2024.05.22 01:13 BiasCutTweed Can You Layer Sunscreens?
Iâve run into a few scenarios lately that have me asking if there are any potential problems with layering different sunscreens, and if Iâm risking diminishing their efficacy or not. So, Iâm hoping some of our cosmetic science inclined folks can shed some light for me.
For one, I got a tube of Numbuz:n - No.2 Goodbye Redness Derma Tone Up and, while on its own it is way too much and makes me look like a zombie, using just a touch of it as a concealecolor corrector over a neutral tone up sunscreen looks great. Likewise, itâs summer where I am now and so there are times when Iâd like to do a little midday top up of my sunscreen just to be safe, and Iâm wondering if it would be a bad idea to layer, say, a spray at midday over a cream I put on in the morning. Am I risking the active ingredients doing weird things to each other or am I overthinking this?

What Are The Ingredients of Sumatra Slim Belly Tonic?
You can quickly notice excellent results in just 21 days that support healthy weight loss with a combination of five potent plant extracts. And here is the detailed list of Sumatra Slim Belly Tonic:
- Valerian Root: Actinidine and other valerian alkaloids have been proven to be soothing. The sedative and overall soothing effects of valerian are a result of these alkaloids. Valerian unintentionally aids in weight loss by encouraging improved sleep hygiene.
- Humulus lupulus: It has been said to have diuretic, digestive, sedative, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial qualities. It has even been suggested as a treatment for insomnia.
- Griffonia simplicifolia or 5-HTP: The natives use its dried rind as a preservative and flavouring, saying that eating a small amount of this fruit makes them whole. It blocks the action of an enzyme called citrate lyase, suppressing your appetite. It increases the production of glycogen, which tells your brain that you are full.
- Berberine: The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects of berberine support healthy gut flora and lessen digestive system inflammation. It helps people shed extra weight, reduce excessive blood sugar, and reduce high cholesterol. Berberine effectively burns fat because of its ability to activate AMPK pathways, also known as the metabolic master switch.
- Spirulina Blue is an antioxidant and nutrient-rich blue-green alga known for fighting free radicals and inflammation.
- Black Cohosh: Black cohosh is a buttercup family member that mainly has estrogen-like properties. According to studies, black cohosh helps menopausal women feel more energized, regulate their mood and body temperature, promote restful sleep, increase libido, and more.
- Lutein: Lutein is a type of naturally occurring yellow pigment known as a carotenoid found in significant quantities in several fruits and vegetables. Lutein is a nutrient humans can take and metabolize into beneficial forms that protect the eye cells from oxidative damage.
- Inulin is a prebiotic power-up that boosts digestion goals, immune strength, and heart health vibes.
- L-Citrulline: L-Citrulline has been studied carefully lately, and research states that it can increase the blood flow to the penis. It widens the blood pathways and allows more oxygen-rich, nitric oxide-rich and nutrient-rich blood to be retained in your penis. This helps relieve mild ED and its symptoms immediately. It can also treat severe ED in the long term.
- Vitamin C: Vitamin C works as an antioxidant to reduce the toxins in the body and remove any chemicals or unwanted matter stuck in your arteries, capillaries and blood pathways. Vitamin C is often linked with reducing inflammation, which is also a considerable cause of ED and poor sexual performance in older men. It supports penile chambersâ health and nourishes your manhood.
- L-Proline: When combined with vitamins, this amino acid is often used to reverse the clocks of ageing and its symptoms in men. When consumed in the correct dosage, L-Proline helps reduce your symptoms of ED, BPH, and other sexual disorders or ailments naturally. It helps the vitamins and minerals get absorbed and works well for your penile health regardless of your age and health conditions.
- COQ10: Its supplementation reduces oxidative stress and free radical damage to your manhood. The most common cause of ED is claimed to be oxidative stress, and COQ10 helps reduce and obliterate it. It prevents toxins from damaging and reducing the nourishment of your penile chambers. It helps other amino acids nourish you.
- Pine Bark Extract: It helps improve sperm concentration and makes you virile. It doesnât matter how old you are; when taken in the right amount and with the right ingredients, Pine Bark Extract supports your endothelium, which protects your sexual health. It reduces inflammation and supports your erectile muscles and their functions. It helps you hold your erections for as long as you want.
- L-Lysine: It helps your penis grow and reach its full potential. When your penis doesnât get enough blood or nutrient supply, it canât get erect fully. This makes it look more undersized and malnourished. When you get enough of L-Lysine through Boostaro, your penis looks bigger, fuller and more youthful. You can remain more complex and more robust for longer.
- Magnesium: Magnesium is an essential mineral that enhances the health of your endothelium. It supports better blood flow to the penile chambers and also assists your penis in retaining this blood flow for a long time. Magnesium is also linked with reducing the blood-brain barrier. It helps you remain aroused, in the mood and full of energy so you can reach the maximum pleasure for yourself and your partner.
- Vitamin K2: Often overlooked, Vitamin K2 is said to be the most essential vitamin in boosting nitric oxide production. It helps improve the thinning of the blood and allows it to move at full speed and force to the penis. This flow enriches your penis and its chambers with a boost of vitamins and minerals. It helps restore your erectile health even in old age. Vitamin K2 is not well-absorbed in your diet. Hence, Booster gives you enough of it every day.

2024.05.21 23:34 reflected_alice "Breakfast (from Hell) at Tiffany's"
TLDR; my mother-in-law endangered my child's life over breakfast food.
I (31F) and my husband (30M) have been married for 5 years. My mother-in-law, let's call her Tiffany, has never really been fond of me. I didn't understand why for a while, and assumed I was misreading the vibes, until we got engaged. She immediately told me she always thought he would marry a blonde, like her and his younger sister -let's call her Ella . I'm half Latinx, and this was the first of several comments she made that showed that she didn't approve of that. That's just a tiny context for the following tea:
My husband and I had a little girl together a little over 2 years ago. She's adorable and wonderful in pretty much every way - and I'm not just saying that because she's mine. She potty trained herself, she's always been ahead milestone wise, she slept through the night at 6 weeks, and everywhere we go people talk about how beautiful she is. Even as a 2 year old, we have minimal tantrums - she's just a sweet, great kid, all credit to her - she just came that way. But, Tiffany tries to claim credit for anything and everything good about her, and blames anything "wrong" with her on me and my "mystery" genetics. One of those things is her food allergy. Our girl has a SEVERE allergy to eggs. Think what you typically hear about with nuts, but eggs. Contact reactions, anaphylaxis, the whole 9 yards. We found out about this allergy not long after she started eating solid food, so it's not new news to Tiffany and her family, but them being careful about it has been an absolute non-stop battle, and she has made every possible effort to blame it on me, my parenting, or my genetics (for the record, neither of our families have a history of food allergies - it was a total fluke).
Most recently, we went to visit for a weekend (why we still even do this at all is a whole other post's worth of info), and because I was hesitant to do so with the history we have had, Tiffany swore up and down that she would have an egg-free kitchen so it would be safe to prepare food for our daughter. I didn't trust it, but my husband begged me to give her a chance, so I agreed. First thing when we arrived, she informed me she had "forgotten" to throw her eggs away, and asked if she should just take them to a neighbor. I told her she didn't have to do that, as long as they were in a sealed container in the fridge, unbroken, it would be fine. She said they were, but my alarm bells were going off like crazy. We ate out with them that night, and I ran my usual checks with the restaurant, no problem. It seemed to annoy everyone else at the table, but whatever, the restaurant was super kind and accommodating.
Fast forward to the following morning. Ella, who is pregnant, and her husband Josh arrived for breakfast after a supposedly intense workout. We got there from our hotel shortly after them (no continental breakfast unfortunately). As we walk in, Tiffany says "Oh, by the way, I put eggs in the pancakes, so those won't be for you, but you can eat whatever you can find that doesn't have eggs in it." I just stared a bit shocked, because I knew I had told her before that most pancake mix contains powdered egg, which can be really dangerous if our daughter breathes it in. And not only did she use a pancake mix that had eggs in it, but also had added additional eggs (this is what I figured out by inspecting the kitchen).
So, I pick up my daughter so that she can't touch anything that might hurt her and start looking around the kitchen for something she and I can safely eat. I generally avoid eggs too because I don't want to risk the cross contact, unless I'm in a space I can fully control. I find us some fruit and yogurt, and we sit down in the dining room. The table is small, so there's not much space to put food down, without it being a little too close for comfort to everyone else's egg filled pancakes, but I try to be careful to keep the peace. As we are eating, Tiffany begins cooking again in the kitchen. I assume she is making more pancakes or something and ignore it. Ella and Josh, who are sitting across from us, have not even quite finished their pancakes when Tiffany brings in a heaping platter of scrambled eggs and sets them on the table directly in front of us. She says, without looking at me "here you go dear, I know you need all the protein you can get to grow that sweet grandbaby of mine! Plus, Josh just had a big workout, so he'll need the extra protein too." They happily thank her for the food and start dishing up, so I stand up, grab my daughter, and walk out of the room, and explain to my daughter that we can't go in the kitchen or dining room anymore because it's not safe for her. She's had enough reactions that she is aware of how sick eggs make her, and she is really careful as long as she's aware that she's not in a safe space. Tiffany walks past in a huff, clearly offended that I've told my daughter that grandma's house isn't safe.
The rest of the trip she continued to make passive aggressive remarks about her allergy, and how no one told her she needed to be accomodating, shoving ingredient labels in my face and demanding I read them because she doesn't want to get her glasses, or saying that if I hadn't introduced her to eggs so early, she wouldn't be so allergic in the first place (all her doctors say the opposite). My husband thinks she didn't intend to do anything dangerous, and was just thinking about her pregnant daughter. I argued that she clearly knew what she did was wrong, otherwise she wouldn't have promised an egg free kitchen in the first place, and that forgetting to check a label is one thing, but actively adding eggs to the food and making scrambled eggs is another thing entirely. I also didn't expect her to accommodate - she is the one that promised she would, and on the advice of my husband I gave her a chance to do so. I wish there was a more satisfying conclusion to this, but it has more or less remained unresolved. Advice is appreciatedđŤ . BUT, that is my story of my "Breakfast at Tiffany's" from hell.

2024.05.21 21:14 orangeyouglad__ SebDerm and Antihistamines?
Hi there!
For a little context iâm very sensitive to everything. Lots of allergies, random rashes, swollen lymph nodes, and other mysterious health issues. Sensitive to changes in hormones, routine, environment, etc. itâs annoying as hell. anyway:
Iâve been dealing with an itchy, inflamed, stinky scalp for the longest time. I have very good hygiene and have tried everything pretty much every active ingredient you can think of, OTC, rX, AVC, etc. It flares up/gets worse (as does my eczeme) when iâm about to get my period, stressed, or if im getting sick. Thereâs times itâs so bad I canât sleep and have to shower in the middle of the night to soothe it. and i can smell it on myself and it drives me crazy.
hereâs the weird plot twist though: the smell, itching, and even oiliness???? is controlled when i take an anti-histamine. i get spring allergies, (shocker!) and on days id take an allergy pill id notice significant improvement in my scalp. what does this mean??? also, i should add ive tried many different shampoos (medicated, sensitive, baby, etc) and im more allergic to some than others, but when im using a shampoo im not irritated by during use, the discomfort doesnât start until hours after washing, so i donât think its an allergic reaction. plus, i donât think that would explain the smell/oil/even inflammation over.
has anyone else had a similar issue? pls help đŠľ

- Irritation (nervousness, low blood sugar)
- Heart Flutters (arrhythmias)
- High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)

2024.05.21 20:25 silverxraine Best wet food for seniors?
Hi all! My baby just turned 11 and after a checkup at the vet, she had gained a bit of weight and they could hear a bit of crackling in her joints. They suggested putting her on senior specific food to help with the weight gain (which in turn should help with the joint crackling and her overall activeness). Does anyone have any suggestions for good senior wet foods? For reference:
She's been eating
Blue Buffalo Tastefuls (Tuna) for many years. Blue Buffalo does have a senior formula, but it only comes in a
chicken pate flavor. She much prefers tuna to chicken and she's also not big on pate wet food - she much prefers the slices. I'm hesitant about trying this due to both of these factors.
I know a lot of subpar senior food reduces protein content which is the opposite of what should be done when feeding senior cats, so I'm looking for a good formula with a nice balance of everything.
Other alternatives I'm considering:
- Tiki Cat Silver - I've heard a lot of good things about Tiki Cat. It's a bit expensive and even though I know my cat would trade me for a chicken nugget, I'm happy to spend money on quality food if it improves her overall health
- Royal Canin Aging 12+ - I have my reservations about Royal Canin in general, but it would seem that this food provides joint support which I think couldn't hurt since she's experiencing some joint problems. My main concern lies with ingredient quality and overall nutritional content.
- Purina Pro Plan 11+ - I have my reservations about Purina as well. This is what my mom feeds our other cats and they've never really had any issues with it, but I worry about some of the ingredients listed and whether they're actually needed/beneficial to a senior cat's health. If anyone has any insight that would be great.
I've also heard good things about Weruva, but it doesn't look like they have a senior formula. Does anyone have any suggestions or insights into the above brands or even other brands of senior wet food? I just want whatever is best/healthiest for my old lady. Tyia!

2024.05.21 19:31 Skinsoothesolutions **The Essentials of a Skincare Routine
**
Taking care of your skin is vital for maintaining its health, appearance, and overall well-being. A good skincare routine helps protect your skin from environmental damage, slows down the signs of aging, and addresses specific skin concerns. Hereâs a guide to building an effective skincare regimen.
1. Know Your Skin Type
Before selecting products, understand your skin type: - Normal: Balanced, neither too oily nor too dry. - Oily: Excess oil production, prone to acne and enlarged pores. - Dry: Lacks moisture, can be flaky or rough. - Combination: Oily in some areas (typically the T-zone) and dry in others. - Sensitive: Easily irritated, prone to redness and reactions.
2. Basic Skincare Steps
Cleansing: Remove dirt, oil, and makeup with a gentle cleanser suited for your skin type. Cleansing twice a day prevents clogged pores and breakouts.
Exfoliating: Exfoliate 1-2 times a week to remove dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover and a smoother complexion. Choose a chemical exfoliant (like AHAs or BHAs) or a gentle physical exfoliant.
Toning: Toners help balance your skinâs pH and can provide additional hydration or exfoliation depending on the ingredients. Apply after cleansing.
Moisturizing: Hydration is crucial for all skin types. Use a moisturizer that matches your skinâs needs to maintain a healthy moisture barrier.
Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily to protect against harmful UV rays, which can cause premature aging and increase the risk of skin cancer.
3. Targeted Treatments
Address specific skin concerns with targeted treatments: - Serums: Packed with active ingredients, serums can target issues like wrinkles, dark spots, or dehydration. - Spot Treatments: Use these for acne or hyperpigmentation, applying directly to affected areas. - Eye Creams: These are formulated to address the delicate skin around the eyes, helping with puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines.
4. Lifestyle and Skincare
Healthy skin isnât just about products. Consider these lifestyle tips: - Diet: Eat a balanced diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and healthy fats. - Hydration: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. - Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep to allow your skin to repair and regenerate. - Stress Management: Chronic stress can exacerbate skin issues. Practice relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, or deep breathing.
5. Regular Dermatologist Visits
Regular check-ups with a dermatologist can help catch potential issues early and tailor a skincare routine to your specific needs. They can also provide professional treatments for more stubborn concerns.
By following these guidelines and paying attention to your skinâs unique needs, you can achieve a healthy, radiant complexion. Remember, consistency is key to any skincare routine!

2024.05.21 18:59 ydash13 Can changing min and fin brands cause a change in progress and more shedding?
Pretty much what it says on the tin. Using manual all-in-one min, fin and biotin, but recently got lonitab as can get it cheaper and moved up to 5mg per day. This means taking fin separately. Started mixing it up so I can use my Manual pills but have noticed shedding over recent weeks and hair looks thinner where it was quite thick. Do you think mixing the brands makes a difference? I know it shouldnât as itâs all about the active ingredients butâŚ.

***Lily***
âStupid gnome prejudice. I may not be the biggest fan of gnomes but, just because we are small doesnât mean we canât cause some damage.â Mogsten says as he walks over, kicks the fishman, and picks up the horn and dusts it off. âIâm hesitant to admit this since, when he regains consciousness, he will do what he could to ruin my business even more but, still, thank you Wabbajack.â He says.
âDonât mention it Mogsten, this guyâs haggling game was all over the place.â Wabbajack responds.
âIndeed, he has no understanding of value.â Mogsten says with a smirk on his face.
âWell, unless he knew that you had about another sixty of those in the back that is.â Wabbajack says as he chuckles.
Mogsten quickly turns around as he says, âShh. Thatâs a trade secret.â He then lets out an âoh ho hoâ chuckle. He then looks down and yells, âGourdsten! Clean up!â
Just like that, Gourdsten comes out from the back and drags the body off. Soon after the body disappears towards the back, Gourdsten reappears with a spray bottle, gloves, and a sponge.
âWhat happened to him?â I ask Mogsten.
âDonât worry, I canât afford a bloody reputation. He is just in stasis until the authorities get here.â Mogsten answers with.
âStasis?â I ask.
âShe really is new to all this huh? Stasis is basically freezing someone in a state of time. In this state however, while nothing can happen to them, they canât function. Depending on the state they are in when they go under, they may be aware of the environment around them. Sometimes, certain criminals may undergo such punishment for their crimes.â Mogsten explains, looking at Wabbajack for some reason.
Mogsten then looks at me and asks, âSo, did you find all the ingredients?â
I nod my head.
He then rubs his temple as he asks, âAnd you Really intend to go through with this?â
âThereâs no other option!â I exclaim.
âWell, there are quite a few, just that they would take a LOT longer.â Wabbajack points out.
I look at him in annoyance and he responds with, âWhat? Just saying.â
I sigh and look at Mogsten and hand him the âingredientsâ.
âLetâs see what we have. A fur scarf, a pistol, a lantern that looks like a child tried to make it, a⌠rubber duck. And what the world is this?â Mogsten asks pulling out the leg.
âItâs a prosthetic leg for a dragon-sized crocodile. Well, a smaller scale version at the very least.â I explain.
âWho would put a prosthetic leg on a Dragon-sized crocodile?â he asks.
âRight?â I ask in return.
He then looks back at the leg, strokes his fake beard, and says, âWell, when you put it like that, makes sense you would want to use it as an ingredient.â He then looks back at me and asks, âAre these the ingredients that you Really want to use?â
âThey fit the descriptions that you gave me.â I point out.
He then looks at the ingredients again and says, âYes⌠this may actually work then.â
âCome again?â I ask him.
âWell, one of the Biggest reasons, after that whole dark nature I mentioned, that this fails is that people try to influence their familiar by using ingredients that donât inspire these feelings.â He explains.
âBecause of this disconnection between the host and the familiar, that may also cause the familiar to go berserk as well.â Wabbajack then explains.
âExactly!â Mogsten exclaims as he points towards to Wabbajack. He then looks back to me and asks, âWith that in mind, are you one-Hundred percent sure that these ingredients are correct?â
I nod again and explain, âI can explain my reasons if you want.â
âNo. As long as you are certain, then follow me to the back.â He says as he picks everything up again and starts waddling towards the back.
âWould you like some help?â I ask.
âNo, I have to prepare everything anyways so itâs best I handle most things from here.â He explains.
Wabbajack walks past me but, I notice he is holding his banjo-thing upside-down. But, its neck is awfully long. Long enough to reach the ground and have the base be about level to his head. Which is pretty impressive since he is not that much taller than me. I want to ask about it but, I figured that is better left for later. Besides, I could probably guess that it can switch between a staff and an instrument. So, I shrug and follow them towards the back.
As I pass the flaps, I let out an audible, âWowâ because the room is massive! There is so much stock in here. I would have never guessed it from the gypsy-sized tent I see from the outside.
I guess Mogsten hears me as he says while putting the items in a pattern, âSpatial compression spell. Itâs like that bag you are probably holding. Itâs a pocket of space that you can mess with everything as long as itâs registered to you. Any merchant worth his salt at least attempts to lessen the target on his store to wannabe burglars. For example, there was a tannery that was completely torn apart for scrap. I hear the owner left it unattended And unlocked. I hope he can recover from that, itâs a pretty costly mistake.â
I look off towards the side and say, âOh, I hear he is doing alright. Hehe.â
He pulls out a spray can and says while he shakes it, âThatâs good.â He then starts spraying the ground.
I look over towards Wabbajack, who is standing sideways towards the thing Mogsten is working on. He has his free hand about chest level, fingers-spread, and it looks like he has a weird circle thing again like when I think I have seen him do before when he casted magic. Like when he summoned that ghost thing. I guess he is on guard duty.
I look back at Mogsten and see he is about halfway done at this point. He works fast since the design is very intricate. Now that I think about it, it looks like that circle Wabbajack has but⌠different. I think I remember reading about this. These must be magic circles. While they look similar, they must be different since each magic circle represents something different. Kinda like snowflakes. I canât help but ask, âWhatâs that you are spraying to make that magic circle?â
âAh, someone has been studying. Itâs a mixture of compounds for creating the familiar summoning circle. I kept a few around just in case that someone managed to convince me to do this.â He explains. He then stands up and shakes it some more as he says, âI thought it was unlikely but, a smart businessman looks at every opportunity.â He then goes back to spraying and says, âNow, no offense, but mind letting me focus? I got to make sure I get this perfect. I want to lessen the margin of error as much as possible.â
âOh! Sure. Sorry.â I say. Now that I think about it, I look towards my bag and think about what he said, âLike my bag.â I open it and it looks like a normal bag. Either it needs to be activated or it doesnât have that spell yet. Iâll have to ask about that after we are done.
âBefore I forget, leave your bandolier and bag over by Wabbajack there. We donât want to add unnecessary items to the circle.â Mogsten says as he shakes the can again.
âOh! Alright!â I respond. I take off my bandolier and put it down by Wabbajack.
âDonât worry. If worse comes to worse, Iâll protect you. And come whatever may, weâll figure out what to do next.â Wabbajack says.
I feel a little relief hearing him say that. Next thing I know, Gourdsten runs up to me with a simple white robe. âOh, whatâs this?â I ask.
âItâs a robe.â Wabbajack says.
As I look at him, annoyed, Gourdsten says, âRobe! Wear Robe!â
Mogsten then explains, âYouâll have to take off the rest of your gear as well and wear just that robe. Like I said, No unnecessary items. Only simple clothes.â
I look at the robe and say, âOh⌠There is a changing room, right?â
âThis way! Here, here!â Gourdsten says as he pulls my arm.
âAlright! Calm down.â I say.
I follow him to a wooden stall. âI guess I change in there, huh?â I ask.
âYes! Correct!â Gourdsten says.
I sigh and open it up, step inside and change. Afterwards, after I step out in the robe, Gourdsten then says, âShoes! Too!â
I look down and sigh. I then ask, âCan that wait till we get back?â
âShoes! Shoes! He repeats.
I then puff my face in annoyance as I sit down and take off my shoes. âHappy?â I ask.
He just jumps up and down and starts walking back.
All I can think is that itâs a good thing that the floor is at least wooden. I then get up, grab my stuff, and chase after him.
As we get back, Mogsten appears out of nowhere and points behind him as he says, âCircle is done. All that is left is the blood of the subject.â
âYouâre not going to slit my wrists, are you?â I ask with a meek chuckle.
âHeavenâs no!â He says as he pulls out a syringe. He then grabs my wrist under these large sleeves and asks, âOn three. Ready?â
I nervously nod my head. Just as he opens his mouth, I quickly say, âWait! Why do we need blood again?â Trying to delay the inevitable.
He looks at me and explains, âA familiar is an extension of yourself. Quite literally. In order to cement that bond, it needs the blood of the host. That bond will allow you and your familiar to share experiences but, still allow autonomy for individual thought. You can live without it but, for it to retain its presence, it needs you alive.â
âFascinating. Mind going into more detail?â I say with a weak smile.
He then stabs the syringe into my wrist as he says, âNo.â
âOw!â I yelp.
Just like that, he pulls the syringe out and empties it out into a bowl. âAlright, here you go.â He says as he hands me the bowl.
As I stare into a small bowl of my own blood, I ask, âWhat am I supposed to do with this?â
âNow, You stand at the center of the circle. As I activate the circle, the blood will start sloshing around in that bowl. Do NOT let a SINGLE drop fall out until the last item is floating. When the last item does start floating, pour the blood in the center and take four steps back. Got it?â he explains.
I look over back to the circle and then look back to Mogsten and repeat, âDonât let it spill until the last object starts floating. When it does, pour it all out and take four steps back, right?â
He nods and says, âCorrect.â I think I then hear him mumble, âI canât believe I was convinced to do this.â As he walks away.
I then take my place at the center of the circle. I am somewhat trembling at this point.
âAre you sure, you want to do this?â Mogsten asks again.
âJust do it already!â I yell back.
He lets out a sigh and starts mouthing something as he levels out his arms towards me.
I could feel the energy around me shifting and moving. I start seeing the objects that were placed start floating one by one. Slowly but surely. I then look down at the bowl and it is sloshing around. So far, not too bad. Around the time the fourth object starts floating, the blood really starts flying around to the point I have to actually adjust to make sure it doesnât go flying out.
After a few more minutes the last object starts flying up. As soon as it stops moving, I pour the blood and take four steps back. The blood stops midair and forms a bubbling ball. It then rises up about level to my face. It stops bubbling and then a flash of blinding light envelops the room and I try to shield my eyes.
After a minute, I slowly open my eyes and lower my arms. What I see before me is something pretty weird.
Itâs in the shape of a sphere with a detached fox tail. The floating tail matches the fur of the body of the âfamiliarâ, I guess. Its fur is a golden yellow with a white tip. The body looks like it has a line down the middle, with Very sharp fangs from the top row. It has fox ears and tiny fox paws and a fox nose. Itâs got lines for eyes? Either that or they are just closed. Between its ears, it has a lantern dangling from a line, kinda like an angler fish. The other side of that line looks like white gator leather and it has two tiny gator feet. As it yawns, I guess, it opens its massive mouth, showing all its fangs, top and bottom rows, and stretches its fox paws, revealing some nasty looking barbed claws. Itâs only as tall as, from the floor, up to my knee.

2024.05.21 18:33 Tubalcain422 Rheumatoid-ish Arthritis post-Covid 2 years in
I had long covid lasting about 10 months. Syncope, brain fog, severe chest pain, shortness of breath, palpations that would wake me up at night, unable to walk stairs, etc. I've gotten over most of it, but the arthritis has persisted almost 2 years now, and it's getting worse.
Over the last month I've lost the ability to play guitar or piano without taking Aleve a few hours prior. I can't do silly stuff like open chips or food packaging. It hurts to drive, to type, to write, to dress. I have a strange weakness and heaviness in my hands. I snapped my fingers last night because was talking animatedly and it brought tears to my eyes. It's worse in the morning, and if I can get moving I can some days overcome it, but others -- if I overdo it, it snowballs until a rage where it spreads to larger joints, my hands feel huge and useless. Yet, I don't really get warm, red angry joints like my wife (officially diagnosed) does.
Last rheumatologist visit (Jan) they told me I did have some elevated factors, but it wasn't conclusive. This is what they typically see with early RA, and told me to schedule return appt when it started affecting my daily activity. It is now. I'm taking Aleve and Ibuprofen daily, diet changes don't seem to really help.
What are they going to do? It's not clear to me what my options are. Don't get me wrong this is bad, but it's not so bad I want to get on steroids or start TNF inhibitors but I can't live like this daily. My dad has deafness from taking Naproxen/Aleve for two weeks straight -- I don't want that.

2024.05.21 18:09 yikesbrothatswack Advantage vs zodiac
Hi! I know vets generally advise getting flea and tick preventatives at the vet, but in regard to over the counter Iâm wondering what the difference is between Advantage and zodiac? I know zodiac has formulas that only kill adult fleas or only eggs, but their infestop2 and advantage2 for dogs literally have the exact same active ingredients but advantage costs nearly double?
Thank you!

2024.05.21 18:02 elliott_AA Can you tell me why I am not proud of this? I need feedback.
Just like my previous samples of email copy, I need feedback on this.
The product is called Java Burn and really popular on ClickBank. The problem is that it is not scientifically backed. It also has a lot of negative reviews on Amazon and YouTube.
I wanted to know how you feel about selling a product that does not seem like a good product. Since this is the first time I've felt this way, you can tell that my attempt to write this email might also look half-assed.
Another thing, about the subject line, is RAS. It stands for Reticular Activation System which I learned about in the book, Web Copy That Sells. Look it up, the subject line follows the principle of RAS.
All constructive criticism is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Here's the copy:-
Subject:- This will get rid of your stubborn fat.
Hi, [NAME].
Have you ever dreaded stepping on a weighing scale because you feared the number staring back at you?

2024.05.21 17:43 BlueFishcake Sexy Steampunk Babes: Chapter Twenty Seven
William was just about to scoop another mouthful of porridge and berries into his mouth when someone scooted into the seat next to him.
âMarline.â He inclined his head before returning to breakfast.
A breakfast that, prior to his teammateâs arrival, had been blissfully free of noise or interruption.
Which made sense given that the ârise and shineâ bell wasnât going to ring for another thirty minutes or so. To that end, the cafeteria was near empty, but for a few servants flitting around the place as they set tables or partook of their own breakfasts.
Breakfasts that were something of a step down from what was normally served at these tables, given that the usual heaped piles of hot sausages, crisp bacon and hearty eggs were still being prepared in the kitchens.
Still, on this occasion, that was fine by William. Sure, the main reason heâd told his team to rise a little earlier than normal was to allow them to dine in peace without being harassed by the rest of the rumour hungry student body, but it was also useful in that it somewhat limited some of his more⌠difficult teammateâs breakfast options.
âWilliam,â the dark elf hissed as she leaned down. âWe have a problem.â
Despite his early morning lethargy, those words managed to send something akin to a shiver up his spine.
âWhat!? Whatâs the problem?â he asked as he whirled around, remembering only at the last minute to keep his voice down.
Sure, the cafeteria was relatively empty of both staff and students, but it hadnât escaped his notice that pretty much all of them had had their eyes on him since he sat down.
âWhat do you mean, âwhatâs the problem?ââ Marline whispered furiously into his ear. âThe fucking alchemy lab blew up last night.â
âOh, that.â Sheâd gotten him all worked up for nothing. âSomeoneâs enchantment probably went awry after being kept in storage too long.â
That was a lie and they both knew it. Heâd explained to Marline in great detail why trying to gain access to his storage room was a poor idea without him present. To that end, it was obvious that someone had attempted just that.
As such, the old alchemy building was now a smouldering ruin, with dozens of academy guards and at least one member of the palace guard sifting through the rubble when he walked past.
Or at least, theyâd been watching over a dozen menial servants as
they sifted through the rubble.
Still, no one had been too alarmed by it. It was hardly the first time the building had been destroyed after all.
Alchemy was by its nature a fairly dangerous art.
A form of homeopathic magic that attempted to imbue objects with magical abilities by combining them with conceptually similar items, it tended to both be prohibitively expensive and notoriously unreliable.
Left eyes from forty-year-old salamanders didnât grow on trees after all. Nor testicles from albino bulls in heat. And that was the kind of specificity one needed to create a half-decent stamina potion.
There was a reason that alchemy was gradually being phased out in favour of the slower but more reliable art of enchanting.
âYes, very unfortunate,â Marline said through gritted teeth. âBut what about âourâ ingredients that were being kept in the building. It might be⌠dangerous of someone stumbled across them in the rubble.â
Dangerous? Gunpower couldnât explode more thanâŚ
âOh, youâre talking about the gift we were holding for your family?â He realized.
âYes!â
âWhy didnât you check last night?â he asked.
â...I tend to wear earplugs when I sleep,â Marline admitted reluctantly. âGiven⌠Verity.â
William glanced towards the young womanâs long elven ears and thought about their orcish teammateâs tendency to snore like she was trying to wake the dead. The inner walls of their dorm werenât particularly thick and Marlineâs room was right next to the other girlâs.
Yeah, he could see why she might have invested in some hearing protection.
A decent set of earplugs wouldnât drown out the noise of the morning bell, but theyâd be more than capable of drowning out the distant whumph of an alchemy lab going up on the opposite side of the campus.
He momentarily wondered if the noise had caused any of his other teammates to get up, before dismissing the idea.
Strange noises in the middle of the night were far from unusual in a military academy and usually best ignored unless you had a very good reason to think they might involve you.
âWell, itâs not a problem,â he whispered. âI moved it last night before heading back to the dorm.â
The look of relief on the dark elfâs face was palpable, before it gave way to confusion. âWhy?â
He shrugged. âFor the same reason I booby-trapped the storage room in the first place. Once it got out that I had a mithril core â and might have had something to do with AlâHundraâs death, well it seemed like there was a decent chance someone might go snooping around places I might want to hide something.â
And the alchemy lab was just about the first place someone would think of right after their teamâs dorm room.
Fortunately for him, there were a few places that were quite impractical for hiding something long-term, but pretty ideal in the short term.
And just so long as Marlineâs aunts arrived before next Welday, the mithril core would be safe.
Though as he gazed down at the bowl of porridge in front of him, he found his appetite wasnât quite what it had been just a few moments ago.
âSo whereâd you hide it?â Marline asked excitedly, clearly relieved that her familyâs future wasnât currently buried in rubble.
William paused as he considered how to answer that question. Something his teammate was quick to notice.
âWilliam,â she prompted. âWhereâs my familyâs core?â
He gazed down at his bowl, still thinking.
âWilliam!â she shouted as best she could while still whispering.
âThe safest place I could think of. Somewhere itâd be covered completely and no one would voluntarily look.â
âVoluntarily?â Marline said. âCovered?â
Credit where credit was due, no one had ever accused his teammate of being slow on the uptake. At least, where politics wasnât concerned. So it was that it wasnât long before he witnessed her expression morph from confusion to horror⌠to rage.
âYou buried my familyâs mithril core in the latrines?!â she hissed.
William scratched his chin awkwardly as he avoided her furious gaze. âMore like dropped. I didnât need to bury it because it sank on its own. Which is good given I wasnât quite sure of the relative buoyancy of mithril in⌠well⌠you know.â
In his defence, it had seemed like a good idea at the time. Indeed, if one were to be purely objective about the whole thing, it still was. The core was safely hidden at the bottom of one of the lesser used latrine pits. The bottom mounted⌠storage vats of which were pulled out and emptied into the bay once a week.
It was a fairly old fashioned system, given the existence of indoor plumbing across the rest of the academy. Indeed, he suspected the latrines were only kept around to serve as a form of punishment duty for any cadets that happened to royally piss off their instructors.
âTheyâll be safe there until Welday,â William argued weakly. âAt which point your aunts can collect them without anyone being the wiser.â
âCollect them from the latrineâs storage vats!â Marline hissed, slamming her head into the table. âAncestors, the future of our house is now literally swimming in shit.â
Gingerly, William moved to pat the dark elf on the back. âAh, but at least itâs safe.â
Once more he glanced away as two silver eyes peeked out angrily from between the girlâs arms.
Needless to say, he was rather glad for the eventual arrival of the rest of their team â even if Bonnlyn chose to complain at length about the fact that she was going to be forced to dine on âtwigs and berriesâ â as opposed to the gut busting pile of vaguely food shaped grease she normally chose to partake of in a morning.
Still, at least Marline had stopped glaring at him by the time theyâd all finished eating â escaping just before the first of their fellow cadets piled noisily into the cafeteria.
It was actually rather amusing, that for all that the coming match had obvious implications for the country as a whole, in theory it was simply another practice match between two groups of cadets.
To that end, there was no great ceremony as the members of Team Seven made their way through the double doors leading to the Floats. There, as per usual, stood the members of the opposing team along with an Instructor from a âneutralâ house.
Never mind that the great bleachers to each side of the faux-ships were filled with eager spectators when they were normally all-but bare. Or that not one of the viewing orbs bolted to the gantries overhead was bereft of the ambient glow that signified they were in use.
Half the noble houses in the country were likely watching the events that were about to unfold through those crystalline orbs. Though William had to wonder if the Queen was one of them or if she was present in person, simply hidden behind whatever magic she used to render herself and her guards invisible.
Still, as he gazed upon the spectacle around them, William couldnât help but be reminded of just how impressive a construction the Floats were, the stadium sized building hosting not just the ships that made up the field, but room for spectators, viewing orbs, staff and a myriad other smaller facilities that each worked to allow the practice matches to occur.
With that in mind, one notable absence from the buildingâs usual occupants was hard to miss.
âWhere are all the sailors and marines?â Olzenya asked.
âI donât know,â William said as they continued walking towards Tala and her team. âMaybe theyâre already onboard?â
He doubted it though. Heâd have been able to see people moving about inside the great vessels or marching across the deck.
No, something was amiss here.
Still, heâd known there was a possibility of House Blackstone attempting something. And the absence of the Floatâs usual staff was likely to be related.
Nothing for it now, he thought. Whatever theyâve done canât be too overt.
The Principal of the Academy might have been in New Havenâs pocket â which made her an ally of House Blackstone â but even her power had limits with the Crown and half the country watching.
âMaâam,â William said as he came to a stop before the Instructor from House Summerfield. âTeam Seven reporting.â
Instructor Halfin, ironically the woman whoâd first introduced his team to the floats glowered at him.
âI donât like this,â she said without preamble, her voice raised loudly enough that it was clear she was aiming her words not just at him, but Tala and the rest of the world besides. âThe Academy and the Floats are supposed to be a training environment for the future leadership of the nation as a whole. Not a pissing ground for idiotic adolescents.â
âI didnât choose the venue, maâam.â Even as she spoke, Talaâs gaze stayed on William.
âAnd I didnât ask your opinion, cadet.â Halfinâs words were biting as she turned towards the third-year. âThe only opinion that matters here is mine. Not yours. Not his. Not your mummyâs. And not the rest of these upjumped cretins.â
Her hand flew out to encompass the veritable circus that were the stands. âSo, with that in mind you can believe me when I say that my only concern is getting through this farce as efficiently and as fairly as possible. I donât give a shit about whatâs on the line or who doesnât want to marry who. All that matters to me is whether or not you have wax or paint on your breastplate or enough harpy-venom in your system to put you down for the count.â
Both Talaâs and Williamâs eyes widened a little at that.
âWax, maâam? Paint?â Tala said.
The older woman grunted. âYou heard me, and thatâs all Iâll say on the matter. Let it be known Iâm not happy about it. Nor about the fact that half the sailors on base have apparently come down with the shits.â
Ah, so that was why the floatâs usual crew was missing. Clearly the work of House Blackstone, though to what end William was yet unsure.
Are they trying to delay the match? He thought.
That wouldnât be ideal for a number of reasons â most of which centred around it giving House Blackstone more time to sabotage him and his team. Thereâd been a damn good reason he chose to have their match literally a day after he challenged her.
âThis has naturally affected my ability to run a normal Float match. Normally that would be grounds for delaying this whole farce,â Halfin continued, tone darkening as she spoke the next few words. âBut it has been âsuggestedâ to me by a number of parties that doing so would be impractical. So, we shall instead be making use of one of the scenarios available to us that does not require the use of regular crewmembers.â
She gestured towards the area between the two faux ships, the football field sized stretch of land normally empty but for a few overhead nets designed to catch falling cadets.
That wasnât the case today. Instead, the area had been filled with a tangled mess of pre-fabricated structures and various other bits of paraphernalia.
âAirship down,â the Instructor said, and after a momentâs observation, William realized that the stretch of land really did look like what you might have seen if an airship crashed into it.
Assuming said airship crashed with enough force to scatter its component parts around rather than remain as a fairly battered single object. Which, given the heights said ships could drop from, wasnât beyond the realm of possibility.
âOur third year cadets will be familiar with this scenario, but I will explain it briefly for our first years.â Again, there was no mistaking just how unhappy Halfin was with all of this. âIn short, an allied or enemy airship has crashed in neutral territory. Both sides of the conflict have dispatched a mage strike team to search the wreckage for the shipâs core so as to deny it to the enemy. Unfortunately, neither side can effectively search said wreckage until the other strike team has been completely eliminated.â
Halfinâs gaze turned towards his team. âTo clarify, do not let the flavor text of this scenario fool you. There is no core within the wreckage in this scenario. The only way to win is to completely eliminate the opposing team.â
Over the womanâs shoulder, William didnât miss the small smile that flitted across his fianceeâs features.
Ah, so thatâs her game, he thought.
Oh, he didnât doubt she would have preferred this whole engagement be delayed so as to allow her more time to stack the deck, but on short notice simply changing the scenario to this still helped her.
Theoretically.
It reduced the number of âwild cardâ factors that might benefit him or his team. No crew members. No orbs to collect. Just a straight up fight between the two teams.
Sure, said wild cards could have just as easily worked in Talaâs favour, but given the skill disparity between the two groups, it benefited her to reduce the number of random vectors present in the coming fight.
Plus, it also had his team attempting to navigate an unfamiliar scenario.
Well played, he thought.
âAny issue with that, cadets?â Halfin said as she finished her explanation.
âNone at all,â William said before the rest of his team could interrupt, noting the small pout of disappointment that flitted across Talaâs face.
Sheâd probably wanted him to kick up a fuss and force the match to be delayed for the reasons heâd thought of before.
Alas, she wasnât that lucky.
No, for better or for worse this was happening here and now.
Sure, it wasnât an ideal scenario, but he could make it work for him. It simply required him to pull out another trick that heâd been hoping to hold onto for just a little while longer.
Amusingly, Halfin also looked a little disappointed. The woman had probably wanted the match delayed on principle. It was clear both his new weapon and Talaâs interference rubbed her the wrong way.
Though as he had the thought, he was pleasantly surprised to see there was at least one woman in the academy who placed her duty as an educator and impartial judge above politics.
Indeed, if she had a reputation for such, that was likely part of the reason why sheâd been selected for this match as a compromise between the Crown and the Blackstones.
âWell, if thatâs all, then youâve got ten minutes to check out your weapons and get to your starting positions.â Halfin grunted, before she seemed to remember something. âAnd I suppose Iâll take possession of the âbetâ now.â
There was no missing the disdain in the womanâs voice, which actually made William feel a bit better as he gestured over to Verity.
Unslinging the backpack sheâd carried all the way over, the girl still looked more than a little awed as she unveiled the glowing metal orb. It was actually a little amusing, the mixture of relief and reluctance that crossed her features as she handed it over to the Instructor.
An instructor who was apparently not entirely carved from stone, as she somewhat reverently accepted the object.
Even the distant stands hushed down a bit as the bowling ball sized core changed hands.
Of course, it was barely a second before the moment was interrupted.
âOf course youâd have the orc carry it,â Tala grunted, her tone resigned.
Verity flinched back at the words and every other member of his team â including Olzenya leaned forward to argue â but William forestalled them all with a simple raised hand.
âOf course I did,â he said simply. âSheâs a valuable member of my team and I trust her. Far more than certain other individuals present.â
A core could also be deceptively heavy despite its ability to produce lighter than air aether and he had no real desire to carry it all the way across campus. It also went unsaid that Verity was best equipped to intercept any⌠opportunistic thieves.
Indeed, heâd have paid to see some enterprising moron attempt to wrestle the bag holding the core off his orcish teammate on the walk over here.
It hadnât happened of course, the possibility had always been an outlier at best, but given the stakes it had seemed better to err on the side of caution.
âŚIt had also been amusing to see the myriad emotions that had flashed across the faces of most of the team when he quite casually tossed the bag holding the core to the orc. One would almost think heâd just thrown a baby at her.
Indeed, the only one whoâd not been affected had been Marline, whoâd just looked quietly resigned.
Which was still fun in its own way.
It was a little childish perhaps coming from a man âhis ageâ, but that same age was what gave him the experience to know that sometimes life was about being a little silly and enjoying the small things.
And what better silly fun was there than teasing a bunch of far too serious kids by throwing around a basically indestructible ball of magical space metal?
Of course, given the flash of irritation that shot across Talaâs face, it was clear she thought his smile was an accompaniment to his taunt.
However, before she could say anything, Halfin scooped up the core. âWell, Iâll be holding onto this until the match is over. At which point I shall hand it to whomever I deem to be the victor.â For just a moment, her expression softened. âYou can rest assured, both of you, that I shanât let it out of my sight or off my person for the duration of the match. This I swear â even if Iâm irritated at this whole situation.â
William and Tala both nodded, accepting the solemness of the womanâs impromptu oath.
âAlright,â she said, slinging the thing under her arm as she returned to her previous acerbic personality. âYouâve got ten minutes to collect your weapons and be at your designated spots for the beginning of the match. Anyone not in the correct place at the correct time will be considered eliminated for the purposes of this match. Dismissed.â
With her bit said, she strode away, no doubt up to the judges tower - which had an eagleâs eye view of the entire arena.
Leaving two teams of rather combative cadets behind.
Ten minutes was more than enough time to collect their gear, so William allowed himself a few seconds to simply gaze at Talaâs team.
âFinally realizing how outclassed you are, William?â Tala sneered.
It was funny, normally that kind of open disdain was beneath her. Sure, sheâd yelled at him before, but to his mind that was more of an expression of frustration than animosity.
Here and now though?
She hated him.
And he revelled in it.
Not because he hated her. He didnât. Even if they were enemies. At worst heâd say he pitied her for her ignorance and worldview.
Much like him and his otherworldly views, she was a product of her environment.
She wasnât evil. At least not in an intentional sense. Indeed, by the standards of this world she was actually a good person.
Loyal. Dutiful. Hardworking.
Simply in service to an institution that he abhorred.
With that in mind, the reason why he relished in her disdain was simple.
It meant that he was now worthy of it in her mind. No longer an irritating non-factor that refused to play along, his actions now had consequences.
Heâd earned her animosity honestly.
He was a factor. A person.
It felt good.
âJust counting the numbers,â he said. âSome part of me wondered if you might be a team member or two short.â
Indeed, the fact that heâd hoped for the murder of a young man or woman last night was something he counted amongst the least of his sins. Thereâd be a great many more of those to come.
Still, ignorant of his thoughts, the girl stiffened, all but confirming his suspicions as her mind no doubt turned towards last nightâs explosion.
It had been her people whoâd tried to raid his alchemy storage room â though it seemed sheâd not been so foolish as to send anyone on her team to accomplish the job. In all likelihood the unfortunate fools whoâd run afoul of his trap had likely been little more than paid off servants or some other kind of catspaw.
Irrelevant in the scheme of things ultimately and chosen for that very reason. Unfortunate, but hoping that his enemy would be a teammate or two down had ever been a long shot.
âIâve no idea what youâre talking about,â Tala said. âMy teammates are all ready and eager to serve not only me, but to honour their family names as well through that service. Though I know thatâs a concept most alien to you.â
Around her, four other members of the girls team stood up a little straight, animosity burning in their gaze as they silently regarded his team with disdain.
Disdain his own team was quite happy to level back â if only out of loyalty to him.
Still, it was funny; Tala was more right than she knew. The values of this world were in many ways alien to him despite having lived here for nearly two decades.
âI suppose youâre right,â he chuckled. âTo that end, Iâll see you in the arena.â
He took a moment to enjoy the look of puzzlement on his foeâs face at his placid rejoinder, before he strode away, his team falling in behind him.
Though as he walked, he made sure to turn to each of them. âMake sure to double check all of our equipment. If Tala was able to give half the Float staff food poisoning last night, I wouldnât put it past her to be able to tamper with our equipment.â
Each of the girls nodded seriously at his words, no doubt leery of discovering a razor blade or some other such implement in one of their boots. Or that their bolt-bow had a faulty intake valve.
Indeed, the only piece of equipment William could theoretically have been sure of was that which he was currently wearing and the spell-bolts that would have been delivered clandestinely at the last minute by either Griffith or a palace guard.
And even then, what the fuck is this about wax and paint rather than rubber? He thought.

2024.05.21 17:03 FriendlyFlan2691 Topical Solution Mix: Stemoxydine, RU-58841, Alfatradiol, and Tretinoin - Feasibility and Potential Interactions?
Hey everyone,
I've been considering mixing several topical treatments into a single solution, specifically:
- Stemoxydine
- RU-58841
- Alfatradiol
- Tretinoin
I came across this idea in a Haircafe video and am curious about its feasibility. Are there any interactions between these active ingredients that could reduce their effectiveness? For instance, I read somewhere that combining Stemoxydine and Minoxidil can make Minoxidil less effective. Would similar issues arise with this combination?

Anyone else used to feed their cat(s) Deli-Cat kibbles before they disappeared one day from shelves??? I read that Purina discontinued them in 2019 â some folks were still able to find them in 2020 until all were sold out. Just seeing this pail bucket alone is straight up nostalgia. My cat doesnât like his dry food the same way anymore.
Any idea why itâs discontinued? Too much food coloring, âfillersâ?

2024.05.21 16:41 mister_damage A Curiosity (not) Review: Kavalan Highball
| A Curiosity. I'm traveling to Korea and then to Taiwan in about a day. The last couple of days, I noticed a number of highballs, both imported and domestic. One of the most interesting ones? The Kavalan Highball Soda. Pair that with a cup of ball ice and you have a decently refreshing way of enjoying/winding down a day of hectic activities. Not a review but just notes, since it's only punching in at 5% ABV. Ingredients are Carbonated Water, Kavalan Whiskey, Sugar (disappointing), and Citric Acid. Nose is quite light. Some citrus if I really tried. Very light on the palate with some sweetness thanks to the added sugar and finish is citrus. If you think long and hard about it, you might dig out some tropical sweetness and tartness, but it takes too much work for a 5% ABV that ultimately isn't worthwhile. It's a light drink and not meant to be dug in deep, I think. For the entire combo, it's $4.50 at your local GS25 convenience store. If they carry it, that is. And for that, I think it's worth a drink if you find yourself in South Korea and don't want to pay an outrageous sums for a decent bottle of Whiskey. No grade since this isn't a whiskey, but interesting nonetheless. Cheers. submitted by mister_damage to worldwhisky [link] [comments] |
2024.05.21 16:40 Positive-Low-7447 How many different weed killing products can I use on my lawn?
I have cool season grasses. Currently I'm spraying speedzone in the spring and tenacity in the fall.
My question is, can I spray a third weed killer with a different active ingredient and avoid any turf issues?
I do my front and back yard at different times so I avoid any worry with my dog and children. I recently tried a weed and feed product on the back yard and do not want to use it again for the front.

2024.05.21 15:52 figure_sk8 Safe House (GMMTV) Day 3, Part 2/2 Summary/Rough Translation [Potential Spoilers]
Hi everyone,
Here's the summary for the second half of Day 3 of Safe House. There were also quite a few talking-based activities today, and I directly transcribed a bit more this time, especially during the cooking competition, because a lot was happening so I wanted all the funny exchanges to be translated. Hope you guys enjoy!
Video Link:
https://www.youtube.com/live/cjn8w8j06ik?feature=shared - They're having a jam session when we join
- 3:45 Neo and Luke are improvising a song about all the guys. I'll just translate the lyrics that Luke sings in Thai because he also sings in English a bit too. When you hear Neo talking/singing, he's trying to translate what Luke is singing, but sometimes he's a little off.
- Mix: "can be good but also bad. Likes to eat a lot with Pond"
- Phuwin: (sings in English)
- Pond: (sings in English) "Everyone knows that he always wants to eat rice with Thai omelette (extra salty)"
- Neo: "He's probably the most annoying in the house, but he's also cute. He loves annoying everyone a lot, especially Earth. That's the kind of person he is. He plays guitar really well."
- Khaotung: "I like how he likes similar things as me. I like how he plays darts with me. I like how he also wins games like me."
- (pause while they laugh)
- 6:30 Earth: "Everyone who's watching this livestream knows that he likes to wear this red sweatshirt." (pause because Neo needs to think of what to play) "Red shirt, red shirt, has nice stuff in his hair" (then sings in English) (pause because of Neo's mistranslation) "Actually, he should be the best in the house, but right now he has the lowest score. But that's alright, because there's lots of time for him to win more games."
- Gun: "Yellow shirt, like the Sang Sang that he's the presenter of. He's really tiny, but his smile is huge. He's also very good-looking and the nicest in the house" (then Luke says something a bit funny but rude, which makes Gun get up and try to push a pillow in Luke's face)
- 9:50 Mix and Gun go to the kitchen. The others realise that they can watch the footage of the kitchen from the TV.
- 10:45 Neo and Khaotung consider improvising a song for Luke since he didn't get to sing about himself, but Luke declines.
- 12:15 PD asks everyone to assemble in the kitchen. She makes a notification sound before speaking so that the guys don't get startled, which they appreciate
- 13:20 Medal competition sponsored by Sea Me Now. Gun reads the rules. They will divide themselves into two teams. Each team will send two members to prepare "yum" (a type of Thai salad served at room temperature, often involving some kind of noodles like glass noodles) within 15 minutes, using the seafood from Sea Me Now. Meanwhile, the remaining 4 guys will wait in another room until the dishes are ready, and they will come and blindly taste the dishes and vote on which dish is better. Winning team gets one medal each.
- 16:00 PD asks the teams which member each thinks is the best cook in the team. Phuwin is the best of the left team, and the right-hand team are undecided between Gun and Khaotung. At 17:30 PD asks which member from each group is the worst at cooking. The guys start to figure out that PD is going to pair the best cook with the worst cook, so the right-hand team try to blag that Khaotung and Gun don't know how to cook that well after all. At 18:30, Neo is the only one who hasn't caught on to PD's plan, so he raises his hand to indicate that he's the worst cook on that team because he thinks it means he won't have to cook. Final cooking teams are Phuwin/Neo and Gun/Pond. The rest go to wait in the play zone.
- 21:00 Phuwin has only just realised that they are required to make "yum," which he doesn't know how to make. He mistakenly thought they could make whatever they wanted. Gun is also not confident.
- 23:00 Cooking timer begins. Both teams decide to use the salmon. Phuwin/Neo decide they're going to leave their salmon raw. Pond asks Gun if they're going to leave theirs raw too, and Phuwin accuses him of copying them. Gun decides they're going to lightly blanch their salmon.
- 28:00 Neo goes to look for a food processor. Gun asks if he can process enough chilis for both teams, and Neo initially jokingly declines, but then agrees.
- 30:15 Phuwin asks Neo to make the glass noodles. Neo isn't sure how to prepare them, and Phuwin guesses that they're supposed to just put them briefly in boiling water (which is correct)
- 31:30 We cut to the play zone where the tasting teams do a light brand plug for Sea Me Now. They teach Luke a new word that basically means "great." (I guess it's kind of like "sick" in English how the actual definition of the word is different, but it's slang when used in context). Mix is confident that Gun/Pond are going to make the better dish.
- 37:00 PD announces one minute remaining, and that "the customers are complaining." Gun/Pond finish with some time to spare and present their dish to the camera, but Phuwin/Neo finish a little late (but it's fine; there will be no penalty. PD just keeps rushing them to finish)
- 40:30 PD asks the teams to write the names of their respective dishes on the mini boards provided. Pond originally writes a name that indirectly reveals that he and Gun made that dish, and PD says that the names can't have any hints of who made which dish.
- 43:30 PD asks the teams to pose with their respective dishes, and invites the audience to screenshot and caption them. Gun/Pond's dish translates to, "Definitely delicious; try it and see," and Phuwin/Neo's dish (roughly) translates to, "Just making a 'yum,' but don't know how to make it" (It's a rhyme/pun in Thai)
- 44:30 Cooking teams leave the kitchen and go sit in the living room so they can watch the tasting on the TV. PD warns them not to cheat while the teams are changing rooms.
- 47:15, the tasting team goes to the kitchen. They each get 3 ping pong balls with which they can vote. Phuwin/Neo's dish is the white side, and Gun/Pond's is the blue side. The votes can be cast by dropping the balls into the coloured containers corresponding to the dishes.
- 48:00 It is immediately obvious to all of them immediately which team made which dish. Transcription starting from 48:20:
- Earth: "Why don't we start by judging the presentation before we taste?"
- Mix: "Looking at these two dishes, this one (blue) is definitely wins."
- Earth (trying to help his team): "I think I'm going to go with this one (white). Listen, none of us know which dish was made by which team..."
- Luke: "But we have theories."
- Mix: "I just want to know in what way this (white) dish could possibly be more beautiful than that (blue) dish."
- (pause while they think of some nonsense) Luke: "The vegetables. They just look so nice. And there are so many of them."
- Earth: "I'm giving it to this team (white)."
- Luke: "Me too."
- (audio cuts out for a few seconds)
- Mix is saying "The truth?!" to implore Earth and Luke to admit the truth, but they stick to their decisions
- Luke: "It's my personal opinion. I'm not changing."
- 49:55 Mix comes up to the camera and mouths, "There are cheaters here."
- Earth and Luke say, "Who knows? This plate could have been made by anyone."
- 50:15 Mix: "Okay, let's move on to the flavour." They taste Phuwin/Neo's first.
- Earth: "I hear laughing outside. Who's laughing?"
- 51:00 Luke: "Very good."
- Earth looks at Luke. Luke: "It's actually good. It suits my palate."
- Mix: "I mean, it's alright. It's not bad. The salmon and imitation crab are good. They taste really fresh. But the noodles are awkwardly super cold. Like, is this bamee yen (a cold noodle dish)? Also, there's just something not right. It's sour, and it's like trying to be spicy but not spicy, trying to be salty but not salty. It's not balanced. What do you think, Earth?"
- Earth: "I'll give it to you honestly."
- Mix: (puts his hand on Earth's shoulder and looks into his eyes) "Yes, give it to us honestly."
- Earth: "Okay, honestly, I like the raw ingredients. I like that the imitation crab meat is in large chunks. But..."
- Mix: "Look, he's talking about the raw ingredients. He's not even talking about the flavour of the dish."
- Earth: "The flavour is like how Mix described. And honestly, it's sour. It's so sour. Uncomfortably sour. Like, too sour. Can I have some water?"
- 52:40 Luke: "I really like how there are lots of vegetables here. That means that dish is really healthy for you. If you ask me if I can eat the other dish, I can eat it, but it won't be as healthy as this dish."
- Earth: "Oh, okay, so he's talking about the health value of the dish."
- Mix: "But we're talking about the flavour of the dish, here, no?"
- Luke: "I'm a person who doesn't like eating things too spicy. (uses the vocab word he learned earlier) So I like that this one is a good balance. It's not too spicy for me.
- 53:35 Earth looks at Luke and says, "Is it not too sour? I think you've already helped our team a lot here."
- Luke: "No, I don't think so. I honestly think it's good. But we haven't tried the other dish."
- Earth: "That's true. Different people have different flavour preferences. Some like super sour, for example. And if those people also don't like spicy food, this dish is for them."
- 54:05 They ask for Khaotung's review. He pauses and then quietly says, "Um... Sour. It's sour."
- Mix: "How about between the words 'delicious' and 'not delicious'?"
- Khaotung: "Well, I can definitely eat it. But it's super sour. It's not well-rounded."
- 54:35 They move on to taste Gun/Pond's dish. Mix comes to the camera and enthusiastically whispers, "It's SO good!"
- 55:15 Earth: "I like the creativity of this team. The salmon was raw, but this team lightly blanched the fish so that the inside is still raw, which adds a lot of layers to the flavours and textures of the dish. I like it."
- Mix: "Can I speak extendedly? It's SO good. It's amazing. It's well-rounded, yummy, the textures are amazing, and it's easy to see that the person who made it really knows how to cook. I'm pretty sure I know who made it." Khaotung agrees.
- 56:40 Luke decides to still vote for the white dish because the second dish is a bit too spicy for him. Earth sees that there's no way that the white dish can win anymore, so he puts his last ball into the white container anyway.
- 58:00 More brand plugging for Sea Me Now
- 59:45 PD calls the cooking teams back to the kitchen to announce the results.
- 1:00:35 Luke says to Phuwin/Neo: "I tried, guys." Neo says, "I love this guy. He said the truth straight from his heart." Earth says that he tried to say the truth too. Neo complains that he was working with so many ingredients he had no idea how to use. I was just putting everything in randomly. Mix asks who did the seasoning/flavouring, and Neo said, "Me, but we didn't have time to taste it because we ran out of time."
- 1:02:00 The cooking teams try each other's dishes (and Phuwin/Neo try their own dish for the first time too). Neo tries Gun/Pond's dish. Earth immediately feeds him a huge bite of his own dish. Neo pauses and says, "It seems like it's missing something." Mix and Earth say, "Not something. Many things. Like deliciousness." Earth feeds some to Phuwin, and he also doesn't like it.
- 1:02:45 Neo looks at Earth and says, "You did the right thing." (in reference to criticising this dish and voting for the other one). Earth says, "So you understand me now?!"
- Neo makes fun of how Gun was previously dramatic about not knowing how to make "yum." Gun says that he truly wasn't sure, and Neo feeds Gun some of Phuwin/Neo's dish saying, "See? This is what it means to truly not know what you're doing." Gun's eyes water while eating it, and he says, "It's so sour," and goes to hug Neo and Phuwin.
- 1:04:00 More brand plugging for Sea Me Now
- 1:05:00 Neo says that he's glad that there's at least someone (Luke) who enjoys eating his food. He then realises that Luke has only been eating the seafood and the vegetables, none of which have been flavoured/seasoned. Luke then takes a bite of the noodles to appease him.
- 1:06:00 Seafood lunch. Menu includes (professionally-made) "yum" with salmon and imitation crab topped with salmon roe; oysters with a seafood sauce; scallops fried with garlic, salt, and pepper; and grilled salmon steaks
- 1:17:45 Khaotung and Mix go to the kitchen to make some more food with the fresh seafood they have
- 1:19:15 Luke asks Earth why he's sitting so far away from him, and Neo turns it into a pun about Earth wanting scissors ("sitting far away" sounds a bit similar to "looking for scissors")
- 1:21:10 This is Pond's first time trying mashed potatoes. Luke and Phuwin explain what they are to him and explain that in some Western countries, they eat less rice than they do in Asia, so sometimes they eat potatoes as the starch (a lot of the dishes for this meal were prepared in a Western way)
- 1:22:30 Neo teaches them Isan slang that a more polite phrase to basically say, "BS-ing." They also mention the Central equivalent of the phrase. They ask Luke what an equivalent in English would be, but Luke can only think of "BS-ing," so he says that he can't say it out loud. He eventually goes with "spinning stuff." Neo says that he feels like English doesn't have as many rude/swearing words as Thai does, and Earth makes a joke that he wouldn't be surprised if Neo's name was rude in English.
- 1:23:55 They like how Luke seems especially giggly today, so they try to keep him laughing. Neo says a Thai phrase/idiom that basically means that he's not even being funny to his full capacity right now, then Earth and Phuwin give some sarcastic remarks that are like playful insults to Neo, which Luke continues laughing at.
- 1:26:00 Phuwin and Gun join Mix and Khaotung in the kitchen to cook some more seafood. They're prepping some salmon, scallops, and oysters. Gun wants to make lightly floured and pan-fried tofu.
- 1:27:30 The guys at the table are joking to Luke that it's Thai culture to be polite to people, but then the closer you get to them, the more you insult them. You start the insults behind their back, but then you can eventually insult them to their face (it's not technically false, especially for some friend groups, but the way they were explaining it is a bit too much, hahaha). Then they demonstrate that, actually, the best thing to do is to be polite to someone's face, and then behind their back, you compliment them again.
- 1:29:00 They exchange the English and Thai versions of the phrase "fishing for compliments"
- 1:32:20 Luke is trying to tell the story of why he came to Thailand, but he's still in his giggly mood. He wanted to be an actor in the US, but he was scouted from IG to come and be a model in Thailand, so he arranged to come for 3 months, but he liked it, so he stayed.
- 1:34:10 They mention that they're glad they have Neo in the house because otherwise it would be so much quieter and less entertaining.
- 1:40:15 Gun brings the tofu for the guys at the table to try. They struggle a bit because it's still very hot, but they approve.
- 1:43:45 The guys at the table talk about ventriloquists. Luke explains how in the US, ventriloquism can either be creepy or funny depending on the act, but in Thailand it tends to mostly be creepy. They start discussing some related film/series plots.
- 1:59:30 Pond, Neo, and Luke dance a bit for the cameras
- 2:01:00 Relaxing time. Mix presents the dish he made to the camera: spaghetti pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with scallops, crab, and salmon roe. He brings it to the living room for everyone else to try.
- 2:08:40 Some language lessons. Phuwin and Luke ask Neo some questions for him to answer in English. They also ask Luke some questions in Thai. They try to ask Neo and Luke to speak English and Thai (respectively) for two minutes each, language exam-style.
- 2:13:50 PD asks the losing team from the last game to go wash dishes. They say that the sink area is small, so two people will wash at a time.
- 2:36:05 Earth drops and breaks a dish. Earth tells a story about how when he was very young, he hated washing dishes, so sometimes he would secretly break some dirty dishes behind his house so he wouldn't have to clean as many. Eventually his mother started wondering where all the dishes were disappearing to, but she just kept buying more
- 2:41:15 PD asks for someone to wake Gun (who's napping on the sofa) and assemble in the area in front of the medal board for the next medal game. She asks Mix "the one with many medals" and Earth "the one with hardly any medals" to take the lead in reading the rules. Earth is offended, but PD says, "Earth, you have to accept the truth."
- 2:42:40 Game sponsored by Super Coffee. They will divide into two teams. King of the Day chooses the pairs that will compete together. Each person in the pair will wear a sumo costume with a bag of Super Coffee attached to their back. Whoever is the first to successfully remove the bag of coffee from their opponent's back wins that round, and their team is awarded one point in the game. Once all the pairs have competed, the winners will compete to determine the final winner. Winning team gets one medal each. The rules say nothing about singing or having dancing breaks during each match, but the guys do so anyway.
- 3:21:20 PD asks everyone to change into swimming clothes and meet at the pool. Phuwin has to study, so he won't join for the next activity.
- 3:39:00 Neo reads the directions. They're going to play the Werewolf (ma paa) game. Between the 7 of them, they will randomly get assigned roles: 2 werewolves (who can kill people), 1 bodyguard (who can choose someone to protect from death each round), 1 seer (who can privately uncover the identity of one other player each round), 1 hunter (who, if they are killed, can choose one other person they suspect of being a werewolf to die with them), and 2 villagers. PD will be the narratoreferee. The game is basically between the werewolves and everyone else. Each round, in order, the narrator will instruct the werewolves to choose someone to kill, then the bodyguard to choose someone to protect, then the seer to privately uncover the identity of one other player. Then everyone must talk and decide on one person to kill out of suspicion of being a werewolf. If both werewolves are killed, the common people win. If there's at least one werewolf left at the end of the game, the werewolves win.
- [PD is a very dramatic and colourful narrator, which is why everyone is reacting to most of her lines throughout the game. Werewolf in Thai is "ma paa" and villagetownsperson is "chao baan," to help you guys understand what's going on. All the other roles are called in English, although sometimes they call the bodyguard "moh" which means doctor]
- 3:45:30 First game: Werewolves=Gun/Earth, Bodyguard=Neo, Seer=Khaotung, Hunter=Mix
- First round: No one dies
- Second round: Pond dies. They vote to kill Khaotung
- 4:04:45 Third round: No one dies. Neo says that Mix is a common person because he saved this round. They vote to kill Earth
- 4:13:30 Fourth round: Neo dies. They vote to kill Gun. Common people win.
- 4:19:00 Second game. They're no longer allowed to say whether they saved someone or not. Werewolves=Khaotung/Mix, Bodyguard=Gun, Seer=Luke, Hunter=Pond
- First round: Earth dies. They know someone is lying because too many people are claiming to be villagers. They think they should believe Neo because he was so honest last round. They vote to kill Khaotung.
- 4:34:10 Second round: Pond dies and choses to kill Mix with him. Common people win.
- 4:37:50 PD asks them to vote on the best and worst liar. They aren't sure yet, but Khaotung is voted the worst liar. Punishment is cleaning one of the bathrooms tomorrow.
- 4:41:15 Relaxing time. Neo gets thrown in the pool.
- 5:08:00 Fan talk
- Group 1: It's supposed to be the 4 top scorers on the medal board, but Khaotung is still showering, so Earth goes in his place because he's lowest. Neo did a bit more exercise with Luke this morning. They recap the walking doll game from the morning and how random and unpredictable it was. Mix was bitter that he felt like being King today was more of a burden than Luke's experience the previous day. Luke says it's probably because Mix's Thai is better, so they felt like using him for more jobs/tasks. They recap the cooking competition; Gun/Mix say they were lucky that they were on the team that had several options of people who knew how to cook. They talked about how the judging was biased, but Earth said that at the end, he had to admit the fact that Phuwin/Neo's dish was so sour that he could feel it in his brain. Gun/Mix were glad that they didn't have to wash dishes today because there were so many dishes to wash, and they made fun of Earth breaking the dish. They all enjoyed the sumo game. They started to regret that they started the singing/dancing gag, but they committed to it for entertainment purposes. They agreed that Khaotung is indeed the dark horse because no one expected him to be that quick in the sumo game. Everyone also had fun playing Werewolf.
- 5:18:45 Fan comments: They like how Gun seems like the eldest brother in the house, taking care of everyone. People made fun of Earth's childhood dish-breaking story. (The guys eventually start talking amongst themselves, mainly about how Earth doesn't think he has a chance to win anymore, and they say that there are many more opportunities for medals in the coming days, so anything can happen)
- 5:26:15 Group 2: They talk about how much Pond likes rice with Thai omelette [note: pretty much everyone in Thailand loves it, but Pond feels like eating it all the time], and he likes to make Phuwin make it for him in this house. They're all impressed with how good Khaotung was at the sumo game. Phuwin/Neo explain what happened during the cooking competition: Phuwin usually never eats "yum," but last week, his family made some but he didn't have any, so he regrets not having it so he would have a better idea of how to make it. Neo said he was just randomly putting things in without knowing for sure if they were supposed to go in. They made fun of Neo's dishwashing "technique." They recapped Werewolf, and everyone was unsure whether to trust/believe the things Neo says because he talks rubbish a lot.
- 5:32:45 Fan comments: They mention that this has turned into a pure comedy show. They like how everyone works together and the vibe isn't overly competitive.
- 5:37:00 Late-night meal. Menu includes fried chicken wings, spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti with bacon, sticky rice with pork, sandwich, pizza, more spaghetti, and minced pork wrapped with noodles.
- They feel like today was very full/busy, and they're all feeling tired, but they've had fun.
- 5:47:00 Earth and Neo say that they may not have many medals, but at least they're funny. They get up and try to entertain the rest of the guys.
- 5:52:45 Everyone bids farewell to Gun because it's his last night. Gun says to the audience, "Thank you so much for watching all of us these past three days. I hope you've enjoyed seeing our dynamics in this more relaxed environment. I hope you'll continue watching the rest of the guys for the rest of the days and see what fun is in store."

2024.05.21 15:26 LocalBiDisaster Tested first category: fructose. Symptoms. Now what?
Hey all, I posted here before that I was excited to start reintroduction after finally starting to feel better 2 weeks into low FODMAP elimination phaseâonly to screw it up. I ate a Japanese ginger salad dressing at a sushi restaurant that may have contained garlic, onion, honey, and/or celery, and was violently nauseous/vomited the next morning, but not sure which ingredient was the culprit.
It took days to stop waking up nauseous but yesterday I woke up feeling like the healthiest person alive, so I did the first reintroduction testâfructoseâwith 1 teaspoon of honey in my breakfast oatmeal, to be doubled and then tripled on subsequent days. It sat fine. Breakfast was delicious. I had a normal active appetite all day.
I ate an unaltered low FODMAP meal from Modify Health for lunch, and a low-FODMAP Chipotle bowl (that Iâve eaten throughout elimination without issues) and a Mexican coke (no fructose) for dinner. A little after dinner, my stomach started LOUDLY making bizarre rumbling and churning noises, I started burping a lot, I blamed the carbonated beverage, took a gas pill, and went to bed.
This morning? The second I opened my eyes, nausea, urgent bowel movement, weird churning, smelly farts, no appetite. Thankfully I have zofran and I think it headed off the need to throw up.
What do I do now? Presumably, this means excess fructose is one of the culprits for my IBS. This would actually track because several of the times I've been sick recently were the morning after: 1. an extremely sweet cider alcohol 2. the same meals I'd eaten for days no problem, but more asparagus on the day before sick (very high in fructose) 3. that salad dressing that likely had honey in it
I guess stop reintroducing fructose, wait for my symptoms to subside (at least 3 days,) then test the next category?
Once I am done with all the tests, how can I avoid excess fructose in my regular diet?
Is this the end of me loving fruits like apples and watermelon? Is there any kind of enzyme I could take to still be able to eat fructose sometimes, like how I already know Lactaid helps my lactose intolerance within reason?
Iâm relieved I may finally be finding some answers, but damn, sick after the first day of the first test?! I used to be able to eat fucking Taco Bell and feel nothing. đ

2024.05.21 14:47 cloutboicade_ 10 Foods You Should Never Eat
- Corn - Almost all corn, specifically in the US and Canada is produced by Monsanto seed. This is a man-made corn, which has been genetically modified and/or is a hybrid corn. Itâs been processed. This corn was specifically developed by Monsanto to be fed to cows for them to put on fat quickly and grow fast. The more corn you eat, the fatter you get. Itâs not the original, as nature intended it to be food. It causes allergic reactions to all degrees. Avoid anything with the word corn in it âCorn syrup solidsâ, âhigh fructose corn syrupâ, âcornflowerâ, âcorn starchâ, âcornflakesâ, etc. Look at the ingredients, if it has the word corn then avoid it. Monsanto is an American agricultural biotechnology and agrochemical company that was founded in 1901 by John Francis Queeny in St. Louis, Missouri. The company's products include glyphosate herbicides, crop seeds, and vegetables. Monsanto is best known for its herbicide Roundup, which is based on glyphosate. The company also produces genetically modified seeds, such as those that can tolerate glyphosate, which kills weeds without affecting the crop. What happened to Monsanto? Ethical Consumer
- Artificial Sweeteners - 2 main ones: Aspartame(nutrasweet) & Sucralose. Stay away from these two. These are found in diet sodas. These fall into a category called exito-toxins. They are chemically addictive. Itâs the ânew crackâ. It affects the neuro-transmitter activity and the serotonin levels in your brain. This means these artificial sweeteners make you anxious, stressed, and depressed. They are in any diet product. If you see âno sugarâ, it may be a marketing ploy - they want to convince you it has lower calories and some type of artificial sweetener. You find these. The actual foods or drinks taste horrible, but the aspartame and sucralose make it taste better. Fast food study
- Pork - A pig will eat anything. Scientists now know that whatever the pig eats turns to meat on its bones. The meat you eat puts toxicity in your body.
- Shellfish - More people get sick and/or die from eating âbadâ shellfish than any other food group. Many people are also allergic to it more than any other food group. Shellfish isn't just a fish that comes in a shell like a scallop, mussel, lobster, clam, crab. Itâs any fish in water that does not have scales and fins. Stay away from anything that comes out of the water with no scales and fins. Catfish has fins but no scales, stay away. Squid/Octopus stay away from. These non-scale/fin animals are called âfiltersâ. They absorb whatever toxins that are in the water and they keep that in their flesh, which is eaten. This is also the law of kashra, the kosher laws - pork and shellfish fall into the kosher law category. It states that you can eat anything on the ground that has a split hoof and chews to cut. Which is why you donât eat pork. Also, donât eat anything that doesnât have a split hoof and chews to cut like a bear(has a paw). States you should eat fish with fins and scales. The Kashrut Laws
- Hydrogenated Oils (Trans fats) - Look on the label. It says hydrogenated oil. These scar your arteries and lead to heart attack. It messes with hormones and affects sleep. Makes you hungrier and fatter. Affects immune system.
- Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) - Buy foods that say no GMOâs. The majority of the ingredients have not been modified. With GMO, foods are modified.
- Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) - Falls into the same category as artificial sweeteners, it is an exito-toxin. Messes with neuro-transmitter activity, makes you hungrier, makes you thirsty, makes the body store extra fluid in fat cells making you gain weight, bloady, and fat. It increases fat cells and makes them bigger. KFC, Taco Bell, etc all have this.
- Wheat - If you live in Italy, this doesn't apply. Youdonât want wheat that's come from Canada or USA because it's only been fermented for 48 hours. This is tough because how can you determine that? Duran-wheat means it's from Italy. This is trustworthy. If you can reduce the amount of wheat you consume, youâll be better off because the majority of wheat hasn't been fermented for 48 hours. Its high gluten wheat, causes types of gas, bloating, allergic reactions, weight gain, etc. Make sure all your pasta comes from Italy (Organic product of Italy). If you make your own pasta, buy flour from italy. Same goes for bread in USA.
- Soy - All over the world. Almost all soy now comes from Monsanto seed. Itâs been genetically modified and causes all types of intestinal problems and reduces testosterone. Same with corn, soy is everywhere - âsoybean oilâ. Soy-bean oil is very cheap. Even if itâs organic,it can still be genetically modified.
- Corn-fed beef & anything dairy that doesn't come from grass fed cows - Stay away from homogenized dairy. Cows eat grass. But in the industry, cows are fed Monsanto genetically altered corn to make them fat and get them to the supermarket quicker. Cows don't eat grain in real life, they eat grass. When a cat is fed corn and grain it will get fatter faster. In the commercial feed that's fed to cows, there is ground up dead cows, horses, other animals that were so diseased they couldn't be put into the food chain. But they'll feed it to a cow which is supposed to be a vegetarian only eating grass. This cow gets diseased as well. Those animals were injected with bovine growth hormones and massive amounts of antibiotics. When you eat beef, your testost. score goes down, you put your body in toxic shock, because of the growth hormone, which makes you fatter. These beefs don't have much CLA which is the acid in the beef that increases testosterone. Buy 100% organic grass fed beef and dairy. Buy raw cheese that comes from France or switzerland.
