i’m just done trying to keep up this facade, I hate every aspect of my life. It won’t ever get better It’s so hard to fake a smile everyday man, wish i could just wake up and be a toddler again. I lost all interest in everything that used to make me happy. I seriously just played the game for an hour and a half and didn’t actually enjoy a single minute of it. sometimes I say stuff i don’t mean when i’m emotional or upset but I know it’s bad this time because i’m not even emotional i’m just fed up. I’m done. There’s nothing I want more in this moment then to go to sleep and not wake up like i seriously fucking hate my life why the fuck did i get dealt this shitty hand

I’ve been following this case pretty closely for almost a year now, but I haven’t had time to really watch the trial live (how are some of you watching every minute?!). I was looking for a post that was basically a run-down of the highlights and important revelations so far, but I haven’t really seen any, so I wrote one myself based on what I have been able to discern from the press coverage. Will you all tell me if I’m missing anything? I’m also gonna add some of my own analysis for discussion.
The “I hit him” testimony
A lot of people heard Karen say some version of “I hit him,” or “did I hit him?”, but the defense is doing a good job poking holes in their testimonies. It seems like a number of the people who claim she said “l hit him,” only recorded this several months later. Officer Saraf, for instance, only added the fact that KR said “I hit him” to his testimony several months later. Katie McLaughlin also agreed that her story had “evolved” since the original event. That particular witness was also interesting because she initially claimed to have no relationship with Caitlin Albert, which was later proven to be untrue; Katie McLaughlin was, as photos showed, quite close with Caitlin Albert at one point, which prompted the defense to acccuse McLaughin of perjuring herself. Firefighter Anthony Flematti also claimed Karen Read said “I hit him” but apparently never told anyone this, which was readily highlighted by the defense.
Of the people who testified that Karen Read said she hit O’Keefe, the only person who didn’t get absolutely obliterated by the defense seems to be Timothy Nuttall, although the defense made it clear that his memory of the day was pretty faulty as well.Lots of people heard her say different things: Stephen Mulanney testified that he heard her saying “Is he dead,” “that’s my boyfriend;” Jason Becker testified that he heard Read say “did i hit him?” And Matthew Kelly even said he explicitly did not hear Read say “I hit him” repeatedly.
Honestly, I’m not sure it matters whether or not Karen Read said “I hit him,” or “did I hit him?” It’s clear that she was worried about her own responsibility in the matter, which seems…. Not great but possibly innocuous? She was obviously insanely drunk the night before, and hangxiety/hangover guilt is famously a terrible combination with tragedy. I know I tend to assume the worst when I wake up after a night of heavy drinking. Even when I haven’t been drinking, I tend to blame myself when things go wrong. And I think it’s kind of telling that It doesn’t seem like any of these witnesses really thought that she had a clear, certain memory of hitting him. Except, that is, the officer in the McLaughlin testimony, who I guess summoned a sergeant when he heard her say this.
Anyway, most of this is stuff we already knew. We already knew she expressed that she felt guilty at the scene, and we already knew
The Sloppy Crime Scene & Responding Police Officers
Responding officers were super, uhh, carless when it came to the crime scene. They used solo cups to store the frozen blood found at the scene, which eventually led the blood to dry up. And they used a leaf blower to scan the scene for evidence, which somehow didn’t turn up any broken tail light. Basically, this testimony showed us that it was a super haphazard crime scene that could easily have been tampered with, and that there just wasn’t much care put into the storage and collection of evidence. This is important, because it sets the stage for the defense to say that forensic evidence from the scene cannot be trusted. Paul Gallagher admitted that “nothign about the scene was standard” and that he had never processed a crime scene in the snow before, which led them to improvise in a number of ways.
The other thing we got from these officer- witnesses was that Michael Lank, the canton police lieutenant who responded to the scene, had once been in a physical altercation in order to defend Chris Albert. For the defense, this is relevant because it shows not just the deep ties, but also the extent to which this group of people will go to cover up for their own. And the fact that this tight-knit circle are brutish and violent.
The Bartender
The testimony from the Waterfall bartender appeared to be marginally important. She confirmed that the Alberts were important, powerful people in the town, and that everyone knew who they were. She also said that nobody in the party appeared to be intoxicated.
Brian Albert getting rid of his phone
Brian Albert’s testimony basically just stuck to the party line. The phone thing, though, did remind me of how nuts it is that he got rid of his phone, and I’m assuming it’s not the last we’ll hear of it. I guess we already knew that he got rid of his phone right as it was supposed to be subpoenae’d, but it was still kind of crazy to hear him try to explain away that he got rid of it a single day before he received the order. He basically claimed that he was due for an upgrade so he traded it in. But he and Higgins both happened to destroy their phones right before they were subpoenae’d, which isn’t not suspicious.
Julie Nagel and the Black Blob
Julie Nagel, friend of 23y/o Brian Albert Jr, was inside the house that night. She testified that “I did notice ... something out of the ordinary, like a black blob in the ground by the flagpole,” as she was leaving. The defense didn’t like this, because it refutes the idea that JO was only placed on the lawn later. And they cast doubt on this testimony during the cross examination by pointing out that if she actually saw a body, she would have responded really differently. They also pointed out that she never really mentioned this until now.
The Ryan Nagel & co testimony
Ryan Nagel is Julie Nagel’s brother, who came to pick up his sister right around the time that Karen Read arrived, and left right as she was leaving. He never actually picked up his sister, because she ultimately wanted to stay.
Basically, he and the other people in his car said they saw Karen Read arrive at 34 fairview road. His sister came out to talk, at which point he was focused on his sister. He said he did not observe anyone enter the house, but the cross-examination made clear that this could have happened while he was talking to his sister. When he looked up, he saw the SUV brake lights come on, as if to start driving away. As he pulled up and drove past this car, he saw someone that fit Karen Read’s description in the driver’s seat, alone. He did not observe any damage to the vehicle.
This testimony is important, because this witness saw KR arriving and being alone in her car, which means JO would have left the vehicle at that point. It seems like it could be good for the defense, because he’s saying that she was alone in her car, and that he didn’t see JO outside, which could mean that he was inside. He also said her car didn’t have any visible damage. And it seems like he was a decently observant witness. But it also could just mean that JO’s exit from the vehicle was as unremarkable as his death, which would explain why nobody saw him.
Allison McCabe
Jen McCabe’s daughter, who claims she picked up Colin Albert that night. She testified that she arrived to pick him up at 12:10 or so, and she shows a screenshot of text messages to prove it. The Free Karen Read crowd thinks these are doctored, and I admit the screenshot looks really weird. There are some rumors floating around somewhere that there’s cell phone data that proves he was in the house much later than that, but I haven’t seen it. I also think the hyper focus on Colin Albert is weird, because it seems to me like a million different people could have ben responsible for JO’s death.
The Veterinarian Specialist
Testified that no dog DNA was found on swabs of John O’Keefe, but they did find pig DNA. Jackson’s cross exam reminded the jury that the collection of evidence was highly improper. The vet did concede that the pig DNA could have come from a dog treat.
Thoughts?
I’m hearing a lot of people characterizing this as a bloodbath, but honestly I don’t feel like anything so far has been, like, a crazy bombshell for either side. I would imagine there will be some during the defense’s turn to call up witnesses. Apparently that’s when trials tend to get juicy.
I also don’t really understand why the defense is so obsessed with the Colin Albert story. It seems like it could be easily disproven and then their whole theory falls apart. If I were in charge of Karen Read’s defense, I’d lean into the possibility that there are a million ways John O’Keefe could have died that don’t involve Karen Read. Maybe he slipped on the ice, hit his head, cut himself on his broken glass while he was trying to get up, and crawled quietly to the middle of the lawn where he was too incapacitated to call for help. Maybe he passed out in the gutter and someone else hit him— it seems like a ton of drunk people were coming and going, after all. And hit and runs are super common! Or, if we are to believe that John O’Keefe and Brian Higgins had a common romantic interest in Karen Read, couldn’t Brian Higgins have been equally likely— and have more motive— to bludgeon John O’Keefe? Honestly all those guys seem like the type to get angry and end up in a bar fight.

I (16f) live with my parents (who are only together “for the kids”) and my sister 15F (who i haven’t spoken a word to in like 6months because she’s unstable and responsible for my trauma, but that’s a whole other story). I graduated early and am in college, so I have absolutely no friends. I don’t talk to anyone at all except for my mom and a few words with my dad every day (which usually ends in a horrible argument). I’m fine with it though I’m a loner and enjoy being on my own watching movies and doing hw with no desire to go out and do what girls my age are doing (i have had a bf tho). My mom has always favorited my younger sister just because she’s younger and uses weaponized incompetence to manipulate ppl in our family. in reality, although only i can see it, she is an evil mentally unstable person (an example is she purposely broke my finger in elementary school and never got punished and has done worse since then). even though my opinions get shit on, in the end i’m the one who always solves everything without any credit. my mom is not an issue because she drives me everywhere and, although we have almost no emotional connection and i can’t share my feelings with her, im still grateful. i’m not open with my feelings i usually just pretend not to be emotional and solve things when im around people so they all think im heartless. my mom and grandma pretty much use me as a punching bag after my sister pisses them off because they can’t talk back to her for some reason, but they’re not the problem i still love and appreciate them despite this. the problem is my dad. he’s a narcissist with an insanely big ego. in terms of things, i practically get anything i want no matter the price, but i still done think it’s an excuse to treat my like this and take away my childhood. he comes home after work, fights with my mom insanely loud so his voice booms and echoes across the whole house and then my mom comes in and complains to me as if i can do anything abt it (she has no one to talk to so she yells it all at me). anyways, my dad is a control freak who thinks im his property and that i do what he says and will be around with him forever. i’ve never been abused, but i’ve been berated an insane amount. i know what im capable of and am independent with high self esteem so it doesn’t bother me, but i think someone else would have harmed themselves if they were in my position. when i’m 17 im planning a gap year (which my parents agreed to with an insane amount of conditions) and i can’t wait to get away from them. i probably am not going to come back and will cut them off at some point. i feel so horrible that i feel like this because from the outside everything here seems so perfect. i’ve achieved a lot and have everything i could ever want. but material possessions don’t make up for what ive been through. ik i should just lay low for this next year but i can’t and we’ve been getting into crazy fights over absolutely nothing. i usually just say “ok” and walk away to antagonize my dad and make him see that i dont care about him acting like that but i do care and its rly messing me up rn. i just wish i could have a loving family. the kind you see when you walk around disney world.

As most people here I'm struggling with FB ads these past few days, I tried one tik tok ad with the same budget and the reach is like 10x and got me results already but it's too early to make decisions, anyone here with more experience using it? Is it better to use both or focusing the budget and effort in tik tok might get better results? Thank you!

Just like the title says, I'm adding a kid to our plan, WWYD? So having a fun time making 2-3 sheets per actor. During convo I use different faces to try and convey emotional reactions the best I can. But what’s available in vanilla is limited. I found a few dlc that supposedly adds new stuff. But calls for a generator folder which I made. From what I can tell it adds a bunch of accessories. I got heroin creator 1 and it seems like what’s added is not really much help. I copied from the dlc folders name to name. But it doesn’t seem like I got anything I didn’t already have. Am I doing this wrong? Or better question is there a plug-in I should have added but didn’t? Are there any add ons that give me better options for faces. I think it’s weird that the only crying expression is open eyes. (Unless I’m blind which I won’t rule out) thank you in advance and sorry for posting so much.

Here's a hypothetical:
Two knives of identical shape, size, blade style etc. but one is really hard metal and one is softer. In other words, all other things equal, what's the difference when sharpening a knife that is super hard and carries an edge forever and a knife that loses its edge in a week (pretend they're being used the same way, general purpose).
I'm aware that carbon content is a factor and this question is actually way more nuanced than I'm making it out to be. But treat it like an 'ELI5' kind of thing if you can, I'm new.
If it helps, I have a knife I'm working on that is of mysterious origin so I can't say what metal it is exactly but it is taking a loong time to get an edge on it. For added context, I've had a lot of success getting a cheap store bought knife sharp enough to drag through paper, so what gives?

Eagles over Packets. Why? Eagles D will help carry them to victory. Hurts ability to run adds more dimension than Love. D line will feast on love. Close game. I think jacobs takes a step back or needs a few games to find his groove. I'd personally would go +12 Packets for wiggle room
Falcons over Steelers. Why? Cousins needs to prove to every person with higher percentages of melatonin in this home opener in ATL that he's not a scrub and that he earned his 100$ guaranteed contact. i’m honestly just writing on my burner acct to vent bc i have no one to tell this to but i’d like to here from some ppl who might relate or have advice. I (16f) live with my parents (who are only together “for the kids”) and my sister 15F (who i haven’t spoken a word to in like 6months because she’s unstable and responsible for my trauma, but that’s a whole other story). I graduated early and am in college, so I have absolutely no friends. I don’t talk to anyone at all except for my mom and a few words with my dad every day (which usually ends in a horrible argument). I’m fine with it though I’m a loner and enjoy being on my own watching movies and doing hw with no desire to go out and do what girls my age are doing (i have had a bf tho). My mom has always favorited my younger sister just because she’s younger and uses weaponized incompetence to manipulate ppl in our family. in reality, although only i can see it, she is an evil mentally unstable person (an example is she purposely broke my finger in elementary school and never got punished and has done worse since then). even though my opinions get shit on, in the end i’m the one who always solves everything without any credit. my mom is not an issue because she drives me everywhere and, although we have almost no emotional connection and i can’t share my feelings with her, im still grateful. i’m not open with my feelings i usually just pretend not to be emotional and solve things when im around people so they all think im heartless. my mom and grandma pretty much use me as a punching bag after my sister pisses them off because they can’t talk back to her for some reason, but they’re not the problem i still love and appreciate them despite this. the problem is my dad. he’s a narcissist with an insanely big ego. in terms of things, i practically get anything i want no matter the price, but i still done think it’s an excuse to treat my like this and take away my childhood. he comes home after work, fights with my mom insanely loud so his voice booms and echoes across the whole house and then my mom comes in and complains to me as if i can do anything abt it (she has no one to talk to so she yells it all at me). anyways, my dad is a control freak who thinks im his property and that i do what he says and will be around with him forever. i’ve never been abused, but i’ve been berated an insane amount. i know what im capable of and am independent with high self esteem so it doesn’t bother me, but i think someone else would have harmed themselves if they were in my position. when i’m 17 im planning a gap year (which my parents agreed to with an insane amount of conditions) and i can’t wait to get away from them. i probably am not going to come back and will cut them off at some point. i feel so horrible that i feel like this because from the outside everything here seems so perfect. i’ve achieved a lot and have everything i could ever want. but material possessions don’t make up for what ive been through. ik i should just lay low for this next year but i can’t and we’ve been getting into crazy fights over absolutely nothing. i usually just say “ok” and walk away to antagonize my dad and make him see that i dont care about him acting like that but i do care and its rly messing me up rn. i just wish i could have a loving family. the kind you see when you walk around disney world.

I have been using this macro for quite some time, but recently excel feels compelled to put a "@" at the front of the cell range I've specified whenever I run this macro (it didn't do this before). Normally I wouldn't care about aethestic changes, but by adding this "@" it can change the result of the calculation, which is unacceptable. I have tried to figure out how to tweak the macro to not include this "@" in the front of the range, but I cannot seem to figure it out. Has anyone had a similar issue and is there a way to turn this off?

My mental health story
In 2018, I was diagnosed with OCD and anxiety and was prescribed sertraline.
The dosage of sertraline was increased to max. but it did nothing. It caused diarrhea and insomnia.
Then, I sought another psychiatrist. She added risperidone to help me sleep better. Unfortunately my sleep and anxiety didn't get better. I was prescribed Imovane, alprazolam and my SSRI was switched to escitalopram 20mg.
Escitalopram was more tolerable but my symptoms remained unchanged. I was hospitalized and was diagnosed with severe depression as well. My treating psychiatrist tried to replace 20mg escitalopram with 150mg clomipramine, but my mood worsened on clomipramine. He switched back to 20mg escitalopram. He added mirtazapine 45mg for my depression, anxiety and sleep. He also prescribed 300mg of pregabalin for my anxiety. My mood was still bad, so he added lithium carbonate 800mg. Risperidone was removed due to akathisia.
After being discharged, I was switched from escitalopram to pristiq 100mg. Quetiapine XR 300mg was also added to improve my sleep and anxiety. She also added clonazepam at bedtime.
Since my anxiety, depression and OCD was still severe, I was hospitalized again and was switched from pristiq to 60mg fluoxetine. Quetiapine XR was switched to immediate release to help my aleep. They also added propranolol for my fast heartbeat rate. Alprazolam was removed because it was addicting.
After leaving the hospital, I asked for a change in my antipsychotic to aripiprazole. A month later I was hospitalized again. I was prescribed 70mg fluoxetine, clonazepam 3 times daily. Lithium was removed.
After leaving the hospital, the dose of my Lyrica was increased. Valproate was added to stabilize my mood. Promethazine was added for insomnia. Olanzapine was added because Abilify was not effective enough for my anxiety and OCD. Propranolol was replaced with lorazepam. Valproate was replaced with Lithium.
Therefore, my latest prescription is:

1. Fluoxetine 80mg daily
   1. Mirtazapine 45mg at night
   2. Aripiprazole 25mg daily
   3. Olanzapine 15mg at night
   4. Clonazepam 0.5mg three times daily when necessary
   5. Lorazepam 0.5mg three times daily when necessary
   6. Pregabalin 250mg in the morning and 250mg at night
2. Lithium carbonate CR 800mg at night

Now I feel that I am over-medicated. I often see a lot of people on Reddit who have much worse conditions than I do (e.g. also suffer from depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, BPD, CPTSD, even bipolar disorder), but they are taking less medications/dosage than I am. But the problem is that I can't reduce my medications because some stressful life events are going to happen and my anxiety will become uncontrollable without these 8 meds. I have sought a second psychiatrist but she said no big changes can be made in my prescription. Now I can't afford seeking a "third opinion" from another doctor.
I have tried the following medications:

Nefazodone, ansofaxine, MAOI, psychedelics, and psilocybin are not available where I live.
I also work closely with my clinical psychologist, therapist, social worker, and occupational therapist. I do exercise every day. I tried exposure therapy, CBT, DBT as well as ACT, mindfulness and grounding exercises. Despite my efforts, I was still emotionally unstable.
I've also tried TMS, but it didn't work that well.
What medication can I try? Am I over-medicated? What can I do?

i say "ex" in quotation marks because we were only just friends for like a month before we weren't friends anymore. she lied about her name all this time and i had no clue until 8 months later when we got yearbooks. i saw she had a completely different name. i hate her even more now than i ever did before. she was extremely problematic too do that's probably why. and when i say problematic i fucking mean it. she lied about everything, for example when i asked her "what are we?" and she said we're just friends "right now" (she later stated that she just wanted to be friends and nothing else and that's when we became distant) and she wouldn't stop talking about her ex. she even openly admitted she was obsessed with him and even stalked him. i sent her 9 fucking paragraphs. i hate her so much but if i say what's really on my mind, let's just say i would get permabanned. at least i didn't get cheated on but i really loved her. she would talk to me about her problems and i would listen and support her. i regret doing that so much. i regret every second i ever spent with her. i can't believe i used to smile seeing her face. now i only smile when i think of her dead. it's probably better that we're not friends anymore but i just wish i never even fucking met her. she made my life so much fucking worse. she actually belongs in a fucking mental hospital. i have an actual girlfriend now who cares about me unlike her and actually loves me back the same way i love her and is very much mentally stable (as far as i know). i still have trust issues though. it just seems too good to be real. i'm gonna cut myself after this

Are there instances where Eren is shown to care about his father and what happened to him? What are your opinions?

TLDR: Autism spectrum friend has severe issues going to church, should I let it lie or try to bring them along?
I have an old friend who is a fellow Christian. He's had mental problems all his life, including being somewhere on the autism spectrum. He has trouble talking to most people and can't stand being around larger groups of people. He also tends to shut down and go silent if pressed too far, even if spoken to. Really dislikes social situations in general, even when they go well.
This hasn't been a good mix with going to church in person, and he hasn't done it in a long time. He's been watching livestreams on Sundays instead. I feel like he should still go to in person services as a matter of Christian fellowship. At the same time I know that even with a good spirit he isn't going to enjoy it at best, and at worst it might cause an incident.
Should I try and coax him back? Is it better to leave the situation be? I'm torn and could use advice.
