The so called "Scientific Miracles of the Quran" and "Quran Challenge" are not really miraculous because they are subjective and miserably fail the general understanding of a "miracle".
There are two kinds of miracles:
* An extremely lucky event, like winning the lottery or someone who survives a serious car crash with just a few bruises. The chances are slim but still naturally possible. Its not really a miracle, but still amazing.
* A supernatural/magical event that is otherwise 100% impossible. These only happened in the stories, like splitting the red sea and walking on water. There is no chance for this happening naturally, not with our current scientific knowledge. This is what a real miracle is supposed to be.
Did the Quran have any of these two types of miracles? Lets take a look at a few of them:

1) The Big Bang?
Do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass (ratqan), then We opened them out? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

The chance that Mohammad has heard of this myth disqualifies this from being a miracle. Besides, the assumption that life was made from water is completely wrong. Because the DNA comprises of atoms other than hydrogen and oxygen. So no the verse is not miraculous.
2) Expansion of the Universe?
And We have built the heaven with might and We continue to expand it indeed.

The Universe as we know it today is modern knowledge. When people of long ago spoke of the heavens they were referring to the sun, moon, stars and the clouds. The movement of the clouds would have given the idea that the heavens are expanding. There is nothing extremely lucky nor supernatural about this. So no the verse is not miraculous.
3) Evolution?
“What is the matter with you that you do not ascribe dignity to Allah? And certainly he has created you in stages… And Allah has raised you from the Earth like the raising of vegetation.”

Was Mohammad talking about the modern concept of evolution, or the painfully obvious fact that the human life cycles goes through different stages: infancy, childhood, puberty, adulthood, old age. Likely the latter. There is nothing extremely lucky nor supernatural about this. So no the verse is not miraculous.
4) Embryology?
“Verily, We created man from an extract of clay; Then We placed him as a drop of sperm in a safe depository. Then we fashioned the sperm into a clot; then We fashioned the clot into a shapeless lump; then We fashioned bones out of this shapeless lump; then We clothed the bones with flesh; then We developed it into another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators.”
Qur’an 23:13-15
No we are not made from clay, and no the Sperm is not a person ("him"). But people long ago mistakenly thought that we were all made from sperm and thats it. No one had any idea about the woman's egg. So contrary to a miracle, this verse was actually quite ignorant.
5) Pegs?
“Have We not made the earth a bed, And the mountains as pegs?”
Qur’an 78:7-8
We all know there is a peg when there is something sticking out of the ground. And that is how mountains appear, a gigantic thing protruding from the surface. Can easily be imagined as a peg. There is nothing surprising about this, not a miracle of any type.

The rest in the list are more nonsense.

The problem is, its all subjective. There is no way to objectively measure one against the other. Its all a matter of taste and preference. The muslim would automatically say the quran is better. Most people dont care. And the anti-islam would say the Furqan is better or equal. So there is no way to judge this.

Lets say you have a steady stream of goods that you can buy for X plus 7% tax. Then you sale the goods for Y. How do you calculate the taxes you owe as income?

There’s a long story to get into but basically due to the Florida DMV fat fingering a number, the carfax for my car lists the miles at roughly 30k more than the actual mileage which is displayed on the odometer. I’ve tried, and failed, numerous times to fix the error but the DMV won’t correct their records without a court order and of course carfax won’t correct their records without the DMV correcting theirs.
It’s been a frustrating situation for a couple of years and I’ve eventually accepted that my only option to “correct” the issue is to drive my car until the miles catch up to the carfax.
I’m interested in selling my car private party. I’m planning on listing the car for a price that reflects the mileage listed on the carfax rather than the odometer (so basically whoever buys the car will get a car with 30k miles for the value of a car with 68k miles). I intend on disclosing the discrepancy to potential buyers because it’s the right thing to do and to keep myself in the clear legally.
My questions are,
1) how big of a deal is this discrepancy to potential buyers and more importantly their lenders should they choose to obtain financing
2) what do I need to do legally, other than disclosing the discrepancy, to keep myself out of trouble? I’m assuming some sort of signed statement. The sale would occur in Florida.

I have a total loss valuation from Allstate that seems a bit off and am wondering if I can get some help from this sub. I was not at fault.
The vehicle is a 2006 lexus es330 totaled in essex country MA. Two prior rear-ends, 170K miles, clean inside and out. Their valuation is $3500 base, plus $27 for condition, minus $232 for prior damage netting to $3.3K. I cannot find a similar condition car for this price anywhere... so it seems to be fairly low given edmunds is about $5.5K and they quote NADA as $5150 (but then drop $500 for milage netting $4650).
Allstate uses a third party valuation company (CCC).
They also state that comperables need to be from a dealer, not third parties...
They list "comparables" that are no longer listed for sale so hard to verify much of the detail, the additional comps are not in my state but in NJ....
So for comp valuation it gets somewhat weird, they have
$7K(138K miles) - 1.3K (for miles) - $750 Condition adjustment = $4.5K
$5K(172K miles) + 111 (for miles?!) - $750 condition adjustment = $3.7K
$5K(132K miles) - 1.3K (for miles) - $750 condition adjustment = $2.2K
There are some slight differences in the options, but it's unclear that there ever were "rear power shades" in this car.... and unless there was an exhaustive pull from "local dealer" not sure they had this detail (it wasn't provided in a summary only their "column of checks", another ?? is "xenon lights" which weren't around so would have had to be aftermarket and dealer would have had to put that detail in... (which I'm a bit dubious).
"Condition adjustment sets the comparable vehicle to private owner condition which the loss vehicle is also compared to in the vehicle condition section."
This seems sort of BS and arbitrary.
Also the math on the comps is weird, milage takeoffs seem non-sensical.
Spoke to the adjuster nicely and told him new tires (about $900) are 15 months old and he said if within 12 then send receipts.
Other than that, $3,3K was their best offer (I do want to retain the car so then they remove $770 - their total valuation).
I know the game of insurance is to pay out the lowest they can... so wondering if there's anything I can go back to them with given this summary. The condition adjustment seems to be weird as do the adjustments of the comps but not sure.

Has anyone else been impacted by Car Guru's negligence and if so, I urge you to come forward and contact me so that we can get a large group of victims together and start a class action law suit against this company that continues to damage client's vehicles and cheat people out of their hard earned money.
So, like many of you, my car was a casualty of the flooding last month. At the time, my car, a Jaguar XF 2012 @190k km's, was at the Car Guru garage for a AED 7,500 Service, and they did not tell me that my car was impacted and held it for a further 8 days claiming they were waiting for the parts to come in as the floods led to the delays. On the 8th day following the flood, and 2 weeks after having my car, they informed me the work was done but the car would not start due to water damage! They advised that I should contact my insurance and the only way I could get a police report is after pleading with them to send me quotations of the water damage to be fixed! They refused to send me photos of my car. After further groveling and diligent following up with them and my insurance, my insurance Dubai National Insurance, DNI, has rejected my claim after advising a total loss of my vehicle, since the car was in the care of Car Guru at the time of the storm. Car Guru has stated they have no insurance and have no interest in reimbursing me for any damages or refunding me for the bogus service which should NOT have been carried out after my car was damaged by the rain - it was obviously unnecessary! Does anyone have any advice, besides reporting both my insurance and CG to the DED?
I hope to hear from many of you and I hope you can spread the word to other victims of CG's negligence to step forward.

Hi, I have been selling on eBay for a few years now and have sold more valuable cards in the past. But this is my first time selling high or middle value cards on eBay using 7-day auction. I started them yesterday night and it has been fine. Suddenly I got a bidder with 0 feedback, account was registered in mid 2023.
The current bid price is still not high (only 30% of last 2 similar sales). But I don't want other bidders think that I'm shill bidding my own cards. I do know people might not bid anymore once they see bidder with 0 feedback. Should I remove his bid from my auction?
On one hand I don't know if this is really fair to him as I have no proof that he is shill bidding or he might be a non payer etc. But on the other hand, I don't want other bidders think I'm shill bidding my own auction and turn them away. This is probably not fair to me. I'm also asking this question because I know a seller is doing this. A few months, a seller cancelled one bid from an auction I was bidding at and I became the new high bidder. I reached out to him asking what happened. He told me that he is actively ‘managing' his auction and he will remove all bidder with 0 feedback and block them.

TLDR: see title. wife of a very short time was seeing a massage therapist / former lover behind my back. is that alone enough reason for me to leave her?
I met someone last year in August. It was an intense courtship, we moved in together in December and married at the courthouse on Valentine's day. Now it's not even June, and already I have enough reason to pack up and go. There are several other issues, but there was one that was the last straw.
That was how after we'd only been married about two months, she arranged for a private massage therapist to come to our house. He was going to come while I was at work, I only heard about it when he had to reschedule for a time when I might be home. She described him just as 'this guy'. LONG story short, several weeks later, she eventually admitted (after lying about it, at first) that he wasn't just a good friend but also a former lover! From "many years ago", sure, but they began as dating, had sex, broke it off and became friends. I was absolutely livid. Nearly divorced her. She cried, apologized, begged me not to go. I forgave her and we stayed together.
'Many' in this circumstance is maximum 7, by the way. That's when she moved here originally.
Then I realized when reading my journal and looking at old messages; he'd come to her house before. Way back after we'd only been dating a couple months - but were definitely exclusive - I came over one afternoon and there was a guy on her block loading a massage table into his car. He had asked me to come a bit later, was taking a shower - among other signs. It was clear that he'd been there to see her. She has few neighbors and all of them are very poor (this is in Mexico), they couldn't afford it. Once I jogged my memory enough, I realized it was the same guy. Same car, same bag, same table. I had asked her about it that day, wasn't upset, just curious. She got mad at me for asking and called it an 'accusation'.
She still hasn't admitted that she was having him over back then. I no longer trust her at all, and I'm assuming they were probably doing more than professional massages. (They couldn't have been professional, by the way. All massage therapists learn in their first term of school about ethics, and how you should never take on a client you've had a relationship with, especially involving sex, before.)
So, now, I've found an apartment and am planning on moving June 1st. She can't afford the house we're in, but she has family on the US side (we're in a border town) who can help. What really sucks is that she has to take care of her disabled mother who will be recovering from surgery. I'm going to pay the rent for June at this place and my new apartment, just to help her out.
I keep trying to remind myself that I'm being kinder about this than I have to be. What she did was cheating. It doesn't matter if there was no sex or kissing, or even romance. She did something she knew I would be uncomfortable with, multiple times, lied about it, and still is.
There are multiple other reasons, but those issues alone were manageable. I'm just looking for some backup on if this issue alone is enough reason to break it off and go. My reasoning is that since she's refusing to come clean and be honest, after all this, means that I shouldn't trust her in the future. You can't have true love without trust, and it's a shaky bridge made of thin ice I shouldn't cross. I need to get out before this goes any further, definitely before we have a child.
So, what do you think? Am I right, or should I just get over it and move on.

I wanted to detail my experience and hopefully bring a bit of positivity to future people obsessively hitting this sub because I feel like the majority of what i see here is very negative.
TLDR; seriously, the most important thing is to KEEP YOUR HEAD UP. do not let bad thoughts infect your mind.
im a 29M and on 4.4.2024 i tore my meniscus skiing in canada on vacation. I almost immediately couldnt bear weight on it and got crutches the next day (off doordash lol). Since im insured in Germany, knew i needed an MRI, and still had about 10 days till my flight back I decided to ride out the rest of my vacation disabled. (makes the airport incredibly pleasant). Some maybe important context is, 8 years ago i tore my acl with a grade 2 tear. I chose not to go for the surgery because i wanted to avoid the trauma, and did PT + PRP shot. Luckily my ACL had completely healed.
As soon as i arrived in Germany i got my MRI and confirmed it was a medial meniscus bucket handle tear. 7 days later i had my partial meniscectomy where the doc removed about 20% of my meniscus. The surgeon told me he does about 300 operations per year and arthroscopy to me seemed WAY less barbaric in comparison to an ACL surgery hence why I had a cooler head going into it. The consistent pain my leg was causing, i couldn't see a way around it. he said there is an option to do either repair or removal but he cannot say until hes inside me (lol) if a repair would make sense, because it heavily depends on if the tear is in an area where blood can flow.
Day 1 - they stuck this fluid bag in my leg that was so incredibly uncomfortable that i had to down myself in ibuprofen. Im a little freaked out by pain meds so this was the only day i took them. this was by far the worst thing about this experience but in the end it was probably better than having my leg blow up from swelling. The nurse yanking the tube out of my leg the next day however, haunts me to this day.
Day 2-3 - between pain from the scars, weakness of muscles, and general trauma of hurting my delicate leg i toyed with putting pressure on my leg with crutches while hobbling around at home. I was instructed that i really should start working my leg back into normalcy ASAP because it is part of the general healing process for a meniscectomy. I was also icing 2-3 times a day to bring down the swelling.
days 3-9 - with an ace bandage on, i started some mild PT at home. heel slides and leg raises mostly, to start building up my atrophied muscles. around day 5 or 6 i abandoned my crutches entirely, which felt empowering. I live on the first (second in US) floor and stairs were a bit of an obstacle as i had to strategically place one leg at a time and keep my balance. small activities would still wear me out so i limited myself to my small exercises, going to the kitchen, playing MTG Arena and on TTS, and rewatching scrubs. still icing 1-2 times a day.
days 10-17 - got my stitches out, had my first shower since the surgery(!!!), started PT and was given a few exercises and a thera-band to do at home, which i did religiously daily. started talking a bit longer adventures walking for a coffee etc. still having a bit of a limp and my calf and ankle would get hella sore after a long stretch of walking. i also always wear my stabilising knee band when i go out. but still a noticeable amount of progress and freedom. icing maybe once a day.
days 18-22 (now) - im feeling a lot more confident in my ability and stamina to walk. stairs are starting to feel almost completely natural and am working it out in PT. I rode my bike and drove my car out of the city to catch the northern lights. im really focusing on bringing up my surrounding muscles to support my knee and i can see the progress in how much i can straighten my leg. The area where the arthrocopes went in (specifically the medial side) still has a noticeable bump, and im told that scar tissue is whats causing the occasional pain in joints when i straighten my leg. but each day the gets less and less. I really do feel like I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. my leg looks basically normal in size and im still wearing my knee band when i go out. I still cant think about jumping or running but with time im positive it will get there.
There is hope, just be patient and don't let negative thoughts get to you. happy to answer anything i can.

i (f17) usually end up driving me and my friends when we go somewhere but recently i've been struggling to afford gas so i've asked my friends to help out with gas. all of them have been refusing because it's my car and my decision to drive them around. now i would understand if they didn't have jobs but all of them do and they have their own cars and they are all more than capable of driving. last week we were all going to go out together so i asked if someone else could drive because i didn't have a lot of gas and i worked this week and my job is a 30 minute drive from my house but they all said that i was the driver of the group and none of them wanted to drive. in a response to this i said that i will not be driving them around anymore unless they help me out with gas. this turned into a huge argument and it ended up with me not going out with them that night and in their words "leaving them with no way to get around". like i said they are all able to drive and they all have their own cars. ever since that day i have refused to drive them around until they help me with gas money and they are all mad at me and saying that i'm in the wrong because it's been this way since i was the first in the group to get my license and my car. i genuinely do not know what to do because these girls have been my best friends for 7 years and i don't want to loose them but now im questioning if they are even my friends. so am i in the wrong for this?

I used to go to the bank all the time (CIBC) to use the ATMs just inside the first set of doors. However when I went to put in my payqeuqe in at 9:00pm on a Monday the doors were completely locked up. 1. I don’t see how this is really fair at all especially if I need to get money and or put in money to pay my bills like phone, car payment, car insurance, cat food etc . 2. say I needed to get money out for something I would now have to go to a gas station and pay a fee of over 4$ JUST TO GET MY MONEY or drive all the way to port hope to use the CIBC there which still is ridiculous. I work two jobs that take up all of my day and yet if I needed to pay my bills I simply wouldn’t be able to because of these “new hours”. I understand the homeless population has been doing numbers on these “warm” rooms where the ATMs reside but do we not have a fully capable police force quite literally on the same road as all our banks in town? Don’t these banks rake in millions of dollars a year, and can’t clean up a small mess these homeless people leave behind? They have already hired a security guard that just sits there 7 days a week like what a waste of money? But who will pay for that guy to stand at the door all day, not the stakeholders that’s for sure……. The everyday people that’s money who’s keeping the bank open will pay for him to sit there all day. Besides it’s not as if our police don’t tell business to practice CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) all these rooms are glass and you can see right into the bank from the road but yet if a tax paying citizen wants to access there money they need to do it on the banks terms. What a joke.

- 1 ½ years of 3rd party testing to verify effectiveness- results have been spectacular
- Rehash of the TO announcement last week showing city savings of $40 million/annum using MERV 9A filters coated with Zenguard- equivalent to MERV 13. MERV 9A uses less energy, changed less frequently, reduction of 3000 tonnes/annum of CO2 emissions so green impact. “The product will sell itself”. Full patent. Working with potential partners- federal, provincial, municipalities and private entities. Building a pipeline of customers just awaiting PMRA approval. HVAC manufacturers very excited and other jurisdictions accept the PMRA approval.
Update on Aptamers
- completed influenza aptamer- used against various strains including H5N1 which has a 50% mortality rate.
- keen interest
- early results tested against virus proteins and worked well.
- immediate need and opportunity. Working with various global governments.

1) What other jurisdictions accept PMRA?
India primary area and established partnerships already exist. UK is changing to accept 1st World approval- should be in place by June so another focus area. Greg also mentioned Australia and that some jurisdictions have no requirements as they lack the ability to test themselves.
2) What margins are expected with the plant in Guelph?
The plant can produce 26 tonnes/annum of Zenguard so expect 150-200 million in revenue with an expected profit margin of around 50%.
3) Length of Contracts?
Usually long-term- 3-5 years. There will also be direct to customer sales. Long-term- the hope is that HVAC manufacturers put the filters into their own channels.
4) When will Zentek be cash flow positive?
Very quickly after PMRA approval.
5) Length of approval for aptamer?
Usually anything health related requires phases 1, 2 and 3. However, not the case for military- because of bio-chemical concerns they get immediate access without approval- interest is there. Greg again emphasized the speed and cost advantages of aptamers versus monoclonal antibodies.
6) Update on Albany
They continue to be excited. Tried to take it public last year, but not a strong period for battery metals. That has changed and now there is tremendous government interest and support. Big strides are expected in the next 6-12 months.
7) One participant provided a chart update claiming we hit a double bottom. Expectation is for ascension from this point- some resistance at around $1.80, but it should be overcome.
8) Update on Icephobic and Turbine testing.
Zentek continues to move the testing forward with Pattern Energy with assistance from Quebec University. The product for application is tricky as it needs to be effective on all areas of the blade. They expect to have the formula finalized and the coating ready for application to blades prior to this coming winter.

Hi everyone.
Has anyone else been impacted by Car Guru's negligence and if so, I urge you to come forward and contact me so that we can get a large group of victims together and start a class action law suit against this company that continues to damage client's vehicles and cheat people out of their hard earned money.
So, like many of you, my car was a casualty of the flooding last month. At the time, my car, a Jaguar XF 2012 @190k km's, was at the Car Guru garage for a AED 7,500 Service, and they did not tell me that my car was impacted and held it for a further 8 days claiming they were waiting for the parts to come in as the floods led to the delays. On the 8th day following the flood, and 2 weeks after having my car, they informed me the work was done but the car would not start due to water damage! They advised that I should contact my insurance and the only way I could get a police report is after pleading with them to send me quotations of the water damage to be fixed! They refused to send me photos of my car. After further groveling and diligent following up with them and my insurance, my insurance Dubai National Insurance, DNI, has rejected my claim after advising a total loss of my vehicle, since the car was in the care of Car Guru at the time of the storm. Car Guru has stated they have no insurance and have no interest in reimbursing me for any damages or refunding me for the bogus service which should NOT have been carried out after my car was damaged by the rain - it was obviously unnecessary! Does anyone have any advice, besides reporting both my insurance and CG to the DED?
I hope to hear from many of you and I hope you can spread the word to other victims of CG's negligence to step forward.
