First I'll tell you a short story from the ancient times and at the end I'll give you new interesting reason why some Intelligent Life forms all over the world might be extremely introvert and solipsistic and not technically developed. After i finishen my last project of making 55' Levi's I thought I'd try my hands at another classic, Wrangler's Coboy Cut.
I was lucky enough to find some 14oz broken twill denim from KSDenim. The hardware including thread was sourced from Citron Jeans.
It was a bit of a challenge to adjust the design to fit a selvedge fabric. I also like the look of a flat felled inseam so that had to change as well as straightening the side seams. My vintage machine only does straight stitch anyway so some alterations were inevitable.
Some other changes were lengthened pockets to better fit a phone and a custom back pocket leather patch. 3d printing and a lot of pressure did the trick.
Ended up very happy with how they turned out. They are surprisingly comfortable right out of the gate.

As the title says, really.
I’m posting this because I went searching for a post like this one a few weeks ago when I was feeling conflicted, so I thought, now that I’ve done it, I’ll put this here in case it’s helpful to anyone else going through the same thing.
I’m not sure if this is breaking any rules, please remove if so.
I was due to married in the first week of July. Everything was organised, RSVPs were confirmed, there were only a few invoices left, vast majority had already been paid. My ex-fiancé and I had no financial help so it was all our money, not parents. We had ~100 people coming.
I’ve been deeply unhappy and thinking about calling it off/ leaving my ex-fiancé for about 5 months. Every time we had a fight (very often) I would ask myself ‘why am I still in this?’. It stopped feeling right, my gut was telling me to leave.
But, I didn’t. I always backed off with thoughts like: It would be a spectacle, I’d be too mortified, people are coming from overseas, people have booked flights and accommodation, I can’t inconvenience everyone like that, we’ve spent over $30,000, I can’t just throw that money away.
One of the many reasons I was unhappy was my ex’s gambling problem (pokies/ slot machines). He’s made and broken promises many times, it’s getting worse not better. Last week, he lied to me about it for the first time (well, I think it was the first time, maybe it was just the first time I caught him). It was the straw that broke the camel’s back, I snapped, and I told him we’re done. He verbally abused me over text, made me the bad guy and himself the victim. He’s now blocked my phone number and social media accounts so I can’t contact him and he’s refusing me entry to our home to pack my things. All this has done is reinforced my faith in my decision.
To the point! I’ve just finished cancelling the venue and all our vendors, and telling my family and friends. And, I’m going to be ok. I got through it, people were kind and supportive, no one gave me a hard time, people reassured me I’m doing the right thing and I don’t need to feel embarrassed. (I still do, but it’s nice to hear.)
It felt insurmountable before I did it. I couldn’t possibly!
It wasn’t, I could, and I did.
I’ve got lots of healing and processing to do now, but I’m going to be ok and a lot happier than I would have been if I’d married him. I’m 36, and I accept that I likely won’t find someone else in time to have a family and all that jazz, but that’s better than being miserably married.

Hello, everyone. I'm out of my hibernation with another important message for you all and I know that just makes you so fucking happy and excited.
I wanted to remind everyone to check out my blog, which is one of the last bastions of free speech that is left in this god-forsaken place.
Alright, now that I have officially tongued my own asshole to the point where pleasure turns to dysphoria, allow me to present to you: total bullshit!
... and some other things.
Let's talk about choices. We make them everyday; life is all about them. This is a somewhat true statement - because life is really all about making sure you don't wake up - and choices play a significant role in this operation. Probably not so big a role as language, however, because language is the most deceptive tool in the arsenal of the ones with the power, so it is important that we choose our words wisely.
For example, I keep hearing the phrase "forced vaccinations" or "mandatory vaccinations" being thrown around conspiracy forums, and this phrase, in itself, is an example of the deceptive power of words. We need to be honest with ourselves - because through honesty the truth is exposed - and the truth is the most well hidden part of this experience because the ones in power work to keep the truth hidden at all costs... because the truth will "set you free". But I digress. No one was forced to get vaccinated - not yet, anyway - so let's be honest about this: you might have chosen to take the jab, in order to keep your job, or you might have chosen to take the jab, in order to participate in society. This is a choice that you are making. Perhaps the stakes are high and you had a lot to lose if you chose not to take the jab; but until they are breaking down your door, holding you down, and sticking that needle in your arm - until that time - you are giving your consent to take the jab.
This distinction is an important one to discern because we should be paying attention to the parts in life that are forced upon us and the parts in life that we are choosing to consent to. For example, no one forced us to wear masks for an entire year, but we all (for the most part) consented to doing so, in order to participate in society. We all chose to stand on the circles on the floor, in every checkout line, of every store. We made this choice for many different reasons - but in this community - many of us simply did this for other peoples "perceived well being". In other words, we were catering to the people that make up the majority and aren't as far along in the process of "waking up" as we are... although, many people seem to be choosing to remain asleep - for many different reasons - far from the most insignificant being "fear based programming".
Allow me to share my perspective: for an entire year, we all wore masks in public: an action which is gradually weakening our immune system. Also in public, we practiced "social-distancing": an action that is also gradually weakening our immune systems. Many people - the drooling masses - took this social-distancing b.s. very seriously, for their own "perceived well being" (while virtue-signaling online that they were doing it for everyone else). So, the government asked us to all make a choice: to wear masks and social-distance for a year and - oh - almost forgot! Hand sanitizer - all over, suddenly - some so strong that it seems to be pure rubbing alcohol - killing all germs - and, well... gradually weakening our immune systems! The government had us all compromising our immune systems and overall health, in preparation to get vaccinated with something that sounds... frankly, batshit insane. Do you think this was all an accident? An innocent faux-pas on the part of our dear leaders? I think this was done intentionally. I've also prepared this meme, to help illustrate the conspiracy in question:
The inspiration for this actually came from a post in that was written by someone who is, by no means, an anti-vaxxer, and overall still happy to be vaccinated... because the debilitating side-effects, self-replicating spike proteins is nothing compared to the constant onslaught of fear-based programming.
"Trust the science". That's the last thing I think I'll do; thank you very much. Science is a bullshit factory specializing in limiting beliefs, which uses language to support any point of view that it chooses to support... and of course the point of view we are inundated with, in excess, is that of the ones in power. So please know that if you choose to educate me in the comments, about why the science behind social distancing, face masks and hand sanitizer is to our benefit then I'm either going to think you are being intentionally deceitful, or I will feel sorry for you because you have sincerely become this invested in the wrong direction of practices that are to your benefit.
The moral of the story is that the words we use need to be chosen carefully, because when we choose words such as "forced" and "mandated", we are only working to deceive ourselves further away from the truth. The truth is that we are consistently bombarded with propaganda and manipulation, from the many resources available to the power structure, with the goal of getting our consent. The internet has been a great resource for the power structure to use for minimizing the power of consent. We must constantly "agree" to the terms and conditions that are made to be intentionally agonizing to read and understand. We are being trained to believe that consent is of little value or importance - consent is nothing more than a single click - in order to get to the prize on the other side. The truth may be that our consent is far more valuable than we realize: our consent is one of our most valuable assets.
We need to pay attention to the effect that our consent has on our shared reality - because if there is one thing I learned, after experiencing psychosis - it's that the greatest sin is often committed by very kind people: the kind of people who are timid, helpful, and generous to a point where others take advantage of their kind, benevolent nature. Everyone knows someone who is in a relationship with a manipulative, controlling narcissist that walks all over them. Everyone knows someone who is kind, meek, and respectful of others... because they have no backbone. Someone who has lived a life of avoiding any and all conflict, at all costs, and chooses instead to allow others to take advantage of them. When you habitually allow others to walk all over you, this is your consent that "it's ok for others to do this to me". You are a worse person that the one who is violating you, because you think that it is ok for this to happen to you.
Alright - that was just to set the mood for the actual post - which will begin..... ........ ......... now.
CHOICES: PATRIOTIC EDITION
In the spirit of (shudder) "the most free country on Earth" we're going to (I had a bad reaction to typing that just now, I find the idea to be suffocating and repulsive) talk about choices in red, white and blue. To be perfectly honest, I don't know that much about topics like "color programming", or the exact science and reasoning behind it; I just know that this color palette is used with enough frequency and in a way where there is likely some intent behind it. Perhaps it's as simple as feeling patriotic about democracy, constitutional rights, and other deceptive concepts that are total bullshit - or maybe - the meaning behind it goes far deeper, into the psychological manipulation that is induced by this particular color palette. When I saw that the magnet shared the same red/blue color palette, I realized that these colors are likely being used in order to put each individual into a state of polarization.

Being alive involves the near constant activity of making choices. We are indoctrinated with the idea that having more choices is desirable. The power construct that is manufacturing reality has recently gone into overdrive in the manufacturing of choices. As the information age progresses through time, the amount of choices is becoming an ever increasing burden on the collective consciousness. The choices are presented using many different angles. A popular example is beliefs, which are currently being exploited by the manufacturers of choices more than any other time in the collective memory*...* which is always followed closely by the collective amnesia. Choices are deeply rooted in the DIVIDE AND CONQUER strategy, an all time favorite of the power construct. Choices are now being utilized in another favorite strategy for maintaining control: ORDER OUT OF CHAOS. Choices have an important role in the MANUFACTURING OF CONSENT, which is highly valued by the power construct. Consent is the oil that keeps the reality machine running smoothly, which is why so much effort is put into the illusion that consent has very little value. This illusion is concealed very well within the fabric of the intangible idea of reality that is overlaying the physical, material reality and has been so successful that consent is given almost instantaneously and without a second thought. Meanwhile, the illusion of value that has been given to currency is as strong as ever: remaining in its long-held position as one of the "pillars of control", which supports and maintains the power construct. The other pillar of control: the illusion of legitimacy, which several institutions within the power construct rely on, has been under maintenance, as a new version is being installed. While the anticipation for this new update slowly builds, the grand master illusion behind the power construct: FEAR BASED PROGRAMMING, - that's it - I'm giving up on this now. They're fucking plastic robots that hit each other until one of their heads... pops a boner?
CHOICE # 2
A theme that seems to always accompany color-based choices emerges: everyone on the outside, looking in, sees an absolutely pointless rivalry. These dudes are victims of mind control.
Well, after choice # 1 resulted in a train wreck of disjointed abstractions trying way too hard to be deep, meaningful observations, I am troubled by the thought of how many readers have probably given up on this. I want everyone that is still with me to know that, due to irrational fears about what anonymous online profiles might think about me, I will now focus primarily on "fitting in" and being likeable, by employing a strategy of trying very hard to not express any more ideas that might be considered "out there". Obviously, this is just the result of growing up poor and uneducated in the ghetto. I mean, who is crazy enough to actually believe that this is somehow connected to other rivalry's that use... very similar hues of red and blue. I mean, they are two of the most popular colors out there - both primary - and... realistically, there aren't that many colors; especially that complement each other like red and blue... ahh, blue and red: the colors of rivalry. There's no deep conspiracy here. Obviously, these guys wear these colors so they know who their enemies are... because, otherwise, there is no reason to kill each other. This is all about the colors. It would be completely pointless otherwise and these guys would probably get on well and hang out in each other's back yards... and then the cops would have nothing to do, which would be a waste of tax payer dollars. Can't have cops just standing around eatin' donuts and getting fat.
CHOICE # 3
Coke & Pepsi. A classic rivalry that makes me proud to live in a free country, where great ideas like capitalism can flourish. I know that they are made by the same company, but I don't really think that matters, ya know?
We are presented with choices. Our choices shape our opinions. So, if I choose red - I mean - Coke, then I will get along with others who choose Coke and we will agree that we chose correctly and that the people that prefer blue - I mean - Pepsi, chose incorrectly. Well, the people that chose blue think they chose correctly and that it is, in fact, the red people that chose incorrectly. This is a conflict of interests, and conflicts create division. People who are divided require a non-biased mediator so that order can be maintained and, because this mediator cares about the safety of both the red and the blue groups, it only makes sense that they should be given the authority to decide what is ok and is not ok for both groups. This is the most rational and logical option because the authority isn't biased towards red or blue, which means they will know what's best for everyone's interests. The police are there to make sure that all red and all blue people are all following all of the all-inclusive rules, mandated by the mediator, and all this is done for the greater good of society. I - I'm gonna get all choked up over here, just thinking about how nice the government is to do all that it does for us. They protect us from those fucking freaks that drink Pepsi. God I fucking hate those sub-human blue-tards! Red people generally have more money and are more successful, which means they are smarter. What started as a small neighborhood feud between Coke and Pepsi is actually how the gang warfare between the Bloods & Crips originated. That's right, they got the colors from Coke and Pepsi, which obviously is a lot more likely than a vast conspiracy involving powerful people manipulating reality in order to maintain control and power over the uninitiated masses. Fuck poor people. Oh, and how about those people that make their preference for Coke or Pepsi an aspect of their personality? They don't seem to understand that the color of the can is the only fucking difference. That's why I stick with Tab Cola, for those unmistakable metallic flavors and the uncomfortable, sticky feeling all over my body the next day.
CHOICE # 4
They're the exact same store except for the fact that one is red and one is blue... and yet, you have a preference for one over the other. You made up some reasons for why they are different in your head, because you are under an immense amount of mind control.
Ahh... consumerism**:** the arena of pointless choices. Why does only one company manufacture all the different brands of eyeglasses? Perhaps... to have control over the market? No - to have control over you, stupid - and no: this isn't a joke. It's a desperate plea, urging you to wake up and see this shit for what it really is, while you have this opportunity - this window - into the illusion. You see, they are getting desperate - and lately, the world seems like it has gone mad - which is part of their strategy, which is preventing you from seeing it. Why do you think there are suddenly twenty new M&M's flavor combinations? All these new Reese's Peanut Butter Cup's with minor alterations of essentially the same fucking thing? Let me guess: they're just having fun... right? Trying to stir up interest in candy bars? Or maybe for profit... right? This is just a business strategy to get your money... right? No... no... I'm afraid you're thinking way too small... with your logic and reason and all the other LIMITING BELIEFS that you have been - and are being - indoctrinated with: every fucking day! These are all pointless choices (brought to you by consumerism) that are trying to keep you distracted. Trying to keep your mind occupied. Why is Netflix trying to induce option paralysis? Why are the high-tech gadgets we use for entertainment purposes bombarding us with a constant onslaught of ads, new articles, stories, and a maddening amount of pointless bullshit?!?!?! They want you to be overwhelmed*;* they want you to freeze. They want you to have no sense of identity. They want life to overwhelm you with an endless list of pointless shit that has to get done in order to maintain... in order to maintain... to maintain what? THE ILLUSION, IDIOT. Ok: that was uncalled for. I don't think you're an idiot. I think that you know, in the bottom of your cold, gray heart , that the crazy shit I am saying sounds right (for some reason). They are manipulating reality in order to keep you under their power and control. I don't exactly know why, but I do know that they care a lot more about you being distracted than they care about worthless green paper. You know what? I bet the 1% doesn't give a shit about money: they simply have all of it just to piss you off. Why is all this corruption in the news all the time? The next fucking scandal that everyone can talk about? WHY is the news telling us to wear masks, get vaccinated and then, the following week, admitting COVID-19 is a bio-weapon? TO KEEP YOU DISTRACTED. THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO THEM. Oh, and Walmart and Target's LOGOS both contain some occult symbolism. Yep: Target's logo is the astrological symbol for the sun and Walmart's logo is the Star of David... with the hexagon in the middle. The hexagon is symbolic of the cube. Once you understand that you can't not see the cube*.* It's fucking weird - but also a conversation for another time - when we can discuss why all of these well-known corporate LOGOs are symbolic of Saturn:

You know what? I think I should devote a large portion of my life to watching a bunch of overpaid, mentally compromised, grown-ass men chase a ball around. I also think I should be passionate about the team that is closest to me in geographical proximity. This is not mind control, but as a conspiracy realist, I do like to point out that MK Ultra really did happen, and the CIA really did experiment with mind control back in the 1950's, but the program ended decades ago. I like to go on online conspiracy forums, and help people understand the reality of conspiracy theories, so they don't get sucked into lies like Q-anon or lizard people or THIS POST, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY THE WORK OF A MENTALLY UNSTABLE INDIVIDUAL.
Watching sports makes me feel safe, and comfortable, because it distracts me from all the bullshit of everyday life. It's good to have a nice distraction - and fill my mind with useless sports stats - or talk endlessly with the bro's about individual players strength's and weaknesses - in a boring, monotonous tone of voice - while I sip domestic piss-water beer. I don't want to think too deeply about things because it starts to make me really uncomfortable when I have to confront reality. I'd rather just not worry about it and see what happens. Who am I but a lowly speck of insignificant, worthless dog shit in this giant, scary universe, where I am completely powerless to do anything but take whatever beating the world feels like dishing out to me that day? I am so sick of the average Redditor - who thinks they're smart because they're an atheist who understands science - arguing with me, using all their SUPER-BELIEVABLE LIMITING BELIEFS. I know on Reddit it's hard to tell who is real and who ... isn't real - but these people are seemingly the majority now - and they're fucked. They don't even actually understand what science is. Science isn't chopping off your dick to be a woman. Let's talk about the actual scientist who performed many series of actual scientific experiments to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that people are able to control material reality with only the use of their minds. Why doesn't anyone ever want to talk about THAT science?
What it seems is that every thing in this world - every institution, religion, and academic study - has been corrupted to keep us under control. The people that are in control of this world have access to esoteric knowledge that they have hidden from the masses to keep for themselves. This knowledge involves the ability to manipulate reality, which they use for power and keeping the rest of us down and powerless. From what I can tell, the thing they don't want us to know is that we are powerful beings, with capabilities that have been hidden and unused. Every person needs to understand that they are a powerful being that doesn't need any help or anyone to save them. WE have the power to control our own destiny. If the majority would start believing in their power and themselves, we would have a chance at ending this shitty reality manipulation and living as non-dual beings of love - as the true source of creation made us - powerful, independent beings with everything we need, and no need to evolve or learn shitty lessons about suffering. Unfortunately, it seems like most people would prefer to keep their creature comforts, believe that this isn't as bad as I am making it sound, and remain here, in the safety of familiarity... away from the fear of the unknown. And that makes me so fucking sad that it brings tears to my eyes.

Logan the bounty hunter was in a really bad mood.
It all started when the coffee machine stopped working. This wasn’t a rare occurrence; in fact, it was the third time this cycle, but this time his go-to solution (taking out and reinserting the star powder battery) didn’t fix it, and he was all out of ideas.
It’s not that the caffeine even did anything for him. The nanomachines in his system filtered out many sorts of potentially addictive or harmful substances, and for some reason this included caffeine, which is a fact he only realized after the seven-cycle refund period had passed.
Still, it was an old habit and an act of comfort that he sorely felt the absence of.
That was the first thing. The second thing was that his tracker had stopped working. In fact, his entire connection to the galactic wide web (gww) had gone down. Without the tracker, he couldn’t pinpoint the exact location of his current bounty—a low-class deathworlder wanted for kidnapping and trafficking—which kind of made his whole bounty hunting business difficult to do.
Oh, and his ship had crashed.
Damn thing was overdue for maintenance, and the autopilot had started malfunctioning while flying over a small dusty-brown planet. It had taken some careful manual maneuvering and some buffeting about in the planet’s whirlwind atmosphere, but eventually he had managed the miracle of walking away from a smoking and unsalvageable wreckage with only minor cuts and bruises.
Here he was now, trudging through the sandy windswept dunes of a planet that hadn’t even showed up on the map. Armed with little more than a spacesuit, a blaster, and an undying will. And wishing he’d had that cup of coffee (and wasn’t immune to caffeine).
Logan raised a hand to his eyes, peering through the thick glass of his visor. There was so much dust and sand swirling around that it made it quite hard to see where he was going, not that there were any landmarks in sight anyway. It looked scorching hot outside, though his spacesuit registered a cool 286 Kelvin for some reason. Likely another malfunction, one that he’d rather not put to the test.
On a planet like this, he supposed, everyone (if anyone was even here) probably lived under the surface where it was probably cooler and probably free from sandstorms. All he had to do was find the entrance to their underground tunnels among all this shifting sand.
The chance of that happening was, unfortunately, not very high. Still, Logan wasn’t panicking yet; he’d been through worse, he thought. He’d been through jungles teeming with 8-foot beetles. Survived massive hiveminds circling to entrap him, faced slippery slimes that reformed their bodies to resemble those he held dearest. Horrible learning experiences, those.
That being said, sometimes it’s the mundane problems that pose the greatest threats of all. Starvation, aching thirst, and a dwindling oxygen supply while wandering a barren desert. It wouldn’t be a glamorous way to go out, and Logan was wracking his brain for ideas.
Now would’ve been a good time to use his rescue beacon, if he had one. This would be his, what, 127th bounty? And until now, he’d never had to use a beacon. Stopped carrying one a dozen bounties ago. Maybe it was just luck, but things had always gone pretty smoothly, and maybe he’d gotten a little overconfident.
Logan knelt down and grasped at the ground, watching the little grains of sand sift through his gloved fingers. Those little specks seemed to shimmer and flicker, like a low quality hologram call. Otherwise, though, they seemed normal; surprisingly similar to the sand he remembered from Earth. It made sense that some things remained the same throughout the universe; it’s not like every planet could re-invent the periodic table, after all. Even aliens had to remain grounded in reality, however loosely.
He looked down. According to his suit’s display, he had a few hours of oxygen left. He’d been walking for a while now with nothing but the sands to show for it. He also had to pee. It was really going quite terribly.
“It looks like you’re doing quite terribly,” a voice said, velvety and welcoming. Logan jerked his head up, blinking rapidly in surprise.
Standing before him, with crossed arms and a smoldering look, was a lithe, dusky-furred humanoid. They—or she, judging by the feminine face—was wearing a long, thin shawl translucent enough to reveal a pair of twitching, swiveling ears and a questioningly arced tail, swaying in the wind.
The feline features were unmistakable. It was, by all accounts, a catgirl.
Mentally, Logan pumped his arm and jumped for joy. Just wait until the guys back at Earth heard about this! Many a novice pilot first set out for the stars with dreams of catgirls and other alien babes in mind, but thus far, most alien species had been decidedly strange and eerily-shaped, though this didn’t stop everyone from pursuing them. Outwardly, though, he nodded, and rasped, “I could use some help. Do you know about this thing called ‘oxygen’?”
The catgirl frowned. “Great way to say hi to a girl. But yes, you aren’t the first traveler to crash-land on Shaw Prime. Follow me.”
“Oh, great,” Logan said. How convenient. “Where to?”
“My people live underground, hidden from the elements within a complex system of—”
“Tunnels? I knew it.”
The catgirl turned around and whipped her tail against Logan’s leg. It kind of stung for a moment. “I don’t know what culture you come from, traveler, but in mine, it’s rude to interrupt someone while they’re speaking. Especially if they’re the host and you, the guest.”
Logan rubbed the back of his head (or tried to, but the spacesuit got in the way). “Sorry. Just got excited. Interrupting someone speaking is actually considered rude in my culture, too.”
“So you should’ve known better.” The catgirl harrumphed and started marching forward, waving her tail to signal him to follow. He shrugged and started trudging along behind her.
“So where am I, exactly? ‘Shoe Prime’ you said earlier, I think?”
“Shaw Prime,” she corrected. “A small sand planet on the outermost reaches of the nearest solar system. Quite uninhabitable for most, and all our visitors arrive unwillingly.”
“I see. It certainly feels inhospitable. And,” Logan said, jumping in place a couple times, “you’ve got decently strong gravity, though less than where I come from. You know, this feels like at least a minor deathworld to me.”
“The term ‘deathworld’ is new to me, but it does seem fitting enough.”
“Right. I’m guessing the Galactic Federation hasn’t gotten around to marking your planet yet. Actually, your planet didn’t even show up on my map; people might not even know that civilization exists here. Huh.” It would be the first time for Logan to discover a new species. He could report this back home, and hopefully get handsomely rewarded for it.
“The ‘Galactic Federation’? I haven’t heard that term before. What does it mean?”
“That’s the big alliance formed by all the space-faring species of the known universe. They’re basically responsible for everything, including first official contact with new species like yours.” Logan paused a moment. “Wait, you said I’m not the first traveler to land here, right? How have you not heard of the Galactic Federation before?”
The catgirl’s ears twitched, but she didn’t look back. “They must have neglected to mention it.”
“Weird. Surely someone must’ve mentioned it. The Federation’s got these rules for first contact, see, and—”
“We’re almost there.” The catgirl interrupted, glancing back at him with those smoky eyes. “The hidden entrance to the tunnels lies just ahead.”
Logan peered through his visor. Ahead of his guide’s slim figure, he saw nothing but more of the same brown hues. A sudden uneasiness prickled his skin. “Where? I don’t see anything.”
“If you could see it, it wouldn’t be very hidden, would it? Come on.”
She beckoned him forward, and a few paces later, stopped entirely. She crouched down and scrabbled at the sand a few times, revealing a circular wooden hatch buried under a thin layer of sand. It didn’t look that heavy, but she grunted and strained to lift it up with her paws, revealing a dark cavern down inside.
“In you go,” she said, pointing her tail at the hole.
Something about this didn’t sit right with Logan. Maybe it was the way her fur stood warily on end, the way her ears shivered every so often. Maybe it was the fact that his guide didn’t know about the Galactic Federation, yet seemed familiar enough with travelers to communicate with ease. Sure his universal translator helped, but that was only supposed to work with discovered species, not ones that had yet to be contacted and researched. Or maybe it was just that he didn’t like jumping into suspiciously dark holes in the ground.
There was also the fact that the temperature gauge in his suit was now measuring a chilly 270 Kelvin. A far cry from the heat suggested by the sun-baked sands he saw.
He had a guess where this was going, and he didn’t like it, not one bit.
“Say,” he said, conversationally. “I noticed your hologram flickering earlier. Think you need some maintenance.”
“What?” The catgirl said, raising a dusky eyebrow. “I don’t know what that is. Won’t you go inside?”
“I’m just saying. It’s a convincing show and all, promise, but once you’ve been in the biz long enough, you start noticing small details like flickering sand and mismatched temps.”
“Look at you. All the heat must’ve gone to your head.” She said, sidling up to him. There was a sudden yet subtle shift in her demeanor, so quick that he almost didn’t notice. Her eyes lowered, her tongue darted out to lick her nose, and she placed one foot in front of the other gracefully, retracing her own steps perfectly. She approached him, casually curling her tail around his leg, sending tingles up his spine.
“Poor, weary traveler. It must’ve been tough, sailing through space all on your own. Won’t you come inside and rest a while?” She purred, tugging him gently towards the open hatch. “Quickly, before the sand covers it again.”
He inched a hand towards the blaster hanging at his side, unmoved by the obvious act. “Does the word ‘gelatinous’ mean anything to you?”
Her eyes locked onto his hand, her tail going stiff behind her. “Not as such, no. Why don’t we discuss this inside? After you, of course.”
“Of course. I’ll be on my way, then.”
Logan said, shoving her away, leaping back, and unholstering his blaster, all in one practiced motion. She landed softly on all fours, hissed, then sprang at him, fast as lightning. He raised an arm to block, pulling up his blaster and aiming it at her center mass. At the same time, she skidded to an abrupt halt before him, half-crouching as one hand darted past his arm without a sound.
They both froze. Logan’s blaster trained on her torso, her claws nearly piercing his neck. It seemed they were at a deadlock.
Wait, Logan thought to himself. I have a spacesuit.
His fingers itched on the trigger, but in that same instant, he heard a small tearing sound as a single claw slipped through several layers of synthetic polymers, Kevlar, and silica fiber to rest itself pointedly against the actual skin of his neck. A small hissing sound indicated the oxygen leaking from the new hole in his suit.
“That’’s a sharp knife you’ve got.” He said, feeling his mouth drying up.
“It’s not a knife,” she said smugly, though her raised fur betrayed her wariness.
“Enough of these illusions, okay? I’ve seen through ‘em. We’re not in a desert, and you’re not a catgirl. I’ve met your kind before—shape-shifting, amorphous slimes, always taking the form of something I love. Usually it’s my late wife or a dear friend, but pretending to be a catgirl is taking it too far.” He sniffed.
She hmphed, and said, “You’re only half-right, outworlder.” She let out a trilling sound, and a moment later, the world flickered out of existence.
With the veil lifted, Logan could see the world for what it really was. Gone were the tan-brown desert and the shifting sands. In their place was a world of ash. White and grey specks drifted through a sunless sky, cold and desolate. Looking down, he saw that his feet were buried ankle-deep in the stuff. So the feeling of sand had been real, sort of. He wondered what it was made of.
Dreading what he would see, he raised his eyes once more, only to see the same catgirl shivering in her shawl before him.
“This is what I actually look like,” she said, pricking her claw against his neck. “Now how about dropping that gun and sticking your hands in the air?”
“So catgirls are real.” Logan wondered aloud, feeling hope swelling in his chest.
“I… guess?” She seemed uneasy about the way he looked at her. “So about that gun—"
“What is this place?” He asked, prodding his blaster against her stomach. “I’m pretty sure it looked like a desert world from outside. Don’t tell me you have some, some kind of planet-wide hologram going on. That would be… I don’t know, prohibitively expensive, and very concerning.”
“Yes,” she said, straight-faced. “The hologram covers the whole solar system, in fact. We are at the center of a powerful criminal empire spanning the galaxy. The white ash is made from cremating the corpses of all who have dared to oppose us, and soon you will join their ranks.”
“Woah, really?” Logan said, raising an eyebrow. They must deal in trafficking, then.
“No, I lied. Although, usually that gets a bigger reaction out of outworlders. Now come on, you can surrender now or wait until my backup gets here, and then it’ll get messy. You choose.”
“I think I’ll wait for more catgirls to show up, thanks.”
She hissed. “It’s your lucky day. Here they are now, actually.”
From behind mountains of ash, they plodded forwards. All varieties of colors, from dusky to snow-white to calico, but all sporting the same unmistakable ears and tails. Logan’s heart beat with excitement, until he noticed the strange metal tubes being pointed at him from all angles.
“Ah, am I correct in assuming that those are your planet’s version of blasters?”
The catgirl retracted her claw from his neck and nodded in confirmation. “They’ll blast a big hole right through you.” She stretched her arms and yawned wide, letting herself relax now that her reinforcements were here.
Logan dropped the blaster to his side. “Well, shit.” Surrounded by armed enemies on all sides, he had no choice but to obey.
It was then that he had a really stupid idea. One that would probably get him killed, but which would be really funny if it worked.
His blaster had a laser scope that shined a visible red dot on his target when toggled on. An attached laser pointer, in other words. If these catgirls were anything like the felines he knew on Earth…
Hell, it was worth a shot.

On the bottom rack I have a b550 pro with Ryzen 4500 cpu with 64gb of ram and 3070s of mixed builds.
I recently joined io.net which is a depin project for Ai render and machine learning decentralized market place where consumers can rent gpu power for Ai uses cases
As per thier requirements they need each gpu to be connected via an x8 pci lane to meet thier gpu requirements. Only problem is the way I have the configured is the same way I had them configed when I was minning eth and doggy tokens.
As per io.net requirements I would need atleast an i5 or better 4th gen or higher 16gb of ram and 256gb ssd. Preety basic hardware standards. The tricky part again is that pesky x8 slot for each gpu.
I've come to realize that 100% I'm going to need to build an additional build or two based off the constraints of pci lanes avaible per motherboard.
What are my best cost effective ways of accomplishing this with the least amount of $$$ spent. I'm all ears and researching ideas on how to get this accomplished.

WaltDisneyWorld would not let me post my travel thoughts, so posting here for others.
Firstly I want to say that I've been visiting Disney world since regularly for 40 years and I know all the parks and the history very well. In the early 2000's I lived in Windermere directly behind the Magic Kingdom and was a annual passholder. I'm also a Disney stock holder, so I follow the financials of the company and am aware of most if not all of the management decisions that have been made regarding the revenue of the parks and cost of running them. My hope is that this channel is monitored by Disney management personnel and some of my observations from an experience standpoint will fall on (mouse) ears.
I now live in Texas and have not been to any of the Disney parks for many years, so I was eager to take my 9 year old for her birthday to see the new attractions that everyone has been talking about this week (5/28 - 5/31). I had some old park hopper tickets that I was able to update to the new card system, which I immediately found complicated and arbitrary. I received several plastic cards to replace the paper tickets I had, but I could only determine what each of the cards had remaining on them by looking up each cards serial number using the Disney "Experiences" app. Now if you use Genie+ or Lighting Lane pass, every ride you go on requires you scan either your card, phone, or as I later discovered my iWatch if I paired it with the "Experience App". This required me to constantly pull out my card which quickly grew tiresome. My daughter saw everyone with a LED mickey wristband, which I learned was called a Magicband. I found out that it could be used to scan her into the rides and had an added benefit of playing a little audio clip on gold character statues around the park, and vibrated during fireworks, so I bought the cheapest one @ $35. A smart move by Disney to solve a problem with another upsell that they created in the first place.
I'm a software developer, so most technology does not usually confuse me, but the design of the "Experiences" app is pretty bad. It's very hard to get the information you need, the features are categorized poorly, not explained well, and navigation is redundant and unintuitive. I really don't know how the average family makes heads or tails of it. I think that the feature that I utilized the most was the Cast Member Chat, because they were the only one that could make any sense of the extensive rules and restrictions that have been added to all the parks and access. I leaned on the Disney ticket agent who was a 26 year Disney employee veteran to help setup which parks my daughter and I were interested in. I had to purchase an additional child's single day ticket ($5 off the $179 adult ticket) so I had the ticket agent set that up as well. The ticketing process is so confusing that even the 26 year Disney employee had a problem with the setup that I'll explain later.
The first day we went to Epcot for the Guardians Coaster, Ratatouille, and the Frozen ride what I had not seen before. I was told that to reserve the Guardians ride, I needed to get on the "Experiences" app at 7am to reserve a virtual queue in line. I loaded the app at 6:55am and kept refreshing until at 7 the screen switched to "Press to enter the Virtual Queue" button appeared. In the 4 seconds it took me to read the text on the page, the app told me that the virtual queue was already full and I would now have to wait until 1pm to try again or buy a lighting lane pass for $36 for the 2 of us. I wanted to park hop to Magic Kingdom and you are required to be in the park at 1pm to try the queue again so I simply bought the lighting pass to get it over with rather than spend my vacation pulling out my phone out and checking my watch and queue status all day.
Just as a FYI, I was successful queueing the next day for Tron, by using the same technique but hitting the "Press to enter the Virtual Queue" immediately, a process that I estimate took me 2 total seconds. Doing so I received a queue group of 72 which resulted in our group being called at 2:45pm in the afternoon. Needless to say I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth as I had to be on my phone at 7am every morning with mixed success and then even when I was successful I constantly had to check my phone to see where I was in the queue to avoid missing our place. Even my 9 year old was so annoyed by my phone obsession and eventually suggested that we only check the phone after we get off a ride.
We had to scan our fingers on the initial check in, which I'd heard about to lock our tickets to us. As a privacy advocate I'm not super excited about this, nor the idea that I cannot easily swap users of the card to another family member at my choosing, but I'm sure that others have expressed these concerns so I won't elaborate further. We were staying at a Disney Resort, so we arrived at the Epcot back entrance exactly at 8:30am to rope drop Ratatouille. Apparently that was everyone else's idea because the outdoor line queue for Ratatouille was already at 35 minutes when we arrived. When we did get on the ride, I was very underwhelmed with the presentation and felt that the quality of what I had known Disney to produce had severely dropped. I had to wear 3D glasses on a practical dark ride that moved in parts from 3D projection screens to small room breaks that had no characters or effects which required my to constantly remove and again put on the glasses to see anything clearly. As far as I could see there were no animatronics or real characters within the practical scenes and the 3D screens were dark, poorly aligned when attempting to create false parallax, and frequently distorted. Overall it reminded me of a rip-off of the Spiderman ride at Universal that was made about 10 years ago.
I bought 2 Genie+ passes in addition to the $36 Guardians Lighting Lane passes, so that added another $100 to our park tickets. As soon as we got in the park I made a Genie+ reservation for the Frozen ride, but the first available slot was 1:45pm, so I guess that's a popular one too. Since we had some time to wait for our 11:15am Guardians Lighting Lane reserve, we walked around world showcase, which was pretty much how I remember it and walk over to the new Moana water thing. I've probably been to Epcot about 200 times so I thought I knew my way around pretty well, but when I got the old communicore fountain area I got completely lost by the labyrinth of narrow paths and hidden turns. It seems Disney's original rule of designing a park to lead the patron to the next focal point has not been adopted by the current designers. The moana experience was wedged in between the restrooms between The Land and Living Seas pavilions, which was an odd choice when it seems they could have put it where the old communicore fountain was to both add tropical beauty to that previously dull area as well as implement an impressive water feature. As it is installed now, the experience is hidden, cramped, and overall does not really communicate the naturalist messaging that the numerous signs in the pathway claimed to resemble.
There was also a new choke point that was introduced between Spaceship Earth and the Land where the only path on that side of the park was about 12 feet wide. A great idea now that every other family either has a double wide stroller or electric scooter taking up even more of the pathway than they used to. I also noticed this at Hollywood Studios in the new Galaxy Edge area. Not sure why the current Disney design team thinks the paths in the parks should narrower than they were before, but my assumption is that it's a cost saving measure.
We made it on the new Guardians coaster with our lighting pass, and I appreciate that we did not have to wait in the regular queue and got on the preshow portion of the ride in 5 minutes. I thought the ride was ok, not great with heavy use of video projection in both the preshow and ride. The extent of practical effects was a giant planet that you rotate around which seems flat and unrealistic. For a ride that is supposed to be the new high standard of Disney Imagineering, it seems that a nearly completely reliance on some projection screens in a dark coaster seems cheap and uninspired. Does anyone remember the giant glowing future city at the end of World of Motion? How did we go from that to this?
We finished Epcot at the Frozen ride, which was lackluster with no story, cheap animatronic character that had disturbing glowing projection faces with dead stares. Not that the Norway ride was that great, but it at least and some interesting scenery, a troll with fiber optics and a drop with the Miniature practical Storm and Oil Rig which were slightly memorable. To replace it with a bunch of flat, black light painted wood panels to recreate one of the highest grossing animated modern era Disney films seems uninspired and unimaginative. I mean they couldn't even design an interesting mirrocrystal room for Elsa's Ice Palace that would make you feel like your are in a much bigger and impressive space?
The next day we went to Hollywood Studios and I paid another $44 for both of us to go on Rise of Resistance and $70 for 2 more Genie+ passes, so another $114 in addition to the cost of the park tickets. We did Tower of Terror first which thankfully has not been redesigned and still holds up over the years, even though I think the drops have been reduced and shortened, a change I'm sure my 9 year old did not have any objection with.
We made our way over to the new Pixar area which I found to be very garish and infantile, more like if McDonalds designed a theme park, not Disney or Pixar. The wait for Slinks coaster was already 90 minutes at 10:30am and even though we had the Genie+ pass, it was not available so we skipped it. On another note it was already 94 degrees and there is no shade in most areas of the new areas of this park other than some haphazardly placed umbrellas on the sides of the path that guests huddle underneath. It's like the park designers have never visited Florida in summer or simply don't care if anyone bakes in the sun.
We made it to the Star Wars area and I found it very confusing and mazelike. I never knew where I was, as the other areas I mentioned there were multiple choke points in the paths in a area that proved to be the most crowded in the park. The detailing of the buildings and nature features seemed cheapy executed and fake. They didn't really remind me much of the Star Wars universe and would barely hold up in an episode of the Mandalorian. My favorite experience by far was the Millennium Falcon ride where my daughter and I got to pilot the ship which was a dream experience. Even the queue area of this ride is amazing with the level of detail and nostalgia that I would expect from a E-Ticket Disney Ride.
Rise of the Resistance was fine, not worth $44, containing more of the poorly executed fake projection screens effects and motion vehicles traveling though cheaply constructed Empire/Order hallways. I'm also 95% sure that the Kylo Ren animatronic at the end is the recycled from the Wicked Witch from Great Movie Ride. I feel like the animation was even recycled.
Last day we went to Magic Kingdom with the intention of riding Tron and Snow White Mine Train. I bought Lighting Lane passes for both rides adding another $66 ($26 for SN and $40 for Tron) to the tickets. I again got up at 7am to enter the virtual raffle for the Tron queue, and discovered that I could now add my daughter to the queue group. I immediately contacted a Disney chat agent who discovered that the helpful Disney ticket agent who I purchased a single day ticket to Magic Kingdom had put in the wrong date for our visit. By doing so, it effectively made my daughter ticket ineligible for virtual queues (and may have not granted her access to the park for the day I paid for). Thankfully the online agent was able to change to date so I could actually use the $175 single park ticket that I bought the night before I intended to use it.
Snow White was well done and fun, sort of a combination or Matterhorn and Barnstormer. I did notice that it also contained the cheap animatronic characters that had disturbing glowing projection faces like the Frozen ride. Is it that really that hard to maintain facial articulation on audioanimatronics? Disney did it since Carousel of Progress and the projection faces seem like a huge step backward.
Tron was what I was most excited about being envious of the Tokyo version. The building that houses Tron is impressive and clearly designed to be a key feature to draw guests in with an extended walkway and LED effects on the scaffolding. I was able to reserve a virtual queue for the day, so I reserved a 10:00pm Lighting Lane pass. I preferred the night ride, as there was more constant immersion with indoooutdoor areas of the coaster. I thought the reclined ride cars were unique and well done if not a bit uncomfortable. They are slightly constrictive how they hold you in and I noticed that a child in the car in front of me was restrained to tightly and started to have trouble breathing screaming for help from her parents by the end of the ride, which was unsettling, so consider asking for the last car that does not have this type of restraint for little ones. The ride again was plagued with projection screens inside the ride in lieu of practical effects and reminded me or Guardians. We also bought a Diecast Tron lightbike with LEDs in the giftshop and upon getting home the bike was made in China, was broken and did not illuminate.
After all the travel, tacked on cost of all the addons, special ride passes, and the inconvenience of the highly restrictive and expensive park tickets and the cheaper quality of the rides, I don't feel like Disney offers a good value or exceptional experience anymore. I actually felt bad for families with several kids that clearly were spending thousands of dollars for a vacation that honestly felt more like a job most of the time. I also noticed cast members that were either rude, impatient, or audibly complaining about their job position, shift, the heat, or anything else that an average worker would complain about. I understand that Disney employees are regular people and not robots, but previously I always felt that Disney employees were extremely proud to be working at Disney World and it reflected in how they treated guests and it added to the magic. Now I just felt like I'm was six flags and everyone was just counting the minutes until they could go home. I'm glad that I could take my daughter and have the experience with her, but I will not be returning to Disney World any time soon as it seems that the company and how they value the guest experience has diminished significantly from what I remember.

2024.06.02 04:41 SuperSwitch064 Rebalancing Paper Mario Badge System for Hypothetical Future Games (Slight Spoilers for Badges Appearing in First Two Games)

Total Badges: There are 100 badges in Paper Mario Next, consisting of the original 85 from TTYD, 5 returning from PM64 (Dizzy Attack, Dizzy Stomp, Dodge Master, Power Quake, and Speedy Spin) and 10 brand new badges.
In this post, 39 badges have been rebalanced, with 13 being buffed to cost less BP and 26 being nerfed to cost more BP. If a badge isn’t specified in either category, their BP cost hasn’t been changed from their TTYD incarnation, or 64 incarnation in the case of Dizzy Attack, Dizzy Stomp, and Power Quake. These changes will mainly focus on changing up the badge system to allow for more diverse playstyles because, as it stands, Power boosting badges are almost always the way to go over defensive or status inflicting badges. In some cases, I might also specify if a badge would be available earlier or later than it typically was in the first two games to make this hypothetical game have a similar feel to Metroid Dread, where some items you typically get near the beginning in other Metroid games are obtained a bit later, which provided for a different experience and feel to the game compared to previous 2D Metroid games, and I would like the next Paper Mario game to give off that similar feel, if they end were to end up going with the classic formula again.
There have also been two significant alterations to the battle mechanics from TTYD. First, the card slots that could fully recover HP, FP, and SP are now locked behind the new badge Lucky Lottery, allowing for players to choose whether or not they want this helpful component of luck in their battles. The other major change is that now, a Game Over will only occur when both Mario and his active partner have been KO’d in battle, however now Life Shrooms must be consumed manually, allowing for an opening for the enemy to attack after one has been used up. Classic Life Shroom revival mechanics can be restored with the new Life Saver and Life Saver P badges, however this ability will only activate once per battle.
That's about it for major mechanical changes, so let's get into the rebalancing part of the post:
Edit: I forgot to mention this in the initial post, but the max level in this hypothetical game would be 50, with HP and FP both maxing out at 50 like in 64, but BP maxing out at 99 like in TTYD.

~Buffed (Cost Less BP)~
Bump Attack (5 BP-0 BP): Since First Attack was reduced to 0 BP in the TTYD remake, it only makes sense to have Bump Attack reduced as well for quality of life. Just make Bump Attack available later than First Attack and it should work out fine.
Feeling Fine (4 BP-3 BP): Since this badge is universally useful, regardless of the player’s build, it makes sense to slightly reduce its cost to only a single level-up’s worth of BP rather than partway into a second like it currently works.
Feeling Fine P (4 BP-3 BP): Same logic as Feeling Fine.
HP Plus P (6 BP-4 BP): I get that the whole point of having it cost so much BP is to incentivize the player to power up their partners by upgrading them with Merlon, and because it effects multiple party members instead of just Mario, but a better solution would be to only have one or two available in the entire game, and have them show up in Chapter 5 or later, because as it stands this badge’s usability is niche at best and borderline pointless at worst costing 6 BP.
Money Money (5 BP-4 BP): As it currently stands, Money Money is a pretty useless badge, because you get it in the latter half of the game and by then there are better ways of making money like in the Pit of 100 Trials or selling useless badges like this one for a high profit. Swap its place as a minigame area reward with Item Hog’s place as a star piece reward to make it available much earlier in the game and slightly reduce its BP cost to make it viable earlier as well.
P-Down, D-Up (2 BP-1 BP): As it stands in both classic Paper Mario games, offensive strategies are way more viable than defensive strategies, so lowering the cost of a lot of defense oriented badges and boosting the cost of offense oriented badges will be a common pattern in this post. P-Down, D-Up is particularly useless, since Damage Dodge is found around relatively the same time in the game, costs the exact same amount of BP, and doesn’t have the drawback of reducing attack by 1. Making this badge available earlier and reducing its cost by 1 allows for it to thrive as a defensive strategy for beginner players that will allow for slightly longer, but easier fights in the early game, and could be a helpful tool for guard and superguard training.
P-Down, D-Up P (2 BP-1 BP): Same logic as P-Down, D-Up.
Pity Flower (3 BP-1 BP): Beyond filling the niche of having multiple chances of restoring FP by one if you expect the enemy to hit Mario more than once, this badge is generally worse than Happy Flower due to it typically being obtained later and costing one extra BP, so making it cost 1 BP less than Happy Flower and making it available earlier would make it a bit more viable for the early game.
Quake Hammer (2 BP-1 BP): Since Power Quake is returning from PM64 and costs 2 BP, Quake Hammer’s cost will be reduced back to 1 like it was in the first game to introduce a system of progression to hit-all moves for Mario.
Quick Change (7 BP-6 BP): Like with the Feeling Fine badges, this is a universally useful badge that pretty much every build, barring challenge builds, will use, so reducing its cost to requiring two full level-ups’ worth of BP would be a middle ground between its cost of 4 in the first game and 7 in TTYD.
Return Postage (7 BP-4 BP): In TTYD, Return Postage is a badge that has the unfortunate position of being the reward for completing the Pit of 100 Trials, which may or may not be the final challenge that players will face in the game, meaning it likely won’t get much usage from the player, if at all, and even if they manage to get it say, halfway through the game offense oriented strategies just straight up outclass this badge, making its usability incredibly niche. Make it available as a star piece badge reward and couple it with some defense oriented badges and this badge could end up being pretty useful through the mid-game or later.
Speedy Spin (1 BP-0 BP): Since this is purely a quality of life badge like First Attack or Bump Attack, it too will be getting reduced to a cost of 0.
Spike Shield (3 BP-2 BP): The cost of both Spike Shield and Ice Power in TTYD is pretty confusing. All Spike Shield does is allow for Mario to jump on spiked enemies and it costs 3 BP, yet Ice Power allows Mario to jump on fire enemies while ALSO making him deal one extra damage to them AND taking one less damage from fire-based attacks, and it only costs 1 BP. I feel that since Spike Shield is a badge that will be equipped and de-equipped based on where the player is in the game depending on what enemies they will be facing, that its BP cost should be reduced by one for the player’s convenience. Buffing Spike Shield in this way, but nerfing power boosting badges and a few jump move badges should make this change pretty balanced.

~Nerfed (Cost More BP)~
All Or Nothing (4 BP-6 BP): This is the first of many offense boosting badges that will be nerfed, now costing as much as Power Plus did in the base game. The risk-reward concept behind this badge means it won’t be as useful to players as Power Plus unless they can execute action commands perfectly, meaning it shouldn’t cost quite as much as Power Plus, but 4 BP is a little too cheap for this badge, even though it’s usually obtained in the latter half of the game, so increasing its cost by 2 makes sense from a balancing perspective.
Charge (1 BP-4 BP): Even though this move can be used infinitely unlike All Or Nothing and doesn’t have the drawback of failing if you don’t perform the action command perfectly, you still need to use up a turn to charge your attack, leaving yourself vulnerable to enemy attacks, and there were certain bosses in PM64 that could remove your charge with certain attacks, so if that mechanic were to return a cost of 4 BP feels most fitting here.
Charge P (1 BP-4 BP): Same logic as Charge.
Damage Dodge (2 BP-4 BP): Although certain defense-oriented strategies were buffed here, Damage Dodge is just too overpowered as it stands in its TTYD incarnation. Costing nearly a third of Defend Plus and having practically the same effect if you can master the regular guard attack, which isn’t that hard to do, and would be made even easier with Dodge Master returning, so buffing its BP cost to 4 for balancing makes sense.
Damage Dodge P (2 BP-4 BP): Same logic as Damage Dodge.
Dodge Master (2 BP-6 BP): While an increase of 4 BP might seem pretty steep for this badge considering the Damage Dodge badges have already been nerfed, the existence of the superguard makes the inclusion of this badge a bit of a toss-up. If it doesn’t effect the superguard, it could easily return with a cost of 3 or so BP, but assuming it would make the superguard easier to execute, I’ll play it safe and increase its cost up to 6 BP.
Double Dip (3 BP-6 BP): Like with Dodge Master before, an increase of 3 might seem steep, but considering how overpowered items can be and the fact that it only costs 6 BP to get Triple Dip and use up to 3 items per turn, and 12 BP combined with your partner to use 6 items per turn, increasing its cost by 3 would double all the values, needing 12 to get Triple Dip and a whopping 24 to use 6 items per combined turn. This would now cost about a quarter of the total available BP in the game, making it still technically a viable strategy for players who are willing to go the extra mile and use it, but will turn most players away from this strategy in favour of other ones.
Double Dip P (3 BP-6 BP): Same logic as Double Dip.
FP Plus (3 BP-4 BP): In the classic games, especially in the case of TTYD with the ability to get up to 99 BP and with more badges available, the fact that FP and HP Plus cost 1 level-up’s worth of BP can discourage players from levelling up their HP or FP and encourage them to just equip an HP or FP Plus badge as needed. While they aren’t inherently overpowered, boosting both of their costs up by 1 would encourage players to level up HP and FP from time to time unless they’d be willing to dip into a second level-up’s worth of BP, which would bring a bit more strategy to levelling up and make the decision to equip these badges a bit more strategic.
Hammerman (2 BP-4 BP): Hammerman and Jumpman are both pretty powerful badges in TTYD due to their low cost and being an effective Power Plus for their respective move type. However, Jumpman heavily outclasses Hammerman, since the jump hits twice per turn while the hammer only hits once, meaning that with enough boosts the jump will straight up outclass the hammer late in the game. As such, Hammerman’s cost has been boosted up to 4, making it cheaper than the P-Up, D-Down Badges, Jumpman, and Power Plus badges’ new costs to encourage its use over those badges.
HP Plus (3 BP-4 BP): Same logic as FP Plus.
Ice Power (1 BP-3 BP): Most of the logic was already explained in Spike Shield above. Since this badge has three beneficial effects, but is still pretty situational since there are typically far fewer fire-based enemies than there are spiky enemies, it gets to keep all of its base effects but will have its BP cost raised to 3.
Jumpman (2 BP-6 BP): Most of the logic was already explained in Hammerman’s section. It now costs more than Hammerman and the P-Up, D-Down badges, but less than Power Plus since it locks you into the jump and may require the use of Spike Shield or Ice Power in some cases to take full advantage of its power.
Mega Rush (1 BP-6 BP): Next on the laundry list of power-boosting badges is Mega Rush. Even though it’s incredibly situational, if you’re willing to repeatedly jump into water or damage yourself in other ways to get your HP down to 1 and keep it there for a while, you effectively have the power of 5 Power Plus badges for a sixth of the cost, which is way too powerful since they can also be stacked. Boosting their BP cost to be equal to Jumpman, but less than the Power Plus badges makes sense due to them both being similarly limited, but very effective strategies if used properly.
Mega Rush P (1 BP-6 BP): Same logic as Mega Rush.
Multibounce (1 BP-3 BP): With the introduction of Power Quake and jump attacks generally being more effective than the hammer, now there’s a steady progression for hit-all moves. You start off with Quake Hammer in the early-game, which can hit all ground-based enemies and be boosted with power-boosting badges, but doesn’t get stronger with the Super and Ultra Hammer. Then around the mid-game you get Power Quake, which costs one more BP but does more damage than Quake Hammer tantamount to what it would’ve been if it had been boosted along with the Super Hammer. Finally, in the latter half of the game you’d finally get Multibounce, which costs 1 BP more than Power Quake but does get boosted with the Boot upgrades and can be used on any enemy with the use of Spike Shield and Ice Power. Its FP cost has also been increased to 6 to serve as a progression from the 2 FP cost of Quake Hammer and 4 FP cost of Power Quake due to its enhanced utility as a move.
P-Up, D-Down (2 BP-5 BP): My mindset with this badge is similar to previous badges like Jumpman and Mega Rush. Since there is a significant drawback of taking more damage per turn it makes sense for it to cost less than Jump Man and Mega Rush, but its current cost of 2 BP makes it way too overpowered, even when taking into account you get it later in the game than Power Plus. Putting its cost at 5 feels like a safe bet, making it cost more than Power Rush but less than Mega Rush and Jumpman.
P-Up, D-Down P (2 BP-5 BP): Same logic as P-Up, D-Down.
Power Bounce (3 BP-9 BP): This is a pretty steep increase, but it should require minimal explanation. Considering you can jump on an enemy 100 times doing well over 100 damage if you have the right badge set-up, this badge should be tied for the most expensive in the game, but I’ve also decided to further nerf it in two ways. Now, it will cost 9 FP, making it the most expensive Mario move FP-wise in the game and requiring some FP saving badges to be used in a BP only run. It will also only calculate the total damage done after all jumps have been performed, meaning unless you get 100 perfect jumps every time, it’ll render All or Nothing completely worthless combined with this badge. It should also only typically be available later in the game, but be obtainable early enough in the game so that if players are willing to go out of their way to get it they’ll be rewarded with the most powerful badge in the game, making it the perfect reward for beating the Pit of 100 Trials. With all of these nerfs, there is a slight upside, as a weaker version of this badge called the Froggy Bounce has been introduced, and will be detailed at the end of the post.
Power Plus (6 BP-8 BP): It would be a little redundant to explain everything in full detail here. Considering you get a flat 1 increase to your attack without any drawbacks, it makes sense to increase this badge’s cost from 6 to 8, making it tied for the second most-expensive badge in the game.
Power Plus P (6 BP-8 BP): Same logic as Power Plus.
Power Rush (1 BP-4 BP): Being a less powerful version of Mega Rush, it makes sense for Power Rush to cost less than it. Due to it also being more risky than a P-Up, D-Down badge, it makes sense for its cost to be 4 BP, even though it gives an extra attack point than that badge. This way, it’s still cheap enough for players who are willing to exploit the Danger Mario strategy to go for it, but most players will only be willing to equip one or two of these badges due to its increased BP cost.
Power Rush P (1 BP-4 BP): Same logic as Power Rush.
Shrink Stomp (1 BP-2 BP): In my vision of Paper Mario 7, there would be a special move that decreases the enemy’s attack and defense as a sort of inverse of Power Lift, but their attack and defense wouldn’t be able to be de-buffed below 1 and 0 respectively. That already nerfs Shrink Stomp pretty heavily, but due to it being a jumping attack and still being pretty versatile, I’ve decided to increase its cost to 2 BP anyway to encourage the use of hammer attacks over jumping attacks.
Sleepy Stomp (1 BP-2 BP): Similar logic to Shrink Stomp. Since it inflicts a pretty strong status effect while also being a jumping move, its cost will be increased to 2 to further encourage the use of the hammer.
Soft Stomp (1 BP-2 BP): Same logic as Shrink Stomp.

~New Badges~
Retro Roots (0 BP): Changes the appearance of Mario and his allies to an 8-bit rendition of themselves both in the overworld and in battle. Prevents Mario and his allies from performing guards and superguards, and removes the action command from all attacks to provide a more traditional turn-based RPG experience. Unlocked after collecting all the other 99 badges in the game.
Plumber Smash (1 BP): Mario drains back the amount of damage he does to a single enemy with this hammer attack for 3 FP.
Polter Bust (2 BP): Allows Mario to attack invisible enemies, rendering them visible afterwards.
Froggy Bounce (3 BP): Allows Mario to jump on an enemy up to 5 consecutive times for 3 FP. Like with Power Bounce, damage is only calculated after all jumps have been performed, rendering All or Nothing useless if you can’t perform the 5 consecutive jumps perfectly.
Wonder Saver (4 BP): Reduces the cost of Mario’s Wonder Power (WP) moves by half, but makes them half as effective.
Life Saver (5 BP): Allows Mario to automatically use a Life Shroom after being knocked out with 10 HP once per battle, provided there is one in the inventory.
Life Saver P (6 BP): Allows a partner to automatically use a Life Shroom after being knocked out with 10 HP once per battle, provided there is one in the inventory.
Lucky Lottery (7 BP): Enables the slot card system from TTYD to return, allowing players to roll a set of 3 mushrooms to fully restore HP, flowers to fully restore FP, wonder seeds to fully restore WP, wonder flowers to fully restore HP, FP, and WP, or coins to get 100 coins.
Flower Power (8 BP): Reduces all of Mario’s attacks FP cost by half, rounding up.
Flower Power P (9 BP): Reduces all Partners’ attacks FP cost by half, rounding up.

Firstly I want to say that I've been visiting Disney world since regularly for 40 years and I know all the parks and the history very well. In the early 2000's I lived in Windermere directly behind the Magic Kingdom and was a annual passholder. I'm also a Disney stock holder, so I follow the financials of the company and am aware of most if not all of the management decisions that have been made regarding the revenue of the parks and cost of running them. My hope is that this channel is monitored by Disney management personnel and some of my observations from an experience standpoint will fall on (mouse) ears.
I now live in Texas and have not been to any of the Disney parks for many years, so I was eager to take my 9 year old for her birthday to see the new attractions that everyone has been talking about this week (5/28 - 5/31). I had some old park hopper tickets that I was able to update to the new card system, which I immediately found complicated and arbitrary. I received several plastic cards to replace the paper tickets I had, but I could only determine what each of the cards had remaining on them by looking up each cards serial number using the Disney "Experiences" app. Now if you use Genie+ or Lighting Lane pass, every ride you go on requires you scan either your card, phone, or as I later discovered my iWatch if I paired it with the "Experience App". This required me to constantly pull out my card which quickly grew tiresome. My daughter saw everyone with a LED mickey wristband, which I learned was called a Magicband. I found out that it could be used to scan her into the rides and had an added benefit of playing a little audio clip on gold character statues around the park, and vibrated during fireworks, so I bought the cheapest one @ $35. A smart move by Disney to solve a problem with another upsell that they created in the first place.
I'm a software developer, so most technology does not usually confuse me, but the design of the "Experiences" app is pretty bad. It's very hard to get the information you need, the features are categorized poorly, not explained well, and navigation is redundant and unintuitive. I really don't know how the average family makes heads or tails of it. I think that the feature that I utilized the most was the Cast Member Chat, because they were the only one that could make any sense of the extensive rules and restrictions that have been added to all the parks and access. I leaned on the Disney ticket agent who was a 26 year Disney employee veteran to help setup which parks my daughter and I were interested in. I had to purchase an additional child's single day ticket ($5 off the $179 adult ticket) so I had the ticket agent set that up as well. The ticketing process is so confusing that even the 26 year Disney employee had a problem with the setup that I'll explain later.
The first day we went to Epcot for the Guardians Coaster, Ratatouille, and the Frozen ride what I had not seen before. I was told that to reserve the Guardians ride, I needed to get on the "Experiences" app at 7am to reserve a virtual queue in line. I loaded the app at 6:55am and kept refreshing until at 7 the screen switched to "Press to enter the Virtual Queue" button appeared. In the 4 seconds it took me to read the text on the page, the app told me that the virtual queue was already full and I would now have to wait until 1pm to try again or buy a lighting lane pass for $36 for the 2 of us. I wanted to park hop to Magic Kingdom and you are required to be in the park at 1pm to try the queue again so I simply bought the lighting pass to get it over with rather than spend my vacation pulling out my phone out and checking my watch and queue status all day.
Just as a FYI, I was successful queueing the next day for Tron, by using the same technique but hitting the "Press to enter the Virtual Queue" immediately, a process that I estimate took me 2 total seconds. Doing so I received a queue group of 72 which resulted in our group being called at 2:45pm in the afternoon. Needless to say I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth as I had to be on my phone at 7am every morning with mixed success and then even when I was successful I constantly had to check my phone to see where I was in the queue to avoid missing our place. Even my 9 year old was so annoyed by my phone obsession and eventually suggested that we only check the phone after we get off a ride.
We had to scan our fingers on the initial check in, which I'd heard about to lock our tickets to us. As a privacy advocate I'm not super excited about this, nor the idea that I cannot easily swap users of the card to another family member at my choosing, but I'm sure that others have expressed these concerns so I won't elaborate further. We were staying at a Disney Resort, so we arrived at the Epcot back entrance exactly at 8:30am to rope drop Ratatouille. Apparently that was everyone else's idea because the outdoor line queue for Ratatouille was already at 35 minutes when we arrived. When we did get on the ride, I was very underwhelmed with the presentation and felt that the quality of what I had known Disney to produce had severely dropped. I had to wear 3D glasses on a practical dark ride that moved in parts from 3D projection screens to small room breaks that had no characters or effects which required my to constantly remove and again put on the glasses to see anything clearly. As far as I could see there were no animatronics or real characters within the practical scenes and the 3D screens were dark, poorly aligned when attempting to create false parallax, and frequently distorted. Overall it reminded me of a rip-off of the Spiderman ride at Universal that was made about 10 years ago.
I bought 2 Genie+ passes in addition to the $36 Guardians Lighting Lane passes, so that added another $100 to our park tickets. As soon as we got in the park I made a Genie+ reservation for the Frozen ride, but the first available slot was 1:45pm, so I guess that's a popular one too. Since we had some time to wait for our 11:15am Guardians Lighting Lane reserve, we walked around world showcase, which was pretty much how I remember it and walk over to the new Moana water thing. I've probably been to Epcot about 200 times so I thought I knew my way around pretty well, but when I got the old communicore fountain area I got completely lost by the labyrinth of narrow paths and hidden turns. It seems Disney's original rule of designing a park to lead the patron to the next focal point has not been adopted by the current designers. The moana experience was wedged in between the restrooms between The Land and Living Seas pavilions, which was an odd choice when it seems they could have put it where the old communicore fountain was to both add tropical beauty to that previously dull area as well as implement an impressive water feature. As it is installed now, the experience is hidden, cramped, and overall does not really communicate the naturalist messaging that the numerous signs in the pathway claimed to resemble.
There was also a new choke point that was introduced between Spaceship Earth and the Land where the only path on that side of the park was about 12 feet wide. A great idea now that every other family either has a double wide stroller or electric scooter taking up even more of the pathway than they used to. I also noticed this at Hollywood Studios in the new Galaxy Edge area. Not sure why the current Disney design team thinks the paths in the parks should narrower than they were before, but my assumption is that it's a cost saving measure.
We made it on the new Guardians coaster with our lighting pass, and I appreciate that we did not have to wait in the regular queue and got on the preshow portion of the ride in 5 minutes. I thought the ride was ok, not great with heavy use of video projection in both the preshow and ride. The extent of practical effects was a giant planet that you rotate around which seems flat and unrealistic. For a ride that is supposed to be the new high standard of Disney Imagineering, it seems that a nearly completely reliance on some projection screens in a dark coaster seems cheap and uninspired. Does anyone remember the giant glowing future city at the end of World of Motion? How did we go from that to this?
We finished Epcot at the Frozen ride, which was lackluster with no story, cheap animatronic character that had disturbing glowing projection faces with dead stares. Not that the Norway ride was that great, but it at least and some interesting scenery, a troll with fiber optics and a drop with the Miniature practical Storm and Oil Rig which were slightly memorable. To replace it with a bunch of flat, black light painted wood panels to recreate one of the highest grossing animated modern era Disney films seems uninspired and unimaginative. I mean they couldn't even design an interesting mirrocrystal room for Elsa's Ice Palace that would make you feel like your are in a much bigger and impressive space?
The next day we went to Hollywood Studios and I paid another $44 for both of us to go on Rise of Resistance and $70 for 2 more Genie+ passes, so another $114 in addition to the cost of the park tickets. We did Tower of Terror first which thankfully has not been redesigned and still holds up over the years, even though I think the drops have been reduced and shortened, a change I'm sure my 9 year old did not have any objection with.
We made our way over to the new Pixar area which I found to be very garish and infantile, more like if McDonalds designed a theme park, not Disney or Pixar. The wait for Slinks coaster was already 90 minutes at 10:30am and even though we had the Genie+ pass, it was not available so we skipped it. On another note it was already 94 degrees and there is no shade in most areas of the new areas of this park other than some haphazardly placed umbrellas on the sides of the path that guests huddle underneath. It's like the park designers have never visited Florida in summer or simply don't care if anyone bakes in the sun.
We made it to the Star Wars area and I found it very confusing and mazelike. I never knew where I was, as the other areas I mentioned there were multiple choke points in the paths in a area that proved to be the most crowded in the park. The detailing of the buildings and nature features seemed cheapy executed and fake. They didn't really remind me much of the Star Wars universe and would barely hold up in an episode of the Mandalorian. My favorite experience by far was the Millennium Falcon ride where my daughter and I got to pilot the ship which was a dream experience. Even the queue area of this ride is amazing with the level of detail and nostalgia that I would expect from a E-Ticket Disney Ride.
Rise of the Resistance was fine, not worth $44, containing more of the poorly executed fake projection screens effects and motion vehicles traveling though cheaply constructed Empire/Order hallways. I'm also 95% sure that the Kylo Ren animatronic at the end is the recycled from the Wicked Witch from Great Movie Ride. I feel like the animation was even recycled.
Last day we went to Magic Kingdom with the intention of riding Tron and Snow White Mine Train. I bought Lighting Lane passes for both rides adding another $66 ($26 for SN and $40 for Tron) to the tickets. I again got up at 7am to enter the virtual raffle for the Tron queue, and discovered that I could now add my daughter to the queue group. I immediately contacted a Disney chat agent who discovered that the helpful Disney ticket agent who I purchased a single day ticket to Magic Kingdom had put in the wrong date for our visit. By doing so, it effectively made my daughter ticket ineligible for virtual queues (and may have not granted her access to the park for the day I paid for). Thankfully the online agent was able to change to date so I could actually use the $175 single park ticket that I bought the night before I intended to use it.
Snow White was well done and fun, sort of a combination or Matterhorn and Barnstormer. I did notice that it also contained the cheap animatronic characters that had disturbing glowing projection faces like the Frozen ride. Is it that really that hard to maintain facial articulation on audioanimatronics? Disney did it since Carousel of Progress and the projection faces seem like a huge step backward.
Tron was what I was most excited about being envious of the Tokyo version. The building that houses Tron is impressive and clearly designed to be a key feature to draw guests in with an extended walkway and LED effects on the scaffolding. I was able to reserve a virtual queue for the day, so I reserved a 10:00pm Lighting Lane pass. I preferred the night ride, as there was more constant immersion with indoooutdoor areas of the coaster. I thought the reclined ride cars were unique and well done if not a bit uncomfortable. They are slightly constrictive how they hold you in and I noticed that a child in the car in front of me was restrained to tightly and started to have trouble breathing screaming for help from her parents by the end of the ride, which was unsettling, so consider asking for the last car that does not have this type of restraint for little ones. The ride again was plagued with projection screens inside the ride in lieu of practical effects and reminded me or Guardians. We also bought a Diecast Tron lightbike with LEDs in the giftshop and upon getting home the bike was made in China, was broken and did not illuminate.
After all the travel, tacked on cost of all the addons, special ride passes, and the inconvenience of the highly restrictive and expensive park tickets and the cheaper quality of the rides, I don't feel like Disney offers a good value or exceptional experience anymore. I actually felt bad for families with several kids that clearly were spending thousands of dollars for a vacation that honestly felt more like a job most of the time. I also noticed cast members that were either rude, impatient, or audibly complaining about their job position, shift, the heat, or anything else that an average worker would complain about. I understand that Disney employees are regular people and not robots, but previously I always felt that Disney employees were extremely proud to be working at Disney World and it reflected in how they treated guests and it added to the magic. Now I just felt like I'm was six flags and everyone was just counting the minutes until they could go home. I'm glad that I could take my daughter and have the experience with her, but I will not be returning to Disney World any time soon as it seems that the company and how they value the guest experience has diminished significantly from what I remember.

Hi, I don't really use Reddit but one of the people this is about follows me on Instagram and honestly I don't wanna hear from him right now.
I kept this mostly quiet because I thought it would behoove me to do so. However, this has not been the case, so I’ve got a story for y’all.
Some of you may know that I was inspired to start my pedal-building journey after seeing an episode of the JHS Show. As such, I started sending pedals I built to JHS shortly after founding Demonic Machines. In each box I included a letter which contained, among other things, my pronouns (they/them), which were clearly never read. For a few years I never heard anything back, which was fine. I sent the pedals as a token of appreciation more than anything so I wasn’t worried about it.
Then, one day this past summer, I got a message from Belle at JHS informing me that they were going to be putting a demo of one of my pedals up on their social media. I’m now embarrassed to say that I was stoked. Demonic Machines had been struggling since day one, essentially, and this could have been a major boost to my business.
When the video went up, I got 200+ new Instagram followers. It would have been more, but JHS took the video down after maybe an hour. I received a message from the JHS Instagram account that said, “Hey Lucky, we took the video down where we misgendered you! That’s on us. We’ll reshoot asap and let you know when it’s ready!!”
Apparently, there were people in the comments telling them that they got my pronouns wrong. I was not associated with these people. They acted of their volition.
The thing is, I get misgendered every day of my life. The kids at work call me “Mr. Lucky.” I wasn’t upset about it. I know who I am. I don’t need fucking JHS to affirm my gender. I kind of wish they had read the letters I included since I went through the trouble of writing them, but I just wanted to get more eyes on my pedals so I could sell them and maybe use the money to pay for my rent and groceries. But I know how straight people get embarrassed, and they DID say they would reshoot it, so I just replied, “oh okay. i wasn’t that worked up about it but i appreciate it.” I assumed, it being a minute-long video, that they would reshoot it, you know, “ASAP.”
Months went by. I saw numerous episodes of the JHS Show come and go, and numerous spotlights on other builders, so I sent them a message asking if they were actually gonna reshoot the spot. They said they would, and I responded by expressing concern that their CEO wasn’t going to reshoot the spot, that I was just going to get swept under the rug, and that he could have just owned up to the fact that he accidentally misgendered me instead of taking down the video that, again, I WANTED UP.
A few days later, Josh Scott messaged me from his personal account. He was upset that I had called him a CEO and that I had pointed out that he did a bad job of learning about the builder he had spotlit (what with him misgendering me and everything). He sent me multiple voice memos informing me that he’s not a CEO (though his Facebook profile says that he is); that he did, in fact, make an effort to learn about me before he shot the video (which is fair, I can’t disprove that claim); and that the reason they took the video down was because “they want to refer to me correctly” (or not at all, apparently) and because “people were tearing them apart” for misgendering me (cry me a fucking river, bro).
Now, I want to be clear: JHS did not owe me a demo. I did not send them pedals expecting a demo. But what I do expect is for people to do something when they say they’ll do it, which JHS did not.
So the other day, I messaged JHS to inform them that Demonic Machines is dead and they’re off the hook for that video (that I’m 99% certain they had no intention of ever reshooting). I also messaged Josh to ask if he could use his platform to tell people about Audio! Audio! since he told me to let him know if I needed anything. He declined. I can’t say I’m surprised.
I don't think I'm blameless in this. Maybe I should have been more patient. But the situation sucks and I wanted to vent.

This god damn update was so friggen frustrating, any only 60% of that was self sabotage. I'v spent literally 20 hours on this.
Why do this?
I wanted to take advantage of a few features that a 32bit board provides, but also didn’t want to drop a load of money on a board and screen, I also like Marlin.
You might also want to look at the Fly-E3-Pro-v3 and the Mellow FLY 4.3, which should be a drop in replacement for the stock screen.

Flashing new firmware to the touchscreen
First were going to flash the touchscreen with firmware that will work with the Mini E3, we’ll be using InsanityAutomation’s amazing fork of Marlin, at this time the (2.0bleeding branch doesn’t compile)

1) Extract File the file 2) Insert micro SD card 3) Format it as FAT32 with 4k blocks 4) Copy DWIN_SET into the freshly formatted mSD card 5) Power off your printer 6) Insert the mSD card into the screen of the printer.
7) Power the printer on 8) Wait about 30 seconds as the screen flashes, when it cycles through the pictures and says END!, then its done. 9) Power off the 3D Printer & Eject the mSD card. 10) Power it on to ensure the correct screen firmware flashed, it wont work for now.
Rewiring the touchscreen
Now you can swap out the boards and plug in all connectors, except the touchscreen and bl touch.

GND to GND TX2 to RX2 RX2 to TX2 5V to +5V 
RX NEEDS TO GO TO TX, transmission needs to be received, hence RX,TX.
To connect to the BTT board you have a few options:
  • Use 4 female to female Dupont connectors
  • Create a new cable with a JST XH 6x1 connector on the touchscreen side and a 5x1 Dupont (or 4 individual connectors), so you don't have extra wires.
  • Cut off the connector on the touchscreen size and crimp a 5x1 Dupont connector or use 4 individual Dupont connectors.

I need to upgrade my chinese 3018 pro to something that is more rigid and accurate. The 3018 has been good practice for a newbie but I've come to realize its limitations. My table space is limited so I need a more compact machine. Most objects I make are in 15" x 15" area. I will be using a Makita RT0701C or 1.5kW spindle so that I can mill soft metals and higher objects. I have narrowed down to 3 choices.
-Genmitsu 4030 proverXL V2 - size is right for my table. Accurate with ball screws and closed stepper motor. T slot spoil board. But lacks further upgradeability. Reviews also show there might be issues with quality control and poor customer service. Currently $1200 after discount.
-Fox Alien XE Pro - similar to the Genmitsu but has upgradeability with linear rails. Will need to buy the T slot spoil board. Currently $1750 with the linear rails plus another $150 for the spoil board. Price is a little steep to get the upgrades I would like.
