Manifest required for stamped items?

2024.05.14 11:07 Lubalin Manifest required for stamped items?

I just dropped off 1k large letters, all with physical stamps covering the cost of postage, at the local depot.
The person on the counter told me I'd need a shipping manifest in future for them to be accepted.
However, when I look into it, I can't find evidence that this is required (or even possible) with stamped parcels.
I don't mind doing it, I just can't find a way of physically producing one?

2024.05.14 11:07 bubble-brains How to find paralegal/legal internships? And is cold calling ok?

So I am close to finishing my assiocates paralegal program and my A.A. All I need is my internship, which I'm having trouble finding. All the summer internships that were offered on handshake and other sites that my program director gave are filled or dont meet my requirements. I missed out on submitting my resume due to a competition and family issues. I want to start cold calling firms or hand-out my resume to firms and ask if they are looking for interns, I feel that this would paint me in a negative light and seen as pushy.
Also, some more information
I am currently working part-time as a receptionist at a car dealership and would like to continue working as I do my internship. Got to pay rent and bills somehow
My program director is pretty hands-off and is new to the position. She really hasn't been helpful in advising students beyond giving out the websites and resume/cover letter help.
I haven't seen any posting on handshake or other websites for fall internships
I plan on talking with my schools career success guy, but I'm unsure if he is available in the summertime.
Internship requirements
  1. I need 150 hours
  2. I can only work at a max of 10-15 hours a week. ( This is my program directors suggestion, and also, I would be working part-time and having an 11 credit course load)
  3. Needs to be a legal internship within a legal setting
My main question is, what's the best strategy to finding an internship? And how do I go about finding one?

Subject: Concerns Regarding Proposed Rule Change SR-OCC-2024-001
Dear [rule-comments@sec.gov](mailto:rule-comments@sec.gov),
I am writing to express my concerns about SR-OCC-2024-001, titled “Proposed Rule Change by The Options Clearing Corporation Concerning Its Process for Adjusting Certain Parameters in Its Proprietary System for Calculating Margin Requirements During Periods When the Products It Clears and the Markets It Serves Experience High Volatility.”
I appreciate the opportunity to provide input on this matter. However, I cannot support the approval of this proposal due to several reasons:
  1. Lack of Transparency: The proposal contains significant redactions, preventing meaningful public review and comment.
  2. Systemic Risk: The OCC's proposal to reduce margin requirements for Clearing Members poses increased risk to the stability of our financial system. If clearing members cannot meet their financial obligations - they must close their bets.
  3. Conflict of Interest: The role of the Financial Risk Management Officer has an inherent conflict of interest to oversee both the well-being of Clearing Members as well as the agency itself.
  4. Moral Hazard: The proposal shifts the costs of Clearing Member defaults to the non-bank liquidity facility, creating a moral hazard and perpetuating an unfair marketplace.
  5. Inadequate Risk Management: The proposal fails to properly manage liquidity risk and increases systemic risk, as evidenced by the OCC's reliance on reducing margin requirements.
With note to the rejection reasons as put forward by the SEC in the dismissal of this rule:
  • Failure to promote prompt and accurate clearance and settlement of securities transactions and safeguard securities and funds.
  • Lack of clear and direct lines of responsibility in governance arrangements.
  • Inadequate policies and procedures to cover credit exposures to participants and insufficient margin calculation to cover potential future exposure.
In conclusion, I support the SEC in their rejection of this proposed rule change - to ensure the protection of all investors and the integrity of our financial markets.
Thank you for considering my concerns and for your continued help to protect our markets,
Sincerely,
Household investor.

2024.05.14 09:59 Weekly_Instance_8134 Piercing apprenticeship advice

It seems impossible to get an opportunity in this industry. I have all of my certifications, currently reading reading running the gauntlet, and love watching and reading APP piercers content like Ryan Oullette and Lynn Loheide, etc!!! I’m knowledgeable on sterilization, jewelry, history of the body piercing needle and of course how the industry became in the 70s. There’s not a piece of homework I haven’t done purely out of my own fascination. I’m currently trying to better my cover letter if I could get some advice on that too as someone with 0 shop experience. I’m very aware I’ll be spending 24/7 learning and cleaning before the apprenticeship starts pays off. I’m aware that a lot of piercers do not make much money. I understand building a relationship with a piercer is the “only way in” but I don’t think it hurts to check out the local reputable shops I follow around me and introduce myself and express my interest and get advice or references. I usually am asking about front desk, while mentioning my passion and buying some jewelry what not. I’ve been getting pierced by the same person for the past 5 years, people just aren’t taking apprenticeships at all and want somebody experienced.

2024.05.14 09:56 PjsPeaches What do therapists legally need to know?

I’ve been in therapy for almost my whole life and have gone through probably 7 of them (usually because they move and my insurance no longer covers it). On the first session it’s mostly the legal details they have to write down, I don’t know the specifics. It’s questions like, “what are some traumas?”, “what are your family dynamics?”, “are you on medication?”, “have you been to a psychiatric hospital”, etc. I HATE the first day. When I come to a new therapist it’s usually because I’m in deep shit and really just need to talk to someone, not to rehash old trauma. Is there a list of things therapists need to have written down/documented? Because I’d really just prefer to create a list, skip the legal part and deal with my current situation, and leave early so I’m not making anyone work overtime. I have no idea if that’s even possible but it would be SO nice.
Tl;dr: What things do therapists have to have documented after the first visit? Is it possible to make a list with the requirements and move on to other topics?

2024.05.14 09:50 Altruisticannon Help with online applications please

Hello, I am an ER nurse with a little over 2 years experience in an ER that is a level 1 trauma center, stroke center, and STEMI center. I’ve been told over and over again by coworkers that this experience should punch my ticket to any other job I want, and yet when I apply to other positions at other hospitals in my area, I’m just hearing crickets.
I’m wondering if any of you have advice on the online application process? To be honest, I have my job now because I was an ED Tech in this ER while I was in school and even getting the tech job, I knew someone who was able to help me out.
I feel like an idiot, but how important is a cover letter for every application? I have fixed up my resume and always upload and include that, but does anyone have some tricks on how to get my online application to stand out? Any help would be appreciated!

2024.05.14 09:35 dangerclosecustoms Dune Extended Edition Steelbook for my 4K disc

Dune Extended Edition Steelbook for my 4K disc
I moved my 1984 David Lynch 4K Dune disc to my oldschool metallic embossed steel book case. The case is beautiful the lettering of Dune are raised and a gold metallic color that pops against the darker background. Picture doesn’t show how nice this case is in real life.
This Original Dune is my #1 favorite movie of all time. It gets hated on and clowned a lot but I don’t care it speaks to me in certain ways that few other movies did I watched it all the time growing up. I watched it in the theater as a kid, it’s epic long story, and I love the score too.
Then I moved my Dune part 1 & 2 4K discs into the Arrow Dune special edition box. That outer cover with the Sand Worm is worthy of the new Dune set and when I see the box I know its contents will be the new Dune movies.

2024.05.14 09:34 LetsB4real Please help me find sexy nursing bras!

Okay, I have done my reading and boob studying! I believe I am moderately projected with even fullness. I am a UK 30H. I don't like fuller cups der l'd prefer to show a little bit of cleavage. I'm tired of wearing nursing bras that make my boobs look like a sock. I think what I am experiencing is called the "orange in small glass" phenomenon (did I say that right?). I feel like I have only found nursing bras that are "fuller cups" and cover everything and they make me feel grandma-ish and also make my breasts look pointy (in not a good way). I think what l'm looking for is padded. This is my last hope for a nursing bra as I have plans just to buy a "regular" bra. Also... if I do buy a regular bra will I be okay? Will I ruin the integrity of that bra constantly pulling the pads to the side, etc? Thanks in advance!

2024.05.14 09:23 1000piecepuzzles My partner told me to just pick one and stop talking about job plans. Which would you pick? (List on bottom)

What would you pick? I need a career that can pay to cover inflation for like 60 years, I need a lot of money to cover for emergency savings, house savings multiple kids and a partner and myself in case my partner cannot work for medical reasons.
I’m very bad at sales, so I was bad in hair salons and two personal businesses failed. Bad at physical stamina standing 10 hours
I’m very good at school memorization, and 24/7 workweeks.
I tend to have coworkers spread rumors to get me laid off and me be called a kiss up and a smart ass to my face by them. Because I will do everything and help a boss/coworker out in every aspect and be nice about it. That’s how I see a job to be.
I’m looking at auto mechanic, CDL trucking solo, anesthesiologist, surgeon, surgical tech, vet tech, veterinarian, Lawyer for patent law, orthodontist, dental hygienist, dentist, nurse for planned parenthood(gentle environment IMO), RBT (autism behavior helping), forklift/warehouse, paramedic,
Really anything that can pay for a safer life tbh

My husband and I moved to Belgium 6 months ago, still trying to figure out how do the health insurances work :D I am an independent worker with a company here in Belgium, we both benefited from private insurance offered by his employer. Yesterday my husband decided he will also become independent and gave his resignation letter, which means in few weeks he will no longer be part of current company.
