2024.05.16 05:19 TriviaGalore93 Top 10 NBA players for each letter of the alphabet

The origins of this list came about when the Denver Nuggets won the NBA chip last year. I asked my bball group chat if winning the NBA chip made Jamal the best NBA player named Jamal/Jamaal. I then made this list:
Jamal Murray Jamal Crawford Jamal Mashburn Jamaal Magloire Jamaal Tinsley
After some research we learned about Jamaal Wilkes and then we made Tinsley an honorable mention.
With the NBA playoffs coming, I thought I tried to do something similar but on a much larger scale and share it with the NBA subreddit community.
I'm not sure if such a list has been done before. If it has, please send me the link to it so I can read it.
Also this is how I came up with the list. The list is not in any specific order per letter. Its more like the first name for each letter is the first name I thought of. Whenever I have trouble finishing up the list, I go to Google and basketball reference. I indicate when I do so.
The list is done by first name and not last. So for example, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will fall under K and not A. The other thing is players will be listed by their actual given name and not nicknames. For example, magic Johnson will be under I for Earvin "magic" Johnson.
Please let me know what you think about the list and let me know what players you feel I missed. Also let me know which letter has the best NBA players.

2024.05.16 05:18 gimageggrie How do you follow a routine/bedtime??

I’m trying to implement a routine for my 4.5 mo and I’m having a really hard time. I know it’s nearly impossible to follow a routine/schedule perfectly every single day, so I look for my baby’s cues and try to pay attentions to wake windows especially.
Right now we’re working with 1.5 hours, 1.5-2 hours, 2 hours, 2 hours, 2-2.5 hours. But sometimes he’ll only nap for 30-40 minutes and have shorter wake windows. While other times he’ll sleep for 2 hours and will only need 3 naps instead of 4.
Today for example, his first two naps were 40 minutes long and his last nap was nearly 2 hours. We shoot for a 9/930pm bedtime (he does better with later bedtimes) but by the time his last WW was over it was only 8pm. So we started our routine, he slept for 30 minutes and took literally an hour to get back down. Should we have had another full WW and put him to bed around 10pm?
I guess I’m just curious how you shoot for the same bedtime every night if naps and WWs can be so random and inconsistent throughout the day.

Managers and crew.. what works for you more?
Example: 1. I need some bacon down now/soon or drop bacon aka a command
Or
  1. We need bacon, when are you going to drop bacon? Or posing a question that provokes an answer
(I thought of this cuz my grandmother randomly said, when are you going to get the dishes done and it made me mad.. but it also made me get up immediately and do the dishes. It also gave me an opportunity to say shortly or when I finish blah blah..)

2024.05.16 05:17 Edible_Philosophy29 Prophetic Fallibility

Prophetic Fallibility
Mormonr recently published an article on prophetic fallibility. Attached is a table from the article.
I am curious what thoughts you all have on assumptions A & B in the table & their list of conclusions (1-4).
I'm particularly interested in what you think of conclusion #2. Although conclusion #2 is what I currently identify with for the most part, I feel that #2 is not a view that is really supported/encouraged by current church leadership (for example, Elder Oaks recently stating that there is no warrant for "loyal opposition" when it comes to church leaders). If you see conclusion #2 as valid, what might this look like in practice?

2024.05.16 05:16 throwawaymyfeelins29 What repair costs should a landlord cover vs a tenant

In a bit of a situation with our landlord. We have a 2-year lease at this home (in KL), and have been staying for a little over a year. The building just crossed its 5 year mark since construction so a lot of big issues are popping up. For example, the ceiling fans in the living room and master bedroom just stopped working one day. So we told the landlord and had to fight a bit, since he’s convinced we have to replace it. But we didn’t do anything to break it and we’re paying rent for a semi-furnished home. Meaning we thought the fans came with the rent? But after back and forth he agreed to pay for the cost of the new fans, but we paid for the installation. Now, the hot water doesn’t work. It’s a condo with those built-in water heater. The heating element needs to be replaced, and plumber quoted us RM850. At first the landlord said he’ll put in new heaters for us. Then he realised it’ll be expensive, so asked if we want to split the replacement cost with him. Again, i’m a bit iffy because I thought hot water came with the rent. I mean, if i first came to view this house and he told me ok no hot water and no fan for RMXXXX rent and I agreed to it, then I understand that I have to bear the cost lah. But landlord keeps insisting that since we’ve stayed more than 1 year, we have to foot the bill on these repairs. Most of the people I ask around me say it’s the landlord’s responsibility. But the landlord macam confident it’s our responsibility because we’ve been here more than a year. So what kind of stuff do we actually have to pay as tenants vs the landlord?

2024.05.16 05:13 mentuhleelnissinnit Summoning the autistics with synesthesia

I didn’t realize until I was 24 that it wasn’t normal to have consistent colors assigned to certain numbers, and to hate certain numbers/number combinations based on the colors they make. It hit me then that the only reason I passed my math classes was bc of synesthesia. I memorized my times tables using the colors of the numbers.
For example, 5 x 5 = 25 is bright red. 2 is green, 4 is blue, and 6 is teal, so 246 makes this pretty green/blue/teal ombré color. 3 is yellow, 5 is red, 8 is burnt dark orange, so 358 makes this gross pukey orangey-dark brown color.
Also music has texture. I love synth for this reason bc it’s✨cronchy✨

2024.05.16 05:10 picklepaapad Feeling like Breaking up with my boyfriend because of his habit of JOKING.

I 21f have been dating my boyfriend 23m for the past 2.5 years. We are in a long-distance relationship. The first 1.5 years were really good but from the past 1 year or so he has developed a weird habit of making useless offensive jokes between conversations.
The reason he gives is that he is stressed about his career and hence doesn't have the mental capacity to work on this issue of his and doesn't think too much before saying it.
His jokes for example:
  1. He jokes about dying. I have told him not to make such jokes which hurts me but he still makes it.
  2. He says jokingly "What if I am here cheating on you with someone else, as you are not living in my city".
There are so many more examples of such silly "jokes" he makes which annoys the shit out of me and I end up fighting.
The main issue is that I have REPEATEDLY told him that what he says "as a joke" hurts me so bad and he apologizes every time. But still, he doesn't stop doing it. He again will start behaving this way after some days and will make me mad and then apologize and ask for forgiveness again.
I am so tired of forgiving him. I feel so disrespected that why can't he just stop doing this even when I have told him that it hurts me?
THE LAST STRAW WAS TODAY
My mom loves dancing so she made a beautiful reel on this trending Marathi song "Gulabi saree". I have sent it to him saying "Look at your future mil🥰".
To which he replied "Why is she dancing at this age instead of doing Bhajan🤣" (she is 43y.o).
After he realized that I didn't take his "joke" well. He instantly started apologizing that "it was just a joke, she looks so beautiful"
I just told him I am fucking done with him. He then again started his RR on how sorry he was and would not repeat such jokes.
I understand that he is stressed about his career but so am I. It doesn't mean that he can make so-called disrespectful jokes which hurts me.
I am so mentally exhausted. I haven't slept properly last night. I told him I needed a break from him. I don't know I might now just end this relationship.

2024.05.16 05:10 j4ckbauer Driving a stepper motor like a simpler DC motor (24BYJ48-64)

Hi everyone, I have what seems to be a very popular stepper motor for small devices, the 24BYJ48-64
My project does not require a stepper motor, but I would like to use this one because of 1) Favorable gear ratio for my purposes 2) Device housing already exists for the setup I would like to use it in. It would be a setback to have to use a different size/shape of motor.
I understand the concept of a stepper motor, there are more than 2 leads and you can't just apply DC and get it to spin. The electronics in the existing device drive the motor based on 'momentary' push-buttons. This is not suitable for my use case because the power will be interrupted often and the existing electronics do not save the state of the user having turned the motor ON. This one reason is why I am here and looking to replace the controlledriver electronics.
I understand electronics concepts, but I don't have experience or the tools needed to solder IC's and the like. What I was really hoping to do was to find something I can buy/order that will allow me to drive this motor as though it were a 'dumb' DC motor, where you apply DC voltage to something and the motor turns (slowly). Switches/knobs are fine as long as they keep the same state once the power is turned off and on again.
Example of the motor I have (not the exact one but same size/shape, voltage, and "model number" https://www.amazon.com/YEAHSO-24BYJ48-4-Phase-Reduction-Stepping/dp/B0CMQ91QRZ
Thanks for your patience and please let me know if I can provide further information to clarify anything.

2024.05.16 05:10 Sparky_McDibben Security Systems

If you've never seen it, I highly recommend the TV show Leverage. A five-season long mashup of heist movies and sitcoms, it follows a group of thieves who break the law to enforce justice on everyone from corrupt cops to the US Congress. In addition to being decent television, it was also a great source of twists, stings, and a variety of genre tropes, including security systems.
Now, I don't know about y'all, but sometimes I just plumb forget to add stuff like cameras, motion sensors, etc. And I've found that working off a template reminds me to add stuff back in. So I started putting some of these together as in-world security systems.
Most of you will likely not find this helpful, but for those of you like me, it gives you a structure to start from. That, I find, makes all the difference.
Definition of Terms:
Alarms: Alarms trigger any nearby patrols to check out the source of the alarm. Patrols start at the source of the alarm, then quarter and search the nearby rooms, moving in pairs when possible. If nothing is found, the alarm is shut down, but guards linger nearby for the next 30 minutes.
Patrols: 1d3 bodyguards (per Core Rules); 1-in-3 chance they have mini air drones available to sweep the area
Security Hub: Location from which all security measures can be monitored, and the security comm net controlled. Typically watched by a dweller (netrunner-in-residence), with stats as netrunner (per Core Rules).
Tier [X]: Security is set up in tiers. Tier 1 areas are available to anyone who's supposed to be in the building. Tier 2 areas are a bit more restrictive (an armory within a police station, for example, or a judge's chambers). Tier 3 areas are for very restrictive secured areas, like a SCIF.
Glenn-Rieder Security System:
A must for those with moderate security concerns, such as museums, banks, etc., the Glenn-Rieder will stop all but the most determined crew of thieves.
Cameras: 1d6 + 1 per floor, Stealth DV 14 to evade notice, 2-in-6 chance camera is being actively monitored.
Motion Sensors: 1d3 per floor, Contortionist DV 13 to evade notice, automatically triggers silent alarm.
Locks:
Guards: There are 1d6-1 active patrols at any given time, with another patrol standing by in a nearby break room, and a netrunner (dweller) camped at the security hub. Guards usually patrol a set beat, but will actively and aggressively track any suspected intruders.
Windows: All windows secured with standard locks (DV 9 Pick Lock) and laser tripwires (DV 13 Electronics / Security Tech check)
Exotic Countermeasures:
Roll 1d6 for each of the following countermeasures. On a roll of 1, that countermeasure is in place.

2024.05.16 05:09 absurditey Steve Gibson talks pins

We talk about passwords a lot (common passwords and password strategies) but we don't talk about pins as much.
This week on his podcast Steve Gibson talked a little about pins. He cited a summary of 3.4 million real-world (leaked?) 4-digit pins plotted in graphic form with first 2 pin digits on horizontal axis (scaled 0 to 99) and 2nd 2 digits on the vertical axis (also scaled 0 to 99) as shown here: https://www.grc.com/miscfiles/pin.png
The bright colors are more frequent. You can see a bright diagonal line, which means people are prone to making the 3rd and 4th digits a repeat of the first and 2nd (for example 4747). And the brightest points on this line are things like 0000, 2222, 7777, 8888. And also 6969
There is also a bright horizontal line with vertical values 19 or 20 representing years (probably birth years) with the highest concentration being around 1965 to 1990.
But the real kicker, out of those 10,000 possible 4 digit pins, the top 20 most-common pins (0.2%) make up 27% of pins in the set. Those top 20 are: 1234 0000 7777 2000 2222 9999 5555 1122 8888 2001 1111 1212 1004 4444 6969 3333 6666 1313 4321 1010.
There are a variety of pin applications with different requirements. But using something like a birth year isn't a good idea. You could generate a randon numeric pin using the bitwarden password generator and unchecking everything except for digits. You may want it to be memorable though. People may have a variety of ways to come up with memorable numbers.///
I'll share one way to come up with memorable pin numbers (or at least re-creatable, as long as you remember the seed word)
  1. Come up with a word that has the same number of letters as your desired pin.
  2. Convert every letter to a number by its position in the alphabet (A=1, B=2... Z=26)
    • For example if your letter is L that corresponds to 12
  3. Multiply the number by 3 (*)
    • same example, 3*12 = 36
  4. Take the last digit, that is your pin digit.
    • same example, last digit of 36 is 6
  5. Put all the pin digits together
That procedure maps the letters to numbers as follows:
As you can see it spreads the 26 letters out over the 10 digits pretty well (there are 4 digits assigned 2 characters each and 6 digits assigned 3 characters each).
As an example if my word is WARDEN, then my pin would be 934252
(*) You could use the same procedure multiplying by 7 (instead of 3), and the 26 letters would again spread out pretty well over the 10 digits... but the multiplication is a bit harder.
Take it or leave it, just a thought.

2024.05.16 05:09 Nuyturah Abdominal pain after doing a bar kip, with persistent pain in first few months. Currently, inconsistent pain increases with some physical activity or food intake. No diagnosis to date.

Background
Demographic: White, male, age 30, 5' 5", 175 +/- 5lbs.
Lifestyle: Active (workout 3-4x per week), Desk/Physical work split of 90/10%.
Complaint: Abdominal injury and pain (1 year and 8 months since injury), presently inconsistent pains levels between 3-5/10 and consistent lingering discomfort (1-2/10).
Medication: No consistent medications, no allergies.
Drug use: alcohol (1-3x per month), non-smoker.
History of the Injury
Late August of 2022, I hurt myself doing a kip on horizontal bar outdoors. Right after raising my feet to the bar and kicking my legs out I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. (I've done this and similar moves many times before through my 20s, while exercising)
Bar kip example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRPFWdelsDY
I couldn't stop slouching and crunching my abdomen. Stretching backwards and straightening my posture was very discomforting. The severe pain subsided in a day but in the following months I couldn't stretch my stomach and had to sleep on my back with pillows under my knees to keep a flexed/crunched posture. Sleeping on the side was discomforting, because the stomach would hang to the side, bringing up the pain.
In 3 months, I felt better. However, there were always some flare-ups of pain.
Pain Description: The pain always feels along "horizontal lines", on 1-3 locations at a time, around the belly button level, below, or above it, with varying intensity of pain. Through my personal touch/observation, these horizontal lines of pain are always along tendinous inscriptions of the ab structures. Sometimes I feel lower 1 or two lines in pain. Other times it’s one of the upper line(s).
Tendinous inscriptions image: https://test.usabcd.org/courses/lk-native-ld2-basic-ugra/lessons/lknative-rectus-sheath-block/topic/3-anatomy-the-rectus-abdominis-muscle/
Causes of Pain from Movement: Pain flare-ups happen when moving heavy objects rapidly (without prior prep), pulling something heavy from ground, rapidly stretching the abdominal area, or a day after the occasional exercise. Jumping and landing on ground from 1 ft. or above can make me brace my abdomen, leading to some pain as well. Twisting my torso side to side could also make pain worse, stretching one side of the abdomen, especially if twisting in my full range. Slight turns are okay.
Causes of Pain from Food: Flare-ups also happen immediately after eating specific foods, like sunflower seeds, nutty bars, and when a bit bloated from eating. Trigger of this pain doesn't need to be a substantial amount of food either. Sometimes just a bite or two gets the sensation going.
Pain Relief: Often immediately after having bowel movement there is some pain relief. If pain is not too intense, and more of a discomfort, bowel movement can sometimes end the discomfort
Medical History and Pain Progress Timeline
Slow increase in physical activity and exercise. Some running. With a good warm up, stretching the abdominal area isn't too painful (though I did not stretch the area at this time)
Rare ab exercises can feel discomforting, and some pain returns the day after.
Jumping high or landing from high jumps/drops can bring about the pain or worsen it.
Bloated stomach, or consumption of some foods (as mentioned above) can feel discomforting or even painful along 1 or more " horizontal lines". Bowel movement often relieves discomfort and even pain.
Post colonoscopy I did not return to physical activities and PT as the pain lingers on and is too consistent and limiting to do much in terms of consistent exercise.
Self-medication: On a few occasions, I tried to apply heat or cold, which didn’t help with pain much. But the cold helped numb things down. Heat helped to warm the abdomen and make some movements easier for a short time.
Rare/inconsistent instances of ibuprofen use (around 400-600 mg). Can't remember how effective pain relief is.
Massage/poking: Generally, I do it when I feel pain or discomfort along the horizontal lines. Massage, poking, deep massage does NOT reduce the pain for me. Sometimes even makes me feel the pain more. But mentally feels good to do and feel out where I feel it.
Present day condition (May 2024)
Some pain flare-ups with physical activities, infrequent feeling of discomfort after food (for both, often relieved through bowel movement).
Concern: While pain level has overall gone down since 1.5 years ago, I am not certain what I should and should not do, given there is no diagnosis or clear understanding of cause of pain. The occasional pain increases made me curious if someone had an experience with pain like this. Doctor's appointment all have lead to little to no improvement.
Additionally, I sense a lot of dismissiveness in all the doctors and specialist for this entire timeline described above, where with no results to show on diagnostic tests, I am sent home to "rest" without any hypothesis or brainstorming, and telling me "come back if pain gets worse". It gets worse and I run another round of catching doctors for, what feels like, waste of time with more tests, same questions and same story being told over and over to each new referred specialist I see.
Note: I asked the doctors on multiple occasions to review the MRI images or query a radiologist to do so as there are 100s of frames. I genuinely don't believe that initial look at it was done properly, with only 1 page report showing "unremarkable" for all metrics they looked at. I don't sense that my pain patterns (which I described extensively to every doctor and the radiologist) were accounted for when looking through any of the tests done.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!!!

2024.05.16 05:04 Virtual_Switch6996 2 years long hauler 95% recovered in less than 2 months

I want to start by saying I am aware everyone's case is different. I'm not stating this is the ultimate cure for everyone since long covid is a unique case for each individual.
So I started experiencing long covid since Jan 2022 after an infection that passed fairly quickly, i got the vaccine a few weeks after. By July 2022 I starting experiencing strange symptoms which I know now to be long covid. I had two symptoms: A pressure throbbing facial pain 24/7 behind my nose, eyes and forehead and an elevated temperature 99.5-100F. I did the initial rounds like we all have and everything kept coming back normal, got on nerve medications but they failed. They told me I had atypical facial pain trigeminal neuralgia type 2. I was pretty much left in the dark. I didn't know what I had could possibly be long covid until March 2024. After finding people similar to my case, I talked to my doctor about it and started researching.
March 2024 I was put on Nurtec ODT this helped me manage my pain to some level, its used for migraines
April 2024: I started targeting the viral load and spike protein degeneration via supplementation and prescriptions.
Prescriptions:
  1. Ivermectin - every other day for 6 days, now once a week. I will keep doing this for many more months regardless, and if i get infected again it will be first thing i take for 3 days straight. I saw this work first hand on my dad in 2021 but I didn't take it when i got infected.
  2. Clarithromycin - Currently finishing up my 2 week course i got this for SIBO overgrowth from covid immune suppression. Its showing up on long haulers, overgrowth can cause brain fog and headaches. You can ask your provider for a test.
Supplements:
  1. NAC - 500mg 2x a day for spike protein denaturation
  2. Vit C - 1500-2000mg a day
  3. Glutathione 250 mg once a day for spike protein denaturation
  4. Nicotine gum - 2mg 2x a day (To bind to the acetylcholine receptors covid binds to, so it can be released and broken down with supplements)
  5. Quercetin - 1x a day
  6. Antihistamine - Allegra D 1x a day with a low histamine diet.
  7. Vitamin B complex (therapeutic doses for nerve regeneration) - Brand: Nuphoria.com
  8. Oregano oil - Antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral 2x a day for 3 weeks with a one week break in between.
  9. Gut repai recover supplement - Brand: Mybrainco.com
  10. Licorice root tea - Natural blood thinner that got recommended to me for possible covid microclotting
  11. ashwagandha - 1x a day at bedtime, helps with covid.
Honorable mentions I didn't try: Nattokinase (for spike protein denaturation)
****IMPORTANT: STOPPED TAKING MAGNESIUM. I see people reacting to food even on low histamine diets. I had to even stop my multivitamin. Why cut magnesium off? My provider told me that mRNA strand was cut using an enzyme that is activated with magnesium, and deactivated with NAC, EDTA, high doses of vitamin C or glutathione. IF anyone knows how enzymes work, they help chemical reactions by catalyzing them to completion. I suspect this is why I still was reacting to food even on a low histamine diet.
Also could be why carnivore diet helps long haulers bc there is less magnesium in red meat, higher concentrations are in fruits and even higher in vegetables. Still some amount of magnesium will enter your body its in most foods and impossible to get 100% around it, but lowering it as much as you can could really help in your recovery.
Through out this whole process i started developing other covid symptoms I didn't have the past 2 years, I knew this was a good sign because they would only last 24hrs max. For example: Chest tightness, shortness of breath going up steps, fatigue. Recently I developed strange rotten smells and a metallic taste in my mouth. ALL of these were signs I was well on my way to recovery because my atypical facial pain and elevated temperature was 95% gone. Now I don't have ANY symptoms at all.

2024.05.16 05:02 slugma123 39 [M4F] Portugal/Online - Are you tired of ordinary run-of-the-mill men? Sex chats? Snoozefests of words? Being asked for endless photos time and again? Stop. You deserve better. For once, you can meet a truly cultured man with whom to have amazing dialogues about pretty much anything.

Hello, whoever you are on your side of this screen.
Predictability and ordinarity bores me. The idea of casual sex makes me more asleep than a Snorlax. I also don't want to be asked "How are you?" for the millionth time. And photos - well, one is always more than enough.
I'm sure I'm not everyone's cup of tea, but I don't seek anything ordinary, either. I'm just an author and researcher currently living in Portugal, and looking for someone new and truly unique to inspire me. We can talk about pretty much anything, plus you can learn a ton of super unusual but cool stuff if you're also into culture, literature, legends, stories, etc. What else can I tell you about me? Well, I'm often told I'm the most interesting person people have ever met, but let's go here for ten groups of facts about me and my life:
1- I've travelled to over 100 countries in search of knowledge, my favourite place being the streams of water and forests in the north of the Pyrenées, where I once placed my feet in the water and meditated for days.
2- I do not have a favourite book, but I do feel many marked my life. For example, Ovid's "Ars Amatoria" (as a teen), Cicero's "De Senectute" (as an adult), the "Ramayana" (as someone eager to explore other cultures), the "Nag Hammadi Library" (as a person deeply interested in lost religious texts), etc.
3- I once met a really amazing woman, we were together for 10+ years, we never married but we both knew neither of us was going anywhere else, I lost her in 2014 (and I don't want to talk about it), and I'm perfectly comfortable being single.
4- I've published over 80 books, between my real name and various pseudonyms, with the most sold having been top 100 on Amazon, and the least sold still stuck at under 10 copies (and it's intentionally supposed to sell very little).
5- In college I studied Computer Science, Psychology, French "LLCs" and Classical + Medieval Studies, but among my many passions you can also count Theology, Philosophy, Art, Mythology, Classical Music, Western Mysticism, Languages, etc.
6- I dislike social media and photos of people. I hardly ever take photos of myself or others, but I do have an enormous collection of photos I've taken around the globe, where I mostly tried to eternalize places and moments.
7- Apart from writing, I spend most of my free time as a volunteer for projects related to Culture, Children, and Mental Welfare. I also tend to donate to charity on a monthly basis, because I feel we should try to spread to others the good things we have in our lives.
8- Although I'm 39, I'm perfectly okay talking to much younger, or much older, people, because I feel they can also teach me a lot of things that I'm not necessarily familiarized with. And, in fact, one of my biggest pleasures in "real" life is talking to random people and learning new stuff from them.
9- I survived cancer and meningitis. I'm 99% okay, with the exception of a small physical problem most people never even notice.
10- I was recently "rejected" from a buddhist monastery for health reasons, since it seems my constant need for medication for an auto-immune disease would contrast with the simple life their monks need to have. So, yeah, that's mostly why I'm back online and posting this message.
So... if you are indeed tired of the usual messages and conversations, write me. Maybe you are indeed what I seek.

2024.05.16 05:00 TheRealWhiteChoco Are we sure _________ is the winner?

After tonight's episode, it seems that again the consensus here is that Kenzie wins. I can 100% see it: she aligns with a lot of the themes in the season, she has a very carefully-crafted edit, very likeable with a lot of positivity, and we hear from her a lot even when we don't need to.
...but I think this subreddit as a whole is ready to christen her, perhaps because we want to see her win over milquetoast nerd narrator, when Charlie in no way should be eliminated right now. I guess I'll go against the grain and make the case for Charlie to keep things interesting:
1) Charlie these past few episodes has hit consistent strategic themes about having options, being adaptable, and ultimately playing to win. Last week, this looked a bit hypocritical as Q stayed and Venus went home. This week, we see Charlie honor these themes by taking out Q, betraying his ally Maria (who admittedly was also betraying him), and "playing to win." We got the big crescendo in the music at the reward after his letters from home. The other players left in the game have not really had the same consistency. Focusing on Kenzie specifically, a lot of her content has centered around wanting Q out. Now, this in of itself isn't a bad thing given that Q is basically the season's big bad, and in the bitter jury/social winner theory that's been circling around, this could explain why a jury would be more willing to vote for Kenzie over Charlie. But, this episode was basically presented as Charlie's move. It wasn't Kenzie and co. convincing Charlie to flip. It was Charlie himself building up social connections (tying back into his themes) and making a move when the time was right. It almost stands in stark contrast to last week's episode, when we see Kenzie and Venus try to flip Charlie and fail, versus this week when it's portrayed more as an individualistic move from him and not the result of Kenzie building a social bond.
2) Charlie's win conditions. Last week, he said he needs to get out Q/Maria. This week, he got out Q. I think most of us here agree that Maria won't be in the F3. If he gets out Maria (probably at 5), he satisfies the win condition he set out for himself. In a more meta sense, he also finally got a flashback package.
3) Charlie is a threat in-game. We got (subtitled) conversations this week about Charlie being super likable and beating everyone in the end. While this isn't the end-all-be-all, it's worth noting.
4) Kenzie as a runner-up. This subreddit has gotten on-board with a Kaoh Rong dynamic for this season, with Michele/Kenzie beating Aubry/Charlie. But I want to propose another theory: maybe Kenzie is built up to be a compelling and rootable runner-up because Charlie really did just play that strong of a strategic game. I mean objectively speaking, the man has completely steamrolled. The edit has downplayed the alliance of himself/Maria/Ben throughout the middle of the merge, instead choosing to focus on more entertaining characters, but we knew that they were in control. Charlie also got his moment this episode to one-up Maria, which plays into what the edit has suggested with Charlie always getting his way and being the center of that duo. But having Charlie march to the end and win wouldn't make for a compelling FTC in what would be the most obvious win of the New Era thus far. Kenzie is the last of her tribe standing; she's been called a threat by others who ultimately took her out. She's slipped through as Q foretold in his hide-and-seek prophecies. She's even tied into a lot of the major themes of the season. But none of these things are exclusive to winners. I think a key example here is Carolyn, who was edited as a super rootable character that was portrayed in the edit to be a lot closer to winning and a much bigger threat than she actually was. There are other things too, such as the unfortunate reality of female winners not usually having such big edits, and Kenzie (I believe) would be the first New Era winner, male or female, to actually lead in overall confessional time for the cast. She'd be an incredibly unique winner for the series in that regard.
All-in-all, I think this subreddit has jumped a lot onto the notion of Kenzie winning when I don't think it's the slam dunk yet that a lot of this subreddit thinks. After voting out Q this week, there isn't anything that is glaringly wrong with his edit. Sure, he's a bit boring and doesn't have a ton of personal content outside of, say, Taylor Swift, but maybe there just isn't much there? The New Era has also done a lot of editorial legwork to try and mask obvious winners in the past. 41 basically made up fiction about Erika to make her seem more in-danger than she was when in reality her alliance of herself/Deshawn/Heather ran the game. 44 propped up Carolyn to be a legitimate threat to Yam Yam when that wasn't the case. 45 chose to spend most of the merge focusing on the downfall of Belo and Emily's underdog arc and then only really circled back around to the Reba dynamics at the end. I can see the editors of 46 choosing to focus on the more wacky and compelling rest of the cast over a dull dominance of a Charlie + playing up Kenzie as a legitimate threat to win so the finale isn't a slog when Maria probably goes out 5th.
I'm personally probably split about 50/50 between Kenzie and Charlie. I do see the argument for a Kenzie social victory. But I also think that the Finale and FTC is going to have to do a lot of legwork on why Charlie loses given the edit has basically done nothing but show him playing a stellar strategic game; given the current meta of the show and how fans have reacted to "wtf?" winners as of late, I'd expect the editors to be a bit more explicit on why Charlie would lose to someone who admittedly didn't do as much strategically. But we will see.

calculating mika strength

footage taken from here
Mika punch through the trinity walls where she was having conversation with Seia before she collapsed.
judging by the walls thickness in the background, i'd say that she punched a ~15cm hard concrete.
i will use the kinetic [e=(m.v^2)/2] to calculate her power, since it hard to calculate how much joules need to break a wall because of variables like impact mass, human stance, how the wall is built bla bla bla alot of yapping, i will use some real life example and then we make deduction from there
An average human can punch from 300-700 joules while Mika- i mean Mike Tyson can dish out up to 1600 joules, which is equal to a gorilla, however that power isn't enough to even break zoos glass consistently (most of the times) since they are created with and i qoute from website iq project:
"2 x 10mm laminated glass with 1.5 a pvb interlayer (1200 x 305mm) – or – 3 x 12mm laminated glass with 1.5 pvb interlayers (3m²)" (yeah i don't get what this mean)
so even a gorilla can't even punch a wall 15cm thick wall despite their prowess, however they can still bend iron bars that keeping them out.
so how strong is Mika exactly? an easy example is to shoot a 50 caliber to a wall and it managed to penetrate easily, and a 50 cal contain around 18kJ of energy which is 11 times that of a gorilla (keep in mind there is a lot of differences from comparing a single small bullet to a hand). so Mika power is atleast 18kJ per punch minimum. but that is doing this unjust as you cannot easily compare her strength like that without accounting the many variables... but am stoopid so we have to make do.

Mika managed to destroy part of the ruins easily, even if they are old, their thickness and density are still mighty, the feat to do this is atleast 2x harder than the previous example, despite that Mika is still saying that she had to hold back her power, i will let your imagination run wild from here on how much strength Mika has.
the amount of research i wasted on this is more than my effort in studying calculus 2.

2024.05.16 04:57 appletechgeek Need Alternative's for AWUS036AC(H) In Europe due to unavailability,

hello good day,
i wanted to purchase Two AWUS036AC(H) usb Wifi dongle's to experiment with attacking Dualband Wifi network's (both 2.4 and 5ghz at same time) and saw that these Alfa units were highly rated and succesfull by the community,
however it turns out they're no longer made/for sale at all for me in the Netherlands, and i've been unable to find a suitable replacement with the same capabilities around the same price per dongle of 50~ Euro's.
I want to experiment with De-authorizing both 2.4 and 5.0 ghz AP's/client's at the same time to prevent clients from hopping between the band's and keeping their connection, (also wiresharking/sniffing/de-authing while wiresharking Etc)
for example. Sonos speaker system's can use 2.4 and/or 5ghz i want to figure out what is going between the speaker's AP's whenever 1 or both Band's get's problem's, (this is my own test Location, i own these devices, no 3rd party will be affected by my testing)
according to my research using 2 seperate USB WLAN dongles would be the most reliable for atacking both band's at the same time, would this be correct?
what would be decent alternatives for the AWUS036AC(H) USB dongle's with similair or better capabilities for around the same price range of about 50Euro's per dongle in EU/NL?
small bonus question, would i need to purchase 2 or 4 of the APA-M25 Directional antenna's if i'm only using 1 band Per Dongle?since these dongle's have 2 antennas i would assume i'd need 2 per dongle, however since each dongle would only be using 1 of it's band's, it might not be quite needed.
the Directional antenna would allow me to roughly target specific Sonos speaker's that are scattered around the location and monitor their behaviour when part's of their mesh/network loses communication,
thank you in advance for your recommendations!

2024.05.16 04:55 AntEasy7172 How to ACTUALLY win in the social life? This has been my biggest insecurity.

The "cool" kids from highschool - are still the cool kids now. Idk why I tried to cope by saying "serious nahi hai rn, so karma will get them in their career".
Even in college, they're quite chill, they have a lot of friends, girlfriends and I don't think they'll personally ever feel lonely.
And I probably had this insecurity ever since my JEE/NEET journey - due to compulsory and intentional isolation from the world.
Before that? Life was good, 5 good male friends and I never felt lonely ever.
1) I didn't care what others thought of me 2) I didn't care how many instagram followers I had, and why it was bad compared to my other friends 3) I didn't care about this female bestfriend I had in childhood - and whether she got a newer boyfriend or not.
Life was GOOD.
Now, you know exactly what I feel (1,2,3)
And I had the funniest and the worst insecurities (Judge mat karna, par constructive advice dena)
Example - I literally felt insecure when my own child friend (she was a girl, and we're no longer interested to stay in touch) shared instagram stories with other men. And how she has 5x times my instagram followers, and her new bestfriend has 10x times mine. (I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THIS SHIT ABOUT THIS UNTIL I INSTALLED INSTAGRAM AFTER AGES) -
So you can understand that my mental health isn't the best right now.
I'll request you guys to give some positive feedback and advice to upskill myself socially when I start my college.
(Ridicule mat karna, there's no use. Let's help each other out)
