2024.06.06 15:20 daffofil-lady Embroidering Newborn Clothes? Yay or Nay?

Hi there!
I have been embroidering on and off for a couple of years. Most everything I embroider is for me or if someone asks for something small. Recently, I found out my best friends are having their first kid. They've decided on Winnie the Pooh as nursery/kid's room theme, so I've been looking for baby and toddler stuff to buy her that's got Winnie all over it.
I found a pack of onesies (0-3 months and 3-6 months) with each character on each onesie. As an added touch, I wanted to hand embroider the baby's name underneath the character photos, but I'm not sure if that would be too scratchy or uncomfortable on a baby's skin?
If it would be - is there a way to prevent this? Or is this just a bad idea from jump? Do you have any recommendations, suggestions, or tips that would help me with this project? Any and all advice would be much appreciated! :) Thank you in advance!

2024.06.05 16:17 Dismal_Dog_17 WIBTA If I said something?

Basically this happened a few weeks ago and I'm still debating if I should say something...
My friends and I do themed parties once or twice a month. We got the idea from those Instagram reels lol. Generally someone will host and plan and the rest of us commit and dress the part, play the games, etc. Me and another girl like to host most of them cuz we're usually the ones who come up with the idea/have houses with the space.
We usually don't ask the others to pay us back unless it's a "fancier" theme. Some higher expense ones in the past were Brigerton, Disney, Harry Potter, etc. (cuz brand stuff are expensive 🥲). I've never really asked the group for more than like $5. $10 max if I REALLY went all out on the food and decor. And I personally just ask for donations and don't make it mandatory.
We recently had our monthly party and i noticed my friend has been offering to host more. Partially think it's cuz I have a toddler and she doesn't like kids. So if it's at her place, I don't have a reason to bring my kiddo. Whereas at my house, I'm obviously going to let my kiddo join in the festivities.
ANYWHO, the real issue was she asked us to chip in this time, and we happily agreed. But she didn't tell us how much up front. We literally had pizza, played some free table games, watched the movie the theme was on, and had some snacks that were bought from Costco... but then she sends me a venmo charge of $30 🤯 there were 6 of us... so she's saying it cost her at least $180?! Like there was no decor, we ate pizza hut, and watched a movie. She did splurge and buy everyone their own pint of fancy ice cream (which I felt was unnecessary cuz i laterally ate 4 spoonfuls... we could've shared a few pints).
I feel blindsided cuz that was way more than what we usually charge each other. I literally ate two slices of pizza, 2 Madeline cookies. Some chips and guac, and the ice cream. I also brought drinks and sorbet for everyone... so I basically paid $60 for very little stuff 🥲 And she didn't mention any of it til way after. I would've brought home more of the leftovers if I knew it was that much! 🥲 I only brought home my leftover ice cream (even tho it melted 😭) and a extra Madeline cookie for my kiddo. Idk where $180 came from tho... maybe she splurged and bought the nicer brand stuff?! But then it feels like she did it cuz we'd be paying for it.
I was telling my husband and although it was a lot, he said technically $30 isn't something to start a fight over. And I should just let it go and keep that in mind whenever she does parties. Which is true... but if she charges $30 for every party from now on, I don't think I can continue 🥲 We have a tight budget and that adds up... I wished she at least mention it ahead of time. Or not splurge on unnecessary things...
WIBTA to confront her? Or is there a kinder way to approach this?
I do love these parties and she is a good friend. Idk if I'm being stingy 🥲

2024.06.05 12:08 hellopriyasharma Simple Friendship Band Craft for Preschoolers

Simple Friendship Band Craft for Preschoolers
Creating friendship band craft for preschoolers is a vibrant activity that combines fun, learning, and the celebration of friendship in one creative package. In addition to helping young learners develop their fine motor skills, this exercise emphasizes the value of friendships in life by introducing them to the fundamental idea of giving and sharing. Designed with toddlers in mind, this book offers a thorough tutorial on how to make meaningful friendship bands that are easy enough to be fun and educational at the same time.
https://preview.redd.it/1ni4ktc49q4d1.jpg?width=1152&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6435aebbf35b99e94dae25c4527fd87698840f93

The Essence of Friendship Bands

Friendship bands are a concrete expression of preschoolers' affection and togetherness, signifying the ties that bind friends together. Involving kids in the creation of these bands can promote a culture of gratitude and generosity at an early age, establishing the foundation for solid, compassionate interpersonal bonds.

Preparing Friendship Band Craft

Gathering Supplies:

  • Opt for soft, colorful yarn or embroidery threads that are gentle on little hands.
  • Select beads with large holes to simplify the threading process.
  • Prepare safety scissors to ensure a safe crafting environment.
  • Have tape or a clipboard ready to secure the strands during crafting.
  • Collect stickers, pre-cut felt shapes, or fabric markers for decorating the bands.

Friendship Band Craft for Preschoolers Step-by-Step

1. Color Selection and Yarn Preparation:

Initiate the activity by discussing the concept of friendship. Ask each child to reflect on their friends' favorite colors, encouraging them to choose yarn that reflects their friend's preferences or personality, promoting thoughtfulness.

2. Measuring and Cutting:

Teach children how to measure and cut the yarn, emphasizing cooperation and assistance among them to foster a collaborative atmosphere.

3. The Crafting Process:

  • Starting the Band: Guide children in tying a starting knot and securing the yarn for braiding or twisting. This step introduces basic knot-making skills.
  • Braiding Basics: Show a simple three-strand braid technique, adapting the method based on the age group and skill level of the children.
  • Bead Addition: Incorporate bead threading into the craft, enhancing fine motor skills and pattern recognition.
  • Personal Touches: Encourage children to personalize the bands with decorations that they feel represent their friendship, allowing for an expression of individuality and creativity.

Learning Through Play

Integrate educational elements subtly within the activity. Discuss concepts such as colors, patterns, counting beads, and the importance of sequences in braiding. This not only enriches the crafting experience but also turns it into a multifaceted learning opportunity.

Safety and Supervision

Highlight the importance of adult supervision, especially when using scissors or small beads that could pose a safety risk. This ensures that the crafting experience remains positive and secure for all participants.

The Joy of Giving

Finalize the exercise with a special gathering where kids can trade friendship bands. This is a critical time to reinforce the social-emotional learning components of the craft by imparting attitudes of kindness and appreciation for one another.

Beyond the Craft

Expanding the Activity:

Consider extending the theme of friendship beyond crafting bands. Encourage children to share stories about their friends, draw pictures of playing together, or even sing songs about friendship, making the concept a recurring theme in your preschool curriculum.

Incorporating Technology:

While the focus is on hands-on crafting, you can also use technology to document and share these moments with parents. Photographs or videos of children engaged in crafting, shared through a secure platform like through a school parent app, can involve the family in the learning journey and celebrate the children's achievements.

Conclusion

Preschoolers' friendship band creation is more than just an arts and crafts project; it's a meaningful experience that fosters fine motor skills, creativity, and—above all—the virtues of empathy and friendship. Preschoolers not only take their first steps in creating with this guided activity, but they also learn the value of friendships and the joy of sharing. Teachers and parents build a generation that appreciates relationships, exhibits creativity, and treasures the small but meaningful act of creating and exchanging a sign of friendship by cultivating these experiences.

2024.06.05 02:32 Background_Square_72 Birthday Theme for a Little one

Hi! May not be the completely appropriate group to ask, but any suggestions i’d love! I would love any redirection if necessary or any constructive criticism on appropriate terminology , etc.
To preface: (again why i said this may not be the best group and if you have any other direction you’d like to point me in we’d love it!!) My little brother has not gotten an official diagnosis yet (he’s 2) , but according to his pediatrician most of the signs are there. My mother has also been working in healthcare (& behavioral health) for 15+ years and noticed things as well. He really only likes solo play, rarely will play with other children if it isn’t one of his siblings (and we’re adults lol!). He pretty much is frustrated when other kids do attempt to play with him, but does very well with parallel play when it involves one of his interests below.
but all in all i post this because my brother has a birthday in august. He will not play with any traditional kids “toy”, or is very uninterested in typical toddler play. His favorite things are Strings (hoodie, shoe string, ballon string, yarn, etc) , Bubbles, Any sort of round object like balloons or bracelets, sometimes ball bit balls but that’s very rare, shoes , and his number one favorite item to play with is SOCKS !! we are looking for a theme to incorporate all of them as well as some activities or games we can incorporate that promote the same parallel play, as we know some of the kids aren’t going to find much interest in running around with socks in their hands as much as he would😂💕.
Some ideas I’ve already came up with as far as activities : Silly string, maybe a ball pit ???, the piñatas where you pull the individual strings, a bubble machine, and that’s about it ! My mom wants an actual theme or concept but my brain is just hitting dead ends ! If all else fails we’ll just make it _____ (his name) themed, as it is his big day after all, and he’s most important .

2024.06.04 20:26 elvie18 Littlespace etsy shopping guide!

I love mystery boxes but also etsy/online shopping in general. I was wondering if anyone would like to talk about their experiences with etsy shops that cater to us. I'd really love to hear about yours, since I'm always looking for new places to try.
I'll start with my experiences!
shopping with EllesLilBoxes has overall been a great experience for me!
number of purchases: 3 things ordered at once
purchases: non-little gift box, agere box, adopted plushie (if I listed everything I got I'd be here for days! but she gives a lot of options to choose from and gives a good idea of what you'll get in your order.)
positives: they were in constant contact with me, making sure they understand what I wanted and fulfilled beyond my wildest dreams. they follow details on requests closely. the quality on the stuff sent was very high. they had a lot of obstacles shipping to the US but never gave up. honestly my best shop experience to date. their tiktok is great with tons of order packing videos.
negatives: international shipping prices. not their fault though! IMO totally worth it.
shopping with LightysSFWregression has overall been a great experience for me!
number of purchases: 3
purchases: bedtime agere box (size large; got a night light as requested, as well as a shark tumbler, a taggie, a pacifier, a coin purse, a notebook, a coloring pad and pencils, a plushie, socks, a tangle, a face mask, a teether and candy), unthemed agere box (size medium; I had asked about a certain themed cup, which I got, and had asked if I needed to order a goth box to get it, since that's what it had shipped with for someone else, was told no, but got some goth items anyway, not sure if they were confused or just figured I'd be into it since I asked! got the cup I mentioned, a plushie, a baby-sized blanket, a pen, stickers, post-its, a Kuromi night light, candy and the same teether pencils and activity pad as last time), petre box (size medium, got gloves, a collar choker, ears, multiple chew toys and a mini blanket like i asked for! also got a coloring book and pencils which aren't on-theme but i still like them, and a mini plush that looks exactly like my own cat! they also remembered my favorite patterns and colors from past orders which is nuts.)
positives: they remember what I like from order to order, which is crazy! Most of the stuff they pick out is stuff I would buy for myself. They can find something for most themes or interests no matter how random. They're great at finding items for middles, not just toddlebaby littles. They cater to requests very well. They're very helpful and responsive. Shipping is usually fast and has never been late for me. They offer caregiver and petre boxes as well as many agere themes.
negatives: failed to notice one of my allergens in a product they sent. i did have one item arrive broken. have gotten some duplicate items. things don't always fit the specific theme of the box. the caregiver box is mainly things for cgs to give to their littles, which i find a little disappointing; having a cg box is a good idea though. they won't make pride/pronoun pins for mspec lesbians/gay men, as those are deemed "problematic" identities, which might be a bummer for people who identify as such. (though obviously their shop their rules!)
shopping with angelicangelgifts has overall been a great experience for me!
number of purchases: 2
purchases: littlespace mystery boxes (received plushies, crafts, Sanrio and other Japanese items, Care Bears, Blue's Clues, coloring supplies, vintage items)
positives: unique, interesting stuff. friendly and accommodating seller. excellent value for the money.
negatives: I think personalization options are limited to what she has on hand and as of this writing she only has one box left available in her store, to my knowledge with no plans to add more.
shopping with btsbaddy has overall been a great experience for me!
purchases: 2 (1 in transit)
purchased items: small Bluey agere box (received paint with water book, water bottle, croc charm, stickers, ear hair clips, snacks, a paci and clip that were thematically relevant to Bluey episodes but not actually Bluey themed), petre box (don't have it yet)
positives: I asked if I could substitute a certain teether I liked in a different themed box. They had none left. They went to two different stores trying to find me one! Even though they couldn't find it at the time I was blown away by that level of dedication. the box was a decent value for the money and they took my favorite characters into account, and my faves are pretty obscure/random (Indy, Winton, Buddy, Jack, PomPom).
negatives: some things in the box seemed random/off theme, smaller boxes use toddler pacifiers instead of adult, which may negatively affect some people's opinions. i've seen reviews state things could be more personalized, i didn't have an issue with that but then i chose a specific themed box to begin with. i just ordered a more open-ended one so we'll see what I get. the value isn't a huge deal for the money but I think it's fine and the customer service is worth paying for IMO.
shopping with littlespaceworld has overall been a great experience for me!
number of purchases: 1
item purchased: littlespace mystery box, on sale (size little; received a puzzle, a mini plush, a tiny sand pail with bubbles in it, a ring toss water toy, a rattle, a teether, play-doh, air dry clay, fidgets, a handmade paci clip, chewelry, snacks, pins, a cup and a spill-proof snack container)
positives: attention to detail is amazing! package definitely made me feel like a kid again! the hand-crocheted clip is gorgeous. the employees are absolutely wonderful and so kind. really got a lot more than i anticipated.
negatives: a lot of dollar store stuff, which I realize is to be expected. their stuff definitely skews towards baby/toddler regressors, so if you like "older" stuff make sure to mention it! (I didn't but that was my fault, and I can use most of the stuff anyway!)
shopping with anxiouskittencrafts has overall been a great experience for me!
number of purchases: 1 but talking to them about a second
items purchased: rainbow/pride agere mystery box (received a BEAUTIFUL deco pacifier, a handmade clip, a Mermicorno figure, stickers, tattoos, a sippy cup and a hair bow), currently talking about a paci clip
positives: I think they might be a mind reader??? I'm not usually into deco pacifiers but this one was perfect for me specifically with its theming (more specific than just "rainbow!"), and so beautiful! The clip goes with it perfectly and is adorable and high quality, with silicone beads. Everything is well made and high quality. You get a listing of what you get in each box with purchase.
negatives: not customizable (at least not yet); if they offer customizable options I may go broke shopping here
shopping with thefluffycornerstore has been a great experience for me!
number of purchases: 1
purchases: adopted plushie! (a little shark)
positives: they added some extra stuffing where he'd sprung a leak and sent him with stickers and the cutest note! Lovely seller.
negatives: presently no longer selling littlespace boxes, which is disappointing because theirs looked really good. individual items however remain for sale.
shopping with pastelwitchbaby has been a great experience for me!
number of purchases: 1
purchases: overstock mystery box (received plushie, coloring book, plain pink pacifier, pink dino bottle, fidget tube, pop-it keychain)
positives: got what was advertised (aside from a bottle instead of a cup, but that's fine! I don't usually use those but it never hurts to have one!), good value for the money
negatives: mystery boxes are no longer available presently, however their crafts are really nice!
shopping with littlespacemb has been a great experience for me!
number of purchases: 1
purchases: paci clip and pouch
positives: terrific quality, adorable prints, the clip uses snaps instead of a string which I really like
negatives: none that I've experienced
shopping with LittlingNickNacks has been overall been a very good experience for me!
number of purchases: 3 (1 currently in transit)
purchases: littlespace lottery spins at 5 and 3 dollar levels (won sticker pacifiers, pacifier clips, stickers, a pin, two sippy cups, socks, a keychain and a bunch of resin planars for decorating)
positives: I like the sticker pacis as an option between plain and deco. They're great about listening to what you like and don't like and will substitute items within reason if there's something you can't use. I've done two of their lottos and haven't gotten anything I didn't like. The mystery/lottos are really varied with tons of choices, the starter packs of various sizes come with all the basics and more, and you can also just buy the items you want outright. So whatever you want, they have you covered. Their TikTok is frequently updated with a lot of fun posts.
negatives: stuff takes a while to ship and is usually later than expected. They do also sell adult themed boxes on their page, which isn't a negative for me personally but is for some. they're currently having a lot of problems with their distributor but hopefully will have things back on track soon. communication has not been great lately but that will hopefully improve once the current issues are under control.
shopping with kittyscutecollection has overall been a pretty good experience for me
number of purchases: 4
purchased items: two custom pacifiers (broke one and got an identical replacement), agere mystery box (dino theme; got a teether, socks, a lot of cute crafts, a ring toss "video game" toy, a toddler puzzle and a wind up train set), Bluey mystery box (items you get are now listed in the shop and are not random)
positives: incredibly accommodating! you get a lot of items for the money. the made to order pacifiers are really good quality. if i didn't have to pay international shipping on top of them, i'd probably think the prices are really good.
negatives: contents of the Bluey box aren't great quality (and not everything is licensed, which was disappointing; that box now advertises what you get). wish you had more theme options beyond dinosaur and unicorn, but they will include items that aren't strictly on-theme. not tremendously personal boxes but they do make an effort to include things you like!
shopping with pinkscriptscribbles has overall been a pretty good experience for me.
number of purchases: 3
purchases made: comfort character custom care package, regular comfort character letters with small packages
positives: my partner loved her letters from SVU characters (I didn't read them as it seemed too personal somehow, but I got her them as a gift), I got one from Bluey and it was pretty good! I haven't bought one of their littlespace comfort character items but I imagine they're similar.
negatives: the packages are pretty impersonal even when you customize them. i realize it's hard to customize for characters you don't know well, but making the effort would be nice.
comfortfandom unfortunately seems to have vanished, they've had a hold on new orders for over six months now; however should they return i cannot recommend them enough, their comfort character letter was perfection, and the package was great too.
revenantrose is a great seller, unfortunately no longer selling littlespace items but great customer service anyway.
littlesplace and thetinypumpkinpatch both ghosted without sending items; I think etsy has since removed both shops.
currently waiting on my first package from dreamypacis.
on my list to try in the future are little4bigs, lizzieslittlemarket, bunwantsaplushie, littlebearboxes, pinkcowpaci, flowersforfaye, lilluvables, angeldreamzshop, foxwoodscoven (if prices decrease again, i'm sympathetic to their need for increased prices to fund a move and recognize that you also need to pay for the vendor's time and effort, but they're simply more money than I can afford to pay at 70 dollars for an extra-small box that contains maybe 15 dollars in contents), smolskyco, madebyannaboutique, yokaiyard96, lilsecretz, and mistyangelco and luciferlupine if they return to etsy.
i probably won't try these shops, as they don't seem like what I'm personally looking for, but I'm adding the names of the other shops I've browsed because you might enjoy looking at them!
shysweeties (price is too steep for me for what you get, but customers seem pleased) littlespacestations (full deco pacis aren't my thing and I'm not a bath person, however their stuff looks like great value and quality) littlebluespace (no shipping to the US but would try them otherwise) chellysboxes (waiting for them to get more reviews with photos but I'd like to give them a chance if I like what I see) cozyfrappie (they only offer a starter pack for littles, which is just stuff I personally don't need, looks good though) sparkledogstudios (the littlespace box contents just aren't things I need personally, shop has good reviews) chiekosboutique (zero reviews so far, waiting to see, shipping price also looks pretty steep unless the small boxes are bigger than i'm picturing) babygirlscornertime (the stuff is SO SO nice and cute, just out of my price range! the prices are fair it's just too much for me) littlespacecornerart (deco pacis only, very cute), littlekittenprints (great print-out littlespace content, not what I need but it looks good, stuff is marked ddlg but it's all sfw) squishyfrogshop (the byo pacifier thing is a great idea and their stuff looks really nice) subbymousecrafts (stuff sounds potentially interesting, waiting on some reviews) teddybearsafeplace (prices are too steep for me but might be in your price range, thrifted mystery box is a cool idea) stardustpacis (no reviews yet) scarlettlittles (deco pacis only) kindyclub (downloadables and comfort character letters) pasiveaggressivepacis (custom deco pacis) clumsylullaby (adopt a stuffie program, v cute) pjkittybootique (themes for the little packages don't appeal to me but they look decent) taurusariespacis (custom pacis) littlemenagerieco (deco pacis, if they ever start doing custom animal crossing ones i'll be there in a second.) pacisandstuffshoppe (deco pacis) littlesugarplushshop (deco pacis) angelsprettypacis (deco pacis) thesirenshoppe (deco pacis) juniorswonderland (mystery box only, no reviews yet)

🔗Tropical Palm Splash Pad Sprinkler for Dogs & Kids

I had the chance to try out the Nib Funboyxbarkbox Tropical Palm Splash Pad Sprinkler in bright yellow, and it quickly became my go-to for keeping my little humans and furry friends entertained on hot summer days. As soon as I connected the hose, the sprinkler shot water up to five feet high, instantly transforming my backyard into a miniature water park.
What really stood out to me was how easy it was to use this splash pad. There's no air or pump required – it simply fills with water, making it easy to set up and enjoy. Plus, the size and durability ensure that it can handle hours of playtime without any issues.
However, one small downside I noticed is that the yellow color may not be everyone's cup of tea. It would have been nice to have more color options available.
Overall, I've been super impressed by the Nib Funboyxbarkbox Tropical Palm Splash Pad Sprinkler. It's a fun and practical addition to any backyard during the warmer months, offering endless hours of entertainment for both children and pets alike.

🔗Dog Sprinkler for Cooling and Playing

https://preview.redd.it/f3uqh0q3ah4d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ce6d8508c9c6cbe8736afbda907ec32e686325d
Last summer, I got my hands on the BigMouth Pet Balloon Dog Sprinkler from PetSmart, and it quickly became the centerpiece of my backyard hangouts. As soon as I inflated it and connected it to a garden hose, my dog couldn't get enough of its refreshing sprays coming from both the head and tail. It's over three feet tall, so even my larger dog friends had a blast running through it.
My favorite part is how easy it is to deflate and store when the season's over, making my backyard cleanup a breeze! . Even though it's a novelty toy and shouldn't be used as a lifesaving device or left unattended with children, I love how well this sprinkler was designed for backyard fun during heat waves. It's a must-have for pet owners who want to keep their furry friends entertained and cool during the hot months.

🔗Durable Non-Slip Dog Splash Pad with Adjustable Spray Height

https://preview.redd.it/dqapbq14ah4d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b1f8ac4ca461cdca62e14438e3539fb90881b95
As a dog owner, I've been on the lookout for engaging and safe playthings for my furry friend. That's when I came across the PETOCAT Splash Pad. Boy, was I in for a treat! Not only does it offer endless hours of fun for my pooch, but it's also perfect for my toddler.
First off, this splash pad is incredibly sturdy. Its thickness is 50% more than other splash pads I've seen, so I don't have to worry about those sharp doggy claws causing any damage. Plus, the adjustable spray height is a game-changer. I can easily control the water flow, ensuring that my little one and my dog can enjoy a splash-tastic time without any safety concerns.
One of my favorite features of the PETOCAT Splash Pad is its impressive size - 67 inches in diameter! This means our entire family can join in on the fun, along with all sizes of different breeds of dogs. And when playtime is over, it's super easy to dry, fold, and store away in the handy mesh bag provided.
However, there's one small downside. The PETOCAT Splash Pad doesn't come with an integrated water source, so a garden hose or another water supply is needed. But this minor inconvenience is a small price to pay for the countless hours of entertainment and memories my family and beloved pets make with this splash pad.
All in all, the PETOCAT Splash Pad has been an excellent addition to our backyard. It's durable, adjustable, and offers hours of enjoyment for both my human and canine family members. Highly recommend!

🔗Durable Paw-Activated Dog Fountain for Outdoor Fun

As a dog lover, I was super excited to try out the FURUISEN Dog Water Fountain Outdoor. I've always been a bit lazy when it comes to refilling my pooch's water bowl, so this paw-activated fountain looked like the perfect solution!
I have to say, setting it up was a breeze. No batteries or electrical outlets required, just connect it to your garden hose and you're good to go. Plus, no more bowls to clean and fill, which is a huge plus.
The fountain itself is made of durable materials, and I can already see it lasting for years to come. Plus, my dog absolutely loves playing with it! He's constantly stepping on the fountain and getting sprayed with water.
However, there are a few drawbacks. The fountain is a bit on the smaller side, so it might not be suitable for larger dogs. And while the included garden hose is a nice touch, it's only 9.8ft long, which might not be long enough for some people.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. The FURUISEN Dog Water Fountain Outdoor has been a game-changer for me and my furry friend. It's a fun, functional addition to our backyard that both of us enjoy!

🔗Inflatable Splash Sprinkler Pad for Pets and Kids

I remember when my little kids and I were looking for a way to beat the summer heat. We came upon the Splash Sprinkler Pad for Dogs and Kids, and it has been a game-changer! Made of Polyvinyl Chloride, this 59" thick pet water play mat is perfect for dogs, kids, and toddlers to have endless fun playing in the water. It's so easy to set up; just connect it to a garden hose or PVC hose and adjust the water pressure to control the height of the water jets.
The Sprinkler Pad's highlight is its combination of a kids pool, water pool, and water toys, providing the most entertaining water play experience on the market. It's a great alternative to traditional kids pools that provides hours of fun for both kids and dogs.
However, one downside is that it can be a bit difficult to drain and dry the mat properly. But overall, this is an absolutely amazing product that has brought countless hours of joy and relief from the summer heat. We love our Sprinkler Pad, and I am confident any family with dogs and kids will enjoy it too!

🔗Large Sprinkler Pool for Dogs and Kids

When the sweltering summer heat hit my backyard, I knew it was time to invest in some fun ways to keep my furry friends and family members cool. Thankfully, the Splash Sprinkler Pad for Dogs and Kids has been a game-changer for us.
The sprinkler pad's 79" diameter was perfect for accommodating various breeds of dogs as well as my energetic children. As soon as we filled it up with water, it became an instant hit among all our pets and kids. The thickened PVC material reassured me that this was a safe and durable choice. It's also comforting to know that it's free from BPA and phthalate, making it safer for our entire family to enjoy!
Setting up the sprinkler pad was a breeze – just connect it to the regular pipe and adjust the water pressure for the desired height. Watching my dogs splash and play in the water while my children run around laughing was a truly heartwarming sight.
Not only is this water toy perfect for keeping everyone cool during those hot summer days, but it's also incredibly easy to transport and store. When the fun is over, simply fold it up and tuck it away until the next adventure.
I do have one warning though – trimming your dog's nails before using the mat is essential to prevent any damage. But overall, the Splash Sprinkler Pad has been an incredible addition to our backyard oasis, providing endless hours of entertainment and refreshing relief from the heat.

  • Installation: Dog sprinklers should be easy to install. Look for sprinklers that require minimal setup time and tools.
  • Size and shape: Opt for a sprinkler that complements your lawn's size and design. There are many shapes and sizes available, including pop-up and oscillating sprinklers.
  • Safety features: Some dog sprinklers include safety features such as automatic shut-off valves or pressure regulators to minimize water waste and potential hazards.

General Advice

Before purchasing a dog sprinkler, evaluate your pet's behavior, your lawn's layout, and the type of sprinkler that will best suit your needs. Also consider the required water pressure, installation process, and any potential safety features. With these factors in mind, you'll be well-equipped to choose the perfect dog sprinkler for your backyard play space. FAQ

  1. What are dog sprinklers?
Dog sprinklers are devices that attach to a garden hose and have sprinkler-like mechanisms that release water droplets or mist. These sprinklers are specifically designed to keep dogs cool and provide a fun water activity for them during hot weather.

2. How does a dog sprinkler work?

A dog sprinkler works by connecting to a garden hose. The water pressure from the hose causes the sprinkler to spin or release water droplets or mist, creating a cooling and entertaining environment for dogs to play in. Some dog sprinklers also have adjustable settings to control the water flow and pattern for added customization.

3. Are dog sprinklers safe for dogs?

Yes, dog sprinklers are generally safe for dogs when used as intended. The water droplets or mist created by the sprinklers help to keep dogs cool and prevent overheating. However, it is essential to supervise your dog while using the sprinkler, as drowning can occur if the dog enters the sprinkler area and is unable to get out safely.

4. How do I install a dog sprinkler?

  1. Disconnect any existing hose nozzle from your garden hose.
  2. Attach the dog sprinkler onto the open end of the garden hose, twisting it clockwise until it is secure.
  3. Find a suitable location in your yard or garden for the sprinkler and ensure that there is no potential hazards nearby, such as sharp edges or heavy objects that could be pulled into the water or cause trip-ups.
  4. Turn on the water supply connected to your garden hose and adjust the water pressure as needed for the sprinkler to function properly and safely for your dog.

5. Can dog sprinklers be used indoors?

No, dog sprinklers are designed for outdoor use only. Using a dog sprinkler indoors may result in water damage to your flooring and household items, as well as potentially create slippery conditions that could be hazardous for both you and your dog.

6. How can I maintain my dog sprinkler?

Maintaining your dog sprinkler is essential for ensuring optimal performance and longevity. Follow these tips:
  • Regularly inspect the sprinkler for any signs of damage or wear, such as leaks or cracks.
  • Clean the sprinkler using a mild soap and water solution, taking care to avoid exposing any electrical components, if applicable, to moisture.
  • Store the dog sprinkler in a cool, dry place when not in use to prevent any damage caused by freezing temperatures or heavy moisture.

7. Which is the best dog sprinkler for my dog?

The best dog sprinkler for your dog depends on various factors, such as your dog's size, breed, and preferences, as well as the dimensions and layout of your yard or garden. Consider features like water pressure control, adjustable patterns, and safety features when choosing the best dog sprinkler for your needs.

2024.06.03 19:27 GamingPhreak Suggestions of games to play

Manifold Garden (2019) -- An indie puzzle game with 360-degree movement that is overwhelmingly positive on Steam. The main gameplay mechanic is manipulating "color blocks" to accomplish goals. The game world is composed of abstract patterns and shapes, but it does have some semblance of a story.
The Witness (2016) -- A indie puzzle game entirely made up of you drawing lines on panels. That seems like lame gameplay, but the game comes up with hundreds of memorable puzzle situations involving just this simple gameplay mechanic.
Firmament (2023) -- Another indie puzzle game, from the maker of Myst. If you've played those Myst games, you are familiar with the gameplay, which involves going to exotic locations and manipulating exotic machinery and gadgetry.
Baldur's Gate 3 (2023) -- This is a landmark but extremely long RPG. I spent 400 hours in one playthrough and still only saw about 10% of the content, due to the humongous number of permutations and paths, which is one reason this game is so highly praised. The main story involves a parasite inside your body, and you try to find out who put it inside you and why.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey (2019) -- Probably the best Assassin's Creed game, in a series that churn out games like bunnies, several of which are of low quality. This is an open-world action-adventure set in ancient Greece. The main story involves you investigating a cult and possibly assassinating its members to uncover its mysteries.
Black Mesa (2020) -- This is a complete remake of Half-Life (1998), the landmark first-person shooter with exploration and puzzle-solving. The remake greatly improves on the alien locations.
Deathloop (2021) -- This first-person shooter puts you in Groundhog Day where you live the same day over and over. It may seem repetitive, but it is actually one continuous and engaging story. And it's fascinating to spot the differences from day to day based on your actions the previous day. Even though this is a single-player game, other players can "invade" your world and fight you (a feature you can disable), adding to the trippy setting of the game.
Tormented Souls (2021) -- An old-school Resident Evil-style survival horror game with fixed camera angles and typewriters for saving games.
Lara Craft Go (2015) and Deus Ex Go (2016) -- These are mobile games, and they are fun, isometric, turn-based puzzle games in the themes of Tomb Raider and Deus Ex. Obviously, you would need a mobile app to capture these gameplays.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (2010) -- This is an isometric shooter-puzzler in the Tomb Raider theme. The main franchise is about the same type of gameplay, so this game is a good adaptation of that.
Outlast (2013) -- One of the best survival horror games ever. You are in an insane asylum where the inmates run the place. One memorable sequence puts you in total darkness with no flashlight, and you have to blindly find your way out.
Among the Sleep (2014) -- A bit lower on scariness, you play a toddler in this survival horror game, where you combat nightmarish visions with your diminutive body.

2024.06.03 10:24 YourNumberOneSimp Making this post to please raise awareness for racism in this game!!

Before I start, I just want to make it clear that at the end of all this please do NOT send these people any kind of threats or harassment over this. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that they probably are just not educated enough or are going through a phase/being influenced by others in their circle.
Short storytime, but this all basically happened only because I had to babysit my best friend's little sister and she asked me if I wanted to play dress to impress with her and naturally I said yes because I really actually loved playing this game with my friends as well when we're bored. Everything was going well so far and actually really wholesome in chat before the next theme, "I'd never dress like this." started.
The drama really started when one of them wore a hijabi and an abaya. At first, everyone thought that they were probably just joking around (even though it's genuinely very unfunny) until when they finally walked the runway, they started talking bad about Muslims.
My first instinct of course especially since I was babysitting my best friend's little sister and said sister was playing the same game as me told her to exit the game for a while and just rejoin because I "disconnected". Of course at first she didn't buy it but as soon as I mentioned I'd buy her the VIP pass she eventually gave in. T-T
After she exited the game, several other players including myself started calling out the person who wore the hijabi and abaya saying that it was really offensive and that if they were Catholic/Christian they should at least respect other people's religions. However instead of saying sorry, they instead started being fatphobic randomly?? and calling Muslim people lots of slurs that luckily got censored immediately.
Now of course with all this drama, you'd assume they didn't win right? But they still came 2nd place with the person they were teaming up with in 1st place. The person who came in 1st place started defending said person who kept insulting other people's religions and even picked a hijabi and an abaya for the next round and at this point I really couldn't take it dealing with them anymore so I just left.
I don't have all the screenshots, especially the ones with fatphobia in them because lots got censored in chat but I'll link some images down below this post for evidence.
Again, you guys might be wondering why I yapped so much about a dress-up game but no matter in what situation you are, racism shouldn't be tolerated and shouldn't even be a thing in a game where lots of KIDS play. Thanks!
Edit: Based on some of the comments on how u guys wanna help report the acc, my bad! I actually just found the screenshots now of their accounts since I do have lots of pictures in my gallery. Since I think reddit automatically changes the @ to u/i, i'll be leaving a space between them to avoid pinging random reddit users. Thanks again!

2024.06.03 01:17 Elegant-Animator-695 Pls provide perspective or advice (Father needs help)

Hi everyone - I’m writing this knowing that I’ll probably get shit from some people but it’s me being honest.
I’m married, have 2 kids, and I love my family. One toddler, one infant. My Unfortunately, we don’t have family nearby and don’t have a “village” to retly on.
I love my kids, just took my toddler out on a date yesterday.
We live in California, and yes it is expensive and beautiful and leaving is not an option for us.
I am an entrepreneur, I’ve been very successful. Built two million dollar businesses.
However, I had to start all over again. We managed to keep our house, our car and maintain our lifestyle after losing it all in 2023.
2023 was rough financially. Made it through with savings I had.
Right now, we’re making money again, and every month slowly but surely gets better. But the business is not 100% solid right now, and the amount t of work required is pretty insane to for me to get it where it needs to be.
My wife likes our lifestyle and I don’t think she understands the pressure of making this work to keep it together and keep the same amount of income coming in every month
Here is my issue…
I don’t like parenting. I hate it. Hearing the kids cry overwhelms me. My wife seems overwhelmed. I’ve hired a housekeeper, a nanny, and my wife wants me a to be a partner.
Okay fair - that’s why we got married, not unreasonable. But I don’t enjoy parenting. I absolutely hate it, and I don’t hide it. We have a toddler who’s a great kid but very high energy and he cries loudly over silly things like the wrong flavor ice cream.
Admitting the fact that I hate parenting made me a better father. Loving your kids and parenting are two different things.
I do feel like a lot of my time is sacrificed and given up to care for my kids. Which it is what it is at this point.
But I cannot hide the fact I hate parenting. It’s not enjoyable for me. I’m not a bad father or husband but my wife gets so upset at the fact I hate parenting
I take my family to restaurants, museums, theme parks all the time - and we couldn’t do any of that 2023. We can now. And do now.
And she loves it. But she told me that’s no parenting. She’s right.
Idk what to do anymore, I do parent, yes I look like I don’t want to be there sometimes, and I don’t but I do it anyway cause that’s being an adult.
I Feel like I’m made out to be a monster by my wife cause I don’t like parenting and she says she doesn’t want to be with someone like that.
Strongly considering separation. I’m honest, fair and real… is there any perspective or advice you give?
Thanks so much

2024.06.02 14:05 birdo7777 Little Einsteins: Innocent Kids’ Show or Post-Apocalyptic Earth?

On the surface, Disney’s Little Einsteins appears to be about teaching kids about classical music and art through easy-to-digest storylines typically found in the saccharine world of children’s television. But is there something more sinister hiding beneath the shiny veneer? Like, a story about a post-apocalyptic future following a robot uprising and the near-annihilation of the human race?
There are no other people in this universe
For starters, there are no other people other than the Little Einsteins in their universe, but there are plenty of robots, non-human animals, and paintings of people. The closest thing they’ve talked to that is another person is either a weirdly-rendered painting of a king. There are also wooden dolls and a queen from a tapestry. In other words, all of the other characters resemble humans but are definitely not, unlike the Little Einsteins themselves. This is despite the fact that the children are definitely in our universe, since they have all of the same musicians and artists that we know today.
four children talking to a weirdly-drawn king on a throne
Rocket: faster-than-light space travel, for kids?
And let’s talk about Rocket itself: this is a spaceship, capable of faster-than-light travel (either that or the episode where they travel to all of the planets in our solar system takes a lot longer than I think), with buttons that are largely ornamental (clearly the ship can be controlled with voice commands but is also intelligent enough to know how to navigate around without the kids telling it what to do). The launch sequence is initiated by the children patting their laps and raising their arms to shout “Blast off!” It’s a ship designed for children, easier to use than an iPad (something which most of today’s toddlers can figure out relatively quickly).
Rocket can go anywhere but its main location is in an underground lair, accessible by a secret doorway in a tree that can only be opened when all four Little Einsteins have put their hands in the right spots. Biometric readings, maybe?
https://preview.redd.it/xfter0h2d54d1.png?width=1392&format=png&auto=webp&s=0bad5908c3728ad6f45113e844907d6d3e48bf0b
Why are the Little Einsteins only interested in the past?
The kids live in a world with artificial intelligence, faster-than-light travel, and they can communicate with all animals. Yet all they talk about are pre-21st century music and art? My best guess is that at some post-21st century time, technology became too advanced, which led to the destruction of the human race. In the dying embers, scientists were able to engineer these four children who have one mission: learn everything about the past. In order to reconstruct it, maybe? And why is the cut-off at the 21st century. We are on the cusp of self-driving cars, what’s next for us as a species?
Why is everything so clean if there aren’t any people to clean it?
The Little Einsteins travel through the world to popular tourist attractions (pretty much any monument you can think of), and yet everything is completely devoid of human life, but also immaculate. Almost as if a silent army of autonomous robots was still going about their daily cleaning schedule?
More evidence in support of a robot army is the scene where the kids visit the Buckingham Palace, and the guard is clearly a wooden doll robot wearing a guard’s uniform. In the scene, the doll is patrolling the grounds, and the kids are trying to sneak by (as much as one can when in a rocket ship), but as long as the doll doesn’t see them move, it won’t know they’re there.
Don’t let the doll see you or the robot army will be alerted!
Artificial Intelligence and the robot uprising
We live in a world with smart phones, smart lights, and smart thermostats. The Little Einsteins live in a world where instruments are floating around and paintings come to life. We have self-driving cars, they have a self-piloted rocket ship. Their technology is basically just an extension of our emerging smart-homes, with added artificial intelligence.
At what point do robots transition from intuitive drones that make our lives easier into bloodthirsty robots who want to use humans as batteries? Is it really impossible to imagine that the robots are going to sick of our shit one day?
https://preview.redd.it/x6k2xuqjd54d1.jpg?width=602&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed732181d841b43300d0f3c59ebe38adf313ba0d
The main nemesis: Big Jet
The kids are constantly being trolled by Big Jet, a Russian MiG that has been modified with artificial intelligence and also arms and legs. Big Jet only exists to mess up the kids’ missions. In one memorable scene, where they all bring something to school for Show and Tell, Big Jet deftly steals all of their favorite items, and later shows up to mock the kids, using its hands to pretend to sing with Annie’s microphone and its feet to dance in June’s ballet slippers.
a large jet wearing ballet slippers and singing on a microphone
On a darker level, why exactly is their enemy a Russian MiG? Perhaps there was some sort of robot uprising involved military-grade aircraft? The kids learn to identify when Big Jet is around by hearing the unmistakable sound of a jet revving its engines.
What is with the butterflies?
In one episode, the main theme is the migration of butterflies. The Little Einsteins are helping out another butterfly who lost its invitation to join the annual butterfly party (it’s interesting that we still have a functioning mail service, too). At one point, the kids reach the main butterfly gathering, and it’s in a field. Although the weird thing is that each butterfly has a flag representing a different country, and all the butterflies are arguing (it just sounds like an insect hum but then again I don’t have a universal translator installed in my brain, like these kids clearly do).
Hm, what other place has a large gathering of representatives from many countries, where there are debates and arguments? Is this some kind of butterfly version of the United Nations? My thought is, maybe the butterflies evolved increased intelligence and influenced the robots to rise against the humans, and now they’re trying to rebuild the government.
butterflies in a circle, with different flags
*The cause of all this?*
another theory (this one is mine) is that in episode 6 of the second season you can see a poster with 3 puppets and a princess. Something tells me that those 4 guys are actually the masterminds behind the extinction of humanity. And worst of all, the princess puppet is actually a kind of artificial superintelligence very similar to Cortana from the video game Halo.
coincidence? I don't think so
Are they to blame for the great extinction? Or was it the princess who decided to modify Big Jet to continue with her extinction plan?
Conclusion: we are doomed
Clearly, Little Einsteins is a portrayal of a post-apocalyptic world, where previous humans have created artificial intelligence for everything (instruments, artwork, rocket ships), which is just the logical extension of the recent trend of “smart home” devices. The fact that the main enemy is Big Jet could mean that the population was destroyed by war. Also, the fact that there are *no other people* and these kids call themselves the Little Einsteins could indicate that they are in fact the last hope for humanity, which is why they spend all their time studying the past.

Pride Month Reads 🌈
In no particular order, here are some of my favorite Pride month reads that feature LGBTQ+ relationships. First two photos are Adult / New Adult / (maybe some YA) reads. Third photo is my June shelf for my toddlers! I change the picture books on that display shelf every month. This month is Pride themed. 💖😊

So my SIL is a teacher and she is a very very engaged parent. She knows a song for what feels like every part of life (brushing teeth, putting on socks, any type of weather, feeling sad, animals...you get the picture). She also puts together weekly units for her kids where she rotates out toys and curates the toy selection based on a learning objective/theme. So for instance, the theme could be astronomy and she will put out books, crafts, sensory bin, and actual toys aligned with the theme. She then plans outings that week that align with the theme. Oh and oodles of activities/projects.
So, I parent differently. My kid very much engages with whatever I am doing. He helps clean up, hangs with me when I'm doing chores or does some independent play. He has toys that I rotate out every few weeks but honestly, he doesn't play with them a ton. We're more likely to be doing something together or to be out in the yard or on a walk. We do plenty of park time and storytime/playdates. We also go to music class and we have nightly family time where we make a fire outside or go in our hotub with him. We love hiking together. We play a ton of basketball (his favorite). So we do plenty of activities for him, it's just not as carefully curated and we do value integrating him into our lives. I do occasionally plan an activity at home myself but not super frequently.
All of this to say that even though I know I do a lot with/for my child, every time I spend time with my SIL, I'm worried it's not enough or that I'm not teaching him enough or engaging him enough. Like yesterday, our kids were playing together in our yard, using chalk, digging dirt, sprinkler, etc and she decide to make a sort of elaborate obstacle course using toys. It was cool and the kids enjoyed it for a bit. I'm glad she made it but self conscious that I didn't think to do that and worried I don't do enough for my kiddo.
And I know it sounds crazy but I worry that I don't sing as many songs as she does! I do sing songs, don't get me wrong. But I don't have a song for everything!

2024.06.01 19:14 Bobblee20 Series 14 Has Centre Around Children and Daughters Specifically

Major Spoilers for Dot and Bubble
I was having a discussion with my partner after watching through the recent Dot and Bubble episode and they mentioned something I can't seem to shake off.
Every episode has related to children and daughters specifically.
Space Babies features a group of abandoned toddlers working together to control a space station.
The Devil's Chord centres around the Toymakers rebellious daughter.
Boom revolves around a father & daughter with a strong and loving relationship.
73 Yards follows Ruby becoming strong and independent after everyone (including her own mum) walks out of her life.
Dot and Bubble focus' around a bunch of arrogant and ungrateful rich kids who only cared about themselves and their own survival.
Even next weeks episode looks like it's gonna revolve around someone's daughter and those animal/human hybrids.
I find it intriguing that this theme is gonna run for the rest of the series and cumulate in the finale when we finally learn the truth around the mystery of Ruby Sunday.
