For context, I’m a customer, not a dasher. I’m sick today and I had ordered some medicine from Walgreens, and decided to Double Dash a few snacks from Aldi since the option was there. A while goes by, and I get a call from my dasher. She had already picked up my medicine at Walgreens, but told me that the payment wasn’t going through at Aldi. It seemed that she thought the reason for this was that my payment had declined for the secondary charge when I did the Double Dash, and I’d never been in this situation before so I went to my app to look, and it said that my payment had gone through and had a time stamp of when my card was charged. I relayed that information to her and she said she’d try again. She called me back a few minutes later and told me it still wasn’t going through. I wasn’t sure what I could do, so I contacted support via the app. Support told me they’d talk to my Dasher, and that’s the last I heard from either of them. (It’s worth noting that we were both kind and understanding with one another on the phone, she seemed very sweet and was willing to wait as long as she needed to while it got sorted out)
After a little more time, my Dasher arrived and dropped off only my medicine, not the Aldi order. I went to my app and saw that my second part of the order seemed to have been reassigned to a different dasher.
I think that there was an issue with the Doordash card/Apple pay, and that my original Dasher had her time wasted trying to get her card to work at Aldi when she never got the tip for that portion of the order. Assuming that is what happened, I added to her tip to try to compensate for her time lost.
My question is this: If you are a Dasher, do you have experience with this type of situation? If so, Did I take the right steps on my end? I hate to think that this put a damper on her day and would like to make sure I know what to do should this ever happen again. Thanks!

I just bought a new tracfone and want to activate it. At the website I clicked activate and told it give me a new number. Then I put in the zip code as requested. Then I put in the serial number on the red card and it shows the green check mark as if it is an accepted number. But when I hit continue to I don't go any further than the screen that I entered the serial number on. It acts like it needs an 18 digit serial code when the phone only came with a 15 digit serial code. I am totally confused on what to do next. I have no way of calling anyone

I do like the idea but my concerns outweigh the positives for me.
My first concern is it will show loads of patterns that mean nothing. For example there is plenty of Bronuts here I upvote whenever I see them and I'm sure vice versa on the daily. If one of the positives is supposed to be spotting unusual amounts of upvoting will that not just lead to nearly every Bronut in the daily being accused of manipulation?
Second concern is simple, it will look very fucking messy.
Third concern I'll finish with is I cannot be arsed having to type !upvote all the time (but I will if I have to) if I come back to my phone and have 8 replies to a comment I've made on here I'm going to upvote all 8. If this came into effect you're telling me I've gotta write !upvote 8 times rather than 8 swift taps?

Hey guys. I’ve lived in Portland for a few years now but want to move to Seattle to have a greater opportunity pool in the tech space. I also love moving to new places and I know Seattle will be right up my alley just from the nature activities alone.
My question is if what you’re getting by living in the city is worth the cost of living. Because it’s quite a bit more expensive than PDX.
In my perspective, it’s similar to Portland except it’s much more of a big city with more opportunities. This is the main reason for my consideration.

Hey all,
I was looking into handheld PCs as a way to game on the go, but I already have a switch. Then I looked at my laptop (a 2015 MacBook Air) and decided it could use an upgrade. As someone in the apple ecosystem, it seems difficult to switch out of it (l have an iPhone, a basic iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods, however i do have a surface 7 pro that I really like using for school), and move onto a windows laptop that can actually game (apart from low settings Minecraft on my current laptop).
People complain about their phones and computers not syncing well if their two different OS, which I understand… but my computer is so old that it struggles to do anything with my newer iPhone, so this isn’t a big concern for me. Especially since I already have a surface 7 tablet.
I’ll mainly be playing multiplayer games, and AAA titles on this new laptop.
So my questions are: People who have switched, are you enjoying the windows laptops better? Any recommendations for a gaming laptop that can handle light schoolwork applications (mainly graphing and analytics tools) sub $1500? Should I stick with Apple and get something like a steam deck for gaming?

I feel horrible. Long time friend told me a couple months ago they have dementia. They are on other side of country, visiting not an option. This was devastating news.
Previous to this, any phone conversation with them would last hours. It was hard to get them off. Now, it’s impossible. I feel like such an AH. I feel so selfish when their situation just blows.
First, they want to schedule regular times to talk. I just don’t have the luxury of that. I have a family. I take care of an aging parent who moved in with us. Work full time. Life pulls me in every direction. And my brother is going through an incredibly complicated situation that is also taking up any free time I’d have.
They called again today now from a blocked number. I was at the store picking up socks and last minute items for the kids. It was my break from work. I said I would try and call them back. I asked if they were “ok.” Like maybe something more emergent happened.
I get they are not “ok.” But I was trying to assess if it is status quo stuff or true crisis right now stuff.
I haven’t had a chance to call them back. Had to bring one of my kids their cleats they forgot at home for practice. Then had a meeting. The problem is I’ve tried setting hard stops for talking to them. “Ok, I’ve got a meeting at 3pm.” It’s pointless. Then it’s “call me back after. We can eat dinner on the phone.”
I’m so overwhelmed with life as it is. I don’t have 5 minutes to myself which is why I post then ghost off for hours or days. I feel horrible. I know our time is limited before they don’t know me at all. They are incredibly important to me. I can’t find a realistic solution. I tried to do the scheduling thing but just isn’t working that way for me right now. The demands of work, household. So having to break those “dates.” Is worse. They’ve now called 5 times since the call at the store. Answering “I would love to talk to you, but I have a meeting” has no value.
I had a stomach bug a few weeks ago. And texted and said I was violently ill from both ends. Couldn’t talk. They said “I’ll talk to you from the bathroom.” Bro, I’m hurling. I just want to die in a puddle.
I feel like the biggest piece of shit. This person is looking at the end of their life. I could have called them back in the time I took to write this. However, it wouldn’t have been enough. And I’m resuming my work after I hit send.
Can people help me navigate this? I care about them. I’m devastated someone so amazing is going through this. I know if I don’t make time now there is no do-over. I’m just so overtaxed. I can’t be in 10 places at once. I’m trying to set boundaries but it feels impossible. Clearly, I need Reddits help.

I don't know if what we need is an app or a shortcut or what, but we are looking for something...
I live in an apartment that has five units total. It's basically an old Victorian house that has been split up. We all share access to a laundry machine and washer on the main floor, and it's hard to keep track of when they are in use. We have a text thread where we usually just end up asking or saying "whoever has laundry in...it's ready to be moved."
We're looking for an easier way to monitor this, and we all have iPhones. I know there have to be a million creative ways out there to do this, but I'm drawing a blank, and I can't seem to find an app that would work for us (one seems to want me to say what school dorm I'm located at...).
The simplest version of what we need would be an iPhone shared note that says...
Washer - In use Dryer - Open
...where we manually go in and edit it each time. This would get annoying, and I think my housemates would be more likely to use it if there was a widget or something they could quickly tap. Even if it's like a green button that turns red and vice versa.

Why does new games n television just the media as a whole have such a strong presence of demons in it these days?
Im a 1991 baby and the world is much different now. But within the past 15 years seems like the media has a strong presence of demonic ideology. Just got a new Series 9 on 10.3.1.
I'm trying to update to 10.5 but I'm in some weird loop. If I click to install on the Apple Watch itself, I get a message that says: "To install the Apple Watch, view and accept the terms on your iPhone."
So I click this. I get a pop on my iPhone that says watchOS Terms & Conditions: please review the watchOS terms and conditions to install the update. I click "Open App".
Then on my iPhone I get an explanation of what WatchOS 10.5 contains and some notes about the watch needing to be on its charger (it is), and to be within range of my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi (both are connected to the same Wifi just inches away from each other).
There is a "Download and install" button on my iPhone with a spinner next to it. It just spins, and spins, and spins. Like 5 minutes.
Go back to the watch and try again, brings me right through this same loop. I'm extremely confused as what to do next here. Looking online for instructions not seeing this situation covered. It seems like people are updating on the watch itself just fine. If there are some terms I need to accept, but where the heck are they?!

I'm thinking about upgrading my Pixel, currently I have a P6 I replaced the screen and I'm using a P5 meanwhile, is really nice I totally forgot how really good is it to be a 4 year old phone.

Basically the title. I turned 19 this year but I’ve had some ongoing health issues, some of which stemmed from before I turned 18 and after, and involve numerous services. I have had an in-person appointment for all of these isusses where I’ve clarified that as I’m over 18 I want to be informed directly about my healthcare, and have given my personal phone number to be put on file. However, not once have I ever been called directly and instead my mother has, leading to a mixup where she believed the appointment was for her and turned up. Additionally, they called her regarding a surgery they want me to have and claimed that I needed to confirm if I want to go ahead with it, yet sent her the form for doing so.
So I’m asking is there a way for me to be contacted directly instead? I’ve had this conversation with them at least 3 times (though this is for two separate services).

I (32F) am an intern at a RTF for teens. I am pretty new to the place so figuring out the norms here. I am collaborating with a male therapist to work with a male high school age client. This client has ASD and likes to hug ppl he has a good rapport with as a greeting and as a goodbye. Recently, our rapport has gotten to the point where the client will initiate a hug. I always make it a light side hug. Initially, I didn’t think much of it because my co-therapist is ok with being hugged. But today, my co-therapist was out so I did the session alone for the first time and I realized that I am not comfortable with side hugs or any hugs unless other people are around to witness it.
I plan to discuss this in my next supervision but just looking for more variety of input compared to what my supervisor can provide as one person- for those that work with this or similar populations, what are your boundaries? How do you go about establishing them?

Okay this is in Oklahoma and a lot happened but to summarize basically I've been with this man-child for 3 years almost, I ended up breaking it off after work on Monday (mainly) because of all the issues he has but just blatantly refuses to fix. Immediately after having the discussion he flipped out, throwing things across the room and screaming at me to leave. I stayed at a friend's house that night with nothing but my bag and the clothes I had worn to work. The next day I wake up to a phone call from him where he told me not to bother going back to the apartment because he already let his mom go through all of my things. He said he told her I wanted to fight her (never said that) so she's now determined to kick my ass, and that all of her gang-banger friends now have the addresses of all my family and friends to hurt them as well (this man never remembered my phone number, no way in hell he knows anyone's address lmao but still). I have a witness to this conversation. I also was informed by one of my employees that he had come with his mother to my workplace looking for me, apparently he had been swerving through the parking lot and was acting aggressive and intoxicated. We called law enforcement out and my friend and I went back to the apartment to find it completely destroyed, multiple holes in the walls, and a lot of my furniture was torn apart across the floor, as well several paintings and art pieces that held quite a bit of sentimental value to me. I also found that my medication, makeup,some art supplies, and my medical marijuana paraphernalia has all been taken. His cat was standing on the balcony, I don't know how long she had been outside for. He was not home at the time thankfully, and we had cops standing by while I grabbed some of my things and cared for the animals. Several hours later I was at a friend's apartment on the other side of the complex after submitting the Emergency Protective order petition, id parked far down the road just in case he drove by and surprise surprise he did, I remember hearing the familiar sound of his truck before his mom knocked on the door, I was thrown in a closet to hide and dial 911 while my friend stood at the door talking to them, and thankfully he got them to leave before the police arrived. I can't imagine what might have happened if I didn't move my car down the street. I stayed with a different friend that night for my own safety. The next day went by relatively uneventful until later in the night, we got the EPO and I immediately went and made a bunch of copies before returning to my friend's house on the other side of the complex. I had been in contact with his dad who was using the tracker on his phone to keep me updated on his location, and at this point he had returned to his adoptive parents house in Oklahoma City. At around 20:45 on Wednesday we decided to head back to my apartment to take care of the animals and we found the residence occupied by a couple that none of us recognized. We quickly ran back to my friend's place and called 911, Police came out and removed them from the premesis, and they came out with bags and bags of mine and his things. The woman seemed very confused and had a baby with her, she said that my ex had given her all of it, and that I could take any of my belongings. We went through all the bags and I found several small things of mine, she claims that she was told to stay there and watch over the apartment and to pack his things for him, we got him on the phone (through his dad, I have not spoken to him at all since Tuesday morning when he called me) and he told the officers they weren't supposed to be there and that his key was stolen, and he still sounded heavily intoxicated. Finally everyone left and we went inside to find that everything had been pretty well cleaned up, but the vast majority of my belongings were missing. Adding now my PC, monitor and keyboard, a sewing machine and many yards of fabrics and notions, a cake decorating kit, a small TV and fire stick, a sweing kit from my great-great-grandmother, and a diamond necklace my mother had gotten me for my 16th birthday to the list of missing things. My jewelry box was cleaned out, anything that seemed valuable is now gone, his dad swears up and down they're going to get it all back to me but I don't think that's going to happen. We also found a bread knife with a white-powder on one side of it sitting in the living room, we suspect it to be meth or cocaine (more than likely meth, taking his mother's history and his behavior into account) but when I tried to have it tested the officer told me to just throw it out because it would just be a waste of time. That was the last big event, the last few days have been comparatively quiet aside from getting the PO amended so I can leave the apartment, and his dad texting me, begging me to drop the PO (I won't) I really want to press charges, the court Hearing for the protective order is on the 23rd and I want to be prepared for it, and I have a police report that was approved on Sunday that I have no clue what to do with.
TLDR: Crazy ex gets drunk after breakup, harasses and threatens my entire support system, destroys a bunch of my things and gives away all my valuables to his mothers meth-addicted buddies, and now is hiding behind his dad's hoping I'll drop the protective order.
Do I need an attorney? If so how do I get one? I don't have money right now as I'm trying to get a new place to live, do I still have options? I have a paper trail and witnesses to everything, what is the next step I need to take? Can I press charges for things that happened before we broke up (SA/DV??)? His parents have money and I'm afraid they won't make this an easy fight, but this man has spent his entire adult life having everything handed to him, and walking all over everyone around him. I spent 3 years trying to "fix" him and I want to make sure that after this he won't go off and hurt another girl the same way he did me. Any help is appreciated!

So I just got a 8a pixel and was setting it up, added my fingerprint and then passed my phone to my wife. She wanted to check it out and it was locked when I passed it to her and she put her finger on it to open and it did. I know we don't have the same finger print so that was very freaky to me. I'm not going to use my face to unlock and so I guess I'm stuck with my pin which is annoying. Anyone else have any experiences with this?

My boyfriend (23M) and I (21F) have been together since 8th grade. We have spent our whole childhoods together. He is ready for marriage, but I’m hesitant on if I even want to marry him. Long story short, I am feeling a little unfulfilled in the communication department. He is not empathetic, he is not super emotionally intelligent, and he doesn’t have great conversations when we are out with friends. When we eat with friends, he will often just go on his phone, but when I also just force him off the phone, he tunes everyone out and doesn’t chime in. This is super messy but in the other Reddit post I posted here, I essentially got close to one of my friends, I feel like the banter I’ve been looking for has been filled by a guy friend who might have feelings for me. I’m choosing to distance myself from the guy friend,(obviously) but since this has happened, I can’t help but question whether this is a deal breaker. We’ve been together for 7 years. He is my best friend, but he doesn’t talk to me. It’s not that he’s a closed book, but rather he’s an empty book. There’s nothing on his mind, ever.
