Hi! So I’m an active seller on Poshmark, Mercari and eBay, but I’ve been having trouble moving certain items, so it was recommended to me to try Facebook Marketplace, which I did. …..3 months later, and the only messages/interest I’ve received are from would-be scammers. They all start out asking for my phone number and address, and when I give them my free number from the 2nd Number app, along with a public location to meet, they either block me or their profile disappears entirely. I do well sales-wise on the other sites, Poshmark in particular, so I am just baffled. Not one sale - not to mention - not one legitimate interested buyer since I began listing on Marketplace 3 months ago. (I sell new and gently used high-end and contemporary women’s clothing). Am I doing something wrong to attract so many scammers?? Or is this just the par the course? I have friends who’ve found a lot of success on Marketplace, and I’ve seen fellow Redditors report the same. Is it just me?! If it helps, I currently have my listings set for local pickup and for outside shipping - Could that be a factor? Any insight/advice is appreciated, as I’m pretty new to Marketplace (and clearly am failing at it, lol). Thanks for any help!

-Fixing descriptions of older items on Vendoo (I will provide the text prompt I use for ChatGPT to fix them, and you will need to check all 800 listings to ensure they are correct)
-Setting up manual price dropping on Mercari and Grailed for all 800 items in Vendoo and on each site.
-Checking each listing on each platform to ensure every item is in the right category and using fashion tags correctly, for all 800 items on all 6 platforms through Vendoo.
-Ensuring every item that can be cross-listed is indeed cross-listed; going through each item to ensure it is properly cross-listed to each platform (some items cannot be cross-listed, e.g., Kidizen does not allow men's clothing, but aside from these exceptions, everything should be cross-listed)

I commonly see this sentiment that the Internet ruined humanity but I would like to say it's actually humanity that's ruined the Internet. We created the Internet and we've ruined the Internet.
You can't go anywhere on the Internet without coming across some human being shitty. You go on a dating app? Shitty people with fake account after fake account attempting to scam you out of money, or rob you or whatever it is.
You can't go on an online game without some shitty person attempting to ruin everyone else's fun by hacking or actively ruining their gameplay.
You can't post things to sell on marketplaces without being bombarded with bot messages attempting to scam you.
You can't go on social medias/forums without seeing people attempt to manipulate your emotions for their own emotional support/boost (trolling, etc) or just being the utmost typical person/walking trope imaginable.
Everywhere you go on the Internet there's someone attempting to cause you financial, emotional, sometimes physical, etc harm. Yeah there seems to be more good people than not but the others really ruin things a lot of the part even with their minimal numbers.
You can't even make a simple post in a Facebook community without some scam account attempting to get information from you with questions (a lot of them being security style questions) or to get you to tap a link to either put something on your device, log you, etc.
In almost every comment section you see either one of these, a combination of these or all of these; racism, sexism, trolling, anti natalism and just extreme hatred in general, disrespect, being rude/outright, assumptions upon assumptions, the inability to accept people's religious (or lack of) beliefs, personal opinions and other ways of life, others repeating each other's top comments in an attempt to get Internet attention, etc. There's a lot of good comments too don't get me wrong but you're almost never able to go to one comment section without seeing it to some extent.
Then you have the constant political back and forths. The amount of accessible NSFW content to children (and honestly some of it shouldn't be accessible to anyone, adults included). The amount of fucked up/backwards sentiments just freely flowing around. The predatory data farming and information mining. The fact SEO has pretty much been ruined by companies and individuals skewing the search results for their own benefit, the fact AI chats, etc have incorporated into it making so many results just redundant/fake, that companies prioritize money over accuracy/use ability, the fact marketing has been allowed to get to where it's gotten (every single thing on the Internet having marketing connected to it), the people that are out to scam, finesse and outright rob you (eBay, marketplaces, fake Amazon stores, Craigslist, etc).
Unfortunately we as humans have been like this before the internet, the Internet just gave these people a networking platform. Yeah maybe the Internet did influence a lot of people to do these things, or opened more doors to do these things or taught people how to do these things but these things are human society.
The Internet didn't destroy humanity, humanity destroyed the internet, which was supposed to be (and continues to be) a useful tool for countless of things. Human greed, human negativity, human desperation, human selfishness, human ignorance, human hatred, etc all made these things (and the countless more examples I could have given) possible.

I am logging into nosurf because I've not been here for a while, and I promised that if I successfully managed to go no-surf, or at least low-surf, I would tell you all about it and what helped me.
I got my new phone a little over 3 months ago (February 8th) and gave my iPhone to my stepson, though I warned him it would not improve his life, at least it saved him some money. The phone I bought was a Qin F22 Pro, which although a full-on Android capable device, has a very small screen, making it incredibly annoying to use for any great length of time. However, it still gives me access to Spotify, Audible, my banking app, and email, so I have not had to become a complete Luddite. I also bought a Camp Snap camera which I absolutely love. It has a real lo-fi dynamic and NO SCREEN, so you just point and shoot and don't worry about it.
I just found that my screen time dropped from day one, and even when I was tempted to browse mindlessly, it never lasted very long. My daily screen time has dropped from around 6-7 hours to around 50 minutes daily. Most of that is SMS messages with my wife. I've gone from 80 unlocks daily to around 20, and these figures are improving all the time as I learn to ignore my phone more.
A couple of things have really helped me:

• Reading: I have managed to spend more and more time reading actual books. At first this was very hard going, but now it is easy, and it only took about two weeks to settle down. I'm currently reading about a book a week.
• Stoicism: I am really getting into stoic philosophy, which has helped enormously with improving my mindset and my habits, check stoicism if interested.
• Journaling: I bought a big notebook and I started reflecting each day. This has helped me to stay focused and hold myself accountable.

The changes have been immense. I no longer feel like a massive piece of shit all the time. I am getting out of the house more. I am back in the gym and building some muscle. I am eating much more healthily. I have lost around 20 pounds. I am doing some baking, which I used to love but found I didn't have time for when I owned a smartphone. I am getting out of bed earlier, and my average daily step count has gone from around 1000 to about 7000 daily, as I often just go for a walk when I am feeling bored, stifled, low in mood, or lazy. Sometimes I walk for hours and get 15-20k steps and I always feel good about it. My body hurts but in a good way, instead of those weird aches from lying on the couch in one position for half the day and being a fat waste of space. I am writing my novel which had been on a hiatus for about a year. I've been redecorating my study and decluttering my life, and I can see the beginnings of a new, more peaceful environment taking shape around me.
Most of the positive change has been in my mindset. I still have a Facebook account and very occasionally I log in there to see what all my geographically distant friends are up to. I honestly no longer understand the appeal. People posting selfies and everyone commenting on it just makes me laugh, it's so absurd, it's a very weird echo chamber and utterly devoid of meaning. Even browsing Facebook feels like a massive wase of time and there are real-world things I would so much rather be doing. I haven't even looked at Instagram in weeks, and I never visit YouTube any longer. I look at Reddit a couple of times a week usually for around 20 minutes to catch up on subs that chime with my lifestyle aspirations, (mostly stoicism, literature, and my sports team.) I feel so much more positive and lighter in mood and outlook. I can feel my enthusiasm for life returning.
I am not going to say that all of this has come about simply because I changed my phone, but changing my phone has been the first step in a series of adjustments that I was determined to make. It hasn't always been easy, the first couple of weeks were very weird. I was always at a loose end and it felt like the days were incredibly long. I constantly picked my phone up only to realise there was nothing on it to do, so I'd put it down again. So, the new phone was a big help, but I had to be determined and remind myself continually, especially in the early days, of what I was doing and why.
It would be so hard to explain in words how it has changed my life in the most fundamental way. I have explained some of the shift here, but there is something deeper going on as well. It is as though life is richer and more poignant than it was when I was addicted to my phone. Music sounds better and I am more enchanted by it. I can read books now and become immersed. I recently read Tolkien's Unfinished Tales and was completely transported, a state of being that I thought I had lost, but no, it was like being a kid again, totally absorbed in a story, and living the highs and lows with the characters. I had real emotions from reading! I now watch a film and find myself being similarly transported. Sometimes it almost brings me to tears to watch a particularly moving piece of cinema. I had this happen yesterday when watching Gladiator (again). The bit where he sees his wife and little boy, and I felt such a rush of feeling, it was powerful, and I haven't had that happen for years. At least not nearly to such an extent.
So, on every level, this is the best thing I have ever done to improve my life, my health, and my mindset. I am never going back. I wish you success in your journey and hope that my experience inspires you.

Mercari Updated Selling Fees

At the end of March, Mercari implemented significant changes. Now, selling on Mercari is free of charge, aligning with the marketplace's goal to redefine standards for peer-to-peer transactions and attract more sellers. On the other hand, buyers face an additional charge of $0.50 plus 2.9% of the transaction price. Additionally, buyers can return items for any reason, free of charge. Also note that sellers now incur a fixed $2 fee per balance withdrawal (not per transaction).

FYI to hopefully save others some time and stress in the future. If you're having an issue and it seems more like the app is the problem, rather than your sensor, try logging out of the app (go to Settings > Account options). This worked for me when other typical troubleshooting wouldn't (fully closing and reopening app, turning off/on Bluetooth, restarting the phone). Maybe it's obvious, but I thought that one of these "harder" reset options would have been more likely to fix a problem (and the log out process itself is not obvious/intuitive).
What happened: I applied a new sensor last night and all seemed fine until about noon today. I was looking at my averages in the app, then when I tried to return to the "Home" section to see my current reading, the blue screen reading "Sensor Starts in 0 minutes" appeared instead. However, after waiting a bit, I could see that the app was still recording the sensor data in the "Daily Graph" section (I could still access the other sections of the app and my data appeared correctly). I tried the other troubleshooting steps previously mentioned and was halfway to getting a new sensor via Facebook chat with Abbott support when they suggested logging out.
I did have to push a little and repeat myself to get the rep to focus on the app rather than the sensor. They're probably used to sensor failure being the usual culprit, so it's understandable they might jump to that conclusion, but that's why I'm posting here in case it saves someone else the trouble! I really didn't want to have to wait for a new sensor, as this is my last one on hand and I won't be able to my next refill from the pharmacy for 7-10 days. Abbott might have been able to get a replacement to me faster, but I'd still be sticking my fingers for a few days at least.
Do NOT uninstall and reinstall the app if you can help it; per previous threads, you will lose all data in the app (e.g., 90-day averages), though it will still be available in LibreView.

So I know how nothing of hacking and technology. My Whatsup app got hacked, I had texts open. They took over everything, my email, my social media. I'm learning how to correct it the best I can. Tired deleting Google mail. That didn't work. But this is not my question. My question is, it got so bad that they even cloned my phone. Like how bad is this? The screen started twitching, and one day I couldn't log into it. I thought I had dried it out some, and was able to log into it the day I bought a new phone on the same plan, with the same number. I realized it was my old phone, didn't log out of anything and rebooted it. Facebook was taken over, I couldn't make any changes, because I could not keep my password mine., Whatsup app was added to one of the accounts which I didn't do. I deleted all my friends, because I didn't know what to do. I also rebooted this phone, twice I think. The first time I noticed a couple duplicates of apps like Google. And the second time I noticed it was downloading way more, so I stopped the download and made a new account. I just got a new phone, and it is glitching. All new information. New service etc. Curser moving on its own. Some weird gray G for Google logo at the top and a blank screen window that popped up and magicaly went away. My husband's PayPal account was broken into today, he deleted the app, deleting all the notifications in his email and called his bank. I'm at a loss. Do I log back in on my old phone to log back out? Or just contact Google and all the companies? Do I contact all my contacts attached to Google and tell them what?
Do I get new wifi? Just found out that my Avast app lock magicaly had a the apps unlocked.

Do you think Facebook will last forever?? I think unlike other social media sites Facebook will stand the test of time. Because it's used by everyone no matter the age. And unlike other apps Facebook is where people share their family activities and photos for other family members who before Facebook wouldn't have had the ability to keep up with long distance family. So my generation as kids got Facebook accounts.... And stuck with them. Later our parents also joined and now we are adults having kids and repeating the same process. Facebook will last from now on. Updates over the years will occur. But the main things Bout Facebook will forever remain the same
