TRD Rocker Panel Issues
I noticed this on my 2024 TRD after 5 wks and less than 1K miles. And, no I didn't hit anything. I brought it back to the dealership where they immediately told me, it's not covered. Obviously I was pissed! I told them I didn't hit anything. There are zero scratches on the rocker itself. The dealer called back 10 days later and offered to pay half, my cost would be $380. I'm talking to the GM next to hopefully get it covered. Feeling pretty helpless at this point.
Anyone else have this issue? If so, how did it turn out? If not....check those rockers before you leave the dealership!

2024.05.14 02:13 cherrytwilight Certifying for IDR using paystub due to pay DECREASE

For those who have certified or re-certified for an IDR using pay stubs instead of previous year’s tax records, do you know the math that goes into calculating your monthly payment? I know if you use pay stubs, it’s based on GROSS income and not AGI. So do the servicers then extrapolate your AGI based on your gross income in your paystubs?I’m married filing jointly so would it be my partner’s gross income from paystubs + my new decreased Gross income from paystubs?

2024.05.14 01:02 RoyalReference2861 Jungle Reef was a waste...

After being holed up for a couple months from giving a traumatic birth, we decided for my first mother's day to visit this new aquarium exhibit. I LOVE aquariums and animals- my son has taken a liking to watching our fish tank and thought he would go wild for this as well. We drive all the way from Las Cruces to this place.
I wish I could tell you what the inside looked like, how the animals were, even give my unbiased opinion on the restrooms that everyone spoke poorly of. No, instead, we barely made it to the front counter. My husband used his phone to sign the waivers, but as we got the the counter, we were corrected to fill out a waiver for our 4 month old (who was in a stroller and doesn't even move from there). This kind of irritated me but I was too busy scoping out the lizards by the cashier.
Then I heard the front counter girl who probably belongs in a tackle box with all the piercings on her face telling my husband to step aside (in a VERY unkind manner) so she can tend to other guests. He said it will just take a second but I could tell by his shakiness, he was getting anxious. She was causing an anxiety attack so I stepped in and said she can wait just a minute- he's almost done. He tried sending the waiver through but it seemed as soon as we stepped through the front door, there was no service and kept giving him errors.
I asked if there was paper waivers, she said no and to move aside. I said no, we're here why do we need to sign a waiver for a 4month old? He isn't paying, playing, or touching. Unbelievable. We even showed her us trying to send it through and the service not allowing it to go through. At this point, a "manager" with a baby kangaroo or whatever it was strapped to his chest came over and said WE were being rude to her. That angered me even more, considering my husband was trying his best for our family to have a good day. I said absolutely not, and explained the situation. He didn't care to hear it, just told us to step aside. I said no, I'm not moving, we waited in line for 30 minutes, it is mother's day you should be nice. He said I don't care what day it us, you need to move.
My husband tried to speak up and he RUDELY cut him off and said "I am talking to your wife not you" I said let me get your managers number, he said, I am the manager. Okay well there's always someone above you so I want the GM number, he pulls us to the side, and has us wait while he dials a number on his phone. I overhear him asking for mall police. ARE YOU JOKING.
He started casually talking with another employee, laughing, joking what not, while people pass by and we are just standing there like idiots. So I spoke up, "I'm still waiting for that GM number" he rolls his eyes and said just wait a minute. I'm getting furious at this point.
On mother's day, and not just any, but my first mother's day and we weren't even doing anything wrong. So I said fine, you want to call security? I'll give you a reason. I knocked over some file papers behind a desk and shouted a big F YOU. Waste of me and my family's day- thanks for absolutely nothing and obviously, we will NEVER be returning or recommending to any friends because of the pathetic excuse for employees you have there.
Not only that, the manager proceeds to FOLLOW US out the mall, getting ahold of every mall cop in his way as if we cared we were leaving the mall- no need for other hands considering you barely had any yourself taming that scared animal in your sling.
Gross behavior, you had no jurisdiction to follow outside of your little store. Treating people and the animals like garbage seems to be common with this "establishment" .
Do not go here, don't bring your kids here, I hesr they pet turtles- yeah okay salmonella. 👌 Extremely unprofessional.
Edit: Just wanted to add that the mall police even told us they have had NUMEROUS complaints and issues with Jungle Reef already and this isn't out of the ordinary. Basically, they're almost fed up with them, so our present issue wasn't something that bothered them at all. They just waves it off and asked if we were okay, let us tell our side, shook me and my husband's hand and let us go on our way.

2024.05.13 23:46 DryBee2606 Brand new side business - bank wants to contact my employer for business credit card application?

I recently created an LLC for my side business. It’s a brand new business so no revenue yet and I have to personally guarantee the card - that’s fine.
I called up the credit union where I created my business checking account to apply for a business credit card. They asked if my business was my main source of income and I said no, I’m employed full time and starting this on the side.
They then asked for my employer information and said they may call to ask to verify my employment and income. This would be on top of providing paystubs and 2 years personal income tax returns.
I don’t want my employer to know I’m starting a business on the side as it has nothing to do with them and they don’t need to know what I do in my free time.
Is it common for banks to contact an employer for a business credit card? Are there other credit cards I can apply for that won’t contact my employer? I’m fine with providing pay stubs and tax returns.

Single ticket for Stockholm N3, GA floor, early access.
Hi! There was a technical difficulty with my first StubHub purchase and I panicked and bought a second ticket. Now I have an extra!
Asking €190 via PayPal (well below what I paid on resale) in an attempt to recoup some of the cost. Really don’t want this to go to waste!!
I’m happy to do whatever makes a fellow Swiftie comfy to accept the transfer. PM me!
when I purchased the ticket the seller didn’t indicate whether or not the merch voucher was included, so maybe there will be a happy surprise there for you. I do know it includes early access.

2024.05.13 22:52 Leather-Age-9286 How to get offer letter

Hello!
I’m applying for apartments but need an offer letter from Panda. I’ve worked there for about a week, so I don’t have any pay stubs to show proof of income. I got an offer email, but no attached PDF with an actual letter. Is there a way to get an offer letter without asking the GM to send me one?

Im asking for this loan to help me cover the cost of an alternator replacement on my vehicle. I just started back to work after a month and a half lay off. During this time, I ate through my savings. Im a single father of two, and a vehicle is a necessity at rhe moment. I have to get my kids from daycare each day, as well as commute to work. I purposely made the interest more attractive on this loan, as I’m in a desperate spot atm. I have a good history here, I communicate openly with my lenders, and if possible I try to pay my loans off early. Repayment will be $325 spread over my next three paychecks. I can provide any identifying documents you may need: pay stubs, ID, cell, social media etc. Thanks for reading!

2024.05.13 21:46 TangledUpInThought Not sure if the dealership I bought my car from recently is above board...

Bought a car from a big dealership in a large city a week ago. After buying it I have called and asked twice for them to email my loan information so I can log in and pay my monthly payment online and they have never gotten back to me. So today I called the finance company I got the auto loan from directly to try and get my account information and they told me they haven't even approved the loan yet. They said they haven't verified my income yet and have tried to call the dealership to get it and the dealership said something about not being open that day. I signed a bunch of paperwork and have had the keys for a week but when I bought the car the dealership never asked me to bring in pay stubs which I kind of thought was weird but just figured they didn't need them. So now I'm nervous this deal isn't gonna go through should I just go into the dealership tomorrow and voluntarily give them some pay stubs? Should I try to give the loan company the pay stubs? The whole thing is starting to stink. Any insight would he appreciated

Mostly a vent post...I'm a public school teacher and just checked my pay stub for last pay period. My take-home income is about $1150 less than my gross income. This is nothing new. I'm 34 years old and have been in the "work force" since before I was 16. So I'm well aware of deductions but holy crap this month's just hits different. I'm at the point where I've been heavily budgeting for a few years and I feel stagnant. 28% of my income goes to a combination of HYSA, IRA, HSA, & mandatory retirement through work. I moved out of my 1 BR apartment in early 2023 and moved in with a random roommate to mitigate expenses. The move at first saved me about $600/month. I've been monitoring expenses and with the increases in auto insurance, food prices, utilities, fuel, services, etc, that $600 savings is almost entirely eaten up. I got squeezed out of my apartment because of affordability, I'm getting squeezed in everything I purchase at the stores and regular services I need. My rent went up at the house. I'm getting squeezed there. My salary has not increased so I'm getting squeezed there. I rarely do anything fun anymore. I had to minimize outings and niceties to meet my savings/retirement goals right? I was able to save about $6000 in a HYSA over the last 18 months. My 10 year old car w/ 125k miles needed brakes, a new tire, spark plugs, window switch master motor, and a wheel bearing. $1500. And I price shopped and tried to barter a better deal.
Like what the fuck do I do? I know I need to increase my income somehow as I live in a semi - HCOL area. But I have a Masters Degree & licensure in education. I feel stuck. I know I can't be the only one feeling like this. It feels helpless. It feels like I should take all the money I've saved and go "live", take a trip somewhere else and at least "live". Anyone else feel the same? I had to vent this out.

2024.05.13 20:36 QuirkNQuill EB2-New Card is Being Produced!

Hey everyone,
I honestly never thought I'd be posting this here, but it's finally my turn! I started the whole application process back in October 2022 and after what felt like forever, I just received the "new card is being produced" notification! I realize I’m one of the lucky ones as I did not need to wait for years and I’m so grateful for this opportunity.
This feels totally surreal, and I can hardly believe it. Wishing all of you the best and hoping you get your positive decisions soon too!
Here’s my full EB2 timeline:
A bit about me: I'm a PhD student working on my dissertation in entertainment media, not the typical engineer or physical scientist profile. Given the workload and my field of study, I decided to invest some of my savings in a lawyer to help simplify the process. I chose Ellis Porter, which offered a refund option, and it was a great decision. I am super happy with them. They were accessible to me and my questions during the whole process.
If your case was also handled by MSC and received by October 24, 2023, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you! There's been a wave of approvals from that date recently. Here's to hoping yours is next!

2024.05.13 19:46 AndyHatesLife Should I expect my union to reinstate me??

Edit: the HM took a month to schedule my first training shift, then I had a mental health crisis and my HM told me to take as long as I needed off and literally said, "Don't come back in until you're feeling up to it." Then I had a few normal training shifts, had to rescheudle the final one, and got ghosted. Found out from a random employee that I was fired and absoutely zero due process that the union calls for was followed. I didn't voluntarily not show up for work for 4 months - there were reasons and I mentioned them in the post.
I work(ed) at a safeway under the union UWFC3000. I was hired on January 2nd, but I didn't begin my training until Febraury 1st because the hiring manager kept sending me times to come in that were outside of my availability. Fast forward, I have 2 onboarding shifts doing boring computer work, each was a 4 hour shift. Then, I had a mental health crisis due to a lot of compounding factors outside of my control (was nearly involuntarily committed to an inpatient for a week) and the hiring manager literally told me to not come in until I was feeling better.
About a month later I'm feeling good so I have my first real training shift. Then, I have my second real training shift a couple weeks later because the hiring manager takes forever to schedule or reply to anything. Then, he tells me I need to come in for an hour or two to complete some more computer work, we scheudle this for April 17th (for reference, I was NOT scheduled! I just mean scheduled as in we planned for that day. They were going to clock me in off the schedule for the hour or two the computer work took). Well, my landlord and roommate began threatening me and I had to move very last minute - I messaged the hiring manager and asked to come in the following Wednesday, April 24th. No answer. I message on the 24th to ask if Thursday or Friday works. No answer. I message one last time on the 25th, no answer. I asked my friend who works there to tell the hiring manager to message me back and the response he got was, according to him, a very panicked "uh, ask [general manager's name] about it" then immediately walked away. So, he does, and the general manager tells him I've been fired - news to me! He asks why and gets the response, "Well if ya don't show up to work, ya don't have a job!"
So, I ended up calling and asked to speak to the general manager. He tells me I was fired for repeatedly putting off my training because "we just can't have that" and told me I was fired at the end of the previous week (didn't get a specific day so it was either the 26th or 27th - the days AFTER I had messaged). I told him there seems to be a misunderstanding and explained that I was under extenuating circumstances to which he literally tells me he never heard about any of those and goes "well, I guess you're welcome to reapply and [hiring manager's name] will push it through." It's been 2 weeks and I have not heard anything about the app I submitted until today, but it was just to tell me to come into their job fair and re-apply there, but that I'd be competing with anyone else that applies as well??
My union states you have to inform the employee they're being considered for termination - I was neither informed that I was being considered nor that I was terminated. It also states that you need to do an investigation and I'm fairly certain make the union aware that you're firing someone. Nothing was investigated - was never asked why or anything and the GM literally told me he didn't know about any of my circumstances. My union urged me to file a grievance with back pay, so I'm definitely going to. But should I expect to be re-instated through the union at the very least if this job fair thing doesn't work out?? What do I do here?? I desperately need a job and the area I live in can take months to find one. I need this job back very badly - I have medical supplies, pet food, groceries, and rent that I cannot afford right now. Not to mention this job pays a bit over the minimum wage and with the amount of costs I have I can't find a different job that pays less.

2024.05.13 18:57 CommanderMandalore [OH] What should you do if you are misclassified as an independent contractor vs being an employee?

My wife who doesn’t have a reddit account is employed by company A who is basically a virtual temp agency but her day to day duties are controlled by company B which is basically being a customer service rep for a company very similiar to Onstar except it isn’t GM. Both companies are either based in the USA or have significant presence. Company B laid off all of there employees in this division like 2-3 years ago and replaced them with independent contractors. She has an attendance policy, quality and other performance metrics she has to maintain if she wants to keep this contract. Her pay rate is non-negiotable. She has limited control over when she works. She does not get paid for training or any type of continuing education or refreshers. She does not paid if she doesn’t get any calls that hour. Her contract has no end. She is eligible for health insurance though she would have to pay 100 percent of cost. She has no taxes taken out. According to what I can find she is considered an employee as determined by either the DOL or IRS. If she makes a formal compliant does she have any protections? Would she be eligible for unemployment?

2024.05.13 18:18 Ok-Programmer-8688 Nova Credit for confirming Income? (CA)

Hi all,
New to the sub and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for by searching, so I'm making my first post.
I've recently applied for an apartment in central CA and when I finished the application through the property management portal I received an email from Nova Credit. The stated purpose was to use this 3rd party site to verify my income, but when I began following the process it asked me to log into my bank account through their site. This set off some red flags for me and I was wondering if anyone has experience with this, but mostly is this legit?
  1. Asking me to log into my bank account?
  2. Proof of income via my bank transactions instead of pay stubs.
  3. The property management company never mentioned Nova Credit at all, and I haven't been able to get ahold of the property management company.
  4. There was some inflated sense of urgency, if I don't do this in 48 hours I'll lose my application fee.
I've usually provided proof of income via pay stubs so I don't know why they'd need me to log into my bank account. I've not been able to contact the property management company since I applied on Saturday. I've tried calling this morning and haven't been able to connect to ask more about this either.
The only thing that felt legit is that Nova Credit did know where I'm applying to and had some basic details. The email was sent right after I finished my application as well.

2024.05.13 17:36 AdvancedHedgehog8253 First week back (US)

I live in western New York- I was a GM 7 years ago for a Mcds until I had a child and switched into the insurance industry for the last 6 years doing sales. I’m back at Mcds again and I hate that I’m looking for jobs still bc I do love working for the company. But $17/hr is not enough money- I know I’m doing great, they asked if I’d be interested in management again.
What are managers making per hour these days? I’m just curious because I’m applying for other jobs that pay more but there office jobs and I know I’m happier working for Mcds
I am working for one of the busiest restaurants in western New York.
The customers love me- I’ve received tons of surveys on my customer service skills.
I’m a great employee- I stay busy, I don’t go on my phone, if I’m not with a customer than I’m cleaning something

2024.05.13 16:57 vectaur Reliable extended warranty company?

I guess this is more "ask a service writer" but I'm throwing it out anyhow since I'm guessing you guys get some of the dirt through the service channels.
I'm updating my Tacoma to a new 2500HD Silverado (yes, a downgrade in some ways, but I need the capability). I work from home and don't drive it much, maybe 5-7k miles a year, most of it is towing our camper.
I have gotten extended warranties through the dealer on a couple of past vehicles: an Outback and on the Tacoma.
The Outback warranty I used multiple times and had good experience. It paid for itself. The Tacoma, however, just ran out of its factory warranty not too long ago and I haven't had to make any claims on the extended one (yet).
I'm realizing that the experience with Subaru was good because the warranty was directly through Subaru. It didn't really sink in with me that the Tacoma one is not.
There is not a 1st-party warranty offered through GM for the Silverado. Reading some horror stories online, I'm increasingly concerned that maybe 3rd party warranties are too unreliable to be worthwhile and I should just sock the warranty premium away in a savings account somewhere. However: is there a warranty company out there that reliably pays out without too much red tape and, if so, what company(s) and any idea where I would find it?

2024.05.13 16:53 MohnJaddenPowers [Online] [Fate] [Eastern US] [Weeknights after 6:30] The Franchise Wars: Serving Breakfast 'til 11, Danger Served ALL DAY LONG (Rated PG-13)

"Taco Bell was the only restaurant to survive the Franchise Wars. Now all restaurants are Taco Bell." -Lt. Lenina Huxley, Demolition Man
It is the year 2009. The metroplex of Miando stretches from Miami and the growing military presence of Homestead all the way to the Federated State of East Disney. The line at the drive-thru is getting long... the UN is concerned about the stability of Wendy's... 7-11s are devoting floor space to nightclubs... and the simmering tensions between the franchises will soon spawn the greatest corporate conflict the East Coast has ever seen.
Somewhere in the southwestern suburbs of Miando, not too far from the heavily-defended walls of Interstate 95 and the ruins of the Miami Zoo, a pay phone rings and sets into motion the events which led to the culinary world shifting on its axis. Which of you is going to pick up the phone?
The Franchise Wars is a Fate RPG campaign I've run once with friends and family - it's new, improved, and maybe even super-sized for an additional 39 cents! It's inspired by 90s action movies (and quite literally themed around one throwaway line from Demolition Man). PCs are members of the lowest rungs of society, struggling to make ends meet as the Franchise Wars erupt.
I'm still relatively new as a Fate RPG GM but I've been playing TTRPGs on and off for the last 20ish years. I'm dedicated to ensuring players have a fun time in a respectful, friendly environment that doesn't have to be high fantasy, cyberpunk, or cosmic horror. I run an LGBTQIA+ friendly game, I encourage role-playing and roll playing to the degree of fun, and I want to show a good old cinematic time in what I hope is a nifty, engaging "high tech for 1993" setting.
I'd like no more than 3-5 PCs. We'll run things in scheduled Discord sessions (play-by-post RP can optionally happen) with either Tabletop Simulator or TaleSpire. Games will probably be EST weeknight evenings. Thus far Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays might be doable. Hit me up if you're interested!

I've been trying to sell them on StubHub and Twitter, but since the show is next week, I thought I'd try here, too. They're both in the 21+ balcony and were originally Platinum pricing (ew), but I am willing to sell them for a discounted price at this point. Definitely not making a profit (I never wanted to, I only ever listed them for face value).
I can provide any proof you'd like so you're comfortable that I'm not a scammer. I use PayPal or Venmo goods & services only. Please comment here or send me a message if you're interested!!

AITA for "trying to control" my gf's money?

I, 29, hate debt. It's nothing but a weight around your ankles to keep you from moving ahead with your life. I was lucky enough to get scholarships for most of college, and paid off the loans I did have to get ASAP. I did go ahead and buy a new car for the increased safety features, but only have a few thousand left on that loan, because again, aggressive paying it off. I just bought a house because a mortgage is half of what my old apartment rent was, but I plan on being aggressive with this too, and hopefully have it paid off in a fraction of the time. Long story shit, I fucking hate debt. Makes me very anxious and feel physically sick.
My gf, 29, on the other hand, has a ton of debt, and doesn't really care. She has student loans, her car, and her credit card, and is making the bare minimum payments so she has extra money to play with each month.
Because I do love her, and could theoretically see myself spending my life with her, I made her a deal - she could live in my house, rent, grocery, and utility free, until her debts were all paid off. With her salary, it would take her about 1.5 years to pay it all off if she put the max amount she could towards them. It would then become our house, and she would help take half of the payments so we could be on a more equal footing. She accepted this without question, and we even sat down to look over her finances, budget, pay stubs, everything, so we could make a comprehensive plan.
Well, the other day her cell rang while she was in the shower, so I picked it up. Turns out, it's a debt collector! I confronted her about this when she got out and dressed, since it's been a few months and she should have been able to pay off at least the smallest loan in full, and it turns out she just stopped paying everything! Let everything go into default, since "You'll just pay it when we're married."
I then made it very clear that we weren't getting married anytime soon, not until her debt was gone, and she knows my stance on keeping long term debt. This upset her, she started yelling at me, and I made it very clear she had three options - follow our deal and pay off her debt, pay me back for the last few months I've apparently funded her lifestyle, or leave and go stay with her brother. Huffy, she packed a bag and left, saying we'd talk about this later when I'd "calmed down." I made it clear there was nothing to talk about, and I'd have her stuff packed by morning.
The last few hours, however, her entire family's called, our mutual friends have called, everyone's called to put in their two cents on how I was being too controlling with her money. I see it as her being a freeloader, especially since she knows my anxieties around being in large amounts of debt (parents lost everything in '08, we were homeless for a year, I refuse to do that again). AITA here?
Edit: Thanks for the silver, whoever you are! And damn, this blew up. I posted right before I crashed last night, so I'll read and respond to people soon.
Edit 2: And a gold?! Shit guys, I'm honored. Thank you very much!

I got down to “You’ll pay it when we’re married” Dude, run. She just told you exactly what she sees you as. Oh, NTA Adding an edit in response to OP’s update: I highly recommend you change your locks if you haven’t done so.

AnonBamp
Exactly break up while you can, unless she miraculously changes her ways

MonkeyWrench
She likely won't change her ways which means the only way to not get saddled by her debt is to make it clear that there is no marriage until she is debt free. After that, I would still be hesitant because the opinion about debt and money is so drastically different and it will be a constant source of problems in their marriage.

Kjeldoriann
Yeah pre nup would be the only way but even then, too many red flags.

Lucian_0216
NTA. Originally I was gonna say it's a little controlling, however once you said she just stopped paying, claiming that YOU would pay for HER DEBT when you both got married, the game changed. At this point, it only seems like she's using you to fund her irresponsible behavior and lifestyle. I don't think at this point it's best to try to "work through it". She's revealed her character, especially with telling every mutual of yours her side to make you seem like the bad guy. Just break it off.
fllyl
Even before it got to the part where she stopped paying it was not controlling because he offered the deal to her he didn't impose it on her and she had a choice and she willingly took it.

**Judgement - NTA*\*

Update - 12 hours later

Update: I've got some friends coming over after work to help me take the rest of her stuff over to her brother's house. Been a long night, full of phone calls and people yelling at me and a long voice mail of her crying, but after reading what yall said, this is the right call. I want someone who loves me, not my money. Thanks yall, and good luck to everyone out there. Stay safe!

Run. You offered her a sweetheart deal, and she’s treating you like she treats her bank. If her friends and family have an opinion, maybe they can start paying off her debt.

AggravatingQuantity2
Oh man for sure. If this was me I'd be throwing my entire paychecks towards that debt besides essentials. This girl is nuts.

sheworksforfudge
No joke! I dream of a situation where I can devote almost all my income toward paying down debt. I can’t believe she’d look that gift horse in the mouth.

AsteRISQUE
She looked that gift horse in the mouth and tried pulling out the tongue
