Been using it for yrs, always worked on me! But lately, the one I use started to smell fishy as in it literally developed a fishy smell so I stopped. Only reason I could think of is the high heat since room temp here gets higher than before, averaging 36C daily. Now my face is breaking out probably from a drugstore sunblock I smothered on my face at the beach. Im thinking I should get this facial wash back to my routine but I dont wanna buy another just for it to get stinky. Any recommended alternatives? Idk how to attach a pic of the product here, it says this community does not allow, but the main ingredient is salicylic acid and what it calls “HerbaClear.” My skin is really sensitive it’s hard to find a product that doesnt give me pimples.

I have found ABTF (two, actually! A Gaia and a Gorsenia, both 36FF) and 110% they’re unlined seamed bras. Nevertheless I’ve spent the last several years working from home and wearing low support super comfy seamless sports bras because why not. I started a new in office job two weeks ago and began wearing my nice underwire bras again. I wouldn’t say it’s as comfortable as my sports bras, but I can’t complain about the comfort overall — except that when I take my bra off at the end of the day, I’m EXTREMELY itchy where the seams are, across the front of my breasts.
I have crazy sensitive skin and, because I’m a dope and have no self control, I scratched them a ton and that led to a flare up of eczema… on my breasts. Thankfully it doesn’t bother me much except when I change out of clothes or when I’m showering but it is mind bendingly itchy when I do, and it also looks shocking.
I need to work with my dermatologist to get it under control, but I also want to look into bras without seamed cups (unlined, lightly lined, molded) — however I know it will be very hard to find any that fit my shape well. Mostly unseamed cups just end up pushing the wire down because they are not deep enough for my projected breasts, and I get sweaty skin on skin contact at the IMF.
Anyone have a particularly deep-cup unseamed bra in mind?
I tried stuffing a couple pads from an old swimsuit down into the bra today to “shield” my skin from the seams, but they just slowly made their way up and out the top of the cups (thank goodness I was wearing a big sweater to work lol I noticed at some point when I went to the bathroom that they were just… loose inside my shirt) But some solution along these lines might be viable. I’d prefer not to wear a whole camisole under my bra because that sounds like a sensory nightmare for one, and also I run hot.
It’s worth noting: No, it’s not a reaction to the fabric, laundry soap, etc. These are bras I’ve worn before for shorter periods of time without issue, and I have a history of breaking out in eczema in an area where I have scratched a bad itch (mosquito bites, poison ivy, etc.) It is also not a yeast rash. If anything, I’ve been very happily much LESS sweaty in and about the breasts now that I’ve been wearing underwire bras that fit well and keep things lifted and separated.

I have a cat and she licks and scratches herself until it bleeds. Her stomach and legs are completely bald. It’s been like this for the longest time and my vets just told me it might be stress or allergies or the weather. They told me it’s not easy to really determine it. But I just feel so bad she’s constantly bleeding and I just don’t know what I can do for her. Wanted to share my journey here with dry eyes in hopes that someone else might find my story useful.
I want to premise this by saying I’ve always been an active person, going to the gym 6-7 times a week and being an avid lifter. I’m fairly strict with my diet but not afraid to indulge here and there. I have also been someone who has always had sensitive eyes and skin and I’ve struggled with getting pink eye regularly throughout my 20’s.
February 2023 I stayed at an Airbnb and woke up with terrible pink eye. I waited a day hoping I could resolve it with over the counter medication but the next day having seen that it was getting worse I went to urgent care.
I thought this could be related to an Airbnb that wasn’t cleaned properly or the detergent from the sheets being too strong.
I was put on antibiotic eye drops for a week and after there was still traces left. I went to urgent care again and they kept me on antibiotics for another week and told me to see an optometrist if the issue didn’t resolve.
1 week later I had seen no change and scheduled an appt with an eye doctor. The doctor wanted to keep me on eye drops but switched to a stronger brand. She said my glands looked healthy, I showed no dryness but that my eyes looked like they were having an allergic reaction but that it was rare to have an allergic reaction without oozing and itching. At the time I wore DIY eyelash extensions but had removed them the night before getting pink eye to give my eyes a rest. She ensured me it wasn’t my extensions. 1 more visit with her and 5 more visits being told the same thing with an ophthalmologist, I was diagnosed with dry eye.
A week later I got laid off from my job therefore booted off my insurance and could no longer afford the prescription so I resorted to my own research to find the root cause for my irritation.
I tried everything under the sun. Paid out of pocket for a blood indoor allergy test only to find out I had none, got off birth control, slept with a humidifier, tried Manuka honey, and all other natural oils. Though some of these gave me temporary relief none helped the root cause and my symptoms were only getting worse.
I eventually stopped wearing makeup altogether and slipped into the worst depression feeling like there was no hope. I stopped drinking with friends because I knew the alcohol would cause me to wake up with my eye inflamed, stopped wanting to go out, and stopped getting ready for the day because I knew I wouldn’t feel confident with my constantly inflamed eye.
I convinced myself I had a vitamin deficiency, having just moved in with my bf and my diet taking a bit of a turn so started taking multiple supplements. Still nothing helped.
I went 12 months without insurance, and waited for the day I could secure a job with it. After getting a new full-time job it was the first thing I did. I went to see a holistic doctor this time, hoping they would actually listen to me and give me answers. By this time I had also become congested, had TERRIBLE dry lips that burned constantly and developed skin problems under my nose when I never had before.
She wanted to run multiple blood tests on me and told me the exact same thing as the previous three doctors in that my eye looked like it was having an allergic reaction. She asked me if during the time I had started taking anything new. Nothing came to mind at the time.
I had to stop taking all supplements for 2 days and fast for 8 hours before my blood tests and I noticed that during that time my lips and skin had slightly felt better.
Post tests I decided to continue doing so, only taking my magnesium and fish oil. After two weeks I noticed significant change in my lips and skin.
Thinking back on it the ONLY supplement I had consistently took, spanning 2 years before even getting pink eye, WAS A B-COMPLEX.
I got my blood results back and was regular in all things including iron, gut health, hormones, and autoimmune. The only test that came back irregular and extremely high was B12- which made sense.
It’s been 32 days now without b complex and my skin and lips are completely resolved and my eyes are 70% healed.
Still unsure how this resulted in my onset pink eye. Thinking maybe, my at time 2 years of b-complex use, the sheet detergent in the airbnb (I always use sensitive detergent), my face wash (which I found out also irritated my eyes), and maybe my retinol under eye cream (which I’ve also given up since) all created the perfect concoction for my dry eye to progress suddenly??
After a year of pure hell and my confidence reaching an all time low I’m starting to feel like myself again and I really just wanted to share my story. PLEASE LOOK AT THE REGULAR SUPPLEMENTS YOU’RE TAKING. I had a reaction after 2 YEARS of regular use. I think this is called a vitamin toxicity. But thinking I was only helping my health, the idea of it being my b-complex completely went over my head. I was poisoning myself this whole time.
My doctor suspects my eye will go back to normal after another month.
A year before getting pink eye I had also gotten angular chellitis for 4 MONTHS and couldn’t figure out what the cause was, it just went away one day. I’ve also had no libido the last 1.5 years, thinking this was all related to the same problem.

I'm 18FTM (also has a little to do with this) and she's 35F
School has always been really hard for me, and I've really been trying, but I haven't been getting far in anything at all. Sometimes it seems that she gets that I'm having a harder time than others and other times she keeps getting pissed at it. I also haven't been able to log onto Power school, the website my school uses to look at our grades. I tried to get it figured out in school, but we couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, and I told her, but anytime I mention it she calls me a liar
This morning, she had work, so I had to walk home and feed the dog, and I've never really complained about either, as long as she tells me beforehand if she knows I'll have to walk. It's almost an hour long walk, and since it's pretty much summer weather now, I got hot as hell, I've always been more sensitive to heat since I was a kid, and I could feel myself about to faint towards the end of it. Call it an excuse, but as I went to my room to try to cool down, I completely forgot about feeding our dog. I should have fed her when I cooled off at least, but I never realized that I hadn't fed her
My mom came home and asked if I fed her, I pretty much always remember to, but she asks anyways. I realized I didn't, apologized, and went to feed her and give her some treats as an apology to her too. I didn't tell my mom why I forgot to, since as I've heard many parents do, whenever I try to explain why, she calls it an excuse. She does know how sensitive I am to heat and the weather though, obviously
Then, about an hour later, me and my mom were just talking about the day, and she asked if I thought I would graduate. She got pissed whenever I said yes before, she got pissed whenever I said no, and I wasn't sure if I would, so I said I wasn't sure, that I was trying, but I don't know my grades. She immediately got pissed and started yelling at me, calling me lazy, accusing me of lying about not knowing and forgetting to feed her. She also usually genders me right, but as soon as she gets pissed, she misgenders me, plus today she accused me being trans, picking at my skin (which I do whenever I'm upset, I don't even usually realize) and crying (because of course i started crying) all things that I just do for attention or to "be cute"
Once she was done yelling at me, she took my phone (which she has zero ownership of: she never bought this phone, she never pays for data (I just go without) and she doesn't pay for the Internet, my stepdad does, and he doesn't care about the internet bill) and left, calling my stepdad and ranting to him about pretty much what she said to me
She went outside for a bit, then when she came back she gave me back my phone. She talked more calmly with me about having to figure out my grades and remembering to feed our dog, then she left me alone
It's just confusing and I don't know if I'm the AH or not. I did forget to feed her still, and I should know my grades, but she keeps switching between anger and calm so quick and often and insulting things that have nothing to do with our problems that I feel like I might not be

2024.05.16 02:04 Obvious_Inevitable63 [Product Question] Versed Retinol Serum Causing Itching and Redness
I recently was gifted the Versed Gentle Retinol Serum. I have used a bunch of different retinols, immediately prior to this was using the Obagi 1.0 retinol cream which has the same percentage of retinol. I ran out of that one and the next day started the Versed serum. I spaced out and forgot I exfoliated in the shower and then put on retinol before the rest of my routine. 20 min later my face and neck was EXTREMELY itchy and red, with bumps on my neck. Was so uncomfortable I could barely sleep. This has never happened to me with any of the retinols I have used in the past, occasionally I have gotten a bit sensitive/burn after using too many days in a row and then take a day or two break. I assumed I over-exfoliated and damaged my skin barrier and thats what caused this, so for the following week I cut out all active ingredients and exfoliating + used only gentle products and zinc oxide cream overnight. I went back to try the retinol again after 8 days and it again, made my face really itchy. Not as bad as the first time but still very uncomfortable.
Has anyone had the same experience or know why this happened? / does anyone know if theres something specifically in this product thats not in other retinols that could be causing this? Would love to know so I can avoid whatever ingredient is doing this.

Just had my first (I’m assuming also last) Brazilian sugaring. I have coarse hair and sensitive skin. I’m pretty upset about the whole experience so I won’t get in to it, but I have been left with multiple areas of hair (outer lower labia, inner lips, entire butt crack, inner thighs, random patches everywhere really). I did not run out of the building, they considered the job done. How can I fix this at home? I’m pretty sore and my skin is angry, but I want the hair gone. I was getting this done as a treat before a vacation in a few days. I know I can shave, but it’s going to grow back pretty wild, and I really wanted to be super smooth :(. Tweezing would take an eternity (these are big patches, not individual hairs). Could I buy some home wax strips and try remove the rest? Is it safe to do this the next day?

For those who are non celiac gluten sensitive, do you get any skin reactions after eating gluten? I tend to get itchy and sometimes pressure hives start. This lasts anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks
The only thing I’ve tied it to is eating gluten.

 | So I’m 32F and I was diagnosed with PD in the end of March and was give doxycycline and it cleared it up. Was recommended cetaphil cleanser, a moisturizer and spf. Told me to keep it simple and the less ingredients the better and to patch test on inner arm or elbow. submitted by AwkwardEsme to Perioral_Dermatitis_ [link] [comments] Before the first visit I used a lot of Korean skincare and I admit I was buy and trying a lot of things which I think brought on the PD I jumped into the TikTok trend of Korean skincare ( not saying it isn’t good, I think it is) and it may of caused this PD by using to many products. My dermatologist also looked at all the ingredients of the Korean products and told me they all have this one ingredient that most Americans are allergic to ( I can’t remember which ingredient) so I am scared to try those again and probably will stay away. I went back for a check up on May 9th and my dermatologist said it looked good and was cleared up. But also mentioned that PD could be a one time thing and it doesn’t come back OR it can have flare ups to which he said I have doxy refills for those and gave me some metrogel(?) to mix a little hydrocortisone with for the redness. I asked about la roche posay and he said it a good brand for sensitive skin and to read and research their blogs on the site. And I asked what the best brand for PD and he told me there isn’t really the “best brand” for example neutrogena use to be a really good brand but they change formula and that happens with brands. It just depends on an individual person because what works for one maybe doesn’t work for another. But he said also to just keep skincare to a minimum that I don’t need toners or serums That it’s best to do a cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. But since this happen I don’t wash my face as much and I’m scared to try things in fear my PD will come back.. And I wanna restore my skin barrier but I heard retinol and vitamin c can trigger PD So I’m doing cetaphil and I like it but my skin still feels dry and rough (not scaly rough) just not smooth and it looks dull.. and I just don’t know how to fix my skin barrier and so that my face feels smooth and soft and not look dehydrated and dull.. Anyone else scared to try or put things on their face after the PD cleared up? |

I’m married to a woman who acts like a teenage girl – February 6th, 2024
My wife behaves like a teenage girl and I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
This is just a rant. Curious to know how many full grown adults behave the way my wife does. I’d say out of all of the adult women I know, like friends, relatives, wives of my friends, none of them behave this way unless they keep it a closely guarded secret.
Editing right here to add that my wife is in her 30s, for context.
My wife is always obsessed with somebody, a man or sometimes multiple men at one time. Usually there is one or two main focuses at a time. When I talk obsessed I mean obsessed like a teenage girl or maybe even preteen girl would be. I’ve seen pictures of her bedroom when she was that age and they were literally wallpapers in posters of her favorite guys. That’s totally normal for a 13 year old girl. She still behaves that way as a woman in her 30s. Granted, our bedroom walls aren’t wallpapered in posters but they probably would be if I allowed it.
Her obsessions have ranged from rock stars, actors, non-entertainment industry public figures. It’s like one day she hasn’t even heard of the guy in question and the next day she’s super fan #1 and knows just about everything there is to know about him. She will read and watch everything there is to watch about the man. She will bring him up in every conversation. She will adopt parts of him into her own personality. She will suggest things that make it clear to me that she wants me to adopt characteristics of these men as part of my appearance or personality. She will openly admit to me that she’s masturbated over the guy multiple times in one day.
When she finds a new man to obsess over, she puts the others in her little stable of men who she always has a place for in her heart and in her fantasies, so they never really go away. The new man just takes center stage and becomes the main focus of almost her entire life.
So the current obsession is so strange to me. Never saw this one coming, but leave it to her to always find somebody new to fall in love with. The intensity that she has during these periods - it’s honestly like she falls in love with these men.
I’m laughing so hard just typing this all. Her current obsession is Bret Hart, former pro wrestler. This woman had never watched wrestling before in her life. Always thought that stuff was below her. And now she’s obsessed with this former pro-wrestler. She watched one show about him, for reasons I’m not aware of, and I could tell almost instantly where it was headed. I thought “here we go…” So now the Bret Hart obsession is in full swing. Has she already dropped close to $1000 in vintage Bret Hart shirts on eBay? Of course. Bought all the stickers and magnets and all sorts of other stupid crap she can find? Yep. Does she send me Bret Hart YouTube clips all.day.long when she’s supposed to be working? Yes she does.
So, I better get to work brushing up on my Bret Hart knowledge and tag lines. This is the key to getting laid when it comes to her. I’m used to this by now. It’s just not something that I can easily explain to anyone I know.
I mean, there’s are things I’m a fan of, but she is next level. I can’t think of anyone I know who is her age and acts like this. She was voted most likely to grow up and become a groupie when she was in high school, so this is absolutely nothing new for her. Sigh.

Very interesting to hear you say the feelings are exhausting. It’s like a full time job for my wife, so I could see that. She told me she’s at work with her door closed pretending to be working, but she’s really watching Bret Hart videos on YouTube. She can’t even focus on her job.

She’s pretty dismissive of my interests and hobbies. I’ve told her I’d like her to try to pretend to show a little more interest sometimes. I make an effort to show real interest in her stuff and she does not do the same. I’m very into music and I do geek out over guitars and gear and things like that and she couldn’t tell you anything about any of the guitars I own other than “he has a blue one, he has a red one. “ We do love some of the same bands. Of course she wants to fuck the band members and I just want to talk about the chord progression on my favorite guitar tracks, but it’s close enough. We like a lot of the same movies and that sort of thing. We have the same sense of humor and can keep each other laughing for ages. We have a lot of the same views on life and on the world in general.
I don’t know, we just get each other I guess.
I would be concerned about the waifu thing, but I guess in my case she always likes guys who I think are pretty cool anyway. She has good taste, at least. If she has to be obsessing over some other guy constantly at least she does it over guys I can respect on some level.
Regarding the spending, I spend way more than she does. Only difference is it’s not usually fan merch I’m buying. But she tolerate my spending when it comes to stuff like guitar gear. She rolls her eyes and reprimands me but she tolerates it and just knows I won’t stop. I’m the same when it comes to her fan stuff. I get it, she wants the vintage 1993 Bret Hart shirt that costs hundreds…not a modern shirt that just anyone could go online and buy for $25 right now. She wants the cool, rare stuff. I’m the same with my guitars so I guess it’s like we understand each other in some way. I think it’s weird to become a fan of somebody and 2 days later drop thousands on them though. At least my money pit is consistent.

I recently wrote about my wife suddenly discovering former pro-wrestler Bret “The Hitman” Hart one day after never even knowing of his existence, experienced love at first site, and is now even deeper than love with him then she was a month ago.
Tonight, I experienced a good hour of her sobbing, literal sobs, after watching the Bret Hart A&E biography. “I just love him so much. I love him with all my heart. I don’t want any more bad things to happen to him. Also, I’m very jealous he’s not my husband.”
She also went from not wanting any kids to suddenly wanting a baby so she can name it Bret (a girl or a boy, doesn’t matter…they will be named Bret). And she almost had me convinced, but I blame that on the heat of the moment.
She’s bought all sorts of clothes just like his. My wife now dresses like Bret Hart in and outside of the ring.
The past few days she’s been acting really annoyed with me. Finally I’m like “Wtf am I doing wrong?” I bought you Bret Hart stuff for your birthday! I call you Mrs. Bret Hart now, even though you’re my wife. I even sent you flowers at work from Bret. I mean that was supposed to get me points because she knew they were from me and I was playing into her obsession which she’s now apparently shared with everyone she works with. They’ve bought her a giant Bret Hart wall decal for her office.
Ok, so I did forget our anniversary which was very recently. Totally forgot it. Then again, so did she. She was too busy masturbating over Bret Hart to remember our wedding anniversary. I mean bad husband points for me obviously but all the birthday gifts had to have made up for it. I mean, I even ordered a Bret Hart birthday banner and got her a Bret Hart themed birthday cake as if she were a 7 year old boy in the year 1994.
So why is she acting so annoyed lately? Why does she act like she hates me and can’t stand to even be in the same room as me? She finally admits…I’m not Bret Hart. None of her obsession have ever been this bad. She’s seriously threatening me with divorce now because I’m not Bret Hart! She “just wants a guy like that.” She had to go walk the dog today and cry over it, how much she hates me and wishes she was married to Bret Hart. Oh fuck me you want a guy like your dad because that’s what Bret Hart is like…exactly like her dad, the same look, the same hair, the same damn age.
I told her I think she should get checked out for autism or some other sort of disorder. Her obsessions have never been this bad. She should make an appointment now because the waitlist is long. She just laughed. There’s nothing wrong with her. She just has different taste in men now, according to her.

NEW UPDATE - March 8th, 2024
Hi, you might remember me as the guy whose wife was obsessed with JFK (35th President of the United States), then experienced a world wind romance with former WWF pro-wrestler Bret Hart (the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be), but now she’s met a new man. I thought the Bret Hart obsession was the worst one yet. Never has she threatened divorce or told me she hated me because I wasn’t the object of her desire. Luckily, that was a relatively quick love affair for her. 3-4 months is a short run for her and one of her men. But I should be careful what I wish for.
This new one is the first time I’ve felt that I should maybe, just possibly, feel legitimately scared. Her newly developing obsession is Patrick Bateman. Yep, the character from American Psycho. Specifically, the movie version played by Christian Bale.
It’s not like she’s just met the guy. She’s seen the movie before but it doesn’t appear that they hit it off initially. Now, she’s suddenly started making constant reference to him. Bret is gone and now it’s just Patrick Bateman and maniacal laughter and purchasing all of the items in his skin care routine. I’d like to see her do 1000 crunches though. That’ll be the day.
She has always admitted to living the 80s preppy/yuppie look. She loves assholes. Assholes are a weakness for her. Psychopaths? Hmm…that’s a new one, unless you count the time she was in love with the Menendez Brothers years ago. God, the pastel Ralph Lauren sweaters she used to try to make me wear. Pastels are just not my shades.
Now, there was a time many years ago where I did have to hide all the knives in our home. I was legitimately scared that she was going to murder me. I forget what she was upset about now. I am, after all, her type - an asshole. I did something that bothered her and she ran for the knives. I had to hide them and then lock myself in a bedroom because she was literally chasing me. That was before she decided that she’d be the female Patrick Bateman. Granted, she says “only mean in the looks and snob department-nothing else.”
She’s trying to determine what the female equivalent to a Patrick Bateman hairstyle would be right now. I’m just worried about the bank account with this obsession. The amount she’ll spend on business cards alone.

But in all seriousness, she’s chased you with a knife? Thats far more concerning than any of the obsessions with these men, and yes I did read the post about the wrestler. I thought it was just very quirky behavior before, but she seems truly unhinged now.
It was years ago. Like 10+ years ago. I’m much stronger than her so it’s not hard to hold her down if need be.

Luckily, that was a relatively quick love affair for her. 3-4 months is a short run for her and one of her men. But I should be careful what I wish for.
This new one is the first time I’ve felt that I should maybe, just possibly, feel legitimately scared. Her newly developing obsession is Patrick Bateman. Yep, the character from American Psycho. Specifically, the movie version played by Christian Bale.
It’s not like she’s just met the guy. She’s seen the movie before but it doesn’t appear that they hit it off initially. Now, she’s suddenly started making constant reference to him. Bret is gone and now it’s just Patrick Bateman and maniacal laughter and purchasing all of the items in his skin care routine. I’d like to see her do 1000 crunches though. That’ll be the day.
She has always admitted to living the 80s preppy/yuppie look. She loves assholes. Assholes are a weakness for her. Psychopaths? Hmm…that’s a new one, unless you count the time she was in love with the Menendez Brothers years ago. God, the pastel Ralph Lauren sweaters she used to try to make me wear. Pastels are just not my shades.
Now, there was a time many years ago where I did have to hide all the knives in our home. I was legitimately scared that she was going to murder me. I forget what she was upset about now. I am, after all, her type - an asshole. I did something that bothered her and she ran for the knives. I had to hide them and then lock myself in a bedroom because she was literally chasing me. That was before she decided that she’d be the female Patrick Bateman. Granted, she says “only mean in the looks and snob department-nothing else.”
She’s trying to determine what the female equivalent to a Patrick Bateman hairstyle would be right now. I’m just worried about the bank account with this obsession. The amount she’ll spend on business cards alone.

I’m not sure where to put this, so in advance, I’m sorry! But, my issue at hand. I’m pretty sure I’m not allergenic to vanilla & cinnamon, but very damn sensitive. Since a small child, if someone smells vanilla, they love the scent. I smell it & it smells repulsive & like skunks, pretty much awful. It has progressively gotten worse with age, now when I come in contact with vanilla or cinnamon, my tongue is enlarged & I create ulcers in my mouth from extra skin being in the way when I eat or chew, if that makes sense. Or like post nasal drip, but it’s coming down my nose & it’s like acid on the skin, it creates blisters in my nose & have constant nosebleeds. You can imagine how hard it is to avoid eating or drinking anything with vanilla! Vanilla extract, vanilla flavor, vanilla beans, don’t matter, still reactions. Hell, I’ve noticed recently it triggers my anxiety pretty bad. All of this to say, how can I overcome this? Am I destined to be like this forever? Any meds that’ll help me? I hope all this makes sense because I’ve currently got 4 ulcers in my mouth & woke up this morning with a nose bleed from someone at work Monday night wearing Bath & Body Works warm vanilla perfume crap lol. Maybe if it were pineapples, that’s pretty easy to avoid, but vanilla? Help!

About a year and a half ago I got very sick, I was hospitalized and diagnosed with Type 1 at 27 years old. Prior to being hospitalized, I did not know all the nitty gritty details about Type 1 Diabetes, bearing that in mind, I usually have a lot of patience with people who associate Type 1 with Type 2. I kindly will explain the differences, if they understand it and are willing to remember, that’s great, but if they don’t then whatever.
At my job, there are several co-workers who I interact with on a regular basis that have Type 2. When I first came back from the hospital, several of them offered me their “tips and tricks” to “surviving my diagnosis.” Again, as I said, I would always kindly point out the differences and explain how our treatments aren’t the same.
Despite discussing this multiple times with a particular co-worker, they still incessantly give me advice and complain to me about having Type 2. Today, she made fun of me for using sugar-free creamer in my coffee, grabbed her own cup, and then dumped 6 packets of sugar in hers along with a sugar-filled creamer. While I recognize the irony of this, I said nothing and minded my own business. Later, she said she couldn’t believe “how skinny I was for being a diabetic” and made a joke about me “not really being a member of the club.” (I’m still trying to gain weight after losing a lot when I was undiagnosed so this is a sensitive topic for me)
About 15 minutes later, she began complaining about neuropathy in her feet. I asked if she’d seen a podiatrist, she laughed at me and said, “You’re still new this, you learn to live with certain things and handle them on your own.” She then asked if I experienced those same symptoms with my own feet, I said no. Then she went on a rant about how “I’m so lucky that I have the ‘good’ diabetes” and “it’ll get me soon so enjoy your good feet while you have them.”
I didn’t really say anything, despite very much wanting to. 30 minutes after this, she tried to force me to eat a piece of cake that I had already declined. Then she proceeded to lecture me about “what’s okay and what’s not for ‘our people’.” She also said that I’m “too uptight about my eating habits.” (I have already previously explained I can eat what I want with the aid of insulin, I just didn’t want cake)
How do you handle this sort of ignorance? Especially after responding politely SO many times? I work very hard every single hour of every single day to keep my blood sugars in check. As you all know, it’s a lot to deal with. Having someone try to tell me what’s “okay” regarding an autoimmune disease that they DON’T have, really gets under my skin sometimes. My dog is a 1 year old shepherd mix. She was on hills when we rescued her, switched her to royal canin and her stomach went crazy, diarrhea and vomiting even though we tried to switch her gradually. Shes been on purina pro plan sensitive stomach salmon and rice formula since about 4 months old and has done well with it overall. But recently isn’t showing an interest in it at all for no apparent reason, so we slowly weaned her to the purina pro plan adult turkey and rice formula to change up the flavor thinking maybe her stomach could handle “non sensitive” food. She’s now been nauseas and vomiting and not wanting to eat it. Also, I’d like to mention that she’s always had very itchy sensitive skin and dandruff so we’re suspecting some type of allergy. Our vet mentioned she may be sensitive to grain and poultry but I’ve heard of grain free food not being good (don’t attack me for this because idk, it’s just what I’ve heard). While I know raw/home made food is best, we just can’t do that right now. I’ve been trying to do research on best quality dry dog foods but see so many mixed reviews 🙃 So with all that being said, what’s the best option for dry food for sensitive skin and stomachs? As I said, M is a pretty chil person so she doesn't even notice this behavior from S. Some stuff S does are:
-Asking M to keep secrets, but then make painfully obvious to the rest of the group that there's a secret.
-Turn conversation of 4-5 people into a private coversation of her and M.
-Talk to me and the others when she thinks M is mad a her (Just because M is talking someone else)
-One of the last things she did was pass a paper between her and M with me literally in the middle.
I never really cared about this as I have other friends, but it was still a problem we all knew. The worst part? This attachment is totally one sided as M was completely oblivous and she even considers S just a classmate.
This new year rolls in and my best friend left our school. I was really thinking about this thing S has of excluding others, but I decided that I just needed to speak with new people. So there's this new guy "L" who happens to like the same author as me. We dont talk much, just exchange words, messages and just one proper conversation of around 20 minutes.
I first texted him, but a few days later we spoke during break time. Our conversation ended when I felt someone PULLING FROM MY HAIR for me to get up (I hate being pulled by my hair) and it's S, who then asked me what I was talking about with L. I explained and didn't think much of it.
But since then she started with this passive-aggressive comments like "Don't go with that guy or I'll get jealous", but always in a joking manner.
Then during a music class, we're all around the piano. Suddenly, S started to pull from my shirt with nervous laughter asking me to "take her out of there" M and I laughed and help her get out, but without understanding much. We got worried when S started crying.
After a long back and forth where she wouldn't tell us what's going on, she finally said that she and L exchanged glances, he politely smiled at her and she smiled back in a weird way.
Yeah, that's it. She got nervous and was embarrased because of her weird smile.
When asked why she smiled like that she said "Because I didn't want to be cute, I wanted to be like OP".
Since then I started thinking about everything and got weirded out. I texted a friend and told them everything, they told me that she probably liked L. I though the same, but wanted to let it go because she has a boyfriend.
The next day we're eating and S is looking down, I sat down beside her and she told me "Go with your friend, L. You're replacing me with him. That's why I'm mad" I laughed awkwardly and ignored her.
A few days later I met with my best friend and told her everything, we walked to M's place and told her everything too. From the attachment to her jealousy. Needless to say, we were all weirded out.
Here's where I found out from M that S texts her A LOT every day till M replies (Neither of us is really active on social media except for S who answers messages quickly). She also told me about a dream S had and where she basically told M, that she though I was mad and distant (I was).
Everyone agress that me and L barely talk, and even if we did talk a lot, it shouldn't matter to her.
Since then I've been talking less with her. A few days ago I ate lunch with someone else (no on purpose) and I think she got mad because today she didn't try to talk to me at all (good for me tbh) and when I went to eat, she avoided our table and only sat when I was away.
I don't think I'm the asshole, but this is so confusing.

So there's this new guy "L" who happens to like the same author as me. We dont talk much, just exchange words, messages and just one proper conversation of around 20 minutes.
I first texted him, but a few days later we spoke during break time. Our conversation ended when I felt someone PULLING FROM MY HAIR for me to get up (I hate being pulled by my hair) and it's S, who then asked me what I was talking about with L. I explained and didn't think much of it.
But since then she started with this passive-aggressive comments like "Don't go with that guy or I'll get jealous", but always in a joking manner.
Then during a music class, we're all around the piano. Suddenly, S started to pull from my shirt with nervous laughter asking me to "take her out of there" M and I laughed and help her get out, but without understanding much. We got worried when S started crying.
After a long back and forth where she wouldn't tell us what's going on, she finally said that she and L exchanged glances, he politely smiled at her and she smiled back in a weird way.
Yeah, that's it. She got nervous and was embarrased because of her weird smile.
When asked why she smiled like that she said "Because I didn't want to be cute, I wanted to be like OP".
Since then I started thinking about everything and got weirded out. I texted a friend and told them everything, they told me that she probably liked L. I though the same, but wanted to let it go because she has a boyfriend.
The next day we're eating and S is looking down, I sat down beside her and she told me "Go with your friend, L. You're replacing me with him. That's why I'm mad" I laughed awkwardly and ignored her.
A few days later I met with my best friend and told her everything, we walked to M's place and told her everything too. From the attachment to her jealousy. Needless to say, we were all weirded out.
Here's where I found out from M that S texts her A LOT every day till M replies (Neither of us is really active on social media except for S who answers messages quickly). She also told me about a dream S had and where she basically told M, that she though I was mad and distant (I was).
Everyone agress that me and L barely talk, and even if we did talk a lot, it shouldn't matter to her.
Since then I've been talking less with her. A few days ago I ate lunch with someone else (no on purpose) and I think she got mad because today she didn't try to talk to me at all (good for me tbh) and when I went to eat, she avoided our table and only sat when I was away.
I don't think I'm the asshole, but this is so confusing.
A lot of people really like her and sometimes I can be impulsive. AITAH?

Hey all, I’ve had a total of 4 rounds of permethrin - the second couple I took because honestly I was pretty paranoid, could feel the crawling and couldn’t stop itching my hand again.
Right now, I recently got some new bumps on my stomach. It’s pretty itchy but not scabies level where it’s urgent and you can’t stop itching. My best bet is on allergic dermatitis from the cream. I also get larger fluid filled bumps on my hands as well which stay there for a bit.
My question is, if I’m experiencing a body rash on thighs, chest, stomach, back, etc. but I am not really itching my hands or feet that much - is it simply my body reacting badly to the multiple doses I’ve had of the cream? Since my main cause of concern for reinfestation would be if my hands were extremely itchy.
P.S. my skins always been sensitive and I’ve had some bad times with eczema over the years.

A knock came at the door while Saphira was washing her hands in the basin.
“One moment!” she cried as she dried her hands on a nearby towel. She brushed her palms against her apron and made for the front door. Two familiar faces greeted her on the other side. “Espada! Goose! Come on in!”
Espada offered a curt nod and procured a bottle of dark wine from behind her back. “I know you’re avoiding the stuff, but Goose and I want to have a couple of glasses if you don’t mind.”
Saphira shook her head. “Not at all!”
“Thank you, thank you,” Goose sang as she skipped into Saphira’s home.
Saphira shut the door once they were all inside, then briskly returned to the kitchen, where two pots of stew cooked over her stove. She grabbed a mitten and cupped it over the knob beneath the pot, and pulled open the door. The fire was still going strong, so she nodded and shut it before setting the mitten back to the side.
“It smells delicious,” Espada said, taking a seat on the sofa.
“Thank you. It’s an old recipe of my grandmother’s. I hope you like it.”
“I’m sure it’s amazing.”
Saphira swung open a cabinet above her and plucked two glasses from within, holding them upside down with one hand. Years spent farming meant she had practiced hands, and she took great pride in her ability to accommodate friends and family. Grabbing a wine opener from a nearby drawer, thoughts of the last time she’d shared a glass with Matt pricked her tail. She strolled over to where Espada and Goose were sitting, cheerily humming as she gestured for the bottle of wine in Espada’s hand.
“It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve been here,” Espada commented, surrendering the bottle. “Keepin’ busy?”
“Every day is busy,” Saphira giggled as she set the glasses down. “Not that I mind it. I have excellent company.” She gestured to the crib against the back wall that Espada and Goose had built. Marie was happily playing with a few blocks that Goose had as a kitten. It baffled Saphira that Marie could already walk. Not that Marie could walk well just yet, but the fact that she’d picked it up so quickly and easily had Saphira wondering if she’d learned anything that early. “What about you?”
“Things are quiet lately, what with Matt and his Party gone. Demand for weapons and armor is low without ‘em. So I’ve been working the irrigation and home repairs lately.” Espada shrugged.
“Where’s Tabitha?” Saphira asked. Tabitha was a rambunctious woman, obsessed with dirt and everything beneath it. She had her heart set on being the one responsible for Junonia’s irrigation, and she worked as the village’s carpenter in her off time.
“We’re not sure, but she did mention checking out the other towns on Ni Island. Maybe she just got tired of this place.” Goose shrugged.
“It feels strange to take up her post,” Espada continued. “Not exactly my field of expertise. But it’s a living, and it’s oddly satisfying work. Besides, Goose is makin’ sure I don’t lose my touch.”
Saphira uncorked the bottle and set the opener to the side, blinking. “What does that mean?”
“It means you’re looking at a [Fighter],” Goose said with a toothy grin. “Been hearing all about Matt and his Party from Espada and the other girls, so I thought I’d make my own waves out there.” She emphasized the point by imitating an ocean’s current with her hands.
Saphira smiled. Ni Island wasn’t known for its plethora of adventurers. Most of them ended up calling it quits before Second Class—choosing quieter lives in tending to children, farming, cooking, or living off the land. She couldn’t think of the last time she heard of someone leaving Junonia. Well, except for Matt and his group. “Are you thinking of exploring outside the island?”
Goose shook her head. “Not yet. I’m thinking of hunting some small-time Encroachers for a few Bells. Espada’s been helping me.” She nudged Espada playfully.
Espada chuckled. “She has a good sword arm, so I’ve been teaching her in my off time.”
“Espada, you’re the best I’ve ever seen! You must’ve trained on Nyarlothep,” Goose said.
“Something like that.” Espada had always been tight-lipped about where she came from before she settled on Ni Island. Whenever she was asked, she’d shake her head and change the subject. If anyone pushed too hard, then she’d suggest they go on their way.
Saphira didn’t mind it so much, but she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t curious. Still, it wasn’t her place. She offered her own change of topic as she began to fill Espada and Goose’s glasses. “That’s so exciting, Goose!”
“It feels so good to train and Level. Don’t you think, Saphira?” Goose asked, leaning forward with eager eyes. She watched Saphira pour the wine, gripping the glass’ neck using her first two fingers and her thumb.
Saphira could hardly remember how long she’d dabbled in her Class after her choosing. Every catgirl selected a Class when they came of age, but it was a distant memory to her now. “A-ah… I admittedly don’t remember much.” She giggled and poured Espada’s drink next. “I know that I selected [Scout], though.”
“Huh. I would’ve figured you for a [Chemist] or a [Mage],” Goose said.
“I’d heard from Keke that [Scout]s were good at finding Encroacher parts, so I figured that I might become a leatherworker at some point,” Saphira said. She shook her head. “I’m not one for combat, though. I only ever reached Level 2.”
Goose nodded as she swirled her glass. “That’s our Saphira. Pure to the core.”
Saphira flushed and curled a lock of her hair around her finger. “Hardly.”
“You could charm the evil out of the Defiled,” Espada laughed before draining nearly half her glass.
Saphira wondered if Espada knew that wine was a bit different than ale. “That’s kind of you to say.” She could feel her cheeks growing hotter by the second. “I’m going to finish up dinner.”
By the time the food was ready to be served, Espada and Goose were laughing up a storm. Saphira set three hearty plates on the table, then strolled over to her daughter’s crib. Marie cooed and reached for Saphira’s finger, gripping it tight so as not to fall over.
“You’re so smart!” Saphira said in a high-pitched timbre. “It’s time for dinner!” She reached down and picked Marie up, cradling her in her arms as she approached the table in the living room. It was perfect for the occasion. She’d tried to share dinner with her daughter at the dinner table, but it had proven difficult with its height.
“Thank you for the meal,” Espada said with a nod. She’d finished her wine before dinner and didn’t seem any worse for wear. The same amount would’ve seen Saphira sleeping on the floor within minutes.
“Yeah, thanks!” Goose said.
“You’re welcome,” Saphira smiled as she took a seat across from Espada and Goose. Bouncing Marie on her knee, she plucked a fork from the table, skewered the steamed meozuna greens, and hovered the vegetable over Marie’s head. “Oh, look what I got you!” The kitten batted the air for her mother’s food, grabbing hold of Saphira’s wrist after the third attempt. Marie guided the fork to her mouth, nibbling on the soft veggie, and her tiny ears perked straight up. “Oh, what a good girl! Mommy’s little kitten is so smart!”
Goose and Espada watched with smiles on their faces as they picked at their food. Saphira continued to spoon and fork her food, sharing every other bite with Marie. To her relief, Marie was not a picky eater—Saphira’s mother had always liked to tease her about how fussy she was as a kitten.
“I can’t believe how fast she’s growing,” Goose commented while she wiped at her mouth with a handkerchief.
“I know, isn’t she beautiful?” Saphira glowed. “I love her with all of my heart and soul.” She and Marie touched foreheads, eliciting an excited coo from the kitten.
“It’s still so weird to me that Matt left,” Goose continued. “He’s such a…unique man.”
That was the perfect word for Matt. Saphira had never heard of a man traveling the other islands so quickly, nor had she ever heard of one working with the neighboring islands. It wasn’t unheard of, but she pined for Matt’s smile, his laugh, and his embrace. His presence brought so much hope and life to Junonia, and his absence was sorely felt.
Every day spent without him was another day Saphira spent worrying for his safety. As strong as he was, she feared that his kindness and consideration could bring him harm.
I hope you’re okay, Matt.
Espada snorted. “I can think of a few other words for him.”
Saphira guided another spoonful of potatoes into Marie’s mouth. “What do you mean?”
“We got off to a rough start.” She pushed her empty plate forward and leaned back against the sofa. “I was already pis—” She hesitated, glanced at Marie, then coughed into her fist. “I was in a bad mood that day. So I told him off when he tried to barter.”
Saphira gasped. “Espada!”
In a rare moment, Espada looked uncomfortable. “I work hard on my craft, and I wasn’t about to let him take advantage of me just because he was a man.”
“But they’re here to protect us.”
“I get that,” Espada said, her tone lowering, “I’ve just seen others who flaunt their influence, and I’m not okay with that.”
“I hope you apologized later.”
Espada blinked. “Sure. Yeah, I did.”
Saphira wasn’t quite sure if Espada was telling the truth, but she decided not to pry. “Well, it sounds like you’re on good terms now, then.”
Espada shrugged. “I think so. I gave him a few pointers when I had time.”
“You mean when it was convenient,” Goose jabbed Espada between the ribs playfully. “I know what those words really mean.”
Espada shook her head and rolled her eyes. “Sure you do.”
Marie grabbed one of Saphira’s bangs and pulled her closer. “Aauuooo?”
“Sweetie, you’re hurting Mommy,” Saphira said as she unhooked her daughter’s hand from her hair. She giggled and used her free hand to fix her hair. “You know, I’ve always wondered, Espada.”
“Hm?”
“What brought you to Ni Island? You know so much about weapons and armor, and you learn things so much faster than I would.” She tilted her head inquisitively. “Where did you learn?”
Espada didn’t answer immediately. “I used to work in Nyarlothep as a smith.”
“I knew it!” Goose cried.
A warning glance escaped the corner of Espada’s eyes. Goose quieted, and she continued, “I got tired of my work there and decided to come here instead.”
“A fresh start?”
“You could say that,” she said quickly. Her tone was flat and snappy. “I guess I just got tired of the politics and making weapons and armor for those who didn’t deserve them.”
“Well, I’m glad you decided to come to Ni Island,” Saphira smiled. This was a sensitive topic for Espada, that much she could tell. It was time to let the matter drop. What did it matter, anyway? “It wouldn’t be the same without you.”
Espada’s easy smile returned. “Thanks.”
The room was warm and comforting. As the conversation continued, Saphira eventually let Marie walk around under the condition that Goose sat on the floor with her. It was much easier to keep an eye on a curious kitten with multiple people. The three of them played with Marie, and when it was her bedtime, Saphira placed her daughter back in her crib and kissed her forehead.
“Thank you again for dinner,” Espada said. “It’s been a while since I had such a nice home-cooked meal.”
“You’re so welcome!” Saphira clapped her hands together. “We should do this again sometime.”
“I agree! Maybe next time I’ll bring the meat,” Goose said. “Fresh kill and all that.”
“As long as I don’t have to, well, prepare it.” Saphira swallowed hard. She couldn’t imagine being the one responsible for skinning and bisecting an Encroacher for food. She always left that to the butchers.
“Don’t worry. I could never ask you to do that.”
“Then it’s a plan!”
Espada and Goose waved their farewells, and Saphira shut the door behind them, leaning against its surface when they were gone. The room was quiet now, with only the crackling of the hearth and her daughter’s snores to keep her company. For a few moments, she couldn’t wipe the smile off of her face. She had the family she always dreamed of. Marie was every bit the blessing from Saoirse she imagined.
But the longer she stared, the longer she listened, the more empty the room started to feel. Her hands clenched into fists behind her, and her longing for Marie’s father heightened.
I wish you could see your daughter right now, Matt.

Espada didn’t answer immediately. “I used to work in Nyarlothep as a smith.”
“I knew it!” Goose cried.
A warning glance escaped the corner of Espada’s eyes. Goose quieted, and she continued, “I got tired of my work there and decided to come here instead.”
“A fresh start?”
“You could say that,” she said quickly. Her tone was flat and snappy. “I guess I just got tired of the politics and making weapons and armor for those who didn’t deserve them.”
“Well, I’m glad you decided to come to Ni Island,” Saphira smiled. This was a sensitive topic for Espada, that much she could tell. It was time to let the matter drop. What did it matter, anyway? “It wouldn’t be the same without you.”
Espada’s easy smile returned. “Thanks.”
The room was warm and comforting. As the conversation continued, Saphira eventually let Marie walk around under the condition that Goose sat on the floor with her. It was much easier to keep an eye on a curious kitten with multiple people. The three of them played with Marie, and when it was her bedtime, Saphira placed her daughter back in her crib and kissed her forehead.
“Thank you again for dinner,” Espada said. “It’s been a while since I had such a nice home-cooked meal.”
“You’re so welcome!” Saphira clapped her hands together. “We should do this again sometime.”
“I agree! Maybe next time I’ll bring the meat,” Goose said. “Fresh kill and all that.”
“As long as I don’t have to, well, prepare it.” Saphira swallowed hard. She couldn’t imagine being the one responsible for skinning and bisecting an Encroacher for food. She always left that to the butchers.
“Don’t worry. I could never ask you to do that.”
“Then it’s a plan!”
Espada and Goose waved their farewells, and Saphira shut the door behind them, leaning against its surface when they were gone. The room was quiet now, with only the crackling of the hearth and her daughter’s snores to keep her company. For a few moments, she couldn’t wipe the smile off of her face. She had the family she always dreamed of. Marie was every bit the blessing from Saoirse she imagined.
But the longer she stared, the longer she listened, the more empty the room started to feel. Her hands clenched into fists behind her, and her longing for Marie’s father heightened.
I wish you could see your daughter right now, Matt.

Basically, the title. I was diagnosed in 2018 with an autoimmune disease based on blood markers but my rheumatologist couldn’t tell me exactly which one I had. He said there were some markers for Lupus but not enough to diagnose me.
I can always tell when I’m having a flare because I get these sores in my mouth. They’re ulcers. They’re so insanely painful. When my stress was at its worst in my life, I was also getting these ulcers in my nose and I got one in my eye right under my eyelid. It was unimaginably painful and I went to my primary care physician to have it looked at when it happened. But she said she couldn’t see anything and basically seemed to imply I was over exaggerating, which honestly deterred me from continuing to see a doctor about these issues. I figured I had HSV 1 and it was particularly bad because I was so stressed.
I have had a myriad of other symptoms. Swollen joints, osteoarthritis, constant headaches, bleeding from random organs (ie. coughing up blood clots, constantly having blood in urine tests despite no infection, bleeding a lot when I pass stool). I have a lot of skin problem. I get those pimple blister things and am super sensitive to sunlight.
I’ve been having a flare recently, likely due to poor sleep and stress and I have gotten these terrible sores in my mouth again. So freaking painful. They were healing up after I slept a lot and then a few days later some new ones started popping. It was bothering me so much I googled mouth sores related to autoimmune diseases and found a description of Behçets. This is the first time I’ve ever found out about an autoimmune disease that seems to describe what I’ve been experiencing for so many years.
I found this sub and have been exploring it to see what the experiences of others are. And I feel like I have read some horror stories on here already. I know this place is not to be used for a diagnosis, and I already plan to have this conversation with my rheumatologist. I was just wondering if some people are just constantly uncomfortable and not always in searing pain?
I say this as I’m laying here with swollen muscles I am literally trying to tenderize like a steak because they’re so tense and painful and causing me the worst headache ever.
Basically just looking for stories about peoples’ personal experiences to see what Behçets is really like on an average day.
