These are the important plans and intentions of the Dutch coalition agreement

2024.05.16 10:38 I_Eat_Pork These are the important plans and intentions of the Dutch coalition agreement

These are the important plans and intentions of the Dutch coalition agreement
"Hope, guts and pride" is the name of the coalition agreement of PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB. In 26 pages they spell out what they plan to do. "Whether it's about security of existence, healthcare or money in the wallet, or the availability of sufficient housing, our ambition is great," the four write in the introduction to what they themselves call an outline agreement. "We also want to reverse the far too high influx of asylum seekers and immigrants. We want farmers, gardeners and fishermen to have a future again." The new coalition has broken down the intended policies, many of which still have to be worked out by the future cabinet, into 10 chapters. Below are the main points for each chapter:

Subsistence security and purchasing power

The four parties have agreed that the deductible in health care will be more than halved. This will only happen in 2027, because earlier would not be possible. Now there is still a mandatory deductible of 385 euros per year. That would then become 165 euros per year. Furthermore, the coalition wants a reduction in the burden on labor "for example by introducing an extra bracket in the Income Tax." And the four want to encourage job security, improve debt relief and make child care almost free for parents.

Grip on asylum and migration

As announced, the coalition is heading for the strictest asylum package ever. Thus there will be a temporary Asylum Crisis Act with crisis measures. In the event of a "crisis," far-reaching measures can be taken. The indefinite asylum permit will be abolished and the temporary residence permit will be modified. Asylum seekers who have been rejected will be "deported as much as possible, including by force." Also, asylum seekers with residency permits will no longer be given priority in the allocation of social housing. Automatic family reunification will also be scrapped, and the number of people allowed to chain migrate will be "severely restricted." The agreement also states that the dispersal law is to be undone (much to the chagrin of the law's creator). The new coalition wants to repeal the law, which has already been passed by both the House and Senate. Furthermore, the coalition wants to seek permission from the European Commission not to participate in European asylum and migration policy, and wants more border control and the introduction of the dual status system. Asylum is not the only form of migration the coalition wants to combat. There will be additional requirements for migrant workers from outside the EU, and "malicious temporary employment structures" will be cracked down on. Study migration will be curbed, including by offering more courses in Dutch, a cap on foreign students and an increase in tuition fees for non-EU students. As for civic integration, the four want knowledge of the Holocaust to become mandatory and language requirements to be raised. Under the same heading is regulation of amplified prayer calls [of mosques].

(Public) housing, infrastructure, public transportation and aviation

Structurally, 100,000 new homes must be added each year. One way to do this is to make more land available for building. "'Adding streets, inside and outside of cities." the agreement states. Procedures to build must also be accelerated. For people who already own a home, the coalition wants to curb rent increases (in social housing). Of new construction, at least 30 percent on average must be for social rent. For homeowners, the increase in property taxes will be capped. And also important for this group: "there will be no tampering with the mortgage interest tax deduction." In terms of infrastructure, 130 kilometers per hour may be driven "whereever possible" again, including during the day. Furthermore, the accessibility of rural areas must be improved "by strengthening bus transport between village centers in the countryside" and the construction of the Lelylijn, a train connection between Lelystad and Groningen, will continue.

Agriculture and fisheries, food security, and nature

Regarding agriculture, the BBB's spearhead, the coalition wants to "pull out all the stops" to adapt European directives. Efforts are being made to adapt the Nitrates Directive and "recalibrate" Natura 2000 areas. "Aimed at a main structure of robust nature areas instead of 'snippet nature'." The agreement also states that the Netherlands should no longer pursue a more ambitious nature policy than the rest of Europe. The coalition does not want a forced reduction of livestock. Nor should there be any forced expropriation. However, there should be generous voluntary buyouts and plenty of effort should be put into innovation in agriculture. Striking: the cheaper "red diesel" is coming back for farmers, horticulturists and contract workers. Despite the fact that in 2013, that low excise tax rate for diesel was actually scrapped.

Energy, security of supply and climate adaptation

In terms of climate policy, the coalition wants to stick to existing goals, the agreement states. "Only if we fail to meet the targets will we make alternative policies," it says. The climate fund also remains intact. From that billion dollar fund, established by the current cabinet, climate measures are financed. The fund also provides money for the development of nuclear energy. The new coalition is heading for four large new nuclear power plants, and not two, as previously thought. The parties want to focus on more energy independence and own sustainable energy production. Furthermore, the heat pump will not be made mandatory after all. The current cabinet had thought of that, but it has been scrapped. Subsidies for electric cars to be scrapped by 2025.

Public facilities, healthcare and education

The four parties want to strengthen primary care, including general practitioner, district nursing and informal care. Furthermore, working in care (where there is a large staff shortage) must become more attractive. This should be done "by means of more autonomy, career prospects, good working conditions and limitation of regulatory and administrative burdens." There should also be better care for the elderly. In terms of education, teaching methods used should be "proven effective and otherwise politically neutral" and 'Englishification' should be reduced. On medical ethics, everything remains as it is. "The legal frameworks remain unchanged" around embryos, abortion and euthanasia.

Good governance and strong rule of law

The coalition is sorting out a new electoral system for the House of Representatives. Exactly what that should look like remains to be determined. In any case, it should strengthen "the regional link between voters and elected officials." The intention is to have the system in place by the next elections. Furthermore, steps must be taken for a constitutional revision so that laws can be tested against the Constitution. And by extension, steps should also be taken for the formation of a constitutional court to conduct constitutional review (a fervent wish of NSC leader Pieter Omtzigt). There will also be "a right to err". "A single mistake can no longer push a citizen deep into trouble," the new coalition believes. Dunning and collection costs of the government will be sharply reduced. Also, the number of civil servants and consultants in the government is to be cut, and a cut of one hundred million euros has been booked for public broadcasting. Hotel stays will become more expensive because the VAT rate will return to 21 percent. VAT on cultural goods and services will also go up, but not for cinemas and day recreation.

Domestic security

In the area of security in the Netherlands, the four want to strengthen the approach to organized crime. "Greater efforts will be made to confiscate assets" and "the anti-money laundering approach will be intensified." There will also be harsher penalties for serious crimes such as terror and serious acts of violence and sex offenses. The juvenile justice system will be made tougher, including by increasing maximum sentences.

International security

"The Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine politically, militarily, financially and morally against Russian aggression," the agreement reads. The NATO standard of 2 percent for defense is to be made legally binding. And controversially, there is to be an examination of "when relocation of the embassy to Jerusalem can take place at an appropriate time." Most countries have their embassies in Tel Aviv because of Jerusalem's complex status.

Public finances, economy and business climate

The business climate must be improved, the new coalition believes. And so recent tax increases for entrepreneurs will be partially reversed. This includes an increase in the energy tax. The forming parties have agreed to eventually save 14.7 billion euros per year. The same amount of additional spending (tax relief and investments) will be spent in return. On balance, spending will eventually be reduced by 4.7 billion euros per year.

2024.05.16 10:35 DualityDrn Update 0.8.1 and a new game mode: 4-Player Brawl!

Note I'm not a developer, just transcribing the patch notes here for visibility and discussion.
Hello Commanders! Tomorrow, May 16th, at 12:00 UTC, we'll release the 0.8.1 update, focusing on the new 4-Player Brawl game mode, but also introducing a number of balance changes and improvements. Let's dive into some details!

4-Player Brawl

4-Player Brawl offers a new way to play, that stands as a compliment to already established Mechabellum meta. The mode is a combination of a Free For All battle with PvE elements. You'll face off against three other players, while also contending with an NPC faction located in the middle of the map. The players' objective is to accumulate points for eliminating your opponents, while also destroying Supply Ships in the middle of the map to afford more units and upgrades in each round. The player that gets the specified amount of points first, wins the whole match.
But be careful! Being in the lead all the time isn't always beneficial. The neutral AI will pay extra attention to the best performing player each round and will set up its defenses specifically to counter their army.
The 4-Player Brawl isn't as hardcore or demanding on micromanagement as the 1v1 or 2v2 modes, and requires a different type of strategy than the usual Mechabellum match. Think in more macro terms, know when to give ground and surrender your lead, and set yourself up for the final victory!

A few words about ongoing performance improvements

The 4 Player Brawl is demanding on player hardware, due to a much larger number of units compared to classic game modes. Currently, the performance in this iteration of the mode isn't where we want it to be by the time of the full release. Players playing on high-end hardware should already have a satisfactory experience, but we want to be upfront here and it's likely that those of you playing on more mid- or low-range PCs will experience a varying degree of lag, especially in the later rounds of the 4 Player Brawl.
Improving the performance will be one of our priorities for the coming updates, so expect your performance and experience to only improve going forward. In the meantime, we want to thank you for your patience!

Balance Adjustments

Over the years of development we've had many questions regarding how we approach balancing units, production, and tech. From this update onward we'll try to address balance changes with additional notes on why a change was made in hopes to be more transparent with you all! Not every post or a hotfix we make might get that treatment, but we'll try to do this as frequently as our time allows.

Production Techs

Now all production Tech have a maximum production amount. Note: In the past, production Techs were too powerful in 2v2. This change has almost no impact on 1v1 battles, but it may limit the role of production Tech in 2v2 and our new 4-Player Brawl.

Vulcan

Splash range increased from 12 meters to 15 meters.
Note: After the Vulcan's unlocking cost increased from 100 to 200, the Vulcan's overall winning rate has been significantly lower than other units. This change aims to further enhance Vulcan's effectiveness against small and medium-sized units.

Melting Point

[Energy Absobtion] price decreased from 300 to 250.

Mustang

The ATK reduction value of [High Explosive Ammo] has been decreased from 40% to 30%, and the price has been increased from 150 to 200.

Steel Ball

[Energy Absobtion] price decreased from 300 to 200. Note: We hope that a cheaper [Energy Absorbtion] Tech can help Steel Ball fight against the buffed Vulcan.

Phoenix

[Quantum Reassembly] has been adjusted: the time required for reassemble is reduced from 20 seconds to 15 seconds, and the maximum number of reassemble is reduced from 2 to 1. The reassembled Phoenix is calculated as a quarter of the original score at the end of the round.
Note: In the past, [Quantum Reassembly] was weak in 1v1 and strong in 2v2. This change aims to balance the strength of [Quantum Reassembly] between different modes.

Scorpion

ATK increased from 9661 to 10047 (4% increase).
Range decreased from 110 to 100.
[Siege Mode] has been adjusted: In siege mode, the attack interval of the Scorpion is increased by an additional 1.5 seconds, and the ATK reduction value of the Scorpion is decreased from 40% to 35%.
Note: Although the win rate of the Scorpion is not high, the relatively long range and high health of the Scorpion have made it difficult for many players to find a suitable counter. Therefore, we decided to shorten the range of the Scorpion. We hope that this change will give more units the opportunity to fight against Scorpions more effectively.

Fire Badger

HP increased from 5703 to 5931 (4% increase).
ATK increased from 26 to 27 (4% increase).
Movement speed increased from 9m/s to 10m/s.

Sabertooth

ATK increased from 5455 to 6000 (10% increase).
Movement speed increased from 7m/s to 8m/s.

Typhoon

HP decreased from 10785 to 10030 (7% decrease)
The base HP of [Protective Barrier] has been decreased from 11000 to 10000.

Bugfixes

Fixed many UI related issues.
Fixed some English translation issues.

Wrapping up

One last thing we want to mention here is that there are no new units added with this update. As you all probably noticed in our new keyart, new units are on the way, and we plan to add some still in our Early Access program, a little bit later!
As always, thank you for supporting Mechabellum and helping us along in our Early Access journey! We hope you'll like the new 4 Player Brawl mode and will share your feedback with us!

2024.05.16 10:17 DemocracyManaged Balance Suggestions for (almost) Every Primary Weapon

There's been a lot of talk around balance lately, particularly some (in my opinion) valid complaints about certain nerfs not making sense.
With that in mind, here are some suggestions around balance. The focus here is on fun and uniqueness.
Credit for most suggestions goes to the Helldivers community. I've mostly compiled what others have said, though I've tried to be more specific about stat recommendations.
For anyone who doesn't know, the stats shown on-screen are not the full picture. For instance, the CEO has said recoil is actually governed by 14 different values. However, I wanted to be as specific as possible.
For anyone wondering, I'm around level 50 and play on various difficulties, most often 7.
When in doubt, I've erred on the side of smaller versus larger changes, which I think is a good approach to balance in general.
Some more general thoughts about balance about the bottom, but for now, let's just dive in...
Liberator: Honestly great as-is; well-rounded starter for clearing crowds, compensated by being bad against armor.
Liberator Penetrator: VERY underpowered due to a 30-round mag (versus 45 for the Liberator), and 45 (versus 60) damage, though it does have Medium armor penetration. It's very strange that the "Penetrator" does far less damage than its "vanilla" variant. Suggest raising damage to 65 and keeping the clip at 30 rounds to emphasize its specialty anti-armor role.
Liberator Concussive: Suggest raising damage to 75. Come on... it shoots explosive, um, concussive rounds. The smaller clip would still balance it versus the basic Liberator, while the lack of Medium penetration would mean it doesn't invalidate the Penetrator.
Tenderizer: Suggest raising damage to 75 on this one too, or it will be completely invalidated by the Liberator variants (as it currently is...). This would make it a smaller-capacity, higher-caliber alternative, which aligns with the description. Also, ammo should be fully refilled by drops (as most other guns are) and the color fixed to match the trailer. Guessing these were oversights.
Adjudicator: Well-balanced thanks to recent buffs, but I do think the recoil should be more like 30-35 instead of 40. I'm a big fan (and liked it even before the buff), but it feels strangely hard to control the recoil, especially now that it's considered an assault rifle.
Diligence: Think it's great after the buffs. Not always ideal for bugs (though I use it for that too), but great for bots. No changes.
Diligence Counter-Sniper: Love it after the buffs; it was terrible before. I do think it should have 8 mags instead of 6 (matching the Diligence in mags, but still with less ammo overall due to a clip of 15 versus 20). It feels like it runs out way too fast.
Defender: Honestly not sure; I rarely use it and haven't read much about it. I suspect this means it's decent as-is.
Pummeler: Similar to Defender but less fire rate and lower damage in exchange for stun. Well-received by the community; good as-is.
Punisher: Powerful and well-rounded, good as-is.
Slugger: People were using it as a stagger sniper rifle, and somehow the balance "fix" was to remove the stagger and power, but keep the sniper accuracy? This is a slug shotgun. Suggest reverting damage and stagger to pre-nerf, but make it somewhat less accurate (or have the damage drop off more) at longer ranges.
Breaker: Good as-is.
Breaker Spray& Pray: Nearly half the damage / twice the capacity of the regular Breaker, but only 10% more fire rate? Granted this is a light crowd clearer, but I really think the fire rate should be more like 400. This would still be notably lower DPS than the Breaker, but with more ammo and much faster firing... it is called the Spray&Pray!
Breaker Incendiary: One of the best weapons imo, with a very reasonable trade-off of less immediate power for more BURN THEM ALL. My teammates often use it to set me ablaze with patriotism. Good as-is.
Exploding Crossbow: One of the worst-balanced weapons right now. The question is whether it should be more of a light crowd-clear (as it was pre-nerf), or armor penetrator (as the devs have claimed was their original intention), as currently it is bad at both. I would favor the former, only because A) that's what it was before and what people seemed to prefer, and B) that sets it apart from the Eruptor more, rather than basically serving the same role but without the ability to close holes. (I personally wish it could close them, as it is explosive, but being semi-auto that might be a bit OP.) I think it should be reverted to pre-nerf, but adding a couple more clips and keeping the faster-flying bolts (a nice change!). It was odd and a bit annoying how slow the bolts were when it first got released; even strafing could throw them off. It's a crossbow, after all, not a trebuchet. The tooltip should also say its level of armor penetration (currently it doesn't.)
Dominator: Not sure why it was recently nerfed down to 275 damage. I honestly feel the recent nerf made no difference to the balance, but I'd revert it just as a show of good faith.
Eruptor: There is a lot to say here... suggest reverting its stats and performance to the original release, but keeping the fix to it not 'imploding' players toward the explosion, and keeping the magazines at 6. I think it is potentially OK to keep the slight nerf to damage radius fall-off too (I didn't feel much difference, but it seemed more realistic somehow, whereas at release the explosion felt like it went abruptly from full damage to 0 at the edge of the radius).
HOWEVER, removing the "shrapnel" mechanic absolutely needs to be reverted. This was a massive, unnecessary nerf that removed the gun's identity and took it from being great to being awful.
A couple more points about that:
-Yes, it could randomly kill you from 30 meters away... like 0.5% of the time. Anyone claiming it didn't is wrong, though it was very rare. I had it happen maybe twice in a 10-hour period.
-No, it was not a big deal at all. However, it also did not make sense, and added nothing fun to gameplay. None of the other "explosive" guns, airstrikes, etc, work that way, and it appears from dev comments the rare weirdly long ricochets were not intended. If that could be fixed without removing the shrapnel, I think it should be... though I would personally rather have a quick revert/fix that adds back shrapnel but keeps the weird ricochet, versus a slower fix that resolves the issue completely.
-Removing the shrapnel was a dev decision. Some people need to stop blaming the community for that, because no one was asking for it to be removed completely; they just wanted the explosive mechanics to be more consistent, fun, and intuitive.
Punisher Plasma: Feels way better after the buffs; love the increased flight speed for the shots. I could see a slight buff to power or explosive radius, but think it's pretty good as-is.
Blitzer: Feels amazing after the buff to fire rate. Kudos to the devs, because this has gone from hot garbage to being my favorite gun... unless/until the Eruptor is fixed. Democracy rating: Taste My Lightning / 10.
Scythe: The buff helped, but it still feels quite weak. I'd buff power significantly (up to 450-500 DPS) and up the Fire Limit from 8 to 10. For comparison, the Sickle has a DPS of 687.5 (assuming its 750 "Fire Rate" means roughly 750 rounds per minute) and a Fire Limit of 9.
Sickle: Super fun, no notes. Great crowd clear, not so great against heavies. I think the nerf to its ammo cartridges was fine, though unnecessary. It didn't change much.
Scorcher: I haven't used it personally (literally just unlocked), but the community seems to feel it's in a good place. Looking forward to some Scorching!
Purifier: Also have not used this personally, so take with a grain of salt, but the consensus seems to be that it's like a much worse Scorcher. The chargeup is a neat mechanic, so I'd lean into that and add a lot more power... like, 400 versus the current 250. Maybe increase recoil to give it that extra kick. Also, I could be wrong, but the 250 displayed for the fire rate seems strangely high based on the gameplay videos I've seen... not sure if that's accurate.
General balance suggestions:
1) "Spreadsheet" balancing based on gun popularity is a bad strategy.
It's good to encourage loadout variety, but guns will never be used equally, and "more used" does not necessarily mean "overpowered." There are many reasons besides a gun being unbalanced that it might be used by more people. It could be unlocked earlier, or easier to learn, or just more fun to use (in which case it's the last thing you should be nerfing!). Some will be used by more people simply because they see other people using it. There are many examples of this in other games. In Rocket League, the "Octane" car is literally identical to many other cars in its stats, but it's still the most used by a wide margin. In Age of Empires 2, the French civilization has a higher win-rate among low-level players because it's easy to learn, but at a higher level, it's well-balanced.
2) Ideally balance for low and high difficulties... but high is more important.
At a high level, if a gun underperforms, you will either die, or worse, not contribute properly to your team... and Freedom.
Because there are some enemies that only appear on higher difficulties, you simply can't get away without playtesting on higher levels.
With that said, if something works well at a high level, the lower levels take care of themselves to an extent. There are some caveats (for instance, crowd-clearing weapons with low armor penetration are relatively better on lower levels), but it's hard to have perfect balance across all difficulties, and it's less important for lower levels because you can get away with a lot more and still survive. The same is not true in reverse.
If the devs don't have the time or inclination to play at a high level, a Preview server (as some have suggested) could help. Tapping skilled streamers/content creators for balance suggestions (after vetting them and/or putting some kind of NDA in place) is an option, too. Microsoft does that with Age of Empires, for instance.
3) This is a PVE game, not PVP. It's best to err on the side of limited changes... especially with nerfs. Fixes take time, but it takes 0 development time to NOT nerf something.
People emotionally invest in weapons they enjoy. (I bring my emotional support 500KG everywhere!) If you change them, they probably won't like it! This goes double for unnecessary nerfs (see 1 above).
In a PVP game, if something is overpowered, the person it's used against generally has less fun. In Helldivers, our enemies are subhuman and have no feelings to consider besides a hatred of all things free and Democratic.
If you've read this far, thanks for taking the time!
I'd love to hear what others think about these suggestions.
The CEO (Pilestedt) has made it clear that the community's concerns around balance have been noted, and the recent Discord posts indicate it's something the team is currently looking at, so hopefully there will be more positive changes soon.
See you on the front!

2024.05.16 10:16 Distinct-Cherry-8141 First sex with IUD?

I got my first copper IUD a little over a month ago now. Me and my boyfriend have been a bit touchy since I’ve got it and have had sex, but today I finally decided to let him cum in me. I got my strings checked three days ago and was told they’re already short and that it looked good.
Right after he came in me I wiped myself and noticed some red spotting as if I was bleeding a little. This went away pretty quickly, but I noticed my strings were basically non existent. I couldn’t really feel them at ALL. Maybe just the tips of them poking out my cervix but they had become to much shorter than I’ve felt them. Is this normal? This is the first time anyone has ever came in me at all but without anything other than an IUD kind of freaks me out. I know there’s a very low failure rate but all my gynecologist did was look at my strings to see how things looked. I’m supposed to be ovulating sometime within the next two days so I really don’t want to take any risks.

2024.05.16 10:13 Prior-Lingonberry-70 #61 in Big ERN’s safe withdrawal rate series is out

Link May 16, 2024 – Welcome to another Safe Withdrawal Rate Series installment. Please see the landing page of the series for a guide to all parts so far. In Part 60, dealing with the “Die With Zero” idea, I mentioned working on an upcoming post about the “Safety First” approach, and I finally got around to writing that post. What is Safety First? It involves using asset allocations different from those in the Trinity Study or my SWR Toolbox (see Part 28). For example, we could use Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) as a default-free and CPI-hedged investment option. However, TIPS are no hedge against longevity risk. An annuity hedges against longevity risk; though the most common annuity option, a single premium immediate annuity (SPIA), is usually not CPI-adjusted. Also, for the longest time, low interest rates rendered the Safety First approach all but useless because neither TIPS ladders nor annuities generated enough income for a comfortable retirement. You would have been better off taking your chances with the volatility of a 60/40 portfolio.
In other words, there is no free lunch. You don’t get peace of mind for free. Rather, you likely pay a steep price for that safety by giving up most, if not all, of your portfolio upside and/or bequest potential. However, since interest rates started rising again in 2022, the entire fixed-income interest rate landscape looks more attractive now. Could this be the time to reconsider Safety First? Let’s take a look…

For the next trading day, May 16, 2024, the stock may see marginal gains as it hovers around the new resistance level of $530.08. Over the upcoming week, any further positive economic data or confirmation of rate cuts could push the ETF higher, potentially in the range of $535 to $540.
Intrinsic Value and Long-Term Investment Potential
Evaluating SPY's intrinsic value involves examining the broader economic trends and the overall health of the companies it represents. As an ETF tracking the S&P 500, it benefits from diversification across various sectors, reducing specific sector risks. Given its robust composition, it remains a reliable indicator of market performance.
In the long term, the SPY remains a stable investment, benefiting from the general growth of the U.S. economy. However, at its current valuation metrics (P/E of 26.69), it may be moderately overvalued, suggesting expectations of high future earnings which need to be met to justify the price levels.
Overall Evaluation
Based on the current technical and fundamental analysis, the SPY should be categorized as a 'Hold' candidate. The ETF's recent run and high RSI suggest it might be prudent to wait for a more opportune entry point if considering new acquisitions. Its intrinsic stability and representation of the broader market make it a viable long-term investment, but the current overbought territory suggests cautious optimism is warranted in the short term.
Key considerations include monitoring upcoming economic data and Federal Reserve moves, which could [...]

  • For a long time, Japan has fought stale development and flattening as well as a quickly maturing populace.
  • Trades jumped 5.0 percent, after developing 2.8 percent the past quarter, while imports fell 3.4 percent.
  • Japan’s cash was once viewed as a place of refuge, expected to ascend in esteem amid worldwide disturbance.
Japan’s economy experienced a more terrible than-anticipated withdrawal in the principal quarter, official information showed Thursday, in additional terrible news for its disliked government.
Total national output on the planet’s number four economy shrank by 0.5 percent against market assumptions for a drop of just 0.3 percent.

Japan’s Worst Economy Than Expected

Contrasted and the principal quarter of 2023, the Gross domestic product fell an annualized 2.0 percent and a gauge drop of 1.2 percent, as per Bloomberg News.
The economy was hit by a significant quake on January 1 on the Noto promontory and by stops underway at auto goliath Toyota’s Daihatsu auxiliary.
Japan has been playing with a downturn since last year, with zero development — updated Thursday from an extension of 0.1 percent — between October and December.
In the past quarter, from July to September, the Gross domestic product experienced a significant compression of 0.9 percent, likewise updated on Thursday from a previous perusing of short 0.8 percent.
The new information will add to the strain on State leader KISHIDA Fumio and his administration, which for a long time has seen unfortunate survey evaluations.
Germany supplanted Japan as the number three economy in 2023 — by and large on account of the feeble yen — and is projected to be overwhelmed by India as well.
Expansion, nonetheless, has gotten, permitting the Bank of Japan in Spring to call time on its nonconformist money-related arrangement and raise loan fees without precedent for 17 years.
Rates somewhere else stay higher anyway and the wide differential has added to strain on the yen, which as of late has hit three-decade lows against the dollar.
In late April and early May, the yen momentarily rose forcefully against the greenback, provoking the hypothesis that Japan had mediated on the lookout.
Yet, that has not been validated in that frame of mind, with the yen cratering from around 115 for each dollar before Russia‘s February 2022 attack on Ukraine to 160 last month.
A more vulnerable yen is great for Japanese exporters and unfamiliar guests, yet it makes imports and unfamiliar travel for outbound sightseers more costly.

2024.05.16 09:32 Stematt1 Hi my new friends!

So, new to this potential life… I’m a 51F, widowed.
I was diagnosed with a left bundle branch block in 2018. Caused some palms, occasional chest pain, nothing terrible.
Then March 28 hit. Pulse dropped to 31…was staying with parents…I was disoriented. They didn’t call ambulance, just watched me all night, chest pain in the morning. Went to Dr. She sent me to ER, tryponin levels normal. Sent to Cardiology. Saw him 4/8, which by that time, I had had a septal infarct sometime between the ER visit and that dr visit.
When I had the echo done, bradycardic at 42, 78/36, sent upstairs, no MI. The actual echo was pretty clear. Good results.
Holter monitor, all I know is it was abnormal. PET scan has been moved up to Tuesday. I know my Apple Watch has been alarming for both low and high alarms. Mostly lows, 39, 42, 45, 47 bpm for periods of longer than ten minutes. Lots of chest pain…nothing too terrible.
Is this something treated by a pacemaker? I have been prepping myself that this is going to be part of my life, but maybe this is the wrong track. This waiting is killing me. I don’t get ALL the results until like the second week of June. With these low numbers, I kind of feel, like a bad night and I might not wake up one morning.
Am I being irrational?? My husband passed in our bad from a heart attack. I cannot go with way. My kids just cannot lose another parent this way.

Marius
is he actually bad? his kits read insanely good with AoE triple enemy max HP(not as strong as Acrizia and Gnut, I'm aware).I might suspect the 4 the got him are Krakens that have stacked accounts and Marius is not needed. The ratings are also the same for Karnage, Very low

2024.05.16 09:22 OSRSTranquility [Discussion] SEO is not dead, but 'known information' is?

I have seen a lot of doom & gloom since Google's SGE announcement (while Bing and Brave Search had it for months by the way). SEO has died many times in the last 2 decades, and I'm sure this time it will survive just the same, if you know what I mean. But it might change significantly...
I read a thought-provoking post (see below) and it's a great starting point to discuss how 'AI' will impact the future of search (optimization). The users and the business side of it.
Do you think that: blog spamming websites done for? Will niche search become more relevant than ever? Will websites/companies start to abandon Google as they are shifting their business model to websites paying them for exposure? Will people use other ways of search as Google (clones) get worse?
The original post:
Known Information For SEO is Dead (Here's What to Do Instead).
Google has officially launched its AI overviews in the US and will soon roll them out to other nations.
So, what is it?
AI overviews are article spinners.
And not good ones at that.
But it will get better, if we know anything about machine learning is that it will improve.
However, you must assume that it will impact traffic now and increasingly in the future.
For information publishers, this is definitely a tough spot to be in.
Yes, you will lose traffic that you gained at no cost.
This will impact ad and affiliate revenue.
There are ways to pivot, but that is for another post.
However, if you do SEO for business brands, then SEO will only thrive.
Let me explain.
Most content does not do what people think it does. Content writers and SEOs have looked at traffic as a metric for success when, in all honesty, traffic has nothing to do with anything.
Capturing as much buyer intent search is where SEO success comes from. Because when people are in the market to buy, they will be exposed to your brand, which increases the likelihood that you could be in their consideration set to purchase from.
Sadly, as an industry obsessed with traffic, much of the traffic that SEOs tend to gain is informational and not being searched for by those with buyer intent.
This is what we call 'known information without purchase intent'.
It's everywhere, and writers online have skyscrapered content from other known content for years.
Most SEO has merely been shifting and amalgamating information, doing a bit of a rewrite and hitting publish.
All with the belief that this information will somehow increase the propensity of people to buy from us.
That's not how it works.
For business brands, reaching people with high purchase intent is key.
Showing up as much as possible on the buyer's journey is what matters.
Traffic is vanity unless it increases revenue.
We are now entering the era of 'DEEP SEO'.
One where SEOs need to challenge businesses to invest in quality and consumer experience.
Product pages that are well written and have a high information gain rate.
By that, I mean that humans and machines can easily access and gain information at a low cost, regarding search cost and cognitive resources.
This, however, will challenge our industry.
We will need to slow down.
We will need to advise our clients that they need to think more about buyer experience and the purchase journey.
On the other side of this coin is creating 'unexpected content'.
This is the content consumers didn't know they needed...because they aren't the experts.
This is the realm of content marketing and digital PR
This is telling people you exist.
This is advertising your brand while building authority for your website and brand search.
I truly believe that the future of SEO is brighter than ever.
But traffic as a metric is done.
Traffic quality is the future.
