I'm making a game about the evolution of video games and I'm making all the songs for eraz 1 (world 1): NES/Master system to eraz 7 (world 7): Wii/Xbox 360/PS3 (including in-level music) in a beepbox mod, what mods are the best for this?

Dark Souls 2 probably bears the Souls series’ closest resemblance to Elden Ring. Design wise, both Dark Souls 2 and Elden Ring stressed open-ended gameplay and ditched linear progression.
Miyazaki agrees and in fact goes a step further. “In regards to Dark Souls 2, I actually personally think this was a really great project for us, and I think without it, we wouldn’t have had a lot of the connections and a lot of the ideas that went forward and carried the rest of the series. Like the latter, Miquella has the power to "compel affection" through the Bewitching Branch. St. Trina and Quella are associated with sleep, trees, and dreams. Miquella shares similarities with Quella, as both are associated with ethereal, dream-like entities like the Nascent Butterfly and White Ring,
Quella’s icon also depicts a boy with wings, which something similar we see Miquella have during Elden Ring’s intro cut scene.

This aligns with the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring), which depicts the snake, a manifestation of the god of desire, Zinder. The serpent is an imperfect dragon and symbol of the undead. Mesmer's ambition and willingness to embrace forbidden power mirrors the ring's representation of insatiable desire and the undying nature of the serpent.
Rykard from Elden Ring and Zandroe from Dark Souls share a striking similarity - they are both associated with serpents and the concept of greed. Zandroe is described as the "god of greed" whose manifestation and servant is the snake, while Rykard fed himself into a massive "god-devouring serpent" in his pursuit of immortality through devouring others, an act of ultimate greed.

The demigod general Radahn and Faraam like Nahr Alma, is a god of war from Dark Souls 2 are both associated with lions, a symbol of strength and ferocity in battle, representing their prowess as mighty warriors. Galib (I’ve seen it spelled “Calib”) from Dark Souls 2 and Malenia (who released her bloom in Caelid) both have a thematic connection to disease and affliction. Malenia and Miquella, both children of a single god, were afflicted with rot and eternal childhood respectively. Leydia apostles manipulated both the onset and curing of disease but were denied peaceful deaths, while Malenia's rot was an incurable sickness (as her army are undergoing their gradual, putrefaction of their flesh) that Miquella tried to ward off with unalloyed gold needles and her great rune provides healing after receiving damage.
Coincidentally Malenia can grow wings as well.

Caffrey's icon mirrors the currency and EXP icon from Dark Souls 2, representing experience points gained by defeating enemies. In a similar vein, Godfrey is portrayed as the lord of the battlefield, who bravely battled Giants, confronted the Storm Lord and had countless victories, ushering in the Age of the Erdtree which was forged through the use of valuables like Smithing Stones [8], becoming the embodiment of Order. This left a long legacy of loyal warriors honored him by wielding axes like himself.

Gamer here - supposed to be going to Al Udeid in the near future. Last time I deployed was back in 2008-2009 when reliable WiFi was virtually non existent - I had the og PSP when it was pretty new and my laptop.
I’m not interested in bringing my entire gaming rig over there so I was considering getting a handheld (lenovo legion go, steam deck etc.) or a dedicated gaming laptop.
How’s the WiFi on base for gaming now? What consoles/devices have you guys been using to game down range these days?

I just realized how long this is haha.. if you don't want to read all this, just go by the damn tile haha... I just got through gongaga... I'm a long time ff7 fan. Bought a ps1 with ff7 in 1997-98 when i was eight... didn't have a memory card so I played through Midgar probably ten times before I bought one so I didn't get remake until the 2 for one rebirth pre-order deal so I've been playing a couple hours a day through them and have been avoiding any spoiler changes from the original but I keep seeing comments on X like 'fire the person that designed gongaga!' and gaming articles talking about how much they hate it... I thought it was kind of cool. Changing it up from junon or grasslands. I can see the mushrooms being annoying since you don't know how far it will take you but I went into that area thinking 'now I'm gonna have to deal with lots of unpredictable mushrooms...' but there weren't as many as I figured from all the hate and I could always fast travel back it to somewhere roughly where i was when they bounces me way too far... and, im not the best gamer... i often get hopelessly lost in simple areas... kalm fucked with me haha... maybe people get burnt out with "open world fatigue" and, since I only play 4 hours a day max, I don't really notice it compared to the hard-core gamers. I'm not a trophy hunter or completionist but I do probably 90% of the activities and come back to do things I didn't later... any way, sorry for the super fuckin long rant, I just have lots of love for the original and so far I'm really enjoying the remakes and my other ff friends either haven't gotten rebirth yet or aren't as far and are really strict about making sure i don't spoil things haha... but why is gongaga so hated? It may not be everyone's favorite and, hey, that's cool... but personally. I don't think it's "bad level design" like I've heard thrown around. I don't want to argue or say 'you don't get it if you don't like it' or some pretentious shit like I've heard, I just want to know what particularly about it makes it so maligned?

So recently I’ve been craving a new platformer and after being disappointed by Sackboy’s Big Adventure I decided to pick this up. Sackboy is absolutely beautiful but I felt the controls and gameplay were lackluster. Marsupalima on the other hand had me smiling from the second I started playing. Controls are pivotal to platformers and this game controls like a dream. Jumping and dashing throughout the stages are so much fun. This game also loooks gorgeous with vibrant colors and upbeat music that immerses you into the world. Marsupalima is adorable and coming across platformers these days are rare so I highly recommend you check this game out!

For those unaware, there is a strange Egg Sac lookin thing atop the water tower in the MacMillan Estate realm. I made a post about it a while ago if you need more information:

A brief summary is that it appeared on one map all small and closed, sometime before Halloween, and started growing with each subsequent chapter, and also changing in color. During Halloween, one of the lore snippets shows someone climbing the tower and whacking it to release the haunts. However, after that, it continued to "bloom" with each subsequent chapter until around Alien release, then Entity-like Spider legs came out of it, and THEN it started spreading to other MacMillan Maps one at a time. With the latest PTB, it is now spewing some blue magic-y fairy-light lookin Mystical nonsense.
Most people are assuming that this is a teaser for a killer. It is all but confirmed that DnD is the anniversary chapter, and it's almost certain that Vecna will be the killer, and most people think it has something to do with him. And this is definitely possible given that the Halloween Event void realm mechanic was a lot like Vecna's abilities in Stranger Things, plus he's a Necromancer and the haunts are basically undead, and that one of his monikers is the Master of the Spider Throne and the Spider legs coming out of the sac.
However, I don't believe this is the case; I theorize that this is completely separate from Vecna/DND. I think this is a lot bigger than that. Someone playing from the beginning can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe they've ever teased a single killechapter for so many months as well as having an actual in-game huge visual. The closest would be that Blight was mentioned in lore before he was released, but even that was just in the archives, not in an actual map.
One of the last anniversary teasers before tomorrow says this:
"...Uhm, and then, we're also going to be talking about the expansion of the DbD universe. I'm not just talking about The Casting of Frank Stone..."
The full vid is pinned on this sub. But anyways, my guess is that the sac has something to do with that. If they're expanding the DBD universe besides the Frank Stone game, that could mean either another game like DBD 2: Even The Daylight Is Dead or another spin-off, a movie, a show, etc. And what better way to expand it than with a huge reveal? I think the Egg sac will eventually hatch completely, and it will be a child of the Entity, or the Entity itself "reborn", or a physical manifestation of the Entity in an Avatar of some sort, idk, but SOMETHING that will make it so the original Entity will still be the eldritch deity in charge of the base game, but this "other" Entity-kin will be the big bad of the new game/game mode/movie/whatever.
If it's a new game altogether, maybe it is the Spawn of the Entity, and the story of the Hand is Mama Entity sets her kid up with its own version of the trials so it can start learning how to devour worlds, but it has a different preference so the game is PVE or single player or something. If it's a movie, maybe this is the Entity born into a killable form so that at the end, the survivors can destroy this form and escape. If it's a new permanent game mode, maybe this is just a thing like the occasional Blight seasons and this one somehow changes the realm as we know it, like how Fork Knife changes its map every so often with a cataclysmic Event.

Apologies in advance if dream rosters get posted a lot, which I expect they do. But I still wanted to try and make my own roster for funsies. I only gave myself a base roster of 36 characters, which seemed reasonable for a team based vs title. These 60,70,80 character dream rosters people come up with are a little crazy to me because like... obviously you'll get everyone you want. But that many wont happen. The reality is it's impossible to please everyone, so I like to taper down the amount of characters I'm allowed to play with.
I wanted to make what I thought was a pretty realistic roster, with only a little of my own personal biases here. Magik is my big bias I allowed myself to include. I'd kill for Magik in an MvC game since she's one of my favorite comic characters, but hey we got X-23 in MvC3, so you never know. Sometimes they go for deeper cuts.
So while I know I can't please everyone, I'm curious how many people would be satisfied with a roster like this? Am I missing anyone incredibly major who NEEDS to be in a Marvel game? I did include some fantasy DLC seasons, assuming we live in a dream world where a new MvC would actually see long term support.

My nose would grow long if I said I wasn't a huge fan of the soulslike genre, having played Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring and even some souls-inspired games like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous. If you were to ask me what I enjoy in these games, it's most definitely the detail presented in the world and it's characters. I thoroughly enjoy difficult boss battles, for which a few glimpses into Lies of P indicates I will surely get plenty of.
The classic tale of Pinocchio is retold in a twisted and corrupt world, where I look forward to uncovering the dichotomy of puppets and humanity. I've spent countless hours in these kinds of stories, and am drawn to the gothic style of Krat, the derelict and haunting streets invoke a sense of mystery and allure rarely seen in a lot of games.
As I am currently a student, I am not able to buy this game myself, and where I currently live, the price is quite high. If I am gifted, I am sure to thoroughly enjoy this game as it seems to hit all the marks for a beautiful story with challenging fights, right up my alley!

Since smugglers copter was unbanned and did pretty much nothing to the format, I wanted to revisit the banlist after today's "No changes".
Cards that are absolutely too good and need to stay banned in pioneer:

• Fetchlands - Lack of fetches defines the format
• Field of the dead - Way too much value on a land, zero commitment win con.
• Veil of summer - Busted
• Once upon a time - Busted
• Karn, the great creator - Too good at making your deck a toolbox, also too easily screws over random decks with the first ability.
• Wilderness Reclamation - too easily lets you double your mana
• Oko - LOL
• Teferi, Time raveler - Breaks the game.
• Lurrus - Busted in half

T4 win combo enablers (Pioneer seems to have a rule about combo decks not being allowed to win before T5 OR the combo needs to require 3 or more pieces. These cards break the T4 combo rule and should stay banned)

Cards with synergies that are too strong:

• Leyline of abundance - Either this card or Nykthos should be banned. This is the better choice.

• Nexus of fate - The format's power level has increased dramatically since this was banned. I think its safe for this 7 mana card to come off.
• Inverter of Truth. - This card enables a T5 Combo win which seems to be fine in the days of amalia and Quintorius... It would be even safer if it came unbanned along with a Thoracle ban, Making the T5 win much less consistent.
• Expressive iteration. - I could see it being unbanned alongside a treasure cruise ban (Which will need to happen eventually IMO). Phoenix would just play this instead of cruise and move on with life. Having quick study and the two mana draw 2 investigate, make this card seem fine now.
• Uro - Midrange decks with blue and green in them have almost nothing going for them now. Powercreep has just about cought up to this card and I think it would be fine to unban. Remove and GY hate have also greatly increased in effectivness since this was banned.

Cards that should be considered for a ban

• All other companions - If they can ban stickers for being too annoying, they should do the same with companions. They should have all been banned in all formats when lurrus was banned.
