5/11 I took my car in for service after it needed to be jumped. Afraid to turn it off I drove it directly to the dealership where I normally have it serviced. Explain the situation to the service guy. Was able to get a loaner that is typically covered with any service of $250 or more. We figured they probably needed a starter or an alternator. They call me back Monday and let me know what the issue was with my car. We took the loaner and drove off. Fast-forward I get a call stating that it’s the starter as well as the wiring they both needed to be replaced $1200 had a coupon they applied to my account which brought it down to $900. Annoyed I called around to get a reasonable quote I didn’t call them back that day. The following day I called them back and no answer. Thinking that’s odd that no one answered at a car dealership I called 2 more times, nothing. About an hour and a half later I get a call from the service guy stating just hang onto the rental and there was some legal issues with the new owner of the dealership and the old owner of the dealership and there was a lock put on the dealership none of the employees were able to work. Meanwhile, my car is stuck in the service department. I have no clue how long this is gonna take and have not heard back from anyone from the dealership. Seeking advice.

I have an 8-track player that does not appear to have any speed control on board (Project One TRP-870), and am looking to install something to control the DC motor speed. The motor shows NAM-3A 13.2V 2000RPM CW.
The motor has three wires, I was uncertain what type of board I might be looking for to control the motor speed.

But I have been updating here and there over the last two years to make it more modern with lights etc. I recently decided to replace the oxidized wire with all new marine grade wire, and installed Blue Sea's Mini-Add a Battery kit and their 5026 fuse panel. The mini add a battery schematic is attached, I now need to connect the ignition and need help/guidance so this is done properly. The part I am stumped with is where the Purple with Red Stripe wire connects to. I am assuming it powers the ignition. The motor date is 2012, Mercury 25hp 4 stroke EFI. The ignition is a Off/Accessory/Start; but I am unable to find any helpful schematics to assist me with the proper wire connections. Nothing exists in the 25/30hp Mercury handbook regarding how to properly power the ignition to the motor harness except the wire's color codes appear to help, but not to this level. The images below hopefully will help you see what I am working with. 1 - Add a battery schematic 2 - Mercury Engine Harness for 80/90/110HP outboards 3 - Would anyone be able to share their knowledge to assist with connecting the boat's keyed ignition to power? This is my current Mini-Add-A-Battery set up. This is Mercury 80/100/115HP color scheme is very similar to my Mercury's 25HP wire color scheme. Harness with alarm. I am converting my DRZ to street legal. It doesn't have a on/off switch as I am making it as light and reliable as possible as we will be doing the Great Idaho to Canada trail.this summer. My question is how can I write the headlight so that it runs only when the motor and not off the common power line that the turn signals etc run off of. Where can I tie the wire into to get power from the alternator and not the battery? Thanks in advance

Looking for help solving this problem. About 120k miles. There have been known electrical problems with this car for years, but never a safety issue until now. Previous issues were:

And I've changed the bulbs. VSA light is not on and cruise control is working normally. The bulbs are getting power as they illuminate to the dimmer setting when I turn the headlights on. But the brighter filament will not illuminate when I'm breaking. Turn signals, reverse lights, and emergency lights all work fine.
I've also noticed the seat warmer has recently stopped working (its fuse is fine too) and the power locks have been dying slowly for years. May or may not be related or relevant at all but maybe some sleuth out there knows about a wire harness somewhere that is connected to all of these things.

Recently I had my headgasket go out on my 2002 Acura rl, battery died, radiator is cooked. When things were getting better and in the process of swapping the motor an individual jumped the battery on the wrong terminals(yea me, I was dropped as a kid clearly). Turned the key 3 times before anyone with half a brain told me how stupid I was and now I’m fantasying how deep the grave is that I dug out by buying this car. So I’m wondering if anyone here has any ideas as to how I could go about diagnosing the problem. Certain circuits are retreiving power (by certain I mean my horn and headlights). But the dash light won’t turn on alarm system is dead etc. Do yall think I might just be able to replace the fuse or will I be handing this to the professionals to do a complete ecu and/or wiring harness replacement?

Has a gen 1 FCU. Shoots alright, but will need some love as the gun is a little old, and I don’t want to mess with it.
Toolbox of internal parts - 100$. Comes as pictured. I don’t do much tech work nowadays and this has served me well over the years. Includes the toolbox and all parts inside. I’m not going to itemize this, as it would take hours, but has multiple sets of VFC gears, motors, etc. I know there’s a cyma platinum compression set as well in there
Toolbox of external parts - 70$. Has multiple gearbox shells, an ASL lower, a VFC 4in rail system and outer barrel, etc.

For the last 4-6 months the Camry has taken longer to start. You hit the push button start and it will turn over 3-15 seconds before starting. It has never, not started. Just takes longer to do so. From my recollection, the problem occurs 90% of the time on cold starts. Replaced to starter motor with a brand new one from Rock Auto and didn’t touch the issue at all. Took it down to auto store and the check the battery and alternator and it read no issue. If it’s relevant- the car had been running for about 20min that day once they checked it. This morning I added a can of sea foam to the fuel to see if that helps the issue. I won’t really know until 36 hours pass with enough driving and I have time to let it sit and do more cold starts. Any advice? I’m trying to avoid spending excess amounts of money to fix this by replacing battery, alternator, and fuel pump. Guys at auto parts store found it interesting that it ALWAYS starts. You never have to ask it twice; it just sometimes takes much longer than it should. 254,xxx miles. To my knowledge the battery was replaced 3 yrs ago and fuel pump and alternator have never been changed. I’m 70% sure about that info. Car is mostly used for A to B groceries or running around town as well as her long 1hr drives once a week into a major city (don’t want to damage the Volvo with how people drive in the city)

So I have a Steam Deck LCD 64gb model which I upgraded to a 1TB SSD. I bought it refurbished from GameStop back in January 2024. I also added a 512GB Sandisk Extreme microSD card. Everything seemed fine but then after about a few days I noticed that the Steam Deck would wake very shortly after hitting the power button to suspend. This was very annoying and I couldn't figure out how to remedy the issue. I did a fresh re-imaging of SteamOS and nothing, the problem persists.
The steam deck would also turn on without the screen on and the fan would kick in to high gear. When this happens, I can hear a small motor spinning up for less than a second. If I hold the power button down to force shut-down, it will sometimes stay off. If I shut down the deck from the menu, it would make the small motor sounds and kick back on.
I got sick of this so I decided to install Windows because I believed it to be a software issue (I was running SteamOS 3.5.9 stable). This worked, but then a new set of problems started happening: Now it shuts off and reboots randomly. Sometimes it will boot up for exactly 1 minute and then shut off. When it shuts off on it's own, I hear the motors turn on and off but it will not boot. I have to hold down the power button until it stops trying to turn on.
I noticed that sometimes, if I removed the microSD card, the problems go away, but not for long.
I have dissassembled the Steam Deck and pulled the battery and SSD to see if this problem persisted. It did. I reset the BIOS to default, and reset the CMOS, but nothing. When opening the Steam Deck, I did notice that the red wire for the right trackpad was caught under one of the clips that is used to hold the housing shut. I re-adjusted it so it wont be crimped when the deck is closed back up. I don't know but does this all sound like a short somewhere in the hardware causing it to boot on it's own, shut-down on it's on, or never sleep? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've been wanting to try modeling a 009 narrow gague layout, and most of the track packs I see are Peco branded.
I want to get the starter track pack, but I don't know how to connect a controller and supply electricity to the track. I see there's one straight piece with some wires, but I don't know what I am supposed to connect them to.
Does anyone have some advice on how to supply electricitiy to the Peco track.

My girlfriends Ibiza 1.2 2008 MK4 has a non working passenger side window.
Pressing from the driver or passenger side buttons the window motor does nothing. I figured that the Door Unit Module could be faulty.
I unplugged both the door connector and the chassis connector and measured the LIN wire from the driver to the passenger side with a multimeter. Resistance is good and there are no signs of a broken LIN wire inside the car, except maybe the door harness but it is not possible to measure anything from there. 12V are also present on the connector. It also looks like the window switch on the passenger is getting voltage from the module since I can somewhat see the high/low voltage drop when pressing the switch.
Since the shitty window guides and motor are mounted to the door card and since I can‘t move the window up and down, how do I get to the module from here? Maybe someone had the same problem and figured any other related solution for this problem?
