Hi
Quick background: I spent all my savings on getting a dysphoria diagnosis from Dr popelyuk's clinic, and then an onward referral to the gender hormone clinic. I've had a video appointment and a plan, but I've been getting screwed over by GP surgeries changing their mind about shared care.
I've now been told that in my area, there is no funding from the CCG for fertility preservation unless I'm being seen by a NHS GIC, and while I'm in the queue I can't handle the waiting list.
I can afford my ongoing fees for the gender hormone clinic and to put food on the table, but I'm not wealthy and the extra hoops/costs keep surprising and adding up.
I'm in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire region.
I asked my GP about how/where the private options are, but the link he sent was completely unhelpful.
Can anyone advise as to how to seek private fertility preservation in the area, and what the costs are?
And does anyone know of CCGs that do easily provide funding for fertility preservation even if seeking HRT privately? I could possibly "move" to sort this out depending on what the private costs are.

Please could I have some shared thoughts?
I (26F) am scheduled to have a termination at 13 weeks and one day pregnant next Tuesday. I am in south England.
A bit of a backstory. A very short term relationship with a narcissist who has now been arrested for harassment, stalking and coercive control towards me. I feel safe that contact with him and me/ the foetus will be very difficult for him because of his heavy drug use and previous convictions/ongoing investigation. My family are being wonderfully supportive if I continue with the abortion. If they think otherwise then the support will stop.
I have a five-year-old daughter with my ex-husband who is the most wonderful coparent and we have a really good working relationship.
I had a miscarriage exactly a year before I found out I was pregnant this time round. I tried to get an abortion at five weeks after finding out that the ex had cheated on me. I didn’t go through with this as we were able to be civil and I thought things would be okay. at nine weeks after telling my family I revisited the idea of abortion however due to complications with the clinic they have been unable to book me an appointment until I’m 13 weeks. My personal cut off has always been 12 weeks so it just feels like fate and the universe telling me I should go through with the pregnancy?
I honestly don’t think I’m going to be able to go through the termination. There is no part of me that feels strong enough to be able to abort the pregnancy, and in my heart of hearts I really do know that I want to continue the pregnancy and I feel protected by the police and other services that he will not be able to hurt me or my children. The other part of me doesn’t want to let my family down anymore, and I know that I might lose them if I continue the pregnancy.
My mind is all over the place and I’m so confused and I cry a lot. I’m trying to decide the world that I want for myself, but I feel like everyone else is just complicating things.

Becoming increasingly fanatical, the woman finds a book in the attic that belonged to her gypsy grandmother. In this book there is a charm to make a pact with an angel and get a wish granted. To do this, she has to mix bizarre ingredients and drink this potion at a crossroads. And to gets rid of all the "abortionist women" she makes this potion and goes to the crossroads. At this crossroads she makes the pact with the angel and wakes up the next day at home. The next day she is watching TV talking about an abortion clinic, and sees that all the women are dying around that. She starts to celebrate, but sees that women are dying all over the world, and wonders what she did wrong. Then the angel appears and reveals that his official name is Luficer. He also explains that because a woman's own uterus tends to naturally expel a fertilized egg, most women can be considered "abortionists." Including the daughter she adopted.

I’m 21, and I have a weird lump in my breast.
About six months ago, I had this persistent itch in my left breast. Didn’t think much of it, I’ve been having health problems for two years now. Three months ago, a weird, circular rash appeared on my areola. I was like what the heck is this, and started feeling my breast. A lump. There is a hard lump. Called my mom, booked a doctor’s appointment. The appointment was weird as hell, it was a dark room, no lights on, shades on windows, the doctor looked at my breast, she barely touched it, and said that it’s probably nothing. I was out of the doctor’s office in TWO MINUTES. I was flabbergasted. Called my mom again, booked another appointment.
The next doctor felt the lump, said that ”you’re so young so there’s nothing to worry about but I can refer you to an ultrasound if you want to”, of course I wanted to. Then came the ultrasound. The doctor felt the lump, but there was nothing on the ultrasound. She said that ”usually we should do a biopsy but because you’re so young, we’re not going to because I don’t think there’s a need for that”. I felt dismissed, but thought that maybe she’s right, let’s wait and see if it grows.
A few months later, it’s grown. It’s painful, and poking me, feels like there’s a ping pong ball in my armpit. Booked an appointment to a breast surgeon. He felt the lump, said that it’s very big, and said that I need a biopsy, even though it’s probably nothing serious. Now I’m nervously waiting for the biopsy, I don’t know when it’s going to happen yet. I mean this could very well be cancer right? Even if I’m very young… I don’t get why the earlier doctors didn’t want to get a biopsy.

Hi I am Telus home fibre optic internet customer for the last several years, recently I moved to a new address and contacted Telus to move my home internet service then I got booked an appointment to install my service at the new address and the installation wasn't done because of some fibre optic cable issues outside the house and got told that another team needs to come and I got another team to check the cabling and I was told that they couldn't fix it and another team needs to come to fix it and I am still waiting. I also got charged for the month even tho I wasn't able to use the internet at all.
My first question is has anyone had similar situation and did they got there internet?
Also With the current situation does anyone know if I can cancel the contract without being charged any fees at all?

2024.05.15 11:27 -naked-all-the-time- Overthinking everything - anxiety or OCD?

I woke up two days ago with two itchy bites on my ankle, and it's all been a whirlwind from there. I've pretty much convinced myself that I have bedbugs living in my bed, based on the following:

The two bites I've described, plus some other skin irregularities/itchy patches (the latter may be imagined) I've noticed on my body.
A blood patch I found on my bedsheets.
Something I found on the floor, which I took to be a molted bed bug shell.

Now, from a rational perspective I know I'm overreacting completely. And here's why:

After discovering the bites, I found a mosquito in my room. Though the bites don't look like other mosquito bites I get and were somewhere that I assumed was covered by bedding while I slept. But it's still probably the mosquito, and if not, I did sit the night before in my friend's car, who recently got a dog. It's possible they could be flea bites.
The blood patch looked fairly old, and by Googling it seems bed bug blood patches would be smaller and darker. It's also possible either my girlfriend or I had a spot/pimple that bled in our sleep - we both have some on our back.
That "shell" I found was the same colour as a bed bug, but apparently their molted shells are translucent, and this one lacked any "bug parts" (antennae, legs) and had a different texture than I would expect. Could just as easily have been a seed from a bread loaf.

Nevertheless here I am tearing up my mind about bedbugs, scrutinising my mattress constantly, and washing my clothes and sheets at 60° even though I usually do 40° because it's gentler. The bedbugs subreddit does not help because everyone over there seems as anxious as me, and every "is this a bed bug/shell/egg" post gets a few yes responses despite a real diversity in the pictures posted. The thing with bed bugs is they're practically unfalsifiable: they're good at hiding, so you don't see them, their bites vary from person to person, and they can go for long periods without feeding.
Like I said, I likely don't have bedbugs. The fear stems from a budget hotel my friend booked us in to two weeks ago, which wasn't the cleanest. But I did check the mattresses there, and they seemed to pass the test. My friend actually moved on to a second hotel after I went home that did have bed bugs, and he said it was immediately noticeable. I visited India last year, and when my friend jokingly talked about bringing bedbugs home on the return flight (we didn't encounter any) the thought played on my mind for a couple weeks, but this time is more intense.
The only reprieve I get from worrying about them is when I'm distracted, like at work. I did a pretty intense yoga session yesterday and didn't think about it once, but as soon as we brought the session to a close with a meditation, they were back all over my mind.
I also know that, worse case scenario, if I did have them, I'd have to call an exterminator and be out €2000, which would be utterly shit but wouldn't kill me. It's not like the bugs can kill me or even hurt me either. I thought about calling an inspector, but I don't want to spend all that money (and probably anger my landlord) just for reassurance.
I've always been an overthinker and have struggled with anxiety throughout my life. In the past year or two, though, I've noticed some more intrusive thoughts:

My ex and I had a place last year and she had a cat. One day when I was leaving for work I didn't pull the door all the way closed. My ex noticed and chewed me out (another story) because it was an indoor cat. But for months afterwards this led me to coming back to the house after leaving for work (sometimes already after walking 10 minutes), coming home early, or staying home completely. At this time I also had a depressive period and my work suffered for a few months as a result.
After my breakup when I moved into my new place, I put a hanging plant attachment into the roof and couldn't shake the feeling I'd hit a gas line, even after my Dad (a tradesman) told me they were unlikely to be in that part of the ceiling. I left on a work trip abroad the same day and for the first day away all I thought about was returning to a blown-up apartment. I had a similar feeling when my fridge gas pipe ruptured - I thought I was gonna die in my sleep and ventilated my flat for days.
I'm terrified of fire, always have been, but lately I've been unplugging things every time I leave my office because I'm afraid I'll burn the whole place down. I recently quit smoking with the help of an e-cigarette, but for the first week or two I had it I was often terrified it would explode in my pocket.
I had an unexplainable pain in my nether regions for a few months that took A LONG TIME to diagnose (turned out to be a muscle problem). But I was constantly anxious about testicular torsion and I wondered why doctors/urologists didn't care. At one point I remember telling myself "I think you want testicular torsion just so you know you're right."
When I leave my house I check my balcony door is locked and that the stove is turned off, usually only once, maybe twice. Regarding unplugging things in work, I've once sent my colleague to check something in my office after I left, under false pretenses, in the hope that if something bad had happened (a fire) they would notice and catch it in time.
I have - very, very rarely, probably less than 5 times in my life - been consumed momentarily by thoughts of self-harm. Mostly it's fleeting like the intrusive thought I guess everyone gets occasionally, just pushing your brain to consider the worst. However, twice - once after trying SSRIs for my depressive episode and again at random more recently - I had thoughts of slitting my wrists that scared the fuck out of me and sat with me for a good few hours.

I've been in therapy before for anxiety but stopped for a while because my therapist's son got really sick and stopped all sessions. When I look at all this, written out, I'm honestly starting to convince myself that the more likely thing going on here is that I have undiagnosed mild OCD.
However, these thoughts don't normally take over my whole day - I can usually get away from them if I'm distracted, and most of the time they don't bother me unrelentingly, just mildly. Also, besides the unplugging of electronics and checking of locks - which I do not do universally - I don't really think I have any compulsions. These are things I would expect if I had diagnosable OCD, though I don't know much about the condition or the spectrum it exists within.
What are your thoughts? Does it sound like anxiety or OCD experience? I'm planning to go back to therapy next month if I can (it's hard to get appointments where I live, especially in my native language), but do you have any tips for dealing with such thoughts by myself too?

So next Tuesday I have yet ANOTHER assessment because after ten years transitioning the doctors are still finding ways to toy with me. The Last assessment I went for a couple weeks back wasn't even for surgery and instead I had to discuss the past ten years all over again, how I started HRT, why I gave up my fertility, how I feel now compared to back then, but then I was asked if I had applied or asked for help in getting a Gender recognition certificate. I told the doctor I had been asking for years but gotten nowhere, no documents were being released and the doctors kept switching and said they'd get to it, turns out it wasn't even added to my file, among other things. The doctor then tells me that if I had a grc it would speed up the process and drop my assessments down to one but would take several months before it gets released. I'm like ok why eien5 any other doctor tell me this, so annoyed by it, but theu then threw in that I'd have to go to a court to have it witnessed and even then I've still got to be booked for more appointments. I'm almost 34 and still trapped, I hate it. Sorry for the rant just needed this off my chest lol, has anyone else been messed over by the gender clinics?

Currently in the process of importing my car from UK and I've made a VRT appointment and in the booking confirmation email it says that they can't conduct an NCT during this appointment. Does this mean I need to book a separate NCT appointment? Or can I do that after the VRT inspection? The car has a valid MOT in the UK from a few months ago and would pass the NCT with flying colours as far as I know. The whole process has been a right pain in the arse with all of the paperwork and hoops you have to jump through so just wanted to hear if anyone had experience with this.

I'm 19M. I live with a roommate 21M who is obsessed with e-sports and streaming. We live somewhere in Asia. I know most people here are not from there but I still want your opinion.
My roommate used to stream a lot on Twitch but it's not available anymore here, so he lost a lot of income and following. He's been trying to make it up on a different platform but it’s not the same for him.
A few week ago I ended up owing my roommate some money. It happened when I broke my arm and needed to borrow money. I have to wear arm sling and a splint on my forearm so I couldn’t do my part time job. My roommate asked me to join him online to help bring his channel some engagement. I owed him so I did it. I am not good at games but I’m good at talking, and can speak in English (although most of the viewers are from our own country). I went on with him and during these days the viewership increased.
One of the days someone gave a lot or money. Apparently it was a gesture for me. This person started to show up on every stream and always gave a lot of money, only if I was there. My friend doesn't always game on the stream, sometimes it's just talk and do stupid things. I quickly cleared my debt.
Things started to feel strange to me because of this viewer. He was giving a lot of money and singling me out as the reason. His profile photo became a screenshot he took of my face.
There are many times when I don't join my friend, but it seems this viewer is always present in every stream. He never misses a single one. People also ask questions about me when I’m not there and my roommate answers them. I found out when I came on, because people asked me how my doctor’s appointment went. They knew where I was and even tried to guess the clinic. I started to feel uncomfortable about this. These people knew a lot about me that I hadn't shared about myself. Someone even admit they saw me somewhere and wanted to approach me but were too shy. Because of my arm sling I think these people spot me more easily.
The viewer who gives a lot of money replied to the user who saw me.. something like: why were you afraid? It was the perfect opportunity. He only has one good arm right now. You could even kidnap him if you wanted to. He got admonished on the stream but it’s just a tame example of the weird comments. Most of them are too inappropriate.
Because he gives a lot of money, my roommate always defend him to keep him happy and my roommate joked back that for the amount of money he has gave, he can have me for the night.
I get it. It’s a joke. But I told my roommate I don’t want to be on the stream anymore. I don’t want my roommate to talk about me and give these people details about me and my life.
He’s upset because he thinks he will lose money without me. He says I’m being too sensitive. AITAH for this? Should I keep accepting this weird money. My friend is offering to share with me.
Personally, it’s the large amounts of money mixed with the sinister comments. Seems pathetic maybe, and I can’t explain it well.. The viewer has slowly started to make more and more graphic and violent comments toward me. Something is not right about that person. I don’t want a stalker. If we keep accepting his money I think it’s encouraging the behavior to become acceptable.

today I saw in Yokohama Station and banner with the following text: 横浜トライン(yeah Yokohama train, why not 電車) i never heard anyoneone in japan (japanese) saying “Torain” instead of densha
スプリングのお弁当 instead of 春
few days ago I received from my clinic an SMS saying “リコンフィメションノチフィカション” for my appointment and I was like wtf is this
ブラックペッパー instead of 黒コショウ

My point is at this point you need to unsderstand english to understand what “rikonfeshon nochifikason” means, I do but what about some eldery person who does not now any english at all, how can that person understand what “rikonfeshon nochifikason” means?
