Hi,
Excuse me if I am asking possibly dumb question but I've used geometry nodes just once two years ago. Can you please explain to me whether models made with geometry nodes can be exported to engines (mainly to UE5)?
- I am not expecting geometry nodes to be exported into engine and work as a procedural generator (as it is with Houdini). But I suppose that if I create, for example, stairs with GN, generating just one, I can convert it to mesh in Blender and then export it as the fbx solid mesh. (?)
But what about other stuff?
- Is it possible to use hair made in the new Blender geometry nodes system? If yes do you know how?
- I know no curves can be exported from Blender to UE without addon but what about if curves are converted to meshes?
- And what about animations? I've found the YouTube video where the guy explains how to do it. Surprisingly, it was the actual tutorial, no clickbait, and it worked for him. But I expect some obstacles or exceptions. Can anyone confirm this from their own experience? it can't be so easy otherwise tutorials on it would be everywhere.
I'd appreciate any explanation as it bugs me for some time now but can't twist my mind around it.

I imported an asset which was a .glb, then I exported it as .fbx so I can use it in my work, however the textures look weird and out of place (its like placing a random color map on a mesh that doesnt belong to it). How can I fix this?

2024.05.20 23:59 Minionofgrox32 3D Printing / Exporting Single Keyframe with Connected Model?
Hey, Unity noob here - I've been trying to 3D print a Posed 3D Unity asset for personal hobby use.
Been ripping my hair out over this. I am trying to export a posed FBX from Unity to convert into a 3D printable format, but am stuck between exporting the full GameObject, or a modelless Armature. I have been able to temporarily pose the GameObject/Prefab by holding a specific keyframe in a scene, but selecting anything higher up in the hierarchy (like the model associated and is needed) puts it back to the default pose, and placing the animation on it throws errors about missing Rotations and Positions (image included). Exporting the full thing creates a spaghettified model in Blender (regardless of normals and such being tweaked)(also pictured) that is completely unusable, despite an intact Armature.
I have not been able to find how to make a specific pose in a keyframe into the default/T-pose, and even have deleted all other animations related to the object, narrowing it down a bit. I even tried deleting previous keyframes to set the one I wanted as the default, but this altered the desired frame (which I assume is a problem with me not knowing how this all works).
Is there something very obvious that I am missing, or is the anti-ripping tech preventing me from doing this? I've looked into lots of resources and have not found anything that helps my issue. I have been able to and even painted base models just fine, but would love a pose in this case :(
NOTE : Unity ver. 2022.39f. I haven't touched anything related to scripts, but have the FBX exporter.

I am working on a huge project that requires an American football stadium and the focal point is mainly the field, so a simple image texture or voronoi texture were completely out of question. Hair particles were way too demanding so I opted for Gscatter which is manageable on my rig.
Problem: The main problem I have now is I have no clue how to add the lines of the football field to grass that was made using gscatter. Is there a simple trick? —— My original plan was to export the model as fbx and map the second image onto the model in substance painter, but when I export as fbx it only exports one grass model… so I tried to convert to mesh and join the plane and grass, but I got an error that told me I needed a mesh to do that, so I tried to realize instances in geo nodes, and my blender immediately crashes every time…and if I turn off the view port render for gscatter then the grass disappears when I realize instances, so I can’t bring it into substance painter.
Is there anyway to map the second image onto the gscatter grass with the grass texture?!

So I want to make myself a small Law Follower Pet :'D Downloaded a MMD Model of him, converted the PMX File to a FBX File and already fixed everything in Blender with the CAT's Plugin, but he still looks so wonky? And it's just the Left Leg. Any Ideas how I can fix this? (Unity knowledge is above Basic, Blender... Below Basic :'D)
