The Feynman Lectures on Physics is perhaps the most popular physics book ever written. It has been printed in a dozen languages. 2024.05.14 21:36 weirdballz STUDY TIPS FOR ATI: How I achieved a level 3 on my ATI exams

I would like to share some tips that helped me do well on all my ATI exams! For reference, I got a level 3 on all but one ATI exam! Fundamentals was my first ATI exam ever which I got a 2, and it helped shaped the way I continued to study for ATI. I hope this helps anyone who is either struggling with ATI or wanting to increase their scores.
How I utilized ATI textbooks:
Practice Exams/Dynamic Quizzes
Extra Tips for ATI
Outside resources
Test taking prioritization strategies you have to understand:
Other test taking strategies
It’s true that ATI will test you on things from other courses (some you haven’t taken yet), but the majority of it will be over the course you are studying for. The goal isn’t to get every question correctly. The goal is to use prior knowledge and test taking strategies to help you at least narrow down to 2 answer choices, and hopefully choose the right one. After doing a bunch of questions, you start to see patterns and understand how ATI wants you to choose the answer.
I know this is a lot, but I just wanted to be as thorough as possible. Please let me know if you have any questions! I am happy to help! 😊

2024.05.14 21:18 ConsciousRepeat3314 i’m so stupid

I’m catching heart wrenching feelings for a guy I met online. idk even know how he looks like for all ik he could be a catfish. So i’m in this physics groupchat and i asked for teachers online and he messaged me and gave me his gmail and password to access his google drive that had like a really expensive teaches lectures. We have been talking ever since that day. He has never said anything remotely weird to me and is always super nice. He’s so nice and funny. Like i don’t even know what he looks like and i genuinely consider him a friend (more than a friend). We have talked about relationships and he said ‘i never want to get married and marriage is a scam’ but it wasn’t in like ‘oh i hate women’ way, it was like “my parents marriage has tramautised me for life”. He also said that he would never ever be in relationship but he has kind of like flirted on text. God how stupid am i. Like who likes someone that is truly against relationships. Most of all who likes someone they have never even seen???????? I HATE MYSELF. why’s my brain doing this to me? I look forward to him texting me after my exams end. I genuinely hate my brain for this.

2024.05.14 21:10 DramaticMelodramy Summer Math 400 Level Course Advice Needed

Hey everybody,
I'm thinking of signing up for a Summer 2 class for this summer. But, I'll be in Taiwan to visit my grandparents till early August. As Summer 2 starts July 8th, they'll be ~3 week overlap where I'm in a completely different time zone overseas. This would be my first summer class I've ever taken so, I wanted to ask:
What are some of the least time intensive 400 level math/stat/amsc courses for the summer that you guys found to be pretty flexible and accommodating with its lectures/exams?
Thanks!

2024.05.14 20:50 Simplyserenityy I am done

My downfall according to my father began in the last two years. Our relationship had always been rocky but it was fine. In front of my family friends we always look so close and he is so proud of me...but I know he hates me for not being more, particularly these last two years. I am gonna be honest...my downfall really began in high school, but I think he doesn't want to say it. I put on the hijab in junior years of high school and he was okay with it, but said it was not something he sees as necessary. But because all the uncles and aunties praised me like oh she is so pretty but she covered up and started using me as an example in the the group.. like it was so embarrassing. ESPECIALLY the uncles like one of them turned to his wife and started lecturing her on the spot like you don't wear it and she is so much better...and then they all praised my dad (like this was his accomplishment) and therefore he was pound of it. Like yeah my daughter covers up....
But hijab was just the first thing...I started pushing way from all of it...the journey of med school and all. I never cared for it. When college started, I started as a pre-med student but I KNEW I wasn't living up to the potential of a future doctor. I didn't do any extracurriculars or volunteering (part of it was COVID during the first two years) but the last two...I should have done more. But I was enjoying living the muslimah life to much. I went class yes, but nothing else just straight home. I don't know I felt like I was living in a daze...I went to class, then home, study, sleep, pray, class, then home, study sleep, pray.... And my parents loved that. I know It now. They liked this version of me...this girl was the perfect girl...she does well in school but also looks and acts like a proper traditional girl, never talking to guys, never social media, like I didn't even know about reddit until last year and made my first post actually 4 months ago something about being lost after postundergraduate...funny thinking 4 months back I thought everything was fixed.
I gave into my impulses...I wanted to be married and live that period drama hallmark simple life *we have it hard, but through faith and God we will make it through* life. I also think I highly romanticized the idea of marriage and the saving yourself for him maybe to other people too far. In the last two years, I went into some weird vortex or something. I just wanted to be the girl who lived for him I think 🤦🏻‍♀️....its silly and cringe and I know that now. But it made sense then okay, like in order for you to get into really good research labs, you have to work with others but I just couldn't...I wanted to never speak to another guy unless absolutely necessary life or death situation. Which again I understand is silly....🙄 no need to rub it in like everyone else I know. So I kind of did something really bad... I knew what I was doing even though later I feigned innocence. I switched my major from a science major to art...[and if my brother sees this.....it is still a subject you could get into med school with just no longer that "it" popular major for premed for the last TimE AND I WILL DELETE THIS LATER SO STOP AND LET ME GET MY ANGER OUT AS I HAVE NO OTHER WAY OF GETTING IT LITERALLY STUCK IN THIS ROOM ALL THE TIME]
Anyway, in the last 7 months the number of fights here was record breaking. I finally stated I didn't want to do anymore schooling. At one point I told my mom how I don't really care for a career and wanted to be married to the love of my life and I accidentally showed her or I think I told her after watching a movie (I cannot remember there has been too much going on) my Pinterest board of things I want to do as a wife...stuff like baking for him, and making his lunch...and really embarrassing things. ANYWHO.. she told my dad and well ensue the yelling and crying. I started feeling bad...thus enter studying for the entrance exam and racking in volunteer hours. I even stated working part time for "customer experience" and to see "how life is difficult and giving up on a career is stupid." TO my girls who work retail wow just seeing how horrible it is. LIKE LITERALLY HARASSMENT IN RETAIL IS REAL My first week this customer started following me around the store and asked me to out and I said no and then he came back and would not leave literally had to to get security on him. then came entering the job field and then to tie it all together the topic of the hijab. My dad hates that I wear it because it stopped a lot of reputable jobs and uuhgjgghjhhj OMG MY GOD I CANNOT I THOUGHt WRITING THIS WOULD BE CATHARTIC AND IT WAS BUT NOW I AM DONE BECAUSE I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO MAKE SENSE OF THIS AND THERE IS TO MANY DETAILS AND NOTHING REALLY MAKES SENSE and I am tired of the yelling. I tried to explain that to be the girl who gets into top schools and all needs to be someone who has an extensive resume (not just the amount.. quality over quantity) but THEY DON'T EVEN LET ME OUT OF THE HOUSE LIKKEEEE MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. YOU CANNOT HAVE THE GIRL WHO IS BOTH AT HOME TRADITIONAL DOES NOTHING AND THE GIRL [WHO ALSO IS GOOD I think if there is any muslims girlie out here trying and living according to the Quran and Hadith and following your dreams to become a doctor to help people, then you do you I am not judging you at all..this is just my thing with my parents] who GOES OUT TO VOLUNTEER AND DOES INTERNSHIPS LIKE HELOOOOOOOO THIS IS NOT BACK HOME WHERE ALL YOU DO IS STUDY AND GET IN. YOU NEED TO BE AN ALL ROUNDER APPLICANT WHO DOES A LOT OF OTHER THINGS NOT JUST STAY HOME
But it's okay..since he SO BADLY WANTS ME TO BE THAT GIRL....I WILL. I HAVE NO ISSUE BEING THE GIRL WHO GETS THINGS DONE. WHEN I AM DONE, WE WILL SEE WHO WINS THIS FIGHT. THIS COMPLETE 180 THAT I AM ABOUT TO TAKE IS JUST GOING TO MINDBLOWING. YOU WANT NO HIJAB ME..FINEEEEEEEEEEEEE AND TO MY MOM WHO IS ALL "SINCE YOU WANTED TO BE MARRIED SO BADLY...WHY DIDNT YOU JUST BRING SOMEONE HOME" I WILLLLLLLL. I DENIED THEM IN THE PAST because I WAS SHY AND I WAS TRYING TO BE RESPECTABLE DAUGHTER FOR YOU........BUT LETS SEE HOW MANY YOU CAN TURN AWAY NOW

2024.05.14 20:37 Sea_Charge_2684 HESI A2 Entrance Exam

Hi guys!
I was incredibly nervous about taking my HESI but I surprisingly did really well! Here are my absolutes to studying:
  1. USE NURSEHUB!! It’s totally worth it, helped give realistic questions. I was using a Mometrix book and it wasn’t helpful at all. I only paid $15 for NurseHub and watched all of the videos. If I had more time I would watch them all over again. Vocab was word for word essentially. There is also a YouTube video by AllofJenny that also had pretty much all of her words on the test.
  2. Anatomy use this quiz let and KNOW IT! https://quizlet.com/680471316/hesi-a2-anatomy-physiology-v1v2-flash-cards/ Pretty much 3/4 of my questions came from this quizlet so I highly recommend it. NurseHub was also useful.
  3. Know your fractions and conversions! My math portion was 100% fractions, proportions, and conversions.
  4. Critical thinking was literally just common nursing questions like who would you take care of first etc. I don’t know if I did well on this to be honest and is kind of confusing but if you’ve practiced critical thinking at all you should be fine. There’s also some quizlets out there for it but I didn’t have time to review them.
  5. Reading comprehension was relatively easy. Asked a lot of questions about conclusions and things that can be implied or inferred.
Overall I did pretty well and someone almost psyched me out by saying they’ve taken it before and it was hard but trust me when I say that this exam was maybe like a 4/10 in difficulty. Study your vocabulary, make sure you know how to solve a proportion, and know your anatomy of what does what. You’ve got this :)

2024.05.14 20:11 EconomyFunction22 Finals and Exam TIps

Hi y'all I need tips for studying cause I have a hard time with it like seen every type of tip and literally it doesn't stick for me. Also my anxiety is like super bad cause I literally almost threw up in the exam room but, I'm willing to hear anything. For example, I just took my Anatomy and Physiology 2 exam and I had a 79% and I just need a 75% and it would replace my worse score. So, in result I bombed the exam and finished with a 75% and I don't even know what I'm doing wrong cause I study like 25/8 and I use whiteboards, yt vids and written note quizlet you name but idk? Anyways do yall have any tip for my future science courses?

2024.05.14 19:43 almundmulk Question for psyc majors: PSYC 305

Hello! So I know for the fall semester 305 is offered Tuesday and Thursday 2:35-3:55 with Carl Falk and then winter debater it’s offered Monday and Wednesday 8:35-9:55 with Hwang Heungsun and Tuesday and Thursday 11:35-12:55 with Jens Kreitwolf.
I was wondering if anyone knows which of these classes is asynchronous (like recorded lectures, online exams). I took 204 and I know the fall semester was in person but winter semester was asynchronous, our lectures were in person but they were also recorded, and our homework, midterms, and final were online.
I honestly preferred this layout and it was a lot less stressful for me so I was wondering if anyone knows which of these classes has the same format, or if there is a way to check
Thank you!

2024.05.14 19:31 Dontouchmeplss Better to pull an all-nighter before my exam or get some sleep (if so, how much)?

I'm well aware that sleep is essential for memory consolidation and focus. But I'm in a bit of a fucked position at the moment.
Certain life events have resulted in me falling drastically behind on my schoolwork. My midterm is on 4 chapters of material and I've only gotten through 2.
I basically have not even touched half of the material that is going to be on my exam (5 hours of lecture material). It's just not possible for me to get even 6 hours of sleep before my exam and go over all the material that will be tested.
I've been weighing the pros and cons of getting sleep vs pulling the all-nighter given the situation but I need some second opinions on this ):
I'm fairly good at forcing myself to get up and going in the morning, so I've been thinking about taking an hour and a half to nap before my exam. Thoughts? Recommendations? Tips? Any and all are greatly appreciated <3

2024.05.14 18:15 LargeDetective2158 Being an over achiever to being an idiot.

Hello, I'm a first year pharmacy student, I want to become a doctor someday, but now I'm losing hope, I don't see myself capable of being a doctor, I'm struggling with my lessons and memorizing, I'm always insecure about my classmate who's always striving sa classes namin and always mataas yung scores sa tests and exam.. I don't know Kong paanu nila na memorize agad yung lectures habang Ako pinoprocess ko pa lang sa utak ko yung sinasabi nang prof namin, always burned out na Ako ang my mental health is not in a good state na. And na notice ko narin na ayaw makipag group sa Akon ng ibang kaklasi ko and my suggestions was always rejected. Although I did tried my best to pass my subject pero kahit Anong gawin ko Hindi tlaga sya mataas. I'm in the edge of losing my scholarship because I can't seem to maintain my grades. Nag strustruggle narin Ako mentally.
I'm always a top in my class when I was in highschool, but now I'm always behind. I want to stop( for a year) to rest for a while pero Meron talaga sa part ko na ayaw ko rin ma left behind and mag adjust again sa new classmates ko if bumalik Ako.
What should I do? Can I ask some advices?

2024.05.14 18:06 Nobody-nnn Grade Appeal Process

I recently checked and saw that I got a B in Dance 110 with AJ, which is shocking. I've been attending all but 1 lecture (and the syllabus explicitely said students can miss 3 without affecting their grades), completed all quizzes and exams on or around average. According to Madgrades, it's a 70+% A class, and I would literally need to do horrible to receive a B.
Has anyone had experience with grade appeal process and how many days should I wait for the professor to respond to my email before I bring it up to the dean?
Thanks for any help in advance.

2024.05.14 18:05 yanadesu Disheartened over Calc II and III grades this year

I got a B+ in both Calc II and Calc III, which I know isn't wholly terrible. Just largely disappointed that for someone who prides themselves in being a math junky, I couldn't get through the finals to pass with an A or A-. I feel like the B+ is deserved though, I only ever put in at most 3 hours a week to quickly look over the lecture notes before any major exam. Do you guys have any tips on finding the motivation to crunch through practice problems? Taking linear algebra and general physics this summer and I want to be able to pass the class with grades that I can be proud of myself with.

2024.05.14 18:01 zekken908 Final year MBBS University exam in 20 days ?

I basically got held back in all 4 subjects because I lacked attendance in anatomy electives in final year , now I have university exams on June 3rd onwards (I’m writing the supplementary)
Thankfully I have a good grasp on Medicine and Paediatrics because I helped my crush study for her final exams back in April , I think 4-5 days will be enough to revise for GM and peads is whatever , I can write most of the answers expect for Neonatology from GM portions
I have studied a bit of surgery and OBG (like 20-30% of portions) here and there because again my crush used to teach me everyday , then we had a big fight and stopped talking and hence I spent the entirety of April and 2 weeks of May just drinking and partying
Do you guys think 10 days for surgery , 5 days for OBG and 4 days to revise medicine will be enough ? (I also get a weekend before my OBG exam)
I know what I did was stupid , please don’t talk about how I wasted all my time , I think about it enough every night, usually I’m very calm but knowing that I’m already in supplementary is scaring me because I only have one shot at this
If it helps I’ve always been a study last minute kind of guy , I simply cannot focus if I don’t feel the pressure of an exam coming up , but I will be able to study for at least 8-10 hours everyday give or take

2024.05.14 15:40 Comfortable_Risk_946 Need Advice As A 2nd Dropper

This is my First Post on this subreddit
In 2023, I gave NEET exam for the first time and scored 296, So I took a drop and studied through YT lectures and scored 512 this year, and I don't think this is enough for selection. Parents agreed for 2nd drop, So I have some doubts regarding that :
  1. Should I have to join some other coaching or prefer self study ?
  2. (If I prefer self study ) What should be the time i finish my revision of all subjects because some people are saying "around January" or some say "around October" ?
  3. Should I solve any other books regarding physics and chemistry ?
  4. What miskates should I avoid during my preparation time ?

2024.05.14 14:01 Good_Onion_6128 Just a third year struggling?

I'm in my third year of university and I'm aiming to at least finish my degree. The thing is, there's a postgrad that I want to get into but I doubt that my scores will be enough considering how competitive this field is. I just want to talk about this because I wondering if there's also anyone else whose in the same boat as me.
I struggled throughout my whole course of uni. The first year was okay, and then in my second year I failed a subject for the first time. The thing is, I love the idea of studying. I want to study, I had made plans throughout my day to study. I get excited about the new semester and how I will be atop of class. But I don't. It's because I literally cannot study. Everytime I tried studying, I'd fall asleep, no matter how good of a rest I get before hand. Last year it got so bad that I was behind 12 weeks in a lot of subjects and had to cram things. I can only bless my luck in how I managed to pass everything else, until I couldn't.
I'm probably suffering from a mental disorder that's not diagnosed. I only say this because this portion of my life in uni is suffering tremendously, and it's keeping me from being able to function normally. This year I'm not doing that great but I'm doing better, and it's only probably thanks to medicine I stock up on to help me focus. It's expensive though, and I use it sparingly because its not easy to get prescriptions for. I really want to get a H1 related to my degree for the first time, but then it seems so daunting, the score I need to get for my exams to make it possible. Over 90s, consistent 80s and such. And then I just feel overwhelmed and I want to give up again.
It's still really bad to the point where I can't attend lectures in person because I'm guaranteed to sleep. I considered maybe going to services provided by uni but then I keep pushing that back. Another factor I guess that adds to this is that I travel far to get to uni. 1.5 one way. And I go to uni maybe 3-4 times a week. I want to do better, but then I keep pushing things until its too late. I'm just barely making it, but Im desperate to get into the post grad. And yet at the same time I know that even if I don't make it, I can probably just work part time jobs for the rest of my life and still survive and maybe be happy, but it feels so daunting.
Just wanted to get this off my chest because I have never actually told anyone, even my friends or family how bad I'm struggling. Is there anyone else feeling the same? Or anyone who has some life advice? Though people are welcome to criticize me, please do so respectfully.

2024.05.14 13:46 Ok-Manufacturer-9419 dumb question about bar exam

Okay so I graduated law school 20+ years ago and never took the bar exam. I'm looking to take it in the next 3 or so years if I can figure out how to find the study time. I've got a stack of Themis books that a kind soul gave me, and I'm looking into some bar prep courses.
Question: Am I supposed to memorize 700 pages of outlines as an element of my preparation?
I guess that makes sense if you’re going to be a lawyer. Just like a doctor needs to know anatomy. I just want to make sure I’m not misunderstanding before I commence this project.
