2024.04.03 20:20 DrawCharming6381 Wayfarer Profiles #6: Pierce Nuldias
Full Name: Pierce Valente Nuldias
Age: 26
Height: 6'8
Gender: Cismale
Pronouns: He/Him
Species: Ascendant Humanoid
Nationality: 🇺🇸/🇧🇷
Occupation: Enforcing The Gravity of the situation
Jobs: Sous chef Mechanic Gym instructor
Known aliases:
- The Impactor
- Callsign: Meteor
- The Unbreakable Axion
BEGIN STATEMENT:
Humming to the tune of 'Blue Moon' by Frank Sinatra on the radio "Then there suddenly appeared before me~ The only one my arms will ever hold~ I heard somebody whisper plea-GAH!"
Click "Whew! Sorry 'bout that, bro. You scared the daylight outta me, I... what's the tape recorder for?"
"An interview? For the public? Hmm..."
Five seconds of chin stroking later "Well...I guess it couldn't hurt that much. I got awhile until my muffins are done anyway. Let's do it!"
Chair creaks "Alright. Pleased to meet you folks, my name is Pierce Nuldias, and I'm...I...I really don't know how I'm 'sposed to do this."
Hearty chuckle "Okay, let's start with something easy...maybe...Oh! Some uh...what are those called? Backstory, that's the one!"
"Well, when I was a kid, I always felt like I had a strong sense of duty. Yes, I know it's cliche, but it's true. I was always the mediator among my friend group, and I always felt that it was my job to make sure everyone was safe and happy, and that everything was treated fairly and justly. Yeah, I was a stickler, I admit. But...I think that really helped later in life.
"I was a pretty good kid, I followed the rules, did my work, never really got out of line. Except for...when it came to bullies. Sure, I'd get a little rough with 'em when talking flew out the window, and I'll admit that I lost my temper more than a few times."
"But My Dad saw that potential to channel my anger, and signed me up for boxing lessons. His dad was an old vet from the days of 'Nam, and he himself served his time on the force, so he knew the best ways to fight and keep a cool head under pressure. Maybe that's where I got my stickler attitude from. But hey, I'm not complaining.
"The class was easy enough, I slotted pretty well into the heavy weight class, but that meant that I had to take seniority as the toughest member of the class. I volunteered to ref a few times too, just to make sure everything was in regulation. Rules is rules, after all, and I was gonna make sure they were followed to a tee."
"But after awhile, the whole boxing thing became second nature to me, so I started getting antsy. I wanted to explore other avenues for my life beyond fighting. That's when my Ma introduced me to baking and encouraged me to take some Home Ec classes in High School."
"Seven years later, and I'm still the head chef of the family. I even landed a job at this quaint little steak house downtown. It's a real treat."
"I still box pretty regularly, but I also got into weights and nutrional science. Probably why I was able to bulk up so easily after so many years of being inactive."
"Wha else...?"
Smoke detectors blare "OH GOD, MY MUFFINS!"
Prolonged screaming FUN FACTS:
- Highest bench weight: 1,200 for 50 reps
- Volunteers at The Chicago Youth Center on the weekends
- Built his own modified panhead chopper named 'The Electro Violence'. (Ozzie picked the name).
- Had a brief tenure as a firefighter
- Obtained his great axes from a space faring alien weapons vault disguised as a meteor.
- The first Wayfarer.
- Served in the air force as a fighter pilot for three years.
- Lifted the entire city of Chicago on his back once.
- Favorite genres of music: Jazz, Swing, and Blues

2024.03.29 16:05 PanheadRick Vintage Choppers/Bobbers
Anyone around building and riding antique choppers? Just moved to the area. I have a 1964 Panhead that my uncle bobbed back in the 70’s. I’m currently rebuilding the top end. Had a head gasket leaking and compression getting through the valve seals back into the crankcase. Looking to find other like minded people.

2023.02.15 01:55 Sudden_Yard_6614 What to do with my dad's old Harley?
My dad passed away about three years ago and I (40 something year old female) inherited his 1962 Panhead. This motorcycle was an extension of himself since he got it when he was 16, and I literally grew up on the back of that thing. However, I don't ride motorcycles, and I don't know what to do with it. Three years past and I though the grief would pass and I would have clarity but I still do not. It is sitting in my garage, and every time I look at it it causes me so much sadness. Yet the idea of selling it and someone else riding it makes be sick to my stomach. I honestly want to dig a hole on my property and burry it with his ashes. Ughh. How do I honor both him and the bike?
Edit: I was blown away by all the responses and took the time to really read each and every one. I appreciate you all. It really helped me process the options. I will post a picture of the bike in the comments if I can. My dad bought the bike as a teenager, after going to watch Easy Rider in the theater, and instantly made into a chopper, so I am not sure it actually has that much monetary value since it has been modified and is nothing near original. I can assure you it has been stored properly, with the help of his friends (come on you guys, I am a biker’s daughter). I wish that I was the kindsof bad ass bitch that could jump on it and ride, but that is just not who I am. I have reached out to Wheel through Time to see if they are interested. If they are not, my dad has an old riding partner that loves old Harleys and works on them. I may ask him if he can take possession of it, and ride and maintain it, until he passes, and then make sure when he dies it comes back to me. Maybe by then I will have clearer idea of what I want to do? I am not a person who gets attached to material things. He had another bike which he mostly rode in his later years, and I was able to let that go no problem. But this bike…..it is different. It is like a piece of his soul, and from all the years I spent on the back of it, it is a piece of mine too.

2022.10.18 01:46 PAdogooder Need advice: shop has had my bike since July. I keep getting put off and they keep saying it’s almost done. I don’t want to play hardball because they’re the only good shop around.
I bought a panhead chopper in mostly good shape this summer. Dream bike. I took it to the highly recommended shop here in town. They do a lot of work on vintage bike- multiple WL’s, panheads, knucks were getting worked on and I know the mechanics all ride similar aged bike.
I needed the jockey shift converted to foot shift and hand clutch, plus a front and and rear brake cylinder rebuild. Those have been done. As far as I have been told, they were finished in early September- parts delays, I totally get it.
Since then, I’ve checked in with them about once a week. I keep getting told it’s close and just needs some tweaks on the carb to run right.
And now it’s halfway through October and they’ve had my bike 3 and a half months.
I don’t want to burn bridges because, frankly, I don’t have another shop within an hours drive that I would trust with this bike.
Any advice? I’m trying to be a good customer and defer to professionals, but I have literally never gotten to ride this bike and It looks like I’ll be waiting until spring at this point.
