Ben benieuwd folks. Bedankt alvast voor jullie input 🙏

2024.05.06 20:00 Large_Wang69 Fender sissy bar mounting safe?

I am working on my Honda shadow and I’m currently turning it into a bobber. As of right now I am mounting the fender and sissy bar. My question is will it be okay to have a passenger on the fender with the way that I plan on mounting my fender. I am worried that the welds on the bung to the sissy bar won’t be strong enough to hold a person(welds are just tacked before anyone starts to mention the welds in the photo). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

2024.05.06 08:43 Lazy_Train1919 Bobber seat

Hey all, I was looking to see if anyone has bought the attached seat for their Honda Shadow Ace 1100. It says it fits but worried that there wont be the right mounts for it. I didnt go with high quality parts cuz this bike was free and just wanted to get some cheapish pieces for it. Anyways if anyone has any experience please let me know.

2024.05.05 01:28 Drvyd Struggling to choose a first bike (cruiser)

Hey everybody,
Basically, as the title says, I’m having a difficult time choosing my first bike. I love the style of the Honda rebel 500 or 1100, Harley Davidson iron 883 and Indian scout bobber.
However, I sat down on a rebel and was extremely disappointed in comfort. Was watching some reviews on the Indian scout bobber and the said the same. One of the sales reps advised against the iron 883 in terms of unreliability. So I’m feeling a bit lost.
I would say about 50% of the time would be Street city riding and 50% of the time would be highway cruising 150+ miles one way.
I sat down on a Kawasaki 800 drifter and fell in love with the comfort. It was the most comfortable bike I ever sat on. the suspension, felt like air, suspension floor panel foot rests for myself and my passenger. It was truly just next level comfort that I didn’t even know existed on a motorcycle , with that said I’m not a fan of the styling it the classic Indian style wasn’t my taste. I do like Indian hence the Indian scout bobber, but I don’t particularly like the style of that 800 drifter.
So I defer to you guys and hopes that y’all can help me find some sort of in between in terms of styling and comfort. I’m not kidding when I completely shifted gears from the rebel 500 to that Kawasaki 800 drifter because of how comfortable it would’ve been.
I’m in the $5000 price range so I’m gonna buy used. I really appreciate any input that you guys would have.
Thank you so much and happy riding.

2024.04.26 05:19 trpearcy 07 VLX Bobber build

07 VLX Bobber build
This is my 07 VLX bobber build I’ve been working on this winter. Got her done last weekend, I’ve got about 300 miles on it this week now working out little bugs. Lots of TJBC parts, lots of modified TJBC parts lol, tons of Moto gadget stuff, the most important part being the m.Unit Blue. It controls pretty much everything. Factory Honda ignition module is still there, but it’s only connect to crankshaft position sensor, coils, and the stator. All electrical connectors are soldered and sealed with Splitseal. All LED wiring Cylinder heads machined for 20-25 more cfm per head, custom cams, bigger intake and exhaust valves, heavier valve springs, new valve seats and guides, etc etc. As a reference for how much more air it’s flowing now, factory main was 125, I’m at 188 now, and it’s running lean when I ride below 35ish degrees, so for cold weather riding main jet size will probably be going to a 190-192. 14 tooth front sprocket, 44 tooth rear, DID 525 X-ring chain. EBC Front Pads, stock shoes in the rear. FOBO TPMS Lots of other little small things, but I just figured I’d share! Love the bobber builds I see on here!

2024.04.21 14:58 Uraniu Pareri Keeway X-Light 125 pentru un incepator (Cat A)?

Salut,
Mersi :)

2024.04.20 19:54 ObliviousPie Bobber cruiser for first bike

5’10”, 185lbs, and a 32” inseam. I’ve been riding dirt bikes up to 1200cc all my life, but lately I’ve been getting the itch for more. I’m absolutely in love with bobbesport cruisers, and could use some advice and considerations!
I live in the southwest, riding would eventually be a fair amount of 70mph+ highway, and anticipate enjoying longer weekend cruises in the mountains.
I’ve narrowed down my search to a few different models: - Indian Scout - Kawasaki Vulcan S - Honda Rebel - Honda Shadow Phantom - Yamaha Bolt - HD 883 Iron
From everything I’ve read, ABS sounds like a must have, especially with the shitty drivers in my area. That being said, Im open to other suggestions!

2024.04.18 07:03 CatcherN7 WHY

My father bought this at an auction for 100 bucks cad(75 for u.s) it fired right up... exept for the rusted gas tank which a replacement was so rare it would be around 400 dollars 💸. It is a honda fr500 tiller with a honda g200 engine. It fires up super easy first pull even with old gas but it surges horribly. It stops surging if the choke is pulled half out though. We tried to clean out the jet. We even tried turning the screw adjustment thingy bobber but it didn't make a difference.Any help is appreciated. It doesn't seem to surge "as" bad when under load though. Also, yes, that is a gx air cleaner cleaner on there. It doesn't quite work but it is OK until I 3d print a replacement.

2024.04.15 15:50 AggressiveAction6395 2008 Honda Aero 750

I have a chance to pick up a 2008 Honda Aero 750, color-black for under a $1000 with about 4000 mi. on it. Runs great! I want to flip this so my question is; do I leave it alone and just clean it up and go over it or I could make this into a bobber. Either way, what is a good price to sell it for, is it worth it?? I'm thinking this would be a great starter bike for someone.

2024.04.13 05:23 chivo-69 First motorcycle

Hi everyone! So I'm looking to buy my first bike. I don't have experience but I did just pass my msf course and it was pretty easy. The bike I really want is an Indian scout (1000cc). I've heard conflicting debates about it being my first bike since it has too much power for a beginner. I've also heard many people starting on a 1000cc and said it was not problem. My other option is getting a Honda rebel 500 and then after a summer of riding it selling it and getting the bike I actually want. I like the rebel the way it looks but there's something about that bobber I just love. What do you guys think?

2024.04.05 03:59 Skylifted1989Ranger 2002 Honda Rebel 250 question

So I have a honda 250 rebel I bought off marketplace planing to make it a bobber, however it needs a wiring harness, owner sold it off it which is why I got it for very cheap, is it possible to use a newer model harness on it? It seems impossible to find oem one that isn't stupidly expensive and I've seen after market ones for newer models of rebel.

2024.04.03 11:55 TenguOmen Rebel500 replacement. We’re going to need a bigger bike.

Rebel500 replacement. We’re going to need a bigger bike.
I’ve had a 2020 Rebel 500SE for about six months now. It was my first bike and I absolutely love it. However, I’ve started running into an issue with it that I think it’s only going to get worse with time and I’m starting to consider selling it so I wanted to see if I could get some suggestions to help me narrow down my choices so I can start shopping around and trying a few out to see what will be a good fit.
The problem: The Rebel has been a great bike to learn on but as the weather warms up, my confidence and experience grow, and I start venturing further from home I’m beginning to realize that I am probably too big for my bike. I’m about 6 feet tall and 270lbs and due to the handlebar and peg positions on the Rebel Putting me in a constant upright position with my knees sitting level to or above my hips, I start losing feeling and experiencing a lot of soreness in my legs and lower back if I ride for much more than an hour. I know there are options for different handlebars and kits for moving the pegs and foot controls further forward but, since I haven’t put much wear and tear on the bike I think it would make more sense to get a new one and sell the Rebel in the current condition so I don’t lose much money on it.
Needs/ wants: My usage for it will be about 80% daily commute through town and 20% highway and road trips (I usually have a 1 hour each way trip every Saturday and like I said before, I would like to start taking longer trips for fun) so I really like the maneuverability of the rebel for dealing avoiding potholes and getting through traffic but also it’s size for being able to accommodate a backpack or overnight bag. As far as power goes, the 500 is more than enough in town but I wouldn’t mind a little bit more acceleration potential on the highway. I’m not worried about top speed so much since the speed limits here in Japan are quite a bit lower than places like the states (most highways here are between 50-75mph (80-120kph) but I’d like to be able to get around trucks and slower traffic a little easier.
Aesthetically I love how the Rebel looks. I want to stay away from bigger cruisers, touring, adventure and sport bikes. I really love the looks of most of the classic Triumph’s bikes as well as Royal Enfield’s and some of the similar Japanese bikes like the Kawasaki W800 or Yamaha XSR but with those I do worry about running into similar problems with comfort on long rides. I’m also a fan of cafe racer‘s, scramblers, and bobbers but again, I am worried about running into comfort issues. I also really like the look of the Indian Scout, a few Harleys (Sportster, Nightster, Street750, Low Rider, StreetBob, and Softail), Honda Shadow Phantom (unfortunately not an option since they stopped making them in Japan), and other similar bikes.
I do want to try the Rebel 1100 since it’s a little bigger than the 500 but I think the seat height is about the same so I’m worried about running into problems all over again. I’ve also had some people recommend the Kawasaki Vulcan and while looks aren’t everything, there’s something about the headlight and tank shape that I really don’t care for but I’d be willing to visit a dealership to at least take a look at one in person.
As far as features not mentioned so far, I would like ABS, cruise control would be nice just to give myself a few seconds to shake out my right hand on longer rides, I prefer a LED headlight but it’s not a dealbreaker, I mentioned little more acceleration so stepping up the engine size a little bit to maybe around 750cc wouldn’t be terrible but if I go over 750 I will need to re-take part of the motorcycle road course to expand my license but again, not a dealbreaker, and a tachometer would help until I get better at judging the sound of the engine.
I don’t mind getting a used bike though I would like to stay within the past 5 to 7 years and I would also like to stay under the $10k mark if possible.
Like I said, I’m still in my first year of riding so my knowledge is still pretty basic when it comes to motorcycles so any suggestions would be very appreciated.

2024.03.28 03:41 Bad_change55 Need some input going from a cruiser to a sport bike

I’ve seen quite a few of these posts but didn’t quite find what I was looking for. I ride an Indian Scout Bobber. I started on a Honda Rebel 500 in May (so not even a year of riding experience). I’ve ridden about 1000 miles between the two. I am by no means an experienced rider and have a long ways to go. However I know my capabilities and ride well within my limits and get better with every ride.
My speed demon side is ready to explore the sport bike world. What is a sport bike that I can get that will last me a while? Is a 600 too powerful to start on coming from my experience? I’m mostly afraid of getting too small of a sport bike and wanting something bigger right away. For reference, I had my Honda Rebel for 6 months before deciding to get the Indian. I told myself to wait a year but I just couldn’t.
I seem to be gravitating a lot to the Honda CBR650R but the other options are Yamaha R7 or Aprilia RS 660. I have ridden a Kawasaki Ninja 650 and honestly the power didn’t feel any different from my Honda Rebel but I may have been riding it wrong. I stayed around 4K rpms and after reading some other posts that seems way too low. I felt comfortable on it and didn’t feel like I’d have any issues getting use to the throttle. Regardless, I feel like the Honda CBR650R is more appealing than the ninja because of the inline 4.
Now for riding positions. I only sat on a Ninja 650, ZX6R, and CBR600R. The Ninja 650 was comfortable and something I could get use to but not enough power for my liking. The other two are obviously more uncomfortable but I think I could get use to that style of riding. In fact I’m worried that if I go for a less aggressive riding position I’ll end up waning the opposite as I get more comfortable. Given my liking to the riding position on the ninja I figured the CBR650R would be similar but I can’t tell for sure because I can’t find one anywhere to sit on.
My riding style is casual but I know that once I get more comfortable on the bike I’ll want to pick up on the shenanigans. I don’t ride freeways, mostly twisties and around town. But I want something quick and wouldn’t mind exploring the full power of the bike (safely and legally of course). This is where I start to wonder if I should just get the 600.
Naked bikes are out of the question. I think I’m really torn between the three I mentioned above but I really need some input. I just want something that I can use for years to come and not feel like I outgrew it. I plan to keep my Indian so if I ever feel like a casual ride I can always turn to that. I’d easily get over the aggressive riding position if it means I can get a bike that will offer the longevity and abilities that I’m looking for. Will I feel like I’ll outgrow the CBR650R years from now? Any input helps!

2024.03.27 19:07 ThatSucc Large frame bikes for a tall rider?

Hello,
I want to buy a motorcycle this year when I turn 25. I'm not new to 2 wheels, I've ridden dirt for a few years from 125cc to 500cc. Somewhat experienced on the dirt but new to the street.
I'm 6'7", 285lbs, semi athletic. I don't fit on sport bikes and most nekkids, not interested in dual sports or adventure bikes. I love the look and sound of choppers/bobbers etc.
What cruisers would you recommend someone my size and experience level? I haven't had a chance to go sit on anything since there's still snow on the ground in my part of Snow Mexico.
I've been eyeing Yamaha V-Star 950s, Honda Shadow VT1100s, and Suzuki Boulevard C90s. I'm not scared of the torque, my uncle has a CR500 that he lets me rip around on when I go visit.
Preferably something easy on insurance. Price limit of about $4-5k CAD since it's the first bike I've owned.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate it.

My 1st bobber that I did all the work on(w/, the wife's help). She started out as a 2006 Honda VTX 1300R. I named her Alice because of the song that my Scot friend sings in the bars. Google it. 2024.03.22 15:41 Broken_arrow22 What kind of bike?

I (17M) have been wanting a motorcycle for the longest time, and I’m thinking about an Indian, a Honda, or Harley. I’ve been stuck between a scout bobber, or a rebel, or a sportster, but I’m thinking about buying something bigger than all of those but I’m not sure if I should start small and work my way up, because I see posts saying that if you start small your always gonna want to get a bigger bike, and I’m confused.
