I see a ton of post about this laptop, so I figure I’d share my experience. I picked one up at Walmart back in February, it was cheap, available in store and seeing as I am a truck driver who hadn’t played video games since 2013(console) it just worked out as a option. I did get crucial memory upgrades: 64 GB DDR4 SODIMM RAM Kit, 2 TB M.2 Stick, plus a 2.5” SSD. IETS Cooling pad(single big fan, RGB) and a Xbox controller for game pass. Did have a lot of updates for drivers, BIOS and utilities. Then had a fun self learning experience in the wonderful world of adjusting settings on BIOS, Windows, NVIDIA and Intel, as well as undervolting and overlocking. Figured that out, on a Verizon 4G Mi-Fi Jetpack at that! And since haven’t had any real problems playing single player games to pass the down time I am required to be awake for. Games currently installed are Halo: Infinity, MCC, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and Andromeda, Titanfall 2, DOOM ETERNAL and STARFIELD.

1 Sonic Unleashed.

This game has always had a special place in my heart. Its my favorite for 2 reasons.
Reason 1 being, I have always wanted to play this game since I was a little kid. I never had a ps3 or xbox 360 growing up so I had no way to play the game. But recently this year, I picked it up and played it for the first time. On the night I got it, I got emotional because of how much I wanted to play this game as a kid, and now that wish has been fulfilled. And oh my gawd, it lived up to my expectations. The music was incredible. The high speed action was so fun. (Once I got used the qtes) And the story was pretty good. I'm not a guy that plays a game for story that much. I mostly just play it for the gameplay.
Reason 2 being, the main theme is my favorite theme in all of Sonic history. When I always listened to it, I felt like I was in the heart and mind of Sonic, while he was on the globe trotting adventure with his buddy chip. (Also the singer of Endlesss Possibility sang the phineas and ferb theme song. I grew up with that show and still watch it today. A platypus? PERRY THE PLATYPUS???) It was also the first song I learned on drums. :P

2 Sonic Frontiers

I have always loved the idea of open world games. The vast area of endless possibility. I could explore to my hearts content. Although my biggest gripe with the open world formula, is that you were normally pretty slow. After all, my favorite genre's of games were movement, and open world. so it would've been so cool to see someone combine them together. And that's when Sonic Frontiers dropped. picked it up the christmas of 2022 for my switch. And I loved the hell out of it.
The intense speed of it, with the amount of things to do was so cool. Also the glitches you could do were SO FUN. I loved the cyber space levels. And loved trying to get the fastest time. (the best level to speedrun imo is 1-2). Also the best soundtrack in sonic history. One Way Dream IS A BANGER. As well as Find Your Flame. I'm honestly really excited that they are probably gonna make another open world game.

3 Sonic Colors

Everyone has different opinions on this game as time goes by. But, I really like this game, the soundtrack is AMAZING, the story is simple but sweet, and its where Cubot got his first introduction! (Say what you will about the inclusion of Orbot and Cubot in the mainline games, but I really like them as Eggmans henchmen)
The gameplay is really fun. I will admit, I do wish the game had a little more 3D in it. 2/3 of the game is in 2D. But I don't mind it when the levels are still fun to play through. Although I'm not saying there aren't some bad ones in the bunch. (Lookin at you planet wisp act 3 and starlight carnival act 3).
I have always enjoyed the more comedic side of Colors. Sure the jokes are corny but, some of them are funny. Especially the pa announcements in the backround from eggman, I love those. My favorite is the one "Would the owner of a white hover car shaped like an egg please report to the front desk. Your car has been broken- WAIT WHAT THE HECK". I love the cutscenes where Sonic and Tails are interacting with each other, expressing their best friend kind of relationship.

I bought all the DLC from Trials Fusion the other day on Xbox 360. I heard at some point with the Legacy Ubisoft Servers being inactive you couldn't obtain Trials Fusion DLC. I debunked this on Xbox 360; Although I'm not sure about other consoles.

2024.05.18 23:12 andywiseman PS4 Controller on Macbook (Sonoma) FIX

If anyone else is still having issues connecting and using a PS4 controller on a Macbook Pro without it automatically joining a second player and initiating split-screen, I just discovered a fix I haven't seen in any old threads that is finally working for me.
With the controller connected (through USB for me) go to:
System Settings -> Game Controllers -> select the controller -> in the bottom left of this screen, click on the "+" symbol to add an application profile for this controller and add Baldur's Gate 3
Select Baldur's Gate 3 in the column to the left, and you should see an option to enable "Increase controller compatibility" (it says "enable this setting to use this controller with games that are designed for the Xbox 360 controller"). Enable this!
Hope this helps someone else, this was driving me crazy.

This is the game in my library, not sure if this is a game issue or an Xbox issue but..... Since I downloaded the new stuff then eventually went off to play something else, now when I want to go back to it, it now says nothing underneath it, has a different picture (seemingly it's the season 11 pic) and pressing it won't launch the game, is there and easy fix to this?

2024.05.18 21:11 Mr_anthroponyme Xbox Games Don't Work When Profiles Are Required

As the title says, my games don't work when I sign in with Xbox profiles. My Xbox tries to load into the game and then, after a pretty long time (up to 1-2 minutes), just freezes.
For example, I can play Xbox original games, but not most of my 360 games. If they are bought on the online store, they work.
I even tried to install Left 4 Dead ; nevertheless, my Xbox freezes when trying to sign in with a Xbox profile.
It's so weird. Any solutions?

2024.05.18 20:58 M_et Asus Strix GTX 970 Power and lights, but no video and not detected

I recently bought a GPU, hoping I could fix it since it seemed to show signs of life. The card has power LEDs that light up and the fans spin just fine, the system will even boot no problems but it goes straight to integrated graphics and doesn't show up in device manager or task manager. Would a BIOS flash of the GPU fix this? In the past I have had mild success with the heat gun or solder reflowing, but I don't want do do that just yet.

2024.05.18 20:36 Adsiduus Eli5: Why does a game such as the original 2009 MW2 run well on a console from 2005 (X360) but so poorly on my MSI GP70 gaming laptop from 2014 on lowest settings?

Question applies to all console games and their PC counterparts. I understand that consoles are manufactured at a loss for the manufacturer, but surely my GP70 has better or at least similarly powerful components? Are games just better optimized for consoles? MW2 on the lowest settings and about 720p resolution will run between 10-20 FPS on rainy maps. Did the Xbox 360 run at even lower resolution?

I bought these to line the tops of my bookcases I keep my games in I have a couple of sealed ones the Halo one I'll open and the MW2 is a duplicate.
