Adept Big Ones gone
2024.05.19 18:21 jmastro35 Adept Big Ones gone
So I was reading the bungie notes for the new DLC and I noticed they were getting rid of adept big ones. The notes said there would be a boost to make up for it but I noticed for some weapons there was no powerful boost to damage. I am thinking mainly for my zaoulis and wardens law. Did I miss the HC orange bar buff in the notes or did HCs adept HCs get screwed?

2024.05.19 18:12 xeros3D Artisan Zero: The Ideal Blend of Speed and Control
| Image credit to: daavryl // Original Post: https://x.com/daavryl/status/1767242609599152432/photo/2 Introduction Hey gamers! đ Just wanted to share my experience with the famous Artisan Zero! During these 5 months i had the Artisan Zero XSoft and the Mid in my mousepad rotation, im pretty sure to have spent enough time to make this "review" or at least to express my opinion over this pad! Hope you will find it useful :) Artisan đŻđľ Artisan is a renowned Japanese brand known for producing high-quality mousepads. Since 2002, they have been providing top-of-the-line products, earning a solid reputation in the industry thanks to their excellent build quality and continuous research to improve the performance of their products. S - 24x21x0.4/3 M - 32x24x0.4/3 L - 42x33x0.4/3 XL - 49x42x0.4/3 XXL - 50x49x0.4/3 XSOFT - 4mm SOFT - 4mm MID - 3mm Artisan Zero ăźă Circular knitting (polyester) Black // Daidai Orange Artisan Zero is the slowest and most famous gaming mousepad among all Artisan products! Its surface is the slowest, offering unique control that many players love. This mousepad can be seen as an upgrade to the famous Steelseries QCK or the celebrated Zowie G-SR. In short, it's perfect for those seeking stability and control. What has made this mousepad so famous and widely used, even at the highest levels, is the balance between speed and control. It provides an optimal glide for fast mouse movements while ensuring superior control for slower, more detailed movements, allowing the crosshair to go exactly where it should. Additionally, thanks to its Japanese Poron base, the pad is impossible to move, guaranteeing stability even during the most frantic movements. Please take in mind that this is not a slow pad as described by a lot of people, is a control pad which is very different My experience with the Artisan Zero lasted about 5 months, first with the XSoft model (0.4mm) and then with the Mid version (0.3mm). I mainly played FPS games like Battlefield V and Overwatch 2, where tracking and flick shots are crucial. Before each gaming session, I did 5 minutes of Kovaak just to warm up and get back into the game mechanics. I would describe my experience with these mousepads as very positive, though I must highlight the difference between the XSoft and Mid versions. There's a drastic change, especially noticeable with the Artisan Zero compared to other pads in the series. The stopping power is significantly different between the two thicknesses, as shown on the site's legend - Artisan. The question naturally arises: which version should you buy? Based on my experience, I would recommend the Soft and Mid versions. I would stay away from the XSoft, especially if you use dot skates. Itâs impossible to appreciate the quality of the XSoft without full skates due to its very soft surface (XSoft = Extra Soft) that hinders the glide of dots. Additionally, for those who play without sleeves, the Mid version is even more comfortable, allowing the wrist to relax completely due to the minimal height difference from the gaming surface. N.B. This is not to say that I don't recommend the XSoft version, on the contrary, my experience has not been bad at all, I simply feel the Soft or Mid version is better especially for the mice and types of skates that I use - Advice
- Buy the Daidai color. Besides the aesthetic aspect, the Daidai color shows surface development that limits the notorious and annoying characteristic of Artisan mousepads, which is getting dirty easily with dust and hair (especially from pets like dogs and cats).
- Store the mousepad in its case to avoid damaging it and the surface, and of course, follow the instructions found on the back of the box.
- Clean with a damp microfiber cloth. If necessary, wash with lukewarm water and soap, nothing more, nothing less. Itâs important to let it dry in a low-humidity area and, most importantly, NOT exposed to the sun.
- Where can i buy an Artisan Zero?

2024.05.19 17:39 Julieannburgers Who is this gorgeous jumping creature? Is she a bold? She's brown and black, has a orange triangle on her back and is very adorable. I have a bold and it's mainly black with white.
2024.05.19 16:19 MapachoCura Soul Quest found at fault for DEATH of Brandon Bagley 6 years after
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the jury returned a $15,048,526.25 verdict against Soul Quest Church of Mother Earth, Inc. and Christopher Young (owner of Soul Quest) for their legal liability in causing Brandon Begleyâs death. The jury concluded that Soul Quest was 40% liable ($6,000,000+) and Mr. Young was 60% liable ($9,000,000+). The jury completely rejected the defenseâs contention that Brandon was negligent in causing his death (0% liability).
Brandonâs parents were completely vindicated after 4 years of litigation and 6 years without their son. Mr. Young admitted, at trial, that he got it âwrongâ and had no idea what severe, acute hyponatremia was (despite it being the most common injury from kambo and a common injury from Ayahuasca as well). The jury awarded $7,500,000 to each of Brandonâs parents.
Mr. Youngâs misrepresentations on the Netflix series about Brandonâs alleged âliesâ about a non-existent prior medical history were false. Chris Youngs instructions to Brandon caused the hyponutremia, and his refusal to call medical attention as he had seizures meant medics were to late to save his life. Youngs attempts to self treat Brandons seizures actually made them worse since he had no idea what was going on despite hyponutremia being the main risk trained practitioners look for (Young was offering Ayahuasca and kambo together without being trained in either).
Hopefully this is a lesson for those rushing to serve medicines without having any training or qualifications. Let those who take it seriously enough to get trained serve medicines so we can keep people safe and know that you can be held liable if you hurt someone through your ignorance when you claim to be a provider. Hopefully this is also a warning for people thinking about attending Soul Quest or working with Young as well - he will make up his own ideas about medicines he doesnt know and if he harms anyone he wont call medics and will lie in court to protect himself (not ethical or safe to drink with).
The verdict can be found in the Orange County Civil Clerkâs website. Case number is 2020-CA-3387 (Judge Eric J. Netcher)

2024.05.19 15:48 SmurfJegeren Dark Rituals III sight is overly broken
In every single match Ive played as of late, people are running the Holotherm SZ from Dark Rituals III. I mainly play HC, and Im somewhere between "not completely useless" and "fairly decent for an old man" in skill. But while there is a tiny counter to the RGL spam everyone hates(me included) in the trophy system. Ive noticed that the already OP red on white background holosight in last kill recaps, isnt even countered by Hijacked IFF strobe. I assume this is a bug, as the IFF strobe literarily has "Undetectable by AI targeting systems, and thermal optics In the last kill recaps, Im still highlighted by the SZ Holotherm when the Dark Rituals III skin is on. And its a real issue when the smoke screens keep being spammed as I improve and matchmaking decides that now I should deal with smokescreen and RGL spam.
And to add insult to injury, the bundle isnt available to purchase anymore, so even if one would want to invest 30$ to have a better chance at fighting this, you cant anymore. Furthermore, the actual thermalsight is not colourblind/colour weakness friendly(most of the thermalsights arent). Making the SZ Holotherm entirely useless to me as the orange and orange blends together.
I know this is probably just ranting, and that thisll never be fixed, but with the amount of people using this, with no way to counter it, it should at the very least be fixed so that IFF strobe counters it properly
Link to a picture for those who wasnt aware of this MW2 bundle and its problematic holotherm:

2024.05.19 15:38 tr5761 Update: 1 year (ish) on, first garden
| Update from this post https://www.reddit.com/GardeningUK/s/ZZiMqAL7dF 1 year on. I have loved pottering away in my first garden over the last year. Thought it would be worth doing an update on what I've managed to achieve so far. I thought id taken previous advice to hand and hadn't taken on too much but looking back, it seems like a lot! Progress: Landscaping - half a path - 2 veg patches - fence - took down greenhouse (or rather a storm did) - chopped an Ash down that was swamping the laburnum. There's a full size tree along with 4 other self seeded young trees at last count - considering coppicing them for firewood or trying to remove...? Planted - 2 apple trees - fruting this year already :D! - a cherry tree - raspberry- not sure I picked the right spot might be too shaded by firs - black currant - cherry laurel and a red robin photinia as screens for privacy - splashed out on established plants with these - viburnum - to block the wall and eventually privacy - copper fern - clematis Ă2 white and red, honey suckle and winter jasmine, oyracantha along new fence - honey suckle thriving, clematis OK but not thriving so far, still early. - hibiscus and daphne in existing bed - native tree collection from woodland Trust including Holly, hawthorn, blackthorn, Hazel, crab apple, dogwood, dog rose planted mainly in the bottom end of the garden which I'm gonna leave wild/turn to woodland. - bulbs/flowers - foxgloves - looking good, latris spicita,, gladiolus, allium moly - no sign yet too early. - eponymous japonica - struggling in a North East facing spot but clinging on - hops, thriving in shade of house will use and summer shade over a pagoda in future - aquilegia seeds - from my dad who got them from his dad :) - wildflower seed mix scattered liberally Other - started second compost heap (even got it briefly hot!), used existing compost in the garden - tamed 3 Bramble patches (very much won the battle but not the war) including liberating 3 rose bushes white pink and red, what might be orange iris', and some other pretty but unknown to me flowers and plants - let the grass grow all last year (partly deliberately partly just being too busy) and was rewarded with array of bugs and flowers. This seems to have paid dividends this year too already with buttercups, dandelions, daisies, herb robert, thistle and a load of other stuff I've got no idea what it is. Gonna let 2/3rds grow again this year but keep a portion trimmed so we can enjoy it a bit more. - tried to dig out one of the fir trees on the left, gave up after seeing how extensive root system was, I don't like them but they're effective screens and keep some greenery in winter. - tamed buddliea to get bustier rabbit- coming back well Plans for next yeabeyond Landscaping - finish path - new greenhouse - patio and glass roofed pagoda that we grow hops up for shade in summer but have clear in winter so we keep the light - log store lean-to - more permanent compost heap Planting - probably rest to see how existing plants do - plum tree/other fruit tree or bush - some more screening plants on left hand side - Virginia creeper to cover next doors grey walled out building - fascia cutting from dad and bottle brush - shrubs after laburnum on right, all existing shrubs are on neigh ours side so want to future proof just in case! submitted by tr5761 to GardeningUK [link] [comments] |
2024.05.19 15:30 xiaolii [H] Lots of Games [W] Trade for Games or Paypal (EU)
Last Updated List: 19/05/2024 I'm primarily looking to trade for games from my
wishlist, otherwise I am also open to selling them. I am not interested in games I already have and all games I'm getting are for me and activated on my own account. Other than that feel free to offer your list of Steam games and something I may not have and fulfills my criteria I could/would be willing to trade for it/them.
- To trade you must respond to this thread first, I will not respond or accept anyone outside of this thread, only exception are unless we've traded more than once before.
- Only interested in trading for games on Steam.
- I don't do Humble gifts whether receiving or giving, all my keys are in unrevealed form right after purchase.
- No interest in any keys from an unofficial retailesource (aka grey market), curatoreviewer keys (aka beta/reviewebeta-testing/etc.), abandonware, keys for games that are already free on Steam itself, Steam profile-limited keys, and only slight interest in VR-titles and/or de-listed games (no banned games).
- Anything marked as wishlist/paypal, it's self-explanatory and I won't look through lists.
- All my keys are EU keys, if you are outside of EU, make sure you double check for any region locks for your country. For quite a few which I was aware of I already listed the region lock, however this is not my responsibility as I did specify the key's region.
- When buying, I only accept payments in Euro's. Minimum purchase of âŹ1,00. Fees are on buyer.
If you're either trading or buying please state the game(s) you are interested in and your offer (game(s)/list/price).
Info: I kindly ask of you is to be reasonable when making offers to make it a fair trade for both of us.

Let's have a good exchange/trade!

2024.05.19 15:01 Happy-Study-981 [PEMBETULAN] Boikot Menurut Pandangan Islam
Bukan boikot takda hala tuju. Sekali dengan Rajutan dari Ustaz Muzuck sekali bab Hukum Fiqah Rujukan Jabatan Mufti Negeri Selangor: https://www.muftiselangor.gov.my/2024/01/11/40-taudhih-al-hukmi-boikot-menurut-perspektif-islam/ submitted by Happy-Study-981 to NegarakuMalaysia [link] [comments] |

The vibrant orange synthetic handle made it easy to locate when I was outdoors, especially on my hunting trips. The clip and spey blades were incredibly versatile, making it an all-around useful tool for my projects around the house, outdoors, and hunting. One of the standout features was the Tru-Sharp Stainless Steel blades, which held their edge much longer than conventional steel. Plus, the extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance added to the durability of this folding knife. It served as a great everyday pocket knife for me, and I found myself reaching for it often. However, I did notice that the knife's closed length was slightly larger than I would have preferred for pocket carry. Also, the non-locking slip joint lock felt less secure compared to locking mechanisms. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Case Knife Blue Bone Trapper proved to be a reliable and beautiful addition to my collection. https://preview.redd.it/29po69wjbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51dc46cf756e55d62991b81c56c4cf0c9c9f95fd I recently had the chance to use the Case XX USA - Small Congress Dark Red Bone CA31949 Carbon Steel knife in my daily life. The first thing that stood out to me was the carbon steel blade, which offered a sharp and sturdy cutting surface. The Dark Red Bone handle provided a comfortable and solid grip, perfect for various tasks. One of the most impressive features of this knife was its handcrafted design, showcasing the artistry and attention to detail of the U. S. A. -based craftsmen who created it. The carbon steel sheepsfoot blade and pen blades were mirror finish, giving the knife an elegant and unique look. However, it's worth mentioning that the knife is not lightweight, as it weighs 1.2 oz. While using it, I also noticed the nickel silver bolster(s) and the inlay shield, adding a touch of sophistication to this functional tool. The boxed packaging was an added bonus, making it a great gift for someone special. Overall, I found this Case XX USA - Small Congress Dark Red Bone CA31949 Carbon Steel knife to be a high-quality and reliable tool. Its distinctive design and solid construction make it a worthwhile investment for those who value craftsmanship and durability in their cutting instruments. https://preview.redd.it/f1q6zwckbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fd9cd53e57899855c1b36bbba96e05ca8db5013 I recently tried out the Navy Blue Bone Stockman Pocket Knife, and I must say, I was impressed. From the moment I took it out of the package, the quality was apparent. The handle, made of jigged bone with a Tru-Sharp SS blade, felt comfortable in my hand, and the blue color added a nice touch to its appearance. One of the best features of this knife is its versatility. The 6.5 cm blade is just the right length for everyday tasks and can easily be carried in my pocket. The weight, at 65 grams, is also perfectly manageable. It's perfect for everyday use and outdoor adventures. While I loved the knife's construction, sharpness, and size, there was one thing that bothered me. The knife was delivered by a less-than-ideal shipping method, which caused it to be placed in my neighbor's mailbox instead of mine. I would have preferred it if the shipping was more streamlined and the knife was delivered directly to my doorstep. Overall, I'm really happy with my Navy Blue Bone Stockman Pocket Knife. It's well-crafted, functional, and a great addition to my collection of everyday carry items. https://preview.redd.it/fg3dvaqkbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55c659394d2dfab6949e357865dd906634d4a7fc Recently, I found myself using the CASE Mini Trapper pocket knife in my daily life. This versatile tool has made all the difference in my outdoorsy adventures, as it fits perfectly in the pocket and is easy to access when needed. The bright yellow handle really stands out, not only making it easy to spot in a backpack or bag but also adding a touch of personality to it. I've noticed the knife has two full-length blades, the 'clip' blade and the 'spey' blade. The clip blade is perfect for detail work or cutting small items efficiently, while the spey blade is an all-purpose utility blade that can handle most tasks. The knife is constructed with the robust chrome vanadium steel, known for its excellent edge-holding ability and easy resharpening. Although the steel isn't as resistant to rusting as stainless steel, it adds to the knife's unique charm, making it a lifelong companion. However, an aspect that I found less appealing was the susceptibility to potential rusting. While it may not be a deal-breaker for some, it's worth considering for those who plan to use the knife heavily or in humid environments. Nonetheless, its solid build, smooth operating mechanism, and durable construction make this pocket knife an undeniable staple in my kit. If you're looking for a reliable tool that adds a touch of style while still maintaining practicality, the CASE Mini Trapper pocket knife is worth a try. https://preview.redd.it/y3ekeq2lbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea6624e11be0fd788cc9c63eaffb42d4d65560b7 I've been using the Case Trapper Pocket Worn Old Red Bone Knife for a while now, and I must say, it's a beauty. Every time I take it out of my pocket, I can feel the quality in my hands. The red bone handle is not only eye-catching but also provides a comfortable grip. The Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades are another highlight - they're sharp and hold their edge really well. The knife is perfect for those who enjoy trapping and skinning small game, as it's lightweight and has both a Clip and a Spey blade. However, there is one downside. The knife is quite large, which can be a bit inconvenient when carrying it around in your pocket. But overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. It's like having a piece of art with me at all times that also happens to be a useful tool. https://preview.redd.it/vvmax3mlbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f17c182514a061f16dcbe3d9b5439c504af232b4 A couple of months ago, I decided to try out this Case Large Stockman Amber Bone pocket knife, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Firstly, the amber jigged bone handle not only adds an elegant touch but also provides a perfect grip. This knife was designed to serve many purposes, and it shines in each one. The sheepsfoot blade was a game-changer for me, making it smooth and convenient to use, perfect for carving and getting those clean cuts. But the icing on the cake is the clip blade, which is incredibly versatile, coming in handy for all the everyday tasks around my place. One thing that did catch me off guard was the resilience of the chrome vanadium steel used in making the blades. While some might worry about its susceptibility to rust and discoloration, I found it easy to sharpen and maintain. The thing that I absolutely love about this pocket knife is its construction and build quality. It is solid, and it oozes class. However, if you're a fan of stainless steel, you might not appreciate this aspect as much. In conclusion, I'd say this product is the epitome of quality and craftsmanship. It's an all-in-one knife that's both a collectible and a utility knife. Sure, it has its pros and cons, but the experience of using it outweighs any minor drawbacks. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! https://preview.redd.it/z8rqmacmbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=350adc9791761d429710cb0d736aa8fb0fbc1bf3 I recently had the pleasure of using this Case Trapper Angel Wings Folding Knife, and let me tell you, it's a beauty to behold! The stained glass angel wings on the handle make this knife truly unique. The natural bone handles, featuring a color wash and black definition, catch the light perfectly. With a Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel blade, I found that this knife held its edge quite well and was surprisingly sturdy despite its lightweight build. The knife comes with both a Clip and a Spey blade, each serving a different purpose. The Clip is excellent for intricate tasks, while the Spey is versatile enough for any everyday use. One particularly impressive aspect of this product is its construction with Case Tru-Sharp stainless steel. This material ensures the blade stays sharp for longer and offers impeccable corrosion resistance. The quality of this knife is evident from its handcrafted design in the United States. In terms of packaging, the product arrives in a sleek black velvet box, perfect for storing and displaying the knife. Overall, my experience with this Trapper Angel Wings Folding Knife has been nothing short of delightful â a must-have addition to any enthusiast's collection. https://preview.redd.it/fg3hujrmbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8073c912ee58c0889b5f888606310ef4dcc24623 I recently had the chance to try out the Case Small Congress Jigged Bone 58422, and let me tell you, it's quite a find. This little pocket knife is not only a perfect addition to my everyday carry, but it also has a unique charm to it. The curved handle, made from gray bone, fits my hand nicely and gives a sturdy grip. The craftsmanship is evident in the way it was handcrafted in the United States â you can tell a lot of care and attention went into making this pocket knife. The blade itself is made of carbon steel, which might seem a bit heavy for some, but I found it to be quite sharp and durable. It comes with two blades â a sheepsfoot, perfect for trimming hooves, and a pen blade for lighter work. However, as much as I love this pocket knife, it's definitely not for everyone. Not only does it weigh a little more than other pocket knives, but the carbon steel blade might also be a bit of a risk when it comes to rust. All in all, the Case Small Congress Jigged Bone 58422 is a fantastic choice for those who enjoy a traditional, compact pocket knife with a little extra heft and sharpness. But be sure to take proper care of it, and you'll be rewarded with a reliable and functional tool. https://preview.redd.it/b6qcxg7nbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88f48c3a6901a74672abf5f713046383eb8a8560 Recently, I had the chance to try out the Aquarius Trapper from W. R. Case & Sons, a premium American brand of handmade knives. This versatile pocket knife, crafted from the highest quality materials, instantly caught my attention with its durability and performance. Made by skilled artisans in the United States, it offers a wide range of features that make it a must-have for anyone in need of a reliable and durable tool. One of the standout features of this Trapper knife is the Tru-Sharp surgical steel blades that provide excellent cutting capabilities. The clip and spey blades are a nice touch, offering versatility for different tasks. Additionally, the handles are made of durable Corelon Aquarius, which adds to the knife's overall durability and quality. While I loved the attractive design and vibrant color options, I did notice that the knife seemed a bit prone to scratches when carried in my pocket. This prompted me to suggest that the manufacturer consider providing a cloth pouch to protect the knife during transportation. Overall, the Aquarius Trapper from Case Cutlery is an impressive tool, crafted with precision and care that makes it stand out among other pocket knives in the market. https://preview.redd.it/m2h3bnrnbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2696bbfdc4c11458976f65eacdc82e16dc56bf40 Imagine walking into a dimly lit room, the scent of old leather and polished steel lingering in the air. In one corner, nestled among antique weapons, you find a knife that instantly catches your eye. It's a Hawkbill Knife from the War Series, designed in the image of a classic Iraqi Freedom pattern. The blade is made from Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel, a choice that ensures durability and precision. The handle, carved from natural bone, fits comfortably in the hand, a testament to the craftsmanship of its creators. Handcrafted in the United States, each knife bears the mark of its origin - a symbol of quality and pride. With a closed length of 4.13 inches, this Hawkbill Knife is compact yet potent. The spey blades, mirror finish stainless clip, and nickel silver bolster showcase the attention to detail that has gone into its creation. As you hold it, the Iraqi Freedom handle embellishment stands out, a unique touch that adds a layer of depth to your experience. Unfortunately, there are a few aspects that could be improved. The weight of the knife at 4.0 ounces might not be suitable for everyone. Moreover, the overall design may not appeal to all, but for those who appreciate the history and craftsmanship that goes into each piece, the Hawkbill Knife from the War Series is truly special. https://preview.redd.it/8i04li8obd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d42bc6e9137ec3737e055b54d1dcac40e74357c8 I've been using the Antique Bone Trapper for a few weeks now, and it's been quite a pleasure. The handle in jigged bone, with a rich, caramel brown tone, exudes an elegant, classic feel that makes you want to hold it and use it every day. Plus, the Tru-Sharp SS blade adds durability and smoothness to cutting through tasks. However, I do wish the knife had been sharpened out of the box - just a bit of extra effort on my part before it could perform at its best. Don't let this minor inconvenience deter you from trying it out. The Antique Bone Trapper is a fantastic addition to any collection or daily toolkit. https://preview.redd.it/17jzskmobd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa2352668a7c7181424c6f62c66d4bd9522f35af I was intrigued by the Case XX 02845 SM Congress Blue Bone knives. The mirrored stainless steel blades and blue jigged bone handle were visually appealing. But the slipjoint lock was a bit unwieldy. It took some practice to get the hang of it. The Tru-Sharp Surgical Steel blades held their shine for a reasonable amount of time, which was convenient. However, for a small knife with a 3-inch closed length, it lacked maneuverability in some situations. Nevertheless, I appreciated the American craftsmanship that went into making this compact, pocket-friendly knife. https://preview.redd.it/8xdr9pwobd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb4f0959165a7352bf3932b58d6fa9c1a0205122 I recently had the chance to try out the Case XX Mulberry Synthetic 4254 Trapper. It's a handsome little knife, featuring a beautiful Mulberry synthetic handle that gives it a lovely, slightly textured grip. The Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades are quite sharp, and the spey blades are perfect for those who like a little added functionality. One of the things I appreciated most about this knife is that it's handcrafted right here in the United States. The attention to detail is evident, from the mirror finish stainless clip to the nickel silver bolster. However, something I noticed that might be a drawback for some is its weight - at only 3.7oz, it's a pretty light knife in comparison to others. Using this knife daily, I found it quite versatile and practical. But overall, the Case XX Mulberry Synthetic 4254 Trapper is a product that combines both beauty and functionality, making it stand out among its competitors in the market. https://preview.redd.it/dtly2b9pbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f126e1ec8dda1b145022f9e7c22d91dbc9cafb63 I had the opportunity to test the Case 32402 Mini Trapper, a tiny pocket knife packed with impressive features. One of the highlights that stood out to me was the Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel, which provided durable sharpness that lasted through various tasks. The Navy Blue Synthetic Handle offered a comfortable, ergonomic grip, allowing me to navigate my way around the miniature knife with ease. In addition, it added a touch of style to the design, making it stand out. However, I did experience a small disadvantage - the Mini Trapper's manual-open design made it a bit challenging to access and open with just one hand. Despite this minor inconvenience, I still found great value in the United States Air Force W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. 32402. Overall, it was a reliable and aesthetically pleasing addition to my daily life. Buyer's Guide A Case Hawkbill Knife, also known as a pen knife or a pocket knife, is a versatile and practical tool. It offers a variety of functions, including cutting, opening, and even breaking objects like nails. This buyer's guide will provide an overview of essential factors to consider when purchasing a Case Hawkbill Knife, as well as some general recommendations. Materials https://preview.redd.it/jj9ke12sbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f437e0147541de2c0e36542b8d78f424aab20e2a One of the first things to consider is the materials used to make the knife. Good-quality knives are typically made from carbon steel, stainless steel, or high-carbon stainless steel. These materials provide durability, corrosion resistance, and sharpness. Consider the climate where you'll use the knife, as well as the type of objects you'll be cutting. Stainless steel may be a better choice if you live in a humid or salty environment. Some handles are ergonomic for comfortable use, while others have built-in features for opening cans or bottles caps. Brand Reputation Another important aspect to consider is the brand reputation. Case has a long history of producing high-quality knives with excellent value for money. However, new brands or lesser-known manufacturers may offer excellent products as well. Research online reviews, customer testimonials, and manufacturer's warranty policies to ensure that you're getting a reliable and durable product. https://preview.redd.it/rf402ghsbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9eb2f5b6b0a5d2a3f5f09657904d9a9b0479b502 Maintenance Tips To extend the life of your Case Hawkbill Knife, proper maintenance is essential. Always clean the knife by wiping the blade with a cloth and removing any debris on the handle. To prevent rust, you should avoid submerging the knife in water or storing it in a humid area. Regularly re-lubricating the hinges and locking mechanism is also recommended. For the blade, sharpen or hone it as needed to maintain its cutting edge. Price The price of a Case Hawkbill Knife can vary based on factors such as materials, design features, and brand reputation. Shop around for the best deals and consider your budget when purchasing one. Remember that spending a bit more on a well-built knife may save you money in the long run by offering better durability and requiring fewer repairs or replacements. 2024.05.19 09:56 herozorro Para report on UberEats algo
2024.05.19 09:19 AdTrick7283 The Bollywood film âMohabbateinâ (2000) is a groundbreaking sex-ed film about male masturbation.
Spoilers ahead.
Bollywoodâs roster of adult films is a barren wasteland, dotted by the occasional Tusshar KapooMilap Zaveri release. Yet, there may be hope for the genre as long as trailblazing production house YRF keeps churning out experimental masterpieces. For well before there were Kyaa Kool Hain Hum, Masti, and Ragini MMS, there was Mohabbatein. As on several other occasions, YRF embraced the role of innovator and at the turn of the millennium brought to Bollywood what is till date the industryâs only sex-ed film. Unlike Bollywoodâs other attempts at adult cinema, Mohabbatein seeks to educateânot titillateâas moustachioed maestro Aditya Chopra examines attitudes towards male masturbation, specially amongst adolescents. To avoid offending conservative sensibilities, this sociological examination is cleverly hidden within a family-friendly romantic drama tale and presented in allegorical terms.
Mohabbatein features an ensemble cast, led by Amitabh Bachchan and DDLJ background actor Shah Rukh Khan, with Aishwarya Rai as a guest star. Although the cast also includes celebrated thespians Uday Chopra, Jugal Hansraj, and Shamita Shetty, a complete listing is omitted here for the sake of brevity. Bachchan plays Narayan Shankar, headmaster of the prestigious Gurukul boysâ college. Shankar is a stickler for rules, and imposes upon his students the need for tradition, prestige, and discipline. His rules extend to a blanket ban on romantic relationships, which forms the crux of the filmâs conflict. SRK plays Raj Aryan, a music teacher and disgraced Gurukul alumnus who has returned to the institute under anonymity, with the single goal of melting Shankarâs icy heart and impressing upon him the power of love. Finally, Aishwarya Rai plays the deceased Megha, Shankarâs late daughter and the love interest of Raj Aryan.
In a figurative sense, Gurukulâwith its forced confinement, all-male student body, and rigid rulesâis a portrayal of restrictive societies that enforce adolescent sexual repression through gender segregation and harsh oversight. Narayan Shankar, as headmaster, is the enforcer of said oversight and abides by his oppressive regulations to set an example. Gurukulâs official mottoââParampara Prathishta Anushasanââmay be shortened to âPP Anushasanâ, the word âPPâ being slang for a manâs meat pole of love and âAnushasanâ meaning discipline or regulation. Thus through its motto, the institution reveals its intention to exercise total control over its studentsâ genitalia.
Metaphorically, Narayan Shankarâs rejection of all things romantic/sexual, and his stubborn opposition to any form of changeâstated by him multiple times throughout the filmâis an allusion to his opposition to puberty and the sexual changes it brings along with it. His choice of garments throughout the filmâdull black trousers coupled with matching black sherwanisâprevents viewers from getting a view of his lush curves and adds to his thoroughly sexless demeanour. Additionally, Shankar takes pride in his habit of staring right at the sun for several minutes every morning, which is a clever allusion to the popular myth about masturbation causing damage to eyesightâa lifetime of total abstinence from masturbation has prevented Shankarâs eyes from taking any damage, and therefore he can stare full-bore into the sun for as long as he pleases. Given all this, it is unknown how he fathered a daughter in his state of permanent prepubescence, so it may be deduced that he somehow reproduced asexually. In sum, Shankar is a man struggling to indefinitely delay his own sexual maturity, and thereby desperately clinging on to a simple, childlike innocence of all sexual matters.
Raj Aryan exists as the foil to Narayan Shankar, having arrived at Gurukul with the singular purpose of altering Shankarâs stunted outlook towards sexual maturity. In an allegorical sense, he portrays the biological agents and changes that act as messengers of puberty and sexual maturity, such as gonadotropin-releasing hormones and testosterone. Visually, his urbane, well-dressed appearance, along with his suave and cultured manner, stands in contrast to the dull cluelessness of Narayan Shankar and his wards, and is indicative of his sexual confidence and maturity.
Furthermore, his choice of musical instrumentâthe violinâis hardly coincidental. A violin requires precise, well-timed stroke-like movements to be made using a long, cylindrical piece of wood. The sight of Raj Aryan lounging comfortably in a chair and playing the violin with long, languid strokes, whilst wearing an expression of both contentment and pleasurable exertion, is certainly suggestive without appearing crass. The fact that his lover Megha is deceased does not decrease Raj Aryanâs passion in the slightest, as she makes an appearance in his imagination every time he leans back, closes his eyes, and handles his violin. Through such a combination of clever visual double entendres, the film conveys Raj Aryanâs use of masturbation and masturbatory fantasies as a healthy outlet for sexual expression and release.
To Gurukulâs ignorant masses, Raj Aryan is nothing short of a revelation. Like a masturbatory Pied Piper, he draws the ignorant, curious, and hypnotized students to his lessons, where he impresses upon them the need to break free of Gurukulâs restrictive confinements and open their hearts and prostate glands to the power of love. In a metaphorical sense, he encourages the students to accept the changes coursing through their bodies, and let puberty begin to run its course.
To best educate Gurukulâs students, Raj Aryan organises a secret dance ball, inviting over students from a neighbouring womenâs college. Considering the allegorical nature of storytelling in Mohabbatein, the college and its students are likely imaginary, and the secret dance ball is actually an educational musical lesson on some of the more practical and logistical aspects of masturbation. YRF films have always been renowned for making their song-and-dance routines an integral part of the story, and Mohabbatein is no exception to this tradition of artistic excellence. As Gurukulâs students shuffle into the dance ball, Raj Aryan takes the centre stage and croons, âAankhein khuli ho ya ho band/Deedar unka hota hai/Kaise kahoon main o yaara ye/Pyaar kaise hota haiâ, with the lyrics making it clear that while there are many paths to self-pleasure, the path one takes does not matter so long as the destination is the same. With sufficient practice, a master of the art may hone his skills to the point where imagination is all that is required. Meanwhile, the less-skilled are free to keep their eyes open and rely on whatever visual aids they may prefer. Bearing in mind the wide variety of means and techniques employed, it is not for one man to tell another how best to beat his meat.
This educational demonstration, however, is cut short upon the surprise appearance of Narayan Shankar, who discovers Raj Aryan's attempt to arouse Gurukulâs pupils to rebellion against his rules. Shankar uses his authority to turn Raj Aryanâs movement temporarily flaccid, but a defiant Raj Aryan takes up Shankarâs opposition as a challenge, and vows to bring about love in every heart, a cramp in every right hand, and a scraggly hair sprouting from every smooth chin. Raj Aryan begins his campaign by asking Gurukulâs pupils to each write a love letter upon orange maple leaves. The orange maple leaf is a common visual theme throughout the movie, and for good reasonâa maple leaf with its five lobes bears an uncanny resemblance to an outstretched palm with its five fingers, coloured an inflamed red perhaps due to excessive use. Thus, the act of writing a love letter upon an orange maple leaf is a clever visual metaphor for the students actually expressing gratitude and affection towards their own hands for the newly-discovered joys their hands have provided them with.
However, the ever-vigilant Narayan Shankar eventually catches onto Raj Aryanâs actions, and realizes that his fearsome gaze is no longer capable of wilting studentsâ defiant boners. Faced with this prospect, a desperate Shankar begins expelling students, hoping to discourage their peers and Raj Aryan, and therefore stave off the advent of puberty and sexual maturity amongst his wards. This leads to the filmâs climax, wherein a gratuitously dripping-wet Raj Aryan meets Shankar, and defiantly tells him that whilst he may have won the battle, he has lost the war, for despite all his authority, Shankar will be forever left alone, because he lacks the powers of imagination and fantasizing that Raj Aryan possesses. Raj Aryan then reveals to Shankar that despite the death of Megha (Shankarâs daughter, it may be remembered), he still fantasizes about her with perfect clarity. However, as previously mentioned, Shankar had likely reproduced asexually to sire Megha, and asexual reproduction leads to genetically-identical offspring. A horrified Shankar realizes that therefore, by masturbating to Meghaâhis cloneâRaj Aryan has been indirectly masturbating to Shankar himself for the past several years. Left shaken by this discovery of the transitive properties of masturbation, a broken Shankar is unable to recover from his shock and resigns as headmaster of Gurukul, leaving Raj Aryan to take the helm and finally bring about his purpose to a glorious conclusion.
Over two decades after release, Mohabbatein stands alone in Indian cinema. Few films have ever attempted such deftly-layered storytelling in treatment of such delicate subject matter. Indeed, if the bar were ever raised, it was only by YRFâs own other creations in subsequent years. No other films, however, have ever had the courage and wit to portray sex-ed as Mohabbatein so well did, and if the subject shall ever make an appearance in the educational curriculum, there can be no doubt that Mohabbatein shall be required viewing for all students, educators, and educational policymakers.

With the knife's high rating, it's clear that this product is well-loved amongst customers, and its ease of use and long-lasting durability make it a great investment for anyone seeking a reliable outdoor knife. https://preview.redd.it/e8owjjc30c1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3aeb556334f2685c04484d3634fa32be4c65bd13 The Civivi Midwatch Damascus Twill Carbon Fiber is a must-have for anyone who appreciates a knife that's as functional as it is beautiful. I've been using this knife for a couple of weeks now, and I must say, it has truly lived up to all my expectations. The full-tang construction and Damascus steel blade provide a level of durability and sharpness that I've come to expect from high-quality fixed blade knives. One feature that really caught my eye is the twill carbon fiber handle. It not only adds an element of beauty to the knife, but it also provides a comfortable and secure grip, ensuring that your hand doesn't slip even when the task at hand requires a firm grip. While the knife is perfect for tactical purposes and outdoor activities, I do wish it came in a larger size, as I sometimes find myself yearning for a little more reach. However, this minor drawback is easily overshadowed by the overall quality and design of the knife. If you're in the market for a unique and reliable fixed blade knife, the Civivi Midwatch is definitely worth considering. https://preview.redd.it/f6a78ax30c1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dff9773bdaabdfb4d45e92007cc0563ad088c280 One sunny afternoon, I found myself in need of a pocket knife while exploring a local nature reserve. I had my eye on the Kansept Bevy, a sleek and stylish slip joint folder known for its exceptional build quality and precise manufacture. With its under three-inch, non-locking blade, the Kansept Bevy is perfectly legal to carry in the UK and I was able to confidently bring it along with me on my adventure. The blade is made of S35VN stainless steel, one of the sharpest, hardest, and most durable options on the market. I was blown away by how effortlessly it sliced through branches and other obstacles I encountered. The clip point style and generous handle pay homage to traditional knife designs, but with the added bonus of high-tech carbon fiber construction. This lightweight yet strong material not only feels fantastic in hand but also adds a touch of style that sets the Kansept Bevy apart from other pocket knives. The handle is securely secured with a nylon and leather pouch for safe storage and convenient carrying. Overall, using the Kansept Bevy pocket knife was a true delight. Its combination of modern materials, traditional design, and reliable performance made it a welcome addition to my daily life and travel endeavors. https://preview.redd.it/9rzk6hd40c1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c16c0d1925d7b60baab5c21b9cc1d212bb36a63 Savor the perfect cut with the Benchmade Meatcrafter. I recently had the pleasure of using this knife for cooking at home and it was nothing short of a game-changer. The sleek, striking black and orange design caught my eye instantly, but it's the functionality where it truly shines. The razor-sharp blade made of cpm s45vn stainless steel and the lightweight carbon fiber handle made boning and filleting a breeze. It's built specifically for those push cuts, which is perfect for my daily cooking needs. I've been extremely happy with my choice and wouldn't want to go back to a less efficient and less satisfying cutting experience. https://preview.redd.it/fhqhk6n40c1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99fdc123db5374196f30480bf95b3a9f1b9a157a I was recently introduced to the Fox 573 Carbon Fibre pocket knife, and let me tell you, it's a game changer in the world of every day carry knives. At only 1.1 oz, this lightweight companion is perfect for slipping into the deep recesses of your pockets. The blade, made from 440C stainless steel, is sturdy and sharp enough for cutting tasks but not too intimidating for the average guy. The back lock mechanism is firm and secure, providing peace of mind when you're using this knife day in and day out. But it's the handle that truly steals the show. Crafted from carbon fiber, it's both strong and stunningly beautiful. Top it off with a lanyard hole and a carbon fibre effect leather pouch, and you've got a knife that's every bit as practical as it is elegant. Of course, nothing is perfect. While I appreciate the Italian craftsmanship, I can't help but wish for a few more color options for the sheath. Still, overall, the Fox 573 Carbon Fibre is a reliable and sophisticated addition to any pocket knife enthusiast's collection. Buyer's Guide When looking for the perfect carbon fiber knife, there are several key factors to consider to ensure you end up with a high-quality product that suits your specific needs. https://preview.redd.it/ev25t3350c1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ce085e5f67b1c2581cd8a48c73c7f1e1f378590 Material Quality The material quality of a carbon fiber knife is of utmost importance. Look for knives made from top-grade carbon fiber, which is strong, lightweight, and very durable. A quality knife will have a uniform texture and color, free of defects like scratches, blemishes, or excessive wear. Blade Type and Shape Carbon fiber knives come in various blade types, such as straight or serrated, and shapes, like drop point, tanto, or spear. Consider the purpose of the knife and your preferred blade type and shape that fits your needs. For example, a drop point blade is great for general-purpose tasks, while a spear point blade is ideal for piercing. https://preview.redd.it/qhj9zqk50c1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec178153e3246251e6432d4521bc2d0510f4d8de Weight and Balance One of the main benefits of carbon fiber knives is their lightweight nature. When selecting a carbon fiber knife, ensure it strikes the right balance between being light and having a substantial feel. A well-balanced knife will reduce fatigue during long tasks and provide excellent control throughout diverse applications. Handle Comfort and Ergonomics The handle of a carbon fiber knife is just as important as its blade. It should provide a comfortable grip and be easy to handle, even in wet or greasy conditions. Ergonomic designs with textured grips help reduce the risk of slipping during use. https://preview.redd.it/wqkni3u50c1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55c6ae919ee350914cff52d5a3d25f3e5ae4b400 Maintenance and Care Carbon fiber knives require specific care and maintenance due to their unique composition. They should be washed and dried thoroughly after every use. Keep them away from excess moisture and oil, and regularly clean and maintain the blade to avoid corrosion and prolong its lifespan. Brand Reputation and Reviews Lastly, research the brand and its reputation within the market before making a purchase. Read reviews and product comparisons from other users to gain valuable insights into the knife's performance, durability, and overall satisfaction. https://preview.redd.it/85g9rw860c1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e32472a342318b4d23efa1b75a08c937572c4160 FAQ What are the benefits of using a carbon fiber knife? Carbon fiber knives offer several advantages, including durability, lightweight, corrosion-resistance, and a sleek appearance. These knives are designed to provide a strong and long-lasting cutting edge, making them ideal for tough tasks such as cutting through bones and tendons. The lightweight nature of carbon fiber also makes them comfortable to use and easy to carry, while the corrosion-resistance ensures they maintain their quality even when exposed to harsh conditions or frequent washing. Lastly, the modern and stylish design of carbon fiber knives makes them a great addition to any kitchen or culinary collection. What is the difference between carbon fiber knives and stainless steel knives? The primary differences between carbon fiber and stainless steel knives are their composition and properties. Carbon fiber knives are typically made from a combination of carbon fiber and steel, resulting in a strong and lightweight blade. They require special care due to the carbon fiber composition, which can result in damage if dropped or improperly cared for. On the other hand, stainless steel knives are made from a single, alloyed steel composition with added elements of other metals to improve their properties. This makes them more resistant to corrosion and rusting, making them a good choice for everyday use and in humid environments. Both types of knives have their own unique benefits and drawbacks, making it essential to choose the right one depending on your specific needs and preferences. What is the care and maintenance required for carbon fiber knives? Carbon fiber knives require some special care and maintenance to ensure their longevity and performance. It is recommended to hand wash and dry the knife after use, avoiding placing it in a dishwasher. It is essential to use a non-abrasive, mild detergent and avoid using steel wool or harsh abrasive materials, as they can damage the carbon fiber. Additionally, avoid soaking the knife in water or leaving it in a wet environment for extended periods, as this can weaken the carbon fiber and result in rusting or corrosion. Lastly, it is crucial to store the knife in a clean, dry, and protected area to prevent damage and maintaining the knife's sharpness and edge. How much do carbon fiber knives typically cost? The cost of carbon fiber knives can vary depending on factors such as the brand, design, and size of the knife. Generally, carbon fiber knives are considered a premium product and can range from mid to high price points. While some budget options may be available, it is essential to remember that investing in a quality carbon fiber knife may be more cost-effective in the long run due to their durability and performance. Are carbon fiber knives suitable for professional chefs or experienced cooks? Yes, carbon fiber knives are popular among professional chefs and experienced cooks for their durability, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant properties. These knives can provide a precise and controlled cutting experience, making them suitable for various culinary tasks such as preparing meats, vegetables, and other ingredients. Additionally, the sleek design of carbon fiber knives adds a touch of elegance to any professional kitchen or cooking environment. I chose the Gerber Armbar Scout multi-tool for its promise of versatility and compactness. I was pleasantly surprised by the tool's sleek design, which conveniently fit into the pocket of my backpack. One of the first features I noticed was the stainless steel construction, giving the tool a sturdy feel while keeping it lightweight. One of my favorite aspects of the Gerber Armbar Scout was its ability to open various packages with minimal effort. The can/package opener was a lifesaver during a camping trip when I needed a quick snack. The 2 1/2'' plain edge blade proved to be sturdy, allowing me to make precise cuts with ease. However, I did encounter some difficulties with the locking mechanism of the blade, which required a certain level of force to engage. While this wasn't a dealbreaker, it did cause a little bit of frustration during use. In conclusion, the Gerber Armbar Scout multi-tool serves its purpose as an essential companion for outdoor enthusiasts. Its small size and versatility were impressive, but I did encounter minor annoyances with the locking mechanism. Overall, I would recommend this tool to anyone looking for a compact and reliable multi-tool to take on their next adventure. https://preview.redd.it/gpkbke1nyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e199e58ae71262c188260a8a345f7c02982fce07 As an emergency situation arises, every moment counts. That's when the CRKT Exitool comes in handy, offering a fast and reliable solution for cutting seat belts and breaking windows. The slim profile makes it easy to conceal, while the textured grip ensures a firm hold. In my own experience, the Exitool has been a lifesaver, with the glass-reinforced handle providing durability and the safety cone tip cover protecting the window breaker while stowed. The only downside? . The compactness might make it a bit challenging for those with larger hands to use. Overall, the Exitool is a reliable and versatile emergency tool that helps you stay prepared for any unexpected situation. https://preview.redd.it/hif5giinyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74bf93d396fca0e79ec922f48a65446e4a9a7498 I recently had the opportunity to try out the Gerber Crisis Hook Knife, and I must say, it's a lifesaver in emergency situations. This sleek and durable tool is designed specifically for quickly and safely cutting through seat belts, clothes, and even heavy straps or cords. Its lightweight design and smooth operation make it a game-changer when time is of the essence. One of the most notable features of this knife is its integrated oxygen tank wrench, which adds extra versatility and functionality in life-saving situations. The glass breaker pommel included in the package also comes in handy when encountering obstacles that may hinder your ability to assist someone in need. While the Crisis Hook Knife has several impressive features, it's not without its drawbacks. The friction lock sheath can be tricky to attach to certain surfaces, and the clip may not be as convenient as advertised. Additionally, the knife's handle, while comfortable and easy to grip, could benefit from a more secure attachment to a tactical belt. In conclusion, the Gerber Crisis Hook Knife is an invaluable tool for first responders and anyone who needs to quickly and safely cut through various materials in emergency situations. Its lightweight design, versatility, and straightforward operation make it a must-have in your arsenal. Just be prepared to address some minor issues, such as the friction lock sheath and the clip's functionality. https://preview.redd.it/nahmifunyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86acc36d0c88d927f0399439b7e160c9bb8d4172 I recently tried out the Al Mar K1001BKG Stinger Keyring Knife in Green. The first thing that caught my attention was the compactness of the knife. With it being such a small size, it's incredibly easy to discreetly attach it to my keychain while still remaining convenient to access whenever it's needed. The TPR overmolded grip proves to be an excellent feature, providing a non-slip hold, even while my hands are sweaty or in wet conditions. The dual-injected PP sheath adds an extra layer of protection, making it suitable for everyday use without worrying about damaging the blade. The blade itself has an impressively sharp edge, allowing me to open letters and boxes with ease, yet also offers a sturdy protection for instances of self-defense. Being an advocate for quality tools, I found the Stinger to deliver that expected performance from the reputed AL MAR brand. However, I noticed that for harder tasks, the blade feels somewhat delicate. One would have to handle it carefully or opt for a more robust knife for such situations, potentially compromising the ultralight key ring knife design. Despite this, overall this knife performs well, and its convenient size and efficient design make it a must-have for those who value versatility and efficiency in a concealed blade on their keychain. https://preview.redd.it/olocg5aoyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a65054b883be0c86543d02809eafc56eab63c03 Using an HMMS Stainless Climbing Carabiner in my daily life has been quite an experience. This multi-functional tool has proven to be extremely versatile, from its use as a knife to its handy LED light. The knife is sharp and easy to flip out, making it an essential part of my survival gear. The LED light is a lifesaver when the power goes out, and the Phillips and regular screwdriver heads are a great addition for those quick fixes on the go. The glass breaker is also convenient, though I haven't had to use it yet. One thing that stood out is the carabiner's simple and lightweight design, making it the perfect keychain or hanging tool for my camping trips and other outdoor adventures. Despite its compact size, the carabiner is surprisingly strong and easy to use, with the locking mechanism providing a secure fit. Overall, the HMMS Stainless Climbing Carabiner is an excellent addition to any survival kit, and I highly recommend giving it a try. https://preview.redd.it/nuu683koyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41480f81113890fc79d8cf5a91df38a752e0c7a2 I recently had the pleasure of trying out Brouk & Co's Multi-function Carabiner Tool, and let me tell you, it's the ultimate handyman's companion! . This tiny titan is super portable, fitting perfectly in my backpack for those unexpected situations on the go. With an impressive array of features, I found myself reaching for this bad boy more times than I ever thought possible. Its sturdy design has held up beautifully through various camping trips and household projects. While its size is convenient, it's not always the easiest to maneuver with larger hands, but overall, this carabiner tool offers exceptional utility and convenience. Whether you're an avid outdoor enthusiast or just someone in need of a versatile tool for daily life, the Brouk & Co Multi-function Carabiner Tool is the perfect fit. https://preview.redd.it/h30ubgtoyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f935ac96b73bdae1601c8b9b779db2c2347e0b89 As someone who loves being prepared for any situation, I was thrilled to try out the Sheffield Wilco 4-in-1 Carabiner Multi-Tool. The anodized black aluminum carabiner is both lightweight and versatile, making it perfect for everyday carry. The convenience of foldable flat-head and Phillips screwdrivers, along with a sturdy 3-inch serrated blade, ensures that I can tackle tough jobs with ease. While I appreciate the strength provided by the 420 stainless steel attachments, I did notice that the carabiner isn't suitable for weight support, and it is best to use it more for its attachments. However, considering the multiple functionalities it offers, this small drawback seems like a fair trade. Overall, the Sheffield Wilco 4-in-1 Carabiner Multi-Tool is a reliable and efficient tool that has become an essential part of my daily life. https://preview.redd.it/shmwro6pyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24b2f235811faab265e25c7fb6e1521235d6d985 As a seasoned outdoor enthusiast, I recently got my hands on the Dakine Hook Knife and let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations! This hook knife is designed for easy accessibility and it certainly lives up to its promise. It can be attached to your harness at any point for a quick and convenient deployment, making it a must-have tool for those seeking adventure and the great outdoors. One of the main features that stood out to me was its dual stainless steel cutting blades that effortlessly sliced through even the toughest cut lines. The anodized aluminum handle not only adds a sleek touch, but it also provides a comfortable grip that makes it a breeze to use. Additionally, the included sheath for easy harness attachment is an added bonus, guaranteeing the safe carrying of this versatile tool. While I was impressed by the performance and convenience of the Dakine Hook Knife, I did notice a downside: oxidation. After just six months of use, the aluminum handle started to display signs of oxidation. Of course, this won't affect the functionality, but it does make me wonder whether a more durable material like titanium or carbon fiber might be a better long-term choice. Despite this minor issue, the Dakine Hook Knife has become a trusted companion on my various outdoor excursions. Its user-friendly design and powerful functionality have really made a difference in my adventures, whether I'm camping or trekking. For anyone in need of an easy-to-carry hook knife that gets the job done, I would highly recommend giving the Dakine Hook Knife a try. https://preview.redd.it/pryyo7ipyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4730a2b8a093aa6ad0d6a241a041367976f047c I recently got my hands on the Dark Energy Carabiner Pro 5-in-1 Multi Tool, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for my outdoor adventures. With its all-metal design, it's sturdy enough to hold up to some serious wear and tear. The quick-snap blade is both smart and safe, and it feels really nice in your hands. I love having the convenience of two screwdrivers, a bottle opener, a knife, and even a window breaker all in one little package. Plus, the integrated carabiner makes it effortless to attach to my backpack or belt. Overall, the Dark Energy Carabiner Pro has been my go-to tool for every camping and hiking excursion. Highly recommend! . https://preview.redd.it/n96ugxxpyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba1741d05b433d300f405d90e3e5e01d7e0c2556 When I received the Armbar Slim Cut Multi-Tool, I was excited to try out its features. Its sturdy design caught my attention, and the burnt orange color added a pop to its sleek appearance. This is a multi-tool designed for the adventurous, and it didn't disappoint. Let's talk about the scissors, one of the prominent features of this tool. It worked effortlessly for cutting various materials, from fabric to paper. The plain edge blade was also impressive, easily piercing through tough materials. Despite its size, it's surprisingly powerful and perfect for cutting tasks on the go. The tool's design, with large tool tabs and access points, was user-friendly. It allowed me to switch between the scissors and the blade without any fumbling. The bottle opener was a convenient addition, adding versatility to the tool. However, it wasn't all smooth sailing. The scissor's spring mechanism felt a bit flimsy, and I had to be careful while using it to avoid any accidents. Also, the blade's deployment could be smoother for a more natural and comfortable use. Overall, the Armbar Slim Cut Multi-Tool is a robust and versatile everyday carry tool. It's perfect for those who need a reliable, lightweight, and multifunctional item for various tasks. Despite a few drawbacks, I'm confident that this will be a valuable addition to many people's toolboxes. https://preview.redd.it/14mhb8hqyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15c3daa01b69fe09b64c9bc0fe7d8003b042526a The Carabiner Keychain Multitool is an 8-in-1 lifesaver that's perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Its sleek design makes it easy to carry around, and its durability ensures it will withstand even the toughest conditions. The sharp stainless steel blade is perfect for a variety of tasks, while the aluminum hand holder provides a sturdy grip. The multi-functional design includes a hanging carabiner, Phillips screwdriver, slotted screwdriver, bottle opener, and more, making it a versatile addition to any EDC (Everyday Carry) setup. Despite its robust build, the Carabiner Keychain Multitool is surprisingly lightweight, making it a great choice for everyday carry. However, it's essential to remind others to exercise caution while using the sharp blade. Overall, this compact, versatile tool is a must-have for anyone seeking survival gear or everyday convenience. https://preview.redd.it/hcunm9rqyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5917d0f3445ce17fe753e7ee55d8787c9d9716b The Civivi Polymorph carabiner multitool has become a handy companion in my outdoor adventures. The anodized titanium body is quite durable and serves as a perfect casing for its versatile features. The carabiner clip is a fantastic addition, allowing me to attach the tool to my backpack or gear, keeping it close at hand when needed. One of the most useful aspects is the 9Cr18MoV scalpel blade, which makes this multitool an excellent option for opening bottles or cutting through some rope. However, the hex bit driver lacked enough leverage for me to fully appreciate it during my camping trips. The choice between the plain titanium and bronzed titanium finish adds a personal touch to the overall design, making it a stylish and practical accessory for any outdoor enthusiast. While the Civivi Polymorph has its pros and cons, I find it a valuable addition to my outdoor gear lineup. https://preview.redd.it/nuijt92ryb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10b0d2ee30d342e1beadfc2edfa19192fd654b49 The Cabela's Silver Pocket Tool was an unexpected pocket companion in my daily life. It was a great multitasker that never failed to provide convenience on-the-go, and its anodized aluminum handle always gave me a sense of sturdy stability. I found myself using it more than I expected, especially the knife, file, and flat-head screwdriver. While the larger tools were great to have, the smaller ones sometimes felt a little lacking. The screwdriver and corkscrew had considerable wiggle room, which made me hesitant to use them on heavy-duty tasks. But in all honesty, for a tool of this versatility and portability, it wasn't too surprising to come across these slight disadvantages. The Cabela's Silver Pocket Tool, in all its multi-tasking glory, did become a handy accessory to keep in my bag or backpack. I never regretted having it by my side during unexpected camping trips or when I needed to open a stubborn lid. But it's a device that's best suited for those who appreciate its versatility over precision. Honestly, it's great to have such a multi-tasker with you, but it's not without its drawbacks. It's a case of compromises, as it seems. With the Cabela's Silver Pocket Tool, you're sacrificing a bit of precision for that all-important portability factor. Is it worth it? That depends on your own priorities. But for those who need a tool that can do a little bit of everything in a pinch, this is indeed the handy gadget you've been hunting for. So, all in all, the Cabela's 8-In-1 Pocket Tool might just be a perfect fit for your next adventure. But remember, it's not without its imperfections. It all comes down to balancing your needs and understanding its limitations. Buyer's Guide A carabiner knife is a versatile tool designed for outdoor enthusiasts and survivalists. 2024.05.19 08:06 Mantis_Shrimp47 The monster in the sand dunes turned my brother into a bird
"You gotta know that there's an art to it, Ezra," Hitch said, cutting another piece of duct tape.
The sleeves of his weather-beaten coat were shoved all the way up his arms, to stop the fabric from falling over his knuckles while he was working, and goosebumps lined his skin. He was strapping a rubber chicken to the back of his truck, over the lens of the shattered backup camera, with the legs pointing down so that they hung a couple inches above the ground. There were dents in the hood from the crash last week, and scratches along the door from scraping into a curb. The chicken, hopefully, would keep him from breaking anything else.
"You can't go cheap," Hitch said. "The cheap rubber chickens only make noise when pressure lets go. That's no good. As soon as I back up into something, I want this chicken to be screaming like itâs in the depths of hell."
âSure thing,â I said in a monotone, leaning against the side of the truck.
There were scrambled electronic parts piled in the back of the truck, the innards of a radio, a broken computer, tangled wires, a couple loose pairs of earbuds. He found the parts in alleyways or bummed them off his friends for a couple bucks or stole them from the vacation homes that were left empty for most of the year. Then he sold them for a profit at the scrapyard. Hitch had bounced between minimum-wage jobs for a while after high school, spending a couple months as a bagger at the grocery store or as a seasonal worker at the farm two hours down the highway. He'd never stuck with it. At the very least, the scrapyard got him enough money to eat and occasionally spend a night in a motel when he got tired of sleeping in his car.
Hitch pressed the last piece of tape in place and grinned up at me. "I've got something for you, duck."
The nickname came from when Iâd broken my leg as a child and waddled around in a cast until it was healed. I hated it with a burning passion, and I glared at Hitch with the ease of twenty-one years of practice. He had a duck tattoo at the base of his thumb that heâd gotten in a back-alley shop as a teenager. He said that heâd gotten it to remind him of me, and the fact that I hated the nickname was just a bonus. It was shaky-lined, with an uneven face, but he loved it anyway.
The handle stuck when Hitch tried to open the door, a consequence of the rust collecting in the crevices of the car and running down the sides like blood from a cut. The car groaned when the door finally popped open, a metal against metal screech that had me flinching away. Hitch dug through the cluttered fast food containers in the passenger-side footwell, eventually coming up with a crinkly paper bag. He waved away the flies buzzing around the opening of the bag and held it out to me.
The last time Hitch had brought me food, Iâd gotten food poisoning because heâd left it out in the midday sun for two days. The donut was squished slightly, and the icing was stuck to the bag. I still ate it, grimacing at the harsh citrus flavor. Taking Hitchâs food was an instinct engraved from the days when Dad had given us a can of kidney beans for dinner and Hitch had drank the juice, leaving the beans for me.
I rarely went hungry anymore, three mostly square meals a day and granola in my pockets just in case, but habits didnât die easy.
These days, Hitch only brought me food when he wanted my help, like when he saw a place he wanted to hit but was worried about doing it alone.
I got in the car, like I always did.
We drove past the cluster of seafood-themed restaurants with chipped paint decks, the beachfront park where there were always shifty-eyed men sitting under the slide, the single room library where all the books had been water damaged in the flood last year. The change was quick as we drove across Main Street, heading closer to the beach. The roads were freshly paved, the concrete a smooth black except where the sun had already started to pick away at it. The three-story homes lining the sides of the street were crouched on elegant stilts, with space underneath for a car or three. Most of the garages were empty, with the lights off and curtains drawn in the house. Come summer, the streets would be swarming with tourists and vacationers, but until then, most of the buildings nearest to the beach were unoccupied.
Hitch stopped as the sun started to go down at a house that was leaning precariously out towards the beach, tilted ever so slightly, the edge of its foundation buried in the shifting sand of the beach. It certainly looked deserted, with an overgrown yard and blue paint peeling off the door in sheets.
Hitch took his hammer out of the backseat, hoisting it over his shoulder. It was two feet of solid metal with rags wrapped around the head to muffle the sound of the hits. Hitch squared up, bending his knees and holding the hammer like a baseball bat. Before he could swing, though, the door creaked open on its own, the hinges squeaking. The house beyond was dark enough that I could only make out general shapes, glimpsing the curve of a sofa to the left, what was maybe the shimmer of a chandelier on the other side.
Hitch lowered his hammer, looking vaguely disappointed that he didnât get to use it. âThatâsâŚweird as hell.â
âMaybe the deadbolt broke, maybe they forgot to lock it, it doesnât matter,â I hissed, checking our surroundings for other people again. âJust hurry up and get inside before someone calls the cops.â
Hitch flicked the lightswitch on the wall, and the lights flickered on. They were dim, buzzing audibly and blinking off occasionally. The walls were plastered with contrasting swatches of wallpaper and splattered with random colors. There was neon orange behind the dining table, a galaxy swirl in the kitchen, and on the ceiling there was a repeating floral pattern covered in nametag stickers. Each of the stickers was filled out with The Erlking. Chandeliers hung in every room, three or four for each, and rubber ducks sat on every table. A miniature carousel sat in the corner along with a towering model rocket.
Sand was heaped on every surface, at least a couple inches everywhere. It was piled in the corners and stuck to the walls, and it covered the floor in a thick blanket. Our hesitant steps into the house left footprints clearly outlined in the sand.
Hitch took a cursory look around and headed immediately for the TV mounted on the wall. âLook out the windows and tell me if anyone is coming.â
I shook the sand out of the blinds and pulled them open, then had to brush sand off of the window before I could see anything.
Hitch was quick, practiced at finding and appropriating the things that were worth taking. He came back to me with an armful of electronics and chandeliers, dumping it at my feet before turning to head deeper into the house again.
There was a thump, somewhere upstairs, and then footsteps, slow and deliberate. Hitch froze at the threshold of the room, then ran for the door with me just ahead of him, sand flying out from under our feet.
My hand was almost brushing the doorknob, close enough that I could see the light from the streetlamp outside streaming in through the cracks in the door. My fingers touched the wood and it gave under my touch, becoming malleable and warm. I yelped, stumbling backwards, and the door started to melt. The paint ran down in thick drops, pooling at the bottom of the door, and the wood warped like metal being welded. The soft edges of the door ran into the walls until there was no sign of an exit ever being there.
âWell, well, well,â said a cultured voice with just an edge of snooty elitism. âWhat do we have here?â
The man was well over eight feet tall, with long black hair covering his eyes. He was wearing a yellow raincoat with holes cut out of the hood to accommodate the deer antlers jutting upwards from his head. There was sand settled on his shoulders and hovering around his head like a halo.
âWho the fuck are you?â Hitch said, inching towards a window.
He smiled, just a little bit, and his teeth shone in the dim light. âI am the Erlking.â
Hitch nodded, and seemed about to respond. I grabbed him by the hand and pulled him towards the window. I could feel sand in the wind roaring against my back as the Erlking growled in anger, the grains scraping harshly against my cheeks.
We were almost to the window when Hitch was ripped away from me, and I came to a startled halt. The sand had formed long grasping arms that pressed Hitch against the floral wallpaper. His wrists were held tight, and as I watched, a sandy hand wrapped around his mouth and forced its way between his teeth. He gagged, and sand trickled out of the corners of his mouth.
The Erlking strolled towards him, not seeming to be in any sort of rush. âYou know, Iâm not very fond of your yapping.â
He made an idle gesture and the sand wrapped around my ankles, tethering me in place.
âI yap all the time,â Hitch said. âThree-time olympic yapper, thatâs me. Best to just let me go now and save yourself some trouble.â
The Erlking tapped a manicured nail against Hitchâs mouth, hard enough to hurt, judging by the way he flinched away. âBut why would I ever let you go when Iâve gone to this much trouble to catch you and your sister? Itâs so hard, these days, to find people that no one will miss.â
Hitch struggled against the sand, trying to escape and failing. âWhat do you want with us, then? You just said it, weâre nobody.â
âIâm fae, dear one,â the Erlking said. âI get my power from my followers. And I think that you two will make lovely additions to my flock.â
He flicked Hitch's nose and Hitch gasped. Feathers started to form on his arms, popping out from under his skin in a spray of blood.
Hitch pushed off the wall, using his bound hands as a fulcrum, and his knees crashed into the Erlkingâs stomach. The Erlking fell backwards, wheezing, and the sand around my ankles loosened.
Hitch made desperate eye contact with me as feathers shot up his neck and jerked his head towards the window. The message was obvious. Run.
The last thing I saw before crashing out the window and into freedom was Hitchâs body twisting, his arms wrenching into wings and feathers covering every inch of his skin. By the time I landed on the concrete outside, he was a small black bird, held tightly in the Erlkingâs hands. The whole building was sinking into the ground, burnished-gold sand piling up over top and streaming from the windows.
Thirty years later, I saw Samâs Supernatural Consultation and Neutralization written in neat, looping handwriting on a piece of paper taped to the door. The tape was peeling at the corners and the paper was yellowed with age, but there was obviously care put into the sign, in its perfectly centered text and looping floral designs drawn over the edges in gold marker.
I knocked, hesitantly, drawing my woolen coat closer around my shoulders. Iâd bought it as a fiftieth birthday gift for myself, and I took comfort in the heavy weight of it over my shoulders.
âComing!â someone called from within the depths of the office.
There were a couple crashes, and the sound of paper shuffling. Eventually, the door was opened by a young woman with ketchup stains on her shirt and pencils stuck through her hair.
âHi, Iâm Sam, I specialize in supernatural consultation and hunting, how may I help you today?â Sam said, customer-service pep in her voice. She stood in the doorway, solidly blocking entry into the office.
âMy name is Ezra, Iâm for a consultation. I emailed you but you didnât respond?â I shifted in place, suddenly feeling awkward.
âOh! Yeah, I lost the password for the email ages ago. Sorry for the bad welcome, I get lots of people thinking Iâm crazy or pulling a prank and harassing me.â
She ushered me into the office, clearing papers off one of the chairs to make room for me to sit down. There was a collection of swords along one wall, all of them polished to perfection, several with deep knicks in the metal which indicated that theyâd been used heavily.
âSo what can I help you with?â Sam asked again, more sincere this time.
âThirty years ago, my brother was turned into a bird,â I started. Iâd told this story so many times that it barely felt ridiculous to say anymore. I was used to the disbelieving looks, the careful pity. But Sam just nodded along, face open and welcoming.
âIâve almost given up on finding him, at this point,â I said. âBut I saw your ad in the newspaper, andâŚhere I am, I suppose.â
âHere you are,â Sam echoed, smiling. She pulled one of the pencils out of her hair and took a bit of paperwork off of one of her stacks, turning it over so that the blank side sat neatly in front of her. âTell me everything.â
I told Sam everything, and she wrote it all down, pencil scratching along the paper.
The last part of the story was always the hardest to tell. âI left him there. I ran and I didnât look back.â
I had been to dozens of detectives and investigators over the years, once the police had dropped Hitchâs case. Iâd been to professional offices with smartly-dressed secretaries and met scraggly men in coffee shops. All of them had given me the same look, pity and annoyance all mixed up into a humor-the-crazy-lady soup. Sam, though, just seemed thoughtful.
Sam leaned forward and put a hand over mine, carefully, like she thought that I would pull away. âSometimes you have to leave people behind.â
I tightened her hold on Samâs hand and drew it towards me, like I could make Sam listen if only I squeezed tight enough. âBut thatâs why Iâm here. I donât want to leave him behind.â
âOkay then. Iâll do my best to help you.â Sam agreed, finally. Then she paused, and said softly, âYou knowâŚI think I met your brother once. He might have saved my life. Heâs certainly why I started in this business.â
âReally? What happened?â I asked.
This is the story that Sam told me, related to the best of my abilities:
It was a new moon, so the only illumination came from the stars gazing idly down and distant porch lights shining across the scraggly brush of the dunes. Samâs neighbors were decent people who cared about baby turtles, so the lights were a low, unobtrusive red, and the ocean sloshed like blood. Sam walked on the beach almost every night, drawing back the gauzy pink curtains and clambering out her bedroom window. She didnât often bother to be quiet; her mama worked the late shift and came home exhausted. As long as Sam got home before the sun, her mama would never find out that she paced the shoreline and dreamed of inhaling sand until her lungs became their own beach.
The sky was lightening. The sun would come up soon, and that meant Samâs time on the beach was over. She needed to get back to her real life, go to her fifth grade class and stop that nonsense, as her mother would say. Her mother loved to say things like that, pushing Sam into her proper place by implication alone.
âSheâs a good kid, of course, but sheâs a bitâŚâ Her mother would trail off there, usually getting a commiserating expression from whoever she was talking to. Sam always wondered how that sentence would have finished. Sheâs a bit strange, maybe. Sheâs a bit intense. Sheâs a bit abrasive. Sheâs quiet enough but when Jason tried to steal her pencil in math class, she stabbed him in the hand so hard that the lead tattooed him.
Her mother was better, for the most part. The days of her stocking up the fridge, and leaving a post-it note on the counter, and leaving for days at a time were gone. But Sam still stepped around the place on the kitchen tile where her mother had collapsed and caved her head in, even though the bloodstains had been replaced with new tile.
âYour auntie got an abortion, you know,â her mother had said from her place on the couch, slurring her words. âPill in the mail and then bam, no more baby.â
She had clapped her hands together to illustrate her point. Her mother jerked forward and grabbed Sam by the wrist, then, staring up at her until Sam met her eyes.
âI love you, you know? But sometimes I wonderâŚâ She settled back onto the couch. âYeah. I wonder.â
Sheâd gotten up, then, back to the kitchen. Sheâd been stumbling, a shambling zombie of a woman. The ground in the entryway of the kitchen was raised, ever so slightly, and her mother went down hard. Her head cracked against the tile, chin first, and she didnât move.
Sam had been the one to call the ambulance. She had stared at the scattering of loose teeth on the ground while she waited, and considered what her life would be like with a dead mom. Not so bad, she thought, and immediately felt guilty for it.
Her mom was better, now, for the most part. But Sam still stepped around the place on the kitchen floor where she had collapsed. There was still a matchbox hidden under her bed with the gleaming shine of her motherâs lost teeth, two canines and a molar. It was nice, having a piece of her mom to keep. Even if she left again, Sam would still have part of her.
Sam sighed, and turned away from the ocean. As she faced towards the low dunes further up the beach, she saw a sandcastle sitting nestled among them. It was such a strange sight that her eyes skipped over it at first, almost automatically, disregarding it because it was so out of place.
Sam found sandcastles out on the beach sometimes, usually half-collapsed and on the verge of being washed away by the waves, but she had never seen anything like the sandcastle in front of her. It was life-sized, something that wouldnât have looked out of place in the Scottish highlands, with spires shooting up above her head and carefully etched out bricks lining each side. The front wall was dominated by an arched set of double doors, twice her height, with a portcullis nestled at the top, ready to be dropped. All of it was lovingly detailed, down to the rust on the tips of the towers and the wood grain of the door. It was made out of wet, densely-packed sand, held together impossibly. It had not been there two hours ago, when she had come to the beach.
There was a bird sitting on the overhang of the door, small and black.
As soon as she took a step towards the sandcastle, the bird shook out its feathers and swooped down towards Sam, landing at her feet with a little stumble.
âHey, kid, get out of here,â said the bird.
Sam closed her eyes, very deliberately. When she opened them, the bird was still there. Sam considered herself a very reasonable person, so she immediately drew the most logical conclusion. The bird was, she was almost certain, a demon.
âTrust me, you donât want to run into Mr. Salty, the queen bitch himself,â the bird said.
âMr. Salty?â Sam inquired, polite as she knew how to be. She edged to the side, trying to get a good angle to kick the bird like a soccer ball.
The bird did something similar to a wince, all its feathers fluffing up then settling back down. âAh, donât call him that. Heâd turn you into a toad.â
The bird gestured with its head, towards the looming sand structure. âThatâs his castle. Heâs in there, probably scuttling along the ceiling or some shit because thatâs the sort of weirdo he is.â
Sam nodded, encouraging. She pulled back her foot and lined up her shot, the way sheâd seen athletes do on TV. She aimed right for its sharp beak and let loose. The bird saw it coming, its beady eyes widening, and it cawed in distress. It flapped away, avoiding her kick only to fall backward into the sand in a scramble of wings.
âWhatâs your fucking problem?â it squawked. âI was trying to help you!â
âI donât need the help of a demon,â Sam yelled, trying to remember the exorcism that her mama had taught her once, because her mama believed in being prepared for anything.
âIâm not a demon,â the bird said indignantly.
It was at about that moment that Sam gave up and just decided to roll with it.
âWhat are you, then?â Sam asked.
The bird shuffled its clawed feet, looking about as awkward as it could, given that it didnât really have recognizable facial expressions. âTechnically Iâm a familiar of the Erlking, prince of the fae, but I prefer to be called Hitch.â
âYou canât blame me for assuming, though,â Sam said. âRavens do tend to be associated with murder.â
âHey, excuse you,â Hitch said. âIâm a rook, not a raven. Ravens are way bigger.â
âSure,â Sam said, not really paying attention. Her eyes had caught on the details of the sandcastle, and she was transfixed by the slow spirals of the sand, the strange beauty of it. She found herself stepping towards the great doors, lifting a hand to knock, and as she did, the sand warped in front of her eyes, heaving itself towards her with bulging slowness. The door creaked open before her, revealing a vast, empty room. Just before she stepped inside, she felt a piercing pain in her foot, and she yelped, leaping backwards.
Hitch pecked her again, really digging his beak in. âDonât be an idiot.â
Sam glared at him, rubbing her foot. About to retort, she finally really took in the room inside the sandcastle, and her words died in her throat.
There was a body just past the threshold of the door, face down and limbs hanging limp at its sides. Long hair splayed out in a halo around its head.
âDonât,â Hitch warned, suddenly serious. âJust leave, kid, I mean it. Iâve seen too many people go down this road and you donât want to be one of them.â
Sam ignored him. She made her way across the beach, slipping with every step. The sand felt deeper, piling up around her feet in silent drifts. She picked up the nearest stick and poked the body with it through the door, ready to leap back if anything went wrong, staying firmly outside of the sandcastle.
This close, Sam could tell that it used to be a woman. Her head wasnât attached to her body. It hadnât been a clean amputation, either. Her upper body was bruised, with chunks taken out of it, and the bones in her neck hung mangled, not connected to anything.
âWell, I warned you,â Hitch said, defeated. âI did warn you.â
Sam nudged the head with the end of the stick, nudging it over so that she could see the face. Her mother stared back at her, torn to pieces, breath still wheezing from her lungs. She wasnât blinking, just gazing forward with glazed eyes. Sweat dripped down from her hairline.
Sam screamed and dropped the stick, tripping over herself in her haste to get away.
Her motherâs eyes were wide and pleading, and she was mouthing desperate words at Sam. Her vocal cords were broken to bits, and the only sound that came out was a strained groan.
The head rolled, inching closer to Sam like a grotesque caterpillar.
Her mother gasped for air, torn lips fluttering. Finally, comprehensible words came out. âHelp. Help me, daughter.â
âThatâs not your mother,â Hitch said, quiet.
Sam knew that. Her mother was sleeping back at home, and anyways her mom had never asked for her help. She had an aversion to accepting charity, as she put it.
âOkay,â Sam said, shaking all over. âOkay.â
She backed away from the sandcastle, not looking away.
âFailure,â her mother hissed as she stepped away. âI never wanted a daughter like you.â
The sun came up over the horizon. The sandcastle, Hitch, and her mom all disintegrated into sand as the light hit them.
The beach, the next night, was almost exactly how I remembered it. The beams of our flashlights sent light bouncing across the dunes, illuminating the waves, and I imagined faces in the foam of the waves.
âIâve been back here a hundred times. Thereâs nothing left,â I said.
Sam took the car key out of her purse and pointed it at the sand, adjusting the sword slung over her shoulder in order to do it. The key had belonged to Hitch; Sam had requested an item of his, and it was the only thing I had left. She rested the key on the sand and drew a circle around it, inscribing symbols around the borders.
âWhat are you doing?â I asked.
Sam shrugged. âNot much, really. IâmâŚI guess you could say that Iâm knocking.â
The key laid inert on the sand for long enough that I was just about to give up and go home, admit to myself that Hitch was dead and that I was a fool to believe that Sam could actually help me. Then a building started to take shape, flickering in and out like it was struggling to get away. With a pop of displaced air, the sandcastle settled into existence.
Sam banged on the entryway. Nothing happened. She did it again, harder, and scowled when the door still didnât open.
âWe demand entrance, under your honor,â Sam yelled. There was a hard rush of wind, and I gripped Samâs arm to keep my balance, but the doors cracked open reluctantly.
The inside of the sandcastle consisted of one enormous hall, the roof arching up out of sight. Rafters crisscrossed from wall to wall, and a cobbled path led further into the building, but other than that, it was completely empty, except for the birds. There were thousands of them, perched on the rafters or hopping along the ground. They parted in front of Sam and I, and reformed behind us, leaving us in a small pocket of open space. They were all black-feathered, with sharp beaks and beady eyes.
The Erlking sat on a throne at the end of the hall, lounging across it with his feet up on the armrest. He watched them as they came forward, the soft caw of the birds the only sound.
âI am here to bargain for the life of my brother,â I said, with as much dignity as I could muster, before the Erlking could say anything.
The Erlking ignored her, tilting his head to look at Sam. âI remember you. I almost got you, once.â
Sam glared at him but didnât respond.
âYou want your brother,â The Erlking said to me, and he almost sounded amused. âThen go get him.â
As if by some sort of silent signal, every bird in the room took flight at once, and their cawing made me think of screams. I covered my head against the flapping of their wings, and my vision was quickly obscured by the chaotic movement of them. I found myself on my knees, just trying to escape them.
A hand met my shoulder. Sam urged me to my feet, and together we ran for the edge of the room, where the swarm was the thinnest. We pressed ourselves into the corner and the swarm spiraled tighter and tighter at the center of the room. It went on until there seemed to be no differentiation between the birds, all of them fused together into one creature.
When the chaos died down, the birds had become one mass, with wings and eyes and talons sticking out of its flesh, thrashing and chirping. Human body parts stuck out of it, bulging out from the feathers. It was hands, mostly, with a couple knees or staring eyes. The bird amalgamation had no recognizable facial features, but there was one long beak extending from the front of its head. Most of the body parts were concentrated around the beak, and they peeked out from where the beak connected with muscle, or grew from the tongue, nestled between the two crushing halves of the beak.
It turned its beak down and crawled forward, using the hands to balance. The fingers scrambled over the ground. I was afraid of centipedes as a child, and I felt that same crawling dread when it started moving.
âHoly shit,â Sam whispered, which was rather disappointing, because I had been hoping that at least one of us knew what to do.
The creature turned, a lurching movement that crushed some of the hands underneath it, and started heaving itself slowly towards our corner.
âBetter hurry up!â the Erlking called from his throne.
It was blocking the exit, by then. The shifting body of it had moved to block us off. It ambled towards us and I tried to sink further into the corner.
As it approached, getting close enough that I could smell the stink of it, I saw a flash of a tattoo on one of the hands. I leaned in, trying to find it again, like looking for dolphins surfacing in the ocean. And again, I caught a glimpse of a duck tattoo, the tattoo that Hitch had gotten on his hand as a teenager.
I ripped away from Samâs death grip and ran for the monster.
I fell to my knees in front of it, wincing as I impacted the ground, and reached into the nest of hands. I could feel them tearing at my forearms and ripping into me with their sharp nails, but I kept going. I pressed further in, up to my shoulder in a writhing mass of limbs, aiming for the spot where I had last seen that tattoo.
The hands were tugging at me, wrapping around my back and hair. They were pulling together, trying to draw me completely into the mass of them. I was aware of Sam at my side, anchoring me in place and bashing any hand that got too close with her sword or the sparks that leapt from her hands with muttered words. But I didnât think it would be enough. They were too strong, and there were too many of them.
I was up to my waist in the hands when something grabbed my palm. I felt the way it clung to me, and the calluses on its palm, and I knew that I had found my brother.
I flung herself back. The hands didnât want to let me go, and they fought the whole way, but slowly, I made progress. I kept hold of Hitchâs hand in mine the whole time, gripping it as hard as I could. I finally broke free, Hitch with me, and Sam was immediately charging the creature, able to use her sword with much greater strength without being worried about injuring Hitch. She swung it forward, and it sliced through the wrist of one of the hands. It fell without a sound, red sand flowing out of it. It deflated until it looked like dirty laundry, just a piece of limp flesh. The creature shrieked, scuttling away enough that the door was finally accessible. The three of us ran for it, Sam and I supporting Hitch between us.
I looked back as I left and found the Erlking staring right at me.
âInteresting,â he murmured, his voice carrying impossibly across the vast space between us.
The sandcastle collapsed behind us, the great walls falling in on themselves. We were out in the morning sun, the sandcastle disappearing as we watched. Hitch was on the ground in front of me, as young as heâd been thirty years ago, when he was captured. He started laughing, feathers puffing out of his mouth. He laughed until he cried and I hugged him in the way that heâd held me when I was young, in the times when my life had been defined by hunger and fear.
Hitch left, afterwards. He scratched at the pinhole scars covering his body, where feathers burst through his skin, and pulled his long sleeves down around his wrists. He didnât know where he was going but he told me that he needed time
I had spent thirty years worth of time without him. I wanted to grab my brother by the shoulders and beg him to stay. But he flinched when I hugged him goodbye and he refused to go near sand and he stared distrustfully at the birds chirping in the trees. Hitch needed to go away and I loved him too much to stop him.
I sat out on the beach every morning. I felt the sun on my face and I waited for Hitch to come home.

2024.05.19 07:53 scidsg Principles of a Tip Line Platform: A research-based way to evaluate whistleblower systems
| Article Cover Showing List of Principles and Names of Researchers Thanks to the good work of academic researchers across the globe, we have a data-driven way to evaluate the quality of whistleblower software. The papers weâve looked to for this article include: The authors lists the characteristics of a whistleblower submission system. They include: - Usability of the Software
- Authenticity of the Receiver
- Plausible Deniability of the Whistleblower
- Availability of the System
- Anonymity of the Whistleblower
- Confidentiality and Integrity of the Disclosures
1. Usability of the Software Managed Service Usability is the linchpin of any good software system. No matter what your value proposition is â the most private, secure, or whatever â if your targeted audience cannot use the software, no amount of engineering genius will make a difference. As researcher Joakim Uddholm puts it: âThe system must be usable for both whistleblowers and journalists. Whistleblowers must be able to use the system without the protection features getting too much in the way, and journalists must be able to use the system without it interfering too much with their work routines.â A key differentiator for Hush Line is that weâre a managed service, meaning you donât have to host core infrastructure, operate dedicated networks, or hire specialists to start using the service. All a user needs to do to have an anonymous tip line is register an account. UI for Hush Line Registration page By providing a centralized service, we significantly reduce the risk of user error, making the service more consistent, predictable, and trustworthy. Email Delivery Hush Line can deliver messages directly to your email inbox. Users may enter their preferred SMTP information from Gmail or Riseup, for example, and any message submitted to their tip line will be delivered to their email account. Enabling users to set it and forget it makes using Hush Line effortless and integrates into the systems theyâre already using. SMTP Hush Line Settings Clearnet and Tor Addresses Hush Line is also available on both Clearnet and Tor Onion addresses. This approach is critical for users where Tor might be blocked or having anonymizing software on their device could be incriminating, like in the case of Ola Bini in Ecuador. Screenshot of Ola Biniâs tweet about his conviction. Since Hush Line can be accessed over a Clearnet address with the default browser already on your phone, your fingerprint will be the same as everyone else who just bought a new phone. Making PGP Easy Before, using PGP meant adopting cumbersome workflows that even stumped journalists at the heart of the Snowden disclosures. Journalist Glenn Greenwald didnât have PGP set up, and didnât have the time to learn how to do it, resulting in Snowden not being able to securely contact him. Even Snowden forgot to send his PGP key to journalists when initially contacting them. Inbox view with Mailvelope browser extension. Hush Line attempts to solve this problem through our integration of Mailvelope, a powerful open-source browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that enables users to create keys, decrypt and encrypt message directly in their browser, and export their public PGP key. For tip line owners, once adding their PGP key to Hush Line, all messages are end-to-end encrypted by default and when a tip comes in, they can read it within the Hush Line app. For whistleblowers, this means they donât need to do anything to send a secure, anonymous message. 2. Authenticity of the Receiver Verification System Hush Line has a verification system for journalists, organizations, activists, or other public figures. Verified accounts receive a special badge on their message submission page so that people submitting messages know theyâre contacting the right person. To be verified, users must submit proper information to prove their identity or approval to represent a company. Submit Message page with a âVerified Accountâ badge. Opt-In User Directory Users may opt-in to a public directory where others can find their address. The default tab is prioritized to make it easy to find verified users. The directory is searchable, and a whistleblower can have confidence of the validity of an address. Hush Line User Directory page Account Reporting The verification system and user directories are two ways to help ensure the authenticity of the receiver, but to help ensure the platformâs health, we enable users who have logged in to report spam or abuse accounts. We will address reported accounts immediately to determine the best next steps, whether deleting the account, sending a warning message, or other appropriate methods. 3. Plausible Deniability of the Whistleblower No Downloads Hush Line is accessible over a Clearnet address, so a user doesnât have to download any new software to send an anonymous message. If someone wants to use a Tor-only tip line service on their mobile device, they must sign in to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. To download Tor Browser, you need to provide a valid email address or phone number and possibly payment information, all considered personally identifiable information. Now that youâve downloaded new software on your phone, your âfingerprintâ has become unique to who you are. If you only have Robinhood, Tor Browser, Mastodon, Chrome, and Slack on your phone, the likelihood of someone else having only those same apps becomes less likely. If you have even 50 apps, your fingerprint will be more associated with you, possibly entirely unique. The more unique your fingerprint is, the less realistic a plausible deniability claim is. One-Way Messaging Most people fail to report information because they fear retaliation and the significant risks of whistleblowing. Hush Line is a one-way messenger explicitly designed to protect the individual submitting the message. If the person submitting a message feels comfortable enough to leave a contact method, they may or can submit a message without any further involvement. Account-Free for Whistleblowers Someone submitting a message does not need to create an account to use the app. This crucial feature allows a whistleblower to reduce the trail of information they leave behind. No credentials can be found if you have no username or password to save. And since Hush Line requires no special software, a message can be submitted from any phone or computer, from a pubic library or internet cafe, for example. Success message after sending a message without an account. 4. Availability of the System Centralized Services By providing a centralized service, Hush Line is more reliably available by only requiring a single system to be maintained and secured. Centralizing our services protects users by removing the responsibility of managing specialized infrastructure and following complex workflows, which, if done incorrectly, could have real-world implications. Decentralized systems help with censorship resistance (and Hush Line can also be self-hosted), but when there are tens, hundreds, or thousands of separate instances all disconnected from each other, there is no way to ensure the quality of those systems. What other software is on the server? Is it updated? Are any ports open? Who currently has or has had access? What hardware are they using? Itâs impossible and foolhardy to assume that everyone will follow best practices consistently. An analogous example of the inherent risks of decentralization is from the Mastodon network â a decentralized version of Twitter where anyone can run an instance. The database for Kolektiva.social, a service tailored to anarchist users, was compromised. In 2023, the home of its admin was raided for an unrelated event, and the FBI seized an unencrypted database backup. Snippet from the Kolektiva admin accountâs post after the raid. 5. Anonymity of the Whistleblower Leaking IP Addresses To make Hush Line accessible to as many people as possible, the app is available on a publicly accessible URL, which is what you might expect from any web service. However, when using a Clearnet URL, leaking a userâs IP address is a real possibility. To help defend against this, we scrub IP addresses from our access logs to minimize the risk of this happening when you use our app. To remove the possibility of IP leaks in high-threat scenarios, we deploy Hush Line as a Tor Onion service. Tor Support Tor is a network that anonymizes your internet browsing activity. It acts as a proxy by randomly routing your request through its network of relays, hiding who is making the request. Tor also has a feature called Onion Services. An Onion service makes a website or application accessible through a special .onion address that is only available through the Tor Browser. Message submission onion site. When using a regular browser like Chrome or Firefox, when you enter an address like hushline.app the browser needs to know the server address for that URL. A long chain of services helps make it possible, from your ISP to DNS services, the server running the app, and more to make it possible to type something memorable like hushline.app instead of remembering and entering 64.23.155.36. Just as the browser needs to know the IP address of the target web server, your IP address is also necessary to know where to send the information. Your IP address is essentially your customer ID for your internet service provider. All someone with the necessary authority needs to do is request the information of the owner of that IP, and your real identity is exposed. Onion services defeat this kind of threat because they donât operate using the same DNS and IP protocols. Tor Browser is connected to the Tor anonymizing network, and so are the Onion services that exist within it. When someone uses a .onion address, the request from the browser to the server and back never leaves the Tor network, completely sidestepping IP leakage. To access Hush Lineâs information site using our Onion address, enter ` http://w25rxxn62dgix7qdbw4ot37m2y4ty7kxfrinspw4ce7jzse7pb6rhaqd.onion/\`, or to access the appâs Onion site, enter ` http://ghj4vviaoccj4tj2r3ss52arbnchkfvs7uft4sgtrkuvdha5zjgo6yqd.onion\` in Tor Browser. Timing Correlation To know that two people are talking to each other, you donât need to know the contents of their messages if you have enough metadata about the conversation. One such way to reveal important context about who might be talking to each other is to learn when the messages were sent. If thereâs a flurry of activity from two accounts â one after the other, repeatedly, pausing at similar times, being active at similar timesâ someone analyzing the logs might assume those accounts are talking to each other. To address this, we do not timestamp messages or relate accounts in any way. An attacker with access to the server cannot relate two messages on the platform, which is largely irrelevant as Hush Line is designed as a one-way messenger. 6. Confidentiality and Integrity of the Disclosures Message Encryption Hush Line uses PGP for message encryption, making the key owner the only one technically able to read the decrypted messages. Messages are end-to-end encrypted using OpenPGP.js, meaning our server will never see the decrypted contents. Hush Line Inbox with an encrypted message. Weâre proactive about communicating with senders and receivers about the importance of the tip line owner adding their public PGP key, and we discourage sharing sensitive information if the receiver doesnât encrypt their messages. Unencrypted warning on a message submission page. HTTPS We use Letâs Encrypt for HTTPS certificates. When a site uses HTTPS, requests use the TLS protocol to encrypt data in transit from the browser to the server and back. This protects your activity from being monitored or tampered with while using the app. For an attacker who can monitor network connections, instead of seeing which page youâre on or who youâre submitting a message to, the primary URL is only visible. So if a message submitter is on https://hushline.app/submit_message/artvandelay the recipient remains unobservable, and the only thing visible to a network snoop is https://hushline.app/. Conclusion There are many tip-line solutions on the market, and it can be intimidating to choose the right one for you. 2024.05.19 07:48 EmergencyCat235 Update - planaria killed my mystery snail.
Please don't be mean to me, I'm so upset. My blue mystery snail has been killed by planaria before I could destroy them... I am such an idiot, I saw him half buried under some groundcover and thought he was 'sleeping'. He was actually being eaten alive!!! đ I wish I'd removed them both immediately!
My orange mystery snail is still alive, and I've transferred him to a makeshift tank while I treat the main tank with Flubendazole. I don't even know if he will survive the move, and he may have planaria inside his shell.
I feel absolutely sick that this has happened. What an idiot đ˘
I HATE PLANARIA WITH SUCH A VENGEANCE NOW

Lucky for me, I stumbled upon the Realtree Camo Canvas Work Hunting Jacket for Men! This jacket is made with 12oz Cotton Canvas and features a cozy quilt lining, which has kept me toasty even on the chilliest of days. One thing I absolutely love about this jacket is the front pouch pockets - they are so practical for keeping my hands warm and my essentials close at hand. Plus, the Real Tree Xtra camo pattern adds an cool, outdoorsy vibe to any outfit. And, of course, as a faithful Atlanta Falcons fan, I'm thrilled to see my team's logo embroidered on the jacket's exterior. However, there's one minor issue I've noticed: the hood isn't particularly snug or form-fitting, which can be a bit of a hassle if you're wearing a hat while trying to stay warm. But overall, I would highly recommend this jacket for anyone who loves spending time outdoors, needs a reliable and stylish hunting companion, or simply supports their favorite NFL team! https://preview.redd.it/0lilmef1hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd41bfd221434e445a348a69dd9eae46537e4e89 I recently got the chance to try out the Avery Heritage Sportman's Field Coat, and I must say, it's a stylish and functional piece of outerwear that I'm absolutely loving! The moment I put it on, I was surprised by how comfortable the coral fleece lining in the body and sleeves felt. It's like wearing a warm hug! One thing I appreciated about the coat was the zippered and magnetic chest pockets. They're incredibly convenient for holding my essentials, like my phone and wallet. Plus, the two large front bellow pockets provide ample storage for bigger items. Another feature worth mentioning is the antique brass hardware. Not only does it add a touch of sophistication to the coat, but it also ensures durability and long-lasting use. The adjustable cuffs are another added bonus, allowing me to customize the fit and feel of the coat for maximum comfort. Overall, the Avery Heritage Sportman's Field Coat is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for both style and functionality in their outerwear. While the coat might be a bit of an investment, its high-quality materials and features make it well worth the price tag. https://preview.redd.it/n7n10zm1hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad6c3000096ab8ceeeef31809171b0561407f7d2 I remember the first time I wore my WenVen Men's Military Jacket, a crisp autumn day when the wind had a bit of a bite. As soon as I zipped up, I felt an instant warmth and comfort that can only be described as a hug from a good friend. The adjustable cuffs and high-quality zipper kept the chill at bay while still allowing easy movement. One thing that sets this jacket apart is its unique stitching and stylish pocket placements. Not only do they provide a modern and fashionable look, but they also serve their purpose by keeping my small essentials within reach. Plus, the addition of a soft lining and interior pocket makes it feel cozy and secure. However, it's worth noting that the WenVen Men's Military Jacket is not as heavy or insulated as some may prefer for colder temperatures. Additionally, I noticed that after a few washes, the canvas started to lose its stiffness, which might be a concern for those looking for a more durable option. In conclusion, the WenVen Men's Military Jacket is an excellent choice for those who value style, comfort, and practicality. Its high-quality materials and features make it a reliable and versatile addition to any wardrobe. Just remember to keep in mind that it might not be the best option for extreme weather conditions. https://preview.redd.it/tpnodq22hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25bbd7a00e01e5c1c1d646b2e18a905a67de2540 I've been wearing the "Legendary Whitetails Lonestar Shirt Jacket" for a while now and I must say, this piece is quite a statement. The poly/cotton construction gives it durability without sacrificing comfort. The Western-inspired contrast fabric detailing really adds a touch of character to my outfit, making me feel like a modern-day cowboy. One thing I absolutely love about this jacket is how versatile it is. Whether I'm out in the field hunting or just running errands, this jacket keeps me protected and stylish. Another feature that stood out for me is the front yoke that extends to double chest pocket flaps - it's such a practical design, offering plenty of storage space. However, like any product, there are some minor drawbacks. The sizing runs slightly small, so if you're looking for a looser fit, consider sizing up. Additionally, I wish there were clearer care instructions included with the jacket. In conclusion, the "Legendary Whitetails Lonestar Shirt Jacket" is a high-quality, stylish piece that's perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. While it might not be perfect for everyone, it certainly has made a positive impact on my wardrobe. https://preview.redd.it/pu6dzdz2hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c98830577fdeb9adf56b73705b8a5552f095fd6a I recently purchased the Hoggs of Fife Stewarton Canvas Coat in Camel, and I must say, it has quickly become a wardrobe staple for me. The coat is made of a robust, waterproof 100% cotton canvas that is soft to the touch yet offers excellent protection from the elements. Wearing this coat, I feel as if I am walking through the wilderness with a classic, outdoorsy charm. One of my favorite features is the faux suede collar and brass zip that adds a touch of timeless elegance to the overall design. The jacket also boasts multiple pockets, including two large magnetic closure pockets, a zipped pocket, and an internal zipped pocket, making it easy for me to carry my essentials without worrying about losing them. The other day, when I went for a long walk on a chilly evening, the coat kept me warm and cozy while providing just the right amount of insulation. However, one drawback I have noticed is that the collar could be stiffer for added support and protection. Nevertheless, the Stewarton Canvas Coat truly delivers on its promise of being a high-quality, comfortable coat for the outdoorsy individual. https://preview.redd.it/k8hrgwj3hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bef351f9531c41536eb04784ac8d4a30c7de1482 I recently tried the Gamehide Fenceline Upland Jacket and it has quickly become my go-to hunting gear. The HyperHide fabric with fleece lining manages to provide exceptional stretch and comfort while remaining water and wind resistant. The handwarmer pockets and vertical chest pocket are really useful for keeping my essentials close at hand during long hunts. However, one thing that I would have appreciated is a smaller, zipped pocket where I could store my phone and keys securely. Another minor issue is that the game bag can get a bit cumbersome when it's full, but overall, this jacket has been a game-changer for my hunting adventures. It's stylish, comfortable, and truly stands out among other hunting jackets I've tried. https://preview.redd.it/158aiax3hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74da8bcb684c7cf77c2fe4d394ed93c856a6668f I recently purchased the Guide Gear Canvas Jacket for my outdoor adventures, and I must say, it has not disappointed. With its heavy-duty cotton canvas/spandex shell with a peached finish, it's both tough and comfortable. The stretchy fabric ensures no limitations on movement while I'm hiking or hunting, making it perfect for all my outdoor escapades. Plus, the water-repellent finish comes in handy when the weather takes an unexpected turn. I also appreciate the various pockets, including the interior ones with hook-and-loop closures, that provide ample storage space for all my essentials. Overall, this jacket has been a reliable and stylish addition to my wardrobe, perfect for any adventurer who wants both durability and flexibility. https://preview.redd.it/jmju5m94hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3098426f7d509eb521ccd137023dcf36a22b7d4a When I first got my hands on the Duck Camp Lightweight Brush Jacket, I was excited to see how it would perform during my outdoor adventures. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was going to become a staple in my wardrobe. The thick stretch canvas offered the perfect balance of protection and flexibility, making it suitable for various activities like hunting or lounging around the campfire. One feature that really stood out for me was the fit. It was just right - not too tight, nor too loose. The length, which hits at the hip, contributes to the overall aesthetic of the jacket. Plus, pairing it with Duck Camp's Brand Pants creates a cohesive and stylish look that I absolutely adore. However, there's always room for improvement. Some users have reported issues with the fabric quality. It may not hold up as well against heavy use or waxing as some traditional brush jackets do. Nonetheless, the price point is quite affordable, and you get what you pay for. In summary, the Duck Camp Lightweight Brush Jacket is an excellent addition to any outdoorsman's closet. Its comfortable fit, versatile usage, and stylish design make it perfect for both hunting trips and casual outings. Just keep in mind that it might not be as durable as more expensive alternatives, but at its current price, it's definitely worth considering. https://preview.redd.it/3ddtvtt4hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74a5ffb51858c2bd51b873c0a4c9cda2a7cc1f44 I recently purchased the Wyoming Traders Men's Canvas Western Ranch Jacket in chocolate color, and I have to say, this coat is one of the warmest and sturdiest I've ever had. Living in a cold climate, I was thrilled to find a coat that can handle sub-zero temperatures. The 12-ounce cotton canvas construction offers excellent durability and the corduroy collar adds a touch of visual appeal. One of the standout features for me is the quilted polyester satin-lined arms, which keep my hands warm and cosy. The adjustable snap wrist cuffs make it incredibly easy to customize the fit to my preference. The shoulder Western yoke design on the front and back is a great addition, making this coat both functional and stylish. However, there are a few minor drawbacks. Some users have reported that the buttons can be prone to falling off. While I haven't experienced this issue myself, it's worth keeping in mind if you plan on using this coat in rugged conditions. Additionally, the zipper quality could be improved, as it can be challenging to get started initially. Overall, the Wyoming Traders Men's Canvas Western Ranch Jacket is a fantastic choice for those in search of a warm, sturdy, and stylish coat. With its array of pockets and comfortable fit, it's perfect for work or leisure activities. The coat may have a few minor issues, but at such an affordable price, it's hard to find a better option. https://preview.redd.it/aajq5v25hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6772e8070d32e09cd15836545ee16e2a97bcbaf I recently purchased the Mossy Oak Gamekeeper Field Coat to enhance my hunting experience and it certainly did not disappoint. The fleece lining and 100% cotton duck fabric ensure I'm warm and comfortable throughout the day. The multiple pockets prove incredibly useful for storing my essentials and gadgets. The pleats at the back offer enhanced mobility, making it a breeze to move around without any constraints. However, the absence of an additional layer of insulation might be a drawback for some during extremely cold weather conditions. Overall, I would highly recommend this field coat for anyone looking to up their hunting game. https://preview.redd.it/k21xhkj5hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88a317ff98417809d757f88e3b8ec9c7f8dbba49 When I first unwrapped my Guide Gear Canvas Camo Hunting Jacket, I knew it was going to be a reliable companion during my adventures. The heavy-duty 9.4-oz. cotton canvas/spandex shell instantly caught my eye, as it exuded durability and quality. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and quiet it was; making stealth in the wilderness extremely easy. One of the standout features was its roomy fit. Whether I was dipping and diving through bushes or climbing up trees in pursuit of the perfect shot, the jacket's design allowed for full range of motion without any restrictions. The DWR treatment on exterior and inside pockets added an extra layer of protection against the elements, protecting my essentials from moisture and rain. The 100% polyester mesh body lining kept me feeling light and comfortable, while the interior patch pockets with hook-and-loop closure proved incredibly useful for storing my essentials. I also appreciated the adjustable sleeve cuffs, which allowed me to customize the fit to my preference. However, there were a few cons that caught my attention throughout my usage. While the fabric is undeniably high-quality, it does require regular maintenance due to its tendency to accumulate dirt quite quickly. Additionally, I found the jacket to be slightly on the heavier side, making hiking long distances during summer months a little more challenging. Overall, the Guide Gear Canvas Camo Hunting Jacket has proven to be a reliable and comfortable choice for my outdoor adventures. Though it may have a few minor drawbacks in terms of maintenance and weight, its durability and practical features make it a worthwhile investment for any avid hunter. https://preview.redd.it/9v3ulvv5hb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd62eb9c4716afb9735a1a175a1813e855da55cf I recently got my hands on the Volcom Tony Canvas Field Jacket in Rust, and I must say, it's been an absolute game-changer in my day-to-day wardrobe. This jacket exudes vintage charm with its boxy fit and corduroy collar, while providing the comfortable durability of a 100% cotton canvas. One of the first things that stood out to me was the flannel liner on the interior. It keeps me cozy and warm, perfect for those chilly mornings when I'm jogging out to get my morning coffee. 2024.05.19 06:41 Holy_Oblivion Current Situation within Christian Nationalism Nationwide
Salutations and greetings brothers and sisters in Christ.
Having posted last week about the current situation and end state/long term objectives, I would like to identity what the current state of the country is in relative openness to meeting our criteria. A lot of what I write comes from research sources from government websites (such as the US Census Data), research websites from trusted sources (such as the PRRI), or good primary source content from creators or first-person perspectives. Today I want to share a report from PRRI that I references previously in my post about end state and objectives. This will lay out what states have the highest concentrations of support for Christian Nationalism based on research, large groups/concentrations of Orthodox Churches, Large groups/Concentrations of Mainline Protestant churches, and then large groups/concentrations of Evangelical concentrations/groups. Using this data we can distil down to the various different states that would have the highest success rate for growing support for our objectives and end states.
- Large groups of mainline protestants function as a potential recruiting opprotunity. As these churches become liberalized and lose membership/die out, it allows for those aligned with our values to recruit and convert these individuals co-oping them into the cause.
- Large congregations of Orthodox Churches can be used as a staging ground for the Neo-Orthodoxy revival within America and support the conversion of these churches into an Autocephalous Western Right Apostolic Holy Orthodox Church of America. Our objective number 1 for achieving our end state.
- Large support for Christian Nationalism already exists within Evangelical Christianity. This means while conversion to the Neo-Orthodoxy movement to achieve our first objective, it is not strictly necessary if individuals join Evangelical Christian groups which support Christian Nationalism.
- These three sources of Christian believers to support the desired end state for Christian Nationalism is essential.
If you recall from my previous post Objective 2 to meet our end state for the Nation is as follows: "38 out of 50 states within the United States must have greater than 50% Christian Nationalists adherents living within them by 2058. (creates super majority)." In this post I identified that we have to focus on 38 states to build up a primary base for changing the geo-political landscape by altering the socio-cultural landscape via Western Anglosphere focus Christian values. Specifically, I call out for a Western Right Orthodox Church of America but any congregation which aligns with Christian Nationalism would suffice. Just that Western Right Orthodoxy would be a solid cornerstone/foundation which would have the structure and adherence rate to survive greater than 80+ years rather than the mercurial protestants denominations which shift like sand. However, if those denominations can stand firm long enough to enact true political reform, amending the constitution, then it is worth to bring those denominations into the fold and act as one body of Christ.
Looking at the data from PRRI:
Data Here You can see the breakdown of the different states which have high or higher percentage of support to the cause of Christian Nationalism. What this means for us, is it allows us to narrow down to our targeted 38 states we need to achieve our objectives. While we want to be advancing on all fronts, these 38 will have the highest chance of making mounting or achievable impact on Christendom at large.
- As previously stated: "New York, Massachusetts, Oregon, Nevada, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, California, Washington, Connecticut, and New Jersey are below the 25% general support for Christian Nationalism." What this means is that while we should try and spread the cause in all directions to all different states, these states have the lowest chance of it catching flame or finding a foundation.
- Interestingly enough however, many of these states have large concentrations of old Orthodoxy residing within them: California, Massachusetts, Illinois, New York, and New Jersey all have large amounts of Orthodox Concentrations. Data Here Sadly they are drowned out by large amounts of non-Christians within these locations. New York, Illinois, and California have large amounts of Mainline Protestant which have the highest amounts of potential pickups of those leaving the denominations after becoming super liberalized towards Orthodox/Christian Nationalists sympathetic groups. Data Here
- What this means is that while growth opportunity exists in New York, California, and Illinois we will struggle to gain and maintain a majority within the state just do to the demographic nature and the percentage game. Not that it is not worth our time, but we cannot rely on it. That said we could focus efforts in select swing districts at the local/congressional level in New York, California, and Illinois to possibly bring about pushing them towards the bubble and eroding hyper liberal power bases.
With the date for mentioned, we would have to conclude that these 11 states are not reliable for our growth and target objectives. Again, as with the case of New York, Illinois, and California, growth opportunity exists but not enough to justify targeting those states. Our focus now shifts to the bubble/swing states that we can make a difference to bring to the fold.
- As previously stated: "Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Arizona, Utah, Rhode Island, Delaware, Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Michigan are on the 25-29% cusp of supporting Christian Nationalism. Growth opportunity exists but could easily swing the other way.". What this means is that we would need to focus on these swing states and select at least one to focus our attention to bring it above the 30% thresh-hold for sustained and consistent push towards the cause to for fill our objectives.
- The largest concentrations of Mainline Protestant denominations and Orthodoxy residing within them is Pennsylvania, with Michigan and Wisconsin in solid second place leading the others. Arizona and Colorado are behind Michigan and Wisconsin but hold a solid base in both Mainline and Orthodoxy. Meaning it would not take much to swing Colorado and Arizona to be more inline with our stated goals that we need to achieve.
- Out of the rest, Hawaii might be the biggest outlier and most difficult to change do to geographic reasons. While a solid base for what we wish to accomplish exists, the demographics of such a place are working against us in % of population vs base. I would advocate for throwing out Hawaii and placing it into the below general support category.
- Utah is a special case. Mormons, which would best be classified as a wild card, dominate Utah politics along with other Christian denominations. Forward progress will be difficult in Utah, but it might be more of a dialogue than a genuine need for conversion/bringing Utah into alignment.
- What this means is that Delaware, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine will be the long haul in this process to round out our 38 required states to align with the Anglosphere Western Right Orthodoxy / support for Christian nationalism. Naturally Vermont and Delaware will present interesting challenges. It would require demographic changes and construction of large amounts of mission work and proselytizing. Alternatives would have to be sought for these two otherwise if needed: Viriginia and New Jersey are likely candidates given the high number of Orthodoxy or Mainline protestants vs Delaware and Vermont.
This leaves us to the 38 states that we have to focus on to achieve our objectives on the strategic level for the United States to regain the conceptualization of Christian nationalism dominated by our Western Right Orthodox Church of America focused on preserving the ideals of Anglosphere cultural and societal roots forward for the next 80-120 years.
- Alabama, Alaksa, Arizonia, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware*, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey*, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah**, Vermont*, Virgina*, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
- Delaware and Vermont can be changed for New Jersey and Virgina respectively which is the reason for the call out. Utah is also a special case given its high Mormon population.
- Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona have unique opportunities with the largest growing non-white Christian Nationalists groups: Hispanics who are Evangelicals. Continued growth in this area can eventually turn all four corners into solid supporters for our socio-cultural fabric which we wish to layout. Of them, Colorado faces the most pushback but growing areas of support.
- Different regions within the 38 states are going to have to move/work in different ways to achieve our objectives. Just because a state has +30% of Christian Nationalists support already AND might traditionally thought politically as a "red" state, that does not mean they align with our core values or end state. New Mexico and Arizona are wildly different than Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. Requiring different approaches to changing the views on a local level.
- The flexibility of Mainline and Evangelical Protestantism is simultaneously a blessing and a curse. The common faith shared across state borders and regions does not always align culturally or politically. One socio-cultural norm must exist. While sub-cultures are welcome, they cannot deviate from the overarching Anglosphere cultural norm which must dominate to align the whole country with our values and preserve the Republic.
This goes into the objective number 1 to meet our end state for the United States and Christian Nationalism. As stated previously: "Establish one Autocephalous Western Right Apostolic Holy Orthodox Church of America with Romanian, Russian, and Antiochian ceding to this new Orthodox Church with establishment of a Patriarch of America." This will create a large common Holy and Orthodox Church of America that will allow for Anglosphere dominate cultural to thrive from the local/micro level all the way to the macro-country wide level. The church will function both culturally and religiously to preserve our common Anglosphere dominated values and Western conceptualizations of rights within our Republic.
As always, please let me know what you think and what can be done to improve. Is this too wordy? Is everyone able to follow along fairly well? Let me know or join the conversation!

2024.05.19 06:11 zhonglisorder Romance between people with no obvious connection
So I've been watching a lot of romance animes and mangas lately. Every couple is either from the same class/club/workplace or just somehow very obviously connected (like same game guild).
I'm looking for an anime or manga where the 2 leads live in different worlds and normally would have 0 chance of being friends or more. But something happens and they spontaneously become romantically involved. And people are surprised whenever they learn our main couple is together.
Example :
House with Orange Roof - manga about 2 divorcees getting scammed into buying the same house, so they end up sharing the house.
Positively Yours - manhwa where girl has a one night stand and gets pregnant. She's a HS teacher and he's the chairman of her school.

2024.05.19 06:09 Vaerellaa Moving an hour away from home
Hello, Ive been trying to find advice by seeing if anyone is in the same situation but cant find anything so iâm going to ask here! (Gonna be a long post because im going to put every detail, I want genuine advice that benefits my cat best)
In 2016 my family cat passed away. We were all devastated, after a while my mum who was previously a property manager found a beautiful calico cat which we presume was 3 years old, that had been left behind and hiding under the house by drug addict tenants. She would come out when my mum fed her, until eventually mum brought her home. We tried our best to keep her inside but she ran away after a week (out the cat door) We didnt know if she would come back.
When she left, my mum rescued an orange kitten that was considered too spicy and was given to us for free. 3 days later the calico cat came back! This time I kept her locked in my room upstairs, Its a massive room, with a narnia room and small balcony overlooking bush, trees and lots of nature. I was 15 at the time. She was extremely anxious, we have no idea how her previous owners treated her or if something had happened to her the week that she ran away. She would hiss at me, hide, didnt want affection. Through time she grew to love me, and became extremely affectionate and comfortable around me.
She became an inside cat, too anxious to go downstairs or leave my room as the orange cat would beat her up if she stepped foot downstairs. This led her to only live in my room. After 8 years the orange cat still attacks her. She enjoys lounging on the balcony with the wind, sun and looking at the birds and knowing she will be safe from my other family cat (hes an outside and inside cat). As I said, my room is very big with lots of windows and sunlight, lots of hiding spots etc. She loves my room. I love her so much, we cuddle to sleep everynight.
I have been with my bf for 5 years and he lives an hour away. I stay every weekend. I am now 23, and he is 25. In 3 weeks I am moving to his parents house, who has a very tiny detached living space about 10m from the main house. It has a bedroom, toilet and shower, kitchenette. We are staying there rent free and plan on saving money and buying a house within 2 years, and then moving my cat in.
The flat has very little windows and is very loud with boy racers driving past. After 5 years, I am ready to get a job down there and be with my bf everyday instead of only the weekends. I dont think she would be happy living there though as she must be around 12, and still is skitty and anxious. She wouldnt be able to leave the room as a main road is right outside. Therefore she wouldnt be able to sunbathe or anything like that.
At my family home, I lived with my mum and sister. When i move, my sister (2 years older) is going to move into my room. She will essentially be my cats main carer, and she really likes my sister and is comfortable around her. I will visit her as much as i can. I cant wait to bring her to a proper home once we buy, where she has a yard and a house to room without getting bullied.
Im also anxious as a person and i feel like im a bad cat mum. Will she be okay? :(
