2024.05.14 14:58 shyamyoga What should I look for in a prenatal yoga class?

Introduction:
Pregnancy is a transformative journey that brings joy, excitement, and a profound connection with your growing baby. As you navigate this remarkable time, maintaining your physical and emotional well-being becomes paramount. Prenatal yoga offers a nurturing and supportive practice designed specifically for expectant mothers, offering a multitude of benefits for both body and mind. However, with the abundance of prenatal yoga classes and instructors available, choosing the right one can feel overwhelming. In this guide, we'll explore the essential factors to consider when selecting a prenatal yoga class or instructor, empowering you to make an informed decision that supports your pregnancy journey.
Understanding the Importance of Prenatal Yoga:
Before diving into what to look for in a prenatal yoga class or instructor, let's briefly explore why prenatal yoga is beneficial for expectant mothers:
  1. Physical Health: Prenatal yoga helps alleviate common pregnancy discomforts such as back pain, sciatica, and swelling by gently stretching and strengthening the body. Targeted poses and movements support pelvic floor health, improve posture, and prepare the body for labor and delivery.
  2. Emotional Well-Being: Pregnancy can evoke a range of emotions, from excitement and anticipation to anxiety and apprehension. Prenatal yoga provides a nurturing space for mothers to cultivate mindfulness, reduce stress, and connect with their baby and inner selves.
  3. Community Support: Prenatal yoga classes foster a sense of community and solidarity among expectant mothers, creating a supportive environment where experiences can be shared, questions can be asked, and friendships can be formed.
Now, let's explore the key considerations when choosing a prenatal yoga class or instructor:
Instructor Qualifications and Experience:
  1. When selecting a prenatal yoga class, it's essential to ensure that the instructor possesses the necessary qualifications and experience to safely guide pregnant women through their practice. Look for instructors who have completed specialized prenatal yoga teacher training programs accredited by reputable yoga organizations. Additionally, inquire about the instructor's experience working with pregnant women and their familiarity with the unique needs and considerations of prenatal yoga practice.
Emphasis on Safety and Modifications:
  1. Pregnancy brings about significant changes in the body, including hormonal shifts, increased joint laxity, and a growing belly. A reputable prenatal yoga class will prioritize safety and offer appropriate modifications to accommodate the changing needs of expectant mothers. The instructor should provide clear guidance on how to modify poses to ensure comfort and safety throughout each trimester of pregnancy. Additionally, the class should include practices that promote pelvic floor health and address common pregnancy-related issues such as round ligament pain and pelvic instability.
Focus on Breathwork and Mindfulness:
  1. Breathwork (pranayama) and mindfulness practices are integral components of prenatal yoga, offering invaluable tools for managing stress, anxiety, and discomfort during pregnancy and labor. When evaluating prenatal yoga classes, inquire about the incorporation of breath awareness, deep relaxation techniques, and guided meditation. A well-rounded prenatal yoga class will emphasize the connection between breath, body, and baby, empowering mothers to cultivate a sense of calm and presence amidst the whirlwind of pregnancy.
Supportive Environment and Community:
  1. Pregnancy can sometimes feel isolating, especially for first-time mothers navigating the unknown. A nurturing and supportive environment can make all the difference in a prenatal yoga class. Look for classes that foster a sense of community where expectant mothers can share their experiences, ask questions, and receive support from both the instructor and fellow participants. Whether in-person or online, a supportive community can provide a sense of belonging and camaraderie that enhances the overall prenatal yoga experience.
Accessibility and Convenience:
  1. In today's digital age, online yoga classes offer unparalleled accessibility and convenience for expectant mothers. When choosing a prenatal yoga class, consider factors such as scheduling flexibility, class duration, and the ability to practice from the comfort of your own home. Online prenatal yoga classes allow you to tailor your practice to your specific needs and preferences, whether you're a busy professional, a stay-at-home parent, or someone with limited mobility.
Conclusion:
Choosing a prenatal yoga class or instructor is a significant decision that can profoundly impact your pregnancy journey. By prioritizing factors such as instructor qualifications, safety protocols, emphasis on breathwork and mindfulness, supportive community, and accessibility, you can select a prenatal yoga class that aligns with your unique needs and preferences. Whether you opt for in-person classes or online yoga classes, the key is to find a nurturing and supportive environment where you can safely and confidently nurture your body and baby. With the guidance of a knowledgeable and compassionate instructor, prenatal yoga can become a cherished practice that enhances your well-being and prepares you for the transformative journey of motherhood.

Case approved. Married to USC. We’re both transgender.
Hello! I’ve been a lurker on this subreddit for a while, and have found this to be an incredible resource. We just got our case approved recently so I wanted to join in and share some of insights as well.
Specifically for transgender people as well. As, the information out there pertaining to queer petitioners is very sparse.
  1. Gender related takeaways
In the past few years I’ve used three names and the submitted evidence reflected this discrepancy. Not to mention the difference in pronouns in different documents. After speaking to a lawyer, I attached a notarized letter to my application explaining that I’m transgender and the difference is names, and pronouns used by different people.
I also attached two physicians letters confirming my transition.
I also changed my gender with social security and my drivers license before submitting my application (I’m in NY, so relatively easy). My home country doesn’t let you officially change your gender, so that could not be updated.
  1. Overall takeaways
We prepared and submitted our application ourselves. But we did get help from a lawyer on two occasions.
First, I booked a consult with an immigration lawyer ($300) before I started my application. That was great because she was able to answer some questions I had specific to my case.
Secondly, we took advantage of a local non-profits application review services. We took our completed application to her and she gave everything a look-over for free. This was super helpful, as she pointed out mistakes that we would not have known about otherwise.
We were also extremely well-organized in our preparation. We tried to follow USCIS’s guidelines to a T.
https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/tips-for-filing-forms-by-mail
We did pretty much everything listed on here, including the two hole punches and the sticky tabs. I like to believe this is partially why our case was adjudicated so fast.
Finally, I believe the best thing I did throughout this process is try to think abt it as little as possible once we put in the application. I didn’t check the case tracker or the USCIS site unless I got a notification, and I focused on other things in my life. In fact, our I-485 was approved 4 days ago and I just learned abt it today 💀.
I’ve attached photos of my timelines with this post for reference. If anyone has any questions for me, especially queer people going through this process, please feel free to ask! And I will do my best to help you any way I can!

2024.05.14 14:53 prossnip42 During this contest one of my friends from the States asked me an interesting question " Germany rarely ever wins these, why don't they just send Rammstein and crush the contest?"

And my response to that was very simple:
"Why in the fuck would RAMMSTEIN of all bands need to go to Eurovision lol?" Like talk about climbing down from you throne of gold to mingle with the commoners
Because yeah, my friend's correct, if Germany genuinely decided "Fuck it, i'm winning this year, here's literally one of the most world wide known bands to ever come out of Europe" they would win. Like they would absolutely CRUSH everybody. Rammstein has EVERYTHING needed to win a Eurovision contest. It would genuinely be one of the only times where the jury vote would be completely irrelevant because their fanbase will just vote them to number 1. But that's the thing...
Eurovision exists for many reasons but one of the key ones among them is so that unknown artists or artists that are only popular in their home countries get some exposure. What exposure does FUCKING RAMMSTEIN need exactly lol? This is a band that is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and they're STILL selling out giant arenas. Their latest album was a worldwide hit and it wasn't even their best album by a longshot. it's the same reason why Finland will never send Nightwish or Sweden Sabaton or The UK Iron Maiden etc.

Predictions for Sharjah masters starting today! Name your top 3 picks.
Top 30 seeds
For complete list https://chess-results.com/tnr902564.aspx?lan=1
My personal picks:
  1. Arvind Chithambaram
  2. Yu Yangyi
  3. Fedoseev
I think Arjun(last years's winner) will be a little too tired for this event and Parham might not be as solid and loss here almost kills your chances. Winning score should be 7/9 with a TPR of 2825. This year the field is more strong and due to FIDE circuit incentive players would be taking a little more risk in final rounds to secure outright victory rather than playing short draws.
What is your top 3 picks guys. Open tournaments are so tough to predict. Anyone getting right is some Nostradamus level shit.

Struggling to Reach Your Target Audience? Newswire Can Help
In the vast and ever-evolving landscape of digital marketing, one of the most crucial challenges faced by businesses is effectively reaching their target audience. Whether you're a start-up looking to establish your brand presence or a seasoned enterprise aiming to expand your market share, the ability to connect with the right audience is paramount for success. However, with the sheer volume of online content and competition out there, cutting through the noise can be daunting.

Understanding the Challenge

Before delving into solutions, it's essential to understand the underlying challenges of audience targeting in today's digital age. The internet has democratized content creation, allowing anyone with a voice to share their business news today. While this opens up incredible opportunities, it also means that consumers are inundated with a flood of information daily. Standing out amidst this digital cacophony requires a strategic approach.

The Importance of Targeted Messaging

Central to effective audience engagement is the concept of targeted messaging. This involves tailoring your content and communications to resonate specifically with your desired audience segments. Generic, one-size-fits-all messaging often falls flat in a crowded marketplace. Instead, businesses must leverage data-driven insights to understand their audience's preferences, behaviours, and pain points.

Leveraging Newswire Services

One powerful tool in a marketer's arsenal for overcoming audience engagement hurdles is leveraging newswire services. Newswires are platforms that distribute press releases and other content to journalists, bloggers, and news outlets. They act as conduits, amplifying your message and ensuring it reaches a broader audience beyond your immediate networks.

The Role of SEO in Newswire Distribution

Effective newswire distribution isn't just about broadcasting your message—it's about doing so strategically. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) plays a crucial role here. By optimizing best press release service with relevant keywords and phrases, businesses can enhance their visibility in search engine results. This means that when journalists and consumers are researching related topics, your content is more likely to appear on their radar.

Choosing the Right Newswire Service

Not all newswire services are created equal. When selecting a platform to distribute your press releases, consider factors such as reach, credibility, and audience targeting capabilities. Reputable newswires have established relationships with journalists and media outlets, increasing the likelihood of your content getting picked up and shared.

Crafting Compelling Press Releases

The success of a newswire campaign hinges on the quality of your press releases. A well-crafted press release should be concise, engaging, and newsworthy. Start with a compelling headline that grabs attention, followed by a concise yet informative body that highlights key points. Incorporate multimedia elements such as images or videos to enhance visual appeal.

Amplifying Your Reach

Beyond business press releases, successful audience engagement requires a multi-channel approach. Leverage social media platforms to amplify your message and encourage sharing. Engage with influencers and thought leaders in your industry to extend your reach organically. The goal is to create a ripple effect where your content resonates with different segments of your target audience.

Measuring Success

No marketing effort is complete without proper analytics and measurement. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as website traffic, click-through rates, and media mentions to gauge the impact of your newswire campaigns. Use these insights to refine your strategy and optimize future outreach efforts.
pr distribution services
Reaching your target audience in today's digital landscape requires a blend of creativity, data-driven insights, and strategic distribution. Newswire services offer a powerful platform for amplifying your message and connecting with journalists, bloggers, and consumers. By leveraging these services effectively and crafting compelling content, businesses can break through the noise and engage their audience authentically. Remember, it's not just about broadcasting a message—it's about forging meaningful connections that resonate with your audience's needs and aspirations.

The Impact of Newswire Distribution on SEO

Effective newswire distribution can boost your SEO efforts in several ways:
  • Backlink Generation: Press releases distributed through reputable newswires can earn valuable backlinks from authoritative websites, enhancing your site's authority and search engine rankings.
  • Increased Online Visibility: Wide dissemination of press releases increases brand visibility and exposure, driving organic traffic to your website.
  • Social Signals: Press releases shared on social media platforms generate social signals that contribute to SEO rankings.
In the digital marketing landscape, reaching your target audience requires a strategic blend of compelling content, targeted distribution, and SEO optimization. Newswire services offer a powerful platform for amplifying your message and connecting with journalists, bloggers, and consumers globally. By leveraging these services effectively and implementing SEO best practices, businesses can enhance their online visibility, drive organic traffic, and ultimately achieve their marketing objectives. 2024.05.14 14:46 stephaniesmith45 Started new job a month ago and having issues?

Been her 5 weeks. Every order we place has at least 40 to 50 steps. I’m a very quick learner and usually don’t have issues learning but I can’t seem to get any order completely correct since every customer is different. I am used to quantity. Very fast pace placing 50 to 100 orders a day. Here it is quality and attention to detail.
I have so many notes. I made a check list (which has helped) but when my orders are checked by the trainer or my manager, they always seem to find something. I think I have the dates right. I check online to verify but they always find something different. Even someone small like not capitalizing a letter is flagged. Even if I copy and paste it exactly how the customer wants it.
Also the trainer trained me different on some of the things so now when the manager checks them she says they are wrong. I tell her that is how I was trained but then I feel like I’m tattling or blaming the trainer.
I still haven’t learned the hardest part of the job which is invoicing. I am told that has more info and steps than placing orders. What if I don’t get it?
I’m 49 female and can’t fail this. So stressed. I’m only making $20 and hour which isn’t great but data entry is my strong point but this is different because the info is so extensive.

2024.05.14 14:43 DutyTop8086 How to Land Your Dream IT Job After Earning Your CompTIA Certification: A Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Finding a Job You’re Interested In
Step one is incredibly important in your job-hunting journey because you don’t want to waste your time searching, applying, and interviewing for a position you don’t actually want. You can get the same practice interviewing by going out for jobs you really want, so you have to figure this out.
Is there a particular area of IT that interests you? Maybe you don’t see yourself specializing in your work, and that’s fine. There are companies seeking IT professionals who can follow various types of projects and work closely alongside other tech experts.
Not only is becoming an IT professional a practical job choice, but it’s also dependable in terms of career growth. The demand for IT professionals has continued to steadily grow over the years, with employment for IT specialists estimated to grow by a whopping 11% in the next decade.
As an IT professional, your skills will also make you eligible for employment at businesses other than tech companies. You might also decide to teach or be your own boss as an independent contractor for IT services. An IT education displays the skills necessary to work in a wide range of occupations, including government, finance, healthcare, and more! Should you transition into another field of study, IT courses still offer an educational foundation that you can build on throughout your life.
In today’s market, careers don’t have a linear direction—instead of moving up the office positions, you may shift from one occupation to another, learning to pick up certain skills as they become more in demand. IT professionals show great career development. They have strengthened problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and interpersonal relations, all trending job traits.
Another way to narrow down your options is to pick a city or location in which you want to work and begin searching there. You can search in nearby areas as well if the immediate city doesn’t have open positions for IT professionals. Maybe you want to find a position that is flexible, so you can work some hours remotely or on the weekends to fit your lifestyle better.
Whatever the case, once you narrow down your criteria and select some jobs you’re interested in, you can begin applying and interviewing.
  1. Getting Past the Gatekeepers
Highlight your skills and credentials to potential employers. This will help you stand out, and it showcases your credibility and skills. Accreditation ensures high-quality education and services for schools in a similar way that certification ensures high-quality job candidates.
As a graduate of the CompTIA certification program, you secure more than the necessary coursework needed to sit for various IT exams and certifications, such as the CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications. These certifications are well-recognized in the industry and can significantly boost your employability.
Your CompTIA certification demonstrates your competence and readiness to handle IT tasks effectively. Not only is CompTIA recognized globally, but it also aligns with industry standards and expectations. Employers often look for candidates with certifications from accredited programs, as it assures them of the quality and relevance of the skills acquired.
  1. Using Temporary Agencies
Once your certification is completed, the next steps and hunt for an entry-level career begin. Temporary agencies, or staffing agencies, are one of the best and time-tested strategies in the IT hiring process.
For a short period of time, employers hire temporary workers until they have time to find a permanent employee. Temp jobs can give you experience in industries and careers you might not have otherwise thought of trying—without a long-term commitment. Furthermore, firms like Robert Half Technology are well-paying and reputable temp agencies in the IT field.
They will send you out for short-term assignments, which is an ideal amount of time to get your foot in the door for a full-time position or to gain experience in a particular field. Having a high-powered connection is the most likely way to getting hired. These include a recruiter, a temp agency, or a personal friend who has connections in the industry. If you have no connections or you haven’t made it to a recruiter’s list yet, then your best bet is to go in through a tech temp agency.
The temp process should not last longer than a year. As a result, you may want to pursue a part-time position as a temp in a firm while you are getting your degree or other qualifications. Regardless of how you get on the inside of a firm, remember the cardinal rule number two in all firms is privacy. You should avoid gossip and discussing your business, or the business of others, with those inside the firm. Use discretion when releasing any personal information. You want to make and maintain friendships while remaining professional and representing the firm you are under at all times. You never know where networking will lead you, or how it can help you get hired in the future!
  1. Interviewing for an IT Job
Before interviewing with a company or any of its representatives, you will want to remember a few important facts. IT managers are often detail-oriented and thorough. Consequently, they listen to every detail you say and weigh it in the balance of what it is they want from you. Therefore, choose your words carefully and avoid getting personal.
While you don’t want to get too personal, you also don’t want to answer questions with a simple “yes” or “no.” Explain your reasons for answering a question a certain way. Take time to answer an interviewer’s questions. If you need a minute to think before you answer, take it. You don’t want to look stuck and allow long periods of silence, but thinking about a question before you commit to an answer shows the interviewer that you care about your answers and want to be hired. If you reiterate the question back to the interviewer, you can ensure that you’ve understood them correctly and buy yourself a few more moments to consider your response.
This is a cardinal rule in negotiations: He who speaks first loses. At a time when you are seeking to negotiate a salary, view our previous IT blog post for tips on negotiating an above-average IT salary.
  1. Accepting the Job
The goal of the interview process is to be hired for the job, so this moment is exciting and probably intimidating as well. You might decide to accept the job, decline the job, or negotiate the job with pending acceptance. When you’re offered a job that you’re unsure of accepting, it’s okay to consider the offer prior to accepting or declining. If you tell the company you’d like to think about the offer, give them a date you’ll let them know by, never more than a few days. They have a position to fill and others to notify, so they can’t wait around for you to respond to their offer.
Here are some things to consider about a potential job:
Once you are offered a position and decide you’re ready to accept the job, you’ll need to let the prospective employer know. Be proactive. It’s common to wait 24 hours before accepting a job, and during that time you can ask for the offer in writing if it is not provided. Verbal offers and acceptances are okay, but written communication alleviates room for any disconnect between you and your potential employer in the scope of the job, benefits, etc. Make sure you discuss the starting date of employment. Allow yourself enough time to prepare and conclude your time with any previous employers if necessary.
Perhaps the most important reason to pursue IT certification programs is that you have all the tools to achieve a career doing what you love. IT courses provide the tools and develop the skills necessary to excel in the field. Accessible resources may include online case citation software, exercises that strengthen your technical knowledge, research and investigative skills, technology organization, and multitasking.
If you’re searching for the tools you need to earn your certification in a convenient and affordable manner, then consider reputable institutions that offer comprehensive IT programs. These institutions provide you with the complete freedom to manage your personal life, get hired at your dream job, and pursue your education—all at your own pace. Contact them today and discover how their excellence in online career training can help turn your dreams of an IT career into a reality.

What Is LinkedIn SEO?
How Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) works for LinkedIn???
LinkedIn SEO is all about optimizing your profile and content to boost your visibility and ranking, offering a myriad of opportunities for career progression, business networking, and establishing a prominent presence within your industry.
When you fine-tune your profile’s headline summary, work experience, and skills section with specific keywords, you can boost the likelihood of appearing in LinkedIn’s search results.
Imagine someone searching for specific keywords or skills related to your professional background – a well-optimized profile significantly increases the chances of your profile being featured in their search results.
On top of that, LinkedIn profiles can also show up in traditional search engine results pages (SERPs) like Google, expanding your online presence.
Beyond profile optimization, the impact of SEO extends to your content. LinkedIn posts and, particularly, articles have the potential to rank within LinkedIn’s search engine, showcasing your expertise within the platform.
Furthermore, these articles, with their long-form nature and valuable insights, can also rank on traditional search engines, leveraging LinkedIn’s high domain authority for increased visibility both on and off the platform.

Why You Need to Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile:

An optimized LinkedIn profile is one where every part of your personal profile is filled out and shows audiences what you do, who you are, and what you are an expert in.
This helps your profile rank higher in LinkedIn searches and builds trust among those who might want to connect or follow you.
Do You Know??
Even more compelling? Some 44% of LinkedIn users earn more than $75,000 a year. That’s a considerable bump up from the national median income of $68,703 per household.
Let's Dive in:
6 steps to help improve your LinkedIn SEO optimization for better results.

Step 1: Keywords.

A keyword is a word or phrase that searchers enter into a search engine. Learn more about Keyword Research. Examples of keywords and phrases include:
Example:
In seo bint e jamil, 'Digital Marketing Manager' is the keyword.
For LinkedIn, create a list of 7-10 words or terms that your ideal client would use when searching for the service you offer. For example:
Now, use these keywords throughout your profile in as many sections as possible, including your:

Step 2: Profile Completeness

To rank highly your profile will need to be 100% complete, with every profile section completed. Consider using bullet points rather than paragraphs, and format the text so it’s easy to read.
Let’s take a look at what you should focus on to fully optimize your LinkedIn profile.

1: Images Optimization:

When you’re setting up your profile, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a solid profile picture.
LinkedIn can be a sales goldmine when used strategically.LinkedIn can be a sales goldmine when used strategically.
Among all the social media platforms out there, LinkedIn stands out as the go-to platform for professional social networking.

2: LinkedIn Background Photo:

Background photos are like billboards. You can use this space to show your accomplishments and awards or offer free resources.

You should also:

3: Craft a Keyword-Rich Tagline /Headline:

Your LinkedIn headline sits just below your profile image and name. Customising your headline is not only critical for SEO, it’s also an important part of your personal brand - how people view and perceive you on the platform.
LinkedIn automatically populates your headline with your current or most recent position – however, you have the option to customise it. Remember, you want the headline to create an informative and impactful snapshot of yourself.
Linkedin Headline Optimization
When creating your headline:

Headline Example:

For a digital marketing manager, a similarly optimized tagline could be, "Innovative Digital Marketing Strategies to Elevate Your Brand's Presence" — placing the target keyword "Digital marketing strategies" prominently at the start.

4. Featured Posts on LinkedIn

The Featured section on LinkedIn is a space on your profile where you can highlight important content.
LinkedIn Featured Section
It’s near the top, below your photo and headline. You can use this section to showcase:
Featured content isn’t permanent, so you can change it up to include new content as regularly as you like!

5.Create a Compelling “About” Section

The About section is the meat of your Company page. Here, you have the space to go into more detail, telling the story of your brand and naturally incorporating relevant keywords throughout.
About Us LinkedIn SEO
Here are some components to consider including in your About section:
Here’s an example of the beginning of an About section for a data analytics company:
At ABC Company, we democratize data analytics, enabling businesses of all sizes to unlock insights through our intuitive, AI-powered analytics platform.
Finally, you can add in some “Top skills” as a way to remind readers what your services are. This also presents another opportunity to add in your keywords.

6.Work Experience

When I’m looking at someone’s experience section on LinkedIn, I’m looking to see if they meet the criteria of the role beyond a job title. Their job duties and achievements give me a better understanding of their scope of knowledge and specific skill sets this role needs.
LinkedIn “Work Experience” section

Fields for LinkedIn experience entries

Each position on LinkedIn has a combination of required (*) and optional fields:

Required fields for LinkedIn Work Experience entries

Title*

List your position title, including any relevant keywords. Sometimes job titles benefit from being revised for common searches.
Example: "Content Marketing Manager" might be more search-friendly than "Manager, Marketing Content."

Company name*

Many companies already have a company profile on LinkedIn and will autocomplete from the LinkedIn Company Page in the dropdown as you type.

Employment dates*

This is usually shown by a start and end date. If you’re currently working in the role, click “I am currently working in this role” and it will automatically list your end date on your profile as “Present.”

Industry*

This doesn’t display on your profile. Select the best match and keep going.

Optional fields for LinkedIn Work Experience entries

The profile gets much more interesting with the additional, optional work experience fields including:

Employment type

Location

Sharing the location can give people reviewing your profile a sense of where you’ve worked (and where you’re likely based).

Location type

Choose from On-site, Hybrid, and Remote. Showing that you have experience working in a certain capacity can be valuable to some recruiters and employers. Example: If you have a work history in remote roles, you may be a strong candidate for additional remote roles.
Description
This is a written summary, usually two or three sentences long, that allows you to show your job duties, achievements, and expertise. By including relevant information with a few highlights and key accomplishments, you can improve your odds as a job seeker.
Pro tip: To further optimize your LinkedIn profile, consider using ChatGPT for your LinkedIn summary.

7.URL Optimization

LinkedIn allows you to personalise your URL, changing it from the automated URL, which is usually quite long and contains a random assortment of numbers. Upon updating make sure you update your email signature, business cards and other marketing collateral.
URL Optimization in LinkedIn SEO

To change your LinkedIn public profile URL:

For LinkedIn Public Profile URL:
  1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Click View profile.
  3. Click Edit public profile & URL on the right side.
  1. Under Edit your custom URL on the right side, click the Edit icon next to your public profile URL.
  1. Type the last part of your new custom URL in the text box.
  2. Click Save

Drive Results with LinkedIn SEO Optimization

By enhancing the different components of your LinkedIn profile page with a strategic approach to LinkedIn SEO optimization, you’ll be much more likely to appear in search results. This will go a long way toward increasing your visibility and helping drive more business opportunities. Remember that SEO isn’t just a one-time effort, but rather an ongoing process that requires regular attention and updates to deliver your desired results.

2024.05.14 14:40 sophieornotsophie_ The nastiest trial day I've ever had

I will try to keep this short. The company I work for is going through an acquisition and I am not on permanent contract, so as much as I like it and they seem to like me, I am still looking around. I had an interview with a company close by in a similar position (finance) and being a smaller company the interview was directly with the GM. All was pretty quick and fairly nice so I agreed to go to the office and see what they were actually doing in person, as she said "it will be better to understand the job". I noticed the office was not in the best condition, with piles of documents almost everywhere but I didn't think much of it since the interview was so quick. I show up at 9 as agreed and someone buzzes me in. Right after me, they proceed to buzz in the whole rest of the company as no one is apparently allowed to have the keys of the front door. I sit down next to a guy who tells me just to wait, a person will be with me soon to show me some stuff. 40 minutes pass and I am literally playing on my phone, when he decides me to throw me a letter and ask me what I understand from it since it's in a foreign language - which I speak. I explain it to him and start waiting again. After some 15/20 minutes he asks me to look at an email and do some online research to be able to answer the person.. Mind you, I don't work there and no one explained me anything about the company yet. I spend 1h researching as agreed and he gives a quick look and says "good, I will use this to answer them". Then another lady comes to me with a cordless phone, all covered in grease from someone's face and tells me I need to make a phone call. She explains what I need to request and how and I comply. While talking to the customer she keeps interrupting and asking for further stuff, which I cannot understand as the other person is also still talking. At this point I am already pretty annoyed so I just ignore her and keep talking with the customer till the line cuts. Apparently someone else in the office is making a different call on the same line and "oh yeah it happens with these phones". She then proceeds to pick up an old cell phone with the glass completely shuttered and explains that is the mobile they use. THE GLASS WAS COMING OUT OF THE SCREEN AND YOU COULD FEEL IT. Then she asks another guy to take over and if I tell you he never brushed his teeth ever you have to believe me. The smell was disgusting. He gave me another task and left me alone, but I noticed immediately in the time I agreed to be there I could not finish it so I said: "You guys have the break at 12.30 right? Cause I made plans afterwards as I was just asked to be here in the morning" to which he answers "oh not really, it depends". I completed half of the task and at 12.30 I gave back the paperwork and said I needed to leave. GM comes to me and convinced it went well asks if I will be able to go back another day to see more, maybe for the whole day. Mind you, all of this was not paid as I was under the impression I just had to go see what they do and not actually work. Bonus points: THE OFFICE WAS NASTY. The laptop (yes they use laptops, idk how they don't get blind) was so dirty you could not see some of the letters on the keyboard. The screen had a big green stripe of exploded pixels right in the middle and the plugged mouse was not working so I used the laptop one. THERE WAS NO TRASH BIN, JUST A TRASH PILE IN A CORNER. Someone told me if I needed to use the bathroom I could. I wish I went checking to have a laugh but I didn't have the courage. People, do better. If you are in a high position make sure the office is decent and people have at least the minimum required conditions to do the job or you will forever complain that you can't find someone to hire. NASTY.

2024.05.14 14:39 CHB12312 Just got off the phone with MOHELA regarding reverting payment amounts after being forced to recertify income early resulting in a higher payment

So I was one of the people who were forced to recertify income early on my IDR plan while in the process to PSLF. This increased my payment amount substantially. Ironically, shortly after (within weeks), the department of education made the announcement that the IDR income recertification deadlines would be pushed back and anyone who recertified early would be placed back on their previous payment amount.
Like most, I have called MOHELA a multitude of times since then, spoke to many supervisors, and was eventually put on an administrative (processing) forbearance and told that they were working it out. This was on March 18th. Well on May 2nd, under documents received, the IDR request was changed to "canceled".
I finally had a chance to call MOHELA to follow up on this and to see why it was canceled and my payment amount is the same. The representative that I spoke to mentioned that it was canceled and provided the following reason (which seems like it was read off a script). She said that she sees it listed as canceled because they are actually waiting on the department of education to make these changes and revert people back to the previous payment amounts/plans and that once it is done on their end, they will be able to make the change. They said the department of education is working diligently on this to make these corrections and that people will be just placed in the administrative forbearance until this is completed. They had no idea of a timeline as to when this could be done.
Has anyone else been told this? @Betsy514 curious if this is you understanding as well? In the past when we discussed this, it seems like this was supposed to be MOHELAS doing, but now I am being told by MOHELA that this is actually the department of education who needs to make this change?

2024.05.14 14:38 DutyTop8086 How to Land Your Dream IT Job After Earning Your CompTIA Certification: A Step-by-Step Guide

2024.05.14 14:38 Few-Flounder-8951895 Downplayed Super characters

In this subreddit I've seen my fair share of different roster predictions and whishlists, however I think many people downplay the importance that Super will have on the game. Whether you found Super good or bad as a series, it doesn't matter, because it is undeniable that it will be rightfully heavily pushed by this game for a variety of reasons, even at the expense of older fan favourite content from BT3.
The point of this post is to specifically highlight some Super characters that many people downplay when I think they have a fair chance at being playable in the base game; just like Bergamo, Kakunsa and Whis were downplayed by the majority of people before their inclusion.
Of course, from this list are excluded those characters and forms that are either already confirmed (like base Jiren) or that everybody take for granted (like GoD Toppo). Furthermore, I'm only considering characters and forms that appeared in the Super anime or in the Super movies, as I think that the manga characters/forms will unfortunately be off limits. Finally, I am not saying all of the following characters are going to be playable for sure, but don't be surprised when at least 1/2 will be.
Now, let's start in general order of appearance:
TAGOMA The most important of Frieza's henchmen during the anime RoF arc. I can very well see him making the cut just to cover that portion of the story effectively. If we can have lots of Frieza minions from the Namek saga, we can have at least one from RoF and he is the most logical pick.
JACO Another character that debuted during the RoF arc. Now, of course he actually debuted in the DB spinoff bearing his own name, but he became a staple of the DB canon thanks to RoF. Jaco, in my opinion, is more than just a crossover character, he is a DB one, and I think an important one at that. He warns the Z-fighters and helps them during the RoF arc, he was helpful during the U6 Tournament saga and he then returned with a blast during the Moro arc (without even mentioning some other cameos here and there).
CHAMPA While Beerus was a shoe-in, Champa is the second most likely GoD to become playable. He is important in at least two sagas, he cameoed before and after them, the fans love the guy and he has showed a lot of moveset options throughout the anime and manga. He was also already playable in other games, so he is a given for me.
VADOS The second most important angel. While we didn't see much of her fighting when compared to Whis, she still is quite important and especially popular. She is also playable in other games, so if they want they can make her happen.
BOTAMO The first U6 team member. He was a rather important character in two sagas, which would help the devs squeeze two story mode fights with a single character. He has also a unique mechanic that would make him a very fun character to play as. I honestly see no reason why he shouldn't be playable.
FROST FIRST FORM Frost is a shoe-in, or at least his Final Form is. I see many people forgetting his previous ones, but in his first appearance he sported a base form that I think has the potential to be here just for the fact of not wanting to have Frost starting out in his Final Form.
FROST THIRD FORM The same arguments made for Frost's First Form can be made here, as he fought against Goku with his Third Form and it is possible they would want to recreate the whole fight for the game story mode, or just to complete the Frost set. However, I agree that this has the lowest chances out of the three main ones.
MAGETTA The same arguments made for Botamo can be made for Magetta in my opinion, if not more so. Now, imagine if they implement a mechanic that gives superarmor to him, but the more he gets insulted the more it weakens. People still talk about the Devilmite Beam mechanic from BT3, imagine the videos that will be made about Magetta.
MONAKA The Mr Satan of DBS. He isn't an essential character but the same can be said of Mr Satan himself who is indeed confirmed to be playable. It would be nice to have him both for completing the U7 team from that arc and for the hilarity that would ensue.
CORRUPTED MERGED ZAMASU I've seen many people say that this particular version of Merged Zamasu won't or shouldn't be playable, however, this form was predominantly featured in the anime and it even already became playable before if I'm not mistaken, even before normal Zamasu himself. In my opinion, if we can have things like Mecha Frieza we should also get Corrupted Merged Zamasu.
ANDROID 18 (SUPER) I think there is still a possibility that A18 gets a Super variant like her brother. This version was recently added to Xenoverse 2, she fought quite a bit from the ToP onwards, enough to create new moveset and interactions, and, as confirmed by the official DB games IG account, A17's Z variant name is just "Android 17", so the fact that A18's Z variant name is just "Android 18" isn't an opposing factor here.
BELMOD Beerus is a must and Champa is highly probable, but the third most likely GoD is Belmod. He was highly involved in both the anime and the manga, even more than Sidra or Quitela, making him a prime candidate in the case they want more GoD representation.
MARCARITA Even less involved than Vados, but if Belmod is in and they want a third angel as well, Marcarita is surely the one to go, even if they would need to get a bit creative with her moves.
DR PAPARONI While everybody agree that Agnilasa will be playable, I think we shouldn't dismiss the mind behind the hulking titan himself. I can see Dr Paparoni acting like a mix between Babidi and Shin from BT3, in the sense of him using Borareta, Koitsukai and Pancea in his moveset, while also being able to transform into the fusion Agnilasa.
KOICEARETA The other half of Agnilasa. This is the initial mechanical fusion of Borareta, Koitsukai and Pancea, a strong one at that, who managed to hold its own against U7. I can see this character being in for the same reasons as Dr Paparoni would, but it probably has the lowest chance out of them three.
KATOPESTRA Despite him not being neither the last man standing of U3 nor their strongest member, he managed to carve a popular niche inside the fanbase. He still appears to this day in other games as playable or as an event, and with his mode change ability he would be very interesting gameplay-wise too.
GANOS BASE FORM U4 from the ToP is probably the trickiest (no pun intended) universe to choose a fighter from. I still think each universe will have at least one playable character in there and Ganos, the U4 leader, is probably where the money's at, being one that the fans happily remember.
GANOS TRUE FORM In the anime Ganos also sported a new form. With this, not only he has an interesting design, but he also fought in a memorable episode against Roshi. I find it impossible for the devs to add Ganos without both of his forms.
DAMOM Damom is the green bug from U4, one of the few ToP characters directly created by Toriyama and who was given extensive coverage in both the anime and the manga, managing to even score some big eliminations. He would be the perfect U4 pick if it wasn't for his miniscule size. If the developers manage to find a way to represent this fighter without issues then I can see him being in the base game.
CAWAY A U4 fighter that has not size issues and that wouldn't need at least two slots to be properly covered, one that is quite popular and that is playable in at least another game already. While I think that Ganos and Damom are the right picks for U4, I wouldn't be surprised if they go with Caway just because it is easier for them and more appealing to the fans.
MONNA Another U4 fighter that has not size issues and that wouldn't need at least two slots to be properly covered. While she is less popular than Caway, she fought more and she was well-received by fans thanks to her fight against Cabba that triggered his SSJ2 transformation. She could be a valid alternative to Caway.
MAJORA Very similar reasons to Monna. No size issues, no more than one slot needed, fought enough to create a valid moveset, his fight with Krillin was very well-received. Majora was also on the ToP intro, like Damom and Ganos but unlike Caway and Monna. I think he is less likely than the former ones I mentioned, but he is still a possible U4 representative.
KALE BASE FORM As it was with Frost, some people say that we won't or shouldn't get Kale's Base Form, but I disagree. Considering her transformations, it would feel so strange to leave out her standard look. Some people complain about her lack of moves, but she has showed some feats in Base Form, especially in the manga retelling of the ToP, and I am sure the devs can cook something out of it in order to have her default state in.
SAONEL The first of the two U6 Namekkians. He is advantaged by the fact of being a Namekkian and a U6 team member. He and Pirina were also the last fighters from U6 and they had a wonderful couple of episodes dedicated to them. His body is also similar to Piccolo's which may help the devs developing him.
PIRINA Same exact reason as Saonel. I think if one gets in, the other will follow; as two separate characters that is, not a two-in-one type like I've seen being suggested around. His body is also similar to Slug's.
DR ROTA A joke character from team U6. We know he is a magician so if they would want him in they could cook something up. That said, I only inserted him into this list as he would be the last U6 member and the devs could feel compelled to add them all at that point.
OBNI U10 was probably the most forgettable universe from the ToP, with Obni, their last man standing, being the only exception as he showed a cool mechanic during an emotional fight. Since I am sure they want to represent all participating universes, Obni is the perfect pick for U10.
KAHSERAL The strategist of the Pride Troopers and the most likely one to become playable outside of the main three. He has a good combination of moves and he could also call the other U11 members for attacks. I think roster size and universes representation is what is really keeping him down.

2024.05.14 14:36 M4MMOTH-r UK apprentice issues

Hey, I'm in a real predicament and I genuinely feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Before I get into it here's some background, I'm 24, live in the UK, have a mortgage and live with my partner living of my sole income, this will be important later
So I come from a sales background of 5 years, primarily in tech, and due to the business I was part of, took for growth was slim so I needed a change of pace. During this time I did the math, saved up and managed to acquire a mortgage and move out of my parents home and be fully sufficient, after which I managed to find a well paying apprenticeship program (more than what I was on in sales, including bonus) and made it through and got the role, this was ~6 months ago
The apprenticeship is a fully remote role, in software development for a small but broadly known in the respected field company. When I applied for the role, I mentioned a strong knack for learning programming languages, and wanting to improve my knowledge and expand my portfolio, and based on the job listing, this was a perfect match for what they were after, and of course I got the role.
Fast forward to now, and the work we've been given has been more or less completely irrelevant to what my apprenticeship programme wants, we have assignments that require work to be done to guidelines within the workplace which I am unable to complete because I don't have evidence for doing these things within the workplace... Because we haven't.
Iv taken steps to try to amend this, iv spoken to my manager and the CEO about there words were "your not falling behind, don't think that" as if to say don't beat yourself up, your fine. When in reality I'm not. After this, I spoke to my contact at my apprenticeship programme and they said they would look into it. But honestly I'm in the headspace where, If I didn't have things to pay for, I'd leave and try again elsewhere
Overall I feel like I'm being let down by my employer for not giving me the tools, technical knowledge and techniques that were promised in the interview and job listing and currently sat, lost and stressed to pieces because it's out of my control
Any advice? Do I just wait and hope? Is there any legal processess I should look into?

2024.05.14 14:36 DcraftBg A rant/question about NVMe

Hello!
Before I begin I want to say that this "rant" is more like an open ended question and doesn't specifically have to be about NVMe
I recently got some inspiration back to try out NVMe since I've always wanted to get something really basic up and running for reading and writing to disk (NVMe was a big recommendation so I wanted to try that).
The problem I'm encountering is that there's A LOT of useful documentation - both the wiki and the specification generally are pretty great at documenting things, but what I've been searching for is some useful code snippets or something that can kind of guide me towards what I need to do to start identifying namespaces. And I know what you're gonna think "This guy wants someone to write him the driver or just give him a full tutorial on it" (something already pointed out by forum members here), however that's not my intent with this. What I want is to have some code that could show me simple steps to just submitting a command and waiting on it (preferably without an IRQ handler since I'm quite the noobie and don't really know how to set the IRQ handler), even if it is just sudo code - I am the kind of person that can understand more the topic at hand if it had some code along with it (C structs to represent data for example or simple functions be implemented in sudo code). Maybe I am jumping the gutters a bit and shouldn't be trying to implement this without first understanding more how PCIe works (another thing mentioned in the wiki page is mem mapping BAR0 which I have zero clue how to do. I can allocate pages and set the BAR0 itself but I don't really see any effect from this)
I was able to get to the point where I could list information about the controller itself from BAR0, print its capabilities and version, but when it came time to submitting the Identify command the program just didn't want to work. It didn't matter if I allocated ASQ myself then set it at BAR0.ASQ or using the pre-existing one from BAR0, the doorbell for the completion queue at 0 was always just 0. Maybe I'm misinterpreting how to check if a completion entry is done or not (I didn't really get the doorbell part, except write to it when you want to submit a command)
The wiki page also mentions some stuff that aren't really covered by it (for example it talks about resetting the controller which is only really covered in the specification) and memory mapping bar0 which I couldn't find any reference to in the couple of searches I did.
I did find some resource online, mainly two things: A reddit post by ianseyler: https://www.reddit.com/osdev/comments/yy592x/successfully_wrote_a_basic_nvme_driver_in_x8664/ A C++ driver for NVME: https://github.com/hikalium/nvme_uio/blob/master Both of which would serve as useful sources but don't really apply for my case. Nvme_uio is kind of messy and abstracts a lot of the simple stuff away in a weird way and iansaylers driver is very useful but I don't want to steal his implementation and a re-write seems kind of cheap and doesn't feel like I learned what I did wrong/what I should've done.
This "rant" is more like an open end question as to:
Should I have worked on other stuff before trying to write a simple driver for NVMe? - How do you exactly "wait on a slot" for NVMe without an irq handler? Do you have to go through every entry in the completion queue or look at specific doorbells. - Have you had any similar issues with your OS and how did you manage to solve them? - Do you think adding code to wiki pages can make it more or less helpful?
Thanks for reading this.

2024.05.14 14:35 Slow-Cartographer-43 Too many objectives

I just started playing like a week ago or something, I have so many quests between main side and daily right now that even if i didn't take on a single other quest it would probably take me a week to finish all of them. they don't stop though, every time you're completing one quest there's like 3 more that are assigned. You don't even get to say yes or no. I know i can toggle them on and off but im kind of big on things being neat and clean... I want an empty quest list before adding a new one. Does anyone else feel like this?

2024.05.14 14:34 _conwy_ [Precalculus] Determining sign diagrams of polynomial functions and their derivatives

Determining sign diagrams of polynomial functions and their derivatives.
Is there a generally agreed procedure – or at least a handful of useful techniques?
Background:
I'm learning about concavity in curves of functions, specifically identifying the turning points and inflections in such curves.
To do this I'm building sign diagrams of f(x), f'(x) (first derivative) and f''(x) (second derivative).
For example:
x -1 0 1/2 1
y' - - + +
  • By working out the signs of the 1st derivative, I can determine the turning points of the curve.
  • By working out the signs of the 2nd derivative, I can determine the inflection points of the curve.
The functions tend to be polynomial, e.g.:
  • f(x) = x^2 - x^4
    • so that f'(x) = 2x - 4x^3
    • and f''(x) = 2 - 12x^2
  • f(x) = x^4 - 3x^2 + 6x
    • so that f'(x) = 4x^3 - 6x + 6
    • and f''(x) = 12x^2 - 6
So far my "technique" is pretty scrappy.
First I determine zero points (by inspection, completing the square or applying the quadratic formula).
Then I just punch tiny permutations into my calculator, e.g. `1.0001^2 - 1.0001^4`, etc, randomly to see whether they're negative or positive, and scrawl down the results. Then I try to throw together a sign diagram that seems right.
I would prefer to follow a consistent method that can generally get me accurate results.
So far I've got this short list:
A) Inspecting for obvious forcing of the whole result.
E.g. in an expression like: 2x^2 - x^2, the result can only be positive, because both sides square x and the left side only doubles that value, so will always be larger than the right.
B) Factoring/grouping.
Factor the polynomial into groups of multiplications if possible, then solve the sign of each group separately, then combined them in the end.
For example:
  1. x^4 - x^3 - 5x => (x^2 - 3x)(x^2 + 2x)
  2. Make two sign diagrams, one for (x^2 - 3x) and one for (x^2 + 2x)
  3. Then combine the signs, i.e. - * - = +, - * + = +, + * + = +
C) Tabulating permutations.
Drawing up a table of values of x (columns) and groups of the polynomial (from the Factoring/grouping above).
For example:
x -1 -1 + 0.001 0 - 0.001 0 0 + 0.001 1 - 0.001 1
(x^2 - 3x) 2 (+) ≈ 3.995 (+) ≈ 0.003 (+) 0 ≈ -0.002 (-) ≈ -1.998 (-) -2 (-)
(x^2 + 2x) ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
This can then easily be converted to a sign diagram.
D) Applying values of powers of fractions.
I noticed it's common that a fraction raised to a power will give a radically (no pun) different result to the whole polynomial.
For example:
6x^3 - 6x will be:
  • Negative for fractions; e.g. (6 * (0.5^3)) - (6*0.5) = -2.25
  • Positive for whole numbers; e.g. (6 * (2^3)) - (6*2) = +36
So it might be useful to quickly identify where powers are applied to fractions and solve for them early.
I'm thinking of memorising (or at least being able to quickly build from memory) a table like the following:
x 2 3 4 ...
1/2 1/4 1/8 ... ...
1/4 ... ... ... ...
1/6 ... ... ... ...
... ... ... ... ...
E) Inverting the polynomial (or grouped parts of it) to find zero points.
For example, given: 5x^2 - 1.
I can invert 5x^2 to get sqrt(x/5) so that sqrt(1/5) gives me a zero point of the expression.
Then I can add/subtract tiny amounts to build the sign diagram around it.
E.g.
x sqrt(1/5)-0.001 sqrt(1/5) sqrt(1/5)+0.001
y - 0 +
What do you think?
Am I generally right to try and find a systematic method or at least a collection of tools to solve this kind of problem?
If so, are there any good books out there that cover such methods, so I don't have to discover them on my own by trial-and-error?
Or if not, then maybe this would be a good topic for a math book or blog post that I should write on my own!

2024.05.14 14:32 PreparationOdd967 Current Village Set

The village set in my opinion is the worst it’s ever looked. The bright green McQueen house is so goofy and the Tony statue in place of the water fountain is ridiculous imo. I think a lot of the sets need a revamp but I know this is probably the last thing on the producers minds. There’s a lot of changes I’d make to the set and I’ll list them below:
The Dog in the Pond: I’d completely change the look of the interior of the pub to something more muted and realistic after the awful revamp back in 2017 (the older pub looked so much better and did not need to be changed).
The Grand Bazaar: I initially really disliked this set when it was first introduced but it really does make the set look more like an actual village and a place you would find in Chester. I wouldn’t really change it but i would utilise the stalls a bit more.
McQueen House (The Cage): I’d turn this into the new village coffee shop with a modern look as the show has been crying out for a place for characters to meet up since the gym replaced the Salon.
The Loft: I’d revamp the nightclub into an industrial/modern type of bar and close the law firm and bring the ground floor of the club back, sealing off the outside staircase entrance/exit.
Harcourt Grove Ltd: I’d turn this building into the law firm or some type of chip shop/food type of business.
The Youth Club: I’d turn the youth club into the new SU Bar and Halls and have that area be part of the university campus, bringing back the original university element of the show.

2024.05.14 14:32 Remote-Cartoonist460 Mutual Fund Basics, Pros and Cons

Mutual Fund Basics, Pros and Cons
Mutual funds are a popular type of investment vehicle that pools money from many investors to invest in a variety of investment types. This can be an effective way to diversify your portfolio and save for the long term. In this article, we will explore the basics of mutual funds, their types, pros and cons, and how they can help you achieve your financial goals.
https://preview.redd.it/slhsy1kyyd0d1.png?width=1640&format=png&auto=webp&s=1f5114c896c74f947278c839011a32d950d4bd94
A mutual fund is an investment that pools your money with that of many other people who share similar investment goals. Professional money managers use this pool of money to buy securities that can help achieve the mutual fund's specified objectives. Mutual funds may be an appropriate retirement investment because they offer professional management and diversification. However, they are not FDIC insured and involve investment risks, including possible loss of principal and fluctuation in value.
Mutual funds can be categorized into several types, each with its own investment focus:
Equity (Stock) Funds: These funds invest in corporate stocks of publicly traded companies. They can be classified based on company size, industry, sector type, or growth and value potential.
Bond Funds: These consist of debt instruments issued by governments or corporations to raise capital. They often carry less risk than stock funds but may have lower growth potential.
Money Market Funds: These invest in cash or cash-equivalent short-term debt from entities like the government or corporations. They are generally considered low-risk investments.
Hybrid Funds: These funds are comprised of at least two or more asset classes, typically a blend of stocks and bonds. Balanced funds, which invest 60% in stocks and 40% in bonds, are a popular type of hybrid fund.
Investing in mutual funds comes with various advantages and disadvantages:
Pros:
Diversification: Mutual funds allow you to invest in a variety of stocks and bonds from different industries, reducing risk compared to individual securities.
Small Investment Amounts: You can start with smaller contributions that grow over time.
Professional Management: Mutual funds provide professional management, ongoing supervision, and automatic diversification.
Liquidity: Shares can be redeemed on any business day, providing liquidity, and the daily pricing ensures transparency.
Cons:
Potential for Loss: Mutual funds are not FDIC insured and may lose principal and fluctuate in value. Cost: Mutual funds may incur sales charges and high management fees. Tax Implications: Dividends, interest payments, and capital gains are generally taxable, even if reinvested.
When to Start Investing in Mutual Funds
The sooner you start investing in mutual funds, the longer your money can work for you. Regular investing can also make a positive difference over time through a concept known as dollar-cost averaging. This method helps reduce the risks of market timing by investing a fixed amount at regular intervals.
Basics of Investing in Mutual Funds
To start investing in mutual funds, follow these steps: Determine Your Goals: Identify your financial objectives. Evaluate Your Risk Tolerance: Assess how much risk you can handle. Select Suitable Funds: Choose funds that align with your goals and risk tolerance.
Review Prospectuses: Ensure the funds' investment objectives and risk levels match your needs. An Ameriprise financial advisor can help you evaluate your goals and select appropriate funds. Understanding a Mutual Fund’s Performance. To understand mutual fund performance, consider: Past Performance: Historical performance provides context but does not guarantee future results. Turnover Ratio: Indicates the value of a fund’s trades compared to its total assets. Higher turnover ratios may mean higher costs. Operating Fees and Expenses: Includes annual operating fees (expense ratio) and shareholder fees. Higher fees can reduce returns.
Here are some key terms related to mutual funds: Fund Share: Represents a portion of the securities owned by the fund.
NAV (Net Asset Value): The price per share of a mutual fund, calculated by dividing the total value of all securities in the fund's portfolio by the number of shares outstanding.
Total Return: A measure of a fund's performance, including reinvested dividends and capital appreciation. Why Should You Have a Diversified Portfolio? Diversification, or spreading your assets among various investments, can help mitigate risk and volatility. A diversified portfolio increases the chances of achieving long-term growth but does not guarantee a profit or prevent losses.
Mutual funds can be an effective investment option for achieving financial goals through diversification and professional management. However, they come with risks and costs that need to be considered. An Ameriprise financial advisor can help you determine if mutual funds are right for you and assist in selecting the appropriate funds to fit your needs.
If you are interested in a particular type of mutual fund, you can use the Mutual Fund Screener tool to search for it by name or ticker and view a complete list of mutual funds available at Ameriprise Financial.

2024.05.14 14:31 Frequent-Scheme7213 Moyes greatest hits

Just a personal list of my most memorable Moyes’ games since his reappointment in 2019. Telling that the majority of league matches come from the 2020-21 period, suggesting it’s probably the right time to change. Thanks David, you put the pride back into being a Hammers fan.
Hope others share their favourite games.
Premier League- 4th Oct 2020- Leicester 0- West Ham 3 First signs that Moyes’ counter attacking style could be effective and exciting as we shock a high-riding Leicester team. Antonio, Fornals and Bowen all on the scoresheet.
Premier League- 18th Oct 2020- Tottenham 3- West Ham 3 Optimism from the previous games start to fade as we flatline early to a three-goal deficit, are we back to the same old West Ham? An amazing turnaround capped by Lanzini’s wondrous injury-time equaliser shows Moyes’ has instilled a grit and perseverance we have been missing.
Premier League- 5th April 2021- Wolves 2- West Ham 3 Barnstorming first-half as we brutalise Wolves on the break and race into a three-goal lead. Moyes’ favoured style now supercharged with Lingard on board. The heady heights of 4th in the table, daring to dream of the Champions League.
Premier League- 23rd May 2021- West Ham 3- Southampton 0 Late-season defeats to Newcastle, Chelsea and Everton have killed the Champions League dream but joy abounds on the final day of the season as we clinch 6th and a Europa League spot. Pablito scores two quick first half-goals and a late Declan Rice solo effort seals the deal. Fans allowed back in the stadium after a season of playing in eerie emptiness; strangely we thrived!
Premier League- 7th November 2021- West Ham 3- Liverpool 2 This was Moyes’ peak in the league as our physical strength on set-pieces and lightning- fast breaks overcame a disgruntled Liverpool. We reach the heady heights of 3rd yet strangely it seemed to go downhill league-wise from here.
Europa League- 17th March 2022- West Ham 2 Sevilla 0 (AET) Moyes greatest result? Still feels a surreal night, a weird fever dream as we comfortably upset a Sevilla side who had made this competition their own. The atmosphere at the bowl is fervent, Soucek heads us level in the tie and Yarmolenko adds the scriptwriter's ending, scoring the winner and leaves the pitch with the Ukrainian flag. Russia had declared war on his country three weeks earlier. Lopetegui leaves defeated but with unfinished business in Stratford.
Europa League- 15th April 2022- Lyon 0 West Ham 3 Going into second-leg as underdogs , the Hammers produce a classic away performance to shock an overconfident French side and march into the semi-finals. Ballon D’Awson, Rice and Bowen with the goals and the high point in Moyes’ relationship with the fans as he is serenaded off the pitch.
Premier League- 16th April 2023- West Ham 2- Arsenal 2 Flickering signs of mongrel in the dying dog as the Hammers take offence to a showboating Gunners side two-up and high on hubris. Rice leads the press and Arsenal crumble under the pressure leaving their title challenge in tatters. The home fans ask why it took 30 games into the campaign to show this passion. Moyes' side have been too passive and meek all season.
Europa Conference League Final- 7th June 2023- Fiorentina 1 West Ham 2 Moyes and Bowen entrench themselves in Hammers folklore as a last-gasp winner seals our first trophy in 43 years. In truth, the match was emblematic of late-Moyes style as we grind our way unprettily through the game but who cares when the result is this joyous. Moyes gets a deserved first trophy of a long managerial career and in keeping with his old-school values hangs the medal round the neck of his elderly father.
Europa League - April 19th, 2024- West Ham 1 Bayer Leverkusen 1 The rage against the dying of the light as a first half of shock and awe rattles the all-conquering Leverkusen. Moyes’ side, desperate to stay in the competition, go for the jugular from the off and show the high-energy, front-foot style fans have been crying out for. We know the dream is dead when the half-time whistle goes, and we are only one -up. Predictably, the players can hardly run in the second half, lack of squad depth and indiscipline from key players have left us snookered. Fully expect to see the referee exposed as being ‘on the take’ in the next few years. That first half though, what might have been Davie?
