As if that wasn't enough, EF Hutton also faced financial difficulties as a result of the 1987 stock market crash. The firm's profitability took a hit, and it struggled to recover from the losses. In an effort to stay afloat, EF Hutton began exploring potential mergers and acquisitions, but none of these efforts proved successful.
In 1987, EF Hutton was acquired by Shearson Lehman Brothers, marking the end of an era for the once-mighty investment firm. The acquisition signaled the demise of EF Hutton as an independent entity, and its name slowly faded from the public consciousness.

Attempt at revival
There have been several efforts to revive the EF Hutton brand after the company's sudden bankruptcy in the 1980s. The firm was merged with various prominent investment banks on Wall Street, including Primerica, Morgan Stanley, and eventually Citigroup.
After the 2008 subprime mortgage crisis, Citigroup sold the E.F. Hutton brand. In 2012, a group of E.F. Hutton alumni led by Frank Campanale announced plans to relaunch the firm, but this effort was abandoned in 2013.
In 2014, a new group led by Christopher Daniels re-launched the brand as EFH Group Inc., changing the stylization to "EF Hutton." E.F. Hutton's founder's grandson, Stanley Hutton Rumbough, served as non-executive Chairman. EFH Group went public through a reverse merger in 2014, renaming itself EF Hutton America, Inc. (trading as HUTN).
HUTN aimed to use technology and social media to provide innovative financial services but was under-capitalized. By 2018, it had accumulated $14 million in debt and had to pledge its office building and EF Hutton brand rights as collateral. In 2019, CEO Christopher Daniels resigned after failed debt restructuring attempts. HUTN ceased normal operations and began the process of dissolution, with its chairman providing interim funding.

EF Hutton has become a lifeless shell being worn out and traded by glory-seeking upstarts trying to brand themselves as Markee Wall Street operators.
EF Hutton Group, a rebranding of Kingswood Capital Markets, was revived by Joseph T Rallo and Mark Boral in 2021. Joe and Mark are alumni of Aegis Capital Inc, a well-established but disreputable farm-to-table securities hustler. EF Hutton is a penny junk stock pusher exposing its investors and the public to Chinese scams, worthless biotech, and all sorts of mediocre products.

In conclusion
Chinese scams and penny stocks do not infiltrate our trusted exchanges and platforms without the assistance and promotion of bankers and the media. The industry preys on the gullibility of the investing public for profit. Investment bankers, appearing respectable but actually callous and sociopathic, knowingly promote worthless schemes to line their pockets with hefty commissions, shifting wealth from the US to foreign jurisdictions. EF Hutton is among the firms benefiting a select few unethical individuals. The financial culture is irreparably toxic.

Title says most of it. I have purchased most of my Omega time through Amazon.com for the last 2-3 years. Last week I purchased time for one of my accounts and never received it. I have filed a ticket with CCP and only received a copy and paste reply that they do not give refunds on digital goods.

I never asked for a refund. I asked why the time had not appeared in my account. I then replied with the amazon invoice and asked them if they could please confirm they had or had not received the order on their side. Several days since and an additional ticket later I have still heard nothing else. Of course Amazon has a policy to not refund any digital purchases and told me to contact the vendor as well. Amazon however keeps very good track of purchases to linked accounts and shows the order was placed and successful to the account on June 2nd (although the purchase date and invoice date are June 1st).

After some poking around and trying to figure out if maybe it was credited to one of my other accounts I discovered it is not currently possible to link new accounts to Amazon! You get the following error.

I then went to check to see if maybe CCP had pulled out of Amazon but if you go to their third party retailers page it still displays amazon.com for North America.

Getting curious I checked the other third party sites. Steam and Markee Dragon Games appear to be working. Amazon has nothing that appears upon searching, Humble bundle appears to only have a 4.99 start pack, and Green Man Gaming looks to only have plex at old prices and increments (1100 plex at $39.99 not 1000 at $44.99) but no omega time. The Russian resale site appears to have something listed but I can't read Russian to be certain if its game time or plex. So 3/6 sites you can not currently purchase game time from.

So It appears Eve Online third party game time purchasing has some pretty big problems at the moment. And unfortunately contacting CCP by filing a ticket has gone nowhere, so here I am posting on Reddit... So if you can spare an upvote perhaps the customer relations team cares more than the support team.

TLDR: CCP broke its Amazon 3rd party account linking and likely the system with other third party vendors as well. Attempts to contact them after purchasing omega time that has been billed but not awarded in game has been met with only copy and paste refund refusals.

Update: Support tickets were answered and I have received the time credited to the account! Hopefully the rest of the Amazon account linking will gets straightened out at some point as I did prefer it for purchasing time.

Ok, so I (29F) have recently found out that I have Hypothyroidism, on the verge of diabetes and heavily unhealthy. I've been "chunky" for almost 20 years now due to using food as an escape from depression and bullies. Thanks to thyroids my Eczema is flaring up worse to the point of blister zits of sorts. It has also made me loose my hair. I had very thick, silky smooth, perfect hair. One of 3 features about myself I loved. Now I'm loosing my hair, thinning out too, to the point where if I ran my fingers through it, I'd love about a dozen or more strands straight from the roots without even pulling.
I also suffer from heavy depression and the thyroids, preventing "happy cell thoughts" as I say to kids, has made it much worse. Im also very very VERY low on vitamin D. This is because I don't go out much due to only 1 friend plus the crud happening. I also discovered my tight chest feelings and burst of tears moments are also due to anxiety. Also, I have a meniscus tear in my left me. This can make it harder for me to exercise our walk at times and it's not because of my weight that cause this. Even being overweight I was still active as a teenager and would ride my bike and walk around the mall and do a lot of dancing. I had also gone into a car accident a few years ago and when they pulled me out of the car they hurt my left leg but a scan showed nothing was wrong with it at the time. We think because of the thyroids and that accident and being active is what caused it.
TRUST ME! THIS IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND!
So on with the story.
I've been working security at a site, can't say real thing so lets call it Phone Cable World, for almost 1 year now. Recently, this guy has been flirting with me, calling me cute and sweet and what not, which makes me feel good. All because I fixed his broken glasses. Him flirting with me, a lard filled mess, makes me feel good about myself. He used to bring me coffee too. Well, he works from home now but we talk.
I live with my mom, due to bad pay and this crud, so I tend to talk to her sometimes. See, she has the habit of pissing me off. It also doesn't help that all my problems make me upset and easily triggers me into being upset. Especially the anxiety.
I talked to her about how the guy, lets call him Bravo after one of my favorite characters Johnny Bravo, wants to take me out to lunch on a date. This upset my mom. Why? Because in her words "All you care about is men." And "You need to focus on you." Or even "You ALWAYS go crazy over men. It breaks us apart." All I want is to be a wife and a mom. How can I do that without dating? Yet she INSISTS I "Strut around a military base and hook up with one to be set for life." As she says. I don't want that because I have shit confidence.
If it helps clear the story. I'm 254 pounds and 5'4 with brown hair, brown eyes and glasses. Other than a pregnant looking belly, thighs and sometimes my upper arms, you can't tell I'm fat. My mom looks the same except shorter, 5 feet, older (55F) and wrinkles with no glasses. She body shames me on many things I wear (like my 2 piece bikini swim skirt original star trek swim suit built for thin AND thick girls) or that I wear too much black (because I'm a bit more goth in style plus black is slimming and matches everything) or that my casual clothes embarrass her. (Like a dragon shirt or a super hero one etc.).
Why don't I move out? I live in NY and get paid crap. You do the math.
Back to story. My mom dislikes me dating. Maybe because she has no social life and I'm all she depends on? Idk. She was supposed to get me that new bowflex bike machine, the one with leaning side to side feature, for Christmas. This thing costs $2600 with shipping and istalling. Its all I wanted since the gyms might close again and my doctors want me to excersize more. Heck, even Bravo wanted one. It was going to take 10 plus weeks to ship to me but I was going to be happy to have it and using it about 3 times a week so what harm could it do to wait that long? Well, I wouldn't be on here explaining everything and asking the big question if it wasn't for what happened earlier.
At about 8pm my mom had started stirring up touble. See, everytime she gets me something, she holds it over my head in one form or another. Examples. "I got you this, why don't you use it more? This is for you, for your collection, so why not get rid of others? Here's this because you wanted it. You don't deserve it in my eyes or it cost me soooo much that now I'm behind on things." Mind you, except birthday Christmas and the rare emergency, I ask for nothing!
So, after she starts her crap she left me alone for a bit telling me she loves me. The crap she started? About how I'm always on my video games. Tonight I wasn't and I was actually typing fanfiction and she then starts saying I'm always typing my stupid stories. Maybe some of them are stupid but between typing and playing games it actually helps me feel better. She then tells me with all the time I spend on the computers I could have done one class online for the college I'm going to. (Also if anybody's interested in what I'm studying for I'm trying to be a zoologist and that is not the easiest thing for me right now. It also doesn't help I have really crappy internet so online classes are going to be even harder.)
Ok. So after that I went to bed. She opens my door, a feature she ALWAYS does and I HATE IT, to tell me "You shouldn't go on dates with Bravo or anyone. You need to work on you. You need to stop thinking constantly about this date and do something productive like pay your bills. You're not saving money. You're going backwards. Etc."
Only reason why I'm having a hard time saving money is because again I'm a crap and have to get my own food as well as pay my car insurance and the gas and do a bunch of other stuff. As far as the bills that have gone into debt and collection I am really trying to pay them off. They are mostly medical bills.
Well, I snapped.
"You don't get it! With everything that's going on with me right now could you stop for one moment and realize that someone actually complimenting me everyday and calling me beautiful actually helps me feel better? I'm not obsessing about a date but I do want to go on it because this guy is so sweet to me and makes me feel good with simple words. You don't know what it's like for me right now. You say you do but you really don't. You're not the one going through everything and feeling like total other crap every time to the point of you wonder why you're even here and feeling all the tears Escape you. One little day is not going to do any harm."
Yes, Bravo knows about my medical problems and he still calls me beautiful and, if I lose all my hair 100%, would figure out a way for my to get hair implants at any cost to help me smile.
She tries to argue back but it got shut down fast.
Im now sleeping and she wakes me up AT 1 AM!!! ( thank god I don't work tomorrow but I either sleep too much, because of thyroids, or not enough because of anxiety. This week its lack of sleep. You'd be cranky too after that.)
Why did she wake me up?
To rant on and on about how her chest hurts from stress and that I'm stressing her out because I want to go on a date.
I snapped at her and told her bad she is stressing herself out because she doesn't know how to calm down and doesn't know how to live a life. I also told her one freaking date again is not going to hurt me and if she doesn't like that so much then how come she doesn't try to make herself look nicer than usual to go on a freaking date instead of using the I am old card.
She left me alone and after 20 minutes I couldn't get back to sleep so I decided to go on my phone to see if I could watch something or listen to something and saw a text message from her. Yes she will sometimes text me while I'm sleeping so when I wake up from either the phone or when I wake up naturally or by the alarm I will immediately see it. Also I keep the ringtone on my phone on at all times because of work.
The message basically tells me she's going to call the company in the morning that's going to process my Christmas gift and cancel it because if I'm going to concentrate on one date and I don't deserve it so she can pay bills.
Well again with lack of sleep I tend to snap even more so. I'm sure most of you do as well. I replied back to go ahead and that I will save and get the damn thing myself and reminded her again I'm not hung up on one date and how is she doesn't want to help me health-wise like she claims she always wants to help then don't bother helping at all. And I even mentioned how she would probably hang it over my head like she always does with everything else she gets me. I also mentioned that just because I want to have a happy life doesn't mean she needs to get angry and jealous over it. Also told her if she was happy for always upsetting me and causing me mental harm to make herself happy?
After I sent it, 10 minutes later, I burst into tears. I sobbed for 30 minutes. My sweet little doggo, pug boston terrier mix and extra cuddly, heard the 1st sob, woke up and rushed from my side by my knees right up to my chest and hugged/snuggled me while licking my tears away. Such a sweet girl. She helps me soooo much. Also I tend to burst into tears after anger most times. I believe thats another effect of anxiety.
Now its past 4 am and I can't sleep due to my heart pounding and my body aching. Body aches are another thyrois symptom and tge pounding chest, well, yeah... Im also trying not to cry while typing this. Damn depression.

I mean, I could've tried to be nicer, but I tend to snap and I hate tip toeing around so I'm blunt and straight forward.

First time poster. long time lurker, but only if you count Youtube. So please be forgiving about formatting errors. I'm going to go in-depth about my content intake so TLDR at the bottom. I (22f) Have been asked to post this question by my partners (26m)&(38m). Sort of as a joke but not really. So. I only got interested in these videos about a year and a half ago. It started when I started watching Tumblr meme videos, which led to insaneparents videos, and down the reddit hole I went. entitledparents, JUSTNOMIL, and bridezillas have been my favorites, along with IDontWorkHereLady, talesfromtechsupport, AITA, and of course Advice. I found the content readers that I prefer, rSlash, ASK GURU, Kore, Fresh, Mark Narrations, Markee, One Topic At A Time, Bumfris, Reddit Girl, and Radio TTS(kinda hoping this pops up on one of their videos, but I know this may not get any traction at all). I will fill up my tabs with these videos off of my subscriptions and listen to them most of the day. To try and make my Partners' point first, I did counting on my Watch History. Over the last 4 days, I have watched 83 videos on youtube. 47 were reddit videos and 36 were not. It doesnt seem so bad until you realize that most of the non-reddit videos are under 10 minutes, and your average Reddit video is 15-30 minutes long. So I'd say that they are fair in saying that reddit makes up most of my content intake. They think that there must be something funny going on with my brain. they've said it seems almost compulsory. My side: I have been stuck in the same small city for nearly my entire life and have had little ability travel and to have ACTUAL interactions, so I'm trying to gain wisdom from others. (especially since my plans to travel have been halted by Auntie Rona). I dont like silence that much, it just seems easier for me to keep tasks straight in my brain if I have someone talking to listen to. I used to fill the silence with audio books and still occasionally do. So I listen to reddit the way other people listen to NPR on the radio. (I can appreciate silence, I just dont prefer it as default. If I'm having an actual conversation with people I'll pause my video and truly engage with them. I DO watch other things like news(whether it's actual news like The Young Turks, or comedy "news" with Trevor Noah and John Oliver), movie and book review's(like Lost In Adaptation, Lindsey Ellis, Folding Ideas, FilmJoy), what I call, commentary heavy reviews (Cynical Reviews, Big Joel, Jack Saint), History/Mythology(Extra Credits, Overly Sarcastic Productions, CrashCourse, History Buffs), And a BUNCH MORE The "Problem" with alot of these other channels is that they dont put out their content fast enough for me to listen to something new everyday. I of course dont want any of my content creators to change their process just to suit me, so most of the time I just end up listening to the channels that put out the most, EI, Read-on-Reddit channels. Then I just enjoy it. I find them funny, interesting, relatable(on occasion) and cathartic alot of the time. BUT: I am extremely biased in my own favor. My Partners' and I struggle with who gets to decide what we listen to, mostly because they dont fill silence the way I do, so I just end up having the floor all day, because I start playing videos almost as soon as I wake up, but thats not the point of this post.
So what do you think Reddit?? Is it just an evolution of listening to audio books, or do I actually have some sort of problem????? Any incites would be appriciated!!! <3

The Judgement's who are a group of the most powerful Psionics only agreed on one rule. It sounds childlike in its simplicity but it's their only rule, everything else goes. Their rule:

Martial is the physical manifestation of peak physical performance giving stamina and energy to those who are willing to train to gain access.
The rules of the community are called the Principals. They come from the Principals of the Guilds.
The Principals are a set of rules made for those who have a set of skills needed or wanted by others. Since there is many skills and talents that others would like to pay for, from making beautiful and detailed art to stealing said art to killing because of that art. The Principals are in place to not protect anyone but a set of guidelines to protect the pact or agreement or contract set in place.
The rules are:
- The marker must complete the mark.
[From the start of the contract to the completed product and delivery]
- The marker must not wrong the markee.
[No defamation, murder, intimidation]

Primal is the accumulated energy garnered from the living creatures of nature.
The rules of the community are called the Laws. They come from the Laws of the Land.
The energy is a mixture of the primal need of animals and humans. For humans it's not stealing their food, home, items and for animals it's not taking their prey, their habitat or young. For animals there is one word that conveys each law. For humans the three laws have been perpetuated into many bylaws.
The laws are:
- Cycle - Let life happen.
[No killing own kind] [No Murder]
- Conservation - No taking what isn't yours to take.
[No depleting prey to extinction] [No theft]
- Homage - Respect authority
[Pay homage to Alpha] [No Treason]

Arcane is the positive aspect of magic the ones that can create through willpower and skill.
The rules for that community are called the Orders. They come from the Orders of the Council.
Since those magically inclined are technically not mortal due to using life energy itself to live longer any rules that are set would have to last for millennia and be valid for that amount of time. If someone else takes over the council any normal rules could be changed to suit ones needs so concrete rules were set early on not to protect mortals, or the arcane users themselves but what the Mages/ Sorcerers/Artificers/Witches/Magus and whoever could do to reality itself.
Their rules are:
- Do not flow against the current of time
[No time travel]
- Do not reach beyond the borders of life.
[No bringing beings back from the beyond]
- Do not summon outsiders.
[No granting access to outside forces]
- Do not alter mortals.
[No enthralling, shape shifting]

Spirit is at the opposite end of the spectrum from Arcane. They deal with negative energy of the universe. If mortals are positive aspects of the world spirits and monsters are negatively bound.
The rules for that community are called the Accords. The name comes from the Accorded Nations.
They are rules set out by the Fae who inhabit a sort of mirroring dimension known simply as "Faerie" where the rules are for nations who had been fighting since time immemorial. Since Faerie had been tied to the mortal realm since the beginning of time when the world got more civilized so did the spirit world. To become more so the Fae nobles enacted the Accords imbuing it into the fabric of their being.
Their Rules:
- Thrice shall be binding.
[Any deal that is three times agreed upon is bound by the accords]
- Guest rights and safe passage are bound by honor.
[Any invitation or safe passage must be respected by the Guest and Host]
- Reparations can be asked for in grievances.
[Any times the Nations of the Accords have grievances between each other, members killed, possessions broken, reparations can be asked for that equal what has been taken.]
- Duello is challenged when grievances become feuds.
[A neutral judge can be called upon to immediate a Duel between the Nations]
- Any Iron death will always be repaid.
[Iron is the bane of the entire Faerie. Any harm dealt with Iron shall be repaid in kind]

Divine is the power of the beings that are past the immortal. The powerful beings of the universe named GOD/Gods/god/godlings.
The rules for the community are called the Sanctions. The name comes from the Oath of Sanctuaries.
The rules are set out by mortals who wish to govern the main practices of all the Divine. Since the divine can be good, evil, lawful, or chaotic or all the rules are mainly neutral in nature.
Their Rules:
- Praise thy God, in the practice most favored of them.
- Those who are worthy are welcome in the kingdom of thy God.
- Only thy God can judge.
- Thou shall not challenge thy God.
- Thou shall not falsely voice thy God.
- Thou shall favor that what thy God has granted.

Immigration: How should it be handled?
Immigration has been a significant topic in the United States ever since its founding. It’s even said that the nation owes its existence to the immigrants who first came to the New World centuries ago. The immigrants came from many different regions of different languages and cultures. As a result, the United States now stands as one of the most culturally diverse and populous countries in the world. In current times, however, immigration is looked upon in a different light then in the past. Historically, immigration has been the method of increasing the population and overall poweinfluence of the nation. Examples being expanding to the west coast to fulfill Manifest destiny and being able to get involved in world affairs. With present social standards and technology, immigration now seems to have taken on different meanings and implications depending on the viewpoint. Some define it as the method in which the United States retains in cultural diversity and social standing among other countries. Others view it as the way in which crime, drugs, and poverty make their way into the country. These differing views make immigration a significant topic of debate among common people and government officials which can only be resolved through enacting a compromise that regards both sides of the debate.
With people divided on their views of immigration, it is only expected that national government will have to take a stance on the issue. The current administration of the United States, the Trump Administration, has taken action to end programs such DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). However, they promise to replace the program with one that satisfies the current Congress and their constituents. Many feel that this is unfair to those protected under DACA, known as Dreamers, as they came to the country as children and had no say in the process. DACA is an immigration policy that allows individuals, under restrictive conditions, who came to the country as minors, who had either came or remained in the country without legal permission to do so, to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and to be eligible for a work permit. DACA was first established by President Barack Obama in 2012 and then expanded in 2014. The policy itself differed from other immigration policies as it offered no direct path to U.S citizenship which allowed for it to be passed by Congress when it was first introduced by President Obama. After President Trump took office in 2017, his administration began plans to phase out DACA which caused widespread controversy, especially in states and cities with high minority populations. Currently, there are 800,000 people protected under DACA who are all subject to potential deportation if DACA is rescinded.
On more of a local level, information regarding ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raids in the central Texas region has come to light within the past few months. Fear has risen among minority communities with some individuals even taking steps to prepare for possible raids. ICE is a federal government enforcement agency under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security. Its operations include security investigations and enforcement and removal operations. ICE’s removal operations or “raids”, as they have been called by the wider public, have been controversial since ICE was founded in 2003. It has come under intense scrutiny after events in February 2018 have shown that ICE has understated how many people it has detained. ICE has been increasing its operations in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order that calls upon ICE and other agencies to reduce the number of undocumented immigrants in the United States. Austin has been one of the cities with the highest amount of ICE activity and with no shock. Austin is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States both in terms of population and urban development. A significant portion of the population is Hispanic or of minority descent. Within the Austin community, many feel that the ICE raids are shameful and only serve to spark fear within the population. They feel that the government should be more lenient in terms of law and enforcement.
A common misconception is that the overall debate is one of whether immigration should be allowed or be abolished. In reality, the debate is on to what extent should it be considered liable. The solutions offered to the debate range from allowing immigration only under strict protocols to creating completely open borders. Most of the arguments, however, fall somewhere in between. When accounting for all the facts regarding immigration, it can be seen why there is a vast range of opinions. The most significant pertain to immigration's effects on the economy and on the social welfare of the population. With these things in mind, most of the stakeholders in this debate agree that there should be a fair and legal way for immigrants to be able to come to the United States. The measures taken to address the issue can’t be too drastic nor too lenient.
Those who are for-immigration argue that immigration is important to sustain the cultural diversity of the United States. They state that immigration is an overall benefit for the economy due to the higher productivity of immigrant workers and their tendency to spend less energy and resources. They defend their arguments by citing evidence that the growing immigrant population led to an increase in the overall net boost in the U.S economy and led to a decrease in crime in some areas of the country. Research done by Jacqueline Varas, Director of Immigration and Trade Policy at the American Action Forum, “found that a 1 percent increase in immigrant employment per state leads to a 0.5 percent increase in income per worker.” In a study done by Charis Kubrin and his associates where they gathered evidence gathered from over 200 metropolitan areas showed that immigration, “reduces levels of crime by revitalizing urban neighborhoods, creating vibrant communities and generating economic growth”. As such they believe that a more lenient approach is optimal.
On the other side of the debate are those who advocate for stricter policies on immigration. They cite the fact that immigration leads to higher poverty and drug profiteering. They add that the social stability and economy of the nation also debilitates. George Borjas, professor of economics and social policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, argues that immigration hurts low skilled American workers by the fact that, “the earnings of this particularly vulnerable group dropped by between $800 and $1,500 each year”. Poverty in the United States also increases as shown by research done by Jared Bernstein, a former Obama administration economist, where it was found that, “adding immigrants to the mix raises poverty rates, but over time, trends are pushing in different directions.” A common consensus among the people on this side of the debate is that immigration should be reduced on both a legal and social level. Although they believe that immigration should be limited, the degree on which it should be limited differs among individuals and groups.
Being the son of an immigrant means that I take more personal stance on the issue. I am part of the first generation of children in my family to be born in the United States. My father and his siblings came to the United States in the 1980’s in search for financial stability. After years of working throughout the United States, they started a chain of Mexican restaurants called Taqueria Guadalajara in Corpus Christi, Texas. By the late 1990’s, the chain grew to about ten individual restaurants which employed hundreds of employees. When I was born, my family already had a firm financial standing and had made a name for themselves in the area. The restaurants had even become local icons. Many students would go and eat breakfast tacos before they would go to school. They were also popular spots to go and eat dinner. I have observed that people have even given a sort of an acronym for the restaurants. Instead of calling them by their full titles, they call them “Guad” which is short for “Guadalajara.” For example, if someone wanted to go eat at the restaurant they would just say, “Let’s go to the Guad!” In my experience, I have seen the positive effects that immigration has on the economy and social integrity of a city. The city where I grew up, Corpus Christi, is an example of this. Corpus Christi is one of the largest and busiest ports in the United States and contains a majority Hispanic population. Corpus Christi is not known to be crime-ridden city nor is it a city with financial instabilities. My family has been living in the city for almost half a century and in that time have not been subject to any of the shortcomings of immigration nor have they evaded the law. They serve as examples of immigrants who come legally to the United States in search of financial well-being who contribute to the national economy and social stability. People like my family aren’t in any way rare. They constitute a significant majority of immigrants who come to the country.
It is quite evident that immigration is a highly complicated issue that will take a significant compromise to resolve, but then again, the issue isn’t assured to go away. I have noticed a trend in the arguments made by some stakeholders. For instance, I will bring about an argument made by Kirk Johnson, Senior Policy Analyst in the Center for Data Analysis at The Heritage Foundation, where he states that the real problem in regards to immigration is “...is security, not the supposed threat to the economy,” and an assertion made by Alex Nowrasteh, the immigration policy analyst at the Cato Institute’s Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity, where he states that most arguments regarding immigration fail to show the entire picture of the debate. As you can see, instead of arguing that immigration is an overall burden to the United States, most stakeholders in this debate narrow their arguments down to the point where they fail to consider other important facts on the issue. Narrowing the argument down, in other words having a very specific argument, is the trend that I have noticed many stakeholders such as Johnson doing. As I said before, immigration is a highly complex issue. All the stakeholders in the issue offer different reasonings and different solutions with only a few advocating for compromises. I think a likely solution to the problem would be to acknowledge the benefits of immigration while containing its deficits. In other words, forming a compromise between the two sides of the issue. Most of the reports I have come across acknowledge that immigration is an overall benefit to the economy of the United States, but state that immigration does indeed lead to social instability and the undermining of the government. I feel that the optimal compromise is to enact stricter borders and harsher punishments for undocumented immigrants who come to the country illegally or for criminal reasons. However, those immigrants who come to the United States legally whether it be for familial or financial reasons should not be treated unfairly and have opportunities to make a life for themselves. A clear majority of immigrants in the United States abide the law and contribute to the public good by paying taxes while creating vibrant and united communities. They should not be held accountable by the actions of a few.
With this amount of debate and controversy, the solution on how to handle immigration seems to be a complex network of debates and compromises. The arguments for immigration focus primarily on ethics and the economy while those against immigration focus on government and social stability. It is evident that the debate on this issue is one of vital importance and will decide the future of countless individuals. As such, we should take this issue to heart and come up with a solution that considers both an immigrant’s desire to live a good life and the overall well-being of the nation.

At this point I don't have a ton of details. What is known thus far came initially from THIS reddit thread, and there has been a lot of back and forth over Twitter as to exactly what is going on.
On the surface, it looks like SOMERblink is at it again with another crazy masked RMT scheme. Their last one ended in a sort of implosion of public angst, and was shut down by CCP in no uncertain terms. This latest one was apparently "vetted and approved" by CCP.

The scheme this time around works like this: You go to Somer's site and click their link to buy a PLEX from Markee Dragon. Once the purchase is confirmed, you are granted a "PLEX Credit" which is Somer's promise to buy that PLEX from you. Right now, Jita prices are around 785 million, but Somer will buy them from you with your PLEX credit for 830 Million. A best estimate suggests that Somer's cut of a PLEX sale at Markee Dragon is in excess of 8% of the sale (SOMERblink bailed on Shattered Crystal and switched to Markee Dragon when the bidding war between the 2 resellers hit 8% according to SC)
Assuming 8% of the sale and a PLEX sale price of just 780 million, $350.08=$2.80/2=$1.40. 830m-780m=50m actually spent per $1.40. 1 Billion ISK/50 Million=201.40 = $28 per Billion ISK.
The lower the sale margin, the better for Somer in this case, so if they are able to sell off their PLEX for the equivalent of 785m ISK they make $31.10 per billion at an 8% commission. Even at $28 per billion, Somer is far outstripping any "honest" ISK selling service (read: the dudes who don't try to hide that they're doing RMT) who are making $11-$13 per billion, and getting both their and their buyers accounts banned left right and center. If you or I buy a pair of PLEX for $35 and sell them on the market for 785 million ISK a pop we are spending about $22.29 for 1b ISK, but this is before the SCC takes their cut.

According to Radamere on Twitter, that 830 Million ISK is put directly into your Blink account, meaning, you are selling a PLEX for Blink credit (something entirely misleading on SOMERblink's site as they word it to seem like they are paying out straight ISK). Somer's payout is around 80%, so on the average, 830 million in blink credit will actually generate payouts back to players worth around 644 million ISK, so instead of paying 830 million for an item worth 780, they are actually paying out the equivalent of 644 million for that same product. Using that logic you are actually PAYING Somer 136m ISK plus $1.40 from Markee Dragon to take that PLEX off your hands! In other words, I can't actually give you a $$ per Billion figure since Somer isn't actually spending any ISK on this, you're paying them....twice. (Read: You're getting scammed son)
When one considers the old RMT scheme was paying out 200m in blink credit per GTC sold, and the new one taking IN 136m ISK + $1.40 per PLEX sold, Somer has REALLY put the screws to their customers on this one.
The scheme would be positively brilliant if not for the fact that anyone with half a brain should be able to see that this is still obviously RMT, and should be quite against the spirit of the game, the EULA, and TOS and all that jazz.

Of course, according to SOMERblink's website, "This program has been vetted and approved by CCP." Assuming for a moment that Somer isn't dumb enough to make a false claim about that, I have yet to see anything from CCP endorsing this. If I were a betting man (haha get it?) I would put my ISK on Somer dropping a petition outlining what they wanted to do and getting a response from a GM saying they didn't see anything wrong with it. Since there is no point of reference on Somer's site, and petitions are considered confidential information (you can get banned for a copy/pate of a GM response to a petition even if you don't post it on a CCP service) this seems the most likely scenario.
From a lot of the angry words I'm seeing on the net, there are some hot headed people ready to string up CCP over this scheme for "endorsing" it, but I would urge everyone to stay calm. Why?
1: This scheme is complex, and we don't know how this was explained in the petition (assuming there was one. I have no insider info on this and can't confirm or deny this was even done through petitions). In simple terms, they could have just asked if it was ok to purchase PLEX from players in exchange for Blink credit. It's obviously ok to purchase PLEX from someone for ISK. All of that seems pretty legit except for the part where that PLEX purchase and what looks like a bonus requires a RL cash payment to SOMERblink in order to obtain. Without all the facts presented in a clear fashion, even I would probably give the nod to this. Without the RL purchase requirement, people are just dumb to sell something worth 780m to Somer for the equivalent of 644m. I'd call that a scam, not really RMT, since if Somer wasn't required to get paid RL $$ to sell the PLEX to you in the first place, it's just in-game items being exchanged, and there's nothing wrong with that.
2: Even if the scheme was explained to a CCP employee in the fullest detail, this would not mark the first time in Eve history that some clever player got a GM to tentatively sign off on something, only to have the decision completely reversed upon further review.
Look, there's no way CCP let's this scheme stand, it'll get shut down just like the last one. Ideally, I'd like to see SOMERblink and Markee Dragon get their pee pee's slapped for this, because both of them should know better and shouldn't have tried to pull this stunt in the first place. Unfortunately, if someone at CCP did sign off on this, I think the best we can look forward to is a swift and decisive closure to this little loop hole, and another cease and desist order from CCP to it's PLEX resellers.
For the CSM's part, while I can't speak for the other members, I don't think anyone is happy about this, and I wouldn't be shocked if you hear or read words from the others as this develops.

A thread earlier today touched on this, but in case you've been living under a rock - over the last month or two, YouTube's content ID system has been on a rampage among gaming channels, and many people feel like being set Managed is the only prayer. While finding an MCN willing to trust you with a Managed partnership will protect you from quite a lot - some people don't want to partner, or are stuck in a contract with someone who won't give them a Managed account. The real solution is to make it possible for everyone to work within YouTube's broken system.
How?
As a staff member of a gaming-focused MCN - Markee Dragon Network - one of our primary focus points has been trying to smooth over the problems for the gaming video producing community.
Now, as a starting point, it's important to understand that YouTube didn't change its rules at all. It's still the same system as ever, as movie reviewers have been telling us gamers. What changed was the way YouTube treated MCNs, and the unwillingness of most MCNs to keep their partners as Managed.
Other posts have put out heaps of useful information for gaming content producers to absorb about how to dance with the YouTube ContentID and Fair Use devils, but there are a few things gamers have going for them that movie reviewers do not.
Namely: Developer involvement.
Many game developers are aware of how much advertising presence YouTube videos create for their product. Wolfire Games saw a HUGE increase in sales for their game Overgrowth after NerdCubed made a Let'sPlay video featuring it.
The problem? Game developers aren't usually well-versed in YouTube content production or the weirdness YouTube requires to dispute claims. Many developers are engaged in the community and want to allow fan video production, but they give their permission in the form of emails, reddit posts, tweets, or forum posts - which YouTube won't even look at. Many developers such as Jonathan Blow, Terry Cavanagh, and the No More Room in Hell team have even had their own games claimed.
So, what can MCNs do to help fix this problem?
Education. We need more developers aware of the situation and aware of what they can do to join us in fixing it.
Over the last two weeks, we've mailed dozens of developers who haven't made a public statement, or who have posted permissions that YouTube won't accept and provided them a template statement that YouTube will accept. That's where the education part came in.
To date, there have been 11 developers who replied favorably and implemented a statement that will allow users to refute bogus ContentID claims if they produce content with those games.

Each of them created YouTube-acceptable statements and posted them publicly. You'll notice, most of these are small to upper-mid-sized studios - it's the large guys that need a wake-up call on what their silence is doing to their communities. Looking at you, Nintendo and NCSoft.
What can content producers do to help?
Peer pressure.
You, as a community member, need to make your voice heard to these developers - praise the ones who are engaged with their community, and ask the ones who aren't engaged why they aren't. That's why above I've included twitter or contact links for each of the Good Guy Developers. Throwing a tweet at one of them praising their engagement shows the other developers how much fan engagement these kinds of actions create, at no cost or risk to the developer. Making a LP with some of their content is an even better indicator.
But these guys aren't the only ones. Many studios made statements without our help - Valve, Mojang, and Blizzard to name some of the big ones. We created a search engine that clarifies the public statements each different studio has made. So please do throw some love at those guys as well. Let them know you notice their engagement.
As we all know - YouTube doesn't believe it has a dog in this fight, and will continue as normal. Our only hope of continuing to produce quality content without headaches is to work together as content producers, MCNs, and developers. That's why our MCN has had this initiative to create public permission statements for everyone to use. It's why we set all members as managed from the beginning. Content producers have been greatly engaged too - researching, working, learning, and developing new methods of dealing with YouTube. They've also been great at telling us, as an MCN, what it is they need from us to help their process.
It's the remaining developers we need to bring on board - whether through education or peer pressure - to make the system less painful for us all.
tl;dr - Tell developers you appreciate when they make permission statements, or tell them you don't appreciate their silence.
