Summary: Speeding slows you down, getting stuck behind a slow car doesn't slow you down much at all. I was curious about how speed affects efficiency, and realized that because high speeds reduce range, and increase need to charge, that higher speeds might actually lead to a slower overall trip for the Bolt. The results were really surprising. Calculations with a spreadsheet show the optimal speed is 70mph, but slower speeds like 60mph are only very slightly slower overall. In fact, there's less than a 1% difference between any speeds between 60 and 75mph. Here are the assumptions:

Conclusion: Safe driving is fast driving. Fast driving is slow driving.

- 40KW/hour charging rate.
- 80% of battery used (so, 10% - 90%)
- 15 minutes overhead for charging (getting off highway, finding charger, waiting for open slot, etc)
- kW usage for each speed was determined by:
- driving on a flattish highway, in one direction
- using cruise control
- waiting until kW usage stabilized
- taking several photos of dashboard, and recording numbers later.
- averaging the kW shown in the photos for a specific speed.
- A more accurate estimate could be achieved by driving on a windless day, averaging over a longer period of time, and being on an absolutely flat road.

We purchased a new Tesla Model Y off the Franklin, TN lot on the evening of May 10th at approximately 6:30pm. We were not offered the advertised promotional rate of 0.99%.
To be clear, we did not “place an order” on the app or website prior to May 10th. Instead, we acquired straight from the lot’s available inventory, applied for Tesla financing (with excellent credit), and accepted delivery all on the evening of May 10th.
Naturally, we contacted the branch as soon as we saw the promotional date range flooding our inbox, but were told there was nothing that could be done because we accepted the loan and delivery before the promotion was available - except we didn’t. Rather, we accepted on the same date the promotion became available. We’re talking about the potential to save roughly $10k in over the life of the loan with an interstate rate savings of 5.49%. The material difference is significant…
This is our first experience with Tesla and Tesla Finance. We love our purchase but are incredibly disappointed by the resounding “you accepted the higher rate, there’s nothing we can do” message.
Let me be clear, the branch staff have been incredibly understanding of our situation, empathetic, kind, and generous in other ways.
Regardless, I feel like there is an element of false advertising and we will likely seek council advice. In the meantime, we are curious if our situation is truly unique or are others having similar discussions?

I don’t even know where to begin! For starters, myself and Jessica both had to work today and were unable to watch any of the lives that were held. (Thank you to those that have tried to keep me updated so I know what needs to be addressed) Unlike DD, I have priorities that require my attention and because of that, I don’t have the ability to go live for hours on end! I’m going to try my best to hit some bullet points with this post and I’ll be open to answering questions if further clarification is needed. I want to start by saying I DID NOT say that DD has taken thousands of dollars from people! What I said was she was probably not the best person to expose Kerrie when she’s taken money from people herself! Mandy being number 1 and she’s already admitted she’s taken from a couple others! Some of those debts were paid back (not by her) prior to exposing Kerrie so she would feel safe in doing so! Now let’s talk about this $700 that she claims to have said no to me over! First of all, I would have never even mentioned this situation, so she has herself to thank for this! Since this is a situation that involves dry begging, we can refer to this as example #1 of why her and Kerrie are much alike! 😉 DD repeatedly told myself and Jessica that she didn’t know what she was going to do because she “didn’t realize” that her tabs, inspection etc on her car had expired and she would need around $700 to get it legal again. I am not a rich woman! Who would be with a family as large as mine? But my dad had just passed away and I was left a “rainy day fund”. After seeing her stress over her car and knowing she was waiting on child support to go thru, I DID offer to lend her the money! Initially DD said no and we discussed other options for her to handle it. A day or 2 later, she privately called me without Jessica (most of the time it was all 3 of us) and mentioned that she may need to take me up on the offer and I told her the offer still stands and to let me know because I do not use the apps for money and I’d have to have one of my adult children send it for me when they returned home from work. Later that day, “God was good” and her child support cleared! Problem solved! (I will mention here that days later Jessica and I were confused when she said her mom and sister helped) but either way, she figured it out and didn’t require my help! Point in even explaining all of this is she likes to paint herself in a light where she is holier than thou and would never take from anyone!! 🙄
Next.. the wardrobe! On no planet did I ever offer to buy her a wardrobe! Like most mornings, myself, DD and Jess were on the phone! We were discussing the trip that they would be going on together in April. Jessica was talking about outfits she had gotten herself for the trip and texting us pics while we were talking. I felt bad for DD who I knew couldn’t afford to do the same, so I text her and said “pick a few outfits off Shein, send me screenshots and sizes and I’ll order them for you” I also put “shhhh” because no one needed to know that she didn’t get them for herself! Her response was not NO! It was “ok once I get home! Thank you Christine!” She immediately mentioned it on the phone call and I told her she didn’t have to. Her response was that she didn’t care if Jessica knew. At that point, all 3 of us were on SHEIN and sending pics in text of options for DD. (See how her story holds only partial truths?) I can also provide screenshots of this if necessary! Now in the end, nothing was ever ordered because she never officially told me exactly what she wanted and our friendship ended before I was able to fulfill the offer. Her part of that trip was also canceled due to Jess walking away when I did! Mikey and the homeless mission… the plan was Mikey was taking a train to somewhere in NY and DD was driving an hour to go pick him up from there! Morning of, DD texts Jessica and I and asks for $50 from each of us! We both said NO! I made mention of how expensive it would be, asked why she was no longer getting him, and couldn’t understand why Mikey needed money when he had previously been offering to help others get there! (All in texts 😉) The story seemed sketchy and I privately told Jess I would reach out to Mikey to verify. Mikey DID verify that there was an issue with the bus or train (I’m not familiar with transportation in the NY area) and he did verify that DD sent him $200. Jessica and I had both spent ALOT of money on the mission itself already and were not willing or able to contribute more, especially for something that wasn’t 100% necessary for it to be a success… though Mikey turned out to be an asset that day! I will add that I had no idea she received “blessings” from 2 people that were present and if my math is correct, she would have ended up with $250 from it. $100 from each of the 2 people and another $50 from someone who wasn’t there! 🤷♀️ (just going off what she said in her rambling) The PIZZA!! 🤣🤣 did I ask Luci (who’s name I promised I wouldn’t mention but DD did) if she gave her money for the pizza? Yes I did! Not so I could be like her and mention it publicly (in fact I told Luci I wasn’t going to) I only asked because that was sent by someone for me and DD went out of her way to talk shit on Luci and her wife to Jess and I and how they didn’t even offer to help pay for it! We were taken back by that because why should she care when she didn’t spend a dime on it? Weird right? It made Jess and I wonder all this time if they did in fact pitch in and DD kept the money.. I was happy to learn that they did offer but DD declined! Please take note that the biggest issue here was DD repeatedly complaining about Luci and her wife when they were there busting their ass to help with the homeless stuff!

Now to the Mandy business… I’m not here to speak for Mandy or be her mouthpiece! Mandy is NOT the reason that DD and I are no longer friends! DD was well aware of the fact that Mandy and I talk. In fact, she was the one that would run to me to go fix things with Mandy for her! I became quite the mediatocounselor between the 2 of them and was CONSTANTLY telling DD that she needed to make up her mind and quit stringing her along if she didn’t want a relationship of any kind! Twice I asked DD if she’s ever outright told Mandy that she only wanted to be her friend and nothing more.. her loud response was “she should know that” to which I replied “it’s a yes or no question. Maybe that’s what I need to talk to Mandy about” and she shut the idea down very quickly by saying it would send Mandy in to an anxiety attack and “she knows her better than anyone” here’s one of those moments that make you go hmmmm 🤔
My thumbs hurt at this point and my kid has a band concert in 45 mins so I’ll stop here for now! Please feel free to ask questions or bring my attention to anything else that she’s said about me that needs to be addressed!

If 301 had made it down the mountain there was the potential for a larger casualty event due to the occupied bunkhouse and town of field located at the bottom of the mountain next to the main line. Ahead of train 301 was a loaded anhydrous ammonis train stopped on the main line, If these two collided there would have been toxic environmental impacts. The employees in the bunkhouse evacuated uphill preparing for collision. The train master on duty was pressured by operations to not aply handbrakes due to further train delays. CP was solely focused on preventing delays to the Intermodel train stopped behind train 301 that the crew of three was originally called for. If trains were not subject to delays they would have followed a safer and more thorough route. Employees have mentioned the union/CP relationship as "work now grieve later" which has led to employees being moulded to follow directions as given with little room for negotiation. Hi, I have a Nissan Versa 2023 manual transmission. It has all the services done at the dealership every 10,000 km and the odometer is around 60,000 km. It has been losing power since the last service done were they cleaned the gasoline injectors. None of the warning lights in on, not even when is losing power. Apparently it happens when the car has been in use for a little while (maybe an hour or little more). What do you think is happening? Can I repair it myself?

zombie game on android or mobile, I believe it wasn’t very popular. The intro was in 3D for whatever reason where the player shot up zombies, with the gun customization options in 3D. The environment looked very dull. The intro involved the shooting a bunch of zombies through a fence. Then you were in the main menu I think, and the background for where the intro happened remained the same. The gameplay itself was 2D where you can move and shoot (maybe last time I played was many years ago) in the game you could buy new guns, upgrade and purchase coins with real money I believe. The weapon shop looked kinda huge. Guns were sorted in rows and columns. The graphics were not very realistic The 2d gameplay from my archaic memory may have been pixel art In the 2d gameplay you could pick up weapons and had to kill the zombies or use your weapon you already had. It wasn’t very popular Game got taken down completely no trace of it. I'm not sure I understand if they mean the content is not encrypted (aka PGP) or if they mean they don't send alias email over port 465 or 587? I think they mean aliases won't use PGP to encrypt the email? I also found this resource that indicates Startmail does send and receive over ports 993, 465, and 587 which are associated with encrypted communication protocols: https://support.startmail.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006596718-Server-addresses .

After about 7 years on the road, I think I have finally gotten to a point where I am hanging up the car keys and suit case.
When I started years ago, my take home pay was almost what I was making staff, and the opportunities to go different places were there as well. It was a hell of a ride, especially during Covid.
Seven years later, my how things have changed.
And it’s not even the pay packages that are the problem right now, it’s the cost of living. Duplicating expenses becomes very expensive with pre-Covid wages, and at the end of the day, I’ve determined the value just isn’t there anymore, and my bottom line ends up being close to what it would be as a staff RT in my area.
The worst part is that job opportunities are tougher to come by now, it’s hard to even get offers now, and when it comes to negotiating anything with the agencies like pay, or getting them to pay for anything like licenses, certifications, or relocation expenses, you may be able to get it done depending on the agency, but now it’s like pulling teeth. And with facilities, it can be a challenge for them to even approve time off.
It’s like this now unfortunately because the agencies and the hospitals simply can, because the market is flooded.
I’m at a point now where I am going to work two PRN jobs. I’ll be able to at least be home more, make a higher PRN rate, and then at least I’ll have the flexibility to make my own schedule. Ironically the pay rate is close to what I’d be making agency right now.
For those staying with the travel journey; enjoy it, it can be a fun ride if you find a good position that’s worth it.

I think its supposed to mean the perception on ones mind, as that parasite shown takes over the gorillas brain whilst giving you hypnotizing stimulus, thus making you protective of it. The dream is as follows. very weird dream, no coherence at all. so we were making a trip from florida to an undisclosed location, but on the way there we wet to this weird hotel, not much about it, after that we kind of "borowed" this car and its belongings to continue the trip, upon arriving at the place i found out i still had to somehow go to school? (as i said no coherence, made sense on the dream), i had this class that was like in a flight of stairs 34 levels up like a fire exit style stairway, very claustrophobic, it was a class about some sort of socializing, there was a bll pit, a pool and some arcades in the classroom, as well as a lobby. there were a few of my friends there (most of whom i dont speak with anymore) [dream is starting to fade away already], i remember i went ti the cafeteria on the school and the line is very weird with some strange chicken wings, like it looked so weird, we had some weird pop tarts but smt that was weird at the end was this tray full of tea, the cans were all different shapes and sizes, none were the same shape or size, they were flat, or very tall, very very weird shapes. but something strange was a student tried to black mail me, showing me pictures of the hotel i went to and the car we "borrowed" telling me that the teacher was gonna take me out of the class, for a secon before i woke up i had a lecture of a subject, it was like a meme, it showed us this, (ill make a recreation later) 1 dimention (person using regular glasses) 3 dimensions (like a oculus but flat) 4 dimensions (like a comically large vr headset) 5 dimensions (SHOWS A PICTURE OF A GORILLA HAVING A PARASITE, supposedly its a parasite that takes over your brain whilst giving you hypnotizing stimulus, making you protective of it) oh yeah and on the stairs there was a creature that peeked at me and when i turned to see it it disappeared, i didnt care at all doe. the stairs were dark with fire alarms every so steps, grey corroding concrete, backrooms shizz. on the class, most kids gossiped about me on the lobby, the pool, arcade and ball pit were always empty. also i remember i saw a list of the prices of the teas on the line, somehow each had a name and a letter, on the list it showed the prices, some were $200, i thought it was free so i picked up the largest one, when o saw the price i got sad and left it felt like the dream was like a whole day. |

I have been living in a 2-bed apartment for a year and it was bliss to have an apartment all to myself. I have been dreading my landlord to get another tenant to live in the apartment. I have been able to afford the rent and at the same time just relishing having my own space. I have always been a loner who liked to spend time doing things on my own. I do have the odd friends and I do go to gatherings like weddings and funerals, but it's when the events are over that I feel the bliss and joy of being lonely.
Then my landlord told me that he had found someone to have the second bedroom and I was disappointed but I guess it was going to happen at some point. Then after many days of waiting my landlord came into the apartment and in his hand was a baby boy. It wasn’t his baby and I asked where the parents were as I assumed the second bedroom would be taken by a family. It is actually big enough to fit a married couple and a small baby.
The landlord said that there were no parents and that he was just going to put the baby in the second bedroom. I was not allowed to go in the room and I was just supposed to leave that room. The landlord placed the baby in the second bedroom and closed the door, and he then went on his way home. I was in a flat with a crying baby. It was unusual and the baby was crying and then the baby would be soothed by something and would start laughing.
I was really freaked out by this and on many nights the baby would be making baby noises all by himself. Then one night I heard a deep musky voice in the baby room but I listened to the landlord and kept to my own business. Then something was calling my name from the baby room and its deep voice woke me.
“Rob wake up, I want to give you 3 wishes,” the voice from the baby told me
I tried to go into the room but it was locked now and the voice in the room kept saying that it wanted to give me 3 wishes. Then the voice said “I can grant 3 wishes but I am not sure where those wishes would go. You will also have to pick 2 other people as well who you don’t mind the wishes to go to”
I had wondered why this thing wanted to answer my wishes and it simply told me that answering wishes was its main function in life. The thing in that room was being generous at first and gave away the first 3 wishes for free but they had to be small. This was to prove to me that it wasn’t lying to me.
So I included my mom to be part of this and my manager who I did not like. My first wish was for death, a teapot and a thousand pounds in cash. Death randomly went to my mother, I got a new teapot and my ass hole of a manager had won a thousand pounds which he bragged about at work.
My mother had died and the voice told me that he couldn’t control where the wishes went. The voice then told me “To increase the chances of good wishes going to you, you should do something called good karma collecting. Where you will voluntarily let people do bad things to you so that good karma shall come round to me. So be a pushover and too overly nice that people take advantage so that the good wishes have a higher chance of coming to you”.
So I did just that and I let people at work take advantage of me and I walked around in rough places where I was showing my expensive items so that someone could rob me. For a whole year, I let people just be horrible to me and I even went out with a woman who was a known serial cheater. I would still sometimes hear that baby either crying, laughing or just making baby noises.
Then the voice said “Are you ready to make 3 proper wishes that will choose themselves who they go to”
“yes,” I said confidently
“Have you chosen two more people to be a part of these wishes,” the voice asked me
“yes and I choose my horrid manager and my father” I replied
“the 3 wishes have to be different and one has to be good, one has to be bad and one has to be mediocre” the voice told me
After a moment of silence, I said “First wish for a billion pounds, the second wish for cancer and the third wish for a mini car!”
I then got a text from my dad telling me that a mini car appeared in his garage out of nowhere and on the news it was showing my manager winning a billion pounds on the lottery. I then started coughing blood and started feeling sick and I looked confused.
The voice then told me “Your landlord took his chances with the 3 wishes and he chose you as one of the people. One of his wishes was for bad fortune and that fell on you, which is why collecting good karma wouldn’t have worked for you”
I then fell to the ground and my landlord came in and he went into that room and picked up the baby. He then looked down at me with a smile and said “Now I can sell my flat without the worry of a tenant living here. Landlord and tenancy rules have made it harder for landlords to sell flats with tenants living inside them”

Hey guys! So the only automotive stuff we do is duplicating what we can with an ilco rw4 plus machine and we have a hand machine for Honda 4 track keys (Ducati blanks work great in it too) but that's it. At least, as far as modern cars go. We do have a ton of old stuff, like if you need a copy of a British or Italian car key from the 60's, chances are we have it. All that said, we're looking at maybe getting into the modern times a bit. I understand there are tablets the hook up to the obdII and use tokens and stuff but do you guys have any recommendations on where to start with that? And I really mean like, what's the best, budget friendly (I'm sure none of it is) place to start, and also, what do you really need key machine wise? Any suggestions or even just what you use and like would be super appreciated. Thanks guys, and Jeff, you better comment! Hahaha

 | ¡Hola a todos! submitted by i_m_online to dreamingspanish [link] [comments] I just hit level 2, so I guess I’m sticking with this and I figured I should start posting to hold myself accountable. My History With Spanish Until a few weeks ago I had zero Spanish. I took a few years of French in high school (20 years ago) and have done Duolingo French pretty consistently since the start of the pandemic, along with occasional spurts of commitment where I would watch Easy French or Innerfrench videos and the like. My wife and I had a trip to Peru a couple years ago where I made the bold decision to rent a car in Lima, which was frankly hilarious. After that we were like “we NEED to learn Spanish” and then we just didn’t. Now having moved to Southern California, and with Mexico so close, I decided it was a good time to finally get learning. Following a YouTube binge that I imagine mirrored many others on here, I discovered CI and DS. It immediately made sense, and many of the criticisms of traditional learning methods rang true to me based on my history with French. My Progress I’ve been burning pretty quickly through superbeginner videos. I’ve started watching them at 1.5x because they do get really slow and boring. I’ve been mixing in some beginner videos since the beginning and they’re all perfectly comprehensible now. I’ll watch an easier intermediate video occasionally to gauge my progress. I find Agustina’s to be the easiest to understand. She does a great job of taking interesting topics and making them understandable. I do think my roughly B1 level of French has helped a little bit. Outside of DS, I listen to ¡Cuéntame! while I’m walking the dog. I’ve only found one episode so far that had too many unknown words to be usefully comprehensible. I tried a couple Español con Juan preintermedio videos, but they were a little tough. My Plans As you can see, I’ve been putting in a fair few hours a day. I tend to get really into things for a couple months and then burn out. My hope is that I can get to a point where I can understand more interesting podcasts and dubbed media by the time I lose interest in actively watching content for learners, and keep my daily hours up that way. Once I can understand the Red Sox Spanish language radio guy (he’s Dominican but I don’t know if he has a strong accent), that will really help me get my hours in. Thanks to everyone else for sharing their experiences on here. It’s great to see people speak and reassure newcomers like myself that it will work. |
