Admittedly, there is something inspiring to watch, read, or hear about how warriors overcame sheer obstacles, fought with their weapons and armor (which I do admit that I do find intriguing), fought as units, and conducted themselves around people. Unfortunately, the reality of the warriors chosen to be represented as benevolent is anything but. Throughout history, they have things that would now be deemed as absolutely atrocious, if not evil. Murdering defenseless peasants (such as over mere insults, even if they were justified), forcing themselves onto women, etc. And yet their crimes are whitewashed to depict them as heroes.
Now, I am aware that I am supposed to not look at it from a modern lens as values differed between times and places. And to an extant, I can understand certain things that were seen as good or at least required. For instance, I can somewhat understand why gender roles were valued as many men and women worked through division of labor (i.e. one party taking care of one thing allowed another to focus on something else). However, there are still some things that I just cannot accept. People could still feel things like empathy, compassion, fear, hate, love, and just any other human emotion. A warrior could still feel for what others are going through or what they may go through. He could still respect the sanctity of life of people in general. Yet many choose to look down upon and murder the defenseless such as during sieges (it'd be one thing if the peasants were trying to kill. It's another if they are helpless yet are cut down or tortured). In fact, many were even needlessly sadistic such as what they did with women (I will never, EVER empathize with such predators). Also, even in those times, it was recognized that things such as sexual violence were looked down upon. For example, the Bible lists lust as a deadly sin. Yet that didn't stop knights from doing that during warfare. So even though it was seen as wrong, people ignored it when it became inconvenient.
Also, the idea of them having warrior codes like Chivalry and Bushido is also a more modern invention. There were no unified rules that stressed good behavior such as protect the weak. At most, there were a few general rules such as follow your lord, but hardly anything about how to treat people with respect. Those came after their heyday.
Now, I also know that there were rules when it came to some of these deeds. For instance, a samurai cutting down a peasant through kirisute gomen had to have a witness to testify whether or not the warrior was "defending his honor". If there was no evidence that he was insulted or provoked, he could be punished severely. But still, it is disproportionate retribution for a armed man to wound/killl a person for something as petty as a rude remark. It'd be one thing if the peasant (during war or in a civilian setting) was threatening a warrior or, worse, his family, so it makes sense to strike in self-defense. Hell, I could even understand a slap or punch in the peasant's gut. It's another when a working class member is not able to lay a finger yet is struck down. In my opinion, this is the biggest form of cowardice.
Just to clarify, my main issue is not us talking about warriors like samurai and knights. Rather, it's how they are depicted as noble heroes to look up to. It'd be one thing for a documentary, story, or anything about them showcasing what they were, pros and cons and all. For instance, Akira Kurosawa depicts the moral grayness of feudal Japan, including samurai. In Seven Samurai, the peasants fear the titular group because, as Toshiro Mifune's character ranted about, the warrior class has done all sorts of f-ed up crap to the commoners. But what is done instead in many works is that artists strip away the stuff we consider bad and present them as our modern idea of heroism.
Can you imagine this being done with modern armies or groups that we deem as utterly reprehensible? $hitler and his goons, putin and his cronies, etc. One argument that I've seen is that ancient warriors so long ago that those affected are not around. But if that's the case, can you imagine the reprehensible modern armies becoming romanticized centuries to come? Scratch that, it's already happening with people like neo-n@zis, which just makes things more convoluted.
I'm sorry for my ranting. The thing is, as someone who cares about people, no matter how long ago it's happened, I feel for those who suffered harsh lives. So many people worked back-straining labor and providing foundational needs for their societies. And yet such people were looked down upon and cruelly treated. And despite that, their oppressors get to be the ones romanticized, which saddens and infuriates me.

i (17m) and my mother (56f) have never had a proper relationship. up until i was 12, she worked 7 days a week from 8am-6pm in order to fund my fathers trips across the world. i was raised by myself and the occasional nanny, and hardly ever saw my mother growing up. it also fell upon me to raise my (15m) brother, as neither she nor my father were around to do so. i would often have to make meals for the two of us, and would stay up to do my homework after helping him with his. despite this, i still managed to get everything done, but i never had time to myself except at school.
i have been bullied my whole life, so i was very alone. i tried telling a teacher about what was happening, but they dismissed me. almost every night i would come home from school crying but there was nobody for me to talk to about it. my brother was a very social person and had extracurriculars most nights after school that his friends parents would take him to. whenever i did get to see my mother, she would spend the whole time fussing over my brother and praising how well he was doing.
my father would spend a few months away at a time, and when he was around he was drunken and abuse towards me. he hadnāt had a job in over 15 years, and was constantly spending the money my mother earned. the one time i tried to talk to him about how i donāt have friends, i referred to him as a friend, and he looked me in the eyes and told me āiām your father, not your friend. i only care about you because you are my child.ā later that night he left for another trip and didnāt come back for a year.

when i was 14 i attempted to end my life. i was in hospital for two months and my parents visited me once a week taking turns. none of my extended family came to visit me, and when i asked my mother why, she said that she hadnāt told them because it wouldāve made her look like a bad mother.
a few months after my hospital release, i developed a drug addiction and would prostitute myself in order to have the money to fund it. i got expelled from the school i was at, and went into a very dark place. i was constantly taking pills, cutting myself, and sleeping with men up to 15 years older than me. my parents never knew about my addiction, as i moved in with a friend while i was going through it, and they didnāt talk to me until i came back sober.
i was put into a different school, and began drinking heavily. a month after i started at the new school, i relapsed with pills. a month after, i odāed while at home. my father found out and dragged me out of my bed and threw me down the stairs. he then dragged me into the bathroom and slammed my head into the tiles, telling me that they were coming to take me away and that i was ruining the family. he called me horrific names that i donāt think that iām able to write down in this sub. once he left to go get another drink, i ran out of the house. he called the police on me and they found me and took me to hospital.
once i was released, i started dating a guy who was roughly 9 months younger than me, and i did not spend a moment sober while i was with him. at one point when i was sleeping over at his, i odāed again, and instead of helping me, he slept with me. this happened 5 times while we were together, but i stayed because he was the only person in my life who saw me as a boy. i broke up with him because i stopped taking pills and i realised what he had done.
i later developed anorexia and lost 20kgs, despite me being underweight to begin with. my parents know none of this. throne fiend i had made at my new school stopped talking to me because i was becoming a very bad person to be around.
fast forward two years, and i have recovered from my addictions, sh, and eating disorder. i am doing a part time nursing degree while also completing high school. a lot more than what iāve mentioned has happened, but it isnāt as relevant. my mother recently has started trying to form a relationship with me, and is getting very upset that i am not putting in any effort to be closer to her. i told her that i am moving out soon, and she told me that i am a horrible daughter.

TL;DR: Traumatic month of cat issues between our two 1-year-old cats, recently learned one has maybe 2 weeks to live. I canāt stop grieving enough to focus on him in the present.

My husband and I have had a terrible month. One of our two young cats was hospitalized for 4 days a month ago with a fever of unknown origin, but thankfully he is on the mend so far. Itās been stressful and heās on daily meds for now, still (FIP diagnosis).
Our other cat, his brother, suddenly was off. We noticed it last week: he ate a bit less, played a bit less, slept a bit more. We brought him to the vet when we saw him eating litter. The vets, who also see our other cat, were sure we were just anxious, that he was just stressed and needed more time with us, but we did a blood test anyway.
On Friday we learned his red blood cells, blood cells, and platelets are way down and he tested positive for FeLV on a snap test. We went back in today to get both boys tested on the longer IFA test. But they gave us two weeks with him. Iām not sure heāll make it that long; he is less and less energetic since the day we brought him in.
Iām trying to focus on him but I canāt. I keep wondering if we should have done a blood transfusion despite the risks and low success rates. None of our vets think itās FIP but a large part of me wants to start treating him for it just in case. They put him on antibiotics and Iām waiting for a miracle. I know we shouldnāt torture him with hospitalizations and tests and injections, as he is very much a homebody and an anxious cat. Thatās for me, not him.
They just turned one. Iām so heartbroken, and keep thinking about what I might have missed and what we should have done differently. And I lost my childhood cat two years ago, so Iām thinking about how I know Iām going to forget what he looks like, what his purrs and meows sound like, what he feels like. How he used to headbutt and climb and play, which he hasnāt done in a week.
But heās still here, and me crying every time I look at him isnāt helping anyone. How do I focus on the present?

 | Hey Everyone, submitted by Hour_Training_832 to pokemonrng [link] [comments] Right now Iām on a journey to try and get as many Legendary and mythical Pokemon as I can that are currently locked behind the 3DS wall outside of paywalled Pokemon Go. I have already Completed Pokemon Blue to obtain a Shiny Mew, and Pokemon Silver to get a Shiny Celebi, however now it was time to tackle Pokemon Emerald to get a Shiny Deoxys and Jirachi! Shiny WISHMKR Jirachi :) To do any of this, I have to start a fresh copy of Pokemon Emerald so I can RNG all of my encounters. If you are unfamiliar with them, please check out I'm a Blissey, or Papa Jefe to get familiar, but Iām sure most people are atleast semi familiar in this subreddit. They can explain it way better than I can since this is the first time I have ever RNGād anything in a game. In layman's terms though I chose Pokemon Emerald for a couple reasons, firstly, because it has all of the legendaries in it, and access to Deoxys on birth Island, and secondly, because unlike Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon emerald starts on advance or seed 0 everytime you start it up, so itās very easy to identify how many advances (time) the game needs to hit a shiny frame, since each PID and SID combination has a certain amount of shiny spreads that are available to them in a given game. This means, through normal shiny hunting means, Pokemon Emerald is probably one of the worst games to shiny hunt in, but from an RNG standpoint, it's one of the best! Video Version of this here - https://youtu.be/kJFrerrjL6s?si=9lOn46Ex-0thskSv With that semi brief explanation out of the way - it was time to start hunting for a shiny Mudkip, this took a long time to get, since this was the first time I had actually tried this, I had to keep going back to videos to learn how to calibrate correctly, if I was using the right timer setting in Eon timer etcā¦ but after 8 hrs I finally found my Shiny Mudkip! I named It Jam, since I had recently done a shiny only playthrough of Pokemon Scarletās DLC and used a Shiny Mudkip named Jellyā¦ so it only seemed fitting! Now I can start on my journey to beat the Hoenn region, along the way I catch a shiny Electrike that I named Blueberry, Aron named Strawberry, Poochyena named Marmalade, Numel named Blackberry, Trapinch named Boysenberry, and finally Bagon named Apple Buttr. Bagon I actually got on the second reset which surprised me. To beat the base game it took me about 17 hrs. Since I cleared the Pokemon League I decided to hunt a Shiny Beldum that I named Earl Grey, because I had found an Earl Grey Jam that someone had made lol. Now with the game finally complete it was time to start getting ready to create a Glitch pokemon so I could perform ACE that would allow me to get anything and everything I wanted in Pokemon Emerald! ACE SET UP Now it was time to start getting the necessary Pokemon to do this glitch, as there are 2 pokemon in the game that fit perfectly for what we need to get done, first I need a Ralts to trade for a Seedot in Rustboro city named Dots, and then a Volbeat for Pluses the Plusle in Fortree city. Once I have those I need to make clean backups using the battle tower cloning glitch in case I mess up, which is the main reason I had to do the whole game before starting on this glitch! Once I have all the clones set up it's time to start Prepping for Dekamark! Creating the Dekamark - Go Beyond Pluses Ultra! Papa Jefeās video covers all the differences between each version of emerald, so what you need to do might be slightly different, since Iām playing an english copy of Emerald I EV train my Dots with 17 HP EVās and 6 Attack EVās and deleted all of Plusles moves besides growl using the move deleter. Once I have done that, Iām ready to initiate the glitch, I clone several copies of the changed Pokemon and put them in box two in a specific orientation that increases your success rate of getting a working glitch egg Pokemon. These are the following. Plusle slots: 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 Seedot slots: 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 I now give my Shuppet 2 HP ups, because I need it's HP to be odd (if you do this you might only need 1, HP just needs to be odd) Then I went to Route 101 to catch a low level Pokemon, put it in my party with Shuppet, and a flying type Pokemon. This is where I save to make sure if anything gets messed up there is an easy reset point. After fainting the low level Pokemon on my team, I use curse with Shuppet to bring its HP to 1, now it's time to deposit my flying type Pokemon and use a pomeg berry on my shuppet. Since Iāve used two HP Upās on this Pokemon once I use a pomeg berry it actually brings shuppetās HP value below zero. With this done I engage into a battle, check the summary of a Pokemon, try the switch Pokemon hold up on the dpad for 5 seconds to go into the games memory cache to alter data that is going to allow me to get the glitched Pokemon egg. Once complete I go back to the battle screen and try to run, but it says Iāve fainted and returns me to the pokemon center, with a quick check of the now corrupted eggs that were plusle and dots before the glitch, I can see if it worked, unfortunately I had all bad eggs, I had to run this part about 7 times to get the Egg that I needed, a hatchable egg, named Dots in a Nestball. Once I found the egg I take an uncorrupted clone of Dots and put it in box 10 slot 19 thanks to Slepnir - https://pastebin.comSleipnir17 I then use a simple code to hatch the Decamark egg without the game crashing. Turning the dots into a glitched Decamark pokemon (this is dicey because you cannot hover over it, there's a couple more steps I needed to do, I needed to catch a Pokemon and name it xāzN6FFxC and place this pokemon into Box 10 slot 20 next to the Decamark. Then exit the box and save, booting the game back up, and using another of Slepnirās codes to finally have a stable Pokemon that we can use to execute code from anywhere! I also at this point used the E-Shark code generator to create a pokemon from nothing, and then turn it into an exit bootstrap Pokemon with another eshark code so that I can execute codes using 13 boxes instead of 14 boxes. https://e-sh4rk.github.io/CodeGeneratoindex.html Now it's time to RNG some Shiny Legendary Pokemon! I head off to catch the Regiās, using the power of RNG I catch each of these in 3 attempts. The hardest part of getting them was actually catching them, so I went and found a shiny Shroomish so I could make the next set of Legendaries much easier to get! Luckily I found this one in 5 attempts on my shiny resets. Now there were 5 more Legendary Pokemon to tackle with Breloom, so I used the Box glitch to obtain the Eon Ticket, and catch a shiny Latias after 5 resets. But how was I going to obtain the other Lati? Since one is a roamer, and the other sits on this island? Well my little Decamark of course! I use it to respawn the Lati on the island, and then swap it with Latios! I caught this one after 3 Resets since It was calibrated from the battle with Latias previously, I was feeling pretty great about how good I was getting at RNGāing encounters at this point in the game. It's definitely a front loaded effort to learn. With the Lati duo out of the way it was now time to go after the box legendaries from Generation 3, I started with Groudon which actually took quite a bit of time, I think 15 resets, because walking forward felt much different than pressing A. Fortunately Kyogre seemed much easier, probably because i was used to moving to engage the battle so hitting the right shiny frame became much easier. Finally, one of the best shinies that's ever been releasedā¦ Rayquaza. I was able to hit this Pokemonās shiny frame after only 3 resets and seeing its shiny form gets me excited every single time. Seriously one of my favorites. With the Legendaries down, I was feeling really great about my progress, however it was now time to move forward to the Mythical pokemon. Deoxys was up first, with a quick Decumark code, I gained access to Birth Island, and after a little trouble with the puzzle on the island. I got Deoxys with 4 resets to find one of the coolest shiny Mythical Pokemon. I also decided to snag Mew, which even though the English Mew on Faraway island isnāt legit, I wanted to still grab. This one actually gave me a little more difficulty, but after 18 resets and finding the right shiny frame I finally got it! Now I have every single Legend and Mythical in Pokemon emerald besides Jirachiā¦ But how the heck was I actually going to get Jirachi? This Pokemon only has 9 Shiny frames that are legitimate - https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/rdxEbTm4/ and anything outside of that would be flagged as hacked or illegal.. So now the Journey starts for obtaining a complete legitimate Jirachi. I start by changing my Trainer ID to the ID that Wishmkr Jirachi has to be by using Esharks code generator to make a box spread that changes my ID to the desired number 20043, once thats complete I now have to change my Secret ID to 0 which is the required Secret ID spread for a legitimate Wishmkr. We have to check to see if this works however, so before I do the change I catch a Pokemon and Nickname it KFC, change the SID by using Eshark Codes Generator again with my glitch Pokemon. Then go to the name rater to see if it allows me to change its nickname, and thankfully it didnāt so we were successful changing Our Secret ID. Now there was only one thing left to do. Change our Actual name to Wishmkr. We can do this by using Slepnirās Box code which changes our name to whatever we enter into box 5. Use our Dekamark glitch pokemon again and now I am the WishMkr! (you will need to you use Wayback machine with Slepnirās Pastebin 3 otherwise you will not be able to view it) With all of my prepwork is done, It was time to finally start hunting a Jirachi.. So I use a box code to create a custom outbreak of Jirachi on any route that I want. I very quickly head over to the route I spawned the mass outbreak on, and encounter a Wurmpleā¦ Well that didnāt work, so I found another Massive mass outbreak code to use, but the pokemon only spawn on Mirage Island, So I firstly need to spawn Jirachiās on Mirage Island. And then with one more code I finally spawned Mirage island, now I just needed to see if it worked.. I flew to Pacifidlog town and thankfully Mirage island had spawned, I just needed to see if Jirachiās outbreak had worked this time, and Thankfully it had! Now I just needed to find the PID of a Legitimate Shiny Wishmkr Jirachi, I looked for 12hrs but couldnāt find a legitimate Pokemon with the correct PID that would work for Jirachi.. So what do I do, was I screwed? Shiny Wishmkr Jirachi was the only reason I even started down the path for Gen 3ā¦all the other Pokemon besides Deoxys can really be caught in newer gamesā¦. things were not looking good. Then I found a Reddit post about someone performing this glitch as well that solved my issue... Essentially the spread I was looking for didnāt exist. I needed to use a Synchronize PokĆ©mon with the nature I was looking for, which happened to be serious, and use method 1 in PokeFinder. I also needed to use the PID to IV calculator and then after doing this I FINALLY found the right PID for a legitimate shiny WISHMKR Jirachiā¦ Word of advice, if you plan on doing this, donāt do it the way I did, because the only thing that separates Wynaut, which is the Pokemon we switched out Jirachi for in the mass outbreak for, is the level the Pokemon spawns at, so I couldnāt tell if I was 1 frame off, or 100 frames off. I would use Esharkās code to change the species of the pokemon that is the correct PID like Cooked Fish meat did, or just freeze the frame on the seed before and then use sweet scent to get your encounterā¦ . Thankfully after riding the struggle bus for about another 8 hrs hunting this Pokemon I finally found a shiny! And even though this was a struggle, it was super satisfying to see shiny Jirachi show up on our screen, as this Pokemon at this point had taken about 60 hrs to seeā¦ Now there was only one problem leftā¦this Pokemon still shows its caught in the wrong game, Shiny Wishmakr Jirachi can only come from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Thankfully using a Eshark generator code to change the pokemonās encounter data to make it be from the correct game. Now the Jirachi shows it was encountered in Littleroot town at level 5, and with a quick change back to my Original Trainer ID and Secret ID This Wishmkr Jirachi shows it was encountered in a fateful encounter, which is the flag this Pokemon needs to have to be considered a legitimate Pokemon. The Last Step! I needed to check to see if this Pokemon was actually considered Legal in PKhex, since PKhex apparently has better legitimacy checks then Pokemon does, and thankfully after porting in my save file I can see that I have finally created a Shiny WISHMKR Jirachi, that was encountered in fateful encounter in Pokemon Ruby. Iāve done a lot of shiny hunts, legal shiny hunts. And I have to say that RNGing this Shiny Jirachi was one of the most difficult things Iāve attempted. Partially because I did it the hard way, but also because the Pokemon isnāt supposed to be easy to obtain. I was so thankful to finally snag this! With this complete I did some more competitive hunting and beat Japanese emerald to send a legit shiny mew up to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as well. I believe there is only one more game I can so like I did this game, which I am super excited about completing in the near future! |

Hi everyone. About a week and a half ago, I woke up one morning, and felt discomfort in my lower eyelid on my left eye (I knew exactly what that meant).
I looked in the mirror and my eyelid was noticeably inflamed.
A stye was up and coming. I already had one 6 months ago on my upper eyelid (it got massive and it popped in my sleep, it was super painful and I think I even got some scar tissue from is, and the lash in that spot still hasn't grown back yet).
Anyway, I went to my local pharmacy first thing and they gave me drops for infected eyes (Optrex Chloramphenicol).
Used that as instructed (every 2 hrs the first 2 days and every 4 hours for the 3 days after that).
It worked like a charm. Inflammation went down completely. I thought I was off the hook.
Finished the treatment 2 days ago and this morning I looked at the site of the infection to find that a small yellowish spot has been formed.
What to do next? Should I go back on the drops?
Should I start using a heat mask?
Also, I don't know if the picture is clear enough, but ever since my upper one healed, I noticed a small bag of fluid has been formed on the upper eyelid? I've circled it in red.
What do you think that is? Any reason to be concerned?

 | Hi everyone! im a one piece fan and i also have played a lot of TCG through my life, right now i just bought 3 OP ST and i liked the gameplay a lot so far, feels a little similar to CF Vanguard, that i used to play when i was in high school, i did a little research about meta building and the avg price for a competitive deck its about $400usd, here is where my concern comes... submitted by rockopola to OnePieceTCG [link] [comments] I come from Pokemon where the avg price of a competitive deck its around $70usd, some go as low as $40usd and still winning important tournaments, here is where an important question come to my mind is, its one piece staple meta cards going to stabilize at any point? i mean i could understand a deck being as expensive as maybe $300 cuz it uses some fancy looking cards that are the peak of the pools of a Booster Pack, but in OPTCG for example the P/R Luffy Deck being around $300 just because a set of 4 of an ugly looking card like Purple Queen from ST04 doubles the decks price, and also the P/R Law deck being super expensive cuz that same Queen card + a worst looking Red Gordon card! that really sucks imo, it hurts that you have to buy 4 copies of common looking cards for like 40usd each and if it doesnt get solved its going to really make a lot of tcg players quit or dont even try. https://preview.redd.it/o983ejl82d1d1.png?width=1266&format=png&auto=webp&s=33cc757c2bd588582d877bafd0af7ff009dd5d11 Me and my friends have been struggling so much to build good decks so we can play the game as it should be without wasting our money on cards we dont even like so we just said fk it, lest just proxy those expensive ugly looking cards(i've never used proxys before), I have never experienced something like this in any tcg i've played, maybe i can recall 3 similar cases, some i vaguely remember but want to mention for comparison and mention the way i think they fixed it (skip this if you dont care about other tcg comparison): 1st case: Long time a go when i used to play Yugioh, there was few expensive cards that some meta decks used, the one i remember struggled to get was called Dark armed dragon, it was about 30usd each if irc, also kind of remember others called Honest and Judgment dragon. So as far as i rememeber, they released a golden product that every pool was meta cards like those 3 that usually were expensive and this making the prices get low enought to make those decks way more afordable. Dont ask me about the community respose about this cuz i was a child and just remember that i was happy that me and my friends were able to get the cards we needed. 2nd case: CF Vanguard released globaly, of course not even half the global popularity as One piece, at realease i remember that other than the top pools from boosters, there were cards with a mechanic called "Perfect Guard", that every deck used 4 of, every deck clan had their own perfect guard card tho, they were kind of expensive and had not the coolest art, so i just quitted for a while cuz didnt want to waste alot of money on cards i dont like, and as far as i remember it wasnt long til they got cheaper and building a CF Vanguard deck was way more afordable, enought that i started playing again and build more than 3 top tier decks at a time, i think they just reprinted those card on new expansions with same rarity but different art, also the new art was way better imo. (Don't ask me about the current state of this TCGs cuz i have no idea) 3rd case: Roaring Skies Shaymin EX at Pokemon TCG, almost every deck used this card, some used full set of 4 some less, it had just 2 variants, both were expensive, with this i dont really remember how it got solved or if it even got solved, cuz i stoped playing and just came back to Pokemon TCG a few months ago. In conclusion, i have hopes that One Piece TCG gets stable prices soon enough, i mean i think its easy as reprint those basic staple meta cards on a product like the Gold thingy i mentioned YuGiOh did, i've heard rumors about a "Treasure Boosters Set" coming that might be exactly this (Hope it does release Globaly, cuz idk why but in japan the prices are way better than English already) , so i think waiting a few months for playing this tcg properly its what im going to do, and casually play proxy meanwhile, cuz i love one piece and i love tcgs but its frustrating that me and my friends cant go to locals and play our decks the way they should. I don't think he realizes he is very verbally abusive. For context, I have been with this man 15 years. He in all is a great man , but when he gets mad, he says the worst things to me.
He was never like this before kids or before marriage. Within the last eight years I got diagnosed with multiple chronic illnesses. I understand, maybe stress and depression could be contributing since I cannot do much, but I feel like I'm making excuses for his behavior.
I have talked to him about his behavior and the last time was about a month ago. I have been going through a lot. For context, I didn't like the way he was handling disciplining our child the one day. I told him to please stop. I notice we have two very different parenting styles, which have been an issue. This time I really didn't like the way he was handling it. I won't go into context because it really upsets me.
He looked right at me in front of our children and told me "To shut the fuck up."
He then realized how upset I was. He tried to talk to me. I shut the door and we talked in our room . I was crying . I had enough of the way he speaks to me. My breaking point. "Why do you talk to me that way? I'm your wife! I would never tell you to shut the fuck up! If this was our daughter and her husband said that to her would you be upset?" He says "Yes. " I said "Then why am I any different? I'm you're wife. You telling ME to shut the fuck up. I'm telling you our daughter is going to think this is okay behavior in the future. Our son is going to think it's okay to treat women this way. It's not good for the children to see you treat me that way.
He said " I'm sorry you got caught in my anger." When he said that, I was completely floored. Floored . Seriously???
I told him " I grew up watching my parents fight and it was terrible. They stayed in the marriage for us and in the long run it hurt us. "
He then said " You're always playing the victim. " I feel like he was gaslighting me. I said "No, I'm telling you the reality of what I went through. "
I couldn't believe the man who LOVES me is saying this shit to me. He hasn't done it since ,but I feel like this is just a pattern.
I feel like he is a great guy, he is a great father BUT HIS ANGER . He is taking it out on me . I know I can't do much because of my illnesses and I try to do as much as I can. Sometimes I don't think he is sympathetic enough to realize. He still thinks I can do the things I did eight years ago.
My friends and family are starting to notice the way he talks to me sometimes. My best friend did yell back the one day because he did tell me to shut up in front of her.
I feel like I'm stuck. I love this man to death he is sweet when he isn't mad. I feel like therapy will help. I want to work this out. We took vows. For better or for worse. For sickness and in health. I'm trying my best. I'm trying to find a therapist for us . I said to him we need therapy. He agrees,but I wish he realized the way he speaks to me , it isn't normal .
I feel depressed and I know we have a lot to work on. I feel like my marriage is falling apart. Even though he can be really sweet most of the time . What he says to me when he is mad, really sticks to me. It hurts a lot.

Recently, I am interested about a program in Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (the full name is The Baylor College of Medicine-Texas Medical Center Leadership Education in Adolescent Health) for adolescent and young adult health leaders through didactic, experiential, interdisciplinary education and training. and is based on research in the core health disciplines of medicine, nursing, nutrition, psychology, social work, and public health. I think there doesn't seem to be a program like this in Australia yet. Iāve just come back from holiday with some family including my cousins and their 12mo. We have a 7mo. Their baby is very chill and extroverted, especially since learning to crawl. Life and soul of the party. Our baby is a sweetheart but is cautious in loud environments and can have periods of fussiness and grumpiness. Sheās also very low sleep needs while theirs is high sleep needs.
When Iām with them they make me feel like these very normal personality traits and differences are down to our parenting choices rather than babyās nature. They couldnāt stop commenting on our lack of schedule or sleep training (they strictly do both) and clearly think these things are what make their baby so chilled. They implied a lot that our baby must be overtired, which trust me never happened because itās very obvious when sheās overtired š she just needs less sleep than their baby.
I donāt feel the need to explain why a schedule never worked or would work for our baby or that I donāt feel a need to sleep train but it does chip away at your confidence a bit when the babies are being subtly compared all the time and no one seems to question their parenting methods because of their babyās nature. Itās so annoying because if our baby was super chill all the time weād probably be complimented on how ālaid back and attentiveā we are.
Just looking for solidarity really, or advice on how to internally rise above and know better haha. Hard when youāre a ftm to stay confident and not let it get you down

This spring, after reading some articles online, I decided to be brave and prune it. I cut off all of the dead branches in the middle and pinched back a few healthy ones and now it looks like this! (See pics) However, Iāve also attached a photo of what it used to look like, and I donāt know what to do to get it back. It was so bushy you could barely even see the middle. Is there any way to promote growth in the middle of the plant so it becomes bushy again? I checked the areas where I pruned it and it hasnāt grown anything there, despite the branches being alive (they were green when I cut them). Surely trees can just regenerate and grow new branches? Any advice would be much welcome š¤ (The watering/sunlight conditions havenāt changed at all, itās been by this window for about 2 years now. I was overweight for a good 20 years; we think this was when my thyroid started causing issues, and it took many years for the NHS to even consider that a problem. I also had no morning erections for a good ten years. I honestly cannot remember the last time I felt hungry, and that was after either an hour of weight lifting or hiking for a full day in the Austrian Alps (the longest one was a 10km round trip and a 1200m climb and then descent).
It took several years to sort the thyroid, and I was still unable to lose weight, although other things had resolved themselves. My GP refused to investigate further, saying simply I was too young. Plus, back in 2019, my Testosterone level was 17.1nmol/L, and now it is down to 7.5, and apart from being a few years older, nothing else has changed weight-wise or fitness, etc. I have had many Covid jabs as my father was extremely vulnerable, and I was his carer.
I am now under a different GP practice that started from scratch and said that, in their opinion, something underlying was causing the myriad of symptoms. They started testing and thought she knew what was wrong. It was agreed that, in computer terms, there was a tick box that needed ticking, but finding which one would take time.
However, their final idea saw her ask for guidance from Endocrinology; they said to do nothing and that they would take over. This was in 2023. However, Testosterone issues are an ultra-low priority in my area, so my expected appointment is in 2025.
For the past few months, I have seen an Endocrinologist privately with the agreement of my GP, who has done all the requested tests and agreed that if any prescriptions are needed, they will do it.
In addition to the above, dieticians have cleared me, having seen them privately and on the NHS.
I spent a year with a personal trainer at a bodybuilder gym, working out with him three times a week with no results and stopped through no results but with growing mental and physical fatigue. Walking 10,000 steps a day is not a problem for me.
I have had this all on hold for a while, what with COVID-19 and then a relative's very poor health. It is now time to focus back on myself, I think. I sleep a good 8 hours a night and get up feeling worse than going to bed ā although randomly, I do have bouts of insomnia.
As mentioned to my GP and Endocrinologist, I have no problem putting in the hard work at the gym, but when that hard work does absolutely nothing for muscle mass or body shape, etc., it gets very depressing. I guess that does give me one direct question: How long do I need to leave it before going back if my Endocrinologist prescribes TRTādo I need to let my body recover a bit before stressing it by doing weights, etc.?

Testosterone has been done now 6 or 7 times, always within 0.2 or below and always done between 08:50 and 09:10 in the morning.
In addition, she requested an ultrasound, and the results came back as 29mm AP diameter and 19mm AP diameter, respectively, for the testes.

So I ordered some cheap keycaps from AliExpress because I really really wanted to have Kuromi themed keycaps and pretty much the only ones available are cheap keycaps from Ali. When ordering I didn't even looked at what profile they are and when they came in my first thought was these really do look cheap, but hey it's what I expected. Later I learned these are XDA profile which I didn't even realize was a thing tbh.
But after 2 weeks of using I don't want to go back to any other really. I love the big surface of every key and they are so comfortable to type on for many hours at the time. They also have a very nice silky sort of feeling texture to them. The only thing I'm not so sure about yet is the sound. I like more the creamy sound, but these are veeeery thocky. But I think I'm slowly getting used to it and kinda starting to like it.
Sometimes the best things come when you are not looking for them.

Hi, Iām a 22yo student currently finishing my double degree in two foreign languages in Europe and Iām looking into going into a different field when I enter graduate school, Iāve been considering PR, Marketing or International Relations. Due to the Bologna sustem here and education being free I thought it would be a smarter choice for me to broaden my knowledge before I join the workforce. But my problem here is: I am not so sure I want to do a 9-5 pointless job that seems to be the end-all-be-all for most graduates of the before mentioned degrees. Iāve always wanted to go into more creative fields like graphic design or industrial design but Iāve not gotten the support from my parents since both of them are in this field and know how hard it is to succeed (although they are very successful themselves right now). So I donāt think I have the skills or the time to learn things like InDesign or Photoshop and enter graduate school in those fields anyway. I just wish there was a way for me to turn back time and focus on the things I actually enjoyed in high school and not only on studying for the perfect grades that got me here. I feel rather stuck because I have no motivation for my current degree nor do I know which field would bring our the passion I used to have for studying and, eventually, working. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What are your thoughts on PR, marketing or international relations as majors coming from a background in language and culture studies?

Here's the ranking:
- Nicaragua - very boring intro which just reuses borneo, the shots are not enough to put this higher
- Ghost Island - boring, not too much to say
- David vs. Goliath - slightly better than Ghost Island (makes you hyped at least)
- Edge of Extinction - improvement over the past 2 but still pretty dull song and shots
- Worlds Apart - they tried to mashup china, heroes vs villains and micronesia together but even I can do it better plus the shots are out of sync
- Kaoh Rong - literally Micronesia song with like 2 new sound effects at the start, dull shots (with few exceptions)
- Winners at War - makes you hyped, has ok shots but song is overused and boring
- San Juan del Sur - same thing as Kaoh Rong but I like the Palau bits and most shots
- Cagayan - same thing as Kaoh Rong, but an overall better intro
- Borneo - very boring intro but has some great shots and got points for being the first ever :)
- South Pacific - not a big fan of all the grunting but still it is a well put together intro
- Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers - very messy song but a pretty good intro
- Millennials vs. Gen X - another messy song but a good intro
- One World - boring song (some parts i really like tho) but the shots are pretty good (some great :))
- Redemption Island - boring song (again some parts i like) and well put together
- Cook Islands - mid song, mid shots, mid intro
- Marquesas - mid song, mid shots, mid intro (better sync and shots than cook islands)
- Panama - good song for hype but a very messy intro
- Blood vs. Water - some good shots but the song is a bit underwhelming
- Cambodia - literally philippines with some sound effects but great shots and well put together
- Game Changers - clean great song, with some great shots
- Caramoan - another clean intro, does it's job well
- The Australian Outback - very messy intro, but that's the charm of this intro, great shots, great sync, great upgrade over the first intro
- Tocantins - i always found this intro to have an underwhelming song (one of the worst imo) but the shots are literally some of the best
- Philippines - great intro, great shots, nothing more
- Vanuatu - i think this one is kinda overrated, i'm not a huge fan of the song but it's still pretty good, the shots are great and the overall intro is well put together
- Amazon - great shots, great sync, the song is a bit underwhelming
- Samoa - love the jeff shot lol, everything else is just good
- Micronesia - makes you reaaally hyped and has great shots
- Guatemala - great song, great shots
- 46 - slightly worse than 45 because I'm not a huge fan of the song (i really like it for the same reasons as 45 tho so look at that)
- Gabon - great shots, great song, great sync, just great (like gabon)
- China - same thing as gabon lol but a bit better
- 45 - this is the perfect example of an intro and what it should do, it should hype you up, make you learn the names lol and give you clues as to what happens in this season (if only it had it's own theme and not reused amazon :()
- All-Stars - i guess this is what worlds apart was aiming for.. this is just a perfect mashup of the first 7 seasons theme.. and yes, thailand is there too, it's just very subtle, the shots are great too :)
- Pearl Islands - hypes you up, amazing shots, amazing song, what more can you ask for?
- Africa - I looove this song and I looove the sync in this intro
- Fiji - amazing song, amazing shots, amazing (unlike the season itself :()
- Nicaragua Unapproved - amazing song, better than all before, but the shots aren't enough to put this higher :)
- Thailand - such an amazing song, amazing shots and I just love everything about this intro
- Heroes vs. Villains - literally same as thailand plus all the hype that comes with it
- Palau - I already made a post where I stated this is the best intro, and I stand by it, this intro is just perfect, and the songs if *chef's kiss*
