Nothing that I would want to be sporting for the rest of my life and the prices are outrageous, more expensive than Manhattan.
I live about 40 minutes from midtown Manhattan but the logistics of having surgery in the city aren’t as easy for my particular circumstance as they would seem or be for others. If I HAVE to go to NYC (open for somewhat affordable options there too) to get a halfway decent tummy tuck, I guess I have no choice, but would really like to stay closer to home in the White Plains/ Harrison/ Purchase/ Rye/ Greenwich/ Stamford/ Darien area.
I would appreciate recommendations (or places to stay away from) from people who have had recent tummy tuck surgery with anyone in the areas I mentioned. Thanks in advance!

I have seen that negative reviews are constantly deleted from different platforms and this is something people should be aware of. This is something I never thought was possible before. There were surgeons I thought were great surgeons before because I couldn't find any negative reviews, then I learned later that people had in fact posted negative reviews that were reported and removed for reasons that doesn't make sense. When people are shopping for surgeries, they will end up with a very different perspective on which surgeons and options are the best. The ones good at marketing and good at having their negative reviews removed will sadly triumph instead of the best options.

Hey guys, looking for advice on how to navigate this..
My Fiancé has booked a breast augmentation surgery with a plastic surgeon in Miami, this surgeon has done her friends boobs and she really likes them. I have searched for the Dr as well as his clinic on this sub and got no results. He supposedly has 6-10 years of experience which is enough for the ABPS certification from my understanding so what gives? The Dr has plenty of before and after of clients but I’m just worried that my Fiancé might of rushed the process. Is it okay that he is only ABS certified or should i try to convince her to hold on this surgery. She is wanting Silicone implants under the muscle. Thank you for any clarification on this!

Hey Breasties - I'm leaning in here to get some support as I'm struggling. Was diagnosed with high grade widespread DCIS 2/5, had UMX on affected left breast (didn't want to wait for plastics to coordinated the surgery months out, so just had cancerous side removed.) Pathology showed dirty margins, so I was able to get back into the surgery queue for 4/29 - resection of left cancer side to get clear margins (which did come back clear), removed right breast prophylactically, put in tissue expanders on both sides.
I suffered through the first 10 days post-op (so much pain, so hard to sleep or be comfortable awake), then developed a ranging infection in the left side which had been resected, so lots of trauma to this breast area.
Went into the ER Friday night of Mother's Day Weekend, was admitted, IV antibiotics to try and rebound from infection - no dice - went into surgery Saturday afternoon to have the expander removed and tissues flushed out. I had to make the decision on the spot whether or not to go totally flat and wait 8-12 in line for diep flap, or keep the right expander and try again. I went with keep the right expander and hope for the best with implants.
So that's three surgeries in 8.5 weeks.
My plastic surgeon explained that I could start doing fills on the right (tomorrow would be the first, my expanders were place flat with no saline because I didn't have room), get right breast where I want it over three months, which is how long I'll have to wait before getting a new left TE, but they could put in my permanent right implant when they place the left expander. Then I'd have lefty filed over...however many weeks to match the right, then a final exchange for implant on the left.
I'm pretty devastated to be lopsided again....and through the summer with swimsuit season and my 25th wedding anniversary (I was hoping we'd perhaps vacation somewhere warm). But now...argh. Just feel so deflated (bc comedy) to be uniboobed again...as long as I have no other infections or issues, this cancer will include 6 surgeries, plus I have a bonus hysterectomy to schedule amidst all the plastic surgeries. If I want nipples, add one more surgery. (that's 8 surgeries)
I'm self-employed - writer, coach, musician - but am not holding it together very well. Trying to coach people when you're falling apart is tough.
I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has made it to the other side through TE infections to a completed chest they like with implants (or did you give up on TE>implants and go with Diep Flap). I'm just now hearing about the 25% failure rate of TE> Implants. Somehow I missed that before going for it.

I know this isn’t a plastic surgery sub but considering how many women in Utah get their boobs done I figured this was a safe bet on getting advice. I really want to get mine done but I’m torn because I don’t know if I should wait until after my last pregnancy or if I’d be good to get them done before. I already have 3 kids and if I got them done I would only be going through one pregnancy/nursing with them being done. Is it worth it? Should I just wait? Does nursing change the look of them too much? I’ve hear some women feel like they look a little more natural after nursing with having them done. Just looking for anyone’s thoughts and opinions who has had them done before getting pregnant and nursing again. Also if anyone has any good doctor recommendations in Utah let me know! Thanks!!

I don't want sexual desires or thoughts, as they are a hindrance and an encumbrance rather than a help. After being blackpilled, I've come to realize, as much as I tried to hide it before, the truth is I hate women and they hate me. The feeling is natural as it is innate. It's an inherent aspect of my being. Ultimately, I consciously hate women. I try my damnedest in real life to avoid women. Whenever I'm on Instagram, I always block any feed with a woman, unless it's something like plastic surgery. I even make sure to steer far away from normie sites. Reddit is normie as fuck, but it's a good therapy place.
My overarching point is that I don't want sexual desires or thoughts. I'm ultimately a narcissist. I care about myself and my looks first. Ultimately, I don't want kids. The whole thing is expensive and ultimately a scam in my opinion.
The issue is my biology. As much as the tossers, the cunts in society act like you can control your sexual desires, they are lying through their fucking teeth.

Unfortunately, as of now, there is no technology that can kill off sexual desire. Now let me answer an age-old question asked, "If you could get rid of sexual desire, where would that lead you?"
Simple, no more frustration by women, they wouldn't even register on your mind. I mean, just like how a female lioness doesn't register in my mind, similarly, a female human wouldn't register in mine. In truth, there is no universal beauty. Beauty is always species-specific, and a giga chad in one species isn't a giga chad in another. With no attraction to women, you're no longer being driven by the chains that genes hurl over you. You can actually focus on life without having to deal with all the bullshit nature hurls upon us.

Growing up as a normal-looking kid before turning ugly in my teenage years and now having to deal with the adult world as an *ugly* woman has completely changed my perspective
Kids wouldn't play with you in the sandbox. That's okay, they're mean anyways. Boys pretending to like you, then mock you for believing them? It's okay, I didn't want a boyfriend anyway. Female friends mocking your looks and things you can't change? It's not like they're wrong, I found it funny too. Being ugly as a child and teen was nothing compared to being ugly as an adult.
Losing job opportunities to prettier, thinner people. Being disrespected at work. Your friend's kids laugh and call you ugly to your face. Being ignored by new acquaintances because you're friend/sister is standing next to you. Women don't want to be friends with you because you don't fit the ideal.
I have to sit and listen to people telling me that there's nothing wrong with me and it's the world's fault for creating such unrealistic standards. But, clearly, every time I go out into the world I am reminded that there IS, in fact, something wrong with me. I have pretty sisters and the way people treat them is nothing compared to how they treat me. I've watched guys swoon over them, men open doors for them, people move out of their way.
I used to believe that I didn't need plastic surgery because I was good the way I was but 6 months into adulthood I'm slowly changing my mind. The amount of dirt I have to shovel through that pretty people don't is exhausting and if money can fix that I don't see a reason not to.

My mother had a bilateral knee replacement done in Oct 2023 in a tier-2 city by Doctor A. Left one done first without any problems and right one done 5 days later with complains of tingling and burning sensation (at the foot) post the surgery. The discharge summary advised bed rest, normal diet and physiotherapy.
Two months later, the problem still persisted along with increased pain. Doctor A advised futher rest, and was told it would take time since she has diabetes and hypertension since 8 years.
With no relief after another month, she developed a small superficial bed sore at the ankle that was treated by doctor B in a different hospital in the same tier-2 city (Doctor A travels frequently and was unavailable most of thr time). Doppler scan indicated dilated veins and no deep or superficial vein thrombosis. Doctor C was instructed by Doctor B to do a pressure dressing every 3-4 days at her residence.
Three months later, the bed sore at the ankle increased to 2-3ins while Doctor C kept adding pressure bandages and peeling any black areas.
Tired of Doctor C, she visited Doctor B again at the hospital and he was shocked at the extent of damage. He did another doppler test and reported that there was no arterial flow in lower tibial artery and calcified plaques in lower limb arteries. Ignoring Doctor D's advice of conducting an angioplasty immediately, he went ahead with debriedment and advised further pressure bandage and bed rest.
After going through all this ordeal alone, my mother now revealed to me (I live in a different country) and our other relatives all of the pain she was going through alone.
I immediately took her to Doctor E in a tier-1 city who diagnosed that she has a gangrene heel and has severe calcification in her lower arteries and one blockage at the knee that was possibly caused/aggravated by the knee replacement surgery. She was at the risk of amputation if we had waited longer. Angioplasty was done immediately requiring 3 balloons and she is on vacuum dressing for the last 3 weeks
She is now heeling at the good care of doctor E requiring high doses of antibiotics and in the near future will need plastic surgery to close the open wound.
I think she is:
Wronged by doctor A for not evaluating her condition properly before conducting the knee replacement
Wronged by Doctor B for ignoring advice by Doctor D (to perform an angioplasty stat) and jumping to clean the wound without addressing the main problem and to make a quick and large amount of money
Wronged by Doctor C by primarily being incompetent and not updating status to Doctor B.
I want to know what legal actions I can take and also want to possibly file a PIL to make sure this kind of malpractice does not happen to anybody.

The elevator ride took a lot longer than I would have liked, my excitement and anticipation making it difficult to stand still. Ada’s room was almost at the top floor of the building — along with those of the other members of my herd — making it take a bit longer to get to than most of the other Humans’ I’ve visited while here.
Seems they are keeping the various tribes in their own groups. The fourth floor has the Germans, French, Polish, and Austrians, with a few Danes and Swedes mixed in. I wonder if they did that to keep the different tribes from fighting with ones they don’t like? Doubtful really, everyone seems to get along well enough, disregarding a couple jabs here and there. Probably just makes geographical sense to put them together.
My pondering was broken with a soft ding of the old elevator doors opening. I stepped out of the elevator quickly and took in my surroundings. There were very few humans milling about the quiet halls as they went about their business. One human with comfy-looking pelts had noticed me step out of the elevator and had frozen where they stood. After a short, yet still uncomfortably awkward moment, I gave a wave with one of my upper appendages and walked down a different hall.
A few moments later, I pulled out my pad to look at the message Sindre sent me.

Stowing the pad, I made my way there. Along the way I encountered several more Humans, each of which having some sort of reaction to my presence. Mostly just freezing in place or casting glances at me as I walked by. Some of them recognized me, either from when we baked together, or when I was in the rec room when the news dropped and gave me a wave in return. There was one case though when a Terran exited their room, saw me, and let out a noise I can only describe as a squeal before diving back into their room.
That last one confused me to no end, as I had never seen that reaction from a human before. I considered knocking on the door before thinking better of it and continuing down the hall to my destination.
How curious… I'll have to ask Ada about that human and why they ran away from me... Heh, prey scaring predators. Not so long ago, such a concept would’ve been seen as the ultimate goal, any real-world examples derided as only that of a dreamer’s fallacy, and yet now… I don’t think I like the idea so much…
I made a mental note to apologize to them if we ever meet again and kept walking, this time with my form hunched and my pace a little faster than before so I could avoid bothering the Terrans as much. It seemed to work, and the humans seemed to look away a little faster than they had previously.
Arriving at Ada’s door, though, I composed myself as best I could, straightening my back and taking a deep breath to calm myself. I knocked on the door a few times, only for it to open a slight amount. Cocking my head in confusion, I listened to the slight groaning of the hinges before I gently pushed it the rest of the way, the door creaking loudly in resistance.
The room smelled of wax and freshly harvested Othll bark, like I had just walked into the home improvement aisle of a store. Walking further inside showed me the source of the smell, which was a set of candles sitting on top of a nightstand in the corner… next to a fire alarm with the battery taken out.
That’s a little concerning… that can’t be safe at least. I should tell her to put it back in when I see her… wherever she is.
Looking around the room some more showed it to be quite unkempt, with pelts and other junk laying strewn haphazardly across the floor. Personal knick-knacks and picture frames sat on shelves and tables around the room, making the places feel a lot more homely than the other rooms I’d been in. A large TV sat on the other side of the room across from the bed, which had been recently used, going by the blanket on the floor and the pillows tossed about. Against the wall next to the bed was a large couch that had clearly seen better paws, the top layer peeling heavily and scattering the little bits of plastic covering everywhere.
Sitting next to the TV appeared to be some sort of Terran gaming console, complete with bright colors plastered across its many faces and with several different wires coming out of it. Far more than there should be, since part of the case it was in had been smashed to fit more cabling into. Tools, used wires, and broken plastic laid scattered next to the patchwork job.
Seems they really did modify it. Makes sense, since I doubt it would normally work on our systems at all… we should really put that fire alarm back in…
Just as I started walking over to inspect it, my lower tentacle caught something soft on one of the suckers. Looking down showed it to be one of the chest pelts Ada had been wearing the paw I met her. Closer inspection showed the whole floor was covered in discarded pelts, including some I had never seen before!
I let out a sigh as I looked around at the mess… I hope she doesn't mind if I cleaned up a bit.
And that's exactly what I did as I waited for my host to return. It did not take long for me to find the garbage can and hamper she used for her used pelts. While I worked though the piles, I took note of the stranger clothes I saw. Most of them were the regular chest pelts that I’d seen every human wear, but others were completely unique or otherwise somehow unusual.
One such example was what I can only describe as some sort of winter gear? It had a very intricate design on the front made of lace and a very soft interior made of a kind of purple fabric. What made it even more strange was that I found several of these scattered around the room, meaning that she was wearing these pretty regularly too!
Hmmm… perhaps it is meant to keep their ears warm? That would explain the strap on the back, as it would be meant to go under their chin. That doesn’t explain why she would be using it though, and to have so many! It must get cold in here when the A/C kicks in, I guess. This place is really old after all.
Either way, they went into the hamper. I left the tools where they were, in case they belonged to different people, but everything else went straight into the trash. The whole process was pretty exhausting, but the room ended up looking much nicer than it had before!
Just as I finished bagging up the garbage can, the door gave a loud creak as Ada stepped in wearing some pretty comfortable-looking pelts similar to the ones she had been wearing a few paws ago, pink prey head slippers and all.
A few {seconds} pass as she starts pulling out clear totes full of what I assume to be her things before I break out of my confusion and flick her a tail wave.
“Hey Ada! Whe-”
“AAAAHHH!!!”
She screamed as she stumbled onto her back, causing me to drop the bag and jump in fright. We stared at each other for a moment before Ada spoke up.
“Nov’?! What the fuck are you doing in here?! You weren't… ya Allah, you scared the crap out of me!”
My arms and tentacles raised up in a pleading gesture after I realized what I did. “S-sorry! I-I thought you would see me! And Sindre said to meet you here? F-for the games?”
Ada took a few more moments to calm down on the floor, but eventually, she stood up and took a few breaths. “You’re fine, squiddie… Sindre didn’t mention how close you were so… oh well, doesn't matter I guess. Uh, what’s in the bag you got there? Also… where are all of my clothes?”
At her observation, I picked up the trash bag and held it up for her to see. “Well… your room was a bit of a mess, a-and you were gone, so I did a bit of… cleaning? Nothing major, just throwing away some trash and putting the pelts in the hamper.”
“Oh, well, thanks Nov. I was gonna get to that befor-” Suddenly she stops herself mid-sentence. Her eyes widen as she casts her forward-facing gaze over to the pelts’ bin.
For some reason, the human's usual light brown features darken considerably with a crimson bloom. Ada turned to look at me, and I gave my best happy expression I could muster to put her at ease. This time, the human's face twisted into an obvious forced snarl before she gave up, running a hand down her face.
“Novel, j-just a heads up for the future, it’s considered rude to go through someone's room and touch their… pelts without permission. They are, um, quite personal belongings, and we don’t let other people touch certain ones. Fuck, uh, don’t tell the other two about this either. It would be, eugh…” Ada’s snarl gets larger as she looks back to the hamper, the crimson still blooming across her face. My tail flicked curiously as I looked between her and the pelt basket.
How peculiar… Hailey seemed just fine with dumping all sorts of pelts on me when she was showing them off. Perhaps that's because she studies it, so in that case it’s seen as okay? Maybe it has more to deal with how I came in here without her supervision? Predators are known to be territorial in the wild, and the Humans seem to be that way as well with their many borders. Letting someone into your ‘territory’ must be a pretty personal thing in the first place. Which would mean that she must be upset that I just walked in here and started messing with things! Speh!
A tentacle reached out, or up I suppose, to Ada’s shoulder while my tail signaled my sincerest apologies. “I-I am so sorry, Ada. If I knew, I would have never touched anything! Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone! Do you want me to… put it back the way I found it?”
The human seemed to find my appeasement worthy as she let out a quiet laugh. “No, Nov’, you’re just fine. Thanks for cleaning up too, I guess; I was gonna do it myself, but oh well… not something we need to talk about.” She lets out another laugh as she walks over to the modified console and grabs a controller.
Yet, before she could get a word out, there was a sharp knock on the door, followed by it swinging open to reveal the last two members of our herd. Sindre came in first, carrying several different bags filled to the brim with snacks of all varieties. He gave a simple head nod and rushed over to the table by the TV to deposit his haul, dropping a few on the floor in his haste.
Hailey walked in right behind him with a plastic grocery bag over her shoulder filled with many different colored bottles of drink and a tray of small dark-brown squares covered in plastic wrap. Her free hand gave us both a wave while she walked to the table in a much calmer manner, at least when compared to her compatriot.
We both gave our own wave in return while I spoke up. “Hey guys! Welcome! What did you get from the kitchen?”
Hailey set her things down on the table. “Not much. Some dried fruit, chips, cookies, soda, juice, and even some fresh brownies someone made! I assumed they were for the taking since they had a few trays sitting out to cool down, but we didn’t really have time to ask since we kinda rushed up here. Oh, and the kitchen stinks to high hell for some reason. Might have to tell Emmanual about that.”
My head tilted curiously at the information as Ada and Sindre moved the couch over to where I was standing. Once it was in place, I took a seat at the opposite end from Hailey. “Well, I’m glad you got what you wanted! Do you mind if I take one of those, uh, brownies?”
She gave me a hand wave as I reached over and undid the plastic wrap around the treats. They were still quite warm from the kitchen! I took a small bite out of the corner to get a taste of it, only to then gobble up the whole thing in one bite.
This is amazing! It’s like strayu but… richer? With an almost cough medicine aftertaste mixed with that strange spice? Such a strange and yet fascinating combination!
“Such a weird taste… but definitely a good one! Are there any more downstairs?” I asked while covering my mouth as best I could for the sake of manners.
She took one herself and took a small bite. “Yep, at least a couple more trays from what we saw. Though I bet most of those will be gone once word gets around.”
My head nodded solemnly as I picked up another.

Ada walked over to me and flicked the space in between my eyes with her fingers. Her other hand passed me a human game controller before taking a seat right next to me. “Save some for us, ya green goblin! Pretty sure we’re meant to share those!”
The humans let out a soft chuckle while my face warmed in embarrassment. Luckily, they didn’t stay focused on it for long before she pointed to the controller. “So, do you need help with that? It’s not exactly built for you.”
Moving it around in my appendages was more than enough to prove that fact, but I tried to give her a dismissive tail wave while sitting down. “Don’t worry… I should be able to make this work…” I said while using all four of my limbs to hold the piece of plastic. It wasn’t exactly comfortable, but it’ll do the job for now.
“Not the first time I had to do this. There are a lot of different species on Aafa, and some of them have very strange, uh, manipulators… you just have to get used to it.”
There may not have been a lot, or really any other species in my home town, but that college certainly did. Me and Cloyta used to hang out with a few different herds whenever we had the time. That Tilfish remote was an interesting experience to use. Having to use smells to figure out a puzzle in a game like it was normal was really something else.
The TV and console suddenly turned on with a bright flash as Sindre held out a remote towards them both. He used his controller to navigate to a menu on the system to reveal a vast collection of Human games. I grabbed my pad out of my pack to translate some of the games as Sindre scrolled by.
Doom of Kevsar, Helldivers: Super Dating Simulator, Papa’s Pizzeria, Skyrim 2… all these seem fine, I guess. At least not super violent like I thought… A good sign!
Sindre spoke up first as he continued to look through the archive. “Anyway, we were talking the other day about which game to show you first, but we couldn’t agree on what would be the best showcase. So instead of one game voted in from all of us, we are each going to show you a game we think you’ll like best. Sounds good?”
My tail thumped against the back of the couch in acceptance. “Yup! That actually sounds really great! Get to see a wider spectrum of human ‘entertainment!’ Who’s going first?”
“Sindre is…” Hailey speaks up in between bites of her confection, “His system, his pick… still think it’s a dumb fucking game though.” He says as he stops his scrolling and arrives at a very brightly colored preview with several… Humans? Human-like creatures in what look like Dossur vehicles?
He presses a button to select the game as a grin grows on his face. “Hey, Mario Kart Galaxy 3 is a classic! You’re just mad because you’re bad at it.” Sindre turns his head to me while Hailey leans forward. “You’ll love it, I swear. Really shows off the real Humanity we have to hide from you guys.”
“That's for a good reason, you dolt. But it’s your choice…” Hailey said while wiping her hands on a napkin.
I hoped he was right as some cheerful music started playing.

Sindre was right! This is fun!
The upbeat music continues to play as I make another turn around a corner, drifting a little to build up some momentum. The ‘Birdo’ creature in my ‘Kart’ does a little dance as I time it right and get a small speed boost, sending me further down the multi-colored track.
“Hmmhmmmhm, hmhmhmm~.” I tried my best to hum along to the music as I continued with the race.
I never would have thought that a racing game could be interesting. Cloyta and I played a few when we were much younger, but they seemed slow in comparison. Usually had a goal at the end as well, like delivering some fruits to a market, or maybe trading on spacefaring merchant vessels in the more complex ones.
It was super fun though! Competing against each other felt a little off, but I wrote it off as a Human cultural thing. A way of bonding, as with most things for them it seems. Other than that, I found the racing to be a lot of fun! There was so much going on, and yet it somehow managed to really keep you aware of everything going on at all times.
A projectile here, a fruit peel trap there, there was so much to think about that I almost forgot to pay attention to the humans! Which, if I weren’t here to study them, might have been a good thing. There were times the competitive nature of the game seemed to draw something else out of them, something I hadn’t expected.
It was… well…
“If I run into one more fucking banana, I will kick you down a flight of stairs and jump on your head from the top step!”
“How the hell did that hit ME!? Broken fucking hitboxes in this shitty ass game!”

My enjoyment of the game seemed to be pretty one-sided unfortunately. Even by the already high standards of the Humans’ previous banter, this was truly something else. While I was still learning the game and slowly climbed up the leaderboard, the Humans all led the herd by taking the top 3 spots every time. They were so close together in some of the races that it was nearly impossible to tell who would win until the last moment, making their yelling even more vicious and bloodthirsty.
There were times I thought they were about to get physically violent with each other once it got to the final lap, but thankfully, it never came to that, aside from maybe some light pushing. Their… banter? Fighting? Uh… verbal abuse towards each other made learning the game a lot harder too since every time I tried to ask a question, my voice would get drowned out in all the yelling. They did show me the basic controls before we started, but it’s a little hard to ask for pointers when your coaches are threatening severe bodily harm against each other.
As I drifted around another sharp turn, my mind wandered back to what Sindre said when we’d first started:
‘Really shows off the real Humanity we have to hide from you guys.’
Was this supposed to be the ‘real Humanity’? I sure hope not… I think I’d prefer if they actually came to blows instead of continuing this barrage of foulness they are constantly spewing. They don’t even seem to be enjoying it! They have to be doing it for a reason… right?
I continued to think as I continued down the track and finished my second lap. The argument was starting to build up again as the stakes started to rise.
“Oh, yeah, of course you get a red shell in 2nd and I get fucking bananas in 3RD! Gotta love this piece of shit game!!” Hailey shouted, leaning forward like she was about to pounce on the TV.
“Not my fault you can’t aim for shit, dumbass! Just throw better!” Sindre quipped back.
“How about I throw you out a five story window?! I mean, I would if your fatass wouldn't snap the floorboards if I tried!” Ada finished it as he gave her an aggressive shove with his shoulder.
Yet, unlike how I expected, she didn’t push back. That's what makes this all so confusing! Each time they antagonize each other, the other person does it back, and they just stop! Their words sound like they mean it to hurt, and their actions reflect that… but they aren’t acting on it.
Hmm… the ‘real Humanity’, huh… Maybe I’m approaching this the wrong way? Something less about who the Humans are, so to speak, but more how they feel? They’ve been awfully emotional in every interaction I’ve ever had with them… Aggressive, too, admittedly. Maybe… maybe this is a way for them to vent some of that aggression safely? Around people they really trust with a game you can complain about, but demands too much attention to leave them to do more than yell at each other? Things have been rather… stressful, lately.
My tail thumped a few more times against the dilapidated couch, sending a few more puffs of stuffing into the air. The theory kind of lined up with what I knew, but I was here with the primary source for a reason, after all. I would just ask them, but…
“I am going to FUCKING DEEPFRY THAT FUCKING MUSHROOM {Ass Violin}!!!”
They were busy.
They seem pretty angry… but if it helps them deal with their stress, then I am just fine with it. I’m glad they are getting through it in their own… ‘special’ Human way.
In any case, it was still better than damming it all up until it overflowed and someone really got hurt. Safe in the knowledge that the Humans (probably) wouldn’t actually attack each other, I just resolved to focus on the game instead. The third and final lap was coming around, and things were starting to ramp up even further. The Humans’ false violence got even louder, and coupled with the occasional and really rather distracting limb shooting out and the rapidly intensifying music, my poor heart was not in the best condition as our racers closed in on the finish line.
But then, all of a sudden, something very strange happened. The Humans simultaneously began to curse louder than ever before, screaming and wailing as an odd blue indicator flashed along the top of the screen, indicating some kind of blue spiky ball rapidly approaching us from behind. All three of them illogically slammed on the brakes, clearly trying to dodge the oncoming projectile, but it was to no avail. The ball flew right past my ‘Kart’ and struck the center of the tightly crowded humans, unleashing an explosion of blue fire that stunned all three.
Allowing my Kart, driving at maximum speed in hopes of any shot at outrunning the projectile, to shoot right past them and cross the finish line first.
Wait… what?
A brief silence hung in the air at what just happened until my arms went up in the air
“Hey, look! I won! Hehehe! I didn’t know I would get so lucky on my first try! Is that sort of thing… common…?”
I stopped my celebration as all the Humans were giving me very intense looks with their stares. They lacked the familiar friendliness most Humans looked at me with, but instead seemed much… angrier.
Speh, right. They are still mad from before, and now I just beat them at their own race… O-okay, they don’t mean it, they are upset and need to let it out. Just have to get through it.
Seeing what was about to happen, I curled in on myself and braced myself for the barrage of verbal slurry coming my way. A moment passed as I waited for the insults to fly but… they never came? Opening an eye revealed the Human’s expressions had changed from fury to…
Amusement?
“You alright there Nov’? You’re shaking pretty bad… Was that too much?” Ada asked in a quiet voice while patting me on the back roughly. It took a moment for my brain to catch up before I could speak again.
“O-oh, uh, sorry, I thought you all were going to… yell at me? Like you did with each other?” My voice was a little shaky as I unfurled myself.
All of the Germans seemed to wince a little at that. “Yeah… fuck, sorry about that. Mario Kart is a pretty rage-inducing game. Shoulda thought about that beforehand.”
My tail attempted to signal calm while trapped behind me. “N-no, it’s fine… I did learn a lot actually. It was fun too, besides the yelling part. Um, can we move on though? I think I’ve got enough out of this one.”
Sindre exits the game with a nod while the others let out deep sighs. “Yeah, sorry Nov’. It’s one of the most popular party games Humanity ever made, so I figured it would be a good one to show you. Next is… Ada’s pick… we sure we should do this one?”
The woman turned her head to look at Sindre. “Positive. They have a vegan option in the settings, so it’s not going to get us arrested or anything. Plus, it's a cooperative party game! Feds seem to love that whole ‘herd’ thing, and Nov’ liked the last one so I’m sure it’ll be fine!”
She gave a dismissive hand wave before turning back to me. “It’ll be fine, really. I played this game as a kid all the time, no need to panic, right?” She seemed a little worried at the end of that sentence, so I tried to put on a brave face.
“S-sounds great! What’s it about?” I mentally chastised myself for my stutter and reached towards the table to grab another pastry. “Ahem. There’s nothing predatory in it, right?”
She grabs one herself and a glass of an orange fizzy drink. “Nope, none at all! Just some harmless cooking with your friends! You’ll love it!” Her enthusiasm helped me calm down as the game started booting up on screen.

You know… I think I get it.
A soft relaxing track played in the background as the four little chefs on screen ran around doing various tasks needed to keep the kitchen functioning, like preparing vegetables, or washing dishes. A timer at the top of the screen was slowly counting down while a little ‘onion’ next to it with a Human face rambled on about something or other.
Orders start coming in quick, and all of us get to work in a flash… or at least, all of us SHOULD be.
“Can you three stop licking the dust clouds in the vents and actually do something to help me, PLEASE?!”
A trio of Human giggles was my only response as I leaned forward in concentration.
This game. This brahking game. They should use this for testing for intelligence like those quizzes we took back home, since clearly some people go brain dead trying to do literally anything that isn’t getting in my stars-damned way, or otherwise waste valuable time by huffing the gas coming off the stove!
Finishing up one order of seaweed wraps and lettuce salad, I tried to get back to the kitchen, but was immediately blocked by… a plate on the floor.
“WHO-!! Why is there a plate on the floor?! The counter is literally right there! It’s such a simple job to-” A ding rings out, showing several new orders that needed to be filled. The timer started flashing red as we reached the one ‘minute’ mark.
A deep, frustrated growl builds in my throat, causing my Humans to laugh for some reason, incensing me even further! We all get to work in completing the last orders, however. Things were going well as the Terrans seemed to (finally) get it together to actually make some good food. Sindre had just finished cooking the rice while Ada chopped the carrots. Me and Hailey were putting everything together on the other side and sending it through until—
“Is, oh my stars, did you guys really send over raw rice?! It’s not even partially cooked!! Are you all a bunch of mountain dwellers? Do you eat your dry grass with a side of brahking pebbles and pond scum?! Cook it again!” I threw the rice back, hitting Sindre in the back of the head with the pile of rice, causing his character to fall over with a cartoonish thunk sound effect.
The Germans laughed loudly at the scene, which made my face heat up in frustration. The timer was running short as we waited for the rice to actually be cooked this time.
“Nov’, I, haha, I’m sorry. I’ll get it done this time, have mercy! I thought the last one was done so I-”
My head turned just enough for my eye to be focused solely on the pale Human. “IT WAS BRAHKING RAW!! There's a bar at the top that tells you! Do you need eye surgery?? Can you even pass a driving test??”
More laughter.
“AND STOP LAUGHING AT ME!! IT’S NOT FUNNY!!”
A ding came from the pot to signify it was done. Ada immediately took it out and walked over to the counter to pass it.
“Perfect, now just- what are you doing?”
She wasn’t passing it over. Instead, she was charging up her throw way more than she needed to. I was just about to say something as the clock flashed brightly ‘till she threw the rice at full force.
Directly at my little chef. The rice beamed directly off the side of my character's head, sending me flying away from the plate and sprawled across the kitchen floor as the rice landed gently on the ground.
“ADA!!!!!”
The countdown is drowned out by the humans erupting into laughter as I desperately try and recover. Yet, just as I make it to my feet, the countdown reaches zero, and the mission ends. Defeat fills my chest while the onion man does a little dance to tally up our points.

It’s over…
I slumped against the back of the couch, fury and betrayal stirring in my chest while the predators laughed to each other for several moments. Their raucous, howling laughter eventually started dying down, at least enough for them to actually say something to me.
“Nov’, come on. It’s just a game. I’m, hehehe, I’m sorry okay? We were just having a little fun is all.” She ran her treacherous hands down my back in an effort to calm me, to little effect.
“Dumb game. Stupid… start the next mission…”
She chuckled a bit. “Maybe we should play a different game. You don’t seem real happy playing this one.”
That made my tail flick in light amusement though the frustration. “Now you sound like my Dad…” My anger at the game started to fade more and more, replaced with a growing sensation of guilt. ”I-I think that’s a good idea. Um, sorry about that.”
She removed her hand, but kept her eyes on me and the gooey trail now stringing from her hand. “Eugh… hey, you’re fine. If you can deal with us screaming at each other, then we can handle your little squeaks.”
The other two smiled and nodded in agreement while I looked at her in confusion, feeling a little offended. “My… squeaks? But, um, thank you... W-what's the next game? Hailey’s turn, right?”
On cue, she brushes her mane to the side and starts scrolling down. “Yes, actually! Unlike these two walnuts, I actually picked a relaxing game. A classic. An art piece~” Her hands did a slight flair, yet I remained unmoved.
“Hailey, that's what the other two said too. While those games were… fine, I wouldn’t call them ‘masterpieces.’ Are you sure about this one?” I asked while grabbing another brownie.
I keep eating these things, but I just feel more and more hungry… weird…
The Humans chucked as she selected her game. “Hey, have a little faith in me. I haven't met a Human alive that can say this game is bad. Just watch!”
A flash came from the TV as the game's title came into view.

“We’ll use one of the worlds we were playing on back on Earth so you can get an idea of what it’s really like. And, uh, make sure it's peaceful too, just in case.”
I took a bite of the treat and settled into my spot, preparing myself for whatever was to come.

She really destroyed me out of the blue with it too. She told me a crazy story that would keep me waiting indefinitely and even had me looking for her for a while as if something happened to her. She contacted me and told me she thought about me everyday since and prayed about me and there hasn't been a day she didn't regret what she did.
I told her if she regretted it why did she wait five years to contact me? What changed? Did she just get too old and noticed all the doors that were open to her are now closed? She sent me a short video and she has had so much plastic surgery done I'm not sure if she is messing with me using a filter or not. Because she was beautiful and now she looks like a clown. If that is really how she looks now it makes me mad and sad for her.
I don't want to be vain, but if she really looks like that, I find that repulsive. Considering the fact that she had to ghost me and went around people that made her that insecure and encouraged her to do that to herself. It's like they actually hated her. Her face reflects what her actions did to us both. Am I wrong for rejecting her?
It sucks because I still love her but what she did to me was so heartless and selfish. She even admitted to me that all the blame shifting she did before hand wasn't true. Although I actually don't believe her on that and I have a good reason not to. Which brings me to my second moral dilemma of this situation. The people that talked her out of her life with me, which she had chosen and committed to when she could have had anybody. They exploited her and made a whole bunch of money off her. She made some money, but she has no idea how much money they made. Far more than she did. If it was an "opportunity" that she couldn't miss out on and I was never going to be ok with it. Why did they go so far out of their way to get me out of the picture before they ever mentioned it to her?
They had known her far longer than I had. Maybe because they didn't know if I would have been ok with it, But that I wouldn't have let her get taken advantage of like she did. To put it in perspective, just the take home off her subscription fees multiplied times her subscribers was 60k a month. But I subscribed, and the account was a scam. The pictures were her head photo shopped on another body, the videos were the same thing. Trust me, if anyone would know it would be me. That's clever on her part but also revealing. They were using her followers, managing the account for her entirely, actually they took over all her social media to funnel people to it. But she was in on it, Getting a cut.
This is the thing that really pisses me off. In order to actually find porn stars to do the stuff they would photo shop her face onto, the needed to look like her body. But she wasn't fake. So she got fake so it would match up to the girls that they had to make the videos. She changed herself to look like something she used to make fun of. I know she didn't want to, because she already had the fake breasts removed. But what they did to her face was inexcusable. I don't believe it, unless I see her in person I won't. Is there are filter that makes someone look like they had way way to much surgery and lip filler? Was she just trolling me?
I still don't think she expected me to tell her not so politely that she was ugly and that her face reflected her betrayal every time I looked at her now. I don't know if I should still blame them for promising her to be rich and famous and luring her away and forgiving her now that they've thrown her in the garbage like everyone else they do that to. Or if I should let her accept responsibility for it all, and if I do should I forgive her. I honestly don't even know what she was expecting of me. I did know that eventually she would hit the wall with that path and that when she did she would come back I knew it was a scam, but I think she knew it too and went along with it anyways. Which makes me so frustrated with her. I wish she had never done any of it, but she did.
So I feel like I need to stick to my guns, even though I wished she'd come back and do this for years. I just wished she hadn't messed herself up in the process. But you also need to understand if she had been disfigured in a car wreck I would have taken care of her for the rest of her life without question. She had to block me out of her life to do this to herself becauise I never ever would have let her go through with it. She wouldn't have even been insecure if I was around. She wouldn't have been thinking she needed to improve anything about her looks, Which she didn't, which is what makes this so confusing and tragic. Knowing how beautiful she was and what they did to her makes me so angry and sad for her. also if she looks like that it makes sense why she'd come crawling back now. Which is like a.... damn.... what the fuck... moment.
At the end of the day I know that she was with me and she was ok with the life she picked and built. I know that these guys make their living off getting girls to second guess those things and start dreaming that they are missing out on opportunities. They know just how to subtly implant that idea in their head then just wait. While the girls life implodes because she's thinking she could be rich with a celebrity instead of her average life. Before anyone could explain the situation to me, the large glass windows told me all I needed.
"My God...," my face went pale. I tried to keep composure, but... well this was the largest, blackest storm I had ever seen.
"No scanners picked it up, Sir," Ben explained rapidly, "Its still completely invisible to any radars."
"Must have something to due with the radiation levels, somehow. Its clear enough over here, we should be able to read something, anything!"
"Sir, what should we do?" the room fell silent as the handful of operators stared up at me. I pinched at the hairs above my lip and stood in thought.
If we sail around it, we would lose time and possibly our location. The only reason we are so confident in where we are is due to how rigid our course has been. No one has sailed these waters in centuries, if we get lost out here, we could be lost to history.
Sailing through it, we could lose the ship. She is built for all kinds of storms, but this one would surely test Europian craftsmanship. Once we are in the storm, there is no turning back; going in circles when youre lost is the best way to stay lost.
Ben advised we try and go around, but I think he may doubt his own skill. Ben and I step into the hallway and have Ennay call for Max.
It took about 15 minutes, but the three of us has discussed and debates into a unanimous decision.

"The cooks outdid themselves with this one!", a common phrase Id hear walking through the cafeteria during breakfast hour. I had never been one for breakfast, eating in the morning just made me feel tired. Regardless, I loved venturing into the cafeteria because it was nice to hear the rumbling of conversations and to meet new people.
I had met my crew when they boarded the ship in the days before we set sail, but introducing myself personally to our group of 49 civilians was keeping me busy. The navigation team tells me we have three days before we reach the shores of...
"Whats the name of it?"
Senior Navi Ran Katz chuckled and dragged his finger under the word on his map, "My-am-ee. Its an old American ruin."
He pinched the mapscreen and My-am-ee began to shrink until the majority of the space was covered in ocean and the destination was a speck in the bottom left.
"But we havent had satellite pictures of this entire area for centuries. With rising seas, who knows if Miami is going to be our landing spot or just a reef we pass over?" He was right. The mess of radioactivity in the atmosphere had completely covered the land ahead in mystery, "Come lunchtime, though, we will pass West 50 mark."
It was a lot to take in. No one had been past the 50 latitude mark since 2024. I dont even think my 20-times-great grandfather was born yet. Man, I really have to finish up that speech by noon. Every great person in history has their speech:

As I sat in the cafeteria trying to figure out the best way to end my speech, Maxton snapped me out of it.

I have worked with women before on such journeys, that wasnt my issue. Age is experience. She might have a couple dozen years breathing, but Id prefer to team with people with a few dozen years of working.

Unlike most doctors there must be a reason why this one barely has any websites where he allows his patients to share their experience.
No Google reviews, no Realself, no Yelp...
Well, he is not the kindest person and at least to me I felt like he was really dishonest. I scheduled my rhinoplasty with him almost 1 year ago and the whole process was REALLY NEGATIVE, after waiting all this time to talk about my final results I can now say that they're not favorable, I have SO MUCH trouble breathing and my nose has collapsed from one side...this has truly had a bad impact in my life so that's why I decided to share this post.
After talking to many other professionals I believe I was victim of something called "ghost surgery"
Due to his perfectly looking Instagram page and the large amount of marketing I decided to have my surgery with this doctor, initially I paid 150 USD (and unlike what's advertised) there was not really a real consultation, all they ask you to do is sent pictures and in response all you get is a price estimate.
Obviously I found this really sketchy since I wanted to have a proper diagnosis, but his assistant refused saying that all consultations are done one day before to the surgery, so basically you have to commit and pay for the procedure in advance without ever meeting the doctor priorly.
Probably the first red flag, but unfortunately I got carried away by his social media and all these "influencers/models" that promote him and I scheduled surgery regardless...
Consultation
Since you barely have direct contact with the doctor, all the communications you have are just with his staff and oh boy, they are really good at promising and telling you everything you want to hear so that way you proceed and pay for the procedure (BTW I PAID 13,000 USD).
Reality kicked in once I traveled to Colombia, many more irregularities and things that I didn't expect came up, of course at this point I've already invested 7000 USD (everything you pay in NON REFUNDABLE) so I couldn't really say anything or change my mind.
Consultation with Dr. Paez was quick, It was the first and only time I would see him during the whole process and just like every surgeon he persuades you and tells you everything is going to be okay, although I wanted to address my symptoms by bringing different nasal exams he told me it wasn't necessary.
Day of Surgery
Once at the hospital, they make me sign a few waivers, nurses get me ready and take me to my operating room, at this point i'm expecting to see Dr. Paez at any minute but this would never happen, next thing I know, i'm already in a recovery room.
I'm discharged and they sent me home.
After becoming a little suspicious by the high number of people being operated the same day I start doing some research...and to my surprise I find on on social media videos of ANOTHER DOCTOR doing my nose surgery, all while Dr. Paez wasn't even in my operating room.
This other doctor was there as a student and is someone who I NEVER authorized.

I posted the footage and proof of surgery on this website, you can clearly see how they run 2 operating rooms at the same time.
So what was their response?
I already did my research, what happened here is considered really unethical but highly profitable for the surgeons, I was used for some type of medical course and this was never disclosed in my informed consent.
At first when I asked for an explanation his staff downplayed everything, saying things like "this other doctor is part of the team" and "he only performed the first half of your surgery".
I looked into this other doctor and he doesn't have any type of affiliation with Dr. Paez since he works as a plastic surgeon in Brazil.
Besides the fact that I now have so many breathing problems, I feel completely cheated, it is nearly impossible to get in contact with Dr. Paez so I flew back to Colombia just to confront him...and unsurprisingly he refused to watch the footage of my surgery and prefered to stayed silent.
Final thoughts.
Since I have evidence of what im talking about I decided to file a formal complaint to the medical board in that country, although they took my case months ago, judging how things run in Colombia I highly doubt any disciplinary action will be taken.
I want to clarify that I am by no way the only person who has raised complaints about this doctor, If you want some more unbiased opinions I advice to do your research on Twitter.
Lastly, for reference I'll attach the odd documents he makes you sign where you surrender many rights if things go wrong. I'm fully aware that any surgery has risks but I find it extremely unfair how they show you this only after you have paid.

Avoid Instagram at ALL COSTS when choosing a surgeon, there is absolutely ZERO transparency on that website.

I always see some before and after of some girls and no always they do plastic surgery but procedures but they change something that makes them stand out and appear more I want the same but don't know how

First of all, I want to thank the people on this subreddit who offered the information that made me feel like I could go through with this. I’m a longtime lurker (posting from a throw away) but finally got my bisalp earlier this week and I couldn’t be more excited. This was my first experience with surgery/general anesthesia, so I wanted to share my experience in as much detail as possible in hopes that it can help someone else know what to expect. My only regret: not doing it sooner. :)
About my physical health: I’m a 33 year old woman who’s never had kids or even so much as a pregnancy scare. I’m 5’5” and 124 pounds, and I feel privileged that I have no major health issues; I exercise on a daily basis and try to eat healthy when possible; I’ve been a social drinker for the past few years; I use THC and CBD several times a week, but in small doses (like 2-5mg); I’m diagnosed with ADHD and regularly take medication for it, but that’s the only prescription medication I take regularly.
About my desire to not have kids: I’ve known since I was a kid that I never wanted to have any children of my own; being raised by two neglectful parents made me realize how selfless and patient a good parent needs to be, and how I have no desire to be that person. Some of my favorite things about my current life include freedom, good sleep, some disposable income, minimal stress, and not being responsible for anyone else. I’ve also never used any forms of birth control aside from condoms. What galvanized me to take the plunge with permanent birth control was the situation with Roe v. Wade… I’d rather just embrace my childfree lifestyle and ensure it stays the way it is. It’s hard to put into words the relief I feel about not ever being able to have kids… it’s surreal in the best possible way. It’s like I’m still trying to wrap my mind around having finally achieved a dream I’ve been thinking about for years.
About my health insurance: I’ve been on Medicaid for the past 3 years. When I was first approved for Medicaid, I was automatically placed on my city’s plan (Denver Health) and since that was the only option that was covered, I tried to schedule a bisalp there. The nurse practitioner I met with walked me through the details and asked if I’d thought it through and fully understood if it was permanent (I’ve forgotten her name but can try to look it up if anyone’s interested). I said yes. She told me she approved me for the procedure, and that the next step would be to wait for the surgery scheduler to give me a call. The scheduler tried calling me about 6 times over the next two months, all during work hours when I was unable to answer my phone; I was never once able to get through to her even though I tried calling her back 43 times before I gave up.
I applied for the Medicaid option with wider coverage (Colorado Medicaid) the next possible chance I had. I’d researched doctors listed on this sub and had seen that Dr. Dabelea had gotten good reviews AND accepted Medicaid, so I booked a consultation. (again, a big thank you to fellow redditors on this sub for recommending him)
During the appointment, Dr. Dabelea confirmed that my past bisalp approval was still valid, and I appreciated his kindly and gentle tone as he reiterated the details. Everyone in the office was incredibly kind, in fact, and especially Betty, the scheduler (she actually scheduled me for the surgery unlike other clinics–I’m looking at YOU, Denver Health). I told her about my anxiety around medical procedures and she suggested I choose the earliest morning appointment time possible because my surgery would be less likely to be delayed than if I booked an afternoon time slot. As someone who hates waking up early yet hates waiting around anxiously even more, I accepted the earliest time slot–a 7:30am surgery. This meant that I’d need to be at the hospital by 5:30am to check in and get prepped. The first available surgery appointments were about a month out and Betty got me set up with a 2 week follow up as well. She sent me home with a surgery “goody bag” with Ensure to drink 4 hours before the procedure + a bottle of Hibiclens soap to use in the shower the 4 days prior to surgery + chapstick.
What I did to prepare: 1. put reminders in my schedule to start showering with the soap 4 days out. 2. The Ensure went in my fridge because Betty said it was best when chilled. 3. I asked a close friend if she could get me to and from the hospital. 4. I completed the online surgery registration forms about my current prescriptions, health history, etc 5. I immediately started reducing alcohol , THC, and CBD and completely cut them out about a week before my surgery. 6. The weekend before, I deep cleaned my house, did all my laundry, took out the trash, got groceries, and asked friends for recommendations for light TV shows I could binge. 7. The day before, I made a nest on my couch with cozy blankets and a hot water bottle and a mini stockpile of meds (including gas pills and throat lozenges and laxatives). I made a smoothie and stuck it in my fridge for the next day. I laid out my clothes (baggy black cotton maxi dress, cozy sweater, and slip-on shoes) and threw some essentials in a bag just in case I’d need to stay overnight (airpods, chapstick, phone charger, toothbrush/paste, underwear). I double checked the pre-surgery info page, and followed instructions not to eat or drink anything after midnight… 8. …except for the chilled Ensure that I set next to my bed before I set my alarm for 3am and 4:45am. 9. Woke up at 3am and chugged Ensure. 10. Woke up again to shower with the Hibiclens one last time.
My friend got me to the OR admissions office by 5:30am. From there, the warm-voiced receptionist handed me an iPad to fill out a few more details and explained that a nurse would be along shortly to take me upstairs to prep for surgery.
Upstairs, the nurse weighed me then instructed me to go into the bathroom to provide a urine sample: “even just 3 drops is all I need,” she said. (Thankfully she didn’t need much, because I didn’t have much in my system.) Next, in the prep room, she pointed out plastic bags for my clothes and shoes to go into, along with a back-opening gown and grippy sock slipper things. She motioned to the packet of 6 surgery towelettes and told me to use one for each arm and leg, and the front and back of my torso and said she’d leave me to do that and get changed.
Once I had, another nurse came in to go over a few other details. I confirmed that I felt like a big ol baby with my anxiety about the whole thing, and she said it was normal and that she was impressed that it was my first time with general anesthesia. She suggested that she could add a couple friends’ phone numbers to get text alerts about my progress so they could have an idea of when to pick me up.
“Placing the IV is the hardest part,” she said as she answered my questions about its purpose. “This is how we’ll make sure you’re properly hydrated. And this will be how your anesthesiologist administers sedation. They used to use gas, but they rarely do anymore because it tends to cause terrible nausea for women.” She asked if I got carsick easily, and when I said yes, she provided me with an anti nausea patch of scopolamine behind my ear. “If you happen to touch it, just be sure to wash your hands ASAP. If you touch the patch then accidentally touch your eyes, they’ll get really dilated.” She then told me that she’d be getting me a small cocktail of pills to take before the surgery.
IV placed, I gulped down my pill cocktail. The nurse asked if I’d like to use the restroom one last time.
Next, I briefly met the anesthesiologist. He threw me for a loop when he asked about the prescription medications the nurse had just given me–he seemed to think I was regularly prescribed them until I told him they were just for today. (“Please don’t mess up my anesthesia,” I thought.) He asked about my habits with alcohol, and how often I used THC. He clarified that regular users of high THC doses tended to need more anesthesia to knock them out.
When Dr. Dabelea came in and greeted me with a handshake and asked if I had any questions, I asked him if it’d be possible for me to take my tubes home with me. I felt like a weirdo for asking but he seemed to take my request seriously. “The usual procedure is to send the tissue to the Pathology Department to confirm that the tissue is, indeed, the Fallopian tubes,” he said. “It’s very rare that it isn’t, but we do this to make absolutely sure that the patient is sterilized.” Fine by me–I’d rather be totally sure than have some weird shit to put on my mantle. I also asked him if he’d been seeing an uptick in bisalps. “Yes,” he said, “before the Roe v. Wade situation, I did 1-2 bisalps a year for women under 30. Since the decision, I’ve been doing 1-2 per month.”
One of the nurses popped back in to put my phone away in a locker with the rest of my stuff. As she was doing that, I met the final member on my surgery team, my OR nurse, and immediately liked her warmth and the competence she radiated. I told her how silly I felt for being so nervous. As she wheeled me back to the OR, she told me I’d be in good hands, and that in a few minutes I’d get to drift off to sleep like I was on a tropical beach vacation. The compression pads around my calves, she said, would start inflating and would feel like I was getting a massage.
She helped me shift onto the OR bed, then the anesthesiologist was placing a mask over my face and instructing me to breathe deeply, and the next thing I knew I was waking up in a curtained section of PACU. A new nurse was asking me what year it was and I told her. (“It is 2024, right?”) Then I asked her what time it was. The surgery had gone quickly–it was 8:30. The nurse asked if I needed to pee, I said yes, and she brought a bedpan. Apparently they’d used a catheter on me, so the slight soreness around that plus the bloated sesnation in my belly made me feel like I had to pee more than I did. The nurse brought me water, applesauce, and graham crackers before she walked me through post-op instructions that included things like: avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours; drink plenty of water; avoid spicy/greasy/fried foods at first; avoid lifting anything over 20 pounds for the first couple weeks; take the least amount of your prescription narcotic as possible.
She went to pick up my prescription of pain pills from the hospital pharmacy (very convenient; I’d called the office the week prior to see if I could arrange to pick up my pills before the surgery, but the receptionist had let me know that the hospital’s pharmacy would get them to me).
At around 9:30, I was ready to start getting dressed. I texted my friend that I’d be ready to go soon, and before I knew it, I was in her car on the way home.
I could not be more GRATEFUL to have gotten this surgery. I feel blessed to have experienced minimal pain: I feel aware of the bloating and incisions, but not in a painful way. If anything, my stomach feels the way it would the day after a big ab workout. I was prescribed a weeks’ worth of pain pills (2 per day) but luckily this post-op discomfort doesn’t come close to the sharp pain of my monthly period cramps.
While researching this surgery, several people had mentioned the risk of constipation from dehydration and pain pills, so I took a laxative in the evening of day 2 (about 36 hours after surgery) and ate a meal with lots of beans.
Stuff I’d recommend: 1. Make sure that your pickup person has a wide-ish window to pick you up, just in case it takes you a while to come out of anesthesia. 2. If you like CBD, have plenty of it on hand for after the surgery. (Please take this with a grain of salt: there can be interactions between pain medicine and CBD.) 3. Wear the absolute baggiest clothes you own. The dress I wore was essentially a giant bag. 4. The day before your surgery, drink some electrolytes and try to get as hydrated as possible. 5. Although waking up before dawn isn’t ideal, I loved knowing that I wouldn’t have to deal with potentially anxiety-inducing delays the way I might if I had a surgery scheduled later in the day. 6. Do as many little chores around the house as possible so you don’t have to worry about taking out the recycling, for example.
I’d read about how terrible it was to have your period start soon after this surgery, but I couldn’t change the fact that mine was due to start 3 days after. Thankfully the cramps weren’t extra painful. The only difference I’ve noticed is that I’ve definitely bled a bit more than usual.
TL;DR: I had a smooth bisalp experience and highly recommend the procedure if you’re considering it.

Hey all,
Almost a year ago I slashed my forehead open--a two inch horizontal gash right along the hairline. I got it glued shut in the ER. Ever since the event I've struggled with severe headaches and neck pain, literally without remission, of a form I had never felt before. It is especially noticeable whenever I am sitting at my computer, doing my work (which I love btw). The pain levels and difficulty with staying focused is driving me absolutely crazy. I have an ENT, a Neuorologist, a Chiropracter and a PT doctor trying to assist me, but nothing has changed with my condition and it is now been almost a year. Does anyone have any hypothesis as to why my neck and forehead would be in such an intensely irritated state from such an laceration? No concussion was registered, and the MRI scans of the neck and head indicate no damage to the brain itself. The only noticeable issue on the brain scan was severely opacified ethmoid sinuses. For the neck, the spine on the left side has some mild forms of generation but nothing severe. I have scar tissue that has built up along the left side of my cervical spine, and pretty poor posture my chiro and pt are trying to rectify, but again, nothing prior to the event compares to this utterly insane combination of forehead and neck pain that just will not go away. I did not have a history of headaches, though migraines run on my mothers side of the family. Its so unrelenting I've had to seek help about my mental state. It has completely eroded my ability to enjoy the work I used to enjoy, the life I used to live, and it has started to destroy my relationship with my long term girlfriend. The only other thing of note is my ENT has recommended sinus surgery for the ethmoid opacification, which I am holding off on for another couple months until I've tried some things with a new allergist. HAS ANYONE in the medical field ever dealt with a patient with similar issues? I am in a very well regarded medical network, but no one who is taking care of me has ever had a patient with a similar injury and resultant chronic pain manifestation. I've asked for a second opinion multiple times (scar adhesions, severed nerve, csf leak), because none of the doctors I am working with have prior experience with people in my situation, but my neuro does not think I need to go see another specialist. She doesn't even think the scar or potential nerve damage there is severe enough to the be the primary cause of the migraines, which to be honest has become a severe sticking point for me (the migraine always starts there and in the neck????). Her speculation is that I have developed a chronic migraine from nerve shock during the incident, but the current treatment plan--nortrityline and nurtec has done little to nothing to alleviate symptoms. Right now sitting at my desk, the pain in the scar area is intense. There is severe neck pain as well, along with a bizarre radiating numbing sensation in the nerve area. Neck pain is at a 7, head pain is at a 6. Before I sat down to work on the project the pain was manageable. The moment I started to interact with the computer screen and focus, all the symptoms that started on that day manifested again with a ferocious intensity. This has become my life for the better part of a year, and I feel like I'm losing my mind.
Please, if any patient, nurse, or doctor has dealt with a similar case, Im desperate on some insight---alternative treatment plans, harsh realities, etc. I'm literally going to see a plastic surgeon tomorrow to see if they have any insights based on former experiences with scar revisions, and I don't even plan on a scar revision to begin with. I'm just desperate to find someone who can actually help me with quantifiable real world experiences, and he seems to have helped patients with lacerations in the past.
