2024.05.14 13:32 MTRCNUK Nifty fifty on a budget?

Thinking about getting started with my prime collection and would like to add a 50mm equivalent. Have a few options I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these:
TTartisan 35mm f1.4 - read a lot of great reviews about this lens and how amazingly it performs for the price. Definitely small and compact. I'm in China so it's even cheaper (about $50 US). At that price it may be worth getting just for messing around with anyway, but obviously it's a manual focus lens and that will be another learning curve.
Viltrox 33mm 1.4 - again, cheaper for me in China, equivalent to $220. Looks like an excellent lens, I'd probably rarely shoot all the way wide open so the colour fringing and softness issues wouldn't matter much to me. Autofocus looks good. It looks a bit of a chonky boy, wondering if anyone finds it cumbersome out on the street?
Or
Fuji XF35mm f2 - not bother with the budget options and just save that money towards something a bit more robust, weather sealed that is constantly vouched for by photographers.

2024.05.14 13:18 DSteves8000 Double prime for drop/meso gear

So I was trying to work on drop/meso gear to maximize hunting efficiency and originally was curious about whether to use glowing or bright cubes and heard people generally prefer bright cubes. So I decided to deep dive and do the math to figure out exactly how much the average cost will be for each piece of equipment with each type of cube.
Assuming you are STARTING at legendary tier potential already, lets do a comparison of glowing (blue) and bright (purple) cubes. Based on this website https://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Potential_System, it lists the chances of multi priming for brights at 10% for the 2nd line and 1% for the 3rd line for glowing cubes, and 20% for line 2 and 5% for line 3 for bright cubes. It also shows that cash cubes have a 1 in 14.3333 (or 3/43) chance of giving you a drop rate line in the legendary prime category. Meso also has the same chance of 3/43, so if you want either that is a 6/43 chance in one line. So for line 1 because it is guaranteed 100% prime you have:
Line 1: 6/43 success, 37/43 fail
Line 2 first has to first roll prime then also roll meso/drop, so with glowing/bright you have:
Line 2 (glowing): 1/10 * 6/43 = 6/430 success, 424/430 fail
Line 2 (bright): 2/10 * 6/43 = 12/430 success, 418/430 fail
Line 3 similarly has to first roll prime then also roll meso/drop, so with glowing/bright you have:
Line 3 (glowing): 1/100 * 6/43 = 6/4300 success, 4294/4300 fail
Line 3 (bright): 5/100 * 6/43 = 30/4300 success, 4270/4300 fail.
So now you have 8 combinations of success/fail across the 3 lines. (note according the to wiki 3L for drop specifically is impossible but since its nearly impossible to get probability-wise anyway and to make the calculations simple I'll ignore that you cant get 3L and suppose you can, i mean you can 7/8ths the result afterwords for that part of the equation if thats the only combination of 3L you cant get should you get a 3L consisting of drop/meso)
Glowing Bright
Line 1/2/3 success = 6/43 * 6/430 * 6/4300 = 216/79507000 6/43 * 12/430 * 30/4300 = 2160/79507000
Line 1/2 success = 6/43 * 6/430 * 4294/4300 = 154584/79507000 6/43 * 12/430 * 4270/4300 = 307440/79507000
Line 1/3 success = ... (note all will have something/43 * something/430 * something/4300 so from this line after i will just only do the numerators for sanity) 6*424*6 = 15264/79507000 6*418*30 = 75240/79507000
Line 2/3 success = 37*6*6 = 1332/79507000 37*12*30 = 13320/79507000
Line 1 only success = 6*424*4294 = 10923936/79507000 6*418*4270 = 10709160/79507000
Line 2 only success = 37*6*4294 = 953268/79507000 37*12*4270 = 1895880/79507000
Line 3 only success = 37*424*6 = 94128/79507000 37*418*30 = 463980/79507000
No Lines of success = 37*424*4294 = 67364272/79507000 37*418*4270 = 66039820/79507000
So in summary: (Glowing Bright)
3L = 216/79507000 2160/79507000
2L = 171180/79507000 396000/79507000
1L = 11971332/79507000 13069020/79507000
0L = 67364272/79507000 66039820/79507000
or better yet:
2L/3L = 171396/79507000 398160/79507000
0L/1L = 79335604/79507000 79108840/79507000
per each roll. Now finally we account for how many trials it will take until one success. When something of interest happens in a row like flipping a coin and it landing heads 3 times in a row, we do 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2. The same concept applies for failing to get the result we want over and over again. Lets try to compute the median cubes (the amount of cubes necessary to be in the 50%th percentile of luck of all people will typically use until success).
For glowing cubes we are trying to solve: (79335604/79507000)^x = 0.5, where x is the number of cubes it will take to be in the 50th percentile. To solve for b in a^b = c, you can rearrange the equation as such: ln(c)/ln(a) = b. So ln(0.5)/ln(79335604/79507000) = 321.19 -> 322. After 322 glowing cubes you are less lucky than the majority of players.
Similarly for bright cubes, ln(0.5)/ln(79108840/79507000) = 138.06 -> 139 cubes. Since packs of 10 are 120m or 220m for glowing or bright cubes respectively, the average would be 12m or 22m per cube.
12m * 322 = 3.864 billion meso for glowing cubes and
22m * 139 = 3.058 billion meso for bright cubes. This makes bright cubes the more cost efficient choice for double priming.
The average cost now rather than the median for each can be calculated by doing (1 / p) * cost, where p = 171396/79507000 for glowing and 398160/79507000 for bright cubes. (Just swap the numerators and denominators when doing 1/(a/b) to get (b/a). So 79507000/171396 = 463.87 -> 464 (glowing cubes) = 79507000/398160 = 199.68 -> 200 (bright cubes). Which costs 12m * 464 = 5.568 billion meso for glowing cubes and 22m * 200 = 4.4 billion meso for bright cubes.
TLDR:
Glowing cubes on median cost 3.864B meso and an average cost of 5.568B meso for a 2L/3L.
Bright cubes on median cost 3.058B meso and an average cost of 4.4B meso for a 2L/3L. <- More cost efficient.

This Bill was submitted by The Right Honourable Dame Youma, The Baroness of Motherwell, LT MBE PC MP as a Private Member's Bill.
Speaker,
Over the past few years, our nation has witnessed a wave of upheaval across the world, as nations returned to violent means as a method of the annexation of territory and people, a principle the world had thought was dismantled after the Second World War. As I said nearly two years ago, I shall repeat as I wish to cast reflection upon our role as a country across the global community with these matters in mind. Should we wallow in isolation, or should we stand for what is right?
When I stood at the Despatch box as Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary, or any other role, I spoke of the need for active foreign policy. Speaker, these are not just words or slogans, active foreign policy requires the United Kingdom to recognise its own duty as the mother of parliaments to defend, protect, and promote democracy and human rights internationally. It is part of this task that I present the Protected Sovereign States and Territories Bill to the parliament again, reflective of what we have witnessed over the past few years, to bring the needed legislative changes required to ensure an active foreign policy is at the forefront of the mind of the government of the day.
The Protected Sovereign States and Territories Bill is fundamentally about ensuring the recognition of vulnerable nations, whose existence is at risk of extinction due to potential conflict or collapse, continues regardless of the government of the day. This legislation would prevent a government from unilaterally revoking the recognition of the nations within Schedule 1, and the ownership of the territories within Schedule 2. As an example, I will highlight Kosovo as a nation that should be uplifted to protected independence recognition status. Kosovo is a relatively new nation, whose Declaration of Independence was recognised by our nation on the 18th of February 2008. Kosovo’s very existence as a sovereign nation is under threat each day, as an active campaign continues attempting to undermine its recognition and sovereignty. This legislation ensures that parliament’s will to stand with the people of Kosovo in recognising their independence is protected, away from the unilateral statement of a rogue foreign minister.
To alleviate any concerns, I will address some matters raised within previous debates on this topic. This legislation will not prevent the future recognition of new nations, his Majesty’s government retains this power to ensure our nation may quickly respond to fast moving scenarios. This legislation will not require conflict as an automatic means of resolution, all that is required by this legislation is for something to be done, diplomatic support covers this sufficiently. This legislation will not cripple the Government's ability to conduct foreign affairs and policy, the Minister retains a large variety of powers even on matters subject to this act to ensure the flexibility of our nation's foreign policy is preserved, whilst protecting the recognition of vulnerable nations.
With all of this in mind, and what we have witnessed over the past few years in our hearts, I urge all members to see the good that this legislation will bring, to stand with these vulnerable nations, and vote yes to this legislation.
This reading shall end on the 17th May at 10PM

2024.05.14 12:29 espmic86 Where to buy Phanteks Glacier One 240 T30 Gen2 V2

240mm version of the famous T30 with 8gen Pump, second version. Could found somewhere only standard v1.
Does anyone know where you can buy exactly this model? Couldn't find anything in Europe.
Also, do you have a good review around?
Also, how does It compare tu Asus ROG Ryuo III 240 ARGB?
I must choose the best performer 240mm AIO for a Lian Li DANCASE A4 H20 X4 and so far i'm oriented for a DeepCool LS520 SE 240mm.
Also, my choices go for the following AIOs but i cant decide, everyone talks good, every review says the reviewed One Is the best, but every test concludes at 95°C with every CPU under 100% load so i can't really figure out if there Is actually a Better 240mm AIO.
DeepCool LS520 SE 240mm Phanteks Glacier One 240 T30 Gen2 V2 Lian Li Galahad II Trinity Performance 240 AIO NZXT Kraken X53 Asus ROG Ryuo III 240 ARGB Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 ATMOS Enermax Liqmax III ARGB 240mm
The only two with new gen 8 Pump are T30 and Ryuo III.
All the others have positive review.
Still didnt find a comparative with i9-14900KS overclocked which Is the most demanding CPU in Watts and the hottest One, pushed in Extreme voltage and overclock and under 100% LOAD for hours with R24 and prime, let's Say a real infernal test in which you can tell which cooler makes the difference.
I've only seen medium range CPU like 13700k at default running 10 minutes of R24 and reaching High 95°C everytime.
Looks like there Is no cooling at all, no Better cooler or overclock master.
I was doing Better with air cooler noctua d15s chromax black.

2024.05.14 11:08 aarvyedutech Which is the best course for IT?

choosing the Right IT Course: A Guide to Finding Your Path in the Tech World
Best IT Courses
In the present era of digital advancement, the need for proficient IT experts has increased significantly. The IT field is booming with opportunities, no matter if you've just passed out of college. Yet, navigation through the formation of courses and specialisations can be daunting. This blog aims to look into some top-notch IT courses and offer insights on selecting the most suitable one for your aspirations.
  1. Assess your interests and goals.
Goal
Hold on! Don't dive headfirst into IT courses just yet. Take some time to check on your interests and career goals. Do you love building programs? Are you fascinated by online security? Maybe data analysis is your jam, or keeping networks running smoothly gets you going? The right course is out there, but it all starts with understanding your interests and career aspirations.
  1. Research Different Specialisations:
Research Different Specialisations:
IT is a giant toolbox with many specialised tools inside.
Here are a few of the most popular ones:
Software Development: If you are a coding expert who loves coding and building new things, this course is for you! Learn languages like Java, Python, or C++ and get your hands dirty creating applications and software systems.
Cybersecurity: With cybercrime on the rise, protectors are in high demand! Cybersecurity courses teach you ethical hacking, how to secure networks, and spot threats, making you a hero against cyberattacks.
Data Science: Data is king these days, and data scientists are the key to unlocking its secrets. Learn about statistics, machine learning, and data visualisation to become a master in this booming field.
Network Administration: The behind-the-scenes heroes of IT! Network administrators keep an organisation's network running smoothly and securely. Learn about routing, switching, and network security to become a network expert.
  1. Consider Industry Demand:
Industry Demand
Don't just follow your heart, follow the job market too! Research what IT skills are in high demand right now. By selecting a course packed with skills companies crave, you'll stand out from the crowd and snag your dream job in no time.
  1. Evaluate Course Content and Curriculum:
Content and Curriculam
After creating a shortlist of courses aligned with your IT aspirations, dive deeper to assess their curriculum. The strongest program will provide a thorough exploration of the subject, not just a surface-level introduction. Hands-on experience is vital in IT, so prioritise courses with opportunities to apply your knowledge through practical exercises. Real-world projects or internships are like gold – they'll give you practical experience and make you a much stronger candidate in the eyes of potential employers. Beyond the course content, consider practicalities like duration – how much time can you realistically dedicate to your studies? Think about the learning format – classroom setting for structure or online for flexibility? Finally, some employers value accreditation from a reputable institution, so factor that in as well. By meticulously evaluating these elements, you'll be well-equipped to select the ideal IT course that launches you toward your desired career path.
  1. Seek Feedback and Recommendations:
Feedback and Recommendations
After shortlisting a few IT courses, don't stop there! Connect with IT professionals or graduates of those programs to get the inside scoop. Their real-world experiences can provide valuable insights you won't find in a brochure. Talk to them about the quality of the course, how relevant the curriculum is to actual IT jobs, and what the overall learning experience was like. This firsthand information can be invaluable for making the best choice for your IT education.
  1. Consider Certification and Credentials:
Certification and Credentials
Many IT courses offer certification upon completion, which can enhance your credentials and credibility in the job market. Research industry-recognized certifications relevant to your chosen field and consider courses that provide preparation for these exams. Holding certifications demonstrates your expertise and commitment to continuous learning, making you a more attractive candidate to employers.
  1. Evaluate Cost and Return on Investment (ROI):
ROI
Powering up your IT skills with courses is a great career move, but treat it like an investment. Before you enrol, do some budgeting. Factor in the tuition costs, any hidden extras like textbooks or software, and see if there's financial aid or scholarships to ease the financial blow. It's also smart to research the average salary in your chosen IT field. This will help you estimate the Return on Investment (ROI) and figure out how long it might take to see your education pay off financially.
  1. Stay Updated on Industry Trends:
The IT world is like a fast-moving river, with new tech and trends constantly popping up. Even after you choose a course and land your IT job, keep learning! Stay on top of industry developments, hot new advancements, and any emerging technologies relevant to your specialisation. There are tons of resources available, from ongoing learning programs to online courses. Keep feeding your IT knowledge to stay ahead of the curve and future-proof your career.
Best IT institute in Gurgaon
Ultimately, choosing the right IT degree is a crucial initial stride toward forging a rewarding career in computing. By carefully assessing your ambitions, exploring diverse specialisations, considering industry needs, reviewing course content, seeking advice, pondering certification, evaluating expenses, and staying attuned to industry shifts, you can make an informed decision tailored to your aspirations. Remember, the optimal course is the one that not only equips you with practical skills but also motivates you to pursue your professional goals fervently.

2024.05.14 09:02 Eliaxie Advice on used system

Hello, I am looking into buying my first audio setup, and I've stumbled upon the multitude of possibilities that probably everyone with a tight budget have encountered. I am based in Switzerland so keep in mind that I have dramatically less choices. I started with thinking about a 5.1 system with a budget of around 5-600 dollars, the only thing I could find in this budget was this: https://www.reddit.com/BudgetAudiophile/comments/1cj8z4o/advice_on_used_51_system/ Then I considered the fact that probably in my price range I would've been better off buying a good AVR (I found this one used for 300 Denon AVR X4100W - 125W with 2 channel active at 0.05% THD) and a 2.1 system with 2 "good" LR instead of a full 5.1 with all around crappy sound. Then also considering the fact that I am in an apartment, I was actually considering also a 2.0 setup (how far we've come from the 5.1 dream) because reading in various subreddits a subwoofer in an apartment is not very advisable. So, now that I gave you a bit of context, what I am undecided about is: 1. Does it make sense to buy that used AVR (https://www.crutchfield.com/S-T10nAIKM5iC/p_033AVX4100/Denon-AVR-X4100W-IN-Command-2014-Model.html) instead of a new, less powerful one (https://www.crutchfield.com/S-1HfCoBWsGlP/p_580TXSR393/Onkyo-TX-SR393-2019-model.html)? 2. I have found both a Yamaha NS 555 for 200 and a NS 777 for 300, both in good conditions as far as I can see and hear, do you think it makes sense to buy the 777 and no sub or is it better to buy the 555 with a sub while keeping it at a very low power? 3. The guy actually owns a pair of Focal Chorus 826v, that could sell me for 700 (maybe I can get it for 800/850 with the Denon AVR), do you think I would be able to even hear the difference from these two setups and is it worth the 200/250 bump-up? 4. Lastly, does it even make sense to buy a new AVR when instead I could buy an hdmi splitter and put it in front of the AVR (allowing me to not care about hdmi 2.0 and therefore buying it a lot cheaper), do they add artifacts to the audio/video or are they a plausible alternative?
Sorry for the long list of questions, I've noticed that the learning curve is very steep and unfortunately I don't have enough money to waste on trying to get this knowledge myself

2024.05.14 08:32 sharpeguy I cleared the underworld w 32 Fear, here's how

Preamble

This is going to be a bit of a lengthy post so bear with me. I am going to get into boons, arcana cards, vows, and weapon/equipment choice in this post and how I eventually was able to clear the underworld at 32 fear. All of this is in context of the build I am going for and the weapon I am using. Different vows, cards, etc. may be better for different weapons and playstyles. This is not a definitive guide and I have only beaten it once so far and by sticking to one weapon during my attempts. I enjoy writing about stuff like this and hope that this can possibly help y'all.
I finished the surface on my 23rd run and then the underworld on the next for reference. I just now cleared the underworld at 32 fear on my 143rd run. Of those between were me completing testaments, trying out weapons/aspects, and chaos trials. I attempted 32 fear a total of 36 times before I finally got it. Total in game time according to steam is 74 hours lol (I had a four day weekend and my gf is out of town so this is pretty much all I did).
Proof of run

Weapon/Aspect: Momus Staff

Firstly you want to get enough resources to unlock and fully upgrade the aspect, I think 10 total nightmare? Giving your special +30 power. I wouldn't bother 32 fear until you can get it all the way up.
For a few runs while I was using the skull with Melinoe/Persephone aspect, as I was trying to complete the 20 fear testament simultaneously. Stopped since I decided I wasn't really comfortable with the skull and switched to Melinoe's staff. Did that for a while and then saw this video and decided to give the Momus staff a shot, where i then won in 7 runs after switching. It also probably helped that I changed around some vows around this time, more on that later.
Watch the video for a breakdown but essentially you want Poseidon special + legendary boon, and ideally the double moonshot hammer that gives your special 2 more projectiles that seek. He switches his binds for left and right click but I did not, up to you.
Took a minute to get used to but essentially I just spammed speciall the entire time in fights, kiting enemies when necessary. I used my cast defensively to root enemies and create space mostly until I got a 3 specific boons, more later. Did not really use omegas at all, as I turned off the magick regen card and turned on the vow that removes your magick at the start of each encounter. If I did gain some magick, I would only use it for the omega special to regain some health when it was safe in fights (5 healing if you are near it when it explodes).

Arcana Cards

This is what I used but some may find other ones more to their liking. I will explain my choices below. Be sure to upgrade these to their max potential. The descriptions that I give are referencing their maxed out bonus. I almost exclusively used my charon cards (obol points) to order 8 moon dust in the camp to upgrade faster. Also having 30 grasp is required so be sure to get that maxed out too. Just playing the game should get you there. Gathering bones and completing minor prophecies are helpful in getting more moondust and nightmare faster to upgrade your cards and aspects. I have starred the one's that I think are almost absolutely necessary.
Arcana card choices
I. The Sorceress: Not using omega moves with this build for the most part, mainly chosen to just fill out the top row to awaken the divinity card.
II. The Wayward Son: +2 health (with 50% healing reduction from a vow) is definitely helpful, some much needed passive healing.
* III. The Huntress: +50% attack and special damage when you have less than 100 magick is probably a must have. Especially in my vows set up where I pretty much never have any magick.
IV. Death: Also to just fill out the row for divinity, not really using omega moves.
* V. The Messenger: +10% dodge chance is a lifesaver.
VII. The Titan: More health (and magick) is helpful for the early game before you get any centaur hearts.
* X. The Lovers: 0 damage from bosses for 3 hits is absolutely nuts, this was a whole keepsake in the last game. Attacks that miss you from dodge or daze from Apollo don't count towards a hit as well.
XI. The Swift Runner: Just generally helpful for kiting and running around, especially with increased enemy movement from a vow.
* XII. Eternity: 3 death defiances are absolutely essential probably in any playthrough unless you are a god at not getting hit ever.
* XVIII. Origination: Enemies with 2 curses take +50% damage is fantastic and helps to absolutely shred through them
* XXII. The Champions: 3 chances to reroll boon choices among other things is pretty much a must for run consistency. I would mainly use it on my first Poseidon boon to get the special. Would also use again to try and get slip or blast damage one or legendary from him, also on Hestia to get her cast or the one that allows you to aim the cast (both possible prerequisites for their duo boon, more later).
XXIII. The Artificer: I slept on this one big time at first until I saw someone using it in a 32 heat run on youtube. Change a minor reward into a major one 3 times is fantastic and really helps in the early game. I would use all 3 in the first region for a chance to get a pom, heart, gold, boon, or hammer. I would almost put this one as a must but you do you.
XXIV. Divinity: 20% extra chance to get an epic boon. Activated by the full top row, its just nice to have to possibly get some more benefits out of boons.
Alternatives: Like I mentioned before I only activate I and IV mainly to activate divinity. You could lose them and go for IX Night (automatic charging for your hex) or XVI The Fates (+3 rolls to change location rewards). I feel like hexes are not all that impactiful personally (except for a couple). Also changing location rewards is a toss up, meh. You could also lose XI extra sprint speed to to open up 5 grasp and go for XV Stength (take and deal more damage at low hp), XVII The Boatman (get more gold at the start of the run), or XIX Excellence (higher % for rare boons offered), which all have valid arguments. In hindsight I think giving up those 3 for Stregnth or Excellence might be worth it, might try in future runs.

Oath of the Unseen Vows

Throughout my runs I experimented a lot with the various choices and found that the ones I chose are best for how I play. It is really up to you, this is just how I did it. I mostly messed around with damage taken, enemy spawns, and health, the rest pretty much stayed constant. I originally was using the 9 minute time limit per region for a majority of my runs until I switched aspects (and the 7 minute several times). I eventually decided that I was playing too aggresively to beat the clock and would lose most of, if not all my death defiances by Tartarus/Chronos, or earlier. I did still have decent amount of time to beat Chronos if I got there with the time limit, just the health and death defiance loss was too much. Here is what I went with and explanations for each, I starred the ones I think should be kept on and are relatively easy to deal with.
Vows Used
Vow of Blood (+3): Just don't get hit duh. No but seriously +60% damage to you hurts, a lot. I really wish I did not have to use this, but the alternatives I think are worse. As you play more you'll get better and learn attack patterns and how to kite effectively.
Vow of Dominance (+3): Enemies now have +30% health which is rough, but with no time limit, just take your time in killing enemies off safely.
Vow of Rebuke (+2): Enemies have 2 barriers before they can take damage, not too bad. Makes clearing enemies a bit harder, but with the poseidon boon, you apply two instances of damage with each hit. So only one special shot with the boon will clear the barrier, also the wave the shoots out of them helps to clear barriers of the other enemies.
Vow of Fury (+3): Enemies are 20% faster (and their projectiles too?! I'm pretty sure this is the case, I haven't played without it in a while so I'm not exactly sure). This one took some getting used to, not much I can say except just keep trying. Another +3 makes them 40% faster which I do not recommend. The screaming shades, wolves and their heads, thorny spinny guys in Oceanus, rats, and Chronos are all insane with 40% extra speed.
Vow of Suffering (+2): +100% for the first hit you take in each encounter. Same as Vow of Blood, its rough, wish I could go without it as well.
Vow of Commotion (+3): 60% more foes in encounters (does not affect the boss summons). Had this one a tier or two lower, or not at all, when I was experimenting with the time limit. The AOE from Poseidon definely helps here, just take your time to clear out enemies. It can get pretty bad in tartarus with the bags and skulls everywhere though so just be careful.
Vow of Haunting (+2): Enemies have 50% of spawning a revenant when killed which if left alone long enough will respawn them. These are annoying as hell but not terrible once you get used to it. On death a flaming green skull thing launches out of them and travels a bit of a distance, just run ovecollect them and they are negated, don't need to damage or whatever. Can sometimes be hard to spot if behind a wall or obstacle. Overall not that bad, its not the end of the world if you let them respawn. Definitely though go for the ones that would respawn an enemy that are hard/annoying to deal with ASAP e.g. rat spawning satyrs, wolves, any projectile shooting enemy. Sometimes I feel like rats almost always spawn a revenant which is annoying. I honestly think they should also rework this so that if an enemy respawns it can't have another revenant spawn.
* Vow of Wandering (+3): 25% chance for enemies to be from the next region. Really not that bad at all, just have to deal with some more annoying enemies with larger health pools.
Vow of Scars (+2): Healing is only 50% effective is not that bad. You only get +2 healing passively from the card now and a lot less from fountains and such, goes hand in hand with blood and suffering, you'll get better at not getting hit.
* Vow of Destitution (+2): Charon's shop (and wells) are 80% more expensive. You'll miss out some boons, healing, poms, hearts, etc. but its not awful, you will still gain a good amount of gold to usually buy a boon or something at the end of each region except Oceanus I found. Also with Poseidon in your god pool, he has some boons that can help with getting more gold like minor find doubling up, increased value of minor finds, and sunken treasure.
* Vow of Panic (+1): No more magick at the start of each encounter. In this build you don't really need it anyways so this is a freebie point of fear pretty much. Also if you decide to have the card that regens magick on it pretty much negates it after a little while.
** Vow of Forsaking (+2): This one might actually be beneficial. The two boon options you don't pick will not longer show up in your run. This is why I have the boon rerolls on, so I can guarantee to get Poseidon special on my first boon. Otherwise this helps to increase your chances of getting legendary or duo boons (if you have the prerequisites) since the boon choice pool is lowered after each pick. It is unfortunate though if both prereqs for poseidons legendary are in the given choices and you are out of rolls though.
* Vow of Arrogance (+4): Prime 10 magick for each level of rarity above common that you pick. Again, not using magick hardly in this build so doesn't really matter. Also in lower fear runs I have used this, it does not really matter all that much even when you are using omega moves.
Unused:

Boons/Hammers/Keepsakes/Familiar

Poseidon: Equip his keepsake at start, reroll for wave flourish (special) if needed and rarify. Afterwards look for slippery slope then crashing wave ideally. This primes you to get his legendary which gives +150% damage from splash effects to bosses. Other great ones are double up which is nuts that it can possibly double your hearts, gold, and poms you pick up. Ocean's bounty is nice to increase gold. Water fitness is pretty good if you can get 4 water elements to give you +100 health. Flood control is also nice for damage reduction.
Hestia: Equip her keepsake after Erebus if you did not already get her in your god pool (you get up to 4 gods like in Hades I). Ideally you want her both cast and glowing coal, which lets you aim your cast. Either of which in combination with slippery slope gets you access to Poseidon/Hestia duo boon scalding vapor whcih does insane damage over time. I'm not sure if you should prioritize glowing coal over her cast honestly, both have their upsides alone, but you do want both hopefully. With glowing coal so you can aim your cast since you will be fighting from a distance mostly (not always but in how I played this build I did for the most part), which can activate the steam cloud on foes with slip. Hestia cast is less safe and you need to be closer to enemies to get the steam cloud to activate, but it does more damage, continously applying steam on the enemy. Other boons like soot sprint are nice, almost like Athena's dash in the first game. Slow cooker infusion is alright but you may not get many fire elements to increase your base damage power. Flammable coating is great and helps to melt through armored enemies. Burnt offering is pretty nice to increase you health (and magick) pool if you happen to get offered to sacrifice a useless boon.
Other helpful god boons: Pretty much anything that can help apply another curse to enemies. Demeter and Aphrodite are probably the best since theirs are easy to apply without much effort like frigid sprint, gale force, glamour gain, and passion dash. The other gods require secondary boons to get a curse or your attack/special needs to give the curse, you won't really ever be using your attack and your special is reserved for Poseidon.
Hammers: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like I remember in Hades I if you chose a specific hammer you would be locked out of other hammer choices that affect the benefitting move. If the same applies to this game avoid picking a hammer that affects your special for your first hammer if it is not double moonshot, and hope for it on your second hammer. The DPS from Momus staff is still great with spamming special without it (I won my run without it). You could also go ahead and pick up rapid moonfire or shimmering moonshot on your first one because they are pretty powerful too, and I also may be wrong about the hammer exclusion thing.
Keepsakes: So of course Poseidon first, always. Hestia second if you don't get her in your god pool Erebus. Up to you and what you like for Oceanus, maybe choose Demeter or Aphrodite. If I got Hestia I would generally use any one of the following:
Once in the mourning fields I would typically go with the Lion Fang, or possibly one of the above maybe. Lastly in Tartarus I would either use Knuckle Bones (if I felt comfortable with my health and death defiances), Luckier Tooth, or Evil Eye (if Chronos killed me last).
Sidenote: Is Echo bugged? Or is my game just messed up? I was never given the chance to give her a gift so I've never gotten her keepsake :(
Familiar Toula: Sorry Frinos, but Toula is just superior. She gives you an extra death defiance which when upgraded fully gives you 40 health on death. Also upgrading her attack lets her attack more times before she takes a little catnap (cute). She does 99 damage with each strike which is not insignificant. You don't need to go out of your way to sprint over her whenever she is resting to activate her, if she happens to be where you are running it is just some nice extra little bit of DPS. She has actually killed a few bosses for me in my runs lol.

The Winning Run

So all of this information is from finally beating 32 fear. I followed this strategy in my head for the most part. I ended up not getting double moonshot, but did get rapid moonfire. Poseidon offered me both prereqs for his legendary in the same choice without any rerolls left unfortunately, chose slip of course. I did get the duo boon and both of Hestia's cast boons which was nuts. Also I got rare crop right after I got Poseidon's special so it became heroic by the end. I also got offered to sacrifice rare crop after it became heroic by hestia to get more health, and I was then offered it again at epic rarity which increased 3 other of my boons which happened to hit Hestia's cast boons. I did not get any other way to apply another curse other than slip unfortunately as well. Started Tartarus with 2 or 3 death defiances + luckier tooth and beat Chronos on my last life. Overall though, not a perfect run but it still worked. Would have been even more nuts if I got the right hammer, legendary, and another curse effect

TL;DR

Momus Staff good. More special projectiles hammer + Poseidon special + legendary + Poseidon/Hestia duo = nuts DPS. Arcana cards important, vows are tough.

2024.05.14 07:23 Ok-Conversation5604 Height difference after spinal fusion?

I’m going to have surgery in a few months, and I’ve just been wondering how significant of a height difference you noticed before and after surgery? I have a 70 degree C curve if that helps at all. I am pretty short so I am eager to grow tall 🤣

2024.05.14 07:18 mickey_7121 Connecting my laptop to a monitor and a soundbar

I have a Lenovo Slim Pro 9i 16 laptop, and I recently bought LG SoundBar SP9YA and LG UltraWide Monitor Curved 34WR55QC.
My laptop only has one hdmi port with a usb-c, two usb-a and a heaphone jack.
The soudbar has one hdmi in, a hdmi arc out, a optical in and a headphone jack.
The monitor has a displayport in, two hdmi ports (not sure in or out), two usb-a, a usb-c and a headphone jack.
I also recently bought a docking station that has a hdmi and a displayport, that connects to the laptop via usb-c.
The problem is, I can't seem to connect all three of my devices together at a same time. My laptop doesn't have displayport so I connect it through the dock but whenever I try to connect soundbar with hdmi (either on dock or directly into my laptop) the display on monitor is cutoff. I tried all the variations on soundbar (hdmi in & out) connecting with laptop or monitor but it just doesn't work.
So how can I connect all three of my devices and have them work in one go. As I specially bought the dock a displayport to displayport and a hdmi to hdmi cables just to connect all of my devices and it still doesn't work.
P.S.: I don't like to connect my soundbar via bluetooth as it connects to my laptop just as a headphone and not proper home theatre so I can't benefit from its true potential, also I don't have aux so I didn't try connecting it with aux.

2024.05.14 07:02 maiyamay Just some thoughts on the game 2-3 hrs in...

A bit of background, I have finished playing all main pokemon games (except spin offs and legends of arceus-not yet) ever since year 2000 except SwSh (currently playing) and S/V (which I will be playing after). At the same time I am not a competitive player.
My opinion might change after i play deeper into the game, but what I can say so far is i am enjoying the game very much, collecting pokemon and exploring. I think so far its a decent game for what it is, i didnt put any expectations since pokemon's game direction has been unclear for quite a while since gen 6 tbh (but alola games were amazing though) and i am not gonna act like the franchise is all time high. I just find it ridiculous to compare the games overall since the experience differs a lot and pokemon franchise has been going on for such a long time that so much changes has happened due to technology, etc. It is hard to be objective about it. Each pokemon game offers something unique, whether its collectively hated or loved. And i LOVE SwSh's artstyle, and it appalled me a lot of ppl finding it ugly.
Maybe its my age, who knows but i find myself thinking that pokemon games are more like a relaxing thing for me (gonna be 30 soon lol). I have a feeling that most people complaining are serious players that are into the competitive scene. Some complained that the difficulty is too easy, what i do is catch a lot of pokemon and level them up to evolve (for pokedex fill ) as well since u can pretty much access the box anywhere (i rly love this change, and less grind needed).
Talking abt the level gap, firered (and g/s/c) to some extent) has this notorious level curve (trust me, idm that) but sometimes the gap can go as far as 20 levels, which requires me to grind at least 10 levels to make it possible for me to progress. Its fair to complain abt the easy difficulty of the newer games, but i nvr heard anyone complaining abt the overly-difficult level curve of the older games. I think gen 4 and 5 (that i can remember atm) did a good job of this, the levels are still higher but its nowhere 20 lvls gap lol. And i can still remember grinding using the vs seeker, i was too underleveled for the indigo league and it was tedious. This is just my personal experience, maybe i didnt play the game right i guess.
I am currently at the dojo area of isle of armor dlc and still exploring to find pokemon, and camping all that stuff. Its fun finding variety of pokemon that i found myself invested to form my definite team. Thats all so far and thx for reading lol.
