Star Wars: Jedi Survivor - combat and crashes drag down a fun game

2024.05.20 19:27 Ok_Ladder358 Star Wars: Jedi Survivor - combat and crashes drag down a fun game

Despite the title, there are some elements of this game I really enjoyed. The visuals are great. There were multiple moments where I said to myself "I cant believe how far video game fidelity has come". I also enjoyed the story. For me, the benchmark of a good video game narrative is, "Do I care about what happens to the main characters?" And Jedi: Survivor got me to care about the main characters. The story deals with themes of loss and purpose but these are shallow explorations. I also really liked how it was a semi-open world. I bounced off God of War (2018) because it felt like I was being corralled from arena to arena like livestock. There's a good amount of exploration in this game and it rewards you appropriately for your curiosity. I am going to critique the combat mechanics for this game but none of that applies for the boss fights. They are kinda soulslike where you have to learn the attack patterns and find openings but much more forgiving with the amount of health and stims. As someone who is not great at souls games, the extra stims were nice because it meant more time fighting and I could learn the boss quicker. The mechanics are tuned for single combat which is why the boss fights were my favorite part of the experience. Finally, I love that droid BD-1 so much. They made him so darn cute that I was actually hoping for a section where I could play as the droid. There is so much life and character injected into him with the animations and sounds he makes.(Fun fact: the sound design for BD-1 was done by Ben Burtt, the sound designer the for the original trilogy and the guy who popularized the wilhem scream.) My favorite BD-1ism is when you kneel and meditate to acquire a skill point/extra life or force, BD-1 will hop off your back and sit down next to you, in a very monkey see, monkey do moment. Its so unbelievably cute and endearing that I would commit war crimes for this droid. I could keep going on about BD-1 but then this post would get too long.
However, the combat in this game is so unbelievably frustrating. Specifically, fighting multiple, tough enemies is a huge pain in the ass. What will happen is you are being attacked by 2 enemies and you're blocking and dodging your little heart out and finally you see an opening where no one is railing you so you press x to attack them and finally teach those droids a lesson. But whats this? A third droid is behind you and jumps at you with an unblockable attack? You now have to watch helplessly as that third droid sticks his electro-blade up your keister, which interrupts your attack and staggers you for second. The other two droids have recovered and decide to join the third droid in accessing your prison wallet, at which point they've drained you of 90% of your health and the B2 battle droids shoot in the face and you die.
Now the last paragraph is a bit dramatized and I hope at least one of you chuckled while reading it, but the point is, fighting multiple enemies is not fun. You can't cancel attack animations unless you use the dual blade stance(the weakest stance imo) so strategy becomes, take out ranged enemies first and then run in circles doing chip damage until there's one enemy left and then disembowel him. Just never stay in one place long enough to get triple teamed. There are lightsaber skills and force abilities that can be unlocked that improve you combat ability. The problem is those skills just don't do very much damage and leave you vulnerable to getting attacked so you rarely use them outside of boss fights. I think they should've made it more of hack 'n slash when fighting multiple enemies and then force you to slow down when fighting bosses and mini bosses. Really leaning into the power fantasy of wielding a lightsaber and being a jedi knight. Most of the lightsaber skills are under powered for multiple enemies and by the time you realize that you should be dumping skill points into confusion and telekinesis, you've already maxed out two lightsaber trees and yes the first respec is free but any respec after that costs a skill point??? Like I'm sorry but in what world does spending skills points to respec skill points make sense. The devs are actively punishing players who want to experiment with different stances or force powers and is very frustrating. To be fair, there is no level cap so for players who explore every nook and cranny or just spend a lot of time in the game this won't be a problem. But I mainly followed the story so respecing was costly and I didn't feel like grinding. This is a problem I have with RPGs in general. Unless you have a good reason, make respecing free or cheap. The point of this respec rant is to say that the combat could've been less frustrating if i could experiment with different builds and powers to find solutions.
Finally, this game got railed at launch for performance issues and in my experience these issues are still present. During my ~20 hours of playtime the game hard crashed around 5 times. I don't remember the exact number but it was definitely more than 3 and less than 10. I also noticed stuttering and poor frame rates happening sporadically throughout my play through. The most infuriating crash and the straw that finally broke my dromedarian ass was during the finale. With spoiling anything, there's a section of the game that makes you run a gauntlet where is just keeps sending waves of increasingly tough enemies, some of which were mini bosses in earlier parts of the game. Now I'm not the best gamer so it took me a couple of tries and when I finally finished the gauntlet I was very relieved. I could finally blink and my heart rate could come back down. I go to move on to the next area and the hard crashes without warning.I reboot the game I am back at the last meditation point, erasing not only the gauntlet but around 20 minutes of progress as well. Believe me when I tell you fellow redditor, this broke me. This level of stability is completely unacceptable for a game with a bonfire save system. This game had just erased ~30 minutes of unfun gameplay and this broke me. I put the game on story mode until the final boss fight.
I know just wrote lot of words detailing what I didn't like about Jedi Survivor but I don't think its a bad game. A bad game fails across the board and there's still reasons this game is enjoyable. Being a jedi is a popular fantasy and this game makes you feel like a jedi knight
Tl:dr despite some really enjoyable elements, the combat, the core mechanic of the game, when fighting multiple enemies is so frustrating its drags down what could've been an amazing game. This is due to being underwhelming lightsaber skills, unable to cancel attack animations and respecing is too costly to allow for experimentation

Charms Mini Pops - the perfect bite-sized treat! I was instantly drawn to the assortment of miniature lollipops, each bursting with sweet and fruity flavors. These tiny pops are perfect for snacking on the go or sharing with friends. With 75 of them in each bag, you'll never run out of these charming candies.
Though advertised as "mini blow pops, " they didn't have gum inside, which was a little disappointing. But the lollipops were still delicious and came in a variety of flavors, making up for that. They're also gluten and peanut-free, which is a great bonus for those with allergies.
The packaging was appealing, and the fact that these little treats are convenient to carry along wherever you go adds to their charm. I highly recommend these for kids' birthday parties or Halloween celebrations. They make a fun and delicious addition to any occasion!

🔗Gluten-Free Mini Pops Suckers (Tropical Mix) - 35 Pops, Peanut & Gluten Free

https://preview.redd.it/ivn97o8iui1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=347f958373cbefb8b9c08100a5dc16299b7ca79b
I've been using these Charms Mini Pops Suckers for a while now, and I must say, they're quite the treat! This Tropical Mix pack contains 35 individual, colorful pops in a variety of flavors. The best part is that they're gluten and peanut-free, making them perfect for sharing with friends and family.
One thing that stands out is the convenience of having each pop individually wrapped. It makes it easy to grab and go, whether for a quick snack or to hand out to kids. The flavors are a fun mix of tropical goodness, including flavors like Mango Madness and Kiwi Cooler.
However, there's one thing I wish was different: the packaging. The bag is a bit on the small side, and I'd love to see a larger option. But overall, the Charms Mini Pops Suckers are a delightful, colorful, and convenient treat to enjoy.

🔗Charms Mini Pop Assortment - Gluten-Free and Kosher Dairy Lollipops

As a lollipop lover and frequent candy consumer, I had the chance to try out the Fun Express Charms Mini Pops 300 ct. I was immediately drawn in by the cute packaging and the promise of 12 fruity flavors.
These little pops were the perfect size for both kids and adults, and they truly offered a variety of flavors. When I first took a bite, I was pleasantly surprised by how sweet yet dairy-free they were. It's always great to see a gluten-free and kosher product that everyone can enjoy at events and parties.
However, one downside I encountered was the inconsistent stick length. While some of them were sturdy enough to enjoy, others were so short that I couldn't hold on to them without them falling apart. This made the experience a little frustrating, especially when handing them out to friends.
Overall, the Fun Express Charms Mini Pops 300 ct provided a colorful, fun, and flavorful experience. They were great for Halloween treats, a sweet reward after completing homework, and a delightful addition to any party or event. Just remember to inspect the sticks carefully before enjoying them!

🔗Charms Valentine Lollipop Exchange Kit - 30 Count

As a reviewer, I've found Charms Valentine Pops to be a delightful addition to my Valentine's Day festivities. The lollipops are beautifully designed and their bright, vibrant colors add a touch of playfulness to any celebration. The flavors are absolutely amazing, and my personal favorites were Rainbow Sherbet and Strawberry Lemonade. The box contains approximately 30 individually wrapped pops, which is perfect for sharing with friends and family.
One of the things I appreciate most about Charms Valentine Pops is that they are gluten-free and peanut-free, making them a great option for everyone in my circle. However, I have noticed that the packaging is a bit flimsy, so it's essential to handle the lollipops carefully to avoid any breakage. Another small drawback is that the pops aren't as big as other lollipops on the market, but this quirk is easily overlooked when you consider their delicious taste and charming appearance.
Overall, Charms Valentine Pops have become a staple in my Valentine's Day celebrations, and I highly recommend giving them a try. They may be a small treat, but they are sure to leave a big impression.

🔗Charms Assorted Lollipops - Birthday Styled Gift

Charms Blow Pops are an assorted mix of lollipops, including Sour Apple, Watermelon, Cherry, Grape, and Strawberry, totaling 2 pounds. I've been using these in my daily life to add a touch of sweetness to my day. The packaging is thoughtful, with each item coming with a small refrigerator magnet featuring the Emporium Candy logo.
One standout feature of the Emporium Candy Charms Blow Pops is their variety. They never disappoint with the flavors and their ability to satisfy various cravings. As much as I enjoy the assorted mix, the Sour Apple and Watermelon flavors have truly stood out to me. However, I did notice a minor downside - these lollipops contain soy, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, and other allergens, so they might not be suitable for everyone.
In conclusion, although there are certain limitations due to allergen content, I highly recommend Charms Blow Pops for their delightful assortment of flavors and the fact that you can buy them in bulk to get more value for your money.

I recently had the opportunity to try the 100 pack of Charms Sweet Pops lollipops, and let me tell you, they brought back a nostalgic wave of childhood memories. These suckers reminded me of the classic flat shape, unlike many of the round ones I've seen lately. I loved being able to have six assorted fruity flavors all in one box. My personal favorite was the blue razzberry, but I also enjoyed the cherry, grape, orange, strawberry, and watermelon flavors.
One thing that stood out to me was the texture of the lollipops. While they were initially fun to chew on, I found that they became quite hard after some time, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the flavor balance was not entirely consistent, with some lollipops tasting predominantly sweet with little to no sourness. The visual appeal, however, was on point, with the vibrant colors and fun packaging.
Overall, my experience with the Charms Sweet Pops lollipops was a mix of nostalgia, fun, and some minor disappointments. While they didn't last as long as I would have liked due to their texture, they were still enjoyable and brought back a flood of positive childhood memories.

As a lover of all things sweet, I was excited to try Charms Mini Pops Assorted Flavor Candy Lollipops. With 101 round lollipop candies in assorted flavors, I couldn't wait to taste the rainbow. The gluten-free aspect made it a worry-free treat to enjoy, perfect for any party or celebration.
What stood out to me was the mini size of the lollipops. Their small 1.5-inch diameter made them easy to handle and share without fear of them falling apart. The resealable bag was also a great feature, ensuring my lollipops stayed fresh and ready for the next sweet moment.
However, I did notice that with a larger bag, the lollipops tended to stick together, making it a bit tricky to individually remove them. Nonetheless, this didn't deter me from enjoying the various flavors and sharing them with my friends and family.

🔗Charms Mini Pops: Indulge in 101 Mini Lollipops for Every Snack Time

https://preview.redd.it/jqrqio5lui1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca85cbdfc240a19ac9e7757f5aeb6fa16186bbba
These Charms Mini Pops are like a charming little party in my mouth! I've been using them in my daily life as a quick snack, but also, they've been a hit with my friends during parties. These mini lollipops are just the right size for your pocket or backpack, and they come in a whopping 101 count bag.
The assortment of 18 flavors is honestly the cherry on top of these cute little pops. The grape, cherry, and lemon ones are my personal favorites. Each flavor just bursts with fun and excitement. It's like a surprise in every lollipop!
One of the things that stands out the most is having individual wrappers for each lollipop. It just adds that extra touch of thoughtfulness. Plus, it makes for a super cute party favor. My kiddo has been having a blast taking them to school!
However, there's one thing I wish was better - the price. It seems a bit too high for the quantity, but I do understand that they've got to pay for the convenience and packaging.
But overall, I am thoroughly impressed by these Charms Mini Pops. They've been a delightful addition to my daily routine. So, if you're looking for a fun and yummy treat to add to your stash, these are just the pops for you!

I recently tried the Charms Blow Pops 2 lb bag, and let me tell you, they were a fun surprise. These lollipops are not just ordinary treats; when you think the fun is over, they deliver a delightful bubble gum center, making them a real double-action delight.
One of the best things about this Charms Lollipops assortment is that it includes a variety of popular flavors like cherries, sour apples, grapes, watermelons, and even strawberries. Although the flavor assortment may vary, the experience is consistently enjoyable.
For anyone looking to make their party or gathering more festive, these lollipops are a great choice. They arrive individually wrapped, making them perfect for party favors, candy treats, or even as stocking stuffers for the holiday season.
However, be prepared for the fact that since they come in a 2 lb bag, you might end up with some lollipops you're not as fond of. Despite this minor drawback, the overall experience with this Charms Lollipops assortment was enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend it for those who love candy and a touch of fun in their lives.

Some of the standout combinations included lemonade with sweet strawberry, lemonade with sweet blue razzberry, and sour apple with sweet cherry. The sweet flavors were balanced by the sour, creating a unique and enjoyable experience for my taste buds.

The pops were shipped quickly and arrived in good condition. I would definitely recommend Charms sweet and sour pops to anyone looking for a fun and tasty treat.

2024.05.19 19:47 Brohit96 My Review of Stellar Blade

Intro
I'd like to start by stating I didnt have high expectations for this game. The initial trailers made me think this game was going to be a shallow experience focused on the main characters sex appeal with some flashy visuals to back it up. Im happy to say this game exceeded my expectations.
Positives
Combat
The combat is easily the games strongest aspect. It is extremely to grasp and has enough depth to keep a player interested for the entire run time. It felt like a mix of Sekiro (focus on parrying and a balance meter, that most enemies, which is similar to the posture bar), Devil May Cry and GOW 2018/Ragnarok (Ability usage).
The sound and visual feedback was also fantastic. The perfect parry is the best example of this. Getting one of these, especially when parrying a full combo from a boss, was incredible. The various Beta Skills and Burst Skills were wonderful additions, each with their various uses and visual panache. The Blink and Repulse abilities were also nice additions, keeping the combats momentum.
I also loved how the game allowed me to lean into particular builds with its exo-suit system and the various gear one could equip. I loved my Beta Skill focused build which allowed me to gain Beta energy very quickly and spam Beta skills non-stop. The Trance mode perk on the exo-suit I used was just the cherry on top as it allows infinite use of Beta Skills while you are Tranced.
The ranged combat was surprisingly effective and well designed. I initially thought it would be a gimmick, to be used in niche situations but two particular missions (Altus Levoire and Abyss Levoire) convinced me that it close to, if not on par, with the design of the melee combat. Speaking of the two missions, they were so much fun. They felt inspired by Dead Space with the more claustrophobic level design, the effective jump scares and the necromorph-esque enemies seen.
Traversal
The traversal was solid. Eve felt smooth to control. Climbing was basic, follow the yellow-painted-assets which I don't mind. The less I have to look for discreet ledges, the better. I did notice that Eve would sometimes go through climbable ladders and ropes. While not super frustrating, it was a noticeable annoyance.
I loved the super sprint feature. It made traversing the larger worlds (Great Desert) much more enjoyable and replayable. I would love more open-world games to have this feature. However, if the super sprint activated at the edge of a ledge or ladder, Eve would not grab said objects but launch herself off them resulting in me taking significant damage. It never happened more than twice, but I did find it funny.
The biggest gripe I have though is thinking I'll make a jump, watching Eve go slightly past a platform, then trying to compensate by changing direction only to miss it again. This resulted in some annoying deaths.
Enemy Design (Bosses and standard enemies)
Every single boss was incredible. I rarely say this about most games as usually there are a few duds or boring ones (to compare it to Fromsoftware games, Dark Souls 3 is my favorite souls-like and even that had Halflight and Crystal Sage). Every single boss (Elite and Alpha) had distinct designs, and readable animations which made them a joy to fight. My top 3 bosses were Karakuri, Unidentified Alpha Naytiba and Tachy.
The same is true for the standard enemies. There was a great variety of them, each with there own move-sets. (the hardest one was definitely the Battle Droid). The two I hated however, were the Harvesters (I felt they had too much HP for their job as a path obstacle) and the Guard Turrets as whenever they were present, I knew the sequence would be annoying.
Music
Overall, the music was great. It definitely felt Nier Automata inspired, especially with the more dreamy like soundtracks. Two highlights were the Flooded District in Eidos 7 theme and the Raven boss fight theme.
Performance
The game ran flawlessly. I noticed no obvious frame drops. I did encounter one bug which prevented a door in Matrix 11 from opening (A naytiba is supposed to burst out of it but it never did).
Negatives
Story
The story was very boring until the last 5ish hours. I blame the boring characterization of the two main protagonists, Adam and Eve. The voice performances were flat. Major revelations barely affected Eve. I think the lore was more interesting with all the collectables found while playing. Each gave a bit more insight about the various aspects of the world which I liked. Some of the side quests were more interesting. I found more emotion in the Su and Enya side quest than the main story. Lily is the definite outlier. I liked her a lot as she had an actual personality.
The side-quests were a standard affair. Talk to an NPC/Bulletin Board, go to a location, find and item or kill a naytiba and come get the rewards. Yet they were quick and snappy which made them fun. Plus the rewards were always worth it.
Overall, I would say the combat and boss encounters more than carry the game (especially the final boss rush, which was just incredible) as the story unfortunately was not memorable. I have already started a New Game+ just for the boss fights, new outfits and skill unlocks.
Some other topics I wanted to talk about include:
The game's art style was fine. It gets the job done but doesn't stand out. The character models looked good but I did notice some obvious low-resolution textures on assets that a player could get close too. I think the latter half of the game is more visually interesting especially the Orbital Space Elevator. The naytibas are definitely the most visually intriguing parts of this game (and Eve, wink wink)
I loved that the developers gave us all the unlockable outfits for free. It really incentivized to find as many as I could and play dress-up with Eve. Fingers crossed for a 2B outfit since it just makes sense (maybe as a boss-rush reward?)
To conclude, Stellar Blade is a stellar game that I would highly recommend playing.
I would love to hear all your thoughts as well. Thanks for reading.

2024.05.17 22:26 Key_Newspaper_7336 Theme for your Chapter

Theme for your Chapter
Chapter Masters!
Tell me a bit about the lore of your chapter and what musical theme you would give them!
For me: Knights of the Angelic Sword Theme: Automaton Army March x Droid Army March by Pianistec
The Knights are an Ultimate founding chapter. They were meant to be the ideal defenders of humanity: safeguarding Imperial worlds, rescuing citizens, and defending the Imperium as a whole. All of that changed when their home world was destroyed by Chaos. Since then, they have become warmongers. They no longer wait for the enemy, they go to them. The best defense is a good offense and this offense is never stopping. They declared a crusade and as such have taken more than the 1000 marine limit.
Tell me your lore!

2024.05.17 19:16 _RandomB_ What are your commercials right now on the broadcast?

I know commercials vary based on where you are location wise, but where I am, there's one particularly tough commercials that play and the broadcast always makes me laugh, because the announcers can't know which commercial is playing where. THe one I see most these days is Suicide Dad, where this older guy is struggling with depression, his daughter is trying to help, it's like super dark and sad and heavy. Bro gives away his guitar, for god's sake! We've all struggled with mental health, some more than others, I'm not commenting on the commercial's message. It's needed if it saves one person, right?
What I love is when it comes on, drags you down into that mental space, then it ends, and the Yes Network theme kicks back up and upbeat Michael Kay just starts in with "Next Wednesday is Star Wars night at the Stadium! Come get your Oswaldo Cabrera Battle Droid Bobble Head!"
It reminds me of the Casey Kasem clip where he gets all pissed about the song playing before or after the message about a kid's dog dying he just read.

2024.05.17 01:55 Rednuht0 Tweets theory BB

Tried to post on other places but pretty sure it's gonna get deleted because it's meme related
I have been following the Kitty tweets mostly for entertainment, they are fun, but I think I see a theme. So here is my tinfoil hat theory.
1.It's not about GME anymore. The game powerup logo, batman tweet says - now we have a symbol, that is a warning, fear etc.
Braveheart meme, dying gamestoooop rallying cry - Wallace dies at the end of movie, but inspires with his death.
Finally, the diversion tweet, magic, the prestige, kasas city shuffle. Everyone is looking at GME stock again, but that's the diversion, kansas shuffle
  1. So what is it if not GME ?? He is, saying he is very careful what he says so listen. He is posting SIGNS. What signs do many of the tweets have in common?
Candman says "Be 🐝 my victim" with the bee emoji after the word be =BB
It's Britney Bitch BB
Goosebumps- Bear Beware BB
Busta rhymes -Busta Bust BB
Breaking Bad, and Jason Borne in Boston might be a stretch, but
BLACKBERRY. There is some dd out there about solid fundamentals for BB..
Not a bagholder, I only played amc in 2021.
My positions : shares and june/July calls
Just lottos, not full porting on some meme tweets, but this a casino, so I'm gonna gamble.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

2024.05.16 12:05 ConJediMaster If you had to pick just 1 soundtrack / theme for each of the trilogy films, which one is your favourite / would best represent that film?

Star Wars has some epic music as well know - some of the most recognisable and iconic themes in the world! But if you were only allowed to choose 1 piece of music, which ones would instantly jump out as being THE theme for each of the trilogy films in your opinion? I'll go first;
The Phantom Menace; "Duel of the Fates" (Honourable mention to "The Droid Invasion & the Appearance of Darth Maul")
Attack of the Clones; "Across the Stars"
Revenge of the Sith; "Battle of the Heroes" (Honourable mention to "Anakin's Dark Deeds")
A New Hope; "Ben's Death and TIE Fighter Attack"
The Empire Strikes Back; "The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme)"
Return of the Jedi; "Into the Trap"
The Force Awakens; "Rey's Theme" (Honourable mention to "March of the Resistance")
The Last Jedi; "Ahch-To Island"
The Rise of Skywalker; "Destiny of a Jedi" (Honourable mention to "The Force Is with You")

A new foe who call themselves The Clockwork Meistress has taken over different parts of the Otherworld at different times. It is your OC/s job to stop her plans and take out the meistress and, her army of gearbots and her Gear Droids.
Context: These are alternate scenarios from where your character is in place of The Polymorpher when she was supposed to be thwarting the evil "doctor"s plans
Rules: - No gods or very omnipotent characters - No wiping out all of the gear-bots & Gear Droids simultaneously (since the events from each droid portrait happened at separate times) - Don't spawn wipe the gear-bots, not the Gear Droids & Clockwork Meistress - The RP ends once Clockwork Meistress (and her mech) have been defeated

2024.05.15 05:53 SlimeSpree MEGA SIZED Rodem review (with many pics!)

MEGA SIZED Rodem review (with many pics!)
Rodem Slime Shop
7.5oz for $12.99-19.50 Labels are now waterproof! Yaaay! 💪🏻
I was so excited to get into this giant package from one of my favourite stores, and one I really love to support as they deserve it! This was actually a couple of orders I placed over time and Rodem contacted me to ask me if I wanted to combine them which demonstrates their incredibly attentive customer service. Usually the customer needs to contact the store for this to happen.
Included inside was powdered borax, a free gift slime for each order plus one more because it was a large order and they are generous. This exchange with Rodem got us chatting and then something very special transpired but I will post separately about that as I have to cram a lot of slime into this review and have limited space for images!
I had to brew a cup of tea, sit down and take my time going through all of these to make sure I combined all the correct things! It helps a lot that they are all pictured on the enclosed invoice but it would be helpful if they were packaged together. That having been said, separating the heavy pots of slime from the clays is a good idea when the order is this big and heavy so I can't complain!

  • LEMON TART (DIY butter snowfizz, lemon cookie scented)
This smelled OH SO good. The lemon and the cookie notes comes through and were just delicious and very realistic smelling! Sometimes lemon scent is reminiscent of citrus scented cleaning products to my nose but not this, this was an excellent effort. but My clay lemon was a little squished but clay often can be due to being delicate and tricky to package and the issue is not uncommon with any company.
The clay was soooo very soft, moist and pleasant to squish into the base. After you take the base out the pot you are met with a little bit of “caramel” sauce on the bottom of the pie. It’s all very mouth watering. This was the perfect, massively inflatable snow fizz and I was so in love with it. It was super crunchy and had the expected abundance of ASMR fizzles. It was beautifully activated and in every way a perfect slime. Some may find snow fizz a bit pokey but this wasn’t bad at all, the inflation was very cushioning!

  • TEA TIME (DIY clay, strawberry, blackcurrant, blackberry blended fruity scent)
The scent is fresh, fruity and yummy and the charms SO charming and well thought out! This clay was slightly stiffer and a tad dried out but the base extremely moist, silky and jiggly with tons of resistance on the pulls and I didn't end up with any lumps. It becomes extremely light, puffy, chubby and flubbery with massive pops and medium to soft clicks on the pokes which get louder as it inflates. I love Rodem’s take on this texture, it has all the awesome elements of the fluffy slimes I got from Seoul Gage but was more robust with no destabilisation issues (I found the SG ones a little dehydrated and sticky the next time I played.)
https://preview.redd.it/uggzl3jxai0d1.jpg?width=5069&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0aff4fec5a963375e26dba47933e031964192c1

  • BUMPER CAR (silica sand x salt, rose scented, also a choice of peach scent if you prefer)
I love rose scent and this was PERFECT! It isn’t a perfume type scent, just pure, sweet rose water like rose Turkish delight or, indeed, actual rosewater. I was utterly obsessed! This was a stunning slime with a beautiful iridescent pink topper and the most gorgeous little pink bumper car charm. It sounded absolutely incredible to crunch and combine. The little pops, sizzles and crackles were out of this world. This was so heavy in silica crystals and yet not pokey as the pieces were quite smooth and small but of course your mileage may vary. I can’t express just how much I adored this slime, one of my all time favourites!

  • YUMMY POPCORN (styrofoam slay, caramel popcorn scented)
The fact this comes with a little paper popcorn bag containing the Styrofoam "popcorn" is the cutest touch ever! I adore Rodem, they think of everything to make the experience so incredibly fun. This smells just like freshly popped caramel popcorn with a tiny hint of sweet corn, I loved it! The two hyperrealistic popcorn charms that comes with it are hilarious!
The base was soft, jiggly, super clicky and fluffy and the Styrofoam really satisfying to crush into it. I just couldn’t get over how spectacular the scent was, it was making me hungry! This slime was a slightly looser slay texture and needed a little bit of activator to aid in handleability but not much. It had a few nice medium pops in it but very little hold, which unfortunately isn’t to my taste but many people love that. I was tied over this slime as the scent was just divine but I prefer more holdable textures. That is a reflection on my personal tastes however, not the slime which was great! If you like jiggly slays you’ll fall in love with this. I may not be a slay person but there is no way this wasn't going be a keeper, it had just too good a scent and crushing the styrofoam is great fun!
https://preview.redd.it/x9yw1riaci0d1.jpg?width=9009&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f3ceaaf5020ef0116257b956ce3da686e84b61c

  • CAROUSEL (DIY clay, citrus fruit and aloe blend scented)
The scent wasn't bad but just wasn't a hit for me, a personal taste thing again. The clay was a little bit smooshed and it was tricky to tell what it was but extremely, soft squishy and moist. (Incidentally it was, you guessed it, a carousel 🎠)
The base was quite loose and jiggly and called for a little bit of activator but very soft, chubby, quite matte and pleasant in the hands. This combined into a huge, soft, marshmallowy mound of slime with a lovely plush surface. Super stretchy and fun to fold for soft bubble pops and lovely soft sizzles. It was a little on the loose side for my personal tastes but slay lover will again adore this! It was a well made slime.
https://preview.redd.it/d6t6p7llci0d1.jpg?width=5515&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fff18d675300332aa3e06239028d0de57701e0c1

  • EMMENTAL CHEESE CAKE (DIY clay/butter, savoury cheese cookie scented)
This was a very interesting, fun and unusual scent. A little sweet but notably savoury with a subtle hint of cheese. The first time I played with it I enjoyed the novelty but the second time I wasn’t sure if I loved it enough to buy again. It’s hard to describe but definitely worth trying.
The HUUUUUGE cheese clay came in a sealed package and was so soft and pleasant to squish. It became a ginormous, matte, sort of butter texture, which was both fairly holdable and yet exceedingly soft. It stuck to my play area a bit. It was quite a job to handle it on account of its size and a difficult texture to describe. It didn’t feel sticky at all on my play surface but stuck to my hands when I tried to pick it up and stretch it. When I pressed my hand into it on the surface it didn’t stick or feel sticky but if I picked it up to try and stretch it, it was very gooey and hard to shape. Activator didn’t seem to make that much of a difference. This was a texture unlike any other I’ve experienced. It’s one I’m a little lukewarm on but still enjoyed playing with for an unusual experience and worth it for the mega-sized clay cheese alone!
https://preview.redd.it/0kgtacjfdi0d1.jpg?width=5846&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=075fb7676513e410ab1c2962e84c2cbec9cd13b7

  • MIXED COFFEE (super gloss thick T&G, mixed coffee and coffee ice cream blend scented)
This was a delicious, very creamy coffee ice cream/frappe coffee creme scent, very rich with subtle notes of chocolate. It was a medium thickness, super clicky, moist glossy texture with decent resistance on the stretch. Very good and elastic with tons of bubble pops and wet crackles. This was an extremely pleasant and easy to play with moist and jiggly glossy slime. The longer you play the looser it gets but not problematically so.
https://preview.redd.it/hhob7e8ndi0d1.jpg?width=4823&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eac50e47e3ae4040528d30a10444dede22dea5aa

  • FUJI APPLE ICE CREAM (DIY cloud creme, apple scented)
A lovely, fresh, crisp apple scent. The clay apple is so cute with its velvety exterior and so perfectly made. It was amazing fun to squish. This combined to a super stretchy and ultra fuzzy cloud creme. It was extremely light and super sizzly. This was another texture which is familiar and yet very unusual on account of the extreme fuzziness. I loved it and found it pretty amazing to look at!
https://preview.redd.it/o5fah6ugei0d1.jpg?width=4905&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3941974b12b9e28570cad567ace8fb1fa46f2d9

  • FLAT PEACH CAKE (DIY clay and coated jelly/fluffy snow, peach scented)
The base has an absolutely beautiful fresh peach scent. Another stunningly well made clay which looks so much like a peach with the way they have created the fuzzy surface and peachy-perfect colour shift. It was soft and great fun to combine into the jelly base. The resulting slime was nice and clicky with big, soft bubble pops. It really felt plush and soft-surfaced on my fingers as I stretched it and was very moist, chubby, jiggly and flubby when I set it down. This was ultra inflatable with nice soft sizzles.
https://preview.redd.it/u2372z0wei0d1.jpg?width=5691&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f60afeb65d0269a8d83619526e9b97a4c264cb49

  • YAKULT GELATO (DIY snow creme, Yakult scented
A pleasant, mild, fruity yogurty scent. The little scoops of ice cream were so soft, moist and great to squish. This started off with lots of resistance and a nice plush feel as I pulled it. It had moist clicks and soft bubble pops. While it gave a little bit as it warmed up, it did retain a bouncy and elastic stretch with a nice little bit of resistance. This is another fun, boingy, flubby, jiggly texture, which is super inflatable and great fun to play with.
https://preview.redd.it/uaecn0p0fi0d1.jpg?width=8457&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0009976a0dc188ea74922188d351bcc7aeef8dd1

  • MY COSY SPACE (cloud slime, sweet juicy peach/added perfume)
It’s so ironic that cloud slime is my favorite and yet I have so very few of them retained in my collection as I just can’t find ones I love that drizzle perfectly! I was very, very excited for a cloud from Rodem but also anxious as clouds are so rarely perfectly in line with the exact level of drizzle I’m looking for! I absolutely ADORE the aesthetic with the soft little rug that comes with it in the shape of Rodem’s bunny logo and the couch charm, how stinking CUTE! The slime even matches! I think this is the best charm/slime combo I have ever seen, a big standing ovation for Rodem on this incredibly whimsical and charmingly presented slime!
The scent was a relaxing and homely peachy perfume with notes of bubble bath and baby powder. The drizzle was good!! True cloud is a hard slime to make to spec and, in light of that, a lot of companies don’t really bother with it. I’m so happy Rodem did and did such a great job. It was very soft and plush with gorgeous blankety folds and I have everything crossed they make more of this texture soon. I have no idea what I’ll do with the delightful little rug other than treasure it forever! Haha!
Even just looking at these photos as I type out the review I'm smiling again! I wish this slime was my dressing gown! haha!

  • ONIGIRI (white glue foam chip, savoury black sesame.)
Another incredibly interesting and unique savoury scent. This was definitely giving sesame seed/oil, albeit a bit more subtle than the real thing. I would say your mileage may very on this scent, it won’t be for everyone but it is certainly worth trying for a whole new experience.
This was a medium thickness, glossy texture which was very chewy and clicky. The foam pieces were quite hard and angular but crushable if you really go for it. This was a very novel floam texture which made a great change from the usual balls. This was exploding with fantastic crackles and pops, top tier sounds. I think the angular foam is even better for trapping air as this slime sounded like a tiny elephant stampeding in a bubble wrap factory! I got some big air pocket type bubbles from this one too!
https://preview.redd.it/t6eh86yigi0d1.jpg?width=5986&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5954f9b63ef8b82f6b18c833abed2b45aa816ce0

  • FRENCH APPLE PIE (white glue/snow/fluffy, French apple pie scented)
The apple and the crust both come through in the scent, as well as a little hint of caramel (which is very typical of a French tarte tatin, well done Rodem!) The little doilies in the bottoms of the clay pots (even though the clay is wrapped) are yet another gorgeous little touch that impress me about these guys, I love their intimate attention to detail.
The clay was again super soft and pleasant to squish into the nice, clicky base. This was a lovely, chubby, stretchy slime. It was a little on the thicker side and created satisfying farty bubble pops.
C'est bon!

  • SAKURA SAND (sand slime, sakura flower scented)
This is an absolutely beautiful scent. A slightly cotton candy leaning sweet Sakura. I love pink, I love sand slimes and I love Sakura scents so this really pleased me! Unfortunately I found it very sticky and loose so added a lot of activator until it was more resistant and was able to get it where it needed to be. Once I did it had great bubble pops and was a very sand-dense and crunchy/sizzly sounding slime, the exact sort of sand slime I like.
https://preview.redd.it/z24t4ms5hi0d1.jpg?width=5704&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38d0ba14bbeeec427f15096407d5c23c0c9f0f67

  • STRAWBERRY MATCHA SUGAR CAKE (snow fizz, strawberry matcha scented)
A nice scent with both strawberry and Matcha coming through. This was an extremely fluffy, airy snowfizz with tons of fantastic ASMR sounds, so fizzy, sizzly and fun to inflate and tingle-inducing to deflate. It started off feeling like a light, sugary super airy scrub and got denser as I played. Another great slime.

  • TANGHULU BALL (big foam ball, strawberry-ade)
This had a very subtle strawberryade scent. The giant floam balls were a total novelty to me and SO much fun! Who doesn’t love the feeling of big balls in their hands!? 🙊 The base was quite loose and wonderful for plentiful crackles and pops. I really enjoyed this!
https://preview.redd.it/37msqhrnhi0d1.jpg?width=8440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65fa12490f41bec1c7c30cea77764e8082b63382

  • STEAMED BUN (chewy mochi texture, sweet red bean BingSu)
This was an extremely savoury scent, there is some sweetness there but it was very much umami focused and I really enjoyed it! I was getting notes of red bean with a saltiness.
This is a moist, super clicky, jiggly slime with two large sponges in it that crush like jelly cubes. This is extremely bubbly and full of juicy wet crackles and high pitched big pops. You can create absolutely gargantuan air bubbles with this texture. If you, like me, don’t typically enjoy loose jiggly slimes, there is a damn good chance that you will enjoy this as I loved it! It was just so multifaceted with what it offered. First, you have the unusual scent which is pretty intriguing and different. Then you have the two giant cubes to crush which is always nice. Then you have the joy of the crackles, pops and loud clicks. Finally, you have the enormous bubbles! You just can’t not have fun with this!
That bubble (slubble?) was bigger than me!!

  • PLOP DUCKLING (Snow creme, lemon meringue scented)
This has a gorgeous and accurate sweet and creamy lemon meringue scent. It’s so much fun watching the little duck’s butt slowly dive into the slime when you pop him on there.
This was exactly the texture and scent I fancied finishing on and quite by chance it was! I couldn’t find Rodem’s description for this one’s texture until later so I had no idea what to expect as I had forgotten, what a joy!!! This combined into a really lovely, soft sage green. This is another light, soft, squishy, chewy and chubby inflating texture that ends up airy and puffy. I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately that is one more image than I am able to embed on Reddit so please click here to see it!
With Rodem, nothing is fully predictable and every texture brings with it a nice surprise. This is especially pleasing to experience when you place big orders. There is nothing more disappointing to me than buying a lot of slimes from a company just to discovered there is hardly any nuance between them and the experience is basically a rinse and repeat one, texturally identical and/or predictable. Rodem break the mold and throw in some very unusual elements and scents. Their themes are so well thought out and utterly charming and beautifully presented. They produce so many textures and master them, each one designed with so much love and attentiveness.
I really adore this company and feel they work hard to bring joy and excellence to the slime community. Recently one of the more commercial slime companies was caught using Rodem’s brand as a key word on their google ads to steer business away from them and onto their own website which I thought was in very poor taste. It is however testament to the fact that they knew Rodem was a company slime enthusiasts were talking about. And so we should be! It is my pleasure and honour to continue supporting this wonderful company. I'm so excited to see what they come up with next!
I loved pretty much every slime and the ones I didn’t were more so a personal taste thing than a quality control issue. There were a couple I found less handleable or with activation issues (Emmental and Sakura Sand) but that is pretty damn good going for an order this huge and the sand one was easily fixable. A well deserved 9.9/10

2024.05.14 21:24 Technical-Pie-5775 Trip Report: 10 nights from the UK (very long)

For context: we have two kids age 8 and 5.
Just back from 10 nights at POFQ, our first ever Disney trip. Overall really liked the hotel, it's a shame they had a pipe burst in their swimming pool and it was being repaired for most of our stay, but it was still a really nice place. Swimming pool at Riverside was only a 10 min walk away.
I had a good outline of our itinerary for the whole stay written up before we left with plenty of ADRs , however what we actually did was quite different.
Wrote up as much as I could remember, the exact order of events in particular is a bit muddy but I did my best.
Day 1: Arrive in the early evening, went to the pool, had inner in the food hall, went to bed.
Day 2: Genie + at Magic Kingdom. Totally screwed up EE that day because the park opened at 8am that day which caught me off guard, but aside from not rope-dropping Seven Dwarves as planned, we still got SO much done that day.
Arrived at 8am park opening.
Jungle Cruise
Big Thunder Mountain x 2
Pirates of the Carribbean
Ariel
Barnstormer x 2
Dumbo
Genie + Peter Pan
Laugh Floor
Genie + Buzz Lightyear
Peoplemover
Cosmic Rays for lunch, chosen for it's close proximity and indoor tables. Fine but extremely boring.
Genie + Space Mountain/Speedway (in two parts since my youngest didn't go on it, I took both my kids to speedway while my husband had his turn)
Big Thunder again
Small World (but son needed toilet in queue so we left and husband and daughter stayed)
Then we went back into Smallworld while daughter and husband did Barnstormer again.
Genie + Winnie the Pooh.
Dinner at Skipper Canteen - so good!
We also watched the parade that day but it was sooo hot, we opted for a poorer view from a main street shop in the shade. Was not worth sticking out the heat for the length of time you would need to get an optimal view. I think trying to go our very first day was a mistake because we weren't acclimatised at all yet.
The longest queue we had that day was probably for Smallworld. Everything moved really quickly! Was also happy with Genie+.
Day 2: Animal Kingdom
Had entry issues and needed cards re-assigned at entry so kinda messed up FOP EE rope drop but husband and daughter persevered anyway. Son and I did Na'vi River and explored Pandora and stared Wilderness Explorers. Spent a LOT of time in Pandora gift shop.
Gorilla Trek
Wildlife Express and Rafiki's Planet Watch.
Festival of the Lion King (so good!)
It's Tough to be a Bug
Triceratops Spin
Had really nice homey feeling cookie and gigantic ice cream in Dinoland
Dinosaur (3 of us loved this ride, my son thought it was a bit too scary also it seemed like they should increase the height requirement because he could barely reach the bar to brace himself. I know it's being discontinued though.)
Safari
Dinner at hotel.
Day 3: Hollywood Studios
Successful EE rope drop for Rise of the Resistance
Smuggler's Run
Met Donald Duck
Met Goofy and Max
Star Tours
Runaway Railway (queue was brutal in the sun but it was a great ride)
Indiana Jones Show
Star Tours again
Muppets 3d
Race Academy - did not know what to expect coming in. If we had known we would not have trekked all the way across the park in the heat for that. My son DID like it, but it really didn't feel like it was the same quality as any of the other shows or rides.
Went back to Galaxy's edge for Blue and Green milk + puffbread. All really good. We possibly did Star Tour again, I don't remember haha.
The wait times for everything else being very long + the heat had us going back to the hotel early.
Dinner at hotel.
Day 4: Magic Kingdom Day 2
Tried to EE rope drop 7 dwarves but it was down and we decided not to wait it out (rookie mistake)
Teacups
Thunder Mountain x 2
Split up and did Haunted Mansion/ Smallworld (and got stuck on Smallworld for like 15 minutes)
Haunted mansion crew did Carousel while waiting for us, then we did Carousel after.
Took Daughter to meet Pooh and Tigger while the others did Speedway + People Mover .
Pinocchio Haus for lunch somewhere in there, really good flatbread!
Back to hotel early for dinner.
Day 5: Genie + Epcot.
Failed to get Guardians Boarding at 7am.
EE Test Track
Mission Space (Green)
Genie + Remy
Genie + Soarin
Moana water walkthrough
Genie + Living with the Land
Got boarding for guardians for about 6pm. Cancelled ADR because of it.
Spaceship Earth
Met Moana
Genie + Nemo
Genie + Figment
Met Figment
Met Joy
Nemo again
Turtle talk with Crush
Quick Dinner in Mexico
Gran Fiesta Tour (honestly had no idea this was here, really cool building, kids liked the boat ride)
Finally boarding group for guardians called at nearly 7pm.
Really great day! I seemed to be able to book really quickly back to back for Genie +. Kids really liked all the chill dark rides .
Wanted to do Frozen that day but the Genie+ was sold out even before lunch.
At this point we are really just trying to get things we missed
Day 6: Magic Kingdom Day 3
Successful EE rope drop of Seven Dwarves. Said 75 min wait when we entered but it really wasn't too bad, maybe 30-45. This ride had amazing theming, but was lacking as a coaster.
Teacups
Split up and 2 of us did astral orbiter that had a wait time of 25 minutes, and the other 2 did space mountain with a wait time of 35 minutes. Space mountain finished first!
Carousel
Pilharmagic
Swiss Family Treehouse
Enchanted Tiki Room
Magic Carpet - this seemed to be my son's favourite of this style ride. He's been talking about magic carpets evey day since.
We actually had a boarding time for Tron but the kids got fed up of the heat so we gave up and cancelled or place in the virtual queue.
Took the train back to the entrance. Very pleasant.
Dinner at hotel
Day 7
Epcot Day 2
We really wanted to do Cosmic Rewind again and do Frozen since we missed it the other day.
We failed to get a 7am boarding so bought an ILL for 11:30
EE rope drop at Frozen, which was down and they tried to get us to go elsewhere but it was open by about 8:45.
Gran Fiesta Tour
Met Asha
We were going to go do Soarin but we got distracted by a giant Joffrey's donut and a squirrel that was fun to watch, and then there was a minor child meltdown so we had a long break before heading to our ILL for Cosmic Rewind. Totally worth the cost.
I tried one last time to see if the kids would explore the World Showcase but they voted to go to the waterpark instead.
We went back to the hotel, then off to Typhoon Lagoon where 3/4 of us got minor scrapes in the wave pool, but kids loved it and would have gone back a second day.
Went back to Disney Springs and got dinner at Chicken Guy. Probably the best fast food I have ever had.
Day 8
Animal Kingdom Day 2
This was a lot of running around chasing short queues. Genie + would have been really good for us at this park.
EE rope drop Everest x 2. Was really good but going backwards made my stomach a bit iffy.
Na'vi River
Safari (finally saw an elephant!)
Nemo Show
Lion King Show again
Met Dug (first character my son was actually excited to meet)
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Back to Disney Springs for Dinner. Went to Pizza Ponte so we could all choose a different topping of pizza. Also walked around and heard live music before we left.
Took daughter to Happily Ever After fireworks that night. Stood above the railway station for a quick escape at the end.
Day 9
Last day :(
Genie + Hollywood Studios
Genie + didn't seem to work as well at this park, it seemed at Epcot I could always book after entering a ride and we used it a lot but at HS it seemed strictly 2 hours apart. Maybe I am just not seeing it clearly.
On reflection , next time I would probably do Slinky Dog at EE followed by Runaway Railway and buy an ILL for Rise and skip Genie + if I was looking to save some money. I would de-prioritise Toy Story Mania next time, but our first day we missed all of the Toy Story area.
EE rope drop Rise of the Resistance. Pretty sure we were on the ride before EE even officially started.
Smuggler's Run
Met The Mandalorian and Grogu (probably the best meet!)
Star Tours
Alien Flying Saucers
Droid Depot
Genie + Slinky dog
Beauty and the Beast show
Met Chewbacca
Met Pluto
Genie + Runaway Railway
Star Tours again
Genie + Toy Story Mania. Ride broke down while in queue. Waited for ages before the put us on the other side, almost missed our next booking.
Oga's Canteen. Tried 4 different non-alcoholic drinks and they were all good. It was super cool. Only downside is we had a high table (standing only) and my son couldn't see the top of the table/anything and he was pretty unimpressed by the whole situation. Flying Saucers Mama Melrose for dinner. Muppets 3d Fantasmic. I read 15 min early "at least" aimed for 30 minutes early, and the place was well more than half full by then. Took a really long time to leave. If there is a next time I would go much earlier and bring snacks just to make getting out easier. Overall I was hugely impressed with the level of detail in everything, and all the cast members were amazing. It was a really cool experience, and it's hard to imagine never going back. If there is a next time I really want to explore the world showcase and do more sit-down meals. We had a lot planned but the kids didn't have the stamina for being in the park all day so we cancelled almost all of them. We also ended up doing parks in a somewhat different order than I initially planned. Kids got really tired of travelling on buses, which is also why we didn't break in the middle of the day and then going back to the parks. Would look at skyliner options next time. Things we didn't get to do:
Try dole whip (never noticed a place to buy it, ice cream was often an urgent necessity so didn't seek it out specifically) Tron (too hot to wait for boarding group when it was already day 3 at magic Kingdom and basically felt done.) Explore World Showcase (too much walking for few rides, from kids' perspective) Eat for fun more (we ate more out of necessity but found fun snacks when convenient) Tower of Terror (queues too long and genie + bookings too late) Frozen Singalong (timing never seemed to work out) Luminous (son had no interest in late night shows so we only did a couple things at night.) Take ride on skyliner. Something that surprised me: queues for popular rides stayed long even at 9pm. Couldn't see a viable alternative to EE rope drop + genie plus to get all the big rides "done" except perhaps if you had extended evening hours, but that would not have worked with our kids. Number of beignets consumed during our stay: 12

2024.05.12 20:22 Joshh170 Helldivers 2 Mod Adding Star Wars Content to the Game

Helldivers 2 Mod Adding Star Wars Content to the Game
A new Helldivers 2 mod is set to bring Star Wars characters, including the 501st Legion leaders and a few different types of Droids, into the popular action game. The mod is intended to offer Helldivers 2 players a way to live out the Clone Wars in the PlayStation first-party game.
After rolling out to immense success earlier this year, Helldivers 2 was recently struck with controversy when publisher Sony announced a mandatory PSN account linking update. While the highly negative feedback from the community eventually forced the Japan-based company to cancel those plans, the players are still reeling from its effect with the game delisted in several countries. Amid all this, a promising new mod for Helldivers 2, which adds renowned sci-fi franchise Star Wars to the mix, is quickly gaining traction.
In a Twitter post, YouTuber ToastedShoes revealed a new mod that gives Helldivers 2 a Star Wars-themed makeover in certain aspects, such as playable characters and in-game enemies. As stated in the video, the mod aims to enable players to "live out the Clone Wars in video game form." It brings playable Star Wars characters, such as Captain Rex, Commander Cody, and Hunter, alongside foes, including B1 droids, B2 droids, and Droidekas, to the online co-op game. In addition, ToastedShoes also uploaded a nearly 25-minute long video showing the Star Wars mod for Helldivers 2 in action.
Star Wars Mod Coming to Helldivers 2
According to ToastedShoes, their team still has work to do on the Star Wars mod and, hence, it isn't currently available for the public to download. The video of the mod only shows some Star Wars-themed skins, with many other items, such as Helldivers 2 weapons, understandably sticking to their default look. However, given that the mod is still in development, there may be chances of more Star Wars stuff being added as the days progress.
The announcement of the Helldivers 2 mod has been rising in popularity and has attracted the interest of players. In the comments on Twitter, users commended the promising look of the mod, calling it "insane" and "absolutely stunning." Other users expressed what they wanted the modding team to add further, with a relatively popular request being to incorporate "lasers." As fans wait for the Helldivers 2 mod to release, they can get their Star Wars fix in another popular online shooter, Fortnite, which recently received Star Wars-related content on the occasion of May the 4th.

Two Recent Puzzle Hauls...a photo essay. (Includes my 27 library book sale puzzle acquisitions.)
I don't usually post the everyday puzzles that I acquire...you know, a small Amazon purchase here or a Facebook Market Place find there, but since I enjoy browsing what other people are acquiring in their puzzle haul posts, I felt like maybe others might like to hear about some of the puzzles that I recently added to my ever burgeoning collection.
I will begin by sharing a bit about the new puzzles that I ordered from Amazon on their May the 4th Star Wars sale. After completing the Ravensburger Gelini Challenge, I felt empowered to take on another challenge puzzle at some point. Since Amazon had a great deal, The Mandalorian ($10.99) looks like it will be my next foe! I also couldn't pass up the deals on two other Star Wars puzzles, both from Buffalo. The four-pack (Manufactured in China) was just $7.99 and the Comic Book Collage (Manufactured in USA) was $5.99. I enjoy puzzling comic art, so this last one is a puzzle that I'm really looking forward to.
Amazon haul
I realize the vibrantly-coloured Buffalo Aimee Stewart puzzle seems oddly out of place in this collection. I'm sure we have all had that one puzzle that accidentally fell into our Amazon carts at one point or another. Perhaps you needed a few more dollars to get free shipping. You could have added something practical, like a tube of toothpaste, to bring your total up, but then you make the only correct choice there is and add a puzzle instead. Look at it as an investment in your well-being. My "oops!" puzzle was an easy decision to make. After having had such a wonderful time with "Cookies and Cocoa," (I think it was one of my favourite puzzles of the past year!), I just had to get "Tea and Cookies" as well. I anticipate it being equally as enjoyable, and this time, I will do my best to get a photo of it before I dump it all over the floor!
The second part of my haul comes via our town library's spring book sale.
You may remember awhile back when I was given a sneak peek at the puzzles that had accumulated for the book sale. While the pile looked like a lot, I was a little worried that there wouldn't be any good puzzles left by the time the actual sale rolled around, as the Friends of the Library had been carrying some puzzles upstairs to sell ahead of time in one of their pop-up sales.
The puzzle stacks from two months ago
Well, all of that worrying was for nothing, as that was then and this is now! A friend again gave me a sneak peek, just before the sale was set up, and this is what was available to go out on the sale tables. It is a different collection in some respects, but still plenty of puzzles to go around. There is a real treasure lurking in there, which I did not notice AT ALL when I took the photo. See if you can spot it! 👀 (Hint: The answer will be revealed in Group 5 below.)
Puzzle stacks right before being set out for the sale.
My son was volunteering, so I also got to snap a quick photo of the puzzles once they were all placed on tables in anticipation of the Friday/Saturday sale.
Puzzle tables nearly ready for sale.
And now, here we are! The moment you have all been waiting for! The library book sale.
When I attend a book sale like this, I feel both anticipation and dread. I am excited by all of the new puzzle possibilities, but the reality is that I get very overwhelmed when faced with a lot of options in a rush situation. My brain can no longer seem to focus on or process items, so my instincts are to either grab everything I see or nothing at all.
I was feeling particularly anxious when presented with this precarious plethora of puzzles (too much??? 😀), so I used one of my lifelines and cold-called a puzzle-loving friend of mine. We eventually switched to video so that she could help me make my selections. It was a whole lot of me holding a puzzle up to the camera, waiting for a response and then quickly moving on to the next box, while using a flaky internet connection. This person quite literally saved me from making some poor puzzle choices (though I am stubborn and still brought home a few of those) and pointed out some great ones to me as well. She shrieked with me over the wonderful finds and at times questioned my insistence on picking up others. I owe her big time! I should likely give her first pick from the selections we made together. In the end, I came home with 29 puzzles for my collection.
The puzzles you are about to see are not grouped in any particular order. I am simply posting them as they came off my camera roll. Everything was priced at $1 per puzzle.
Group 1
  • Eboo "Swedish Fishing Village." I have never done an Eboo before, can you believe it? Not likely my first choice of images, but it will do.
  • Springbok "It's a Tie!" Only the second round puzzle in my entire collection--both Springboks. Date on the box says 2020 so I'm wondering what I might inadvertently release when I open the lid.
  • White box "Lion Wooden Puzzle." I didn't even show this puzzle to my friend because I would have been able to hear her eyes roll back in her head at my selection. The box was totally crushed. I KNOW it's a "nothing" brand. I should have likely just put it back, but I opened the box and the pieces seemed decently made with some whimsies peeking back at me, so I brought it home for $1. It doesn't have a title, location of manufacture, bar code, piece count, warnings about tiny pieces, or any other identifying features, but it does have a difficulty level of 6A Challenger, whatever that means. I say, "Challenge accepted!"
  • Springbok Majestic "Lakeside." Not my typical choice for subjects, but a 500-piece wooden Springbok? I'm game to try that once!
  • Galison "Joy LaForme Winter Lights 12 Days of Puzzles." I was a little bit torn over this selection, both literally and figuratively. I absolutely love the puzzle images on these. The previous owner had carefully bagged up each puzzle individually, BUT the perforated doors that needed to be opened each day to access the puzzle were shredded. That was not enough to deter me from giving these puzzles a try this upcoming December. This is another selection where I sensed I would have been hit with a heavy eye roll, so I just snuck them into my bag unannounced.
Group 2
  • White Mountain "I Love New England." When I held this puzzle up, my friend told me I HAD to get it! It's New England!
  • Cobble Hill "Mid Mod Season's Greetings." I love Christmas and this just seemed like a great composition to puzzle.
  • Ravensburger "Bizarre Bookshop." I have done one other Colin Thompson puzzle, but it was a "cupboard" puzzle, not a "shop" puzzle.
  • Laurence King "The World of Shakespeare." The copy of "Jane Austen" that I completed was one that was not published in the Netherlands. I would like to give this one a try to see how the two puzzles compare. My friend told me to expect this one to be "intricate."
Group 3
  • Ravensburger "The Craft Cupboard." I previously completed "The Gardener's Cupboard" as A Review in Two Voices alongside u/NoDistrict8179. I loved the little details in that one and I'm not even a gardener, so imagine my excitement when the theme is now colourful crafts!
  • Castorland "Afternoon Tea." I haven't had the opportunity to puzzle a Castorland from Poland yet. I had previously seen this puzzle listed on our town's Facebook page where people can give away puzzles, books, or games they no longer want. I am assuming this may be the same puzzle making the rounds. The original poster commented something along the lines of " Yes, the snow-covered glass is as big a pain in the posterior as you think it will be." (paraphrased) Now I'm a little concerned.
Group 4
  • Buffalo Games "Lars Stewart Swiss Train Ride." I'm not entirely sure why I brought this home??? I have a feeling that I was just like, "Oooh! Colourful Buffalo!" and added it to my pile. I highly doubt I will end up doing this one and think that I will pass it along to someone else.
  • Re-Marks "Vintage Signs." Another brand that I have yet to try. The colours looked bright and it seemed like it would be an easier puzzle to complete.
  • Ceaco "Marjolein Bastin." These watercolour images always remind me of my mom, who had at least a couple of these images framed on her walls. I'm not a big Ceaco fan, but I think I can get through 300 pieces for this colourful, nostalgic puzzle.
  • Buffalo Games "Pine Sanctuary." Not my typical puzzle choice, but the image called to me. At 1000-pieces, I would have left this behind, but at 500-pieces, I am happy to bring it home so we can discuss why it captures my attention so.
  • Colorcraft "Cat on the Shelf." Ever since I found out that Colorcraft is no longer producing puzzles, I have been looking for some of the more eye-catching images to collect. My helpful puzzle friend said, "Do you really like that image???" and I replied, "Yes! Black cat! That's all I need to see." (We don't always have the same taste in puzzles and I tend to buy puzzles now and make decisions about whether I will really puzzle them later.)
  • Ravensburger "Cozy Cabin." Another puzzle that I'm sort of on the fence about image-wise, but will definitely puzzle some day when I am desperate. I have other images that I am more excited about, but I enjoy a good Ravensburger from time to time due to their familiarity and consistency.
Group 5
  • Wentworth "Village Sledging." This is it. This is the moment that I gave an audible gasp, which my puzzle friend mirrored with a gasp of her own the second she saw what I was holding. This moment right here is why I called her. Everyone should have a puzzle partner who understands the excitement of finding a Wentworth or any other "white whale" puzzle and is just as thrilled for you as if they had found it themselves. I never thought that I would see a puzzle like this show up in our small town library.
Group 6
  • Springbok "Six String Symphony." Just look at this behemoth! I have never seen or held a 2000-piece Springbok before and I was shocked at how much this thing weighed when I picked it up. (3 pounds 7.5 ounces for those who are wondering!) The box is 14"x14" and 2-inches deep! I don't do many puzzles over 1000-pieces, but this one will definitely hit the table at some point. Such a fabulous illustration.
Group 7
I hope you have had some time to get over the excitement of the Wentworth, because this is where things started getting exciting for me again, as I came across a handful of Wysocki images. I think that Young Patriots is going to be a real favourite!
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Americana Collection: Waterfall Valley."
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Proud Lil' Angler." Newer and just 300 large pieces, but still fun for a quick puzzling session.
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Americana Collection: Young Patriots."
  • Buffalo Games "Prairie Wind Flowers."
Group 8
  • Mattel "Jane Wooster Scott Boise River Festival." This is just a really fun image. I have admired puzzles by this artist when other people have posted them, but this is the first time I have actually had one of my own to do.
  • Milton Bradley "Charles Wysocki Pumpkin Hollow." Those rows of pumpkins look fun to puzzle, don't they?
Group 9
  • Relish "Lakeside Vacation." This 63-piece puzzle is promoted as a dementia jigsaw. When I first flipped the box lid open, I was impressed with the thickness of the pieces and the fact that the puzzle can be built right in the box if someone really wanted to. What I was most excited about using it for though, was a game of puzzle chess, where instead of starting with the border done, like you would for a larger puzzle, you simply start and build from one random piece (giving each person an equal number of turns). I like this smaller size for playing with kids and was hoping to find a couple of puzzles that might work for this activity.
  • Buffalo Games "Droids." After helping to write the Buffalo Games Star Wars Puzzle list, you would think that I would have had enough of this kind of puzzle, but I couldn't pass up owning the three cutest droids in the galaxy!
Group 10
A couple of late contenders here. I didn't pick them up on my first pass, but when I went back to the table later and they were still there, I decided to bring them home.
  • Ceaco "A Profusion of Posies" + some kind of mystery puzzle. I lifted the lid off the box to see what the puzzle was like, since the box said, "Corkboard Silhouette." When I did that, I saw the cork-backed pieces, but there was another puzzle in a zip top bag in there as well. Now I'm super curious exactly what that one might be. It doesn't look like more than 200 pieces or so, so I think it should be easy to assemble if everything is there.
  • Ravensburger "Skandinavische Idylle Scandinavian." I originally passed this over because I am just not a landscape-type of puzzler. However, seeing this image get passed over by a number of people, I finally went back and picked it up. It's hard for me to refuse the Siren's call of a 500-piece Ravensburger, no matter what the subject matter is.
I'm sure that after all of this puzzle talk, many of you are wondering if I purchased any, you know, actual books at the BOOK sale. Why, how lovely of you to ask! Yes, I did happen to pick up a few bits to keep me entertained in the off chance that I'm not puzzling. Maybe you can figure out one of the other hobbies I enjoy from this selection.
Actual books that I purchased from the sale. (The book that doesn't have a title on the cover is The Flavor Bible.)
That's it. I'm at the bottom of my puzzle haul bag!
Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Thanks for reading!

2024.05.10 21:06 Realistic-Ambition49 MedTimer - Medication reminder with focus on privacy

Source code: https://github.com/Futsch1/medTimer
I have built a fully FOSS medication reminder app (MIT license) based on Material 3 theming targeting Android 13 and above. It was first released some time ago but has now reached a level of maturity and features so that I feel good about sharing it.
It offers an unlimited number of medicines to be configured and an unlimited number of reminders for each. Set up reminders in various ways from simple "once a day at a certain time" to cyclic setup where the medication is taken for several days in a row with several days of pause afterwards (useful for birth control pills). You can also assign colors to medicines.
Reminders are shown as notifications, which can be dismissed (skipping the dose), snoozed (to be reminded in a configurable interval) or marked as taken. Dosing events will be logged and can be exported as CSV, PDF or JSON. Furthermore, they can be viewed in a sortable and filterable table in the app.
The app does not require internet permissions and the data is stored only on the device (but can be exported and imported for backup).
Further notable features are logging manual doses, a weekend mode where notifications get delayed until a certain time, two dark and two light themes to choose from and a statistics view. You can also edit reminder events (e.g. to change dosing amounts if they are variable) and mark a medicine taken or skipped even before it is due.
It is available on F-Droid and IzzyOnDroid
Feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Chritmas (Gothic Christmas)

Merry Chritmas (Gothic Element)

https://preview.redd.it/titibt5u5lzc1.png?width=2912&format=png&auto=webp&s=1c6141921d722830d496ad7865eabb895a15e8ee
Chritmas offers a fascinating blend of gothic and spooky elements with traditional Christmas and Yule traditions, centered around "Chrit Ghost," the gift-giving ghost. Here's an extended concept incorporating these themes:
  1. Chrit Ghost:
    • Chrit Ghost is a spectral figure cloaked in midnight black, with glowing eyes with moose skull and a hauntingly kind demeanor.
    • Instead of Santa Claus, Chrit Ghost is the benevolent spirit who visits homes on Chritmas Eve, leaving mysterious gifts under shadowy Chritmas trees.
  2. Decorations:
    • Gothic-inspired decorations adorn Chritmas trees, with dark ornaments like miniature coffins, black roses, and silver spiderwebs.
    • Candles flicker in eerie candelabras, casting dim, flickering light reminiscent of old haunted mansions.
    • Wreaths made of dried black roses and thorny branches hang on doors, adding a touch of macabre elegance.
  3. Feast of Shadows:
    • The Chritmas feast, known as the Feast of Shadows, features dark delicacies like blood-red velvet cake, roasted black garlic potatoes, and mulled wine with a hint of cloves and cinnamon.
    • Tables are draped in midnight blue and adorned with candelabras, skull-shaped goblets, and tarnished silverware.
  4. Chritmas Carols:
    • Carols take on a haunting tone, with lyrics that weave tales of ghosts, witches, and ancient mysteries. Songs like "O Come, All Ye Spirits" and "The Haunted Bells of Chritmas" set the mood.
    • Musicians play eerie melodies on violins, harpsichords, and haunting flutes, adding to the spectral ambiance.
  5. Chritmas Eve Rituals:
    • Families gather around a crackling fireplace to tell ghost stories, sharing tales of apparitions, restless spirits, and mysterious happenings.
    • Children leave offerings of dark chocolates and dried fruits for Chrit Ghost, hoping to receive ethereal gifts in return.
  6. Gifts from the Otherworld:
    • Chrit Ghost leaves gifts that reflect the gothic and mystical themes of Chritmas, such as antique pocket watches, spellbooks filled with secrets, and enchanted crystals.
    • Handcrafted items like gothic jewelry, leather-bound journals, and ornate masks hold special meaning in this ethereal exchange.
  7. Yule Traditions:
    • Yule celebrations intertwine with Chritmas, incorporating ancient pagan customs such as burning Yule logs, decorating with holly and mistletoe, and honoring the rebirth of the sun.
    • The Chritmas tree becomes a symbol of life and renewal, adorned with symbols of nature, magic, and the cycle of seasons.
  8. Spirit of Chritmas:
    • Chritmas embraces the beauty of darkness and light, blending gothic aesthetics with the warmth of togetherness, generosity, and the joy of sharing stories and traditions.
    • It's a time to honor the mysteries of the night, the spirits of the past, and the magic that surrounds us in both the seen and unseen realms.
Chritmas, with its Gothic and spooky twist on traditional Chritmas and Yule customs, invites us to embrace the enchanting shadows and mysteries that lie beyond the veil, celebrating the beauty of the unknown and the timeless spirit of giving and connection.

Chritmas Cake (Traditonal Cake)

Creating a Chritmas Cake with a black cranberry theme sounds intriguing! Here's a recipe for a delicious Black Cranberry Cake that combines the rich flavors of dark ingredients with the festive touch of cranberries:
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Prepare the Fruit Mixture:
    • In a separate bowl, place the blackberries and dried cranberries. Pour the boiling water over the berries and let them soak for about 10 minutes. Drain the berries and set aside.
  4. Make the Cake Batter:
    • In the bowl of a stand mixer or using a hand mixer, beat the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a smooth batter forms.
    • Fold in the soaked blackberries and cranberries into the batter gently until evenly distributed.
  5. Bake the Cake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
    • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Decorate (Optional):
    • Once the cake has cooled, you can dust the top with powdered sugar for a snowy effect, adding a festive touch to your Chritmas cake.
Slice and serve your delicious Black Cranberry Chritmas Cake as a delightful dessert for your Chritmas celebrations. The combination of dark flavors and tangy cranberries is sure to be a hit!

Cobweb Tree Topper (DIY)

A Cobweb Tree Topper for Chritmas adds a spooky and gothic touch to your holiday decor. Here's how you can make one:
Materials Needed:
  1. Black or dark-colored wire
  2. Black feathers or faux spider webs
  3. Small plastic spiders or spider ornaments
  4. Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  5. Black spray paint (optional)
  6. Wire cutters
  7. Ribbon or string for hanging (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Create the Base:
    • Using the wire, shape a cone or pyramid structure to serve as the base of your cobweb tree topper. You can start with a smaller cone and gradually widen it as you go up.
    • Secure the wire pieces together using hot glue to form a sturdy base.
  2. Add the Cobweb Design:
    • Take the black feathers or faux spider webs and drape them over the wire structure. You can create a cobweb-like pattern by crisscrossing the feathers or webs in a random, intricate manner.
    • Secure the feathers or webs in place with hot glue as needed to ensure they stay attached to the wire base.
  3. Enhance with Spiders:
    • Attach small plastic spiders or spider ornaments to the cobweb design using hot glue. Place them strategically to create a creepy, crawling effect on the cobweb tree topper.
    • You can also add some larger spiders crawling down the sides of the wire structure for a more dramatic look.
  4. Optional Spray Paint:
    • If desired, you can spray paint the entire cobweb tree topper with black paint to give it a darker, more uniform appearance. Allow the paint to dry completely before proceeding.
  5. Attach Hanging Mechanism (Optional):
    • If you want to hang the cobweb tree topper from the tree, attach a ribbon or string to the top of the wire structure using hot glue. Make sure it's securely attached and can support the weight of the topper.
  6. Place on Top of the Tree:
    • Once your cobweb tree topper is complete and any paint or glue has dried, carefully place it on top of your Chritmas tree. Ensure it's balanced and securely attached to the tree's tip.
Your Cobweb Tree Topper for Chritmas is now ready to add a touch of gothic elegance and spooky charm to your holiday decorations. It's sure to stand out and create a unique focal point for your Chritmas festivities.

2024.05.06 16:17 Zuke_McKenzie Inside the Suit.

A small "TV" buzzed in the off world diner, "Chaos today as anti-human protests ramps up ahead of the Federation's vote to finally decide the Untied Human Alliance's admission, later this month..." Gav took a deep breath in, begging to get a whiff of the coffee that Taril'k had just put down in front of him. "Not thirsty today love?" Taril'k had asked on their way back down the counter. "Nah it's not that, think I'm getting an electrical arc through the inlet port, it's making everything taste like copper; I'll have to have it once I get a maintenance 'clean room' later tonight." The waiter just gave a small frown and a hand movement to symbolise the patting of another's back before carrying on with their work.
The "TV" flicked up a series of humans in sleek mirrored enviro suits addressing a press conference, then an incident where protesters had busted the seal on the suit of a human delivery worker, the crowd breaking out in a stampede trying to get away as the tell tale hiss of air being expelled out of a broken seal played. Taril'k broke me out of daydream/doomscroll, "Seen Craig around? He's usually in and out by the time you waddle in". Gav brought the cup upto his almost out of habit. "He's in the slammer, way he tells it a couple of drunk Derbmlem's kept pushing him around thinking he was some kind of service droid. Turned a bit hostile once a metal backhand cracked a jaw in two." "Lordy!" Taril'k exclaimed, "You don't think that he'll be put away for 'threat of breach' will you?" "Fat fucking chance!" Gav burst out. "CTG has the most redundancies, underlayers and up armouring of any human on this colony, SPECIFICALLY so he can wipe some faces clean if they give him some lip." The waiter noticeably took a step back at this mention of human violence. "Anyways, I hope he doesn't get unjustly booked". Gav had put his cup down again by now. "Doubt he'll be booked at all, such a minor scuffle, and besides... With all of our maintenance and upkeep and whatnot, it's not worth the contamination risk of having a human in lock up. Better to just slap us on the wrist and let our authorities deal with us."
(I'll have to stop here for tonight as I'm getting sleepy. If anyone wants to join in the theme is" Humans need to wear environmental suits to stop their bio-weapon like immune cells from infecting and killing other alien life")
