Demographics: Asian American 😭 , Male, First Generation College student and Immigrant, low income student, 33k income, Uncompetitive and Underfunded, title 1 funded and eligible high school in fringe rural Ohio with basically no clubs and extracurriculars aside from music and sports. The school is surrounded by cornfields. School average ACT is 19. I got the highest ACT in my school and probably the only 36 in my county but idk.

Additional Info: I don't think my school has sent anyone to an HYPSM ever, most people just apply to local community colleges. The only student that I've heard that got into a T20 was someone who was recruited for Track for Cornell. This might make me stand out in terms of my school but idk how much that'll help. My school doesn't have a lot of resources and student interests in academics so I can't really start a club that much. I got accepted into an internship this summer but had to reject it because of my work at the restaurant and transportation issues. Overall there's not a lot of opportunities at my school and my circumstances also limited the few opportunities I had like sports. I hope my application would be evaluated based on my context and that AOs would see that I really tried to take advantage of anything I could as long as it didn't tax my family's financial situation.
Btw I’m also confident about my app becuz of my school lol. There was one Harvard applicant this year and they got waitlisted. They showed me their app and tbh it wasn’t that good. They didn’t know how to order their activities from most important to least and instead did it in a random order 💀. They also had quite a bit of B’s. They took 20 dual enrollment classes and zero AP classes. They didn’t take calculus and went test optional. They were president of like 3 clubs and was second for congressional art show. They were also very involved in band, played varsity golf for four years, and was section leader for marching band. She did come from a single parent household, but wasn’t FGLI. She applied as a bio premed major. Not saying she’s not smart (she’s definitely more talented than me) but she didn’t care about getting in that much so didn’t try as hard. She mostly applied for fun and still got waitlisted, so I think i have a decent chance tho my thinking might be flawed.

As the title states. Flows that I have that write to a Dataverse table on row modification are being blocked by business rules I've created.
I have a model driven app running off two tables: Projects and ProjectLineItems. The app opens with the list of rows in Projects. You click on one and are taken to the primary screen where work happens, which shows details about the project in one section and, beneath that, an editable grid with all the rows from ProjectLineItems that are related to the selected project.
All my business rules are on ProjectLineItems, scoped to the entity (and, yes, I'm pretty sure it's the scoping that's the problem---I don't have a choice; the form belongs to Projects, not ProjectLineItems). I have a few flows that need to run on edit of a line item in ProjectLineItems. Some of them make changes to other rows in the table. All of my business rules (which are just set to "Show Error," they don't make changes to required fields or field visibility) are blocking any of my flows from running and are, in the error message on the run, showing my business rule error.
Does anyone know how I might have my flows bypass those business rules?

In Eckhart Tolles book, “The Power of Now” and “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrnes, they essentially state that our thoughts aren’t our own. My intention for this post is to tell you and warn you about the ways in which the mind can be tampered with and manipulated. If I asked you to calm your thoughts for a second and predict what thought you would have next….most if not all of us will not be able to come up with anything. Our minds can easily be manipulated especially now more than ever because of the instability that is occurring in the world. You might not think that it is impacting you or that nothing like that could happen to you but it will…trust. Whatever happens in one area will spread to another area kinda like COVID except what I’m talking about here in particular are spirits. Metaphorically, Pandora’s box has been opened and there’s no way around it except to face what will be happening next. My mom keeps asking me why I’m so concerned with the state of the world that I should just focus on myself and focus on what I want but my mind is NOT wired that way. I am not trying to fear monger but there is a great spiritual war that is about to play out on the world wide stage. The Vatican is announcing on the 17th the ways in which we can deal with these possible spiritual encounters but I’ve been dealing with these types of things for years now so I picked up a few things on how to thwart away some of their negative influences. Which I will be getting into later. As I mentioned before there’s four dimensions to my “gifts”.
1.channeled thoughts 2.Feelings/sensations 3.Dreams 4.visions
I didn’t have access to all four until recently I’d say probably somewhere around 10-11 months ago. I only had access to 2 & 3. However when your mind & body is put through a lot of stress certain “junk” DNA gets unlocked. What I’m talking about right now is epigenetics. We all have generational curses but we also have generational gifts. These gifts can be unlocked when we are put in situations that push us past our mental and emotional boundaries. Nevertheless, close friends and family around me know that not only have I been receiving certain messages (aka downloads as many spiritual people call it) regarding myself, the people in my life but also the world. Some of the downloads that come in can be very dark in nature but they aren’t necessarily my own. For example, I am not a suicidal person but I kept getting these visions of getting shot in the head and It didn’t show me who it was. There are many instances that I’ve had odd visions like that. Sometimes I would see sexual visions about people I’m not even sexually attracted to so these things would confuse the fuck out of me. And made me feel like damn I didn’t know my mind is so dirty but the truth is I don’t have a dirty mind but these visions would still come to me in that way as if trying to tell me something about those certain hypocrites oopse I mean people. Mainstream doctors have no answers for me. They love to slap a diagnosis on me and fill me up with drugs and “medication” that treat the symptom of the problem but not the problem itself. I shouldn’t have to say this but yes I take my meds every time I am given them. However, these medications fundamentally are ineffective FOR ME. Because I am not sick and I have been trying to deal with my abilities and “powers”. no one around me really has them (they do actually just not as developed as mine are unfortunately). My friends and family are doing everything in the power to understand me and what Im going through and be there for me but unfortunately they cannot even though they think they do/can. I wish I could place each and every one of you into my mind and memories so that you can see exactly what I’m experiencing.
I must seek out the help of a spiritual mentor kinda like the bald lady from Dr. Strange but that would probably require me to travel to some sort of Asian country to get the real deal…unless anyone can tell me someone in the USA I could talk to???

The vibration of the planet is rising and unfortunately this means that we’re going to start becoming sensitive to the spiritual realms. and if it does start happening to you or someone you know please follow the directions below.

Second cleanse all protection talismans in the house with sage, evil eye beads, crystal bracelets, hamsa hand decorations, etc.
Third prayer is so powerful & underrated please make sure you recite a prayer from whatever religion you believe in, you can even airplay the prayer onto the TV of your home for the same effect. For those of you that aren’t religious I would recommend playing some solfeggio frequencies.

I don't know if it's only me, but this game, while being fantastic, in some areas manages to consistently break years of gaming conventions.
A few examples of the top of my head:

• 500kg bomb does not have a blast radius, it’s like a punch, but when it explodes it looks like it has
• the charger has a weak spot glowing green, but it isn’t, the heavy armored head and front legs are
• the charger is named charger, but can stop and turn and defy physics
• the bile titan has unarmored green belly which explodes but it’s not the a weak point when it starts spitting and exposing it, the heavey armored head is.
• the nursing spewer weak point is the heavy armored head, not the unarmored body
• fastest way to kill bersekers is their crotch, not the glowing red head, but on devastators and hulks it is
• the primary weapon is not primary, you should rely on your stratagems
• eagles are more powerful than something that gets launched from the orbit
• not even going to go into the armor designs vs. their passives (absolutely bonkers)
• weapons line up do not have any distinct trade offs between them so you are aware of their designated destination of use (e.g. no armor penetration, but low recoil, more magazines -> vs. high armor penetration, high recoil, lower magazines)

I’m very sure there is an explanation for each one of these.
But the thing is, it’s just bad design, it’s not intuitive and breaks expectations without any reason at all.

My father was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in summer of 2022. He went through treatment and finished April 2023 . We followed up every 3 months for ct scans and he was told he was he was cancer free every time as recently as Dec 2023. He had some chest pain in Feb 2024. We went to local ER and they did a ct scan stating he had two new masses that were cancer. We followed up with his oncologist who said he needed to wait six weeks to do a pet scan because It was the only way that he would be able to tell if it was cancer. We waited the six weeks we went back for the PET scan, but my father was not feeling well that day, so we ended up not being able to have the test. He also ended up back in the hospital where they did another CT scan and the oncologist there said that there were two large masses and they were so large that there was nothing they could do, no treatment available. He was going to die within 4 months and they put him on hospice. I called his primary oncologist and they said that they trust the hospital oncologist and there was nothing they could do. He should just stay on hospice. I didn’t think this was possible so I ordered a PET scan about a month later and found out he is actually cancer free. He just had pneumonia and that was what was clouding the CT scan so they gave him a terminal diagnosis, and put him on hospice telling him that was it. Our entire family was dealing with his death. He was in grief counseling he gave away his stuff he was preparing to die. All of us were preparing for him to die. None of this should’ve happened. They should’ve ordered pet scan before giving a terminal cancer diagnosis and recommending hospice. from where I’m sitting, it’s negligent to say the least. They didn’t do proper testing and instead told him he was terminal and he was Facing his death! He is now on hospice for absolutely no reason. We had stopped all other medications for other things he's dealing with because we were told it was pointless. He now most certainly has PTSD from this. It's destroyed so much. People have come from all over the place spending money to say their goodbyes not to mention the emotional termoil we've all dealth with and especially him. I even changed jobs to be remote so I could be with him while in Hospice. Took of countless time from work etc. All things that never should have happened. The bottom line is he was told he had terminal cancer and he was gonna die. They put him on hospice and none of that was true. He had no cancer. He has been cancer free since April 2023 and during this terminal diagnosis it is caused our family unbearable grief, and lots of money. It could’ve been avoided if the proper tests were ordered, but they were not. Is there a case?

Lately, both in person and on this sub, I have seen a worrying amount of misinformation spreading about the political party Aon Tu. This misinformation either states that they are a left/liberal party or that they are not right/conservative. This is however clearly wrong as any amount of inspection of their statements and social media makes clear; any clear dive into their policies and statements make it clear that they are instead very right wing, if not far right. They use the many familiar terms associated with similar parties, hold the same stances, and even retweet them and their content.
In order to illustrate this below I am presenting the various tweets made by Peadar Tóibín (the current leader of the party, their founder, and currently sole elected official) as well as their official twitter account. I have limited it solely to tweets due to time and space constraints, I have also had to limit the amount of tweets due to the same constraints There is more and I strongly encourage anyway to check their accounts for themselves. If there is interest I can do a deep dive into their other socials and statements, however I do not think there is a way to access the backlog of debates they have had on RTE and radio unfortunately. Our food pantry is very lucky that a local grocery chain donates their unwanted or overflow baked goods twice a week. This ranges from garlic bread loafs, to donuts, or pies. Whatever doesn't sell within a specified time frame, they truck to us twice a week at 5 am. Our team puts together a box for each family; we try to be fair and give everyone a little of what's available. At 7 am, you walk up to the front door, sign the paper with your name and we hand you a box. It's first come first served until we run out and our policy is we turn no one away as long as we have food to give.
This morning a boomer was in line behind a woman with two small children. The boomer had nice clothes, very nice watch, jewelry. I'm not trying to judge but she was clearly not in need and she isn't taking it to give to others (because of her comment later) The two kids were 5 and 7 I'd estimate and probably hungry, because they were pretty jumpy while mom was trying to sign the form. It took maybe, MAYBE, 2 minutes for this lady to get her box, sign, thank us and leave. As soon as Ms. Boomer gets her box, she starts complaining about the awful wait and how 'she shouldn't have those kids if she can't feed them' Ma'am you are standing there taking the same food this woman was here for, you are in no position to pass judgment. She then left, no thanks, and came back later to complain that she didn't get any donuts and wanted any we had left over. There were no donuts for any one today, some bakery cookies which everyone else was happy to take.

What Does 'Have a Plan' look like?
We hear it often enough in the sub. "Have a plan" or "DCA" or even "DYOR" but what does that look like. For me, this is what, 'have a plan' looks like. Feel free to add any extra wisdom or lessons learned as well.
1- First step was the DYOR phase or determine what project to invest in. For fairly safe and sure price growth, Eth and BTC are two good bets. They're essentially the 'blue chips' of the crypto space and if you get confused or overwhelmed by all of the projects and the terminology, they're a good starting point. White papers are a great read though they can be technically daunting. Development plans or cycles help as well, like the bitcoin halving cycle / calendar or Eth development plan.
2- Second step is determine how much you can afford to invest that wouldn't break you if you lost it. This is the 'don't invest more than you can afford to lose' phase. Be honest and serious about your budget. For me, it's 250$ every two weeks out of each paycheck, with an additional bump whenever I get unexpected stuff, like a tax return or a small bonus this year, making sure not to stretch out or expand debt to be able to invest.
2.5 - We are here. You might still be DCA in or you might be holding to DCA but either way, both steps 2 and 3 are important.
3- Third step is determine your exit price. This will be the price at which you start to DCA out or phase out your profits. Having that price target in mind really helps with FOMO because knowing that i'm not selling til 10k means that right now, in the crab bear market, the day to day actions of the price chart, don't mean much because I'm DCAing in until I hit that exit price.
4- Fourth step is expand that plan. By that I mean, like above, I've got a few ETH set aside to be sold at 10k. The rest will keep staking for longer term with an exit price of ~25k. That might be 2030 or 2035, but knowing that exit point again helps me ignore the daily charts.
Step 5 for me is HUGE in fighting FOMO or worry about missed potential profits
5- Step 5 is plan where those profits are gonna go. I know I'll set ~1/3 to taxes (overplanning in case), a good chunk to pay off debt, and we're planning a small add-on to the house that those profits will take care of. Having that plan made out helps you hold firm until that exit price as well. If I know I need to be around 10k to sell, it reinforces that I don't care if the price point is 3000 or 2000, because I'm not selling anytime soon.
6- Step 6 is plan for a small powder bag. One way I do this is keeping some USDC on one of the CEXs, nominally staked or yielding and earning a bit. Usually at a higher rate than a savings account. This is the gambling bag or moonshot bag or secondary portfolio, however you want to call it. This is the money you set aside for when things catch your interest. Whether it's legitimate like Donuts or a pump and dump like Pepe that you want to throw some money in on a gamble. Plan for where those $$ come from and limit yourself to what you set aside for it and know your exit price as well.
7 - Step 7 is determine if there's anything you can do to grow passively. I mentioned that I have some Eth and I have it staked or earning passively to grow my bags. There are options to grow your bags that don't take $$ but might take some time. If there's a hobby you enjoy that might earn some crypto or something passive like using BAT browser or something along those lines that help you get a fix during a prolonged and incredibly BORING crab-bear market.

In Chapter 3, it's revealed by the medical records disk that Isa's name is shorthand for "Isolde." I wasn't familiar with this name, but I felt it was distinctive enough that there had to be some meaning behind it, so I did some digging.
One use of the name "Isolde" that caught my attention was that it is the name of a facility at CERN- the ISOLDE or Isotope Separator On Line DEvice, used to produce and separate radioactive isotopes of elements for research purposes. Given the game's frequent use of motifs relating to nuclear science and the health risks of radiation, it felt too specific to be incidental. Still, there wasn't much meaning I could derive from it, but I thought it was interesting enough to be worth pointing out.
The most prominent instance of that name is from the story of Tristan and Isolde, a celtic legend and a romantic tragedy often described as a precursor to Romeo and Juliet. There are many versions of the story told across different times and cultures, but given the game's many references to Romantic Era art from the German speaking world such as Schubert's Serenade and Böcklin's Isle of the Dead, I'm inclined to think it's specifically referencing Richard Wagner's opera "Tristan and Isolde". I'll give a quick synopsis here and analyze the parallels that I think may reflect Isa's role in the story. (To avoid confusion, from now on I will only use 'Isolde' to refer to the character from Tristan and Isolde while 'Isa' will refer to the one from Signalis, unless otherwise stated.)
It begins with Isolde on a ship, being escorted by the knight Tristan, from Ireland to Cornwall to marry Tristan's uncle, King Mark of Cornwall. It is an arranged marriage she is not keen on going through. In a fit of rage, she curses the ship, hoping it sinks and takes all of them with it, particularly Tristan. After learning that Tristan killed her original fiancé, she issues him an ultimatum that she will not willingly leave with him until he drinks with her as an atonement. In truth, she is planning to poison the both of them, and he suspects as much, but in an attempt to prevent this, her attendant replaced the poison with a love potion.
Though she ends up marrying King Mark between the first and second act, Tristan and Isolde can't ignore their passionate love. They realize the only time they can safely pursue their relationship is at night, when the King and the court aren't watching. As their patience for the night grows thinner, they realize the only way to realize their love is through the eternal night: Death. But at the same time, they are caught together by the King and his attendant. Without even attempting to explain his betrayal, he asks Isolde to follow him into death and impales himself on a sword.
In the third act, Tristan partially recovers from the suicide attempt but remains delirious. At the sound of a shepard's pipe in the distance, he reflects on the death of his parents, believing the pipe to be death now calling to him. He laments drinking the potion and how it led him to live a life of madness desiring something that can never be. He dies in Isolde's arms and she follows him into death. As the King arrives to the scene, Tristan's servant kills the King's attendant in revenge and then himself. Amidst all the death, the king reveals he had learned about the love potion and had simply come to offer his blessing to Tristan and Isolde, and the story ends with them finally realizing their love in the afterlife.
In writing this adaptation of the classic story, Wagner was reportedly inspired by the work of Arthur Schopenhauer, particularly his work "Die Welt ais Wille und Vorstellung" or "The World as Will and Representation." In "The Tristan Chord: Wagner and Philosophy", author Bryan Magee identifies Wagner's use of day and night as respective metaphors for "phenomenon", the aspects of the world we can perceive and "noumenon", the fundamentally unknowable reality beneath it. Both concepts were first named by Immanuel Kant, but Schopenhauer further argued that the gap between them is the cause of misery and suffering for all sentient beings; our individual pursuits and efforts to move towards a more personally favorable 'phenomenon' cannot be reconciled with a fundamentally uncertain state of the world and its other inhabitants. That to fulfill one desire requires the quashing of ten others. Illustrating this, he writes:

"...he saw an immense field entirely covered with skeletons, and took it to be a battle-field. However, they were nothing but skeletons of large turtles five feet long, three feet broad, and of equal height. These turtles come this way from the sea in order to lay their eggs, and are then seized by wild dogs... with their united strength, these dogs lay them on their backs, tear open their lower armour, the small scales of the belly, and devour them alive. But then a tiger often pounces on the dogs. Now all this misery is repeated thousands and thousands of times, year in year out. For this, then, are these turtles born. For what offence must they suffer this agony? What is the point of this whole scene of horror? The only answer is that the will-to-live thus objectifies itself."

Returning to Signalis, this quote immediately calls to mind the first-person Shores of Oblivion scene, in which skulls are buried and littered across the sand, and a quote from one of the nearby scattered papers:

we should have never left
the primordial soup
only through death can i escape
the call of the one who rules
above all life

Tristan and Isolde, realizing that their personal passions were irreconcilable with the interests of the material world they were in, concluded the only answer was to leave it behind altogether, so they made a death pact. A "promise", if you will. So upon finding Tristan dead, Isolde takes her own life. Much like how our Isa, who upon losing hope of being able to find Erika in the living world, disintegrates.
Another related theme connecting these stories is the lamentation of fate. Just as Isolde prays for the ship carrying her to her destiny to sink with her on it, and as Tristan regrets drinking the potion that led him to a life of desire for something that could never be, two early game quotes from Isa show that she is seeking Erika not just with love and concern but with regret for how they left things:

"Erika, if you find this note, despite everything that's happened. I've come to look for you."
"Have you ever wondered if you're speaking to someone for the last time without knowing? I wish I could go back, so I could say something else."

The details of this regret are deliberately ambiguous. It sounds like they had a fight or falling out, but 'everything that's happened' implies a deeper conflict- a disagreement or choice that they couldn't reconcile. Something important enough that it took Isa away from her sister, yet also something she regrets so greatly that she would take it all back just so she can see her sister one more time.
As Schopenhauer said, "A man can do what he wants, but not want what he wants." The great tragedy at the center of Tristan and Isolde is that even if we have control of our actions, we are at the mercy of the desires we were given by fate. It's a theme that permeates not just Isa's story, but Signalis as a whole.
Elster never chose to love Ariane. Had she not, she might have found the strength to end her suffering before it was too late. So she ran away from the "day" of Ariane's suffering into the "night" of keeping her in cryosleep.
Ariane never chose to love art. Had she not, she could have had a simple and comfortable life fitting in with her peers. So she ran away from the "day" of the Eusan Nation's surveillance and social ridicule into the "night" of Penrose-512.
Falke lost any hope of finding happiness after becoming burdened with emotions and identity that she could do nothing to satiate, and quite literally went from the "day" of life into the "night" of dreaming.
And then there's Adler, all but crushed by helplessness as he tries in vain to hold back the death of reality, as Elster and Isa continue to bring about its apparent decay in pursuit of their own wills. The relationship between Adler and Isa is interesting and I think quite important, as he's the only character besides Elster who gets direct screen time with her. As the game bluntly mentions the first time Adler meets Isa,

NONE OF US ARE HERE BY CHOICE (And No One Will Miss Us)

It's from this and the Schopenhauerian interpretation of Tristan and Isolde that I think Adler represents phenomenon while Isa represents noumenon.
Adler wishes to preserve the light of day. To awaken from the dream and return to shared experience of a common, coherent reality. One where what you see is what you get. Where experiences can be trusted, and results are predictable.
Isa wishes to live in the night. The world of passion and of choice. Valuing the experience of familial love over all else, even the world or truth, she continues to live only in pursuit of another reality amidst the abyss of uncertainties, one where she made amends with her sister before it was too late, or never fell out with her at all. And when she finally accepts that she cannot find it or manifest it, much like her namesake, she concludes the "eternal night" is her last recourse.
There can be no perfect reconciliation between these two wills. It can never be day and night at the same time. And yet they do find themselves together- falling into the bottom of the mine. In the Nowhere, at the end of all things. At the sunset, the liminal space in between the night and day, between dreaming and waking. Because, one means nothing without the other.
To me that is the important take away from her story. That if we don't want to live in regret over the hand life dealt us- hating ourselves for being unable to fulfill the desires we were stuck with, before its too late, we must confront the question of which world we want to live in.
Is it truly better to have loved and lost then never loved at all? Is it truly better to have tried and failed than to never try? I don't want to believe the answer is no, but none of us can be certain for ourselves until we reason with ourselves honestly about why we struggle with the question in the first place- what the true value of each side of the coin is. Perhaps then we can accept what is beyond our control.
To quote Schopenhauer once more:

Every individual, every human apparition and its course of life, is only one more short dream of the endless spirit of nature, of the persistent will-to-live, is only one more fleeting form, playfully sketched by it on its infinite page, space and time; it is allowed to exist for a short while that is infinitesimal compared with these, and is then effaced, to make new room. Yet, and here is to be found the serious side of life, each of these fleeting forms, these empty fancies, must be paid for by the whole will-to-live in all its intensity with many deep sorrows, and finally with a bitter death, long feared and finally made manifest. It is for this reason that the sight of a corpse suddenly makes us serious.
