2024.05.14 04:32 banano28_oficial Hello all, I'm a Fold4 user and I'm curious about upgrading to S24 U
Let me tell you my history, I manage to get the Z Fold 4, after that I gifted a Z flip 4 to my wife, later we used the samsung warranty to change the internal film of the flip4 in our local ISP (altice dominicana), a numerous months later and after the expiration of the warranty the flex started to decay and frequently showed a black ⚫️ screen. After that bad experience she moved to iPhone and guess what, I started to feel attracted to iPhone too.
The thing is that after reviewing the benefits and so on, iPhone does not suit me, I use a lot the Samsung dex and the automated routines too.
So, my question and reason of this post, Fold4 users, how much time do you think our Fold 4 will last until reach the same destiny as the flip4? To start showing a black screen and fall apart?
Btw I treat my phone like a baby in terms, no dust, no dirty, always with its cover, cleanup both screen with microfiber towels, etc.
Btw in my country (Dominican Republic) the trade in sucks a lot, I checked the trade in and in DOP the amount of the fold4 is DOP$26,000.00, when I received the fold4 its price was DOP$104,000.00
Your advices please

2024.05.14 04:30 LordKrakken Hello everyone! Does it make you feel angry when you see white or black 'passport bros' going to Dominican Republic, or Colombia, or Brazil, or elsewhere just to date mulatta girls? It annoys me to see mulattas being pursued only out of fetish. It feels like an attempted ethnic cleansing.

2024.05.14 04:05 AdTechnical3655 ChildHood Neglect from a Christian mother.
Normally, Reddit is not the first place that I would go looking for answers. But I feel like getting different view points would help me to progress the can of worms I opened.
When I was a boy my mother was a “Hardcore Catholic” woman. She would go to mass every day, rosary every day, 3 day retreats very frequently. The typical Catholic experience if you will.
She was a “good mom”. She made sure that I had what I needed, always fed, and never complained whenever I would do something bad in school. Of course I would get the talking to when I got home, but my mom always held out faith that I would break these bad habits. Which I did.
Just some quick context into my moms story, my mom practically raised 3 boys by herself while being a single mom. Only kicker is that im an only child. The other 2 were my aunts sons. Who she left to my moms care here in the states while she was living in Dominican Republic. Just like me they were trouble makers, more so than me, because they would always get suspended from school and were in and out of the hospital due to gang violence. Needless to say, my mom has also had it rough.
Now, on paper as I was saying before. She was a good mom. But recently I’ve been reflecting a lot on my past and how far I’ve come, but something strange happened. Memories started to flood my brain of all the times that my mom wasn’t there for me at home. Back then I didn’t realize it but all these years later these memories have surfaced. Yes she would make an effort, but it was never enough for a growing boy who only had one parent in his life. She cared so much more about church that at times she neglected my emotional needs, she never taught me how to control my emotions, she encouraged my laziness. She would give me my Xbox remote while she would work on her next teachings for her retreats. But wouldn’t sit with me and ask me how I’m doing. And I always had so much to say.
I was never heard, I was never sat with, and I was always alone. Watching my mom raise kids not of her own.
Now I know why you’re thinking. She sounds like a superwoman taking on so many responsibilities at once. But it hurt growing up never really having a parent to talk to and hear my problems.
I lack communication skills, I don’t know how to talk about my feelings, and the only way I can ever truly be myself is when I’m playing my Xbox. That feels like my safe space, it feels like it’s always been there for me whenever she wasn’t.
With all that being said, am I wrong for holding some kind of resentment towards my mom? My mom is great, and honestly did a better job than most moms. So for that I’m greatful, but I don’t believe every relationship is perfect.
Am I a jerk for having these thoughts? Or are my feelings valid? Idc tell me if I sound selfish.

2024.05.14 01:11 Red1202 What's step 0 for becoming a rally driver? (Be real with me.)
Hi, I'm a 23 y/o Dominican biomedical engineering student halfway through my 3rd year of university (in the DR btw). I want to be a rally driver. Here is where am at for the moment:
- No money (won't leach anymore from my parents after finishing my studies)
- Still studying (I do plan on finishing my degree and if necessary a masters)
- Currently living in the Dominican Republic, where there is absolutely 0 to non-existing WRC rallying scene.
So, the question is what would be my roadmap? How do I learn, compete and maybe make enough to live. My current naive plan is to finish studying while hustling any money I can along the way. Then using my bachelor's and most likely a masters to earn the money necessary to start my rallying journey somewhere in the world.
I know, believe it or not, it's a bare bones idealistic plan. That's why I need help with what would be my goals to work for. Tips, ideas or things I can do right that would get me closer to being a WRC rally racer. Even if you think I'm delusional, then go ahead and pull me off my cloud and down to earth.
Everyone's opinion is appreciated. Thank you.

2024.05.13 21:54 SirLadthe1st Volleyball Nations League 2024 - Women's Week 1: Antalya TUR & Rio De Janeiro BRA - 14 to 19 may 2024 - r/volleyball discussion thread
Since the new season of VNL is literally just around the corner (less than 24 hours till the start of the first game!) I thought it will be nice to have weekly discussion threads, like past few couple of years.
This year the competition will be much more important than ever before, as each match counts towards the world ranking - and at the end of the competition top 5 highest ranked, not yet qualified teams will qualify to the Olympic Games!
Also, a slight change to the format of the competition is coming: no team will be relegated this season as, starting next year, 18 teams per gender wlll participate in the VNL (as opposed to just 16 now).
COMPETITION FORMAT + WHO IS PLAYING? Each week, the 16 teams participating in the competition get split into two pools of eight teams - and both pools are hosted by different countries. Each team has four matches to play per week,. Despite the tournament being held in two locations at the same time, all the points the team get and all the sets they win will be counted towards a joint league table for all 16 teams.
Top 8 teams after 12 matches will qualify to the final play off round to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. There is and exception to this rule: Thailand, as hosts, are already pre-qualified to the play offs. That means that if they finish the regular round placed 9th on below, only top 7 teams will qualify and the 8th spot will be assigned to Thailand.
The Pools this week are:
Pool I (Antalya, Turkey): TURKEY, ITALY, POLAND, JAPAN, GERMANY, NETHERLANDS, BULGARIA, FRANCE Pool II (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil): BRAZIL, U.S.A, SERBIA, CHINA, CANADA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, THAILAND, FRANCE WHERE TO WATCH A variety of national broadcasters will show certain games of the VNL either on TV or through online streaming. These include (among others) Polsat Sport for Poland, RAI Sport for Italy, L'Equipe for France and CBC Sports for Canada.
If you have no access to any of the channels broadcasting the VNL, you could subscribe to Volleyball World TV - its a
paid subscrpition service launched by the FIVB and Volleyball World, which will broadcast all games of the competition. There is a 7-day free trial available, and prices start at 1.65eur (ca 2$/ month) if you purchase the yearly plan (19.99 EU12 months)
In the previous years, select VNL games were also broadcasted for free on FIVB's Youtube channel. I am not sure if this will be the case this year, but I will update the post with links to the free matches if there are any planned for this year.

2024.05.13 21:29 tit-for-tat Recommendations for 2011 Hyundai Tucson
- What are your goals for your car audio system - as loud as possible (SPL)? Sound quality (SQ)? Some combination of both? Describe to us how you want your system to sound.
I’m mainly looking for a head unit to replace the stock radio. I’d like it to be Apple CarPlay compatible, to have an external mic, gps antenna, and front and rear cameras.
For the sound, I’d like to emphasize quality (SQ). Loudness is not a priority.
- What vehicle? - year, make, model, type (coupe, sedan, SUV, truck, etc.)
2011 Hyundai Tucson
- What is your maximum budget?
Open, but would like to keep it under 500 USD
- Will you be installing the gear or are you going to a shop? If a shop is doing the work, does your budget include the cost of labor?
Will be taking it to a shop and covering labor extra.
- What gear is in your existing system? (Is it stock? List any aftermarket gear.)
Car is stock
- What is your country of purchase? Leave any finishing thoughts here.

2024.05.13 18:16 WJMorris3 A Look at Qualification for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup - as of May 13, 2024
It's mid-May, and I know that we've still got the final of the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup upcoming, but let's take another (way too early) look at the qualification for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.
Some notes on conventions:
- I use trigrams for clubs on first reference, even when we all know who we're talking about.
- I'm assuming the rules for qualification in 2025 will be the same as in 2024.
- If you see the term "named berth", this means any berth that is not simply given to the next best club in the standings that isn't already qualified.
- Bold indicates a club qualified for Champions Cup; italics indicates a club qualified for one of the regional competitions (Central America Cup, Caribbean Cup.)
COMPETITIONS THAT HAVE STARTED
LigaMX
Qualification Rules
- Six clubs qualify for Champions Cup through LigaMX.
- Both the 2023 Apertura and 2024 Clausura champions qualify; of these two clubs, the one with the most points between the two tournaments qualifies directly to the Round of 16. The other qualifies for the First Round.
- Note that if either champion wins Leagues Cup, then both champions qualify for the Round of 16.
- Both the 2023 Apertura and 2024 Clausura runners-up qualify for the First Round.
- In addition, the two clubs with the most points between the two tournaments, not already qualified, will qualify for the First Round.
- If any club qualifies through two or more named berths, then an additional club will qualify through points for each excess named berth so held.
Results
- América [MEX] won the 2023 Apertura tournament, defeating Tigres [MEX] in the final, 4-1 on aggregate. Both clubs are qualified.
- Note that after the conclusion of the 2024 Clausura regular season, América is on top of the aggregate table. Since they must end up the champion with the best record, they'll be receiving the bye into the Round of 16.
- Monterrey [MEX] and Chivas [MEX] were the next two best clubs in the aggregate table, so they're guaranteed a berth in the First Round.
- The semifinals of the Liguilla are set, with both finalists earning a berth.
- América plays Chivas in one semifinal; as they've both earned a berth already, this assures Pumas [MEX] will be in the 2025 Champions Cup.
- The other semifinal sees Monterrey play Cruz Azul [MEX]; should Monterrey advance, this would qualify Toluca [MEX].
Major League Soccer
Qualification Rules
- Five clubs qualify for Champions Cup through MLS.
- The 2024 MLS Cup champion qualifies directly to the Round of 16.
- Note that if the MLS Cup champion also wins Leagues Cup, the MLS Cup runner-up qualifies directly to the Round of 16.
- Both regular season conference champions qualify for the First Round.
- In addition, the two clubs with the most points in the regular season, not already qualified, shall qualify for the First Round.
- If a club qualifies for Champions Cup through two or more named berths (other than Open Cup champion or Canadian Championship winner), then an additional club with the most points in the regular season, not already qualified, shall qualify for the First Round.
- Note that ties for points are broken by goal difference and then goals scored for the purposes of Champions Cup. Wins, which is the tiebreaker for the MLS Cup playoffs, is not used by Concacaf.
- Note that these berths are not country-locked; this is a relatively new policy starting with qualification for the 2024 tournament.
Canadian Premier League
Qualification Rules
- Two clubs qualify for Champions Cup through the CPL.
- The 2024 CPL champion qualifies for the First Round.
- The 2024 CPL shield winner qualifies for the First Round.
- Should a club win both named berths, the second-place club in the table will take a berth instead.
Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
Qualification Rules
- One club qualifies for Champions Cup through the Open Cup.
- This berth goes to the club that wins the Open Cup.
- Should the Open Cup champion already qualify for Champions Cup by other means, the Open Cup runner-up qualifies for Champions Cup.
- If both the Open Cup champion and runner-up qualify for Champions Cup by other means, then this berth reverts to the club with the most points in the 2024 MLS season, not already qualified.
- Concacaf reserves the right to accept or reject this berth; I suspect that if one of the remaining MLS reserve clubs wins MLS Cup, their senior club will advance to Champions Cup in their stead.
Canadian Championship
Qualification Rules
- One club qualifies for Champions Cup through the Canadian Championship.
- This berth goes to the club that wins the Canadian Championship.
- Should the Canadian Championship winner already qualify for Champions Cup by other means, the Canadian Championship runner-up qualifies for Champions Cup.
- If both the Canadian Championship winner and runner-up qualify for Champions Cup by other means, then this berth goes to the Canadian Championship semifinalist with the most points in their respective league, not already qualified.
COMPETITIONS YET TO START
Caribbean Cup
Qualification Rules
- Three clubs qualify for Champions Cup through the Caribbean Cup.
- The champion of Caribbean Cup qualifies directly to the Round of 16.
- The runner-up and third place club qualify for the First Round.
Seeding
- Eight berths are reserved for clubs from Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago (two clubs each.)
- Two berths are awarded to the winner and runner-up of the Caribbean Shield, which contains the champions of all other nations in the Caribbean, as well as the next best clubs in the fully-professional countries.
Dominican Republic
- The 2023 champions, Cibao FC [DOM], and 2023 runner-up, Moca FC [DOM], qualify.
Haiti
- The two championship group winners will qualify.
- The groups are as follows:
- Group A: Cavaly [HAI], Real Hope [HAI], Tempete [HAI]
- Group B: América des Cayes [HAI], Baltimore [HAI], Ouanaminthe [HAI]
Jamaica
- The two finalists, Cavalier [JAM] and Mount Pleasant [JAM], qualify.
Trinidad and Tobago
- The top two finishers will qualify.
- Note that Port of Spain [TRI] will be one of the two; the other will be either Police [TRI] or Defence Force [TRI].
Central American Cup
Qualification Rules
- Six clubs qualify for Champions Cup through the Central American Cup.
- The champion of Central American Cup qualifies directly to the Round of 16.
- The three remaining semifinalists all qualify for the First Round.
- In addition, two play-in winners (amongst losing quarterfinalists) qualify for the First Round.
Seeding
- Each of the seven Central American nations are awarded berths in the Central American Cup as follows:
- Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama - 3 berths each
- Nicaragua - 2 berths
- Belize - 1 berth
- In addition, two berths are to be awarded based on sporting merit from last year's competition. Precedent dictates that they go to the countries of the two finalists in last year's Central American Cup (which is what they did for last year's tournament - using the 2022 Concacaf League as the basis). This would mean Costa Rica would get a fourth berth and Nicaragua would get a third berth.
- All countries with multiple berths issue their first two berths to the clubs that win each of their biennial tournaments; any additional berths go to the combined table.
- Usually this is Apertura and Clausura, in that order; Panama does a calendar year schedule, so they run Clausura and then the following Apertura.
Costa Rica
- Costa Rica receives four berths.
- Saprissa [CRC] won the 2023 Apertura tournament, so they're guaranteed a berth.
- Herediano [CRC] and Alajuelense [CRC] are guaranteed to be, at worst, the two best clubs that are not champions.
- The 2024 Clausura semifinals are set and all three of the above clubs are qualified. The fourth berth will either go to San Carlos [CRC] if they win the league, or Guanacasteca [CRC] if they don't.
El Salvador
- El Salvador receives three berths.
- Águila [SLV] won the 2023 Apertura tournament, so they're guaranteed a berth.
- Luis Ángel Firpo [SLV] was the best club that isn't a champion, so they're in too.
- The 2024 Clausura semifinals are set; none of the above clubs are involved, so the last berth goes to the winner.
- The matchups are:
- Alianza [SLV] v FAS [SLV]
- Municipal Limeño [SLV] v Isidro Metapán [SLV]
Guatemala
- Guatemala receives three berths.
- Comunicaciones [GUA] won the 2023 Apertura tournament, so they're guaranteed a berth.
- Municipal [GUA] was the best club in the combined table - by goal difference - so they will advance.
- The 2024 Clausura final is set; the last berth will go to either Mixco [GUA] if they win, or to Antigua GFC [GUA] if Municipal wins.
Honduras
- Honduras receives three berths.
- Olimpia [HON] won the 2023 Apertura tournament, so they're guaranteed a berth.
- Marathón [HON] was the next best club in the combined table, so they're safely in.
- Olimpia and Marathón will face each other in the 2024 Clausura final; this ensures that Motagua [HON] will qualify.
Nicaragua
- Nicaragua receives three berths.
- Diriangén [NCA] won the 2023 Apertura tournament, so they're guaranteed a berth.
- Real Estelí [NCA] was the next best club in the combined table, so they're safely in.
- Diriangén and Real Estelí will face each other in the 2024 Clausura final; this ensures that Managua [NCA] will qualify.
Panama
- Panama receives three berths.
- Independiente [PAN] won the 2023 Clausura tournament, so they're guaranteed a berth.
- Tauro [PAN] was the next best club in the combined table, so they're safely in.
- The 2024 Apertura semifinals are set, with the matchups being:
- San Francisco [PAN] v Tauro [PAN]
- Costa del Este [PAN] v Plaza Amador [PAN]
- If Tauro wins Apertura, San Francisco gets the last berth; otherwise it's whoever wins the tournament. (Yes, San Francisco has a double chance here, so to speak.)
Belize
- Belize receives one berth.
- Since there's only one berth to be given out, it goes to the tournament champion that finished higher in the combined table.
- Altitude [BLZ] won the Opening tournament, but unfortunately for them, finished lower in the combined table than either of the Closing tournament finalists.
- Therefore, the winner of the Closing final between Verdes [BLZ] and Port Layola [BLZ] qualifies for the Central American Cup.
Leagues Cup
Qualification Rules
- Three clubs qualify for Champions Cup through the Leagues Cup.
- The 2024 Leagues Cup champion qualifies directly to the Round of 16.
- The runner-up and third place club qualifies for the First Round.
Seeding
- América [MEX] and Columbus [USA] have been given byes to the knockout stage.
- The rest of the clubs in both LigaMX and MLS are placed in groups of three, and those groups are:
- Monterrey [MEX], Pumas [MEX], and Austin FC [USA]
- Cincinnati [USA], NYCFC [USA], and Querétaro [MEX]
- Orlando [USA], Atlético San Luis [MEX], and CF Montréal [CAN]
- Chivas [MEX], San Jose [USA], and LA Galaxy [USA]
- St. Louis [USA], Dallas [USA], and Juárez [MEX]
- Tigres [MEX], Puebla [MEX], and Inter Miami [USA]
- Philadelphia [USA], Charlotte [USA], and Cruz Azul [MEX]
- New England [USA], Nashville [USA], and Mazatlán [MEX]
- Toluca [MEX], Sporting KC [USA], and Chicago [USA]
- León [MEX], Portland [USA], and Colorado [USA]
- Seattle [USA], Minnesota [USA], and Necaxa [MEX]
- Pachuca [MEX], NY Red Bulls [USA], and Toronto [CAN]
- Los Angeles FC [USA], Vancouver [CAN], and Tijuana [MEX]
- Houston [USA], Real Salt Lake [USA], and Atlas [MEX]
- Atlanta [USA], Santos Laguna [MEX], and DC United [USA]
The probable next update will be after June 6, when the Central American Cup and Caribbean Cup draw will be held. By that point, LigaMX will also be finished; we'll have the quarterfinals of the Canadian Championship and the Round of 16 of the US Open Cup in the books.

| As the USA, you usually get off to a slow start due to the huge distances involved in invading either canada or mexico (or both, if you can manage that). After that, unless you want to try crossing the atlantic, your main option for expansion is South America.
