2024.05.21 22:09 toolshome Where to watch movie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire for free
After years of waiting, the highly anticipated Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire finally hit streaming services last week. As a huge fan of the previous Monster-Verse movies like Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, I had sky-high expectations - and I'm thrilled to report that the film exceeded every one of them. If you're wondering where to watch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire online or how to watch it for free, read on!
From the opening scene, it's clear this is a Monster-Verse movie like no other. We're thrown right into the action as Godzilla and Kong engage in a city-leveling battle royale that makes their previous clash in Godzilla vs Kong look like a schoolyard tussle. The visual effects team truly outdid themselves, bringing a visceral realism to the kaiju combat that makes you feel every thunderous blow.
But the movie is about far more than just monster mayhem. At its core is a richly developed plot that expands the Monster-Verse mythology in shocking and rewarding ways. We discover that Godzilla and Kong's rivalry is but a small part of an ages-old conflict between the Titans and a technologically-advanced human civilization bent on controlling them. Protagonists from past films return in critical roles, their actions having unpredictable and far-reaching consequences.
The human characters are also given much more depth and nuance here compared to previous Monster-Verse entries. Particular standouts are Dr. Serizawa's son (played by John Boyega in a star-making turn), who is trying to prevent an all-out war between humans and Titans, and Ilene Andrews' daughter (Tessa Thompson), now the head of Monarch and caught between the factions. Their personal journeys carry real emotional weight and provide the perfect counterbalance to the spectacular monster battles.
Speaking of which, every action set piece in The New Empire delivers in spades. From Kong using a tank as a baseball bat to Godzilla taking on multiple Titans in Rome, each feels like a mini-movie in itself, crammed with holy $%*# moments and jaw-dropping visual brilliance. The finale, which I won't spoil here, has to be seen to be believed - an audacious, face-melting climax that took my breath away.
Ultimately, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the total package - an effects extravaganza, action masterpiece, and deep dive into the Monster-Verse all rolled into one. It not only lives up to the groundwork laid by previous films but expands on it in thrilling, unpredictable ways, leaving me desperate to revisit this world again. If you haven't streamed it yet, do yourself a favor and watch it immediately with that ultra-crisp 4K upgrade - this is a cinematic experience meant to be seen on the biggest screen possible. Just be prepared to pick your jaw up off the floor when it's over. You can watch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire online on streaming services like HBO Max, or try to find ways to watch it for free on certain websites.

2024.05.21 22:08 New_to_Warwick Subreddit Rules and Etiquette; Come discuss about them so we have the most fair and justifiable rules on Reddit!
Hi!
I've been granted control of this subreddit and hope to make it a place where players from Infection Free Zone can come and share their gameplay, promote their stream and discords, talk about the game, learn about updates, tutorial, etc.
I wish for the community to grow with love, appreciation for the content and respect for each others.
To reach that goal, I've made this post to discuss with everyone interested, the rules and etiquette this subreddit should enforce.
I always thought that Moderators, from Reddit or Discord for example, were often lacking impartiality, devotion to the community and were too often abusing their powers to censors or spread their own opinions.
I want to ensure this community will not be moderated by such moderators, but will be moderated by impartial and respectful people, abiding by simple rules based around common sense.
Please, comment on this post with rules you think we should have publicly visible and enforce.
Thank you!

2024.05.21 22:05 totalcollapser Fassbinder Thousands of Mirrors
(Penman, author of Fassbinder Thousands of Mirrors, was a contemporary of Fisher's and that whole network of blogs in the '90s. Acc to a recent LRB review, Penman is the first to apply Derrida's concept of hauntology to contemporary popular culture, which I thought was interesting since Fisher is typically credited with that) Some excerpts - It's called shooting, but rather than expelling any kind of projectile, this little box sucks in all the world, its surfaces and contents, into its ravenous, mystifying interior.
- Fassbinder's early films take place in a world where people either work themselves to death or find themselves in a permanent loose end; are way too busy or have all the time in the world; have too many emotions to process or absolutely nothing to feel and nothing to say. They keep themselves doing the least amount possible. They are both overstimulated and dolefully resigned.
These blank-faced groups of friends, family members, petty criminals, drinkers and idlers obey a choreography not of the damned but the debilitated. Saturated with lassitude and stifled want. Standing around not knowing what to do or say or who to hurt next. Boredom is the crucial factor here. In the face of so much 'free time' and so many 'lifestyle 'choices' one logical response is a kind of unfeeling blankness: anhedonia, existential wilting, mute withdrawal. Sudden bursts into hysterical violence. Something has torn open the social fabric, has frayed or distressed the relationship between social space, memory and experience; one consequence of this is that nobody much cares to investigate what that cause might be. It could almost be the end-result of one big successful psy-op: people who got everything they thought they ever wanted but only feel worse for it.
- Nature is absent, by and large, from this world. No one is impatient to go back into that dark Germanic wood. Beneath the model town... unspeakable traces, tainted soil, spoiled dreams. Nowhere do we detect any hint of the utopian prospect of beneath the paving stones the beach.
- Bright gaudy colours of the new consumer landscape: somewhere between Pontormo and a Christmas shop window. His films reproduce the asethetic of being right on the edge of not very tasteful at all. The huge Poussin mural in Petra Von Kant. Art as easy listening decor. Inner states made exterior in a wilderness of mirrors.
- Fear Eats the Soul: a series of precise framings of people on thresholds. People framed by doorways or mirrors or windows, like figures in a painting. Astonishing colours, but also a necessary degree of distancing. It can feel at times as if we are intimately familiar with these interiors. This does not look like a movie-set room. It looks like a room you may have been in yourself, many times.

2024.05.21 22:03 Mysterious_Sea7839 Help! My Chin Keeps Overheating!
I have a two year old chinchilla who recently overheated back during the winter. We live in the south US so our winters rarely get below 50 degrees during the day and can dip down to the 30s at night. It is also punctuated by days where it routinely gets into the 70s even in January/February. It was during one of these odd days that it got in the 70s that my Beau overheated from running around too much. Once we realized what was wrong I made sure he got on his chill rock and had the AC going wide open and fans circulating the cool air. He recovered in a few hours and seemed to be fine.
Unfortunately, it is now full blown summertime and is already getting up into the upper 90s. We keep the room with our chins in the upper 60s during the summer. Yesterday Beau got too hot again even though he had only been out about 20 minutes.
Here's my dilemma. My boys are used to getting out of their pen for playtime every day, usually for 30 minutes to an hour. I've read that you should limit their playtime during summer months, especially if you live in a hotter area. I am loathe to do this because I feel like it's cruel to keep them locked in their cages for 6 months out of the year. Does anyone have any ideas or words of advice on what I can do to keep these guys cool? I already have the largest AC I can buy in the room. It goes non-stop during the summer but rarely gets cooler than about 65 degrees. I have blackout curtains on the windows and two fans going 24/7. They have chill rocks in their cages and scattered around the room. I can't move them into a more confined space to limit their mobility during their out-of-cage playtime.
At this point, as much as I hate it, I'm seriously considering not letting them out of their cages until it cools off sometime in December. Beau apparently doesn't have enough of a survival mode to know when to stop running and cool off until it's pretty much too late. I'm terrified he's going to die on me. I'm struggling with feeling bad for keeping them locked up in their cages without getting out, and not wanting to risk something happening to them.
Anyone have any suggestions?
(for the record, they both have their own cage and it's one of the large double-decker Critter Nation cages that are 5 feet tall, so they actually have plenty of play room in their houses. But since they are used to free range playtime every day, I feel like I'm being cruel to them if I make them stay in their cages for weeks on end without getting out to run around for a bit).

2024.05.21 22:00 MadMedic21 Another Comprehensive Guide From a Caregiver and ACLr Recipient
Hi all! First off, so glad this sub reddit exists because it was a life saver when I was making decisions on my own ACLr and knowing what to expect from surgery. I'm a 2x cancer surviver, Paramedic, Rugby player, and now have been a caregiver to my partner who just celebrated 3 months from her own ACLr. I collected a bunch of advice and tips and tricks that I have used both during cancer treatment, my own experience with ACLr, and now through care taking my partner through hers. I know there have been guides before, but mine is a bit different and aimed at caregivers so I thought I'd post it here since ya'll helped me so much instead of it just circulating the rugby community every time a teammate or friend has to have ACLr or some other reconstruction. Hope it's allowed and helps!
A Cancer Patients Guide To Knee Reconstruction Recovery
A Comprehensive Guide To Surviving and Thriving In the Pre and Post-op Period Built From The Perspective of Caretaker and Patient.
Before The Date
__/__/____
Preparation
It is important to adequately prepare for surgery in the weeks and days leading up to the procedure. A significant period of immobility and reliance on support can be expected immediately post-op and will vary by procedure and personal experience. Physical modification of living space and thorough preparation allows for the immediate post-op period to be free of emergency store runs and the small inconveniences that can add up to big frustration. Not having food and drink nearby as well as other essentials may be a small deal now, but can turn into a big deal when you can no longer get those things for yourself. While physical preparation (home modifications, adaptive tools, meal prepping, etc.) are important, mental preparation is crucial to the long term success of the repair. Making small, achievable goals in the immediate post-op period and maintaining a long sighted view of recovery will make the pain and immobility that is initially experienced more bearable. Additionally, social support through a partner, family members, or friends is an essential part of recovery, as is maintaining contact with sports teams or other social groups during rehabilitation.
General PEARLs
- Pre-surgical rehab is an essential part of recovery and can improve immediate outcome so if it is a resource available to you- use it!
- Learn the basics of your procedure such as reconstruction technique, graft type, surgeons recovery timeline, where you will do your rehab, and what you should expect going into and coming out of surgery. Knowledge is power and can give a sense of control and set reasonable expectations in a situation that is otherwise out of your control.
- Seek out positive experiences and recovery stories from other people who have had your procedure and gather as much advice as possible from resources such as ACL. Know that some people will have negative experiences, everyone is an individual, and that much of your long term recovery is in your control.
- Expect and learn to advocate for yourself or the person you are taking care of. Be vocal and honest with any needs you may have and understand that issues may come up in the immediate post-operative time that you as a patient or caregiver may have to contact your surgeon to resolve. Familiarize yourself with who to call and when *before* you leave after surgery, as well as being quick to call with any questions or problems that arise. It is better to be told that what you are experiencing is normal than to sit with the anxiety of the unknown.
- Create a folder with all relevant information: Surgeons name, procedure information, follow-up appointment dates and times, phone numbers, emergency contacts, facility of choice in an emergency situation, and any other important information. Maintain this folder throughout your recovery and add paperwork as it comes.
Days Leading Up To Surgery
- Contact support people and confirm any arrangements that have been made including but not limited to: Who is taking you to/from surgery, child or pet care, transportation to first PT appointments, meals, etc.
- Recommended Items we found essential:
- Ice Machine (Polarcube, etc) if at all possible
- Recommend checking facebook marketplace or other second hand options, as they cost hundreds new but can be found for $40 or so used.
- Studies have shown these do actually reduce pain and lend to earlier mobilisation and our experience has shown this to be essential not just immediately post-op but in the weeks and months afterwards so if you *can* obtain one you absolutely should.
- Large sweatshirt and oversized shorts for surgery day, especially if you wear a bra, as putting clothes on after surgery can be a struggle and itâs easiest to just throw on a sweatshirt and shorts that fit over your post-op bandages and brace.
- In particular, we found a blanket hoodie to be very useful both for going home and the first few days as it could stay on when moving around/when napping.
- Neck Pillow
- Helps with reading or other activities during long hours spent in bed or on the couch and really helped in the first two days to prevent neck strain and provide head positioning during napping.
- Large pillows for body positioning and elevation of the leg
- We found cheap, giant, dog beds from places like TJ Max or Marshalls to be more affordable than specialty products
- A large, thin, dog bed (or blanket) rolled into a tube and secured with stretch bandage or tape around the surgical leg and brace helped significantly with comfort during sleep so that the leg was padded, comfortable, and the other leg didnât get roughed up from the brace.
- A shower chair
- Can be found used at second hand stores like Goodwill, or cheap online
- Easy substitute is a chair covered in a trash bag
- Allowed showering the second day post-op which was a huge mental boost and relieved physical discomfort and achy muscles
- Extra large leg cast cover
- Can be found cheap online
- Placed around outside of brace covering the entire leg initially, we then found it easier to place on the leg and place the brace outside of the cover for the remaining healing period for the incisions: We did this after the first PT appointment when it was safe to take off the brace for short periods while laying down. We acquired a second post op brace from a friend (you can find on eBay for cheap) and it was amazing to have, as we could let it dry after showering and immediately put her post op brace back on.
- Foldable stool
- Great for elevating the leg during transfers, while on the toilet, etc.
- Lap Desk
- Great for eating on the couch or in bed, but we also found it useful as a side table for holding drinks/meds/remotes/books that could be taken to whatever room they landed in at the time
- A small table works as well, really just anything that can be used to set things on within arms reach
- Assortment of sodas, water, seltzers, snacks, etc.
- There is no way to know what you will want and when, but when you want it itâs nice to *have* it available
- Appetite often decreases after surgery so make sure to have favourites on hand so that when you *are* hungry you have it immediately before your body changes its mind
- A big bucket
- We used a soft plastic beach type bucket from the dollar store, it was extremely useful to have to put small items in, a small towel, a spare water bottle, extra meds, baby wipes, etc.
- Also doubled as an emergency puke bucket, as you never know when a sudden bout of nausea might hit in the first day or two after surgery
- Extra reusable ice packs and bags of ice
- Your home ice maker will not be able to keep up with the demands of constant icing the first week or so
- Reusable ones are great for âhot spotsâ and short trips where you canât take the ice machine
- Extra steri-strips and assortment of bandages
- Sometimes thereâs extra leakage, sometimes your steri-strips come off and you need to slap a new one on, sometimes youâre allergic to the ones they put on you at the hospital. Always consult a medical professional, but itâs handy to have these on hand just in case.
- We also used a bulky padded bandaid to keep the brace off the healing incisions once the large post-op dressing was taken off which helped immensely.
- Compression sleeves
- Aside from helping with swelling these also provided a layer of protection under the post-op brace
- We found cheap ones at Wal-Mart (copper brand) but also just bought a cheap pair of leggings a size down and cut off one of the legs to use before getting a more expensive one once swelling had fully subsided after a few weeks. Your leg will change so cheap works great at first, then you can get something a bit more substantial when you know what youâll need long term. Now she wears high compression socks to sleep 3 months out.
- Slide on shoes
- Self explanatory, bending down to put on shoes becomes a chore after surgery. Avoid flip flops or other styles that can become a trip hazard.
- Baby Wipes/Dude Wipes/etc.
- Wiping down after you get home from surgery can help prevent that icky feeling and restore some sense of normalcy, then can be used over the next few days before you can shower more normally
- Lotion and chapstick
- Hospitals dry out your skin big time, and lips are often cracked post surgery from intubation/LMA placement
- Small, easily labelled tupperware containers
- Regular pill containers are too small to hold pain meds, OTC pain meds, anticoagulants such as aspirin, supplements, and edibles or other small things you take with your medication. We got small tupperware boxes with lids from the dollar store.
- We found it very convenient to have six sets of meds set up and labelled with times which meant we never missed doses and could leave the next dose of meds at bedside, take them with us when going to appointments, and keep up with what had been given and when.
- Small notebook to record med times and other important information
- Two extra changes of clothes already setup and ready to go
- Compression device
- We are athletes so we already had leg compression sleeves but these days off brand versions can be bought online cheap. Studies have shown these lead to reduced pain, increased mobilisation, reduced the chance of blood clots, and there is even some evidence they help with bone healing.
- We used it 3 days post op and beyond and her range of motion was significantly improved after the first time.
- A yoga strap
- Excellent for strapping to the brace and moving the surgical leg
- If possible, pick up post-op medications prior to surgery to prevent any unexpected delay in obtaining them. If this is not possible, verify that the prescription can be filled the day of the surgery by your selected pharmacy and that it has been filled prior to leaving after your surgery. Controlled substances cannot be transferred to another pharmacy without a new prescription sent directly from the provider. You do not want to be trying to get in contact with a physician in the hours after surgery, unable to manage pain, before the pharmacies close for the night.
- Do a thorough clean of your living area, it will make the time after surgery when you cannot independently do normal activities more bearable and a neat organised space is easier to function in when your body is not cooperating. Take special attention to removing tripping hazards and clearing a wide path from wherever you plan to spend your recovery and the bathroom.
- Plan to spend the first couple of days in one spot and on one floor and set up that area the day before surgery. If you have a downstairs bathroom a floor mattress or well setup couch can be your landing pad until you are more mobile and is the easiest during the immediate post-op period. That being said, if you donât, itâs easier to get upstairs by sliding up on your bum immediately post-op when your pain is still well controlled than realise that you have no bathroom downstairs a few hours later when the pain has started to set in. Wherever you intend to land, plan on staying there at least a couple of days and bring all your supplies to that area. Plan to lay with your surgical leg on the outside of what you are laying on, this makes transferring easier.
- Have your recovery bed setup the day before surgery and prepared for when you return before you leave the day of, including blankets and your supply table setup.
- Meal prep, whether that means cooking or getting easy to make microwave meals is up to you. You wonât feel like cooking and neither will your caretaker the first few days. High protein, easy to eat meals are key! We had chicken and broccoli casserole, egg and sausage frittata, and lots of applesauce the first few days and it was a lifesaver not to have to think about meals.
- Spend some time mentally preparing for the long haul of recovery and make long term plans that fit within your timeline. For example, we planned to attend a rugby game five days after surgery *but* planned nothing else for that day and the next day. We also planned hiking trips the next fall, and other events appropriate for her timeline along the way that could be looked forward to and keep up morale. Remember that this is temporary and that it is okay to be recovering and resting, expect hard moments and days but keep things planned so you donât get stuck in those down places.
- Eat your favourite meal and eat well the day before surgery. Your body needs fuel to recover and fasting the day of surgery sucks. As weird as it sounds, after multiple surgeries, the pre-surgery night meal of whatever I want is one shiny thing in a crappy situation to hold on to.
- Plan for what you want your first meal to be and consider making a playlist for the ride to and from surgery. Small things, again, help maintain a sense of control and comfort in a situation where you are largely out of control and these things can be done with friends or support people in the days leading up to reduce anxiety and pass time.
- Hit the gym, take a walk, do a hike, visit places or do things you enjoy but wonât be able to do in immediate recovery! We took my partners knee to one last tournament before her surgery, it helped pass time and kept spirits high.
Day Of And Immediate Post-Surgery Phase
- Maintain fasting starting at whatever hour you are told. Some people can drink clear liquids up to a certain point, others are completely nothing by mouth. Your instructions will guide you on this.
- Before leaving home double check that everything is set up how you need it and place a blanket, pillow, drink, and snack of choice in the car. You may or may not need it but if you do it is important to have. Make sure your ice packs are in the freezer ready to go!
- Bring your own post-op snack if you are picky or have food allergies, otherwise youâre stuck with whatever graham cracker and applesauce combo the facility gives you.
- Go with the flow, or as I always say âsurrenderâ. Feel what you feel, have a cry in the car before you go in, listen to your playlist, bring your blanket or other comfort items into pre-op, tell your support person whatâs going through your mind, tell your pre-op staff how youâre doing, ask all the questions, and most importantly just do what you have to do. For some people surgery can be overwhelming and the loss of control frightening, but fighting only makes it worse, so whatever you are just be it. Iâm pre-op pacer myself, but some people just snuggle up under some warm blankets and wait. Either way, just let the waves take you where they go and know youâre along for the ride. Remember that future you with a healthy joint thanks you for what youâre doing today.
- Speak frankly with your anesthesiologist and utilise any pain control or anxiety control options given to you. There is no award for least meds taken or toughest patient of the day. If a nerve block is available, know that you can request sedation for its placement, and utilise that option if at all possible.
- Caregivers should bring something to keep them entertained and be prepared for a long period without update once surgery has started. Honour your feelings as well, it can be tough to watch someone you care about go through this! Consider having someone to act as a support person for you as well through text or phone, that way you can divert your own worries or struggles to them and away from the person having surgery while still making sure you are also taken care of.
- Make sure that pain is well controlled before leaving after surgery. You have more options there than you will at home and getting things under control once pain has become unbearable can be very difficult.
- Make sure you note when the next dose of medication is due, what medication they should be taking, and write it down.
- Double check contacts from your surgeons office and add any post op paperwork to your folder in case you need the information later.
- If your post-op meal requires picking up, or your prescription, try and do that immediately after leaving surgery even if you are not hungry yet. This is the most comfortable you will be for a while and your support person will be unable to leave for at least that day and night. I have been known to peruse the big gas station after surgery in search of snacks, my partner however simply waved to the nice people at the drive through and napped the rest of the way home before eating some hours later.
- Once you get home crash wherever you plan on spending the rest of the time. Donât have friends or family over that first day. Just go ahead and sleep through the rest of the anaesthesia and get comfortable.
- Try and keep your home cool, and consider keeping the room dim for the first few hours if not days. Sleep is precious and pain meds can make you hot, and getting hot can lead to nausea. It is better to have the home cool and the person snuggled under blankets and comfortable than be trying to cool someone down who just had surgery and got too hot and is now dizzy, nauseous, and miserable. The least stimulation for the first little while the better, and naps will happen throughout the rest of the day and over the next few days. A cool, dim place lets this happen much easier than a bright, warm place where they might be overstimulated or awakened by noise or activity.
- If allowed, try and activate the quad muscle immediately after returning home and once every few hours by having them squeeze it and feeling for contraction while in the brace. Some people will be able to begin range of motion exercises immediately and if so, make sure to do them as soon as allowed even if that means just helping them by doing gentle manual range of motion movements in the brace.
- If itâs not already on, begin continuous icing as soon as you come out of surgery either by meticulously timing the replacement of ice packs or with the ice machine. Make sure to check the ice machine, replace ice as often as needed, and keep it on *continuously* for the next few days. For us this meant I checked it at every medication dose throughout the night and added ice during that time as well. We went through frozen mini water bottles and bags of ice like crazy the first week.
- Elevate the surgical leg as high as possible, placing support under the heel and calf but not directly under the knee to promote extension and prevent more headaches with gaining range of motion later on.
- We found that icepacks directly under the knee helped tremendously with the discomfort associated with this.
- Anticipate that bathroom trips will not be fun or easy and take them extremely slow. As a caregiver allow the person to guide you on what they need and donât need your help with and avoid grabbing or moving someone unexpectedly. Standing, acclimating to being upright, and then proceeding to the bathroom is the best way to do things and rushing will only result in frustration for both of you. A rolling chair or wheelchair can be helpful, but for some people standing up and sitting down is harder than just moving on to the bathroom. Pay attention as a caregiver and know that it is possible they may need your help getting off the toilet or back from the bathroom so be close by and available should that happen. For the first few days do not lock the bathroom door in case of an emergency.
- Place chairs or things to sit on around your path to the bathroom, kitchen, etc. And consider a small backpack or using a rolling chair to carry items around the house.
- Once you know when your next dose is, set alarms for each time your doses are due. If using the med boxes this makes doing meds and keeping track very easy, as they are each labelled with a time and all we had to do was open the box and take the meds instead of finding each bottle and dosing each med individually each time. As the days went on we were able to re-label and time the boxes as needed and remove meds as needed or adapt to what was needed when sleeping or up during the day.
- For example day 1 would look like:
- First post-op doses at 4pm box: 250mg tylenol, 10mg oxycodone, 5mg edible.
- 8pm box: 250mg tylenol, 10mg oxycodone, 800mg ibuprofen, 10mg edible, 12.5mg diphenhydramine (itching and sleep), stool softener, and regular night time meds.
- Midnight box: 250mg tylenol, 5mg oxycodone, 5mg edible.
- 4AM: 250mg tylenol, 5mg oxycodone, 800mg ibuprofen, edible (if nauseas or restless).
- 8AM box (preparing to get up): 250mg tylenol, 10mg oxycodone, 5mg edible, aspirin, stool softener, normal morning meds.
- 12pm: 250mg tylenol, 10mg oxycodone, 5mg edible, 800mg ibuprofen.
- Repeated on time, reducing pain med dose as tolerable, and refilling boxes 1x a day.
- If possible do scheduled tylenol (paracetamol) and ibuprofen (or another NSAID), alternating them on the dosing schedule, and take them religiously even through the night. This also goes for additional pain medications, which you will also need to wake to take through the night if you are prescribed for at least the first night.
- Staying on schedule might mean waking up in the night, but itâs better to be awoken to take meds than to wake up in pain and spend several hours trying to get it under control. You may find you seldom need them if your nerve block is in place, or you may just not need very much at all during your recovery. It is easier to trial run this after the first day by stretching out the time between doses from 4 to 6 to 8 and then potentially off entirely, but everyone will have their preferences.
- Eat a small snack with every med dose and keep emergency meds (extra pain med doses, nausea meds, etc.) at bedside as well as the next set of meds due so they can be taken when it is time.
- We found that edibles were a great addition to pain and nausea control after surgery. There are medication options available and having at least one option for nausea is advisable for the first few days after surgery when anaesthesia and medication can really make you want to puke.
- Expect absolutely nothing in the first few days post-op. Some people will feel well enough to move around, others will not be able to do anything but get up to use the bathroom. Expecting nothing is better than expecting more and being disappointed or frustrated. I would highly suggest not making plans until your first follow up 7 or so days after surgery.
- Be obsessive about icing, meds, any PT you have been given, and keeping track of appointments. Give yourself the best start to your recovery that you can and you will thank yourself later!

2024.05.21 21:58 RedeemedWanderer Lets debate this one!
When it comes to securing your cryptocurrency, the choice of hardware wallet is crucial. While Ledger has its supporters, especially those influenced by prominent figures in the crypto world, it's important to understand why Trezor, with its open-source software, is a superior choice. Here's a detailed and persuasive explanation that addresses the key issues with Ledger and highlights the advantages of Trezor.
Transparency and Security Open-source software means that the code is publicly available for anyone to review and audit. This transparency is a cornerstone of cryptocurrency, ensuring that the software is secure and free from hidden vulnerabilities. Trezorâs software is completely open-source, which allows independent security experts to examine the code and identify any potential issues. For instance, in 2017, the open-source community quickly addressed a potential flaw in Trezorâs system, reinforcing the deviceâs security.
Trust Through Verification In the cryptocurrency space, the principle is "Don't trust, verify." Trezor embodies this principle by allowing anyone with technical expertise to verify the security of its code. This means you don't have to rely solely on the company's assurances; you can see for yourself that there are no hidden backdoors or malicious code. This level of transparency is impossible with Ledgerâs closed-source software, where users must take the company's word for its security measures.
Issues with Ledger
Lack of Transparency Ledger uses closed-source software, meaning the code is proprietary and not available for public review. This lack of transparency forces users to place a high level of trust in the company, which contradicts the decentralized and trustless ethos of cryptocurrency. Closed-source software can contain vulnerabilities or backdoors that only the developers know about, potentially putting users at risk.
Security Incidents Ledger has had several notable security incidents that highlight the risks of closed-source software. In 2020, Ledger suffered a significant data breach, exposing the personal information of over 270,000 customers. Although the breach did not directly compromise the hardware wallets, it raised serious concerns about Ledgerâs overall security practices.
Furthermore, in 2018, a security researcher discovered a vulnerability in Ledgerâs hardware wallet that could allow an attacker to install malware. Due to the closed-source nature of the software, it took Ledger several months to release a firmware update to fix the issue. During this time, users were potentially exposed to risk.
Potential for Data Release Ledger, as a closed-source company, can be compelled by legal authorities to release user data if subpoenaed. This means that in certain circumstances, your personal information and transaction history could be handed over to government agencies. Trezor, on the other hand, operates on an open-source model and is committed to user privacy. The open-source community would resist any attempts to undermine user privacy, providing an additional layer of protection against unauthorized data release.
Why Trezor is the Better Choice!
Adherence to Decentralization Principles Trezorâs open-source philosophy is not just about transparency; it is about adhering to the core values of cryptocurrency. Decentralization and transparency are foundational principles that ensure no single entity has control over the network. Trezorâs commitment to open-source software aligns perfectly with these principles, whereas Ledgerâs closed-source approach introduces unnecessary trust in a centralized entity.
Community-Driven Security The strength of Trezor lies in its community. The open-source model means that developers and security experts around the world can contribute to its security and functionality. This collaborative approach ensures continuous improvement and rapid responses to potential threats. Ledgerâs closed system, however, limits community contributions, potentially slowing down the identification and resolution of security issues.
True Ownership and Control By choosing Trezor, users are not just purchasing a product; they are embracing the principles of true ownership and control over their assets. The transparency and accountability of open-source software ensure that users have full control over their hardware wallets. This stands in stark contrast to Ledger, where the lack of transparency undermines the security and trust that users should be able to place in their wallet.
Conclusion While prominent figures may endorse Ledger, it's essential to look beyond endorsements and understand the fundamental differences between closed-source and open-source software. Trezorâs open-source nature provides unparalleled transparency, security, and adherence to the principles of decentralization. The issues with Ledger, including its lack of transparency, history of security incidents, and potential for data release, underscore the importance of choosing a hardware wallet that truly aligns with the ethos of cryptocurrency.
By choosing Trezor, you are not only ensuring the highest level of security for your assets but also supporting the principles of transparency and decentralization that make cryptocurrency revolutionary. Trusting in open-source systems means trusting in a community-driven approach to security and innovation, which is the foundation of a secure and trustworthy crypto ecosystem.

2024.05.21 21:57 br1nsk What is probably one of far too many reddit posts discussing thoughts on NGE and EoE as a whole.
Just finished watching EoE and want to get some thoughts out.
First and foremost, both NGE and EoE are artistically phenomenal, if there is one thing to like about Eva it is in the music and visuals. The art design, cinematography, designs, and generally the whole direction of the show is across the board pretty inspired and it's my favourite part of the experience. I feel this is a fairly universally agreed upon take, so I don't want to go into detail about it, but yeah based on pure production value there is (quite surprisingly since it's been so long) nothing like it.
Moving beyond the surface level stuff, I decided pretty early on watching NGE that the show was something I was supposed to feel (like Tenet), but not necessarily understand (at least plot wise, I think you're maybe supposed to understand it on an emotional level), and whilst watching the show I felt I was doing a good job of that (at least until the last two episodes). Now, having finished EoE, I still maintain this to be the most optimal way to try and "enjoy" Eva, however, whilst I certainly did not understand EoE, I can't say I managed to truly "feel" it either. I think I kinda felt some of what what I was supposed to feel, and towards the end I was beginning to believe that the "message" was something along the lines of it being okay for us to not truly understand each other, and that we should strive to work together and love each other despite our differences, but then by the end I wasn't sure if that was the case at all. Overall, I am thoroughly confused.
I think the main issue is that there feels like something is missing between NGE and the events of EoE. I know that EoE takes place before the last two episodes of NGE, but it feels like a pretty big departure from the show. A lot of the characters suddenly feel quite different, as if their worst traits have been magnified. The biggest culprit here is Shinji, who right from the start is established to be "the worst". Whilst Shinji in the show is certainly troubled, I don't think he is ever this bad. I've seen it argued that it makes sense for him to suddenly become the most mentally fucked up child on the planet given what he went through in the last couple eps of eva, and I mean when you list what he went through it certainly does track that he'd go a little nuts, but my problem is that we don't actually see that in the show. He seems relatively okay, not that much different than usual, and then in EoE he's suddenly gone off the deep end. I feel like there needed to be a bridge between the show and the film, one which built towards the events and character development present in EoE, and because that doesn't exist I feel that EoE retroactively becomes more confusing, making it harder to "feel" what it is trying to say because I no longer understand the characters like I felt I did before. I can't help but feel like some of this is due to the film perhaps having a higher age rating (I'm assuming here), as it is significantly more explicit than the show, which I felt was somehow also applicable to the characters also becoming more "mature" in that they were just all more fucked up.
Also, I feel like the story and characters generally don't make much sense if you TRY to understand it. I came out of it unsure about what NERV or any of the big orgs were, why and how they knew what they knew, and how they operated. It felt like every character was clued in on something that another wasn't, to the point where I'm not even sure how the organisations functioned at all. It feels like everyone's plans were largely reliant on a shit ton of luck, yet by the end of EoE certain characters act as if everything going on was the logical endgame. Lots of focus is put on the children's mental health, Misato seems to care about the kids and want them to be okay, but nobody seems to think that maybe booking these kids some mandated therapy sessions could perhaps be beneficial? I just found it difficult to fully suspend my disbelief when it felt like the entire story hinged on our main characters just getting supremely lucky at every turn.
But fuck it I don't know. I'm sure there's a youtube video explaining stuff somewhere. Overall I enjoyed NGE a lot and found it pretty engaging, and whilst I can't say I enjoyed EoE the same amount I think it was artistically a lot bolder, and in some ways felt like a purer expression of what NGE was meant to be. I'll probably watch the other films at some point since I don't feel like I got much closure from the the show and the film, and am hoping the Rebuild films (I think that's what they're called) provide me with some of that.
Feel free to explain stuff to me if you want to, no presh though.

2024.05.21 21:56 TacitusKadari The pantheon of Amaria
Context is at the end of this post __________________________________________________
In the stormy northern seas lies the island of Amaria. Under the polar lights in cold forests live the descendants of the once great Varaki, who in turn followed the mammoth herds across the steppes for countless eons. These are the gods and spirits of this land. They live in every tree, every lake, every star, deep below the ocean and beyond the polar lights in four domains.
The underworld, a place of transition between life, death and rebirth. It was made after the creation of the material to help souls find their way back to life. The spirits of this domain all take the shape of dragons with red eyes and golden patterns.
- Räkimarak: Lord of the underworld and of all its riches. Every stone, flint and gems alike, belong to him. A great violet dragon with enormous antlers. He reviews the lives of all that died and guides them to the new lives they deserve. Father of all dragons of the underworld.
- Idaka: Wife of Räkimarak, goddess of love and beauty. She resides at the darkest place, where her light shines the brightest. A violet dragon with a frill and wings of red rose petals with golden patterns. She stands for all encompassing unconditional love and reunites loving souls in their next lives. Mother of all dragons of the underworld.
- Kimorak: Firstborn son of Räkimarak and Idaka, guide of souls who escorts the souls of the dead into the underworld. A great black dragon with golden horns. Every mortal he touches sees and feels their life in great detail from the point of view of those they affected. In the process, mortals always see something they need to see.
- Galorak: Lord of caves and their denizes, bats. A small black dragon with bat ears and a bat nose. Caves are entrances to the underworld and bats are its sacred animals. They are not to be harmed. But since they are also messengers of death, one must keep a safe distance. Don't disturb the bats or Galorak may convince his older brother to take you too soon.
- Letorak: Messenger of the underworld. A small black dragon with golden antlers. Whenever Kimorak takes a soul, they often have something to tell their loved ones. Something they didn't have the time or the courage to say in life. It is Letorak's task to convey these messages through dreams.
- Vhedurak: The white dragon who heals souls between death and rebirth, so they don't take wounds from one life to the next.
- Ohnarak: Craftsman of the underworld. A great yellow dragon who can make anything out of the riches of this realm.
- Vahirak: Builder of the underworld. A great brown dragon with antlers he can use to dig new caves or cover up old ones as needed.
- Voomarak and Vothorak: The great hunters keeping the underworld free of demons preying on scared souls. Two emerald dragon who can turn invisible. The younger brother Voomarak has golden horns and is also the patron of boys and unmarried men. The older brother Vothorak has great golden antlers and is also the patron of married men.
- Mokorak, Kaharak, Roporak and Sukorak: The four golden-headed red dragons guarding the entrances to the underworld. Mokorak has the ears and nose of a bat, Kaharak has four horns, Roporak great antlers and Sukorak the wings and feathers of a swan.
- Tathorak: The great beast, god of violence and bloodshed, the only dragon of this realm who is not a son of Räkimarak and Idaka. A huge gray dragon with three heads, three tails and three pairs of wings. The most powerful beast in the cosmos, but devoid of empathy or understanding. He is imprisoned at the second deepest, darkest point of the underworld, where he guards the only being living even deeper below, the Nameless One.
The boundaries. This is the realm of souls and spirits, dreams and nightmares, the skies and oceans and all waters deep and shallow. This domain has existed before time even began. It is endless and timeless.
- Kavijohka: The moon, a great silver dragon with glowing teal eyes. Sister of Räkimarak and goddess of wisdom, cunning and battle.
- Vellamun: The ocean, husband of Kavijohka, a great blue dragon with red eyes and golden patterns. God of the unknown and lord of all waters. Sometimes, he stretches his hands out to land, creating bogs and swamps.
- Lukilan: The morning star, son of Kavijohka and Vellamun. He is the lightbringer who gives people the power of sight. An azure dragon with emerald eyes and a golden morning star on every scale and a third eye on his forehead.
- Sojulan: The great traveller, son of Kavijohka and Vellamun, a black dragon with red eyes and the neck and wings of a black swan. He travels between the waters, land and air and protects all fellow travelers.
- Turikan: Lord of storms, thunder and lightning. The loudest and most unruly son of Kavijohka and Vellamun. A blue dragon with red eyes and a golden lightning pattern on his scales. His tail is like a hammer, hurling lightning bolts at the ground as he roars.
- Lumika: Goddess of magic, daughter of Kavijohka and Vellamun, a silver dragon with teals eyes and scales shimmering with polar lights. She continues in the footsteps of her mother.
- Ilunika: Goddess of grief, daughter of Kavijohka and Vellamun, a silver dragon with teal eyes and the neck and wings of a black swan. She travels to and from the world of the living and the dead to take the grief of letting go upon her. Whenever she crosses the boundary, she has to go through the ocean and that is where tears comes from. That is why they are salty.
- Avastaja: The great trickster. A shapeshifter, usually appearing with the attributes of a barn owl. Most often as an owl-headed human or a fox/dragon with the head and wings of an owl. The youngest child of Kavijohka and Vellamun who defies all boundaries, uses the powers of all his/her siblings (except for Ilunika, because Avastaja has standards) to protect the jesters and jokers. But he/she is also a scolar and explorer, who uses Lukilan's light to find new ways to mess with people.
- Aiwana: Wife of Avastaja and goddess of memory. A shapeshifter, usually taking the same shape as her husband/wife Avastaja. She paints everything she sees into the skies and caves of Amaria and lives in every single one of the most sacred objects of all Amaria, the fairy memory stones. But Avastaja is rubbing off on her and sometimes, she plays tricks on you.
- The Ashirana: Goddesses of the arts, each of which has its own Ashiran patron. One for painters, wood carvers, musicians and for storytellers.
The world of the living. This is our material world.
- Kadath: The sun, greatest of all dragons with shining golden scales and golden eyes. God of justice who sees all... during the day that is. At night, his sister Kavijohka rules and she has a different idea of justice. Sometimes, she tries to turn the day to night, causing an eclipse. But in the end, Kadath always wins these confrontations. Especially when people light fires and cheer him on.
- Inari: Mother nature, goddess of life and all plants and animals. A great green dragon with wings and a frill made of flowers. She provides all food, but only as long as nature is in balance. Unlike her husband Kadath, Inaro does not care about justice, only balance. Those who anger her are punished mercilessly, no matter how long it takes, sometimes more than they deserve.
- Ilmania: Goddess of healing, firstborn daughter of Kadath and Inari. She was the first fairy, a tall woman with long pointy ears. Her descendant, although far shorter, are still endowed with her healing powers and compassion.
- Vrila: Protector of the home and hearth, patron of married women and the goddess of affectionate familiar love between equals. Secondborn daughter of Kadath and Inari. A woman, always accompanied by a cat and carrying a sling. The weapon of a lady, which requires skill and finesse instead of strong arms and can be more deadly than a bow in the right hands.
- Aria: Protector of girls and unmarried women, goddess of erotic love. A young woman with hair reaching to her ankles. She often reincarnates among mortals for fun. That is why the Amarians do not look down on women looking for fun. They might be dealing with a goddess in disguise.
- Mahaseta: The great white mammoth, goddess of the old world of Varaki. She and Inari together created dogs to protect humanity from dangers of the material and other worlds. All forest elephants and mammoths are her children and as such, sacred. But she was not born a goddess. Mahaseta was born a human. When Avastaja wanted to prove to the others that the material world and humanity are worth preserving, he appeared to Mahaseta in the most terrifying form and ordered her to sacrifice one of her own children to him. But Mahaseta refused. First she begged for the lives of all her children, then she offered her own life instead and when Avastaja refused, she spat in his face. No punishment could be worse than having to murder your own child. With these words, Mahaseta ascended to godhood.
- Retaro: Son of Mahaseta, who became a god by his mother's love. A great white tiger with blue eyes. Guardian of Amaria, lord of the forests and god of the hunt.
- Red Lady and Blue Knight: Also known as the Blue Lady and Red Knight. A pair of lovers who find each other in every new life they are born into. Living as mortals, they are the paragons of loyalty for all Amarians.
Evil. This is not actually a domain, but a state of mind. A very lonely one.
- The Nameless One: God of Evil, who goes by many false names. He lures mortals in with impossible promises to make them do his bidding. The Nameless One orders blood sacrifice and the killing of those who disobey him. He demands to worshiped and praised every day and is jealous of all those gods who receive praise without asking for it. Thus, the Nameless One also seeks to be the only one. No matter the cost to everyone else or even himself.

Context: I am currently working on a stone age fantasy novel and I'm sooo close to finishing it, but the last couple chapters are taking longer than expected. It's set on a forested island named Amaria\ at a time when people are making their first steps towards sedentary life and domestication** of plants and animals. Here is the pantheon I worked out for the Amarians.*
You can read my novel for free on Wattpad and Inkitt. I am planning to publish it on Royal Road too. If you know any other platform that might be good for fantasy stories, feel free to tell me. \Amaria is short for "Amara Aria", which translates to "Gift of the gods/spirits". Aria means gift and Amara is the plural of Amar. The term Amar can not be literally translated into English. It's an umbrella term for all sorts of nature spirits, gods as well as entities one might compare to angels or saints. So it refers to a person with transcendent characteristics and always carries positive connotations.*
\*Dogs have been domesticated by the ancestors of the Amarians for tens of thousands of years already and are central to their culture. It is believed that they have the same souls as humans, so eating a dog would be considered cannibalism. So far the only other note on domestication I have in the books is the pruning of hazelnut trees to get more nuts. That's something I will change in later drafts. Nightshades will be far more important to the civilization emerging on Amaria in the coming millennia.*

2024.05.21 21:54 TheMonkeyPrince [Steven Goff] D.C. United has bought out left back Mohanad Jeahze's guaranteed contract, freeing cap and roster space entering MLS summer window, per source. He was under contract through 2025 making $687,500 this year. Didn't fit in Troy Lesesne's system.
2024.05.21 21:54 ForeverExhausted17 HELP. 28 years worth of messed up symptoms but doctors say Iâm normal.
Iâm at my wits end and I really need some help or direction. I (28f) have always had issues with my hormones. Iâm average height and weight and my family has a history of low hormones but not anything thatâs been treated by a doctor.
I didnât have a period until I was 17 and that was only after multiple sonograms, ultrasounds, blood tests, and putting me on estrogen/progesterone to medically induce a period. Back then, I was told I was too skinny so my body wasnât producing hormones like it should. There was also talk about possibly having PCOS. Once my body started menstruating on its own with the help of birth control, my periods were awful and painful. I had suicidal ideation while I was on birth control so I stopped taking it.
Afterwards, my periods would start and stop randomly for years. I think I went almost a year without a period and then ended up having one for 6 weeks straight. At this point, I went to an OBGYN and she told me I could have a partial hysterectomy due to my severe side effects of birth control. At 26, I had my uterus removed and that has been one of the best decisions I made. The OBGYN found lots of endometriosis during this process as well.
But lately Iâve become more aware of symptoms that I probably shouldâve taken account of before. No libido, extreme fatigue, irritability, really hot sometimes and sweat during the night, muscle weakness and loss.
I had been looking at previous hormone tests and they all fall in the ânormalâ range. Iâll be honest, I donât know how to read all of them but the testosterone test. My T serum test peaked at 19 years old with 25 ng/dL. My most recent serum test before my hysterectomy was 14 ng/dL and records show it has steadily dropped over the years. I recently had a free testosterone direct blood test done and it came back as 0.8 pg/mL.
Every single test has been labeled as normal but I still have all these weird symptoms. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist next month but Iâm afraid theyâll say the same thing. I know google doesnât hold much weight but everything Iâve looked at has said at least my testosterone is low. But no doctor has said anything is low.
I just want to live a normal life and feel good in my body again. Please help or give advice, anything at all!! I feel so alone and like Iâm going nuts.

2024.05.21 21:49 Spandex_Etiano DEBATE: BIG TECH NEEDS MAJOR DISRUPTION
DISCLAIMER: This is a RANT that's going here as someone who just graduated from SOA, and I'm sure there's discourse that's already been going on for a while around what I have to say that I'm just new to it but what I have to say just feels urgent to shout at a bunch of people, but specifically people who might be receptive/interested in taking action on it/at least thinking through it and debating it. SO while there might be a better space for this post, we'll see what moderators and anyone else on here might think.
SO:
As title states. IMO Big Tech has really truly gotten out of hand in controlling and having influence over every aspect of human culture and society globally; way, WAY too much power. I think this is real bad and a lot of us aren't vibing with it, and we should be trying to disrupt Big Tech's power.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibMd_Jx9daw&t=1s This conversation about AI in music/Spotify sparked a march larger chain of thought in me about something that I took for granted but didn't realize the scope of. Across nearly every industry, Big Tech is running mass/macro culture into the ground. Movie studios don't take risks on things because all profits rely on streaming services (no more Blockbuster rentals to make up box office losses). All forms of media, entertainment, even journalism or information, the whole game of content--
I don't know if anyone else has felt this way, but I feel like the algorithms feeding me content every day don't even work at hacking my lizard brain anymore like they used to; I mean most of the shit they show me on social media and other apps these days just doesn't hold my attention or interest me any more. It feels like, no offense STEM peeps, your services and function in society and humanity is vital, but seems like fueled by the structures of capitalism, a bunch of STEM peeps in Silicon Valley thought they could reduce the human spirit to math and engineering, and the feeling I have of cultural stagnation seems to me to prove the overstep of Tech Companies incentivized to grow ceaselessly with no greater reason than higher stock prices.
Has anyone else not felt like art and culture has been kind of stagnant lately? Art and culture has been taken over my tech companies and on the macro level, shit is just bad an uninspired and I feel like we're all really in need of many kinds of revolution, but also one that's more a humanistic creative artistic and cultural revolution.
Does Tech really need to just keep advancing? I'm not convinced humanity is doomed unless Tech companies just keep expanding and exploding and completely shifting the entire nature of the human experience in a single human lifetime. I'm not convinced that's necessary or inevitable. I'm not anti-tech either, but I think the version we've gotten of monopolized capitalist tech corps turning our digital commons into a deeply surveilled Digital Disney World is not inevitable.
I'm speculating here, but I'm day-dreaming about young creatives, inspired STEM peeps, perhaps even some of YOU, who might be trying to figure out how to make new decentralized internet, how to create more new micro internet culture. Create hardware systems that people can access and allows them to communicate with other people in different ways than devices created by corporations; DEI software and hardware not owned and controllled by corporations, almost a vision of anarchist tech, with clever people using the comms systems already in place to let the masses know and teach them about these new spaces forming on new internets and new systems that massive corps can't control. Make virtual meeting spaces and modes of communication that aren't owned by Musk, Bezos, and Zuck.
I know shit like this already exists and it immediately gets targeted (and i'm sure sometimes fairly when it's actually used by criminals and terrorists)--but I believe the right people are clever enough to design something that could be innocent and benign enough to really break through and disrupt the monopoly of the tech corps.
We can do better tech, better internet, and we can disrupt the power of these tech companies, because a handful of these assholes have just been going to town on human civilization for the last decade and these mfs need to be put in their place. I don't believe we have to inevitably plow into a cyberpunk dystopia; I think the last few months on campus should have everyone here in agreement that if enough people feel strongly enough about something and choose to resist it together, things can happen.

2024.05.21 21:47 Commercial-Basis-220 THE STEALTHIEST STEALTH TO EVER STEALTH
So I was thinking of doing another campaign, but using OP builds is boring so I did some research. Basically, this strategy utilizes party members to buff a main character and max out Stealth.
Even tho we're maxing stealth, i think the damage output of this build is still strong ( in normal battle )
You can do this multiple ways, and here's some choices I came up with. All of this info I got from
bg3.wiki and my memory from build tutorials I read/watched before, so special thanks to all of them.
TLDKeypoint:
Lightfoot Halfling character with 24 Dex + Greater Invisibility (from someone) + Expertise Stealth + Advantage in stealth check + ton bonus stealth check via gear, guidance and pass without a trace + Lucky from Halfling
Not enough? go for 11 rogue to get reliable talent
**Character Creation**:
* Race Selection : any or Lightfoot Halfling for an advantage and a reroll on a 1 on stealth checks
* Background (if Tav): any or Urchin / Criminal for Stealth Proficiency
* Class: Explained on later section ( Multiple ways to do this ), but you could choose Rogue/FighteRanger for now
* Main Ability: Go for 17 dex, the rest, up to you, personally I then max Constitution, and then Charisma (if Party Face) or Wisdom and dump the rest
* Skill Proficiency: Maxing Stealth for proficiency and expertise, rest up to you
**Class Selection**
Overview:
Your character should have access to:
- Maximum dexterity of 24
- Stealth skill - Expertise level
- Pass without a Trace spell ( For easier setup, else someone else cast it )
- Disguise Self (if you are not a gnome and no other party member able to cast seeming)
* How to get 24 Dexterity:
17 initial dex + 1 Hag HaiAthlete Feat + 2 ASI + 2 Mirror of Loss + 2 Nimblefinger Gloves
* The build:
If you use hag hair
Go for classic 5 Gloomstalker (disguise self + pass without a trace) / 4 Champion / 3 Assassin / 2 of your feat being +2 ASI DEX and Sharpshooter and picking stealth expertise.
Fighting style: Archery and Defense
If not:
Go for 8 Champion Fighter (Athlete/ASI, ASI, Sharpshooter) / 1 rogue (Stealth Proficiency & Expertise) / 3 trickery cleric (disguise self+pass without a trace)
Fighting style: Archery
The order of taking level is up to you, but if you want to stealthing as soon as possible, prioritize getting pass without a trace and upgrading your dex/stealth skill, once a party member has access to greater invisibility, go nuts!
â-------------------------
**Stealth Gear Choices**
This list of gear will give stealth check bonus, if you think you have enough stealth bonus, feel free to change it, my goal is to make the enemy canât see me,
- Glove: Nimblefinger Glove (+2 Dex as gnome, work if disguised as gnome)
- Shield: Gloomstrand Shield (+2 AC, Guarantee +1 Stealth)
- Armor: Leather Armour +2 (13 AC, Guarantee +1 Stealth) or Penumbral Armour (+3 stealth while obscured [i hate this, cause obscured is so situational, but if u want go for it]) or The Graceful Cloth (advantage in dexterity check, if you are not lightfoot halfling, or no one able to cast Enhance Ability / Blessing of the Trickster on you )
- Main Hand (optional in case you somehow still don't have advantage on stealth check): Assassin's Shortsword.
With your 24 dex, shield, and armor alone, you are able to get up to 13+7+2=22 AC, If you want more you could do via gear or spell, but I donât think you need high AC cause you will be attacking while invisible, do a high AC never hurt :D.
- Ring 1: Shapeshifter ring ( +1d4 to all skill check while disguised, synergized with nimblefinger )
- Ring 2: Smuggler ring (Guarantee +2 stealth)
*Rest of the slot: up to you, none of it can improve stealth so this is what i like/generally good item
- Head: Saverok Helmet for guarantee -1 Critical threshold or Soul Perception (+2 to atk roll, init, perception)
- Cloak: Cloak of Protection (+1 AC) or Cloak of Displacement
- Boot: Evasive Shoes (+1 AC) or Disintegrating Night Walkers (misty step) or Boots of Persistence (longstrider + freedom of movement)
- Amulet: Amulet of Greater Health (23 Con) or Amulet of Bhaal (bleeding) or Amulet of Misty Step
- MainHand: Knife of undermountain king or club of hill giant strength ( if titanstringBow and no str elixir ), there is
- Ranged Weapon: Deadshot or Titanstring bow
- Elixir: STR elixir (if titanstring bow) or collosal elixir (extra 1d4 damage ) or bloodlust (nerfed in honour mode)
â----------------------
So with all of that setup, your character on level 12 in Act 3 with the best condition should have:
- Advantage on Stealth Check, reroll if got a 1
- Flat bonus +7 (24 dex) + 4(prof)+ 4 (expert) + 10 (pass) + 1 (shield) + 1 (armor) + 2(smuggler)= 29
- dice bonus: 1d4 ( guidance ) + 1d4 (shapeshifter ) + 1d6 (rupture)
- Greater Invisibility ( double the duration with sorcerer, so 20 turn :D)
You are gone, the enemy canât see you, you will only fail if you roll at least 4 nat 1 in a row ( if my understanding of advantage + lucky is correct ), 0.000625% chance of failing.
- Your roll should be at minimum 2 (dice) + 1 + 1 + 1 ( dice bonuses) + 29 = 34 and maximum of 19+4+4+6+29 = 62, Holy hell.
It may not be the strongest build, but I feel like it will be super fun just being invisible for 20 turns and having the enemy search for you.
â---------------------------
Thank you for reading until here :D. (Havenât yet tried this but on paper looks fun hahaha) if someone already created a similar type of build before, or iâm just repeating what already known, so sorry, just wanted to share this with you guys.
