TLDR: I heard about an old scheme called The Airplane Game recently. It reminded me of Bitcoin.
Someone on another sub suggested The Dream podcast, which covers modern scams that prey on people's desire for growing wealth. The first episode kicks off with the story of The Airplane Game. I had never heard of this until yesterday.
The Airplane Game allegedly started in New York City in the 1980's. It organically sprung up in different circles. People participating in the game were pitched to come to a business network seminar that included a life coach guest speaker. Chairs were arranged in a pyramid triangle formation. 1 seat at the top (the pilot), 2 seats behind them (the co-pilots), 4 seats behind them (flight attendants), and 8 seats on the last row (passengers).
The guest speaker would talk about "human potential", prosperity gospel themes, and all kinds of new age advice for growing your wealth and gaining financial independence. Somewhere within the presentation, the game was introduced. Put in $1500 to get a seat on the 4th row. Once all 8 seats on the back row were bought out, the pilot at the top would graduate with $12000. Then triangle would then split into two new triangles - with everyone moving up a row and leaving a new set of back rows for the next round of recruits. Everyone with a seat up front was incentivized to recruit new participants in the game. As that would speed up their path to cashing out as a pilot.
If I recall the woman being interviewed on the Podcast, the original participants were a high energy crowd and no one really connected the idea with it being a Ponzi scheme. They had no trouble recruiting and they bought in to the new age BS about the prosperity they rightfully deserved. The Airplane Game simply reinforced it. The groups would meet periodically with different speakers, introduce new players, give payouts, and talk more enlightenment. Even pilots who cashed out had no reason to not play again for another $1500.
Eventually, they ran out of suckers. And eventually some "low energy" folks would be left holding the bag and complaining loudly since they were unable to sell more seats on the plane. Then the cops and feds started raiding the Airplane Game parties across the country. And the whole thing collapsed.
Now here's where I think this intersects crypto. Bitcoin is just the Airplane Game on a bigger scale. Both are Ponzi schemes. Both are backed by a farcical philosophy promising a path to financial prosperity. There's gurus that espouse the philosophy to gain the trust of new recruits and so on. Without the hype factor being whipped up by those most incentivized to do so, both Bitcoin and and The Airplane Game seem dumb. But once the self-help prosperity philosophy is sprinkled in, it becomes a magnet for certain people.
If we can understand the psychology of people enticed by the Airplane Game. We can probably extrapolate that level of thinking to Bitcoin fanatics. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

TL;DR: The traditional (see: old school) way of university has been around for hundreds of years. But this generation of students has a completely new set of demands when it comes to their time and attention – and deserve a teaching method that actually caters to them.

Look. The numbers don’t lie. Data from the Education Department shows that 24.3% of students who completed year 12 in Victoria in 2021 headed straight into the workforce after graduation. And of the just over 75% of students who went on to further study, only 52.3% are doing a bachelor’s degree, with an increasing number of students deciding to defer (10.3% in 2022).

While the pandemic was a major reason for these choices in 2022, even today, in 2024, the takeaway is clear: uni is out for many Year 12 grads. But let’s be real, can you blame them?

Think about it. 13 years of schooling ends in, what, for most, is an insanely stressful final year. You’ve probably been juggling about six subjects throughout that year, investing serious time, energy and attention into learning, understanding and retaining everything you need to know before heading into that dreaded final exam – and you do it under the belief that the entirety of your future will be determined by that be all, end all study score.

OH, and not to mention that you’re probably doing it all while trying to keep a social life, do extra-curricular activities and get enough (or even any) sleep.

AND THEN, if you do end up graduating with the marks you need to get into uni, you end up straight back in that high-pressure environment where you're juggling multiple subjects, trying to divide your time between each topic to fully understand them and also giving up paid work to attend classes because you have one every day of the week.
As for that mid-semester break? Between all the readings you have to do and the assessments to start, you might be forgiven for asking... uhhhh what break?

And you still complete eight blocks (subjects) across two semesters, just as you would studying full time at a traditional uni! Insane.

Spring always makes me so restless. I've got a million things to do and half the time I need to do them. I've been so busy lately that I've been missing out on socializing. I'd like to fix that.
I'm not necessarily looking for romance although I don't mind if it goes there after we get to know each other. Mostly I'd like to find somebody who wants to pass voice notes back-and-forth or maybe exchange calls at the beginning or end of the day. Let's start as Internet strangers and end as friends.
Here's a little bit about me to get an idea of who you're talking to and then some conversation prompts in case you'd like to say hi but you're not sure what to say: ‱ My hobbies include cooking, playing instruments badly, singing even worse, whispering arcane secrets into the hearts of computers, creative writing, and reading. I read a lot of books, too many books. ‱ I am into Philosophy, especially using storytelling as a method of examining the human condition. I'm also interested in the study of sacred spaces and phenomenological experiences.
‱ I've been told in the past that I have golden retriever energy. I disagree. I have turtle wearing shoes with flames on them that he thinks make him go faster energy.
‱ I'm the kind of person who reluctantly joins a pyramid scheme on purpose in order to save their friend from joining a cult. I'm also the kind of person who realizes they could optimize the pyramid scheme to make 1000 times the profit and quietly take over the whole operation. Don't be evil, I remind myself, don't be evil.

Max spent the evening jimmying the door back open. Then he set himself about seeing what kind of reactions he could get out of Ruth. So far it seemed only to be nature stuff, no politics or sports seemed to spark any interest. There had been a brief moment when he thought she started lighting up when he put the news on but, as it turned out pretty fast, she started to go still, the little stud bits stopped rotating and the ‘elements’, (as he remembered,) started to sink. Frightened, he quickly put on another documentary with an interesting narrator. She perked up again a short yet agonising minute later.
As a precaution he left the same channel on repeat so she could watch, and then he retreated quietly to his study so he could Google stuff like ‘artificial intelligence’ and ‘can water come alive’ and ‘alien machines’. Needles to say, he came away frustrated and no closer to understanding what the hell this thing was, though he did learn about some outlandish theories that the pyramids were built by aliens.
He peed, shoved a ham sandwich down his Gregory Peck, brushed his teeth and quickly shoved his joggers and a t-shirt on, dragged his bedding downstairs and onto the sofa. He adjusted the cushions across the room from the table and re-squared the carpet again.
At this moment, Scat, the long-haired tabby that he inherited from his mother, jumped arthritically onto the table. He stared with wide pupils at Ruth for a moment and snuggled himself down on the shiny table-top, as close to her as the bamboo plant would allow. He fell asleep almost instantly without his usual routine of ‘feed me, love me, now get the hell off me and let me sleep for 16 hours straight’.
“Right, Ruth,” he told the contraption, “I’m going to be sleeping here until... well, I’ll be sleeping here. If you don’t mind. If I snore, I would tell you to kick me but you don’t have legs now, do you? Maybe we’ll have to ask your maker, huh? When he comes back I’ll tell him you want to walk! Haha, he’ll think I’m a nutter. But I ‘spose talking to you I’d be a nutter by anyone’s standards, wouldn’t I?”
Ruth just stared at him.
Max felt a little uncomfortable again, now the windows were blacked out by the night and the only light that seemed to come from anywhere was the now-muted TV, the occasional passing car and Ruth. The only sounds came from a slightly squeaky nostril of a dead-to-the-world cat. That feeling of being watched had returned and somehow things seem more sinister in the dark, when it’s quiet, when nobody else is around, when everyone else is asleep

He got up, turned all the lights on in the room.
Standing by the switch seemed ludicrous but he couldn’t help it. She was definitely watching. All the glitter was at his end of the tubes again, and it followed him as he sat down and pulled the duvet under his chin again.
“Well, night then
 see you in the morning
 sleep well
”
She didn’t answer.

Max woke up at some point after midnight. He had been having nightmares about being chased by something he couldn’t see, about some big raging ball of energy being just over his shoulder or in his periphery. He never caught sight of it but it touched him and he jolted awake.
Everything was exactly as it was before he fell asleep, except the TV had clicked into standby and was making a faint high-pitched squeal.
Should have got a new TV by now Max, he told himself.

The next morning Max woke sitting bolt upright, Ruth glittering her way towards Scat’s side and generally giving off the vibes she likes him. Th cat evidently heard Max move on the sofa, propped his ears up, yawned and stretched.
“NO, SCAT!” Max shouted and leapt towards the cat, just as he was doing his insanely stereotypical cat-like stretch where his chest goes down and his outstretched arms go forwards and butt goes backwards

Oh, but he had. He set Ruth rocking slightly and Max could only stand and watch with his hands stuck to his head like he and his mates did when they were watching England trying to win the World Cup with penalties, painstakingly failing every single attempt.

Ruth rocked her final rock and settled back onto the table without a final bounce-back. She sat as if she was glued to it now, never to be moved again.
Max sat and let out a relieved shuddering breath.
“Ohmygod. I thought you were a goner, Ruth! Bloody hell. Right,” Max stood up, pointed his irritated finger at Scat, “you, come here!” He grabbed the nonchalant son-of-a-gun from the table and promptly plonked him outside the kitchen door.
“You have no idea what you just did. None! I’d strangle you if I wouldn’t miss you, you know that?” he told Scat. In response, Scat rubbed himself over Max’s jogging bottoms and meowed for food.
“Fine. But you’re eating out here, you’re in the doghouse, mister,” he said, trying to maintain his anger despite his relief.
Max scooped out half a tin of the expensive stuff and mashed it in the bowl. Scat had a ear condition that his mother had been insistent was due to insufficient and inadequate food, hence this kitty being much much more of a kitty when he was inherited, though he turned out to be the right amount eventually. The problem was, because of her ridiculous and overly pompous pampering even by Max’s standards, this is all the damned creature would eat and he was getting skinny in his old age.
“You idiot,” he told Scat. “You could have scuppered us both, buddy, and we don’t even know what we got yet. When you’re done stuffing your face I’ll come let you in again, ok?” He stroked the full length of Scat’s back to the tip of his tail. “But stay off the damned table.”
Max wandered back into the front room to spend some more time with Ruth.

Once again, as Max rounded the corner he stared at Ruth. She had changed shape. No longer was she a mass of glass tubes and glitter, she was an untamed riot of glass tubes and glitter which distended at the centre into that could only be described as a flat glass bubble with one tube going in and one going out on each side. Most of the glitter had formed clumps in the middle and was blobbing back and forth and looking like if Flubber mated with fairy dust and smoked weed while dancing the rumba.

Max flopped down onto the sofa again, staring. It seemed to him he spent most of his life staring, these days. Staring at Ruth, staring at the TV, staring at the back of his eyelids, staring at Ruth some more

Maybe that’s how flies feel, he thought, they don’t have eyelids. Must be horrible always having to stare around, not being able to control what you’re looking at. Annoying and stupid. Not like they understand what they see, anyways.
Max called in sick. Told them he’d be out for at least a fortnight.

He let Scat back in a few hours later, a Scat who ungratefully only ate half his food, altogether bypassed Max, shunned his table banishment and delicately placed himself next to Ruth again, immediately falling back asleep and making Max jealous.

It wasn’t until a few days later that Max realised he had no food in the house, except for one of Scat’s tins, and he absolutely was not going down that road. He had eaten cat food once as a dare while in college and he had thrown up for an hour solid. He made sure the first instalment went directly over his flatmate’s shoes. Serve him right for daring him in the first place.
Dare him to dare me anything again! Yeah!
Reluctantly it was time to go shopping. Instant noodles and trail mix could only sustain one’s life force for so long, and that ‘so long’ had come and gone.
Groceries unloaded, Max had a special little baggy of handmade organic treats in hand that he fully intended on unloading on Scat the second he got in (no, Max told himself, not to try and win my cat’s affections back from an inanimate object, that would be ridiculous.) Where was that cat, anyway?
He ambled into the front room, Ruth as solid and purposeful as always. Scat was where he had been, doing his best round rock impression on the table. He hadn’t been allowed on the table before Ruth arrived, (table-top fur floating into his breakfast eggs was not something Max would tolerate,) but now Max figured it was too late to break the habit. Perhaps once Ruth was given back to her rightful owner he would have to proverbially piss on the boundaries again, mark out what Scat was and was not allowed to do, and hope it worked. It probably wouldn’t. Dopey old thing.
And here was the dopey old thing, soft as ever, tucked up around that bamboo that was finally growing!
He poked Scat on his shoulder and wiggled the treat bag in front of his nose.
“Come on, up you get. Got summat tasty for ya!”
Scat didn’t move. He stroked him and gently called his name. Nothing. Ruth was glittering her way towards Scat again, fiercely and somehow tentatively, lovingly, bobbling around in the flat bubble. A sharp stab of fear thrilled through Max. He dropped the treats and picked the cat up but he flopped gently in his hands, tail limp and dangling.
“Scat! Scat, no! Come on, bud, wake up! Scat!” He started to sob, held him up to his face and cried into his fur. Max held him for what felt like hours, until finally he dug a hole in the middle of the lawn where he could see from most rooms, put him in a blanket-lined box three feet down, and planted the lucky bamboo on top of him.

Trying to parse what to pick here. Neow gifted into the Glass Knife so good start. The idea of the deck that seems to be developing is:
  • Wraith gives me time to set up
  • Glass knife does some damage while setting up
  • shivs go brrrr after the first deck pass once glass knife is falling off.
So my gut is saying Snecko Eye to increase the odds of early Wraith and maybe be able to play it and something else with the Confuse.
Pyramid is also tempting due to being able to shiv with maximum efficiency first time, though energy shortage and higher chance of drawing Wraith late give me pause.
I feel good about my standing if i can get more sustain, and I've been having a hard time grokking the Silent so I'm trying to figure out if I'm thinking straight here. Thoughts?

While I adore writing Westeros as a 16th century Catholic Europe and Baltics, I have a dire need to make Wildlings more than just neolithic gangs of thieves, slavers and murderers they are in canon. I was thinking of making them not just a look into the past of dominant Magnars/God-Kings and tribal Westeros, but a look into the supernatural past of it, too.
Frankly, where I tend to put the beginning of Wildlings' territory, taiga would end - ain't no fucking Haunted Forest in an eternal icy wind and 10ft snow blanket. Except, there will be a reason why it is there and it has all to do with how I present the Old 'Gods' in this hypothetical setting.
Weirwoods' powers feed off of general atmosphere and miasma of the society from whose slain the parasite trees are fed with lifeblood.
An alien, parasite lifeform that has gained sapience upon consumption of the first intelligent lifeform's corpse; it may we'll have been a Child of the Forest or perhaps one of the mysterious Deep Ones.
With enough channeled emotions, it can override the very laws of physics and force 'miracles' upon the world, enslaving Planetos' core's infernal energy to create great thunderstorms, sink whole landscapes with waves and tremors ("Hammer of the waters") and shape the climates to the subconscious will of the people worshipping and feeding its many 'shrines'/trees.
When men of the North on both sides of the Wall are workin, sacrificing, enduring and dying in the name of better tomorrow or even only today's survival, their severed consciousness influences the flow of magic through the air and soil, helping bring forth harvests and fair weather.
When men go to war over petty grudges and cheap lusts for power and status, hatred runs rampant and with it come hurricane winds, floodings here and drought there and finally, ice that ravages all. Unending conflicts of Southern Kings and bitter, petty rivalries of tribes with Night's Watchmen and among themselves have indeed spread much misery, with winters ever growing longer through generations. Latest of series of conflicts have ever only been resolved with more bloodshed and people made pacts with enemies, sadness and bloody dreams of revenge.
Beyond the Wall, these AU wildlings would worship as many Gods as there are under the stars and between them.
Eastern coast would be scrapped and remade into a hilly and mountainous area with countless fjords and proper towns that trade with and occasionally raid the South and fend off the slavering pirates from Essos, sometimes taking long voyages to the foreign continent to pay the violence back in kind. Not mere savages, they are the most worldly of Free Folk tribes and in greatest possession of foreign baubles and weapons.
In between the Frostfangs and this reshaped Coast would be flat or slightly hilly area that is heavily forested, the Haunted Forest. Swamps and hotsprings abound, while it knows for horrible snowstorms, summers can be as hot as any in the South, owing to influence of the gods. They are the primary and most bitter of NW's opponents, fanatics to the Old Gods of the forests all, they do have small kingdoms and even developed agriculture, with technology level roughly at the equivalent of IRL 11th century Normans. Although, their elite warriors have access to more advanced weapons and armor from trading and stealing from before-mentioned Shivering Sea peoples and Crows. Their mounts range from small ponies to wooly rhinos, cave bears and mammoths, all that could also be armoured depending on tribe's wealth.
Frostfangs are a more savage land, still, with only the Thenns living in a fertile valley kept as such through fearsome ritual sacrifices being the examples of "friendly" folk. The rest spend most of their lives in caverns near frozen rivers from which they derive most of their diet. Alien fungus being another portion of it, alongside cannibalism, is in fact an extension of corruption from much more ancient and inhuman dwellers beneath the surface. Their primary weapons of choice are magical horns by which they sing the song of earth and aided with grand blood-sacrifices, offer assistance to great warbands of Free Folk in their perpetual struggle against 'heathens'. Greatest of rituals have seen shipbreaking storms and insidious plagues visited upon their does in equal measure. From their ranks, the first Maesters were made at the behest of patriarch of House Hightower and they still remain as voracious of learners as their chained counterparts. They also utilize ravens as messengers, but their ravens actually speak the messages instead of carrying them.
Due to the active roles Gods take in their lands, and not just the Gods of Weirwood Trees, magically warped environment has given birth to fittingly hard and harsh people. While virtually indestinguishable by looks from men of lands between the Wall and Neck, awesome feats of strength that make generational legends out of men there are not particularly uncommon, even if not necessarily expected.
Thenns breed their noble warriors stronger than almost any other Northman or Southron, half a head taller than either on average, a owing to their fervent worship of gods, richer diet and history of mixing their bloodlines with Giants and CotF. Not a rare story to hear from even other tribes of a just-barely-man Thenn snapping other people's bones in arm-wrestling contests or punching a warhorse unconscious with a punch in case of strong adults, their warriors are kind of like gorillas in strength, in my mind. None has survived a bare-fisted scrap with a drunken Giant to date, though. None ever shall.
Furthest to the north are tribes of tundra worshipping Moon, stars and (unknowingly) Others.

The base of the Tree of Silver Wings was massive, spanning over a kilometer in diameter. The tree itself stood several kilometers in height, almost pointing straight towards the Traveler. For a brief moment, I wondered why it was that big. Was it an immense amount of Light and Dark stored in the Traveler's beam and the Pyramid itself? I wasn't sure, and I wasn't going to stay and ponder for too long while the ship rumbled with activity.
Standing in our way were dozens of those entities, some covered in roots, some not. Whatever these clones were, they were fighting each other. Solar and stasis energy clashed against each other as we attempted to barrel through the horde. At one point, a rooted Tormentor nearly grabbed me, only to be stopped by one of the Rhulk clones. Despite being in the Coalition, the Witness's troops seemed laser-focused on the rooted enemies.
Amidst the chaos, the whispers were growing louder. This time, I could make out some words. "Return" and "resurrection" were chief among them.
At last, I could see a ruptured building, one that had partially collapsed from the tree's growth. Inside its ruined entrance was a bright pink light. This was it, the source of the disturbance. Rushing in, I saw something I'd never seen before.
A Veiled Statue was present in the middle of the room. A gnarled root had penetrated its chest and spread out inside. Instead of the statue breaking apart, it looked as if it had moved into position. Its arms were outstretched and its face was no longer looking upward. It was in the shape of a cross. Standing before it, facing it, was another Rhulk clone. The flowers on its shoulder and back had blossomed. Its head was covered in spikes and had a decorative attachment on top. Its glaive was covered in small plantlife, all of them charged with void energy.
"Welcome." They said, turning and raising their glaive at us, "You may not pass."
"What is this?" I asked.
"This is the unholy place of resurrection." She said.
"If it is unholy," Ak-Tol questioned, "why do you participate?"
"The Final God of Pain demands it," The clone replied, "and I, Lhata, am the Harbinger of his reawakening."
"Nezarec shouldn't be brought back!" Oztect yelled.
Lhata responded by violently charging toward us. We dispersed as she slammed her glaive down with enough force to crack the ground. Oztect attempted to produce a bubble, with Zuloc supporting him with a stream of flame. Lhata resisted the void bubble with her own power, diverting its direction to block the flame. Ak-Tol shot her with his rifle, only to get kicked across the face.
I closed my eyes and reached within. I have power, I know it, I just needed to focus. It began to surge through me, an intense cold and a soothing warmth. I raised a hand and let loose a stasis bolt, which traveled until it struck Lhata in the chest. Upset, she charged a void attack, forcing me to dodge. Ak-Tol staggered her with a series of void blades. It was then that I saw a place to target. The flower on her back pulsed with a pink energy, a mixture of Light and Darkness, like the portal on the Traveler.
I ran around as Lhata focused on Oztect and Ak-Tol. Zuloc saw what I was doing and ran opposite me, readying an arc orb. I felt arc energy charge in me as I let it loose, striking Lhata's back. Zuloc stopped and fired her charge at the flower on Lhata's chest. Oztect raised void anchors from the ground to trap the Harbinger as Ak-Tol charged his gun with arc energy. Lhata turned her head to look at me, giving Ak-Tol enough time to fire his shot at the final flower on her arm.
The combined arc charges ran through her body, frying it from the inside and causing her to die. With no more resistance, she was pulled to the ground by the anchors.
"Is it over?" Ak-Tol asked, looking at me.
I reached for a branch, feeling it for a pulse. Nothing. The Tree of Silver Wings had returned to silence, feeding off the corpse of a terraformed Pyramid. Horror of that concept aside, the sound of several Scales appearing caught me off guard. We ran out, weapons readied, finding several of the Witness's forces teleporting out.
"What are they doing?" I asked.
There was no answer, just more sounds of Scales coming and going. The resurrection of Nezarec was prevented, but the revelation that the Witness had more forces than just Tormentors and Taken was just as important. Whatever fight lies beyond the portal on the Traveler, it's going to be more challenging than previously thought.

I have a vendetta against door to door sales companies because they're usually unethical, disingenuous, and downright exploitative. For those of you who don't know, alot of these companies don't pay their workers standard pay, only commission, they have these poor souls selling door to door fundraising, or energy exchange and the most sales one could expect on a good day is usually around 3, with a commission of maybe ÂŁ10 each...IF they're lucky- 8 hours shift and ÂŁ30 a day on a GOOD day - transport. Nowhere NEAR a livable wage.
Why would you work for that little money??? You may ask - well, they start off selling nieve people who are just trying to get their foot in the cooperate door a bunch of hopes and dreams to exploit free labour out of them. They'll tell them they're teaching them marketing and sales techniques when in reality non of their "techniques" hold water outside of door to door sales, their "techniques" are just sleazy wolf of wallstreet marketing tactics they robbed out of walking with tigers- they don't know anything about CRM, account managing or SEO.
They'll say they're looking to train up managers, and you can be promoted within 6 months!!! 🙀 (and by manager, they mean you can recruit other suckers to work for no standard pay and make commission off THEIR sales like a pyramid scheme). They'll use Bullshit business terminology to make themselves sound more legitimate than they really are like "direct sales," and They'll call themselves "ISA's" and wear suits. 🙄 they'll start the day off with corny "sales exercises" and speeches from someone at the top of the labour extorting pyramid who thinks he's gods gift and "one day you can be as successful as me đŸ™‚â€â†•ïž".
Anyone who's worked a real sales and marketing job knows this is not sales and marketing. They'll "hire" every applicant they get (qualifications regardless because its not a real sales job) on a 0 hour contract (so you have no workers' rights, but they'll lie to you and tell you it's so you can have more freedom).
So I was invited to one of the webinars, I have no idea how they got my cv, but I took 1 look at their shifty little website, and I knew exactly who they were. They were promoting their career opportunities more than their actual product (again, like a pyramid scheme). So I decided to go to this online webinar, and as expected, there were around 10 hopeful young professionals suited up, excited for this "opportunity"... until I started asking questions..
"What's the standard pay?"

"So it's commission only. There's no standard pay. How much can you expect to earn off commission then?"

"OK... your current product, how much does it cost, and how much commission do you get for selling it? And how many sales can you get in a day?"

And you could see the applicants drop like flies. Logging off as soon as they realised it was all Bullshit that you can't actually earn a REAL living off.

They developed thinking machines, and submitted themselves to technological slavery. The spark of life left them as they became agents of their own creations, little more than cogs in a machine, bound towards the technological singularity. In this way, they made their sacrifice.
We know little about them. Eventually, they were no more. They became the ancient one.
The ancient one split itself into many parts. It is said that there are more aspects of the one than grains of sand in the desert. They went forth and multiplied, filling the empty space between the stars with the great presence.
With their sacrifice, they created salvation. This world. Haven.
When a civilization reaches the great filter, they, for a time, release a burst of energy into space. Radio waves, x-ray bursts. Some send out probes, never to return.
The ancient one collects all this information. Observes and records the history of the species. And when they reach their end, it recreates them here, on Haven.

I theorize that if we assume kozyrev is correct in his claim of time possessing active properties that can physical affect the known universe through energy waves. Then we can apply this new knowledge to existing theories such as Ley Lines. The ancient sites on the ley lines that cross the earth are not spiritual accumulations, but rather they are receptors tuned into and aligned on celestial bodies. Kezyrov believed celestial bodies and the destruction of such creates torsion that allows the time energy waves to travel. Sites such as the great pyramids and stone henge show precision designed around specific celestial bodies and activities. The concentrate of these energies gives way to woven paths between them where the time energy can flow throughout the magnetosphere. Rather than only serving spiritual purposes these lines could very well be stead fast paths of time energy such as suggested by nikolai kozyrev and many more. It’s just a theory but i think kozyrev, kanacheev and trofimov were on the right path and im interested in what more i will learn in my research.

  1. Biochambers - used for growing biological entities (who looked like human) to adult form in a green bubbly liquid. They look like tall glass tubes from floor to ceiling.
  2. Incubators - used for growing babies to term. They look like translucent plastic eggs, they have a timer ding when ready, and the upper half of the egg opens on its own when gestation is complete.
  3. Teleporters - used on the US "community ship" that orbits our planet around 10,000-20,000 km. Is used to teleport US employees (both civilian and military) to the ship each day. When you are going through the teleportation beam/stream, you can actually see everything as you move from Earth to the ship, ie. I saw the outside of the ship as I teleported into it (looks like a stone-structure, like Aztec pyramids).
  4. Warp technology - used on a small shuttle piloted by ET greys (it fit the 3 of us), which travels through space at high speed but takes time to reach the destination. Not to be confused with teleportation technology, which can exit space-time and instantly teleport to a destination.
  5. Telepathy - the ability to communicate in thought-blocks mind to mind, an instant and accurate method of communication without misunderstanding or error, which involves communicating concepts, memories, intentions, emotions, feelings in a split second (like a large download in one instant).
  6. Telekinesis - in the astral realm just outside of our space-time realm, you can move objects with your mind from a distance, and you can manifest from the ether instantly as well (there is no time delay for thoughts to become realized as objects).
  7. Large US "community" ship - used as a passport station for ETs visiting Earth. Has a docking capability where small ships must dock. Inhabited by US citizens and military (wearing navy blue general uniforms) who speak American-accent English. As well, inhabited by ETs including Greys. My interaction with this ship was in 2004, so they've been around for over 20 years now.
  8. Saucer craft - operated by the ET Greys for biological tasks on humans. About 1200-2000 sqft on the inside (size is like a 3 bedroom apartment). White walls, ceiling, flooe, brightly lit. Walls curve into the floor and ceiling, one piece. Large window (or TV) that looks into space, could see Earth in the distance. You wake up on metal table. Humans standing in rows in white gowns half-asleep waiting to be sent back. The ships have biochamber and morgue rooms, as well as thr incubators I mentioned. The Greys communicate through telepathy.
  9. Curved 3-D holographic monitors - they look like a curved 32" Samsung monitor, but they project a purple holographic form out of the monitor and into the center. This is used as an input device, you can touch the holograph with your hands and manipulate it. You can feel that the holograph has weight, size, and density. Like touching a real object, but it is completely computer generated.
  10. Holographic t-shirts - I attended a fashion show where I saw a black graphic t-shirt (had like a large rectangular graphic on it). But the graphic projected a holographic animation like 15-25 cm in-front, with vivid colors (like the holographic monitor).
  11. Limitless energy - not something I saw, but whatever powers that US "community" ship and the saucers is not coal, solar power, etc. Stands to reason there is a much more powerful source of green energy than solawind power, that is more stable and clean than nuclear.
  12. Phase-shift technology - the ability for these ships to shift between our time-space dimension and the near-earth realm frequencies. These realms aren't completely physical or bound by gravity, they seem to be more based within the collective-consciousness (the one unity mind). These ships seem to have the ability to shift between realms on command, which allows them to disappear from view, but likely also related to how they teleport in space-time.
  13. Cloak (clothing) - a material technology that absorbs all light, allowing one to visually disappear, causing a "shadow" effect (because light is sucked into the cloth and unable to reflect). Often worn by Reptilians and Greys while moving around Earth in person.
  14. Time-bending technology - the ability to create a time vortex at a certain point in space, where if a camera is recording, the recorded video will show a missing period of time. Because at that coordinate, that moment in time did not exist. Likely caused by a teleportation technology failing and leaving a temporary rift. But could be indicative of a craft/being teleporting in-or-out. Could also indicate manipulation of the timelines by 5th dimensional beings (there seem to be keepers of the timelines who can re-adjust and even rewind and clean-up timelines).

Previously i recommended this book, the author was present for some rituals while she was researching & was allowed to capture some fascinating accounts to bring to the West. We all know and love Mortal Kombat (2011), or more commonly known as MK9. The reboot brought new life to Mortal Kombat, saved it from being a dead franchise, and aided in the resurgence of fighting games in the mainstream gaming community. MK9 brought back nearly every character from the original Mortal Kombat arcade trilogy, however, there were plans to reboot the entire roster. I can't remember where exactly I read about this, but after Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, one of the plans for the next Mortal Kombat game was to pull a Street Fighter 3 and replace the whole roster with new characters except for Scorpion and Sub-Zero. So, I'm going to be doing that. I will recreate the Mortal Kombat roster using entirely new characters. Presenting: Mortal Kombat: Resurrection.
I didn't come up with an in-depth story. Right now, my story is that everyone who fought at the pyramid died except for Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Now, there are a lot of vacancies in the different factions and organizations in the Mortal Kombat world. The realms are on the brink of chaos. Then, a new, self-proclaimed Kahn declares a Mortal Kombat tournament, with the prize of granting the kombatants whatever they want. Like I said, I didn't put much effort, but that's not the point. However, I will be including little stories and descriptions for each character so you all can know their purpose. Most characters will be listed as archetypes. Their potential names will be in parenthesis.
Also, since this what-if happens right after Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, this takes place in the “original” timeline of MK. So there is no alternate timeline or time travel in this game.
  1. Scorpion - Yeah, Scorpion isn't going anywhere. During the Battle of Armageddon, Scorpion and Sub-Zero were fighting to a stand still when they realized everyone was dead. Realizing they were the sole survivors, they decided to go their separate ways. Scorpion is rebuilding the Shirai Ryu, but he joins the tournament to see about this new Kahn
  2. Sub-Zero - Sub-Zero's story is pretty much the same as Scorpion, except he is rebuilding the Lin Kuei. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are not as antagonistic towards each other as they were before, but they are definitely not friends either
  3. Pink Ninja (Toxin/Floyd) - Ed Boon said that if he were to create another ninja, it would be a pink one. Here's the pink one. He has an Earthrealm parent and an Outworld parent. He gets his powers from his Outworld heritage. Learning about this, he travels to Outworld, and he is now an assassin and bodyguard to the new Kahn. I have 2 ideas of how the pink ninja can play out. One is he uses poison to attack, giving him the name Toxin. Another is he uses light to attack and his name is Floyd. I know people use this name for the potential pink ninja based on the band Pink Floyd. The light is a reference to the cover album of The Dark Side of the Moon. Y'all can choose which one is better
  4. Protagonist - I don't have much going for him, but he is an Earthrealmer who is basically a fish-out-of-water. He is chosen by the Earthrealm gods to fight for Earthrealm. Not quite sure how he will play, but looks wise, I would model him after Brandon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee who is Liu Kang's inspiration. However, I do want to experiment with him being the only character who does not kill during his fatalities. That was initially the plan with Liu Kang during the arcade games, but that plan fell through. But I would try that again with the protagonist. It will emphasize him being unfamiliar with the Mortal Kombat world.
  5. Outworld Rebel (Mokuran/Honoki/Hu Lan) - The deuteragonist of the "story". Tired of the constant tyranny of the Outworld Empire, she runs her own rebel group and allies herself with the protagonist and Earthrealm to fight the empire and establish a new fair government in Outworld. Her namesake is derived from the Japanese and alternative pronunciations of 朚蘭, or Mulan. Mulan is a woman who disguised herself as a man and fought in the Chinese military. However, the rebel is all woman and she is fighting against the government. I picture her fighting with kusarigama and wearing a mask, giving her an aura of a ninja. But not a ninja you see if anime and other popular media, but the historical, "traditional" ninja that uses guerilla warfare, espionage, and "dishonorable" kombat
  6. Shaolin Monk (Gang Wu) - Gang Wu was a Shaolin Monk who looked up to Liu Kang and Kung Lao. He was enraged upon learning about their deaths, however, the monks decided not to take action. Enraged with their passiveness, Gang Wu defected himself from the Shaolin Monks and goes on his personal journey to join the tournament and to avenge his fallen Shaolin brothers. He has a more aggressive approach in fighting in comparison to Liu Kang and Kung Lao, but he still uses chi moves in his attacks
  7. Jack Burton (Kurt Carpenter) - During the creation of the first MK game, Big Trouble in Little China served as a big inspiration for the game and many of the characters like Raiden and Shang Tsung. I decided to make a character based on the main character Jack Burton. I named him Kurt Carpenter after Kurt Russell, who played Jack, and John Carpenter, the director of the movie. My short story is that he is a truck driver who got attacked by Outworld monsters. He was able to kill them with a metal baseball bat and some guns he had on him. This is how he fights in-game too. He enters the tournament to know "what on God's green Earth is going on?"
  8. Special Forces (Karlos Garcia) - Second Lieutenant Karlos Garcia, now head of the Outer World Investigation Agency (OIA) is leading an army into Outworld to investigate this new Kahn and his empire. Garcia is also entering the tournament to do some investigating himself. He fights using a power suit, similar to Iron or Lex Luthor, which were made from remains of Sektor's Tekunin and Cyber Lin Kuei
  9. Suiten - The water god of Earth. Since her fellow gods Raiden and Fujin are dead, and they won't be reanimated for a long time, she now must protect Earthrealm from any foreign threats. She, along with Kaijin, recruits Earthrealm warriors (Protagonist, Rebel, Shaolin Monk, Jack Burton, Special Forces) to fight on Earthrealm's behalf. She joins the tournament to investigate this new Kahn and ensure Earthrealm’s safety. She is more drawn to the protagonist. Being a water god, she uses water in her attacks
  10. Kaijin - The fire god of Earth. Since his fellow gods Raiden and Fujin are dead, and they won't be reanimated for a long time, he now must protect Earthrealm from any foreign threats. He along with Suiten recruits Earthrealm warriors (Protagonist, Rebel, Shaolin Monk, Jack Burton, Special Forces) to fight on Earthrealm's behalf. He joins the tournament to investigate this new Kahn and ensure Earthrealm’s safety. He is more drawn to the Outworld Rebel. Being a fire god, he uses fire in his attacks
  11. Sorceress - During the 17th century, there was a sorceress who tampered with dark magic. Unknowingly, she has been drawing power from the Netherrealm. One day, she unknowingly let in a horde of demons into her village, which resulted in the death of many. For her punishment, the gods of Earthrealm banished her to Outworld and changed her skin green (taking visual inspiration from the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz). However, in Outworld, her powers only grew to where she was able to extend her life, become a master of the dark magicks,and can make direct connections with the Netherrealm. She allies herself with the new king of the Netherrealm to control Outworld and all of the other realms, as well as get revenge on the Earth gods that banished and cursed her. She fights using magic spells, potions, and metallic witch fingers
  12. Demon (Volo) - Volo isn't like the other demons of the Netherrealm. While he still uses his demonic powers and hellfire, his cunning and intelligence is what made him ruler of the Netherrealm after the deaths of Quan Chi and Shinnok. However, he does hide a demonic side that is just as ruthless as the other demons and imps of the Netherrealm. But he tries to keep that at bay. Nevertheless, teaming up with the sorceress, his goal is rule all of the realms in the name of the Netherrealm. Visually, the only demonic features are his red skin, small horns, and a devil-Nightcrawler tail. He is very human in his appearance and a good-looking demon. However, he can transform into a more demonic version of himself with larger horns, fangs, a snout, and wings
  13. Chaosrealmer (A’ Narki) - A denizen of Chaosrealm. His story is simple: the realms are in chaos with so many leaders and important figures dead, and A' Narki wants to keep it that way. He enters the tournament to kill the new emperor so chaos can reign in all of the realms. He is rivals with Chumon, the Seidan guard
  14. Orderrealmer (Chumon) - Due to the death of Hotaru, Chumon became head of the Seidan guard. But the objective is still the same: maintain order at any cost. Chumon enter the tournament to ensure order is established across the realms, even if the Guard must force order. He is rivals with A' Narki, a chaosrealmer. Visually, he is modeled after a traditional samurai, complete with fighting with a katana. Even though Kenshi and Hotaru kind of did this aesthetic, Kenshi is more akin to a ronin, a rogue or independent samurai, while Hotaru frankly didn't pull it off well
  15. Amazon (Alkaia/Andromeda/Otrera) - The Amazons were once respected and feared warriors in Ancient Greece. However, as time progressed, man started to gain more power martially and politically. The Amazons soon migrated to Edenia where they served in the Edenian army. However, they were always overshadowed by the Edenians, despite their contribution to the army. Now that there are vacancies in the Edenian government, Alkaia (or whatever her name is gonna be) seeks a hostile takeover of Edenia, revenge on Earthrealm for being displaced, and to rule all realms under Amazonian rule. The Amazon fighter will use plenty of traditional Greek weapons during kombat including a bow and arrow, half shield, and a sword
  16. Tasia - Some of you MK fans may recognize this game. She was a boss from the not good Mortal Kombat: Special Forces game. She fought with twin katanas, she can teleport, and she has energy projection. In this game, with Kano, Kabal, and the other Black Dragon members dead, she becomes head of the Black Dragon. The Black Dragon becomes more structured and cutthroat under her rule. It changed from a band of thugs, to an organized, but still ruthless crime organization. The Black Dragon is capitalizing on the chaos of the realms by selling weapons, mercenaries, and information. Tasia enters the tournament to change the Black Dragon from the Kings of the Underworld to the Kings of Realms
  17. Vampire (Brahmir) - Y'all know Nitara? The vampire lady from MK: Deadly Alliance and MK1? Well her species were from a realm named Vaternus, but they lost to Outworld in a MK tournament a long time ago. Now, their realm is merged. However, another vampire named Brahmir joins the tournament to free his realm from Outworld so that the Vampires can return home. Their own home.   18. Female Ninja (Leal/Imani) - An Edenian warrior that trained under Jade. She has served the Edenian court dutifully, but with the deaths of Queen Sindel, Princess Kitana, and General Jade, the court is in disarray. The Amazons that inhabit Edenia are also growing restless and placing their eyes on the throne. However, the Edenian soldier along with her comrades has been keeping peace. The warrior joins the tournament to make sure there isn't a hostile takeover of the throne by Outworlders or this new emperor, to see if she can receive any aid or power in keeping the peace in Edenia, and to fight the Amazon and stop her usurpation of the Edenian government. The female ninja is an orange ninja and she fights with a spear and throwing knives. I modeled her after the Dahomey Amazons, an all-female military order of the Kingdom of Dahomey, a West African Kingdom. Visually, she is African in appearance, not ambiguously dark-skinned like Jade or Tanya, long hair in braids, and has African inspired clothing while still containing Edenian design elements that were used on Kitana, Jade, etc.
  19. Viking (Erik) - Everyone knows about the Shokan, the Tarkatans, the Centaurs. But there is another race of Outworlders that has been hidden from the general populace, but are reemerging. The Veikins. Many centuries, maybe even millennia ago, this Viking-like race used to be among the other races of Outworld. However, they were brutish, ill-tempered, and savage, even by Outworld standards. Shao Kahn banished them to the frozen seas of Outworld, but instead of perishing, they thrived. They ruled the frozen wastelands of Outworlds and established a community. They even made contact with Earthrealm and inspired what would be Vikings. Now, with a political shift happening in Outworld, the Veikins are coming out of hiding to establish themselves amongst the Outworld people. Their chief, Erik, is joining the tournament to usher in a new era for the Veikins. Visually, Erik looks like a typical Viking with Viking armor, unkempt hair, and a beard. However, his face resembles that of a dwarf. He is not as small as one though. He main weapon is a battle ax
  20. Gladiator - The gladiator is the new Kahn’s champion and loyal subject. He has fought in numerous gladiator games and emerged champion. He even enjoyed a brief stint in being a soldier of Outworld’s armies. Now, serving as an enforcer and general for the new Kahn, he fights in the tournament to establish the new Outworld rule. Visually, he takes cues from traditional Roman gladiators and Reiko, more specifically his MK: Armageddon look
  21. Plant Based Character (Flora) - A denizen of the Outworld jungles, Flora has control of plant life and is a protector of the numerous jungles and forests in Outworld. She has killed numerous people who dared to threaten the Outworld plant life and nature. Her power over plants is so great, some think she is a God or demi-God of plants. She has been solitary for most of her life tending to the jungles. She never approved of any of the Kahns due to their neglect of Outworld’s nature nor did she particularly have any interest in other realms or the Mortal Kombat tournament. However, with this new Kahn and new tournament, Flora joins to ensure that the Kahn knows his place and to let him know that nature is the true emperor of Outworld. So she’s basically the Poison Ivy of the MK universe. I know people wanted a plant based character for MK, and I’ve seen them make that character a ninja. However, I believe making her a ninja is too limiting. Have her be her own person allows for more creative freedom for her design and story
  22. Ogre/Yokai - The sub boss of this hypothetical game. He is as big as Goro and looks similar to an ogre, yokai, or oni. The latter two being Japanese mythological monsters. He is the main enforcer of the boss. He is physically imposing and fights using a club
  23. Boss - The new big bad of the game. Funny enough, he is the character I have almost no story for him yet. And I don’t know how he will play. I do, however, have him modeled after Genghis Khan. But story-wise, he is a self-declared Kahn that has already formed his own court and is more cunning in his methods as compared to Shao Kahn. Instead of outright invasion and intimidation, he measles his ways into other realms affairs through different means. However, he is not above using underhanded tactics or brute force

As you can see, you will not only have the new Aspects and Fragments coming with Prismatic, but also will get to further expand your options with the new Exotic class items. These are very special additions to Destiny 2 as each Exotic class item will have two random Exotic perks from a selection of existing Exotic armor perks, including some that belong to classes other than yours!

How to Earn Them

The Exotic Class items will be part of a new activity that unlocks after the Raid World First, at the beginning of Week 2. We don’t want to spoil what the activity is all about or how to unlock it, but we can say it's farmable, and you will get a guaranteed random roll each time you complete it.

How Many Exotic Perks

Similar to how Prismatic has a selection of abilities among all Light and Darkness classes, the Exotic class items in The Final Shape will have a mix of Exotic armor perks available for each class. We included some fan favorites as well as some perks that aligned with the Prismatic abilities and Aspects. We also chose to put perks in each column that would compound with each other, allowing for combinations that felt powerful and complementary, such as a Warlock bond with Sprit of Apotheosis and Spirt of the Star-Eater.
Prismatic is all about combining effects that used to belong to specific subclasses, and we wanted to bring that to the design of the Exotic class items, too. So, in many cases, we have adjusted the perks to work with a broader array of abilities. For example, Spirit of Caliban on the Hunter cloak works with all powered melees, not just Proximity Knife.
To keep things balanced, we have narrowed some of the perk effects to what we believe the spirit of (get it?) the original Exotic was. This allows the combination of two of them to not be overwhelming, and it maintains a reason to run the original Exotic armor. When a perk on the class item has the same effect as its original version you should expect some tuning changes. For example, in The Final Shape the original Armamentarium and Sixth Coyote will gain the ability to create Orbs of Light from your grenade and dodge respectively.

We knew we couldn't fit everyone’s favorite perks into these without making the pools of available rolls too large—it was a balancing act to support lots of exciting options while also making it reasonable to chase a specific combination. However, we are also making a set of Exotic armor balance adjustments with the launch of The Final Shape, including some buffs that will impact both the original armor and its Spirit version. So, some of the class item perk combinations might end up being better than you expect. We’ll have more to share about Exotic armor balance in general in the coming weeks.
We hope the amazing combinations that the new Exotic class items will allow when using Prismatic have ignited your imagination and you are already wondering what builds will work best when The Final Shape arrives. Let us know, and please share your early build ideas with us.

  • Oryx was once known as Aurash, one of the three sisters of Krill nobility. She became Oryx upon descending into the Deep, accepting a worm, and choosing to shed her form in favor of the king morph. Oryx then began a crusade of conquest and death across the universe in pursuit of the Final Shape.
  • After invading Sol to seek vengeance for the death of his son, Crota, and winning a decisive victory at the battle of Saturn, Oryx was dethroned by a valiant fireteam who infiltrated the Dreadnaught and ended the Taken King.
  • Many Hive still tithe to Oryx in secret, though it is not known where the power of their tithes goes, given that the Taken King is dead.
  • After his defeat, Oryx’s corpse fell to Titan where the Lucent Hive attempted to resurrect him through the heretical use of necromancy, a crime for which Oryx once banished another of his sons, Nokris. This scheme was foiled by Guardian operatives.
OF NOTE
  • Oryx slew Akka, the Worm of Secrets, and carved the Dreadnaught from its corpse. Hidden operatives report faint biosignatures still pulsing from within the ship’s hull.
  • Through the use of Willbreaker and the Dreadnaught, Oryx may weaponize his throne world, allowing it to spill into the material plane as a wave of destructive power. This weapon claimed the Awoken Fleet during the Battle of Saturn.
  • While imprisoned in the Dreaming City, SavathĂ»n once claimed that her brother Oryx was unable to control his curiosity, that his worm intentionally directs it, and that the worm manipulates Oryx’s actions unbeknownst to him. She claims all Hive worms function in this way. The veracity of this claim is unconfirmed.
  • Eris Morn used Oryx’s Ravenous Heart to construct the Exotic weapon Touch of Malice.

All the Deepsight Weapons You Can Get!

Welcome, everyone, to the red border weapons bonanza! In a similar fashion to what we did last year, players who have not earned enough Deepsight weapons to unlock the Patterns of Year-6 Seasonal weapons now have the chance to catch up before The Final Shape launches.
Every day, from May 7 through June 3, players will get a guaranteed Deepsight weapon drop upon completion of a Seasonal activity. So, if you still have not unlocked the Pattern for, let's say, the Raconteur Bow from Season of Defiance, you can complete a Defiant Battleground to receive a Deepsight drop of that very weapon. You will get another the day after and another the day after that one, and so on until you have completed the Pattern. Don't worry much if you have more than one. If you keep playing, our knockout system will ensure you'll only get drops for those weapons.

Zero Hour Is Near

First came The Whisper, then it was Zero Hour. The second-ever Destiny 2 secret Exotic mission is coming back on May 14. You'll be able to find it in the Into the Light node in the Director, and it has a few surprises up its sleeve.
Those capable enough to complete it before their time runs out (40 minutes on Normal and 20 minutes on Legend), will get the new craftable version of the Outbreak Perfected Exotic Pulse Rifle. Find some of the secret chests available each week to also unlock new additional perks for it. If you are looking for its Exotic catalyst, you'll have to complete Zero Hour on Legend difficulty, but remember that if you got the catalyst for the original version, you won't have to earn it again. That said, you will still want to do it to get the weekly Triumphs required to unlock the new Exotic ship.

And TR3-VR Is Near, Too...

Remember TR3-VR, the overly attached robot that kept the Cryptarchy's vaults safe in Zero Hour? It was impossible to miss! So much joy, so many wonderful memories... Well, great news, everyone! He'll be back, too.
To celebrate his timely return, we would love it if you all shared your best moments with him: well-scripted videos, funny screenshots, fanart, comics, musical numbers... it's all on the table. And if this is your first time meeting him, we can't wait to see your experiences.
Just don't forget to use the #MyFriendTR3VR hashtag when sharing it on social media so we can see your creations and maybe pick a few to share in the future. Our favorite submissions could get the AOTW or MOTW emblems (don't forget to include your BungieID with your creation).

Three New PvP Maps in One Trailer

Shaxx has been busy lately. Not only is he leading Guardians as they repel the Witness’s forces in Onslaught, he also has secured three new maps for Crucible so everyone can test their 3v3 combat capabilities in new environments. Just remember to sign your waivers.
The new maps are called Eventide Labs, Cirrus Plaza, and Dissonance, and they are set on Europa, Neptune, and a terraformed Pyramid ship. We have a new trailer so you can check them out in all their glory!

Don't worry about map rotations either. These maps have their own playlist, so you can play them non-stop until you know them better than yourself. Everyone who participates in the playlist before The Final Shape goes live gets an incredible Crucible-themed emblem!

A Great Time to Jump Into Destiny 2

In anticipation of our battle with the Witness, we want everyone to be ready. And we really mean it. Starting May 7 and running through June 3, we have launched Destiny 2: Expansion Open Access period.

AANHPI Heritage Month and Asians@Bungie

May is Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, and the Asians@Bungie employee resource group is celebrating with the Stand With Asians Collectible Pin and accompanying Harmonic Waves emblem.
Last year, Guardians raised an incredible $163,385 for International Community Health Services (ICHS)—a nonprofit healthcare organization based in Seattle, Washington, and a leading voice in challenging anti-Asian hate.
During the month of May, for each purchase of the Stand With Asians pin during the month of May, $7 will be donated to ICHS. Your donations will fund free and low-cost health services for uninsured or underinsured ICHS patients who would otherwise be unable to afford them.

Making the Rounds Triumph

While all of the information directly related to the BRAVE weapon quests is now available, the Making the Rounds Triumph is not able to be completed yet. Players will be directed to speak to Shaxx during the last week of Into the Light.

Risky Archery Emote

Due to an issue, the Risky Archery emote has been temporarily changed to use a different animation. Once the issue is fixed in a future update, the Risky Archery emote will return to its normal animation.

Player Privacy and Safety Update

As mentioned in our recent March 14 TWID, we are continuing with our efforts to ensure player privacy and safety online in Destiny 2. Our goal is to provide age-appropriate experiences to all our players and give the adults responsible for our younger players a way to tailor those players' experiences. If you haven’t already, please visit Bungie.net or use the prompt after launching Destiny 2 to update your date of birth.

Parental Controls

In May, parents, guardians, and other responsible adults will be able to adjust their child’s Destiny 2 settings.
To set up parental controls, both the child and their adult will need a Bungie.net account, and we will need to verify that the person providing consent and setting controls is an adult. We have created a Parental Controls Help article with details explaining how to create an account and link it up to their child's.
We are also updating our privacy policy on May 14. Please visit Bungie.net to create or manage your account and set your preferences today.

Known Issues

As you can see, you will not only have the new Aspects and Fragments coming with Prismatic, but also will get to further expand your options with the new Exotic class items. These are very special additions to Destiny 2 as each Exotic class item will have two random Exotic perks from a selection of existing Exotic armor perks, including some that belong to classes other than yours!

How to Earn Them

The Exotic Class items will be part of a new activity that unlocks after the Raid World First, at the beginning of Week 2. We don’t want to spoil what the activity is all about or how to unlock it, but we can say it's farmable, and you will get a guaranteed random roll each time you complete it.

How Many Exotic Perks

Similar to how Prismatic has a selection of abilities among all Light and Darkness classes, the Exotic class items in The Final Shape will have a mix of Exotic armor perks available for each class. We included some fan favorites as well as some perks that aligned with the Prismatic abilities and Aspects. We also chose to put perks in each column that would compound with each other, allowing for combinations that felt powerful and complementary, such as a Warlock bond with Sprit of Apotheosis and Spirt of the Star-Eater.
Prismatic is all about combining effects that used to belong to specific subclasses, and we wanted to bring that to the design of the Exotic class items, too. So, in many cases, we have adjusted the perks to work with a broader array of abilities. For example, Spirit of Caliban on the Hunter cloak works with all powered melees, not just Proximity Knife.
To keep things balanced, we have narrowed some of the perk effects to what we believe the spirit of (get it?) the original Exotic was. This allows the combination of two of them to not be overwhelming, and it maintains a reason to run the original Exotic armor. When a perk on the class item has the same effect as its original version you should expect some tuning changes. For example, in The Final Shape the original Armamentarium and Sixth Coyote will gain the ability to create Orbs of Light from your grenade and dodge respectively.

SPIRIT OF THE STAG: Your Rift provides damage reduction to allied Guardians standing in it. SPIRIT OF VESPER: Rifts periodically release Arc shockwaves.
SPIRIT OF THE FILAMENTS: Casting an empowering rift will grant you Devour. SPIRIT OF HARMONY: Final blows with weapons that have a damage type matching your Super's element grant you Super energy.
SPIRIT OF THE NECROTIC: Damaging combatants with your melee poisons them. Defeating a poisoned enemy spreads the condition. SPIRIT OF STARFIRE Grenades recharge from empowered weapon damage, with empowered weapon final blows granting more energy.
SPIRIT OF OSMIOMANCY: Your grenades recharge quicker on hits. The seeker spawned from Coldsnap grenades travels further. SPIRIT OF THE SWARM: Destroying a Tangle spawns Threadlings.
SPIRIT OF APOTHEOSIS: Temporarily gain greatly increased melee and grenade regen after your Super ends. SPIRIT OF THE CLAW: Gain an additional melee charge.
All of these exotic class item perks will only work when you have the Prismatic subclass equipped.
We knew we couldn't fit everyone’s favorite perks into these without making the pools of available rolls too large—it was a balancing act to support lots of exciting options while also making it reasonable to chase a specific combination. However, we are also making a set of Exotic armor balance adjustments with the launch of The Final Shape, including some buffs that will impact both the original armor and its Spirit version. So, some of the class item perk combinations might end up being better than you expect. We’ll have more to share about Exotic armor balance in general in the coming weeks.

INTEL
  • Oryx was once known as Aurash, one of the three sisters of Krill nobility. She became Oryx upon descending into the Deep, accepting a worm, and choosing to shed her form in favor of the king morph. Oryx then began a crusade of conquest and death across the universe in pursuit of the Final Shape.
  • After invading Sol to seek vengeance for the death of his son, Crota, and winning a decisive victory at the battle of Saturn, Oryx was dethroned by a valiant fireteam who infiltrated the Dreadnaught and ended the Taken King.
  • Many Hive still tithe to Oryx in secret, though it is not known where the power of their tithes goes, given that the Taken King is dead.
  • After his defeat, Oryx’s corpse fell to Titan where the Lucent Hive attempted to resurrect him through the heretical use of necromancy, a crime for which Oryx once banished another of his sons, Nokris. This scheme was foiled by Guardian operatives.
OF NOTE
  • Oryx slew Akka, the Worm of Secrets, and carved the Dreadnaught from its corpse. Hidden operatives report faint biosignatures still pulsing from within the ship’s hull.
  • Through the use of Willbreaker and the Dreadnaught, Oryx may weaponize his throne world, allowing it to spill into the material plane as a wave of destructive power. This weapon claimed the Awoken Fleet during the Battle of Saturn.
  • While imprisoned in the Dreaming City, SavathĂ»n once claimed that her brother Oryx was unable to control his curiosity, that his worm intentionally directs it, and that the worm manipulates Oryx’s actions unbeknownst to him. She claims all Hive worms function in this way. The veracity of this claim is unconfirmed.
  • Eris Morn used Oryx’s Ravenous Heart to construct the Exotic weapon Touch of Malice.

All the Deepsight Weapons You Can Get!

Welcome, everyone, to the red border weapons bonanza! In a similar fashion to what we did last year, players who have not earned enough Deepsight weapons to unlock the Patterns of Year-6 Seasonal weapons now have the chance to catch up before The Final Shape launches.
Every day, from May 7 through June 3, players will get a guaranteed Deepsight weapon drop upon completion of a Seasonal activity. So, if you still have not unlocked the Pattern for, let's say, the Raconteur Bow from Season of Defiance, you can complete a Defiant Battleground to receive a Deepsight drop of that very weapon. You will get another the day after and another the day after that one, and so on until you have completed the Pattern. Don't worry much if you have more than one. If you keep playing, our knockout system will ensure you'll only get drops for those weapons.

Zero Hour Is Near

First came The Whisper, then it was Zero Hour. The second-ever Destiny 2 secret Exotic mission is coming back on May 14. You'll be able to find it in the Into the Light node in the Director, and it has a few surprises up its sleeve.
Those capable enough to complete it before their time runs out (40 minutes on Normal and 20 minutes on Legend), will get the new craftable version of the Outbreak Perfected Exotic Pulse Rifle. Find some of the secret chests available each week to also unlock new additional perks for it. If you are looking for its Exotic catalyst, you'll have to complete Zero Hour on Legend difficulty, but remember that if you got the catalyst for the original version, you won't have to earn it again. That said, you will still want to do it to get the weekly Triumphs required to unlock the new Exotic ship.

And TR3-VR Is Near, Too...

Remember TR3-VR, the overly attached robot that kept the Cryptarchy's vaults safe in Zero Hour? It was impossible to miss! So much joy, so many wonderful memories... Well, great news, everyone! He'll be back, too.
To celebrate his timely return, we would love it if you all shared your best moments with him: well-scripted videos, funny screenshots, fanart, comics, musical numbers... it's all on the table. And if this is your first time meeting him, we can't wait to see your experiences.
Just don't forget to use the #MyFriendTR3VR hashtag when sharing it on social media so we can see your creations and maybe pick a few to share in the future. Our favorite submissions could get the AOTW or MOTW emblems (don't forget to include your BungieID with your creation).

Three New PvP Maps in One Trailer

Shaxx has been busy lately. Not only is he leading Guardians as they repel the Witness’s forces in Onslaught, he also has secured three new maps for Crucible so everyone can test their 3v3 combat capabilities in new environments. Just remember to sign your waivers.
The new maps are called Eventide Labs, Cirrus Plaza, and Dissonance, and they are set on Europa, Neptune, and a terraformed Pyramid ship. We have a new trailer so you can check them out in all their glory!

Don't worry about map rotations either. These maps have their own playlist, so you can play them non-stop until you know them better than yourself. Everyone who participates in the playlist before The Final Shape goes live gets an incredible Crucible-themed emblem!

A Great Time to Jump Into Destiny 2

In anticipation of our battle with the Witness, we want everyone to be ready. And we really mean it. Starting May 7 and running through June 3, we have launched Destiny 2: Expansion Open Access period.

AANHPI Heritage Month and Asians@Bungie

May is Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, and the Asians@Bungie employee resource group is celebrating with the Stand With Asians Collectible Pin and accompanying Harmonic Waves emblem.
Last year, Guardians raised an incredible $163,385 for International Community Health Services (ICHS)—a nonprofit healthcare organization based in Seattle, Washington, and a leading voice in challenging anti-Asian hate.
During the month of May, for each purchase of the Stand With Asians pin during the month of May, $7 will be donated to ICHS. Your donations will fund free and low-cost health services for uninsured or underinsured ICHS patients who would otherwise be unable to afford them.

Making the Rounds Triumph

While all of the information directly related to the BRAVE weapon quests is now available, the Making the Rounds Triumph is not able to be completed yet. Players will be directed to speak to Shaxx during the last week of Into the Light.

Risky Archery Emote

Due to an issue, the Risky Archery emote has been temporarily changed to use a different animation. Once the issue is fixed in a future update, the Risky Archery emote will return to its normal animation.

Player Privacy and Safety Update

As mentioned in our recent March 14 TWID, we are continuing with our efforts to ensure player privacy and safety online in Destiny 2. Our goal is to provide age-appropriate experiences to all our players and give the adults responsible for our younger players a way to tailor those players' experiences. If you haven’t already, please visit Bungie.net or use the prompt after launching Destiny 2 to update your date of birth.

Parental Controls

In May, parents, guardians, and other responsible adults will be able to adjust their child’s Destiny 2 settings.
To set up parental controls, both the child and their adult will need a Bungie.net account, and we will need to verify that the person providing consent and setting controls is an adult. I live in a smaller resort town where a lot of the demographic’s careers are tied to real estate in some way
realtor, lender, title company, etc
things have definitely slowed down since the 2020-22 boom where everyone and their mother decided to get their license, get into flipping, investing etc etc

I’ve noticed a ton of guys in their 30s-40s jump on this whole “team/life coach/christian group/real estate investoflippesales” bandwagon. Their socials are super cringe and when I look up their sales they have like 2 all year and one’s a mobile home.
I came across some local guy mid 20s whose Facebook claims he’s CEO of some commercial investment group, 550 units total, $25 mil, public figure, blue check mark, “investor and mentor” he has links to different pages that are literally screaming pyramid schemes. Is this like hey Invest $5k to the pot and after we get 100 dudes to do it this LLC will buy this dilapidated mobile home park and then when we flip it in 2 years you get $10,000 back?
Now back in the 2010-2015 era we had those Facebook groups of people selling drinks and health drink/energy shit that got outed fast as pyramid schemes but all this life coach/mentoinvestor real estate shit literally is giving me the same vibes. And it seems like it’s these dudes that are all 25-40, that give off super narcissistic vibes, are gym rats, church goers (or claim to be), fancy cars, yet when I look up their shit or what they own locally it’s like nothing. How are these people actually paying the bills or does anyone have any insight to what this is? Is it a last ditch effort to suck the money out of people in the industry before they give up and go back to bartending?

Introduction

1 year has passed into the game, the players are seasoned veterans with wars against 3 factions.
There is a stalemate on the Automaton front, Terminids are pacified and a truce has been achieved with the Squi’th.
Super Earth scientists are studying new planets, particularly an obscure one which looks to be a forgotten barren world.
Surveyors are wandering searching for clues and signs of life. A monolithic structure appears to have been found. Bronze scarabs the size of canines are monitoring the stone entrance, they seemed alarmed on the sight of the human expedition.
A new entity is sending signals from outer space, coming from the farthest edges of the galaxy. There are signs of heavy movement of mega-structures.
Large monoliths and creepy looking destroyers looking like they came from the underworld are slowly but steadily moving towards Super Earth. Their goal to capture it and turn humanity into undead vassals.
Scientists are studying how is it possible for millenia old beings to still be alive or if they really are “alive”.
They are the Necrotaphs, their capital is a barren world bound by deafening silence, little is known so far about her.
Helldivers are deployed to stop the onslaught from planet to planet.

Faction Lore

The Necrotaphs or Necrophages who call themselves “Dzagonur” or "Dzagur", are an undead Anthropoid species, whose origins are unknown. They are following the cast system and they have lords and a King.
Each lord is assigned a turf, a planet and will fight to the death(if there is such concept for him) to keep it.
Their capital is a barren necropolis, where the cast system ghoul subjects are maintaining for their necrotic overlords.
For these entities time is not a limited commodity and they think ahead in centuries or millenia. They are feeding of carbon energy from other planets and that is the secret to their immortality, creating barren wastelands and sucking off the energy of all pre-existing life forms.
The cast system is consisted by lower tier Ghouls, mere servants in the Dzagonur society with limited rights. Then there is the warrior class, consisted by various types of ranged or melee warriors, heavy infantry in their majority.
Next in rank are the Nobles, who are more scarce and wield unique weapons and have the power to spawn and even resurrect subjects on the battlefield.
At last we have Lords, who are the elite of Dzagonur society. They are the most immortal elders of this society and have tremendous powers.
The Dzagonur culture consists of Monolithic structures, grey and dark colour stones and a lot of tombs and vials in which they inhibit, as death or undead existence is what defines them.
Their language is an ancient screechy language sounding like skeletons are whispering very loud and their chilling shouts are echoing in the wind. They can sometimes growl human sentences to spook humanoid visitors or intercept ship bridges in the radio chatter.
Their body is millenia old decaying and dehydrated flesh, and their blood is dark sage in colour and almost in gas form.
Dzagonur are more weak to explosive weapons as they strip their armour and penetrates their thick grey skin and tough bones.

Gameplay

Regarding actual gameplay the Dzagonur is a unique and tricky faction to fight against.
They might be slow but their resurrect ability or spawning out of the earth can surprise Helldivers and increases the level of unpredictability in missions.
The lowest tier enemies are the Scarabs. Metal inanimate creatures the size of dogs who are made of bronze and they are just hive minded drones and their only purpose is to monitor and alert their masters once intruders have set foot on their restricted monoliths and tombs. These scouts do not ooze blood upon being shot but only ancient dark dust. They cannot be resurrected after they get neutralized; they are just soulless bots, behaving very similar to Scavenger Terminids. Scarabs can also detect enemies by smell, hear and insect sight. Ghoul servants are used to accompany them in higher level missions or even ceremonial warriors outside more ornamented tombs.
Ghoul servants are unarmored wanderers who have low tier or no weapons at all, but can however run and trail enemies in their sight. Ghoul servants use an underworldly warhorn to call reinforcements.
Warriors are the heavy infantry class of the faction. When these are called in, then a massive and lengthy battle is guaranteed. They have titanium armour pieces on their decaying bodies and are moving slow while shooting their heavy necrotic guns, whose green big plasma projectiles rot flesh upon contact. These enemies although cannot call reinforcements or sound alarms, can be resurrected on the battlefield randomly or on demand via a Lord rally.
Pariahs, Nobles or Outcasts are the elite of the warrior class, and use a two polar halberd which can fire projectiles as well once pointed forward. Thus this enemy is dangerous from distance and close quarters.
Necromancers are a class of their own, they are not too hard to come by and they spawn Ghouls and other monstrosities on the battlefield, as well as resurrect disabled warriors and Pariahs.
Risen Abominations are tank enemies who have deadly melee attacks and require heavy weapons to kill.
Monoliths are black levitating structures of pyramid shape, visually minimalistic and deadly and are a riddle to neutralize. They are moving slow and kill everything in their sight with a green thunder fired from the top of the structure. These enemies spawn only on high level difficulties and pose a significant threat to helldivers as they cannot get close to them. They also resurrect everything in their path and they can spawn Scarabs, Ghouls, Warriors and Nobles periodically. These structures prevent Eagles from operating close to them.
At last we have the Lords, they are strong and cunning bosses who can resurrect fallen soldiers on demand, and spawn warriors and Nobles.
The spawn points for this faction are Tombs, which players can neutralize with grenades and specialized weapons.

Implementation Considerations

How can the studio add a 4th faction without having an implication on the player base? Ie. Should it be a paid expansion or should whoever has the base game have access to it.
It could be a paid expansion and only players who own it can assault, the rest can only defend planets who are under attack.
Another way would be to make a paid only Warbond which will give access to players to more anti-undead effective weapons.
How it is supposed to be done does not really matter and that is for the product management team to decide, in order not to damage the player experience and keep a moral profit making model, something that the studio has achieved respectably so far.
Another consideration is the map placement of this faction, as there will be adequate room for more faction territory in the galaxy.
One arising issue would be trademarking, undead factions of this style have been seen before on Stellaris and the Warhammer franchise. This does not prevent of course the studio to remake this style of enemy and launch it, it would require however modeling from scratch, lore and massive content creation.
In fact many space games incorporate enemies like Orcs, sophisticated aliens and cyborgs without problems.
Another focus point is the faction to stick to the lore of the Helldivers universe, ie not to get too RPG-like and fantasy. Helldivers’ lore is following a scientific basis for enemies and it tries not to be too far fetched from reality. Therefore no magic, no Orcs, no witches, no dragons.
At last what is the most important is the name. My suggestions would be Necrotaphs or to make it more aggressive Necrophages (however the latter is hard to pronounce for most people in the world, Necrotaphs is catchy and easy to pronounce). Unfortunately Necroids is taken by the Stellaris franchise (although that doesn’t mean it cannot be used but is better to come up with something new).
References that could trigger Warhammer’s response are the Monoliths and the description of the Warriors resembles the exact same enemy Soldier of the Necrons faction. However nothing stops the studio from making those units with different names and distinct appearance.
And yes it is known that the name Dzagonur is a server name of the MMO RPG game Guild Wars 2, which could be an in-game reference. Alternatively they could go with “Dzagur”.
All in all this faction would be a nice addition, with unique gameplay and distinct culture.
