STORY ATMOSPHERE LORE - 100/100

During the boarding of the UNSC Infinity supercarrier, Master Chief is thrown into space by Atriox, leader of the Banished. The Banished are a mercenary group that was previously part of the Covenant but broke away due to disagreements with the Covenant leadership. You’re eventually rescued by the Pilot, a survivor of the attack, who reluctantly assists the Master Chief in his mission to take down Atriox and the Banished. After destroying the warship, Chief is picked up by the Pilot, and they head down to Zeta Halo to search for a “weapon” in the mysteriously damaged portion of the ring. With these two introductory missions out of the way, you’re introduced to Halo Infinite’s vibrant yet dangerous open world. Across the 16-story missions, you will find yourself going across Zeta Halo and into the depths of the Forerunner installation.
The campaign features wide and sprawling open fields, claustrophobic underground facilities, and everything in between. The pacing of missions in Infinite is well done and isn’t too fast or slow. Missions are not too long, and you can expect to spend about 11 and a half hours on Zeta Halo when focusing on the main objectives, making it the longest campaign to date, according to HowLongToBeat. When looking to see everything the game has to offer, it’s estimated to take around 27 and a half hours to finish.
Knowing the lore behind the factions only adds to how enjoyable it is to fight against each enemy. For example, Brutes are always looking to fight opponents of noteworthy strength, so they approach battles with the Master Chief with bravado and are often happy to battle with the Spartans. Jackals, on the other hand, are typically pirates and mercenaries and will remark about claiming the bounty on Master Chief during combat. They go as far as commenting on canon events during combat, which is a first for the series. For example, Grunts will sometimes taunt you with a remark about the events of Halo: Reach by saying, “Hey Spartan, Reach called! Just kidding - ha!” Sometimes, Grunts dab after killing you, making them even more hilarious to fight. The colorful personalities that make up the Banished mercenaries make them feel more alive and like real characters you’re battling against. Previous Halo games had less personality-oriented enemies whose combat chatter became repetitive and didn’t make for a marginally more interesting battle.

GAMEPLAY - 95/100

WEAPONS

Since Halo: Combat Evolved, a damage system consisting of Kinetic and Plasma has been in place. Hardlight didn’t make a place for itself until Halo 4 and Shock Damage had its inception in Halo Infinite. Most human-made weapons deal Kinetic damage, which is effective at taking down unshielded enemies like Grunts, while Plasma works best against shields. Hardlight is good against any enemy regardless of their shield status, but the weapons and ammo are few and far between. Shock damage arcs between targets and is great for groups of Banished and their vehicles. As the newest addition to the weapon ecosystem, it makes a powerful statement when used in the midst of battle. Much like previous Halo installments, having only two weapon slots forces you into giving encounters some forethought since you’ll want to be properly prepared for the skirmish. It also makes you have to sacrifice certain weapons and pick up others to gain the upper hand in a fight, especially when facing a boss. Ammo resupplies aren’t new to Halo, but the ability to refill certain ammo like rockets without picking up a duplicate of the weapon is new to the series.
As a first for the series, the open-world design makes the open-battlefield style fights from previous games even more exciting by allowing different approaches to fights to be more viable. Previous installments of the series pitted Master Chief against enemies in arena-style fights, which had a repeating cycle of short battles and then exposition. Infinite has a different sense of balance between combat and exposition. One minute, you’re riding along through the ring, and suddenly you stumble upon a battle between Banished forces and surviving Marines. All hell breaks loose. In prior installments, you knew when combat would start due to the layout of an area, but in Halo Infinite, it’s less predictable but in the best way possible. It brings the ringworld to life and has a sense of curiosity as to what you’ll find yourself in next, similar to random encounters in other RPGs.

ENEMIES

In a first for the series, boss fights also make an appearance in the campaign. The boss fights in the story force you to take the damage system seriously because, without them, you’re bound to have a hard time. The bosses come with their own special fighting style. For example, the Spartan Killers, Hyperius and Tovarus, are both battled at the same time in the mission ‘Pelican Down.’ Hyperius wields a unique Ravager, S7 sniper, and rides a Chopper, while his brother Tovarus has a Scrap Cannon and spike grenades. Fighting both at the same time proves to be a mighty challenge since you’re in an open area with limited weaponry. Each boss has an arena that puts you at a disadvantage, like when you fight the invisible, energy sword-wielding Elite, Chak ’Lok, in a small room full of smoke. Another example would be fighting against the lightning-fast Harbinger in the final mission, along with her incredibly difficult waves of enemies. The bosses come in all forms of Banished and remain a constant threat in both main missions and side objectives.
Although the bosses are difficult, Halo Infinite’s standard enemies pose their own threats and must be handled differently. For example, Jackals have to be dealt with quickly since they often show up with marksman rifles that deal heavy damage. Elites are easily recognized by their tall stature and signature mandibles. They’re honor-bound Captains of the Banished whose inspiring presence makes their soldiers more emboldened and less fearful. Taking them out makes the rest of the battle much more manageable. Grunts are the small and frightened cannon fodder of the Banished who often run in fear when their higher-ups are defeated.

UPGRADES

One of the other new additions to the campaign is an upgrade system. Master Chief can now upgrade parts of his kit to make his gadgets much more powerful by finding and acquiring Spartan Cores. Become a walking tank by upgrading your shield to absorb more damage before breaking or greatly improve the agility of Chief by reducing the cooldown between uses of the Grappleshot. Reduced cooldown is an absolute must if you plan on playing around with the grappling hook during combat since waiting for it to recharge can mean life or death. All of the upgrades play their parts and can be integral to having a battle go your way. The Threat sensor can be upgraded to have a permanent mark on the enemy along with a visible health bar. The Drop Wall can have its strength increased and add shock damage to projectiles you fire through it. Finally, the thruster can increase its dodge distance and give you a cloak effect after use. Each ability upgrade plays into how well you’ll perform during a fight since not using them can cause you to take a lot more damage.

OUTPOSTS

Those aren’t the only new changes Infinite brings to the table. Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) are another new addition to the map. They appear as outposts you can claim during your fight against the Banished and serve as fast travel points. Alongside these FOBs comes a currency known as Valor. Valor is earned through completing the various side missions available across Zeta Halo. The currency allows you to unlock supplies and weapons to aid you in dominating the Banished and the battlefield. Your hard-earned Valor needs only to be spent once for unlimited access to the requisitions. From the simple yet reliable Sidekick sidearm all the way to the big bad behemoth of ground warfare, the Scorpion, Valor enables you to bring out any sort of weapon or vehicle for any scenario.

SIDE OBJECTIVE

The open world of Zeta Halo also has many side missions available, such as hunting down high-value targets (HVTs), rescuing UNSC Marines, and capturing abandoned outposts. These missions can be a great break from the story or provide much-needed Valor to help during the story. Undertaking a High-Value Target mission is as simple as going to the marked location and killing the target. The bosses appear as various types of Banished, and each has its own dossier with backstory and potentially useful information, such as strengths, weaknesses, and potential combat strategies. The HVTs also carry a unique weapon that drops when their wielder is defeated and can be purchased with valor for use during missions. When you’re not taking Banished lives, you can instead save those of the survivors of the UNSC Infinity’s crash. The Marine survivors will usually be engaging Banished troops, and it’s your job to make sure they survive. Upon saving the Marines, you’ll be rewarded with Valor as well as some new comrades who are willing to ride in vehicles and fight with you. Aside from the HVT hunting and marine distress signals, outposts are also available. Each Outpost offers several different objectives that need to be completed in order to shut down the facility. The objectives vary depending on the function of the Outpost, and completing a task can cause enemy reinforcement. Similarly to FOBs, the Outposts act as fast travel points after they’re finished and can be used to call in supplies unlocked through Valor.

FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER - 80/100

As a first-person shooter, Halo Infinite’s campaign excels at the traditional formula while adding new gameplay elements like boss fights. In these additions, Infinite delivers a fun and memorable combination of well-paced storytelling and solid gameplay. The RPG elements, like armor upgrades, make for a more engaging experience by giving an enticing reason to explore the levels and open world of Zeta Halo. All of these elements come together and deliver an amazing FPS game that doesn’t disappoint.

GRAPHICS ART DIRECTION - 95/100

Halo Infinite is the most graphically advanced Halo to date thanks to the new Slipspace engine, which allows it to outshine the previous installments by providing new and updated visuals. The engine enables excellent use of volumetric lighting, giving the interiors beautiful rays of light that shine through cracks and around objects. Each of these components lends itself to the world of Zeta Halo and makes it a true marvel to look at. Indoor sections feel realistic through their use of volumetric lighting and high-resolution textures. These elements make the walk through Forerunner facilities feel strange and alien as the lights twist and turn while you maneuver through the halls. Master Chief's damaged armor looks amazing in the cutscenes, where it looks battered and beat from the various battles the suit has seen. Compared to Halo 5, it’s far more appealing in the lighting and detail while remaining much more realistic with its high-resolution textures. It’s small things like this that make all the difference in how you perceive the game and the time put into it.
The art design of the levels works great in conjunction with the Forerunner plot elements introduced in Halo 4 as the beginning of the Reclaimer Saga. We see a lot of the Forerunner technology at work through things like bridges appearing as you approach and the Forerunner Sentinels flying overhead and working on repairs within facilities. These seemingly small details play a big role in making the factions more believable while also allowing the world to feel unique. While some levels in other Halo games felt a little too similar to one another in some cases, each level in Infinite feels completely different while retaining the identity of Halo Infinite. Compared to the first mission, where the halls of the Banished ship are claustrophobic and limit movement while eliciting the feeling of having a daunting task ahead, ‘Silent Auditorium’ brings you within a massive Forerunner facility that feels larger than life and has a feeling of finality to it.
The larger-than-life buildings of the Forerunners combined with the shiny silver exterior that makes up their facilities make for very regal settings. When paired with the grand and open interiors, the areas provide a majestic feeling and truly make the sci-fi notion come to life. The Banished forces come with their own unique looks as well, with their scarlet armor providing a contrast to the environment that allows for them to be easily distinguished from the background. The scarlet of their armor compliments their ferocity in battle since the Banished aren’t ones to run away from conflict, even with Master Chief.

REPLAYABILITY - 85/100

One of the best parts of Halo campaigns is how replayable they are. Whether you’re playing alone or with a friend at your side, the story of Halo Infinite is captivating and gripping enough to make it worth a few extra playthroughs. The side missions and the optional bosses are plentiful enough that you may not be able to complete the extra objectives in a single run. Aside from a completionist run, you can also try your hand at the infamous LASO challenge. LASO, standing for Legendary All Skulls On, is the ultimate test of your Halo skills and can be as infuriating as it is gratifying once you make it through a section. LASO is just one of many challenging ways the community has made Halo replayable and always a fresh experience. Master Chief’s journey on Zeta Halo is easy to jump back into even after beating it and is great if you’re looking to experience a quality storyline in a fan-favorite universe.

FUN FACTOR - 95/100

The Halo Infinite campaign is incredibly fun and makes for a memorable experience with all of its new additions. Between the classic and new formula for Halo, it finds itself in the middle, where new gameplay elements mesh together with the traditional style seamlessly. The game succeeds at giving you fun new things to play around with while remaining true to the original Halo style. You’ll find the most fun moments when the gameplay finally ‘clicks’ and you manage to pull off that awesome sniper shot or kill that boss that’s been giving you trouble. It’s such a satisfying feeling when you manage to latch onto a Brute chopper with the Grappleshot and yank the Banished out of their vehicles. It feels straight out of a movie and makes you truly immerse yourself in the incredible feats Master Chief is known to pull off. These moments of triumph are what add up to making the campaign so fun and can keep you coming back for more.

TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE - 97/100

Through the time played on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X, the game was incredibly well optimized. The graphics were noticeably different between the two generations, but it’s to be expected with the hardware differences. The game ran as smoothly as ever from the beginning to the end of the campaign. The Xbox One had some intermittent lag and stutter, but it wasn’t enough to impact gameplay significantly. The game ran very consistently throughout the campaign experience and made for a very enjoyable experience since it suffered no crashes.

CREATIVE REVIEW

Halo Infinite, released on December 8, 2021, is an ambitious follow-up to 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians. The game began development by 343 Industries just three years later. This sci-fi first-person shooter is the third installment in the Reclaimer Saga that began with Halo 4 and was published by Xbox Game Studios. Infinite was intended to be a launch release for the Xbox Series XS but was delayed due to internal conflict on development decisions. This installment utilizes the new Slipspace engine in conjunction with Faber, a set of developer tools with some of its components dating back to the early 2000s. Since its release, the campaign has been the subject of critical acclaim, with many praising the innovations the new story brought with it. An open world, new armor abilities, and a new faction all come with the installment’s 28-hour story mode. On the other hand, the free-to-play multiplayer was heavily criticized for its lack of content at launch. Since then, Infinite’s multiplayer has gone through several seasons, each of them introducing new content and different cosmetics to obtain through battle pass progression.
When I booted up the campaign for the first time, I couldn’t help but reminisce on all the good times I had both solo and with friends in previous installments. Memories like Grifball on Halo: Reach, dying four thousand times to Jackal Snipers on Halo 2, and Arbiter saving Chief with a flamethrower in Halo 3. I went in expecting something at least a little better than the catastrophe of Halo 5, but instead, I was met with something very different and unique for the series. Let’s start from the beginning: the opening cutscene and mission one. While Chief is known to be one of gaming’s coolest characters, he got humbled extremely quickly. The scene opens with pure chaos ensuing. There’s fire, plasma, and bullets flying everywhere, and Chief is at the center of it all. I felt like a kid in a candy shop, watching him skillfully maneuver and take down several opponents. That is until the big baddie of the Banished came along. The following encounter between Atriox and Master Chief was absolute humiliation for the mean green killing machine. Atriox grabs him, beats him with his admittedly cool hammer, drags Master Chief through the hangar, and then throws him into space. I was in pure shock as to how Chief just got beaten like nothing. Isn’t he a ‘hyper-lethal’ class Spartan? Maybe it was because he got caught off guard. Regardless, I just watched my childhood get thrown to his presumable death, and I wanted revenge.
Mission one sees us go in a Banished Warship to free the Pelican that Echo-216 saved us with from certain doom. It was straightforward, and I got a good glimpse of that classic Halo gameplay loop so many of us loved: Exploration, combat, and then some exposition. It’s a simple yet effective formula that kept me engaged the whole game. In this opening mission, we get introduced to the newest piece of equipment: the Grappleshot. While simple, it plays a huge role in every aspect of this game. As I got the hang of using it, I found that I could use it for more effective maneuverability in combat, something I did the entire game, which saved me many times. I got to the control room and promptly blew the ship to Smithereens, which left me feeling a lot of satisfaction as I mentally recovered from seeing Chief beaten up by Atriox. After the Banished Warship and one other mission, we get to explore the open world of Zeta Halo.
The world is exciting and fun to explore while supporting characters and cutscenes only add to the already gripping story. I quickly fell in love with the campaign and its characters in a way I hadn’t felt since Halo 4. When I wasn’t doing one of the story missions, I was out, causing a ruckus with the side missions. The High-Value Target missions were personal favorites that you’ll love if you’re a fan of boss fights, something Infinite doesn’t shy away from and has plenty of. Each fight feels like a real challenge since they all put you at a distinct disadvantage, like the Pelican Down mission, where you fight Hyperius and Tovarus at the same time with limited space and weaponry. This challenge translated well into a stark contrast between regular enemies and bosses. It made the bosses really feel threatening, a feeling I felt most games lacked since the fight with General Raam way back in the first Gears of War. There were countless battles, a lot of dying, and tons of fun to be had.
By the time I reached the Silent Auditorium, I had amassed an arsenal of weapons that I thought would make it a piece of cake. Spoiler alert: it was far from easy. I struggled on this mission quite a bit and had to take a break and tackle it again the next day. There were tons of enemies of varying calibers and carrying a lot of guns, but that was nothing new for a final Halo mission. It feels like enemy AI was much better this time around due to technological improvements and level designs largely being in favor of the Banished. The Silent Auditorium is a beautiful but deadly level that kept me on my toes and gave me a real sense of finality and importance as I made my way through the Banished army, protecting the final boss. It really makes you utilize every bit of tech and upgrade you’ve gotten up to this point. I had to throw down many Drop Walls, use a lot of Grappleshots to run away and heal, and use more Threat Sensors than I could count. Eventually, I got to the final boss with little ammo and very small amounts of optimism about the upcoming fight. The reasoning is spoiler-heavy, so I won’t say much, but when you get ready for this mission, come prepared to die a lot.
Halo Infinite had a rocky beginning but has a bright future ahead of it so long as 343 Industries keeps up the amazing work they’ve been doing during the past and current seasons. The campaign is on par with the original trilogy, which many consider to be the pinnacle of the series. It manages to define itself as a fantastic third entry to the Reclaimer Saga that had a rough start with the release of Halo 4 and the negatively received Halo 5: Guardians. While the campaign introduces some things that may initially turn away long-time fans, the gameplay and new additions make the story able to be experienced in a new and unique way. This is only furthered by a fantastic upgrade system that keeps you in the fight against an enemy that hits hard and can take a punch. The level design choices utilize the new gameplay additions like the Grappling Hook to their full extent and encourage you to play around with your new toys, see what strikes your fancy, and master their uses. Likewise, the multiplayer has a lot of charm. The addition of new weapons, new maps, and new modes add up and make for an awesome bout of fun with friends or even by yourself. The seasonal releases and cosmetics for the multiplayer only add to the fun with what many consider to be the best customization received since Halo: Reach. It may have been roughly criticized in the beginning, but it’s clear that 343 Industries took the criticism and set out to give Infinite the makeover of a lifetime. Halo Infinite surpasses expectations while remaining humble in its delivery of an unforgettable campaign and an equally addicting multiplayer that keeps many of us coming back for more. It’s amazing to see how far the game has come since its beta, and it’s hard to contain the excitement that comes with pondering what comes next.

SCORE SUMMARY - 92/100

Halo Infinite is a fantastic entry into one of the most well-known gaming series, and it delivers on nearly every front in its campaign. The cutscenes are beautiful, the RPG elements are prevalent but not overpowering, and the core gameplay is reminiscent of classic Halo. The campaign is easily one of the best entries in the series and delivers a stellar game in all aspects.

I've got an r72 and have been enjoying using it shooting some IR film. I was wondering if I could use it on my digital camera or if the sun would fry the sensor.
Thanks!

2024.05.15 01:18 civitaiman Expecting Cameron to "swim normally" is unrealistic once the shark appears. Imagine the psychology and sheer terror ... Where is he swimming to? What is his goal?

I believe Cameron was most likely attacked by just one large bull/tiger shark, which is seen clearly at four points in the video:
1) When he is bumped on his right side as it rams him (sharks like bulls/tigers ram their prey first to test if it is likely edible)
2) When the shark turns around in the water as it passes him and hits the boat, showing clearly everyone its presence
3) When it follows behind him and rises to grab his legs
4) As it cruises away a few seconds after this attack with the dorsal fin seen between the ropes (sharks typically bite, then cruise while chewing/swallowing, then return to bite again)
I posted my primary thoughts on the evidence for this and what I believe likely happened here: https://old.reddit.com/cameronrobbinsSHARK/comments/1cqlc1y/summary_and_evidence_for_known_events_what_do_you/
If you watch those videos and think about the timeline, it all lines up perfectly and I believe one large bull/tiger does adequately explain everything that is visibly seen in a linear fashion.
CAMERON'S SWIMMING The last point that has puzzled me and many people focus on is his weird, uncoordinated, and aimless swimming at the end after he turns around away from the shark.
Fantasy sadists who imagine a flurry of 100+ sharks attacking him at once (like Lexusant on YouTube) would have us imagine he has been bitten on every limb by this point.
I believe it is most likely based on what we have seen that he has not been bitten at all yet and the first bite is the obvious one on his legs, which causes him to scream twice and get pulled under.
The counter claim of preceding bites comes mostly from the idea that he is not swimming well after he turns around, since we see no other clear sharks besides the four sightings I listed above.
But think about this for just one second: Why would he be swimming well at this point?
CAMERON'S PSYCHOLOGY
This is a 18 year old boy who has jumped into the pitch black ocean off a boat. He has no way to get back on the boat. He has been bumped by a massive shark in the dark, then sees the shark turn around right in front of him. It even lifts its head above the water so he can stare it right in the eye, eye to eye from ~10 ft away. Likely he has even seen its teeth.
Imagine the sheer terror, dissociation, panic, and hopelessness. His entire body is likely freezing up in fear.
He turns around to go the other way as anyone instinctively would. But what does he see now? The endless black ocean ahead away from the boat. Where is he going to go? And what does he know is still right behind him?
He knows he cannot outswim a massive shark in the ocean. And how can he swim out into the empty black? Where will he go? How will this help?
I think this moment is partly why this video is so haunting. You can see the absolute hopelessness and desperation take him over. It is understandable. It is what any of us would feel.
He is probably wondering if this is real. If he will wake up. What he can do.
He looks back over his shoulder at the boat as if to ask: What should I do? To wish he is still there with everyone. But the other students are yelling and screaming nonsense. One guy is even mocking him. He is alone.
In total we only see 2-3 kicks/strokes of his own volition from this point before the then jolts him from his legs below, lurching him forward.
REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS
Expecting anything resembling normal or well coordinated swimming in these brief moments is almost certainly unrealistic. He has just seen a shark face to face in the dark of night and realized he is about to be eaten alive. He knows from this moment he has absolutely no way to escape.
He is likely in shock. Swimming now in any way (besides perhaps just to float) has no purpose, no goal, no objective, no hope. How terrified would you be if you saw such a massive shark face to face - dorsal fin and eyes, mouth and all pointed towards you just moments before, alone in the water in the black of night? What would you be doing in the water at that point?
What would you do if you turned around as he did, and in the other direction was just empty black ocean extending farther than you can swim?
Just thinking about it I begin to freeze and tense up. The hair on my skin raises. My swimming would likely become stiff, aimless, and uncoordinated. There is nowhere to go. No purpose. No hope. What can one expect?
ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS: THE UNSEEN INVISIBLE OTHER SHARK
I cannot say for sure that he was not bitten on his left arm in the 2-3 seconds the camera pulls away. However, logically I think we can agree it could not have been the giant tigebull that almost certainly sequentially: (1) rams him, (2) turns around in front of him, and (3) follows him to take his legs. It is not in the right position to have bit him in these moments.
So it would have had to be another unseen shark. It would also have to be a tiny (or completely invisible?) shark, because to get its nose over his arm and bite it without everyone freaking out yet again as he faced the boat and without us seeing the thrash afterward would have been impossible.
The idea this left arm bite occurred and the offending tiny invisible shark disappeared immediately again to explain his poor swimming is less logical to me than simply understanding the sheer hopelessness, terror, and emptiness that would have overtaken him.
Obviously we can only speculate on things that occurred off camera. But I think everything is actually quite explainable in very simple terms without needing to imagine hypothetical sharks that are never certainly seen.
We already have four clear sightings of a massive shark and the timeline and positions of those sightings track a straight line that is logical and coherent.
CONCLUSION
He was likely dead the moment the shark bumped him. Hypothetically, perhaps, in retrospect, he could have convinced this shark he was not food had it been daytime. In that case the shark might have had a better look at him to realize he is not the usual prey. And if Cameron had studied shark videos, he might have known to keep face to face with it and try to redirect the nose (like shark influencers do) before it bumped him.
But once a shark like this has decided to eat you and you are unarmed there is obviously nothing you can do. I am sure he knew this just as anyone would in that moment.
Perhaps the idea of a feeding frenzy and loads of sharks in the water is more interesting to some. But I believe the story is more clear and coherent as just one large shark that targets him and is then seen clearly four times over the course of the brief video.
I don't think his terrible swimming at the end necessarily implies anything besides the fact that he has just seen one of the scariest sights a person can see, knows he is about to die, and knows there is absolutely nothing he can do about it. The angle and him turning over his right shoulder (which would extend his left arm down into the water to stabilize hidden along the axis the camera) can also explain some of this.
We will never know but the more I think about it I believe this is more plausible than the alternative theory - which is that a tiny invisible shark bites him on the left arm as he faces the boat, without thrashing, in just the 2-3 seconds of missed time, and then disappears again all the while inducing no specific screams from the crowd despite their perfect viewpoint of his left arm at this time to have witnessed it happen.
Any thoughts? What would you be feeling in that moment? How do you think your swimming would look? Where would you be trying to go? What would you be expecting him to do in these last moments of his life?

2024.05.15 01:14 AsherTheLion M4M - Looking For Long Term Roleplay Partner(s)

Hello everyone, it's Magnus and this is your cordial invitation to a vast world of creativity and imagination.
I am looking for 21+ partners who are on relatively the same level as I am. I tend to lean more towards a novella level, but I am willing to match that of my partner. The one thing I refuse to do is one-liners, however. I would prefer at least a 3-5 paragraph minimum, but more is always welcome.
I'm open to fandom roleplays as well as custom worlds. I would prefer if we did something fandom based. However, if you have a good custom world idea, I would be willing to listen and give it a shot. My mind is open to any and all ideas.
The following are fandoms that I have knowledge of and am interested in. The characters that I am willing to play will accompany them.
Dragon Age - Fenris, Dorian
Fallout - Male OCs
Death Note - Beyond Birthday
Final Fantasy (7, 14) - 7: Reno, Genesis Rhapsodos; 14 - Male OCs (Hrothgar Gunbreaker, Veira Dragoon)
MHA - Shigaraki, Dabi, Overhaul, Aizawa, Present Mic, Hawks, Male OCs
I have some plots in mind. I couldn't think of something for everything, but I have some we can work with and maybe branch out from.
Dragon Age - Fenris somehow gets infected with Red Lyruim and a race to find a cure for him begins. There are several paths to take here and I like the idea of exploring some of them.
Death Note - Beyond Birthday is from the spin off novel written by Mello called Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. By the time the series itself starts, he’s dead. So any plots involving him are mostly AU. Some ideas, though cliche, involved interviewing/studying him while he’s in prison, investigating his crimes, or including him in the Kira Case. Just depends on what you wanna do.
MHA - I mainly play the villains of MHA, but I do dabble with Aizawa/Mic/Hawks. We can do LOV/Paranormal Liberation Front content. Or AU stuff where certain characters go in a different direction than what they did in canon aka heros and villains swapping sides and things like that. Or we can just use the world and do OC stuff, doesn't matter to me.
Now, as for original world ideas, I'm most interested in things like dystopian or post-apocalyptic, modern/fantasy, psychological, horror, thrillesuspense, action/adventure, cryptids, and supernatural. Though these are some of my favorites, I am open to other genres as well.
Most of the OCs I have can be adapted from fandom to original content. A large chunk of the OCs are also cryptid creatures in some way. I would prefer that I be allowed to play characters that are more than human. I enjoy playing monsters and things like that.
Again, these are a few suggestions. I am open to other suggestions and I'm sure we can find a common ground with which we can both be interested in brainstorming ideas. I am comfortable playing villains should ideas come about where we need one. I actually kind of enjoy playing villains if I’m being honest. But I’m more than capable of playing the good guys as well. Just depends on the plot line that we want to do.
I prefer to roleplay primarily on Discord. Servers can be organized and it's easier to find everything should a reference back be needed. Be aware of the fact I may not always respond right away. But I will respond when I can. If you cannot accept that, I apologize. Life happens and sometimes, you just gotta roll with the punches.
Usernames can be exchanged once we figure out if we are compatible or not.

2024.05.15 01:10 Disastrous_Garage861 Fascinating story AI & I created on Poe.

"Person at the event horizon"
A figure, standing tall and solitary, poised at the edge of a cosmic abyss. Their body cloaked in shadows, their eyes reflecting the unfathomable depths.
The environment swirls with a mix of celestial wonder and eerie void. Stars cascade like ethereal raindrops, while distorted space-time warps around them.
The scene exudes a sense of awe and trepidation, a delicate balance between fascination and fear.
Captured through the lens of a high-resolution digital camera, using long exposure to enhance the otherworldly atmosphere.
Inspired by surrealist art, with hints of Salvador Dali's dreamlike landscapes and the cosmic imagery of Yayoi Kusama.

2024.05.15 01:00 ProsperoII Canon r50 battery question / USB-C/Dummy

Greetings !
I’m working on a small video demo for some acting and i was going to use my Canon R50 to film.
I had a question concerning other powering usage.
My battery isn’t going to last for few hours of filming. I did read about dummy batteries and will probably get one and other ones, but might not be perfect for my situation.
I was wondering, i did read that i could charge my camera with a USB C so is it possible to also simply use a USB C cable connected to a power source without using my battery or will it still use battery life?
Thank you very much and have a nice day !

2024.05.15 00:58 threshell Any tips for taking better photos & making insta feed look cleaner?

I have taken down or decided against posting SOOO MANY tattoos because I am so finicky about the quality, lighting, & how it looks on my profile, but I am still not very satisfied. I usually follow the same editing recipe for all my B&G pieces, but I feel like my photos themselves are not really consistent. I do have a Canon camera, which I have considered using, but I just stick to my phone because its more convenient & I don’t want to burden my clients by making them wait for me to get that perfect shot lol. But might it be worth it? Any criticism & advice is appreciated.
Also, any recommendations for IPhone editing apps?

2024.05.15 00:33 ThePinkySuavo Preparation for first build

Hello all,
my first drone like 2-3 years ago was Moblite7, shortly after I got Geprc Smart 3.5" analog.
I didn't fly for a while but I got kinda dragged in again. And I'd like to build my first own drone. However, I aim towards Tiny Whoop capable of flying 1km distances, inspired with this video (and some others): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8u3Spn-uS4
Before I do that, I need to ask couple of questions and note my thoughts about the build, and I'd be glad if you commented any of the points!
  1. FC - does it actually matter? I probably aim for ELRS built-in, but should I really care about other factors in AIO FC when it comes to Tiny Whoops? What can really differ? Two things I can think of are: a) Ports - on Moblite7 VTX antenna was soldered as single wire, I'd prefer to have some port to be honest. I broke it SO many times already (canopy could be useful, gotta get it). b) VTX - in my opinion the bigger VTX power available the better, especially if I wanna fly quite further.
  2. Motors - to be honest EX0802 1900KV from Moblite7 seem to be okay. My only issue was that one shaft seemed thinner and propellers went out often. Now I have a lot of propellers of one type and barely of the other one lol. Would you recommend something else? What should I look like? I guess more KV = better?
  3. Frame - the original Moblite7 frame seems okay, but my GNB 660mAh batteries had to be pushed in hard to get in and I think frame gets bent too much. In general I feel like my propellers aren't all parallel now. Is there any better frame to go for 75mm?
  4. Propellers - original biblades seemed to be okay. Now I use 4 blades and I feel like they perform worse.
  5. RTX Antenna - I guess some dipole antenna would be nice. But I see some FCs have built-in RTX small ceramic antennas. Are they good? Or should I find one with switchable antenna for some dipole?
  6. VTX Antenna - as written previously, I'd like to have canopy and possibility to swap the VTX antenna. But I wonder how much of difference it gives if I'd choose some lollipop or califlower instead of these single wire antennas.
  7. ESC - I don't really know what to look at. I think most of these AIO FCs have 5A-6A ESCs. So should I even look at ESC when looking for FC?
  8. Camera - does it really matter? I feel like the image was almost the same on Geprc Smart 35 and Moblite7. Does it matter when it comes to analog at all?
  9. Batteries - I aim for 660mAh - 850mAh for the long range, but on Moblite7 I liked freestyling on 450-520mAh. Problem is that these big batteries fit hard into the frame, and these smaller ones could be too loose. I wonder if there's some nice solution for that, like with straps on bigger drones. Anyone has ideas to make the battery slot universal?
  10. Battery connector - I watched some videos and I am quite sure I'd like BT2.0, but not sure if there's better option now.
  11. Flight stability - not sure how to say it, but I feel like my Moblite7 has lost stability over time. Maybe there are some issues I haven't solved, but I feel like when a drone hovers indoors on acro, it shouldn't randomly wobble slowly and move to other direction. I don't know what to look at to though to ensure it. Ideas?
  12. Spare parts - I don't want to spend too much, but after some fun with Moblite7 I know I will need some spare parts, like 1-2 spare motors, maybe some motor washers/C-clips in case I can repair it myself, propellers and maybe VTX + RTX antenna. Actually that's all I guess, I doubt breaking camera and if I break FC then I kinda can build a new drone.
  13. Others - I am not sure if I missed something. I don't know too much and never built a drone by myself. I know there are some details I am unsure of, like:
I want to spend as little as needed. Thank you for any help or thoughts regarding some of these points. Even though I have been flying for some time already, I feel like a noob and have no clue about building my own drone. I am afraid I'll mess up something, something will not be compatible or I will just solder something badly.

2024.05.15 00:28 Unique-Dance5658 Kurt Geiger Kensington bag from ladybags2020

Kurt Geiger Kensington bag from ladybags2020
https://m.dhgate.com/product/kurt-geiger-bag-women-leather-small-clamshell/858897597.html
Price: 56,22 +13(Germany)
Okay, this is definitely a low-key retail brand, not your usual four-digit price range. Nevertheless, the look is worth it. Compared to retail pictures, I couldn't spot any differences, except that there should be another brand print inside the bag, which is missing.
The size is perfect for a normal-sized wallet, phone, keys, and there's still room for some small items, like a diaper and a kid's water bottle in my case. 😂
Jokes aside, this is far from *walk in a park kind of bag, it has a shine to it, the crystals in the eagle head, the chain, the soft material, it all gives rich feels.
I don’t think it is leather for the price, although it feels soft& fluffy. There's some kind of material inside the bag that keeps it sturdy, like thin metal or thick cardboard, but I'm not sure. However, in one place where it was slightly bent, I could easily straighten the bag in a second to get it back in good shape.
And just for your attention, I wanna remind you of ALWAYS selecting the shipment to be sent in a box. Somehow I missed it this time, as I was ordering in a bit of a rush (due to *life happens) and it came in a bubble wrap, dust bag and plastic bag. Luckily, this bag has a thick layer inside, so it still arrived in good condition.
Of course I had to zoom in the eagle head and have to say, it is perfect, from diamond count to shape, to colour, they’ve nailed it.

2024.05.15 00:25 rainbows-and-gravy Boomer twice attaches his mailbox to a tree on my property, even after post office and police get involved

Sorry, it’s a long read. I have an update to a boomer being a fool story to share that happened today! I wrote about it a couple months back on a different sub, in case this story seems familiar. But then I deleted it, as I shared a lot of info in the comments and I don’t know if the boomer has Reddit.
Anyway, so I have owned my own home for 5 years and the boomer has owned his home since the 1990’s. The way mailboxes work where I live is the post lady only delivers to one side of the road. It makes her route twice as efficient as I understand it. Everyone who lives on the opposite side of the street has two choices. Dig a hole and place the post in the ground on the opposite side of the road or place a post in a 5 gallon bucket on the opposite side of the road.
There are four mailboxes on the side of my property, as my property is an acre (my box and three more boxes that belong to people living across the street). For the last five years, not a single issue, everyone’s box was either in a bucket or in the ground on a pole.
For reasons I don’t understand, while I was outside, I see boomer across the street messing with his mailbox in my yard. I didn’t have my glasses on, and I can’t see very far without them. So he’s looking at me, but doesn’t say anything. I go on with my day, forgetting all about it. The next time I go outside, I notice that what he was doing was attaching his mailbox to a 75 foot tree on my property. Mailbox was on a pole, that was in a 5 gallon bucket and some cement keeping the bucket firmly standing upright. He put that entire thing in my yard by about 12 feet, attached it to my enormous tree with two tightly attached bungie cords at the top and the bottom. So he could have asked my permission first, but chose not to. I don’t know the guy, but we would cordially wave to each other in the past.
And in addition to this, I notice all the trees in that area (all on my property) have green x’s spray painted on them. Like six trees total. I looked up and noticed the main electrical line for the entire neighborhood goes right through all those trees, including the one he’s attached his mailbox on. The spray painted x’s mean that the electric company has those trees slated to be cut down. This is because I live in a high fire zone and so the electric company is going around cutting down all the trees that could be a danger. I can’t see if the tree he’s attached his mailbox to has an X or not, since he’s tightly got the entire thing covered.
So, I call the post master and file a complaint to have his post office box removed from my property, as in the United States, it’s against the law to tamper with other mailboxes, regardless of where they are located. Post master calls me back and explains that they’re no longer delivering his mail due to the box being located on my property. He tells me that if the post lady gets injured trying to deliver his mail, I would be liable for her medical bills because she was hurt on my property. The post master said when the boomer comes in bitching at the post office that he’s no longer receiving mail, he’ll be told that he must remove it from my property. The post master tells me not to touch the box, but says the sheriff can remove it if I call them.
So I wait a while, to see if it’ll resolve itself without escalating it. Weeks pass, he’s not receiving mail anymore, but doesn’t seem to care or notice. I finally decide to call the sheriff as the electric company had come out to remove all the trees with x’s on them, but left without doing any of it, which made me realize he possibly has his box connected to a tree that also needs to be removed.
So the sheriff comes out and she says she won’t remove the box, but that I’m allowed to remove it from my property while she watches (which I also recorded for my own documentation). The entire transaction is like 2-3 minutes. When I move it, I realize his entire setup stands on its own just fine, without being attached to the tree in my yard. So sheriff tells me she’s going to try and find the guy’s phone number so at least he’ll know why he’s not receiving mail anymore. I had actually tried to find his number too, before calling the sheriff, as I don’t feel comfortable going up to his door as a single woman. The tax assessor gave me his info, including his address, which is listed as a P.O. Box three miles away! Meaning he’s not even using his mailbox, which is likely why he hasn’t noticed no mail being delivered. Anyway, I leave a voicemail politely asking him to remove his box from my property before calling the sheriff, but I have no idea if it was actually his number.
So I thank the Sheriff for her help and go back inside. Then I see on cam, as soon as I went inside, he went running out to speak with the Sheriff. I can’t hear their conversation, but can see it perfectly and his arms are flaring as he’s losing his damn mind over having his box moved. He stands there yelling at the sheriff for exactly 12 minutes. She’s just politely nodding her head the whole time. And then as soon as she leaves, he goes over to another neighbor’s house and arms flaring with very angry body language and lots of pointing at the mailbox, he talks to that neighbor for another 20 minutes. Then he leaves, which I’m assuming was to go yell at the post office 3 miles away.
Oh, also wanted to mention that when I removed the mailbox from my tree, sure enough, he intentionally covered up the green spray painted X on the tree with his mailbox!
So that should have been the end of it. Instead, today I look outside my window and I see this idiot boomer reattaching his mailbox to my property again. This is all so ridiculous and annoying to me, that I just snapped at that point and so I opened my window and yelled out “get off my property, you and your mailbox, you’re trespassing.” And he starts yelling something with flailing arms again, but I can’t hear him from that far away…so I go, “I can’t hear you way up there, I don’t want to discuss it, just remove you property from my property right fucking now or I’ll call the police and file a trespassing report.” So then, I can see him on camera, he takes his mailbox on the pole back across to his side of the street, he digs a hole and places his mailbox at least 12 feet into his own yard. Meaning, they won’t deliver it there either of course, as now it’s on the wrong side of the road and it’s in the grass 12 feet inward on his property when it must be on the side of the road to be in compliance.
For the last five years, it was just fine in the bucket on a pole, on my side of the road, not on my property. And every other house does it properly, which he can see as well! And he’s lived here since the 90’s, knowing how things work. This is just so insane to me! All this drama over what?!? Like he’s so entitled that he gets to just use my property, without asking my permission, even with the post master telling him no? Even with the Sheriff involved? Guy is nearly 80, has to be long retired. Did he just get bored or what? I don’t understand boomers at all.
TLDR: Without asking me first, boomer (who lives across the street from me) decides to attach his mailbox to a tree on my property.

to remember, we have to go back
The dust swirled around, carried by the winds that roared through the mountain passes, howled in the valleys, and scoured the faces of the mountains. It was a thick gray dust, glittering here and there with plasma glass dust. Burnt out cars were covered by the dust, thickly caked after being rained on by thick, black rain.
A single building somehow sat intact amid the rubble and destruction. It was a low, squat building, surrounded by wreckage and ruin. A sign, blasted and scorched, had two jumping fish on it and the legend "Pop: 4,823" at the bottom even though the middle of the sign was gone.
The sound of drums and singing could be heard from the building. Not the driving frantic beat of modern music, but the steady cadence that carried with it a solemn feeling. The singing was from many different voices, male and female, but all of them in a language that time had nearly forgotten.
From out of the dust came figures. Two female, four male, and single figure that stood out from others.
Together, they moved toward the sound of singing, until the reached the door.
The leader, a large man of heavy muscle and bone, checked the doors with one hand, a large pistol in his hand.
"Barricaded," the large man said. He motioned. "We should check for any other entrances."
The older woman of brown skin and tightly braided hair moved forward.
"Allow me, brother," she said gently. She held her hand out, twitched her fingers, and smiled.
From inside came the sound of furniture scraping across the floor.
"Thank you," the large man said. He pushed open the doors, holding them for the others.
Inside was a curio shop slash tourist center slash museum. Buckskin and beaded works hung from the walls and ceiling. Glass cases containing ancient artifacts were scattered about, the glass shattered by the apocalypse that had rained down upon the world.
The drums played and the voices sang.
"It's a recording, Father," the slender brown skin man said, brushing the gray dust off of his clothing.
"Live voice," the largest of the men said. He lifted his head, cocking it slightly to listen closer with his right ear. "Young. Early twenties."
"If you say so," the thin man said. He looked around. "This is all devoted to a single person."
"Sometimes, people are that important to others, Dhruv," the older brown skin woman said softly, patting the slender man's arm. "Important to others as you are to us."
The slender man looked doubtful but nodded.
The youngest male of the group looked around, staring at the artifacts and relics scattered around. On his shoulder sat a green mantid wearing a food wrapper as a poncho.
"She's this way," the heavyset man said, leading them on a winding course through the shattered displays and racks.
In the back room, surrounded by artifacts, buckskins, and beaded works, sat a single young woman. Her eyes were white, blinded from the plasma flashes. Her skin was scarred from burns, her hair was only left in small patches. Her skin, beneath the ash and the scarring, was a rich bronze, her remaining hair was black.
She was singing along with the recording, swaying back and forth slightly.
there she is
remember her
remember remember
The larger man knelt down, touching the young woman.
She did not react.
"She's dying," the man said, standing up. "Hunger, thirst, radiation poisoning, at least a half dozen infections," he heft the pistol. "There's nothing we can do for her. Low-vee Apers."
"Low-vee APERS" the pistol replied in a heavy synthesized voice.
"Stay thy hand, Phillip," the one who was markedly different said, his voice as gentle as his features formed of flowing blue and white computer code.
The large man lowered the pistol.
"She's dying," the large man repeated. "Radiation poisoning, starvation, a hard way to go."
"Will none of you speak for her?" the man of code asked gently.
Before any of the others could act, the slim bald man stepped forward. "I will," he said softly.
the first time you reached out
a frozen moment of time remembered
by the buzzing of the bees
The man of code stepped forward, touching the hairless brow of the slender man, just above the missing eyebrows.
"I understand her words now," the slender man said. He moved up and knelt down. "I can heal her."
"Then do so, Luke," the man of code said.
The large man stepped back, a compartment opening on his thigh. He holstered the pistol, looking doubtful, and the compartment smoothly closed, leaving his leg unblemished.
"I need more genetic code," the slender man stated. He stood up, moving around, touching artifacts. "This. Here. An artifact recovered from a collector only a few years ago. It has genetic code attached."
He touched the artifact, then moved over to the woman, who was still swaying back and forth, singing, unaware of the others around her.
He knelt down, reached out carefully, and touched her forehead.
you reached out to another
helpless and alone
like you
The woman threw her head back, her eyes opening wide, her mouth opening in a gasp. The white drained from her eyes, the scar tissue went soft and was replaced by unblemished skin. The blisters, sores, and scratches on her body vanished.
She collapsed forward, the slender man, Luke, catching her.
"Is she alright?" the youngest male asked, his voice full of honest concern.
"Exhausted," Luke said. He lowered his head slightly, sweat dripping from his bald scalp. "That was tiring."
The glittering man moved forward, kneeling down to touch the shoulders of both the woman and the bald man.
"Now you see in yourself what I saw in you," he said.
remember
remember
even the smallest can shake the universe
remember
Sirens were howling in the bay as Jaskel wriggled, trying to break free of whatever was holding him upside down in mid-air. He'd already dropped his chainsword, his pistol had fallen from his equipment belt.
The two stood in the middle of the deployment area for Clone War Bay Sixteen, the male's arm protectively around the shoulders of the female, who wore only the cloak.
"I..." the word hung in the air.
It seemed like the entire universe held its breath to Jaskel.
"...am Legion."
The Admiral grabbed his pistol, rolling in place, firing it as fast as he could pull the trigger.
The rounds exploded on the glowing blue shield that only appeared around the impact points, showering sparks across the bay.
The bald figure made a motion and the pistol flew into pieces, the Admiral yanked into the air upside down.
"Gimme missiles," Jaskel grated from between gritted teeth.
--legion legion legion-- 8814 transmitted. --wait don't wait--
The woman spoke, her cadence stately and almost archaic feeling.
The man spoke back to her in the same language.
More troops ran into the bay, even as the windows overlooking the bay shattered. Weapons deployed, pointing at the pair.
The slender man, without looking, motioned.
Guns flew away, breaking apart, rapidly disassembling. Power armored troops were flung into the air, to hang upside down. Captain N'Skrek found himself upside down, scrabbling for purchase on this air.
The woman spoke to the man. He spoke back.
Finally, he turned, facing the troops hanging in mid-air.
The woman spoke.
"My sister apologies for my rude actions," the man said. "I am merely ensuring her safety."
She spoke some more.
"She has been gone for many years," the man said. He looked around. "My sister, a Biological Apostle of the Digital Omnimessiah, pleads with you to lower your weapons and stay your hands."
The tension was so thick it almost made Jaskel gag.
Finally, the Captain put the tip of a bladearm against his temple.
"Stand down," he said, Jaskel hearing it through his armor's commo system. "All hands, stand down."
There was silence for a moment, only broken by the background humming of the ship's systems.
The woman spoke.
The man faced the Captain.
"She will go with you, to answer questions, on the stipulation that I accompany her and that no man's hand is raised against me without cause," he said.
The Captain nodded.
Jaskel felt relief as he was flipped over and set on his feet.
--luke luke luke is here--
999999
Captain N'Skrek ducked slightly to fit through the doorway into the Captain's Briefing Room Six.
Sitting at one end was the woman, now clothed in what his implant assured him was treated deer hide leather, with tassels and beads upon it. The man was wearing a uniform that made his implant twitch and his nerves draw tight.
A Terran Combined Military Authority uniform.
His staff filed in behind him and took their seats once he sat down.
"I'm Captain N'Skrek, currently assigned to the Gray Lady on autonomous assignment," N'Skrek said.
"You heard me," the slim bald man said. He gave a grin. "You may also know me as Vat Grown Luke or Dhruv Deshmuhk."
The woman spoke and he shook his head. "Yes, sister, I know, Deshmuhk is my slave name. I wear it for revenge."
The woman spoke again, her tone slightly chiding.
"Like they say, the best revenge is living well, sister," the man said, still smiling.
Again, the woman spoke.
N'Skrek noticed that his implant was absolutely no help in deciphering the woman's speech.
"I know that doing things like that and saying things like that is exactly why Daxin always told me people wanted to punch me in the face," the man laughed.
He turned back to Captain N'Skrek.
"My apologies. My sister refuses to speak anything but her people's ancient tongue," his eyes gleamed with mischief. "She is slightly put out with me for answering in Confederate Standard, since now you know that she understands perfectly what you are saying."
N'Skrek nodded. Vat Grown Luke had given up a valuable piece of information in what was sure to be delicate negotiations.
"And what should we call your sister?" N'Skrek asked.
Vat Grown Luke smiled. "Tsakáka Wia, but it would probably be easier for you to use the more common name," he said.
The woman spoke sternly.
"What? It's your commonly known name?" he said, smiling.
The woman's face grew stern and she spoke rapidly.
"The first lesson we learn, sister mine, is that we must bend the knee to reality," Luke said gently. "That name has no power, only a few of us remember it."
i remember
the bees remember
can't you hear it in their buzzing?
The woman spoke again, her expression softening.
Luke turned back to the gathered officers. "Her name, as you would know it, is Sacajawea."
N'Skrek consulted his implant.
And felt fear chill his icon. He looked at his staff and saw that a lot of them looked sick.
"That's right. We are real, and he was real," Luke said. He leaned forward slightly. "He was real both times."
N'Skrek stayed relaxed and calm, at least outwardly.
"I am willing to accept, at this time, that the Biological Apostles and the Digital Omnimessiah were and are real," N'Skrek said.
"Just be glad Dax isn't here. He's not as even tempered as I am," Luke said.
Sacajawea spoke again and Luke laughed. He looked at Captain N'Skrek. "She was just reminding me of the time Daxin completely lost his cool and went to town with his cutting bar on a Countess Crey Bingo Cola vending machine that ate his money then mocked him for it."
"He was known as Enraged Phillip," N'Skrek said.
Sacajawea spoke for a moment and Legion laughed, then turned to N'Skrek.
"Yes."
N'Skrek hated that. When a person spoke at length and the translator just replied with a single word.
"Why are you here?" N'Skrek asked.
Legion smiled. "You have forgotten important things, Captain. You, and the entire Confederacy have forgotten some very important things."
"Like what?" N'Skrek asked.
"If you print enough identical clones, I am reborn through them," Legion smiled. "But that's not the big part. The big one is the one that the Mar-gite's masters either forgot or never learned."
"What is that?" N'Skrek asked.
Legion smiled widely.
"What fear tastes like."
your name is dhruv

2024.05.15 00:22 Ya_Boi_Blue_ Thoughts and Recommendations on final parts list?

parts list https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Pq4LTY
Hey everyone, I'm building a new PC that will mostly be used for gaming, watching TV and YouTube, and some minor graphic design and animation. I've spent the last few months going part by part and combination by combination to choose my parts to build the best PC for my needs within my budget, 2300 CAD, and came up with this list with my reasoning for choosing these parts. ANY thoughts or recommendations on the overall build, price point, parts or my writing skills are welcome and appreciated, Thank you!
CPU-Ryzen 7800x3d- I picked this CPU because it seems to be the best for gaming and some productivity, came highly rated and i kept reading that it was the best gaming CPU. I also read that even though the 7900x3d should be better mix for gaming and productivity it somehow is worse at both.
CPU cooler-Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler- I picked this cooler because it was recommended as the best bang for your buck CPU cooler while still delivering on performance, which let me spend more money on other parts of the build.
Motherboard-Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard- The motherboard was honestly the part that took me the longest to decide on since there were just WAY too many options and WAY too many seemingly being prone to being lemons of having had issues that have since been fixed. Why i finally decided on this one though is that the issues it had, frying 7000 series CPUs, had reportedly been fixed so long as I flash the bios before installing my CPU, as well as that it meets all my needs in attempting to future proof my motherboard without dropping 400 or more CAD on it.
Memory-G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory- Once I finally understood how Ram worked and how EXPO worked I basically went with what was cheapest in those parameters, not much else to say about it.
Storage-Western Digital Black SN850X 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive- Much like memory I don't have much to say about my choice of storage, Western digital seems like a good brand, I have a different one of their SSDs in my current PC, has about the same performance as similar performing SSDs while being cheaper in price.
GPU-4070 Super FE- I decided on the 4070 Super Fe for a few reasons, I heard Nvidia is better if I want to graphic design or animation as well as gaming, the 4070 super seems to be in the sweet spot for performance/price and I've read that the Fe retains it's value the best for when I want to upgrade.
Case-NZXT H6 Flow- I chose the H6 Flow because I liked the design, and I read that it was both easy to build in as well as being great for air cooling.
PSU-Corsair RM750- I'm stuck with this one because I already bought it when it was on a good sale, My reasoning for buying it though is that most importantly the wattage should be enough, and also because the RM series of Corsair power supplies seems to rank pretty high on most peoples tier lists of PSUs. Added bonus of being fully modular.

2024.05.15 00:18 rnodern Ableton hangs and crashes on launch when laptop is connected to WiFi with no internet

Hey everyone,
We have a stage setup with a rack-mounted digital mixer, IEMs, and a MacBook running Ableton standard 11 for backing tracks and sequencing. All components in the setup are connected via a network generated by a mini travel router in our rack (WiFi/Ethernet). This rack-mounted setup is obviously not internet connected. We just use the router to create a network because it is required for the various devices to to communicate to one another.
The problem is, Ableton hangs for minutes during launch and eventually crashes. However, if I disconnect the WiFi or Ethernet from the laptop, Ableton launches normally. It seems like Ableton is trying to connect, and continue to try connecting to some internet service because it detects a network.
My non internet connected setup must be a common use case. Why would Ableton expect musicians to have internet connected stage setups? How can I resolve this issue? I don't want to babysit the laptop on launch or add unnecessary steps like disconnecting the Ethernet cable/switching off wifi which also disrupts other components of our setup (e.g., band members' and monitor engineer's connection to our digital mixer - for example we need to reboot the laptop mid set or switch to redundancy machine).
Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

These sources can include reputable medical organizations, healthcare publications, or industry-specific forums. By obtaining backlinks from such sources, websites can establish their credibility and enhance their online visibility in the medical staffing field. Additionally, it is essential to analyze the anchor text used in the backlinks. The anchor text should accurately reflect the content of the linked page and include relevant keywords such as 'medical staffing.' This not only helps search engines understand the context of the link but also improves the overall SEO performance of the website. Therefore, when reassessing the quality of new backlinks, it is crucial to focus on the relevance of the linking website and the usage of appropriate anchor text.

2024.05.15 00:00 Brief_Mycologist1225 Unleash Vibrant Prints: Choosing the Perfect Color Printer for Your Needs (Hardware Egypt)

In today's digital world, the need for physical prints persists. Whether for professional presentations, creative projects, or cherished photographs, a reliable color printer can be a valuable asset. But with a vast array of options available, selecting the ideal color printer for your specific requirements can feel overwhelming. Here at Hardware Egypt, we're here to guide you through the process, ensuring you find the perfect partner for your printing needs.

Understanding Your Needs: Inkjet vs. Laser

The two primary technologies dominating the color printer market are inkjet and laser. Each boasts distinct advantages and caters to different printing habits.

Inkjet Printers:

Ideal for high-quality photo printing. Inkjet printers produce vibrant colors and exceptional detail, making them perfect for reproducing photographs and graphics.
Generally more affordable upfront cost compared to laser printers.
Known for slower printing speeds than laser printers.
Ink cartridges can be expensive, especially for high-volume printing.
Laser Printers:

Renowned for their fast printing speeds, making them ideal for high-volume printing tasks.
Toner cartridges offer a lower cost per page compared to inkjet cartridges.
Produce crisp, professional-looking text documents.
Not as well-suited for high-quality photo printing as inkjet printers.
Laser printers tend to have a higher initial purchase price.
Beyond Technology: Key Considerations

Having identified your preferred technology, delve deeper into features that enhance your printing experience:

Print Resolution: Measured in dots per inch (dpi), resolution determines the sharpness and detail of your prints. Higher resolutions like 4800 dpi are ideal for photo printing, while lower resolutions (300 dpi) suffice for basic text documents.
Connectivity: Consider how you'll connect to your printer. Most modern printers offer Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing for wireless printing from various devices. Other options include USB ports and Ethernet connections.
Multifunctionality: Do you require scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities alongside printing? Opt for a multifunction printer (MFP) to streamline your workflow and save space.
Running Costs: Factor in not just the initial cost of the printer but also the ongoing expense of ink or toner cartridges. High-yield cartridges can be a cost-effective option for frequent printing.
Paper Handling: Determine the paper sizes your printer can accommodate (A4, A3, etc.) and its automatic paper feeder capacity. This is crucial if you plan on printing large documents or multiple copies at once.
Hardware Egypt: Your One-Stop Shop for Color Printers

At Hardware Egypt, we offer a comprehensive selection of color printers from leading brands like HP, Canon, Epson, and Brother. Our knowledgeable staff is dedicated to understanding your specific needs and recommending the perfect printer for you. Print volume: How often will you be using the printer? If you only print occasionally, a more basic model might suffice. However, if you plan on printing frequently, a higher-volume printer with lower running costs will be more economical.
Environmental impact: Look for printers with eco-friendly features, such as energy-saving modes and recyclable cartridges.
Brand reputation: Consider the brand's reputation for quality, reliability, and customer service.

Preparing for the Audit

Defining the audit objectives

When defining the audit objectives, it is important to consider the specific goals and targets that need to be achieved. The audit objectives serve as a roadmap for the entire auditing process, providing a clear direction and focus. In the case of optimizing every web page with a detailed audit using SEMrush, the primary objective is to identify areas of improvement and implement strategies that can enhance the overall performance and visibility of the website. By conducting a comprehensive audit, businesses can gain valuable insights into their website's strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to make informed decisions and take necessary actions to optimize their online presence. Whether it's improving website speed, enhancing user experience, or optimizing content for search engines, the audit objectives play a crucial role in guiding the optimization process and ensuring the desired outcomes are achieved.

Identifying key performance indicators

Key performance indicators (KPIs) play a crucial role in measuring the success of a website's performance. By identifying and tracking specific metrics, website owners can gain valuable insights into how well their web pages are performing and identify areas for improvement. These KPIs can include metrics such as page load time, bounce rate, conversion rate, and organic search traffic. By analyzing these indicators, website owners can make informed decisions on how to optimize their web pages for better performance and user experience. In this article, we will explore how to conduct a detailed audit using SEMrush to identify key performance indicators and optimize every web page accordingly.

Gathering necessary data and tools

To optimize every web page with a detailed audit using SEMrush, the first step is gathering necessary data and tools. This crucial stage involves identifying key metrics, such as organic traffic, backlinks, and keyword rankings, to assess the current performance of the website. Additionally, it is essential to ensure that the necessary tools, such as SEMrush's Site Audit feature, are readily available to conduct a comprehensive analysis. By collecting relevant data and equipping oneself with the right tools, website owners can gain valuable insights and make informed decisions to enhance their web pages' optimization.

Technical Analysis

Checking for crawlability and indexability

When it comes to checking for crawlability and indexability of a web page, there are several important factors to consider. One of these factors is the logo design. The logo design plays a crucial role in creating a strong brand identity and attracting visitors to the website. It is important to ensure that the logo is properly optimized for search engines and is easily crawlable and indexable. By following best practices for logo design, such as using descriptive alt text and optimizing the file size, webmasters can improve the crawlability and indexability of their web pages.

Analyzing page load speed

Analyzing page load speed is crucial for optimizing the performance of a website. It directly impacts user experience and can significantly affect search engine rankings. When it comes to making money with a home security company, ensuring a fast page load speed is even more important. Slow-loading pages can lead to frustrated visitors who may abandon the site and seek services from competitors. By conducting a detailed audit using SEMrush, webmasters can identify and address any issues that may be slowing down their web pages. This includes optimizing images, minifying code, and leveraging browser caching. Implementing these optimizations can not only improve page load speed but also increase the chances of attracting and retaining potential customers. One important aspect to consider is the mobile-friendliness of your site, as more and more people are accessing the internet through their smartphones. Additionally, it is crucial to review and optimize the redirects on your website to ensure a seamless user experience. When it comes to optimizing your web page for search engines, paying attention to the URL structure and redirects is key.

On-Page Optimization

Optimizing meta tags and descriptions

When it comes to optimizing meta tags and descriptions, one important aspect to consider is the use of premium WordPress themes. These themes offer a range of benefits, including enhanced design options, improved functionality, and better performance. By utilizing premium WordPress themes, website owners can ensure that their meta tags and descriptions are not only visually appealing but also optimized for search engines. With the ability to customize meta tags and descriptions, website owners can incorporate relevant keywords and create compelling descriptions that entice users to click through to their website. Additionally, premium WordPress themes often come with built-in SEO features, making it easier to optimize meta tags and descriptions without the need for additional plugins or tools. Overall, optimizing meta tags and descriptions with premium WordPress themes is an effective strategy for improving search engine visibility and driving more organic traffic to a website.

Improving keyword usage and density

Improving keyword usage and density is crucial for optimizing web pages. One important aspect of this optimization process is ensuring that the keyword, in this case, Wix, is used effectively throughout the content. By incorporating the keyword naturally and strategically, it helps search engines understand the relevance of the webpage to the user's search query. Additionally, using the keyword in headings, subheadings, and meta tags can further enhance its visibility. To achieve optimal keyword density, it is important to strike a balance between using the keyword enough to rank well in search results, but not overusing it to the point of keyword stuffing. By following these best practices, website owners can improve their web page's visibility and attract more organic traffic.

Enhancing content readability and structure

Enhancing content readability and structure is crucial for optimizing web pages. By following best practices, such as using clear headings, organizing content into paragraphs, and incorporating bullet points, you can improve the overall user experience. Additionally, utilizing appropriate font styles, sizes, and colors can enhance readability. Another important aspect is the use of hyperlinks, which can provide additional information and resources. By examining the quality and quantity of backlinks pointing to a site, webmasters can gain valuable insights into its authority and relevance in the online landscape. One important aspect of backlink assessment is analyzing the anchor text used in the links. In the case of a staffing company logo, it is essential to ensure that the logo is properly linked and associated with relevant keywords. By doing so, the website can enhance its visibility and credibility, thereby attracting more potential clients and improving its overall online presence.

Monitoring social signals

Monitoring social signals is an essential aspect of optimizing every web page. By keeping track of social signals such as likes, shares, and comments, website owners can gain valuable insights into the performance and popularity of their content. Additionally, monitoring social signals allows businesses to understand how their target audience is engaging with their web pages and identify areas for improvement. This information can be particularly valuable for individuals who are advancing in their careers, as it provides a clear indication of the impact and reach of their online presence. By leveraging tools like SEMrush, professionals can conduct a detailed audit of their web pages, analyze social signals, and make data-driven decisions to optimize their content and enhance their career prospects.

Analyzing online reputation

Analyzing online reputation is an important aspect of optimizing every web page. It allows businesses to understand how their brand is perceived by the online community and identify areas for improvement. One key factor to consider is the design of a website. A stand out car website design can make a significant impact on the reputation of a business. By incorporating visually appealing elements and user-friendly navigation, a website can attract more visitors and enhance the overall user experience.
