank) enclave is when they perpetuate themselves once more with a new heir to the High Priest's chair. Jealousy within the enclave, at that critical point, is at it's peak, as status shifts and favors are granted and retracted. So, traitors abound, easy to find and use, with less concern for the group, and more for their own safety.
Outside the Brahmin enclave, those Kshatriya and Vaishya (Second and Third Rank) alliances, which are necessary for governance now become a danger to the status quo of the Brahmins.
This will be the only time that those power relationships can be used by those outside the enclave, to place themselves inside the ring of the elite.
The threat to the Brahmins is severe.
You never see a coup that allows the current Brahmin arrangements to persist. And all Brahminist successions are a coup on some level.

2. Minions of Takejizaiten

After a full-fledged and successful coup, those formerly inside the Brahmin enclave are invariably cast down to the bottom of the heap ... because Takejizaiten watches through the gloating eyes of his minions at the astonishing descent of the once mighty, and then he watches through the ascending and pre-emininent gloating eyes of the new ruling elite.
Only Dai-Rokuten-no-Mao, the Devil King of the Sixth Heaven, also known as Takejizaiten, really always wins the Survivor Gita, as an evil and necessary function of the life of all participants.
Dai-Rokuten-no Mao rules the Threefold World, which is the six worlds of Hell, Hunger, Animality, Anger, Humanity and Heaven from the highest realm of the Sixth Heaven of Desire. Those in the Threefold World, and even those who temporarily escape it through the three vehicles of Learning, Realization and the traditional Bodhisattva path will eventually be brought down through the sufferings of birth and death, which are his domain. He is the gatekeeper, preventing those without faith in the Lotus Sutra (the One Supreme Vehicle) from escaping those sufferings of birth and death.
Dai-Rokuten-no-Mao, who is extremely powerful, is only subordinated in the life of humanity, through Nichiren's Buddhism, as is shown on the Gohonzon.
Dai-Rokuten-no-Mao is located in the second rank on the right side of the Gohonzon, positioned beneath Namu Muhengyo Bosatsu (Bodhisattva Bound-less Practices), and between the two shoten zenjin: Dai Bontenno (Great Heavenly King Brahma) on the left and Dai Nittenno (Great Heavenly King Sun) on the right.
The side containment of Dai-Rokuten-no-Mao by the two Shoten Zenjin is the protective result of the correct practice of the Law, the determination for Kosen Rufu and not slandering the true teachings - from Namu Jogyo Bosatsu (Bodhisattva Superior Practices), who is overlooking everything from just over the left side of Muhengyo. Left of Jogyo are Taho, and on the other side of the Law itself, Shakyamuni, Jyogyo and Anryugyo keeping tabs on things, with the Four Heavenly Kings surrounding all the rest. The assembly is held aloft by Nichiren's devotion to the Wonderful Law of the Lotus Sutra.
The containment of Dai-Rokuten-no-Mao on the bottom, comes from T'ien-T'ai Chih-i, whose ichinen sanzen provides the blueprint, or layout of the Lotus Sutra: and this is the highest wisdom of the Lotus Sutra.
Namu Muhengyo Bosatsu (Bodhisattva Bound-less Practices) keeps the lid on the evil function of Dai-Rokuten-no-Mao from the top. See the map below:
http://www.buddhastate.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/gohonzon_map.pdf
More than anything in the world, Takejizaiten (the Devil king's more common name, also Tenji-ma) requires the correct practice of faith in Nichiren's Buddhism and the Gohonzon, which will ultimately lead to his permanent confinement. Only faith in the Lotus Sutra and the Gohonzon will satisfy him, and cause him to surrender control of his domain.
Takejizaiten rewards those minions who do his bidding with a foul rapture, so they will take any risk to attempt to participate in the denouement (on the winning side) of his past minion and current victim, and watch every detail of what happens to them.
Watching the denunciation or perp-walk, or the complete downfall and destruction of his past minions, is most important to his current minions. By getting as many people to gloat as possible, he gains strength and power to cause more mischief in human life.
Ultimately, only faith in the Lotus Sutra, when it is spread widely, will cause Takejizaiten to cease his activities in the world. In the appropriate circumstances, he can instigate a reign of terror, or an apocalypse.

3. The Alliance

In the era of Nikken, Nichijyun (Shinkyo) Fujimoto, the General Director of Nichiren Shoshu, and Nisshi (Kotoku) Obayashi, the Overseas Bureau chief priest and chief priest of Myoko-ji temple have been planning and moving carefully for decades.
Nichijyun has positioned himself as King of the Gakkai-haters. He is the one who crafted and delivered the notification of expulsion for the Soka Gakkai, with the careful exceptions for provisions which are revenue-enhancing like Tozan and Ceremonies, but without exception for Gojukai, retaining control of dispensing Gohonzon. This kept the money flowing, but provided a means to rip away Gakkai members into the Hokkeko. (This did not work very well, of course.)
Nichijyun and Obayashi have spared no effort and no expense to please the whims of the Brahmin families in the first rank of Nichiren Shoshu prestige. There is never a limit to any profligate spending, never a criticism of any vice or excess ... and yet every single action is carefully noted.
Every excess enjoyed or instance of bad behavior from any member of the Brahmin elite is made as public as possible, and witnesses are recorded.
This Nikken era pig has been fattened endlessly, and choked with excess ... until the appointed time of slaughter.
Any time a slight or insult could be made to a lesser priest, or their family by Nikken's relatives, no opportunity is missed, and every ill is amplified to the maximum extent. Every special favor is openly flaunted to the utmost.
The fever pitch of jealousy and hostility to Nikken's Gang of Six Families, has been slowly and carefully fostered and fed ... until the silent roar of spite and hatred is deafening.
And the devastating case against each individual which can be brought to bear is a sword of Damocles, silently hanging over the heads of the elite. Acts like the replacement of Cho'on Shiba by Shogu Kimura are now done so openly that it is clear that the six powerful Taisekiji families ARE the owners of everything AND everyone in Nichiren Shoshu.
But they are poised over a precipice. And pulling them over the side is a mountainous weight of evidence and venomous personal testimony that cannot be contradicted.
And with Nisshi Obayashi on his side Nichijyun is invulnerable to counter-attack. No breakaway group of Nichiren Shoshu Temples in Japan will be a match to the group Nichijyun Fujimoto controls, augmented by the Overseas Bureau's network of Temples. Any claim to worldwide operations rests with this Alliance, alone.
But wait ... any group of Japanese Temples might do just as well ...
... Obayashi is the real King-maker here. Even a small group of Japanese Temples with the augmentation of the Overseas Bureau will constitute the winning hand. And he can make the play at any time, even after the assurance of victory, and the settling of accounts ... if he can keep control of the Overseas Bureau.
This must be why he so carefully shifts people in and out of his operation, always having many chief secretary priests ... no one knows the whole of it, where all the bodies are buried, but Obayashi. Crafty fellow, and verrrry well prepared.
... Not that Obayashi isn't Nichijyun's man, of course.
No one is more obviously positioned to take over Nichiren Shoshu than Nichijyun. He could do so at any time, there is sooooo much evidence. All he needs is a pretext.
... And if Nichijyun mis-steps and trips up, well ... Obayashi can be flexible, and Taisekiji is surely stronger than the fortunes of any single priest or family. And if Fujimoto makes trouble ? ... there is also abundant evidence of his imperfections as well ...
But Nichijyun is the ONE ... for now.

4. Departing the Enclave

And you wondered why Prince Siddharta fled the Brahmin enclave of the Shakyas to be with the common mortals and try to find an answer to the sufferings of birth and death? The Shakyas were overthrown and destroyed during his life, and the result would not have been different if he had stayed, except for him and his legacy to the world.
Leaving the enclave to join the common mortals, who are the true Buddha is an enlightened act, the first step IS all of it: you have already won.
From "The True Aspect of All Phenomena", WND p. 384:
A common mortal is an entity of the three bodies, and a true Buddha. A Buddha is a function of the three bodies, and a provisional Buddha. In that case, though it is thought that Shakyamuni Buddha possesses the three virtues of sovereign, teacher, and parent for the sake of all of us living beings, that is not so. On the contrary, it is common mortals who endow him with the three virtues.
"A common mortal is ... a true Buddha". And Nichiren and Shakyamuni are endowed with the three virtues of sovereign, teacher, and parent by the common mortal, who is the true Buddha.
Which is why the act of a priest to take his temple to the reform movement, departing forever from the reach of the Brahmin enclave and Takejizaiten, and joining the Untouchables in the SGI is such an absolutely correct path.
It is such a relief not to be a minion of Takejizaiten.

5. Preventing the Enclave

So, what was supposed to prevent all this from happening in the Fuji School? And for SGI members, how do we prevent the same thing from happening to us?
Assuming the correct practice of the Lotus Sutra, the determination for Kosen Rufu and protection of the true teachings ... the Boundless Practices of Muhengyo is all that would be missing. So, what are those?
In all cases, for the organization to expand and propagate itself without limits, in other words to be scalable for growth ... the phenomenon of Brahminism must never be allowed to persist. It WILL spontaneously form, since Takejizaiten is present in all of us. But what suppresses and contains Takejizaiten?
For the widespread propagation by the Fuji School, Muhengyo' Boundless Practices are Nikko Shonin's 26 Admonitions. In many ways, it lays out how not to emulate other Japanese and Asian Buddhist priests. And in particular it clearly requires adherence to the practice of sexual abstinence for priests and the expectation of that behavior in priests by the laity, with demotions to the lowest rank if violated (one presumes that constant repetition of the violation would make a priest a lay member, and that marriage and family would immediately cause that permanent change of status).
The intent of Nikko Shonin is obvious: if the priests all start out as lay members, from lay families, and cannot have families of their own ... then you cannot easily form a Brahmin class, through hereditary succession and nepotism. People simply have too much empathy for their own original lay family, for their Mom and Dad. And the laity take the place of their own natural children.
The reversal of that intent by the government during the Meiji Restoration did not remove the superseding requirement for priests of the Fuji School laid down in Nikko Shonin's 26 Admonitions.
For the widespread propagation by the Soka Gakkai, Muhengyo's Boundless Practices were instituted by Josei Toda, just prior to his death, when he turned over the Kosen Rufu movement to the Youth Division.
When the Youth Division run everything ... then there is far less opportunity for even a temporary self-sustaining Brahminist group ... since leadership is attained in the thirties and ends in the thirties. The baton is passed quickly and repeatedly.
Wherever the SGI and Soka Gakkai follow Mr. Toda's intent, things work very well. Ultimately, it is clear that the Youth Division need to be running everything that is important, at all levels of the organization. They need help and support from the past Youth (like the four bodhisattvas and two Buddhas keeping a permanent eye on Takejizaiten), but the Youth Division need to be making the decisions, and they need to be the ones taking responsibility for the results.
After all, you can be President of the United States at age 35 !!!
Being honest about it, young people tend to go off and do things, rather than endlessly talk about it. Sometimes redoing is necessary ... but young people can do things 4 or 5 times from the beginning, in the time it takes mature people (like myself) just to get started !!!
Young people tend to be more likely to be accepting of the new methods, like communications and the web, which aids the growth of the organization and success for campaigns. [See "creative mimesis" in Toynbee.]
In either the case of Fuji School, or Soka Gakkai (SGI) ... it is the willingness to hand over power to the children of the laity as a follower of Nikko, or hand over power to the children ... that really satisfies the faith requirements of Takejizaiten, the guardian bulldog at the gate. It is the action made - based on the faith that the common mortal is in fact the true Buddha.
But that's only an issue now in the SGI, which is a healthy organization.
Nichiren Shoshu at Taisekiji is quite a different place, and is constantly poised for a monstrous struggle for control, from the rampant misdeeds of the Brahmin elite.

6. Definition of World of Animals (Chikusho)

From the SGI Dictionary:
http://www.nichirenlibrary.org/en/dic/Content/W/46#para-0
world of animals 畜生界 (Jpn chikushƍ-kai): Also, realm of animals or world of animality. The third of the Ten Worlds and one of the three, and the four, evil paths. When viewed as a state of life, the world of animals is a condition governed by instinct, in which one has no sense of reason or morality. Beings or persons in this world stand in fear of the strong but despise and prey upon those weaker than themselves. In The Object of Devotion for Observing the Mind, Nichiren defines the characteristic of this world as "foolishness," which is one of the three poisons.

7. Getting Some Help

If you are a Nichiren Shoshu Priest, or a Hokkeko member from anywhere in the world, and are thinking about switching to the SGI call (310) 260-8900 or contact the Headquarters at SGI Plaza.
Tell them that you are a Nichiren Shoshu Priest or Hokkeko member, and wish to speak to someone about the SGI, and what to do.

8. The Survivor Gita

Nikken, the self-appointed Usurper King of the Rats at Taisekiji, has been replaced by Nichinyo, who is an angry member of the elite, due to too many blows to the head in fights. A little punchy, he rules from weakness, since Nikken publicly had plans for his son to take over.
One thing that is known for certain: There will be a new Rat King. And then there will be another.
Another thing that is known for certain: All the alliances will change, and more than once. Anyone that has watched Survivor knows this.
Rule Number Zero:
The War of the Rodents can only be won by ... King Rat.
More to come ... These questions will be answered !!!

Not cool.
Saw this at an SFO men’s bathroom. Whoever you are, life is much better now than before. At least you got rid of the fake.

2024.06.09 23:45 Electrical-Photo2788 Early luggage drop off Avianca, Bogota

We will be flying into Bogota from Europe with KLM and will continue with Avianca on a seperate ticket to Guayaquil. So I guess, Check-In/Security/migration again. Which is OK
Our connection is 7 hours. So it's very decent and I am pretty sure we will make our transfer. However, we don't want to wait so long with luggage at landside for the luggage drop off.
Since Bogota is the hub for Avianca, Is it possible to drop off the luggage lets say 6 hours before instead of 3?
Anybody experience? Or someone from Bogota Airport / Avianca that can give me straight answer?
Would very much appreciate it since we are travelling with a baby and would like to go airside and make use of the Wait 'n Rest bedrooms with our Priority Passes. That's the actual reason...
Thanks in advance!
Google translate:
