Hello,
This is my first post on here and I thought I'd give some takeaways from someone who has been vaping for quiet a long time for those who might experience, or can experience, some things I have during my journey. I'm deciding to post this because I'm experiencing new side effects from Vaping that I cannot find people talking about online anywhere really.
I'll start by explaining my journey as a smoker turned vape user to give an idea where I'm coming from with all this.
I smoked cigarettes on and off, then consistently, from the age of 13 and finally was able to quit them at around 32-33.
I loved cigarettes, smoked them in my room ( don't ever do this ) and my daily routine would consist of a cup of coffee, taking a sip to get that taste, then smoke a cigarette ( I would have about 5 cigarettes per cup of coffee ) and I'd smoke about a pack and half a day for all these years.
Then one day I got to a point of getting tired of it. I didn't like how I was feeling and what not, came across those gas station electronic cigarettes that are a 1 time use ( I forget the brand now but its the one that looks just like a cigarette ) and was completely blown away how it gave me the fix of a cigarette without the smell and the other thousands of chemicals from the cigarette.
So begins my Vaping journey. Started from 24mg for a while then came down to 12mg ( this is my sweet spot ) and have been there ever since ( for years ) I don't sub-ohm, I do the normal kind of vaping with a mod ( MTL )
At first it was an adjustment, I still wanted to smoke a cigarette but, when I got that urge, I just vaped more ( still using those disposable vapes ) and ended up coming to a point where I hated even the smell of cigarettes...I was officially a Vapor.
Then discovered that you can buy and refill your own and, you get the idea.
The idea behind vaping is to ultimately get you to quit right? Didn't happen for me. I love vaping even as I type this and here is the reason for this post.
Side effects that I noticed from vaping:
I have this neck issue on the left side of my neck that I'm linking to vaping because I have stopped before and it went away.
Also a front of the neck issue, left side, where it has this discomfort feeling ( no pain, just feels like it's being aggravated and I have to massage it ) and this has existed for a good while.
Lightheaded and dizziness:
This I noticed here and there and I assume from vaping too much. It's nothing serious but, can be a little unsettling because you feel like your head moves sometimes when its not.
Clearing Throat:
I find myself having to do this at times and I have heard its can be from the type of juice used, again, nothing serious here but, can be annoying.
Weird Heart Palpitations:
Now this isn't always but, when it does happen, is very unsettling for the moment and I get it, nicotine, and the level I use , can cause that to happen.
Lastly, and this is something more recent, which is the final nail in the coffin for me to finally give up vaping:
Elevated Blood Pressure
Now at 43 years ( Vaping for 10 years or so and smoked for 20 before that ) I had my blood pressure increase at times when I eat some heavy foods, vape the way I do ( I definitely vape a lot more than I used to smoke a cigarette...so maybe I'd be considered a chain vapor? ) and my blood pressure has been going high in the evenings where it's noticeable ( One night it was 170+ over 90+ and another night 157 over 88 ) around those numbers and, it's not a good feeling at all. The same way I noticed what cigarettes were doing to me eventually ( feeling lethargic, appetite off, sleep off ) these are the signs for me now to ultimately end this journey after these experiences.
And keep in mind, I don't have any health issues. I'm 5'10 approx 180lbs so I don't have any weight issues either.
And I have had people suggest to lower or use 0 nic, I've tried that, it doesn't give the same hit and fix as the 12, hence why It is my sweet spot. I tried sub-ohming but, ended up vaping even more than I'm currently vaping, especially with the flavors lol ( I like Tobacco flavor like a cigarette ) so that won't work for me.
Ultimately, I'm super grateful to become a vapor to get me off the thing I needed to stop, cigarettes, so I will never say don't vape if you're a smoker looking to get off them.
But, if you never smoked and are looking to get into Vaping for whatever reason, don't, it really isn't worth it. It begins with a pre-made thing ( like an e-cig or pod ) then you will move into filling it yourself and so forth. Just wasting money to only get these side effects in one way or another.
So with all this said, thought I'd put this out there for others to keep in mind in the event they come across these kinds of scenario's to know that, this may be your sign to call it quits as well and start on the new journey of being completely free of all these things.

NOTE: i'm keeping all my original wording, but i think the "non-negotiables" title would be more accurate by renaming it "values/behaviors that I strive for myself and look for in others
Are my non-negotiables asking for too much? I was quite surprised by how long that section of the list turned out, especially relative to the other two categories, but these are all traits and qualities that I've learned to appreciate, or dare I say, demand, through my life, friendship, and dating experiences. I will say, 1-4 and 12 feel like true non-negotiables, and the rest, while still feeling like non-negotiables, could be mitigated if they demonstrate #4 and are self-aware of their own deficiencies and have a growth mindset of actively trying to improve... but that said, the entire non-negotiables really does seem ironclad.
5a, 5b, and 8b are the only ones from that section that I think could be moved down a tier.
Also FYI I do think that everything I'm asking for in my list are things that I myself bring to the table. I'm not perfect and I'm not asking for her to be perfect across the list, but in essence she should agree that the traits listed in the non-negotiables are worth pursuing, together.
Thoughts? Is it too much? Or is it reasonable to want a mature and emotionally available adult? Will cross post in askwomenover30.
Non-negotiables (1-4 are true non-negotiables, after that, self-awareness + ability to improve factors into the rest)

Compared to the twenty first century, not much has changed with humanity up to the present day at the beginning of the twenty third century, at least from a social perspective. Technology evolved, humanity had developed FTL, although a bit janky, and contact with alien life has been established a bit more than fifty years before the present day. Now, humanity stands as part of a vast network of planets owned by sentient xeno species. In a simple conclusion, humanity just keeps on doing what it always did, but now with more places to exploit, govern and trade with.
Just like in the days of old on Earth, humanity stands in social classes based on income and now we will be taking a look at the story of one Evans Muller, a broke fresh college graduate that is currently unemployed and doom scrolling on the rather new Galax-Net.
"Rex, I'm telling you... I keep tossing my CV left and right and nothin' is sticking man. I've been at it for the past half a year, went to enough interviews to feel like I can call myself a marathon runner and got nothing out of it. Over twenty million companies exist and none of them want to hire me, not even for below the Minimum Wage. I got a week left on my rent and I am sinking harder than the whole superhero movie industry did back in 2050..." Evans said as he rubbed one of his eyes, red capilaries flared on his sclera.
"Dude, you know as well as me the Minimum Wage at this point is considered the high life. You'd be lucky if you got hired to do somethin' and got paid Minimal Wage and even then, most corpos ignore the Labour Rights Suggestion Bill, since it's not mandatory. Shit, why do you think I hustle?" Rex said while sounds of puffing could be heard from his end of the digital call.
"I was hoping a corporate job would pay more also, tsk... Dude, selling Adderallite drinks is nothing new, hell if you want to be able to survive the fifteen hour shifts most jobs have from Monday to Saturday you basically need a supply of those. God... I have a degree for most languages and cultures on Earth, art and theatre, cinematography, graphic design and video editing... I thought getting a gig doing some sort of advertising would be the easiest since demand is higher than ever... maybe I should have taken something for voice acting too... could have applied for those brain wave sleep vocal advertisers, heard there's some money there too, if you got a unique voice. Sigh... I don't know anymore..." Evans groaned as he leaned back in his duct tape covered chair that creaked as if it was in pain.
"Psh... Like that's the only side hustle I do. Four words. Stem cells equals credits. Hehe... but... sigh... You tried looking for something outside? Heard there's plenty good work opportunities out on the frontiers?" Rex asked with a clear sympathetic tone.
Evans nodded to himself as he leaned forward in his seat and began scrolling on his computer and entering one of the ten dozen tabs he had open. "Yeah, but they all basically require me to have an Inter Planetary Passport or Visa and those fuckers are expensive. It's just not... uh?..."
Evans paused as his tired eyes became transfixed upon something new that appeared on his feed. His expression seemed to grow with a mix of confusion and disbelief as he began grunting out his emotions.
"Uh... bud? You ok? Grunt if you are having an exhaustion stroke. E-Evans?! I swear if you die your mum gae, no joke." Rex said with a modicum of worry, which for someone with their amygdala fried from smoking granulated dopamine e-cigs, spoke something of their bond.
Evans blinked a few times as he finally managed to process the information on screen, his friend's joke aiding in snapping him out of the sudden stupor he was in. "Bro, I know you like old world banter as much as I like historical references, but you know as well as me, if we weren't talking privately using this dark web server for Disrod we'd be fucked on the mainstream comm platforms like Skippy. The bots listening convos report you to the authortities if you even said shit like that by accident. Be careful. Don't let that slip in public."
"You know I won't. Also I mainly talk in L33T with my friends on those platforms, it's such an old language at this point, it throws off the voice recording bots hard, especially when we mix it with other languages. So, what got your brain shorting just a moment ago?" Rex asked as his usual relaxed demeanor returned.
"Well, I was checking my old tabs and I must have clicked an invisible pop-up add. Got thrown on a page for... the "Sharing Humanity Intergalacticly Trade" Program. Says you can get paid for sharing the genuine human experience in various Xeno communities. They provide you with a Visa, cover your travel expenses and pay... ho fuck... that is like fifty percent over minimum wage..." Evans said, mouth agape already drooling at the corners of his mouth.
"Cap. That has to be one hundred percent cap. Bro... nobody names their program as an acronym for "S.H.I.T." and is not hard scamming. It's like the Nigerian princes of the early 2000s. You told me about that shit! Fuck knows what it actually is. You could be selling your DNA's cloning rights to the Chinese sweat shops through them, for all you know." Rex spoke in a super cynnical tone.
"Rex, how do you think I afforded rent for the last few months?! I'm pretty sure there's a fleet of me already, somewhere in China, making shoes for Adibus or Nöike!" Evans spoke with exhasperation born of a disperate want for a real working opportunity.
"... oh. ... Well shit. Did they pay you well? I'd see myself do that too. What do they ask for? Bone marrow or just nut in a cup?" Rex asked with genuine curiosity.
"Dude that info is all over the net and besides the point. I think I'll take the offer, at this point, I'm willing to risk it a bit." Evans continued as he tried to get off the tangential subject while starting to click around the program's website, starting to register onto the platform it directed him to.
"Eeeeh... I mean... I guess at this point anyone's personal info is somewhere out there anyways. Just make sure you can't get screwed too easily and give it a go. Heh... mfw this is actually a human traficking advertiser. That'd suck." Rex added.
"I'll let you know if I end up smuggled to some place like a xeno human organ farm. I'm sure they'd not mind me using their Wi-Fi. Well... that's... it. Done." Evans said with a tired, yet satisfied sigh.
"Heh... congrats man. You succesfully applied to be part of S.H.I.T. I hope it works out for ya." Rex said with a dry chuckle as he coughed and loudly puffed in his microphone.
"We'll see... Gonna log off and get some sleep and I pray I get the job before I am kicked out. Take care, Rex." Evans said as he prepared to get up from his computer, his friend since childhood, letting out a shriek, his usual way of saying of goodbye as they left a call.
With nervousness and a sense of a possible looming doom, Evans spent the next few days resting, and these dreary feelings would quickly be turned to nothingness as a new email came from the S.H.I.T. Program. They were presenting him with a digital visa and a ticket on an outgoing space shuttle flight to one of many planets closer to the frontier of the Spacial Trade Coalition, that Earth was part of, as well as an address and two names.
After packing, selling or throwing away parts of his belongings over the remaining few days until his flight, Evans sat on his luggage case as he looked back at the email with the details for his his trip. Now much more neatly cleaned and put together, and without bags under his eyes, the human took in a deep breath.
"So I'm gonna end up on a planet called Rag'gavv - 3, and my clients are listed as Kannash and Zzego Tripentzicc. Carbon based roughly humanoid species... but with tendrils for major limbs and additional ones on their heads... heh... looks like meaty dreadlocks, nice... oh... damn they got so many eyes though... one, two... five, but I guess it looks ok since they have no nose bridge to split them oddly. Wonder what they need a human for?"
Evans pondered over this question as he went to catch his shuttle, as well as the several weeks his trip took to Rag'gavv - 3. While on board he was notified of a pre-sent delivery for him. It seems his employers took into account the language barrier so they had a package prepared for him on his travel ship. The box contained an universal translator ear piece, that tightly tucks into your ear and a second piece that you can stick under your jaw to translate back.
"Well... as sketch as being given pre-delivered packages is, this'll come in handy." He sighed as he looked over the user's manual and took the device between his digits, looking at it uncomfortably long. "Ew... I don't think this shit will ever feel not wierd..." he groaned while stuffing the cold silicone and metal piece into his left ear and then pinned the second piece under his jaw. The boody thing pinched a bit, but the sensation of it being there shortly dissapeared.
With time passing, his mind created theory after theory of what awaited him, his hiring instructions asked of him to be well groomed and to dress adequately. Trying his best to follow the directions, he chose to dress in a relaxed business casual way, for when he arrives on the Rag'gavv - 3. He opted for an a mix of grey, white and dark blue for his attire, thinking it should make for a decent look. Besides this, in preparation to better adapt to the incoming world he'll have to reside on for an unknown amount of time, and to make the trip feel quicker, he began reading up on Rag'gavv - 3. The lecture wouldn't leave much in the way for surprise.
The gravity of the planet was slightly lighter than that of earth, oxygen was decently bountyful in the air, with a twinge of helium and carbon emissions had been harnessed by the rag'gavvian population for the purposes of better helping their flora to bloom. This was truly a society with an tasteful inclination towards a solarpunk type of lifestyle. The colors of the vegetation were ungodly levels of saturated, to where leaves were a sort of tealish green and many type of vine like or moss type plants took a more crimson maroon coloration and any fungi spotted you could bet to be fluorescent and just as toxic as beautiful, most of the time.
When Evans finally arrived at the space port of the planet he felt much relief, seeing his surroundings matched what he had read about, it was quite the fantastical place to arrive to, but the automated cab trip to the adress of his employers was about as expensive as expected.
"Bloody automated vehicles, I'd rather argue with an actual cab driver over price. At least they usually give a better deal if they see they can't push you around, but... sigh... arguing with customer support is a fucking nightmare." He groaned to himself during the drive.
A good hour passes by the time he finally got to his destination and that is where he double checked the coordinates on his phone's GPS location. He looked confused as his eyes stared at what seemed to be one of many simple suburban homes here. They were built to resemble hills, with vegetation growing on them and flat surfaces for outwards facing walls, peppered with plenty circular windows. Even the garage's roof was coated in grass and bushes, part of its outer edge continuing into a hill like slope as well.
"This local Zuulo-Map app better be accurate because I'm either getting kidnapped here and taken to where I'm supposed to go or this is the wrong adress..." Evans muttered as his confusion grew, hoping to get some sort elucidating answer to his presence here from those residing here.
The human approached the humble abode with his luggage and he nervously straightened himself. After his quick self check-up was done he was about to knock, stopping himself when he noticed what seemed like a buzzer with a digital pad and camera next to it. With a quick flick of his index digit he tapped the button, quickly being met by a melodious song akin to windchimes.
While waiting for someone to answer him, he took in a deep breath of air and exhaled, his shoulders relaxing, even in his rather straightened pose.
'Hm... it actually feels good to breath fresh air instead of recycled, phew... feels even better than those deep dive simulations I ran from time to time.' He thought pleased, seemingly his mood changing to something more hopeful.
Evans could feel his body start to ease up, something he didn't get to do much back on Earth, as the lifestyle there was so stressful, you couldn't even relax in your sleep. He was actually feeling a moment of joy, optimistic thoughts about his situation starting to seep into his mind sheepishly.
As a few good minutes of the windchimes ringing just lazily going on, they stopped as the door of the naturalist abode slowly opened, sliding into the wall. As the hydraulics of the door hissed, Evans' eyes refocused, looking directly at the figure beyond it.
There stood a figure with a teal blue skin like the sea in summer, at a bit over six feet tall, the tendrils on the head covered in nice bracelets made of carved wooden beads that neatly and gently clicked against one another. Five eyes, a big central one followed by another smaller four, all with purple irises looked on at Evans with a flicker of curious wonder. The body of this individual was rather thin and it curved nicely, the arms and legs being flexible tendrils. They seemed to be dressed in what looked like some sort of turtle neck sweater with elongated sleeves, leaving only a quarter of the upper tentacles exposed and a pair of tight shorts leaving most of the lower tentacles exposed. It stood there as if expecting something, its lower extremities, coiling underneath itself to form a pseudo standing seat.
"A-ah... Greetings. Is this the Trippentzicc residence? I've been hired by them to... well... I wasn't informed for whar reason exactly, but I am the one who took the job, Evans Muller." Evans said as he took a second to project the corporatist professionalism he had to put on back home whenever he was attempting to find work. Seeing a rag'gavvian up close had thrown him off a bit, but he didn't learn to pretend professionally for nothing.
The xeno before him listened to Evans and then it smiled showing a wide row of teeth triangular in shape, but rounded at the tips. "Oh! Good! We were expecting you. I'm Kannash. Apologies, for not answering sooner, you've caught me in the middle of my cooking. My husband, Zzego, is cleaning upstairs. Please, come in." The now, much more apparent, rag'gavvian woman said in a pleased tone as she re-entered her abode.
"Thank you, apologies for the intrusion. Mrs Kannash, I'm sorry to say, but my employers haven't exactly been clear on the details of my assignment. I just know I am here to help you and your husband with... something?" Evans said trying his best to mask his uncertainty with an air of openess to new challanges.
He'd follow behind Kannash, the hidraulic door closing behind the two of them. While he took a moment to rest his luggage down and take of his shoes and neatly set them by the door, Kannash had already sat down what smelt like some hot herbal mixture in a tea pot along with three cups at a table in the dining area. This ground floor had an open plan, much reminiscent of higher end homes on Earth in quality, where the living room and dining area were conjoined and the kitchen was separated by a wall that had been turned to a semi open counter top bar.
Evans curiosity about a xeno's day to day life nade him to notice the design of the cups and pot as having several handles on it, presuming it is meant for their tentacle apendages to curl around them multiple time for a better holes or to slide inside multiple of the handle hoops. His distracted demeanor would quickly snap back to focus as his host spoke.
"Ah. I see... well. Our details were a bit vague, so I believe it might be our fault, the situation is rather... sensitive. One moment..." Kannash said in a most relaxed tone before looking towards a set of stairs, that were short in height individually, but plenty in number, further down at the back of the living room. "My dew drop?! Our human hire has arrived, his name is Evans. Come! He's waiting for some clarification on his work." The xeno woman said loudly, before wrapping her lower tentacles into a seat once more and seating herself at the table.
Evans had just walked up to the table and reached out on instinct for a chair that... didn't exist. As he took a look about he noticed there wasn't exactly much to sit on, even the living room seemed to not have a couch or an armchair, but more like piles of pillows and some bags reminiscent of bean bags.
Before he could think of a way to bring this up in conversation, another figure slithered into view, dressed in a pair of shorts and what was basically looking like a body tight tank top was another Rag'gavvian, who looked shorter than his counter part, but more widely built, with thicker and meatier tentacles, the ones on his head held together neatly by several flat metal rings, rounded at the edges, that were made in various sizes to accomodated for the the tentacles on the head getting thinner at the tips. His eyes had golden irises that were rather piercing in their focus, yet tame and kind.
"Ah! Welcome E'evans, right? Interesting name. Whoa. We saw pictures of humans, but it certainly is something to see one in person and you do meet the few specifications we had on what kind of human we wanted the aid of. Zzego. I'm glad to have you in our home." The rag'gavian man said while approaching, doing the same tentacle trick as his wife to seat himself.
"Pleasure to meet you, sir. I'm glad I'm up to par." Evans said although mentally wondering what specifications they gave for him to be selected. He'd also made sure to not correct his customer's pronunciation of his name, something he learned to not do, the hard way, back home.
"Alright. Well if I remember humans mainly like to, how do you say... get on with it, heh, so we won't bother you too much with our personal curiosities about you and get to business, yes?" Zzego continued as he grabbed a mug of that tea, Evans noticing immediately how the xeno's tentacle first attempted to enter the hoops to wrap the cup before flicking out due to the heat and instead wrapping around the outer rim of the hoop handles several times.
"Indeed. Make yourself comfortable and we'll get on with it. We don't have too much time, our daughter will be home in an hour and a half or two." Kannash added while pouring a mug for Evans as well.
"I would, but I am sorry to say... I can't exactly do what you do with my own lower apendages. As nice as it would be, sadly mine only bend in two or three spots and not that much, heh." The human said trying to derive humor from this happening as to distract from the situation or any awkwardness it might result into. His mind slightly wondered about the mention of their daughter and why her not being here was relevant to the discussion.
"Pfft, haha ha... Of course. My apologies. Hold on, let me fix you something." Zzego said as he then proceeded to improvise a seat from a bean bag and several pillows for Evans to rest on.
"Ever the resourceful one, isn't he?" Kannash said proudly with glee while Evans shifted to make himself comfortable and Zzego retook his position at the table.
"Y-yes. Quite the problem solver." Evans said in a jovial tone, making sure to butter up his customers as best he could withoit making it obvious. "So. What are the details of my job?" He inquired after clearing his throat, taking the mug of tea he was offered and sipped it. The liquid was pleasantly warm, but the taste and strength of it was akin to black and mint tea in one mixed with a pepper's strenght in spice like burn to the throat and tongue. "Agh! Ahem-... phew..." he coughed while covering his mouth. "S-sorry. Ahm... ah. It's... whoa... It's got a little bit of kick to it, huh?" He said while trying to clear his throat, his eyes tearing up slightly.
"Yes! One of our traditional specialties. We were afraid it might be too much for humans, so we thought intially to give you something watered down, but we read that humans like what they consume to have some spice and flavor to it. Glad you are enjoying it." Kannash said happily, taking Evans' reaction as if it was a compliment.
"G-good- aha, ahem... good to hear you did your due dilligence, I also read up on the Rag'gavvian people a bit. Wanted to know where I was arriving to before my shuttle landed." Evans said taking a more mimicked sip of his tea, his nostrils unclogging from the sheer powerful smell of its steam.
"Ah. Then, it might make things easier to explain." Zzego said as his expression went more serious than jovial, with a tinge of frustration or self dissapoinment in it. "You know what the main physical traits of the Rag'gavvian are, right?" He said ina sort of bitter pained tone, Kannash silently wrapping an upper tentacle around one of his as she smiled weakly.
Evans noticing the shift in tone through his translator and the changing body language, he thought to tread carefully on the subject. "Uhm... yes. Four major tentacle appendages on the main body, five eyes and additional tentacles on the head, right? Unless I'm missing something else?" Evans said in a formal manner and feeling himself getting into that tense sensation as to when he was interviewing for work.
"No, you are correct. Those are the most recognisable feature and although they may differ slightly from person to person here, they are roughly always the same... well... not always anymore... but uh..." Zzego began trailing off, his speaking becoming unfocused.
"Our daughter..." Kannash interjected akin to a hero of conversation, coming to the aid of her beloved. "She was born with physical malformations that affected her eyes and the tentacle on her head. She's... uhm... the only one on the whole of Rag'gavv with these features altered." She said with a pain in her voice, now Zzego's tentacle holding hers tightly and as she took a gasp of air that edged on a whimper, he spoke again.
"It made things difficult for her... Our people are so used to the standard, so much so, that they get judgemental towards anyone of our kin having any sort of biological physical alteration affecting them. Because... well... it didn't really happen naturally before." Zzego said as he slapped his other tentacle onto the table. "It sickens me... and it sickens me more that I was like them..." he says as his trinagular teeth grit inbetween one another as he grimaces.
"Dough... dear. Calm down. Breath. You've been hard on yourself since she was born. All that matters is that the moment we saw her we both decided to love her as she is." Kannash said while wrapping her tentacles around her spouse. "I'm so sorry for this, Evans. This is a rather tender subject for Zzego and I. Although I don't agree with the behavior, our people have this adversity for physical malformations due to our history. The planet is not called Rag'gavv - 3 for nothing. Centuries of our people fumbling with how we balanced technology and nature led to experiments that severely affected our predecessor's health and physicallity. A deformed body is associated with our people's dark past on Rag'gavv - 1 and the effects they suffered from their experimental nuclear reactors." The xeno woman said sniffling from her flat nose as well as she continued to smile weakly while explaining.
Evans listened carefully, even taking some notes on his phone, under the table. He began to understand what they spoke of, but he couldn't understand how he was involved with this. "I understand. I am sorry for the struggle you must be going through and I think it was only normal for you to love your daughter as she is, any parent would do so for their offspring." Evans spoke with a fake smile, drowning memories of his early life in the children's home back on Earth.
His mind was starting to recall those unwanted memories now. Hundreds of thousands of children of all ages encarcerated in a mostly automated facility, the only human contact being the ocassional adult interested in adopting, which was rare and usually only afforded by the rich. Although his face related to the xeno parents as knowing what it's like to have supportive parents, it couldn't have been further from the truth with him.
After a few second longer than he'd liked of pause, the human cleared his throat. "Although I now understand the details of the situation and I sympathise with it, I am sorry to say... I do not understand what my role is in all this." He said giving his whole attention to the couple, most serious and ready to hear the details of his task.
"Oh-... silly us. It will take a bit of explaining so you understand the exact reason, but it is mainly to aid our daughter, Ccyana." Kannash said while taking a moment to calm herself.
Zzego who finally got his wits about him, took in a deep breath and sighed with a more composed attitude now. "Y-yes. We'll have to talk in detail about this, but the short version of our assignment to you, Evans, is that... we need you to date our daughter." The xeno husband spoke with the nonchalance of a hammer that just tossed through a window.
Evans was focused and listening to them with an intense intent, his fingers noting down on his phone any important details up until, Zzego gave his short version of the task at hand. At this point the human had his finger pressed down on his phone on the letter 'D' as it continously got spammed on his screen. He took a moment to process what he heard, he took a big sip of that throat killer of a tea and after a good choking fit he cleared his throat once more.
"Y-yyyyeah... ahem ahgn-... I-i'm... really going to need those additional details." He said as his expression conveyed his utter confusion, by the raised eyebrows, sucked in lips and the squinted eyes that just oozed doubt.

I’d like to preface this by saying I’m not pro smoking or pro big tobacco, and fully recognize and denounce the behavior of the big tobacco companies in the 20th century.
Most of us here are old enough to have witnessed the drastic shift of attitude towards tobacco in the late 20th century. Following the tobacco trials, several groups such as the Truth Initiative sprung up with seemingly endless PR budgets and damning claims about the effects of tobacco consumption and the behavior of tobacco companies. These groups are almost entirely funded by the tobacco companies themselves, albeit against their will. This was part of the penalty agreed upon after the tobacco trials. So what’s so bad about them?
Firstly, these groups consistently use hateful language and imagery to describe people who choose to partake in the consumption of tobacco products. These groups often characterize tobacco users as gross, ugly, or stupid. The specific ad I linked both utilizes ageist rhetoric and pushes shallow values to denounce smoking. While these are primarily intended to serve as warnings to nonsmokers, they convey it in a way that demonizes tobacco users, many of which are victims themselves. This demonization evokes a sense of shame in tobacco users, which is proven to only worsen the problem. There are much more effective ways to discourage tobacco use without ostracizing those who choose to partake.
Additionally, these organizations often resort to misconstruing information or blatantly lying in order to push their narrative. When these organizations first began, they primarily focused on traditional tobacco products such as cigarettes or chewing tobacco. These products contain numerous carcinogens with plenty of studies to prove it, so it wasn’t difficult for anti tobacco groups to convince us they were bad. However, when tobacco free alternatives such as e-cigarettes or nicotine pouches emerged onto the market, anti tobacco groups had to resort to misrepresentation.
As professor Michael Russell famously stated: “People smoke for nicotine but they die from the tar”. Nicotine, by itself, has rather benign health impacts. The harm from nicotine consumption mainly comes from the method of administration- not the molecule itself. The biggest risk nicotine itself poses is addiction, which is a characteristic of almost any psychoactive compound. Caffeine, alcohol, sugar, and nasal spray are all addictive, but you don't see addiction warnings plastered all over their packaging. After the popularization of eCigarettes, anti tobacco groups didn't yet have the necessary studies to "prove" they were harmful. However, they didn't let that stop them.
With the low hanging fruit (cigarettes) mostly out of the way, anti tobacco groups directed their focus onto tobacco alternatives, such as vapes or nicotine pouches. Due to the aforementioned lack of studies regarding these products, Anti tobacco organizations (I'm just going to call them ATOs) were forced to get creative. This led to a series of scare tactics that shifted ATO rhetoric from fact based harm reduction to outright misinformation.
As far as vaping is concerned, ATOs began focusing on nicotine and diacetyl. Common anti vaping slogans included "One JUUL pod is equal to 20 cigarettes" or other statements to that effect equating e-cigarette use to traditional cigarettes. The studies they cite for these claims are only looking at total nicotine content, rather than actual health impacts. This was a blatant attempt to misconstrue vaping as 'just as bad' as cigarettes. While vaping is undoubtedly harmful, there are countless cases of cigarette users noticing significant improvement in lung function shortly after transitioning to vaping. This is known as harm reduction, and it should not be discouraged. Attempting to frame vaping as an equal or even worse harm than traditional cigarettes eliminates a potential route for harm reduction or even cessation for cigarette users exposed to this rhetoric. Diacetyl is another molecule found in e-vapor that ATOs has focused their efforts on. Back when JUUL first became a household name, headlines were full of fear mongering about an elusive disease- "Popcorn Lung"- attributed to a chemical called diacetyl detected in some e-liquid flavors. Despite a lack of evidence or cases of popcorn lung solely attributed to vaping, ATOs took this and ran with it. They cited popcorn lung as a major risk factor for vaping, despite traditional cigarettes containing hundreds of times more diacetyl than e-vapor and ZERO cases of popcorn lung attributed to smoking.
Following the theme of mysterious illnesses haphazardly attributed to vaping, the EVALI "epidemic" is perhaps one of the biggest lies purported by these ATOs. You might notice that despite the fact that more and more people pick up vaping every year, you've entirely stopped hearing about EVALI. While EVALI was still dominating the headlines, ATOs immediately blamed nicotine vapes and used it as a talking point for years. Nowadays, the CDC doesn't even track EVALI cases anymore. The culprit, as it turns out, was not nicotine vaping, but rather black market THC products that share no ingredients with nicotine e-cigarettes. Regardless, ATOs never issued an apology for the misinformation they spread, and many continue to falsely list EVALI as a danger of vaping nicotine.
Recently, tobacco-free nicotine pouches have gained popularity in the US. These pouches eliminate most of the risk factors posed by other routes of administration: They are not inhaled, contain no carcinogens, and use only food grade ingredients and nicotine salt. These are an obvious method of harm reduction for tobacco users. Despite this, ATOs have already begun their smear campaign regarding these products. Due to the lack of actual risk factors, ATOs are forced to direct their efforts exclusively towards nicotine when it comes to pouches. The demonization of nicotine as a molecule actively dissuades people from seeking Nicotine Replacement Therapy such as gum, patches, or lozenges, under the logic that 'its still nicotine'.
But what about our kids? ATOs tend to use children as ammunition to convey scare tactics. Yes, minors should not have access to nicotine, and yes, big tobacco did market to kids in the 20th century. However, the majority of current underage nicotine use is not the fault of big tobacco. Tobacco ads are all but nonexistent. The portrayal of it being 'cool' in movies has long been outlawed. Social media is littered with anti vaping ads. Kids know its bad for them. If you went home and found your kid drinking underage, you wouldn't blame the alcohol companies (who do many of the things big tobacco got in trouble for). But what about the flavors that entice kids? Adults like flavor too. Your bubble gum cotton candy hard seltzer is definitely designed for adults... right? You get my point.
Overall, there is definitely a need for anti tobacco education, however it needs to be just that: education. Instead, we have ATOs that would rather misrepresent studies and utilize scare tactics under the guise that the ends justify the means. The remaining tobacco trial money would be much better used on the actual victims: the American people.

For all flavors it seems due to it being the only way to get the desired throat hit on a device like a Juul, especially for low mg like 3%, 1.8%, and .9%.
I'd be surprised if you found any quality vendor selling NicSalt-B and they didn't use Juul's "patented" formula of 3:4 Benzoic Acid to Freebase nicotine as anything else would be inefficient for protonating into Salts, $, risks of excess acids, and it kind of just has to be made like this "because of the way it is" lol.

If anything you'd want a small amount of excess freebase molecules, just to be sure 100% that all the acid is in a complex.
It's hard to be 100% precise so some safety buffer isn't unlikely, especially when manufacturing in quantity

This aligns with a note I'll have to find, but Juul pods contain a SMALL amount of Freebase. Off the top of my head I think 1-2% but I will find this note! While low, I thought that small % of Freebase may have part of the Juul throat hit/some other traits.
This is often done with solid Benzoic Acid crystals and Freebase nicotine powder then diluted into PG or VG. This process can be very dangerous, you should use extreme precautions when handling pure nicotine and should try to be avoided at all cost if not experienced.
Reading the e-cigarette forum I've read anecdotal admittedly, user experiences of mixing Benzoic Acid crystals into a PG, VG, or mix. At this time people traditionally would mix the Benzoic Acid crystal into the PG/VG nicotine dilution but charlie1465 wanted to avoid heat exposure for the nic base so they made a thread demoing mixing BA into PG or VG or mix then mixing that into PG/VG/mix Freebase nicotine.
Which while not avoiding all dangers does eliminate working with pure nicotine. It also takes less than 3 hours for reaction time to finish, this is a small batch but if the chemistry is repeated accurately and in a larger scale it should be the same duration of time I imagine. (take with a grain of salt)

Using Sodium Benzoate as an alternative to Benzoic Acid is additionally possible but most use Benzoic Acid due to its' abundance and cheap price.

The mistake I made in the first place was to not heat the solution enough. When heated to the correct temperature it disolves readily at this concentration. Eg. 10g BA in 90g (72ml) VG. I needed a VG solution for my final liquid PG/VG ratios.
So to conclude...heat is essential to make the BA dissolve especially in VG. It does dissolve more readily in PG. -charlie1465
In my attempt I mixed the BA solution which was the colour of milk with the freebase and then topped up the other ingredients (PG/VG Flavours). At that stage it looked extremely cloudy as you would expect from the addition of the cream like BA solution and that after shaking for about 10-15 minutes...no heat. So in conclusion there is a reaction which takes time to complete but as for exactly how much time all I can say is less than 3 hours.

PG's water-solubility at room temp seems to help here but may need some heat, and for VG bases you'll need even a little more.
Notes:

Ethyl alcohol is often a very effective solvent; and can be (relatively) easily evaporated. Thus, leaving the target ingredient suspended in the remaining carriers (for vaping purposes; PG, and/or VG).

I am not an expert so can't provide you with a baseline to work from except if you think about it logically you start with an acidic solution and then end up with a near neutral solution so one can assume that there are some molecules which haven't turned into nicotine benzoate which would result in an alkaline reading.
So with my (not necessarily perfect) logic one can assume that all the original benzoic acid has reacted and turned into nicotine benzoic...I hope this makes sense :)
