VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 21, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brixton Metals Corporation (TSX-V: BBB, OTCQB: BBBXF) (the “ Company ” or “ Brixton ”) is pleased to announce that its Thorn exploration camp is now open for the season and drilling has commenced. Brixton is fully funded for the 2024 exploration program with plans to drill test several new copper porphyry targets, including the Trifecta, Cirque, and North Copper Targets, in addition to further drilling at the Camp Creek Porphyry Target. The Thorn Project is situated within the traditional territory of the Tahltan and Taku River Tlingit First Nations.
2024 Thorn Exploration Plan Highlights:
  • The 2024 exploration plan consists of 12,000-17,000 meters of drilling across several target areas, collecting 2500 rock and soil samples, as well as a ~90 sq km ground MT Geophysics survey.
  • Drilling has begun at the Camp Creek Copper Porphyry Target to test for a high-grade copper core to the Camp Creek porphyry. This first hole THN24-286 is being drilled from the same pad as the 2023 hole, THN23-277, where copper abundance as chalcopyrite and quartz vein density are increasing downhole. The bottom 84 meters of hole 277 (957-1041m) returned 0.25% Copper, 0.09 g/t Gold, 3.78 g/t Silver and 142 g/t molybdenum, including 2m of 0.66% copper, 0.24 g/t gold, 12.0 g/t silver from 1032.88m. Hole 277 did not reach its target depth due to poor ground conditions.
  • The second Camp Creek hole is planned as a northwest step out from holes 184 and 201. Hole 184 ended at 1198m in strong copper mineralization with the bottom of the hole returning 318m of 0.42% copper, 0.17 g/t gold, 3.87 g/t silver, and 294 g/t molybdenum, and hole 201 intersected 150m of 0.60% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 5.12 g/t silver and 391 g/t molybdenum. The objective is to test for a high-grade copper core to the Camp Creek porphyry.
  • The Trifecta Copper Target is located 1.5km southeast of Camp Creek and may be drill tested based on recent surface copper-in-rock and soil results and historical drilling, which returned encouraging copper-molybdenum results. The objective of this work is to search for a new porphyry copper center.
  • The Cirque Copper-Molybdenum Target is located 3km east of Camp Creek where drilling will test for a potential new porphyry center.
  • The North Copper Target area is located 15km northwest of Camp Creek, centered on a large surface copper anomaly. Drilling is planned upon completion of the MT survey and additional mapping and sampling with the objective of confirming a new copper porphyry center.
Watch Chairman and CEO, Gary Thompson, provide a summary of the 2024 drill program.
Chairman and CEO Gary R. Thompson stated: “ The Brixton team is excited to kick off the 2024 season. The Company has $12.5 million budgeted for the Thorn Project in exploration expenditures with the focus on new copper-gold porphyry mineralization. The scale of surface copper-gold mineralization is remarkable and Brixton is well positioned to generate new discoveries.”

About Camp Creek Porphyry Target
The original discovery of the Camp Creek Corridor was made by Cominco geologists in 1952 who identified the intense acid sulphate alteration in the area. However, it was not until 2019 when chalcopyrite-molybdenum veined clasts were observed below 400m depth within drill hole 150 on the Oban diatreme breccia which cut 554.70m of 0.57 g/t Au, 0.24% Cu, 43.18 g/t Ag, 0.55% Zn, and 0.28% Pb from 97.00m depth, providing evidence for a porphyry at depth. In addition, A-type porphyry veins were identified from relogging hole 121. Drill hole THN13-121 at the Glenfiddich Zone (located one kilometer west from hole 150) cut 2.21m of 10.62% copper, 583.05 g/t silver, and 2.55 g/t gold from a massive enargite-tetrahedrite-pyrite vein. The copper porphyry at Camp Creek was a blind discovery confirmed in 2021 when holes 183 and 184 were drilled below 1000m. The Camp Creek porphyry-style mineralization generally starts 300-400 meters below the surface level and remains open in all directions including at depth. Hole THN23-261 ended in mineralization at 1650m depth.

Figure 3. Hole THN23-277 photograph of mineralized core at 1032.88m depth from a 2.00m Interval that assayed 0.66% Cu, 112 ppm Mo, 12.0 g/t Ag, 0.24 g/t Au.

About the Trifecta Target
The Trifecta Target lies between the Camp Creek porphyry target, the Outlaw Sediment-hosted Gold Target, and the Chivas Porphyry Target. Surface mineralization is expressed as structurally controlled narrow quartz veining with pyrite and chalcopyrite. A massive magnetite-pyrite-chalcopyrite vein in outcrop with a sericitic halo surrounded by strong silicification was found during the 2023 field program that returned 2.46% Cu, 71.4 g/t Ag, and 0.36 g/t Au. The mineralization style at the Trifecta Target is thought to be related to a copper porphyry at depth.
About the Cirque Target
The Cirque Target area, located 3km northeast from the main Camp Creek drilling, was revisited in 2023, which identified a 1km by 2km northwest trending area of pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization. Historic drilling in the Cirque area by Julian Mining in 1965 intercepted sporadic copper mineralization throughout thirteen holes. The best hole from the 1965 program returned 0.19% Cu and 710 ppm Mo over 10.67m. Quartz-chalcopyrite veins were sampled in the area to the northwest of this historic drilling returned 1.6% copper. Mineralization is hosted primarily in Windy-Table volcanics and associated intrusions. Silica-sericite-pyrite alteration throughout the target area and the widespread pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization in conjunction with favorable magnetic signatures and anomalous porphyry-index indicators suggest that a potential Cu-Mo porphyry system at Cirque remains untested.
About the North Copper Target Area
In the northwest corner of the Thorn Project, the Copper Target comprises a 15km by 5km area located 15km northwest of Camp Creek. Mineralization consists of broad, pervasive zones of disseminated and vein-hosted pyrite with localized areas of chalcopyrite and molybdenite that may represent the periphery of a porphyry system, as well as higher-grade narrow polymetallic vein zones and skarn-style mineralization that are more representative of distal environments.
Widespread mineralization at the main gossan consists of a large area with abundant pyrite, locally up to 15%, and smaller areas of increased chalcopyrite, molybdenite, and magnetite coincident with a quartz-biotite-feldspar porphyry of undetermined age. Copper-molybdenite mineralization is found in quartz veins and as fracture-fill with samples in 2023 returning up to 0.7% Cu and 2,290 ppm Mo. The north gossan is comprised of extensive pyrite with lesser chalcopyrite and distal galena with up to 5% pyrite and trace molybdenite in a hornblende granodiorite directly east of the area. Mineralization at the south gossan is predominantly associated with trace pyrite, chalcopyrite, and magnetite mineralization within a potassium feldspar megacrystic porphyry.
Higher-grade polymetallic mineralization is generally concentrated along the margins of Late Cretaceous dykes with silicified vein breccias extending 5-10 meters into the surrounding Laberge Group country rocks. The breccias are composed of sandstone and conglomerate of the Jurassic Laberge Group with quartz-pyrite-galena-sphalerite and trace sulfosalt and chalcopyrite filling the matrix.
A ground magnetotelluric (MT) geophysical survey of approximately 90 square kilometer in area is planned prior to drilling the King Copper Target.
2024 Gold Targets
While the dominant focus for 2024 at the Thorn Project is to drill test copper porphyry targets for new discovery, the Company continues to review gold targets for drill testing in 2024. These may include selective drilling at the Trapper Epithermal Gold Target (best intercept to date: 64m of 5.7 g/t Au), the Outlaw Sediment-hosted Gold Target (best intercept to date: THN-14-128 returned 59.65 meters of 1.15 g/t Au and 5.64 g/t Ag from a depth of 76 meters) and/or the Metla Target where surface rock grab samples to date returned up to 62.7 g/t Au.
MDRU Collaboration
Brixton Metals is collaborating with the University of British Columbia’s Mineral Deposit Research Unit as part of the BC Porphyry Study. An M.Sc. research project has commenced on the Camp Creek Porphyry Target with the goal of establishing geochemical and alteration vectors towards blind porphyry mineralization. In addition, an alteration mapping project is underway to characterize and map the large 4.1km x 3.9km alteration footprint centered around Camp Creek. With porphyry deposits frequently found in clusters, the use of petrographic, geochemical, and mineral spectrometer analyses will aid with vectoring outside of the currently drilled areas in order to identify additional potential porphyry centers.

🔗Hornady RAPiD Night Guard Safe with RFID Technology and USB Charging

https://preview.redd.it/zbpx4uwukp1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=462c0b28d9c9b171886f5efd55485ee8d209504c
The Hornady RAPiD Safe Night Guard is an impressive blend of style and security. I've been using it for a while now, and I must say I am quite impressed with the product. The tempered glass front panel is sleek and elegant, complementing any bedroom decor.
The patented RFID technology is definitely a game-changer. I love being able to unlock the safe without even touching it, which is ideal when you're in a dark room and don't want to fumble around for your keys or access code. The 4 included RFID tags make it quick and easy to program the safe to open for you and your family.
One of the features that really stands out to me is the two USB-A ports for charging my devices. It's incredibly handy to have a place to charge my phone or other gadgets right next to my bed.
On the downside, I do wish the RFID reader and keypad were a bit more discreet. They're still functional, but they're quite prominent on the front panel. It would be nice if they were hidden away a bit more.
The heavy duty exterior housing and hardened interior locking lugs are a great feature, ensuring that the safe is built to last. However, I do wish there was a bit more padding on the interior for the items inside to prevent any potential scratches or damages.
Overall, I am quite satisfied with the Hornady RAPiD Safe Night Guard. It's a fantastic bedside safe that offers quick and easy access, as well as a place to charge your devices. Definitely worth the investment!

🔗Secure Electronic Floor Safe for Valuables

I recently started using this Union Safe Company 1.51 Cu. ft. Electronic Lock Gun Floor Safe in my home after a friend recommended it to me. The first thing that stood out to me was the heavy-duty construction of the safe, which gives a sense of security just by looking at it. The tamper-proof hinges and heavy-gauge bolts are great features that make it difficult for anyone to break in.
One of the major highlights of the safe is its dual-entry lock, which allows you to enter through a digital keypad and also has a keyed override for emergencies. This extra layer of security is a huge plus and gives me peace of mind knowing that my valuables are well protected.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I've encountered while using this safe. The first issue is that the instructions provided with the safe are not very clear or well-written, making it challenging to set up and program the lock correctly. Another minor inconvenience is that the size of the safe might not be ideal for users with limited space in their home.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I am overall satisfied with the Union Safe Company 1.51 Cu. ft. Electronic Lock Gun Floor Safe. It has proven to be a reliable and secure storage solution for my firearms and other valuable items.

🔗Vaultek Wi-Fi Enabled 8-Gun Biometric Gun Safe

I recently had the opportunity to try out Vaultek's NMXi Wi-Fi High Capacity Rugged Smart Safe, and I was impressed by its durability and advanced features. This safe offers a sleek and modern design that is perfect for any gun enthusiast looking to secure their firearms.
The NMXi safe is constructed of heavy-duty 14-gauge steel housing and a 12-gauge door, providing a robust and reliable exterior. One of the standout features for me was the biometric scanner, which offers a quick and secure way to access your firearms. This safe is equipped with a backlit numeric keypad and manual keys for even more flexibility and convenience.
Another impressive aspect of this safe is its rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which can last up to a month on a single charge. The modular interior, featuring a pull-out height-adjustable shelf and a twin pistol rack, adds to the overall customization and organization of the safe.
While the NMXi Wi-Fi High Capacity Rugged Smart Safe has numerous pros, there are a few cons to consider. One downside is its premium price, which might deter some users. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connectivity could be a bit glitchy at times, but this is something that may improve with future updates.
In summary, the Vaultek NMXi Wi-Fi High Capacity Rugged Smart Safe is a robust and feature-packed safe that offers a seamless and secure experience for gun enthusiasts. Its sleek design, biometric scanner, and modular interior make it a top choice for those looking for a high-quality and customizable option.

When I received the Hornady Fireproof Keypad Safe, I was eager to test its robustness and functionality. As a product reviewer, I had the opportunity to use it in my daily life, and I must say, I was impressed by its features.
Firstly, the 16 gauge steel body construction and 8 gauge steel door of the safe had a lasting impression on me. The durable black powder coat finish added a sleek touch to its overall appearance. The electronic lock with a key backup provided an extra layer of security that I appreciated, especially when using it to store important documents and valuable items.
One of the standout features of this safe was the interior light, which automatically illuminates when opening the safe. It was a thoughtful design choice that allowed me to conveniently access my items without fumbling around in the dark.
The fireproof rating of 30 minutes in up to 1400 degrees F was an impressive feature, but I also noticed that it was not water-resistant, which could be a potential downside for those living in areas with high humidity.
The removable interior shelf offered flexible and secure storage options for a variety of items, from firearms and documents to jewelry and hobby equipment. I particularly enjoyed the protective carpet interior, as it safeguarded my valuables from potential damage.
One downside that I encountered was the low battery warning, which I found a bit annoying at times. It would be great if the alarm system could last a bit longer on a single set of batteries.
Overall, the Hornady Fireproof Keypad Safe was a reliable and durable choice for storing valuable items. With its heavy-duty construction and convenient features, it made a secure addition to my daily life.

🔗Wasatch 24 Gun Fire and Water Safe with Anti-Theft Electronic Lock

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Wasatch 24 Gun Fire and Water Safe with E-Lock 24EGW, and I must say, I was impressed. This fireproof and waterproof safe is perfect for gun enthusiasts who want to protect their precious belongings from potential damage.
One of the most impressive features of this safe is its backlit electronic lock, which comes with an Alarm-U function. The alarm notifies you of any attempted theft, and the backup key provides an extra layer of security. I loved that it offered external hinges, allowing for a full 180-degree opening, making it effortless to access my safe.
The interior door storage and 3-spoke handle design were another bonus that I found extremely useful. Additionally, the safe is equipped with 3 1.5-inch active locking bolts and 2 dead bolts that effectively deter any potential intruders.
However, I did notice that the safe is quite heavy, which can make transportation difficult. The size of the box also seemed to be larger than originally estimated, which was a bit of a hassle.
Overall, my experience with the Wasatch 24 Gun Fire and Water Safe with E-Lock 24EGW has been positive. I feel confident that my valuables are safely guarded, thanks to its impressive fire and water resistance capabilities. While there were a few minor drawbacks, they do not outweigh the fantastic features of this safe.

I've had the opportunity to use the Hornady Security RAPiD Safe in my own home, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. First things first, this safe provides top-notch security with its patented RFID technology. But it's not just a tough exterior, it's also incredibly user-friendly.
What I love most about this safe are the features that make my daily life easier. The neoprene floor mat prevents my guns from slipping around, making storage a breeze. Plus, the convenient digital keypad and backup mechanical key let me easily get to my firearms when I need them.
But just like any product, there were some minor drawbacks. The safe is a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth the investment. And some users may find the digital aspects a bit troublesome, especially if you're not tech-savvy.
Overall, this Hornady Security RAPiD Safe has been an essential addition to my home. It provides peace of mind and convenience, making it a winner in my book. And if you're in the market for a top-quality gun safe with all the bells and whistles, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

🔗Solid Wood Mahogany Mahogany Furniture Clock Safe for Handgun Concealment and Storage

https://preview.redd.it/2c5fbp9xkp1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=438b6ee64b1efd12e7f80a51968ea3c7479e667d
As a gun owner myself, I found the Kraiovim Peace Keeper to be a clever and practical solution for concealing your valuables. The solid wood construction with a rich mahogany stain not only provides an aesthetically pleasing touch, but also ensures that the clock is sturdy and long-lasting.
What caught my attention the most, though, is the reliable quartz movement paired with a magnetically latched, hinged front panel. This feature allows you to safely conceal your gun while still being able to set the time, and it adds an extra layer of security to the overall design.
While it's perfect for its intended purpose, I must admit that I have encountered some minor flaws. It's quite bulky and takes up a lot of space, which might not be ideal for smaller rooms. Additionally, the fact that it's a mass-produced Amazon item might deter buyers who are looking for more unique or locally crafted products.
Overall, the Kraiovim Peace Keeper is a reliable and stylish option for concealing your firearm and other valuable items. Just be prepared to make a few adjustments and compromises for its practicality.

🔗Hiding Place Clock - Mahogany Concealment Gun Safe

https://preview.redd.it/6lu6rhoxkp1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d970a1d20c86ac0be44504e797dea484a0eb9cb
As a gun owner who values security and style, I recently came across the Concealment Clock and decided to give it a try. At first glance, I was skeptical about the functionality of a clock concealing a gun. However, after receiving the product and spending a few days using it, I was pleasantly surprised by its unique and innovative design.
The first thing that caught my attention was the solid and sturdy construction of the clock. It's built with high-quality materials that give it a luxurious, polished look. The high-precision quartz movement is a plus, ensuring that the clock keeps perfect time. The fact that it also includes an analog clock face with Roman numerals adds a classic and elegant touch.
One of the most interesting features is the magnetic latch closure on the front panel, providing a secure way to conceal the compartment for your gun. It's simple yet effective, and the keyhole on the back of the clock ensures that the panel stays closed when not in use.
My experience with the Concealment Clock has only been positive. However, I did encounter a minor issue with the battery compartment. The screws inside needed to be screwed in a little harder for the battery to fit securely. This was only a minor inconvenience, and I was able to solve the problem quickly.
In conclusion, the Concealment Clock offers a stylish and functional way to hide your gun at home or in the office. It's well-built, works perfectly, and even has the added benefit of being a practical and stylish clock. Although the battery compartment faced a minor hiccup, it didn't detract from the overall quality of the product. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with my purchase of the Concealment Clock.

🔗Secure Shotgun Wall Safe with RFID Technology

https://preview.redd.it/xhzbpj9ykp1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4e1635a8561bd0da0a0d45787f7725f47f2eed2
As a gun enthusiast, I recently gave the Hornady Rapid Safe Shotgun by RFID a try in my home. The first thing that stood out to me was its slim design, allowing me to easily store it in tight spaces. However, I wasn't impressed with its small size, as it could only fit my shotgun sideways, making it quite cramped.
One of the unique features of this safe is its RFID technology, which provides touch-free entry using an RFID-enabled wristband, key fob, or sticker. I thought it was pretty cool to be able to unlock the safe with a simple wave of my hand, although it would be even better if it had a backup option in case the batteries ran out.
The construction of the safe appeared solid, with the exterior housing made of 14-gauge steel and two internal hardened locking lugs. However, I found the touch-free entry to be quite loud, which might not be ideal for people who value discretion.
Installation was a breeze, thanks to the pre-drilled mounting holes. I was able to easily install the safe in both horizontal and vertical positions, making it versatile for various storage locations. The fact that it exceeds ASTM International safety standards for child and pry resistance was also a comforting feature.
Overall, the Hornady Rapid Safe Shotgun with RFID has its pros and cons. While the slim design and RFID technology caught my attention, some other aspects, such as the small size and loud entry, were less impressive. Nonetheless, it's a solid choice for anyone looking for a quick-access shotgun safe.

🔗Secure and Stylish Biometric Gun Case

https://preview.redd.it/aqksnpqykp1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a2cf1ac8473cc18398b67873f4275d6af04df6b
As a homeowner with a growing family, I've always been conscious about the safety and security of our household items, especially the ones that are valuable or potentially hazardous to our little ones. That's why I decided to invest in the Stalwart Biometric Desk Mount Gun Safe, and boy, am I glad I did!
One of the first things that struck me about this gun safe is its smart biometric design. With three ways to unlock - fingerprint sensor, a keypad, or a backup key - it offers more than enough flexibility for me to access my weapons quickly and securely. The fingerprint sensor is particularly impressive, granting me quick access to my handgun when I need it most. Additionally, the inclusion of two backup keys ensures I won't be locked out if the electronics fail.
The Stalwart gun safe is not just smart, but also highly durable. Constructed from 14-gauge carbon steel with anti-pry bars and bolstered interior hinges, this safe is designed to withstand even the most determined intruder. What's more, it also comes with anti-impact latches and an impact detection system, which sets off an alarm if the safe is bumped or tampered with. This added layer of security has given me the peace of mind I've been looking for.
However, it's not all perfect with this product. The only issue I've encountered so far is its size. The safe can hold up to two handguns, but for someone like me who also needs to store ammo and other accessories, it can get a little cramped inside. But this is a minor concern, especially when comparing to the numerous benefits this product offers.
In conclusion, the Stalwart Biometric Desk Mount Gun Safe has been an invaluable addition to my home. Its smart design, robust construction, and added security features make it a reliable choice for those looking for a safe and efficient solution to store and access their firearms. Highly recommended!

🔗Concealed Clock for Stealthy Storage

https://preview.redd.it/40dki56zkp1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=717d01332238fc4f8807bc8d2caa7682dc7bfe60
Imagine waking up each morning to a beautifully functional timepiece that also doubles as a secure storage space for your valuable items. That's the experience I've had with the Tactical Walls 1410M Clock Standard - Black, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
The first thing that stands out about this product is its elegant, minimalist design. The sleek black clock blends seamlessly into any room, and the hidden compartments are cleverly concealed behind the clock face. The hidden compartments can hold an assortment of items, from firearms to personal belongings, providing secure storage in plain sight.
One of the key features that I love about this clock is its magnetic lock. It ensures that the compartments stay securely closed, providing peace of mind knowing that my valuables are safe. However, the lock can be a bit tricky to operate at first, but with practice, it becomes second nature.
While I've had a great experience with this Tactical Walls Clock, there are a couple of cons to mention. The first is the size of the clock face, which is a bit smaller than expected. It might not be the best choice for those who are visually impaired or have difficulty seeing small objects.
Another downside is the durability of the product. The clock face and compartments are made of thin plastic, which can be a bit concerning for those who expect a more robust design. I've also noticed that the Velcro holding the clock face in place seems a bit weak, which might result in the clock face coming loose over time.
In conclusion, the Tactical Walls 1410M Clock Standard - Black is a stylish and functional storage solution for those who value both aesthetics and practicality. Despite the small drawbacks, I've had a positive experience with the product and would recommend it to others seeking concealed storage options for their valuable items.

🔗Vaultek Barikade Series 1: Secure, Compact Biometric Gun Safe with 20 Fingerprint Storage

The Vaultek Barikade Series 1 Biometric Safe has been my go-to for secure storage of my handgun and essential documents. The compact design lets me store a handgun up to 8 inches long and other small valuable items, thanks to the built-in lid organizer. The smart Sense digital keypad is a game-changer, requiring only a simple tap for quick access and ease of use. The biometric fingerprint scanner efficiently stores up to 20 fingerprints, ensuring only authorized access.
I appreciate the 18-gauge rugged steel construction and anti-pray reinforced construction, providing enhanced security and peace of mind. The tamper detection and included security cable add an extra layer of protection to keep my valuables safe. One downside I noticed is that the battery life may not be as long as I'd like, but overall, the Vaultek Barikade Series 1 Biometric Safe has been a reliable and practical choice for my daily life.

🔗Vaultek VS20 Smart Safe: Compact, Rugged, and Secure Bluetooth-Compatible Gun Safe

https://preview.redd.it/glsjrsb0lp1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4242b299c1b728ea936153bf703e2dba77dc1603
I recently had the chance to test out the Vaultek VS20 Non-Biometric Smart Safe in my daily life. First off, the Bluetooth 2.0 feature makes it super convenient to manage the safe from my smartphone within its Bluetooth range. Plus, the compact design allows me to securely store my handgun, magazine, passport, and cash, making it travel-friendly and easily mountable.
The heavy-duty 16-gauge carbon steel construction feels extra tough and rugged, ensuring long-lasting protection for my belongings. The automatic opening lid and responsive LED lighting allow for quick access to my valuables at any time, whether it be at night or during the day.
However, there are a few areas that could use improvement. For instance, the battery life could be a bit longer than 6 months under normal use, and the manual keys could be a bit more responsive. Overall, I'm quite happy with this product, and it has definitely made my life easier when it comes to safeguarding my valuable items.

🔗Hornady Rapid Safe WiFi Compact Ready Vault with RFID Technology

https://preview.redd.it/q1y6qdr0lp1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b951dd75cc6880b9cce99512354807b5c73c3479
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Hornady Rapid Safe Compact Ready Vault with WiFi, and it exceeded my expectations in both convenience and security. The built-in RFID technology allowed for lightning-fast access, and the compatibility with the RFID bracelet and key made it even more convenient. However, the heavy-duty steel construction and hardened steel locking mechanism provided unparalleled protection against unauthorized users.
One of the highlights of this product was the user-programmable keypad, which allowed for personalized security codes to be input. Additionally, the SQUARE-LOK organizing system made it easy to store and access my firearms and other essentials. While the WiFi and RFID technology made the experience more streamlined, it also required me to be vigilant about ensuring the safety of my WiFi network.
Overall, the Hornady Rapid Safe Compact Ready Vault with WiFi provided a perfect balance between convenience and security, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable gun safe solution. However, it's essential to consider the potential risks that may arise from the WiFi connectivity and take necessary precautions to protect your valuable items.

Kitchen Countertop Replacement: Materials and Cost Insights

Why Replace Your Kitchen Countertop?

The kitchen countertop is not just a flat surface. It is used for cooking and sometimes for eating. However, as time passes, even the best countertops get damaged. They get stained, chipped, and lose their brightness. So, why is it important to think about a new one?
Firstly, old countertops can contain a lot of bacteria. This is not healthy. Secondly, a damaged countertop makes your kitchen look bad. Nobody wants that. Also, new countertops, like solid surface, are tough and do not get stained. If you want a new kitchen look, think about changing your countertop.

How Often Should You Replace Your Kitchen Countertop?

How often should you change your kitchen countertops? The answer varies based on the material and maintenance. Laminate countertops last 10 to 20 years. Natural stone can last forever with proper care. If you notice tough stains or cracks, consider replacing them. Wanting a new look is another reason to change. New countertops can increase your home’s value. Changing them can be a good financial decision.
Here is a list of expected lifespan of each material:

Countertop Material Estimated Lifespan (Years)
Solid Surface 20 to 40
Laminate 10 to 20
Granite 20 to 50
Quartz 15 to 25
Marble 20+
Stainless Steel 15 to 25
Concrete 20 to 30
Soapstone 20 to 30
Tile 10 to 50
Glass 10 to 20
Slate 20 to 50
Porcelain 15 to 20
Limestone 10 to 20
Travertine 5 to 10
Copper 15 to 30
Recycled Glass 10 to 20

Kitchen Countertop Replacement vs. Renovation

In the realm of kitchen countertop solutions, there are primarily two distinguished approaches: full replacement and meticulous renovation. A full replacement entails the removal of the existing surface, followed by the installation of a new one, often involving a complete shift in materials and design. This strategy is recommended for countertops that have undergone significant wear or damage. Conversely, renovation typically encompasses procedures like resurfacing or resealing, serving as a cost-efficient alternative suitable for countertops in decent condition requiring modernization. The choice between these two methods should be predicated on the countertop’s present condition, financial constraints, and the envisioned end result.

Tips for Countertop Installation for Homeowners

Many homeowners think about DIY countertop installation. But it’s not easy. You can choose from many materials. These include elegant marble countertops and quartzite. You also have durable engineered stone like solid surfaces. Slate countertops are another option. Each slab needs sealing to avoid stains. Grout is used for tiles. Cutouts are made for appliances and faucets.

https://preview.redd.it/mngfa1x2oi1d1.png?width=612&format=png&auto=webp&s=ffdcf40f77f431f1176238303bce93afa6adae70
The size of your kitchen cabinets affects your project’s square footage. Costs are often by square foot or linear foot. Don’t forget to add extra square feet for splashes. The average cost gives you a rough idea. But the exact price can change. Additional factors matter. You might need a professional electrician. Installers may offer a warranty.
In the end, DIY seems good but has risks. Professional installation gives high-quality results. Some materials need special skills. For example, sealing marble or joining Corian needs expertise. Always think about the pros and cons. Consider what your kitchen needs. Make a good choice based on all these factors.

Popular Countertop Materials for Replacement

Countertops are important in kitchens. When changing them, material choice matters. Think about durability, design, and use. What materials are popular now?

Solid Surface

Solid surface countertops are made of 100% aluminum hydroxide and natural minerals. These materials are combined to make a tough and durable countertop. A great feature is that they don’t yellow quickly, so they look new for a long time.
You can cut, drill, and shape them with power tools, and they set in about 2 minutes. They are easy to maintain and repair. Also, they passed the CA65 test, which means they resist stains, chemicals, and bacteria. Because solid surface is non-porous, moisture and air can’t create bacteria. So, it’s a clean choice for your kitchen.

Marble

Marble is a strong and pretty stone used for many things, like buildings and art. Today, many people use marble for kitchen. Why? Because it’s tough and doesn’t get scratches easily. Hot things won’t harm it, and it stays smooth over time. Cleaning it is simple, and it doesn’t need much care. If you drop food or liquid on it, just clean it up. Thinking of a new top for your kitchen? Marble is a good pick. It looks nice, lasts long, and is easy to use every day. With marble, your countertop can look even better.

Quartz

Quartz countertops are basically a mix of quartz crystals and resin. This combo makes them super tough and they don’t stain easily. The best part? You don’t have to seal them like some other stone countertops, so you save on upkeep. They come in all sorts of colors and designs, so you’re bound to find one that vibes with your kitchen. If your kitchen sees a lot of action, quartz is a solid choice because it stands up to daily use without getting all scratched up.

Granite

Granite countertops are made from natural stone and they’re a hit if you’re after a durable, upscale look. They can handle heat, resist scratches, and if you seal them right, they won’t stain easily. But heads up, you’ve got to seal them regularly. Design-wise, each granite piece is like a work of art with its own colors and patterns. So if you’re after a one-of-a-kind countertop that can handle the daily hustle, granite’s your guy.

How Much Does Countertop Replacement Cost?

The cost of countertop replacement can vary widely based on several factors. Here’s a rough estimate of the costs involved:

Material Average Cost per Square Foot
Laminate 20-50
Solid Surface 40-120
Quartz 50-150
Granite 50-200
Marble 50-250
Just heads up, these are ballpark figures. The real deal can change depending on stuff like how tricky the countertop job is, what the workers charge, or if you need extra things done, like sorting out the plumbing or getting a new backsplash.

What to Consider When Budgeting for Countertop Replacement?

When budgeting for a countertop replacement, there are several main factors to consider:
  1. Materials: The biggest chunk of your budget will likely go to materials. Prices can vary a lot, so pick something that fits both your needs and your wallet.
  2. Removal: Taking out the old countertop can be a real hassle and might cost you labor. So, keep that in mind.
  3. Installation: You’ll want pros to install most types of countertops for a polished look. Factor in those labor costs.
  4. Shipping: Heavier stuff like granite or quartz might need special delivery, which can be added to the bill.
  5. Plumbing: Changing the sink too? Don’t forget you’ll have some plumbing costs.
  6. Maintenance: Some materials, like granite, need regular upkeep. Think about those costs down the line.

Why Solid Surface is the Prior Choice for Kitchen Countertop Replacement?

Solid surface countertops are a popular choice for kitchen countertop replacement for several reasons:
  1. Non-porous and dirt-resistant: Solid surface countertops don’t absorb stains, so they’re super easy to clean—ideal for hectic kitchens.
  2. High hardness: These countertops are durable enough to withstand the daily grind of a busy kitchen.
  3. Style-flexible: No matter your kitchen’s aesthetic, from modern to traditional, solid surface countertops can blend right in.
  4. Affordable: They’re generally less expensive than natural stones like granite or marble.
  5. Anti-yellowing: You won’t have to worry about them yellowing over time, so they’ll look good for years.

Conclusion

So, you’re thinking about swapping out that old kitchen countertop, huh? It’s a big move, no doubt. You’ve got to juggle a bunch of stuff like what material to use, how much you’re willing to spend, and who’s gonna install it. Now, if you ask me, solid surface countertops are kinda the MVPs here. They’re tough, they look good in any kitchen, and they won’t too expensive. But hey, it’s all about what works for you and your budget. So, take a moment, weigh your needs and your wallet.

🔗Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring Crossbow Scope: Improved Targeting for Hunting

https://preview.redd.it/h5bajq2cki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84abfbc6b1ce31df3b82ee257f840537498c2c48
Using the Killer Instinct MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope has been quite an experience. The scope has made hunting much more enjoyable for me, thanks to its amazing abilities to lock onto and track moving targets from vast distances.
One of the features that really stood out is the durability of the metal case. This thing has a real tank-like feel to it, resisting impacts and harsh weather as if it was made for it. The spring-loaded covers on the lenses also proved to be quite reliable, keeping the lenses safe and scratchless until I was ready to hunt.
The built-in Speed Ring is another aspect of the scope that has impressed me. Making adjustments for my crossbow's speed has been a breeze, and the illuminated reticle is a big help when it comes to sighting in low-light conditions. I particularly appreciate the contrast the red/blue illumination provides.
However, there was one downside that I found a little disturbing. The scope came in a condition that made it apparent that someone had used it before. I was not happy with this fact, especially considering I had paid for a brand new product.
Overall, the MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope is a product that I would recommend, even with its minor fault. It certainly helped me become a better hunter, and it would do the same for anyone looking to enhance their hunting experience.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope. This black 1021 model was a great addition to my hunting gear, providing exceptional clarity thanks to its multicoated optics and 1-inch mono tube construction. The fast focus eyepiece is a game-changer, allowing me to quickly adjust my sight even when on the move.
One feature that stood out was the illuminated cross-hair reticle, which came in both blue and red. It was perfect for low-light situations, making it easier for me to spot my target. I appreciated the adjustment click value of 0.5 inches at 100 yards, as it gave me accurate and consistent shot adjustments.
However, there were a few downsides to this otherwise great scope. The exit pupil was smaller than I would have liked, making it a bit more challenging to see the cross-hair reticle at times. Additionally, the scope's weight was lighter than expected, which might not have been ideal for everyone.
Overall, I'm happy with my experience using the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope. It's a quality product with some small drawbacks, but its pros certainly outweigh the cons. If you're in the market for a reliable crossbow scope, this one is definitely worth considering.

🔗Compact Variable Multi-Reticle Crossbow Scope for 300-410 fps Shooting

https://preview.redd.it/df8zvaucki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7233e5370b0262af888d76641291526e147c000
As a reviewer who's been using the Dead-Zone Scope from Excalibur, I can confidently say it's a game-changer for crossbow enthusiasts. This 32mm, 1" tube scope offers unparalleled light transmission and clarity that makes it an ideal choice for those who prefer the thrill of hunting. Its variable multi-reticle design suits crossbows shooting in the 300-410 fps range, providing a perfect fit even for experienced hunters.
One of my favorite features is the bold crosshairs, which make it easy to sight in, even for us who don't have the sharpest eyesight. The scope provides a crystal-clear view, which has been essential in my hunting endeavors, hitting the bullseye consistently at 60 yards. Installation was a breeze, and the ease of adjusting the focus makes it a standout product.
However, one thing that could be improved is the set screw. After a little mishap with the speed ring, it's proven to be a bit tricky to tighten back up. Apart from that, I wholeheartedly recommend this Dead-Zone Scope to anyone looking for an accurate and reliable companion on their hunting adventures.

🔗Powerful Dual-Speed Digiscoping Scope with Extra Low Dispersion Lens

https://preview.redd.it/ao6gub7dki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06bc82eb96070c825ec1109ae09626d9312299ba
Recently, I had the chance to get my hands on the Knight PT 72mm f/6.0 Ed-Apo Photography Scope from Snypex. This digiscoping scope was a game changer for my photography, allowing me to capture stunning images with my DSLR camera.
One of the standout features of this scope was the dual speed focuser. It made it incredibly easy to achieve precise focus, even in low-light conditions. The scope's focal length of 432mm and f-stop of f6.0 provided a beautiful and sharp image, which was especially noticeable when using the optional eyepiece.
Moreover, the scope was built to last, with a durable white paint coating on its aluminum housing. The 1/4"-20 tripod mounts at both ends of the shoe made it easy to balance the weight, and the integrated dovetail plate was a handy addition for quick-release heads.
However, I did encounter a minor issue when trying to attain focus on stars. Despite the scope's apochromatic doublet lens, I found that achieving proper focus was a bit challenging. Additionally, while the price was reasonable at $160, I noticed that it was listed for a much higher price on the product website.
Overall, the Knight PT 72mm f/6.0 Ed-Apo Photography Scope from Snypex is a powerful and versatile tool for photography enthusiasts. With a few minor adjustments, it could become an exceptional choice for both digiscoping and spotting scopes.

Bresser See-It Scope HD: A Handy Tool for Exploring the Hidden
Recently, I found myself in a situation where I needed to take a closer look at something in a hard-to-reach place. I grabbed my Bresser See-It Scope HD, set up the flexible coil and bright LED light, and got to work.
One of the most impressive things about this scope is its versatility in navigating tight spaces. The coil is flexible and easy to maneuver, allowing me to explore various angles of the subject. Plus, the bright LED light was a game-changer when it came to illuminating dark areas.
The 2.31-inch LCD screen is large enough to gather a group of friends or coworkers around to view the action together. I appreciate how the digital camera mounted on the coil makes it easy to record video and take photos without having to switch to a different device.
That being said, there were a few downsides to using the Bresser See-It Scope HD. For one, the scope's 1 times magnification might not be enough for those looking for a more detailed view. Additionally, I noticed that the device's image quality wasn't on par with higher-end digital camera options.
Overall, the Bresser See-It Scope HD is a handy tool for those seeking accessibility and illumination in hard-to-reach areas. While its digital camera feature leaves room for improvement, the flexibility and bright LED light make it a worthwhile addition to any toolbox.

Recently, I found myself using the Barska Blackhawk 20-60x60 Spotting Scope, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. As someone who enjoys outdoor activities, this scope proved to be an essential companion.
One of the remarkable features of this scope is its wide variety of models with variable zoom magnifications. It allows me to see objects in greater detail no matter the situation. The multi-coated optics maximize light transmission, resulting in superior brightness and clarity, even during darker hours. In addition, the massive objective lens delivers brighter images in low-light conditions.
The rubber armor offers protection and shock absorption, while its ergonomic design enhances overall handling. Its convenient and good portability is a game-changer for someone like me who loves to explore the outdoors. The spotting scope is perfect for all-weather conditions, and the built-in Porro prism system offers greater depth perception and a wider field of view.
However, one downside I encountered was difficulty achieving clear focus at the highest zoom level. Fortunately, a slight adjustment in focus corrected the issue, and I was able to enjoy the scope's remarkable performance once again.
In conclusion, the Barska Blackhawk 20-60x60 Spotting Scope is a reliable and versatile tool for anyone who appreciates the beauty and detail of the outdoors. Its impressive features, coupled with its budget-friendly price, make it a worthy investment for anyone seeking to enhance their outdoor experiences.

I recently went on a nature trip and decided to bring along the Bresser Spektar 15-45x60 Zoom Spotting Scope. It was quite compact with dimensions of 365 x 80 x 165 mm and only weighed 3.74 lbs, making it easy to pack into my backpack. When I arrived at my destination, I eagerly unpacked this handy spotting scope and eagerly started looking through it.
The first thing that caught my attention about the spotting scope was its versatile magnification range of 15-45x. I didn't have to worry about setting up a tripod as it was conveniently portable. However, it was just as easy to support it by resting it on a parapet, making it even more user-friendly in a variety of settings.
As I started using the spotting scope, I couldn't help but notice the outstanding optics of the Bresser Spektar series. The image clarity was top-notch, and the focus knob was surprisingly precise despite being so compact. Despite some minor flaws, like a slightly darker optics in some instances, the overall value of this spotting scope was highly impressive.
After trying it out at a range of distances and in different light conditions, I was quite impressed and ended up highly recommending this spotting scope, especially for outdoor enthusiasts on a budget, who are still looking for an outstanding, affordable tool for their hobby. Its ability to deliver a crisp visual experience even at high magnifications set it apart from the competitors in the same price range. The spotting scope came with a ready-to-use bag, a user manual, and was available for a store pickup at Walmart, which further added to the convenience of the purchase.
Overall, I found the Bresser Spektar 15-45x60 Zoom Spotting Scope to be a great companion during my exploration of nature's beauty, and I would highly recommend it for those seeking impressive optics without breaking the bank.

I recently went on a hike in the mountains and saw a beautiful raptor perched high above on a rocky cliff. With the Popular Science PS LandScout spotting scope, I was able to get a closer look. The image was crystal clear, and it felt like I could almost touch the raptor.
The scope's adjustable magnification from 20x to 60x made it easy to spot even the smallest of details, which was amazing when observing the stars at night. It also came with a smartphone adapter and a Bluetooth remote, allowing me to capture stunning photos and videos of my adventures. The only downside was, it was a bit heavy, but it was worth it for the incredible views.

However, one downside I noticed is the alt-azimuth mount, which feels a bit lightweight. It also requires a solid equatorial mount and guiding method for longer exposure astrophotography. Despite these minor issues, I believe the StarTravel 120mm is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a beginner's telescope, or someone who wants a reliable and portable option for observing the night sky.

Buyer's Guide

Centerpoint Scopes are an excellent option for hunters, shooters, and outdoor enthusiasts who are looking for high-quality, reliable, and accurate scopes. These scopes come with various features that cater to different preferences and needs. This guide will help you understand the essential features, considerations, and advice when choosing a Centerpoint Scope.

Features to Consider

https://preview.redd.it/95574cfkki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e973991abd9e3b7740ea7f0f9a37e0d806db4bb4

Magnification

Magnification is a crucial factor when choosing a Centerpoint Scope. The magnification determines how much the object appears to be enlarged through the scope. Higher magnification offers better precision, but it may also lead to more image distortion. Consider the magnification range that suits your needs and shooting distance.

Objective Lens Diameter

The objective lens diameter determines the amount of light that enters the scope, affecting brightness and clarity. A larger objective lens diameter allows more light to enter, but it may also increase the scope's weight and size. Choose an objective lens diameter that balances light gathering capability and portability.

Field of View

The field of view (FOV) is the area observable through the scope. A wider FOV is beneficial for tracking and locating fast-moving targets, but it may compromise precision. Choose a Centerpoint Scope with an FOV that suits your shooting style and target type.

https://preview.redd.it/47y79oukki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8848f6bacc75bfbb0070f51c8ea54ce6b431c1a5

Eye Relief

Eye relief is the distance between your eye and the scope's eyepiece for comfortable viewing. Insufficient eye relief may cause eye strain or injury. Opt for a Centerpoint Scope with a generous eye relief distance that accommodates the use of shooting glasses.

Reticle

The reticle is a crosshair that helps you aim and estimate distance. Different reticles provide various advantages, such as improved target acquisition, holdover, or range estimation. Choose a Centerpoint Scope with a reticle that suits your shooting style and target type.

Construction and Durability

A well-built Centerpoint Scope can withstand rough handling and harsh weather conditions. Look for features such as waterproofing, fog-proofing, and shock-resistance to ensure the scope maintains accuracy and reliability.

https://preview.redd.it/rx63teflki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d8905bf5e7e3ea8d89f5319eee1e54ce3cf1cb6

Choosing the Right Centerpoint Scope

When selecting the best Centerpoint Scope for your needs, consider your shooting style, target type, and environmental conditions. Take into account your budget, as well, since different models may offer varying levels of performance and features.

Proper Care and Maintenance

To ensure longevity and accuracy, always clean and store your Centerpoint Scope properly. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for maintenance, avoid subjecting it to extreme temperature changes, and protect it from sudden impacts and vibrations.
Centerpoint Scopes offer a variety of features and benefits for shooters and hunters. By understanding the essential features and considerations, you can make an informed decision when selecting the right Centerpoint Scope for your needs. Remember to always consider proper care and maintenance to ensure its performance and durability.

2024.05.19 13:29 Hot_Moose930 Stainless steel countertops?

Does anyone have any experience with stainless steel countertops?
(We were planning on quartz, but horror stories about staining freaks me out, especially as we planning on white quartz. The estimate on quality quartz such as Cambria and Silestone was almost $17k before taxes! 😫)
We have 90 square feet of countertop, so that would be ALOT OF stainless steel.

382.5 m of 0.54% Cu , including 74.0 m of 0.86% Cu (AZ23277)
TORONTO, May 16, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- McEwen Copper Inc McEwen Mining Inc. (NYSE: MUX) (TSX: MUX), is pleased to provide the assay results from the currently completed drill season at the Los Azules project in Argentina. The prime objectives of this season’s infill drilling campaign were: 1. to confirm the size and grade of the deposit as compared to the 2023 PEA estimate and upgrade the resource categories for the upcoming feasibility study; 2. test for extensions of mineralization beyond the current pit shell; and 3. explore our large property package for other mineralized areas.
Based on the assay results received to date, our first objective appears to have been met. Initial interpretation suggests that our infill drilling will result in an increase in Measured and Indicated resources and an overall mineral inventory within 5% of the PEA estimate. Testing for extensions beyond the planned pit has successfully encountered mineralization both to the north and to the south. Primary mineralization was intercepted (202.0 m of 0.20% Cu) over 400 meters north of last year’s deep exploration hole, confirming its extension at depth a significant distance to the north. Exploration south of the planned pit has intercepted the principal mineralized intrusive more than 700 meters south of previous drill intercepts and indicates that prospective intrusives continue well to the south of the pit.
Exploration over our property has produced an intriguing target, late in the season. Initial results of a concession-wide regional mapping and sampling campaign have identified strong evidence of a large porphyry system 3 kilometers east of the Los Azules deposit. Porphyry-style veining and quartz vein stockworks with copper oxide mineralization have been recognized within this new target, with assay results pending.
Additionally, this news release covers all results from the first half of the 2023-24 drill program (see Table 1 ). Final results will be published when all the geochemistry is completed.
The objective of the 2023-2024 drilling campaign is to collect all the necessary information to support the completion of the Los Azules Feasibility Study by early 2025. This information continues to arrive and will be processed in the following months. Resource drilling is focused on converting all the mineralization to be mined in the first 5 years to Measured and Indicated resource, to increase confidence during the payback period. Geotechnical, metallurgical, hydrogeological, exploration, and condemnation drilling are also being performed.
Highlights
  • Hole AZ23292 returned an intercept of 349 m of 0.77% Cu (approx. true thickness). The Enriched zone portion of this hole extends over 346 meters and includes an intercept of 232 m of 0.86% Cu
  • Hole AZ23277 has an intercept of 382.5 m of 0.54% Cu (approx. true thickness). The Enriched zone portion of this hole extends over 306 meters with a grade of 0.61% Cu and includes an intercept of 74 m of 0.86% Cu
Results
Results are summarized in two schematic cross sections ( Figures 2 and 3 ), which include simplified interpretations of the Overburden, Leached, Enriched and Primary zones. The Enriched mineral zone refers to the enrichment of a copper deposit by precipitation-derived water circulation that carries copper minerals downward through the rocks to accumulate in a thick, often horizontal “blanket”. Immediately above the Enriched zone is the Leached zone, from which copper was removed and transported. Weathering and oxidation often aid in this process. Below the Enriched zone, the Primary (or Hypogene) zone is formed by ascending copper-rich fluids having a much deeper magmatic origin. The green line on the sections indicates the pit floor of the 30-year pit shell from the 2023 NI 43-101 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA).
Figure 1 presents a plan view of the location of two sections and the holes reported. Adjacent cross sections are located 50 m apart from each other, starting with the lowest numbered section at the south end of the deposit and progressing to the north.

Growing the Deposit
Exploration hole AZ23241 ( Figure 4 ) intersected a long interval of low-grade mineralization in the Primary Zone ( 202.0 m of 0.20% Cu ) and began to enter higher-grade mineralization at the end of the hole ( 12.0 m of 0.44% Cu ). This hole is located completely outside of the 2023 PEA base case mineable pit shell. This hole is over 400 meters to the north of exploration hole AZ22174, also located outside of the 2023 PEA base case mineable pit shell, which encountered 1,052.0 m of 0.29% Cu including 480 m of 0.42% Cu ( Figure 4 ). These intercepts suggest that primary mineralization continues at depth a significant distance to the north. Exploration drilling south of the deposit has extended the presence of the early mineral porphyry more than 700 meters south of previous drilling and well outside of the southern pit boundary. This porphyry is host for the majority of the mineralization at Los Azules and encountering it a significant distance farther south indicates that the deposit may also continue in this direction. Assays for these holes are pending.
A comprehensive structural model for the deposit has been completed that will provide a better understanding of structural controls on the deposit and aid in future exploration work. Field verification of a previous property-wide structural study using satellite information was carried out in January and has refined the identification of nearby exploration targets.

Indications of Another Porphyry Copper System Nearby
To date, geological mapping and geochemical sampling has been focused primarily near the Los Azules deposit and only covers roughly 40% of our large concession. To address this limitation, a mapping and sampling campaign was begun in December, to obtain 100% coverage of our concession.
Early results of this work have identified a large new porphyry system 3 kilometers east of Los Azules. Preliminary work has identified porphyry-style veining and alteration, indicating the presence of a porphyry copper system. Areas with strong quartz vein stockworking and the recognition of copper oxides at surface add to the prospectiveness of this newly identified area ( Figure 5 ).

Technical information
The technical content of this press release has been reviewed and approved by Darren King, Director of Exploration of McEwen Copper, who serves as the qualified person (QP) under the definitions of National Instrument 43-101.
All samples were collected in accordance with generally accepted industry standards. Drill core samples, usually taken at 2 m intervals, were split and submitted to the Alex Stewart International laboratory located in the Province of Mendoza, Argentina, for the following assays: gold determination using fire fusion assay and an atomic absorption spectroscopy finish (Au4-30); a 39 multi-element suite using ICP-OES analysis (ICP-AR 39); copper content determination using a sequential copper analysis (Cu-Sequential LMC-140). An additional 19-element analysis (ICP-ORE) was performed for samples with high sulphide content and that exceeded the limits of the ICP-OES analysis.
The company conducts a Quality Assurance/Quality Control program in accordance with NI 43-101 and industry best practices using a combination of standards and blanks on approximately one out of every 25 samples. Results are monitored as final certificates are received, and any re-assay requests are sent back immediately. Pulp and preparation sample analyses are also performed as part of the QAQC process. Approximately 5% of the sample pulps are sent to a secondary laboratory for control purposes. In addition, the laboratory performs its own internal QAQC checks, with results made available on certificates for Company review.

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / May 14, 2024 / Faraday Copper Corp. ("Faraday" or the "Company") (TSX:FDY)(OTCQX:CPPKF) is pleased to announce the results of five drill holes from its Phase III program at the Copper Creek Project, located in Arizona, U.S. ("Copper Creek"). One hole was drilled to test a new target area 275 metres ("m") west of Keel and one hole was drilled to test the westward extension of Old Reliable. Three holes were drilled at Area 51 as a follow-up to the recent Starship and Eclipse breccia discoveries (announced on January 16, 2024 and March 4, 2024).
Paul Harbidge, President and CEO, commented "The Phase III drill program continues to demonstrate the exploration potential of the Copper Creek Project on a number of fronts. At Area 51, we continue to intersect and expand near-surface mineralization. At Old Reliable, mineralization is being further delineated outside of the mineral resource pit shell. Additionally, the first reconnaissance hole drilled at depth, west of Keel, confirms our thesis that there is the potential for significant mineralization to be discovered below the Old Reliable breccia complex. This new data will enable us to vector to high grade zones for further drill testing".
Highlights
  • At Area 51, intersected 42.05 m at 0.41% copper from 48.55 m in drill hole FCD-24-056 at the recently discovered Eclipse breccia.
    • This hole expands the known mineralization within the Eclipse breccia approximately 20 m to the east and 50 m to the north from previous intercepts**.**
  • Drilling 275 m west of Keel ("Keel West") intersected 51.45 m at 0.50% copper and 1.39 grams per tonne ("g/t") silver from 820.62 m in drill hole FCD-24-053. This intercept is within a longer intercept of 186.90 m at 0.32% copper from 820.62 m.
    • This hole is in a previously undrilled area outside the Mineral Resource Estimate ("MRE") and confirms that mineralization is open to the west of Keel and below the Old Reliable breccia.
  • Step-out to the west of Old Reliable intersected 70.35 m of 0.29% copper and 1.31 g/t silver from 55.53 m in drill hole FCD-24-054.
    • Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite porphyry and confirms that near-surface mineralization at Old Reliable remains open.
(For true width information see Table 1.)
Area 51 was identified as highly prospective by integrating airborne versatile time domain electromagnetic (VTEM) geophysical data and short wave infrared spectral data together with geological mapping and sampling. Area 51 encompasses a porphyry intrusion with nine mapped breccia bodies over an area of approximately 400 m by 400 m, including Starship and Eclipse. The breccias are interpreted to have been emplaced at a shallow crustal level in the hanging wall of the northwest trending Holy Joe thrust fault, which brought Proterozoic metamorphic rocks in contact with younger sedimentary rock units to the east of Area 51. This fault is also thought to have controlled the emplacement of the Paleocene Glory Hole volcanics and Copper Creek granodiorite which host the mineral resource.
Drill hole FCD-24-056 was collared northeast of the Eclipse breccia and drilled to the southwest to increase drill coverage for the Eclipse breccia (Figures 1 and 2). Mineralization is associated with chalcopyrite and minor bornite breccia cement. The hole started in granodiorite porphyry and intersected hydrothermal breccia from 28 m to 108 m followed by granodiorite porphyry to 131 m. The remainder of the hole to 187 m is in Glory Hole volcanics. The alteration in the breccia domain is quartz-sericite-pyrite with an interval from approximately 50 m to 70 m where tourmaline is abundant.
Drill hole FCD-24-051 was collared 250 m north of the Eclipse breccia and drilled to the southwest into the Ziltoid breccia (Figure 1). The hole intersected Glory Hole volcanics in the first 180 m, followed by 4 m of granodiorite porphyry. From 184 m to 247 m the dominant lithology is hydrothermal breccia. Alteration at the start of the breccia is sericitic but K-feldspar and biotite dominate from 190 m to the end of the hole.
Drill hole FCD-24-055 was collared southeast of the Eclipse breccia and drilled to the Northwest (Figure 1). The hole intercepted Glory Hole volcanics from surface to 49 m, followed by a series of granodiorite and monzogranite porphyries. From 136 m to 327 m the hole intersected hydrothermal breccia cemented by quartz, pyrite and specular hematite. Alteration within the breccia is intense quartz-sericite. Minor copper mineralization is associated with chalcocite near the upper contact of the breccia.
Keel West is the area between the Keel zone and Old Reliable. This area coincides with a prominent untested geophysical anomaly which extends westward from the known mineralization at the Mammoth breccia and Keel zone to below Old Reliable (Figure 3).
Drill hole FCD-24-053 was collared east of Old Reliable and drilled to the south-southeast (Figures 1 and 3). Mineralization is associated with bornite and chalcopyrite bearing veins with narrow sericite-biotite-K-feldspar alteration halos and the hole ends in mineralization. This type of bornite-rich, vein-hosted mineralization is known to be associated with high-grade mineralization and elevated gold grades at Keel and suggests the potential for other high-grade mineralized centers at depth below known near-surface mineralized breccias in the area.
Old Reliable was the site of small-scale underground mining for copper and molybdenum prior to World War II. Starting in the 1970s, an experimental in-situ leach operation recovered some of the near-surface copper oxide mineralization. The sulphide-hosted mineralization remains in place. During the 1990s, densely spaced vertical drilling led to resource definition to approximately 200 m below surface. Several of those drill holes end in mineralization and the resource is open at depth and laterally. Additional follow up drilling is planned for this area.
Drill hole FCD-24-054 was collared north of Old Reliable and drilled to the southwest (Figures 1 and 4). The hole was designed to test the westward extension of the mineralization outside of the open pit used to constrain the MRE. Mineralization is associated with disseminated and vein-hosted chalcopyrite within granodiorite porphyry. The drill hole intercepted Glory Hole volcanics from surface to 50 m and granodiorite porphyry to 208 m, returning to Glory Hole volcanics to 295 m and granodiorite for the last 12 m. Dominant alteration associated with the mineralization is sericite with kaolinite. Similar alteration is present in the Old Reliable breccia (as discussed in a news release dated April 10, 2024).

Next Steps
Phase III drilling continues and is focussed on three objectives:
  • Reconnaissance drilling on new targets;
  • Expanding the MRE; and
  • Better delineating high-grade mineralized zones.
As part of the Phase III program, twenty-seven drill holes have been completed and results for nineteen have been released. Thirteen holes were drilled in Area 51, three in the Copper Prince-Copper Giant area, eight in the Bald-American Eagle area and three near Old Reliable. Current focus of drilling is on the near-surface breccias in the American Eagle area.
Sampling Methodology, Chain of Custody, Quality Control and Quality Assurance
All sampling was conducted under the supervision of the Company's geologists and the chain of custody from Copper Creek to the independent sample preparation facility, ALS Laboratories in Tucson, AZ, was continuously monitored. The samples were taken as ½ core, over 2 m core length. Samples were crushed, pulverized and sample pulps were analyzed using industry standard analytical methods including a 4-Acid ICP-MS multielement package and an ICP-AES method for high-grade copper samples. Gold was analyzed on a 30 g aliquot by fire assay with an ICP-AES finish. A certified reference sample was inserted every 20th sample. Coarse and fine blanks were inserted every 20th sample. Approximately 5% of the core samples were cut into ¼ core and submitted as field duplicates. On top of internal QA-QC protocol, additional blanks, reference materials and duplicates were inserted by the analytical laboratory according to their procedure. Data verification of the analytical results included a statistical analysis of the standards and blanks that must pass certain parameters for acceptance to ensure accurate and verifiable results.

Cardston, Alberta--(Newsfile Corp. - May 10, 2024) - American Creek Resources Ltd. (TSXV: AMK) (OTCQB: ACKRF) ("the Corporation" or "American Creek") is pleased to announce that crews from JV partner Tudor Gold are on site preparing camp and drill locations for the upcoming 2024 exploration program at the flagship Treaty Creek Project, located in the Golden Triangle of Northwest British Columbia. Two diamond drills were mobilized to the project on May 7th and 8th and drilling commenced on May 9th.
Phase 1 of the 2024 exploration program is expected to consist of approximately 10,000 meters (m) of diamond drilling at the Goldstorm Deposit. The primary objective of the Phase 1 drill program is to expand and upgrade the recently released Mineral Resource Estimate (news release dated April 8, 2024). Several drill holes have been designed as step-out drilling to the high-grade Supercell One (SC-1) system identified in 2023 (news release dated February 1, 2024). Supercell One is a gold dominant, quartz-sulphide, breccia-hosted structural corridor open to the northwest, north and east.
Previous drilling results from Supercell One include the following high-grade gold intercepts:

Drilling will take place from two drill pads that were built last fall in preparation for this program. One drill rig is positioned just beyond the northern limit of known mineralization and the second rig is located at the northeastern boundaries of the Goldstorm Deposit. Drilling will focus on an area located between 200-250 m northeast of the current Mineral Resource limit.
  • Diamond Drill 1 is to be mobilized to Pad 12 (Section A) to complete three holes. Drill holes 12A and 12B will further test the 100 m down-dip extension of the CS-600 domain and the projection of the SC-1 system to the north and at depth. Drill hole 12C is an infill hole, testing the continuity and following up on the impressive results from drill holes GS-23-176-W1 (1.23 g/t Au, 2.93 g/t Ag, 0.12% Cu over 601.5 m) and GS-23-179 (1.16 g/t Au, 2.25 g/t Ag, 0.19% Cu over 223.5 m). Our planned hole 12C is estimated to intersect a distance of approximately 140 m east of GS-23-176-W1 and 120 m west of GS-23-179.
  • Diamond Drill 2 is to be mobilized to Pad 13 (Section B), currently the furthest northeast step-out on the deposit to date, to complete four drill holes. All four drill holes are targeting the northeast extension of the CS-600 domain and the nested SC-1 system in a regularly spaced drill fence. Drill holes 13A and 13B are to target a northward 200-m step-out of the lower CS-600 domain to the northwest and east of drill hole GS-23-179 by approximately 120 m. Drill holes 13C and 13D are designed to increase drilling density and potentially upgrade the resource category from Inferred to Indicated in the CS-600 and DS5 domains, laterally and at depth.
Ken Konkin, President & CEO of Tudor Gold**, commented:** "We are very excited to begin the 2024 diamond drill hole program well beyond the known northern and northeastern limits of the Goldstorm Deposit. I would like to congratulate our field crews for completing a safe and efficient start-up of the program which is designed to pierce areas that have been identified as high-grade gold targets in the newly identified Supercell One (SC-1) breccia system. Three wide-spaced drill holes have previously intersected a tectonic structural corridor which hosts fine-grained visible native gold identified in drill hole GS-22-134 with 20.86 g/t AuEq over 4.5 m (20.61 g/t Au, 1.5 g/t Ag, 0.20% Cu) within 25.5 m of 9.96 g/t AuEQ (9.66 g/t Au, 1.23 g/t Ag, 0.24% Cu). Subsequent exploration drilling intersected the same auriferous, hydrothermal, late-stage breccia zone with drill holes GS-23-176-W1 with 15.64 g/t AuEQ over 15.0 m (14.89 g/t Au, 4.72 g/t and Ag, 0.60% Cu) and GS-23-179 with 10.07 g/t AuEq over 12.0 m (9.78 g/t Au, 1.35 g/t Ag and 0.23% Cu). These three holes identified a geological target that occurs along a 400-m down-dip projection near the upper contact area of the CS-600 domain.
"In addition to testing the SC-1 high-grade breccia, the proposed Phase 1 drill holes are designed to expand and convert much of the inferred mineralization within the CS-600 and DS5 domains that is estimated to contain approximately six million ounces of gold-equivalent resource (Inferred) grading 1.25 g/t AuEq. Our concept is to add as much high-grade ounces to our current Estimated Mineral Resource of 26.9 million ounces of 1.19 g/t AuEq. With the completion of this year's program, we expect to publish a Preliminary Economic Assessment of our Goldstorm Deposit planned for release in late Q1 or early Q2 2025."
Darren Blaney, President & CEO of American Creek Resources, states: "The 2024 drill program has the potential to be the most significant one yet. Every year, as Tudor has drilled further north, the grades have continued to increase. Nowhere is this more evident than in the high-grade SC-1 system. We are confident that the overall scale and grade of the Goldstorm deposit will continue to increase through this year's drilling and are excited about the prospects of the high-grade supercells, including the SC-1 system."

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / May 9, 2024 / Aldebaran Resources Inc. ("Aldebaran" or the "Company") (TSXV:ALDE)(OTCQX:ADBRF) is pleased to report results for four drill holes of the 2023/2024 field campaign at the Altar copper-gold project in San Juan, Argentina. The holes reported herein (ALD-24-074EXT, ALD-24-240, ALD-24-241, ALD-24-238, and ALD-24-242) were all substantial step-outs to the north or south of known mineralization. Hole ALD-24-074EXT was designed to extend mineralization in the Altar United trend. Hole ALD-24-241 was designed to achieve three goals: (1) infill a gap in our drilling at the Altar United discovery, (2) drill perpendicular to many of the previous holes within the United area to ensure there is no bias in grades because of hole orientation, and (3) to test for continuity in between the existing fences of drill holes. Hole ALD-24-240 was designed to fill a gap in the existing drilling, and hole ALD-24-242 was designed to test the southern extent of the mineralized footprint at the Altar project. All holes successfully hit mineralization and expanded the footprint of the mineralized system, while ALD-24-241 returned one of the highest-grade intercepts from the project to date. All four holes will provide valuable information for the upcoming mineral resource estimate, scheduled for H2 2024.

    • Including 116.40 m of 0.36% CuEq from 883.00 m depth
John Black, Chief Executive Officer of Aldebaran, commented: "The Altar deposit continues to grow with each drill hole we complete. This batch of drill holes expands the mineralized footprint of the deposit and grows the higher-grade mineralization commonly found at Altar United. Hole 241, which targeted Altar United, represents one of the best holes we've drilled on the project to date, with long runs of very attractive-grade mineralization. All this information will be valuable as we move towards a mineral resource update, planned to be completed later this year."
Dr. Kevin B. Heather, Chief Geological Officer of Aldebaran, commented: "All of the holes have provided us with valuable geological information that will be beneficial to the growth of the mineral resource. The oxide hosted gold mineralization encountered at the top of hole 241 is very intriguing and may offer opportunities to expand this style of mineralization that could be amenable to low-cost heap leaching early in the operation. Holes 240 and 242 expand the known footprint of the mineralization. Hole 241, apart from being one of the better intercepts on the project to-date, it also, and importantly, confirms lateral continuity of the higher-grade mineralization perpendicular to the orientation of most of the previous drill holes in the Altar United area; not to mention filling in a large gap in the previous drilling."
Table 1 below shows detailed assays for all holes. Figure 1 displays a plan map of the completed and ongoing drill hole locations, while Figures 2, 3, 4 and 5 display cross-sections of the holes reported herein.

Discussion of Results
ALD-24-074EXT
ALD-24-074EXT (Figure 2) is a historical hole collared in the western edge of the Altar United trend. It is a vertical hole originally drilled in 2010 to a depth of 607.60 m. ALD-24-074 was extended during the current campaign to a final depth of 1,327.00 m. The main purpose of this hole was to fill a gap in the previous drilling and test for the extension of mineralization at Altar United.
Lithology: Drillhole ALD-24-074EXT intersected diorite porphyry units from surface to the end of the hole (cutting a minor interval of rhyolite between 1,118 m and 1,160 m depth).
Alteration & Mineralization: ALD-24-074EXT encountered strongly oxidized and leached rocks from surface to 130 m depth, followed by a well-developed secondary copper enrichment zone until 220 m depth. Moderate quartz-pyrite-chalcopyrite-molybdenite veining occurs along the entire hole, with increasing intensity over the last 500 m of the hole. Hypogene copper mineralization in ALD-24-074EXT consists of chalcopyrite and lesser amounts of bornite and hypogene chalcocite, which are intimately related with the occurrence of moderate to strong green sericite(-chlorite)-alteration that is overprinting earlier, biotite-k-feldspar-magnetite alteration, both of which increase in intensity down the hole. Weaker mineralization from 510 m to 840 m depth is a consequence of the overprinting by moderate to strong intensity "white sericite-pyrite" alteration which appears to be copper destructive on this portion of the hole.
ALD-24-240
ALD-24-240 (Figure 3) is collared at the eastern edge of Altar Central. This hole was drilled at -85 degrees dip to the north and to a final depth of 1,273.2 m. The main purpose of ALD-24-240 was to test an area with limited drilling to date.
Lithology: Drillhole ALD-24-240 intersected dominantly wall rock rhyolite and andesite volcanic rocks from top to bottom. The hole intersected rhyolite from surface until 620 m depth, before entering an intercalation of dominantly andesitic rocks and minor rhyolitic units. Two short intervals of diorite intrusive rocks (dykes) were encountered; the first of these from 922 m to 931 m depth and the second from 1,263 m until the bottom of the hole at 1,273.2 m.
Alteration & Mineralization: Drillhole ALD-24-240 encountered strongly oxidized and leached rocks over the initial 138 m, before entering a weakly developed secondary copper enrichment zone up to 320 m depth. Copper mineralization in the hypogene zone is mainly associated with the occurrence of chalcopyrite associated with moderate to strong "green sericite-(chlorite)" alteration and to "k-feldspar-biotite" potassic assemblages. These early alteration assemblages are overprinted in the upper portion of the hole by weak to moderate "white sericite-pyrite" alteration and by discrete structures with pyrite-enargite. Molybdenum mineralization is associated with the occurrence of moderate quartz-pyrite-chalcopyrite-molybdenum veining from the initial meters of the hole and progressively increasing at depth.
ALD-24-241
ALD-24-241 (Figure 4) is collared in the Altar United trend. The hole was drilled at -85 degrees dip and to the southeast at 110-degree azimuth. Hole ALD-24-241 was designed to achieved three goals: (1) infill a gap in our drilling at the Altar United discovery, (2) drill perpendicular to many of the previous holes within the United area to ensure there is no bias in grades because of hole orientation, and (3) to test for continuity in between the existing fences of drill holes. The targeted depth for ALD-24-241 was at least 1,500 m depth, however the hole was lost prematurely at 1,296.0 m depth due to operator issues.
Lithology: From surface to 162 m depth, drillhole ALD-24-241 intersected diorite porphyry displaying intense quartz stockwork veining, followed underneath by a likely younger diorite porphyry displaying identical textural characteristics, but lower frequency of quartz veining. The nature of the contact between these two units is uncertain due to the strong oxidation and fracturing at those depths.
Alteration & Mineralization: ALD-24-241 displays strong oxidation from surface and until 300 m depth. Copper mineralization was completely leached in this upper portion of the hole due to weathering. On the other hand, gold mineralization occurs from surface to 162 m depth, spatially associated with strong to intense quartz stockwork veining present within that interval. A poorly developed supergene copper enrichment zone occurs from the base of oxidation until 375 m depth and is characterized by the occurrence of secondary chalcocite coatings on pyrite and chalcopyrite. Copper mineralization below 375 m depth is hypogene and consists mainly of chalcopyrite and locally bornite. A background of moderate intensity, early "biotite-k-feldspar-magnetite-chalcopyrite" potassic alteration is overprinted by variable amounts of hair-wide veinlets displaying several centimeter wide halos of "green sericite-(chlorite)-chalcopyrite>pyrite" alteration which are crosscut by younger "white sericite-pyrite" veins. A clear zonation is observed between these alteration events along ALD-24-241, with the upper portion of the hole dominated by "white sericite-pyrite" alteration which decreases in intensity until approximately 600 m depth. On the other hand, "green sericite-chlorite-chalcopyrite>pyrite" progressively increases towards the bottom, becoming dominant below 600 m depth and displaying strong intensity over the last 600 m of the hole. Molybdenum mineralization is associated with the occurrence of "molybdenite-quartz-pyrite-chalcopyrite" veining. These veins crosscut the "green sericite-chlorite" halo veins, displaying also a remarkable spatial association with copper mineralization.
ALD-24-242
ALD-24-242 (Figure 5) was collared well south of any previous drill holes on the project. The hole was collared 285 m to the southeast from hole ALD-24-239 and 335 m away from hole ALD-23-222, the two closest holes in this area. ALD-24-242 was drilled at -75 degrees dip to the north and to a final depth of 999.4 m. The main objective of this hole was to test the extension of the mineralization encountered at depth in hole ALD-24-239. The hole was stopped due to hitting the depth capacity of the drill rig.
Lithology: Drillhole ALD-24-242 intersected a long interval of rhyolite until 768 m depth and thereafter encountered intercalations of dominantly andesitic volcanic rocks crosscut by minor rhyolite dykes.
Alteration & Mineralization: From surface to 770 m depth, alteration within the rhyolite is characterized by the occurrence of moderate "chlorite-hematite-magnetite-pyrite" and "white sericite-pyrite-tourmaline" assemblages crosscut by discrete high-sulphidation "pyrite-enargite" and intermediate-sulphidation base metal carbonate epithermal structures. Chalcopyrite increases steadily below 770 m depth, coincident with the occurrence of weak "biotite-k feldspar-magnetite" potassic alteration which increases towards the bottom of the hole.
Project Update
The Company is winding down the 2023/2024 field program with one drill rig currently active. Holes ALD-24-062EXT, ALD-24-129EXT, ALD-24-243, ALD-24-165EXT, ALD-24-150EXT, and ALD-24-244 are complete and were terminated at 1,161.00 m, 1,211.00 m, 1,842.00 m, 1,208.00 m, 1,239.50 m, and 1,061.00 m depth, respectively: all pending final assays. Holes ALD-24-062EXT, ALD-24-129EXT, ALD-24-165EXT, and ALD-24-150EXT are all historic drill holes that were originally terminated at 470.00 m, 513.00 m, 484.50 m, 548.00 m depth, respectively, but that were extended during the current drilling campaign to 1,161.00 m, 1,211.00 m, 1,208.00 m, and 1,239.50 m depths respectively. Hole ALD-24-243 deviated significantly from its originally intended target due to operator error, however, the Company elected to let the hole continue to a final depth of 1,842.00 m due to encouraging visuals. ALD-24-245 is currently active and at approximately 820 m depth and will be the final hole of this field season.

About Aldebaran Resources Inc.
Aldebaran is a mineral exploration company that was spun out of Regulus Resources Inc. in 2018 and has the same core management team. Aldebaran holds a 60% interest in the Altar copper-gold project in San Juan Province, Argentina and can earn an additional 20% interest in the project by completing a further $25 million in expenditures at Altar over the next three years. The Altar project hosts multiple porphyry copper-gold deposits with potential for additional discoveries. Altar forms part of a cluster of world-class porphyry copper deposits which includes Los Pelambres (Antofagasta Minerals), El Pachón (Glencore), and Los Azules (McEwen Copper). In March 2021 the Company announced an updated mineral resource estimate for Altar, prepared by Independent Mining Consultants Inc. and based on the drilling completed up to and including 2020 (independent technical report prepared by Independent Mining Consultants Inc., Tucson, Arizona, titled "Technical Report, Estimated Mineral Resources, Altar Project, San Juan Province, Argentina", dated March 22, 2021 - see news release dated March 22, 2021).
Sampling and Analytical Procedures
Altar follows systematic and rigorous sampling and analytical protocols which meet and exceed industry standards. These protocols are summarized below and are available on the Aldebaran website at www.aldebaranresources.com.
All drill holes are diamond core holes with PQ, HQ or NQ core diameters. Drill core is collected at the drill site where recovery and RQD (Rock Quality Designation) measurements are taken before the core is boxed and transported to the Altar camp facilities, a short distance away, where the whole core is photographed under more optimum lighting conditions and geological quick log is produced. The whole-core is then marked and sampled into geological defined, systematic 1- to 2-metre sample intervals, unless the geologist determines the presence of an important geological contact, which should not be crossed. The whole-core is then cut-in-half with a diamond saw blade, with half the sample retained in the core box for future reference and the other half placed into a pre-labelled plastic bag, sealed with a two plastic security zip ties, and labeled with a unique sample number. The bagged samples are then placed into larger plastic sacks and those sacks are sealed with another plastic security zip tie and labelled for shipment. The sacks are then placed onto wooden pallets and wrapped in plastic shrink-wrap and stored in a secure area pending shipment to a certified ALS laboratory sample preparation facility located in Mendoza, Argentina, where the samples are dried, crushed, and pulverized. The resulting sample pulps are sent by batch to the ALS laboratory in Lima for geochemical assay analysis, including a 30g fire assay with an atomic absorption (AA) finish analysis for gold and a full multi-acid digestion (4-acid) with ICP-AES analysis for other elements. Samples with results that exceed maximum detection values for gold are re-analyzed by fire assay with a gravimetric finish and other elements of interest are re-analyzed using precise ore-grade ICP analytical techniques. Aldebaran independently inserts certified control standards (Super Certified Reference Materials (SCRM's), coarse field blanks, and duplicates into the sample stream to monitor data quality. These control samples represent 10-12% of the total samples submitted and are inserted "blindly" to the laboratory in the sample sequence prior to departure from the Aldebaran facilities.

Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - May 9, 2024) - Tudor Gold Corp. (TSXV: TUD) (FSE: H56) (the "Company" or "Tudor") is pleased to announce that crews are on site preparing camp and drill locations for the Company's upcoming 2024 exploration program at its flagship Treaty Creek Project, located in the Golden Triangle of Northwest British Columbia. Two diamond drills were mobilized to the project on May 7th and 8th and drilling is expected to commence on May 9th.
  • GS-23-176-W1: 15.00 m @ 15.64 grams/tonne (g/t) AuEQ (14.89 g/t gold (Au), 4.72 g/t silver (Ag), 0.60% copper (Cu))
  • GS-22-134: 25.50 m @ 9.96 g/t AuEQ (9.66 g/t Au, 1.23 g/t Ag, 0.24% Cu)
    • Including 4.50 m @ 20.86 g/t AuEQ (20.61 g/t Au, 1.50 g/t Ag, 0.20% Cu)
  • GS-23-179: 12.00 m @ 10.07 g/t AuEQ (9.78 g/t Au, 1.35 g/t Ag, 0.23% Cu)
Click the following links to view the corresponding SC-1 plan view map and drill sections.
Ken Konkin, President & CEO of Tudor Gold, comments: "We are very excited to begin the 2024 diamond drill hole program well beyond the known northern and northeastern limits of the Goldstorm Deposit. In addition to testing the SC-1 high-grade breccia, the proposed Phase 1 drill holes are designed to expand and convert much of the inferred mineralization within the CS-600 and DS5 domains that is estimated to contain approximately six million ounces of gold-equivalent resource grading 1.25 g/t AuEq.

2024.05.08 18:03 StuffedCrustGold How much should I expect to pay for a kitchen and bathroom remodel

I have a small condo. I will not be DIYing since I have no skills, plus I have a contractor who will be completing some repairs related to water damage and mold. They also do renovations so I thought might as well have them do everything too.
Here are my estimated costs so far. Appliances are from a quote from a local dealer. Cabinets and countertop are from the Ikea kitchen planner cost estimate (I’ve heard ikea has high prices for quartz so I’ll explore direct from manufacturer). The others are from Home Depot and other stores.
76 sqft Kitchen - IKEA cabinets - $4700 - Quartz countertop - $3420 - Tile backsplash - $192 - Appliances - $6250 - Tile floor - $532
50 sqft bathroom - Ikea vanity - $529 - Ikea tall cabinet - $209 - Ikea medicine cabinet - $388 - Acrylic alcove bathtub - $469 - Bathtub wall surround - $519 - Toilet - $699 - Tile floor - $480
Est sales tax - $1903 Total - $20290

VANCOUVER, BC , May 8, 2024 /CNW/ - Scottie Resources Corp. (" Scottie " or the " Company ") (TSXV: SCOT) (OTCQB: SCTSF) (FSE: SR8) is pleased to announce the exploration plan for the 2024 season on the Company's flagship asset, the Scottie Gold Mine Project, located in BC's Golden Triangle. Slated to start in late June, the $4 Stewart, BC , along the Granduc Road.
Highlights:
  • Fully financed $4.5 M budget
  • Expansionary drilling of the Blueberry Zone (~2,500 metres)
  • Underground validation of historic drilling at the Scottie Gold Mine and defining a high-grade resource for the deposit
    • Continued drilling of the Scottie Gold Mine P-Zone (~1,000 metres)
  • Step-out drilling on D-Zone targets (~1,500 metres)
  • Initial testing of the new high-grade gold showing discovered in 2023 located
between the Scottie Gold Mine and D-Zone (~1,000 metres)
  • Robust TerraSpec program (short-wave infrared spectroscopy) designed to establish
the fertile window around the Texas Creek intrusive
President and CEO, Brad Rourke commented: "Fully financed, our program this year is designed to efficiently consolidate and leverage Scottie's exploration successes at Blueberry and D-Zone into a robust framework that directly links the Scottie Gold Mine and other local deposits with these discoveries. Another key component of the program will be to establish a resource at the Scottie Gold Mine to underpin value and demonstrate a pathway for a global project-scale resource encompassing the belt of high-grade deposits that occur along the margin the Texas Creek aged intrusive stock - notably Blueberry, D-Zone, and Bend. With a healthy treasury and a clear plan to demonstrate value, we are well positioned to benefit from opportunities unfolding in the area."

2024 Exploration Program
The exploration program will commence in late-June (snow melt dependant). Drilling will commence with one diamond drill targeting the Blueberry Contact Zone for expansion, and a fly-drill will focus on targets requiring helicopter access, e.g. D-Zone and the Scottie Gold Mine. Total initial meterage budgeted is about 6,000 metres, spread across multiple targets, the allocation being dependant upon initial field observations and results. The program is being developed with the ability to easily scale up, should the market conditions change.
The TerraSpec program (short-wave infrared spectroscopy) will be following up on positive initial results from a small pilot program on the Blueberry Contact Zone that indicated a link between clay/mica minerals and proximity to the high-grade ore shoots. The 2024 TerraSpec program will expand on these results in order to assess other deposits in the Scottie Gold Mine and their relation to the adjacent Texas Creek intrusive. The program will combine data from surficial transects, analysis of historic drill core, and the 2024 drill holes.
In addition to work on the Scottie Gold Mine Project, the company will be carrying out a concerted greenfield exploration program on the Georgia Project where a new showing was discovered in 2023. The showing is located 3 kilometres south of the historic Georgia River Mine where a grab sample hosting visible gold ran 165 g/t gold. The location the 1.5 metre wide, banded quartz-carbonate-chlorite vein, is approximately 3 kilometres along strike of the historic Georgia River Mine
About the Scottie Gold Mine Project
Exploration of the Scottie Gold Mine Project over the past 5 years has produced exceptional drill results through the discovery of high-grade gold in four new zones (Blueberry Contact Zone, Domino, D-Zone, P-Zone) and the expansion of previously drill confirmed targets (Scottie Gold Mine, C-Zone, Bend Vein, Stockwork). When depicted on a map of property scale geology (Figure 1) there is a clear spatial relation between the outcropping and drill-confirmed high-grade gold targets and the contact with the Jurassic aged, Texas Creek Plutonic suite intrusion. The new 2023 surface discovery of gold-rich vein style mineralization between the Scottie Gold Mine and the C & D-Zones further supports this relationship. Geological work in the area has established strong connections between the various deposits. The chemical, mineralogical, structural, and age relationships of the deposits and host rocks support a genetic model whereby all deposits are linked to the same mineralizing event.
About the Blueberry Contact Zone
The Blueberry Contact Zone is located just 2 kilometres northeast of the 100% owned, past-producing Scottie Gold Mine located in British Columbia, Canada's Golden Triangle region. Historic trenching and channel sampling of the Blueberry Vein include results of 103.94 g/t gold over 1.43 metres, and 203.75 g/t gold over 1.90 metres. Despite high-grade surficial samples and easy road access, the Blueberry Vein had only limited reported drilling prior to the Company's exploration work. The target was significantly advanced during Scottie's 2019 drill program when an interval grading 7.44 g/t gold over 34.78 metres was intersected in a new N-S oriented zone adjacent to the main Blueberry Vein. The drill results received from 2020 - 2023, coupled with surficial mapping and sampling suggest that the N-S mineralized trend is a first order structure that hosts an array of SW-trending, sub-parallel, sulphide-rich veins that obliquely crosscut it which host high-grade gold. As of the end of 2023, the extent of the N-S zone, defined by the contact between andesite and siltstone units of the Hazelton Formation and the presence of the cross-cutting sulfide-rich structures, has a drilled strike length of 1,550 metres and has been tested to >525 metres depth. The Blueberry Contact Zone is located on the Granduc Road, 20 kilometres north of the Ascot Resources' Premier Mine. Newmont's Brucejack Mine is located 25 kilometres to the north.
Quality Assurance and Control
Results from samples taken during the 2023 field season were analyzed at SGS Minerals in Burnaby, BC Thomas Mumford
Dr. Thomas Mumford , P.Geo., a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed the technical information contained in this news release on behalf of the Company.

"Today's announcement is two-fold: we have successfully confirmed mineralization in an area of Kilgore previously underdrilled, returning grade-intervals inline with the current Mineral Resource Estimate cut-off and potentially further extending mineralization to the southwest of the deposit," stated Shawn Howarth, President and CEO. "We have also intersected mineralization in the Aspen sediments, where we are focusing on the potential for higher-grade zones. The information announced today will help us to better understand grade contouring and will be used in future resource modelling and exploration drill programs."
Exploration Results:
The 2022 drill program comprised six diamond drill holes totalling 2,145 metres with oriented core and detailed sampling to improve structural understanding of high-grade mineralization and potential. A summary of the selected holes is provided below:
  • EX22KG001: A confirmation drillhole within the current mineral resource envelope identified by previous drilling. A more detailed sampling was conducted, identifying a high level of grade variability, and control of mineralization by narrow jarosite-filled structures and high-grade vein stockwork. Mineralization returned was previously reported in the Company's press release dated December 6, 2022, and is summarized in Table 1 below.
  • EX22KG003: Drilled at an oblique angle and designed to improve structural data within the deposit along the north-west margins and further insights on lithological contacts. The hole reconfirmed mineralization in the Tertiary volcanics including an intersection of 0.44 g/t Au over 83.68 metres.
  • EX22KG004: Drilled for structural data within the deposit for improved modelling, EX22KG004 confirmed high-grade mineralization within the resource envelope and in the Aspen sediments, returning 1.37 g/t Au over 81.21 metres, including 2.77 g/t Au over 15.64 metres and 5.28 g/t Au over 5.54 metres.

2024.05.05 07:55 tallnoe Cost inquiry for Cambria Torquay

I'm looking to get countertops installed and I know it's costly, but wondering if it's outrageous. I live on the Big Island, Hawaii, so I know prices are probably more, but wondering what y'all think. (I'm a total newbie at this, for sure. I had silestone in Seattle.) Got a quote from the cabinet company for 2 slabs of Cambria Torquay, polished, 2cm thickness. $6,197 + $3,335 + tax for a total of $9,961.55 Got a quote from the fabricator for 86.3 sqft of fabrication. $6,649.74
The entire total being $16,611.29. This is for kitchen and bathroom counters. Is this ludicrous, or just the price of countertops? Anything anyone suggests to reduce or another kind of countertop or...? TIA.
ETA: (trying to add the pics of the estimates, but apparently not.) Here's what I have for the fabrication and the stone. I can't escape the feeling that I am being double charged for the stone. A friend has said I'm not, but... it's a feeling I have.

The Company will acquire two large claims comprising 10,667.0 Ha (the " El Richard – San Enrique claims " or " San Enrique prospect ") located south and partially adjacent to the Company's Panuco project (the " Panuco Project " or " Panuco "). The San Enrique prospect is situated along the highly prospective Panuco – San Dimas corridor and is covered 100% with LiDAR and partially covered with high-resolution aero-magnetic and radiometric surveys.
For full details on the Acquisition, please view the April 16, 2024 , news release located on our website at https://vizslasilvercorp.com/news/2024/
The Consideration Shares have been issued at a share price of C$1.97 for total consideration of C$882,830 (US$650,000)
About the San Enrique prospect
The San Enrique prospect area is adjacent to the southern boundary of the Panuco project. The prospect comprises two titled mining claims covering 10,667.0 Ha (El Richard with 3,688.6 Ha and San Enrique with 6,978.4 Ha) in the emerging silver-gold-rich Panuco – San Dimas corridor with estimated past production plus current resources and reserves of 1.2- Boz Ag and 15- Moz Au
The LiDAR and mag survey from the San Enrique prospect show strong NW-trending lineaments, indicative of regional faults and fractures. Two of these lineaments are aligned and seem to be the SE extensions of the Copala fault and the Cordon del Oro
  • Animas vein structures in Panuco 40 A 39 Ar age dating on adularia separates from veins in Panuco project indicates that epithermal mineralization post dates felsic volcanism in the area. Additionally, preliminary recognizance mapping in the northeast has revealed the presence of andesite tuffs and flows, quartz veining and breccia structures. The Santa Fe mine is located three kilometres south of San Enrique , is owned and operated by Inca Azteca Gold and is a small scale mine producing high-grade silver and gold from a NW trending epithermal vein. This supports the hypothesis that the NW trending structures within San Enrique have the potential to host additional veins yet to be discovered.
The San Enrique prospect contains several indicators that suggest it is a highly prospective area, namely: location ( Panuco – San Dimas corridor), high-grade deposits immediately north ( Copala and Panuco ), structural controls (southeast extensions of the Copala fault and Cordon - Animas lineament), domes and an operating mine to the south along another NW regional fault ( Santa Fe mine, Inca Azteca).
Vizsla Silver is in the process of acquiring a multispectral World View III satellite image covering the whole Panuco and San Enrique claims to speed up the target generation process. Furthermore, the Company intends to conduct regional recognizance-mapping and a stream-sediment geochemical survey at San Enrique in the near future.
About the Panuco Project
The newly consolidated Panuco silver-gold project is an emerging high-grade discovery located in southern Sinaloa, Mexico , near the city of Mazatlán. The 17,856.5-hectare, past producing district benefits from over 86 kilometres of total vein extent, 35 kilometres of underground mines, roads, power, and permits.
The district contains intermediate to low sulfidation epithermal silver and gold deposits related to siliceous volcanism and crustal extension in the Oligocene and Miocene. Host rocks are mainly continental volcanic rocks correlated to the Tarahumara Formation.
On January 8, 2024 , the Company announced an updated mineral resource estimate for Panuco which includes an estimated in-situ indicated mineral resource of 155.8 Moz AgEq and an in-situ inferred resource of 169.6 Moz AgEq.

You are cautioned not to assume that any part or all of mineral resources will ever be converted into reserves. Pursuant to CIM Definition Standards, "inferred mineral resources" are that part of a mineral resource for which quantity and grade or quality are estimated on the basis of limited geological evidence and sampling. Such geological evidence is sufficient to imply but not verify geological and grade or quality continuity. An inferred mineral resource has a lower level of confidence than that applying to an indicated mineral resource and must not be converted to a mineral reserve. However, it is reasonably expected that the majority of inferred mineral resources could be upgraded to indicated mineral resources with continued exploration. Under Canadian rules, estimates of inferred mineral resources may not form the basis of feasibility or pre-feasibility studies, except in rare cases. Investors are cautioned not to assume that all or any part of an inferred mineral resource is economically or legally mineable. Disclosure of "contained ounces" in a resource is permitted disclosure under Canadian regulations; however, the SEC normally only permits issuers to report mineralization that does not constitute "reserves" by SEC standards as in place tonnage and grade without reference to unit measures.
Canadian standards, including the CIM Definition Standards and NI 43-101, differ significantly from standards in the SEC Industry Guide 7. Effective February 25, 2019 , the SEC adopted new mining disclosure rules under subpart 1300 of Regulation S-K of the United States Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the "SEC Modernization Rules"), with compliance required for the first fiscal year beginning on or after January 1, 2021

2024.05.03 12:14 Yuanke_Thomas 【In-Depth Analysis】Plant Factories - Vertical Farming: A Vision Across Millennia, A Journey of Conquering Hell

Hello, here is a review of my understanding about the industry of plant factories:

Opening Remarks

🌿 T*he Green Revolution from Ancient to Modern Times *🌱—Unlocking the Secrets of Vertical Agriculture with Plant Factories, Rewriting the Rules of Food Production!
🚀 The crystallization of wisdom spanning millennia is no longer a dream! From ancient reverence for the land to the fantastic stage of modern technology, Plant factories are propelling vertical agriculture from concept to reality with a transcendent presence! Amidst towering skyscrapers, secret green bases are quietly staging a green revolution in food production ✨.
💡 Here, the interplay of light and shadow is no longer just the cycle of day and night, but a precise choreography of life under LED lights. Each crop grows leisurely in carefully controlled environments, showcasing the perfect fusion of technology and nature. In the unmanned plant factories of Chengdu, lettuce enjoys exclusive LED light SPA treatments, and every steel frame is a declaration to the sky for a bountiful harvest! This is not just gardening; this is the ultimate display of technology and nature dancing together! 🌟
🔥 Yet, this green journey is also the ultimate challenge of commercial models and cost-effectiveness, venturing into the depths of the "road to hell." Finding that golden key between high technology and economic benefits, unlocking the treasure trove of sustainable development, has become a mandatory course for every pioneer of plant factories 🔍.
💰 In this process, we witness the brilliance and challenges of AeroFarms, the safety declaration of Nuvege, and countless attempts and setbacks. Every fallen attempt is an indispensable stepping stone towards success, and every breakthrough is a brave conquest of "hellish" economics!
🌈 And in this land of hope, plant factories not only redefine "cultivation" but also open up endless imagination for environmentally friendly and efficient agricultural models. Amidst skyscrapers, they are writing a new chapter that emphasizes both green ideals and profits!

Current Crisis

The United Nations predicts that the global population will approach 10 billion by the year 2050, which will result in an overall 50% increase in food demand[1]. Meanwhile, human civilization faces numerous challenges, one of which is the impact of climate change on agriculture. Global warming is altering weather patterns, leading to increased heatwaves, droughts, floods, and extreme weather events. Elevated temperatures accelerate evapotranspiration of plants and soils, adversely affecting crop growth. Additionally, threats such as reduced water supply and increased pests and diseases pose risks to agricultural production[1].
Simultaneously, the available land area for cultivation is decreasing. Scientific analysis reveals that approximately 33% of soils have been degraded due to human-induced land use practices, including erosion, salinization, and nutrient depletion. This diminishes soil productivity[2]. Farmers are forced to abandon degraded lands and cultivate new areas for planting or grazing. It is predicted that by 2050, human civilization could lose an additional 400 million hectares of natural habitat, equivalent to twice the size of Mexico[3]. These challenges significantly impact global food security. Declining crop yields will push more people into poverty, especially in areas already facing food insecurity. It is estimated that by 2030, approximately 43 million people in Africa alone could fall below the poverty line due to these factors[1].
All signs point to the need for humanity to reduce dependence on weather and take greater control of the process of independently producing food.

Origins

Actually, since ancient times, humans have always hoped to reduce agriculture's reliance on weather conditions and achieve greater control over food production. In China, explorations and practices of controlling crop growth environments through artificial means began early. As far back as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, a facility called 'yingjian' appeared. According to 'The Annals of Lv Buwei • Mid-Summer Chronicles, Volume Five,' 'yingjian' involved burning mulberry branches and leaves in winter to generate heat and maintain the temperature required for crop growth[4].
During the Han Dynasty, designs like 'wenpu' emerged in cold regions, utilizing piled-up cow dung to create warm beds, enabling vegetable production through winter[5]. The Ming Dynasty scientist Xu Guangqi also mentioned the structure of 'nuanwu' in his 'Complete Book of Agricultural Administration,' which enclosed space to cultivate vegetables with a greenhouse effect[6]. In the Western world, relevant records can be traced back to the Roman era; at that time, noble caretakers would move portable vegetable beds outdoors in good weather and indoors during inclement weather. When sunlight was abundant in winter, they covered the planting beds with transparent quartz and placed them outdoors[8].
Modern greenhouse-like structures resembling today's were not seen in Europe and America until around 1670, but they still relied on translucent oiled paper or glass to allow sunlight, limiting environmental control. In 1889, Liberty Hyde Bailey conducted the first experiment with artificial lighting for greenhouse planting at Cornell University, known as 'Electro-culture'[7], only about a decade after the invention of the incandescent lamp, which limited its economic feasibility. Subsequent experiments on controlled human planting were conducted, and in 1964, Emmert, an agricultural engineer at the University of California, Davis, used the term 'Controlled Environment Agriculture'[9].
In the 1970s, as controlled environment agriculture was applied in greenhouses and factory farming, the concept was further developed. In 1971, American scholar Tibbitts published a paper systematically discussing plant growth responses to environmental factors, advocating for optimizing crop production under controlled conditions[10]. Starting in the 1980s, NASA conducted a series of studies to produce food for astronauts in space; the findings concluded that agriculturally controlled environments could yield higher and more nutritious crops than traditional methods[11][12]. Against the backdrop of humanity's pursuit of highly controllable and customized agricultural environments, academia and industry have developed new subcategories and expanded concepts. The terms 'Plant Factory' and 'Vertical Farming' have emerged to denote the same concept in different ways[13].
In 1999, when Professor Dickson Despommier of Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, along with 105 graduate students, delved deep into exploring the negative effects of agriculture, they collectively conceived the innovative concept of 'vertical farms'. These farms are multi-story buildings where different crops can be grown on each level. Crops in vertical farms can be cultivated in various ways: hydroponically, where plant roots are directly immersed in nutrient-rich water; aeroponically, by spraying nutrient solution onto plant roots; or through aquaponics, where fish farming provides nutrients for plants using fish excrement. Of course, if the building design allows, traditional soil-based cultivation methods can also be used[14].
After decades of technological development, the field of plant factories reached its modern pinnacle in 2011 with AeroFarms. Located in Newark, New Jersey, AeroFarms covers 70,000 square feet and is an indoor vertical farm founded by Professor Ed Harwood from Cornell University, along with David Rosenberg and Marc Oshima. In this modern farm, rows of propagation tables are filled with leafy greens such as arugula, watercress, and bok choy, stacked up to the ceiling. All operations inside the farm are precisely controlled by computers. AeroFarms employs its patented aeroponic technology, using only 5% of the water used in traditional agriculture. From air temperature and humidity to carbon dioxide concentration, LED light intensity, and optimal moisture levels, everything is managed automatically. Biologists and botanists can monitor real-time growth data of each plant around the clock through onsite technology or mobile applications. Compared to traditional agriculture, AeroFarms achieves yields up to 400 times per square foot[15].

Prospects

As a modern agricultural production system, plant factories utilize enclosed structures and artificial lighting to provide the necessary light energy for plants, using techniques such as hydroponics or substrate cultivation for plant growth. By combining advanced technologies and control methods to simulate and optimize plant growth conditions indoors or in semi-indoor environments, plant factories achieve efficient and sustainable plant production[13].
Through vertical and stacked planting methods, plant factories maximize the use of limited space and provide precise environmental control for crop cultivation, including temperature, humidity, light intensity, gas composition, and nutrient supply, to meet the growth requirements of plants[16][17]. The significance of plant factories lies in achieving food production independent of weather, enabling human society to truly control harvests autonomously. Compared to greenhouses, plant factories use closed, insulated building structures, whereas greenhouses are often constructed using semi-transparent, heat-dissipating materials. Greenhouses rely on sunlight for cultivating various plants and are still significantly influenced by daylight seasons. In contrast to the strict environmental control of plant factories, greenhouses have more lenient climate parameter adjustments[18].
In addition to AeroFarms mentioned earlier, many other plant factory companies continue to advance technologically:
In China, both industry and academia boast leaders in the field of plant factories:

Reality Gravity Opening the Gates of Hell

Although various research units at home and abroad often make new technological advancements, the promotion of plant factories faces multiple challenges. Firstly, there is the issue of high costs associated with plant factories, which is reflected not only in the initial construction and maintenance technology investments but also in the economic viability of commercial production. As a pioneer in the field, AeroFarms projected revenue for 2021 was only $4 million, with a staggering loss of $39 million. In fact, in June 2023, AeroFarms filed for bankruptcy protection and completed restructuring on September 18 of last year.
Another typical case is AppHarvest, whose product features a mix of natural and artificial lighting along with a rainwater collection system to achieve yields up to 30 times higher than traditional agriculture. However, according to the latest data, AppHarvest's stock price is only $0.0666 per share, with both its trailing twelve months (TTM) earnings per share and dividends (TTM) showing losses, and a price-to-book ratio (P/B) of only 0.04. The company's earnings per share are -$1.16, and its net asset value per share is $1.73, with negative free cash flow for several consecutive quarters. Additionally, AppHarvest has faced investor lawsuits, alleging misleading statements about the company's operational feasibility to investors. The company had to file for bankruptcy protection to support financial and operational restructuring, a decision that further drove down its stock price. Despite successfully raising $50 million in financing in 2022 and receiving considerable funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the declining trends in its liquidity ratio, quick ratio, net asset return ratio, and total asset return ratio still reveal issues with its short-term debt-paying ability and profitability.
Furthermore, other companies also face challenges:
These problems can be attributed to three main reasons:
  1. High Initial Investment: The construction and installation of plant factories require expensive steel structures, sophisticated artificial lighting, efficient air conditioning equipment, high-quality insulation materials, and a series of sensors and automation systems for environmental monitoring and control. According to iFarm, a U.S. plant factory equipment supplier from the industry, the construction cost per square meter of planting bed space for plant factories ranges from $2,200 to $2,600, while the cost for high-tech greenhouses ranges from $250 to $350 per square meter.
  2. Ongoing Operational Costs: In addition to hardware costs, plant factories require professional maintenance by technical personnel and energy consumption to maintain a constant environment, which constitutes ongoing operational costs. As mentioned earlier, the highly energy-efficient plant factory of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences is one of the few that can achieve a level of 10 kWh/kg. Most units, as estimated by Harbick, consume energy at a rate of 19 to 23 kWh/kg when growing lettuce. From an environmental perspective, according to research from Cornell University in the United States, the carbon footprint indirectly generated by plant factories' electricity consumption is 10 times that of traditional agriculture. Additionally, the cost of indoor cultivation is more than twice that of outdoor cultivation and transportation to cities in the Midwest. As Professor Graamans' team calculated, although plant factories achieve a production area yield 2.5 times higher than greenhouses, their energy consumption yield ratio is more than 4 times higher.
  3. Mismatch Between Business Output and Costs: Currently, plant factories mainly commercially produce some common leafy vegetables, which have relatively low market value and struggle to economically support the high-tech investments and operational costs of plant factories. For example, a lettuce plant factory at Osaka Prefecture University can produce up to 5,000 lettuce plants per day, consuming 3,616 MWh annually. From an investment return perspective, even though the plant factory produces 5,000 lettuce plants per day, yielding approximately 750 tons of lettuce annually and selling at double the wholesale price in Japan, the revenue is only about 5 million RMB, meaning that the electricity cost alone exceeds the annual profit and severely limits the economic feasibility of plant factories. Many companies invest in automation and AI technology to reduce costs, but research and development costs are expensive, and the market return cycle is long. Investors misunderstand the economic benefits and technological potential of indoor agriculture, leading to expectations of quick returns that do not align with the reality of agricultural economics.

New Hope: Interdisciplinary Approach

Furthermore, as a product itself, a plant factory needs to demonstrate its value in the market to garner more support. The acceptance of a plant factory product in the market faces several challenges. When discussing this field with friends, they often ask, "How do you prove that vegetables produced in a plant factory are safe and healthy?" and "How do you demonstrate that plants produced in a plant factory are superior to those produced by traditional agriculture?"
After addressing the quality issues of vegetable production, market positioning also needs to be considered. Specifically, when building a plant factory, is it intended to compete with farmers or to provide farmers with new tools? If the former, given the principle that food is essential, why should vegetables produced by a plant factory be priced higher, of unknown origin, and nutritionally deficient? If the latter, what do farmers gain from investing heavily in a plant factory — a long return period or a more straightforward planting experience? These questions are currently unresolved in the plant factory field.
In fact, when exploring the teams behind plant factory enterprises, one often discovers that although the construction and operation of plant factories require knowledge across multiple fields including agriculture, architecture, materials, energy, and automation control, previous talent recruitment for plant factories has been primarily focused on agricultural technology, with outsourcing being the norm for optimizing construction, materials, energy efficiency, and control systems. On the other hand, even when convening a multidisciplinary team, many biological and physical phenomena within a plant factory are intricately interconnected. In fact, when constructing a plant factory, it is crucial to handle internal and external physical coupling issues properly because these directly affect the plant growth environment and factory energy efficiency.
Internal coupling issues primarily include:
  1. Interaction between temperature, humidity, and airflow: The efficiency of air conditioning system exhaust and supply determines energy consumption. Therefore, a delicate balance must be achieved through precise energy management and aerodynamic design.
  2. Impact of LED lighting: LED light sources not only provide necessary illumination but also affect temperature due to their heat dissipation effect. Optimizing light energy utilization and achieving light-temperature linkage are key technological challenges.
  3. Influence of plant transpiration: Plant transpiration alters humidity and temperature in the surrounding environment, especially when canopy structures expand, demanding higher requirements for airflow distribution. When designing, dynamic correlations between plants and environmental parameters must be fully considered to ensure uniform and stable conditions.
  4. Application of optimization algorithms: Integrating data management with environmental control systems to continuously optimize control strategies for light, temperature, water, and air elements.
  5. Real-time monitoring of plant growth: Modern agriculture seeks precise tracking of plant growth status and real-time adjustment of management measures to ensure optimal environmental conditions at each growth stage. However, the higher the requirements, the higher the cost of plant factories themselves, including maintaining temperature and humidity conditions.
External coupling issues also pose numerous challenges:
  1. Interaction between enclosure structure and outdoor climate: Designing a rational enclosure structure maximizes natural advantages while mitigating adverse weather effects on the internal environment, which is the core of light-temperature structure design.
  2. Utilization of outdoor CO2 resources: Efficiently introducing and utilizing outdoor CO2 as a gas source for plant growth, achieving a clever linkage between air and CO2.
  3. Effective use of solar energy: Fully leveraging solar radiation for illumination and converting it into electricity for plant factory use to achieve a complementary effect of light and electricity.
These aforementioned primary coupling issues can be further refined into at least two sub-problems, covering the design of efficient ventilation systems, balanced maintenance of environmental temperature and humidity, optimization and upgrading of LED lighting systems, management and regulation of heat output, optimization strategies for water supply, adaptability design of ventilation systems, integrated optimization of real-time data collection and environmental control, synchronous updates of optimization algorithms and adjustment of environmental parameters, real-time monitoring technology of plant growth status, adjustment strategies for nutrient and water supply, design and optimization of enclosure structures, effective measures to reduce climate impact, efficient introduction of outdoor CO2 and its supply-demand regulation, improvement of solar energy collection and conversion efficiency, and integration of electrical systems, among many specific directions.
Therefore, if each expert in the team only seeks the optimal solution within their own field, the superposition of everyone's solutions cannot guarantee that it is the optimal solution for the plant factory itself. This indicates that only by comprehensively considering and deeply integrating all relevant factors can humanity have the opportunity to explore and approach the optimal performance of this complex system.

Conclusion

In the vast expanse of human civilization amidst the surging waves of food demand and the dual challenge of climate change, a magnificent adventure about food self-sufficiency is unfolding. This article takes us through the intersection of history and the future, witnessing a green revolution from ancient times to the present, from theory to practice.
From the ancient "yingjian" technique of the Spring and Autumn Period to today's AeroFarms' LED photosynthesis symphony, humanity, with wisdom and creativity, has gradually unlocked nature's code, liberating agriculture from the constraints of the earth, and elevating it into a green fantasy within cities. This is not just a conquest of space but also a transcendence of time, allowing plants to dance in the vertical dimension, blooming in light and shadow.
On this path of conquering "hell"—the balance of commercial models and cost-effectiveness—we see challenges, yet we also capture sparks of hope. The pure declaration of Nuvege, the light magic of PlantLab—each name represents a legend, standing tall amidst skepticism, flourishing in adversity, demonstrating the immortal power of innovation and resilience.
And for those temporarily fallen warriors, like Fifth Season and IronOx, although their explorations were not perfect, they illuminated the path for those who follow, reminding us to seek that delicate balance point in the fusion of technology and nature—efficient yet environmentally friendly, economic yet sustainable.
Ultimately, the story of plant factories and vertical agriculture is a symphony of poetry about dreams and reality. It teaches us that even in the face of challenges akin to "hell," we should continue this green romantic voyage with a graceful posture, carrying an infinite longing for the future. Because we believe that in the harmonious resonance of technology and nature, a new agricultural era will emerge—one that nourishes humanity while nurturing the Earth. 🚀🌿🌟

2024.05.01 19:52 DrLadyJay Countertops in St John’s

Hi there! In the process of moving to St John’s and wondering about kitchen renos. If you’ve recently replaced your countertops with granite, quartz, marble, or corian, about how much did you need to budget to do so? The kitchen in question is on the more compact side. Just wondering how much the average kitchen countertop costs there, as we’ve been told it can cost 20K for materials (because of the nature of such things on an island). In contrast, materials and install where I previously lived (when we renovated in 2014) cost around 5K. Looking for a rough estimate and perhaps a recommendation for where to buy. Thanks!
