Well, I’ve been waiting for this update to go to the next NG+ and I’ve been spending my time really learning shipbuilding. I’ve really gotten hooked on these ship, so I decided to make Bills of Material and breakdown schematics for them. If you want to use the template for yourself, feel free to save the sheet to your own G-Drive.
This has my modifications to Star Eagle, Silent Ru nner, and Razorleaf. And it has build from scratch plans for the tiny but deadly Hornet’s Nest and massive Fearless.

Hello,
Yesterday I noticed an unusual amount of Bitcoin was sent to my wallet in Coinbase, and I contacted Support to inquire about that, as I did not request nor was expecting any transactions like that. The rep told me it was completed and available in my account. I didn't think that was right. It had to be a mistake. So I started a new chat, this time I requested the agent give me the hash of the transaction because I had to make sure that was legit. Eventually the rep discovered it was some type of glitch and they weren't true deposits or whatever, and I noticed today the amount was gone and my account balance was back to what it was, but now my account is BLOCKED! I have money (USDC) in my Coinbase card that I need to use asap, and I was given no eta or resolution yet. Today I called and I was asked to send a selfie with a sheet stating this was for Coinbase verification and the rep confirmed it was received. Yet my account is still blocked, and I've done nothing wrong. I am not even sure what happened to my account. I just want my account back, and be able to trade and use my Coinbase card as I've been using.
Any help will be appreciated.

I frequently have to do the following in LibreOffice Calc:

1. Save As
2. Change file type to `csv`
3. Click "Save"
4. confirm the save as because the file already exists by clicking "yes"
5. Accept the save options (they are correct by default) by clicking "ok"
6. Accept the warning that only the current sheet was saved by clicking "ok"

Is this something that AHK can automate? I have only ever used AHK to type Unicode characters, so very simple stuff. I've never interacted with dialogue boxes.
The script wouldn't have to be very robust, meaning that I would assume that the same dialog boxes always present in the same order every time.
If this is possible, can someone let me know what they concepts are called that I need to learn? I've looked at the documentation but I can't figure out what this is even called.

PS: I have investigated macros in LibreOffice and it appears that doing this through its native macro system would be extremely complicated because of the csv format. There doesn't seem to be a macro system simply for clicking through dialog boxes.
PPS: If there is another tool (free, please) that could do this if AHK cannot, I would love to hear.

Gathering thirty bedsheets is not exactly an easy task, okay?
Normally, Orion didn't see any problem in buying the stuff others need, especially if they would reimburse him later. But the fact was... he didn't have enough money to buy the sheets AJ had requested.
When the boy had taken a look at the Hermes Express product catalog, he hadn't imagined that ALL the sheets they sold were made with wool from Polyphemus' carnivorous sheep. He wondered how Hermes managed to take so much wool without the cyclops noticing. Until he remembered that the monster is INFAMOUSLY blind and, well... Hermes is the king of thieves.
So, Orion didn't have the money to buy so many high-quality sheets, and he was... less than thrilled to leave the camp to buy them from some Bed Bath & Beyond. So how is he going to solve the job he accepted for AJ?
By breaking the rules. In a less... messy way than he already has experience with.
The cleaning harpies are not the friendliest monsters, even though they have to deal with campers 24/7. But amazingly, they won't deny a little help with their chores from time to time. In fact, it's very easy to get those dodos unaccostumed with their own job if you offer help more than once. And that's how Orion gained access to the Big House laundry room.
Did he have to get his hands dirty and wash a lot of clothes? Absolutely. But now that he was "responsible" for cleaning, softening, scenting, and folding the campers' sheets, he was in the perfect position to swipe one, two, five, maybe seven sheets at a time. It took a while, as you might imagine... But Orion had time and, above all, patience.
Orion would spend that afternoon stacking thirty-five bedsheets, stolen right under the noses of the cleaning harpies, on the Apollo Cabin porch. Could this cause problems for him later? Oh, no doubt about that.
But honestly... the feeling of a mission accomplished made him feel better. It was a nice distraction, after all.
He knocked on the Cabin 7's door, hoping AJ would be the one to open it so he wouldn't have to explain to one of her siblings what he was doing there with so many bedsheets.

• abracadabra1998 ($1.23M Thursday comp. My model has been pretty good for animated/family releases in the past, hence why every comp is so eerily similar. Still, looking at others' numbers and how much lower mine are, I am wondering if summer break might be something to consider here; from what I am aware, here in Minnesota most school districts don't start break until June (May 13). Hoping for some real acceleration this last week but not looking good (May 12). One week out, not impressed in the slightest (May 9). Rising against comps as expected, due to the short release window, but I am still failing to see anything that suggests the numbers given by some other outlets (May 5). The release window for this is way shorter than all these comps so those numbers will naturally go up. Decent growth in the last three days (May 2).)
  
• AniNate (I'm gonna guess that Nick IP spot for IF this morning ratcheted up interest, Fri-Sun sales at Canton now close to 200. Also of those 200 about 50 were for XD. Not the usual overwhelming presale split but not insignificant for a kids movie also playing on two standard screens (May 13). 45 sold at the five nearest Cinemarks for Thursday previews so far, so yeah there's evidently some kind of regional variation (May 13). I definitely haven't seen as much of a rush here with Garfield as with IF (May 11). I dunno, I have no comps but I feel like local presales is a pretty sizable haul a week in advance for an original non-Disney kids movie (May 9). I did see a surprising amount of single sales looking at IF charts (May 1).)

In this case the comparison numbers were very similar, around 6-7M. Overall it was a boring counting today which lasted too long for so few action. And judging from some random samples Garfield also saw no significant jumps (I also didn't expect much, it's still too early IMO). Thursday up 92% since last Monday. I hoped for a bit better jump till today :( but it's also not too bad. So for Friday no big numbers but up 75% since last Monday (and the jump must have happened pretty recently) (May 13). Up 73.5% since Monday (where it had 143 sold tickets). Best sales in California, not doing too bad between the coasts. The number today is ok to me (May 12). Not really signs for a breakout for Friday so far, but very solid. It will not really get 4-6M Thursday e.g. compared to Migration but from most comps the number could be pretty decent (May 7). Looked good for the film, both on Thursday and on Friday (May 6).)

With such low sales, you can't read too much into anything, but it kind of speaks to how this isn't grabbing the family crowd (May 14). Some marginal movement, but we're running out of time for this. At this stage, I expect my market is an anomaly, but I still hope and expect it will close the gap in the final few days (May 13). Still nothing (May 12). Still nothing happening. I did check Friday sales, and it was a lot stronger with 51 tickets sold. That's better, but still not tremendous. I also checked the wider radius, where it's pretty much exactly where Haunted Mansion was, which hit $3.1M opening (May 11). Still nothing really happening here (May 10). Since the last update, they released full showtime sets, and it actually lost two showtimes rather than gain. From the sound of it, it might be doing better in other Canadian markets, particularly BC (May 8). Numbers are still really low, making the standard track fairly useless. I did do a larger 100km radius track, encompassing the broader southern Ontaro market (~8M population, MTC4 being about 70-80% of the market). Even against Haunted Mansion, which underindexed here, it's not doing well (May 4).)
  

The Strangers: Chapter 1 Thursday Comp: $1.12M

Really good stuff in this market (May 9). Reallyyyyyy good day 1 here. I want to note that: NO I do NOT think preview numbers will be that high; it's just highlighting the fact that this is likely a movie that will be running hot in my market, as cinephile blockbusters usually do. Next update I will have T-14 comps, which will be a lot lower due to the short release window (May 8).)
  
• AniNate (Skimmed through ThuFri and Valley View (Cleveland vicinity) has sold roughly 60 Furiosa tix so far while Tinseltown (Canton) has sold 40. I'm guessing the upfront audience does lean more toward the urban/cosmopolitan sensibilities (May 9). Presales show there's definitely some hype for this. Regal gonna irritate trackers again, offering no upcharge IMAX for Furiosa (May 8).)
  
• Charlie Jatinder ($3.05M Thursday comp.)
  
• el sid ($5.8M average Thursday comp (without Exorcist 2) (May 12). Furiosa continues its strong performance in "my" theaters. The movie yesterday had already 1.310 sold tickets (for Thursday, May 23). Up 15% in ca. 24 hours which isn't bad at all after the first rush. Already comfortably in front of The Fall Guy's final sales (it had 1.071 counted on Thursday for Thursday) and almost on par with Civil War's final sales (1.357) and also the Apes finally had not more than 1.657 sold tickets in my theaters (May 11). I also can't complain about Furiosa's presales in my theaters, not at all. Already 1,138 sold tickets (in all of "my" 7 theaters) for May 23. 14 days left. Promising start. Civil War on Thursday of the release week for Thursday had 1,357 sold tickets and The Fall Guy finally had 1,071 sold tickets (May 9).)

• vafrow (Getting a theatrical release up here in Canada, and early signs are that it might get a pretty decent screen count. Not super wide or anything, but a pretty decent amount for a weekend that has a lot of other releases (May 14).)

The Garfield Movie EA+Thursday Comp: $2.24M

• abracadabra1998 ($0.76M EA comp and $1.19M Thursday comp. Still not really accelerating, and the EA is falling against comps (May 12). Good EA numbers, but many of these comps were PLF-only EA, which this is not, so I think the ATP will be quite lower and that should be adjusted for (May 9).)

• el sid (The very even sales are a good sign (May 7). For Sunday, May 19, I can already report that also in my theaters it looks very good for Garfield. They will for sure add shows soon. It has so far only 1 show/theater and the shows are almost sold out, between 1 and 4 seats are still available. So my guess still is that this movie if it's not totally bad (and first reviews here were quite positive) will become a (big) hit. Seems not much on Thursday but it's a step in the right direction (May 6).)

It has very low ATP as well and actual would be even lower as its going to see tons of kids tickets (May 14). Early shows are regular digital shows at 1PM this sunday. So ATP will be very low. I think 500k ish at best. Preview let us see how things go in the final week. Presales at this point are almost non existent (May 13).)

It's worth noting that the May holiday in Canada is the weekend of May 17-20th, not the weekend after with Memorial Day. I can see families prioritizing getting out the holiday weekend when they have more time (May 4).)
  

The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Re-Releases (June 8-10)

• BoxOfficePro (Fathom Events has also announced that select Regal Cinemas will present the films in 4DX on June 22/23/24 for Fellowship/Towers/Return respectively (May 14).)
  
• katnisscinnaplex (Up to ~1,400 shows now with new locations picking it up and others adding a second showing. LotR1 has sold 831 seats OD, LotR2 sold 715 seats OD, and LotR3 sold 735 seats OD. For comparison, Phantom Menace didn't break 800 tickets until T-3 and we're still over a month out. JW3 comp is currently around 9m (it was at 1,670 tickets sold at this point!) (May 6).)
  

Inside Out 2 Average Thursday Comp: $7.22M

• AniNate (I do see a few 1-2 spots for Inside Out on Saturday. Think some M-F workweek adult fans might be putting down money for that (May 14).)

• TwoMisfits (I'm kinda shocked at the opening set from my Cinemarks... 2 screens (1 PLF, 1 not) and 6 showings at my PLF 14 for Thursday (and 11 showings on the same screens once it runs full day - 7 PLF b/c 1 is 3d on the reg screen, 4 not)... 3 screens (.75 3d, 2.25 not) and 9 showings at the non-PLF 12 for Thursday (and 12 showings on 2.25 screens once it runs full day)... So, 2 and 2.25 screens for the weekend presale sets... Disney must be charging a huge % for themselves b/c this is an Elemental opening set at my PLF...a little more generous for Thursday at my non-PLF, but then they too drop to an Elemental opening set after the adult Disney base Thursday rush... (May 14).)
  
• YM! (n fairness it's only been an hour but yeah sales are softer than I expected. However, it is a month out and will largely skew more towards kids than say TLM/Across so wasn't expecting a blitz like them. Here at Marcus theaters are going all out for IO2 with it having the lion share of PLFs with it getting both screens when there is two PLFs with tentpole like levels of screens (May 14). Was taking a look at Marcus Cinemas to see that they have preloaded Inside Out 2 showtimes which seem to start at 3:00 pm on a Thursday. It seems like Marcus is going all out on it as judging from showtimes it's taking away all of Bad Boys’ PLFs in that theaters that have two+ PLFs are giving all to IO2 (May 11).)

Okay hi guys. So I take weekly French horn lessons, and I knew I was going to have it today. Before my lesson, I was just hanging out, watching TV, and just farting around. I felt fine on the way there, and was even a little excited to see my teacher. But when I was at French horn practice today, I started to feel a little sweaty. I thought it was just because it was humid outside, so I paid no mind. Suddenly, I started to feel nauseous, and like I was going to thrown up. I told the teacher, so I went and I sat over the toilet. I also was pale, and was shaking a lot. The teacher said I was pale as a bed sheet. She gave me some pretzels, water, and a sprite, and I sat on her couch. I felt better, but we had to end our lesson early. When I got in the car, I joked with my dad a bit about him picking me up early, and instead of laughing with me, he got mad and said that I had annoyed my teacher, and that I should have told him that I felt sick before the lesson. I didn't feel sick before the lesson, I felt fine. I have no clue what happened during it, and I have never had a history of low blood sugar or anything, so I don't know what happened. After my dad stopped lecturing me in the car, I took a nap. Once we got home I ate dinner, took a shower, and went to my room. Then my mom said she wanted to talk with me. She told me that I got sick because I didn't want to go to lessons and that my brain made me feel sick.she also said that I could have dealt with it instead of ending the lesson. She said that I was fine, because before the lesson I was relaxing and watching Tv, that if it wasn't something for me to go to the emergency room, that I should just deal with it. She then started talking about it wasn't the first time either, and started comparing it to when I cried to my singing teacher once about how I didn't make a role for a play. This happened like five months ago. I felt completely misunderstood, since she was comparing nausea to crying, and started talking about how she was dealing with how she had surgery, and how dad goes to work everyday even though he is tired. She tried to talk about me dealing with it unless I had to go to the ER, so I asked "what if I had to throw up? Do I have to deal with that?" And she got super mad at me and left. She said something about how she wasn't going to help me anymore. Am I the asshole? I feel like I'm not, because many different sicknesses have no signs of it happening before it happens. (Also sorry for saying "she said that" a ton of times )

Hello all, I am making a google sheet for my dynasty football rookie draft. I have a section for QB, RB, WR and TE. Each with its positional rank, player name, and “Drafted By” dropdown box. I am trying to get a filter for each position that won’t affect the other positions. But the google sheet will only allow one filter. I know I can manually do a sort range when I want to reorder a section, but I’m looking for an easy user experience. Is there anything I can do? Thank you for your time and expertise.

Ethernet has landline 1900s phones two pairs wires reserved in the spec sheet its 8 or so wires when crimping the ends uses like two with one for ground and one seemingly empty and then has two for phone and some unused, with old 10/100 baseT coax with terminating ends exactly like optical or coax 90s cable TV with optical fiber 99% of the way just your block has coax to the rest which uses the 'same'DOCSIS data over cable standards as fibre optic.. just slightly worse latency and bandwidth is calculated by latency things like wifi lan has like 11 channels or 15 channels of frequency which optical calls wavelengths of light. A 2015 or around there linus tech tips video of him going to a swedish lan party called dreamhack had a bunch of multiple redundant 8Terabit or was it bytes of fibre optic internet they explained with light having 7 colors but having 8terabytes of bandwidth with different wavelengths of light called frequencys or a better term for optics is known as LASER ARRAYS of light at fixed frequencys that often plugs into the PC via ethernet cables or whatever for a gamer lan party or home/residential or small businesses at realistically within budget of anything with enough users to require that bandwidth or 'web hosting or web servers' you dont need to be an undersea cable or international link with 200terabits plus for an internet exchange to your main CBD or the fastest like the netherlands IX...
So the problem im trying to solve is, here in australia we got our undersea cables done wrong they kept breaking and we didnt have a navy or defense force securing our countrys communications to prevent war crimes and keep us connected to the global banking systems or whatever.. and then when our biggest telcos cable or fibre all had dialup speeds for around 2 weeks in the early years 2000s to force us to pay other countrys to connect to their links and be ' end of the line' maybe paywalled or proxied off the internet randsomewared to connect to and borrow bandwidth from other countries satellites and other countries undersea link cables which truly were indestructible to any cruise liner ships anchors whatever being flexible giant steel braided cables big as a CAR when australia finally paid to lay small sections of that stuff to link up to others and not pay randsome to internet butt bandits or have private businesses and multi nationals run their own links and ignore the public our lack of a defense force actually let somalian pirates literally somehow pick up and walk off with our expensive undersea car sized cables filled with a few arms thick of hair thin fibre optics which is cheapest clear resin enamels plastics about $3 not sure if USD per kilometer and resembles modern glass/glazing. How does anybody steal that stuff without people noticing like you cant just load it onto a truck and drive away? or a boat? if only satellites and some sort of defense organization existed to prevent us from being impersonated or whatever.. So now in australia ANYTHING with words like gigabit costs a fortune for a mainboard or switch or ethernet hub.. but the ancient 1900s 10/100 telephone land line wires of ethernet 10/100 clock in at a whopping 13 or so mhz sometimes 27.. and 60 or more mhz for like gigabits and whatever it increases shockingly fast with each mhz clock cycle as its units of work over time in nano seconds or zeptoseconds you see billionths of a second nano second RAM and PC with windows realtime kernel actually uses like ryzen hardware negative latency faster than reality freely syncing with any device in the universe and fixed mhz frequency bus can drive like 50 to 100 or thousands of GPU's and HDDs and monitors or whatever from the one modern multicore PC or whatever.. 90s AMD business server still holds world records for most connected devices though it had stackable CPUs opteron and would have used infinity cache type stuff probably software 3dnow and evolving game worlds tech of 80s and 90s AMD gaming evolved advertising.
So in australia anything gigabits costs hundreds of dollars for a switch router some thousands for lots of ports.. but its the shittiest weakest bandwidth ever with mhz and performance miles short of a raspberry pie or whatever. I had to pay a fortune for a mainboard with 10gigabit LAN port and everytime i got a high speed LAN port its been broken or missing so some pricks can sell ebay routers or switches for thousands here.. not knowing why its so expensive is youre paying fortunes for any real bandwidth because australia has to pay literal somalian pirates for their internet connections or privately owned businesses like telstra for access to their private links and glares at countries like new zealand and hawaii for being super technologically superior.. a cheap USB ethernet adaptor costs under 10 bucks on ebay or whatever and is maybe gigabit and your switches and routers 90% of the time you want the cheapest UNMANAGED switch possible. Yet the mainboard i recently purchased ASUS pro art creator x670E i recall had an issue with some asshats trying to steal pathetic measly 40gigabit USB4 chips from all the boards at the computer store to sell on EBay as other junk, when anything in the universe with an M.2 ULTRA slot does 40gigabits since PCI express 3.0/4.0 as PCI express 3.0 SSD drives famously use a specific I/O controller chip which gives them 38gigabits of the ultra M.2 slots 40gigabits of bandwidth. But for a couple years when AMD had pci express 4.0 and better than M.2 ultra intel was playing catch up on PCI express 3.0 and still had regular m.2 in all their boards until AMD was ready for pci express 5.0 my friend on intel bought the same NVME drives and complained they had corruption errors or issues i later learned his board wasnt fast enough and he was maybe trying to use the samsung magician RAM disk and enable NVME features and functions intel maybe did not yet support.

also before you complain, but ethernets not the same as USB you cant power over ethernet or use your houses electrical wires as ethernet. You also cant use ethernet for monitors or displays, and its not like you can extend HDMI range limit of a about 10 to 15 meters by swapping its ethernet wires with optical ones for it to maintain its HDMI 0 latency spec or type C USB 0 latency spec. USB lets you connect heaps of devices you cant do that with an internet or ethernet for things like keyboard and mice or monitors or whatever. I understand what you mean power over ethernet or PPOE standards suck theres no way those are a thing. using devices over the internet and not the intranet who does that? thats so dumb. remote administration, theres no such thing youre mistaking malware or rootkits im sure. you cant connect a heap of devices up or entire computers to a ethernet port thats the dumbest gayest thing i've ever heard in my entire life! when trying to use anything ethernet with lame awful bandwidth thats limited, on my AMD board where the website images show AMD ethernet lists as marvel yukon controller i cannot use as its maybe broken there no light on the back, in devices managers advanced tab you can see the send receive or transmit buffer sizes and countless other ethernet settings are MISSING or a blank space. and are limited to 128 on send and 256 on receive up to 4096 or whatever max. But low latency 128 or 256 is maybe best but not all are an option and most networking features on the intel LAN adapters are missing countless advanced ethernet properties and settings because they're fake and lousy and the worst latency ever and they literally seem to swap your windows kernel out with something not realtime so you cannot ever hope to record or playback audio or video or anything close to a video game in hopes of slowly selling it back to you. It was fun so here's the long follow up. That bad advice that random older dudes kept giving me was the least worrying thing in those three hours of analyzing that church's security measures. I hit up a friend of mine that has a whole lot more security-specific training than I do just to see if I was overthinking things. Bro has taught me a lot, and I still try to make the trip once or twice a year to train with him. Between emails and a phone call I think I did a pretty good job of compiling our conversation. Most of the convo is also here but I'm not a shameless self-promoter on Tuesdays.
This isn't so much about martial arts or fighting or self-defense, but it probably is helpful and good discussion because a lot of you would hopefully give a crap about these same issues.
DC (Me): When I arrived I drove around the building and no one was posted at any of the 3 front entrances, at least not outside and visible. There was always someone at either of the 2 back entrances and the 1 north end entrance.
TF (The Friend): If someone is truly invested in safety they would have all doors covered, including the main entrance(s). Now maybe their thinking is the main entrance is where people come and go and it might be “uncomfortable” for visitors however we are talking about KEEPING PEOPLE ALIVE. To me that is worth the slight discomfort. And one way they could accomplish it without having to make it an uncomfortable experience is put “greeters” at the main entrance dressed in their Sunday best but they are actually part of the security response team. Those greeters need training in profiling, body language, situational awareness and of course the surface level expected things (firearm, hand to hand, situation specific training such as an active threat). Also does this place have security cameras? Security cameras need to monitor the entire property. And keep in mind people stake out places, plant things at places, etc during off hours. Cameras are a must. Want to make some money? Offer to install a system for them. I’ll help you.
DC: There was no mention to me of where first aid kits and AEDs are located in the building. I know where one AED is on the lower floor but it’s a 4-story building. Considering that I was outside the most heavily-traveled door, it would seem prudent for me to know where those are if I see someone get hit by a car or grab their chest and fall down.
TF: An emergency doesn’t always mean a violent situation. It could be someone suffering a heart attack, a child getting run over by a car driven by an 80 yr blind church goer or just a simple amputation of a finger because they are making sandwiches in the church kitchen. Every single floor needs to have multiple AEDs and COMPLETE first aid kits (that’s a whole class in itself – how to stock a first aid kit). I say multiples because you want quick easy access to one of those item no matter where you are at in the building. I don’t know how big the place is but even starting just by putting a complete first aid kit and AED at the N and S ends of the building is a good start along with training the congregation on CPR. You don’t need the piece of paper from a class, just get someone who knows how to come teach.
DC: Along the same line, no emergency action plans were provided. What to do if part of the building has to be evacuated for a fire or smoke? In case of severe weather or tornado threats what parts of the building should be evacuated and what are the safest areas to move people to until the danger passes? They might have these plans somewhere, but what’s the point if you don’t share them with the ones who would have to execute them.
TF: This is a mistake. There has to be an evacuation plan to remove as many people as possible from the building should something occur (fire, active threat, etc). If there are tornado shelters obviously that’s the safe spot for that specific situation. Many times the evacuation plan put in place can be used for multiple threats (active threat, fire, chemical spill, etc) because it’s about removing the people AWAY from the danger. And YES you are 1000% right those plans/routes need to be shared with EVERYONE in the congregation. When people do not know what to do or where to go there will be chaos, always. The people in charge might THINK they are going to be the go to person to provide guidance and manage the crowd but I will tell you when shit hits the fan no one is listening to them. People will be stepping on their own just to get out. With that being said, any evacuation plans that are created need to be drilled by the entire congregation. It could be done 10m before church for the next 6 Sundays to make sure EVERYONE knows the plan.
DC: It gets worse. There actually is no active shooter plan in place. Apparently some Lt. with the local police department will be doing an active shooter training in the future. I'll be in attendance with the lowest hopes in the room.
TF: This should be interesting and disappointing. My first question to him would be “What are your qualifications/experience to teach this? Have you experienced it first hand?”. Or is everyone looking at him because of his “label” which really means nothing other than that is his occupation that allows him to pay his electric bill. I have yet to see (other than myself) anyone put on a close to reality active shooter training session. Most people (law enforcement included) do powerpoint presentations. Unfortunately many “experts” teaching how to survive an active shooter situation think 4 hour Powerpoint presentations, statistics and cute acronyms are properly training people to survive one of the worst experiences a person could face. Powerpoint presentations do not save lives… ACTION saves lives! You know that though.
DC: Same with an active stabber, no plans there. Or at least no one could show me a plan.
TF: Same as the active shooter.
DC: Here's one you'll love. In the event of a person being violent, the directions I was given were to stay away, make a call over the radio, and let someone else come deal with it. They're also bringing in another security consultant (a former Navy SEAL, just like those three guys who all claim they killed bin Laden) to do de-escalation training at some point. I'm skipping that shit.
TF: I’ve always said if you can remove yourself from a situation that is the best way to increase your odds of staying alive. HOWEVER – there are some situations where immediate action is needed NOW! Especially if you are responsible for the safety of others the goal is to not only eliminate the threat but also minimize damage (limit the casualties). The other night we worked full blown knife attacks. I asked someone to demo with me. I slaughtered him with 20+ stabs/slashes in about 5 seconds and that was before he hit the ground and I mounted and continued. My point – the longer an event goes on the more damage innocents will experience. If you have time to go make a phone call then you have time to take effective action that works towards eliminating the threat and minimizing damage. Their suggestion to call someone else is so typical of people who have no concept of how violence really works (let someone else handle your problem…lol). No one cares for your life more than you do. It’s your responsibility. And regardless of what someone’s propaganda says about their label it still takes time to make a phone call, it takes time for someone to arrive and even when they arrive there is no guarantee they will even engage the threat. The overall goal for ALL VIOLENT ENCOUNTERS is to make the even AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE. The longer a violent event continues the odds of you leaving lessen and the odds increased causalities goes through the roof.
Poster's note: When he and I say we're going to train someone in knife attacks rather than knife defenses. The partner (the attacker) is going to be training on how to freaking stab you just as hard as you're training to resist being stabbed.. Rubber knife, protective gear and 100% stabbing vs 100% resistance, for advanced students, is a fun time. If you're wearing the pads you're going to get your ass kicked. He wasn't actually training his class how to go on stabbing sprees.
DC: This was one that’s not even related to fight skills or ability to engage a threat. There was not even a quick introductory rant on recognizing suspicious people or behavior. The more I talked to other volunteers the more I realized none of them had a clue.
TF: This is touched on in my answer to your first question. People who are determined to execute violent activity do not walk around with signs or flashing lights. It’s not always obvious like in the movies. They blend in and lay low until the moment to take action. These church people have no clue what they are doing. It’s all what I call “surface level thinking” meaning the basic stuff your average person who is inexperienced in the subject thinks of – “Get a police officer officer in our group to teach us something.” Teach you what? How to hand out traffic citations? “We have retired military this or that and retired law enforcement and a former rodeo clown who are packing heat during church.” Ok have they ever dealt with using their weapon when there is mass chaos and people screaming/running everywhere? Bullets only travel in a straight line and do not go around innocents if they are in the way. But just because someone has a firearm doesn’t mean they have the mindset to use it.
DC: You’ll love this one. 5 minutes before the church service let out we were told to call it quits for the day, before everyone in the building started filing out to the parking lot at one time.
TF: Do you mean the response team was training, etc and the church had you guys leave 5 minutes before the congregation got out? That ties exactly into my comment in question #1 about appearance/comfort level. Why hide it? Is there anyone in the church (or the world for that matter) that would disagree the world is getting more violent? Everyone knows it is… they’ve either experienced it or seen/heard news stories so why not put it out there that the church takes the safety and well being of their members SERIOUSLY? I have a saying I came up with once when I was talking to a place about active shooter training and they said it couldn’t be hands ons and they were hoping more for like a speaking engagement because their policy doesn’t allow physical contact. My response – “Until you put people before your policies, your people will continue to die.” And that’s just plain truth. Everyone is so worried about policy/comfort level they are putting that before the actual goal of saving people’s lives. If you are getting ready for a championship basketball game what should you do in practice? Play some damn basketball. Well if you are wanting to learn how to save your life/others in a violent situation what should you practice? VIOLENCE. Why would you do ANYTHING ELSE in practice than what you are preparing for? It’s not logical. I think the congregation would approve and love the idea that “their church cares”.
DC: On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the building’s security measures? Is it fucked, or am I crazy and overthinking it because I am oddly OCD about details sometimes?
TF: I would give them a grade of 2 (at best) out of 10. You are 1000% on point on everything. You have training. You understand violent situations but you’ve been trained by someone and a group that has experienced it and knows how violence REALLY unfolds. The people who are in charge with this “security” policy at your church have ZERO experience and ZERO training. Imagine this - would you want a surgeon who has no education in operation and no experience to attempt to perform a life saving surgery on you? A question I would ask them is - "How SERIOUS are you about saving lives?"

I hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been following this subreddit for a while now and have seen a lot of insightful discussions here. I’m reaching out today because I’ve found myself in a bit of a quandary at work and could really use some advice from those who’ve been in similar situations.
I’ve been with my current employer for about six years now, and during that time, I’ve seen a lot of changes in management and company policy. Overall, it’s been a good place to work, but recently, things have gotten a bit confusing and frustrating.
It all started a few months ago when our department got a new manager, let’s call her Sarah. Sarah is very different from our previous manager, Tom, who was quite laid-back and trusted us to manage our own workloads and leave. Sarah, on the other hand, is very hands-on and seems to want to micromanage everything.
Our team meetings, which used to be quick and to the point, have now turned into long, drawn-out sessions where every little detail is scrutinized. I’ve noticed that Sarah has a tendency to focus on minor issues and can sometimes overlook the bigger picture. For example, she once spent an entire meeting discussing the font size on our reports, which most of us found a bit excessive.

After about a month of working very few hours at my office I started getting sent to another office in one of the most dangerous and poverty-stricken cities in America. What I saw there was extremely depressing but the biggest problem in that office was bad management. It was an absolute nightmare being subjected to that, what I would call, abuse.
Myself and another CCA were sent there everyday for weeks upon weeks, regardless of our relative standing. The other CCA was even being scheduled to do Amazon Sunday there.
Then one day a new manager started there and became very aggressively hostile with me. He got in my face like he wanted to do something. I reported it and said I'd never go back. I was able to secure a hold down in order to keep me out of there. The first day of my hold down the 204b stood behind me and looked at me crazy while I was casing. When I was almost done they told me to leave the office and have another person case.
Seeing how I got myself out of that other office, the other CCA attempted to get a hold down of their own. The PM said they couldn't get a hold down and essentially said that they belonged to the other city's station for now. After a couple weeks and many grievances the union had that CCA released from that other office.
When I'd complain about being sent to another office people would always say "get a hold down" But this shows the level of corruption in preventing people from even getting hold downs.
I completed 2 hold downs and did well. Then I got to my 3rd hold down, considered to be the toughest route in the office to case. My first day the supervisor came over me looking at me crazy and asked if I was going to need help. I basically said I'd be fine accepting help since it seemed that's what they wanted. I believe the 204b might've went to the supervisor and told them that I couldn't do it.
My 2nd day I cased with very little help and got out of the office at a decent time. The third day I was casing and was interrupted by the supervisor telling me that half of my route would be getting pivoted between 6 carriers. I was given a sheet saying what parts would go to what carrier and was told to have all those parts ready to give out before those carriers leave. Those regular carriers of course were casing simpler routes and ready to leave before I would be done separating all of that. Another carrier then came to help me get everything ready in time, while we were getting pressured by the supervisor to take things down out of order. The 204b (who was just a regular carrier that day) commented that the other carrier "might as well do the whole route"
The next day I was taken off casing and only able to carry the route. I was told that apparently the 204b/carrier went to the postmaster and told him that I needed help all 3 days when casing. After a few days of not casing my shop steward went and talked to him to get me back on casing. I was back to casing and getting it done at the same time all the regulars were leaving. It wasn't long before I was out of the office before the carrie204b that was causing me trouble.
My next hold down, that same carrier was right away going to the supervisor trying to cause me trouble and saying I couldn't case. The supervisor thankfully responded "he needs to learn the route" I only knew this because the carrier was ranting like a lunatic and there's no way it wasn't about me. "I told that b*tch but that b*tch doesn't want to listen. They'll find out. She said he needs to learn ."
Again I was casing and leaving the office before them after just 1 day. It was at this point that I realized this carrier has likely been feeding stuff to the supervisors and PM about me for a while in order to make me look bad and get me in trouble. Sadly the PM just listens to anything they tell him.
Now recently there's been no hold downs and I was sent to another office while a CCA below me was not sent out. I told my shop steward that he's sending me out while scheduling lower CCA's at our office and I want to file a grievance. I was told they will talk to the PM but that they won't file a grievance yet.
The amount of contract violations and mistreatment has been absolutely maddening and I've done nothing to deserve it. People are so screwed up and childish.
