I finished my first playthrough last night and had a really great time, but I feel like I missed about 90% of the game's content.
It's not that I wasn't trying to engage with the game, I spent about 30 hours on my first playthrough and did almost all of the side quests that were offered to me, but when I see people talking about their favorite missions/characters, I almost never have any idea what they're talking about.
I recruited every companion I came across, but most of them didn't have much to say while I was traveling with them. I understand they're supposed to have their own quests, but I think the only quest that came up for me was Cass's. I spent a solid week with Boone killing Legion, but he never said a word to me past his initial dialogue tree. I had ED-E by my side for even longer and its quest never went past the first audio log. I saved Raul and recruited Arcade Gannon but they didn't have any quests for me. I ran with Lilly for a while but she didn't have much to say after her initial quest either. Before I knew it I was at Hoover Dam, and the slideshow afterwards felt very, very incomplete.
Without guides and without just wandering aimlessly through the desert, what should I do in my 2nd playthrough to make sure I see more companion quests / side quests in general? I feel like I talked to everyone in each location and did every quest that showed up in my log, but I still missed over half of the game.

Tokyo 4n > Magome-juku (Nakasendo) 1n > Matsumoto 1n (Alpine Route) > Kanazawa 2n > Kyoto 5n (Nara, Himeji) > Okayama 2n (Naoshima, Kurashiki) > Hiroshima 2n (Miyajima) > Osaka 1n > Koyasan 1n > Narita 1n.
As I loved reading these during my preparations I am happy to share this long report about our experiences. We are from Europe and in our twenties. We are quite fast paced with 10 hotels during 3 weeks as we treated it as a once in a lifetime trip, but we relaxed at our hotel most of the evenings and didn't wake up too early (except for the Alpine Route). We focused on visiting temples and shrines, castles, gardens, (modern) art, and doing short hikes. The last few days overlapped with Golden Week. I'd recommend any spot we visited, but some highlights included the Alpine Route, any place where we did short hikes to see temples or villages (Kamakura, Nakasendo, Kurama/Kibune from Kyoto, Miyajima), Koyasan shukubo, and the Naoshima museum island. See the long description below, happy to answer any questions!
Leg 1: Tokyo
I think we had a fairly standard 1st time itinerary but we enjoyed it a lot! We failed to get Ghibli tickets but in hindsight we needed our time in Tokyo for the other sights anyway. Stayed at CITAN hostel where we enjoyed the specialty coffee to ease our jetlagged mornings.
Day 1 - Arrival, Asakusa/Ueno
Arrived at Narita at 10:00AM. Arrived in hostel after buying Pasmo Pasport card (requires cash which you can get at the 7/11 ATM) at 14:00. Had no sleep but excitement carried us through the day. Quick shower and went sightseeing at 15:00 (standard itinerary around Asakusa/Senso-ji > Sumida Park > Ueno Park) and had an early night. Cherry blossoms were still blooming due to the cold so the parks were wonderful, seeing a bustling temple for the first time very impressive as a European in Asia for the first time, and loved all the food stalls and people at the Ueno Park illuminations. Bought a goshuincho at Senso-ji to collect goshuin, which I enjoyed a lot while visiting many temples in the next days.
Day 2 - Shibuya/Harajuku/Shinjuku
We walked all the way from South to North along Shibuya crossing, with a short shopping visit to Loft, then the Ota Memorial Museum of Art (small but beautiful ukiyo-e museum), the Meiji Shrine (very peaceful among the trees), Shinjuku Gyoen (beautiful garden and we loved it with cherry blossoms especially), then Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for the free views at sunset (had to queue for a bit) and walked through Shinjuku including Omoide Yokocho on our way to dinner and then home.
Day 3 - Central Tokyo, Odaiba, Roppongi
Visited Sengakuji, which is an interesting historic place with the 47 ronin graves. We burned incense and copied a sutra here. Then took the monorail to Odaiba just to enjoy the view, had konbini lunch at the beach, took the monorail back, quick stop at the Ghibli clock while switching trains, and walked past Zojo-ji and Tokyo Tower to visit TeamLab Borderless at 16:00. Especially the smaller rooms were beautiful and I loved drawing my own fish to see it appear on the walls. Abdij It was a nice and unique experience and fun to explore at our own pace.
Day 4 - Kamakura
We started a bit late bc of remaining jetlag and making our Golden Week train reservations as well as some struggles picking up our JR pass for the Alps at Tokyo Station. Kamakura was crowded but lovely because of spring matsuri at the shrine. Visited Komachi dori shopping street and had taiyaki, went to Tsurugaoka Hachiman shrine where many people attended the matsuri, walked to Daibutsu walking course via Jufuku-ji/Genjiyama park (bit of a search but worthwhile!), visited the interesting Zeniarai Benten (money washing) shrine, of course saw the large Daibutsu which was very impressive and finally visited the beautiful Hasedera with its nice gardens and many interesting sights in its many halls. One of my favourite days, the sun was shining, the hike was peaceful, and all four temples and shrines were stunning and very different and interesting. Would have loved to also see some of the temples in the north and to have gone to Enoshima.
"Japanese Alps" leg
We got the Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto pass from JR West, picked up at Tokyo JR Central. I am not sure it paid off without using all 5 days of travel (it would have covered Takayama) but it guaranteed access to the Alpine Route when we had missed its presale.
Day 5 - Nakasendo
Early Shinkansen to Nagoya, then local train and bus to Magome where we stayed overnight at Magomechaya. We took the 13:30+- bus to Tsumago then walked back so we wouldn't have to rush for the last bus. We were too late for the tea house but had plenty of time for the hike. Quite some European tourists here. The walk was scenic and lovely, both the nature including two waterfalls and the post towns looked beautiful like a journey back in time, and staying overnight we got to see Magome with hardly any people around. Enjoyed the traditional stay, sleeping on futon beds for the first time with dinner and breakfast included. Overall one of the highlights of the trip. Check the bus times in advance of your trip and bring cash.
Day 6 - Matsumoto
After breakfast and coffee in Magome we took the bus and train to Matsumoto, where we climbed the beautiful original castle (highly recommended) and then went to the local art museum for its Yayoi Kusama part (small but enjoyable and quiet for a place showing her work, including one infinity room and a yellow pumpkin). Very walkable and welcoming city with cherry blossoms at full bloom and ongoing castle illuminations and hardly any tourists crowds. Had dinner at a nice izakaya, used the hotel bath, and forwarded our luggage to the hotel in Kanazawa from here.
Day 7 - Alpine Route
Took the first train at 05:56 from Matsumoto to Shinanoomachi to start Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route that opened two days before from the Ogizawa side. We were very stressed about securing tickets but managed to exchange tickets for the 08:00 departure from Ogizawa with our specific regional JR Pass. Wonderful day, enjoyed seeing the Kurobe dam, the views from all stops, and walking along the snow wall. Crowded with mostly domestic and a lot of Asian tourists, but as it is so well organized the crowds are no problem at all. This was our most expensive activity but it was worth it. I would also love to see it with fall colours or be able to hike in summer. Arrived at the end around 15:00 sleepy and happy, then on to Kanazawa for a short evening walk, dinner, and sleep.
Day 8 - Kanazawa
Walked all day through Kanazawa: Nagamachi district with the small enjoyable Shinise Memorial Hall, Oyama Shrine, Castle park where we went to the tea house, the beautiful Kenrouken garden with Seikankaku villa, Kazue and Higashi Chaya districts, obscure temple walk uphill with many quiet temples and hardly any passerbys, bus back to Nagamachi district, walked through Nishi Chaya district at night. Again a very friendly and welcoming city that is not crowded at all, the historic districts were beautiful and we loved the garden. Kenrouken really feels like you are exploring and stumbling upon new beautiful sights all the time and the villa was worth it too. I would have loved to visit the Nomura-ke samurai house as well as the DT Suzuki museum too but we only had one day. We also brought some of our nicest souvenirs here.
Leg 3: Kyoto
Kyoto was not what I expected in some way, but I still loved it. We were not at all prone to temples fatigue and visited +-20 temples and shrines which we personally enjoyed a lot but also did some more quiet half-day trips and walked some random residential areas.
Day 9 - Gion/South Higashiyama
Morning shinkansen to Kyoto. Walked through Pontocho, Gion, visit to Kennin-ji (only one hall opened unfortunately, but we could see the dragon painting on the ceiling), via Ishibei-koji lane and Ninnenzaka/Sannenzaka to visit Kiyomizudera (16-17h, very crowded at 15h but got better over time, beautiful with golden hour). After dinner visited illuminations at Kodai-ji and Entoku-in (where we were the only visitors!) and Yasaka shrine. I was a bit overwhelmed with the crowds, the heat, and queueing for dinner, so this was not my favourite day, but the night walk helped me relax again.
Day 10 - Kurama/Kibune and North Higashiyama
Half-day trip for walk from Kibune and Kifune shrine to Kuramadera with lunch in Kurama. Very calm and beautiful, absolutely loved it, everyone walking there greeted us and chatted with us as we spotted some deer, and the approach to the temple and shrine are stunning. We also had a great vegetarian buddhist meal in Kurama just after descending. Then train back to Demachiyanagi, walk to Ginkaku-ji (beautiful moss garden), Philosopher's Path and Nanzen-ji (arrived just in time to enter hojo and see the zen gardens here at 16:29 by following a speed walking Japanese couple to the reception, unfortunately no time to enter other buildings but we did walk around the grounds for a bit after with the aquaduct, gate, some temple hall exteriors, etc.). All in all a wonderful day, but I would have liked more time at Nanzen-ji. People who start early in the morning or take taxi/bus instead of walking to Ginkaku-ji might be able to see additional temples. Walked past the torii of Heian shrine on our way home and got lovely confectionaries from a bakery.
Day 11 - Nara
Rainy day when we did a day trip to Nara with the cute purple Aoniyoshi limited express train (booked in advance). Very impressed by visiting the daibutsu at Todai-ji, the view from Nigatsudo, Kasuga Taisha (very special) and liked walked between the deer in the park. The colours and rain were quite athmospheric and there weren't many tourists in the park. We didn't enter Kofukuji, there was a lot of maintenance/building going on. We went to some vintage stores and department stores in central Kyoto at night.
Day 12 - North and Arashiyama
Kinkaku-ji at opening (already crowded but still worth seeing this famous sight), then Ryoan-ji (absolutely loved the zen garden! Had heard stories about it as a kid so the anticipation was high). We took the Randen tram to Arashiyama, saw the bridge and had a wonderful lunch at the Shigetsu restaurant at Tenryu-in (delicious if you are looking for vegetarian options), then walked through bamboo forest simply because we were there. Bus uphill to Otagi Nenbutsu-ji (funny and happy place with all the unique statues) and walked down via Adachino Nenbutsu-ji (more sad and meaningful experience) through Saga preserved street. Enjoyed the peace and quiet here.
Day 13 - Sanjusangendo, Uji and Fushimi Inari
Sanjusangendo in the morning (very impressive with 1001 Kannon). Then half-day trip to Uji to see Byodo-in, enjoy matcha soba noodles for lunch and an accessible and nice tea ceremony at Tea House Taihoan, crossed the river and walked back to the station, making for a relaxed half-day trip. We did Fushimi Inari at the end of the afternoon, with hike until the terrace with the nice views. It wasn't too busy, perhaps because of the time and the rainy weather.
Leg 4: Himeji/Okayama/Hiroshima
This stretch had several highlights of the trip, including Himeji-jo, the Naoshima museums, Peace Memorial Museum and Miyajima.
Day 14 - Himeji and Okayama
Himeji - We stored our luggage close to the station and walked to the castle. We didn't plan to enter as we thought it would be busy and had already visited Matsumoto Castle. However, it was very quiet with no lines at all so we did go in. I would highly recommend this castle. Its history, its size and the presence of the adjoining buildings make it very impressive. We didn't go to the gardens as we'd go to Okayama next.
Okayama - Visited Korakuen. Beautiful but completely different from Kenrouken because of its open layout with lawns. Both are stunning but myself I slightly preferred the garden in Kanazawa as the less open layout allowed for more exploring without having seen whats next. They also have cranes here. Also visited the Okayama castle, which had some history expositions on the battle of Sekigahara - of course this could not live up to Himeji. Non-Japanese speakers can read translations of the information on their phone. Okay but absolutely no must see. Had dinner at a nice tofu place.
Day 15 - Naoshima
Daytripped to Naoshima and absolutely loved everything about it. Felt like we were in the Mediterranean, the island is stunning, views of Seto inland sea are stunning and the architecture and art are wonderful. We took the train to Uno, then the ferry arriving at 09:22 and we took the bus and ferry back from Honmura after the art houses closed at 16:30. We had reservations at Chichu Art Museum at 10:30 (when we arrived others without reservation could not get in) and Time Corridors at 14:00. These two also were our favourites out of the museums (also visited Benesse House + Valley Gallery and Lee Ufan museum). We mostly walked which was enjoyable (although already hot in spring) but I'd recommend bicycle rental. We only had a limited time left to visit the Art House Project, visited 3 and 1 from the outside. Minamidera was a special experience. If budget/time is not an issue I would certainly overnight here to also see the onsen, have sufficient time for the Art House Project, and perhaps go to Teshima, but also as a daytrip it is absolutely worth it. Must visit if you like modern art.
Day 16 (Friday before Golden Week) - Kurashiki and Hiroshima
In the morning, we wandered around the Bikan historic distright in Kurashiki and bought some bizen ceramics here. The western art museum here is apparently very nice but after seeing all of Naoshima the day before we didn't feel like entering. Enjoyable for a short visit but I wouldn't make a large detour for it. In the afternoon we took the Shinkansen to Hiroshima. We first saw the Peace Memorial Park then entered the museum with audio tour at 16:30. This was a very impressive museum that had a profound impact on us. We spent more time than most people based on what I read online, as we were in there until closing time at 19 and we hadn't even listened all audio tour recordings in the second part of the museum. Highly recommended to experience this important and harrowing part of world history. It shows the personal stories of victims as well as the scale of suffering as a result of this bombing. People around us were overall quiet and respectful, it was not too busy (perhaps due to our visit timing extending into the reservations-only period), a few people were visibly emotional. We walked around the Memorial Park again at dark and had some comfort food.
Day 17 (Golden Week Saturday) - Miyajima
We did a very enjoyable day trip to Miyajima with the (more expensive) direct ferry from Peace Park departing at 08:30 returning with the regular JR Ferry and train around 18:00. Although it was the first Saturday of Golden Week I'd say crowds were okay and we didn't need to queue more than 5 mins for the ropeway. When we arrived we saw Itsukushima jinja and the torii with high tide, saw its treasure hall and Senjokaku, and had lunch/snacks (momiji!) in the area. We then went up Mt Misen by cable car, hiked the small distance to the top and then hiked down to the very worthwhile Daisho-in with an adjacent cafe. The hike is very enjoyable as you pass many sights and have beautiful views over the Seto inland sea, although we were happy to skip the hike up. Around 17:30 we saw the torii again at low tide. This day was one of our favourites, we enjoyed the beautiful nature, culture and history, and everything is very well-organized and easy to find, as it was everywhere in tourist-frequented areas. I'd really recommend a full day here rather than a half day in many people's itineraries if you like to hike and would like to see more than the torii.
Leg 5: Osaka/Koyasan
Day 18 (Golden Week Sunday) - Osaka
We had a slow morning with some specialty coffee and took a shinkansen to Osaka. Having seen our fair share of temples, castles and museums, we spent our half-day in Osaka just exploring the Namba/Minami streets including Dotonbori, Amerika-Mura and Hozenji Yokocho without visiting any major sights. Had fun people watching especially in Amerika-Mura. Nice change of pace. For us, one night was enough.
Day 19 (Golden Week Showa holiday 29 april)
We stored our luggage in a coin locker (plenty available at Namba underground station) and travelled to Koyasan in the morning. Bought the Koyasan World Heritage ticket including return trip and unlimited bus travel as well as some discounts, this requires internet connection of you want to use the digital ticket to load QR codes. Our travel wonderfully and accidentally coincided with the anniversary of Kobo Daishis entry into eternal meditation so we saw many pilgrims, flowers at the temple, and a procession. We visited Okunoin twice, at day time (all halls are open and can be entered) and at night time (special atmosphere, we didn't do the tour but walked by ourselves). In the afternoon we visited the Garan temple complex and Kongobu-ji temple. To see all these sights comfortably you really need a full day, also considering dinner time and curfew at the temple stays. We stayed at a smaller temple (Daien-in) including both meals and with attendance of the morning prayers. Perhaps because of the anniversary ceremonies we were a minority as Western tourists among domestic worshippers at the temples and the place truly felt spiritual and meaningful to me, almost to the point where we felt a bit intrusive as non-buddhist tourists despite our efforts to visit respectfully. Were very impressed by our visit, highly memorable.
Day 20 - Travel
After morning prayers and visiting the Tokugawa clan mausoleums in Koyasan, we travelled back to Narita, with lunch at a nice soba place outside Osaka Namba station and dinner at Tokyo Station. Overnight before early morning transfer to the airport.
General comments
Food: we eat vegetarian and mostly plant-based at home, but decided to be relaxed about it here, eating milk and eggs as well as dashi/stock. Still, using Happy Cow we could find vegetarian or vegan dinner options almost everywhere, e.g. nice shoyin ryori places, tofu restaurants, izakaya with vegetarian options, vegan ramen places, Indian restaurants, and the occasional Coco Curry or Mos Burger, and we were content with basic onigiri and inarizushi for lunch. Many vegan ramen places with high scores on Happy Cow were pretty much 100% targeted at foreign tourists with corresponding price range, fully vegan places more directed at locals seemed to serve either buddhist cuisine or vegetable dishes that were not specifically Japanese.
Travel: So easy to navigate. Maps, signs, lots of English and tourist information on the streets, public transport is delightful and so well organized I found it similar or maybe even easier compared to European countries where I do not speak the language. People working in tourism are highly service-oriented so you will always be treated politely, and people really made an effort to help us more than at other touristic places I have been to. Learning 4-5 basic words is helpful and appreciated. All hotel experiences were okay to good. We prebooked the Golden Week shinkansen tickets in our first days at Tokyo Station.
Packing: For clothing: bring layers! We have experienced up to 28 degrees by the end of April and it felt warm and summery already at 22/23 coming from Northern Europe. However, rainy days as well as mornings and evenings could be fresh, and of course the snow wall at the Alpine Route requires a warm coat. If you have standard hotels many amenities will be provided and you'll have to bring hardly anything. My electric toothbrush charger would not work on the voltage here. Wore comfortable sneakers with an average of walking 14-15km a day.
Goshuin: Do not forget to seperate goshuin from stamps you might find at tourist sites, even the regular free stamps provided at temples. It is a religious practice and temples may not want to provide you with goshuin if you do not treat them with respect.

I've wanted to start writing this since November of last year. Yes, it's been that long. I got sidetracked with the Going Viral miniseries and the fact that I'm finishing the Fantasy High Universe, but I'm finally at the point where I feel I can start this! The inspiration itself wasn't anything crazy. I just remember seeing a bunch of living weapon audios/scripts and I thought that was an oddly specific scenario. And then one of those scenarios popped into my head. Isn't it weird how our minds work?
I plan is for this series to be 4 or 5 parts long. Originally it was 3 or 4, but then I realized I couldn't fit everything into just 3 scripts. (And weirdly enough since I call my scripts with 2-4 parts miniseries and scripts with 5+ parts series, I don't even know if this is a miniseries or a full series yet. Guess we'll find out together!) DISLIKE:
CROSSHAIR - Omg people, just put the option to remove it. It’s already too wide to shoot properly, you don’t even need it. - At least they removed hit markers, which drove me nuts in Black Ops II.
SPANISH ACCENTS - Cmon, I thought that after the total Russian gibberish of Black Ops they would’ve learned. - How can you say those words with a straight face and expect people to believe that you’re one of them. - Spanish people do not talk like that, it’s like a kid who’s trying to read a Spanish text in the classroom.
LIKE:
STORY - Masterpiece! Mission presentation is so cool. - The introduction to the game with Hesh, Logan and their Dad escaping the earthquake, crazy. The whole space mission was insane, visuals are on another level here! - The whole apocalypse world was a very good idea. Feels so cool all around, from abandoned buildings to vegetation everywhere! - Ghosts are a different breed. The way they move, kill, plan, attack, cooperate, give orders, my god, they seem like predators from another planet. The precision, quickness and brutality is maddening! - Love Riley’s little whines when people are near death or wounded. It makes me emotional and brings tears to my eyes! - This is the first game in the franchise that made me so emotional during firefights on different battlefields. The level of sound design, enemy variety, weapon diversity, visual fidelity, gameplay core mechanics, and world design made my eyes watering just from the reality the game channels. I’m sorry if I missed some scenes, the game is so immersive that at times I forgot to take screenshots. - The Ghosts initiation made me so surprised! I didn’t expect it to be this way, Elias “Scarecrow”? My god, this guy was with us on at least 3 journeys, I still remember his nickname. The whole son/father relationship and you becoming part of the REAL family, masterpiece! - The final mission with the train, the final command, shooting Rorke while piercing Hesh and the window, the flooding, and then the credits. Wait a minute, what just happened?
GAMEPLAY - Same mechanics as in the previous games with some new cool ideas. - Love the sprint sliding feature, makes combat way faster. Riley and the takedowns are awesome Controlling Riley like that is pure pleasure! These new mechanics bring something new to the table and I love it! - Slow motion parts are brought to another level here, it’s planed, thought of before engaging, plus Riley in the mix! - Underwater, ground, air, space, you name it, they achieved so many diverse core mechanics in this game, flabbergasting!
SOUND - Incredible 3D audio design. You should hear missile explosions, bloody cracked. You can feel the shockwave, earthquake sounds, shockwave pulse, debris sound effects, and much more! - You can hear the echo of Riley barking or gunshots, this little detail makes you appreciate the gaming industry even more! - Sniper rifle sounds are electrifying, are you joking, they sound like it’s coming from a canon! - Voice acting is phenomenal. I knew right from the moment I heard Merrick that it was Tommy from The Last of Us. My god, this game just got a thousand times better! - Sound effects vary depending on where you are. For example, in the building grenades will have an imploding sound effect while outside an exploding one, weapons have the same basic principle, but more diverse depending on which weapon you use. - The music is so dramatic and motivational. Heading into hellfire with the perfect music on is the right way to create such a game. Chaos only intensifies when you don’t have the right motivation, and music is right there with you to move you forward!
VISUALS - Flabbergasting! Insane visual fidelity! - Explosion blasts are very well made. The blast afterwards is a perfect copy of a real life explosion, so good! - Grenades explode in a different way based on where they land. In the dirt, there’s a cloud of smoke, on asphalt, there’s bits of concrete, in house, there’re bits of everything flying around. - Lightening is very good. Each part of the world is highlighted in an unique way and the visuals get a pump in quality. Based on where you’re, weapons have awesome effects with the right lightening on. - The game runs at a stable 60Fps without any drops. Texture details, field of view, density, depth, variables on screen, everything is perfect.
COMBAT - Same core as all the previous CODs. This one has the best gameplay and weapon shooting so far. It’s so simple, quick, beautiful and perfect. - Love the contextual lean, it makes combat way more enjoyable without you needing to press an additional button. - Weapon variety is plenty, from pistols to rocket launchers. So many different variations and so well made. Each weapon has awesome details, seems like you’re writing a real life weapon! - Weapon reloads are crazy good. Each one has a unique animation and honestly, whoever worked on that deserves a raise! - Stealth is as usual peak entertainment. It’s so good, and Riley adds to the immersion. His little whines when he’s close to enemies, as if he wants to rip them apart but can’t. He hides in the grass and blends with the environment. Hesh is so sneaky as well, and his commands are quick and precise, when he says Riley, you know shit’s about to get down! Firing underwater while sneaking upon enemies must be one of the coolest ideas I ever saw. The blinding flashlight? Man, this game expanded so much, these tactics feel so practical to real life events. - You can use Riley in combat by pressing L1. He always gets the target and the other enemies focus on him, which gives you a window to shoot them down! - You can use remote weapons and create diversions or full on assaults. They really did their homework on this game! - Love the gas grenades, which is a cool way to get enemies out of cover besides jumping them with Riley. And what’s even better, they finally implemented the red timer on the trigger, which is way better than counting seconds in the middle of madness! - Vehicle mobility is on another level. Flying the chopper and shooting everyone either with rockets or minigun is so satisfying. The tank is crazy, 50/60Mph, full on canon strikes, minigun at the ready, missile launchers, man, it’s like having a driving fortress! - Fighting in space, I’m amazed. Weapons floating around, enemy kills have different animations based on when you shoot them, the freedom of controls, visuals, my god, phenomenal. The only thing I wondered is why didn’t they have full on heavy armor on them? It’s not like gravity is an issue there.
WORLD DESIGN - Absolutely phenomenal. Right from the start you could see all the world shaking and every part of the land cracking beneath you. Super cool! - The mission with the dam breaking apart was insanity at its best. Are you kidding me, I’m astonished by the whole destruction, flooding, underwater stealth, synchrony, and much more details that I can’t recall. All that running on real time engine. I’m going to say it again: ARE YOU KIDDING ME? - The mission with the ropes hanging from the building was so James Bond like. The music, intensity, quickness, precision, just WOW. Que? Surprise motherfucker! The whole building cracking down, you could feel the cracking sounds, so realistic! - The plane crash mission followed by jungle stealth made me so tense. All alone, no one to help you with directions or what to do, and all those bugs just made the atmosphere a lot better. Hiding in the bushes and avoiding enemy sight while in the middle of the jungle with no direction, crazy good. - The underwater segment in the ice cold waters of Antarctica with the breaking ice. Following the mission with sharks and the submarine. The atmosphere around these missions are wonderful, starting with the stealth segment underwater and then escaping the falling submarine, kind of wished I was a fish back there, they were escaping so fast. I’m telling you boys, this game has wonderful ideas, I’m impressed! - World destruction is on another level, and by that I mean a whole different universe! - Atmosphere is phenomenal. From foggy environments, full on flooding, jungle camouflage, underwater world, destroyed battlefields, missile devastation, you name it, what an experience!

2024.04.28 14:49 Proof-Ad-3485 Completely borked my LOD trying to fix an issue with Lucky 38 lights redone and am totally lost at this point

So, I'd wanted to do another run of FNV after it'd been a few years and so I decided to follow the VNV guide to get my FNV up to modern scratch in terms of mods, moving over from FOMM to MO2 in the process.
Got that all set up and then proceeded to move across some other mods i'd used in the past, things still all good until I stumbled upon the lucky 38, with the "lucky 38 lights redone" lighting completely detached from the building itself and the lucky 38 only popping into existence when I was very close.
Got to work trying to fix the issue, following every forum in terms of suggested fixing, fucking around with my load order in every possible way, I'd read a suggestion saying to generate my own custom LOD, so I downloaded xLodGen and got to work following all of the steps that were listed here: https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/lod.html
I took the resulting mesh and textures output from that lodgen and made it into it's own mod in MO2.
Anyway, that failed to fix "Lucky 38 lights redone" and at that point i'd decided to just throw that heap of shit mod out, but generating my LOD has left my game looking like this:

PS1 environmental objects until I get very close to them, buildings that are half see through, schizophrenic mountain, terrain As I've so far read this may be an issue with my NMC and OJO BUENO texture packs, but I've also got mods related to LOD's for NMC that that should fix this, but clearly not, should I just get rid of my texture packs? I've so many LOD fixes and patches at this point, i've tried several times to regenerate my LOD tinkering with generation settings each time.

2024.04.28 14:26 Proof-Ad-3485 [FNV] Completely borked my LOD trying to fix an issue with Lucky 38 lights redone and am totally lost at this point

So, I'd wanted to do another run of FNV after it'd been a few years and so I decided to follow the VNV guide to get my FNV up to modern scratch in terms of mods, moving over from FOMM to MO2 in the process.
Got that all set up and then proceeded to move across some other mods i'd used in the past, things still all good until I stumbled upon the lucky 38, with the "lucky 38 lights redone" lighting completely detached from the building itself and the lucky 38 only popping into existence when I was very close.
Got to work trying to fix the issue, following every forum in terms of suggested fixing, fucking around with my load order in every possible way, I'd read a suggestion saying to generate my own custom LOD, so I downloaded xLodGen and got to work following all of the steps that were listed here: https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/lod.html
I took the resulting mesh and textures output from that lodgen and made it into it's own mod in MO2.
Anyway, that failed to fix "Lucky 38 lights redone" and at that point i'd decided to just throw that heap of shit mod out, but generating my LOD has left my game looking like this:
https://imgur.com/a/K5G9Nwa PS1 environmental objects until I get very close to them, buildings that are half see through, schizophrenic mountain, terrain As I've so far read this may be an issue with my NMC and OJO BUENO texture packs, but I've also got mods related to LOD's for NMC that that should fix this, but clearly not, should I just get rid of my texture packs? I've so many LOD fixes and patches at this point, i've tried several times to regenerate my LOD tinkering with generation settings each time.

2024.04.28 08:08 ImpressiveDrop9967 Is this show set in a Virtual Reality or Simulation?

I've been building a personal media server for myself and recently uploaded this series. The beginning of the first episode starts with narration from the great Bill Licking. When he says the line "A beaver dam, cozily nestled among the birch and pine of a wilderness." There is an obvious edit of the audio between "the pine of a" and "wilderness". It sounds like Mr. Licking was about to say a word that starts with the sound "vir".
This makes me wonder if he was going to originally say something along the lines of "A beaver dam, cozily nestled among the birch and pine of a virtual wilderness." If so, this would explain a lot of antics of the show. Things like how Dag and Norb are chosen for special projects, e.g. episode 3 where they are tasked with damming up two rivers, and just the general insane scenarios they find themselves in.
I have also heard that the orginal final episode was supposed to have the brothers find out they are actually a show and that they were being cancelled. This would add to the idea that this was all a simulation created to produce a cartoon.
I haven't rewatched the whole series to see if there are other instances that point in this direction.

the first verse "thine faeder laid bare. desiccated on the rocks by thy hand" is quite simple. referring to Boy at some point having to mortally wound Door. Desiccated is a bit curious as it would mean that Door had all his fluids removed so it is possible that Boy at some point is embraced and then feeds on Door.
the second verse " the abbot will know " is probably the abbot from the story of the tunnels which means they are quite old and powerful member of the Camerila. Alternatively, the abbot could be the spiritual leader of a sabbat pack which is also called an abbot. know of what is unclear but most certainly their existence which could be very bad.
the third verse " Of two one falls. One rises. Damnation. The third eye opens. His suet will feed and warm her gullet. The Abbot will know. " a much longer one and some interesting points. the first part of the verse " of two one falls. one rises" could draw back to the earlier point of Boy becoming a vampire as a little later in the verse " The third eye opens " could refer to Kevin achieving Golconda. another point is the abbot which is referred to as her. while not narrowing things down a lot would give credence to the person at the end of episode 1 being the abbot. the transition from " the third eye opens " to " his suet will feed and warm her gullet " makes me believe that upon achieving Golconda Kevin dies. potentially achieving Golconda due to the act which ultimately ends his life. damnation could simply be referring to the latter half of the verse where the person in question is dammed due to their third eye opening. - a bit of a later addendum but an ancient vampire clan which was the first to learn of Golconda possesses a literal third eye on their forehead. The "third eye" could be an allusion to the clan and saying that kevin becomes one of them in spirit since.
the fourth verse " the patriarch in mastering luna, ends hamstrung. He will wish death upon his flesh... but no mercy shall be given fore none he hath gave " this one could mean quiet a few things. the patriarch is potentially that of the family but could be a person we have not yet met which is what I am leaning towards. the two which could be considered patriarchs in the family could be Door or big D but neither seem to care much for the moon. Door is more likely then Big D as he has shown no mercy for Vampires while Big D seems to treat Kevin as a victim and shows empathy towards him. However, Door's fate seems to be death at Boy's hands. There is the allusion towards 40k if Big D were to be crippled but that also seems unlikely due to the story not relying on callbacks to 40k much beyond names and the characterization that was made by Alfabusa and crew for TTS.
the fifth verse " the rising 3 shall signal wars end. Woe and triumph. The abbot, will know " the rising 3 could be the three versions of the end times for the three alternate sourcebooks for the setting with the ascension, apocalypse, and gehenna which would be... bad. alternatively, it could be the rising of the 3 or the third generation vampires which would mean that Caine is on his way. this could result in the different factions banding together to try and prevent Caine from rising or stopping him if he does. "Woe and triumph" is probably just saying there will be both victory and defeat so the end result will be messy for every side involved. "The abbot will know" is unclear what it is referring to. it could be referring to having information about the 3 or knowing that some end time is coming but it's not clear. the only clear thing is that bad stuff is on its way and it will be a messy fight.
the sixth verse " From them... Bloodshed. Armageddon for all. Kine, Kindred, Garou, Milking, Elohim. In the light. they all will- " this one is very interesting in many ways. first, it reveals a bit about Horse's nature. firstly the term Milkling is a slur for Changelings and seemingly an old one at that. Next Elohim is the term for Angles which almost none exist in the world in the world of darkness which means that Armageddon is going to be very very big as it implies it will be able to spill into the realm of God and do damage. however, beyond that, it doesn't say much that couldn't be inferred otherwise. at the end Door cuts it off but it seems to be that they will all perish but that is speculation.
in summary, the interpretation that I have come to is as follows: over time the family draws the eye of either the Sabbat or Camarila as they do the end times approach. Big D slowly manages to turn Kevin Human again. Eventually, they are confronted by the abbot who, potentially seeing Boy's prophetic gift turns Boy into a vampire. Door who may have been heavily injured in the confrontation with the abbot is killed by Boy after Boy had been Bloodbound by the Abbot because the abbot might just want to be cruel. Kevin finally achieves Golconda and manages to allow the rest of the family to escape but is killed by the abbot. I think there is some information we are missing and the Identity of the Patriarch will be revealed in time with them probably being a werewolf. the fate of Kitten and Marcus are unknown but they will likely survive.

using information from Episode 4 we seem to be dealing with verse 4 "the patriarch". Blacklaw, the character who has seemed to fit the title of patriarch is also quite ruthless and has claimed to be able to kill multiple werebeasts. as it stands the werewolf theory seems to hold a lot of weight due to the series providing a lot of very clear information about them. it sets them up in a way that we haven't for vampires. that and the **MANY** signs that a werewolf is present in the chapterhouse, from the claw marks, to Vernon. we have the werewolves build up already from the audio logs we know vaguely what they are with the information provided by the series. odds are high that there is a werewolf. so we have a patriarch and the soldier of Gaia, empowered by a pact with Luna. perhaps in Blacklaw's persecution of the ghoul he will not be able to overcome the werewolf and be crippled.
as for the ghoul... the narrative direction is much like QosmicVoid said in his video. Grimmal, she has had her character built up a lot more than the rest of the supporting cast. usually you only give someone as much character as Grimmal when you are A: about to kill them so you build up emotional connection, or B: have more planned for them.

It's been a while since I've written a sleep aid, but I didn't want it to be just another "cuddling your partner in bed" type audio. Not that those are bad, there's just a lot of them. But a zombie apocalypse sleep aid? That's less common. And so this script was born!
I remember seeing a post a while back on ASMRScriptHaven mentioning how a lot of audios imply that the listener is white with things like the speaker mentioning the listener's red blush. Myself, being a white person who grew up in a very white area, didn't even realize that would be a skin color thing. So I've tried to be more inclusive in my scripts, especially since I want them to have a wide potential audience. But for this script in particular, I thought it was fun to reverse that trope. Instead of a line implying the listener is white, a line implying that the listener is black or brown. Hopefully this little line can help you all feel more included in the ASMR space. 2024.04.25 07:21 passaroach35 Hybrid dj set up audio routing conundrum?

So how does one go about using ableton link with rekordbox & also record everything that's going on into ableton.
So ddj Rx is running rekordbox for live track mixing , with ableton audio out from a xone k2 into channel 4 of the ddj rx. Now the condundrum is how the F do I get sound back into ableton because the K2 has no input back in but ableton link needs an asio enabled device for link!
So what's your opinions on what my options are here ?
To save anyone the trouble I do own a scarlet focus 212 2nd gen & also a behringer xenyx 302 usb also, oh & also a laptop aswell as desktop pc if dammed needs be I need to use them both to be able to record these crazy techno rides I'm just getting into.
Is it as simple as using the xenyx 302 with ableton using the output into channel 4 & then back in from the master out of the ddj Rx into the line in on the same xenyx 302 or would this be too simple a solution?

I picked up this VCR from eBay and the picture is coming out horribly from VHS. It outputs via HDMI for both DVD and VHS. DVD looks great, but VHS look like this
 the odd thing is the audio is fine. And if you pause it, the freeze frame gets rid of all the weird static interference. Do I just need to clean this or should I reach out to the seller and see about a refund? The seller said it was “tested”.

(Disclaimer: If you decide to research this case yourself. Which I always encourage my readers to do, this is one of those cases where you can find uncensored crime scene photos literally in online newspapers.
I'm looking forward to the next write-up after this. It'll actually be from an English-speaking country and I'll be using the case I chose to represent it in the "One True Crime Case From Every Country" series and not picking out another as I've done for Bolivia, El Salvador and now this one)
Luz MarĂ­a del RocĂ­o LĂłpez Morales was born on May 17, 1995, in Guatemala. Luz, the youngest child out of 2 children. Luz had almost died not long after she was born due to a blocked pylorus but was saved via a complicated surgical operation performed on July 1, 1995, when Luz was only 45 days old. At school, Luz was described as independent and took sports, athletics and dance classes. After graduating at the age of 17, she sought a higher education at the Mariano GĂĄlvez University with Law and Criminology as her major.

In August 2017, she accompanied her mother to a car dealership in CobĂĄn in order to buy a motorcycle for her brother's 25th birthday. The salesman on duty that day was 20-year-old Jorge Rafael Zea MejĂ­a. They decided not to buy a vehicle that day but they left Jorge their phone number and left with a business card for the dealership. Very little information is known about Jorge himself beyond the fact that he was born in 1997 and his family lived below the poverty line.

Not long after Jorge called Luz although for personal and social conversations unrelated to any purchases they may make. There were several more calls before Jorge, a week later asked Luz out for a date at a cafe. Luz herself had found Jorge attractive and enjoyed their brief meeting so she agreed. By all accounts, the date went well and Luz and Jorge soon became boyfriend and girlfriend.
The relationship progressed very quickly, both of their parents were against how swiftly they were rushing through their relationship and Luz's did not approve of Jorge at all but both families went ignored and before 2017 was even over, they had both moved in together and both married in December 2017. There were problems with their relationship almost as soon as it had begun. An unexpected setback with their venue caused the wedding to be more expensive than initially thought and Luz became pregnant soon after the wedding.

The wedding day
Due to her pregnancy and the fact that she hadn't graduated from university with a degree yet, few employers had any interest in taking her on. The first sign that something may have been wrong in the relationship happened in late December 2018, when Luz's father witnessed Jorge strike Luz. When confronted and asked why he did that, Jorge didn't answer and just said he'd change. In March 2019, the couple's daughter, a baby girl was born. Meanwhile, Jorge had been fired from the car dealership and seemed to make no effort to find another job. Due to their financial situation, Luz was eventually persuaded to move in with Jorge's family.

A year and a half later, Luz's mother went to visit her daughter at her new home and was horrified to see the condition's Luz was living under. To begin with, Jorge's family was still rather poor so the only real improvement that came from living there was simply that they weren't living on the streets instead. Luz was rather malnourished since Jorge's parents didn't view feeding their daughter-in-law as a "priority" only giving her one plate of food a day. Jorge's younger brother, Pablo Zea didn't much like Luz. He constantly humiliated and beat her simply because he hated the sound of her baby crying and was also infuriated by all the children's toys and supplies in the house. He often threw them at Luz and at one point threw the baby's bottle at her baby daughter herself in a fit of rage after finding it in the bathroom. Jorge did nothing to stop them and didn't even come off as upset that they were happening.
After this revelation, Luz's mother convinced her to take her child and move back in with her and her family which she agreed to do. It wouldn't take long for Jorge to appear at her family's doorstep on many occasions, begging and pleading for Luz to return and live with him again. Luz agreed only on the condition that he get a job to support his child and that they find their own place away from Jorge's relatives. Jorge agreed and so Luz moved into an apartment with him only after he got employed and the two found a new place to live.
In August 2020, Luz finally graduated from university with her degree and not long after got a job in Mixco at the prosecutor's office in Guatemala's Public Ministry. She was assigned the role of a criminal investigator specializing in child abuse or exploitation cases. She also bought a car which Jorge used as a taxi in order to keep himself employed and to contribute to the family himself. Their financial situation improved greatly and to the outside world, it seemed that Jorge himself was improving as well. But that was just to the outside world. Jorge had in reality barely changed and was in fact worse than Luz's parents had initially assumed. He was not just indifferent to the abuse Luz suffered at the hands of his relatives, he was unsurprisingly an abuser himself.
Jorge was very lazy and barely worked, only doing the bare minimum to stop what he viewed as "nagging", spent almost all of the money Luz made for the family on beer and hanging out with friends, and was constantly jealous at any attention Luz was given or gave. He would try to be as controlling as he could possibly manage, tried to prevent her from making friends and forbade her from having lunch with her work colleagues, He would take that one, in particular, a step further and even track down and threaten them for being near Luz. She couldn't even be anywhere without him at all outside of work and she wasn't allowed to walk or take public transport to work, Jorge had to drive her. He would constantly go through her phone to check her call and message history and forbade her from making any social media accounts, and yet he would proceed to blame Luz for causing any and all family trouble. Even when nothing of note was going on he would suddenly start an argument from seemingly nothing. Jorge quite literally did not see anything wrong with what he was doing and almost thought it was normal and he justified his actions by saying that Luz would simply endure everything and never try leaving him. The neighbours of the apartment would constantly be kept awake by the sounds of screaming and saw her face constantly bruised from Jorge beating her. Luz had made an attempt to report this abuse before in May 2020, but the prosecutor's office she went to did nothing, refused to look into the complaint and said it was her responsibility to report to the correct office.
Although Jorge believed that Luz would simply put up with everything and never try to leave him, she did in fact try leaving several times. On Numerous occasions, she would take their daughter and move back in with her own parents and every time Jorge would make his way over there and beg and plead for Luz to reconsider. And every time her parent's own pleas would fall on deaf ears and Luz would give Jorge another chance.
On December 9, 2020, Luz again showed up at her parent's house after another argument and beating and this time asked for their help. She had again sustained another beating and more physical abuse with some bones with her hand being broken. She wasn't even able to park properly when she arrived and her brother had to do it for her. On December 17, Jorge showed up at his in-laws and began his standard routine of begging Luz to come back and promising to change, this time claiming to have got a job. Much to her parent's despair, Luz again believed him.
Like always Jorge's words were rather hollow and he did not keep this promise. By the end of 2020, he still had no job, the two were starved for money on account of Jorge stealing his wife's paychecks to spend on himself and Jorge's behaviour remained unaltered. On January 18, 2021, Luz called her mother to say that the money situation was so bad that she couldn't even afford to buy a bottle of milk for her daughter. She told her to meet up with her the next day and she'd not even give her some milk for her daughter free of charge, but a lot of money to buy and cover many other expenses.
January 19th came and Luz had failed to show up. She would send Luz several text messages but she never responded to any of them and would not pick up her cell phone when it was called. She would finally be texted back at 10:00 p.m. but she had a feeling that the message was not sent by Luz, although, no sources seem to elaborate on what the content of the messages were. Her brother had similar thoughts, he was sent a message about his new car with heart emojis in included in the text. The emojis are what tipped him off that Luz was likely not sending the messages since she didn't use Emojis.
On January 20, her mother went to the prosecutor's office to ask about Luz and she was told that it was the second day she missed work since she failed to show up on the 19th and no one was able to contact her. Coincidently, Jorge showed up at the prosecutor's office before her mother could even leave to also look for Luz. According to him, she abruptly left after another fight and wouldn't return her calls, he had assumed she went to live with her mother and was calling around to try and find her. Sensing that her son-in-law was lying, her next stop after leaving the prosecutor's office was the police. A nationwide alert was placed for Luz and the police began their search and investigation under the assumption that foul play was behind her disappearance.

Luz had no enemies outside of Jorge's side of the family, there were no ransom demands and Jorge was the last to see her alive. The police immediately brought Jorge in for questioning. Jorge denied any involvement in Luz's disappearance claiming that it couldn't be him since he was actively partaking in the search. While he was being questioned the police continued to comb the area and search for witnesses.
The most recent footage they could find of Luz was at 3:34 p.m. on January 19. when she was dropped off at work by Jorge and was seen getting out of the vehicle. She was then seen entering the prosecutor's office. This was simply to perform a quick errand as at 4:15 she left the office and got back in the car which then drove to a checkpoint near Luz and Jorge's home. Before crossing the checkpoint, Jorge got out of the vehicle and motioned for Luz to get into the driver's seat while he held their child and walked into their home alone. More recent CCTV footage from January 20th showed the couple's car driving toward the prosecutor's office but the windows were too tinted for investigators to tell who was driving and how many were in the vehicle. None of the cameras showed the car stopping or anyone leaving. The police questioned Luz's neighbours who testified to Jorge's abusive behaviour and how he constantly screamed at her. In the days leading up to her disappearance, Jorge said that if she tried leaving him he would kill her and hide her body in such a way that no one would ever find her. Police and her family, already hearing the worst, for the next three days searched the nearby forests, mountains, slopes and drainage ditches for her body.

On January 22, Municipal Workers were dispatched to Simeón Cañas Avenue to clean out a sewer drain after residents complained about it being clogged. The workers removed the grate and inside the drain was a black object wrapped in plastic and tied with a rope, upon closer inspection, they realized that it was a charred human body. Firefighters and police were both called to the scene to retrieve the body and begin an investigation. Due to the severe burns and decomposition, initial on-scene investigations were unable to even determine the gender of the remains.

A more thorough autopsy determined that the body belonged to a young woman. This, combined with the fact that the body was found only a few meters away, on the same street as the prosecutor's office led to the police suspecting the body belonged to Luz so they had her parents and brother come in where they miraculously provided positive identification. That specific area of the street was located in a CCTV blindspot and didn't even have street lamps so no witnesses were present or saw anyone place Luz's body there.
An autopsy showed that Luz had sustained third-forth degree burns to 80% of the body and had been severely beaten. The medical examiner noted several fractures, internal hemorrhages and dried blood in her nose and mouth. The final cause of death was listed as strangulation based on marks around her neck. The police questioned Luz's friends and family and they all told them all about Jorge and his controlling and abusive behaviour. Jorge yet again remained the police's number-one suspect and they quickly searched their home.
Once inside the officers noticed how dirty and unorganized the apartment was. On the staircase leading to the patio police found nasal fluids belonging to Luz. In the patio itself, police found blood stains on the wall and pieces of charred flesh on the floor. Drag marks from the charred flesh led to a plastic container of gasoline with a majority of it's contents missing. The police also examined the couple's car and found traces of blood in the trunk. Jorge had also purchased a large mattress very recently and the plastic sheeting used to contain it matched the plastic wrapped around Luz's body. Even more damming was how a forensic analyst of the plastic sheeting had revealed that it bore the emblem of the mattress company. The type of rope wrapped around the body and sheeting was also found in the house. Jorge's guilt was now undeniable and he was placed under arrest on January 23.

Hours after Jorge's arrest, Luz's mother came forward showing police audio recorders that Luz and Jorge's neighbours had made in order to document the constant incidences. This particular one was made just before her murder, she could hear her daughter crying and Luz screaming for help. The crime outraged Guatemala and on January 31, thousands from across the country, mostly women took to the streets to demand justice.

Jorge even in the face of all this evidence continued to deny any involvement and said that he personally drove Luz to work on January 19th and that he didn't know what happened afterward. Due to how undeniable his guilt was, the police eventually gave up on trying to make him confess. The police and prosecutors got to work on reconstructing the crime and came up with this likely version of events.
On January 18th, late into the night, the two had another quarrel which led to Jorge beating her violently. This was the most violent Jorge had been by far and she was left screaming for help while her neighbours recorded the screams but did nothing to intervene. Luz was left with a broken nose and a severe head injury. Eventually, he wrapped his bare hands around Luz's neck and strangled her. He then dragged her body into the backyard and poured gasoline over her body and then lit it.
He had hoped to reduce her body to just a skeleton and then dispose of the bones, only, the fire had produced more smoke and a worse odour than he had expected and so he quickly extinguished the fire before any neighbours could notice and call the fire department. Afterwards, he wrapped Luz's body in the plastic sheeting and placed it in the trunk of their car before aimlessly driving around, hoping to find somewhere secluded to find the body where he had hoped no one would ever find it. Jorge and Luz's daughter was present and watched all of this go down. Eventually, he found the secluded stretch of road near Luz's work and removed the cover to the sewer drain and disposed of Luz's body. Leaving the body of an investigator on the same street as the prosecutor's office ended up being a coincidence and not a message. The next morning, he attempted to create an alibi by driving to her place of work to make it look like she had driven her there and tried looking for and contacting her to take suspicion away from himself.
Causing almost as much outrage as the murder, was the trial. The trial was needlessly delayed several times with Jorge's attorneys doing all they could to delay proceedings such as claiming that Jorge had contracted COVID-19 and even tried to get the case itself dismissed by writing off witness statements and the evidence as circumstantial with nothing firmly implicating him. They even tried to change his pre-trial detention to house arrest and told the court how depressed he was over being accused of the murder. It got so bad that an evidence hearing, not the trial, an evidence hearing didn't take place until December 17, 2021, nearly a year after the murder itself. At the evidence hearing, the plethora of evidence was presented to the court and Jorge's defence tried to delay proceedings even more so they could have their own forensic pathologist analyze Luz's body in hopes they could pin down the "true cause of death". Luz's mother gave an impassioned speech to the court about her anguish over the murder and how she was left raising Luz's daughter and how difficult it was over her watching her mother be killed. She also asked for protection because Jorge's relatives were sending the family death threats. The judge shut the defence down and announced that the next court date would be the beginning of the trial.
On July 26, 2022, the trial began at The Second Court of Femicide and Other Forms of Violence against Women. During the trial, a non-see-through plastic screen was placed between Jorge and the rest of the court to keep him from looking toward the witnesses and Luz's family. All the aforementioned evidence was laid out before the court but with two more extra details provided.

After Luz's death, her cell phone records still showed that someone was using her phone to send messages to several people she knew in an attempt to make it look as if she was still alive. Jorge had his own personal cell phone and those records were retrieved and compared to Luz's. The results showed that both cell phones after Luz's death were constantly pinging at the same exact location showing that Jorge was the one with the phone. Jorge's lawyers on the other hand, saw this evidence as exonerating. They said that he had found the phone while looking for Luz and was driving around with it to try and find her. This defence ignores the fact that Jorge would've also been sending misleading text messages to Luz's friends and relatives and that he called the phone himself. The lawyers also accused the judges of being biased and caving into pressure from the public to return a guilty verdict.
The second piece of evidence came after Jorge's arrest. The day he was arrested, officers when sending him through intake noticed that he had several bruises and scratches on his body which came from Luz violently resisting and fighting back against Jorge. The most notable one was a long scratch along his neck. It was pointed out that no skin cells belonging to Jorge were retrieved from under Luz's fingerprints but prosecutors countered this argument by pointing out how the fire would've destroyed them.
To paint a picture of who Jorge was, all of Luz's relatives and even some acquaintances and neighbours were called to testify. One of her colleagues said that Luz confided in her that Jorge had said to her "I'm going to dismember you" The prosecution also projected images of private text conversations between Luz and Jorge onto the courtroom for the judges to read. This also had the secondary effect of comparing Jorge's writing style to the messages sent by Luz after her death.
On September 13, the doctor who oversaw Jorge's routine medical examination upon his admission into prison was called to testify about the wounds to his body on the day of his arrest. He said that although the most notable wound was to his neck, a majority of them were centred around Jorge's arms and hands and since the cause of death was strangulation it was highly likely that these were from her clawing at him in an attempt to force him to release his grip around her neck.
In spite of everything, Jorge's lawyers were still saying that everything presented had no "probative value". They said that none of the eyewitnesses actually witnessed the alleged crime themselves. They requested that every bit of evidence be dismissed and that Jorge be granted release immediately. They even admitted that Jorge was a violent person but said that he was innocent of this one act of violence in particular. They said that the CCTV footage was "not important" because other vehicles were in the area and none of the cameras showed Jorge getting out to remove the body from the trunk, although this was because as mentioned, Luz's body was found in a blindspot. They even doubted that there was enough room in the trunk to fit Luz's body.
Jorge didn't say a word at any of the hearings until the last day of the trial. On this day he echoed his lawyer and said he was innocent and that he should be released so he could raise his daughter. He also went on to deny being a violent person and strangely said that all the neighbours agreed with this assertion. He also questioned why nobody reported him if he was a domestic abuser. On October 11, 2022, Jorge was found guilty and sentenced to 50 years imprisonment without parole. Her family, who had been expecting much less, were satisfied with the sentence and hoped it would send a message. The court didn't just stop there. On October 13, they ordered that Luz's family be given compensation and restitution, that a memorial plaque be built at the sewer drain where her body was found and that her daughter be given a scholarship by the Ministry of Education when she grows up.
On November 4, Jorge appealed his conviction which led to Luz's family protesting outside the court and demanding that the sentence remain unchanged. Right before the appeal, his lawyers resigned from the case. On February 10th, 2023, the memorial plaque in Luz's honour was unveiled. On April 10th, The Second Chamber of the Court of Appeals For Crimes of Femicide denied his appeal and upheld the sentence. Having exhausted that one appeal, his 50-year sentence is now final.

Luz's daughter, Alice who was three years old at the time of her mother's murder is now being raised by Luz's parents and her brother who have stated that raising their granddaughter is now their main purpose in life.
