2024.05.15 12:07 wowinfotechDi Exploring Future: App Development Trends for 2024.

As we move into 2024, at least the mobile app development landscape is expected to continue to evolve rapidly. In the mobile app business, developers are creating a wide range of apps, from consumer-grade to enterprise-level and high-performing medical solutions. To create dependable and effective software, developers must utilise the newest and most advanced technological stack, regardless of the stage of development. The most widely used frameworks and libraries, which serve as the foundation for creating high-quality apps on various platforms such as Windows, iOS, Android, and so on, are the only ways to accomplish this.
Mobile app technologies are available in the app stores if you want to create apps that work with Internet of Things (IoT) devices, offer social media integration, cloud storage services, and internal device communication.Mobile app developers are creating a wide range of apps, from high-performing to consumer-grade.
Here are some trends for what's likely to be popular in making apps in 2024:
  1. AI and Machine Learning: Better Experiences, Smarter Apps:
While machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) have long been buzzwords, 2024 will see them take centre stage in app development. We can looking at applications that provide a more customised experience than ever before by anticipating requirements and preferences in addition to reacting to user input. Apps are becoming smarter and more user-friendly thanks to AI and ML, from sophisticated virtual assistants to complex recommendation engines.
It has the potential to greatly streamline the mobile app development process
By referring to present activity of human , AI can mimic user behaviour.
In this way, we may use apps with AI built into them to govern all of our possessions and feed in the essential data to our mobile devices.
AI-Powered Smartphone Applications to Anticipate:
  1. Voice Technology: Using the Convenience Language;
One of the most sought-after trends in mobile app development for 2024 is voice recognition. Asking your phone to tell you the weather is no longer the only use of voice technology. Voice-enabled apps are becoming increasingly common in 2024, allowing users to communicate with them without using their hands. This is particularly important for accessibility, as it improves the usability of programs for all users.
The development community is becoming more and more interested in developing AI-powered voice recognition software for online and mobile applications. Voice recognition has become a necessary tool in our lives due to the rise of smart speakers and virtual assistants like Siri and Google Assistant. These days, smartphone consumers love using speech-to-text and text-to-speech tools for in-app functionality.
These features improve the user experience overall in addition to improving accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Voice commands enable mobile users to order food, send texts, make calls, and perform other tasks. Including a feature like this in your mobile app can help set it apart from the competition and provide an
  1. Integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) to Build a Networked Ecosystem:
Streaming Internet Access
Mobile apps play a critical part in the IoT system as a whole. It enables end users to send commands, transfer, analyse, and configure connected devices in addition to interacting with the smart sensors. Thus, it is crucial to guarantee smooth connection, which requires a certain type of technology when using IoT devices
The world is becoming a networked ecosystem through the Internet of Things (IoT), and smartphone apps are coordinating this connectivity. Apps that monitor and manage wearables, cars, and smart home appliances will be even more prevalent by 2024, improving convenience and productivity.
Industrial Sector: Mobile IoT-based apps for the industrial sector enhance supply chain monitoring, inventory control, predictive maintenance, and simplified asset tracking. In addition, IoT promotes the expansion of industrial, energy, and construction businesses while also offering a secure work environment.
Retail, consumer, and healthcare industries all employ IoT in manufacturing.
  1. Augmented Reality:
Developers may now experiment and expand on augmented reality applications, as half of the world's population now has a smartphone. Although web apps have been explored, they lack the same level of appeal as mobile apps.
Game developers will undoubtedly use the well-known AR development tools Unity 3D in 2024 to create a few very addicting augmented reality gaming apps for devoted gamers.
Melting the Bound aries Between the Digital and Physical Worlds AR keeps blending the boundaries between the digital and physical realms, producing immersive, more dynamic, and engaging experiences. By 2024, augmented reality will have expanded beyond video games and social media filters to include the retail, education, and healthcare industries. It will give consumers new options for learning, shopping, and health management.
  1. 5G Technology: Advancing Velocity and Creativity:
For app developers, the introduction of 5G technology is revolutionary. This year, we're taking advantage of 5G's blazingly fast speeds to create apps that can manage larger amounts of data, support better-quality content, and provide seamless experiences.
The following are some 5G-capable apps to keep an eye out for this year:
  1. Mobile E-Commerce: A Revolution in Online Buying ;
In 2024, mobile commerce will take centre stage over e-commerce. Apps provide a whole shopping experience - personalised, safe, and with a variety of payment methods - not just a platform for online purchases. Shopping via mobile applications is becoming safer and faster because to the popularity of mobile wallets and one-click purchases.
  1. Cybersecurity: An Absolute Need:
With the increasing integration of applications into our daily lives, cyber security is becoming more and more important. In order to safeguard user information, app developers in 2024 will place a high priority on secure code, frequent upgrades, and strong data encryption.
  1. Personalised User Experience
AI-powered mobile apps can analyse user behaviour, preferences, and past interactions to deliver a highly personalised experience. This can include tailored content, product recommendations, and intelligent assistants that cater to the individual user's needs.

2024.05.15 11:55 firstdan78 uc50 evidence

Good morning all.
I am in the process of finishing my UC50 form and have an evidence question. Firstly, can i send off my PIP award form? It shows all the things that affect me but I do understand that PIP is awarded slightly differently to LCWRA...but I figured it wouldn't harm my application.
Secondly...What actual medical evidence do they want? I have Addison's disease as well as mental health issues but getting any letter from my GP is always difficult. For my PIP application, I screenshotted my NHS app which showed my conditions....but this form requires printed evidence. I do have a letter from my psychologist which confirms my mental health issues.
I haven't got long to send it back...I stupidly forgot to get it done earlier and now I am running out of time.
Many thanks

2024.05.15 10:03 VayagishBlackish Why Bother with RR 7-2024? Just Replace Your ORs and Be Done with It!

Why Bother with RR 7-2024? Just Replace Your ORs and Be Done with It!
Well, it might be because you lack the time, resources, or both. But I asked myself: Do I really need to cross out each OR, add "invoice," ensure the "not valid for input tax" message is visible, and then report to the BIR? Why not just replace my ORs with invoices? That’s exactly what I did. Here’s the scoop
Every platform, accounting firm, and tax guru was clamouring to spread the news about RR 7-2024. I released an article about this even before the regulation was officially announced—check it out here.
The Revenue Regulation informs taxpayers that Official Receipts (ORs) are now demoted to secondary status. You can use your current ORs until the end of the year, after which you’ll need to submit an inventory of all unused ORs to the BIR. Efficiency, thy name is not RR 7-2024.
I promptly swapped all my ORs for Service Invoices, cheerfully ignoring RR 7-2024. Freelancers and professionals, gather 'round—let me save you from the black hole of searching, fact-checking, and prepping for a BIR visit.
Step 1: Reconnect with Your Printer:
Remember your trusty, accredited printer? Give them a call and let them know you’re switching from ORs to invoices. Send them a template (There's a copy below) to ensure all the necessary components appear on your new invoice. Ask them to whip up a sample template for you to bring to the BIR.
Step 2: Apply for a New Authority to Print (ATP)
Armed with your printer’s template and a photocopy of your previous ATP certificate, head to your Revenue District Office (RDO). Declare your intention to switch from ORs to invoices under the EOPT law. Here’s what you’ll need:
  • BIR Form 1906 (2 originals)
  • Clear sample of your new invoice (the template from your printer)
  • Photocopy of your last ATP certificate
Step 3: Send the New ATP Certificate to Your Printer
Once you’ve got your new ATP, hand it over to your printer so they can start churning out your shiny new invoices. That's actually it... It will take you about a day or two depending how fast your RDO or how many people the office is servicing that day.
I know you have some questions here are some answers:
What happens to the unused ORs?
According to the BIR, you can keep them as secondary receipts. They don't expire, so hang onto them for acknowledging payments. Just remember, they can’t be used for VAT transactions. Personally, I’m sticking them in a drawer for the next decade. Who needs two receipts anyway?
Do I need to pay to replace my receipts?
The BIR won’t charge you for the ATP application, but your printer will certainly charge for the new invoice printing.
What type of invoice should I use?
Reddit and social media are abuzz with confusion over Service Invoices, Charge Invoices, Billing Invoices, etc. My tip? Let the BIR and your printer sort it out. They’ll determine the best invoice type based on your activities. Typically, Service or Billing Invoices are the go-to options. Visit your RDO for clarity.
There you have it! If you have the resources and a couple of days to spare, go ahead and replace your ORs with invoices instead of following RR 7-2024 to the letter. Remember, the regulation’s suggestion is a temporary fix, so you’ll be visiting the BIR eventually. Good luck!
Oh here is a sample receipt given by the front liners in my RDO:

2024.05.15 10:01 Hulian1606 What are my chances to be Accepted for MSc at a UK University? (International, CS + medtech background)

Hello,
i am a Medical Informatics student at a university of applied sciences in Switzerland. I will graduate at the age of 22 in July 25 with a grade of approximately 5.3/6. This grade would translate to an upper second class honors.
Since i am thinking of doing a Msc, the UK is attractive to me, because it offers programs with 1 year duration (vs. 2 years in Switzerland or Germany).
Besides my studies, i have significant work experience and a good portfolio i believe:
Work experience by the time i graduate:
-6 months medical engineering internship at major medtech company -6 months SDE internship at major german car brand -6 months junior part time position as blockchain developer -6 months part time internship as backend developer -12 months part time position as backend developer & Project lead (i led the development of an application that allows diabetes patients to store their health data decentralized and share the data with medical professionals on request + collaborated with a major swiss university on an IoT device for diabetes patients that integrates with above application) -2 months internship as security researcher in London -(If all goes well) 6 months full time thesis work in the field of medical robotics or ML
Portfolio:
-Medical image measurement tool that lets you slice and view images and vtk models and make measurements on them. -Multi Layer Perceptron that i built and evaluated from scratch (only math + numpy) to classify blood cells in a large data set. -Web application that lets you search all the 3d printers in your network, manage the jobs, print history and automatically slice the models. -Currently Building a robotic arm as can be seen here: https://arctosrobotics.com/ and improving it with a CAN interface for the motors that will decrease the number of cables needed significantly. I also hope to equip it with computer vision to perform more complex tasks.
I am most interested in these courses in the UK:
Bristol: Robotics
Bristol: Biorobotics
UCL: Medical Robotics
Imperial: Medical Robotics
Nottingham: ML for Science
Cambridge: Biotechnology
Cambridge: Machine Learning
Cranfield: Robotics
Manchester: Robotics
Edinburgh: Robotics
Edinburgh: ML & AI
But i actually have a list of 40 courses in the uk that i am interested in (mostly Robotics). The above mentioned are just my top picks.
What do you think are my chances of being accepted in any of the mentioned above or in general at a UK university in the field of (medical) engineering / CS? I am aware that some are pretty expensive for internationals but i will figure something out.
EDIT: The mentioned above courses all have upper second class entry standards.

2024.05.15 07:44 Repulsive_Feature_48 I sneaky snitched on my dad leading to my parents divorce

Per Sam and John’s request on Livestream… Background: My parents had been married over 30 years, they had gotten together in the late 80s and married when my mom (now 67) was diagnosed with cancer. This resulted in my adoption a few years later since mom couldn’t have kids after the chemo. Fast forward to 2019 and I (29f at the time) am getting ready to fully move out (i stayed home for a while bc after college I became my grandparents caregiver until they both passed). I had spent all day looking at apartments and was exhausted so I announced I was headed to bed early. My father (70 at the time) also announced he was going to bed too. Now it wasn’t unusual for him to go to bed early but I had noticed him taking his VR headset into bed several nights in a row after stopping in his office. I had had some suspicions of what was happening but also didn’t want to know bc…well ew! But that night as I laid in bed I could hear moaning coming from his office and was confused. I went in and saw an open to what I am pretty sure was an OF page or something to that extent with a bar across the screen reading VR active. I was already sufficiently grossed out and then head the woman on screen say my fathers name and knew this wasn’t just some downloaded porn but some kinda personalized video. No longer sleepy I went back downstairs and sat with my mom (who was sleeping downstairs bc of an injury) and gently tried to lead her in the right direction, “isn’t it weird that dad goes to bed with his VR set when the charger is not in the bedroom?” Mom kinda brushed it off at the time but now the cat was out of the bag for me and a few days later I not only heard the moaning again but earlier that day I was printing an application off his computer and I noticed a not well his folder labels XXX. Why I did this to myself I do t know but I clicked it and there were HUNDREDS of saved videos and chat logs with his favorite cam girl. When I heard him on the VR again I couldn’t handle it bc I could hear him too so I went downstairs and asked mom if she thought about what I had said days prior. She shrugged and said that whatever he is doing is his business. I then dropped the ball “even if he is paying for explicit videos from a cam girl?” Mom was obviously taken aback but again brushed it off. “Well…I guess that’s understandable. He hasn’t slept with me since I had chemo.” Meaning they hadn’t had any sexy sleep time since before I was born. I was floored but she told me to not mention it. But about a week later I found her sobbing. I asked her what was going on and she said that she felt betrayed at my dad sneaking these videos and paying for them without even attempting to be with her. I asked why she didn’t initiate and she said after chemo and everything it physically hurt to have relations. She tried several times over the years but eventually gave up trying and my dad just never tried after she told him it was painful. So I comforted my mom and she did eventually confront him about the cam girl and the video collection, which he denied and I had to tell him he didn’t mute the computer and I saw the video file and two videos at least. He got angry at me for snooping. Mom yelled at him to not try and turn it on me, and at some point asked “when did you stop caring about me and loving me” and the AUDACITY of this man to say “don’t ask me that because you won’t like the answer.” Mom now lives with me and my partner in our apartment. Father lives back in his home state near the kids that were actually his. His oldest daughter (from his first marriage) told me I was a bitch and entitled for taking my mom’s side (along with many other awful things but that’s for another post) and called my mother a bad wife for not standing by her husband. I am now no contact with my sister and ultra low contact with my father. We are struggling a lot, but mom is doing better (with plans for therapy now that her health care covers it finally), I am in therapy as well, and am happy with my partner whom my mom and two cats adore. Next step…set mom up with our favorite old man, John lmao! 😂

2024.05.15 07:36 collegethrwawayacc UW or JHU (accepted to both, making a decision)

Hi! I'm the bf of a gf who's been accepted to both JHU and UW Seattle for mech engineering. I'm super proud of her, and we've been weighing the pros/cons of going to each school, but it's been super difficult to decide. We're both from WA (I've also been accepted to UW Seattle for CS), so she'd be a in-state student. She's committed to JHU (just because the deadline is earlier than UW's, and she's heavily considering JHU), but still thinks about UW as an option. Some background, she's worked really hard in HS, taking on a contractor job at Boeing, has done a Museum of Flight program, done a bunch of 3D modeling/printing work. She's always been a learner, trying to learn more and doesn't want to stop learning. So that's where the line comes with UW and JHU. Here's what we have so far:
UW: - "meh" mech engineering program, she's heard that it's mostly theoretical (just design practice), less hands-on - unable to double major - about 15k a year, would commute for at least first year, considering other options in seattle after - grand total, 60k undergrad, 40k masters (?) = 100k for 6 years-ish
JHU: - 2nd in the country biomedical engineering (she is interested in that, along with mech) things like bionics is something she finds really interesting
I'm excluding the "we're gonna miss each other" part, but I want her to put her education and her aspirations before me.
From the start, she's liked both schools, as they both seem like really really good opportunities. Oh and also - her parents are willing to contribute about 10k per year to UW, and will probably do slightly more for JHU. Not covering all though, because 89k is a lot. She'd have to take out loans.
At this point, it's really about the cost, and the reward. Is the 89k a year worth it? She's also considered that at UW, she'll make it out of undergrad pretty much debt free, while saving up more during that time. NO financial aid from either school.
She's mostly scared that she's gonna miss out on a huge opportunity. So.. any advice, or has anyone gone through either of the programs?
Also - if this means anything as to what she can do, she got waitlisted at caltech. She didn't really apply to any of the Ivys, because she thought they were out of reach, and JHU was just one that she shot off an application to last second, just for the fun of it. She does regret not applying to other schools now, but that's a different occasion.

2024.05.15 06:04 Kitchen-Passage-6835 Positive Experience with Importation of Medicine (and Narcotics)

I recently arrived at Kansai International Airport on my first trip to Japan. I needed to take medication with me and not any light medication I had stimulants, psychotropics and Narcotics therefore I was really worried but turns out I did not need to be. I can imagine many people worry about taking their medications to Japan but if you apply and do the process by the book seems like no one really cares. Therefore I want to outline my process which allowed me to go through Immigration and Customs very smoothly. I applied about 1 Month In advance following the Guide on this website: https://www.ncd.mhlw.go.jp/en/application2.html
I send a Medical Certificate which included all my medical diagnoses and clearly stated why I need my Narcotic Medication (Morphine Sulfate) and also attached explanation regarding the daily Dosis after I received Questions about the reasons for the Dose of 900mg per Day or 27 Grams in total. I also provided an overview of other medications and filled out the application forms digitally but signed them personally after printing.
I also needed a Yunyu Kakunin-sho for my Methylphenidate and Diazepam as well as my Opipramol and Trimipramin I applied for 100 Tablets of Methylphenidate and 50 Tablets of each of the other medications. I also provided a Medical Certificate as well as detailed description of the Medication, which means Packaging, Producer and Generic Name as well as Dosage and Efficacy. I also presented my onwards Itinerary to prove I need the amount of medication.
In General I tried to have them as much Information as possible. Also I got Copy’s of the actual Prescription before leaving. I printed every application.
I received my Yunyu Kakunin-sh which I applied for on the 20.04 on the 22.04.
I applied for the Import Certificate on the 03.04 and needed to add documents on the 16.04 after they had questions regarding my diagnosis and the amount. I needed to completely renew the application via Email to the Osaka Narcotics Control Department. They were really supportive and helpful even though I got worried after not having received any documentation until a week before my Trip last week but they send me the approval documents 2 Nights before the start of my trip.
I assume that because of the huge amount of Morphine they considered my application very carefully which I actually appreciate.
What surprised me was the airport I had to check that I was carrying Narcotics and immigration didn’t even asked anything. And when I was at customs he also directly wanted to send me on my way. I was irritated I always thought that Japan has strict customs laws - I told him that I have Narcotics his demeanour changed a little to more serious showed him the certificate - the only wanted to see the first page of six pages and opens my bag to show him the medication he looked and give me a good to go. He did not count or verified any of the Medications - I know Japan is a trust based society but that was really surprising for me.
If you have any questions let me know :)

2024.05.15 05:48 thecortandthecat GE Application to Approval in 4 days

The people in my life barely know what Global Entry is so I was hoping to share my experience with a community that knows how LUCKY I got in this situation!!
Earlier this year I realized my passport has been expired for *almost* 5 years (didn't really have a reason or money to travel since before covid). After some research, I find out that I can still renew, but need to before five year mark. No problem, right? Not usually! Unless mono takes you out the month before the 5 year window closes.... Once I'm well enough I go and do all the passport chores and send in my info for a NEW passport (I missed my window due to illness). Sent passport in on 4/23, received 5/10 (expedited) and applied for Global immediately. Since it was a Friday I wasn't expecting to see conditional approval until midweek... but for whatever reason I got the email to schedule an interview at 2:40am Sunday 5/12. The first available was 6/5 so I went ahead took it. Something told me to check again on Sunday night. For whatever reason, several interview slots pop up in my city for this week! I snag one the morning of 5/14. This morning after my prints, the CBP officer approves me immediately and I will apparently see my card in the mail in a few weeks.
I can't believe how fast this whole thing went! Especially after seeing some stories on here as well as my MIL pending after applying several weeks ago! I have trips this summer and fall and thought I was really cutting it close after dragging my feet on renewal and then getting sick. I feel sooooo lucky to have this off my plate. Wishing all applicants a speedy process!!
TL;DR New passport app mailed - 4/23 Received - 5/10 GE app - 5/10 Conditional approval - 5/12 Interview + final approval - 5/14

Australian wages growth softens

Australian wage pressures undershot expectation in the March quarter, further denting the prospect of another rate hike from the Reserve Bank of Australia.
According to Australia’s Bureau of Statistics (ABS), wages rose 0.8% in the first three months of 2024, down a tenth on the 0.9% pace expected. The slight undershoot saw the annual growth rate slow to 4.1% from 4.2%. Markets were expecting an unchanged reading.
Taking inflation into account, real wages declined 0.08% over the quarter but rose 0.5% over the year.
Wages in the private sector grew 0.8% over the quarter, near double the 0.5% level seen for the public sector. Over the year, private sector wages rose 4.1% while those in the public sector increased 3.8%.

RBA rate hike risk lessens

The softer-than-expected data will be welcomed by policymakers at the Reserve Bank of Australia who stated earlier this month that wages growth looks to have peaked, helping limit the risk of a reacceleration in inflationary pressures.
It forecast the WPI would increase 4.2% in the year to June, so there are already downside risks to this view courtesy of today's report.

AUD/USD to be driven by US inflation report

AUD/USD dipped momentarily on the news before rebounding to where it was trading prior to the release.
Ahead of the key US CPI report later Wednesday, AUD/USD is sandwiched between uptrend support and horizontal resistance at .6640. While it’s been stuck in this narrow range for much of May, you get the sense that may change in the coming hours.
In terms of levels to keep an eye on pre and post the inflation report, AUD/USD has done a lot of work either side of .6586 recently, making that the first support level of note. Below, .6552, .652, .6484 and .6460 have seen buying in the past.
On the topside, a break of .6640 would open the door to a test of the March high of .6668 with .6730 the next level after that.

2024.05.15 03:47 Low_Key_6940 Passport renewal USA

I have to go out of town on June and my passport expired on March so I didn't really enter my renewal application until the end of April. I definitely recommend you sending the passport application yourself. I went online filled out the application, then printed it out. After that I went to a near Walgreens and took my passport photo. Then I had to get a money order since they only accept checks as a form of payment. Went to my nearest post office to buy a priority mail package to put all my forms in, including your expired passport, and then asked for it to be expedited. It is already halfway through the month and I received an email that my passport is being shipped and should be here in a few days. My sister did her renewal by setting up an appointment at the post office which usually their earliest appointments are a week or two far. And she still hasn't received a word back from them. So just go the extra mile and do it yourself, its much more worth it then having someone in the post office do it for you. Obviously this only applies to those who qualify to renew by mail.

Nikkei 225 faces crucial technical test as USD/JPY correlations go AWOL. May 15, 2024
By : David Scutt, Market AnalystJapan’s Nikkei 225 faces key technical test on Wednesday
  • Japan’s Nikkei 225 faces key technical test on Wednesday
  • USD/JPY grinds higher despite yield differentials compressing, an unusual development
  • BOJ intervention risk may be determined by speed of FX moves, not underlying market drivers
  • US CPI creates major event risk on Wednesday

Nikkei faces important technical test

Japan’s Nikkei 225 faces an important technical test, pushing back to towards a resistance zone it’s been unable to break for weeks. With risk appetite rampant and softer yen helping to juice the earnings outlook for exporters, if Nikkei bulls can’t reclaim the ascendancy today, when will they ever?
As discussed in a note late last week, the Nikkei’s recent performance has been anything but convincing from a technical perspective, attempting to push back towards record highs struck earlier in the year without really going anywhere. Volumes are declining and upside momentum lacks the impressive thrust seen earlier in the year. Curiously, the strong positive correlations with USD/JPY and US 10-year bond yields evident over recent years have vanished.
As seen on the daily, another roadblock frustrating bulls has been downtrend resistance running from the record highs, constantly thwarting attempts at topside breaks since late March. One failure after the next has seen futures slide and hold below the 50-day moving average, along with horizontal resistance at 38900.
However, over the past week, dips below 38000 have been bought, seeing bulls reset for another attempt at a bullish breakout today.

Nikkei 225 trade setups

I don’t have a strong view on directional risks, other than the price action has been unconvincing. But if futures were to pierce and hold above the downtrend, that would change the picture considerably. So, I wait to see how the price action evolves before deciding on the appropriate course of action.
Should futures fail again at the downtrend, shorts could be initiated with a stop above the level for protection. As noted, bids below 38000 have limited losses to this point, making that an appropriate initial trade target. Below, 37750 and 37000 are the next support level after that.
If futures were to break and hold above the uptrend, traders may want to consider initiating longs with a stop-loss order below the level for protection. 38900-38950 would be the first trade target, a zone including horizontal support and 50-day moving average. Should that go, there’s not a lot of resistance beyond 40000 before we’re back at record highs.
In both ideas, if the price action were to move in your favour, consider pushing your stops to entry level, providing a free hit.

Nikkei 225 correlation with USD/JPY breaks down

In what should fundamentally be helping the Nikkei, the Japanese yen continues to weaken against a basket of major trading partners including the United States, seeing USD/JPY move back towards the multi-decade highs struck in late April.
However, the strong daily correlation that previously existed between Nikkei and USD/JPY has gone AWOL over the past month, with no meaningful relationship evident. Contrast that to earlier this year where the two variables ran with correlations of more than 0.9 over a rolling one-month period.

USD/JPY upside no longer driven by widening yield differentials

Nor has prior strong positive relationship between USD/JPY and US bond yields reasserted itself with yen selling off hard despite yield differentials between the US and Japan compressing to levels not seen since the start of April. Earlier in the year, narrowing differentials would have weighed on USD/JPY but that’s not the case right now.

BOJ intervention risk determined by speed?

Following the suspected intervention episode (or episodes, although I’m not convinced about the second one) from the Bank of Japan on behalf of Japan’s Ministry of Finance, there has been no discernable escalation in concerns from policymakers about the renewed weakening in the yen.
The readthrough seems to suggest the government will only intervene to support the yen if the moves are deemed rapid, regardless of what’s happening with traditional underlying drivers. That opens the door for traders continue buying USD/JPY, building confidence the intervention threat will only become apparent if the move becomes disorderly.

US CPI to drive near-term directional risks

https://preview.redd.it/lnx5wu16qh0d1.png?width=1835&format=png&auto=webp&s=8ea753f7dbd2a014e6a5d37778e4997b26d6f509
You can see that mindset evident in the price action on the USD/JPY four hourly chart, gradually grinding higher after holding above key support at 152 last week. On the topside, resistance is likely to be encountered at 157 and 158, with a move beyond there opening the door to a retest of 160.22. Below, support is noted at 155.27, 154 and 152.
Even though the positive relationship between US bond yields has weakened recently, it’s highly likely Wednesday’s US consumer price inflation report will be highly influential on USD/JPY, with a hotter reading likely to promote further upside with an undershoot likely to do the opposite. As a reminder, the core inflation reading is likely to be more influential than the headline print. On that front, an increase of 0.3% is expected.

2024.05.15 01:39 McMezmer US mail timeline

I saw a few of these that were helpful so I thought I'd do one
My application was mailed out on the 13th of April from Florida and arrived in Gatineau on the 22nd of April (5 business days).
I was able to check the status of my passport starting on May 2nd (8 business days), at which point it said "we are now processing your application"
Today, May 14th, my passport arrived in the mail ( 8 business days). For a total of 16 business days, including shipping on their end.
Today was the first day my passport status changed from processing to printed and shipped. I checked on my lunch break and it still said processing then an hour later FedEx attempted delivery to my house. I checked out of curiosity after I had my passport in hand. I never received any communications from the passport office and had to request my application number myself.
Overall a simple process. I sent my expired passport just as a precaution and they sent it back with my new one although I didn't check the return box. I did get the new design. I used Staples as my photo location and my regular bank card for the payment. It came to about 190 US dollars.

2024.05.15 01:13 vrhelmutt My thoughts on pizzagate

Conspiracy theories involving “elite” pedophile rings have recently been dominating social media in a disorienting frenzy. They have been around for some time but in this century rose back to popularity during the 2016 Election cycle. This crop, at least, took root with what became known as “Pizzagate.”
Promoters of that conspiracy theory in 2016 used social media platforms to make unfounded but viral allegations that Hillary Clinton and other prominent Democrats were running a pedophile ring out of the basement of a pizzeria even though that restaurant had no basement, or any ties to known politicians other than the typical flesh pressing (Phrasing I know) moments fit for a picture hung on the wall.
Since then, the dark theme of Pizzagate has found new life with permutations forming part of the #Qanon conspiracy theory, incorporated under the umbrella term “pedogate.” The gist of the #pedogate conspiracy theory is that global elites (politicians, celebrities, and wealthy businesspersons) are covertly involved in a far-reaching ring that uses young children for sexual purposes.
“What most of these conspiracy theories involve in one way or another is laying accusations of pedophilia or involvement in pedophile rings at the feet of people that they despise or hate, and during the 16’ election cycle, Democrats were a wide target for an opposing political movement that had hijacked the rival Republican party. Pizzagate originated with the “alt right” and “alt lite,” far right extremists who range from outright white supremacists to those who publicly shun racists but otherwise fall in step with their belief systems.
Pizzagate jumped from the fringes to the mainstream because as it denigrated Hillary Clinton, it sucked in supporters of then-candidate Donald Trump.
After the election all mention of pedogate seemed to be put on a simmer while other National outrages boiled over (#Covid #RussiaGate #BLM) and just like clockwork (heading into our next election cycle has been turned back up.
The pedogate conspiracy and all associated stories employ a centuries-old tactic: playing on deep-seated human anxieties by conjuring images of imperiled children, the purest and defenseless victim of any manner of injustice.
An example in the modern era of weaponized conspiracy was the satanic panic of the 1980s, in which a wave of hysteria over alleged child molestation at daycare centers swept the nation. But while that phenomenon was a moral panic attributable, at least in part, to social anxiety over white middle class women entering the work force en masse for the first time and entrusting their children to others, the current conspiracy theories about pedophile rings equate to similar propaganda. They carry a danger for stirring up violence.
If you want to elicit violent action the way to do it is through hate and fear. Once you target and label a population as pedophiles, you can do anything you like to that population with full excuse being given to the myth you’ve wrapped around it.
That’s not to say fears of child abuse or sex trafficking are unfounded. There are many as pedophilia has ancient roots and in many cases was encourage by many world cultures and religions a lot later into Civilization than we’d like to admit. The International Labor Organization reports that 25 percent of the world’s 40.3 million victims of human trafficking are children.
The most vulnerable, according to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, are migrants, runaways, the homeless, and youngsters who have been victims of violence. Despite their obsession over the topic, conspiracy followers aren’t worked up about those children who are in true harm’s way.
In the world of propaganda, it’s never about real children. Instead, it’s about what children represent. The children imperiled by conspiracy theories, in other words, are only metaphors.
Children carry a vast amount of weight in any society, but especially modern ones when they’re expected to survive past the age of five. It wasn’t as intense before the 18th century when child mortality rates were really high. They represent the future, and all that is beautiful and decent and honest in a society, because they are innocent.
For most people also, the meaning of their existence is rooted in their children. Children are eschatological, they represent death for us, and what is coming behind us after we are gone. They also represent the threat of loss, if they disappear, if they die, that is the death of society. That’s why they became so crucial and central to Cold War propaganda. The real terror of the nuclear holocaust would be the death of the children, because that’s the death of everyone.
A recent example of this is in a recent police investigation into conspiracy claims of PizzaGate style accusation of Portland’s Voodoo Doughnuts. Detectives attempted to contact the person accusing Voodoo Doughnuts on social media of running a pedophile ring. The accuser did not cooperate with investigators and it’s been documented in other coverage online that they had become agitated and accused the Police with complicity when tracked down in person, even though they were attempting to investigate.
The pendulum of conspiracy theories about systematic child abuse has swung back and forth for centuries. Examples such as blood libel, when Jewish communities were attacked over false allegations of murdering and consuming Christian children in the Middle Ages.
In Europe, During the Thirty Years War, entire villages were put to the sword because it was believed they were abusing children of the other religions.
One characteristic that helps Pizzagate-style conspiracy theories gain popularity is that they function like a puzzle game and give its audience a large level of involvement through social media.
A lot of conspiracy theories are oracular, where the information comes from one source an oracle. Then there are others where there are a few people who promote the notions, almost like gurus or a conspiracy priesthood.
With Pizzagate, it’s more of what one would call a participatory conspiracy theory. Participatory conspiracy theories lay out a scenario or situation and then they ask their audience, ‘what more can you find out about this, what more can you add?’ It turns the audience into willing participants, some knowing they are creating a destructive madlib and other (potential real victims) caking on mystical distraction to issues that have been unreported or scars that have not bee properly treated.
The thing about participatory conspiracy theories is it can really create a devoted following because it gives people something to do, it makes them feel they can solve the whole thing or uncover new aspects to it. Once you get that energy going it’s almost self-sustaining. Followers of the Qanon conspiracy theory, call themselves “bakers” because their protagonist “Q” pops up on Internet message boards and leaves “crumbs” (i.e., clues), and they are tasked with picking up the crumbs in order to solve the puzzle. (“Q” is supposed to reference the character’s government security clearance level).
*#Q followers believe an even more incoherent version of Pizzagate. This is largely a right-wing fantasy that originated in a series of incoherent posts on #4chan in 2017 by someone calling themselves #QAnon. Following on the heels of similar idiocy such as Pizzagate, it advances a fantastic web of deceit that wraps up Trumpism, deep state fearmongering, evil, satanic pedophilia rings controlled by the Democratic Party, investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 US election, the Las Vegas shooting, and New World Order paranoia into a package easily and wholeheartedly promoted by internet cesspools and far-right personalities such as Alex Jones.
The premise is that President Trump is secretly working to take down a global ring of elite, cannibalistic, satanic pedophiles. And the investigation into Russian meddling into the 2016 election, led by former FBI director Robert Mueller, is actually an investigation into the so-called “deep state”, where a cabal of evil, globalists, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, are responsible for everything from a global pedophile ring to the mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017.
According to the enlightened, when Trump awkwardly took a drink from a bottle of Fiji water at a press conference in November 2017, it wasn’t because he was thirsty; it was actually a secret signal to those in the know that the annihilation of deep state pedophiles had begun (or was about to begin). Because as everyone knows, Fiji is a hot spot for child trafficking.* ( I could go on and on with this poorly thought-out shit, I will spare you )
The role the Internet and social media play in helping to spread such insanity can’t be underestimated. Just a few decades earlier, conspiracy theorists would identify each other using letters to the editor printed in newspapers and magazines. It was a lot harder to identify your fellow conspiracy theorists. You would have to physically meet to swap your stories or send letters or call. They would set up these groups that would communicate by newsletter. They would meet in a physical space, like someone’s living room.
I personally witnessed people from my childhood, dutifully photocopying newsletters they had received in the mail to give to others (Primarily at my #JW congregation, how ironic). Now obviously it can go much more quickly, because you can identity people immediately. You can quickly share ideas and the data you’ve collected.
The Internet allows such people to exist in bubbles where they rarely have their beliefs challenged. The extraordinarily polarized society we’re in right now has made people less willing to seek out other view points. Because of the internet you have less chance of doing this.
There’s very little incentive to look outside one’s own bubble once they have become invested in a conspiracy theory. Once you start to act out on those behaviors you are forced to double down by repeating the act to prove it was a just act. Eventually you get caught up in a movement that totally defines your conscious and you can’t get out of it. The second you step out of that world view your actions go back to being reprehensible.
Now the question becomes, “What’s the harm? If it sheds light on child abuse, then isn’t it still productive?” The answer in this case is a resounding NO. In my opinion and PAINFUL experience, the root cause and sustaining factors of institutionalized child sex abuse are all things that would counter your typical Conspiracy Nut’s world view, thus causing a complete blackout to the problems.
The entity taking part in the harming of children on a local and tangible level aren’t some suit and tie wearing global elitist. It’s a guidance counselor, youth pastor, unvetted young substitute teacher, aunt/uncle/cousin/neighbor.
It’s anyone who has been given routine private access to a child’s mind and body because of the social conventions that have been protected for generations by our relatives whether they themselves are guilty of abuse or not.
In all the Qanon madness I also kept very close tabs on the pending prosecution of the Boy scouts of America and never saw any widely shared memes about their involvement in the abuse syndicate.
Why is this? How is this so? Aren’t these people watching the news, seeing the court records and hearing the individual cases being brought against Scout Leaders (SOME OF WHO RAN THEIR OWN NETWORKS!!)?
When I would find mention of accusation it was met with the ever scarce “skepticism” because if the media is covering it, it must be a plot to destroy the organization. There are now non-for profit organizations setting up victim funds and protections for people to come out with their stories and somehow THIS is the fake ruse.
Some that know me know that I was a Jehovah’s Witness as a youth/teen/young adult. That chapter of my life could fill many chapters and the research on the organization, the real true black and white history of the religion would honestly surprise you. I saw what I now know was abuse, I personally experienced abuse in many forms. The perpetrators involved are either still Witnesses or are dead or have moved “away from the organization”.
One thing that was left intact in each situation was the secret that they prey on children. The parents, these organizations and the collective promise to keep up appearances are directly to blame for the suffering untold thousands, millions of children and broken adults.
All for what? Pride and Vanity and a commitment to all involved to protect them from the “mean old world” despite allowing predators to eat their children from within.
Being a #JW was a very interesting experience. It provides a very efficient form of insulation from outside society and allows people involved to view the chaos from afar. There is this persistent (albeit false) sense of shared peace that members have. It’s as though for three days a week you go to this meeting where no matter what, everyone has a smile and feels about things EXACTLY how you do. There is no cursing, there are no politics, there surely isn’t any destructive influences that would tarnish your chances of salvation. For a parent this is a refuge when raising a child in a world that is dangerously unpredictable.
A Child that you are unable (or unwilling) to teach coping skills to get along by societal standards, A child you want to protect by hiding. This is problem #1.
As an adult the congregation presents an avenue for which you can act and behave in a way that allows you to reconcile your past, a way to have less of those nights awake because you think about past wrongs you’ve committed against people. It’s the proverbial band-aid for a guilty, bruised, destroyed conscious of any size. Coming into the organization takes nothing more than the desire to change, publicly declaring your willingness to hand over your life to God (The organization). Bam, You’re in! No credit check, no background check. This is problem #2.
A JW is taught that “every facet is an asset” (Ministerial Servants know what I’m talking about). What this means is that every facet of your life is an asset to the organization to spread its word. If the world see’s their product’s application into your life and thereby how much better it is than a normal person’s, then they’ve made an “Effective Witness” to the world. This causes Witnesses of any age to allow almost every facet of their life to be a tool by the organization. For a parent this includes their children. This is problem #3.
When you get a culture that insulates itself from the real world, that allows you to enter without any coherent vetting, give access to children whose parents feel obligated to present as a “witness” to the lifestyle. You get a twisted corridor in which victims can get lost for a lifetime and predators can hide in plain sight.
For any proponents of the “Save-The-Children” movement to not take a step back and really analyze their local community and lifestyle through these lenses only illustrates that child abuse is being weaponized politically at the expense of others whom you aren’t willing to save because it would look bad for ‘your side’. If you truly care, you wouldn’t be sharing email forwards about what evil unverified unmentionable thing you read some celebrity or politician did. Instead, you’d be drawing back on your experiences as a child.
Even if nothing happened directly to you, I’m sure you know some one that had an experience that forever harmed their life. Who did it? Was there a pattern or social condition that allowed for this as was laid out in the JW example?
How could it have been avoided? Would you have stopped it if you saw the signs? Are you willing to stop it in the future, knowing what you know now?
If you can answer any of those questions with a yes, then you have all you need to WRITE your own material to reach real victims and their families. Does your action cause problems for your ‘side’? It shouldn’t matter and you know that. If it does make a difference to you then you are no better than the shadowy pedophilic cabal that you are so obsessed with.

2024.05.14 22:29 Drillimation The Challenges of Putting Mario in a Touhou Project Fangame

I'm a person who's been involved in the video game industry for six years, and I've created multiple Touhou Project fangames, including the Touhou Project NES Demakes, Touhou Meijinka ~ Song of Divine Tempest, and the recently-released Touhou Kourinden ~ Mythos of Phantasmagoria.
A lot of people are thinking about what would happen if the most popular character in the video game world, Super Mario, starred in his own Touhou Project fangame for one of Nintendo's platforms. It may be possible, but there are a lot of caveats for both worlds (or even attempting to merge the two).
Are there any other caveats that I left out? Let me know in the comments.
If an indie developer wants to work with Nintendo on a project, whether they have contacted Nintendo directly or by sending their team a demo or prototype, they would usually enter into a contractual relationship after Nintendo inspects the demo, conducts market research, and discusses it with their producers.

2024.05.14 21:58 Euphoric-Earth-4765 An inside look at the culture and ideology of Faith Comes By Hearing PART 1

If you are thinking about working at or if you are thinking about donating to Faith Comes By Hearing/Hosanna [https://www.faithcomesbyhearing.com](https://www.faithcomesbyhearing.com/) you should consider the following. Having worked at Faith Comes By Hearing myself for decades, you should be aware of their culture and ideology. (Arranged from most important to least.)

\*Treatment of the Bible:

Grammatical, historical and cultural context as well as literary genre are all ignored by top management. So, Scripture is often misquoted and misused:

Ignoring basic, common sense guidelines, rules for interpreting the Bible results in misinterpreting, misunderstanding, and misapplying the Bible. Management ignores the fact that observation (what the text says) must always come before interpretation (what the text means); and interpretation always comes before application (how the text applies to me). They do not consider the Bible text objectively first: They treat the text subjectively or relatively or assume what the passage text means. And they ignore the fact that a text cannot mean today what it never could have meant to the original authors and original readers. Exegesis is often contrasted with “eisegesis”; the Greek preposition εἰς means “into,” and hence eisegesis means reading your own meaning into the text. Bible study is not reading your personal theology into some biblical passage. Bible study is letting the text talk to us; we are the listeners, not the talkers. Many Christians just want to know what the Bible “means to me.” If you stop to think about it, this just is not possible. We must do the hard work of learning the author’s original meaning first, and without that we can’t ever know “what it means to me.” A text cannot mean what it never meant.

\*Feelings and experiences rule:

There is a focus by top management on personal experiences and feelings instead of a studied period of reflection: Emotional, simple, popular teaching instead of intellectually careful and doctrinally precise teaching. Bible studies go straight to the question, “What does this passage mean to me?” while bypassing the prior question, “What does the passage say and why do I think my interpretation is correct?” Management promotes and allows employees to get away with applying an understanding of a passage that is based on vague feelings or first impressions and not on the hard work of reading the context, verifying with commentaries and using study tools such as concordances, Bible dictionaries, and the like because a careful exercise of reason is not important in understanding what the Bible actually says for management. Besides, it takes work! For management, Christianity is identified with subjective feelings, sincere motives, personal piety, and blind faith. Management tests the truth not by a careful application of our God-given faculties of thought, or even by biblical mandates (for example, 2 Corinthians 10:5), but rather by private subjective experiences. For the most part, theoretical reason is just not part of the culture at FCBH. In fact, top management will often spiritualizing normal, everyday things like advice, facts, common knowledge:

Example during a meeting, the CEO said he saw a full moon, then clouds formed & covered the moon, then clouds dissipated. He then said he felt God say: "I can turn nothing into something; something into nothing; turn this ministry into something & if it goes thick & blocks Jesus; it has to diminish.”

So, personal, subjective experiences that top management shares equals truth that employees must agree with or at least accept as true.

Also, time is money, but management uses their mandatory meetings to discuss controversial or complex topics (e.g., fasting, communion, tithing, personal stewardship of money, helping the homeless, how to create more interaction with remote workers, how to retain employees, how to hire more Gen Z employees, past trauma), most of which are unrelated to the actual work. Then they ask employees (most of which have no authority to get things changed/done) what their opinion is about the controversial or complex topic, instead of consulting with professionals or experts.

So, top management will read a bible verse (not a paragraph, not a chapter, a verse; usually out of context) using a version of the Bible that is almost a paraphrase. Then share something personal that happened to them, something they did or saw or experienced or a personal conviction that is not related to the verse. Then explain how they felt about it, how they interpreted it. Then they will ask employees (especially internationals) to share similar experiences. And, then if no one shares or comments or speaks, management makes employees feel guilty: Along the lines of “So, God is not working in your life?”

Example: “I felt God give me this verse about gossip. Let me share with you some personal stories about gossip…. This is how I see it. Now, in the last 5 min of our time, I want people to share. I especially want input from internationals. Does anyone have anything to say about this? No, one? Is God not speaking to you? How can God not be moving and speaking? This is unreal….”

Top management will often use a reader response or subjective biblical interpretation: “This is what I think this verse means. What do you think this verse means? What stood out to you? What did you learn? What is God asking you to apply?” This is a very self-centered way to interpret Scripture. The focus is all about you. What you think. What you feel. But, “The Bible is not about you.” - Timothy Keller. And this leads to people looking at the same verse and coming up with completely different interpretations. Everybody seems to have an opinion on what the Bible says/teaches.

So, instead of discovering what the original author said to the original readers. They will take Biblical concepts (e.g., called to ministry; felt led by the Spirit; God spoke to me; felt peace) and then add new meanings to them which the original author did not intend. This is dangerous since it leaves employees with doubt, disillusionment, disappointment, discouragement, and false hope and can leave them with unmet, unrealistic, and false expectations. Top management will also take subjective, unclear biblical principles or non-essentials, or personal convictions and make them scriptural authority and then judge other Christians who do not agree. They will treat the Proverbs as promises. They will also not make an effort to distinguish between Biblical principles and practices which are relative, time bound, culturally subjective, Biblically illustrated (not commanded). They will often make hasty generalizations. They will beg the question. They will commit special pleading, dictionary simpliciter, reductive, faulty analogy and many other fallacies. They will also allegorize promises in Scripture and spiritualize all principles. They assume that all historical narratives have individual identifiable moral application. God’s word should be taught clearly, not in a distorted manner. Top management will proof text and use religious words to promote their agenda.

And top management will encourage others to have this view/philosophy of Bible interpretation. Many incorrectly interpret the Bible and do not even realize it.

I pray to God that this bad method of interpretation is not being taught to internationals, to people who have never had bibles, who do not have biblical discernment, who don't know any better.

\*Inductive Bible study and internationals:

Hermeneutics has been defined as the science and art of biblical interpretation. Hermeneutics helps us understand the Bible. It is a science because there are specific rules the interpreter must follow. It is an art because it takes years of practice to develop the ability to employ those rules properly. There is a difference between a novice and a seasoned interpreter. Hermeneutics has two basic steps, finding what the text meant to its original audience, and then seeing how it applies to our current situation. Unfortunately, many people (Americans included), impose their own personal experiences, theology, and modern culture on to the Biblical text.

Fortunately, God has allowed us (especially Americans) to have Bible dictionaries, commentaries, handbooks, atlases, etc., to help us with correct hermeneutics, to understand the essential historical and cultural information - the context of the original author and readers of the Bible. We have tools that shed light on the text and help us to arrive at the correct interpretation. When you read a commentary, it will provide checks and balances against your possible mistakes. They can answer questions that a reading of the text can never provide or ask questions that you may never think of asking. Unfortunately, many international people groups do not have access to these tools (or even access to mature, trained, and experienced Christians and pastors). And even if they do have access to resources, they may not know how to use them properly (i.e., limitations of commentaries).

Grammatical-Historical Method or Inductive Bible study can easily be done with printed or digital Bibles. But how can a person do this with audio and video Bibles? This is critical especially for international people groups that do not have access to (and may never have) print Bibles.

False gospels and heresies are popular in illiterate people groups because they are not taught discernment or how to evaluate Scripture and the thoughts of others for themselves. People with ulterior motives misuse Scripture and end up influencing the illiterate.

If these Bible Films and audio Bibles are considered to be actual Bible Translations – video and audio translations of the Bible and the equivalent to and sometimes a replacement for print scripture – then should we also make it a point to teach people who are watching and listening to our video and audio Bible translations Biblical hermeneutics (historical-grammatical interpretation)? How to study the Bible properly for themselves?

My experience has been that many non-Christians (and Christians) misquote or misinterpret the Bible because they do not know how to actually read and study it on their own to find out what the text actually meant to the original author and audience and seeing how it applies to their current situation.

There are many ways to study the Bible, and there are many excellent study aids available to help you with specific books of the Bible. But the most important thing you need to remember is that to find out what the Bible says, you need to read it yourself in a way that will help you discover what it says, what it means, and how you are to apply it to your life. And the best way to do this is through the process called inductive study. Inductive study doesn’t tell you what the Bible means or what you should believe. Instead, it teaches you a method of studying God’s Word that can be applied to any portion of Scripture at any time.

Inductive Bible study draws you into personal interaction with the Scripture and thus with the God of the Scriptures so that your beliefs are based on a prayerful understanding and legitimate interpretation of Scripture.

\*Artistic freedom concerns:

Another concern is with the artistic freedom or personal preference when it comes to audio and video Bible media (when these function as replacements for print Scripture). How much can be taken before you compromise the historical accuracy or the meaning and understanding of the original message? A good translation must be faithful to the historical situation and not change the cultural background. In Bible Translation, the translator’s first job is to study the text carefully to discover the correct meaning (what the original author wanted to communicate). Do international people groups understand that the “artistic freedom” (e.g., how the film is lit, the key shots, angles it shoots from, close-ups, point of view, sets, locations and props, editing, the dialogue and the actors’ performance and emotions, wardrobe choices, soundtrack, visual transitions, reference shots), the visuals and sound, are all NOT inspired?

Biblical and Orthodox Christianity teaches that All Scripture (not just some) is inspired by God who utilized the human element within man to accomplish this without error. The very WORDS (not just the ideas, even parts of letters, and sometimes the tense of verbs) are a result of the mind of God expressed in human terms and conditions. The Bible IS fully true in all that it teaches or asserts to be true (including historical and scientific matters). Only the original documents (autographs) are completely free from error. Does FCBH make an effort to explain this to people groups? If not, then there will be conflict when the visuals and sounds that are added do not match the Biblical text. There will be confusion, doubt, disillusionment, disappointment, discouragement, false hope when people are confronted with unmet, unrealistic, and false expectations.

So, using audio and especially video as Bibles should come with some teaching of the basic principles of film criticism, the doctrine of inspiration (difference between artistic freedom and the Word of God), and inductive Bible study or Bible interpretation.

\*Communicating the truth:

They employ a presuppositional and fideistic/experiential approach to evangelism: In the many testimonies that are shared, many of the people who receive the audio bibles say they believe in Jesus because FCBH gave them bibles that are in their native language. Makes you wonder what would happen if the audio was from the Quran or book of Mormon. Would they believe in anything as long as it was in their own language? FCBH does not seem to make sure people are actually believing facts. There seems to be no appeals to evidence and reason for the truthfulness of the Christianity. One should become a Christian and believe that Jesus is God because it is true (from reason, historical evidence, archaeological evidence, theistic arguments) and not because the Bible one reads is in a certain language. You should follow Jesus because He is God and proved it; not because He speaks your language.

\*Hearing from God?

Many in management practice “hearing from God” and then claim God said something specific and personal to them and to the ministry. This practice uses God's name in vain. And often use God to avoid personal responsibility - “I heard from God; God told me; I felt led; God spoke to me…” They then put what happens on God, so they avoid any personal responsibility if it does not come to pass. They make Christianity out to be personal, private, and a matter of “how I feel about things.” Many Christians actually feel spiritually sub-standard and defeated because for them “the heavens have been silent”. This can be debilitating, and it’s profoundly unfair to employees if their only shortcoming is entertaining a false expectation of what a relationship with God entails. Conversations are often littered with casual references to one’s latest revelations without any sense of the gravity of the assertion, or any sense of responsibility to justify the claim. Even Jesus Himself didn’t presume to speak for God without compelling evidence. But, management takes personal opinions and spiritualize them as if they were God’s word to give divine authority to impulses or thoughts that drift through their minds. To say “God is telling me” gives feelings an authority the Scripture does not justify and virtually ends debate. You can’t argue with the person if God supposedly gave the command. Trusting inner feelings is not biblical. It’s confusing at best, and dangerous at worst.

And with certain requests from employees, when top management does not want to do something, they will respond by saying things like: “I need to pray about it first. Sorry, I do not feel led. I need to get confirmation first. I need to have peace about it first. I need to hear from God first.” But with other things, with things they want to do, they do not need to pray about it first, do not need to feel led, do not need to get confirmation first, do not need to have a peace about it first, do not need to hear from God first. When management does not want to do something, they pass the responsibility off to God (“We cannot…. because God didn’t tell us to do it. Didn't get confirmation.”); but when they do want to do something, they don't seek God and do what they want (“We have decided and are going to… and we don’t need to ask God for guidance or permission”).

2024.05.14 20:19 Due_Entertainment425 341 was today and continued

So the 341 went mostly perfect compared to others but the US Trustees office was on there asking about my student loan statements and my attorney had already sent them what info I had. My loan servicer doesn’t due typical monthly statements but I was able to print off histories and balances.
Apparently it got assigned to the US Trustee last minute and he asked for a continuance to work with my attorney on the info he needs so we now have another date 30+ days out but my attorney doesn’t think it’s likely another hearing will be needed then because they’ll have it figured out by that time.
I’m wanting to change jobs and was wondering if I’m fairly safe to start putting in applications now or should I wait until after the next hearing?

2024.05.14 17:46 Help_me_plz_i_beg Printing high/low temp gaskets

Has anyone had any experience with trying to print gaskets with your printer? Things like head, oil pan, and rear-end gaskets that both hold in oil and have a hot environment. If so, what filament did you use? I haven’t attempted it yet because I’m not sure if it could out perform gasket maker that is designed for these applications. The engineer side of me is just curious if there is anything out there that would work and if it would be more efficient than gasket maker.
