I've been working on a new vocabulary self-learning app and could really use your help to test it out! Here’s what it’s all about:
Features:
Word Bank: Manage words with properties like translation, transliteration (auto-romanization supported for Asian languages), audio, word class, gender, tone, and more.
Sentence Bank: Add sentences with translations, get cross-linked words, sentence analysis and auto-translation based on the words in word bank.
Learning Games: Flashcard reviews, typing trainer, cloze deletion tests, and language-specific games (for select languages).
Stats: Track your vocab growth, review progress, and typing speed.
Mastery System: Tiered progress for long-term learning.
Currently, the app is mainly tailored to Asian languages, with extensive support for Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai. Western languages with extensive support are English and Estonian (Eesti). Depending on feedback and how much time I have that's not purely spent on bug-fixing and improving existing features, I'll add support for more popular languages very soon. And just as not to mislead anyone: This is not an app with curated courses like Memrise or Duolingo, nor is it a purely flashcard-based app such as Anki. With Voqab, I'm trying a novel and unique approach: You add your own words as you're learning them using other sources such as books, YouTube videos or other apps, but the app uses the best spaced-repetition algorithm available (FSRS 4.5) based on the latest research and will help you memorize these words much more effectively. Additionally, the app knows a lot about the language you're learning, and it will be able to give you automatic links to relevant online dictionaries, suggest an automatic romanization for Asian languages, understand particles for select languages and show them in sentence analysis, provide language-specific learning resources and help you getting a good feel for the language using the typing trainer, cloze deletion test, word quiz and tiered mastery system. Hello, So I am looking at a position that's a good 12 hours away from me as a IT specialist. I had an interview with the Director of the firm last week and it was a nice turn of events as the interview was very nice. About 30 minutes of a call and I was able to understand the scope of the company and had a rough feel of what the company is looking for. I was supposed to be getting a follow up call last week however I got an auto email that I was rejected from the position. Although I thought the interview was going fairly well, I asked the director for some feedback following the rejection. What I got was essentially: I did not have anything skills I needed to improve on, but he really appreciated the candid and that I was very approachable during the call. Turned the rejection letter into a LinkedIn connection as I honestly have a positive gut feeling about this company. That 30 minute call definitely made me feel better during this entire year of job searching post graduation. Now I did a quick check back earlier today and it seems like the position is still open, but I thought it would be too soon to reapply. If anything, should I wait for about a month and check back to see if its still there, or should I message the director before applying again?

Having a link issue. We just had Lumen / century link install theor router and said we are good to go. It's a SMF LC fiber hand off to us. I have these spf+ modules in our netgate firewall. OPSTRAN 10GBASE-LR SFP+ Optical Transceiver Module Compatible for Fortinet FN-TRAN-SFP+LR FS-TRAN-SFP+LR FG-TRAN-SFP+LR 10G SFP+ LR 1310nm 10km DDM Duplex LC SMF But we are seeing no link lights at all. Have tried rolling the fiber pairs as well. Nothing. I have tried to set the interfaces to auto and also manual negotiation speeds. Lumen says they see nothing connected at all.

So I’ve been ignoring and dealing with this issue for over a year now because it was just an annoyance but now it’s really getting on my nerves. My PC acts fine and can restart completely normally but whenever my PC fully shuts off I.E. shut down or when it auto powers down it will basically brick. To prevent the issue I’ve been keeping an auto clicker on but it’s really not optimal. Someone on Discord helped me figure out how to fix it temporarily by removing and replacing my CMOS battery but I’ve yet to find a permanent solution. Any help?

I am utilizing the Invoice Group functionality. It seems that I can't join data through from the Customer record. I have a Sales Rep listed on the Customer. When I create an invoice group for this customer I want the Sales Rep to auto-populate in a custom Sales Rep field. The issue is I keep getting errors. I tried doing a formula in my custom field for {customer.salesrep} it says ERROR: customer.salesrep not found. I tried to Workflow it using the After Submit trigger and I get the same error each time. I also tried After Field Sourcing and After Field Edit triggers with the customer being the triggering field and it's doesn't join anything through. The Customer Record is linked at the top of the Inv Group so I find it weird that it's almost as if it's too many joins away. Is this a known limitation for invoice groups? Is there any way for me to pull this data over without having to script it?
I've had a Unifi stack for a few years, and in that time my needs have grown and morphed. I'm trying to get things pretty buttoned away now, but I also know I'm generally pretty ignorant, so hopeful for some guidance. As it is I have 10 networks, each with their own vlan: Default (this has all my switches, APs and my DNS server) IOT 1: This has my personal IOT devices IOT 2: IOT devices that don't belong to me Trusted 1: My phone/PCs Trusted 2: Other's phones/PCs Cameras: My protect cameras Server: My media/homelab server and a printer (I'm not sure if the printer should maybe be on either an IOT net, or its own) Secure: Currently nothing, the thought was either VPN out, or trusted devices that I wouldn't want accessing anything local Guest: Self explanatory DMZ: Atlas probe I've got 8 wifi networks: Trusted 1 2.4/5 Trusted 1 5GHz Trusted 2 2.4/5 IOT 1 2.4/5GHz IOT 2 2.4/5GHz IOT 2 5GHz Guest (currently disabled) 2.4/5GHz Cameras 2.4/5GHz I'd happily simplify the networks through radius or the password choosing the vlan, but I'm sure the best avenue to that, particularly that wouldn't mess things up for older devices. This is where my ignorance really steps up. Broadly I want the security I can have without screwing up useability. IoT wise that means I still want Google Home/Chromecast/Alexa to work, ditto Ring/Hubitat/SmartThings/Ecowitt/Hue/Govee/Lutron/whatever I'm missing. I also want to manage my IoT devices from their matching Trusted network (so Trusted 1 to IoT 1, Trusted 2 to IoT2) as well as Trusted 1 to IoT 2 and IoT 1 to IoT 2. This may be a convoluted mistake. The idea was that I could manage any of the devices from my Trusted net, and my IoT devices could interact with any other IoT but not the other way. For my server that means being able to stream outside the network, via Plex/Emby (with reverse proxy), and eventually I'll get HomeAssistant and some other toys running on it. Cameras need connectivity to my UNVR, and I believe possibly my server (for scrypted/Homeassistant) but nothing else. DMZ/Secure: Fully isolated from anything local, and then whatever the guidance is for a probe. Even as I typed this I thought 'alright, I can do this' only to look at the new interface on the gateway, and the apparent 102 rules of which most seem to be auto created and just feel my stomach knot up. I think I probably need a very small bit of guidance on unfucking how I'm thinking about it, and a few tips on setup and I can get there, but from the starting point it's daunting.

It also denotes the importance of first impressions — which are paramount to converting, retaining, and expanding your customer base. And where first impressions typically form is within your initial onboarding experience. But despite this, onboarding is frequently overlooked as a one-time checklist – often becoming stale as your product, messaging, and GTM tactics evolve. And we’ve been guilty of this too at Supademo, where we struggled with a pattern of less-than-ideal customer activation, slow time-to-value, and low onboarding completion. In an effort to improve these metrics, we focused on hypothesizing and implementing a series of tactics toreduce friction and accelerate time-to-value.
Ultimately, these:
Increased onboarding completion rate by ~10%
Increased activation rate by ~20%;
Decreased time it took to achieve the "aha! moment" by ~39%
Here’s an actionable guide on the five tactics we implemented to improve our product onboarding:
1) Reverse trial directly into our highest-tier plan
Companies often find themselves wrestling with the choice between offering a Trial or adopting a Freemium model. As Elena Vera says: “opt for neither, because Reverse Trials are simply.. better.” A reverse trial lets the product do the talking rather than gatekeeping with marketing lingo. It also helps customers test-drive plans that best fit their use case — without the paradox of choice. What we did:
Avoid overwhelming users by focusing on only highlighting core features up-front
Nudge users to try premium features based on usage or time-based triggers
Clearly indicate what happens at the end of the reverse trial (i.e. downgrade to freemium with limited features)
2) Use social proof everywhere
Communicate benefits through customers' voices – not just your own. This helps build trust, credibility and authority, which are crucial to their willingness to invest time and complete onboarding. What we did:
Added social proof throughout our entire product onboarding flow
Tied specific social proof to specific pages (team-based testimonial on “invite your team” page)
Linked use cases emails with case studies that map directly to the one mentioned
3) Force users to experience our "aha moment"
When building a complex product with many bells and whistles, it can be challenging to surface key features intuitively. Since our “aha” moment is tied to creating a Supademo, we “forced” users to as one of their first onboarding steps. What we did:
Make the first recording semi-mandatory during onboarding, removing paradox of choice
Automatically enable and apply features meant to “wow” users or drive virality by default. You have limited time to impress new users!
It's commonly accepted that team-based, collaborative SaaS platforms like Slack tend to have higher retention and lower churn. Lateral usage in the org = wider surface area for penetration, more use cases and higher odds of reaching an internal champion. What we did:
Automatically show matching workspaces based on domain – with an option to request access, auto-join “open” workspaces
Encourage users to invite right during onboarding — with the goal of converting them while at peak interest (i.e. initial onboarding)
Instead of dripping a handful of generic email sequences to every signup, we decided to add personalization via dynamic Supademos and product-triggered onboarding emails. With little effort, we get notified of our highest potential/most engaged leads while personalizing at scale. What we did
Welcome email with a personalized product tour at scale, using dynamic variables
Automated, plain text founder emails to drive responses and feedback
Emails when success metrics are met – with encouragement and clear next steps to guide to deeper adoption
Short, two-sentence feature tips weekly - spacing them out so it's less intrusive and helps us stay top-of-mind — while increasing odds of catching users at the right timing

So I love(d) Bethesda and was so excited for a set in space game. But I’m playing on XS and I’m so dismayed I may never buy a Bethesda game again. I have submitted four tickets without any response. The ticket is simply closed with a thank you for my feedback. For context, the following quests are unable to be completed by me.
Due in Full “Kill delinquent spacer ship orbiting Porrima III-a”. The spacer ship is not present. Even after flying for ten minutes around either side of the spawn point.
The Kindness of Strangers “Pick up the Patient from the Medbay”. The patient is not in the Medbay and the tracker sends me to Kay’s restaurant where once I engage dialogue with the patient, he was taken to jail.
Where Hope is Built “Go to Miatha” and “Go to Polvo’s Orbit”. The spacer ships are not at Polvo and the quest giver at Miatha has no further info except to go to Polvo’s orbit.
Family Renuion “return to Abe”. The ECS Constant is not in orbit. Weird, considering these people don’t have anywhere else to go to.
Escape from the Endless Voyage “Speak with Diana”. The ECS Constant is not in orbit. See 4.
Drydock Blues: Hopetech “Deliver 492 Aluminium for Inaya Rehman”. Despite having 200 Aluminum on my ship, she will tell me my ship is empty. I’ve tried bringing her the aluminum but she says it must be on my ship. I’ve also tried a cargo link. Doesn’t work.
Drydock Blues: Deimos Staryard “Deliver 429 Argon for Sandra Fullerton”. Same as 6, but different numbers. I have turned in some of the original order for 500.
Mantis I have completed all tasks but I am unable to claim the ship and the quest continues to be active. It’s too bad, because the mantis ship is supposed to be good for smuggling.
The Old Neighborhood “Go to Neptune”. I have gone to Neptune. I have flown around Neptune. There is no one here… WORSE? This quest needs to be completed to allow progression! I can’t even advance in the game and constantly have to deal with Sarah handing me roots and petals!
I have been a loyal fan of Bethesda since Fallout 3. Anytime in the past I’ve had an issue I’ve had quick responses to resolve the issues. But I have now tried four separate times to reach a resolution and the support has been awful. I have completed Bethesda’s troubleshooting steps to the best of my ability (reverting to an earlier save is simply not viable, as once I realized one quest was bugged I was weeks into my play file and my auto save was not sufficient). I love this game, but the level of support I’ve received is making me hate this game. Any other PS5 or XS people having these issues?

I'm trying to make the spiritual successor to Xwing for 90s DOS everyone craved, but Lucas Arts never delivered. I was also inspired by Wing Commander Privateer who's title led me to imagining building a giant fleet by buying more and more ships and making friends. It has a bunch of bugs but these will be fixed in a week or two. It's still pretty fun and a base by which a HUGE HUGE potential WOW killer will be made on. fairly long patch notes of a subset of what I plan on doing in the future are at the bottom.
I'm exhausted... I spent close to a year on this patch... And the last 3 months was nothing but sleep, code, sleep, code, body necessities, balanced against being stress sick, normal sick, and trying not to break down due to being isolated non stop working... About 2000 hours in this patch alone, on top of 10,000 hours in the past 6 years before that, and I use an anthology of game resources that took me 20,000 hours to make. There's some bugs due to Unity compiling standalone improper from editor, but they'll be fixed, as well as the story line not in... It's a spoiler, but people say my SCI FI is better than any scifi man's ever written, it's at least good:
