2024.04.29 06:19 uhhyeahseatbelts Seeking Guidance on Additional HDD Brackets for Fractal Design North Case

I'm building an Unraid-based NAS in a Fractal Design North case and need additional brackets for my hard drives. Fractal seems to lack compatible brackets for the North/North XL models, even though the North XL is new. I've found references to bracket types (A-D) on their website, but compatibility with the North is unclear.
I've seen a post about using the Phanteks - Stackable 3.5" HDD Bracket Duo Pack Cases (PH-HDDKT_03), but I prefer a bracket that fits the case's mount holes, which Phanteks won't.
Are there compatible third-party brackets for the North/North XL models, DIY modifications, or even custom solutions like 3D printed brackets? I'm open to all secure mounting options and would appreciate any advice from those who have secured extra hard drives in a Fractal Design North case or similar.
To be clear, this is what I am looking for:

I really like their design and can imagine they would be relatively easy to fabricate, so I don't fully understand why Fractal Design would not just stock thousands of them and sell at a tidy profit.

2024.04.29 06:04 Hot-Job8606 Electro and co what went wrong?

Feedback to e&c after my kit for the razor mx650 broke. Well well well, after around 2 months of waiting my 2.1 ultimate kit arrived (issue number 1) after arrival I had to cut the frame to put my battery in, no biggie right? Nope. The tool I need is an extra 200 dollars. (Please make the batter fit in the stock tray). (Issue 2). After riding a bit my controller starts beeping I have no idea why. I sent it in for repair and it turns out nothing was wrong 😑. Issue 3, was working on the bike and I tried to unplug a connection and the wires fell out (durability). Issue 4, I had the most minor crash ever didn’t even get a scratch, and the zip ties they told me to use to secure the controller broke causing the exposed phase connections to hit the battery. My controller is fried and this could have ended much worse. Like where is the metal mounting bracket for the Kelly bruh. Wayyy too many issues to deal with to call it plug and play. If these 4 issues were fixed I think this would be an awesome kit but unless your street riding you will 100% have issues. I really wanted to like this kit but too many things can go wrong. Until they have an in person location to get help from just buy an already built bike.

CPU cooler brackets and backplate aren’t tight.
Installed my CPU cooler and noticed it wasn’t tight. Took a look at the back plate and saw the screws for the mounting bracket were nowhere close to this backplate.

2024.04.29 00:44 maple-smith Full Ek steering column swap and RSX wheel writeup!

Full Ek steering column swap and RSX wheel writeup!
I didn’t take as many photos I should have but I can take more at ppls request if needed. As most people know you’re very limited with steering wheel options as the splines were changed on all other hondas after the EK. To add wheels such as the RSX steering wheel to the integra we must swap over the column of out any EK civic. The splines going into the rack are the exact same and they’re the same length so this swap is very easy.
You will need: -Working Integra steering column lock cylinder, clock spring, and stalks. -EK civic steering rack, make sure to get the nut for the steering wheel as it is different than the DC2/4 chassis. -Steering wheel of choice, I believe EK, DC5, and s2k fit but likely more aswell.
Start by removing your current column completely from the car. After it’s removed and out of the take off the stalks and their units, the clock spring, and the hardest part your lock cylinder. By factory they have snap off tamper proof bolts. The solution is to cut a slit in the tops of them with a dremel to be able to use a flat head screw driver for removal. Mine weren’t seized or on too tight and came off easily on both racks.
Mount the lock cylinder onto the EK rack, I reused the bolts and tightened with a flathead. After this we can screw in the stalk unit to the EK stalk mounting bracket, they had to be swapped as the Integra has a rear wiper. Install our new rack into the car, plug in all the connectors and add the clock spring.
RSX wheel install: To install the RSX wheel we have a major problem with the airbag, it’s dual stage (4wires compared to the two on the DCiuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uhh uuyygj). The solution is to CAREFULLY undo the high power ingnitor and wire it to the connector to the DC clock spring. Unfortunately forgot to take photos of this. I do not endorse this but i sent it.
Re-install wheel and voila! Leave questions in the comments and I’ll answer them as best as I can.

2024.04.29 00:13 reed12321 Update #2 on my cargo bike build!

Update #2 on my cargo bike build!
I have made a lot of progress since my last post a little over 2 weeks ago.
  1. Brazed the head tube for the 20” fork in place
  2. Brazed the gussets for the main frame
  3. Ordered and received a 28.6mm steerer tube. I brazed a crown race seat on it for the headset that mounts to the steering column.
  4. Made the bracket/mount that attaches to the steerer tube under the crown race. The steering linkage attaches to this.
  5. Brazed the steering bracket to the steerer tube.
  6. Made the corresponding bracket that will attach to the fork and brazed it to the fork.
  7. Got the steering linkage figured out. I bent a long piece of steel tubing, brazed coupling nuts inside the tubing, made more brackets and other attachment pieces.
  8. Brazed some cable guides
  9. Got the brakes hooked up and bled
  10. Installed the drivetrain
  11. Reamed the seat tube so I can take advantage of the full depth. The hope is that my wife will ride this bike sometimes and she is very short. So we need to be able to adjust the seat height for someone who is 5’0 and someone who is 5’10.

Blower Motor Mount Type
I am replacing the blower motor on a Rheem/Rudd unit. I ordered a replacement but there are no holes for the mounting brackets. Is this a common issue due to age of unit and I have to buy a different clap style bracket or do I need to go back and get a motor with mounting holes in it. **see pictures for reference.

2024.04.28 23:42 Ok_Rub249 Ideas on mounting cantilever umbrella to 6x6 post

Ideas on mounting cantilever umbrella to 6x6 post
Hi everyone, my wife and I are looking at getting a cantilever umbrella for our patio, but I'm not in love with the size of the base. Ideally, I'd like to mount one on the 6x6 post in the left of the first picture. It would also be nice to rotate it under the balcony when not in use.
I'm having a hard time finding a product like this.
Amazon sells a bracket (second pic) that would work, but it only accepts up to a 2" pole, and every decent cantilever umbrella has a larger, non round pole- so I dont see this working.
An umbrella like the one in the third picture would be ok, but all the ones like that I can find are only 8', and we would like something more like 10-12'.
Does anyone have any ideas, or can point me in the right direction here?
Thanks!

2024.04.28 23:37 chgoeditor Drill-less front plate bracket for a 2024 540i?

From what I understand, if you live in Chicago (or Evanston), you will get ticketed if you're driving without a front plate-- and the ticket is apparently $200+. (I loved a comment on an earlier thread by someone who said, "If you live in any town in Illinois not named Chicago you're fine...")
Sho N Sto and Sly Brackets don't have mounts for the 540i. Any other suggestions?

2024.04.28 21:18 0Tyrael0 Retro Alienware Build

Hard to believe but it's been over 20 years since this came out. Got this from my friend growing up who bought it new. He gave it to me about 10 years ago and it's just been sitting. Came time for a new PC and I thought... What if, I used this!?
At some point I'll paint the outside the original color just to make it look new. But it looks decent.
For those of you who don't know this is from roughly 2002. It had a modem in it if that tells you how old this is. If you don't know what a modem is then this case might be older than you.
Hope you all like it!

Purchased the string trimmeedger kit on special buy and now need to figure out how to store it. I purchased the hangers for the attachments but not sure what to do about the head unit. Is there a mount or bracket that everyone is using? I saw what looked like a slot in the back of it for a nail mount. Anyone using that? Don’t know how well that would hold up. Thanks for the input.

2024.04.28 16:55 dlavesl More parts than expected in the O11D EVO RGB anti sag bracket box

I expected to find the 2 metal stud/spacers, the bracket with the numbering on it, 2 screws and the thumb tool. But I also got all the stuff to the right of the bracket (orange), and I'm having trouble finding any instructions for how to use it. There was also a T shaped metal bracket and a screw that seemed to fit perfectly on the numbered bracket, so it's mounted in the pic (red).

2024.04.28 16:54 RabbitEducational628 Macbook Pro M1 Max. Docking Station, 3 external displays

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this community and currently searching for a one-cable solution for my three-monitor setup with my MacBook Pro M1 Max. I typically use my MacBook in clamshell mode while working. Essentially, I'm seeking a docking station that I can either mount under my desk (although this isn't a strict requirement, as I could potentially 3D print a bracket). This docking station needs to support all three of my monitors. My budget is around 200 euros. Here's the breakdown of my monitor setup: two 2K Dell screens and one 5K LG Ultrawide (model LG 34WK95U).
I'm open to suggestions and advice. Additionally, are there any caveats or potential issues I should be aware of? I've been considering the Dell WD22TB4, but I was taken aback by the number of problematic posts I found regarding it.

2024.04.28 16:54 GhostlyParsley V&H Twin Slash w/ Forward Controls

Hey guys. Hoping someone out there can sound off if they have both the V&H Twin Slash and a forward control kit installed. Don't need any details, just want to confirm it's possible. Reason why I ask is the Twin Slash features a different mounting bracket for the right-side foot controls, which includes a heat shield to protect the brake line from the exhaust. Curious if it's compatible with a forward control kit. Since they're both relatively popular mods I assume there's SOMEONE out there who's done both with their Bolt, but nothing's coming up on Google.

2024.04.28 16:09 Trent-Creates Highly Recommend MPix for Canvas Prints

Although they’re pretty pricey I’m actually very impressed with the quality. The canvas itself almost feels like leather, very thick with great texture. The subframe is super solid with a very strong backing. They also come ready to mount with quality brackets/hangars.
Shipping was 8/10, would’ve liked to see some bubble wrap for safe measure but they used very thick cardboard to essentially create a mini crate for each of my canvases.
Also, when you sign up you get a 25% off entire purchase coupon which is super awesome. Went from around $150 to $116 after taxes.
I also want to say I am not sponsored nor will I probably ever be. I was just stuck for awhile looking for good quality (local shops don’t offer canvas printing unfortunately) and after researching a few different sites I finally pulled the trigger with MPix.
I’m happy, my customeclient is happy. Hell yeah MPix.

2024.04.28 12:52 Godlyweeb_ Guys, what is a 'mounting bracket'?

So I came across these open-box mobos on newegg that are pretty good deals. There's an Asrock Z690 pro RS for $72 and an Asrock B660M pro RS for $77. Now both of them say 'Dedicated LGA1700 mounting bracket required.' What does that mean and should I buy them?

Is this Z axis stiffening brace worth printing @ 8.5hrs 356g?
Or is there any other even easier method or is this actually the cheapest since it's really no more than about 5 dollars in filament and 1 overnight print?
I read in the comments of an alternative version with heat inserts that this official version can be used with the bolts that hold down your bed that you take out when you first unbox the A1, and so we already have the 4 screws needed to secrew these in place right?
Im planning to just use this plate and not tye rest of the a1 top mount adapter, and hope it works well to stop vibration shakes etc
