2024.05.29 05:52 Golden_fsh Squall is more interesting in Kingdom Hearts than he is in his own game

I've thought this for a long while (more like 20 years, lol), but as the title says, I found Squall from FF8 to be way more interesting in the Kingdom Hearts series than he is in his own game.
I preface this with saying that my first introduction to Squall was as "Leon" in Kingdom Hearts. I liked how he initially helps Sora on his journey and serves as a friend/mentor figure of sorts in the games. He seemed strong and cool to me, and his interactions with the other FF characters were great! Can never forget Leon and Cloud fighting back to back against the heartless!
After beating KH1, I looked forward to learning more about Leon in FFVIII. Imagine my disappointment when finding out that he's nothing like how he was in KH. The other FF characters pretty much have the same personality in KH that they do in their own final fantasy game but Leon in FFVIII was boring and uninteresting af, lol. I really tried to find depth with his character through his dialogue with others and his own inner thoughts but sadly, nothing ever came through.
I've seen the discussions on this subreddit about Squall and have made multiple attempts to replay FFVIII to see if I can warm up to him but he still comes off as boring to me. I have nothing against stoic characters when they're well-written but unfortunately that is not Squall.
I'd be curious to know why Nomura and the others changed Squall so much in KH that he comes off as a completely different character. If Leon is supposed to be an older Squall after the events of FF8, then maybe I can see how he could have changed . He also seems to have more relevance in KH than FFVIII? Felt like to me that Squall never had much impact within FF8? Hard to explain it clearly, but it felt like Squall was the type to have things happen to/around him with no reaction rather than be someone who makes events happen or have impact on ongoing events?
The "twist" of FF8 was a lame attempt at character development for Squall, imo. By end game, I think we were supposed to see a more expressive Squall who actually has initiative as part of his overall character development but we barely got to see any of that, imo.
Tl; Dr: Squall is more interesting in KH because he actually has a personality. Some people say the reason why he's a nothing burger in FFVIII is because of trauma but I don't buy it. Nothing in FFVIII's writing indicated to me that he would've been a more interesting character otherwise. I'm also not expecting him to have been some forward, outgoing person but what we did get was disappointing to say the least. IMO, Squall is the most uninteresting protagonist in FF overall šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

2024.05.29 05:51 ElectroMenZ I just beat my first full Kaizo ROM hack (SM74 Ten Years After v3.74) + my review

I just beat my first full Kaizo ROM hack (SM74 Ten Years After v3.74) + my review
Ok, so on May 26th 2024, I got all the stars after 31 hours + 3 more I had on another save file, and let me tell you what, it was quite a rollercoaster of an adventure, so here I'll just review my overall experience of it
C1 Dice Domain: (9/10) It was a nice beginning course that felt welcoming for people who are just getting started on easier Kaizo hacks, like sure, it feels a bit different from the original source material, and that can be great, as it gives a player something kinda new, so overall, it's a solid level without it being intimidating, and it's just a nice little warmup for me, someone who's trying Kaizos for the first time
C2 Concrete Jungle: (8.5/10) This is also a pretty solid course, and although, the red coin star was replaced in this version, it was still a solid experience without them, and the stars still felt like a nice little warmup. Also, there was that one heave-ho trick I had to know about, so yeah, I didn't know at the time, and instead went the long way on top to slide and jumped to the star, which involved me finding a bug where I get soft locked on the slope, but again, still quite a solid level with interesting design choices
C3 Wallowing Wells: (8/10) This is a great mashup of C3 from SM74 and EE, and even though I'm not the biggest fan of water levels, you actually have faster swimming, and it's way better than what I tried in EE, I mean, I had a good time getting the stars and the 100 coins even, then you have the waterless mode star which is a good test of your platforming skills, and even though a fell down a few times, it's actually not near as bad as what you had to do in EE, and it was quite enjoyable, so still a nice mashup that doesn't feel like a difficulty spike out of nowhere, but still slightly trickier than the first two courses
Underground Slide: (7.5/10) Now, here's the first little difficulty spike in the hack, so this one had me dying a bit on the slide's reds, and yeah I died at the end to that stupid pillar. Also, to get that first star in the metal cap switch, I decided to take the long route instead of doing the skip, I dunno why, but anyway, near the end of that section kinda felt like a chokepoint, but I mean, it's not bad, and I liked how they replaced the Mario Party minigame music with the underground theme from Yoshi's Island, which is quite fitting with the redesign, so overall, even if it's a bit of a difficulty spike early in the game, I still did like my experience with it quite a bit, and I like the new aesthetic of it
B1 Bowser's Park Party: (9/10) I actually like what they did with this version, they made it feel a bit different by making it like an island in the sky, and the stars were just pretty fun overall, like the one metal cap star was an interesting because of the way you go inside the building to get it, and the key section felt free because of the metal cap safety net, but there was that one part where you had to do oddly precise lava bounces, I don't know why LinCrash made it that way, but I'm not gonna question it, and it was an enjoyable experience all the way through
C4 Bogey Bayou: (8/10) I thought this course was pretty fun, but there was that one pit with Bubbas with the red coins that were a bit risky to get due to the relentless nature of them, however, the rest of this course had some solid stars in it, like there was one star where you have the entrance to a secret lava section, and due to the Parallel Lakitu cam, you didn't have to do blind guesswork, so that's nice, but yeah, the actual secret entrance star was just free, nothing else to say about that one, but even though the 100 coins took me longer than it should've, I actually had quite a fun time platforming on rooftops over some deadly quicksand sludge
C5 Flamework Factory: (8.5/10) An interesting course with tunnels that leads you to other stars and parts of the level, and honestly, I liked how it felt sort of like nice little puzzle with a couple of stars requiring certain caps to traverse to the other section, and in the current version, the tunnels just warp you to that certain room, I don't really mind the change that much because it doesn't really decrease the difficulty that much, so overall, another solid experience when I knew the places I needed to go for certain stars.
MC Aerial Alpine: (9/10) I love what they did with the metal cap stage from the original EE, they turned it into a snow level, and now it's a lot more enjoyable, and even though this current version replaced the red coin star, it was still a nice chill stage, no pun intended, and the stars felt like nice little warmup sections that I had a pretty good time with, even though they replaced the metal cap section with a shell riding one, so that actually felt a bit more fun to do, since I'm actually good with the shell
VC Dusty Darkness: (6.5/10) Now, this is the first level that started giving me a bit of problems, like there's this one star where I had to jump down to a walljumping section, and I actually had to turn up the brightness on my monitor to see where I was, and even then, I kept on getting caught on the one wall because the collision is weird, and I missed my jump quite a bit because of it, but once I learned to stop touching the wall, it wasn't as bad, and there was one more star that gave me slight problems, but that one at least didn't have bad collision, and the other stars were actually quite decent, so yeah, definitely not a great level at all, but not that bad
WC Lava Pit of Inversion: (7.5/10) Yeah, it's just a chill wing cap course that doesn't feel special at all, it was just like the original, except flipped upside down, I mean, the stars were satisfying to get, however, could've done something more creative with it, but I mean, it still is quite a decent experience
C6 Stalactite Cave: (8/10) This is yet another water stage, and again, I'm not the biggest fan of them, but this one actually was kinda interesting, even though this course got the Drowned Factory treatment. This course seemed quite solid with this one platforming section above water that is slightly tricky, but quite fun to do, and I liked that one part where you had to get a Chuckya from the cage below and clip behind a wall to get that one star, so yeah, nice rendition of course 6 that had completely different stars, and it was not bad to navigate at all
C7 Crumble Rumble Tower: (8/10) I really do like the aesthetic of this course, and I enjoyed the climb to the top with the 5 secrets, it's actually kinda fun doing those ledgegrabs near the top, even when there were those clouds that blew you off the course, and the 100 coins were fun to get, except there was that one sketchy red coin you had to get a walljump off of, but it was still a bit of fun nonetheless, and the King Whomp bossfight is actually not bad, even though it was sand, but you actually had more of a platform to work with, so yeah, overall, solid course with only a couple parts that made me go "meh"
C8 Absolute Zeroasis: (6.5/10) Yeah, this is a course I didn't enjoy as much due to that red coins maze with freezing water, and the camera not being the greatest, along with that one spiral pyramid star that was quite a bit annoying to get, but if you set aside that, the 100 coins and other stars are actually decent, so overall, it's not that bad, but yeah, wasn't really a fan of a couple stars
C9 Nature Nocturne: (8/10) This is actually a solid rendition of Course 9, I liked the music in it, it was a nice vibe from Yoshi's Story, and I liked the red coins in it, there was some enjoyable platforming on top of wood planks, and it's interesting going under the flower field to get this one secret, even though you had to go back to get the star, but I really like the idea of it, and yeah, the star under the bridge I could've gotten by using the switch, but I did it the hard way, which took me dozens of tries, but overall, what a solid remake
B2 Bowser's Tidal Tropics: (6.5/10) So yeah, this is the first level that actually made me rage a bit, but before I get into that, I will say that I love the Koopa Troopa Beach music in this course, it really compliments the theme of it, and 4 of the stars in there were just kind of a nice experience, but that one star where you had to do the firsties at the right angle, even though, thankfully it's not quicksand this time, it's water, it still proved to be quite a bit annoying, but it was satisfying once I pulled it off, and now, the key part was what really started getting to me because at the beginning, I felt like I had to do the one firstie so that I can have just the right height land on the platform without getting grabbed by the Chuckya, and that gets annoying because every time a failed on those angled timed boxes, I have to start front the beginning, but I realized, I did that part the hard way, so my experience with this could've went a lot smoother, if it weren't for that, but still, not the greatest experience due to it deriving from the EE version of this stage, however, the stars before the key section were overall not bad, and again, that key section made me quite a bit angry, but the rest of it was actually not bad, it was just a matter of getting past those couple things I mentioned earlier
C10 Quicksand Beach: (9/10) After the last stage, this one was actually quite chill, the stars were actually quite enjoyable to get, like the red coins were fun to shell jump up to get in the middle of the quicksand, and thank God LinCrash decided to have 100 coins nerfed because in the older versions of SM74, you had to get all the blue coins like near frame perfect, and you had to slowly push all the bullies into that one tiny lava pit, but this version, really made it chill, and at first, I thought the stars you had to get by going into the quicksand tunnel we're gonna be a pain, but actually, the Parallel Lakitu cam worked out in my favor, and I actually enjoyed going down there, so this yet is another nice and solid experience
C11 Polluted Pond: (7/10) So, it's the level with one of the stars I dreaded, the star where you have to do walljump crossovers over a platform with quicksand, but I really surprised myself here, as it only took me a few tries, and I actually never died to the quicksand itself, I just failed at the last crossover a few times, so this might've been just a fluke, but yeah, while the rest of the level wasn't the greatest due to having to climb back up out of the toxic sand below, and it took me so long to find the last red coin for some reason, although, it still has quite a bit of fun platforming here and there, but on that one hideout star where you kinda have tight window for those timed boxes, it was mildly annoying when I hit that arrow leading me to it, however, after that is not that bad, just one sketchy jump, so overall, not really a great course, but the platforming was a bit of fun to do
C12 Cliff of Time: (8/10) Now this is an interesting one because this is like the first time that we see two versions of a course that you get to switch between depending on the star, and I mean, I enjoyed getting these stars, they were quite a bit unique from each other, and yeah, the red coins weren't really as bad as I thought, it was just that one sketchy walljump ledgegrab I had to do to get to the rest of the course, and every time you started the harder version of this course, you had to do a firstie to even start it, which is not that annoying at all, and just meh, but the same went for some of the red coins, however, you did have quite a bit of room for error before the timer ran out, so this course overall has cool concepts, and it felt quite fair
C13 Sea Salt Peaks: (5/10) Now, most of this course felt a bit free, and Koopa the Quick is still slow, this was just a fine level, but oh my God, the Hot Arch Crossing star really brings down the experience because it was so annoying with those firespitters while having to do more precise walljump crossovers three times in a row, and one where you have to do kind of a precise triple jump to get to the last crossover, like that star genuinely made me just rage, and I never wanna touch it again, although the 100 coins were quite a bit scarce
C14 Veninium Sphere: (8.5/10) Now this course was quite fun, and I actually like how LinCrash designed the course to have more gaps in it to make up for the nerfs he did, so it still didn't feel too easy for what it was, and the climb was quite satisfying, but the one small flaw I had was with the first star Tower of the South, and that is when I just got through the hall of angled walljumps, I would sometimes miss the star because I couldn't exactly tell where it is in that hole in the ceiling, but I mean, I feel like that one was just on me, although, the rest of the level was very good, and the red coins didn't feel daunting at all to get, so overall, it was quite an enjoyable experience
C15 Delombru Sphere: (8.5/10) Same as the last course, the climb was quite satisfying to do, but this course felt a bit more convoluted to me because there was that one sideways tower that I didn't know I could reach with a triple jump until I tried it, and there was that one Dungeon Dominance star where I didn't think that precise walljump ledgegrab was intended, yet it was, but it wasn't actually that bad, and thank God that one crazy Tower of the North star was changed into an amp obstacle course because in the old versions, you had to do really precise walljumps consistently without ledgegrabbing, and the 100 coins and 8 reds were actually pretty satisfying to get on only like what, my 4th attempt? I mean, you got those two sketchy red coins at the beginning, but after that, it was nice and smooth sailing because I just crushed it, I genuinely thought I was gonna fumble more on that, but glad I didn't, however, the Morbid Deadly Puzzle star was still pretty tough because it's like closer to EE difficulty than any other star here, and I will not forgive that one Snifit that killed me one time when I was getting far into that star, but it was quite satisfying once I finally got the star at the end, so overall, a well designed course with a challenge that will prove to be pretty difficult, but comes with a satisfying reward at the end
Void of the East: (8/10) Now this was quite a tough and challenging star, and that one angled walljump off the pillar and tower right next to it is kinda what made the challenge even moreso, but good thing you can come up with a good routing method for this star to not feel like as much of a drag, so for me, the metal cap lava bounce secret was the easiest, so I did that last, and yeah, to get off that one rooftop, it sucked when I just couldn't make the jump with the wrong angle, but as I did the right angle, it wasn't as bad, and the rest of the course is actually fun, so once it got consistent, it was quite enjoyable, and I was thoroughly satisfied after getting that star
B3 Bowser's Rainbow Realm: (6/10) Yeah, I didn't enjoy opening the cannon in this stage that much at all, I just hated having to do those angled wall kicks over the first lava section at every attempt I had at opening the cannon, but good thing that you didn't have to do three of those in a row, just one of them, and the amp section was just a bit annoying because I had to be careful with my jumps, while having to deal with the possibility of the firespitter getting me, as for the second lava section that first jump was quite sketchy to make, but right after that, the section was definitely better than the first one. There was also that Heave-ho on the third section that killed me at least a couple times, and it felt like a slap to the face when that happened to me, but when I opened the cannon, I felt quite a bit relieved, and the other stars were actually a bit enjoyable, despite me wanting to get to Grandmaster's Goal that final day, like the secrets had some decent platforming, but it was just a slight flaw that I couldn't properly see that one opening to getting that 5 secrets star, however, I got the right angle at some point, and now the 8 red coins were actually quite decent, it felt like a good break, but there were a couple red coins that seemed slightly sketchy, but we're not bad at all, however, I will say, wasn't really the biggest fan of getting on those steep slopes, as they felt fast, and I had to make sure my angle to get on them was good or else I'd fall down due to no ledgegrabs, but it was alright, and yeah, I accidentally got that one caged Banjo Tooie cartridge star while getting the red coins, but after that, there was one more kind of annoying star I had to get with that risky platforming on the walls of the amp section, and the final fight was just Bowser, but the bombs were oddly closer than the original, don't know why LinCrash made them like that, but whatever, it's fine, so overall, yeah, this stage can get quite frustrating when you are trying to open the cannon, but after that, it's not bad at all, it actually got quite a bit fun, although, the music felt a bit repetitive NGL
Grandmaster's Goal: (8/10) This was a pretty good gauntlet at the end, but oh my God it's quite nerve-wracking I got closer to the end, and when I died a couple times at those cones in the Cliff of Wrath part, it was a bit disappointing, but as I noticed that I was getting more consistent with the other parts, the confidence built within me, and in this current version, they added a heart at the walljump crossover section, and oh man, I really needed it, even though it nerfs the endurance test a bit, I still appreciated it, and yeah, the metal cap section was still a chokepoint because of that one walljump ledgegrab, and at the beginning of me doing this gauntlet, I kept dying at the Stalagmite Cave slide part, even though I shouldn't have because it's easy when I got the angle right, but yeah, overall, this gauntlet was pretty well put together, but yeah, there are a couple parts that are easily chokeable and can be roadblocks to your success. Oh and one thing I forgot, the other two Grandmaster's Goal stars, they were a bit easy to get, like you could just do a skip to save time for the "speedrun" star, and there was that one hidden star that was fairly easy to find, so those two stars were essentially before the real deal, and they were kinda cool to get
In conclusion, my first Kaizo experience definitely had times where I got quite a bit frustrated, but in the end, I'm glad I beat this as my hardest ROM hack, and the experience was definitely worthwhile, so I decided to post this review here to share my experience

2024.05.29 05:47 Curious_Media9745 Yā€™all think Adam will ever try and dip into the mob genre and interview some mob guys? I seen Joey Merlino did a Vlad interview. Merlino and adam would be such an interesting interview my opinion.

If adam sees this that would be cool. But anybody else interested in any mob interviews?
Adams talk with gang bangers about alleged bodies already. Seeing adam how he conducts the interview and how serious he will take it and how far he would press the questions to mob guys who have admitted to a bunch of bodies, makes for a good podcast I think.
And the mob guys are usually charismatic and love to talk about the life and some will even go into detail about the murders.
Dom cicale has done 2 murders in depth and has a bunch more stories heā€™s saving to tell on bigger platforms is what he says. I hope adam reaches out to him. He also says he wants bigger platforms to do interviews on because in (he just did an interview on a smaller platform than NJ and in exchange instead of money for the interview he did it for time to promote his businesses) and he told the guy if he knew anybody with bigger platforms heā€™d be happy to do an interview and tell more untold stories for the promotional time slot.
dom cicale who admitted to 4 or 5. John alite confessed to 7. Gene Borello is a fucking character and that would be a great interview if Adam has proper background info. Merlino is the alleged Boss of Philly according to the feds and allegadly has 11 bodies is what the feds say and heā€™s beat multiple fed cases along with a few bodies in his Rico. He also allegedly committed the only mob murder caught on tape according to the feds and also shot up Nicky scarfos son in a restaurant with Mac 11 machine gun.
Anybody else interested in these kind of interviews or wrong place for it?

2024.05.29 05:46 Thelittlehamstar (spoilers) I just finished ashlands <3

I want to start by saying that i enjoyed here, i enjoyed all the little things to get here. I've been playing since the boss was yagluth. I have 351 hrs (i know it's not much) but just in case ppl think i speed trough this and then complained ahha.
Now first with the good things:>! I LOVED the entire aesthetic, the music, the new items , the new food and materials that ashland brought, i loved the introduction to ashlands that was literally very fucking scary ,the new customization of weapons with elements, not only for how variated it makes the gameplay but how cool it looks as exhibition pieces. THE NEW MONSTERS WERE AMAZINGLY COOL, from their mechanics to their designs, they were so scary and unsettling, the story was so chilling and had me hyped to search for the next rune (also pls make this spanw maybe close to strategic points i had to lose myself in a few islands to find them all) . I LOVE how now the differnet stars in monsters look very different than i remember, idk if the colors were brightened or they shine more but i was way easier to identify troublesome mobs this time. Loved the addition of the grapes as a new food source to plant at home, not only because it looked amazing but because it was a cool thing to have a passive farming part of your home.!<
>! Also idk if this was just me being so dumb but i didn't notice on my first or second playtrough that there were things hidden under the thrones or between the walls of some towers, i foudn that SO FUN!i had fun destroying the draugr homes to see what they had to offer, also use it as a settlement was so good too, made us understood a lot on how to make bigger and bigger houses (im not as talented as the people posting marvels in this forum). Also i liked the way that scrap piles were more easily destroyed this time around, it really makes the swamp not as tedious as before.!<
i suppose i must continue with the downsides, though it's not much really i still enjoyed myself through and through. First of all i feel the cultists are still somehow randomly placed there, i wish perhaps the caves gave more or straight up they had the eggs so i had more incentive to go raid them. Some items like the staff of fracturing and the dundr were interesting but not really that useful in the end with a few exceptions ( love exploding morgens) and you could say that yeah that's the point you have to have all the options but it feels a bit disappointing when you start cooking up numbers. I think the Dundr is the weapon i loved the most but i wish i had something extra, perhaps an armor to go with that hexmagic route that allows you to reload faster or reload while running so you can get close, shot and run and then use the staff of protection and so. I would happily give away the usage of all of the other staffs for such a combination and the either regen. In the end my partner who played with a meele warrior did way more than me with magic and that did not feel such a way during mistland and i don't know if it was my fault or what, but it felt more balanced on mistlands than ashland for some reason. The flametal ores... God that was so annoying to farm and then they give you all of it mostly in castles so it feels a bit unnecessary? I would much more prefer to siege the fortress for the material than having to fend off charred assholes throwing rocks at me that make me fall to the lava. Not to mention the spawn of things was a bit insane, sometimes there was no creatures for several minutes then we turned around and bam 3 morgens 2 green dogs (i forgot their names) of 1 star following us and a bunch of marksman coming from the lava. It was overwhelming at times.
Quality of life => please have tabs for the different recipes/types of recipes or at least organize them from newest to oldest because having to search for it one by one it's quite annoying when you are in a hurry to get back to battle. X_X
And this is mostly cosmetic issues but i feel the red robes are way cooler than the blue of ashlands?, but i do love the black void with the red eyes , maybe there should be an item that the clothing seller than give me as a final quest for her chests that gives me the possibility to transmog so i chose what i am wearing ? but keeps my stats??. That green cape was horrendous too i didn't feel powerful at all QWQ. The jutes, please for the love of god let me make red jute things like the blue ones and vice versa and maybe let me die threads to make more and maybe different colors?, banners get a bit repetitive after a while. But this is a nothing burger honestly i just really had SOOO much fun with the ashwood decorations i usually hate decorating and building in games but this time OH GOD i went crazy and i had so much fun <3 . Also many items are not able to be exhibited like the bloodstones, jade and even metals i feel it would be cute if we could do that since i could make a metal ore and refined metal exhibition to decorate the forge. On that same note please make the item stands a bit tintier like the ones that go into the table because some items like the circlet or knives look so weird with the big slav of wood behind. same with some items just lying flat like the seal or the swamp key , maybe give the option for them to stand up?. And as a last request that again is literally non relevant PLEASE GIVE US FLOWERS or decorative plants, hedges and bushes. i would kill to have such a thing in game. PLEASE LET US PLANT BERRY BUSHES AS WELL ! i dont care if they take forever to spawn berries but please it's being so annoying since day 1. Also i loved the pots, can we please find a way to paint them or add flowers to them???
Also one question will you keep teasing us with those underwater stairs in the swamp?...please i want to dive....aaaa
Anyway it was just a random rant a smy first post here. Istill 100% love and recommend the game 10/10 would start again when the next biome comes home. Amazing job as always team i love this game <3
red + black feathers COOL
please i just want to have collectibles...
Pls valehim let me put the spice rack in here i need it for magic/witch reasons
Also please let me sleep in the same bed as my husband, how are we supposed to honor odin if we dont give him a son lmao.
pls let me paint the pots PLEASE
my attempt to put flowers outside lmao
I wish the Jute was red on the top as well QWQ!

2024.05.29 05:42 TakeTwo4343 I wanna die

Thatā€™s really it. Iā€™m not suicidal, but I want to die. If that makes sense. Like, Iā€™m not going to end it myself or anything, and Iā€™m not gonna go looking to put myself in danger, but also, if Iā€™m in immediate mortal danger, I wonā€™t really put much (if any) effort to remove myself from that situation. I just wanna be done man.
Like Iā€™m just so sad and hopeless all the time. It just seems like every time something seems like it might not be so bad, I get reminded that Iā€™m not allowed to be happy. Iā€™m not allowed to have things work out. And idk what I did or what Iā€™m doing wrong. Iā€™d try to fix it if I knew what to fix!!
Literally, every breath I take just hurts, like a huge wave of sadness crashing into me. Every freakin breath man. I donā€™t wanna do this anymore. Itā€™s like, whatever cool thing is planned for me down the road in life, I donā€™t want it. I donā€™t even care, Iā€™m done with it. I just want a way out.
Idk what I expect from making a Reddit post about how much I hate my life, but here I am.
What a pathetic little man I am.

I've been using the Versacarry. 22 Cal. Single Action Revolver Holster for a while now, and I've got to say it's a pretty cool accessory to have. It's made from premium water buffalo leather, which is quite a step up from the average holster material. The sturdy belt loop ensures that your revolver stays securely in place, even when you're on the move.
One downside I noticed is that it only supports single-action. 22 caliber revolvers, so if you're using a different kind, you'll have to look elsewhere. But overall, I'm really happy with this holster. It's well-made, and the quality is top-notch. I've had no issues with it so far, and I'm confident it'll serve me well in the future.

I recently tried out this Versacarry. 22 Cal. Single Action Revolver Holster, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by its sturdy construction and comfortable fit.
Made from premium water buffalo leather, this holster is well-suited for all those. 22 reproduction Colt Single Action Army revolvers and similarly sized wheelguns. What stood out to me the most was the secure belt loop and open bottom design, which provided a snug fit without any unnecessary bulk. Overall, this is a great choice for any cowboy looking to protect and carry their. 22 Cal single action revolver in style.

As a frequent user of this Inside-the-Waistband Handgun Holster, I must say it has its pros and cons. Firstly, the lightweight design featuring a sturdy nylon shell and soft brushed tricot interior is a boon for me. It effectively safeguards my 9mm auto handgun without compromising on comfort.
However, the metal spring clip, though handy, sometimes slips over the top of my pants or belt, which can be a bit inconvenient. Also, the 3.5-inch size works great for my Ruger LCP, but it might be a bit too snug for larger models.
Another feature I appreciate is its versatility as it can be used as a hip holster or inside the pants, allowing for an adjustable and comfortable fit. Despite its excellent qualities, the holster lacks a retention strap, which can be a drawback, especially when you're on the move.

As a fellow gun enthusiast, I recently came across the North American Arms Mini-Rev Pocket Holster 22MAG and decided to give it a try. Having used it for a while now, I must say it has made a notable difference in my shooting experience.
The first thing that stood out to me was the secure grip it provides for my mini revolver. It holds the weapon firmly in place, which ultimately enhances my precision and accuracy during target practice. However, I must admit that the holster's size can be a bit of a drawback at times. It may not be the most suitable option for those who prefer a larger holster for their mini revolver.
Despite its minor flaws, the North American Arms Mini-Rev Pocket Holster 22MAG has proven to be a reliable and comfortable accessory for my mini revolver. If you're looking for a secure and compact solution for your mini revolver, this pocket holster might just be the perfect addition to your arsenal.

The Desantis Wild Hog Holster is a versatile and comfortable option for carrying your Ruger Single Six 5.5" Revolver. Made from top-quality leather, it fits snugly around your waist and can be worn cross draw or with a forward cant. Its belt accommodating design allows you to adjust the tension for a perfect fit, ensuring your gun stays securely in place throughout the day.
While the Wild Hog may be a bit heavier on your pocket, it's a reliable, durable, and stylish choice for any revolver enthusiast. Overall, if you're looking for a holster that provides both style and functionality, this leather holster is worth considering.

šŸ”—Stylish Space Cowboy Holster for H&K 45 Revolver

As a gun enthusiast, I've always been on the lookout for premium quality holsters to keep my scoped revolvers secure. So, when I came across the Triple K Space Cowboy Holster, I knew it was worth a try. The full-grain leather holster is certainly a sight to behold, with its classic design that's both stylish and functional.
What stood out to me was the sturdiness and security the holster offered. It was a perfect fit for my Smith and Wesson 629 Stealth Hunter, with its 7.5" barrel. I appreciated the tie-off leg strap, which added stability and ensured my holster stays in place during all my outdoor adventures.
However, I found the price quite steep for the level of craftsmanship involved. The belt loop's snap mechanism feels a tad flimsy and might not be the best fit for larger and heavier revolvers.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I would still recommend the Triple K Space Cowboy Holster to any gun enthusiast looking for a premium, high-quality holster to keep their prized scoped revolver close at hand.

I recently had the chance to try out this Hilason Western Right Hand Gun Holster Rig, and let me say, it's a pretty impressive piece of equipment. First off, the holster itself is beautifully crafted, with a genuine leather finish that gives it a nice, old-timey cowboy feel. The stitching was tight and precise, and the metal core casing made it unbreakable and non-collapsible.
One thing that stood out to me was the holster's versatility. Not only does it fit most barrel lengths ranging from 4 to 8 inches, but it's also been designed with a leg tie and leg flap behind the holster, enhancing its durability and comfort. This made it perfect for a daily wear gun holster, whether I was walking around town or out on the range.
That being said, there were a couple of things that I wasn't completely thrilled about. For one, the holster does have quite a few holes punched an inch apart, which could make it a bit confusing to figure out the correct size for your specific pants. While the provided measurements worked for me, I can see how this could be an issue for others.
Additionally, while the gun holster fits most barrel lengths, it's made specifically for a right-handed shooter, which could make it a bit limiting for left-handed shooters looking to use this holster.
Overall, though, I've really enjoyed using this Hilason Western Right Hand Gun Holster Rig. The combination of its high-quality craftsmanship and versatile design make it a top choice for any gun enthusiast looking to up their holster game.

šŸ”—Quality Western-style leather holster for 703 Revolver

https://preview.redd.it/1u1qu8f0ea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8cc31a3c84328ee28be4e18682b057260b95170e
The Denix Old West Leather Holster is a must-have accessory for anyone who loves the authentic feel of the Wild West. Not only does it look the part, but it also feels and functions like a genuine holster should. The craftsmanship is evident in the beautifully tooled leather design, which adds a touch of class to your 1873 non-firing replica or Colt Peacemaker pistol.
One of the things I appreciate most about this holster is the ease of use. The right-draw design ensures that your firearm is always easily accessible when you need it, and the adjustable leg-tie makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods. The shell loops on the belt are a nice touch, as they accommodate the replica shells that fit these pistols, adding another level of realism.
As with any product, there are a few minor drawbacks. The holster isn't the most compact option out there, which can make it a bit tricky to carry around if you're planning to go somewhere where you might need to hide your firearm. Additionally, the medium waist size might not be perfect for everyone, so it's something to consider before making a purchase.
Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Denix Old West Leather Holster. It's a top-quality product that adds a touch of authenticity to any enthusiast's collection. If you're looking for a durable, functional, and stylish holster that captures the spirit of the Old West, this is the one to get.

Buyer's Guide

When it comes to selecting the perfect 22 revolver holster, there are several factors to consider. These factors will ultimately determine the overall quality and durability of your holster, and more importantly, its ability to safely carry and protect your revolver.

Adjustable Retention

An adjustable retention system allows you to customize the tightness of your holster to suit your needs. This feature is especially important when it comes to concealed carry, as you want to ensure that your holster can securely retain your 22 revolver without being too tight, making it difficult to draw in case of an emergency.

Material and Build Quality

The material and build quality of your 22 revolver holster play a crucial role in its overall durability and functionality. High-quality materials, such as tough nylon or ballistic nylon, combined with sturdy construction, will ensure that your holster can withstand the rigors of regular use without succumbing to wear and tear.

Comfort and Concealment

Comfort is a major consideration when selecting a 22 revolver holster. Look for a holster that is well-designed and offers adequate support, eliminating the need for any pressure points. Additionally, a holster with a slim profile will make it easier to conceal your revolver, whether you're carrying on your person or in a concealed carry situation.

Gun Shape and Fit

It's vital that your 22 revolver holster is designed to accommodate the specific shape and dimensions of your firearm. A well-fitting holster is essential for proper retention and easy access to your weapon when needed most.

Price and Value

When considering a 22 revolver holster, it's essential to find the right balance between price and value. Look for a holster that offers the right combination of quality, features, and affordability, without sacrificing any of these factors.

2024.05.29 05:39 lilpharma666 DAE remember MCRā€™s website in 2006-2007?

Just thought about how stoked I was about The Black Parade and going to their website with my friend. At the time it was TBP-themed and the about the band section was each band members hands in a fist and whenever you clicked on it, it would raise up and have a little bio about each member. It was such a cool, interactive layout, I wish I could find it somewhere. Anyone remember it or have any ideas where I can find it?

2024.05.29 05:34 Large-Pay5005 Feeling lost and demoralized constantly, scared Iā€™m gonna relapse.

Was homeschooled pretty much all my life, so I never really socialized or had friends growing up, and have had mental health problems for quite a while, depression, anxiety, existentialism and possibly some light schizophrenia. To drown this out Iā€™d just play games and found a group of friends online that Iā€™d play with and talk to. Still have the online friends but these days theyā€™re usually too busy with their own things so I donā€™t speak with them much.
Iā€™m now 20. Last year I started taking adult education classes (for GED or high school equivalency, since I was only ever homeschooled before) and these were going well for me initially. I felt like it was a new beginning for me, I told myself I would socialize and make new friends and connections, I had something to work towards, some kind of direction in life, and I was passing the GED tests with ease. Yet still, I felt demoralized, like nothing mattered, like I had nothing that was worth fighting for. I had made friends and socialized a lot, but everything there fell flat and they all stopped talking to me or caring.
I was pretty much at the end of my rope come November and attempted suicide. I couldnā€™t quite jump but the next two months were probably the darkest period in my life. I essentially needed constant distractions otherwise Iā€™d spiral out of control when left with my own thoughts, wouldnā€™t sleep, wouldnā€™t eat and would uncontrollably sob. Thankfully I had my online friends to support and comfort me during this, except for one friend who was adding fuel to the fire throughout the whole thing but we cut contact with her luckily.
Come January, I was doing much better, started the new semester at school with some really cool people and remained friends with them. Got a chill new job at a grocery store that I enjoyed with really cool coworkers in February, a month later got fired because the boss wasnā€™t satisfied with my performance (people get fired all the time apparently. No one is ever good enough there)
I now have my GED and can take real college courses next semester, but have no fucking clue what major I want to go into, I donā€™t feel satisfied or accomplished at all, not looking forward to the future, just left with a feeling of ā€œcool, but what the fuck is the point? What does any of it matter?ā€. I havenā€™t been able to find a new job, Iā€™ve been getting interviews but constantly rejected.
I currently just rot in bed in my head all the time and Iā€™m terrified of relapsing to that dark place I was in last November. Iā€™m just feeling very hopeless and aimless and demoralized, which is how that dark period started before. I donā€™t know what to do. Sorry to post on here just to complain, I know people have it a lot worse than me and that I should be grateful for what I have, Iā€™m just having a hard time of it all. Thanks for reading all this.

2024.05.29 05:34 noodleboy244 My (18NB) best friend (18F) is getting engaged and I'm just so angry over it. All names are fake obvy

I am friends with a girl called Grace. Grace was in a 3-year long relationship with a guy in middle school which ended up with her getting pregnant at 15 and giving birth to her son Jack (2M) when she was 16. He's great and a bit cheeky. Grace's relationship ended when it turns out her bf was incredibly toxic. There wasn't abuse but it definitely was not okay how they were treated. After that, she said she wasn't looking for anything. I asked her out at one point and she said "you're too good a friend" which I don't get but I took the rejection on the chin and thankfully nothing was awkward between us. I have very bad luck in the romance department, landing either a rejection or an abusive/toxic partner. My sex life is dead as well, always has been. I guess its made me bitter because the moment her new boyfriend, Rupert (20M) came on the scene, I instantly disliked him. We clashed a lot over our overprotectiveness of Grace. We've been through a lot together and I know how badly her last breakup hurt her. Eventually we let bygones be bygones but I still hate him. I asked Grace why she got with him despite not looking for anything, she said the opportunity just fell into her lap. I was angry at this but I hid it because I didn't wanna upset her.
Fast forward a month and I get the news that Rupert proposed to Grace, who said yes immediately. After one month. This both shocked and infuriated me. I know I'm just being bitter but I can't understand how she can have a kid and now a fiancƩ at 18 when I'm stuck with barely any friends, no love or sex life and even my closest friends, including Grace, barely reply to me once a week if I'm lucky. I'm happy for her but her entire reasoning was "when you know, you know" and I am convinced its gonna go horribly. Maybe I'm seeing red flags where there aren't any but something is just off about him and I'm scared of her being hurt again because they rushed into it. Today, Grace mentioned that she got a ring from Rupert (there wasn't one initially which surprised me) and its all bubbled to the surface and I can't sleep because of it, so here I am venting to strangers. I wanna tell her that its way too soon and its just being so lovestruck that she's not given herself enough time to gauge whether it'll work long-term with him.
Jack is also a big reason why I'm concerned. I don't want him losing a father figure so early in his life. He wasn't old enough to remember his bio father but he'll be old enough to remember Rupert potentially and I don't know what damage it'll do. Even if he doesn't remember, I'm nervous on how the negative effects on Grace will affect Jack. I'm not trying to get her to call the engagement off but I feel like I need to get off my chest that I think that getting engaged this soon, even if they're not getting married for years (according to Grace they're waiting), is a dumb idea as well as make sure she's thinking straight about this. WIBTA for telling her?

2024.05.29 05:28 True_Pipe1250 How do you decide what tattoos to get?

I currently have 0 tattoos, but Iā€™ve always wanted some. My problem is I can never decide on what I want. I see some cool stuff on other people and I like it but Iā€™m always thinking how did you come up with that? Im artistic and creative(my subjective opinion lol) but I canā€™t imagine coming up with designs to make a whole arm sleeve. Are tattoos supposed to be meaningful? Do some people just go into a tattoo shop and ask the artist to come up with anything they want? Some tattoos I see are awesome, but then they look so intricate that Iā€™m like no way that girl/guy came up with that on their own. I really wouldnā€™t even care if i got a stupid tattoo and regretted it later but I just have an authors version of writers block when it comes to this and have no idea what to get in the first place!

2024.05.29 05:28 killahyo97 one kissā€¦ canā€™t stop thinking for months SOS lol

Had a date with this girl back in April. Weā€™re both women (26,27). She was absolutely stunning. Upon meeting, she seemed intrigued to know me due to her body language and how much she shared about herself. BUT not once did she ask about me. Actually, she did literally once.. but didnt seem to care for my answer. So i kept it short. We didnt click emotionally i guess; but im still intrigued to know her. First dates arent always easy but i could tell we felt comfortable. But sexual/physical attraction was definitely there.
While getting drinks, weā€™re making out a lot. And i swearā€¦ it genuinely felt like we were kissing like we were in love at her place. It didnā€™t escalate to anything more; we both had early mornings. I went home and she immediately texted me to see her again soon, that Iā€™m a great kisser, and to let her know when Iā€™m home safe.
Iā€™ve been in contact reaching out, trying to make conversation and attempting to make plans. She responds, but doesnā€™t engage. If that makes sense. Doesnt let the conversation continue, doesnt follow up with letting me know her availability. Eventually i asked because i was receiving a lot of mixed signals. (Mixed signals of saying sheā€™s interested and loves my plans but doesnt make it happen.. watching/interacting with all my storiesā€¦)
She said she didnt feel an immediate spark, but she tends to never feel that with anyone right away. She thinks cool and didnt say much.
Iā€™m guessing shes not a direct person and was letting me down easy. But why say all of that on the night we got together?
More importantly how do i get her out of my head?! Iā€™ve been on other dates and kissed others, and I enjoy it in the momentā€¦ but iā€™d be lying if I said I sometimes think about how much better it was with her
Never has one kiss left me this hooked

2024.05.29 05:26 BaskerRubbnits I know a lot of us want mechs to be better, but how about we make it a bit more interesting?

There have been plenty of posts around of people wanting to have a stratagem call in or something along the lines to be able to refill the mechs, for good reason! They're fun, and really good at their strengths (shredding through chaff and medium armor, with the occasional heavy at a hefty ammo cost) but eventually the bullets run dry and fun hose stops delivering fun at 6000 rounds/min.
Once the bullets run out, mechs aren't much more than a really expensive decoy, or maybe a slightly faster way around the map for heavy armor enthusiasts, and with a hefty cooldown, there can be considerable time between the fun. We've had countless posts at this point asking for either buffs to the mechs to make them stronger for the short uptime or to make their uptime better by way of being able to resupply their ammo. I'm personally in favor of the latter, as its both in line with other stratagems (support weapons, other than EATs, have long cooldowns but can be fed by ammo/resupply bricks between cooldowns) and you get to spend more time doing the fun, blasting the shit out of bugs/bots in a big ol mech.
To borrow from a favorite youtuber of mine, I'll go over what (I think) we could do, then go over why we do it.
This is a multi part system, partially to leave room for it to interact with other vehicles/stratagems in theory
  1. Vehicle resupply stratagem
  1. Vehicle specific "stratagem codes"
Currently you cannot use stratagems while piloting a mech, this was something you could do in helldivers 1, but this would not interfere with that should they give us the ability to do so again.
All put together it converts the mech's (and potentially other future vehicles) to pseudo team weapons, incentivized to have some teamwork, but serviceable alone.
Its not super free either, someone has to take a stratagem and dedicate a backpack slot to it (granted, you could just not call in the pack until you need it, but dealer's choice in that regard), so I don't think it would push vehicles too too out of line, but still allow for mech enjoyers to be able to lean harder into using their mechs
As a team, you would have
  1. Pilot opening up ammo rack for loading
  2. Teammate slamming ammo into the arm
  3. Weapon is reloaded, back to blasting liberty's enemies
As a lone diver, it would be slower, yes, but still workable
  1. While in mech, open up ammo rack
  2. Hop out of mech
  3. Load ammo into arm
  4. Hop back into mech
  5. pew pew time
Part of the reason I want to make these as pseudo team weapons and slightly more involved than just "walk up and press button" resupply is because I really enjoy how fun the teamwork feels in this game, some of the most fun I've had running with buddies is backpack swapping for support weapons. A duo with a Recoilless Rifle and Airburst rocket launcher carrying each other's backpacks can handle a helluva lot that the bugs can throw at you. With the mech resupply being the way that it is, you can handle resupplying by yourself during the lulls in the mission, but with teamwork you can theoretically pull this kinda thing off even in the middle of a horde.
The other part is Captain Mifune's last stand from the Matrix Revolutions, its a cool clip and I think it encompasses what I'd like to see for the mechs (I'll see if I can find a decent video or somethin on youtube), and I think perfectly encompasses the thrill of pulling off a mid-horde reload for your buddy in the mech. Yea its a cart in the clip, not a backpack, but I think a cart would run into too many issues with terrain, having a giant ass backpack would be a little less clunky I think, at least for the players, in universe god that thing would be a hefty weight on a diver's back.
Probably pretty batshit stupid all in all, but I think it would be a nifty way to make mech's and other future vehicles resupply-able, I have no idea if/how this would impact balance for vehicles, nor do I know if it would even be possible to implement, but it sure as shit would be a lot of fun I think.

2024.05.29 05:26 AutumnFanatic [22/M4A] #Online - Hi! Nerdy person looking for any gender (inc. NB etc) people 18-23 interested in forming a genuine intimate connection

Why did the farmer drive his tractor to the pharmacy? He wanted to visit the farm-assist!
Hi and welcome to my post! Wanted to start off with a funny to me dad joke.
Nice to meet you, I'm Dylan! To put it simple, I am a single 22 year old person who has been pretty lonely in life and lacking human connection. Any gender is welcome :) part of what comes with that is the desire to be intimate with a person. I am very mature for my age and will always be respectful of your boundaries and feelings, especially with anything sexual. Lately all I have is myself when it comes to sexual desires, so I would like to have someone to keep company with in that regard too. And I've also been fairly horny lately so perhaps if you are too we can help each other.
I'm just relaxing at work tonight as it's a slow day. Thinking about going home and burning a woodwick candle. I love candles! šŸ•Æļø Sometimes a campfire outside on a fall night or a crackling WoodWick candle is a relaxing constant among our busy and hectic world. It's nice to just disconnect, feel grounded and happy in your own little cozy space. Feeling calm and collected and at peace. Something that fewer people take the time to do these days.
I am seeking a woman around my age or older to build a close connection with that could possibly lead to a something intimate which includes the possibility of teasing/sharing pics etc. but only when we were comfortable. Figured I would be open in my Intentions as that's the best way to be.
You:
Kind, respectful, and easy going.
Comfortable with the idea of eventually sharing intimate things together.
Willing to eventually move off of Reddit.
Want something genuine and fun!
Are honest in your intentions and a good person to be around!
That's about it, we will get along great I know it.
I've been feeling a little bummed out lately. I always try and stay happy and see the best in things. But.. I've just been so alone. Most of my whole childhood and adult years have been spent feeling lonely. I grew up surrounded by cornfields which was peaceful but also has a lonely aspect to it. My family never really were close and never did anything as a family really. And part of it too is the fact that I never had any neighbors my age to interact with. But aside from that, my adult life has been very lonely. I'm just always by myself. I barely have any meaningful adult relationships or experiences, or even any friends.
I work a 3-11 job in building maintenance at my company world headquarters building which I love, but again it's very lonely. I work the off shift so the building is always empty. I don't get normal social interaction with people my age or a chance to build relationships. I only have 3 older men as co-workers and we are mostly in the basement away from any people on the floors from knowing our existence. I always walk the floors and see office people laughing and chatting with their coworkers and I just don't have that kind of experience. And just.. no one knows I exist really. Everyone probably assumes I have a lot of friends, but I'm struggling inside with being so alone and trying to meet people and get past the "hi how are you?" "I'm good thanks" stage. Most people don't seem to want to talk beyond that. And most women are already in relationships and thus it would seem weird to approach them in an office setting trying to get to know them deeper. But man those "hi how are yous" are the only real interactions I get during my day.. so thus I decided to come here lol. Rant over, sorry! I promise I'm not a downer. šŸ˜…
Now for some things about me!
I am left handed which is pretty cool. I'm not much of a party person or a drinker, I much prefer a quiet night at home and maybe a beer or two on a weekend but that's about it. I am simple and stay out of drama and trouble and don't get much into politics or other things that cause drama with people. I much prefer a relaxing campfire and a night at home and to just let the world keep on turning haha.
Physically I'm 180 pounds, have brown hair, green eyes, and a typical build. There's a few pictures on my profile.
Some of my hobbies are:
ā€¢ Photography
I have a Nikon D200 and D5500 that I love to shoot with. I love nature scenes, abstract, black and white/goth kinda photography, sunsets, etc. it's so fun to just let your mind explore. It's not about what camera you have, but those who are behind the camera!
ā€¢ Cooking and baking
I loveeee to cook and bake! I enjoy making various meals but also love to just have a frozen pizza once in awhile or something like that. I recently made homemade chili which turned out great. I love to bake, especially in the fall! I love pies, cakes, pastries, cookies, etc. I restored a vintage KitchenAid mixer that needed tbe gearbox rebuilt. Eventually I would love to practice home canning my own food.
ā€¢ Music
Oh my gosh, I like so much!! Alternative rock, punk, post punk, electronic, synth pop, psychedelic rock, hard rock, etc. I am very non judgemental and open when it comes to music. My three current favorite bands are Type O Negative, Joy Division, and the Cure.
ā€¢ Nature walks and camping
I really enjoy camping, making fires, and relaxing by a campfire. I love to take walks outside and just enjoy the beauty and simplicity of nature. It's wonderful, especially in a world so focused on everything digital.
ā€¢ Repairing things
I'm a maintenance guy and one of my hobbies is electronics repair so I am good with my hands and just all around good at troubleshooting and fixing all sorts of things around the house. Last week I helped my elderly neighbor get his tractor started, it needed a new component in the starting circuit. So I'm pretty handy which... Comes in handy! šŸ˜‚
ā€¢ Autumn šŸ
This isn't a hobby per say, but man do I love the fall!!! It's my absolute favorite time of the year. Oh my gosh. The beautiful colors, crisp cool air, misty and foggy days, rain, lack of bugs, being cuddled up with a candle or by the fire drinking a tea, etc. I love it! There's only two seasons for me. Fall, and waiting for fall! Haha.
ā€¢ Scented Candles and incense
Going along with my love for fall, I absolutely love candles! I have like 30 something lol. šŸ˜‚ Currently my favorite are WoodWick, which are owned by Yankee candle. They have such a soothing crackle and the scents are great! I also love to burn incense from time to time as well. I have cottagecore hippie vibes.
ā€¢ Old houses and architecture
I love old houses! Especially 1900s and Victorian era homes. Old homes have so much character to them and are just so beautiful from a time when people took pride in their craft. I strongly dislike the modern cookie cutter cheap construction of homes today. I would love to live in an old home one day. I also love their architecture and uniqueness, as well as architecture of old cathedrals and other buildings.
ā€¢ Relaxing
Basic I know, but sometimes on the weekend I just love to get cozy in bed and relax and put on a YouTube video or an album! šŸ˜Š
That's about it for me, I'm a pretty laid back and simple person. My ideal person is someone who is respectful and honest! I am very straightforward and open minded and would hope that you are as well.
If I seem interesting to you at all I would love to hear from you!
Thank you so much for reading.

2024.05.29 05:22 PenisDildoQuestion What is going on in this situation

Long story short I gave this guy my number I barely knew but we saw eachother daily for like a year. I changed jobs.
Without fail, for the past 2 months, we have texted at least once a day. Actually, probably only once a day most of the time. Like one message bubble each.
Every time it's about how our days are. Like sporadically. Any time of the day, night, early morning, late night. We always try to respond. I would text more frequently but apparently he's out of service a lot. And he hasn't texted frequently to my frequent texts so I cooled it down, even though he said to triple text him whenever.
I have carried this conversation and tried to make it exciting. I have asked to go out 3 times in a very nonchalant way.
We have established we both don't know what we're looking for but at this point I'm looking for ANY insight into WHAT is going on. He literally only sends a few different variations of "how's your day. mine's good thanks for asking."
I don't believe I'm this guy's side anything. I have no clue any angle, if any, he could be playing at. I've given him every opportunity to ghost. And yet here we are. I just might be the one ghosting lol, if I weren't stubborn enough to see this thru because goddammit I gave this guy my number.
I have tried everything short of saying I want to smash and sending him a nude. Is someone this dedicated to just troll me like this šŸ˜ Lol

2024.05.29 05:13 jambansangatbusuk AITAH for telling my older sister that she's not my sister anymore?

To start with i am f20 and my older sister is f24. We have younger siblings which is f16 and f13.
My sister and i have grew apart within the years. As i got more mature i realised my sister never a sister to me.
Recently we start living together in our parents house again because she quit her job and i am a fresh drop out college student. After years not living together, it feels weird.
She and i have different ideas, different lifestyle. I don't like hers and she don't like mine. We have arguments and fights for that. But i have two major fights with her that deeply hurt me.
The first one.
On that day, my family are currently having dinner. My younger sister is telling me about her day at school. She look proud telling about how her peers and teachers loved her. I keep listening quietly and didn't say anything as i wait for her to tell all the story.
My older sister on the other hand, did not do that. She keeps butting in and saying "that doesn't happen" or "that's not really cool" to her. My younger sister instantly got quiet after that and i noticed her changes in her expression.
I start thinking to myself that i would hate if that happens to me so i start defending my little sister. My older sister start to get angry and saying i am putting negative thoughts into her head and trying to make little sis hate her.
I reply by saying she should be considerate for other people. She got angrier and start yelling for me to be quiet. She said I'm not as good as i think i am.
I know. I never said i was good person. But at least i try to be better.
When she yelled at me, i got angry. I start yelling too. I said I'm defending little sis. That quickly turns into screaming match. Now i am a person that cries easily. So i started crying and telling that she never act like an older sister to me. She never treat me like a little sis. The least she could do is try to watch out for other's feelings.
She didn't listen and run back inside her room. She and i didn't speak for quite some time. And after we speak again, she just act like nothing happened while i remember every single thing.
I hate it when she would make little comments about everything i do. She would go absolutely apeshit if i gave her the same energy.
I love cooking and i would always try to learn and cook new recipes because i wanna eat them. Whenever i cook, her first reaction is insults my cooking saying it doesn't look good and horrible. Second is she would ask for my food. She would always, ALWAYS ask for my food.
Fast forward to today, during this time we had small arguments here and there but never big. Today my mother ask me to cook because she is tired. So i start preparing the ingredients and start cooking.
My older sis and younger sis comes to the kitchen that time. I start to feel a little annoyed because i know she will ask for it. It's not i don't want her to eat, i hate it when i would spend hours cooking alone and she would comes out her room, eat the food and return back to her room.
Our arguments started when my older sis and younger sis are talking about something. I didn't join the conversation until my older sis start to ask me something. So while cooking, i to them. Then, my sister brings up something that i use to do YEARS ago. Mind you that it was extremely sensitive topic for me.
So my mood start to changes. I told my mother to continue my cooking because i don't want to do it anymore. Then my older sis start to get a little mad. She said i shouldn't get offended because she was only joking and that i can't take a joke.
I reply back by saying i don't want to cook for lazy people. That's when she got angry. She said she don't even want my cooking because it's horrible. Everything i cook is horrible.
Who doesn't get angry at that? So i asked her if my cooking is that horrible, why she always ask me for my food? She answer that she just want to have taste test. She said she would never ask for me anything again.
I reply by saying i don't believe her because this isn't the first time she said that. I bring up the fact that she literally borrow my money and asked for my food two days ago.
Then she start telling me to be quiet and get mad at me. She ask why i want to start arguing. I was absolutely baffled because she's the one that starts this. So i asked her why she suddenly said that my cooking is horrible.
She keep telling me to be quiet and i keep asking her. I wanna know what gives her this audacity to be a brat. But she doesn't answer and quickly went back to her room
I started crying after she left and she said i was being dramatic. Because she don't want to listen to me, i texted her. Here's what i said:
"You should joke around stuff like that and expect people not be offended. You shouldn't joke like that because you would go wild if people jokes about your sensitive stuff. You never treated me like a little sister. I want you to know what you're not my sister anymore and hadn't been for a long time. I have friends that would act more of a sister to me than you'll ever be."
After that i blocked her contact.
So, am i the asshole for this?

2024.05.29 05:13 SeaworthinessSuch720 Anyone struggling with overexplaining?

I'm a late diagnosed, but all my life I've been "misunderstood" that's how it feels, I even tried all my life to socialize which I can now as an adult and succesfully (kinda) but I remember certain part of my teenage years when every time I was introduced to a new group of people, later on the friend who introduced me, told me, "they didnĀ“t like you, but they don't know why" and that happened a lot which makes sense now.
The new "bad" habit I picked up as an adult is overexplaining everything when I feel just a tiny threat of a misunderstanding, could be relationships or friendships, I feel I can never do short statements about explanations when there's conflict because I think I have to cover every possible misunderstanding and the other person is cool with me.
The other person often feels overwhelmed by such amount of explanation and probably they feel it's uncalled for, or they think I mean drama and I was told that I repeat the same point over and over, because if I feel misunderstood I try to explain and explain until I feel like I'm understood and nothing is ruinedbetween us, then the other person is not responding as I need and I repeat the cycle, I'm usually cut off but never too badly because when I do this I'm still very gentle and composed and understanding, but it has ruined a lot of things for me and I feel like a fool for not being able to contain it when I feel bad (I have trouble recognizing and handling emotions, so when I feel a little upset or sensitive I tend to do all of the above without much control)
Do you have any advice on how I can generally speak in a shorter way? I always feel like I need too much text to express myself properly and I'm feeling a really, really sad urge to mask this, because it's frustrating and I never mean any harm by overexplaining, I just want to be understood and understand the other person, but NT's or maybe other people see that as "drama" and it's sad and isolating sometimes, I always tell the person that I need the dumping or else I feel an overwhelming thing that would make me yap and yap nonstop too, some understand but it's still awkward af sometimes, I'm kind of frustrated and kinda feeling like betraying myself for having masking thoughts.

2024.05.29 05:13 GwynLordofInsomnia Prowling Magus and Congregation

So, one thing I always thought about is that one of the last appreciated bosses in the game is actually a missed opportunity to have a potentially very cool boss fight .
What I mean is that the biggest problem I see with this particular boss is simply how trivial it is. It's hard to understand what led the developers to make this "half baked boss fight", because to make it interesting you only needed to give Prowling Magus more life, like any other boss level if health and more poise and then we'd have a cool and potentially memorable boss there.

2024.05.29 05:10 innovate_rye the sam altman hate is sum BLM/Hamas/Woke Agenda Type S***

  1. i am absolutely dumbfounded at the sam altman hate. before nov. 2022, most of y'all didn't even know the guy. now he is public enemy number one in the ai/tech world?
  2. ilya sutskever is a p****. how are you that damn smart & that damn dumb at the same time? you are on the road to creating a god, you have to play the capitalistic game. how many of you are making ai startups, products or just everyday solutions using ai? is this free? NO.
  3. acceleration is good. as an american, i genuinely fear dictators or terrorist organizations with god level ai. i also fear working my ass off for the next 40-50+ years of my life and when i am retirement i don't want ai to fully automate most/all jobs. i want that as soon as possible because wtf did i just work for? for fun? to not be bored?
  4. to come into immense power, you have to control it, maintain it, & keep that power sustainable. yes, it is very clear sam altman understands power structures and is machievellian. same with politicians, other founders & ceos, kings, priests, and even higher ups at your local job. there is no way you are malding because mr. altman reads history and understands power. warren buffett is mega rich because he played the long term game, made the long term investments, compounded his stocks, and got his money right. sam altman and the openai team are doing the same thing. they have pioneered a pipe dream to full ledge reality.
  5. i absolutely hate to get political but the liberal agenda is an echo chamber. ai is new, hype and scary. if i am a media person, i want sam's head so my media company controls the narrative around ai, not the leading ai companies, certainly not sam altman.
  6. sam altman is gay. hello? not even into this pride s*** but that's a legendary figure for that subset of people in a position of high power. absolutely nothing wrong with that just odd how the same media that promotes this agenda to children (and y'all are somehow okay with that) will s*** on his face. that is the most demonic two faced thing i have ever seen.
  7. agi as biological warfare.
google deepmind is heavily focused on science based ai. i can imagine all the amazing discoveries and potential catastrophes that could occur. i don't trust demis hassabis, i don't trust sundar pichai, i don't trust sam bankman fried's backed anthropic, i don't trust google. yet this is the real threat here! covid-19 is not a natural evolutionary strand of virus. now multiple that by instant death by synthetic pathogens. how many viruses do you think could kill you instantly? probably an uncountable number.
  1. AGI is a capitalistic based race. i don't need a white, asian, latino, black AI. i need facts, objective and grounded reality. google has an obvious liberal agenda, and it has seeped into their ai products. wtf?!?! get that s*** out of here please. i don't want to talk to white martin luther king jr. sundar.
  2. "According to Tocqueville, equal social conditions serve to foster and shape the human passions in ways that may not be compatible with freedom."
ā€œA society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.ā€ ā€œOne of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results" - milton friedman
  1. religious cult activities
when people like the deceased leader of hamas says, "we want to kill all americans and all non believers" it is hilarious. when god level ai is true, this could be an ai action by "divine will/justice" making it more of a reality. same could be said for all religions and spiritual beliefs. there is a common pattern and it's leaving a religion is exile and possibly punishable by death. so when allah ai is real, it might literally kill you if you don't believe. anthropic's "constitutional" ai structure allows for this to happen. anthropic gives the quran as the constitution and now we are all f***ed.
  1. if you hate sam altman and use openai products, STFU! if you hate sam altman and use other ai products, why are you using less advanced AI? you are only hurting yourself. game is game and openai won. period. but all of you are killing progress by finding every tiny error and going crazy over it.
  2. sam altman being fired
possibly will go down as one of the top tier brain dead moments of all time, it shows the capitalistic value of ai makes people work and perform exceedingly well. if your company was worth $100,000,000 per person, out of 800+ people, how would you react? mope on twitter that your alignment team got disbanded? boo hoo, you were in the damn way. this s*** is not a game, and if you lack, you lose. literally proven by the idiocracy from both google and elon musk quoting, "ai is moving too slowly". no, your foresight is just dogs***. also ray kurzweil works at google so how are you going to deny agi before gpt2 even came out when the goat of foresight is on your team? and than you liberalize your ai systems when the reality is closer than ever? it's truly beyond me.
  1. if you are team human, support openai & sam altman. if you are pro liberal ai god, use your '1984' google machine. because that is the reality you are going to get. so f*** you for f***ing us all. you thought sam altman was manipulative when all of media is team google, their actual ai systems came with a political agenda (which is extremely dangerous no matter what party or government affiliation you have).
  2. rene girard's mimetic theory is correct. sam altman and openai were the mimetic catalyst, everyone else is mimetically following their own desire literally imitating openai bar for bar. now we are on the scapegoating phase. "sam altman is manipulative, sam altman is in it for the profit, sam altman lied about his monetary affiliation with openai". ok? and nancy pelosi isn't manipulative, or uses the media to create her image the way she wants? this is textbook scapegoating.
the last phase: violence
everyone wants to build agi now and they want their agi to be the one to rule them all. i don't see silicon valley losers starting a literal war but i see countries fighting for power everyday. i can't even imagine post-agi future but i 100% want openai to be the first and they will.
  1. f*** yann lecunn. it's cool you open source your models but teams of 5 people are beating your trillion dollar company. you pioneered selling your soul in the ai space congrats šŸ‘
edit: yall some world record paced speed readers. nice!

2024.05.29 04:50 No-Peak-5182 Trust fund baby? (update)

Hey everyone!
So, I read through the replies from the last thread and am so thankful for the advice. It was really eyeopening how insightful everyone was. Because truly I wasn't sure what this guy's deal was. So the goal of this date was to get more info like others suggested.
Anyway, we went on our third date and it was kind of interesting. He took me to an upscale restaurant, the kind where the waitstaff put the napkin in your lap for you haha. I think he could tell I was still a bit...cautious? So anyway he asked me if something was up, guess he could sense it. I did tell him I was a little skeptical about his situation so he did open up to me, which was kind of eye opening.
He told me he's always been passionate about art, studied it in school, and then after school went to go work for his family's company in the marketing department (he helped with their ads). He spent a few years doing that, but said it wasn't what he wanted to do, didn't like the office culture and felt out of place since the relationships were so fake since people knew who he was. So he quit and pursued art. He showed me his little art website (it was kind of cute haha), and told me he doesn't make any money from it and was a struggling artist, we shared a laughed which was nice.
But then he said he isn't totally inactive with the business, he attends the shareholder meeting every year, and he's on the board of their foundation and helps with coordinating donations(showed me the website with his name/picture listed). He shared a couple of the cool donations he helped with from around the world and he seemed really passionate about it. He didn't tell me before because "that's not really work" and he spends more time traveling and painting/art.
Anyway it was a nice dinner, he paid and then asked if I wanted to go on another date to paint some little ceramics at a small place in the city. He promised it's not to show off because in his words "I suck at painting". It sounds like a cute date so I think I'm up for it.

2024.05.29 04:49 Izzillla I hate our father for warping our feeling of intamacy. Feels like we'll never know innocent love.

I fell in love with a part 2 months ago. We are in an AFAB body that has, among many other things, OCD, limerence, and deep insecurities.
We already had/have an outer-gf, but my inner-gf feels more like "mine". Who else can I feel their joy in my heart like it's my own... Maybe it's very indirect self love, we all have mild variations of the body's face, and I love looking in the mirror more sense loving her...so who knows. Don't care. I love her. I still do...
My inner-gf is soft, frilly, sparkly and likes pink since we were kids, and I'm ... The opposite. I am a polite but ill-mannered neurotic punk who overshares when their nervous... Ever sense our teens. The body is almost 30 now. Why we never realized we were different ppl between the amnesia, dissociation, and personality overhauls beats me. Maybe I thought I was a phase. Really funny and obvious in hindsight.
She likes being scooped up, and I like scooping. We're addictingly compatible, we can go anywhere and do anything together, and most of all we understand our pain ...and it feels amazing.
But here's all the fucked up stuff I can't tell anyone. You rdy?
My age-sliding gf holds the memories of our fathers CSA, our masc shell alters kindnesss reminds her of the father she wished she had, and now my gf is suffering intrusive sexual attraction to him because we have OCD, and we've all struggled with inappropriate sexual feelings toward any one who makes us feel safe, Because our father, our brothers, our cousins, every male person we trusted preyed on us, and it's making literally everyone in the system feel terrible, especially my gf who is now feeling suicidal for for corrupting the safest outlet she had to heal it.
This is just... Torture. It's literal torture and we're all tired.
We are both healing hypersexual parts too. I have some of those SA memories, but it's incredibly vague.
Long story: you don't have read, I just... I've seen other systems dump, and I need it... I really need it right now I'm so tired.
She coped by sexualizing her victimization, i coped by sexualizing victimizing. I've never actually victimized anyone, but I liked very "borderline" porn from the perspective of the "initiator" ,I'll say that. I have sense stopped watching it now because I realized playing "predator" is so I don't have to confront how I was preyed on... I am hypervigilant about anything that could scare her or me now.
I put in work to be better. Especially now with my sparkly GF who age regresses when she's vulnerable... Our intrusive thoughts are mutually corrosive sometimes, and my worst fear is being a monster like our father.
So... Falling in love with her meant we had to confront those wounds. I was afraid I was a monster, and she only knew monster love, so... not being able to hide them those intrusive thoughts, and having the subject just go "it's okayšŸŒø I like being afraid!!" Took all of my stength to rise above our mutual depravity.
It was hard, sometimes hilarious, but we actually did it. I taught her real love is when someone respects your consent. There's no such thing as "loving someone so bad you can't resist them", that's what parasites do, not ppl who love you. It made both of us trust me more, because given the chance, i never hurt her.
Apparently , that whole time I didn't realize that I'm not the only one who's afraid of being a monster... So is our shell. Let's call him "Sheller". Sheller is a strange person. I'm a strange person. We get along well now that they realize they're a part too, not a container, or robot. We still do, things are just... Awkward... It's not his fault...
Sometimes I'd blend with Sheller, and they'd struggle to seperate my love for my gf from their own. They're like me in that they don't really feel like a woman either. So we both felt NB. Till he realized he didn't.
This poor dude... Had no idea the can of worms identifying as masculine would open. The dude just wanted to see himself, and when he did, it was a big healing thing to stop feeling like he only existed as our shadow. Truly, nothing is different now, he's just like 8 inches taller, boob-less, and his shoulders are wide. He's just as nice and safe as before, although more afraid of hurting us now.
I tbh didn't mind he thought my gf was cute, cuz she is!!! I trust him , and Of course he likes being around her, she's like sunshine and rainbows, it feels good to feel her joy, and when he blends with her he just fades in the back without thinking. He blends and expresses with everyone, it's his job lol. He also feels genuine joy when I am happy, and he supported and mediated our couple issues, he has and continues to be really supportive of us. He works a job and gets us shit he doesn't care about just cause it makes us happy. But I knew he was always quietly lonely. He loved seeing my gf get scooped up by me, cause she's a part of him too, a part that needs to feel loved and cherished. We all baby her tbh, but he never crossed any boundaries.
But then, this month, he fell in love with our old shell... "Shelley". Shelley had been inside an inner "infirmary" for a bit. She went through... so much for us. Shelley couldn't talk for years after ...And when she was finally discharged with his help... They bonded over the unique trauma of being shells, and being intense and weird. And when I say this dude was down bad, I mean it, he was down bad. Me and my gf are like treble, but they're BASS. Their love was so deep, and inspiring. Me and my gf were so happy, it felt like our awkward and stunted older brother fell in love and was opening up. We were going to have a cool older couple to bond with, and they were both just funny to watch too. We also remember reaching through Shelley, who never knew she was a system, but took care of us somehow even so, so we already cared for her.
My gf was happy for them, but started getting triggered by the glimpses she would see of their intimacy, and it made her think of the things she saw our parents doing by accident. And shed pop up sometimes when Shelley would feel those bright frilly things, and it would confuse her and make her uncomfortable.
She got really upset at Sheller one day and age regressed, telling everyone how uncomfortable it made her feel, pointing fingers and crying. Sheller felt terrible... He apologized profusely to my gf, asked how to make amends, and I did my part to soothe the rift between them too.
My gf felt very ashamed of both her regression and otp reaction, so she apologized for triggering his intrusive thoughts about being a monster again. She realized when she was big again that she was misdirecting anger at our father onto him, because Sheller is actually safe. She said she thinks she just wished she had pointed fingers at our Dad when he did what he did.
I think Shellers reaction to her discomfort was so gracious, kind, and safe... that she realized how much better things would have been for her if our Dad was like Sheller.
So she asked him if he could be her Dad. ... Lmao
He, understandably, insisted he was not stable enough to do that. He has too many intrusive thoughts he was still healing from, and could not risk both his own and her mental stability having even more responsibility on top of what he does. He was also honest that he saw my gf had some weird intrusive thoughts already slipping through and making him further uncomfortable. He said if he didn't share a brain, he would accept in a heartbeat, cause he likes taking care of us. And she accepted that well, but was sad.
She apologized about the intrusive thoughts, but when she thought about it more deeply, she explained she never had a safe male role model who didn't prey on her. That she wishes she had someone who could model familial love for her, and be a safe source of intamacy when she just wanted to be held without worrying it would turn sexual. She said I'm safe, but her attraction to me and mine to her reinforced the blurry lines she has around healthy admiration and sexuality. Me being the one to love her romantically but also hold her while shes age regressed sometimes makes her feel she's still warping those lines. I understand it, cause tbh, Sheller made me feel safe in that way too, but more like a brother.
He maintained his stance but said he already saw her as something like family. She realized it was enough to just know he loved her, and wasn't going to forget about her, and that we could all have family events with games or movies, and that was enough for her to move on happily.
The next day Sheller and Shelley had a beautiful date. They kept it inncoent in case my gfs signal was pulled in by accident. It was, but it wasn't a big deal, they were just dancing. I came out too so my gf felt less awkward. We had a whole evening together the four of us, and it was very fun. We just danced to our fave songs and listened to the rain storm.
My gf actually felt so happy and content. Id dance with her, and she's look over and see Shelley and Sheller laughing at us and waving at her. She was so happy, and felt like she finally had a family. But it was like... Out of nowhere she began spiraling.
She felt like she was going to lose all of us. She felt like she'd do something to mess things up. That her heart was breaking, or someone else's was. She couldn't place where it was coming from. Just heartbreak. Twisting sickening dread. Fear of abandonment. She started pulling back again and we all tried to comfort her to no help.
I switched in to comfort her more easily... But then I felt it too... It was like this depressive miasma... I started having all the same fears. Maybe I was just blending, but it was so confusing
She spent so long trying to understand why she felt this way, and testing different ideas, and now shes having those intrusive sexual attraction to Sheller really high.
Everyone involved feels fucking terrible now.
My gf has become incredibly depressed. She's terrified I'll leave her over this- and yeah, it's pretty disturbing and triggering for me, but I'm not really upset at her. I don't think I want to leave her yet. I mean I have intrusive sexual thoughts too, I've even had them about Sheller myself! But hers are way worse, cause she gets little and sees him as a father figure sometimes, and that must be so šŸ¤¢... OCD is like a shark and the more terrible a thought is the harder it tortures you with it.
My gf is trying not to feel suicidal... She's been far away all day... She feels like she will never know peace... Everytime she finally has someone show her love, her body reacts inappropriately, and not only will she lose me, but Sheller will Lose Shelley because he's getting his own intrusive thoughts about my gf, Shelley feels terrible because this all happened when she came along but my gf is afraid Shelley hates her, when she was excited to be yinyang friends with Shelley (who is also cute but more into spooky things).
Me and Shelley feel insecure too, cause like... Sheller is more masc than me and my gf is more femme than Shelley, so we are projecting all the insecurities into it. And what if we're wrong to trust them and they just run off and decide to have some gross fucked up trauma-themed relationship? Idk man, it's so mortifying even talking about it. But I really love both Sheller and my gf still, even with this burning in my chest, and they both are struggling with suicide ideation right now, and its just...
It's a whole ass mess...Our caretaker alt thinks Shelley, (sense she's an old shell) was blending with Sheller or my gf, and we were feeling her emotions, which we know she struggles with. It probably is that tbh. Cause we can barely lock onto Shelley sometimes. We think this is why it's been so weird and we don't even sound normal lately, and our signals are coming from weird angles.
So yeah... That's where we are... I just wanted to vent I guess. Support is welcome. I don't know man... Just feel so tired and embarrassed lol. I just feel like... Were so mentally ill and I hate it. Ugh... I hate our dad so fucking much. He really fucking broke us, and we're still in so much pain.
The only good news is we all have our anger placed in the right direction, not each other. We all understand what's happening isn't more than trauma. It just hurts so damn much ... Ugh... I really some how think we'll get through this... That day was so nice... And I felt so safe and happy... We all did ... And I think that's why we all possibly mutually ruined it lolol.

2024.05.29 04:48 Croue Opinions on current factions and skills

Wall of text warning: I was writing a comment on another post but I figured I'd just make my own topic on it with my full thoughts on each faction and their skills, balancing, etc, after about 20 hours of playing (enough to get a decent idea). Personally I don't feel like any particular faction is especially strong currently and I think the balance of the factions is actually pretty decent overall.
Cleaners are the weakest by far (not very far, though) and seem to suffer from some confused design choices. The Firebomb is great for punishing bunched enemies or denying area but this is a ranged game at the core so it often is completely useless on many maps or just makes you vulnerable if you try to use it aggressively, and particularly in mobile modes like Escort where there is high kill turnover and less opportunity for anyone to keep a strong foothold. The Incendiary Drone is decent, does what it should, not a lot to say about it. Strong alternative skill to Firebomb for mobile modes. Their Incendiary Ammo is a bit useless in a vacuum due to the nature of the TTK because most of the time it will not result in a kill you wouldn't have already gotten and it doesn't deal enough damage on its own to really speed up the TTK in any meaningful way. You still have to shoot someone the same number of times to get a kill and if you stop shooting to let the DOT tick instead you'll just die. On top of that, Incendiary Ammo actually reduces your weapon optimal range, and as mentioned before, this is typically a ranged game. The Incendiary Ammo shines more in situations where someone is running away and a teammate can finish them off instead since then it may have done enough damage or canceled their regen enough. It seems as though the Incendiary Ammo might be meant to offer a counter to Libertad's healing-oriented skills but it usually doesn't make a great deal of difference even there. Weirdly, the best weapons for taking advantage of Incendiary Ammo are snipers since it more or less guarantees a kill no matter where you hit someone with the Tac-50 even if it's a leg or arm shot, and guarantees a kill with the M44 in the body, in spite of the "reduced range". Personally the times I've seen Incendiary Ammo end up killing me is right after I had already killed them first anyways, so it was more of a kill guarantee after death than a true advantage in the fight itself. The Cleaners are still playable, just kinda why would you choose them over anything else if you aren't playing them because you like them. Also the Cleaner ultra is ridiculous if you get in a good spot to use it because it instantly kills anyone you hit but again its range makes you vulnerable. The Cleaners biggest strength at the moment seems to be that they have messed up hitboxes, honestly. I think that the Cleaners really need some kind of help on their skills as they are now, they are weirdly situational and difficult to safely employ, but I suppose that is the real philosophy of the Cleaners as it is, they run around with explosive tanks on their backs that instantly kill them in The Division so an exploding flaming firebomber that may or may not live through their skill is oddly appropriate.
Echelon is strong by nature of being a crutch. Intel Suit lets the enemy team know you're nearby and can see them thanks to the notification, smart/skilled players will just listen for you and it's not a huge advantage against them, below average players won't pay attention to it though and it's quite strong against players that don't have good audio or are unaware of where their flanks are. However, the main advantage of the Intel Suit is that it reveals the enemies for your whole team no matter where they are. While you have to be in closer range to detect enemies with it, your teammates can be on the opposite side of the map and still see exactly where the enemy is which is a massive advantage. Digital Ghillie Suit is honestly a pretty balanced skill, someone paying attention will still notice you and Intel Suit counters it (weirdly, same faction counter) but it has a lot of outplay potential and lets you reposition or get into weird spots that the enemy team might not expect if they are distracted. It offers a similar advantage that Phantoms skills do in that it can easily be used to disengage a losing gunfight back into your advantage for a kill instead. Not much wrong with it, it's a well designed skill-expression skill. Echelon passive is kind of whatever, I don't feel like it's a great advantage because it gives you no direct benefit in a gunfight or even while traversing the map most of the time, it's another thing that is strong against unaware or distracted players. The Echelon ultra is of course quite strong in even an average-skilled players hands thanks to real-time wallhacks and a Golden Gun, although the sound it makes and sonar waves effects do put a bit of a target on you and sometimes the OHK gun doesn't actually get a OHK (somehow) but even being guaranteed just 2-3 kills for the duration is still enough to wipe an objective and some players will even try to hide from it. Echelon is overall a strong faction to use against players that are worse than you (likely why it is the most popular faction seemingly at the moment) but it doesn't provide any major meaningful advantage against equal or more skilled players since that will come down to your more practical gunfighting skills instead the majority of the time. Digital Ghillie offers some potential to outplay even skilled opponents but aside from that their skills heavily depend on their opponents being distracted to take advantage of them fully. Given that, the faction is pretty well balanced even with multiple players spamming Intel Suits on one team, since it only offers opportunities, it doesn't exploit them for you.
Phantoms are my personal favorite faction because I feel as though they have the widest degree of skill expression over any of the others. Mag Barrier used smartly can completely turn a lost gunfight around in your favor, especially if there is a choke point or corner you can use to make enemies chase you. Mag Barrier is one of the few skills in the game that is actually a punish skill when you use it correctly by letting an enemy get caught out if they try to ego on you or think they are winning the fight. That's on top of everything else it does. The EMP grenade is only a "counter" to it if someone is mindlessly spamming it because when used correctly you don't have time to throw an EMP grenade. You would have to pre-emptively EMP the Phantom player for every encounter if they use it well and that's not very feasible in a dynamic scenario. That said, Mag Barrier is fairly weak in terms of pure cover and a determined player can chew through it in a few seconds if you carelessly use it without exploiting the advantage it gives, or grenades can be thrown around it, enemies can run through it, its strength comes down entirely to the user. Blitz Shield is also a strong punish skill but currently the way player collision works makes it difficult to use against anyone that is experienced or skilled because no enemy player collision means they can jump through you. You can't really use the shield to turtle 1v1s since enemies can just run through and behind you, even if you're in a corner. Most players won't do this or know it's possible, so it can be a bit of a crutch against less skilled players at least. The Blitz Shield is mainly strong for punishing around corners if someone chases you since you can typically swap to it fast enough to surprise them before they get around the corner. It's also good for absorbing damage at range or aggressively disrupting enemy players on an objective for your team to pick off but that depends a lot on how good your team is and less on the shield itself. Phantoms passive is honestly extremely strong, and IMO the best passive in the game currently. Having 20 more health is massive when 110 damage OHK body shots exist since it allows you to survive hits no other faction can and combined with the other skills it offers retaliation and outplay potential no other faction has. The Phantom ultra is a bit mediocre in terms of kill potential, due to lack of range or mobility, vulnerable to grenades, and various other problems that come with moving slow and telegraphing yourself to the entire map as a giant target. The ultra's primary purpose is of course simply being a big shield to deny area to the enemy team or offer your team a safe place to stand on objectives for pushes. The Phantoms are a well-balanced and strong faction currently that offers a lot to players that know how to take advantage of their skills properly.
Libertad is probably the most well-balanced faction in the game at the moment. It's very straightforward and easy to grasp for players of all skill levels and doesn't depend on a lot of gun skill, map knowledge, or general experience to perform decently. Since none of their skills are directly offensive, they are easy to employ in a variety of situations, like fortifying an objective or pre-emptively giving your teammates an advantage for a push, refreshing a teammate after a close gunfight, using mid-gunfight for a surprise comeback, etc. El Remedio is such a strong heal that it can greatly increase your EHP in a straight gunfight to the point you need multiple extra hits to kill if the enemy misses any shots, and if you manage to break contact with them briefly you can set up the heal on yourself for a surprise punish similar to the Phantom Mag Barrier. It forces the enemy to decide if they try to kill you or break the canister first and assuming you are equally skilled, you will usually end up winning the 1v1. The main downside to El Remedio is its fairly long cooldown so you have to use it smartly or else you won't have it for major moments when your team might have needed it. It's strong and has some skill expression to it in a variety of ways. BioVida Boost is one-time instant version of El Remedio with similar uses, but it works much better with a unified team push and has a shorter cooldown which makes it much more useful for a more mobile style of play. Not only that but its heal is essentially instant, again being very strong if you manage to break contact for a moment in a gunfight to come back with full health before the enemy got their natural regen. Libertad's passive has no strings attached, simply natural regen with no downtime for you and any teammates near you, doesn't require you to do anything and is always active which makes it great for people of all skill levels since it's always being taken advantage of. The Libertad ultra is literally just an even bigger version of El Remedio that also increases your and teammates max HP massively, it can guarantee a last second payload push or let you lock down a critical objective to break out a losing zone match. Libertad is generally the best faction for anyone that's really new or isn't that great at FPS games since it doesn't depend on your technical skill too much aside from simply staying alive to give your team a constant advantage. Another nice thing about Libertad is they synergize incredibly well with the Phantoms' huge health pool. The only outstanding weakness of Libertad is the old classic: your teammates. It has very little potential to actually carry and under focused fire their healing is pretty irrelevant so you're not exactly going to go tank a payload by yourself. Even with the ultra on, a single person can chew through it and kill you if you give them long enough (not very long).
I've not gotten to play around a ton with DedSec yet but my initial impression is that they are very similar to Phantoms in terms of skill expression and offer a ton of flexibility that other factions don't have through being able to hack enemy deployables and regenerating devices. I would not call them imbalanced, but I do think they are the one faction that currently does lean the most into that because they counter every single other faction. Being able to shut off enemy skills and ultras is huge, even if it takes their own ultra to do it. But you are effectively turning everyone on the enemy team into the Rookie from Rainbow Six Siege temporarily while all the players on your team get to keep their skills. If you have multiple DedSec players on your team and properly chain the ultras then you are looking at a free objective push every single time. The Spiderbot is fairly alright, but it's currently bugged and sometimes enemy players can't destroy it properly which makes it stronger than it actually is, and that's on top of it taking more than one hit to kill anyways which I personally think shouldn't be a thing either. In its current state it is basically a guaranteed kill on anyone you hit with it if you use it aggressively, though, and I do think it should be adjusted in some way after they fix the desync issues with it. Hijack isn't always super relevant because at the moment deployables aren't very long-lived or common, but being able to flip a Phantom Mag Barrier is wildly strong and is the only counter play to a choke point punish in that it punishes the punish. Hijack is fairly useless though if the enemy team all happen to pick Echelon or Cleaners (which is a fair possibility). I think the skill is still a good skill expression skill and fine, though. The DedSec passive is unsurprisingly very strong because being able to throw two proximity mines on an objective or get multiple uses of grenades is obviously something no other faction can do and those things are one per life for a reason. The passive doesn't benefit if you don't live long enough to use it, though, so it can be kinda useless depending on the situation: if you never throw your grenade or mine, the passive literally does nothing. DedSec is currently in a very strong state overall, while I wouldn't say it's imbalanced, it's definitely one of the better factions if only for the fact it can shut off every enemy skill and ultra and has a way to essentially guarantee a kill.
If I had to "tier" each faction in terms of their effectiveness in a vacuum regardless of skill, I'd probably rank them (from best to worst): DedSec > Phantoms/Echelon > Libertad > Cleaners. But that is a very shallow slope with all factions being very much viable to play and do well with.
All of this is also given without thought to the current state of weapon balance generally speaking, while I do feel that Phantoms have a particular advantage currently due to the prevalence of Tac-50s. Echelon's Digital Ghillie also helps them get in close to employ some of the better weapons in the game currently like the MP7 or double barrel. DedSec's spiderbot sets them up for kills with all kinds of weapons, particularly the Tac-50. I don't see any of these skills being worse off without the existence of those weapons, however.
If I were to speculate on any adjustments that should be made: Spiderbots need to be fixed ASAP so they always properly appear on the targets screen to destroy them (not really an "adjustment", a bug fix). Libertad needs some kind of light buff in my opinion, maybe a bonus effect on a skill like slightly increasing max HP (good to help deal with prevalence of OHK snipers) or an alternate mode that poisons or debuffs enemies (Viviro would make sense because it's the chemical weapon made by the same company in Far Cry 6). Cleaners need a little bit of help, maybe allow them to also select Molotov cocktails as grenades that make small fire puddles that aren't quite as strong as their skills as a form of area denial to sort of solidify their "stay the fuck away from me" presence as a faction. The big one people talk about is the Intel Suit for Echelon but I honestly don't see much issue with this. The game literally highlights enemies for you already as it is, seeing them through walls briefly isn't a huge stretch when you can already hear people running around anyways since (thank god) we don't have anything like Dead Silence/Ninja/Covert Sneakers in this game. Echelon is a noob stomping faction and that's why it's generally popular right now but I think once more people get access to DedSec we will start to see more of them instead.
Anyways, that's all for today. I do really hope Ubi upkeeps this game well and makes smart balancing decisions that keep the game fun and engaging without oversimplifying or nerfing anything for the sake of salty people. If it were up to me, they'd reduce the TTK to 4 body shots max like original COD4 and then we'd really be cooking (after they fix the netcode, that is). Also hoping for The Division themselves to be introduced as a playable faction with deployable drones or even seeker mines...

2024.05.29 04:46 Rich_Height5939 Idea to help my magic system

magic is a special atom where if an atom has the same # of electrons it will stick, it has the possibility of having and infinite amount of electrons. if it has 0 electrons it will either become anti magic or destroy the bonds or something. if it has a balanced base it will become solid, 2, 10, 18, 36, ect . i am not sure how to store magic in you or how to make it go in you/ regenerate the magic, but i have an idea that it goes to the center of gravity the thing it is bonded to, and if that place is hallow, then you can do something( i am not sure). i have an idea that you can program it to do stuff based on the electrons in it but i am not sure how to link it to stuff. another idea is that with solid magic, you can make different types of materials but i am not sure how, some ideas are hard, elastic, a type or string or rope. i want to rope this all back to an engineer that becomes that some how uses magic to build cool stuff even in the mist of battle fighting generic mages, warriors, magic animals, or another engineer. these might be 3 separate idea or they could be one idk, i need help.
