2024.05.16 19:06 UnfairConsequences RG353V always booting into Android vs ArkOS
I tried flashing ArkOS onto a 128gb Sandisk Ultra microSDXC card, but every time I turn on the system, it boots into Android instead of ArkOS. The only way I can get it to book into ArkOS is to first boot into Android, hold the power button until Android asks if I want to shutdown or restart, and then restart from there. And yes, I've formatted the card and tried at least three times.
If I use the included 16gb, I don't have the same problem; ArkOS boots the first time, every time. I'm not sure if there's a disadvantage to using the cheap card that game with the system for the OS and use the Samsung strictly for roms. Does it slow down loading to use a dual-card setup?
Also, why does ArkOS leave a 10gb empty partition on every card that I use?

Hi, my name is Luis.
I’ve built landing pages for SaaS companies that convert 20%+ of cold ad traffic into paying customers. In my agency we charge up to $10k for a single landing page (based on initial fee + performance fee).
Here’s some advice on how to increase your landing page conversion rate.
At the end of the day, paid ads are the best acquisition channel for a startup (it is scalable, predictable and automated), but it has become fu***ng expensive.
You can’t make ads cheaper, but you can turn a 2% CR landing page into a 20% CR landing page to make your ads profitable (and you already know what profitable ads mean: More customers, more revenue, more profit, more investors, more cash, etc.).
Based on what I've seen, high-converting lading pages follow three rules. But, first of all, if I've been able to build 10%, 25% and even 40% conversion rate landing pages is because I understand what drives conversion. Let me explain.
Do you know why they say that the money is in the follow-up? Because the difference between someone who doesn’t know about your product and a buyer is FREQUENCY.
Frequency drives conversion.
Why are retargeting ads so powerful? Because what they really are is a frequency campaign. Constant exposure to THE SAME ONE THING again and again and again.
Sales pages with a conversion rate of 10%+ convey ONE (and only ONE) big idea. And they do it repeatedly—again and again and again and again and again and again.
My headlines refer to my idea, the body text talks about my big idea, my visuals depict my idea, my Q&A centers around my idea, the testimonials I include are the ones that mention my big idea, etc.
A big idea / big message is easy to remember and gets stuck more easily in our brain through repetition.
Which one is easier to remember?
"Focusing without distraction on a cognitively demanding task for an extended period…"
Or...
"deep work.”
When it comes to your offer, there are numerous variables to consider: Free trial or no free trial? 7-day or 30-day trial? Pricing? Plans? Features? Cc required or not required? Etc.
I would really love to advise you on exactly what to offer, but I don’t know your product, your industry, your competitors, etc. I can only say that each option has its pros and cons.
For example, free trials without a credit card requirement tend to convert better, but they also attract less committed users (most of those people won’t even try your product).
I’m not stating that one is definitively better than the other. What I’m trying to convey is that you need to test different variables. What works for another company might not work for you, and vice versa.
Remember: Options kill conversion.
So forget about pricing plans. Create ONE compelling offer designed for customer acquisition.
The rest of the copy doesn’t really matter. Convey your big idea through your headlines. Literally.
I should be able to understand your product solely by reading your headlines. The rest of the copy should sell your big idea again and again and again. People are lazy and will scan your page (via headlines) for 10 seconds, before deciding if they understand what your product is about. If they like it, they will keep reading.
So, don’t use typical, vague marketing headlines.
Headlines you don’t want:
“Powered by AI”
Headlines you want (specific):
“Save 300 hours per month thanks to our customizable AI.”

- Build a second landing page: A dedicated landing page where you’ll be driving ad traffic to and which is designed for conversion.
- This page should target one specific group of people.
- Put together ONE single offer: One price point, one set of features and an incentive to sign up TODAY.
- Want to target another group of people with another messaging/price point/set of features? Go ahead. But, don’t offer 3 plans that will generate friction and create confusion when your CTA is a free trial, bc people will choose the most basic plan in 99% of the cases.

2 SNS-001 Consoles For Parts/Not Working 2 For Parts/Not Working consoles that have been broken down, including one housing (has some chips/cracks), 2 motherboards, all components, however some are guaranteed to not work. The boards themselves may have additional issues beyond the removed chips, I have no way to test or check them. Neither of these motherboards work. Both of them were giving different graphical issues on the screen, so I thought I'd be clever and try to swap some chips around, but found out as I was doing it that I have no experience with it and was in way over my head. I do not know if there are working chips here to even create one working SNES, as far as I'm aware all of the graphics chips/etc. are bad. Pics here $35

Adjustments to Tanks
- Rampart and job-specific 30% damage reduction abilities will be upgraded in the 90s level range
- Reprisal’s duration will be increased to 15 seconds in the 90s level range
- The second and third executions of Atonement have been changed to new actions with separate animations (the Atonement button will change to these actions automatically, so button presses will remain the same)
- A new action that can be executed after Blade of Valor will be added
- In order to execute Goring Blade, you will need to have Fight or Flight activated
- A new action, which can be executed after three executions of Fell Cleave or Decimate while Inner Release is active, will be added
- A new action that can be executed after Primal Rend will be added
- Visual effects and animation of Inner Chaos will be adjusted
- To reduce the number of inputs during burst damage phases, Blood Weapon will upgrade into Delirium, and the effects of Blood Weapon will be added to Deliirium
- A new action that can be executed after Living Shadow will be added
- A new action that can be executed after Fated Circle (via Continuation) will be added
- A new 3-step combo that can be executed after Bloodfest will be added (no cartridge cost)
- Second Wind’s potency will be increased in the 90s level range
- Feint’s duration will be increased to 15 seconds in the 90s level range
- Basic combo mechanics will no longer center around maintaining a buff or DoT; instead, performing actions in a certain order will increase the next action’s potency. Adjustments will be
- Can accumulate up to a total of ten chakra while Brotherhood is active, to prevent chakra overflow
- There will be a potency buff to Six-Sided Star if executed while you have ten chakra stacks
- To reduce positional requirements for the single-target combo, the 5th combo action has been changed to a new non-directional action, Drakesbane (Fang and Claw/Wheeling Thrust will change to Drakesbane, so input execution will remain the same
- To facilitate maximum damage output at the beginning of a battle, Life of the Dragon will be available without accumulating Dragon Gauge
- To reduce the number of inputs during burst damage phases, certain actions will be removed or adjusted
- Huton’s effect has been moved to a trait and will always be active (Huton will be changed to an AoE attack which grants the effect of Hidden)
- Actions which extend the duration of Huton’s effect will be adjusted in accordance with the above change
- Due to these adjustments, the Windmill logo in the job gauge will be removed
- To simplify recast management, Tsubame-gaeshi will be changed to be executable after Meikyo Shisui
- Hakaze, Tenka Goten, and Midare Setsugekka will be upgraded into new actions
- Traits will be added that shorten the recast time for Hissastsu: Guren and Hissastsu: Senei
- Plentiful Harvest’s effect will no longer increase the Shroud Gauge by 50, and instead will allow execution of Enshroud (now can be used when gauge is at 51 or more without waste)
- A new action that can be executed while Enshrouded will be added
- Hells’ Ingress and Hell’s Egress will have reduced cool down when Enhanced Harpe is activated
- Link to Viper job overview and gameplay demonstration in the livestream
- A fast-paced job that fluidly shifts between dual-wield blades and double-bladed strikes
- Has a similar total number of actions as other jobs, but is designed so that fewer actions need to be set on the hotbar
- Executing actions will build a job gauge, which can then be expended in an enhanced “Awaken” phase
- When applying buffs to yourself as well as debuffs to the enemy, certain other actions will be enhanced depending on which buffs/debuffs are active
- In addition to close-range melee attacks, there are also some long-range attacks available should you need to fight from afar

- Damage reduction of job-0specific defensive abilities will be increased to 15% in the 90s level range
- Mage’s Ballad, Army’s Paeon, and the Wanderer’s Minuet will be changed into buffing actions which do not attack enemies
- Pitch Perfect will be changed into an AoE attack for ease of use in encounters with multiple enemies
- Single-target and AoE procs (Straight Shot Ready/Shadow Bite Ready) will be merged into one proc for better ease of use
- Barrel Stabilizer will no longer increase Heat Gauger by 50, and instead will allow execution of Hypercharge (can now be used when gauge is at 51 without waste)
- A new trait which accumulates charges for Drill will be added
- A new action that can be executed after Flourish will be added
- A new action which consumes Esprit and can be executed after Technical Finish will be added
- Certain skills currently triggered by Standard Step may now be executed without having to go through the step actions
- Swiftcast’s recast will be reduced to 40 seconds in the 90s level range
- Addle’s duration will be increased to 15 seconds in the 90s level range
- Various adjustments will be made to streamline certain aspects of the job, such as restoring MP upon landing ice spells while Umbral Ice is active, instead of passively over time
- A new action which repositions Ley Lines beneath the caster once will be added
- Solar Bahamut, a new summon akin to Bahamut and Phoenix, will be added (new summon rotation will be: Solar Bahamut - Bahamut - Solar Bahamut - Phoenix)
- A new attack action that can be executed after Searing Light will be added
- Summoner will keep Resurrection for Dawntrail, but may have it removed in 8.0
- Manafication will no longer increase Black Mana and White Mana by 50, and will instead allow the execution of enchanted swordplay actions without cost (can now be executed while mana is at 51 or more without waste)
- The AoE enchanted swordplay combo beginning with Enchanted Moulinet will now consume a total of 50 Black Mana and White Mana, similar to its single-target counterpart
- Whenever Embolden is executed, an attack ability will be enabled
- Link to Pictomancer overview and gameplay demonstration in the livestream (I found this job much easier to understand by watching the demonstration, BTW)
- Job actions centered around Aether Hue elemental attacks (Red = Flare, Green = Aero, Blue = Water) and Motifs (Creature, Weapon, and Landscape)
- Aether Hue attacks build a gauge that can be expended on White elemental Holy attacks as well as Subtractive Pallette, which upgrades your other elemental attacks to higher-potency elements.
- Creature Motif involves rendering parts of a creature (eg. a Moogle) via attacks that will eventually summon the creature for a higher-powered attack
- Weapon Motif is a fast triple-cast combo
- Landscape Motif is a longer-cast action that deals damage to enemy and grants buffs to self and party members
- Swiftcast’s recast time will be reduced top 40 seconds in the 90s level range
- A new action allowing the caster to quickly move forward will be added
- A new AoE attack, which can be executed up to 3 times after Presence of Mind, will be added
- New trait that increases Tetragrammaton stack number will be added
- Seraphism, a new action which changes the caster’s appearance and enhances healing magicks, will be added
- A new AoE attack that can be executed after Chain Stratagem will be added; it will include a DoT
- A new trait that reduces recast time for Recitation will be added
- The card system will no longer be RNG based, and will instead simultaneously draw cards with offensive, defensive, and curative effects
- Every 60 seconds, you can draw one set of four cards (divided under Lord of Crowns or Lady of Crowns), each card having different effects, and you can use the cards in that set depending on your situational needs
- Astrodyne will be removed with the discontinuation of astrosigns
- New trait that increases Essential Dignity stack number will be added
- Eukrasia will now enhance Dyskrasia II into Eukrasian Dyskrasia, an AoE attack which deals damage over time to enemies within range
- A new party buff, which heals party members whenever the caster casts a spell, will be added (basically a ranged version of Kardion, but will only be in effect for a limited amount of time)
- New trait that reduces the recast time of Soteria will be added
- Viper and Pictomancer will be added to PvP in 7.0
- New PvP actions, action adjustments, and adjustments to existing PvP maps are currently planned for 7.1
- Crystalline Conflict ranked matches will;; be in preseason between 7.0 and 7.1 (rankings will not be updated, but tiers and Crystal Credit will be affected by wins and losses
- Two new NPCs that will appear in the Dawntrail MSQ were discussed: Bakool Ja Ja and Koana, who will both be competing for the throne of Tural. Bakool Ja Ja is a two-headed Mamool Ja, similar to Gulool Ja Ja, and Koana is the male Miqo’te from the Dawntrail poster.
Other Information - Benchmark software/graphics update: Some adjustments have been made based on feedback on the original benchmark. These include adjustments to lighting in the character creator, as well as corrections to graphical oddities in character models (addressing things like Keeper of the Moon Miqo’te teeth and Lalafell mouths/teeth). These adjustments will be incorporated into a new benchmark available for download, in addition to the game itself with Dawntrail. Information about a release date for the new benchmark will be announced later.
- Free Fantasia: Starting in 7.0, there will be a new NPC in Ul’dah with a low level quest that can be completed for one free Fantasia per character.
- In addition, using a Fantasia will now grant a 60 minute period during which you can make additional adjustments to your character after re-entering the game world if you are not satisfied with how the adjustments look in game. There is no limit to how many additional times you can tweak your character within this 60 minute period.

I'm reposting because we've cleared up some spots on the server and have since upgraded network equipment so have more capacity for new users. I've also more than doubled the selection of content. Our last go around I only recruited a few users and was very selective, so feel free to re-apply if I didn't select you before. If you don't get into the Plex, you can still get into the Discord where you will have an opportunity to join the Plex in the future.
I'm a digital archivist with a ~500TB collection that I'm looking to share with people. This is the first time I'm expanding access outside my small-circle of friends. I'm looking for people who are also interested in joining and building a real community of AV nerds.
The collection is primarily movies and tv shows. There is a lot of stuff that was personally ripped and you won't find elsewhere, and some "lost media" that took some effort to find.
A lot of attention was paid to "completeness" and correct organization, with over 2500 fully complete TV series and 10000 movies. Completeness includes downloading full franchises of content, so I tend to have all the special episodes/reboots/sequels/spinoffs/movie of any particular franchise. If I'm missing an episode of something, that's because it probably just isn't available ANYWHERE. Quality is almost always the best available resolution/format for whatever content is on the server.
You will also get access to my Overseerr page, where you can request anything I don't already have. Available Sources: All top tier private trackers, many specialized private trackers. Can do a custom request rip if its available on any online streaming service, even if its a foreign streamer like FujiTV On Demand.
I also regularly stream major live events and PPV events for free through our own streaming site.
If you don't make the cut for the Plex, you will still be able to join our Discord where you will be able to participate in the community, join our watch parties, and have an opportunity to join our Plex in the future.

You've set up a Plex Share community before or have a lot of experience with them.
5) Sysadmins
I'm just looking for other homelab geeks to recommend new services, bounce ideas and help troubleshoot stuff. Eventually looking for other admins to help me maintain infrastructure and do admin work when I'm not available to do so.

Anyways about me:
So a little bit about me. Im 25 M and I live in the US. I’m pretty chill and easy going for the most part. I love joking around a lot, so don’t take me seriously most times haha 😅. I like to think that I’m a good listener, or at least i try my best to be. I’m pretty decent at holding conversations too, I can talk about a wide variety of stuff, and I’m not opposed to even talking about more difficult topics, as long as it is civil. I’m go with the flow pretty much, and the energy I get from you I’ll give back in return.
I’m introverted and a homebody, my ideal way of relaxing is wrapped up in a blanket watching a good Netflix series 😌, or just kicking back with some friends playing some games.
I spend a lot of my free time gaming lately. I mostly play Apex whenever I game but I also own some other games too. Recently tho, I have really been getting into Fortnite. I’m usually the one late asf to trends and stuff (it was the same with Squid Games, didn’t watch that until 2-3 years later lmfao 🤣) but it’s hella fun, and I wish I would have tried it sooner. I have both a PlayStation and a Switch and I’m open to suggestions if you ever had another game you wanted to try playing. Feel free to ask me what games I own btw. I enjoy board games and card games too. I used to play Magic the gathering in High school, but it’s been years since I played.
I enjoy listening to music. I listen to a little bit of everything. I like watching tv shows and movies on Netflix, and I’m a huge anime fan! I have more nerdy hobbies overall 😅 and I really enjoy science related topics, i like learning in general tbh. I enjoy playing card and board games, domino’s, ect, and I’m semi decent in chess too. I like reading every now and then, and I love a good story. I love memes and funny/interesting videos, so definitely feel free to share memes whenever you find them, and I definitely will do the same.
I have some hobbies that I pick up and fall off of. A few of those are learning French, learning the guitar, learning to code, draw ect. Consistency is my mortal enemy 😈 lmfao 🤣. I have been picking up the guitar a bit more lately and currently trying to teach myself new techniques on there.
Long term wise, I prefer to keep talking on discord after talking on Reddit for a bit. I also would like it if in the long term you’re comfortable with voice chats. I’m cool with just chatting, but long term it would be better if we could call every now and then. Also, it would be good if we could do virtual hangouts from time to time. Maybe play some games, vibe out to some music, watch some shows/movies/anime together.
During weekdays, chats are usually better for me because I work, but like I said above when I’m off work definitely would love voice calls. And during the weekends when I’m free, I’m definitely down to hang out as well! Bonus points if you are a fellow anime fan or a gamer! I’m pretty decent at holding conversations too, I can talk about a wide variety of stuff, and I’m not opposed to even talking about more difficult topics, as long as it is civil. I spend a lot of my free time gaming lately. I mostly play Apex whenever I game but I also own some other games too. I have both a PlayStation and a Switch and I’m open to suggestions if you ever had another game you wanted to try playing. Feel free to ask me what games I own btw.

Since I’m back from college and reunited with my piano, I find myself falling in love all over again. but the way I play is.. not the most efficient or best way, in fact there are much easier ways I could choose to learn. I want to share my journey and see if anyone else can connect.
In 7th grade, I found myself falling in love with the background songs to animes and games I played— I begged my mom for a keyboard and when I got it, I started just watching easy tutorials online for different songs..

Not long after, I started piano lessons in 8th grade and my parents found a free piano online in town. it was old, not tuned, but I fell so in love with this piano. When covid hit, I continued my lessons online until my junior year.. I stopped showing up to my lessons though, It was horrible time for me mentally and I lost all motivation. I also want to mention I had the most lovely piano teacher, sometimes when I felt like I didn’t like how the notes sounded, she’d tell me to change it to what I liked. She wasn’t strict at all, but still so passionate and inspired me so much.
What I realized was that something so structured was hard for me to follow.. I used to be able to decently sight-read, but I cannot anymore. I have found myself liking it much more to memorize the keys and watch the way someone plays. It’s honestly a little embarrassing. I have considered my learning disability, maybe it’s apart of it, I’ve never been one to learn by the usual rules. It’s harder to remember songs when I don’t have the notes obviously, but I almost feel so much more connected to my piano when I memorize and rely on the muscle memory of my fingers moving against the keys. Closing my eyes and really absorbing the way i play, how I choose to play..
Sometimes I get upset with myself for not practicing terms, chords, sight-reading, etc. but i always burn out when I try. if anyone relates or has any comments, I would love to hear. Thank you for reading if you did go this far :)

The difference between the original is that I stick around for the aftermath after getting myself some elixir of eternity, talking and getting along with Salem until and making her think I am a manifestation of the mind and make sure she doesn't go inside the pool of destruction, but ultimately leaving her alone at the last legs of the journey so she can fall in later without my positive influence.
When Ozpin is reincarnated, I once again wait for him to begin moving and meet Salem, I then allow them to fight and return for my misdirection technique where I trick Salem, giving Ozpin enough leverage to get the girls out. I then lay the guilt on, HARD, about how she killed her own daughters and how she could have died millenniums ago if not for her pride and ego, being 1000x worse than her father. In the event this mental manipulation solves the problem and she admits her mistakes then yippee, but, otherwise, I continue with my plans by hiding the children and allowing them to find relationships while I continue researching the grimm. I take them to the lower islands on the map, clear out the grimm and use my own which I would either have tamed or learned how to herd and fake extreme grimm density. Slowly I build my population and selectively breed the people to be taller, stronger and not alter Ozpin's reincarnation cycle by using my own stock. When we start reaching modern stuff, I kill Cinder before she has the chance to take half of Summer's powers and allow Pyrrha to possess the half-dead corpse. I would have also come out at some point, possibly with my men, to continue the heavily guarded city beyond the mountains, using it as an emotional sponge to massively decrease the grimm population. Meanwhile, over the years and well after exploration had finished, the other islands in the south near Vacuo would have been cleared out and populated. Using these islands, a lot of resources would have been sent to Menagerie so their paradise/asylum/home was more than a tropical tourist spot with terrorists. Similar events would be done around the world like expanding Atlas with a city on its Eastern side that exploited the same deep dust veins.
Come the attack at Beacon, well that is simply an event that shouldn't be stopped, instead, the forces were to be relocated elsewhere and when everyone left with plot significance the soldiers could come in and clear out the rest. The story would continue until the ladies got to Atlas, at which point the plan to leave the planet would be progressed while I take the knowledge wish granter, killing Salem's agents and allowing Atlas to safely leave orbit while the spacial bridge was opened for the people under Atlas. Finally, entering the 9th season, I jump down and eat the time fruit, giving Jaune a wink as I surpass him and vanish to the beginning. Watching the gods grow up, I capture their destroyer and teach them responsibility before beating the shit out of them, knowing that their journey of discovery will force them to repeat their mistakes. With what needed to be accomplished done, I take the leaf and get behind Jaune once more so I can go exploring, collecting and learning. Once I have seen all I possibly can, I end up back at the tree using the leaves and go to the present, saving the cat and the demon for my trump card, modifying the lamp to hold them and give the cat the answers it wanted while making the demon more humane and able to change his size. I then once again leave team RWBY and friends with the cat and demon by my side with a bunch of leaves and a seed.
Now back and ahead of the story, I reconnect with my people, happily hearing how things have gone as directed and that Atlas has positioned itself above Vacuo, sending down massive amounts of resources upon request and establishing an inter-planetary defence network that utilises mechs, asteroids, lasers and drop pods. The best part is that after getting the help of the Tree, the final part of my plan has been completed where I reveal myself, showing off my army of faunus, silver-eyed, semblance-using, magic users. The best part is that the Tree wasn't just used for a time skip and secretly helped complete my final form.
Like Salem, her immortality allowed her to be drenched in grimm energy which would have eroded anything else, giving her control and partial traits, as well as a liking for destruction. But the truth of the grimm component is that it is like Venom from Marvel and has the opportunity to harmonise cells as free parts that work with even greater determination and vigour. Mixing it with a body is hazardous and wouldn't have the intended effect and using an immortal simply creates a balance because there is no means of contention. But since I spent the time gaining pawns and researching dust, I would have finally been able to conduct a hybrid formula of dust and grimm that could be injected into exceptionally strong individuals or immortals with a proper synchronisation rate. As for the cat, it offered the potential to enhance things even further by using its supernatural and reality-defying powers to simulate a consciousness for the grimm-dust cells that merged with my immortal ones, allowing the new mind to be absorbed and enhance my abilities over my own body. As for the demon and leaves, they have a different purpose, one that others thought wasn't needed when Salem arrived after a while with her flying gorilla and dragon fleet with a bit of native desert-type grim and migrating herds. When they came, using the satellite array and infinite powers of creation to create defences only made up in a child's imagination, also using Penny and her ice abilities to clear out and flatten desert mounds. Speaking of Penny, her soul project was mass-produced using those of a good nature, meanwhile, Penny became like the director or big sister to all the other androids with their cybernetic superpowers. Something that would be a massive help against Salem's latest onslaught of epic and never-ending hellfire and rattlesnakes. Eventually, Salem would be beaten and cornered where she would be sealed and imprisoned thanks to the combined efforts of everyone, making an overwhelming last-stand victory. But Salem's wishes wouldn't go unfulfilled and she would get to see part of what she wished for desperately, seeing the gods descend upon the world where they would be met with me. If you were properly reading by now, you would know I gave these gods PTSD once I showed my maddened face and gave them a roast about their failings as gods and abandonment of their creations before talking about the philosophies and sophistry for why humanity should live by mentioning everything, from our flaws to our cute quirks to our outstanding commitments. The gods would be made to seriously consider as they were buttered up by their shrines being decorated and freshly offered offerings. Finally, though, what would be the final straw is the tea which would have the leaves pushed into their mouths, bringing them back to the Tree for sorting, alls all that ends well

I'm posting some old stories that I wrote maybe 6 or 7 years ago before I knew HFY existed so you may have read them before on WP or some other sub but they are mine. Also, obligatory "english is not my first language"
Calvin sat in silence, his gaze focused on the green dot flashing slowly on his console. The Council had kept their word. His comm interface had connected to a temporary relay satellite near Saturn. A special request that was granted to lift Earth's isolation sentence for a brief moment to relay a final message to the cosmos. Everything was ready, the message prerecorded the day before and final adjustements to the gift had been made a few weeks ago. Calvin pondered everything that had happened, every events leading to this moment, to humanity's last chance to stand on the centerstage.
It didn't start this way. When humanity first made contact with an extraterrestrial race, we were welcomed with opened arms. Our very first message was "we come in a spirit of friendship" Humanity's quick evolution and technological progress had already caught the attention of the Galactic System Alliance. Some of its members were concerned over the general violent tendencies demonstrated throughout human history but true to its benevolent mission, the Alliance had given humanity the benefit of the doubt. We were allowed outposts, territories, trading routes and even the newly created 328th seat on the Galactic Council of Representatives. Humanity was given a real fair chance to shine. And boy did we waste it.
The Galactic Alliance was over 5 million years old, some of its members could be traced back all the way to the founding days of the Alliance. It had brought about a previously unheard of, almost uninterrupted era of peace throughout the galaxy. Its rulings were generally both fair and just. A beacon of hope and justice into the dark cosmos. Humanity gave it its first civil war, less than 50 years after joining. 5 million years of peace, ripped apart in the space of a moment.
Humanity started off well enough. Outposts and trading were profitable and while human vessels were not as technologically advanced as other races, our ability to anticipate enemy movements and quickly adapt to volatile situations made us a prime candidate for galactic peacekeeping missions. Humans rapidly made a name for themselves as a deterrent to pirates and smugglers. The Galactic Council did not hesitate to authorize human settlements in sectors prone to hostile actions, knowing that humanity's presence would pacify a sector quickly. Humanity's image rose to a more favorable one and initial concerns and hesitations towards us slowly crumbled away. Unfortunately with the rise of humanity's standing, came a rise of its hubris. After all, humans will always remain humans; fickle, volatile, greedy.
Humanity became more and more demanding in its dealings with the Alliance. We constantly wanted more, became arrogant, took what we felt we deserved. The Council turned a blind eye when humanity moved in on turbulent territories and claim them for itself but before long, we had our eyes set on more prominent systems. With every outburst and hostile action, we only isolated ourselves further. Humanity's positive image quickly turned negative, and when backed into a corner, humanity turned vengeful. We convinced ourselves we were the victims and that in the end, it was us or them. Some members of the Alliance came to view our side of things, others were forced into servitude. A simple spark was all it took for a full fledge civil war to break out.
Within the span of only 3 years, the Alliance was on fire, divided, broken. Humanity's unmatched potential for warfare made it a formidable enemy but in the end our arrogance got the better of us and we lost. The consequences for our actions were harsh but justified. Given humanity's irrecoverable nature, we had been sentenced to erasing. All humans would be relocated to Earth, sterilized and left to die alone, the Sol system kept under a permanent military blockade. All mentions of humanity were to be removed from Galactic history and we would be forgotten, erased from existence. It was the second time only, in the entire Alliance's history that this punishment was handed out.
As a final gesture of good will, the Council had authorized a final message from humanity's last living representative to the members of the Alliance, to be distributed, but then erased. Looking up from his console, Calvin toggled the small switch that would send out the transmission to the satellite's internal memory, then end his life. He permitted himself a final smile, the Council would be seriously pissed... at first.
In the dark emptiness of space, the small satellite's memory indicator turned red, signaling reception of a message but unfortunately it was too far away to witness the small light flash from the thermo nuclear explosion that officially ended humanity's presence in the galaxy.
Captain Xandar was pacing back and forth across the small bridge of his scout vessel. While he was honored to be part of an official Council mission, he couldn't help but feel that he was potentially being sacrificed as cannon fodder. The Council may have granted the human's wish of a last message but it still feared a trap. Human's deceptive and violent nature would leave a dark shadow on the galaxy, slow to vanish. Humanity's first word to the Alliance, "Friend" had become a synonym of "deceit, treachery and naivety". The 20 large warships hiding just outside the limit of the Sol system did nothing to calm Xandar's nerves. While they were there to offer protection in case of a human trap, should things go south they would probably not hesitate to destroy Xandar's vessel if needed.
Captain, we are in range of the relay satellite. Systems confirm there is indeed a message on the internal memory. Initial scans show the data file is rather large but still looks clean.
Xandar sighed, the poor human schmuck probably went on a long tirade against the Alliance. A fitting end for such a violent race.
Very well lieutenant, download and scan the message. If everything looks good we'll transmit it to the Council and they can decide if it's worth sharing to the rest of the Alliance or not.

It only seemed fitting that humanity's last action would be to blow trough bureaucratic redtapes and regulations to impose dogs on the galaxy (with the best of intentions of course). Calvin did promise no harm would come the vessel and its crew and that's been true... for the most part. There is definitly no physical harm and while psychological and/or traumatic consequences are a possibility (albeith a rather small one), you know... dogs will take care of that. It all works out in the end.
Well, except for the poor Glaxien crew members who turns out are deadly allergic to dog hair, and the Phlosaks whose skin reacts to dog urine as if it was acid (poor bastard got peed on his face when he lifted a puppy), and the Klaangorians who's very fragile and very vital lower mandible looked like the ideal chew toy for one young puppy. A very uselessly exposed lower mandible if you ask me. Not to mention the many planetary ecosystems that will be seriously messed up by the introduction of a new uncontrolled species.
In fact some would argue that those pesky government regulations were there for a reason, that with time, the Alliance could and would have experimented with the DNA blueprint in a controlled environment and then, given positive results, would have moved on to a gradual and supervised introduction of dogs in the galaxy.
But you know, that's just not the human way to do things. Better to rip the bandage in one go and hope for the best. Surely the Alliance can't fault humanity for what Calvin did, it was for the best, THEIR best and while in retrospect we are kinda sorry about the whole "accidental death by dogs" thing and ruined ecosystems, these are freak occurences, trivial, statistically benign. Like the great Cave Johnson once said, if I put these numbers into my calculator it makes a happy face.

Calvin sat in silence, his gaze focused on the green dot flashing slowly on his console. The Council had kept their word. His comm interface had connected to a temporary relay satellite near Saturn. A special request that was granted to lift Earth's isolation sentence for a brief moment to relay a final message to the cosmos. Everything was ready, the message prerecorded the day before and final adjustements to the gift had been made a few weeks ago. Calvin pondered everything that had happened, every events leading to this moment, to humanity's last chance to stand on the centerstage.
It didn't start this way. When humanity first made contact with an extraterrestrial race, we were welcomed with opened arms. Our very first message was "we come in a spirit of friendship" Humanity's quick evolution and technological progress had already caught the attention of the Galactic System Alliance. Some of its members were concerned over the general violent tendencies demonstrated throughout human history but true to its benevolent mission, the Alliance had given humanity the benefit of the doubt. We were allowed outposts, territories, trading routes and even the newly created 328th seat on the Galactic Council of Representatives. Humanity was given a real fair chance to shine. And boy did we waste it.
The Galactic Alliance was over 5 million years old, some of its members could be traced back all the way to the founding days of the Alliance. It had brought about a previously unheard of, almost uninterrupted era of peace throughout the galaxy. Its rulings were generally both fair and just. A beacon of hope and justice into the dark cosmos. Humanity gave it its first civil war, less than 50 years after joining. 5 million years of peace, ripped apart in the space of a moment.
Humanity started off well enough. Outposts and trading were profitable and while human vessels were not as technologically advanced as other races, our ability to anticipate enemy movements and quickly adapt to volatile situations made us a prime candidate for galactic peacekeeping missions. Humans rapidly made a name for themselves as a deterrent to pirates and smugglers. The Galactic Council did not hesitate to authorize human settlements in sectors prone to hostile actions, knowing that humanity's presence would pacify a sector quickly. Humanity's image rose to a more favorable one and initial concerns and hesitations towards us slowly crumbled away. Unfortunately with the rise of humanity's standing, came a rise of its hubris. After all, humans will always remain humans; fickle, volatile, greedy.
Humanity became more and more demanding in its dealings with the Alliance. We constantly wanted more, became arrogant, took what we felt we deserved. The Council turned a blind eye when humanity moved in on turbulent territories and claim them for itself but before long, we had our eyes set on more prominent systems. With every outburst and hostile action, we only isolated ourselves further. Humanity's positive image quickly turned negative, and when backed into a corner, humanity turned vengeful. We convinced ourselves we were the victims and that in the end, it was us or them. Some members of the Alliance came to view our side of things, others were forced into servitude. A simple spark was all it took for a full fledge civil war to break out.
Within the span of only 3 years, the Alliance was on fire, divided, broken. Humanity's unmatched potential for warfare made it a formidable enemy but in the end our arrogance got the better of us and we lost. The consequences for our actions were harsh but justified. Given humanity's irrecoverable nature, we had been sentenced to erasing. All humans would be relocated to Earth, sterilized and left to die alone, the Sol system kept under a permanent military blockade. All mentions of humanity were to be removed from Galactic history and we would be forgotten, erased from existence. It was the second time only, in the entire Alliance's history that this punishment was handed out.
As a final gesture of good will, the Council had authorized a final message from humanity's last living representative to the members of the Alliance, to be distributed, but then erased. Looking up from his console, Calvin toggled the small switch that would send out the transmission to the satellite's internal memory, then end his life. He permitted himself a final smile, the Council would be seriously pissed... at first.
In the dark emptiness of space, the small satellite's memory indicator turned red, signaling reception of a message but unfortunately it was too far away to witness the small light flash from the thermo nuclear explosion that officially ended humanity's presence in the galaxy.
Captain, we are in range of the relay satellite. Systems confirm there is indeed a message on the internal memory. Initial scans show the data file is rather large but still looks clean.
Xandar sighed, the poor human schmuck probably went on a long tirade against the Alliance. A fitting end for such a violent race.
Very well lieutenant, download and scan the message. If everything looks good we'll transmit it to the Council and they can decide if it's worth sharing to the rest of the Alliance or not.

So all this years of using my old dusty pc, I decided it's high time to do a general upgrade, For the past couple of years I'm only using my integrated graphics to play games, It's okay but i much prefer dedicated ones over integrated. I'm kind of on a strict budget and i want my first purchase to be good and some stupid one that i end up regretting along the way lol.

For example, my team (Washington huskies) have an incoming freshman QB & RB they both have lethal speed. I’m hoping to develop them in my online dynasties but would be a huge bummer if they just have generic stats.
My assumption is that they didn’t go to the high school levels and pay to get opt-ins, but I would love to be wrong.

CONCLUSION:Till hubris you are totally ok, dirk plus triple tonic and new first strike are pretty nice in lane and you can grid for some solokills. After completing Hubris it's kinda tough, item is way worse then eclipse cyclosword but don't worry, we scaling. On 2 items you still feel weaker then if you went casual lethality build, but 3 items is when you start dealing dmg and bold to say it is same or better then casual build. When you have your Inifinity you are able to kill pretty much everything as long as you can kite well. Last 2 items are cheaper you print money fast and you must decide if bonus lethality, bonus AD or situational items are best here.Build is fun as hell, (pretty sure it can be modified to be actually playable in soloq), it lacks CDR and it is the biggest issue, if you are behind early, killing one person is all you can do for most of the part but it can snowball better then ever and stats you are able to get with this build are absurd. I finally got to play around with the update last night on both PC and my Series X. These are my first thoughts and impressions in no particular order...

- The game definitely looks better on both PC and Xbox. I can see improvements in lighting, textures, and the skyboxes just look better in some undefinable way.
- Why is there always a bit more stutter after these updates? Fortunately, they do settle down rather quickly, especially after a save or three. Point is, don't judge performance changes immediately after the update. Get a few saves, maybe an exit and relaunch. And definitely make sure you don't have MS Teams, OBS, 20 active browser pages, and Outlook running at the same time! :-D
- The new maps are fantastic! Exploration has a huge boost by something very simple in concept, though I'm sure it was an absolute bitch to implement. There is a level of detail to the maps and a dynamic nature that is quite impressive as both a gamer and a software engineer.
- Existing outposts seem to not show up in detail in the new maps. It seems all that is needed, though, is to move a couple non-essential items and it procs the overhead view generation. A wind turbine, storage container, etc. is usually sufficient and it seems to be just a bit of a nudge is needed. The result is fantastic, though, and the detail is impressive.
- I think they have tweaked some of the difficulty on ship combat in the Very Hard setting. I've been playing on that setting for some time. All of a sudden, those fights have suddenly become much more difficult, even in lower level systems. I think it might be mostly AI improvements rather than simple tankiness. Enemies are fighting much smarter, and four smart enemies coordinating their attacks better makes a huge difference.
- Extreme difficulty in ground combat is wonderful! I'm still a godlike force of nature in a fight, but now I have to fight smart or I will get pwnd. It's worth it, because DAMN! The legendary drops have been eye popping.
- Enemy AI has definitely improved. They fight smart, use cover effectively, and if it's a losing battle may very well run away. Good thing I'm decent at quick-scoping with my Despondent Assassin.
- Companions are fighting much smarter, too. And they are more free about wandering a bit. I've had Andreja go around a corner or into a room on her own to take out an enemy. This is a mixed blessing. One the one hand, they are really helping in fights. On the other, they are really helping in fights (i.e., stealing kills).
- The tailored survival mode is a great approach. Some of the survival settings are immersion breaking for me, but I can just leave those as normal, bump the ones that make the game better up. So, you can tailor the best game experience for you.
- There have been some definite improvements in the effects for powers. Grav Dash is the one that stands out to me the most, so far.
- Once the game settles after the update (that stuttering I mentioned earlier), it does seem to run much smoother.
- No. More. Shield. Bug. THANK YOU!
- I'm not that sure about food/drink yet. Have really mixed thoughts there.
- I do not have that confusion where environmental damage is concerned. While it might be nice for game difficulty, it really not a benefit for role-playing. This is one of the reasons it's so nice you can tailor survival mode for yourself.
- I'm also of mixed feelings about vendor wealth. I actually like the settings and variety. It's really more a matter of which feels most immersive for me.
