I’m a 26 year old girl and I never do selfies or put up profile pictures on social media because I hate the way I look. Same with my voice. I never send voice messages and I hate doing phone calls, because I hate the way that I sound. I don’t take pictures of myself or let people take pictures of me. I don’t know why but I’m really scared of it. When somebody tries to take a picture of me I get stressed out and shaky, my chest feels tight with anxiety. I hate feeling this way and I can’t explain why I do but it’s effecting my relationships with people. I can’t get to know people online because they just think I’m a weirdo for not being able to send a photo or a voice message. Any advice for me?

WE have one particular hosted server (ESXI) that runs a remote finance app for a client that acts (OfficeApps) very sluggish via external address (xxxx.yyyy.online) via Windows RDP. One particular feature of this finance app is that it uses Outlook to email. When it tries to publish the document and then email, it can take up to 10 minutes to finish via RD but on server it takes a second or two. Via RD it also most of the times fail to open Outlook but on the server itself it is instant.
Server resources average around 10-25% and never reach 40%. Only 6 RD users and only 1 user using the email publishing feature.
Question now is - is sluggishness a common thing with published RD apps? If so, what can be done to optimize them?
Client has a 1GB/1GB prioritized fibre and less than 4ms latency to RD server.
I've tried researching articles but it seems to be a rapid hole and most just reference to hardware resources.
Ideas or suggestions would be appreciated

Hi everyone,
On December 12th I took my last injection of Abilify Maintena of 300mg.
I had two prior injections and have been suffering from Erectile Dysfunction since then.
I heard it takes 5-7 half lives to flush out this medication at a half life of 47 days per cycle. So in other words, it’s expected to flush out of my system so where between August and November since the injection has a much higher half life.
My question is, will the ED reverse after flushing out? Or is this permanent? I can only get it up with manual stimulation and then the erection only lasts for 30 seconds if left unstimulated. Once the meds are flushed out is this fixable?

My neighbor installed a security camera that looks at one small area of their property, but MOSTLY my chill area and it's really disrupted my mental health. I take medicine for anxiety, it keeps me together, but this has proven to be a breakthrough event.
I spoke with them and they have a pretty valid reason, they want security on this area, they suspect some stalking activity, but I feel like they could definitely achieve that and have the camera focused more on their property than mine. Was approved to relocate. Leaving next month. Still paranoid about RTO. How bad is it really out there? (Rant)
I’m a super high anxiety person - clearly. I’ve been fully remote between two jobs for about four years - 3 with my current company. I can’t imagine life without it. I work mostly on BI / data analytics and have a masters in CS / undergrad in Management.
My current company is based in Florida. I moved here about 6 months before the lockdowns at the recommendation of my boss at the time. Anyways, I hate Florida. No family here, no friends, the climate is awful. I just hate it.
I sucked it up for 3 years because I was still new and I wanted to be ready in the event there was a mandate. Since then, I got promoted, joined a new team and love my job. It’s been at the cost of my mental health as I’ve hated being in FL so much. Last year, I asked my boss if I could move to a state to be closer to family. She was so nervous at first because it sounded like I was quitting. She was immediately saying yes I can go. She’s said often that she can’t lose me. I got approval from her and her boss. I move next month. My role is not client facing. No reason to be in person. I’m running SQL queries and building reports.
Meanwhile, new CEO. He’s very pro RTO. There’s been no mandate but in his near bi weekly town halls he expresses how much he loves in person work. It’s mostly required on a team by team basis. A lot of people are back 3x a week. Some 5x. And there’s no remote postings anymore, all hybrid or on-site. I read all this news about RTO coming full force. All remote work articles I read are propaganda funded by real estate companies. I see this stuff about Walmart and Dell just ruining the lives of so many remote workers and making them relocate to just some cities I’d really hate to live in. I see companies laying people off who won’t comply.
I feel lucky in a sense. My boss and her boss gave approval. We already have a remote team member as well in our small 5 person team - so there was precedent. Ive been told some higher ups really like me and the work I do, so I guess I have some strong support. I asked one more time a month ago before signing my lease if there was any risk in leaving and that this was the last chance, and my boss not only said I was good but that, in the event RTO became a thing; it’s best to leave now.”
My worry is really just the new company leadership. The new HR person. Those types. I worry in a year I’m an easy target, but I’m also in a team that is pretty essential. I’ve been reassured twice. But this is also a CEO taking our summer Fridays, doing layoffs we’ve never seen, etc. I never worked well in an office. I never used to sleep well out of constant fear of being late and already being an insomniac. Pet daycare bills and car bills alone would leave me with no disposable income. I am an introvert with no interest in office talk - I just want to do my job in peace, which I do well. I could never go back. You couldn’t pay me enough. Yet I’m still nervous, the news freaks me out. It feels like remote work is gone. I know there’s crackdowns but I know I could also be just working myself up on the landscape of remote work.
I feel like after all the reassurance, I shouldn’t be as worried but I am. I’m so excited to move and see my family again and reconnect with friends and be somewhere I love. But I also just feel this fear that remote work is gone and this could happen at any time. Probably overthinking it. I just hope given my background and the work I do, I’ll have options.

Im currently working for a city government open intake shelter and looking to leave. I got an offer to interview for a part time position with one location (7 hours a day, 4 days a week). I asked if I could eventually move into a full time position should it eventually open up and got a message back saying “This position is part-time and it won’t eventually develop into Full-time. We don’t have any full-time positions open at the moment but I can let you know when we do.” I take that to mean I could move in when it’s available? I’m hesitant with this location because a lot of reviews say that management lacks empathy and is a bit toxic if someone attempts to move into administration or generally better themselves.
The second offer I got is twice as far but it is full time with benefits and a dollar more. It’s also a position where I would also be transporting animals and supplies between locations which I think would be a good break from doing shelter work.
TLDR: Anyone with experience working for this company: did a part time worker ever move into a full time position, also, how often did you receive raises, if at all?

Months, years, or even centuries later you can't be sure you finally pick up her trail and for the first time in a long time a true laugh leaves your lips and with tear filled eyes you look up into the strange sky of the warp "Thank you Bjorn, thank you so much."

I've really loved this show from the beginning, but one of the most frustrating aspects for me has been the way they handle the deaths of main characters. I feel like there's never a narrative purpose or connection to actual story telling, it's always been for shock value, and often in a way that robs the audience of payoff from long established storylines.
For example, when Dr. Melendez died, it was literally just because they hadn't killed a main character yet. They wanted to be "honest" with the audience, that sometimes bad things just happen. The problem is, they had spent several seasons establishing a potential relationship between him and Claire, and ultimately robbed the audience of that payoff. And when the audience is left frustrated from unresolved plotlines, it kind of takes away from the gravity of the character's death.
Asher's death was also sudden and unexpected, but I do think that it would have been handled better had we actually had a full season. I would have loved to see a more drawn out C plot of Asher coming to terms with his religion, hints of antisemitism in the community. Maybe an episode where he is treating someone that is vocally antisemtitic (maybe this exists but I can't remember it right now). A storyline where he ultimately comes to terms with his religion, he and Jerome get engaged and have a big Jewish wedding (audience payoff), and then he is tragically murdered. I know they had Asher killed in a hate crime to make a statement, but it feels like it was very rushed and the message feels kind of hollow. Ultimately not a bad choice to kill the character off, but poorly executed.
And now we come to Glassy and Claire. I'm going to be honest- Glassman should have died a long time ago. The series itself has been focused on Shawn's growth as a doctor but also as a person. At the beginning of the series, Shawn was very dependent on Glassman to stick up for him, validate his ideas, and interpret social interactions. But now Shawn is a very competent and respected surgeon in his own right, with a wife and son. He has a whole network of people who help him navigate socially. Glassman is still a really important presence in Shawn's life, but Shawn is no longer dependent on him. And the ultimate challenge to that growth would be to see what Shawn does when Glassman dies. But we're being denied that, because he's dying at the very end of the series. So what is the point in him dying?
As for Claire....I just want to give her a hug. The girl cannot have nice things! First her estranged father comes back, and he dies. Then she starts to repair her relationship with her mom, but looky there, she dies too. And when she finally starts to get a shred of happiness with Dr. Melendez, you guessed it, he dies. Claire is not allowed to have nice things. The writers finally put her out of her misery by giving her a beautiful send off where she finds fulfillment in helping people. Despite how they treated her, the writers knew she was a fan favorite and I was initially really excited when I first learned she was coming back for the finale. But my heart sank at that first promo when they said she had cancer. Why bring back a fan favorite, who you knew the audience loved and you had already given a nice send off, just to kill her off in the last episode? I know we don't actually know what's going to happen because the finale isn't until next week, but with their track record of making Claire the punching bag, I'm expecting the worst.
Now I'm not saying you can't kill off main characters- you can and absolutely should if it makes sense for the story/narrative. I've just been deeply unsatisfied with the way all major character deaths have been handled thus far. I'd be interested to see what others have thought about them. /endrant

My friend has trouble sleeping, snores, is always tired because he doesn't sleep well, and thinks he may have sleep apnoea. He hasn't been tested/gone for a sleep trial, but his brother has been using a cpap machine for a few years now after a friend gave it to him, and I think it helps.
I think my friend is a bit unsure about getting a cpap machine/how effective it would be/how pricey they can come out to (he's refused my offer of helping to put funds towards buying a machine if he really wants one)
I guess I'm just posting because he's my friend and I want him to take care of himself/his health and get good sleep. I'm trying to look into the machines and sleep apnoea as much as I can to understand the machine bettehow they work/the different types available.
Does anyone in this sub mind sharing some tips, or their own stories using cpap machines? If you have any recommendations, whether that's going to a sleep clinic first before buying, or what type of masks you found most helpful, etc, I'd be grateful. Any tidbits and info people can share would be great help.

So I decided to purchase a game from Ubisoft during their current sale. They have a coupon anyone can use to save $10 on an order.
I go to checkout after applying the coupon, and their website will not let me check out. I try a few times. Log out. Log back in. Clear my cart. I try a different web browser. The checkout button literally does nothing once I'm in my cart.
So I decide to purchase it through Ubisoft Connect. For some reason my store isn't showing up, but restarting the app fixes that. It's not their fault though, ubisoft Connect is just in beta which is why they forced it on all users a few months ago.
So I put my order in, add the coupon, add my credit card. Order screen shows that my purchase is applying the $10 coupon.
The order goes through and the order complete screen does not show the coupon. I immediately click the "Request refund" button to try to redo the order and apply the coupon again. Nope it won't let me refund due to "the policy".
So I reach out to scrUbisoft support and let them know about the situation. After some back and forth collecting information, they say that I didn't apply the coupon. Yeah I know that's what your oder says ubisoft, that's why i'm reaching out to your support. I didn't need your support person to tell me that I was billed for the full price. That's the issue I'm reaching out with.
Then they suggest I try for a refund. I explain that I've already tried this and they send back a "too bad so sad" and mark my support ticket as complete.
So now I have two options, I can do a credit card charge back and get my account banned along with all of my ubisoft games, or I can suck up the $10.
Don't worry Ubisoft, you've taught me my lesson. I'm never purchasing a game from you again. You're a dogshit company who has made a lot of terrible decisions over the years, and now you'd rather generate bad will with me then give me credit for a coupon that literally everyone has access to.
