Toyota Corolla (2005) 67,000km
Hello, I am selling my Toyota Corolla (2005) 1.4 D-4D SOL with 67,000km.
I bought it a year ago with 55,000km from an old man who only used it go pick up his grandchildren and go grocery shopping. This man bought it brand new from Toyota. I am the second owner.
In the year that I have had it (i) I changed all tires to all season tires, so these should be good for another 3 years, (ii) I replaced the alternator, (iii) I replaced the battery, and (iv) I installed a cable behind the radio to listen to Spotify in the car, as it does not have Bluetooth. The end is a Jack for Samsung but you could buy an adaptor if you have an iPhone. Happy to provide receipts of all repairs.
From a quick search online, you can see that these cars can drive up to 300,000 km. So this car still has a long life ahead.
Please send me a message so I can send you more pictures of the car, the repair bills and the control technique paper (no defaults). Please let me know if you have any questions

Yield Based Duration Measures and Properties - Modified Duration - Question set (Q5)
Hey guys. I'm struggling to understand how they managed to get 100.815 for the Full Price of the bond (highlighted in green).
I used the financial calculator but I get 100.8056. Was wondering if anyone has worked this example before. Below are the inputs/method I used
What excactly is the correct method? What are the inputs to the financial calculator? Am I missing something?
PVfull = PV(1+r) ^(t/T)
PV = 100 (used this by N = 10, PMT = 1.6, FV =1 00, I/Y = 1.6 and getting PV)
92/151 = t/T
I got 151 as T by using the Date function. The dates used was 15th oct 2025 to 15th April 2026
r = 3.2% / 2 = 1.6%
Really appreciate the assistance and thanks in advance!

Prosopagnosia v. Cotard's Syndrome
My new doctor - a bright and friendly guy named Sarbjit - took the time to explain his diagnosis to me. He told me my condition was mental, not physical, but it was hard to pay attention to everything he said because my left arm was numb and rotting from the inside out. I smiled and nodded and then when I got home I looked up Cotard’s Syndrome online. Here is what Wikipedia had to say on it.
“Cotard's syndrome, also known as ‘Cotard's delusion’ or ‘Walking Corpse Syndrome’, is a rare mental disorder in which the affected person holds the delusional belief that they are dead, do not exist, are putrefying, or have lost their blood or internal organs.”
I don’t know. Sounded extremely strange to me. I just knew my left arm was dying. Maybe my liver too. I used my right arm, the good one, to open my mail. Most of it was just the normal stuff but when I saw the letter from the Supreme Court of the State of New York I got a little worried. I was here legally - a citizen for almost ten years now - and I knew my rights but being summoned to testify at this criminal trial was a bit unnerving. I didn’t like it. I just try to do my best in this life and mind my own business and not cause problems for others.
When my trial appearance date arrived two months later I took the subway downtown and left my assistant, Stavvy, in charge of the office that day. I sat there on a hard wooden bench in the courtroom all morning listening to the testimony of other witnesses but I wasn’t called to the stand until sometime after we returned from lunch. Eventually, the lawyer for the defense called my name.
She mispronounced it of course - people here always mispronounce Albanian names - so I wasn’t surprised when she called me Mister Shka-Rell-Eee. My surname is Shkreli, after the place where my family comes from, and the proper pronunciation contains only two syllables - Shkrell-Eee. I was trying to hold my left arm in place when she asked her opening question.
Where was I at the time of the murder?
“Well, Miss Anderson” - I pronounced it Ahnd-REE-Sawn, drawing out the first and last syllables while placing too much emphasis on the middle one, intentionally - “I am not entirely certain. That was over a year ago and I travel all around this city on a daily basis for my job. I work in computer repair and IT support and I have customers in all five boroughs.” (This wasn’t exactly true. I wasn’t really willing to travel to Staten Island.) We had spoken four months earlier when she informed me of the questions she intended to ask at trial but I was fairly oblique then and I intended to remain so now. I had bigger problems. Could these people not see that my left arm was rotting away?
She looked at me with a furrowed brow and briskly walked back to the defense table, picked up a leather-bound notepad and opened it.
“Mister Shkreli, when you and I spoke on June 18th you confirmed that you were just leaving a client’s office, TRG Commercial Realty, located at 223 Broome Street here in lower Manhattan at approximately 3:30pm that day, shortly before the incident at issue took place less than one block away. Is that not correct?”
I turned up my native eastern European accent a bit and repositioned my left arm in my lap. I could barely feel it at that point. What was wrong with these people?
“If you say so. Like I said, that was over a year ago and it was just another workday for me.”
She stared at me for a beat or two longer than necessary and then flashed a quick look towards the jurors before continuing.
“Well yes, Mister Shkreli” - again it was Shka-Rell-Eee - “You did tell me that and I do have a recording of our conversation, which you consented to before we began, if the court would like this to be entered into evidence?”
She looked at the judge and the judge looked at me.
“Mister Shkreli,” - he too pronounced it Shka-Rell-Eee - ‘Are you refuting the testimony that Miss Anderson is referencing during your preliminary deposition or can we just move on at this point? If counsel for the defense claims to have this recording I am fairly certain this is true. Will it be necessary to enter this recording into evidence at this time or are you willing to acknowledge Miss Anderson’s claim?”
I repositioned my left arm in my lap and nodded.
“That’s fine, Your Honor. As I said, it was just another workday for me but if Miss Anderson says that is what we discussed I am sure she is probably right.”
The judge nodded back at me. “Very good. Let’s proceed then.”
Miss Anderson walked back to the defense table and dropped the leather-bound notepad before continuing with her final question for me, looking annoyed.
“Picking up where we left off, Mister Shkreli, can you please describe for the court what happened immediately after you left the offices of TRG Commercial Realty at 223 Broome Street on the date in question, October 22nd of last year?”
I didn’t like the way that she was trying to fence me in but I wasn't particularly concerned. I had bigger problems.
“Well, like I said, I don’t really remember that day. There was nothing memorable about it. It was just another day.”
She stared at me for a few seconds then flashed a quick look at the jury box with her eyebrows raised before returning her attention to the judge. “No more questions, Your Honor.”
I was dismissed from the stand but asked to remain in the courtroom as she called her next witness; a small, frail woman from Queens about my same age named Maureen Stewart. She had an odd, twitchy nature about her. I wanted to get home. I wanted to relax.
“Miss Stewart, can you please tell the court where you were on October 22nd of last year at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon?”
The witness looked down for a moment and then glanced towards the judge before removing the slightly confused look from her face and responding in a semi-automated tone.
“Yes, Miss Anderson. At that time, I was just leaving my day shift at the FedEx Office Store (she pronounced it ‘Staw’ in her thick New York accent) on Broome Street and I was walking towards the station for the Six Train to begin my ride back home.”
The attorney for the defense took a momentary pause and then asked her next question.
“And can you please tell us what happened then?”
The witness looked down again and then looked back at the judge, then the jury and, finally, at me. I didn’t like the way she looked at me.
“Yes, as I was leaving my workplace I crossed the street and I remember walking past the entrance to a narrow alleyway where I heard a commotion taking place. It made me stop and look for a second or two but I didn’t want to get involved so I just kept on walking towards the subway and I didn’t think too much about the whole thing until the Homicide detectives contacted me a few days later after they pulled the security camera videos. I came down to the police station the day after that and gave my statement. That was just over a year ago.”
Miss Anderson took a moment to stare at me. I didn’t like that either. I adjusted my left arm in my lap. It was completely numb.
“Thank you, Miss Stewart. Can you please be a bit more specific about what you saw occurring in that alleyway?”
Again, the witness looked down at the floor and then her eyes shot all around the courtroom before she responded.
“Well,” she said, before taking a brief pause. “At first I thought it was just a little scuffle but when I saw the shorter man in the black jacket punch the tall man in the belly a few times I saw some blood starting to spread on the side of his white button-down shirt and I saw what looked like a small knife or something in the shorter man’s hand. The tall thin man looked like he was starting to fall. I remember looking around for a police officer but I certainly wasn’t gonna do anything about it by myself. I mean, what could I do? When I didn’t see no one who could help I just kept on walking towards the subway. I guess I should have done more but I was scared and I just wanted to get back to Forest Hills to pick up my daughter from daycare before five o’clock.”
I glanced at the defendant seated at the table on the left. He looked both hopeful and nervous at the same time, but in a subtle way, like he didn’t want to appear to be either. He kept his head down and never once glanced towards the jury box. Miss Anderson asked her final question.
“Thank you, Miss Stewart. And do you see the man in the black jacket who stabbed the victim, Mister Baronston, on that day last October here in the courtroom now?”
Again the witness looked down at the floor between her feet for a moment and then looked back up, right at me. I felt my blood stop flowing through my veins, or at least through my left arm and the top of my right leg, when she raised up her hand and pointed her index finger at me.
“It was that man, there,” she said.
Miss Anderson nodded and paused for a moment, satisfied, letting it sink in for the jury members. I was stunned. The stylish defense attorney in the toney, expensive clothing began walking back in my direction and she too pointed an accusatory finger.
“If it pleases the court, let the record show that Miss Stewart has identified Mister Jack Shkreli as the attacker who she witnessed in the-”
Just then the witness on the stand, Miss Stewart, pointed her finger at the judge without really looking at him and suddenly blurted out, “Or him. It might have been him too. I’m not 100% sure...”
Miss Anderson paused, clearly nonplussed, and just stared at her witness. The judge also looked baffled for a second or two and then leaned over and whispered something to his court assistant and the two of them shared a quiet smirk.
Then the witness pointed at one of the jurors, a man in the front row about my size.
“Or him. It could have been him. I’m just not sure...” Then she went silent, as did the rest of the courtroom for a few moments. The State’s Attorney, a heavy-set bald man, broke the silence pretty quickly as he rose to his feet.
“Your Honor, the State would like to move to dismiss this witness along with all previous testimony.” He paused briefly and took a deep breath, choosing his next words.
“While we appreciate Miss Stewart’s willingness to appear at trial today, I think it’s clear that her recollection of events is…uncertain at best.” He glared at the defense table for a moment, then added “I’d just like to remind the court that Mister Shkreli” - and God bless him, he pronounced my two-syllable surname correctly - “is not on trial here and if this witness cannot distinguish the man she saw that day from yourself or a random member of our jury panel I don’t think we can accept this testimony or any further testimony from this witness.”
He hung his head respectfully, with the tiniest little smile on his face. He already knew he had won this argument and the judge quickly agreed, telling the jury to disregard what they just heard. Miss Stewart was dismissed from the stand and the defense had no other witnesses left to call. Less than two hours later the jury returned a guilty verdict against the defendant on all counts and the courtroom was cleared. The sentencing hearing would take place at a later date and I was not required to be there. My right leg was starting to feel numb by then but I still managed to get back to the office in time for Stavvy to head home at the end of his shift to make dinner for his kids. His wife was killed in a car accident two years earlier. He was a hard worker and I really liked him.
That night, back at my apartment, I did some research online and learned about a rare mental disorder known as Prosopagnosia. Here is what Wikipedia had to say.
Prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness, is a cognitive disorder of face perception in which the ability to recognize familiar faces, including one's own face (self-recognition), is impaired, while other aspects of visual processing (e.g. object discrimination) and intellectual functioning remain intact.
It all sounded pretty strange to me but if the doctors say it’s real who am I to argue? Apparently it is well documented in the DSM-5. I don’t know if this is the reason why I was able to walk away from the courtroom without consequence at first but I think it is the most likely explanation. I only know that when I left my client’s offices at TRG Commercial Realty on that day just over a year ago and hailed a cab I was stunned and confused when Mister Baronston, a complete stranger with a hostile face, suddenly attacked me, claiming that it was his cab and not mine.
He was bigger than me, tall and thin but strong, and I would have just given up the cab and caught the next one but he was clearly already very angry about something. When he backed me towards the alley, shoving me and then punching me around my head and neck, my backpack tumbled open and I saw my wallet and phone and some other items come crashing out onto the pavement. It was just a stupid and unnecessary altercation, the kind of thing that probably happens on the streets of this city every day, sadly. Too many people, not enough space. I did my best to fight back and protect myself but he was a good deal bigger than me.
Then I was getting punched some more and thrown against the alley wall as people passed by, disinterested, and I just instinctively reached into my jacket pocket and pulled out the pen knife that has been attached to my keychain for years. Before I really knew what was happening it was open and then my right hand was growing warm and red and slick with his blood. Then I was moving again, not looking back.
What an odd thing. I remember seeing Miss Stewart stopping there on the sidewalk to look from the mouth of the alley that day. Of all the passers-by, she was the only one who paused to look at us, at me, right as I desperately punctured Mister Baronston’s rib cage for the fifth or sixth time with my little penknife and he began to drop, but she averted her gaze after a few seconds and moved on and then I was rapidly heading in the opposite direction. This is a huge city and I never expected to see her face again. Fortunately, she was apparently never really able to see mine.
Anyway, I have more important problems to worry about at this time. Stavvy received a letter from the Manhattan DA’s office yesterday ordering him to appear at a grand jury hearing next month related to my involvement in Mister Baronston’s death. He showed it to me. More importantly, my left arm is just about gone now, my right leg is quickly starting to feel the same way and in just the last day or two I have begun feeling that strange tingling sensation in the tips of the fingers on my right hand. I know my liver is failing. It won’t be long now.
I scheduled a meeting with my lawyer in the morning to legally put the business and the rest of my assets in Stavvy’s name in my will. I have no family here anyway and almost no relatives who I remain close with back in Albania or Montenegro anymore. Stavvy is a good man and he has kids to feed and I have already lived a full life.
So yes, I will just leave it all to him and after that’s done I think I will get the old Ford minivan that we sometimes still use for the business and drive it out to the George Washington Bridge while I am still able. I know that when I stop it and get out and leave it there on the center-span I will screw up traffic badly and inconvenience a lot of people but I can’t worry about that. I have to do what I have to do. There’s no point in waiting for this to get worse. I can barely feel the fingers on my right hand and I don’t have much time left.
Maybe I should have told the truth at the trial. I don’t know. I think I was just too distracted by all of my health problems. I didn’t really have any choice at the time. I don’t have any choice now. I’m actually surprised that I lasted this long. I was certain that I would already be gone a few months ago but I feel I have done my best with this life.
As my people back in Albania say, Mos pyet si vdiq, por si rrojti!
“Do not ask how he died, but how he lived!”
THE END

2024.06.09 07:21 lowkeygoogoo What dose "Regular Return" on online orders mean?

I bought some "Free Ship to store" items on menards.com last month. Under Return Policy of the items, it says "Regular Return (view Return Policy)." But the receipt says "Special Order" (but there's no mention of it anywhere before I purchased them.)
Can I still return them to store?
I'd assume that "Regular Return" means I can return the items to store within 90 days.
But then the receipt says "Special Order," do I have to pay 25% restocking fees?
And menards.com says "You can return an item you purchased online to a Menards® store. However, it is at the individual store's discretion whether or not to accept the return. Please view our Return Policies below for more details."
I'm so confused...

2024.06.09 06:40 fuckfuckredditards-- I just got 3 pan pizzas for less than $9

I had $30(3x$10) in dominos gift cards, and since they had a 50% off deal going I placed an order online for 3, 2 topping, medium pan pizzas. Total was about $26
I couldn't figure out how to use more than 2 gift cards online so I selected Pay at Store.
When I got there, the guy had to call someone else to help ring me up since he was new and didn't know how to do gift cards. The other guy messed with the screen then said slide the gift card.
After I slid my first card, before I got my second one ready, a receipt printed and he said looks like you got $1.40 still left on the card, handed me my 3 pizzas, and said have a nice day.
I'm not a good enough person to say "excuse me, you undercharged me" so I left without saying anything else.
I never got a call back from them or anything, and I checked my rewards points and it says +10 points pending. So I'm gonna get those rewards points too?
And what did the guy charge me for? One pizza? Someone else's order? I'm also wondering how he thought $8.60 would be the total for 3 pan pizzas.
Hope it doesn't screw the staff over, but damn I was happy to get such a great deal on food in this economy.

2024.06.09 06:24 NWSE-360 wifi at remote cabin - eap610 vs Ayrmesh

Hello,
Not sure if i'm posting this in the right place. Posted this question on here a couple days ago with no response, so I tried to post on networking but it was removed immediately. Maybe I should have left it here?
I'm looking for opinions on a set up for the following situation with the goal of having a useable signal in an off grid cabin and around the property for wifi calling and browsing (and also on the lake if that possible):
Two square shaped 140' x 140' sites, side by side along the shore of a lake. They are divided by approximately 50 feet of forest. All off grid, and no cell service. One site has a cabin with solar power and Starlink. The other has an unpowered cabin and a camper on site.
Usually less than ten people using the internet, never more than 30.
After some reading online, I ordered 2 TP link 610 outdoor access points, a 65W POE switch TL-SG1005P, oc200 controller, and an er605 router, with the intent of running a 200' ethernet cable from the switch in the powered cabin through the trees to the unpowered lot. One eap610 per stie. At the moment, I can actually pick up the Starlink router from 150 feet away on the unpowered lot, though its spotty.
While waiting for the order to arrive, I read about Ayrstone Ayrmesh. I'm wondering if that would be a better solution, allowing me to have internet access while out on the lake with their "cab hub" on the boat. Most of the lake is line of site from both lots with the farthest shore 1.9 miles away (but even half way across would suffice).
Or should I be doing something completely different? Appreciate your thoughts.

2024.06.09 05:03 stroml0 Dakar Truck build complete 💯

Dakar Truck build complete 💯
Almost a year after starting the first version, I've completed* my custom built 1:12 Kamaz Dakar truck !!
Phase 1 was a 3d printed body and paint job, 3d chassis and running gear but I found the transmission was made of cheese, so I decided to build my own Phase II frame incl own scale suspension setup (leaf and dual damper) and make it 3s capable. It's around a 15" wheelbase...
I used Ali sourced components to keep cost low but it was still $$. Inspo purely from online pictures and the 3d chassis I have.
The biggest challenges involved designing my own axle mount and geometry to accommodate dual shocks (5+ iterations) AND leaf springs, mounting the body to line up cab/ backend liveries, getting the transfer case properly located to ensure drive lines didn't bind.....
I learned how to CAD otherwise I'd have been stuffed! I also learned everything about glues. Plastic to plastic..pla to pla... Plastic to aluminium...pla to aluminium 😂. I have a glue, epoxy or solvent for everything!
It's capable of over 15mph but I don't want it faster, that's enough and it can almost pop a wheelie lol.
Specs: - Scx10ii clone axle housing with Boom racing axles - c-channel framerail - Scx10ii clone gearbox - Rc4wd clone transfer case - hobbywing bl120a esc - surpass 3100kv 3650 brushless + larger pinion - injora lightkit - body stl from mrPaul3D - lots of Tamiya paint - ESS soundkit
It's as scale as possible incl leading front and rear links and aforementioned leaf and shock setup.
I need to tune the suspension as it's not as plushy as I want, I have rc4wd soft red links to try. I also want to repaint the body in a totally new Monster Energy livery.
I also have a prefixial gearbox to experiment with one day.
My next project will be another Dakar truck, but a legendary one with all the lessons learned here poured into it 😎.

I can’t find the receipt and the store Snipes said without it I can’t even exchange for a correct size or credit. Is this worth calling Amex to see if they can do anything? Hoodie has tags and never been worn. If not I’ll try to sell it online somewhere

2024.06.09 03:37 Brownie5596 Nissan Titan brakes go to the floor after bleeding 4 times

Nissan Titan brakes go to the floor after bleeding 4 times
Before doing anything, the brakes acted as they should on a 2008 Nissan Titan King Cab LE V8 5.6.

TLDR

TLDR: Bled brakes 4 times, twice using the pumping brake method, once by a place that only does brakes (Brakes Plus), then did a half assed job at with the Mityvac MV8000. I would read just the bolded and then watch the videos.
Recently we replaced the front driver caliper. There was an attempt to bleed the brakes but didn't get far and decided to wait till the next day. My dad said he did not go below the minimum line on the reservoir. The next day while bleeding the driver rear, the nipple was rusted so badly that it actually broke off. We then replaced the driver rear.
Bleed #1) Next, we started the first full bleeding. We broke the nipple on the driver rear so we replaced the caliper and started the bleeding over. Starting on the passenger rear, I pumped the brakes a few times (3 to 6+times, attempting to get it firm but not working), not pushing down slowly. I held down on the brake pedal, most of the time it was already at on the floor or as far down because of how bad they were. As my dad opened the bleeding valve, I believe some air bubbles came out. We did it until we didn't see anymore bubbles from that wheel. The valve was open when the brake pedal was on the floor pushed down to the max, if that changes anything. Then we repeated all of this going from driver rear, then to passenger front, and then to driver front. At some points it felt like I would pump it and it would get half firm, but then after pumping it again, all that pressure was gone. We went out of order after doing all of that to see if there was any air left. We also did some of it while the car was on and off. Gave it a test drive and brakes went to the floor immediately, similar to what happened in the videos.
Bleed #2) I did some research and 2 hours later we tried again. This time I would pump the brakes and it still didn't get completely stiff. However, the car was off the entire time this bleed and I would not let the brake pedal touch the floor and be maxed out while the valve was open, I don't know if this makes any difference. My dad said he saw some small bubbles at first, about pin heads, and eventually went to very very tiny bubbles that were barely noticeable. We bled each brake until we saw clear fluid with no air bubbles. Also this bleed, my dad opened the valve a small amount compared to the other times, if that has any effects. The car was jacked up maybe less than 6 inches off the ground to be able to get to the nipple without taking off the tires, it was not even. Even after bleeding it this time, very little changed, said that there was a very small improvement, might have been placebo. It still took us about 3 seconds to stop going on a relatively flat paved road going about 25mph.
After these 2 bleeds, I think that the SLIP light came on sometimes.
Bleed #3) Took it to Brakes Plus to have them bleed it because maybe we didn't do it correctly. They couldn't get the brakes to get better. My dad mentioned something about it possibly being in the ABS motor thing even though we didn't let the reservoir get below the minimum, unless we did just a little bit and didn't notice. The guy said something like how it could be in there but didn't have the tools for it.
Next day we decided to take it to a gravel road and get the ABS to activate, it worked. We did it probably 15+ times, activated for an average of 3+ seconds each time. Did not make any difference.
Bleed #4) I then by myself I used a Mityvac MV8000 to bleed the brakes since I was alone. At this point I think I found the service manual for the car, picture of how it says to bleed the brakes. I did it while the car was off and all evenly jacked off the ground about a foot. I went in order that it said (pic below). I disconnected the negative terminal of the battery because I didn't want to unplug the ABS. I attached it to the nipple, which was not easy, and then to the MV8000. Even with the valve closed, it would loose about 1 PSI every 3 seconds. I opened the valve, fluid started to come out but then a bunch of huge air bubbles came out, to the point where more bubbles than fluid came out. I did this one caliper probably like 20+ times and went through about 5+ oz of brake fluid. I thought that maybe I had the valve opened too much so I opened less and instead of huge bubbles, medium bubbles that were about the size of a pin head with that pearl thing on top came out. Opened it less, and smaller ones came out. Opened it a bunch and a bunch came out. I thought it was maybe that caliper so I switched to the driver front, like it says in the service manual, and did it there. The same thing happened. I have a video of me using the MV8000 and then me pumping the brakes, it is till connected to the MV8000 but there is no pressure built up. You can also see that fluid leaks from the threads when I pump the brakes. I don't know if air slipped between the threads when I was using the MV8000. I only did those 2 since the bubbles were coming out nonstop and I felt like there wasn't a point.
If you have questions maybe look at regular text, I tried to be somewhat specific even if it could have a very small impact on what happened.
What is the problem? Can you tell from the last 2 videos?
We are going to get another thing to bleed with that I believe attaches to the reservoir or something and then connects to an air compressor. When we do this one last bleed, is there anything specific we can do to make it better?
Is it a bad master cylinder? no visible leaks on top or near it, can send photos
A line broke at some point? I don't see any lines leaking and brake fluid level doesn't go down from what I can see. Nothing is dripping on the ground.
Still air in the ABS?
Is air getting between threads, if so, what can we use to make it air tight?
Below are 1 picture of the service manual that I found online and 4 videos.

Video 1) Me using the MV8000 and you can see all the bubbles.
Video 2) Pumping the brakes with the MV8000 attached but no pressure
Video 3) Current state of the brakes while off. When I say it isn't getting stiff, I meant that it is resisting but if I wanted to, I could stand up or put more pressure and it would go down further.
Video 4) Current state of brakes while off and on and lights that show up. When I say "It is hard to pump it" once the truck is on, I meant that it is really easy to push down but hard to pump in order to get the brake pedal stiff.
Edit, I had to unfortunately use Youtube links because I could only upload 1 video and 1 picture, or I just can't figure it out.

2024.06.09 03:23 New-Outside-2843 Finally! My citizenship journey is over!

First off, I obtained my GC via marriage in 2019. Unfortunately, my ex and I had to separate in 2021 and I had to wait to be eligible using the 5 year rule. We are technically still married and divorce is yet to be filed. I still documented in my papers that I am still married and I explained the details during my interview and paperwork.
N-400 application file: April 23,2024 Receipt of notification of interview schedule (via online account): May 2, 2024 Interview: June 7, 2024
I am still waiting for my schedule for oathtaking ceremony as it will be done via court due to request via name change.
To those still waiting, do not lose hope and good luck on your journey.
I was interviewed in the Fairfax, VA office. Feel free to ask me anything and I will try to help as much as I can.

2024.06.09 01:51 DoobieWater Battery return question

Better to return through Ryobi or try my luck at Home Depot? Bought everything at Home Depot online so I have receipts and all batteries are still under warranty. 4 batteries in question are no good.

Nissan Titan Brakes have no resistance after bleeding 4 times
Before doing anything, the brakes acted as they should on a Before doing anything, the brakes acted as they should on a 2008 Nissan Titan King Cab LE V8 5.6.

2024.06.09 00:46 crapinator2000 Two months in France

I just spent about two months in (mostly) rural France and a few weeks in the UK. I think these days some might call it “slow travel.” I loved it and hope to go back again soon.
Most of the time it was off season, almost all of it amidst the French. I heard very little English. And what little I did hear was from Londoners over for a week or so. Culturally, the entire experience was exceptional in its breadth and scope, and the total experience made me question a few fundamental things about my very North American life, habits and predilictions. Most of all, it made me feel somewhat ashamed of how raw, unrefined and base much of the USA is in daily life.
I found myself explaining, back in the States, some of the differences. There are so, so many. Some subtle, some not. Here are just a few, based on my unscientific and highly subjective experiences.
1/ In both UK and France, there is no tipping at restaurants, for cabs, or anything. On occassion people in the major metro areas sometimes greedily ask if you want to leave a tip, knowing that Americans are schooled to do this. They seem to be cynically betting on your ignorance. Don’t do it.
2/ In France (and perhaps Scotland), at restaurants prices quoted have no sudden mystery fees (tips, taxes, etc) so there are no surprises at checkout.
3/ In France, all bottle caps stay attached to plastic bottles. You unscrew the cap and tip it (click) out of the way.
4/ In some supermarkets, shopping carts are chained together at the stores. Plastic baskets are kept inside the stores’ payment perimeters.
5/ In such supermarkets, clerks give out plastic ‘coins’ which unlock the daisy chain of carts. Keeps homeless people from stealing them.
6/ In some supermarkets, in self check areas, after you get your bag of goodies, you are greeted with a turnstile. You scan the barcode on your receipt to open the turnstile to leave the area, keeping shoplifting down.
7/ Metro train systems are extremely well developed. The metro stations in London have a simple tap in/tap out mechanisms… no need to buy a ticket at all. Just use your payment card, and it calculates your fare based on time of day and/or distance travelled.
8/ People generally dress the same as they do in the States except they wear little to no ath-leasure wear, or large grahic t shirts, or things with boastful logos, or ripped jeans. The only ripped jeans we saw in almost a month were muddy, ripped jeans worn by an unfortunate homeless girl near the river.
9/ In both the UK and France, people act and dress more conservatively than they do in the States. It is subtle but constant.
10/ Counter to what you hearead on social media, people do not ‘dress up’… they wear more regular clothing… jeans and other things… more or less just like Americans (with a few exceptions).
11/ Walking in a crowd, it is easy to tell who slavishly adheres to the “dress up” myths that seem to be echo-chamber perpetuated on social media. The ladies whomfollowmthis dress like they are about to star in a fashion shoot (definitely too flashy for the French), and the men just seem unrealistically stylish… no baseball caps, but rather straw hats, pastel pants … and these poor fellows all look like little lap dogs put into costumes… all look uncomfortably self-conscious as they parade around (see above).
12/ Almost all bathrooms are unisex, even those with multiple stalls… While socially progressive, to be honest this is also a bit cringy. When a man is active at the urinal and je can sense that there are women or girls lined up right behind him, and waiting for a stall, it feels like one false move could be criminal. All quite awkward.
13/ There are no billboards, except for official parks and attractions
14/ There are no political yard signs
15/ Trains are as quiet as libraries
16/ Trains almost always run on time
17/ Manners are evident. You say ‘good day’ when you walk into a store. You use ‘please’ and ‘thank you.’
18/ At restaurants, waiters do not bring the bill until asked. To do so would be seen as too presumptive, rude and rushed
19/ At restaurants, if there is a number on your table, to pay you generally go to the cash register, tell him that number, and he totals up your tab right there.
20/ All technology is quite advanced… for payment cards, everything is tap and go. at restaurants the waiter at no time holds or touches your payment card. . 21/ At a restaurant, if a table has no tablecloth, it is designated for drinks only
22/ At a restaurant, if a table has a tablecloth, it is designated for dining, and you will be presumed to order food as well as drink
23/ When entering rural hamlets, there are ver often obstacles placed in the road so that the one lane area — generally just a few car lenghts — becomes a temporary one lane road, making each person slow down for the other. it is a traffic calming device.
24/ In some rural hamlets you need to ‘pump’ water up into the toilet tank for the flush to work. From laborious scientific trial and error, it seems that the optimal is three to five pumps, depending upon the situation.
25/ In rural hamlets, if the building is more than 100 years old, you may find an old arch alcove in the garden outside the kitchen … about the size that could perhaps have held a statue. Usually now gated, if it were a ‘good’ house, this alcove often proves to be where the well had been in previous eras.
Random stuff, but hopefully an entertaining read. Explore and enjoy your own adventures! Maybe this will add to your enjoyment.

2024.06.09 00:18 Pantazmagoria Questions for the OJIs

I just needed a few questions answered for areas that I'm unclear in. If you're not an OJI and you know the answer to some or all, I would also appreciate your knowledge.
1 - How do I identify the bundle system for my route?
2 - Do you still use the 3575's? We were told that everyone has to go online, or go to the local post office with their IDs.
3 - Do we still use the 3575z? (Employee generated change of address)
4 - What is a "Bundle carrier endorsement"?
5 - What is Anonymous (target) mail, and how do you isolate it?
6 - I have a copy of the PS Form 3821 (clearing receipt) but I've never used it, nor do I know how too. Is this an outdated form?
Thank you

2024.06.08 23:41 earthquakemilkshake US citizens traveling in Europe: what do we need to move between countries?

hi all! sorry for the borderline dumb question. hoping to get some guidance on travel/visa guidelines. My friend and I (both with US passports) flew into france at the start of the month. we are planning on traveling in europe for the remainder of the summer. I know there is a 90 day limit on Schengen area visitation. We do not plan to exceed that limit. However, when we travel between Schengen countries, do we need to declare that we have entered that country? We found some information for Italy but also have an upcoming plan to travel to Switzerland, and we couldn’t find info online. We’ve also heard a few people mention that staying over eight days requires different forms. Does anyone have any information or guidance on this subject? Thank you.
here is the italy information we found: “Tourists arriving from a Schengen-country (e.g. France) must request the declaration of presence form from a local police office (commissariato di zona), police headquarters (questura) or their place of stay (e.g. hotel, hostel, campgrounds) and submit the form to the police or to their place of stay within eight business days of arrival. It is important that applicants keep a copy of the receipt issued by the Italian authorities. Failure to complete a declaration of presence is punishable by expulsion from Italy. Additional information may be obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polizia di Stato.”
