Okay, so I’m kind of in the middle of a mental breakdown. In fact, I have been under intense stress for quite some time, and it’s really catching up to me.
As far as my work life, I work a stressful sales and marketing job. I’m about 8 years into sales, and I am definitely getting towards the end of my stamina in being able to do this…which I truly never should have been here, but I just kind of fell into it (I got a BS in psychology in 2016, and wanted to do something with mental health/social work. Everyone my parents age talked me out of it, ie, ‘you won’t make enough money,’ etc.). I’ve decided to go back to school this coming winter to get a MSW, and it’s LONG overdue. I have a career coach who told me she doesn’t know how me, an INFP, has lasted in sales so long, not to mention how I’ve performed so well. But thinking about doing this sales job for another year, let alone the rest of my life, makes me feel nauseous.
As far as personal life, basically, what ISN’T going on? My dog, who was my rock and my best friend, died gruesomely and unexpectedly in January. My car has broken down 3 times in the last 3 months. My grandpa also died late last month, and I haven’t been able to see him in 5 years due to family drama. I’m coming off a really shitty financial year of 2022-23, where I had to quickly quit another stressful sales job, and ended up racking up $10K in credit card debt, while working dead end jobs to try to survive/pay bills (I’m finally almost done paying it off). Essentially, I ended up making almost $100K/year but absolutely hating my life, to only $30K, and still hating my life. Not to mention, I’m 6 years deep into a medical FTM transition, and my closest family still continues to purposefully misgender and disrespect me. To say I’m stressed, and I have been for quite some time, is an understatement. If it weren’t for my amazing girlfriend, idk if I’d have the strength to still be here.
Normally, I’m able compartmentalize both Work and Personal life, but lately they’re bleeding in together…and it’s getting worse. I’m barely getting any sleep, and when I do, I have disturbing nightmares. I physically cannot get out of bed until 8 am, and I’m barely a functioning adult until 11 am or Noon. I have almost zero appetite unless it’s the occasional Taco Bell or McDonald’s splurge, which isn’t good for body, or wallet. My TMJ is so bad that I sometimes can barely move my jaw. My heart rate is consistently about 105-110 BPM when I’m resting. I honestly feel like I could snap on the next person who looks at me funny, which isn’t like me - I’m NOT a confrontational person.
I go to weekly therapy. My therapist told me that I should apply for FMLA. However, part of me feels so bad for doing it, as my boss is so overwhelmed. She also has a shitshow between work and personal life, and I hate to think adding more to her plate, especially with how good she’s been to me. She knows everything that has been going on with me and is very supportive. My therapist said that while he knows how I feel, that I can’t keep going on the way I have.
I have been diligently meditating and working on my emotional regulation since COVID, and I’ve deleted most social media, and it’s definitely helped. But this is a stress load that I need something more. I feel like if I could just have 1-1.5 months of not having to worry about work, and just resting and being able to catch up on personal shit that has been piling up, I can get back to some sort of ‘baseline’ where I can be a functioning adult again. I honestly feel like if I keep going down this path, I could have a stroke, and even that I’m overall shortening my lifespan.
Idk why I’m posting this. Maybe I just need some reassurance that it’s going to be okay, and that I’m not a bad person for taking care of myself. Help??

I apologize in advance for the long post, but I'm mostly just confused about all of this.
Long story short, we let our yard get a bit out of hand over the spring; we had gotten used to not having to mow or anything over the winter, and then some medical challenges came up, and the yard got a bit overgrown. However, when I say overgrown, it wasn't so crazy we had to hire professionals- we started a few weeks ago and pretty immediately got it back to normal.
However, today we received a letter (we're in Augusta, GA) from the county code enforcement people saying that we were in violation of a code about nuisances. We have 10 days to let them know we've fixed up the yard, and then we have to pay a re-inspection fee.
My main question is: how enforceable is a code like this? There's no definition of what constitutes "overgrown", it just says "overgrown grass and weeds." (Augusta GA title 7 chapter 2 section 7-2-1 and 7-2-2) How are we supposed to know (I mean, we won't have this issue again, this was literally a one-time issue because of the circumstances) how far the yard is allowed to grow? It just feels very vague and more like a sort of Fear tactic rather than an actual enforceable code.
Like I said, we've already fixed the yard way before we even received this notice, so we'll just call for the re-inspection and pay the $50 or whatever it is, but I'm very mad that this is still a thing we have to worry about when we specifically chose this house because it's not in an HOA and have been living here for about 3 years now with no problems.

Salutations! Let me apologize in advance for any typos as I am doing this from my phone.
I seeking advice that perhaps somebody may have insight into regarding a substantiated CPS investigation. This is going to probably be a long one so again I apologize in advance for eating anyone's time.
This investigation began around March 8th and chiefly concerns my girlfriend of 12 years as of March 12 2024 (we're not married due to cost of marriage and decided it's better to focus on our bills. One day we'll get there though!) and my 14 year old daughter. For anonymity purposes we'll call my GF "M" and our daughter "A". The dispute starts while M is getting A from band practice after school. M is a big Taylor Swift fan while A is not. M is the art teacher at my other youngins elm school. M explains they stayed later putting up women's inspiration signs in the hallways of the school and that T Swift was one of the signs. A begins harping and rubbing on M for liking T Swift effectively reducing M's likeing of T Swift to her being stupid. This rubs M the wrong way but she lets it go.
M and A make it home and M tells A to unload the dishwasher. This is A's only real chore and it is expected daily. While A is griping about unloading the dishwasher M mentions to A that she would like her to check her phone in our bedroom at 10PM on school nights as M and I noticed that she would get wired and stay up to the later hours watching TikTok. As the Michael Jordan meme would say, "I took offense to that". A was very angry by this and what was an argument quickly escalated to her stomping upstairs, putting on her headset and going nuclear screaming and cursing M with every word in the book. This is the point where I can actually say "this is what I saw" as I am a systems admin and work from home I was still catching up on some work and had my headset on blasting music. Her stomping and screaming were so load they cut through my music and had me saying what's going on? Before I make it to A's room, M has made it up the stairs and is confronting her. The foot of A's bed faces the doorway and is quiet narrow until you walk further in the room. A's wireless mouse and keyboard she uses are on an old kidney bean shaped laptop table meant to be used on ones lap. It's old and the bottom padding piece that rests under it has come off and has been long gone since it was held on by pretty janky Velcro. M and A are arguing and A is still cursing out M except they are face to face now. M picks up the old laptop board and smacks/spanks A in the thigh as A is sitting indian style on the bed. M says "are we done" as A continues to curse her and be flippant resulting in another two smacks in the thigh for a total of three . M throws the laptop, lap thingy to the floor and pulls the netgear USB wireless card from and then tells A, not only have you lost your phone but now your computer. Discord means the world to A as it her means of communicating with her internet boyfriends. The internet boyfriends have been a huge headache as we have had her sending/receiving nude pictures via Snapchat, and having phone sex via the Nintendo switches fortnite chat and discord That is a huge can of worms that even as I, a skilled system admin can't squash out. I'm sure there are other parents out there faceing Snapchat hell too but back to the story... When M removes the dongle A jump out of her bed and starts bird chesting real hard. You know, when somebody starts boeing up to get physical. She approaches M, gets in her face to curse her out a final time then tries to walk through M and our of the room. By walk through I mean that shoulder bump thing one does to be knowing rude. When I tried to walk through M, M pushes her back. Not they "Hey homie lets fight" push but that "whoa, don5 try charging me" push. A's room is disgusting, laundry and dishevelled. A's room and hygiene have always been bad. M and I have taken her to therapists for behavioral issues and depression but the best we could get was an oppositional defiance disorder diagnosis. We believe there to be more but that would be a whole new post of it's own. So, when M pushes A back, A slips at the foot of the bed which is the bottom bunk of a previous bunk bed setup. It was a fall that she fell on her butt as she went down but must have banged something as she had a bruise on her leg. She gets up screaming she is leaving and M lets her out of the door way. She rushes past me as I'm a bit stunned like what the heck just happened? A goes through the front door into our neighborhood. Luckily we're in a subdivision so she goes to a friend's which we're informed that she is over there. She comes back maybe after an hour and a half, has dinner and we all call it a night. Let cooler heads prevail instead of trying to talk about it. Fast forward 2-3 days later, M gets notified that she is being invested by Mississippi CPS for claims of child abuse. We confront A and she says she told her teachers she was abused and from what I gather showed them the silver dollar sized bruise from where she slipped. The teachers were even taken back like "you know if you say this, we have to report it". She was like I know. This report was done because we took her devices and did not disclose when we would give them back. This was a petty, malicious attempt to get revenge..... And it worked. A's younger brother and sister were interviewed, our house was gone through by our cps social worker. I have give my account in an interview and think, obviously she will see A has "lieabetis" and is making a falsified report. Our social worker then escalates this to a forensic investigation that involves A and her siblings being examined by a therapist individually, and a humiliating, spread your checks style wellness exam to look for bruising or any possible old injuries M could have inflicted upon them. This is April 22nd and M and I are like finally they'll see we don't beat our kids. Well.... I knew it would take a while for the medical stuff to be reviewed so I reach out to our social worker on May 13th awaiting our obvious exhonoration, but that quickly turns into her saying she has substantiated the claim and while she would not be pursuing criminal charges, this substantiation would effectively mark M as being guilty for child abuse. She would be entered into a national registry and would assuredly lose her job as the elm school art teacher. The way the claim of abuse has been substantiated was by M admitting that she smacked/spanked A with the laptop, lap desk, and that she pushed A resulting in her slip. I've begun trying to reach out for resources such as Mississippi families as Allies for guidance on this matter but I've just begun doing so today, May 14th. In my heart and in my mind, I don't believe what transpired between M and A to be child abuse. Do I believe it to be a less than optimal discipling, yes. M did not touch A with malicious intent nor to cause long term physical harm.
To finally get to my question, does anyone know in the instance of a non criminal investigation concluding M can appeal the substantiated decision in hopes of overturning it to unsubstantiated? It's not to say we're adverse to the social workers decision, but we know with a clear mind that M didn't physically abuse A.This would ruin M's newfound career. She finally cleared her first year and things were looking great. Financially it would be super tight but we thought about retaining a lawyer if they can help. It's not that we aren't without remorse for the whole situation. We just feel the context within hasn't been adequitly explained doing us a huge disservice.

LONG, sad story, but 45 year old half sibling has never had a job in her life and is a narcissistic sociopath who mentally and emotionally started abusing my already abused mother at 12 and basically for decades had her lying to everyone and funneling assets to her live a high lifestyle for decades to the sum of well over $10 k a month. Lost a nice house with apartments worth millions, took my father's house out of a trust for me and my siblings and sold it--both were paid off. Mother basically on puppet strings and decades of trying to save her didn't work. Alienated everyone. About five years ago half sibling had to take her in with her when she lost the houses to keep the pensions coming to her and refused to let anyone see her. We finally found mom in a hospital on Xmas with a broken hip sibling has had her walking on for a month, and she's been in six times since for respiratory issues, once intubated--sibling has refused to allow her any vaccines, including covid, having gotten POA and medical documents fraudulently signed over with her dementia. Mom cannot remember anything a few minutes ago, an hour, a day, a month, years ago, which is sort of a blessing. All she can do is repeat what sibling says. The other siblings have been trying to help mom and give her a decent end to her life at 87 and some communication with family and people she knows. (She's been completely isolated.) She says she wants it, and is so much happier in the hospital because she has interaction with people. NIGHTMARE finances where "they" sold house and didn't pay capital gains, no taxes filed for years, maxed out credit cards with only minimum payments, again. We TRIED to work with psycho to fix this, but as soon as she doesn't get to have all of the money and you 100% bow down to her, she cuts everyone out. She has 100% control of mom's phone, who can't really use it on her own.
My brother had a tracker on the phone so we were able to see what was going on, like her taking my mom out for hours and hours at night going to stores, eating out, and going shopping, leaving mom in the car late at night--she admitted to that. That's how we found out that "they" had moved to an apartment and where, because the house "they" bought they couldn't afford to keep up on, even with them selling my father's house and my mom's $6700 month pension. We were trying to set it up to bring them both back to where my mom used to live, where most of us and all of her friends are (and psycho took her hours away to isolate her) to a nice place for both of them, where we can help with care, get good medical care, etc, and psycho went psycho and cut off all contact. All true, and reality is far worse. We have tried EVERYTHING and EVERY source. No one cares. Many, many, many APS calls from us and hospital social workers, multiple police welfare checks, all kinds of social services, state elected officials and everything else. Really, all we can do is break in, take my mom and all her stuff and leave, which isn't going to happen. But from experience, no one would care.
So, since we have really tried and mom will die soon from this experience, what can I do to make miserable psycho even more psycho and let the world know? I know the apartment complex, but not a number. The phone and tracker have been disabled. I was thinking of calling the IRS and FTB to facilitate even more that fraud they are going after my "mom" for and letting them know psycho is controlling all of this. I know my mom's credit union (I had to change my whole account because I've had it since I was 15 and my mom's name was still associated with it--my brother and sister have already had accounts seised by the IRS that had her name on it) and was thinking of trying to let them know about the fraud. I'm pretty sure the maxed out credit cards are from there and Discover. Any ideas?

LONG, sad story, but 45 year old half sibling has never had a job in her life and is a narcissistic sociopath who mentally and emotionally started abusing my already abused mother at 12 and basically for decades had her lying to everyone and funneling assets to her live a high lifestyle for decades to the sum of well over $10 k a month. Lost a nice house with apartments worth millions, took my father's house out of a trust for me and my siblings and sold it--both were paid off. Mother basically on puppet strings and decades of trying to save her didn't work. Alienated everyone. About five years ago half sibling had to take her in with her when she lost the houses to keep the pensions coming to her and refused to let anyone see her. We finally found mom in a hospital on Xmas with a broken hip sibling has had her walking on for a month, and she's been in six times since for respiratory issues, once intubated--sibling has refused to allow her any vaccines, including covid, having gotten POA and medical documents fraudulently signed over with her dementia. Mom cannot remember anything a few minutes ago, an hour, a day, a month, years ago, which is sort of a blessing. All she can do is repeat what sibling says. The other siblings have been trying to help mom and give her a decent end to her life at 87 and some communication with family and people she knows. (She's been completely isolated.) She says she wants it, and is so much happier in the hospital because she has interaction with people. NIGHTMARE finances where "they" sold house and didn't pay capital gains, no taxes filed for years, maxed out credit cards with only minimum payments, again. We TRIED to work with psycho to fix this, but as soon as she doesn't get to have all of the money and you 100% bow down to her, she cuts everyone out. She has 100% control of mom's phone, who can't really use it on her own.
My brother had a tracker on the phone so we were able to see what was going on, like her taking my mom out for hours and hours at night going to stores, eating out, and going shopping, leaving mom in the car late at night--she admitted to that. That's how we found out that "they" had moved to an apartment and where, because the house "they" bought they couldn't afford to keep up on, even with them selling my father's house and my mom's $6700 month pension.
